- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome back to A Peak Inside Gator Football. Chatting right

- 0:07Speaker 1: and what it could mean for recruiting in this video
- 0:10Speaker 1: brought to you by PrizePix. Don't forget to download the app, guys.
- 0:13Speaker 1: And if you are a new user, you can play
- 0:15Speaker 1: a $ 5 lineup and use our code.
- 0:16Speaker 2: It's HMA.
- 0:17Speaker 1: And if you win, you'll get $ 150 in lineups instantly. Okay,
- 0:21Speaker 1: so I was on Gators Online. I checked out this
- 0:24Speaker 1: visitor list.
- 0:25Speaker 2: It is like.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Three miles long. I want to start with Jacoby Paisley
- 0:31Speaker 1: because he's the official visitor, right?
- 0:33Speaker 2: Correct. Okay.
- 0:34Speaker 1: So he's committed to West Virginia, but he's not just
- 0:37Speaker 1: coming to the game. He's actually taking that official visit.
- 0:40Speaker 1: How seriously should we take this one? And do you
- 0:43Speaker 1: think Florida's legitimately got a shot to flip them?
- 0:47Speaker 2: Well, I think that, you know, the way that recruiting
- 0:50Speaker 2: goes now, I feel like I learn more cycle by cycle, right?
- 0:54Speaker 2: With NIL introduced and just all the changes and, I mean,
- 0:57Speaker 2: kids in high school have agents now. So, you know,
- 0:59Speaker 2: that's a new thing in this cycle. So I always
- 1:02Speaker 2: sort of learn on the fly now with just the
- 1:04Speaker 2: modern age of recruiting. And I feel like we saw
- 1:07Speaker 2: how early Florida was, for the most part, done with
- 1:10Speaker 2: their 2027 class. I felt like going into May, going
- 1:14Speaker 2: into official visit season, the majority of the work was done.
- 1:17Speaker 2: That used to not be the case. It used to
- 1:19Speaker 2: be you take your official visits and you're looking at
- 1:21Speaker 2: your class, the nucleus of it done. July-ish. Well, that's
- 1:24Speaker 2: not the case now. So I feel like whenever you
- 1:26Speaker 2: look at guys that are taking official visits, and I
- 1:29Speaker 2: mean visits in general, but I think official visits are
- 1:31Speaker 2: even more notable. If you're a guy that's a 27
- 1:34Speaker 2: recruit and you're visiting another school at this point in
- 1:36Speaker 2: the season after you've been committed for so many months,
- 1:39Speaker 2: I think that definitely shows that there's interest on the
- 1:42Speaker 2: recruit side and the simple fact that Florida is hosting him.
- 1:45Speaker 2: You could have had this guy from right there near
- 1:47Speaker 2: the south part of Georgia or going towards the south
- 1:50Speaker 2: part of Georgia. I mean, that's not a hard drive, right?
- 1:52Speaker 2: So I think the fact that you're having him on
- 1:54Speaker 2: that official visit shows that Florida has some interest. I
- 1:58Speaker 2: don't know pecking order or where the things are there
- 2:01Speaker 2: because this is Paisley's first visit to Florida. I do
- 2:04Speaker 2: know that there's been contact. They offered there in July
- 2:07Speaker 2: a first visit. So I think this is more one
- 2:10Speaker 2: where Florida and Paisley are both going to feel each
- 2:13Speaker 2: other out. They're going to just kind of see where
- 2:15Speaker 2: each other's heads at. Obviously Paisley's going to get to
- 2:17Speaker 2: see more about the university and the team and what
- 2:20Speaker 2: the scheme fit and all this, that, and the other
- 2:22Speaker 2: will be. But I do think that the door is,
- 2:24Speaker 2: I don't even know that it's cracked. I think it's
- 2:26Speaker 2: pretty open. You know, he's committed to West Virginia there
- 2:30Speaker 2: in May. Florida's talking to him. Vanderbilt's talking to him.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Georgia's talking to him. He took an official visit to
- 2:36Speaker 2: Georgia in June. Vanderbilt's going to host him for two
- 2:39Speaker 2: games this fall. So, I also think too, that there's
- 2:43Speaker 2: some ties there with Florida. He's the younger cousin of
- 2:47Speaker 2: former Florida Gators on the, I believe on those Urban
- 2:50Speaker 2: Meyer teams, Brian Crum, his current DB coach at his
- 2:53Speaker 2: high school. And granted Paisley plays wide receiver, but former
- 2:56Speaker 2: Florida DB Rashad Torrance coaches at his high school. So
- 2:59Speaker 2: he's heard a lot about Florida. Obviously he's got the
- 3:02Speaker 2: family ties there. A lot of his family is right
- 3:04Speaker 2: there in Camden County, which like, I mean, like you
- 3:07Speaker 2: could throw a rock and be right there at the
- 3:09Speaker 2: state line from where you're at there. So I think
- 3:11Speaker 2: there is some heavy interest on Paisley's side. Florida is
- 3:15Speaker 2: juggling a couple wide receiver targets. Obviously, Eastern Royal, the
- 3:18Speaker 2: five-star Texas commit, who will be in there this weekend.
