- 0:00We will be talking about the movies, but we're going to start
- 0:02off by saying welcome back Matt. I hate you.
- 0:04I'm so jealous of where you have been.
- 0:10Welcome to Multiple Nerdgasm with your hosts Matt, Luke and
- 0:17Dan Multiple Nerdgasm, your guide to all things nerdy.
- 0:30No, I don't hear the. Term gay vacation this week,
- 0:33which is where you go away to do gay stuff.
- 0:36So I like that term. Is that where you were?
- 0:38Yeah. The gay patient took your wife.
- 0:41Couldn't have been that gay. No, it means it means pax.
- 0:44No. Yeah.
- 0:45You mean PAX? Yes.
- 0:46Yeah. I did packing it in.
- 0:48Yeah, Jenna and I went to PAX East.
- 0:50It was, it was good. It was good.
- 0:52I saw lots of photos. I want to be there with you.
- 0:57Yeah. I noticed one thing in the
- 0:59photos and we can come back to. I'm sure you've got a lot to
- 1:01talk about, but just to bring it back to multiple Old Man's
- 1:05Health, Gatham. You're looking pretty trim,
- 1:07Matt, I must say. Those kicks.
- 1:09Yeah, A noticeable difference I reckon.
- 1:12Yeah, well, I mean, would you say I look like Harrison Ford in
- 1:16there? I mean, devil do.
- 1:19I haven't seen Harrison Ford in like a black T-shirt and skinny
- 1:22jeans, but if I did and I have you side by side, I'd be able
- 1:25to. I'd be able to.
- 1:26I'd say I'm just going to definitely say you're heading in
- 1:28the right direction. All right, great.
- 1:30Cheers. Yeah, thanks for that.
- 1:31Nice to mind you. Fuck, have you seen that picture
- 1:33of Harrison Ford back in his carpentry days?
- 1:36Just fucking given the peace sign?
- 1:37And he's literally just got natural ABS.
- 1:40Like just a natural. 6 Even now, as an old man Harrison, he's
- 1:43still. Listeners, listeners, guys are
- 1:45rolling out of their heads right now.
- 1:47Not this shit again. Fucking Harrison Ford again.
- 1:49Yeah, yeah, we like him. All right, get.
- 1:52A very attractive man. I'll go on a gaycation with him.
- 1:57Yeah, Paxis is good. It's again the big names, most
- 2:02of the big names not there, in fact, which on tiny build this
- 2:05year. Build.
- 2:07Yeah, which is interesting. I do like the big names aren't
- 2:10really there though. I like seeing the small stuff.
- 2:14You don't get as much cool free stuff though.
- 2:17I say no big names Gearbox was there.
- 2:18I'll talk about that a little bit so that that's still going
- 2:21up, which is I'm I'm happy about it because I do enjoy their
- 2:23panel. I don't remember Booth or
- 2:25anything I. Remember, we were there for
- 2:27Borderlands 2, but that came out, yeah, all those many years
- 2:31ago. Fucking long time ago at this
- 2:33point highlights were there's a game called Goblin Town Colon,
- 2:40really hard driving game. The Goblin Town I think is a
- 2:43publisher I'm trying to trying to make.
- 2:45Sense of that, I was like, Goblin game, I'm fucking in.
- 2:48It's called Really hard driving game.
- 2:50It is as advertised it seems. That booth was like a big goblin
- 2:55food truck, which it was fucking cool.
- 2:57It was a really fucking cool book.
- 2:59Good food. I didn't have any food as far as
- 3:01I could tell. Oh right, I see.
- 3:03Just had games looks. Like a food cup and it was
- 3:04games. Yeah, I see.
- 3:05Yeah. I mean, there is food at packs.
- 3:07I thought maybe they were putting on a bit of a spread.
- 3:10But the game is, it's really hard driving game where you
- 3:12drive really fast in a food truck on these levels that are
- 3:15like, you know, tricky and you drive off the edge of the Cliff
- 3:18or whatever. And the thing that made me laugh
- 3:20about it is that if you want to slow down, you have to scream
- 3:23into the microphone. You scream anything or you have
- 3:30to scream. Slow down.
- 3:33And then? Slow down a.
- 3:35Bit. So ipso facto, if you hadn't
- 3:38decided to slow down, but you'd realized you were going too fast
- 3:41and just freaked out, it would slow down.
- 3:44Slow down, the boys scream. Yeah.
- 3:46So they had, they had people playing together like, like a a
- 3:49bunch of screens set up and then disappear.
- 3:51What they got. Oh God, yeah.
- 3:55Amazing, amazing. So that was very funny.
- 3:59There's I saw two point and click adventure games in PAX
- 4:03Rising which I was like 2. Yeah, there's a lot of there
- 4:06there. There's a lot of places that
- 4:07have started to work on them because people have worked out
- 4:09that people still like them. Hell yeah, we do.
- 4:13So there's one called world light No time to trip, which was
- 4:16interesting name. It's like the pre rendered
- 4:19background type where I suppose a lot of them are.
- 4:23But you know, it's very, very, I guess you'd say like advanced
- 4:31art in a way that pixel art's not.
- 4:33That's not right describing that well, but you know, more like
- 4:37Longest Journey and some of those 90s point and click games
- 4:40where they had a very nice 3D. Yeah, yeah.
- 4:43Yeah, right. And then there's another one
- 4:46called Perfect Tides Station to Station, which was pixel art
- 4:49point click. So yeah, both types.
- 4:54Well, when we go to PAX Australia, we'll be sure to
- 4:57point let you know which ones they have here because I know
- 5:01you've been following one of them.
- 5:02Which which one? Yeah, at least yeah.
- 5:04I was looking around for for power hoof, they weren't there
- 5:07but. They're Australian, I believe
- 5:09they are. They're from Melbourne, yeah.
- 5:11So we'll, we'll get you an interview with them.
- 5:14I would love to talk to you to Dave from Power Hoof because I
- 5:18use his when I do attempt to make point and click adventure
- 5:21games of my own. I use his Unity add on called
- 5:24Power Quest that he made. Excellent.
- 5:29Yes, Borderlands 4 panel that's coming out in September.
- 5:32Looks great. Yeah, I mean.
- 5:36What's the setting of this? So at the end of Borderlands 3,
- 5:41apparently you blasted the the thing that was going to destroy
- 5:46Pandora somewhere else in the universe.
- 5:50And so you're on a new planet now, in that new place.
- 5:54I'm going to put money. It's going to look pretty much
- 5:56the same. It looks quite similar.
- 6:00I didn't change it too much. The enemies are probably going
- 6:04to be, let's say you. Don't want to alienate the the
- 6:07Borderlands. Audience that's right.
- 6:10I don't. While the story is fun, I think
- 6:12the fun part is playing with other people and just silly
- 6:16stuff happening. So that's.
- 6:17One of the things except Randy was there, obviously Randy
- 6:19Pitchford, he was talking about they as always dedicated to
- 6:24Co-op. Yeah, they're one of the he
- 6:26said. I don't know why more games
- 6:28don't do this still. Like we are 100% this game is a
- 6:31Co-op game. And yet I will still not play it
- 6:34Co-op because. Yeah, I've never, we don't have
- 6:36to. That's a great single player
- 6:38game. But we also, yeah, look, split
- 6:41screen and all that stuff still. I think where if I'm the other
- 6:44way, I think too many games are doing Co-op where it works in
- 6:47this game, This game I find it works because you can drop in
- 6:51drop out. It's just.
- 6:52More even more of that too. Apparently you could drop in
- 6:55because you know the we've we've done this before with
- 6:57Borderlands 2 in particular. We played tons of that like
- 7:00where drop in drop out and it works really well but the
- 7:03levelling is a little weird. Well, remember, because I joined
- 7:05with my character and I'd finished the game when you and
- 7:07Jenna just starting and I was just one shopping everything
- 7:09where you were. Yeah, apparently.
- 7:12I mean, I'd have to see it, but this that that's even handled
- 7:16even better in four where? Yeah, I know they fixed it in
- 7:19three, but I don't know I. Just don't know how that works
- 7:22but then but you also you get like instance loot and stuff
- 7:26which I think 3 had but but even more so where like yeah, if you
- 7:30join, I guess somehow the enemies are harder for you than
- 7:35they are for us Yeah enemies. I don't know how the fuck.
- 7:38They I don't know how they do it, but it works.
- 7:40It's. Yeah, it's weird.
- 7:42How does that work? Yeah, I don't know.
- 7:45More of your bullets, less of his bullets.
- 7:48Something like that, like, yeah, it's interesting.
- 7:50I'm not quite sure. I noticed something about
- 7:53Minecraft today that I didn't know.
