- 1:09difficulties. Thank you to Wes and our boy
- 1:12Reno for giving us their picks of the week.
- 1:15And it looks like Old Miss is going to drive this ball into
- 1:18the end zone. And if they do that, there's a
- 1:22very good chance this game could be over.
- 1:25Here comes Chambliss held to the three.
- 1:29I think we're a little slower than everybody else.
- 1:30So anyways, let's get into it. I call this segment, or we call
- 1:36that segment in like Flint. My lady, I've often heard that
- 1:40you'd give me a warm welcome if ever we met again.
- 1:45And like flan, flan. Flan All right, ladies and
- 1:50gentlemen, I thought very deep, very hard on how I want to
- 1:54attack this tonight. And tonight we're going to go.
- 2:00My thoughts on the top defenseman in the NHL, Yeah.
- 2:06I mean, Matthew Schaefer is doing things that we've never
- 2:08seen before. And there's a lot of great
- 2:10defenseman. And.
- 2:11And right now the NHL has their leaders and I want to go through
- 2:17them. And I'm going to give you where
- 2:20my leaderboard should be. All right at #10 Chikrin.
- 2:26I know he plays for Washington and he's one of the better
- 2:30Washington players right now. Young, defensively sound and and
- 2:35one of the better point guys in the NHL right now.
- 2:37He has six goals and 27 No, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
- 2:41Fifteen goals and 17 assists defenseman.
- 2:45He's having a great season right now.
- 2:47He's he's been sensational. They have him at 10.
- 2:51OK, so I, I disagree. I'm going to go.
- 2:54This is why I think, I think Eric Carlson is #10I, I, Eric
- 2:59Carlson's been a great defenseman in the NHL for a
- 3:02very, very long time. I remember when Pittsburgh
- 3:04traded for him. Carlson's had a great season,
- 3:07but he's not scoring as many goals.
- 3:09He's got four goals and 29 assists, 33 points, Still one of
- 3:13the better defenseman in the NHL.
- 3:15But I would go, I would flip it. I go Eric Carlson, 10, check her
- 3:19in at #9 at #8 They have Josh Morrissey and another Canadian,
- 3:28another Canadian player, another top defensive player right now
- 3:32in the NHL for Winnipeg. No, it's interesting.
- 3:34Winnipeg's having a bad year, but he's had a really, really,
- 3:37really good year. He's been the best player.
- 3:41Think about that. Their best player is a
- 3:44defenseman right now. He's been their only good player
- 3:47this year. In 30 games, I'm sorry, not 30
- 3:50games. In just a few games, 41 games,
- 3:53he's had four goals and 29 assists for 33 points.
- 3:57He's right there at #8 I think this, this list is pretty good,
- 4:01but they have at #7 Quinton Use and Quinton Use was just traded.
- 4:05I think Quinton Use is a little higher than this.
- 4:08They have him at #7 I would bring him up a little bit.
- 4:12I now the guy that they have at #6 This is where I would put him
- 4:15at #7 high skin in is one of the best defenseman in the NHL,
- 4:18plays for Dallas. Dallas has a ton of talent, ton
- 4:22of freaking talent. This is this is their best
- 4:25defenseman, but they've got like three other defenseman on this
- 4:29roster that's sensational. He's got seven goals and 29
- 4:32assists and 36 points. I I would definitely put him at
- 4:37#7 So that's where I would put him.
- 4:38I wouldn't put him at six. They have Evan Bouchard right
- 4:42now on Edmonton who has had a really, really good last two
- 4:45years. They have him at #4 I bring him
- 4:49down. I think Bouchard is at six right
- 4:53now. Quinn Hughes would be my 4.
- 4:55Bouchard would be my 6th, and I think at #5 Darren Reddish would
- 5:02be there as well. So that's where I would have it.
- 5:05So I kind of flipped Bouchard with Quinn Hughes.
- 5:07Quinn Hughes would be at 4:00 at #3 they have Hudson, Lane Hudson
- 5:14now I'd stay Lane Hudson at #3 I they have Warrensky at number #2
- 5:22I think I would keep this all where they were right now.
- 5:24Car #1 burwansky #2 Lane Hudson #3 now I know everybody.
- 5:31Everybody would say where's Matthew Schaefer?
- 5:33Matthew Schaefer right now on the on this on this list is
- 5:36number 16. I would move Matthew Schaefer up
- 5:41to 11 or 12. I wouldn't put him in my top ten
- 5:44right now. When I was looking at the
- 5:45defense and I, me and fish were talking about this over the last
- 5:48couple of days, I I wouldn't put Schaefer in the top 10 yet as he
- 5:53continues to grow as a player. I think he's going to get up
- 5:57there in the top 10 by the end of the season.
- 5:58But right now for a rookie, he's doing an unbelievable job with
- 6:0229 points. I just don't think, I don't
- 6:04think he's there yet. I want to mention two guys that
- 6:07are outside of the top ten thing on this list too.
- 6:09Darlene is one that I think I would move into my top ten and
- 6:12most side are two for the Red Wings.
- 6:14Is that 13 on this list? I would put him in the top. 10 I
- 6:16see him over there too. So I I think the list is pretty
- 6:21you know it's pretty good I I mean I would move a couple I
- 6:23couldn't use is is definitely in the top five.
- 6:26I don't know why they haven't, and I understand this.
- 6:28This is a list of goal scoring and points and stuff like that.
- 6:32But Quinn Hughes has been and I couldn't believe Vancouver
- 6:36traded. I couldn't believe Vancouver
- 6:38traded. That has one toxic front office.
- 6:40I was shocked when they did that, but what a slam dunk going
- 6:45over there to Minnesota, right? That's where.
- 6:47You went Yep, we thought they were either going to trade
- 6:49Caprice off this offseason. They gave him a huge.
- 6:50Contract now they. Just tried for use.
- 6:53Minnesota's up and coming, man. Oh yeah, Minnesota's going to be
- 6:56dangerous. But Quinn Hughes is is one of
- 6:58the top five defensive. I met Quinn Hughes when he was
- 7:01drafted that year. He was drafted by Vancouver.
- 7:04When you meet him off skates, he's not a tall man.
- 7:07He's not a tall guy. I also met Jack Hughes.
- 7:10I was at both Quinn Hughes and Jack Hughes is draft.
- 7:14Jack has big legs. When he was drafted I met Jack.
- 7:18His legs are huge like tree trunks.
- 7:20Not a tall guy. He's like they say he's 6 foot.
- 7:22I would say he's more like 59510 with off skate office skates.
- 7:27Quinn use Quinn use is probably like 5859 office gates.
- 7:32They're both very small guys. They're not tall guys, so both
- 7:36sensational players. Jack is in top ten when
- 7:39healthy's top ten player right now in the NHL and Quinton uses
- 7:43is a top top five defenseman in the NHL and their brother,
- 7:47probably the worst out of both of them is still figuring things
- 7:50out. I think he eventually is going
- 7:52to he's going to move up in the defensive side of the puck
- 7:54because he's he's one of the one of the young talented defenseman
- 7:58in the that the New Jersey Devils has.
- 7:59So they're. Just stuck in a really bad
- 8:00defense system. It's a really bad system and and
- 8:04New Jersey is going to have a chance at McKenna in the
- 8:06offseason. So New Jersey, could you imagine
- 8:09McKenna and use on the same? They had Hester #1 Hughes #1.
- 8:13Could you imagine that that? 'D be 3 in 10 years.
- 8:15How? Sick.
- 8:16That would be McKenna. So how would how would you put?
- 8:20Would you put McKenna and use on the same line?
- 8:22I don't know. I don't think so, I would
- 8:25imagine. Would you, would you move views
- 8:28to the the winger? On the power play, yeah.
- 8:30But I I think you would want to like try to formalize a top 6,
- 8:34like be really strong. On, you know, it's because it's
- 8:36interesting. There's a lot better defenseman
- 8:39than I thought they were going. You know, when I looked at this
- 8:41list, I'm like, wow, there's a lot of good defenseman me and
- 8:44Fish were talking about. Where do we put Matthew Shaffer?
- 8:48Matthew Shaffer is definitely in the top 15.
- 8:50I, I, they have him 16. He's a top 15 player.