- 3:21Speaker 2: And there's a couple others that they're looking at as
- 3:23Speaker 2: a potential fourth wide receiver. But Paisley's one of those.
- 3:26Speaker 2: And I think a lot of questions will be answered
- 3:28Speaker 2: this weekend. But I do think that his interest is
- 3:30Speaker 2: very high.
- 3:31Speaker 1: So you mentioned Eastern Royal, and he is committed to Texas.
- 3:34Speaker 1: He is one of the elite receivers in the entire country.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Why is he coming to Gainesville, and how much of
- 3:41Speaker 1: an opportunity does Florida really have here? You know, he's
- 3:44Speaker 1: out of the state of Louisiana, and if you talk
- 3:46Speaker 1: to Urban Meyer, he'll tell you, don't ever recruit kids
- 3:49Speaker 1: out of Louisiana. It doesn't go well for you. And,
- 3:52Speaker 1: you know, committed to Texas, but I think there's so
- 3:54Speaker 1: many of us that feel like there's a great chance
- 3:56Speaker 1: he ends up at LSU. But if Florida's passing game
- 3:59Speaker 1: has a big night in this atmosphere, do you think
- 4:03Speaker 1: that a visit like this can actually make him– rethink
- 4:08Speaker 1: where he ends up?
- 4:09Speaker 2: Sure. I think that it could, it could have an
- 4:11Speaker 2: impact there. I mean, guys that play wide receiver, you
- 4:14Speaker 2: can go back to the beginning of time with recruiting.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Those guys want to know, how are you getting me
- 4:18Speaker 2: the ball? Who's getting me the ball? And they want
- 4:20Speaker 2: to know about your scheme. So I think that with
- 4:22Speaker 2: John Summerall having some connections to the state of Louisiana
- 4:25Speaker 2: from his time coaching at Tulane and several other coaches
- 4:28Speaker 2: that are on Florida staff now have those ties. I'm
- 4:31Speaker 2: sort of in the Urban Meyer thinking of, you know,
- 4:34Speaker 2: X the boot, you know, like stay away from there.
- 4:37Speaker 2: You can get those guys. I've seen Florida land guys
- 4:39Speaker 2: from Louisiana. I just haven't seen it consistently enough, and
- 4:42Speaker 2: I've certainly seen times where Florida was well out in
- 4:45Speaker 2: front of recruiting this guy earlier, recruiting this guy harder earlier.
- 4:50Speaker 2: The LSU Tigers, it's different there in that state because
- 4:53Speaker 2: a lot of those guys– they're the big school in
- 4:56Speaker 2: the state. A lot of those guys grew up there. So,
- 4:59Speaker 2: I mean, obviously, Royals may be a little bit of
- 5:01Speaker 2: a different type of player because we're talking about a
- 5:03Speaker 2: guy that's from Louisiana that's committed to Texas. So, I mean,
- 5:07Speaker 2: I think that he's still been looking around. I mean,
- 5:10Speaker 2: that's been apparent. He's visited LSU. He's visited Florida several times.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Just the fact that What more do you need to see,
- 5:17Speaker 2: I guess? I understand the importance of seeing the scheme,
- 5:21Speaker 2: but you can see that on YouTube. You can see
- 5:23Speaker 2: that on TV. There's lots of ways you can see
- 5:25Speaker 2: the scheme. But you've got to shoot your shot. That's
- 5:29Speaker 2: an elite talent like that. I do think that heading
- 5:32Speaker 2: into the weekend, Texas and LSU are more the prime
- 5:37Speaker 2: contenders there. Is he going to stick with Texas? I
- 5:39Speaker 2: think if he flips, it'll be to LSU. But I
- 5:41Speaker 2: do think that the thing that is working in Florida's
- 5:43Speaker 2: favor is how their offenses run. how they're putting up
- 5:46Speaker 2: a lot of points and how they're getting the ball
- 5:48Speaker 2: to these receivers. So, you know, the electric atmosphere, seeing
- 5:51Speaker 2: a strong offensive showing and potentially a win this weekend,
- 5:55Speaker 2: I do think will make a big impact. But I
- 5:57Speaker 2: also think that playing into this is how long is
- 5:59Speaker 2: he trying to drag this out? Because again, what more
- 6:01Speaker 2: do you need to see? You've seen after visiting Florida
- 6:04Speaker 2: this weekend, you've seen all three schools for a game.