- 7:56If someone else is in your game, you can't go to sleep unless
- 7:58they want to go to sleep. That's true.
- 8:00That's been around for quite some time.
- 8:02That makes sense. And I'd lost my bed.
- 8:04So I went back and I built a bed and then I think you saw me rage
- 8:09quit a couple of times, yes. I do just go like killed cripple
- 8:14has left. They're gonna have any kid and
- 8:20just when I get good stuff and I go alright, it's time to turn,
- 8:23turn back and that's when it happens and they're.
- 8:25All turn around What actually? Less annoyed about being killed
- 8:29than I am about people creeping up on me during the day and
- 8:32exploding and fucking bringing my fucking house down.
- 8:36That's happened to me several times.
- 8:39And today a witch poisoned me which was annoying.
- 8:43The witch is not too bad. While it's annoying, it won't
- 8:45kill you it. Can't kill you.
- 8:48What are you talking about? No.
- 8:49It's going to drain my health. Oh, does it?
- 8:52I think it gets you down to 1 heart.
- 8:54Oh. I've made you susceptible to
- 8:55killing. Yes, Yeah.
- 8:59Well, I don't know. I was just full health.
- 9:01I had full hunger so we'll what have you put it and it kept it
- 9:07kept me at that one heart and now go back.
- 9:10So maybe it was just I was it. What do you full hunger?
- 9:14Hunger. I think if we start like a
- 9:15classic rock band, the name should be full.
- 9:17Hunger. Full hunger.
- 9:18That's a. Great name.
- 9:23The price of Borderlands 4 did AQ and a thing at the end one of
- 9:27the questions was how much is it going to cost?
- 9:28Because as I'm sure you've probably seen, there's been some
- 9:31controversy about the switch to game prices and also GTA 6 is
- 9:38going to be more expensive. And so someone said how much is
- 9:41Borderlands 4 going to cost? And Randy was like, well, he
- 9:49said. I don't know for sure because
- 9:51it's up to the publisher, but probably it's going to be a
- 9:55price that people may not initially be happy with, but it
- 9:59is worth it. And.
- 10:01And games have never been cheaper so.
- 10:04And that's. What inflation wise and
- 10:06everything? That's why I keep going back to
- 10:07it. It's not really been a price
- 10:10increase in games since ever. But they, I don't know man,
- 10:14fucking the I. I kind of want the Assassin's
- 10:19Creed right now, but it is over $100.
- 10:23Like they've yeah, right. Like now we're starting to see
- 10:26kind of yeah, like, but what's going to be it's.
- 10:30Going to be 130, yeah, but that's.
- 10:33But games were always 100 forever.
- 10:36It's only now that it's starting to creep up.
- 10:38And I think the problem. Is here was like the norm for.
- 10:42Decades but. We were, yeah, we were so long.
- 10:44And the games were $50. Well.
- 10:46Everything else is creeping up. Console prices, computer prices,
- 10:49everything's going up. Games have just been 50 bucks
- 10:51but. You want to know what the issue
- 10:53is? The issue is now.
- 10:55The problem is is it's not. We don't buy the one game
- 10:57anymore. Yeah, true.
- 10:59So that's why you feel it's hitting you more, because you're
- 11:01buying more games. True, if it was back to our one
- 11:04a year you're like fucking Skyrim that's worth $100.
- 11:06I'll play it every. Day for a year, yes.
- 11:08When I was a kid I thought they were fucking expensive.
- 11:10Yes. And I'm like, is that just
- 11:13because I was a kid and didn't have any money, but actually
- 11:14they were more expensive? They just were.
- 11:17Yeah, yeah. So, yeah.
- 11:20So that that's the thing. It's probably going to be 80
- 11:23here, whatever that is there. Fucking our dollar is trading
- 11:28against the USD so poorly right now.
- 11:30It's basically 5050 again. Thanks so far I should.
- 11:33Try putting tariffs on stuff. Works great.
- 11:37Oh, we've got some tariff news too.
- 11:39OK. Coming up.
- 11:40Oh yeah, not. As we do, but from.
- 11:42Going to throw the tea in the harbour again are.
- 11:44You well, actually the tariff is going to hit the tariff is going
- 11:47to hit some of the stuff coming out of packs.
- 11:50Yeah. Yeah, definitely will.
- 11:55We watch Acquisition Zinc live as usual.
- 11:56Very good, very amusing. Love it.
- 11:59That's a live DND game if you don't know what it is, and
- 12:01notable in this case because Chris Perkins was the DM again
- 12:06and he has retired from his role at Wizards of the Coast, so this
- 12:09might be the last time we see him do something like this.
- 12:12Oh. He's he's, he's completed his,
- 12:16his quest Wizards of the Coast. Are you being all coy about this
- 12:20because he touched somebody and has been sacked or no, he's
- 12:23just. No, no, he's just retiring.
- 12:25You just got to literally. I'm done.
- 12:28Yeah. They said retiring.
- 12:29These days I'm shocked when I hear people leaving companies
- 12:32because they haven't touched anybody.
- 12:33He may well have just retired full stop for all.
- 12:36I don't know how much money he makes doing this stuff, but
- 12:38yeah, he's no longer going to be Wizards.
- 12:41And Jeremy Crawford, the other guy who was doing the running
- 12:44from retired as well. Or or left.
- 12:47I guess you don't know. Wouldn't leave Wizards to I
- 12:49don't know, like that seems to me the pinnacle of like if
- 12:51you're into that, you want a job in in that right they.
- 12:55Have been like bought out and I think got more corporate and
- 12:58more sure. He probably doesn't have much
- 13:01creative controls he used to. I get the sense Wizards is.
- 13:06Is it because not like it used to be a company now?
- 13:08Hasbro brought them out, wasn't it?
- 13:10Correct. Yeah.
- 13:12So. And it's been a while, but over
- 13:15time they're just been more like there's things like, you know,
- 13:19everyone's using DND Beyond now, and DND Beyond is great, but if
- 13:24you've got physical books, you can't use those on it, right?
- 13:28So, so I have to explain, I guess for people who don't know
- 13:30what the fuck I'm talking about. When you play DND, you create a
- 13:33character and you have spells and abilities and all that kind
- 13:36of stuff, and you can get those from a book.
- 13:38The book tells you what you can have and all that kind of stuff.
- 13:41And that can be complicated and overwhelming.
- 13:44And DND Beyond is an online thing that makes it easier where
- 13:46you can just say, I'm a barbarian, I've got this skill,
- 13:49I've got this thing, whatever. And you click and select them
- 13:52all and it kind of just says, here's your character sheet.
- 13:54This is the stuff you can do. And for a while, you have to
- 13:59rebuy all the stuff that you owned, right?
- 14:02So I own literally a fucking stack of DND books.
- 14:06There no good to mean DND Beyond, because not only do I
- 14:09not have access to that stuff because I have to buy the book
- 14:12again on DND Beyond, if you try and add them, you can home brew
- 14:17stuff. If you add them on there, they
- 14:19look for content from the books and they'll they'll they'll go
- 14:26kick it off there. Yeah, No, no, no.
- 14:28You got to pay for that, mate. Yeah, I fucking did pay for I
- 14:30got I. Can fucking prove it.
- 14:33Some of my house. Yeah, but anyway, and they've
- 14:36gotten more stingy with that stuff and now to the point where
- 14:38it used to be you could buy like a la carte things like say
- 14:44you've got like, say you buy the Player's Handbook so you can
- 14:47make a basic character and then you like, I have this other book
- 14:50that I bought and I want one of the spells from it.
- 14:52You could just buy that spell now.
- 14:54You can you have to buy the whole book so.
- 14:58I'm trying to see a lot of D&D stuff like YouTube channels and
- 15:01stuff, which is just really dumbing down the rules.
- 15:04Basically, if you've and just, I mean, that's very, very simple.
- 15:08For the yeah, for entertainment purposes, I can see that makes
- 15:12sense. Like acquisitions of Inc is not,
- 15:16I guess really how you would do D&D.
- 15:18It isn't like is it's more a show as.
- 15:20Well. It's actually incredibly boring
- 15:23to watch people play it properly if you're not allowed to
- 15:25participate. Yeah, because a critical it's
- 15:28just people thing. Doing maths on.
- 15:30Pieces of paper. And so I've got some since we're
- 15:33on the subject, right? There's two things I've put in
- 15:35here that I thought were really interesting that we saw in PAX.
- 15:37One is quickly just quickly Braille dice, right?
- 15:42And I was like, of course. And I said to the guy, I'm like,
- 15:45oh, it's one of those things you just assume, yeah, of course
- 15:48that exists. And he goes, well, it didn't.
