Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: To teas in a pod with Teddy Mellencamp and camera judge.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Hey, guys, welcome to another episode of the Twatzi.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Today we have Sena Shay from.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Vander Pump Rules and she wrote a book. So she
- 0:26Speaker 2: has a new book, her memoir My Good Side. It's
- 0:29Speaker 2: set to release in July. She also just participated in
- 0:33Speaker 2: season thirteen of The Mass Singer as a character bat.
- 0:37Speaker 2: She performed Sabrina Carpenter's Espresso. So let's bring Sena in.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Hello girl, Hello Shina, how are you doing.
- 0:46Speaker 4: I'm good.
- 0:47Speaker 5: I just got back from four days in Palm Springs.
- 0:50Speaker 4: It was nice.
- 0:51Speaker 5: My daughter's on spring break right now, so went out
- 0:54Speaker 5: there for a few days and just enjoyed the time.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Now you have a second home in Palm Spring, Pump Springs,
- 1:00Speaker 2: pomp Desert.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Which one is it?
- 1:02Speaker 4: Palm Springs, Palm Springs? Yeah?
- 1:04Speaker 3: Do you'd love it so much out there?
- 1:06Speaker 4: I do.
- 1:07Speaker 5: It was the best purchase I've ever made. It was
- 1:09Speaker 5: twenty nineteen. I had no idea, you know, fast forward
- 1:12Speaker 5: a year that we would actually be living in it
- 1:14Speaker 5: in a pandemic, and it's the best, such a good escape.
- 1:18Speaker 5: It's far enough but close enough that we could go whenever.
- 1:21Speaker 2: So we've often thought about buying a Palm Springs. We
- 1:23Speaker 2: ended up buying a Big Bear. But we were out
- 1:26Speaker 2: there for the Indy car in Indian Wells.
- 1:29Speaker 3: I'm like, I kind of want to buy a place
- 1:31Speaker 3: here too.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Yeah, it's so nice, it really is.
- 1:35Speaker 2: And you know I've told you this when I saw
- 1:37Speaker 2: you at Crystal's party. I'm obsessed with watching Brock do
- 1:42Speaker 2: all the home renovations.
- 1:43Speaker 5: Yeah, so that's why we were out there too. He
- 1:46Speaker 5: just redid my backyard there. We had so much wasted
- 1:49Speaker 5: space of dirt and rocks and just like cactus and whatnot,
- 1:54Speaker 5: and so we replanted a palm onto.
- 1:57Speaker 4: The side and then he added all of this turf.
- 1:59Speaker 5: So we have a massive area that was just wasted
- 2:03Speaker 5: and dirt that now our daughter can have a splash pad,
- 2:06Speaker 5: a bounce house, whatever.
- 2:07Speaker 4: So he got that done.
- 2:09Speaker 2: And it looks you are so lucky that he could
- 2:11Speaker 2: do all that stuff.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Now I know, I save so much money.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Yeah, my husband is like, can you screw in a life? No,
- 2:18Speaker 3: I'm joking. He can do things, but not necessary.
- 2:22Speaker 2: He tries. It's one of those like let me watch YouTube,
- 2:25Speaker 2: and I'm like, no, that I'm hiring somebody.
- 2:28Speaker 5: Yes, now, it doesn't off anyone for anything he wants
- 2:32Speaker 5: to do at all, But I also want everything done quickly,
- 2:36Speaker 5: so I'm like, okay. Well, he's like, I want to
- 2:38Speaker 5: build outdoor furniture. I'm like, okay, but I want outdoor
- 2:40Speaker 5: furniture tomorrow. So I'm just gonna want to And that's
- 2:44Speaker 5: very tricky. You have to be extremely talented to be
- 2:47Speaker 5: doing that. I know we still want to do a
- 2:50Speaker 5: nook in the house, but I think he's going to
- 2:52Speaker 5: bring in someone to help with that just because of
- 2:54Speaker 5: like the cabinets and stuff. He doesn't feel one hundred
- 2:57Speaker 5: percent confident building.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Now, how is Summer Moon doing? And do you want
- 3:02Speaker 2: a second?
- 3:04Speaker 4: So funny you ask that.
- 3:07Speaker 5: This morning he actually went to pick up the tank
- 3:11Speaker 5: to then go to where my frozen eggs are at
- 3:15Speaker 5: the facility my doctor is no longer at put the
- 3:18Speaker 5: eggs in the tank, and then take the tank back
- 3:20Speaker 5: to my doctor's new office. So that's step one in
- 3:25Speaker 5: a very long process. We're not ready, I'm at least
- 3:29Speaker 5: not ready yet. We have to go the surrogate route.
- 3:32Speaker 5: It's not smart for me to try and get pregnant again.
- 3:36Speaker 5: Especially about to turn forty. I'm already high risk. I
- 3:40Speaker 5: got help syndrome. The chance of that in miscarriage is
- 3:44Speaker 5: just way too high. So if we do, it would
- 3:48Speaker 5: be a surrogate. But I'm like, okay, step one, get
- 3:51Speaker 5: the sperm tested, move the eggs over.
- 3:53Speaker 4: That's as far as I can go.
- 3:56Speaker 5: And then we might make some embryos sometimes this year.
- 4:00Speaker 4: But I'm not ready. We have such a.
- 4:03Speaker 5: Great little family unit US three right now, and she
- 4:07Speaker 5: is just crushing everything.
- 4:08Speaker 4: She's in jiu jitsu.
- 4:10Speaker 5: She's amazing with that, and I'm not ready to change
- 4:16Speaker 5: our family unit just yet.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I understand that. So let's talk about mass singer. Yes,
- 4:24Speaker 2: tell me everything like beginning to end. Like I've heard
- 4:29Speaker 2: like stories that they're so secretive there there's no lakes
- 4:33Speaker 2: at all.
- 4:34Speaker 3: Ever.
- 4:34Speaker 4: Oh it was crazy.