- 8:53He's been sensational, but a lot of these guys have had great
- 8:56season so far and Matthew Shaffer is a young kid.
- 8:59In the future, Matthew Shaffer will be a top three player.
- 9:02You can tell that he's going to be, but he's not quite there
- 9:05yet. I know a lot of people want to
- 9:07believe that he is, but he really isn't.
- 9:09I wanted to believe that he was. And then I look at this list,
- 9:11I'm like, he's not anyways, all right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 9:16that was in like Flynn and now off the crossbar we're losing.
- 9:23They're very much alive. Old time hockey on old time
- 9:27hockey you're you're listening to off the.
- 9:31Crossbar bar. Off the crossbar, here's the
- 9:35Japanese anime. You told me how into anime you
- 9:38were in the. Brain.
- 9:40So I wanted to make sure you had some anime, one Speedy.
- 9:43When I wrote it into AI, it said draw a wispy mustache on Speedy
- 9:48like he has in real life. And this is what they came up
- 9:50with for you. Your hair is so luxurious it
- 9:52goes through your helmet. In case you didn't know that in
- 9:55AI hockey. Here's angry anime version right
- 9:58here. Off the crossbar, guys, we have
- 10:015 different things we're going to talk about in hockey related
- 10:04to New York, New Jersey, tri-state area type sports and
- 10:09it's going to be in our usual whip around format.
- 10:11Here we go with our first one for Off the crossbar.
- 10:18All right. It started bigger than yours.
- 10:21With the New York Rangers, you were just mentioning a bunch of
- 10:24defenseman. Errol, my favorite one, wasn't
- 10:29on that list because he's been hurt all year.
- 10:32He's not top and hasn't played all that great in a while.
- 10:34He's top 15. Yeah, he's definitely tough.
- 10:36Well, but. Here's the thing, he's was top
- 10:39three not that long ago and he's not playing top 15 because he's
- 10:44hurt and he keeps getting hurt and he's now out, probably going
- 10:47to be going on his second month out.
- 10:49They're saying it's probably going to be a month.
- 10:51He got hurt at the end of a shift, no one even saw it and he
- 10:54just ended up on the IR. They saw Sturk and get run into
- 10:57though by JJ Paterka who just they allowed to just crash the
- 11:02crash in the all game and he looked like he'd suffered a non
- 11:05contact injury. In hockey they never tell you
- 11:08what it is. I'm assuming it's MCL so it
- 11:11looks like it was not great. I'm assuming it's a four to six
- 11:14week type of deal. But as a goalie and butterfly I
- 11:17would imagine that takes a little bit longer than in other
- 11:20types of positions. So Errol, when you when you
- 11:24think about it, you know the Rangers are already 4th worse in
- 11:29the entire Eastern Conference. Is it time to sell?
- 11:33No. And I, I think that the Rangers
- 11:36the game, first of all, all the teams are so close together and
- 11:39the Islanders are only like 5 or 6 points ahead of the Rangers.
- 11:43So the Easter conference is so very close.
- 11:45It's not like the Western Conference when you have two
- 11:48like 3 best teams are like just. All the same division.
- 11:51Yeah, are absolutely killing everybody.
- 11:53If Colorado has like 70 points already, you have you have
- 11:57Dallas who has like 50 something points and then you have
- 12:02Minnesota, Minnesota that has like 50 something points.
- 12:04So those are the three best teams in the Western
- 12:06conferencing. And and, and again, then I would
- 12:09be a seller if I'm looking at, if I'm on at the tail end of the
- 12:13Western Conference because then you only have like what, 5 spots
- 12:16to fill And a lot of the middle mediocre Western Conference
- 12:20teams are pretty damn good, especially Edmonton is going to
- 12:23pick up. Edmonton is eight points behind
- 12:24Minnesota. Yeah, so I think that if you
- 12:28were in a Western Conference, I would sell, but in the Eastern
- 12:31Conference I wouldn't. I think that the Rangers
- 12:33obviously going to have to get better goaltending because they
- 12:36haven't had a lot of it this year.
- 12:37Now, I'm not blaming Stark and I'm blaming the defense.
- 12:40I'm also blaming that the change of, you know, change of pace
- 12:43you're bringing in a new coach and Sullivan, Sullivan is a is a
- 12:47very well respectable coach in the NHL.
- 12:50He also has a different style of defense.
- 12:51He brought a different style of defense to the Rangers.
- 12:53So I think it's going to take a little while and I don't know if
- 12:56the Rangers have the right players to run that defense.
- 12:58So I I do believe that the Rangers have enough talent to
- 13:02keep afloat and I still think the Rangers could squeak in as
- 13:06an eighth or seventh seed in Eastern Conference.
- 13:08So am IA seller? No, as a matter of fact, I think
- 13:12if I was the Rangers, I'd be more of a buyer and I expect
- 13:15Drury to be a buyer at the trade deadline.
- 13:18So no, I I'm a buyer. Yeah, it's you're it's kind of a
- 13:20weird spot because you've seen Jonathan Quick do well as a back
- 13:23of goalie for the Rangers in certain stretches during Peter
- 13:26Lovie let's first season. And I think if you could trust
- 13:29that in a larger sample, the Rangers could win enough.
- 13:32It just yeah, the defense has not been there.
- 13:33They're still trying to develop a guy like Matthew Robertson
- 13:36who's looked good at times, Braden Schneider's been good,
- 13:38but you don't really, you're not really trusting a lot of that
- 13:41back end defense. And that's where I think it
- 13:43could hurt with somebody like quick that again, you're going
- 13:45to have to play in a lot higher of volume to do at this point.
- 13:48And that's why I think the Rangers, I think they're in that
- 13:51weird in between right now. They have good, good farm
- 13:53system. They just have a really bad
- 13:54player development system. And you saw Brandon, Brandon
- 13:57Hoffman was a guy that was a top prospect for a while.
- 13:59Now he's kind of falling out of grace with this new coaching
- 14:01staff. And that's where I think the
- 14:03bigger issue is, it's not as much the piece that they have.
- 14:07All right, let's move on to the next one related to this because
- 14:10the Rangers, they played tonight and they played another New York
- 14:15team. Not this, not that close away.
- 14:18It's a 5 1/2 hour drive. I made that drive many times
- 14:20going to college at University of Buffalo back in the day.
- 14:23This graphics now no longer accurate because now Buffalo has
- 14:26won 12 of their last thirteen games.
- 14:30They have been absolutely dominant this year.
- 14:34The Rangers not so much as dominant.
- 14:37I would say even when Schisturkin was playing well and
- 14:40he plays well, they're still not winning.
- 14:43They're not looking like they're a playoff team.
- 14:45Even with those guys, unless they got lucky.
- 14:49I just don't really know how you could look at two teams that are
- 14:53further away from each other in the same state that are going in
- 14:56opposite directions as much as they can be.
- 14:58Errol, it looks like the Rangers, they have, they're just
- 15:01starting to find the bottom. They're not there yet.
- 15:04And the Sabres are, you know, they've been hanging out in that
- 15:06dweller that that cellar as that cellar dweller.
- 15:11The longest playoff drought in sports right now.
- 15:14I was in college when they were the Presidents Cup champions
- 15:18that year when they faced the Yoga Rangers and I was at that
- 15:23game five that Drury. I know.
- 15:25Tied up with 7.7 seconds left or they stopped, they tied it up
- 15:29and then they won in overtime and it was devastating.
- 15:32They beat. Hank and Yoga I I will say this,
- 15:36congratulations to Tage Thompson making Team USA finally the
- 15:39United States team actually made the right decision.
- 15:42This guy's one of the best players in the, he's been one of
- 15:45the best goal scores for Team USA for, I don't know, the last
- 15:48four years. This guy's a sensational player
- 15:50and he proves it year in and year out.
- 15:52He's had a great year and he still has a lot more left in
- 15:55him. Sabres have Darlene.
- 15:57He's like you said, speedy. He's one of the top 10.
- 16:00You could you put him in your top ten?
- 16:02He's he's a two way, you know, two way player.
- 16:05I was at his draft as well when he was drafted #1 by the Sabres.
- 16:08And he's been sensational. He really has been.