- 6:06Speaker 2: You've been to all these schools a bunch of times.
- 6:08Speaker 2: So we'll see. But I do think that Florida has
- 6:10Speaker 2: some ground to make up. I'm not sure what this
- 6:12Speaker 2: visit will do, but I'm interested to see coming out
- 6:15Speaker 2: of it.
- 6:15Speaker 1: You know, we talk about the things that he could
- 6:17Speaker 1: be looking to see, the explosive plays, the quarterback development,
- 6:21Speaker 1: how wide receivers are schemed open. And you're right. You
- 6:25Speaker 1: can see all of that on YouTube or on ESPN
- 6:27Speaker 1: highlights or whatever. Is there anything Florida can show him
- 6:33Speaker 1: that is more powerful than anything the staff could tell
- 6:36Speaker 1: him in a recruiting meeting or that he could see
- 6:39Speaker 1: on YouTube? Like, is it that environment? Is it, you know,
- 6:43Speaker 1: Florida maybe arriving a little ahead of schedule on the
- 6:46Speaker 1: national scene? Like, is there something that can only be
- 6:48Speaker 1: seen in person that could carry weight?
- 6:51Speaker 2: I mean, I think that those sit down conversations, I'm
- 6:55Speaker 2: a big person and I'm a big believer that I
- 6:58Speaker 2: can talk to someone on FaceTime, text, phone, whatever. It
- 7:01Speaker 2: doesn't have the same impact as when I'm sitting down
- 7:03Speaker 2: and talking face-to-face. So I do think that's something, obviously,
- 7:05Speaker 2: you can't get somewhere else. But I think just that
- 7:09Speaker 2: atmosphere he's going to witness inside of the Swamp, win
- 7:11Speaker 2: or lose, that place is going to go absolutely nuts.
- 7:14Speaker 2: So I think that that's something to be said. I
- 7:17Speaker 2: think that just as far as game, yes, you can
- 7:20Speaker 2: see it on YouTube after the fact, and you can
- 7:21Speaker 2: see it however you want to. But he's been compared–
- 7:26Speaker 2: just scheme-wise, fit-wise, as an Eric Singleton, as a Vernell
- 7:29Speaker 2: Brown III, those types of guys. I mean, seeing those
- 7:32Speaker 2: types of players firsthand just really fit well in the offense,
- 7:36Speaker 2: just have big games, being utilized in different ways, I
- 7:39Speaker 2: think that that can have an impact in person. But
- 7:41Speaker 2: I think probably more for me, the biggest benefit that
- 7:44Speaker 2: you'll get out of this is the atmosphere and that
- 7:46Speaker 2: time around the coaches in person.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Frederick Ards is an Orlando kid. He's a top national
- 7:52Speaker 1: edge player. He's committed to Texas A & M. Florida
- 7:54Speaker 1: was involved before he chose A & M, and he's
- 7:58Speaker 1: going to be in town. What has kept that relationship alive?
- 8:01Speaker 1: And if Florida's defensive front creates havoc on Saturday night,
- 8:06Speaker 1: could this recruitment become interesting again?