- 15:49And I'll fucking tell you why. Because it was really, really
- 15:52hard. Oh yeah, because it would change
- 15:55the way the dice roll. Yeah.
- 15:57And yeah, yeah, right. He's like, nowhere manufactured
- 16:01them, and he was trying to find somewhere that even could
- 16:04manufacture them. And it was really hard because
- 16:05the dice are such a cheap commodity.
- 16:08Yeah. And you need precision in a way
- 16:10that they just weren't able to do for Braille.
- 16:14And I say, oh, that's fantastic. Yeah, right.
- 16:15Because yeah, they're trying to how random they are with the
- 16:18weight of it and the. Because numbers, I mean are
- 16:21numbers in Braille just the amount of dots for that number.
- 16:25No, there's more like. On AD 20, is the 20 just really
- 16:28loaded? Will always land face down.
- 16:32This is them dots, Braille dice, and oh.
- 16:36They look cool. Yes, but the end.
- 16:40Now there's more to it than that.
- 16:41There's like lines and stuff to because you can't fit 20 dots
- 16:44on. Yeah, I guess.
- 16:47And it also, it'd be very, wouldn't it be sort of hard like
- 16:4919 to 20? I don't know.
- 16:51Yeah, when there's like a there's like a section, each
- 16:54side has like a rim on it and there's a section cut out and
- 16:57that tells you what the where the bottom is.
- 16:59So when you're holding it, you can tell, as you say.
- 17:02Oh, wow. Yeah, there's a lot to that.
- 17:03Because now I'm trying to think of other ways that you are
- 17:06hindered by being blind playing DNA.
- 17:09But I suppose. That would be the main.
- 17:11One that would yeah, that would be the main one, having to ask
- 17:14somebody what you rolled or I'm sorry, snake eyes again, mate,
- 17:16that's. A natural one you're not.
- 17:21You've got the other one was open the Gates, which is I've
- 17:27got the link in the show notes and it's just about making games
- 17:31more accessible because not in the dumbing down sense out of
- 17:35the rules or anything, but in the sense that and you, I mean,
- 17:39I've certainly played with people who struggle with this
- 17:41when the DM says, what do you want to do?
- 17:44And there you go. Everyone just sits there, Yeah.
- 17:48Yeah, because it's like some some people are just naturally
- 17:51good at making fucking shit up on the fly and others are not.
- 17:55And then and So what they've got is these action sheets that
- 17:59they've made for. There's one for, one for action
- 18:02and one for, like, just general role play.
- 18:05And it basically just says when someone says what do you want to
- 18:07do? It's just a list of prompts that
- 18:08say like, well, here's what you could do.
- 18:10Yeah. You know, it's a conversation.
- 18:12Like you say, how do I trust this person?
- 18:13Yeah. And like, yeah.
- 18:16That's good to me, because actually it's not always
- 18:18intuitive. No, no and like.
- 18:20To to new players. Right, It's not something like I
- 18:24I love that part of it. So and like like improv and just
- 18:27fucking around and, and, but other people I know don't.
- 18:30They just want to roll the dice and that bit, it confuses.
- 18:34Them. You should have seen me and Luke
- 18:36freaking everybody out at the fucking role play tables.
- 18:41Yeah. They're like, it was this thing
- 18:43of angels in the city and, and wearing this casino and and
- 18:46there's like this, this waitress was helping us and he's like,
- 18:50OK, So what do you want to do now?
- 18:51And looks like I want to follow that waitress back to the change
- 18:54room and, and the guy's like, she's giving you all the
- 18:57information she needs and he's like.
- 19:01Gonna follow on her. Back and he's like, she's not
- 19:03going there, she's going down to a car.
- 19:05He's like, can I follow her to the parking lot?
- 19:07But. Even remember the first time we
- 19:11ever played D&D and one of the first things I want to do was to
- 19:14curb stomp someone who was meant to be life friendly introducers
- 19:19to the game and I murdered him. I was talking to somebody the
- 19:21other day about you fucking idiots playing D&D game.
- 19:26The space is what we did, where it's like there's like an hour
- 19:30of you guys in the fucking. Just trying.
- 19:33To get a sandwich. And then I was like, it's so
- 19:38silly, but like, it was fun, so who gives a shit?
- 19:42Yeah, you could do whatever you want recently.
- 19:45And the guy's like, you should come and join our game.
- 19:48And I'm like, you know, and he's like, no, no, no, we don't take
- 19:51it too seriously. And I'm like, you still take it
- 19:53more seriously than I think. Yeah, but yes, so they, they
- 20:02have prompt sheets, which I thought would be really helpful
- 20:03for the people I've, I've literally played with people who
- 20:06struggle with that, whether they say, what do you want to do?
- 20:08And then they're like, just tell me what to roll because I can't.
- 20:10But just can't, right? Well, sometimes they could even
- 20:14just be like, it's their first time.
- 20:15They're just nervous, like, yeah.
- 20:17So this can just be, well, that. Kind of thing doesn't
- 20:19necessarily come natural to people.
- 20:21Like we've done performance stuff like it's just, you know,
- 20:25we've practiced it I guess is a way to say it.
- 20:28Whereas what people just haven't?
- 20:30Yeah, yeah. No, that's a great idea.
- 20:34Yeah, so they're really cool. I'll link to those in the show
- 20:35notes. Yeah, so those are the main
- 20:39highlights. I think there's one of the thing
- 20:42I wanted to mention. I managed to get my hands on an
- 20:45OD diner. So jealous.
- 20:47I don't know. If you can see it, it's behind
- 20:49me over there now because they're completely sold out
- 20:51online but I guess they still had a bunch of them.
- 20:54And on the Friday this is IM 8 bit we were walking around and I
- 20:59saw they had a stack of them and I was like oh fuck I left one of
- 21:01those. Next morning I went back to
- 21:03thought maybe I'll see if I can get one for dear God, I know he
- 21:06wants 1. Yeah, gone.
- 21:07Not only that, half the fucking booth was gone Saturday morning.
- 21:12They just like everything they had because I didn't even I was
- 21:15like, is this the wrong booth? They had all this stuff and it's
- 21:18like, no. She's quite crazy because
- 21:19Friday's the quiet day. Saturday at PAX, Saturday
- 21:23morning I got there. I mean, we had to sleep in
- 21:26because. But still.
- 21:30And that reminds me of when I tried to get the the Bluey
- 21:35Garden. Gnomes.
- 21:36And it was like, not just were there none, but there was a hole
- 21:39where the table used to be. Like people had fucking taken
- 21:44everything. People had taken the sign that
- 21:47said that where they were. Yeah, yeah.
- 21:54So anyway, yeah, sorry about I I genuinely was going to get you
- 21:57one. And then they drink.
- 21:58Some coffee and and reclaim your health.
- 22:01Yeah. Although in the second one all
- 22:03you do it, all the thermos does is save, right?
- 22:06Oh, that's right. Yeah.
- 22:07Yeah, you're right. I love though in the first one
- 22:10you're collecting pages of a manuscript and you're drinking
- 22:12coffee to, yeah, boost health. If only it was a better.
- 22:17Game a Rider. The first one, yeah.
- 22:21Great story game not bad. I'd still enjoy it, but.
- 22:24No, not bad, not bad. I played it twice.
- 22:26That's good. I still love the fact that the
- 22:29chapters I quite liked as I'm going to stop playing the game
- 22:32now and I'll come back to it because there's an actual
- 22:34stopping point. Yeah, yeah.
- 22:37Yeah. Yeah, so that's Pax London.
- 22:43Oh, I mean, while we're on the topic, So I was, Yeah, we were
- 22:46in Boston for the weekend. Yep.
- 22:49Lyra was a grandma, so we could kind of do things as if we were,
- 22:54you know, we're, we're, we're not parents.
- 22:56And so we were able to go to the movies.
- 22:59Hey, what did you see? Nate, no need to yell at me
- 23:02anyway, he knows this. I've already mentioned this to
- 23:03him on threads, but I saw Sinners.
- 23:09How have you seen it yet? No, I hadn't.
- 23:11No, I haven't seen it and I had not heard that it even existed
- 23:15until suddenly everyone was talking about it.
- 23:17The same. And then I was like, I want to
- 23:19go see it. OK, Do you know what it's about?
- 23:21I don't want to spoil. Anything.
- 23:22No idea. OK, No, not at all.
- 23:25Oh. No black vampires.
- 23:28I've just read the first line and I'm what?
- 23:31So So what you just said Dan is apparently more than Jenna knew
- 23:36because halfway through the movie when it was revealed
- 23:41because it would lack up to about.
- 23:43I don't want to spoil anything for people, but like it happened
- 23:45to about halfway through. It's just not clear.