- 16:11This whole team. If you look at the roster,
- 16:13they're starting to develop. You have Jason Tucker, Alex
- 16:17talk. They, they have all these guys
- 16:19all they have a tremendous amount of talent from first line
- 16:24all the way to the the fourth line.
- 16:26They got bangers on the fourth line.
- 16:27They haven't had a good team like this in about 15 years.
- 16:31I remember the teams. What Michael Pecker, remember
- 16:33that team? Speedy, I don't even feel like.
- 16:35I wasn't alive. Matthew bought Matthew Barnaby,
- 16:38Dominique Kashik, that team that was a that was a good team with
- 16:43an all around a talent talented team.
- 16:46That was the last time I can remember.
- 16:48It was sensational. So I, I think that the Buffalo
- 16:52Sabres are only growing as a team and you see that the
- 16:55Eastern Conference is wide open this year.
- 16:58It's not just the teams on the top like Carolina or the
- 17:01Islanders right now. It's wide open.
- 17:04And I it's going to come down to the end.
- 17:06So a lot of these teams are not going to be settled.
- 17:08Carolina is, is obviously going to be up there with Rob
- 17:11Brindamore and they, they, they're, they're always going to
- 17:13be known as no goaltending. They're going to have to,
- 17:16they're going to have to figure that out in the playoffs.
- 17:18But Washington, who was one of the best teams in the league
- 17:21last year, have fallen off. I expect them to be a lot better
- 17:24in the second-half of the season.
- 17:25So the Sabres are playing good hockey right now, and they have
- 17:29a tremendous amount of young talent.
- 17:30Yeah, the trend last year was a lot of those young teams got
- 17:33finally really got good. I what made the playoffs last
- 17:35year? Montreal.
- 17:36Those are a lot of that ripple effect of a lot of young teams
- 17:38now. It seems in like Buffalo's time
- 17:40now. There's still, again, there's
- 17:41still some question marks with their defense.
- 17:42There's just some question marks at times with their goaltending.
- 17:45But they have a lot of former #1 prospects.
- 17:48It got like Owen Power was a number one pick in 2021.
- 17:51They traded for Bowen Byram, who was a you were at that draft,
- 17:54too. Errol, the Colorado top five
- 17:56pick. And I was at a lot of drafts,
- 17:57yeah. Got traded over there.
- 17:58Alex Tuck was the big piece of that Jack Eichel trade and he
- 18:01was a #1 prospect when he was in Minnesota.
- 18:03So they definitely have a lot. Of I've seen a lot of first
- 18:06round draft picks come and go out of the NHL just as fast.
- 18:09Yeah, they have definitely. If they can get the goaltending,
- 18:11they get the depth on defense, they could definitely do it.
- 18:14The thing is with the Sabres, though, they always have this
- 18:15one big streak, usually at the beginning of the year, and then
- 18:18they fall off. So you just have to hope they
- 18:19avoid the bad losing streak. But they're going to be in it to
- 18:22the end as long as they avoid. That.
- 18:26All right, let's stop making me depressed talking about, you
- 18:30know, the Rangers futility and how good the team across.
- 18:33I used to have to deal with all their fans how good they are
- 18:37once again. Well, here's other teams to talk
- 18:40about when we are going taking shots off the crossbar.
- 18:44Here it is. There was a great game Errol
- 18:47Highlanders fan that happened the other day.
- 18:50The Islanders humiliated the Devils, who keep losing.
- 18:55By the way, Speedy, you're going to have to tell me the exact
- 18:59number of games that they've lost in their last 10.
- 19:02They've they've lost six of the last seven since since he was
- 19:06came back from injury. Which you would think would be
- 19:09the opposite of what would happen, that you would think
- 19:11that when your best players come back from injury that you get
- 19:14better. But it appears things are
- 19:17spiraling out of control in the swamps of Newark, NJ While, you
- 19:23know, Matthew Shaffer, your buddy Bo Horvath, Yep, seems to
- 19:28be doing pretty well out on the island.
- 19:32Oh, yeah, I will say this. The Islanders are playing great
- 19:35hockey. They're getting offense.
- 19:37Remember, they lost Kyle Palmeri, who was one of their
- 19:39leading goal scorers early in the season, tearing his ACL and
- 19:44how he tore his ACL, you probably see one of the greatest
- 19:46passes you'll ever see at the end of it's probably his tenure
- 19:52with the Islanders because I don't know if he'll be back next
- 19:54year. When you tear your ACL at the
- 19:56age that Kyle, Kyle Palmieri is, he's Kyle Palmieri is like 33
- 20:01years old. So I don't know how much time he
- 20:03has left. So to tear your ACL, ACL at that
- 20:07type of at his age, I don't know how much hockey is going to have
- 20:10left. But losing him, Beau Horvitz
- 20:12taking a step forward and Lou Lamarel.
- 20:14Oh, looks like he's a genius because he made that trade.
- 20:16A lot of Islander fans were questioning it.
- 20:18They gave up prospects. They gave away draft picks.
- 20:21Well, guess what? That never turned to anything.
- 20:23Vancouver's falling off in the Islanders.
- 20:25Bo Horvat's one of the lead goal scorers right now in the NHL.
- 20:29He's playing the best hockey he's played with the Islanders.
- 20:32You have Matthew Schaefer, who's one of the best young, talented
- 20:34players we've seen come out since Sidney Crosby or even
- 20:38Connor McDavid. It's been unbelievable what
- 20:41Matthew Schaefer is doing, breaking defenseman records.
- 20:44I mean, it, it, it's been so fun to watch.
- 20:46But Matthew Barzell's having a great year.
- 20:49They're getting a lot of goal scoring.
- 20:51They're they're third line Sezikis, they're Druin, they
- 20:54brought in, they're getting the kid Hyman Hyman who they traded,
- 20:59traded for with the part of the Montreal trade to get to 2 first
- 21:02round draft picks. So I mean, they're getting
- 21:05they're getting goal scoring in many different areas.
- 21:07And Patrick Wah, where a lot of people were questioning Patrick
- 21:10Wah and his development of youngsters.
- 21:12Well, guess what, Patrick Wah has been sensational.
- 21:15He's going to be up for coach of the year.
- 21:17There's no question that he is. And when, when you have a new
- 21:21GMA young GM come into place and, and not pick his own guy
- 21:25and not go after his own coach and sit and sit on Patrick Wah
- 21:29and give Patrick Wah an opportunity says a lot about
- 21:31what he thinks about Patrick Wah.
- 21:33Patrick Wah is one of the greatest goalies of all time, if
- 21:35not the greatest. And, and the way he's coached
- 21:38his team has been sensational. I, I, there's really nothing to
- 21:40say by the way. So Roki just came back, shut out
- 21:43the Devil's 9 to nothing. If Sorokin is playing at a high
- 21:46level, I I don't think this team has many weaknesses and their
- 21:50defense is it went from one of the worst defenses in the league
- 21:54to one of the top 10 defenses in the NHL right now.
- 21:57So it's been sensational to watch.
- 21:59Yeah, I was a skeptical with you with Patrick Wah at the time,
- 22:01especially what happened last the end of last year with
- 22:03Anthony declare too. It looked like he was losing
- 22:05that team. Then all of a sudden now you're
- 22:06looking at guys that are troubled past too look at.
- 22:10All three of these guys. Declare Drew Anne and Tony
- 22:13D'Angelo, all three guys with troubled pasts and getting him
- 22:17to buy into this system, getting to buy into a lot of these young
- 22:19players. You mentioned Hyman, Hyman, 13
- 22:21goals already this year. It was part of that young
- 22:23Montreal. Team they lost tonight.
- 22:25Yeah, and Horvat, which sometimes he's had a lot of
- 22:28assists and face offs, but sometimes he's had some iffy
- 22:30goal scoring years with the Islanders since he's come over
- 22:32there 21 goals already. This year is.
- 22:34Insane. And you mentioned.
- 22:35He has a chance to score 40 this.
- 22:37Year and Schaefer like already playing like a elite defenseman
- 22:40at such a young age. It's just it's changed a lot
- 22:43with this Islanders team, what it's supposed to be.
