Elly De La Cruz DHs Again | Cincinnati Reds News
Elly De La Cruz returns to the Reds’ lineup as designated hitter against the Padres after missing a game with quad tightness—his fifth DH appearance this season. Hitting .271 with 21 homers in just 118 games, he’s proving himself a clutch power threat when healthy. The move reflects smart team management, balancing performance with injury prevention. Even sidelined, he’s staying connected to the game—watching minor league action last month. The Reds are clearly optimizing his role for maximum impact without risking further strain.