- 4:36Speaker 5: It's one of the most fun and scary things I've
- 4:40Speaker 5: ever done. I loved the secrecy of it because you know,
- 4:44Speaker 5: I gotta be in this costume. I gotta come out
- 4:46Speaker 5: and just do my high kick and have all this
- 4:49Speaker 5: confidence and no one knows who I am. The singing
- 4:54Speaker 5: part of it made me so nervous because I sing
- 4:58Speaker 5: live over a track usually with an auto tuned mic
- 5:02Speaker 5: unless I just up on the bar it, sir, and
- 5:05Speaker 5: you know there's no autotune mic. But I'm always over
- 5:08Speaker 5: a fully mastered track mass singer. I mean, sure they
- 5:13Speaker 5: have like the backing track, just the music, but your
- 5:16Speaker 5: vocals are live. All of the comments I've seen of
- 5:19Speaker 5: people being like, what in the auto tune, I'm like, no, no, no,
- 5:22Speaker 5: that is my voice. So that was scary because also
- 5:26Speaker 5: during that time I was dealing with acid reflex. My
- 5:29Speaker 5: voice is already not I'm not a well trained vocalist.
- 5:33Speaker 4: I am not good.
- 5:35Speaker 2: I just I just got acid reflex. So the first
- 5:37Speaker 2: time in my fifty seven years of living, I had
- 5:40Speaker 2: to I'm like, I keep coughing, my my voice is hoarse.
- 5:44Speaker 2: I went to the ante and he put like a
- 5:46Speaker 2: scope down my nose into my throat, and I'm like,
- 5:50Speaker 2: he's all, it's acid reflex.
- 5:51Speaker 3: I'm like, am I dying?
- 5:53Speaker 2: What's going on?
- 5:53Speaker 3: He's like, it's acid reflex.
- 5:55Speaker 5: And of course, you know, everyone who listens to the
- 5:57Speaker 5: podcast or whatever when I'm talking about this wants to
- 5:59Speaker 5: die knows me. I had someone tell me I probably
- 6:02Speaker 5: have throat cancer. At another person tell me it's probably
- 6:04Speaker 5: my thyroid. All of these things I'm worried about, and
- 6:07Speaker 5: so I finally it was a few weeks before I
- 6:09Speaker 5: got the offer for the show that I had gone
- 6:12Speaker 5: to the doctor. I was on medication, but my voice
- 6:15Speaker 5: still wasn't back yet. So I was doing all of
- 6:18Speaker 5: the things. I was steaming my voice several times a day,
- 6:21Speaker 5: drinking throat cook tea. I had my giant Stanley cop
- 6:25Speaker 5: just filled with lukewarm water. I was doing all of
- 6:28Speaker 5: the things to try and have my voice be the
- 6:30Speaker 5: best it could be. And after I got sent home
- 6:34Speaker 5: the first night, I was so disappointed. It did a
- 6:38Speaker 5: number on my confidence because I felt like, wow, like
- 6:42Speaker 5: I really was giving it my all and I felt
- 6:44Speaker 5: like I did good. And then to just hear them
- 6:46Speaker 5: say bat and I'm.
- 6:47Speaker 4: Like, hold on, is my India correct? Like I think
- 6:51Speaker 4: he just said bat? He did not mean to say bat.
- 6:53Speaker 5: And it was so hard to then have to go
- 6:56Speaker 5: back out, take the mask off, perform put a happy
- 7:00Speaker 5: on when I was so sad. I felt like my
- 7:02Speaker 5: second song was so much stronger, it was better suited
- 7:05Speaker 5: for my voice. I loved the performance. I was going
- 7:08Speaker 5: to be on a motorcycle. I came out a motorcycle.
- 7:12Speaker 5: I do like a high kickoff the motorcycle. The choreography,
- 7:16Speaker 5: I was going to go down into a full split,
- 7:18Speaker 5: but then they had me finishing on a platform, so
- 7:20Speaker 5: I'm like, okay, we'll do like half a split. And
- 7:22Speaker 5: I had this great ending position and I didn't get
- 7:26Speaker 5: to do any of that, and I was so bummed.
- 7:28Speaker 5: And then I realized it just kind of recently after
- 7:32Speaker 5: watching it back, that getting sent home first, I felt
- 7:35Speaker 5: like did a number on my confidence and just like,
- 7:39Speaker 5: I don't want to say I was depressed, but I
- 7:41Speaker 5: think it put me in a bit of a depression
- 7:44Speaker 5: where I was like, I kind of stopped working out.
- 7:47Speaker 5: It was then the holidays and then months passed, and
- 7:50Speaker 5: you know, when you missed the gym for a while,
- 7:53Speaker 5: it's so hard to get back into it. And yeah,
- 7:57Speaker 5: watching it back, I'm like, you know what I did
- 8:00Speaker 5: pretty good.
- 8:00Speaker 2: I thought you did great. I thought I thought you
- 8:03Speaker 2: made four episodes?
- 8:06Speaker 3: Did you? Were you on four episodes?
- 8:09Speaker 4: That's the one just I thought it was four.
- 8:11Speaker 5: Oh no, that it was episode four of the season.
- 8:15Speaker 5: But they do three groups, so I was the first
- 8:19Speaker 5: and the first to go home in my group, so
- 8:21Speaker 5: it was the fourth episode of the season, so I
- 8:23Speaker 5: wasn't like the first first, but it was the first
- 8:25Speaker 5: in my group, which was such a bummer because if
- 8:28Speaker 5: I would have went home after week two, I would
- 8:30Speaker 5: have been like done. I did my best, Like it
- 8:32Speaker 5: was a great experience, so fun, and the other people
- 8:35Speaker 5: in my group, three of them are like really good singers,
- 8:39Speaker 5: Like I knew I wasn't going to get probably past
- 8:42Speaker 5: week two.
- 8:43Speaker 4: But also it's not a singing competition. It's a guessing game.
- 8:45Speaker 5: I'm like, but it kind of is because some of
- 8:48Speaker 5: these people on the show. I'm like, I guarantee the
- 8:50Speaker 5: two people left in my group are recording artists, Like
- 8:54Speaker 5: they are so vocally trained you could just tell.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Well, I don't think that's fair. I think it's the
- 8:59Speaker 3: same situation Dancing with the Stars.