- 8:10Speaker 2: I think it could. And I say that just because
- 8:13Speaker 2: Frederick Ards was one of those guys that from Junior
- 8:16Speaker 2: day visit in January up until maybe the later part
- 8:20Speaker 2: of the spring, Florida was the team to beat. So,
- 8:22Speaker 2: you know, I think a hot start there, 3-0. Texas
- 8:25Speaker 2: A & M obviously had that tough loss last weekend. And,
- 8:29Speaker 2: you know, there's some, you know, bits and bites in
- 8:32Speaker 2: the armor there, I guess. You know, you want to
- 8:33Speaker 2: be able to try to take any advantage you can.
- 8:35Speaker 2: And if Florida can come out and have a strong showing,
- 8:37Speaker 2: get a win, you know, that's an advantage. You want
- 8:40Speaker 2: to take any lane you can. So, you want to
- 8:42Speaker 2: try to rekindle that big love that he had for
- 8:45Speaker 2: Florida early on. And I do think that NIL is
- 8:47Speaker 2: a factor in this recruitment, so that could potentially be
- 8:49Speaker 2: a conversation to have. He would have an official visit
- 8:53Speaker 2: to you. So, I mean, even if this is your
- 8:54Speaker 2: springboard to get a guy like this back later in
- 8:57Speaker 2: the season for an official visit, you've got to get
- 8:59Speaker 2: him on campus first because I always say these visit
- 9:01Speaker 2: lists and what you see on Friday and Thursday, whatever,
- 9:03Speaker 2: heavy on the expected part. I've just seen so many
- 9:06Speaker 2: visit lists where, X, Y, and Z is expected. Well,
- 9:09Speaker 2: you have to see who shows up on Saturday. So
- 9:11Speaker 2: first step is getting him in town, getting back around
- 9:13Speaker 2: the staff, trying to rekindle that flame. And if you
- 9:16Speaker 2: can make big headway this weekend and potentially spring that
- 9:19Speaker 2: into an official visit down the road, let's see what happens.
- 9:21Speaker 2: But I do think that having a big showing, you know,
- 9:25Speaker 2: Jaden Woods coming out and having a strong game, being
- 9:27Speaker 2: able to be that guy that plays in space, gets
- 9:29Speaker 2: after the quarterbacks, It's being able to truly see firsthand, hey,
- 9:33Speaker 2: I know my skill set really well. I fit really
- 9:36Speaker 2: well into Florida's defense. So I think that those are
- 9:38Speaker 2: some of the things to keep an eye on for him.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Definitely could, you know, get a good pressure, get some
- 9:44Speaker 1: sacks that might turn some heads. So when I was
- 9:46Speaker 1: looking at this list, something that jumped out to me
- 9:49Speaker 1: was the fact that Zachary Johnson and Jernard Albright are
- 9:54Speaker 1: on here, two Florida State commits in the swamp for
- 9:58Speaker 1: a game of this magnitude. of those two is there
- 10:02Speaker 1: one you believe florida has more of a realistic chance
- 10:05Speaker 1: of making a move with and what should we be
- 10:08Speaker 1: watching after this visit you.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Know from reading you know from from finally putting together
- 10:13Speaker 2: my list and getting my names and compiling them all
- 10:15Speaker 2: together those were two guys that were not on my
- 10:18Speaker 2: radar whatsoever going in so things between Florida and those
- 10:22Speaker 2: two guys I'm sort of kind of the same thing
- 10:24Speaker 2: where you see you're like oh interesting I don't really
- 10:27Speaker 2: know right now where things are at with either of
- 10:28Speaker 2: those guys I think that probably Zachary Johnson is the
- 10:32Speaker 2: one that I think Florida has the biggest opportunity with
- 10:35Speaker 2: just because he is an in-state guy because he has
- 10:37Speaker 2: been vocal about you know talking up other schools I
- 10:40Speaker 2: mean I think he went to Miami a couple weekends
- 10:42Speaker 2: ago and was like man it'd be great to be
- 10:44Speaker 2: a cane all the while being committed to FSU so
- 10:47Speaker 2: He definitely seems open. Albright, I know Florida has recruited previously,
- 10:51Speaker 2: and there were some times in the summer, I can't
- 10:54Speaker 2: remember which weekend it was, but he was at one
- 10:56Speaker 2: point expected for an official visit. I think he was
- 10:58Speaker 2: committed to South Carolina, eventually flipped to Florida State, and
- 11:01Speaker 2: I think Florida, both sides decided to walk away at
- 11:04Speaker 2: that point. So this one is one where I'm interested
- 11:07Speaker 2: in A, if they show, and B, where things go
- 11:10Speaker 2: after that, because Florida already has two DBs committed, and
- 11:14Speaker 2: I don't know. With Johnson, he could be an athlete.
