Scientists in the Democratic Republic of Congo just unveiled a brand-new monkey species, Colobus congoensis—or Likweli to locals—featuring striking black fur and a salmon-pink muzzle, spotted only 114 times in dense high forests. Discovered after a decade-long hunt since its first blurry photo in 2008, this elusive primate is one of just five new African monkey species found in 75 years.