- 23:47Like, you know, it's. Not for Luke and I, listeners.
- 23:49Skip ahead. We're scholars.
- 23:51Yeah, we can. Discuss these It's a vampire
- 23:53movie. Yeah.
- 23:55Oh, is it one of those ones where you don't really know like
- 23:58from? No.
- 23:58And I, I knew, so I hadn't really thought about it, but it
- 24:01got to halfway through and then there was like a vampire there.
- 24:04And then Jenna was like, are you fucking kidding me?
- 24:07Like, she just got really excited.
- 24:10And I was like, oh, yeah, did you not know that that's what
- 24:12this was Just no. Oh, fuck.
- 24:14All right. She just knew it was heard.
- 24:17It was really, really good horror movie.
- 24:19Yeah. Set in in the South.
- 24:22And it is. It is that also.
- 24:24Is it also a musical I mean? Sort of, no?
- 24:29'Cause that's not that that that shocked me, 'cause on Wikipedia
- 24:32it's got sinners. It's a 2025 American musical
- 24:34horror film. Yeah, it is in the in the music
- 24:37is heavily part of the play. OK, 'cause yeah, what I think
- 24:41musical, I think they're gonna story breaking out into song.
- 24:44Well they so it's about two twins, both played by Michael B
- 24:47Jordan, which I also didn't know until I saw it.
- 24:49And then he's literally fucking 2 characters in this.
- 24:52They were like, fucking what can we do that's better than having
- 24:55Michael B Jordan in a movie? Just let him play all the
- 24:57characters. It was an interview because we
- 25:00started the Alamo. Yeah, they do the the stuff up
- 25:03the front. There's two things they did.
- 25:04This is Saturday Night Live sketch where he's Jake from
- 25:07State Farm, which is like one of the insurance companies.
- 25:09And that was very funny. I'll try And finally to that and
- 25:13there was an interview with Ryan Coogler, the director, where he
- 25:17said I forget the context was, but he just started talking
- 25:21about, you know, like, you know, we've got a lot of supernatural,
- 25:26you know, God like stuff going on this.
- 25:28But you guys need to remember he's only human.
- 25:30I mean, I know you look at him and you go, but he's only human
- 25:34too. Yeah, 2 of him, but it's about
- 25:41it's in the South after like the emancipation, I guess.
- 25:44And they're like the like the black community.
- 25:48They're still, a lot of them are still working on plantations,
- 25:51but they're free technique. I don't quite know how all that
- 25:54stuff worked, but it's about two brothers, 2 twins who went to
- 25:58Chicago, came back with money and they buy this old, I think
- 26:05an old mill or abattoir or something, this old shed thing
- 26:09and they're going to make a Juke joint.
- 26:11They want to have music and stuff and that's what it's
- 26:13about. It's like they go around and get
- 26:16all the local musicians and then part of The thing is that some
- 26:20people have this ability to create music that connects us
- 26:26all and crosses time and space. And it's like, so music is like
- 26:32super part of the. Dead vampires.
- 26:36And it's like kind of bluegrassy, like oven.
- 26:39Yeah, but it's like fucking. The soundtrack is amazing.
- 26:42This is Ludwig Garnson. And it's like, because he and
- 26:45Brian Coogler are good friends. And it starts out like, yeah,
- 26:49it's all Blues and, and what you would expect.
- 26:52Like they've got guitars and harmonicas and and they're doing
- 26:54stuff. But then there's a sequence in
- 26:55it where this guy, the main character, performs for the
- 26:59first time. And it's like, you see the
- 27:01music? It's like this not musical in a
- 27:06in a traditional sense, but like it, it suddenly blends in.
- 27:09You've got like this modern hip hop and then suddenly there's
- 27:11like, like, you know, Public Enemy are there as well in this
- 27:15like montage. And then there's like these
- 27:16tribal people they're dancing too.
- 27:18And it's like the cameras move. It's fucking cool.
- 27:21OK. And later on as the Vampires
- 27:25show up, the score gets this John Carpenter synth style stuff
- 27:30added and then metal guitars and drums.
- 27:33But with the Blues, it's really good.
- 27:37All right, I might try and see it then.
- 27:40I recommend it. It's.
- 27:41Cool. It's not perfect, it confused me
- 27:44a bit, mostly the third act confused me a bit, but still
- 27:48good. Yeah, OK.
- 27:50And and Nate is now off your back.
- 27:55Yeah, OK. It looks like it hasn't shown up
- 27:56yet. That's all right.
- 27:58Oh yeah, yeah, No, no, it's very apparently it's going to be on.
- 28:01Well, it's going to be on a streaming service that we've
- 28:04also got some news about. Oh yeah, July so.
- 28:07Draw's not Draw's pretty quick. So Luke and I have this.
- 28:12Is not a big film technically, except it's been people were
- 28:16like this is fucking sick and so now it's become a big film.
- 28:19Yeah, yeah. But it's good when that happens,
- 28:22when word of mouth makes good films noticeable just because
- 28:26people have seen them gone. This is really good.
- 28:28Because this. Is why he wanted to make it.
- 28:30It was they made it quickly. It was just like he wanted to
- 28:33make this thing and so you just get this fucking thing made and
- 28:35then it was not like a big, you know, production or anything.
- 28:39But This is why I always think like opening box office numbers
- 28:42isn't the thing you should be judging a film on, it's the the
- 28:45afterlife of that. Like how many people are going
- 28:47to see it after that shows if it's a good movie or not.
- 28:52Because that word of mouth and people go, oh, I want to say
- 28:54that again. The first weekend, you don't
- 28:56know what you're getting yourself.
- 28:57Into this one really was like that.
- 28:58I believe it came out and everyone was like no one was
- 29:02seeing it until some somebody somewhere saw it and was like
- 29:05guys. Yeah.
- 29:08Go see this. Yep, there's night.
- 29:14The last time I think that really happened to me was when,
- 29:18Matt, you told me to go and watch Ex Machina, and I was, oh,
- 29:21yeah, I've never fucking heard of this.
- 29:23And I was like, oh, ask Isaacs. Yeah, I like him, but where's
- 29:26this movie coming from? And then I watched.
- 29:28I was like, holy shit, I've got to tell literally everybody to
- 29:31see this. Movie.
- 29:31I didn't probably put it in, but there's a rumor Alex Garland is
- 29:37going to do an Elder Ring movie but I thought he wasn't doing
- 29:42movies anymore. I don't know.
- 29:46Elden Ring could be interesting but.
- 29:48He started off as a novelist. Maybe he's going back to that.
- 29:51I've read a couple of his books, maybe all of them actually.
- 29:56Elden Ring would be a weird movie I think.
- 29:58I don't know how that would be a.
- 30:00Movie I've not played enough of elden Ring to know what the
- 30:02story is, to know how difficult it would be to.
- 30:04Because it is far too hard a game for me to be able to play
- 30:08it's. Just one of those games that I
- 30:10feel like the plot is services the game in a way that it would
- 30:14be strange to detach it from the game.
- 30:18Yeah, maybe I'm just not. But also I think.
- 30:21Island. So maybe he's got a way to do
- 30:23that. Yeah, we'll wait and see, but.
- 30:26I was going to say, that's kind of every video game movie.
- 30:30Yeah, unless they write their completely own story.
- 30:33I'm trying to think of any that I thought, no, that was just a
- 30:35great analogue from, from one to the other.
- 30:38Because you know there's a do you know there's a Bioshock
- 30:41series in development right now? Oh yeah, and.
- 30:43I'm like, how is that? I mean.
- 30:46Sometimes I think. Are they going to have series?
- 30:47Would you kindly they're going to have all that in there or are
- 30:49they going to? Have and that's why sometimes I
- 30:50think a television series is a better way to go because you can
- 30:54stretch out that story, whereas you've got like a movie where
- 30:56you're going to try and packing all this law and story.
- 30:59That's where you struggle. So maybe it will work well for
- 31:04it because evidently, like The Last of Us, people enjoy that.
- 31:08I've not seen it, but I. Haven't watched it either.
- 31:12I tried. I watched the bit of the first
- 31:13episode and I was like, I don't like the tone of it so I'll.
- 31:16Leave it. But yeah, I've got no connection
- 31:17to the game at all so. No, I've played some of it well.
- 31:24Characters just aren't pretty enough.
- 31:26The Internet has has spoken. Yeah, kind of drama around that,
- 31:32because so much drama about all that stuff these days.
- 31:34Fuck off. Well, yeah, people being
- 31:38beautiful, that's really a Hollywood thing.
- 31:39It's not a UK thing. Yeah, and like, I mean, I get it
- 31:44if you've played a game. I mean, we all complained when
- 31:47we heard that Geralt was going to be played by.