- 22:44The Devils, on the other hand, they're going to the opposite
- 22:46direction. I think it's because of Jack
- 22:48Hughes's injury. You could see how one player can
- 22:51change everything. He's a marketable player, but
- 22:54the guy can't stay healthy. If you look at Jack Hughes, his
- 22:56career since he's come into the NHL, even playing two Team USA
- 22:59hockey, they I remember talking to John Van Biesburg and he said
- 23:02that Jack Hughes is one of the greatest young players we've
- 23:05seen come out of United States hockey.
- 23:06But he said he's got to stay healthy and and the problem with
- 23:10Jack Hughes since he's coming to the league, think about it, he's
- 23:12been a league for how long? Five years.
- 23:14This is year 6 for him. Now, all right, so six years
- 23:16he's been injured, 3 out of the six.
- 23:18That is alarming. And when the Devils put a lot of
- 23:21money into him and they've, like you said, they've got a lot load
- 23:25of draft talent and draft stock of young players that have not
- 23:29developed the way we would have thought they were going to
- 23:31develop. Everybody thought that the
- 23:33Devils were going to be a top three in the Eastern team Easter
- 23:36Conference this year again. And what happens, Jack Hughes
- 23:39goes down, could be out a significant portion of the
- 23:42season, and they're falling down and they're one of the worst
- 23:44teams in the NHL, right? Now that's what I was going to
- 23:46get to with the young prospect development, especially on the
- 23:48defensive side. Luke, who's like you were saying
- 23:49before, it has not developed as well as he should have some own.
- 23:52Pandemic the other one too and #2 overall pick in that 2022
- 23:55draft has not developed at all. You mentioned like injury
- 23:58unlock. They've actually been lucky with
- 23:59Dougie Hamilton staying healthy, which has been a problem for
- 24:02them in years. Past and now they just can't get
- 24:04a lot from him. He's just aging and their
- 24:06offense, they're not getting depth pieces either with that
- 24:08offense. It's really only Hughes brat.
- 24:10Jasper Brats had a nice year and he sure, and that's really it.
- 24:13All right, so you're talking about points, so let's talk and
- 24:17take a look. We're around the middle of the
- 24:18season right now for most of the guys.
- 24:21So what are what are the point scores looking like throughout
- 24:25the league? Well, I'm going to share my
- 24:27screen real quick and we're going to put it up and you're
- 24:30going to take a look with me right now at it.
- 24:34And oh boy, are we having an interesting one.
- 24:38In fact, you know what? I'm just going to make this back
- 24:40the old school way, close it and bring it back up this way.
- 24:46Well, we know Connor Mcdavid's up there.
- 24:50So Connor McDavid, of course, you know, is, I mean, he's been
- 24:54incredible his entire. How about dry side?
- 24:56Surprising, but take a look at that.
- 24:58Take a look at him and McKinnon at the the clip that they're
- 25:01scoring at is out of control. It's over a point and 1/2 per
- 25:05game, right? If you're at 42 games and you're
- 25:08at 7484 points is 2 points per game.
- 25:11So the two of them right now are at like 1.61.7 points per game,
- 25:17which is just an absurd clip. We haven't really seen that in a
- 25:20long time. McKinnon has 35 goals at this
- 25:25point. Celebrini, second year, 24
- 25:29goals, 43 assists for the Sharks.
- 25:32Obviously a big part of the reason why they're so successful
- 25:35and turning their fortunes around.
- 25:36Kucherov keep doing it. He's just still doing it.
- 25:39He's killing people. He's played fewer games. 61
- 25:43points. Dry Sidle 60.
- 25:46I mean, if you got, if you're playing with could.
- 25:48You imagine that you have two of the top five players in the
- 25:52league. How weird is?
- 25:53That and you get to center ice them too.
- 25:55Yeah, which is just sick. Just sick.
- 25:57It's just disgusting. It is ranting in playing on the
- 26:01wing this year. 59 just looking down.
- 26:04Dallas has three guys from 6 to 10 with Robertson and Johnston.
- 26:09I just want to bet you because it's a coincidence, 6 and seven.
- 26:11The Carolina Hurricanes don't look very good based on that.
- 26:15I think we all kind of knew that wasn't a great move at the time.
- 26:19So let's take the first defenseman, of course, is Makar.
- 26:2312 goals. Could you imagine?
- 26:25Could you imagine ranting in still on Colorado?
- 26:28Could you imagine that? How sick that would be.
- 26:32They just didn't have the money, you know?
- 26:33It's crazy. And then he goes to Carolina,
- 26:35and Carolina's going to afford them.
- 26:37So they, they and they trained. Nature's to get him and nature.
- 26:40'S a top 10. Yeah, it's it's ridiculous.
- 26:42So they literally gave up the 6th and 7th point getters and
- 26:46what do they get out of it? Speedy.
- 26:48Absolutely nothing. That's an embarrassment.
- 26:51The GM really should get fired for stuff like that.
- 26:53I'll tell you who's a genius. Joe Stakik.
- 26:56And let's take a look at the goalies right here.
- 26:59Goaltending. So goals against average.
- 27:03I'm sure you're not surprised that both Colorado goaltenders
- 27:07are at the top of this. Not surprised.
- 27:09And #4 next Colorado goaltender. Right.
- 27:12You know it. If we go down, we have a bunch
- 27:15of backups here, but we got Vasilevsky.
- 27:19I mean, I don't know how old he is at this.
- 27:20What a comeback he's been. Doing it forever, What a
- 27:22comeback. He came back from having a
- 27:24couple of down seasons. Look at him, 2.34914 save
- 27:28percentage as a shut out this year.
- 27:31Good for him. Tampa Bay Lightning fans, I, I,
- 27:34I really struggled with them when I lived down there.
- 27:37They obviously faced the Rangers and destroyed the Rangers.
- 27:39It was at that game where they got murdered by like 6 goals.
- 27:43It felt like they're that they might not be good baseball fans.
- 27:48They're surprisingly good hockey fans in Tampa.
- 27:51I got to give them credit for that.
- 27:54So take a look at the rest of this.
- 27:55You got Shusterkin, who's not going to be playing.
- 27:57He was doing right there, but right behind Sarokin for the
- 28:01Islanders. They were kind of identical in
- 28:04numbers. Sarokin a little bit better, say
- 28:06a percentage then Shusterkin. Do you want to take a look at
- 28:10any of the guys that are really struggling?
- 28:12Or we could say that for another.
- 28:13Time. No, we don't need to.
- 28:14We don't really need to look at. Anything the league in shutouts,
- 28:17though, is Sorokin. Yeah, and I think we needed to
- 28:20mention that. Also, Walsted in Minnesota.
- 28:23They're having a fantastic year. Bob Roski, I'm sure no one's
- 28:26surprised. And Gustafson and Hofer.
- 28:29I will I will say that for all you island defense, Sorokin is
- 28:32is finally coming back to normal.
- 28:35Sorokin had that back surgery if people forget two years ago and
- 28:39it takes about two years to get back to your normal self.
- 28:43Now Sorokin is still not there yet, but if we could get
- 28:46Sorokin, if the Islanders can get Sorokin, Surokin even at 80%
- 28:51for the rest of his career, the Islanders have a chance to win
- 28:53Stanley Cups and, and they have a great goaltender.
- 28:56And I'm not saying Susterkin's not a good goaltender.
- 28:58I just don't know if he's worth 11 and a half million dollars.
- 29:01The Islanders paid Surokin, what was it, 9 million and, and, and
- 29:06Chesterkin's making like 2 and a half million more.
- 29:09And, and to me they're almost identical goal tenders.
- 29:12So the Islanders got a steal for Surokin and the the Rangers have
- 29:17the highest paid goalie in the NHL.
- 29:19They're making He's making $2,000,000, more even than
- 29:21Connor Hellebach, who just won the Hart Trophy last year.
- 29:25It's a lot of money. It's a lot of money that the
- 29:27Rangers have invested into a guy that might not play for another
- 29:30four to six weeks. So, and that's not his fault.
- 29:33I'm not blaming him, but it's it's kind of scary and alarming
- 29:37to the Rangers, especially if they think or James Dolan thinks
- 29:41that the guy that's going to save the organization is the guy
- 29:45that I mean, has drafted and honestly wrong and honestly
- 29:51hasn't developed court, you know, players or even picked the
- 29:54right coaches over the last couple of years.