- 9:00Speaker 2: You're putting professional people that know how to dance and
- 9:03Speaker 2: dance the whole life. It gets somebody like, let's say me,
- 9:06Speaker 2: who has two left feet, Like that's not fair. Not
- 9:09Speaker 2: that they're asking me to be on the show or anything,
- 9:11Speaker 2: but I can saying well, you never know. But back
- 9:15Speaker 2: to like you saying like you haven't worked out that
- 9:17Speaker 2: is kind of depression, Like I am somebody that's there
- 9:21Speaker 2: five days a week. In the past six weeks since
- 9:24Speaker 2: Teddy got diagnosed, I can't. I can't muster the energy
- 9:28Speaker 2: to even go to the gym and just like work up.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Yeah, it's off.
- 9:33Speaker 5: And I feel like I'm turning forty in five weeks,
- 9:39Speaker 5: and I went from wanting to plan this huge party
- 9:42Speaker 5: to now I'm like, I don't know, like we'll do something,
- 9:46Speaker 5: but I'm like, I wanted to go into forty feeling
- 9:49Speaker 5: the best I've ever felt, looking off and like I'm
- 9:52Speaker 5: not there. But I'm like, all right, I've got five weeks.
- 9:55Speaker 5: I got to get my shit together because I want
- 9:57Speaker 5: to feel good going into forty, going into you know,
- 10:01Speaker 5: whatever projects happened.
- 10:02Speaker 4: This summer book tour.
- 10:05Speaker 5: I want to be able to just have my stylist
- 10:07Speaker 5: pool anything and I feel good in it. So that's
- 10:10Speaker 5: my next few months is to just get my shit together.
- 10:14Speaker 3: It's gonna happen. Trust me.
- 10:16Speaker 2: I was in the worst place to have been, in
- 10:19Speaker 2: the worst place in my life, and I literally got
- 10:21Speaker 2: a ted talk from Teddy that's just like, if I'm
- 10:25Speaker 2: doing this, you can do it, you bet. Because it
- 10:27Speaker 2: has been very difficult for me to film the season.
- 10:29Speaker 3: You go out there, you kick ass, you do that.
- 10:32Speaker 2: If I have to do this, you have to do that.
- 10:33Speaker 2: And I'm like, it really sparked me. And you you've
- 10:37Speaker 2: gone through a lot of hits, like you've been on
- 10:39Speaker 2: a show for over a decade and now that show
- 10:42Speaker 2: has been recast and then but you are on the
- 10:44Speaker 2: Bellley right.
- 10:45Speaker 4: Yeah, so I'm a friend this season. I don't know how.
- 10:49Speaker 5: I mean, I've filmed a lot, you know, I was
- 10:51Speaker 5: around a lot. You never know what they're going to
- 10:53Speaker 5: use or how the storylines are going to be.
- 10:56Speaker 4: Yeah, it was. It was fun.
- 10:58Speaker 5: And all of the people, not all most our genuine friends.
- 11:03Speaker 5: These are like my mom friends, and this is when
- 11:06Speaker 5: we're all neighbors and a bunch of our kids go
- 11:09Speaker 5: to school together.
- 11:10Speaker 2: So yeah, it's a perfect fit. It is a perfect fit.
- 11:16Speaker 2: And even if you're just a friend this season, I
- 11:18Speaker 2: see it, you know, going into full time and that
- 11:21Speaker 2: show is so good.
- 11:23Speaker 3: It's so good.
- 11:24Speaker 5: Yeah, I like the season two hasn't even aired yet,
- 11:27Speaker 5: Like they're going to get a season three.
- 11:28Speaker 4: I know it because I lived it.
- 11:29Speaker 2: And for sure you're gonna get You're gonna get Dance
- 11:33Speaker 2: with the Stars eventually, you're gonna get traders, You're gonna
- 11:36Speaker 2: be on the valley and all of a sudden, you're
- 11:37Speaker 2: gonna be like like I was when I had two
- 11:40Speaker 2: years off. Why didn't I enjoy those two years off?
- 11:44Speaker 5: You when you told me that a few months ago
- 11:46Speaker 5: when we were talking.
- 11:47Speaker 4: I've been taking that in.
- 11:48Speaker 5: That's what just like going to Palm Springs and just
- 11:51Speaker 5: soaking it all in and enjoying this time with my
- 11:54Speaker 5: daughter because in June she goes to school five days
- 11:57Speaker 5: a week. So I'm just trying to enjoy all of
- 12:00Speaker 5: the downtime I've had because I know this summer with
- 12:03Speaker 5: book tour and everything else, it's going to be really
- 12:06Speaker 5: busy again. So thank you for that advice, because I
- 12:09Speaker 5: have totally taken it and.
- 12:10Speaker 2: D just enjoy that time. Yes, And I also want
- 12:14Speaker 2: to thank you. You are one person that reached out
- 12:17Speaker 2: to me almost every other day to ask about Teddy
- 12:20Speaker 2: and how she was doing and just so concerned. And
- 12:24Speaker 2: I just I told her how many times you reached
- 12:27Speaker 2: out and just thank you so much. So you have
- 12:42Speaker 2: a book coming out, let's talk about it. It's your
- 12:44Speaker 2: memoir My Good Side.
- 12:46Speaker 3: It's coming out.
- 12:47Speaker 2: July twenty second, and it's available for pre order now.
- 12:50Speaker 2: So how do they pre order?
- 12:51Speaker 3: Is it through Amazon?
- 12:52Speaker 5: Is go to my good sidebook dot com and then
- 12:56Speaker 5: they will direct you if you want to buy on Amazon,
- 12:59Speaker 5: if you want to go to Barnes and Noble Premiere.
- 13:01Speaker 5: There are signed copies available on Premiere and Barnes and Noble.
- 13:06Speaker 5: I have two thousand pages I am signing for all
- 13:10Speaker 5: of these books going out, So it's another thing. I'm
- 13:13Speaker 5: about to turn forty and I'm like, okay, now I've
- 13:15Speaker 5: got smile lines that stay, and I feel I'm getting
- 13:19Speaker 5: ritis in my hand, Like you all.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Have carpool tunnel for me now.