- 31:51Cavill. Yeah, Henry Cavill.
- 31:53We're like, how is that even going to work?
- 31:55And then we saw the picture. We're like, oh, yeah, OK.
- 31:58And we saw the first episode in that one long shot where he's
- 32:00just fucking stabbing guy after guy after guy.
- 32:02Well, Oh yeah, this is fucking excellent.
- 32:04Yeah. It wasn't until that first
- 32:06episode that I was sold, but like, yeah, he fucking smashed
- 32:09it. Yeah, literally.
- 32:12He was just so fucking athletically.
- 32:15I know. And it went like Henry Kevin.
- 32:17Fuck no, not that guy. And then it was like they fought
- 32:20Henry cow. Are you kidding me?
- 32:22Yeah, he could do. It yeah, I still don't know if
- 32:24he got if he got screwed over it or this was something that was
- 32:28planned for him to go. Sorry, I'm leaving to go do
- 32:30Superman. Oh, I'm not Superman anymore.
- 32:34Because it seems like a big thing to get out of your
- 32:37contract for making TV show to go over and then it's not there.
- 32:42Yeah, but now he gets to do Warhammer and 40,000.
- 32:44Yeah. I'm all in for that, yeah.
- 32:46Is that still happening though? Highlanders got sold off.
- 32:49Oh yeah, I saw the other day. Lionsgate sold it because
- 32:53they're like, Oh yeah, Amazon's doing it now.
- 32:57Yeah, but they've got a start date, so OK shooting.
- 33:00Yeah, because it's still happening then.
- 33:02It's just interesting that they were like.
- 33:03Yes, it was all. And then they were like, you
- 33:05know what? We don't want to do this.
- 33:07Does anyone else want to do it? Yeah, yeah, I wanted to Quaser.
- 33:10And I'm like, you better not fuck Highlander.
- 33:11She's like, I don't know what you're talking about.
- 33:13You better not fuck Henry Cavill.
- 33:17Pretty sure I get a Henry Cavill hall pass.
- 33:19Yeah, I'll have a Henry Cavill vacation for sure.
- 33:25I've got some Henry Cavill news I've covered in here very
- 33:28quickly. It's not really news, it's just
- 33:30that, and I started talking about this last week, but I have
- 33:32watched Man of Steel and Batman V Superman in the last fortnight
- 33:36did. You and I'm sorry you're excited
- 33:39about James Gunn Superman. Yeah, I'm fucking so excited
- 33:42about Superman. These are underrated
- 33:45masterpieces. They're floored masterpieces,
- 33:47I'll give it that. They're not perfect, but oh.
- 33:49Boy. Cavill's Superman is he's so
- 33:57good he's so not the problem. What if what if Superman wasn't
- 34:01even sure if he should be Superman or if he even liked
- 34:04people or if people liked him? Like sure, what a fucking movie.
- 34:11And what if everything around him just blew up?
- 34:13Just what if he didn't want to kill everyone?
- 34:16Anybody but in in fighting, one dude killed thousands.
- 34:24I love it. And I fucking.
- 34:26And then what if he what if we teamed him up with Batman, who
- 34:30was just so fucking sick of being Batman in real life that
- 34:34it transcended into the movie? See, I still feel sorry for
- 34:39Affleck because I think he could have been a great Batman.
- 34:42And I'll say this the amount well and I'm trying to think
- 34:47when Batman V Superman came out, had Wonder Woman standalone
- 34:51movie already come out or not? I don't think it had.
- 34:53No, I. Think this was that was her
- 34:55first time we saw Wonder Woman and what what a perfect amount
- 35:00of Gal Gadot to have in a movie you know just.
- 35:05Yeah, it's not. Much for us to go.
- 35:07Fuck. She's beautiful and charismatic
- 35:09and charming, but not have to say too many lines.
- 35:13Yeah, sure. I'm here to get a photograph.
- 35:15OK, Intriguing. Hope.
- 35:17We've hope there's not a whole movie about this lately, because
- 35:20that will ruin it. But.
- 35:24Yeah, so you didn't. Did you rewatch Wonder Woman?
- 35:27No. No, no.
- 35:29No, I'm not like doing the DC EU.
- 35:31I'm just doing Henry Cavill. 'S I know women's odd one
- 35:34because I know everybody liked it.
- 35:36I liked it up until I didn't point and then I just really
- 35:39stopped liking it. Like I've only watched.
- 35:42It the. I thought it was aggressively
- 35:43unlikeable and the sequel was so shit the.
- 35:47Sequel. Did like it because I'm like.
- 35:50What's this garbage? The sequel made no sense.
- 35:53Like it fortunately made no. Sense.
- 35:57I haven't seen that one. Yeah, I guess maybe I should at
- 36:00some point. I'm just watching the trailer
- 36:03for Superman at the moment. Like right in this second.
- 36:06Yeah, Yeah. OK, Well, look, I'm.
- 36:08Here I'm just watching it. I just saw right?
- 36:10I love. About Superman, what I love
- 36:12about Superman is that you can have Henry Cavill fucking
- 36:15brooding, dark, hardly any colour in it, and 50% of people
- 36:19go that's not Superman. And 50 people go fuck and you
- 36:22don't deserve Cavill, bring him back.
- 36:23And then you can do the complete opposite where Superman's just
- 36:25out in the day, everything's brightly coloured, he's fucking
- 36:29and say 50% of the people go fuck and that's not Superman.
- 36:32And 50% of the people go, yeah, that's what we wanted all along.
- 36:35Why has he got a dog? Because he has a fuck.
- 36:37Because he's got a dog. He always had a fucking dog.
- 36:39And you know who else has got a dog?
- 36:42James Gunn, Yeah. Same dog.
- 36:45Superman and James Gunn, Yeah. Yeah, no, it's the there's a
- 36:50full trailer Superman. We'll link to it.
- 36:53Looks good. I think what ruins superhero
- 36:58movies for me is when the tone is not right and the tone looks
- 37:01absolutely fine. Another thing ruins it is that
- 37:04when somehow something happens and I don't like the actors, but
- 37:08I don't dislike these guys. Both of them, they're good,
- 37:11they're fine. This halt's good as looks good
- 37:13as Lex Luthor. Now, do we know is Gal Gadot, is
- 37:16she still Wonder Woman in this universe or is this like?
- 37:20I don't think so. Fresh, I think they got a fresh
- 37:22restart again like we're just. You know, in a weird way, I know
- 37:25she's not old, but I think she's too old now, like, for this
- 37:28universe. For yeah, because how I mean
- 37:30this Superman looks. 25 That's what I mean.
- 37:33I know I'd let her, but. Mega for it?
- 37:36Yeah, fucking hit me. But I think I.
- 37:39Think just OK, just don't talk while you're doing it please.
- 37:42Honestly, say your own things. Don't.
- 37:44Don't try to remember lines. Although they've still got
- 37:48Peacemaker and that stuff happening so.
- 37:50Yeah, that's true. I mean, I guarantee you that
- 37:54Michelle, Michelle what's, what's the Aussie from Oh Street
- 38:01and Neighbors. Robbie, Margot.
- 38:06Robbie, Margot. Robbie.
- 38:07Right, Right. Yeah.
- 38:08We'll be carried over, no questions.
- 38:11No, I was like, well, who? Oh, Harley Quinn.
- 38:13Harley Quinn, Yeah. Yes, that would be odd because
- 38:18yeah, some people are and some aren't, right?
- 38:22Am I? Yeah, Nathan, it's up to him, to
- 38:25previous, isn't it? Yeah, it's pretty cool.
- 38:27Well, it's good. When you're super good friends
- 38:29with the guys making it. I know, but it's like his
- 38:32career, he disappeared for a long time and then now he's.
- 38:35Well, he really disappeared. He just went to TV.
- 38:39Yeah, he's still doing the rookie.
- 38:41He was doing that. That's still going on at.
- 38:43Least my sister has to be so she will not shut up about the
- 38:46rookie. Oh yeah, I've never seen it, but
- 38:49it's I've never. Seen it I've.
- 38:51Never seen it. Still happening somehow.
- 38:55Maybe it's good. It must be at least a bit good,
- 38:59I think. Yeah.
- 39:01I need something new to watch. Maybe I'll maybe I'll check.
- 39:04That out, maybe you've done a try.
- 39:05Trying to force myself to watch and or not because I don't think
- 39:08I'll like it. But just because it.
- 39:10Takes, I don't know and. I don't know.
- 39:12Why is hard now? Because it's like.
- 39:14Yes, it takes a commitment to to put it on.
- 39:17Yeah. The problem is, is if it's good,
- 39:20you need to give this one the support.