- 29:56I, I like Peter Laviolette. I would not have fired Peter
- 29:58Laviolette, but some of the things that this organization
- 30:01has done has you shaking your head.
- 30:04They're yeah, they're like a big market team.
- 30:06That's just they, I'm not saying they're they're dysfunctional or
- 30:09like terribly wrong, but they're like for a team that has all
- 30:12this hype, all this leverage, and they just do some strange
- 30:15things like the Leafs do like a couple other teams like.
- 30:17That. Yeah, Speaking of shaking your
- 30:20head, ladies and gentlemen, this story is just alarming to me.
- 30:24ESPN reports that the Hawks have traded Trey Young to the Wizards
- 30:28for forward Corey Kispert and veteran guard CJ McCollum.
- 30:34Reports mentioned that Trey Young telling the Hawks, the
- 30:36organization, and the organization that the Wizards
- 30:40were his preferred trade destination despite them being
- 30:44the second worst team in the Eastern Conference.
- 30:46That's because nobody wanted this guy.
- 30:48McCollum is on the last year of his contract worth about 30.5.
- 30:53While Young has a player option after the season worth about 49
- 30:57million. McCollum is averaging 18.8
- 31:00points per game, 3.5 rebounds per game, 3.6 assists per game
- 31:05in 35 games this season for the Wizards.
- 31:08If Young OPS into his contract, the Wizards will owe him $95
- 31:13million over the next two seasons.
- 31:16Reports say that the Hawks also traded traded Young with hopes
- 31:21of making another big trade at the trade deadline, with Anthony
- 31:25Davis being their main target. Young is averaging 19.3 points
- 31:30per game, 1.5 rebounds per game, 8.9 assists per game, but has
- 31:35only played 10 games this season after missing time with an MCL
- 31:40spring. Reports say no other team really
- 31:44showed interest in Young, no duh, leading him to be traded in
- 31:49what amounts to mostly a salary dump or a for a former All Star.
- 31:55Young has still been effective offensively as recently as the
- 32:01last as last season when he led the league in assists per game.
- 32:06But his defense and lack of effort has led the Hawks, who
- 32:11once traded Luka Doncic for him at draft at the draft night, to
- 32:16move on from their former point guard.
- 32:21Trey Young is not a likable person.
- 32:24He's not. And nobody would have thought
- 32:26that the Knicks would make a move for him because we all know
- 32:28that the Knicks fans can't stand them.
- 32:30Madison's great guard and couldn't stand them.
- 32:32We remember the time when quite a few players have said their
- 32:37thoughts to Trey Young when he gave the finger, really gave his
- 32:40finger to the New York Knick fans.
- 32:43I, I don't believe there's a lot of teams interested.
- 32:45I was very surprised Miami wasn't interested in them.
- 32:48Miami could use another superstar.
- 32:49Pat Riley's looking for another guy to bring in.
- 32:52They wouldn't have given up much to get him.
- 32:54Maybe Tyler Hero for a guy like Trey Young.
- 32:57And then you got to, you put them with, you know, a couple of
- 33:01a couple of players, couple of bigs that they have over there
- 33:04in Miami and they could maybe be a contending team in the Eastern
- 33:08Conference or maybe a top six, top seven team in the Eastern
- 33:12Conference. I, I just here's the thing.
- 33:15Trey Young still has a lot left in him.
- 33:18He's 27 years old. A lot of people tried to compare
- 33:20him to Steph Curry when he came into the league.
- 33:22His ability to shoot and, and, and, and dribble and, and
- 33:26control the, the pace of the game.
- 33:27I just think that the problem with him is he's got a big
- 33:31mouth. He says a lot of things on and
- 33:33off the court that makes people wonder if he's all about the
- 33:36team and he's not about himself. You know why Washington was the
- 33:39number one target for him? Because he knows he's going to
- 33:42be the number one player on that crappy team.
- 33:44He knows that he's going to get the ball.
- 33:46He's going to shoot 35 times every single game and be the
- 33:51prolific 40 point goal, you know, scorer that he wants to
- 33:54be. He wants to make that Max money
- 33:56and he only has two years left on his deal.
- 33:59He'll be 29 years old when he becomes a free agent and he's
- 34:02all about the money. I never liked Trey Young when he
- 34:04came out of the draft. I couldn't believe that the
- 34:09Hawks traded trade, you know, for Trey Young to give up Luka
- 34:13Doncic. I remember the Hawks were
- 34:15sitting at #5 and they, they traded the rights for Luka
- 34:19Doncic for Trey Young. It made absolutely no sense.
- 34:22Lukas become one of the top three players in the league.
- 34:24You can see what he Luka was traded last year for a bowl of
- 34:28bags. Think about it.
- 34:29The two guys that were traded for each other were traded for a
- 34:32bowl of, you know, a bag of balls.
- 34:34That's what they were. I cuz people were shocked when
- 34:37Luka had to trade deadline was traded last year and traded for
- 34:40nothing because, you know, the Dallas Mavericks are a stupid
- 34:43organization and the same thing with the Hawks.
- 34:46The Hawks traded him for CJ McCollum, who's an old CJ
- 34:49McCollum. He's still a good player, but
- 34:51McCollum is like a off the bench type of player.
- 34:53He's averaging 18 points because he's playing as a starter on a
- 34:57Hawks team that's not that good. So I, I, I, I mean I'm not a for
- 35:02Wizards team that's not that good.
- 35:03So I, he was like, he was a guy that was shooting like like 2020
- 35:08something times a game. So he's going to give you 18
- 35:11points. I, I, I, I look at a guy like
- 35:13Trey Young, he's going to give you probably 30 to 35 points a
- 35:17game because he's going to be chunking up threes and doing
- 35:20what Trey Young does best. Now.
- 35:21Is he going to give you more wins?
- 35:23100% This doesn't make any sense for the Hawks.
- 35:26I mean, not for the Hawks, for the Wizards, because the Wizards
- 35:29right now has they're, they're sitting there if they're at
- 35:348:00, if they're drafting in the top 8, they're protected with
- 35:38that pick. If they fall out of the top
- 35:40eight, that pick goes to the Knicks.
- 35:43And now you add Trey Young to your roster, that's going to
- 35:47make you now the estimating number that they're going to win
- 35:51in total. Annie, Trey Young, the experts
- 35:54are saying between four and five games, that four or five games
- 35:58could put them out of the top 8. Think about that.
- 36:02There are a lot of bad teams in the Eastern and Western
- 36:04Conference team. You know, in the Eastern and
- 36:06Western Conference, if you look at it from top to bottom and it
- 36:10like it, like you were saying fish, the Wizards are sitting
- 36:13like 3rd or 4th. But in the Western Conference
- 36:16there's about four bad teams in it.
- 36:18So 4 bad teams in a Western Conference and the other teams a
- 36:21little bit ahead that are sitting there on top of have
- 36:24maybe two or three more wins. I, I mean, think about it this
- 36:28way. Trey Young, that trade for Trey
- 36:32Young might have made the Wizards better, but might put
- 36:35the Wizards in a really, really bad position because this draft,
- 36:39which could be the best draft since the LeBron James draft
- 36:42with some of the talent that's coming out from Europe and even
- 36:46out of this year's. And we heard we have what's his
- 36:48name again on Purcell says he says this is the best draft in
- 36:52the last 15 years, maybe 20 years.
- 36:55And now the Knicks aren't laughing to the bank.
- 36:59They're laughing to the bank because the Knicks right now,
- 37:03they're hoping that Trey Young makes the Wizards a little bit
- 37:06better where they fall out in this lottery draft out a 9 or
- 37:1010. And the Knicks could have a top
- 37:1210 lottery pick or Top 14 lottery pick where they wouldn't
- 37:15be because of all the trades that they've made over the last
- 37:18past two years, that trading, trading with the Nets and, and,
- 37:22and, and moving with Karl Anthony Towns.
- 37:25I mean, this is this is a great move that could help the New
- 37:30York Knicks in their future. So slam dunk.