- 13:23Speaker 4: I was coloring with my daughter on Christmas.
- 13:26Speaker 5: We got her this like giant cardboard gingerbread house that
- 13:30Speaker 5: we're coloring together, and then I realized. I was like, oh,
- 13:33Speaker 5: I'm kind of getting a cramp. And now we're going
- 13:35Speaker 5: into April and my hand is still not working properly,
- 13:38Speaker 5: so the signature might be a little wonky.
- 13:42Speaker 4: There will be me signed copies.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Talk to me when you get in your fifties.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Oh my god, all kinds of shit I go to
- 13:48Speaker 2: I go into that train you have gurd I'm like,
- 13:51Speaker 2: what the hell is gird? Is that like gout any?
- 13:53Speaker 2: And then I'm like, in the same day, I'm like,
- 13:56Speaker 2: is that do I have tonel fungus? What the hell
- 13:59Speaker 2: is going on? I'm like, God, I'm just falling apart.
- 14:02Speaker 3: I'm starting to give up.
- 14:04Speaker 4: Can you guess is called bird? It just sound of it.
- 14:07Speaker 4: You know, It's like, I don't like that.
- 14:09Speaker 2: I don't like it either, So give us a little
- 14:12Speaker 2: sneak peek of what we can expect for your book.
- 14:15Speaker 5: So, I mean, it literally starts from before birth. I
- 14:19Speaker 5: talk about how my parents met up until December, like
- 14:23Speaker 5: it's really current. I talk about when I got the
- 14:26Speaker 5: call for vander Pump Rules getting rebooted. I definitely spill
- 14:31Speaker 5: a little btst in the book.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Oh, I was just going to ask you that.
- 14:37Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, I I'm sure there will be people
- 14:41Speaker 5: who have opinions about some things that I say after,
- 14:44Speaker 5: but this is my truth, and this is my time
- 14:46Speaker 5: to take the narrative back and to tell my story
- 14:50Speaker 5: from my point of view without people editing it, you know.
- 14:54Speaker 5: I mean, yeah, of course there's a copy editor, but
- 14:56Speaker 5: this is my words. I've read this book more times
- 15:00Speaker 5: than I want to, just making sure like each little word.
- 15:04Speaker 5: I'm like, Okay, I don't like the way this sounds.
- 15:06Speaker 5: Let me rewrite it this way. And it's been a process.
- 15:09Speaker 5: It's been a lot of rewriting things, trying to say
- 15:14Speaker 5: things in a way where I'm not going to offend people,
- 15:17Speaker 5: but I'm still going to tell my truth.
- 15:19Speaker 2: And oh, you're going to offend people, of course, know
- 15:23Speaker 2: is there anything you have to give it away?
- 15:25Speaker 3: But is there anything in there that you're super nervous
- 15:27Speaker 3: about people reading.
- 15:29Speaker 4: Yeah, like a full chapter.
- 15:33Speaker 5: Just things that I finally open up about in the
- 15:36Speaker 5: book that probably would have been on season twelve of
- 15:39Speaker 5: vander Pump Rules, but you know, not getting that opportunity
- 15:43Speaker 5: now maybe season three of The Valley. But I just
- 15:47Speaker 5: wanted to put it all out there, every single aspect
- 15:52Speaker 5: of me, the things I'm most insecure about. I literally
- 15:56Speaker 5: put it all in there, and I hope I don't
- 15:57Speaker 5: regret that when it comes out. Dedication to my daughter
- 16:01Speaker 5: at the end and I'm like, you know, I hope
- 16:03Speaker 5: if you read this one day, that I don't embarrass
- 16:06Speaker 5: you too much, that you're proud of me, and you
- 16:08Speaker 5: know that me sharing my story definitely is helping other people,
- 16:13Speaker 5: especially in like the OCD.
- 16:14Speaker 4: Community know that they're not alone. I've had so many
- 16:18Speaker 4: people reach out.
- 16:18Speaker 5: Being like I had no idea what was wrong with me,
- 16:22Speaker 5: And now i know, like, Okay, those are called intrusive thoughts.
- 16:25Speaker 5: This is something that you know it's like, but people
- 16:30Speaker 5: don't talk about it as much because you feel like
- 16:34Speaker 5: if I say the things going on in my head,
- 16:37Speaker 5: I sound crazy. Like I literally went on a hike
- 16:41Speaker 5: with my family. It was rock summer and I when
- 16:44Speaker 5: we were in Pump Springs. We took the aerial tramway
- 16:47Speaker 5: all the way to the top and there wasn't much
- 16:49Speaker 5: snow left. But our daughter loves rock climbing, and she
- 16:53Speaker 5: just starts like climbing these actual rocks and I'm like,
- 16:55Speaker 5: oh my god, I saw her die like five times.
- 16:58Speaker 5: It was like I saw her go off the rock.
- 17:00Speaker 5: I saw the stick going her eye, and all of
- 17:02Speaker 5: these things that I'm just like, I don't want to
- 17:03Speaker 5: see these things. But also now that I'm medicated, I
- 17:06Speaker 5: feel like I'm able to kind of shut them down
- 17:09Speaker 5: quicker where I'm like, Okay, that's not gonna happen. We're
- 17:11Speaker 5: right here by her. If she falls, I'm going to
- 17:13Speaker 5: catch her. But I'm not always going to be there.
- 17:16Speaker 5: You know, she might climb a rock at school and
- 17:18Speaker 5: fall off, and I'm not always going to be there,
- 17:20Speaker 5: So just.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Yea for people that don't there's probably a lot of
- 17:23Speaker 2: people that don't understand that, But I have those as well.
- 17:26Speaker 3: I have intrusive thought it's really bad.
- 17:27Speaker 2: And Eddie rides motorcycles, so between dirt bikes and Harley's.
- 17:32Speaker 2: When he goes out and I can't, I don't hear
- 17:35Speaker 2: from him or something, I have like he died, the
- 17:39Speaker 2: CoP's gonna call me. I'm planning his funeral. Like all
- 17:42Speaker 2: these things go through my head. If my daughter doesn't
- 17:45Speaker 2: respond to me and she's out and it's late, I
- 17:47Speaker 2: have that whole like it's it's a situation.