- 11:15Speaker 2: He could play either side. So is this a potential
- 11:17Speaker 2: new name at wide receiver that we're seeing Florida kick
- 11:19Speaker 2: the tires on? Because like I said, they've explored those guys.
- 11:23Speaker 2: I don't know where they're at maybe with a potential
- 11:25Speaker 2: third safety in the class. I think a lot of
- 11:27Speaker 2: things with this visit were surprising to me to see
- 11:29Speaker 2: them expected at first, and now I really want to
- 11:32Speaker 2: see what comes out of it afterwards because those were
- 11:34Speaker 2: two names that I wasn't really tracking as heavily before
- 11:37Speaker 2: this weekend.
- 11:38Speaker 1: We're chatting with Gators Online, Blake Alderman. Guys, I want
- 11:41Speaker 1: to take a minute and tell you, download our episodes
- 11:44Speaker 1: on Apple Podcast and Spotify. Follow us over there. You've
- 11:47Speaker 1: been asking for us to have an audio version of
- 11:50Speaker 1: this YouTube show, and now we've done it for you.
- 11:52Speaker 1: I may drop an audio reaction and recap on the
- 11:55Speaker 1: drive home if I can convince Eric to be the
- 11:57Speaker 1: driver while I am recording for you guys. So make
- 12:00Speaker 1: sure you're subscribed over there. So another thing that I
- 12:04Speaker 1: thought was really interesting when I saw this list, and
- 12:06Speaker 1: you guys have had Bryson Wright on there all week long.
- 12:09Speaker 1: And then I saw Miami post that he was coming
- 12:12Speaker 1: to visit them this past weekend. And that ends up
- 12:15Speaker 1: not being accurate. You could argue that him being on
- 12:19Speaker 1: campus is probably every bit as important as anybody that's
- 12:24Speaker 1: coming because he's the number one overall player in the
- 12:27Speaker 1: 2028 class, at least according to rival's. Where does Florida
- 12:31Speaker 1: stand with him right now? And how important is getting
- 12:34Speaker 1: a Jacksonville superstar like that into the swamp for what's
- 12:38Speaker 1: going to be probably the biggest home game of the season,
- 12:40Speaker 1: maybe the biggest home game in the last several years?
- 12:44Speaker 2: I think it's huge. I mean, getting big time players
- 12:47Speaker 2: at big time atmospheres, they're always going to make an impression.
- 12:50Speaker 2: You know, you talk to some of your recruits that
- 12:51Speaker 2: they're like, oh, I've seen They're having their first visit,
- 12:54Speaker 2: which I don't think that's the case for Wright as
- 12:56Speaker 2: far as game day visits. But you're like, oh, I've
- 12:58Speaker 2: seen lots of the Swamp. I've heard about how loud
- 13:00Speaker 2: it is. You haven't experienced it until you've experienced it.
- 13:04Speaker 2: I would assume a weekend like this will be. So
- 13:06Speaker 2: I think that that's going to be big. Being an
- 13:09Speaker 2: elite player like that, I think that Bryson Wright, he
- 13:12Speaker 2: could be a high-level D1 power four wide receiver or
- 13:17Speaker 2: defensive back. I just think he's phenomenal on either side
- 13:19Speaker 2: of the ball. It's a good problem to have, to
- 13:21Speaker 2: have a player that you can just plug and play anywhere.
- 13:24Speaker 2: So I would say that it is early. I feel
- 13:27Speaker 2: like I've kind of been– like I've done it plenty
- 13:31Speaker 2: of times where I'm talking to these 2028 guys, and
- 13:33Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, man, so what schools stand out right now?
- 13:35Speaker 2: And they're like, dude, I haven't even finished my junior year, man.
