- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguar fans, welcome in to do all daily presented by Gen Jack.com.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Deluga.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks so much for being here Tuesday, August, nineteenth.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_00]: Right now we're taking a look at Jaguar's training camp practice number seventeen.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: Just got back to record.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: We will be looking later today at the Jaguar's offensive performance kind of reviewing the Jaguar's offensive performance and their tie against the Saints from this past Sunday.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: But right now we're focusing on training camp practice number seventeen and everything that went down today.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: Not a super intense practice, no pads, but there is a lot, a lot to talk about.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to get into it.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all being here.

- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: Look good while doing it.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: No paths to as I mentioned, the Jack Wars, they waived defensive linemen, Eli Moster, they waived wide receiver, Darious Laster, neither of those players were going to make the fifty-three-man roster, neither of those were even really close.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's making the fifty-three, they signed running back Kevin Harris an offensive linemen, Jerome Carvin, and so
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: Those are two guys competing.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think Kevin Harris has a real shot at the roster.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like there's an injury at running back or anything like that.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: So that's going to be tough for him.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: But at least he gets to potentially put some film out there against the dolphins.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: This upcoming weekend.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: Same thing for Jerome Carver and I don't think there's really a path to the roster for either of those guys.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think that Carver and May have been picked up because of why at myelms injury.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: And he's weak to weak, unfortunately the rookie is.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: The good news is it's not like he was going to come in and start right away.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: It looked like Wyatt Milum, but it's just thanks for having that he asked to deal with an injury instead of continuing to grow in his role as a primary backup offensive lineman, being able to play tackle, being able to play guard.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: getting more reps against other teams like the dolphins and preseason.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: So it stinks for him, but it's not something that should be like a major blow overall to the Jag War throughout the twenty twenty five season again week to week.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: So not going to be a long-term thing.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: Now there was some really really good developments on the injury front for the Jag War is today.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: Eric Armstead and positional drills and team drills.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: Tyson Campbell and Travis Hunter were both in positional drills and then participated in the
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: Team alignment and assignment period, which is where they get out there, they get lined up, they snap the ball, but then they don't compete through the rep.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: So both of those guys, Tyson Campbell and Travis Hunter were out there for that.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: They were not out there during the team, eleven on eleven and seven on seven competitive periods.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: After practice, Liam Cohen did call them day to day.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: Cohen's goal for her hunter is to have him ready for the joint practices on Thursday.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: So they are going to take it easy with Travis tomorrow and see what's up with him and try to get him ready to participate in joint practices on both sides of the ball.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: That's the plan there.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: But again, Eric Armstrong stood on the field during positional and team drills.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: Anton Harrison on the field, positional and team drills.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: Tumadoga on the field, positional and team drills, and Mason Smith.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: Mason Smith and Eric Armstrong said were out there on the field, together with Josh Hans Allen, with Trayvon Walker.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: That is a huge development.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: And Anton, being back, Tum would be in back, those are both really important too, because Tum would probably right now.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, technically he's competing for
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: Starting job.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: There seems to be a legitimate competition at right guard.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: My guess is that the team is trying to push Patrick McCary because they want Patrick McCary to be the starting right guard because they paid him thirteen million dollars to play that position.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't think they're going to shy away from getting the best guy on the field.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think the best guy is Patrick McCary.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: But I think they're pushing him.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: And Chuma Doga has been impressive throughout training camp in the preseason when he's been available.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: Didn't play this last weekend, but having Anton
- 4:20[SPEAKER_00]: and Tuma and Mason and Eric all on the field during competitive team as a huge development for the Jaguars lines of Scrimmage.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: You also had Colin Saunders out there, forgot to mention that before.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: Colin Saunders, who the Jaguars traded for, number sixty eight coming in, played against him on Sunday.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: Now he's a team mate, defensive lineman.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: So things are looking up for the Jaguars defensive line.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: I know there's been a lot of angst about Anton.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: I excuse me about Eric Armstrong's dead, about Mason Smith.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: They're finally participating in team competitive.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: And that could just be such a huge development for the Jaguars, defensive line rotation, they're starting group, their ability to rush the passer without kicking edge guys inside.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_00]: It's huge, it's huge.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: So that's a big, big win.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: And Tyson being day to day, he was day to day last week.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's obviously progressing, having participated at least in the alignment and assignment period and positional drills.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: Travis is clearly very close if their goal is to get him out there during the joint practices.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: So I think overall good news on the injury front today in a big way.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: Practice mesh against zone and positional drills, which I thought was cool to see if y'all remember wild card weekend.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: Twenty-twenty-two, technically it was twenty-twenty-three, but the twenty-twenty-two season, Trevor Lawrence, through an interception, mesh, you know, shallows, it was a shallow crosser.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, I don't remember if it was mesh, but it was a shallow cross.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_00]: And Evan Ingraham needed to sit down in the zone and he didn't, they were practicing exactly that in this practice and the positional drills.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: They've done so many different little, very specific
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: Things like that throughout Camp and I love seeing that intentionality and attention to detail, the focus on the finer points of certain styles of place, offensively.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: As I mentioned, there was another full alignment and assignment period where they're just getting to the line of scrimmage