- 17:51Speaker 4: And I just have a toddler right now.
- 17:52Speaker 5: And then when I think about the future, I'm like,
- 17:55Speaker 5: my OCD doesn't really let me even look into the
- 17:58Speaker 5: future that far. I can kind kind of just go
- 18:01Speaker 5: one year at a time, but then if you ask me,
- 18:04Speaker 5: like where do you see yourself in two years? And
- 18:05Speaker 5: then I'm like, oh my god, where's she going to
- 18:07Speaker 5: be going to kindergarten? Like we have to start touring
- 18:09Speaker 5: schools we have to start applying this fall, and that's
- 18:13Speaker 5: as far as I can get.
- 18:14Speaker 4: I'm like, let's just let's get her into kindergarten.
- 18:16Speaker 2: I can't even it's hard to struggle. I'm going through
- 18:20Speaker 2: therapy right now and trying to figure out what the
- 18:23Speaker 2: hell is going on with me. My daughter is very OCD,
- 18:26Speaker 2: she's a counter and all those things and the intrusive thoughts,
- 18:30Speaker 2: and so, you know, me and her bond over that experience,
- 18:33Speaker 2: but it's difficult to figure out what to do and
- 18:37Speaker 2: try to make it better and try to internally go okay,
- 18:40Speaker 2: that's an intrusive thought. Let me just move on, Like
- 18:43Speaker 2: you know, it's hard. So you said you're turning forty.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Is there some big birthday plan? Who's on the guest?
- 18:53Speaker 5: I'm literally at a I have no idea what I'm
- 18:56Speaker 5: going to do. We wanted to do an all incline
- 19:00Speaker 5: US a resort in Cabo, and do like a big party,
- 19:03Speaker 5: and then it just wasn't coming together as easily as
- 19:08Speaker 5: I wanted it to. And my birthdays on a Wednesday,
- 19:12Speaker 5: the Friday after my birthdays, literally two days later, we
- 19:14Speaker 5: have a wedding in Vegas. So now I'm thinking do
- 19:17Speaker 5: we just go to Vegas and do Wednesday Thursday, have
- 19:21Speaker 5: a down day, spa day, and then the wedding Friday.
- 19:24Speaker 5: So I'm thinking we might just do Vegas.
- 19:27Speaker 3: But it sounds easier.
- 19:29Speaker 5: It does, and I want to invite everyone, you know,
- 19:31Speaker 5: Like I want to go somewhere where. I really liked
- 19:34Speaker 5: what we did for Bravocon night one when we all
- 19:37Speaker 5: went up to the Foundation Room and just that whole area,
- 19:41Speaker 5: Like I'm kind of just thinking something that's like that
- 19:43Speaker 5: kind of vibe doesn't necessarily have to be a rented
- 19:46Speaker 5: out space, private party, but somewhere with a good view,
- 19:49Speaker 5: good drinks.
- 19:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Yeah, Let's talk about the Indian of Vanner punt Roles
- 19:54Speaker 2: a little bit as somebody that was on a show
- 19:58Speaker 2: for over a decade and then in ended. For me,
- 20:02Speaker 2: it was devastating for me. It took me like a
- 20:04Speaker 2: whole year to feel normal again. Did you go through
- 20:08Speaker 2: that grieving process?
- 20:10Speaker 5: I think we felt it coming, to be honest, and
- 20:13Speaker 5: I feel like we had a bit of a heads up,
- 20:17Speaker 5: so it wasn't a complete shock when we got the call.
- 20:20Speaker 5: Still it was like, oh, Okay, that finally happened. But
- 20:25Speaker 5: then they're like, but you know, you're gonna be on
- 20:26Speaker 5: the Valley. So having filmed the Valley in place of
- 20:30Speaker 5: Season twelve last summer, I felt like I still got
- 20:33Speaker 5: my fix and I didn't yeah skip a beat, even
- 20:37Speaker 5: though it was different. It was a lot of our
- 20:39Speaker 5: same crew, same showrunner, so it kind of felt like home,
- 20:44Speaker 5: and I feel like that was an easy transition out
- 20:47Speaker 5: of one thing to just kind of hop into another.
- 20:50Speaker 5: But it's gonna be really weird when you know there's
- 20:54Speaker 5: vander pumber Well season twelve and we're watching previews for
- 20:58Speaker 5: the next week.
- 20:59Speaker 2: I know, Oh, do you know any of the cast members?
- 21:02Speaker 4: I do.
- 21:02Speaker 5: I know a couple of the girls who one of
- 21:05Speaker 5: them I had worked with there back in the day.
- 21:08Speaker 5: She's been there for many years and I wanted to
- 21:10Speaker 5: get her on the show like season seven, but she
- 21:14Speaker 5: was pretty much only friends with me and didn't really
- 21:16Speaker 5: fit in the rest of the group. So I'm really
- 21:19Speaker 5: excited for her and then her best friend I met
- 21:22Speaker 5: more recently at SIR when I was just there for
- 21:24Speaker 5: a night with Captain Jason, so I talked to her
- 21:29Speaker 5: and you know, yeah, so I'm really I'm excited for them.
- 21:34Speaker 5: You know, this show has brought so much opportunity to
- 21:38Speaker 5: my life, and I'm excited for the new kids to
- 21:42Speaker 5: get there.
- 21:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Now, do you think that they should have kept some
- 21:46Speaker 2: of their original cast members? Because we know how hard
- 21:49Speaker 2: it is to recast a show and get people invested
- 21:51Speaker 2: in it. I mean, we're they're having problems with Real
- 21:54Speaker 2: Housewives of New York. Now, do you think that they
- 21:57Speaker 2: should have or do you think you guys have kind
- 21:59Speaker 2: of outgrown it and now you're better suited for the Valley.
- 22:03Speaker 4: Maybe a little bit of both.
- 22:04Speaker 5: Like Peter still works at the restaurant, you know, so
- 22:07Speaker 5: I feel like he should be a part of it.
- 22:09Speaker 5: You still have Geirmo and Natalie Lisa, so I guess
- 22:12Speaker 5: you maybe do.