- 13:39Speaker 2: I've got a while until official visit. So I do
- 13:41Speaker 2: think that his recruitment is still on the earlier side,
- 13:44Speaker 2: but I do think that Miami, Texas, Florida– Ohio State
- 13:48Speaker 2: is probably one in there, too. And I think Florida
- 13:50Speaker 2: State as well. They're sort of seeing what goes on
- 13:53Speaker 2: with the coaching there and if there's a change. And,
- 13:55Speaker 2: you know, obviously, if that does happen, you know, who's
- 13:57Speaker 2: going to be the replacement? Because there is a lot
- 13:59Speaker 2: of time on the clock. You know, he comes from
- 14:00Speaker 2: a household that he grew up in a Florida State house.
- 14:03Speaker 2: So they are going to watch and see how things
- 14:06Speaker 2: go there. But I'd say right now Miami's the team
- 14:09Speaker 2: to beat. I think Texas is probably the biggest threat
- 14:11Speaker 2: to them. you know, Texas has done a really, or
- 14:14Speaker 2: excuse me, Miami has done a really good job with
- 14:16Speaker 2: a lot of these high level Jacksonville guys. Their staff
- 14:19Speaker 2: has been in place longer. You know, they had that,
- 14:21Speaker 2: that strong season last year. And I think that Bryson
- 14:23Speaker 2: Wright and his family, they're big on, you know, proof
- 14:25Speaker 2: of concept. What, what does the program direction look like?
- 14:28Speaker 2: And Miami has been able to show him that. And
- 14:30Speaker 2: I do think that in the same sense where Florida's at,
- 14:32Speaker 2: maybe they're not arrived yet because just because you're three,
- 14:35Speaker 2: you know, they're not going to hang banners for that,
- 14:36Speaker 2: but you're seeing the hot start. And I think that
- 14:38Speaker 2: that's great. And that's going to be a chance to
- 14:40Speaker 2: show him and his family that, what this program's about,
- 14:43Speaker 2: how he fits, and just sort of where the direction's
- 14:45Speaker 2: going because that's going to be the big question there.
- 14:47Speaker 2: I think when you're dealing with a guy like Bryson Wright,
- 14:49Speaker 2: you're the number one player in Rivals industry rankings. You're,
- 14:52Speaker 2: I think, a five-star on any site that ranks you.
- 14:54Speaker 2: NIL is going to take care of itself no matter
- 14:56Speaker 2: where you go. Big players like that, they're going to
- 14:59Speaker 2: get taken care of there. So trajectory, development, all those
- 15:02Speaker 2: things are going to be key for him this weekend.
- 15:04Speaker 2: And I think it's big for him to get in
- 15:05Speaker 2: town this weekend because not only are you going to
- 15:07Speaker 2: be around the coaching staff and the environment, But they're
- 15:09Speaker 2: going to have a lot of 27 Florida commits there,
- 15:11Speaker 2: other guys in 28. They're going to be in his year,
- 15:13Speaker 2: other guys in 28. Man, if we came here, we
- 15:15Speaker 2: could do this, that, and the other together. So I
- 15:17Speaker 2: think all those things are beneficial, and it'll all be
- 15:20Speaker 2: on his radar this weekend.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Well, that kind of brings me to what I wanted
- 15:24Speaker 1: to talk about next, which Florida has Davin Davison. They've
- 15:27Speaker 1: got Andrew Beard, Elias Pearl, several other of the 2027
- 15:31Speaker 1: commits coming. Plus they have Armani Strong. He is a
- 15:34Speaker 1: commit in the 2028 class. How much recruiting gets done
- 15:39Speaker 1: by those guys on a weekend like this? And are
- 15:42Speaker 1: there specific uncommitted or maybe even committed elsewhere prospects on
- 15:47Speaker 1: this list that you think Florida commits are going to
- 15:50Speaker 1: be working particularly hard to swing?
- 15:54Speaker 2: You know, I think when you have your commits and
- 15:58Speaker 2: they're recruiting other guys, I think that sometimes those are
- 16:00Speaker 2: more beneficial than a coaching staff that's recruiting you because
- 16:03Speaker 2: you Coaches, there's some incentive, right, into trying to get
- 16:07Speaker 2: these players. But I think with recruits and commits and
- 16:10Speaker 2: guys that are in that same age bracket, those guys
- 16:13Speaker 2: want the best for you personally. They don't really have
- 16:15Speaker 2: a dog in the fight. Yeah, do they want their
- 16:17Speaker 2: team that they're committed to to have these building blocks
- 16:20Speaker 2: for the future there? Of course they do. But at
- 16:22Speaker 2: the same time, they're going to go recruit the next guy.