- 37:32Thank you to the Wizards for making this trade and Bah humbug
- 37:38for the Hawks. So.
- 37:39Yeah, it's very weird. Knicks fans off the roof for
- 37:42Trey Young to try to get that draft, as weird as that sounds,
- 37:44but it. Doesn't make any sense it.
- 37:46Makes no sense for the Wizards. I like it for the Hawks a lot
- 37:48because I actually think the Hawks are better off because
- 37:51they have. A lot more depth with their
- 37:52young players this year than we've seen in previous years.
- 37:55And I think somebody like Trey Young that shoots up a lot and
- 37:58is inefficient with the ball is something that hinders the team
- 38:01value because even though the Hawks have a lot of guys that
- 38:03are scoring in double digits right now, Jaylen Johnson, we
- 38:05talked about it a couple weeks ago, having this breakout year.
- 38:07We talked with Purcell about him being the rising star.
- 38:10You have also other guys like the Keela, Alexander Walker
- 38:12that's played well. Their number one pick is Zach
- 38:14Rashire, still trying to find and get it going, but he's
- 38:16played a lot better. But I think having Trey Young
- 38:19there, which turns the ball over, shoots up threes and
- 38:22misses a lot of threes this year especially.
- 38:24Oh, we knew about Jaylen Johnson.
- 38:26Yeah. I remember you knew him about it
- 38:28as a dookie at the time and how good he was and you were
- 38:31complaining. I think Shire's first year or
- 38:33something, he wasn't getting enough minutes or something and
- 38:35now he goes, he falls in the draft.
- 38:37Because of that, too, the Hawks I think got him at 16 or 17.
- 38:39He's turned into a nice player. He's a star now.
- 38:41I think they have a better chance to thrive with these
- 38:43other players. With these other you.
- 38:44Bring Anthony Davis there and you get a top, I would say top
- 38:4815 pick with this draft class. I mean, a Hawks are playoff team
- 38:52next year. Yeah, because not to be a
- 38:54playoff team this year. Purcell was talking about it too
- 38:56like the the Pelicans pick they have too could become really
- 38:58good if the right circumstances play out.
- 39:00So this is the team that is going to get young in a core
- 39:03together all at once. Then you if you do trade for
- 39:05Davis, you have him and porous Ingas is your veteran.
- 39:07Big, big. It's been said they're moving.
- 39:09They're going to get Anthony Davis.
- 39:12It's not just a rumor. Now Anthony Davis has been
- 39:15wanting to be traded to either Chicago or the Atlanta Hawks.
- 39:18So, and I think he has family that lives in Atlanta and that's
- 39:21one of the reasons why he wants to move there.
- 39:22And he's a rapper. So Atlanta, you know, ATL.
- 39:26So I, I, I think it makes a lot of sense for him to go over
- 39:30there. And with the young talent that
- 39:31they have, I, they could be a playoff team with Anthony Davis
- 39:35there, Porzingis, Anthony Davis Johnson.
- 39:38I mean, this team is, is pretty good now.
- 39:41Yeah. And it's CJ McCollum who's a
- 39:42good veteran who's going to add some veteran personality to that
- 39:46roster. I think they're going to be put
- 39:48in a really good position. And, and Trey Young, of course,
- 39:51he wanted to go to the Wizards because they're the only team
- 39:53that had any interest in him. Nobody else in the league had
- 39:56any interest in Trey Young. I wonder why?
- 39:59Yeah, now he has joined up some other washed up veterans and
- 40:01Chris Middleton. And Marvin Bagley.
- 40:04You know those teams never work though, Errol, when you put a
- 40:07bunch of over 30, you know, used to be superstars together, now
- 40:11are just good players in the league and you hope that you
- 40:14know it, it turns into something and they'll lead the second year
- 40:17player from France to the to the promised land.
- 40:22Better this year, but it's still.
- 40:23Not great, no, it look and you can't expect them to be.
- 40:27So what are they really trying to do?
- 40:29You know, I, I don't, I don't think they're there yet.
- 40:32To try to go all in on Anthony Davis seems like a mistake
- 40:36considering what we've seen from him since he was traded to
- 40:39Dallas, which is nothing. He's good when he's out there,
- 40:43but. Or he's a Nico Harrison.
- 40:44Model of audition. But here's the reason why I
- 40:46think it would work. Over there.
- 40:47You have Anthony Davis and Porzingis.
- 40:49You have them on the court together.
- 40:51Will they play 82 games combined?
- 40:54How do they have to but. But here's the thing.
- 40:56Yes, they do. They got to play at least a half
- 40:58a season to get, you know. Yes, but here's what I'm
- 41:01thinking. If they could sneak into the
- 41:02playoffs, the size difference and the size advantage that the
- 41:07Hawks would have, even if they go in as a like a play in team,
- 41:11I would want to play the Hawks. If I have to play Anthony Davis,
- 41:13if he's somewhat healthy and poor Zingis and the players that
- 41:16they have and Johnson the way they're playing, I would not
- 41:18want to play the Hawks. Well John Johnsons impressive
- 41:21because he got hurt last year tour.
- 41:23I think he was a labrum and missed the rest of the season
- 41:26and then he came back and he looks the same.
- 41:29He was on his way to be like the breakout player last year.
- 41:32He was averaging a little bit under what he's doing right now
- 41:36and right. And it was just so obvious to
- 41:38the Hawks that they need to build around him, get rid of the
- 41:41cancer that is Trey Young. But they did it for nothing.
- 41:44It kind of reminds me of of the years ago when Stephon Marbury
- 41:49would sit at courtside at Knicks games after he would.
- 41:52I would watch him be on YouTube eating Vaseline and the Knicks
- 41:55let their star player turn into such a depressed asset that he
- 41:59lost his mind and he would sit. He paid for his own ticket to
- 42:02Heckle his own team. That was worse.
- 42:05But to get literally an expiring contract for the guy you traded
- 42:11Luka Doncic to get on draft night, it's an embarrassment.
- 42:15And Washington, guess who their GM is?
- 42:17The guy that drafted, that made the trade, he's now the
- 42:21Washington GM. So now that's why he.
- 42:23Wants put him out, I say. He's not giving up on Trey
- 42:27Young. Well, the rest of the league
- 42:29has. Though Well, thank you, thank
- 42:31you to him because you might have just saved the New York
- 42:34Knicks and and this year's draft.
- 42:36I mean, think about it this way. He this taking a cancer on might
- 42:41give them five or six extra wins that can help the Knicks get the
- 42:45Washington. The Knicks got screwed with that
- 42:48Porzingis. And by the way, it's funny
- 42:51because Porzingis is kind of, he's not a part of this trade,
- 42:54but he's playing for one for the teams that was a part of for
- 42:58this trade. So think about it.
- 42:59Porzicus is playing for Atlanta. And who would have thought that
- 43:03the fact that Trey Young goes to the Wizards could be the reason
- 43:07why the Knicks get a lottery pick this year?
- 43:10Because the Wizards are a stupid organization.
- 43:13And they said, you know what, we got a chance to get Trey Young
- 43:16and get a little bit better and now we're going to screw
- 43:18yourself with a lottery pick so. Yeah, officially makes no sense.
- 43:22Full circle 11 dumb GM makes makes the trade with this for
- 43:26Trey Young and then the other one.
- 43:27This might be this might be worse than Luka Doncic, OK.
- 43:32It's it's a really dumb trade for both sides.
- 43:35Like I I just don't actually like why you would risk.
- 43:37I like it for the Hawks. But like if, I mean, I guess,
- 43:41but you're not getting like you really think Mccollum's going to
- 43:44tip, tip the scales, No. No, but I think you're going to
- 43:48move. Kispert, he's not going to
- 43:49money. He's not going to Hock shots.
- 43:51Though it's it's the money thing too.
- 43:53If they're going to flip Kispert for a pick in this draft, then
- 43:56that's a really smart. Move.
- 43:57That's probably what they're. Going to do that?
- 43:59That's what they're going to do. There's no room for him.
- 44:01Anyway, they have a lot of forwards that's.
- 44:03Probably exactly. So it's just a strange deal that
- 44:06he cost so little to get because I thought A-Team like the Nets,
- 44:11you know, the Brooklyn Nets, they haven't had a guy that that
- 44:14really deserves it. They're trying to let the kid
- 44:17demon do it. And he has his moments, but
- 44:19like, they're terrible. They're almost unwatchable.