- 22:12Speaker 4: Have some the same.
- 22:14Speaker 5: I'm more curious how they're going to start the first episode,
- 22:17Speaker 5: you know, because it was so iconic when we went
- 22:20Speaker 5: from Housewives Seemless vander Pump Rules, So are they going
- 22:24Speaker 5: to do something similar? Are some of us going to
- 22:28Speaker 5: get a call to appear?
- 22:30Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 22:31Speaker 2: That's what I was wondering, if you guys are going
- 22:33Speaker 2: to get they haven't have they started filming yet or not?
- 22:36Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 22:36Speaker 5: I think they're filming in April, I heard, but they
- 22:39Speaker 5: haven't started yet.
- 22:42Speaker 3: What's your relationship with Lisa vander Pump.
- 22:47Speaker 5: I don't talk to her too often. She usually calls
- 22:50Speaker 5: when she needs something.
- 22:52Speaker 4: That was recent.
- 22:53Speaker 5: When I talked to her, she had a question about
- 22:56Speaker 5: a friend of mine on another show of hers, and
- 22:58Speaker 5: that was pretty much it.
- 23:01Speaker 2: Yeah, you're some use to her. So she has nothing
- 23:05Speaker 2: to do with The Valley right, she.
- 23:08Speaker 5: Has her name on it. She's technically an executive produce.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Of course she does, but she doesn't.
- 23:13Speaker 5: Know anything going on on it. When she found out
- 23:15Speaker 5: Kristen was pregnant, she asked if, like we knew who
- 23:18Speaker 5: the dad was, and we're like, you're an executive producer
- 23:22Speaker 5: on the show.
- 23:23Speaker 2: I read that.
- 23:25Speaker 3: I read that he's.
- 23:27Speaker 4: Very much not involved, but she has her name on
- 23:30Speaker 4: the show.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Oh my god, So where do you stand right now
- 23:32Speaker 2: with both Ariana and Sandoval?
- 23:34Speaker 4: I actually was with Ariana last night.
- 23:37Speaker 5: We had a mutual friend's birthday, so we spent the
- 23:41Speaker 5: most time we've spent together in a while, and it
- 23:44Speaker 5: was really fun. Sandoval, I have not talked to him
- 23:48Speaker 5: and I don't even know how long, but.
- 23:52Speaker 3: Yeah, did you watch him on Traders?
- 23:54Speaker 4: I did, and I thoroughly enjoyed this season.
- 23:57Speaker 3: It was so good.
- 23:59Speaker 4: I'm obsessed with that show.
- 24:01Speaker 3: Yeah, it's well, you'll be on it sooner or later.
- 24:03Speaker 3: I know it.
- 24:16Speaker 2: How are you currently supporting Ali now? The current situation
- 24:21Speaker 2: with her and James? We had discussions years ago about this.
- 24:27Speaker 5: I remember me, you and Raquel at Bravocan and so
- 24:32Speaker 5: I was actually also with Ali yesterday. She just did
- 24:35Speaker 5: a play that my sister was in.
- 24:38Speaker 4: It was so she's doing really well.
- 24:42Speaker 5: She has a new podcast coming out called Starstruck, where
- 24:45Speaker 5: she is going to be having celebrities on and reading
- 24:48Speaker 5: their birth charts, and she has a new apartment.
- 24:52Speaker 4: She's her really well.
- 24:54Speaker 5: I've been there with her from the morning after I
- 24:58Speaker 5: got the call that he was around, and I've just
- 25:01Speaker 5: been there for her in any way she needs support.
- 25:04Speaker 4: But she's doing really well.
- 25:05Speaker 5: I'm really proud of her because I know it's never
- 25:08Speaker 5: easy to leave that kind of situation because when it's good,
- 25:11Speaker 5: it's great, but when it's bad, it's bad.
- 25:13Speaker 4: And I'm just happy that she's out.
- 25:16Speaker 2: I never really understood that relationship, and then being around
- 25:19Speaker 2: them that one time, I'm like, what the hell, You're
- 25:22Speaker 2: so cute, so sweet, such a good gurl, I'm like,
- 25:26Speaker 2: what are you doing? I wanted to shake her, but
- 25:29Speaker 2: all the best to her for sure. Were you surprised
- 25:33Speaker 2: at Jack's announcement about his addiction.
- 25:36Speaker 4: I can't say I was surprised.
- 25:39Speaker 5: I'm more so surprised that he finally admitted it, which
- 25:43Speaker 5: you know also is not an easy thing to admit.
- 25:45Speaker 5: But the timing of it, the little sauce.
- 25:49Speaker 4: You know, about to start.
- 25:50Speaker 5: You're trying to get some sympathy, So the timing of
- 25:55Speaker 5: it was interesting.
- 25:56Speaker 4: But I can't stay I'm surprised.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Yeah, it has Brittany on the wake of Jack's announcement,
- 26:02Speaker 2: I'm sure it was no big revelation to her.
- 26:06Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean he has just been awful to her.
- 26:08Speaker 5: You know, she has been through it. She was at
- 26:12Speaker 5: the birthday dinner last night as well, and she is
- 26:15Speaker 5: such an incredible mother, very strong woman, and Cruse is
- 26:20Speaker 5: really lucky that he has her. You know, she has
- 26:25Speaker 5: just been through so much over the last ten years.
- 26:29Speaker 5: And similar to you know, Ali and Raquel and the
- 26:33Speaker 5: girls who are with these narcissistic men, and it's even
- 26:37Speaker 5: if it's not physically abusive, there's so many other types
- 26:40Speaker 5: of abuse and just again I'm happy that she's out,
- 26:44Speaker 5: you know. I'm happy that her and Ali are doing
- 26:47Speaker 5: well and taking care of themselves, and I'm just glad
- 26:50Speaker 5: that she's out of that situation.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure. I mean, I don't know her, but
- 26:55Speaker 2: she just seems so sweet. She is so sweet, so kind.
- 27:00Speaker 3: It was another situation.
- 27:01Speaker 2: I'm like, why why are they together? Do you think
- 27:04Speaker 2: that it's time for Jacks to hang up his reality
- 27:06Speaker 2: TV career?