- 16:25Speaker 2: They're going to go try to build connections with the
- 16:27Speaker 2: next guy. They don't really have as much of a
- 16:29Speaker 2: dog in the fight. So I think that it's huge
- 16:31Speaker 2: because on top of Sort of being able to relate
- 16:33Speaker 2: to these guys and knowing that they're going to have
- 16:35Speaker 2: your best interest. Coaches have to go coach during the game.
- 16:38Speaker 2: That's what they're doing when they're sitting there in the
- 16:41Speaker 2: recruiting section. They're sitting with other recruits. They're having these
- 16:44Speaker 2: commits sit next to them. I think it was the
- 16:47Speaker 2: FAU game. I can't remember who he was sitting next to.
- 16:49Speaker 2: I'm drawing a blank there. But Davin Davidson, Florida's quarterback commit,
- 16:53Speaker 2: was sitting next to another target there. And he's just
- 16:55Speaker 2: sitting there chatting them up the entire game. So I
- 16:57Speaker 2: think that that's big too because... If you see a
- 17:00Speaker 2: big play there, I would think that it's hard to
- 17:02Speaker 2: pass up. Hearing a pitch like that during the game,
- 17:05Speaker 2: it's like, hey, man, I can do that throw. That
- 17:06Speaker 2: could be me and you there. Just hearing that from somebody,
- 17:09Speaker 2: just hearing it from all angles there, there's no negatives
- 17:11Speaker 2: to that. I think it's huge because I think that
- 17:14Speaker 2: sometimes those messages hit harder from another recruit than they
- 17:18Speaker 2: do from a coach. As far as names, I think
- 17:21Speaker 2: that this is probably one of those weekends to where
- 17:23Speaker 2: it's all hands on deck and just recruit anyone because
- 17:26Speaker 2: I feel like with this visitor list, My first recruiting
- 17:29Speaker 2: class I covered was 2013. So I've done this a while.
- 17:33Speaker 2: I've never seen a list like this at Florida before.
- 17:35Speaker 2: This is the strongest, deepest, however you want to paint
- 17:38Speaker 2: it list that I've ever seen since I've covered Florida.
- 17:40Speaker 2: So I mean, I think that at this point, it's
- 17:42Speaker 2: easier to answer who's not at Florida this weekend. So
- 17:45Speaker 2: I think that in this case, these guys are going
- 17:47Speaker 2: to be after any and everyone because there are a
- 17:49Speaker 2: ton of top targets in town.
- 17:51Speaker 1: When you look beyond the headlines, like you said, there's
- 17:54Speaker 1: a massive collection of 2028 guys and they're A lot
- 17:58Speaker 1: of Florida kids, Jacksonville, Tampa, South Florida, you've got IMG and,
- 18:02Speaker 1: you know, South Georgia nationally as well. But, you know,
- 18:07Speaker 1: is Saturday less about getting immediate commitments from the group
- 18:10Speaker 1: but more about establishing Florida as the place that these
- 18:15Speaker 1: kids associate with big-time football now?
- 18:18Speaker 2: I think with 2028, it's about establishing. If you want
- 18:22Speaker 2: someone to commit or someone wants to commit coming out
- 18:25Speaker 2: of the visit, like, depending on who they are and
- 18:27Speaker 2: where they are on the board, like all those questions
- 18:29Speaker 2: in there. But like, you're probably going to be more
- 18:31Speaker 2: primed to take them because momentum can carry you into
- 18:34Speaker 2: more of those things. But I think that what you're
- 18:37Speaker 2: going to want is you're like, you know, like I
- 18:38Speaker 2: said with Fred Arts, you know, would you love a
- 18:40Speaker 2: flip or a commitment this weekend? Absolutely. And I think
- 18:42Speaker 2: the same thing could be said about a lot of
- 18:43Speaker 2: 27 guys because Florida has 25 commits. Spots are limited.