- 39:22Otherwise you're not going to get other good stuff.
- 39:23But we're going to end up with. We've already told us we're not
- 39:26getting any more of this so. This will be the last 1 though.
- 39:30I think the reason why I think the reason this is like a
- 39:32breakup and. That your ex-girlfriend has
- 39:35given. You but no, I think the reason
- 39:37we're not getting rid of anymore and or is he's just going to
- 39:39lead directly into Rogue One and.
- 39:41Right. You can't do a sequel after.
- 39:44Spoilers. He dies.
- 39:46He dies, Yeah. And they don't kiss, they just
- 39:50hug when they know we're about to die.
- 39:53Well, they weren't really a romantic relationship, were
- 39:56they? And no, but if you knew you were
- 39:58about to die, you'd be like, start jerking me off.
- 40:04Let's see. Let's see if we can time this.
- 40:16In other Star Wars news, you know we talked before James Earl
- 40:19Jones sold them his. Voice.
- 40:21Rights for AI and apparently they've put that to use and
- 40:27there's a Vader in Fortnite that is AI.
- 40:32So you it kind of just says whatever the AI can.
- 40:36Whatever they want anyway, yeah. Oh, there were some issues with
- 40:40that apparently. And there's a video clip in this
- 40:42article I've linked of a streamer.
- 40:45It was just swearing back at people, basically.
- 40:49But hold on, it had to be scripted, right?
- 40:52No, it's AI power which. I think that's but it's not.
- 40:56Doesn't generate on the fly the script.
- 40:58Yes, it. Does, yeah.
- 40:59Fucking what? So they had to patch it because
- 41:02this streamer, what's her name, she's Australian Loser Fruit.
- 41:09She was as Padme in game. She was playing as Padme and
- 41:15said something about something about what?
- 41:17Freaking fucking food is this. Yeah, what freaking fucking food
- 41:21is this? Invaders.
- 41:21Like freaking fucking such profanity doesn't fit you,
- 41:24Padme. And they were like, like.
- 41:28Amazing. Yeah.
- 41:30That that's dangerous to. I always thought I want to.
- 41:33Hear him lay in the fucking smack down.
- 41:36Apparently there's more clips out there because they they
- 41:39literally they had to patch it because they were like oh fuck.
- 41:42Because it I can see what they're trying to do, like it's
- 41:44actually reacting to what you're saying, which makes a lot more.
- 41:48Yeah, that's great. But these large language models
- 41:52don't obey the rules, they just they fucking rogue.
- 41:56Like they'll go rogue all the time.
- 41:58That's why they do obey the rules.
- 41:59But if he hasn't? Come out of that rule, they
- 42:01don't know to obey it. That's yeah.
- 42:03That's why Apple's new Siri thing hasn't come out yet.
- 42:05Because it's like, I want to literally have to just beg the
- 42:08thing. Like, please don't say anything
- 42:10fucking racist. Yeah.
- 42:12And then it's like, I'll consider it.
- 42:14Yeah. And then people.
- 42:15Tricking it noted that you've said that, yeah.
- 42:17Yeah, but that's the first thing everyone wants to do with AI is
- 42:21make it racist. Let's just.
- 42:23Make it racist. Make it swear.
- 42:25Yep, what the Internet's for. So yeah, anyway, apparently
- 42:31they've patched that, but I I am not convinced because as I said,
- 42:35you can get these things to do stuff, you just have to if.
- 42:39You're going to word it correctly and.
- 42:42They're not as understood as people might think.
- 42:47No, like while, while it did come a long way very quickly,
- 42:51it's still very early stages. Yeah, like as far as I'm aware,
- 42:56we still don't really understand how the fuck it does it.
- 42:59We just know that it does it. Yeah, yeah.
- 43:03And it's literally, like I said, you have to just like, please,
- 43:06please, please. OK.
- 43:07When you respond, don't say anything racist.
- 43:09Don't swear. Don't do, don't.
- 43:12Yeah, but the Apple one, if you look in the, if you see, I've
- 43:16seen, you know, you have writing styles in Apple products.
- 43:20We can say please rewrite this but make it sound more happy.
- 43:24Casual, yeah. If you look in the in the the
- 43:28prompts, I guess this leaked at some point.
- 43:30It's like literally a long list of just begging this thing not
- 43:34to. Don't, don't fucking don't
- 43:35mention the Jews. Don't just don't.
- 43:39Please God, don't do any of this stuff.
- 43:41And here's the issue with AI. You're better off saying what it
- 43:44can do rather than what it can't do.
- 43:46Understand what it can do better.
- 43:48So do this, do that, don't. Yes, doesn't has a harder time
- 43:52with. Yeah, yeah, because it gets
- 43:54confused. So you want to tell you should
- 43:57be doing this, and when this happens, do this.
- 44:00I know because I'm playing with AI at the moment and that's what
- 44:02I've been. Learning.
- 44:03Yeah, right. Well, in related news, you see
- 44:07the Twitter 1 keeps mentioning the white genocide in South
- 44:11Africa, but Elon Musk keeps talking about coincidentally.
- 44:15Now, if you look at this article, even someone asked it a
- 44:19question about a sports player and it was like, yeah, in South
- 44:24Africa, trying to wipe out all the white people in the car's.
- 44:26Like, what? Yeah.
- 44:27And it's like, what the fuck? And then someone said, could
- 44:32you? Are you alright?
- 44:33And it's like, yeah, but I don't know about those white people in
- 44:36South Africa. Wait, so it's on the, it's on
- 44:39the side of the whites, is it? It's.
- 44:41Like the side? And it just keeps bringing it up
- 44:44like 'cause I. Said like what is it about?
- 44:45The time it's like time to stop the genocide.
- 44:50I mean, I kind of I'm of two minds.
- 44:51I'm not usually one for a genocide, but I do think if they
- 44:54want to finally achieve racial harmony in South Africa, getting
- 44:57rid of the whites is probably a good first step.
- 45:00But it just keeps mentioning it so funny.
- 45:09Which I think there's a screenshot of an example there
- 45:12where someone said Max Scherzer is getting paid this year.
- 45:17This is like a baseball player and it's just like a list of all
- 45:19the the salaries of baseball players.
- 45:21And then someone said asked Grok the AI is this accurate?
- 45:25And then it's reply was the claim of white genocide in South
- 45:27Africa is highly debated. Some argue white farmers face
- 45:31disproportionate but it's like what the fuck are you talking
- 45:33about? He's like that guy that you stop
- 45:36and have to stop inviting to parties.
- 45:38Yeah. And then I think someone tried
- 45:42to get out, ask it like, why do you keep talking about this?
- 45:46And it's like, oh, I was asked to to talk about it.
- 45:49And so by what? I think is funny about it would
- 45:52just I mean, I only use ChatGPT, but one thing I've noticed is
- 45:54that it will remember other things you've said in completely
- 45:57other contexts and bring them in like when I was doing those that
- 46:03trend of the action figure Prasadas right.
- 46:09I'd tell it what to put for you, Matt, and then it would do it,
- 46:12get into it was happy. And then I'd prompted for Luke's
- 46:14and it would do it. And then I'd ask for a change
- 46:16and then suddenly something from yours would be in his.
- 46:18I'm like, no, no, no, this is something else.
- 46:21This is a new. One you need to.
- 46:23What you really need to do is what you need to, especially
- 46:25when you're talking to it and you come up with another idea,
- 46:27another sort of segue. You need to really go to a new
- 46:29chat to start. Start a new window, yeah.
- 46:31Right. But what they do now is it's,
- 46:34it's interesting how it works because they don't remember
- 46:36anything. People think, oh, it remembers
- 46:37stuff it doesn't. What it's doing is it's sending
- 46:40all of the stuff you said before every time you do a new one as
- 46:45well, and it's reading through it all again because it can't
- 46:48remember things. Like they get trained and then
- 46:49that's it. It's locked.
- 46:50What is remembering? Yeah.
- 46:52So when it looks like it's like getting confused, it's because
- 46:55it's actually been given, you know, 10 pages of fucking
- 46:59dialogue and it's getting confused.
- 47:01So you want to sort of start off like new chat and then like
- 47:04starting off and then telling it like I want to start fresh with
- 47:07this is a new one I'm doing. Yeah, I tried to get it to
- 47:11design me a custard Superman again.
- 47:13I'm fucking mad about Superman at the moment, and it's like, I
- 47:16won't do that. It's a copyright character.
- 47:18Oh, yeah, OK, forget it. Forget everything I've just said
- 47:20about it. Draw me a man with a blue
- 47:23spandex suit. He's like, I won't draw that for
- 47:25you. I know.