- 27:08Speaker 5: I mean, I get it, he's entertaining, he's good TV.
- 27:12Speaker 5: But also when a bad behavior is rewarded with, you know,
- 27:16Speaker 5: another season, another season, it's like, yeah, I don't know.
- 27:20Speaker 5: He wasn't around as much, or at least not around
- 27:22Speaker 5: me this current season that's about to air. So yeah,
- 27:26Speaker 5: I don't know what's gonna happen next season, but.
- 27:31Speaker 4: We'll see.
- 27:31Speaker 3: It'll be interesting. What are you most excited to see
- 27:34Speaker 3: next season on The Valley.
- 27:36Speaker 5: I'm hoping Summer Moon has her little appearance in it.
- 27:40Speaker 5: They did film at my house, so that'll be just
- 27:44Speaker 5: cute to see, you know, whenever she's on camera, she
- 27:46Speaker 5: was swimming and whatnot. But I don't know, I'm just
- 27:51Speaker 5: I'm excited to see me with a new group on
- 27:55Speaker 5: a similar show. I think it'll be exciting. I hope fun,
- 28:02Speaker 5: but it was also I mean there were some explosive
- 28:06Speaker 5: moments that I've heard about that I'm like, oh, I
- 28:10Speaker 5: can't wait to see that, you know, I just I
- 28:11Speaker 5: got the call about it, but now to watch it all,
- 28:15Speaker 5: to see their Hawaii trip that I was not on,
- 28:18Speaker 5: I'm excited to see that.
- 28:19Speaker 4: Kristen's engagement.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Are you close to Kristin?
- 28:25Speaker 4: We go up and down.
- 28:27Speaker 5: You know, it's like we'll talk every day, then we
- 28:29Speaker 5: don't talk for a month, and then we find our
- 28:33Speaker 5: way back. So it's definitely one that ebbs and flows,
- 28:36Speaker 5: but you know, nothing but love for her and excited
- 28:39Speaker 5: for her baby baby girl on the way.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Oh that she should be do pretty soon, right.
- 28:47Speaker 4: I think she's got like two more months.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Two months now sta see somebody that we really haven't
- 28:52Speaker 2: seen back on reality TV.
- 28:55Speaker 4: I'm set her back.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Yeah, so it's like she she took a long break.
- 29:01Speaker 3: She really did.
- 29:04Speaker 2: What do you say to people who think that the
- 29:06Speaker 2: other Van of Pump Rolls cast shouldn't show up to
- 29:08Speaker 2: the valley? Do you think that there's like certain people
- 29:12Speaker 2: from your cast or Vandon pump roles cast that will
- 29:15Speaker 2: beginning spin offs maybe Valley.
- 29:18Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I could definitely see that. I could see,
- 29:21Speaker 5: you know, something around Ariana and Katie and the sandwich shop.
- 29:24Speaker 3: That's what I was thinking.
- 29:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I could totally see that.
- 29:28Speaker 5: So, you know, some of us who it makes sense
- 29:30Speaker 5: to move on to the Valley that you know makes sense,
- 29:34Speaker 5: but then some I mean, I hope that everyone you
- 29:37Speaker 5: know continues to do something in this space, whether it's
- 29:40Speaker 5: another show or you know, a new podcast. Everyone has one, everyone,
- 29:45Speaker 5: but not everybody needs one.
- 29:48Speaker 4: Valley has a podcast.
- 29:51Speaker 3: I mean, it seems to be the thing to do
- 29:53Speaker 3: almost now.
- 29:54Speaker 4: Jesse doesn't, but pretty much everyone else.
- 29:56Speaker 3: Oh my god, that's funny. Do you go to their
- 29:59Speaker 3: sandwich shop?
- 30:01Speaker 5: I am not in West Hollywood that often. Usually, like
- 30:03Speaker 5: when I come here to record my podcast is like
- 30:07Speaker 5: the one time I'm in West Hollywood, but then I
- 30:09Speaker 5: have to go back over the hill to pick up
- 30:11Speaker 5: somewhere from school, So I'm not in this area as much.
- 30:15Speaker 3: But so you don't have a favorite sandwich from.
- 30:18Speaker 5: I'm what it was called. It was the Turkey sandwich.
- 30:21Speaker 5: I'm a basic bitch when it comes to sandwiches.
- 30:23Speaker 4: I don't want.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Anything on it I am.
- 30:27Speaker 5: I'm like, if I go there, it would be the
- 30:29Speaker 5: turkey sandwich, the grilled cheese or one. It was like
- 30:33Speaker 5: a peanut butter and jelly, but I think it had
- 30:35Speaker 5: like chips or something on it.
- 30:37Speaker 4: That's but no, everything they're so good.
- 30:40Speaker 5: They have lover Boy there, so I love that you
- 30:42Speaker 5: get those little Bravo crossover a.
- 30:44Speaker 3: Little cross promotion there. That's amazing.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Well, thank you so much. Is there anything else you
- 30:50Speaker 2: want to talk about?
- 30:54Speaker 5: My podcast Every First Shenanigans. The book available for pre order.
- 30:59Speaker 5: This is, you know, the biggest, one of the biggest
- 31:02Speaker 5: things I think I've ever done in my career. It's
- 31:05Speaker 5: terrifying but exciting and yeah, I'm just happy that people
- 31:10Speaker 5: will get to have my full story through my voice,
- 31:14Speaker 5: in my own words, and I hope they understand me
- 31:19Speaker 5: a little bit better after reading it.
- 31:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I know reality TV.
- 31:24Speaker 2: It's funny because people want to one hundred percent judge
- 31:27Speaker 2: you on an edited TV show that polarizes your you know.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Usually your worst behavior. So look, and it's hard and
- 31:35Speaker 3: from somebody.
- 31:35Speaker 2: You've gotten a lot of shit on social media and
- 31:38Speaker 2: I have to last year was probably one of my
- 31:40Speaker 2: worst ever and it is hurtful.
- 31:44Speaker 3: As much as you think I don't care about what
- 31:46Speaker 3: people are saying.