- 18:47Speaker 2: You would rather have, know who's in your class, know
- 18:49Speaker 2: where things are at, not have all this drama and
- 18:51Speaker 2: chasing and all that while you're trying to coach, while
- 18:53Speaker 2: signing day is approaching. So I think that you'd rather
- 18:56Speaker 2: have things done, if not this weekend, sometime after if
- 18:59Speaker 2: you're dealing with a 27 guy. But sometimes we can't
- 19:02Speaker 2: pick and choose our battles there. So I think with 2028,
- 19:05Speaker 2: it's about establishing where you're at trajectory-wise, sort of laying
- 19:09Speaker 2: the bricks to that road of, hey, this is where
- 19:12Speaker 2: we're at. This is where our program's going. Because a
- 19:14Speaker 2: lot of those guys, not every 2028 guy is going
- 19:16Speaker 2: to be committing this early. Some have, and obviously we're
- 19:19Speaker 2: seeing that trend of guys committing earlier. As we go
- 19:22Speaker 2: each cycle, 2028, we've seen quarterback dominoes fall. We've seen
- 19:25Speaker 2: other guys commit. But, you know, I think that it's
- 19:27Speaker 2: certainly possible if someone wants to pull this trigger this
- 19:29Speaker 2: weekend because it's going to be a big matchup. If
- 19:31Speaker 2: you win, like you could get someone on some visit
- 19:33Speaker 2: high there. But I think bottom line with 2028 class
- 19:37Speaker 2: is just trying to set the future there. You get
- 19:39Speaker 2: a guy come back. You put Florida as the leader.
- 19:41Speaker 2: You sort of, you know, hang your hat in this
- 19:43Speaker 2: recruitment and you get a seat at that table. I
- 19:45Speaker 2: think that's maybe at the least what you want to
- 19:47Speaker 2: get out of this weekend. And I think that's what
- 19:48Speaker 2: Florida will get with a lot of these guys.
- 19:50Speaker 1: If Florida beats a top five Ole Miss team in
- 19:54Speaker 1: a packed swamp with this entire visiting list watching, how
- 19:58Speaker 1: significant could that be on the recruiting trail moving forward?
- 20:02Speaker 2: Oh, it's huge. Like, I mean, you have a win
- 20:04Speaker 2: like that. And I think when you look back to
- 20:06Speaker 2: what a lot of these recruits said once John Summerall
- 20:09Speaker 2: was hired, or let's say after they have the first
- 20:11Speaker 2: conversation with John Summerall. They've all, for the most part,
- 20:15Speaker 2: he was a winner. He's won everywhere he's been, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Like it's all circled back to just being a developer
- 20:21Speaker 2: of a program, putting these programs in national championship territory,
- 20:26Speaker 2: conference championship territory. So if you can do that, it's
- 20:28Speaker 2: sort of like, man, I told you guys I was
- 20:30Speaker 2: going to do that. Like that's kind of where I
- 20:32Speaker 2: think a lot of these guys will see it. And
- 20:33Speaker 2: you're doing it at a much bigger stage now at Florida.
- 20:35Speaker 2: So I think a win like that against a top
- 20:37Speaker 2: five team, going into 4-0 on your own after a
- 20:41Speaker 2: team like Florida would match their last season complete win
- 20:44Speaker 2: total this weekend and week four. So I think that
- 20:47Speaker 2: that would be huge. I think whenever you look at Florida,
- 20:50Speaker 2: the resources they have with NIL and their degree, everything
- 20:54Speaker 2: that's on campus, the program has done a great job
- 20:57Speaker 2: of putting guys in the NFL. And they love the
- 21:00Speaker 2: staff and the energy that's in there. Energy is something
- 21:02Speaker 2: we hear from everybody. But if you can finally put
- 21:05Speaker 2: that last you know, sort of stake in the fire
- 21:08Speaker 2: there of like, Hey, we have all this stuff. You know,
- 21:10Speaker 2: we have all this stuff, but now we're a program
- 21:12Speaker 2: on the rise. I think that that's, I mean, that's
- 21:14Speaker 2: like the missing piece that a lot of these guys
- 21:15Speaker 2: are waiting to see. And I think that that would
- 21:17Speaker 2: show that.
- 21:18Speaker 1: All right, guys, he is Blake Alderman. Blake, tell everybody
- 21:20Speaker 1: where they can check out your work, follow.
- 21:22Speaker 2: You on social media.
- 21:23Speaker 1: It's going to be a big weekend. So people might
- 21:24Speaker 1: want to follow along.
- 21:26Speaker 2: It will, it will. I'll be like the, like the

- 21:30Speaker 2: the bench. That'll be me after Saturday, but Gators online.