- 44:23They they almost won this game where he banked the shot in and
- 44:26then Bouncero banked it in on the other side to defeat them.
- 44:29Just how the Nets are losing these.
- 44:30I think that ever since they changed the coaches over there
- 44:34with the Atlanta Hawks, Trey Young has not felt comfortable
- 44:37being over there. And I think he's had a problem
- 44:41with some of the players on the roster.
- 44:43I've heard off the court, even his locker, I've heard that he
- 44:47doesn't even want to. You know, some of the guys that
- 44:49were sitting right next to him didn't want to sit right next to
- 44:51him in the locker room. So he was just creating so many
- 44:55disgruntled players in that young players in that locker
- 45:00room that didn't want to deal with him anymore and they had to
- 45:02move on from nobody wanted him, so they had to do whatever they
- 45:06can. He wanted to go to the Wizards
- 45:07and I'm telling you the only reason why he wanted to go to
- 45:09the Wizards is because he knows he is the number one guy there.
- 45:13He is going to get the ball, he's going to shoot the ball,
- 45:16he's going to hog the ball and he's going to ruin that team.
- 45:19The only thing that he's going to help US Knick fans be happy
- 45:22about is give them a couple more wins to maybe give the Knicks
- 45:26the Wizards draft pick, which we've been waiting for.
- 45:28Detroit screwed us, LA, the Clippers screwed us.
- 45:31Everybody screwed us with these these unprotected first round
- 45:35Jeff picks. And finally, maybe the Knicks
- 45:39will win in the best draft over the last 15 years.
- 45:44Actually get a lottery pick and get a good one because if I have
- 45:49Worldwide West and Leon Rose picking in the top ten and at 9
- 45:54or 10 or even 12 and this draft in a stock draft, I am betting
- 45:59that the Knicks are going to get themselves a nice fit in player
- 46:04that can help this team win for many, many years to come.
- 46:07I I think this is this is a great this is great for Knick
- 46:10fans. You should be excited, excited.
- 46:12I'm a I'm a Wizards fan the rest of the year, so there's no
- 46:15doubt. Let's go, wizard.
- 46:16Knicks fans got through for Trey Young.
- 46:17I just want to bet you before we move on, Errol, are you saying
- 46:20because Trey Young was uncoachable with all these other
- 46:22coaches, you're actually defending your boy Nate
- 46:24McMillan? 100% a hundred.
- 46:26I can't stand them. I know I couldn't stand Nate
- 46:29Mcmillion million and every time he went to Madison Square Garden
- 46:33in the playoffs, his ugly face, that stupid face that he made
- 46:36and even when he was I, I, where would he?
- 46:38Where did he put the SuperSonics too?
- 46:41He comes from the SuperSonics. He played for the SuperSonics.
- 46:43I couldn't stand him as a player.
- 46:45I couldn't stand Nate McMillan and I couldn't stand him as a
- 46:49coach and his big mouth and what he said about the Knicks and he
- 46:52couldn't stand the Knicks organization.
- 46:54Good. We couldn't stand you and we
- 46:56can't stand Trey Young. I am so happy Trey Young went to
- 46:59the Wizards, and I'm rooting for you, Trey.
- 47:01I'm rooting for you because what you're going to do for us is
- 47:05give us a lottery pick. And I could say F you.
- 47:09F you to the Washington Wizards, the LA Clippers, the Detroit
- 47:14Pistons. Oh yeah, and the Dallas
- 47:17Mavericks on teams that have screwed us over the years on
- 47:21unprotected picks. I can't stand that.
- 47:25The NBA needs to fix that garbage.
- 47:27Anyways. We call the final segment.
- 47:30What's that smell? Hold on, what is that smell?
- 47:33What's that? Smell.
- 47:39Wow. You don't see that every day.
- 47:42All right, ladies and gentlemen, it's just us four.
- 47:44It's very simple. We're going to give you a story
- 47:47and we're going to tell you what it smells like after we just
- 47:50gave you the Trey Young story, which smells like it smells like
- 47:53Rosie's for us, us Nick fans smells better than that.
- 47:56I I'm smelling Ilio's pizza right now because I'm a pretty
- 47:59hungry, even though I have a stomach ache.
- 48:01Let's go. Here we go.
- 48:03Here we go. We're going to go speedy.
- 48:05We're going to go Tommy. Fish me.
- 48:08Here we go. All right, so I'm going to start
- 48:09off in hockey. We've been talking a lot of
- 48:10hockey. This last.
- 48:12Few hour of the show, I'm going to go to the Jordan Biddington.
- 48:16We're not wanting to be pulled from the game against the
- 48:18Blackhawks after allowing seven goals.
- 48:21And then after the game they, him and his coach claim that,
- 48:25oh, the headset wasn't working. So Joel Hofer didn't know to
- 48:27come in the game then? They said Joel Hofer.
- 48:30I know he's Joel Hoper, who fish you had on one of the your
- 48:33goalie list before was in the top ten, was having a Goodyear.
- 48:35They were trying to have him coming in the game and he wasn't
- 48:37ready because they didn't know. So Jordan Benningtick comes off
- 48:39and looks like he said. Do you make the Canadian team?
- 48:42I don't know. I hope he didn't.
- 48:43I hope not, but yeah, he's he's the number 2 goalie essentially.
- 48:47How about Miami winning? Yeah, how about Miami winning
- 48:51coming back? Down.
- 48:52Yeah, so I was paying attention while you were you guys were
- 48:55doing it. Just want to let you know,
- 48:56Carson Beck, it was down in the goal line for some reason, Ole
- 49:00Miss ran man and which is normal on the goal line, but the D line
- 49:04didn't contain the quarterback. It was like the easiest
- 49:07touchdown anyone's ever scored in an entire life.
- 49:09He got to laugh his way into the end zone.
- 49:11But then Chambliss got the ball back and did like the the Aaron
- 49:15Rodgers back in the day thing and drove him down on three
- 49:18plays to the 25 yard line or 30 yard line and they had one
- 49:22chance to win and they didn't get it.
- 49:24Pretty impressive the game by both teams.
- 49:27They both deserve to be there. Kudos to Ole Miss doing that
- 49:30with half a coaching staff. So if it's Miami versus Oregon,
- 49:33it'll be the Mario Christopher revenge.
- 49:35Game but I had Miami. I think it's I he's excellent.
- 49:37My prediction was, and I don't want to hurt Indiana fans.
- 49:41I had Miami and Oregon going to the championship game over the
- 49:45last couple of days. I kind of put it together.
- 49:47I have Oregon and and it's funny, before we get back into
- 49:50it, we had Reno, Johnny and Worldwide W.
- 49:54They have them on the money line, so they're pretty sure
- 49:57that Oregon is a better team than Indiana.
- 50:00So it'll be fun. It'll be something to watch
- 50:03tomorrow to see how this game plays out.
- 50:05Yeah, the three of us are on Ole Miss.
- 50:06I was. You were on Miami, guys.
- 50:08I was on Miami. I had Oregon, so we'll say I had
- 50:11Oregon, Ole Miss originally. But to finish up my what's that
- 50:13smell? Yeah, he was kind of
- 50:14complaining, Jordan Bennington being pouty, as he usually is,
- 50:17of not wanting to come out of the game.
- 50:18So what does that smell like? It smells like Jordan
- 50:20Bennington's pot potty mouth because he was the only one when
- 50:23I edited those interviews, Errol, that used some swear
- 50:25words during the interview. Lulu.
- 50:28His potty mouth making out with that smelly shoeless guy you saw
- 50:32at 7-11 in Vancouver. Oh disgusting guys opening the
- 50:37door I get I get to Vancouver and the first thing I see with
- 50:40my Uber driver is could can I stop at 7:11?
- 50:43I walk out and this guy opens the door with no shoes on, no
- 50:47shoes on, and his pants ripped to his ankles.
- 50:50I I, what is this? I walk up to the thing.
- 50:53I'm like, where the hell am I? Vancouver.