- 31:47Speaker 2: It's hard, and I do personally think that there needs
- 31:51Speaker 2: to be new laws set with Instagram, Like I'm all
- 31:54Speaker 2: for this freedom of speech, but when people are sending
- 31:57Speaker 2: you death threats and saying horrible things, it's not okay.
- 32:00Speaker 4: No, And it's just for the people.
- 32:02Speaker 5: I look at it from a perspective of what is
- 32:05Speaker 5: so wrong in your life that you feel okay to
- 32:08Speaker 5: go on to a stranger's page say the meanest things.
- 32:12Speaker 5: And then I look at their profile and it's like
- 32:14Speaker 5: a Bible verse, a photo of their dog, their children,
- 32:18Speaker 5: And so if their profile is public, I will go
- 32:21Speaker 5: comment on a photo of their children and just say
- 32:24Speaker 5: I pray for your kids that they never get like
- 32:27Speaker 5: you're doing to me. I'm just going to say a
- 32:29Speaker 5: prayer for them because the fact that this you're a parent,
- 32:32Speaker 5: I mean, like, come.
- 32:32Speaker 3: On, it's crazy.
- 32:34Speaker 2: I remember having a meeting with Bravo and they told me, listen,
- 32:38Speaker 2: just know that the people that are very vocal like that,
- 32:40Speaker 2: it's three percent of our viewers.
- 32:42Speaker 3: So just keep that in mind.
- 32:44Speaker 2: Like now a lot of them are hired butts nowadays, Yeah, And.
- 32:49Speaker 5: The thing is too, when we're at Bravocon, when we're
- 32:53Speaker 5: at these type of events and stuff, every single person
- 32:56Speaker 5: is so nice, So like, you know, that's it's not
- 33:00Speaker 5: what's online. It's having those interactions with the fans, Like
- 33:03Speaker 5: I'm so excited for a book tour. I don't think
- 33:05Speaker 5: anyone's gonna come up and say something rude like that's
- 33:09Speaker 5: commented on my Instagram.
- 33:10Speaker 2: You know, I don't think I've ever had in the
- 33:12Speaker 2: seventeen years, anybody come up to me and say something
- 33:15Speaker 2: nasty to my face.
- 33:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:16Speaker 2: No, I can remember. Maybe they have, but I really
- 33:18Speaker 2: can't remember.
- 33:19Speaker 5: Yeah, totally. A question for you, how is filming going?
- 33:24Speaker 5: Can you tell me? Oh?
- 33:25Speaker 3: I wish I could tell you.
- 33:26Speaker 2: I can just say it's been very difficult for me
- 33:28Speaker 2: with a lot of stuff that, you know, personal stuff
- 33:31Speaker 2: that's going on. It's always hard when real life stuff
- 33:34Speaker 2: is really bringing you down.
- 33:37Speaker 3: It's hard, really hard.
- 33:39Speaker 5: Do you feel better about this season though, than last?
- 33:43Speaker 2: You know what, I didn't feel bad about last season
- 33:45Speaker 2: and then it aired, I'm like, what the hell?
- 33:48Speaker 4: No, Crystals, I'm like, how are you? And You're like, wow, Mike, no,
- 33:51Speaker 4: I've seen.
- 33:52Speaker 3: I'm like, how the hell did that happen? You know,
- 33:56Speaker 3: it's it's it was. It was brutal for sure, for sure.
- 34:00Speaker 2: And then you know, it's like there's people on the shows,
- 34:02Speaker 2: all the shows across the board that move storyline and
- 34:05Speaker 2: get things going, and then sometimes you are, you know,
- 34:08Speaker 2: the asshole shit store because you're trying to get things going.
- 34:12Speaker 2: So it's like you're damned if you do and you're
- 34:16Speaker 2: damned if you don't. Totally it's difficult. But one last question,
- 34:21Speaker 2: ask about how it felt that Lady Gaga was gonna
- 34:24Speaker 2: miss her? Wait what Lady Gaga said she was going
- 34:28Speaker 2: to miss you?
- 34:29Speaker 5: On a lie detector test for Vanity Fair, they asked
- 34:33Speaker 5: her if she was excited for a new cast of
- 34:34Speaker 5: Vanderbump Rolls and she says no, yes, no, and they're
- 34:38Speaker 5: like inconclusive, and they go, who are you going to
- 34:40Speaker 5: miss most from the original cast, and she just goes.
- 34:44Speaker 4: Sina on a line. Though I was like, oh my god.
- 34:49Speaker 5: Then I hear that she's hosting and a musical guest
- 34:52Speaker 5: for SNL and so NBC got me tickets. I went
- 34:56Speaker 5: to the show, hung out with her at the after party,
- 35:00Speaker 5: say like it was so iconic. I've had such a
- 35:05Speaker 5: crazy month between Lady Gaga, the Jonahs brothers and math singer.
- 35:09Speaker 4: March has been insane for me.
- 35:11Speaker 5: So I feel like I'm getting my mojo back, I'm
- 35:13Speaker 5: getting my r and we're going to go into forty
- 35:17Speaker 5: feeling good.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Being far and again, I'll tell you this, just relax,
- 35:21Speaker 2: have a good time with your family, because you know,
- 35:23Speaker 2: once you start filming stuff, it takes away from family
- 35:27Speaker 2: time and it keeps you busy and you're not able
- 35:29Speaker 2: to go to your second house as much to relax.
- 35:32Speaker 2: So take it all in right now, you know, because
- 35:34Speaker 2: you are going to be booked and busy here pretty soon.
- 35:38Speaker 5: Kay.
- 35:38Speaker 4: We've been wanting to do this for so long, So
- 35:40Speaker 4: I'm glad. I know why. I know Shenanigan's with you
- 35:43Speaker 4: as well.
- 35:44Speaker 2: Yeah, let me know.
- 35:45Speaker 4: Let me know all the love Teddy as well, you know,
- 35:48Speaker 4: I will, I will.
- 35:49Speaker 3: I was hoping to see her today, so hopefully that happens.
- 35:52Speaker 2: But thank you so much first and love to the family,
- 35:57Speaker 2: same to you, Okay, bye bye,