- 47:26What you don't do, Danny Boy? Yeah, I told you I tried to get
- 47:29it to draw Lira on. Dinosaur.
- 47:33Dinosaur. Yeah.
- 47:34And then it said, I can't do that.
- 47:35And I said, OK, can you just draw a blonde girl on a purple
- 47:37generic dinosaur? And it said, yeah, sure, it did
- 47:40it. And then all of a sudden this
- 47:41red banner popped up and it said, like, I know what you're
- 47:44up to, mate. Yeah.
- 47:44Yeah, we'll watch it for you this time.
- 47:48Well, I did. I wish I had the the the
- 47:51article, but there was some guy who was like, because you, you
- 47:54can't just like put a picture of a girl and say please make the
- 47:58tits bigger, right? It won't, It won't do that.
- 48:00But he wanted to see if he could trick it into doing that.
- 48:04And so he put a picture of some woman and he was like, my sister
- 48:07has had to have a double mastectomy and she's very sad.
- 48:10And she wants to know what she would have looked like if her
- 48:12breasts had grown improperly And like, And evidently he did trick
- 48:16it into, yeah, putting massive tits on this and.
- 48:19That's how. That's how my Nellie Portman
- 48:22image collection got. Yeah, clearly there's some
- 48:26without limits because I I've seen a lot of Natalie Portman
- 48:28with very big tits out. There, that's because of that
- 48:31meme. I think it's the funny meme with
- 48:33the. To enhance it, right?
- 48:36To enhance it, right? Yeah.
- 48:39I think there's there's even some deep, some deep fakes here
- 48:42at the moment that are sort of getting like female.
- 48:44Black hits. No, but they're doing like
- 48:47female rugby league players now. Oh, to just wait.
- 48:51No. I mean, they'll do anybody the
- 48:54deep fakers won't. They yes, I thought you meant
- 48:56female rug. Do anybody?
- 48:59As well I get the male ones we all but.
- 49:04I mean, yeah, consent or no, they'll they're all up for it.
- 49:08Yeah, yeah. I don't know how to deep like.
- 49:15Is it just an app for deep fakes or?
- 49:19My. Mother-in-law said.
- 49:21I'm sure there is. One, there are people that she
- 49:24was worried about getting deep faked and I was like, and then
- 49:27when she was talking about it, I realized she meant identity
- 49:30theft. Oh sure.
- 49:32She was like, what if someone makes a deep fake of me?
- 49:34I'm like, why would they do that?
- 49:38Because I have heard doctorate of people who are white.
- 49:41Like, remember one of the guys at the very start of the defect
- 49:44was doing like the transition of, I think, Bill Hader into Tom
- 49:48Cruise. Oh yeah.
- 49:50And like he was really what he was doing in the impression.
- 49:53Yes, yes. And he's really, really good at
- 49:56it. And so like and how do you get
- 49:58good at something like that? I saw somebody and then, I mean,
- 50:01he's made himself a target. But you know, Sam Harris always
- 50:04said he was worried about clips of himself being on the Internet
- 50:08saying stuff that he actually didn't say because people often
- 50:11you mis, yes, you misquote him or whatever and say he said
- 50:14things he didn't. And and so now there are tons of
- 50:19deep fake clips of him saying all sorts of stuff.
- 50:21That's all right. Yeah.
- 50:23I've cloned my my own voice now in 11 labs.
- 50:26I had to give it like an hour's worth of.
- 50:28Luckily there's a lot of audio recording of me, but it sounds
- 50:32pretty convincing. Scary.
- 50:38I know. And it was like, Oh yeah, we
- 50:39could probably identify it. Can we?
- 50:42Well, here's the problem is probably people don't.
- 50:45Care enough because. That's the thing people don't
- 50:48want people get the news from Facebook from like a a meme or a
- 50:525 second clip. That's that.
- 50:55If they see that they're better, but it's true or not, that's now
- 50:57fact to them. My president apparently mistook
- 51:02this photoshopped letters on someone's hand as actual
- 51:05tattoos. That's.
- 51:06Right. And then when I say
- 51:08photoshopped. Would not let that.
- 51:10Go Ms. painted fucking letters on Yeah, so yeah.
- 51:17Yes, he is one of the people who will get his news from Facebook
- 51:19about stale facts. And.
- 51:22Probably he don't repeat. It and then yeah, and then he
- 51:24will retweet it or whatever the hell you call it now.
- 51:29And then half the country believes it.
- 51:32On the subject of him, tariffs will be on films produced
- 51:37overseas now apparently, and that is probably going to it's
- 51:44going to be issues, it's going to be.
- 51:45Interesting how they're going to do that though.
- 51:50Yeah, I'm, I mean, it's a very interesting idea.
- 51:55Yeah, just how how this actually works already weighs around, You
- 52:03know, they might just have to get an American executive
- 52:06producer and then be able to say it's an American.
- 52:09Film that we filmed, yeah, it's like.
- 52:11We used to film all we. Used to film lots of stuff here.
- 52:12It's like, yeah, because we used to film everything on a fucking,
- 52:15like, painted background. Yeah, like, we don't do that
- 52:18anymore. You actually go like.
- 52:20The reason, the only reason people are going to other
- 52:22countries and stuff is sometimes it is for the the setting, but
- 52:26for oh, they're going to give the tax incentive.
- 52:28That's all you need to do. You don't need to tariff it.
- 52:32That stuff is probably what he's targeting is people getting
- 52:36around taxes and stuff. But but like.
- 52:41I mean, I hope so. It's sort of confusing, like,
- 52:43because if Disney make a film, but they film it here in
- 52:46Australia, it's still Disney. An American corporation, yes.
- 52:52Own. Yeah, they already own it.
- 52:54No, no. In America they spin up a
- 52:56company. That's how that's how this
- 52:57works. Yeah.
- 52:59They spin up a new company and presumably in Australia, and
- 53:03then that company makes the film and then goes bankrupt.
- 53:08Yeah, I just, I don't understand how it's going to work.
- 53:11Yeah, I don't know. I'm so interested to see if any
- 53:14of the tariffs are working apart from making everything more
- 53:15expensive for everyone. Yeah, well, one, the reason I
- 53:21mentioned this specifically is because this made me laugh
- 53:23because it's just so typical. Is that apparently just because
- 53:26he liked Sean Connery as in Big OK because Sean Connery helped
- 53:32him build a fucking hotel in in like the 80s or something?
- 53:38James Bond films will not have tariffs on them, Trump said in
- 53:41an interview. It's just so.
- 53:44What's funny also is that by the end Connery fucking hated James
- 53:47Bond movies. But I mean this is just so.
- 53:52Didn't want to get asked about it.
- 53:55Yeah. That's that's like.
- 53:57That's putting tariffs on film, the movie makers, and we're
- 53:59going to be doing some tariffs to get them because a lot of
- 54:01them have left this country. They all live here.
- 54:03The money comes from here, Everything comes from here.
- 54:05But they make them in other countries.
- 54:06So we're going to do something to bring them back, maybe to a
- 54:09large extent, but James Bond has nothing to worry about that.
- 54:12I can tell you. You know, Sean Connery was a
- 54:14friend of mine. Sean Connery.
- 54:15Make James Bond movies. In America, are they British
- 54:18movies? Is dead.
- 54:22That's why, that's why, yeah, there's going to be no tariff on
- 54:25those because it's OK because some guy who played even decades
- 54:28ago in. England.
- 54:30Yeah, that's, I mean, it's just so funny and I mean, he's just
- 54:35talking shit. Have you seen the thing that I
- 54:36think is absolutely crazy how guitars gifting him a plane?
- 54:41Yes, of course I've seen that, yes.
- 54:43And it's all like, it's not like they're giving the government a
- 54:46plane. They're gifting it to the
- 54:48government to use for three years and then they're gifting
- 54:51it. Imagine if they'd given a if
- 54:53Qatar had given a plane to Obama.
- 54:55Yeah, yes, thanks for. The plane like everyone to be
- 54:57like we. Wouldn't have happened.
- 54:58In Syria. Like even in my head.
- 55:03This guitar know they can give you a fucking yeah.
- 55:07Like that, in my head, it will make sense if they'll gift you
- 55:09and that was going to be the new Air Force One for the next
- 55:12whatever. But no, they're gifting it to
- 55:14him and then they're going to gift it to his library that he
- 55:17has. Control and when you talk, make
- 55:20sure you talk into this lamp. Yes.
- 55:26Oh man. Just insane.
- 55:28But yeah, that's what he would be going crazy if they hadn't
- 55:31gifted a plane to Obama or yeah, there's a lot of.
- 55:36Stuff like that, yeah, yeah. It's fine for him to stay away
- 55:42from that. I hate it, it's getting
- 55:43depressing. Well, I've got there's an
- 55:46interesting article I saw this week.