- 50:57Thank you, Canadian. All right, well, we're
- 51:02mentioning a little bit about Miami.
- 51:03Let's go. And by the way, I'm going to
- 51:04Montreal in a couple of days. Speak of speak of the devil,
- 51:11Hopefully you put on some shoes for your.
- 51:12I hope I don't see that in Montreal.
- 51:15I'm not going. I'm not going into 711.
- 51:17I got sick, All right, So we were just I like annual
- 51:21congratulations to Miami. Now going to the national
- 51:23championship. Let's talk about a Miami tight
- 51:25end that's currently in the NFL. I'm trying to play this.
- 51:28I don't know why it's not playing.
- 51:31Okay, for whatever reason, it's not playing, but I wanted to
- 51:35talk about for my, what's that smell?
- 51:37We had David and Joku. There we go.
- 51:39I don't know what was happening there, but we had David and Joku
- 51:41over here. Signing a fan's stomach in the
- 51:44season. The season finale sounds like a
- 51:46good time. Now.
- 51:47What I thought that was actually kind of funny about that was the
- 51:49way I don't know if you see right there until the end.
- 51:51He kind of does the little, the little like little squiggles
- 51:55underneath his name and everything.
- 51:57But yeah, it's definitely not the weirdest thing that people
- 52:01have had signed. I've seen other people give
- 52:03people a toaster or you know, I know the titties.
- 52:06Titties are a common one to have signed or even you know, you
- 52:09know, if I I got a chance, they meet to Sean Watson.
- 52:12I whip my thing out and tell him to sign it.
- 52:17Josh Watson. All right, well.
- 52:21On that note, what does it smell like?
- 52:23Well, it smells like the cesspool massage, this slash
- 52:27massage parlor, whatever you want to call that organization
- 52:31over there in Cleveland because outside of 1 gemstone and that
- 52:34being the one who just broke a record, Miles Garrett, that team
- 52:38is an absolute cesspool. That entire franchise and
- 52:40organization is a cesspool. So what does it smell like?
- 52:43It smells just like that. And the cesspool.
- 52:45And the massage rooms. So I mean, I just made this
- 52:47inadvertently. Analytic I needed to blow up.
- 52:52You want to talk about cesspools, guys?
- 52:55The Ottawa Senators had to put out a statement today.
- 52:58I'm going to read it to you. Our organization was extremely
- 53:02disappointed to read the completely fabricated and false
- 53:05stories that are spreading around social media about our
- 53:08hockey club. Linus, meaning Linus Almark, is
- 53:12away from our team for personal reasons and he has the entire
- 53:16organization support. We ask that people respect his
- 53:19privacy, but clearly that request was not heard by the
- 53:22lowest forms of trolls and sick people who scour the Internet.
- 53:27We are disgusted that outside forces are attempting to disrupt
- 53:31our hockey club. This statement will put an end
- 53:33to the ridiculous speculation that has spread online.
- 53:37That's from Steve Staios, former player and president of hockey
- 53:41operations and GM. What is he talking about?
- 53:44Oh, I got to look that one up. I don't know if you did.
- 53:48What an interesting story. So here's the rumor.
- 53:52Apparently Hallmark always came home from Rd. games and outed
- 53:57guys who cheated on their wives to his wife.
- 54:01Lo and behold, he had a side chick himself who ended up
- 54:05calling his wife outing him. Then his wife outed all the
- 54:10players cheating on their wives to the other wives right before
- 54:16Christmas. That's the rumor that led to the
- 54:22statement for the Ottawa Senators.
- 54:26Oh my God, what does that smell like?
- 54:29I I looked up what's the worst smell in Ottawa?
- 54:32Apparently they have some pretty smelly train stations.
- 54:35But I think it smells like a bunch of Axe body spray and
- 54:39cheap Cologne. Dude.
- 54:40Because that is a really, really bad way to ruin not only your
- 54:45own personal relationships, but perhaps your entire team and
- 54:49organization. And that guy is this guy won the
- 54:54he was the best goalie in the league at one point I.
- 54:58The Bruins won the President's Trophy that.
- 54:59I'm, I'm not surprised because has anybody looked at hockey
- 55:03players, wives? I mean, they're absolutely drop
- 55:05dead gorgeous. They're the sexiest out of all
- 55:07the wives. I mean, you look at NBA, you
- 55:10look at NFL and then you look at NHL.
- 55:12I've been to NHL, you know, award shows.
- 55:15It's ridiculous. It is as so why would you cheat
- 55:19on your wife? Like I mean on what?
- 55:22There is no reason to cheat on your wife.
- 55:25Has anybody seen Ovechkin's wife?
- 55:28Go check out what Alexander. Go look at what Alexander
- 55:32Ovechkin's wife looks like. She's unbelievable.
- 55:35I mean, he looks like a goofy, no teeth, Gray headed, you know,
- 55:40Warthog and and she looks like a prissy, you know, supermodel.
- 55:45We said that with one of our guests.
- 55:46I think Alexander Ovechkin's dentist the best.
- 55:48Job, dude, the hockey players have the hottest chicks.
- 55:51I I'm not. I don't, I don't care what
- 55:52anybody says. I've been around so many
- 55:55different baseball players, basketball players, football
- 55:58players, nobody. I I've never seen hotter chicks
- 56:02than hockey wives. So why are you cheating on them?
- 56:05Makes no sense. But I did because of power and
- 56:08because of money. That's what it's all about.
- 56:10All right, My final watch that smell goes to is something sad,
- 56:12which is got it. This is somebody that I was
- 56:15looking forward to seeing at the Olympics.
- 56:17American snowboarding star Chloe Kim said Thursday that she took
- 56:23the silliest fall in training, dislocating her shoulder and
- 56:28threatening her for a chance to win her third straight gold
- 56:31medal next month at the Winter Olympics in Italy.
- 56:35I don't know if anybody seen it, but it was a horrible fall and
- 56:40the fact that she just dislocated her shoulder, I mean,
- 56:43it looked like she, the way she landed, it looked like she could
- 56:46have died. OK, It was a horrible fall, and
- 56:51this could threaten her because you dislocated when you're
- 56:53spinning around. And it could affect her,
- 56:56obviously competing at the snowboard competition this
- 57:00coming Winter Olympics, which is next month in February, right
- 57:04after the Super Bowl. This is a horrible, horrible
- 57:07story. Chloe is one of the biggest
- 57:09superstars right now in American, you know, Winter
- 57:12Olympics. Everybody's looking forward to
- 57:15getting a chance to watch her get her third straight gold
- 57:18medal. So it's horrible.
- 57:20What does it smell like? It smells like, I don't know.
- 57:23It smells like Tommy poops. Taking a dump and leaving it
- 57:28sitting in a toilet for more than 24 hours.
- 57:31That's what it smells like. That would be a terrible smell.
- 57:33What do you think of roses? That's what it smells like.
- 57:36Your shit smell like roses. That would smell like absolute
- 57:40roses. I wouldn't.
- 57:41I couldn't imagine somebody leaving their crap in a toilet
- 57:44for 24 hours. That would be pretty nasty.
- 57:47That would be nasty. I mean, I've done it before.
- 57:49Just so everybody knows it was an accident.
- 57:52It was an accident. I'm glad you made sure that it
- 57:56was just so everybody knows. Yeah, well, it was an accident
- 57:59that happened a couple of years ago just so everybody.
- 58:02Well, but here it is. It was an accident.
- 58:04I took a shower. Well, so shit, shower, shave,
- 58:08right? You ever heard that saying I
- 58:10took a dump and I forgot to flush?
- 58:13And then, you know, Brittany came back the next day and she
- 58:17was about to go to the bathrobe. It was like at 5:00 in the
- 58:21afternoon. And she opens up to a a nice
- 58:24little, you know, a nice little piece, you know, and she said
- 58:32that you should have flushed that log down the toilet.
- 58:40Anyways, that's our show ladies and gentlemen.
- 58:43Thank you to Wes. Thank you to the one and only
- 58:46guy we call Reno, Reno, Johnny for giving us their picks.

- 58:5590s. It's up in a long time coming
- 58:58from Miami and Miami Hurricane football and they're going to
- 59:03get a chance to play either the Hoosiers, all the Ducks.