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: and making sure that they're getting lined up properly, getting to the right call, all that good stuff on both sides, had one fall start today, so you want to eliminate those completely, you're not ever going to completely eliminate penalties, but overall I don't think that that's a big deal.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: Bad thing, they've been really focused on getting those under control, the pre-snap mistakes, Logan coked practiced some place kicking today.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: I would say sticks to your day job for Logan Cook, but now, obviously he'll be like a emergency kicker, but Cam little did a good job today in team drills, making some kicks, no surprise there.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: So, that's always great to see Cam little doing a good job, kind of funny to see Logan Cook, kick it, and then Cam little kick it, because even though Logan Cook is like this amazing punner,
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: kicking the ball off the ground and kicking the ball drop, drop kicking, not the same, not the same at all.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: You can clearly see Cam Little is just such a stud kicking the ball.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll talk a little bit about seven on seven, eleven on eleven, and then about Trevor Lawrence's day.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: Nick Mullins.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: Overall, I had a really good day, I think.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: He had several completions to Joshua Cifus.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: He had a touchdown pass to Hunter Long.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: He threaded the needle on one of those throws, touched down to Joshua Cifus.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: So Nick Mullin, who I've been a little down on based on, you know, I just don't think he has the physical tools that some of the other guys have that Seth Hamigan has, potentially.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: He had a good day.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: There was one throw where Cifus needed to be a little bit more ready for a pass.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: But other than that, C.F.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: has had a big day and he's been a little quiet.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: More quiet as of late and he was early in camp.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: So CNN have a bunch of bunch of production today.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: I think was a good sign for him.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: Eleven on eleven to one smooth how to would be sack which is an as a prize in me that guy's been racking up the numbers in preseason and training camp.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: Austin Tramel had a would be touched down I think Mason Smith might have gotten a sack on that play and all honesty had had they been live but still
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: He got pretty open down the field.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: Antonio Johnson had a pass break up in the end zone versus Joshua Cephas.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: Paul probably shouldn't have been thrown.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: Johnson was just in great position.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: He's big.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: He's got a length.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: So that's going to be a matchup.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: He's able to win.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: And then the final note here.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: Rayon Lane intercepted Seth Hanagan on probably a pass that shouldn't have been thrown.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: But definitely it was high higher than it needed to be.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: Right on Lane was Johnny on the spot and picked it off and was able to run it back a little bit.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: So that was a really good play for the Jaguars rookie safety.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_00]: Unfortunately, a play for Seth Heningen.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars starting offense today, not going to go through like the numbers and all that of like he was six of twelve, whatever, whatever.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not worried about that anymore at this point.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: We're beyond that.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: I will tell you, Brian Thomas Jr.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: dropped another touchdown.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: But he also had several catches after that on the day.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: Look, I'm not going to worry about Brian Thomas Jr.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: until issues are happening in games because the wrap on him has always been that he's not very good in practice.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_00]: And that was evident last year.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_00]: They talked about that at LSU.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: All he's done when he's gotten on the field is ball out.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: He balled out at LSU.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: He balled out for the Jaguar last year until he's not balling out on the field when the lights are brightest when the games mean something.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not worried about it one bit.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: But the fact that he gets frustrated with himself for not making the plays, I do think is a good thing.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like he just doesn't care out there.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: He's not lack of musical.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: He's trying.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: But for whatever reason,
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: when it matters, he is able to execute it a higher clip.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not worried about it right now.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: Britain's strange was another kind of safety valve target for Trevor Lawrence today.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: Overall, I thought Lawrence had a good day.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: You had Brian Thomas drop a pass.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: You had Britain's strange drop a pass.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't like an easy catch necessarily.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: but it went right through his hands.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: So I mean, he should have caught it, right?
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: Lawrence had to dirt one because Basial Tutan wasn't ready.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: Then there was also a drop by Lee Quint Allen.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: So some drops today, you don't want to see that, but first practice after a game a couple days ago.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: Practices are not always going to be extremely clean, especially when you're coming off of games.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I thought Lawrence looked good overall.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: Again, the drops want to eliminate those.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: And then there was a couple times where I thought Lawrence could have made a better read.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_00]: And one time where I thought he could have just gotten to his
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: check down a lot quicker.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's still that play.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: It was incomplete.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: He threw it to Parker Washington short.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_00]: He was kind of like the check down answer.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_00]: He was available early, but Lawrence just kept looking down the field.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_00]: Instead of just hitting his guy and then it ended up being a plea.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: I do think that
- 12:01[SPEAKER_00]: in a game that that FOIA Luke and probably would have been called for passenger clearance because he did get to Parker early, but still even with that, or it's probably should have hit Parker earlier.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_00]: So that's where we're at.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: Jack War has got a lot of good news on the injury front today.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_00]: Travis and Tyson appear close.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_00]: Mason Smith, Eric Armstead, Anton Harrison, Tumada, Doga all fully practiced today.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just kind of waiting on why I'm going to get back now and obviously you're still without Kayla Branson, who's week to week, Buster Brown, who's out for training camp, Cole Van Lannin, who's out for training camp.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: That might be it.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: Not a missed somebody, but y'all get the picture.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: Overall, Jack Wars starters looking much healthier than they have over the last week or so.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_00]: So we're in a good place here, especially on the defensive front with Eric and Mason Smith coming back.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know what y'all think in the comment section below.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe y'all have a good one.