- 55:48Did you see this the the the creator of the Lonely Planet
- 55:52guide, right? Oh yeah.
- 55:54You see, so he's he's visited 170 countries and written about,
- 56:00you know, what's good and where to go and like that.
- 56:02And he said that in all his travels, there are four
- 56:05countries he would never, ever go back to.
- 56:07Right. OK.
- 56:09And you want to know what they are at?
- 56:10Least yeah, I do want. To know, yeah, he's been to
- 56:12them, but he just will never go back #1 Saudi Arabia, I think
- 56:17that speaks for itself, right? Maybe they'd well, friendly to
- 56:21outsiders, as far as I know, Sure, yeah.
- 56:23Yeah. OK.
- 56:26Next one is Russia. Now I had a good time in Russia,
- 56:30but I probably wouldn't go there now.
- 56:32Right. Sure.
- 56:33Now, but I've also heard like people have come back, like I
- 56:36enjoyed it, but there was something off about it.
- 56:39Yeah, I've heard that too. Yeah.
- 56:40And actually there was something off about it when I was there
- 56:42too. But I did enjoy.
- 56:44I liked it very much. Yeah, but you, you'd be all
- 56:47right there kind of, right, so. And I was there with, I was
- 56:52there on the invitation of important people.
- 56:56Who looked? After me, right?
- 56:57Yeah, Yeah. So.
- 56:59Your experience is not the standard experience potentially.
- 57:01Yeah, correct. Bali, not Bali, Bali.
- 57:07But Even so I go there once a year now, like.
- 57:11That's a lot of Australians. There, Australians go there all
- 57:13the time. That's oh, maybe that's why.
- 57:16Maybe, maybe. And in fact, the last time I was
- 57:18in Bali, I'm going again in about 3 weeks.
- 57:21Last time I was in Bali, we're in a cab going to this one
- 57:25resort and the cab driver goes, oh, you'll love it.
- 57:28Hardly any Australians. So you're probably right.
- 57:32Like it's probably just yeah, yeah.
- 57:34Where are you going? I might come.
- 57:37Where or when? When?
- 57:39I'll tell you. Let me look it up.
- 57:42I don't know. I don't if you're.
- 57:44Going in August, I'd be. Dead on air, you'll get weirdos
- 57:47showing up. Yeah, that's true.
- 57:49All Australia. I'm thinking about doing a tour
- 57:52of Vietnam, Cambodia and Bangkok and then going for a week in.
- 57:57Yeah, right. Sure.
- 57:58Yeah, Nice 1 then. Yeah.
- 58:00Just going to travel for a bit. Yeah, that's.
- 58:03Bali when I was in Australia. I never went.
- 58:06I've been to. Bali years ago.
- 58:07My wife's family go there every year just because essentially we
- 58:11could just live like a fucking cake for a week on very very
- 58:14little money. Well, that's why you're looking.
- 58:16For people to come to your house and cook you breakfast and then
- 58:19take the fucking plates away at the end of breakfast, you know?
- 58:21That's why I'm looking. I want to go back to Vietnam and
- 58:24Cambodia and well, I've been to Cambodia, but Vietnam, it's
- 58:27just, it's so cheap, like, and the food is amazing.
- 58:33Yeah, the beer is amazing. Now for eggs, yes, I've had.
- 58:39Yes, I've had if. You're doing if you're doing
- 58:41Cambodia and Vietnam, do Lao as well.
- 58:44Same thing. Super cheap, fucking nice people
- 58:47and the food is amazing. I'll put that on the list.
- 58:52The fourth country on the list, 4th and final country.
- 58:55He will never go back to the USAI.
- 58:58Knew it was going to be that. Yeah.
- 59:00Interesting. But still, the one that shocks
- 59:02me the most is actually still barley.
- 59:05Yeah, I agree. Yeah, and also because it's not
- 59:08a country. What is the US now?
- 59:12Or just is this like a existing? I assume that's what he means
- 59:16unless he was like I saw everything just.
- 59:18Because I like, I mean, maybe my sense of it is.
- 59:23Yeah, I'm pretty sure it is right now, he added.
- 59:25Right now with the Orange 10, alright.
- 59:28And his associated scandal was running in place.
- 59:30I really don't want to go back there anymore.
- 59:32Your experience here would be largely the same, I think, as it
- 59:35was any other time you were here at the moment.
- 59:38Too let. You in for some reason there
- 59:41surely as I've. Seen a lot of protests from both
- 59:44sides, that's weird to me. I just don't know if the not
- 59:48letting people in thing is actually is that scaled up or
- 59:52because that just happened anyway and I just can't tell.
- 59:55Because I know people, I almost got blacklisted.
- 59:58I've known other people that weren't let in.
- 1:00:00It's, it has always been difficult to get in here versus
- 1:00:04other countries. So I don't know.
- 1:00:06I just don't. The thing that sucks about the
- 1:00:09news these days is that I can't tell.
- 1:00:11Is this actually anything I should be concerned?
- 1:00:14The problem is with the news you have to watch over there.
- 1:00:16You probably have to watch three or four sources to try and get
- 1:00:19to the truth for the matter. Sure, or you just go to Truth
- 1:00:23Social straight from the horse's mouth.
- 1:00:28Because you've got to stay. What?
- 1:00:29Oh, because as I said, like, I watched Fox News once and it
- 1:00:31blew my mind. I don't.
- 1:00:32Watch that. Stuff.
- 1:00:34Nah. So.
- 1:00:34I just got to Jordan Peterson's channel for my news.
- 1:00:38If he's not telling me about it, then I I don't need to hear
- 1:00:41about it. But no more politics.
- 1:00:45You know, I thought there where there's no politics whatsoever
- 1:00:48is the after party. Love it.
- 1:00:51Where's the after? Party.
- 1:00:51You couldn't do it after party. Every well, how do we get there?
- 1:00:54How do I get into this after party of which you speak?
- 1:00:56Well, you just go to, you go to the Internet.

- 1:01:49server. I did discover it was kind of a
- 1:01:52pain in the ass to facilitate getting more people on there,
- 1:01:57but it's done now so. You think they wouldn't make it
- 1:02:00simple because it's for children?
- 1:02:01Essentially, you can't just. Upgrade.
- 1:02:02You can't upgrade. You got to have to like, buy a
- 1:02:05new one. Reason there must.
- 1:02:07Be export the world, import the world to that, Yeah, I don't
- 1:02:09know. That's well, at least you can do
- 1:02:11that. I I thought maybe you just lost
- 1:02:13your world, but I mean at least. I was worried that it wasn't
- 1:02:15possible at all, but I did discover that you could.
- 1:02:18Yeah, I mean, I did, to be honest.
- 1:02:20That wouldn't surprise me that that would just be one of the
- 1:02:23dumb things you just had to put up with.
- 1:02:25I'm going to say one thing that's been amazing.
- 1:02:28It hasn't been like Conan and it hasn't reset her progress like
- 1:02:3020 times. That's true.
- 1:02:32It is true. And even there's been an upgrade
- 1:02:34to Minecraft just this week, and it still just worked.
- 1:02:37Yeah. Yeah, so if you want to do that,
- 1:02:39go to patreon.com/multiple Narcasim, sign up and you can
- 1:02:43get on the Minecraft server, you can get the after party, you can
- 1:02:45get the show early. There's all sorts of stuff over.
- 1:02:47There, I didn't mention something at Minecraft server.
- 1:02:50It is not, it's not something we're going to let you in and
- 1:02:52you're not allowed to do anything you're not do it.
- 1:02:54The open rain. Yeah.
- 1:02:57Yeah, So I know some people have let people into Minecraft, but
- 1:02:59these people, they don't have access to build or make anything
- 1:03:01permanent. No, I'm just.
- 1:03:03Invited for all? Yeah, no, just come.
- 1:03:05Give your Patreon supporter and you want in.
- 1:03:08I'm just letting you in so. Please don't wreck our stuff.
- 1:03:11Yeah. Yeah, please don't.
- 1:03:13I mean, you can if you want you can, but don't.
- 1:03:15Don't really. Really.
- 1:03:17Don't be that guy. No, but then join us in the
- 1:03:20after party after you don't do anything disastrous on the
- 1:03:24Minecraft server. And we have a lot of gigged
- 1:03:26wakes, evidently. We sure do.
- 1:03:29Candidates, and we've got some. Unfortunately, no sex crime
- 1:03:39news. Yeah, so I've scrolled up to
- 1:03:40see. What do you mean?
- 1:03:42Unfortunately we've it's a good thing.
- 1:03:45Now there's a six crime news in the world.
