- 0:00Let's talk for a minute. Let's talk about one of the
- 0:03greatest companies in the face of the Earth.
- 0:05And I mean, that I'll debate that with anyone.
- 0:09Let's talk about talking, floors Institute and let's talk about
- 0:13it from the lens of what I'm seeing in the world of work
- 0:17today and how 20:23 people strategy is significantly
- 0:21different than 2022. This is a drastic change right
- 0:26now because the world is changing number one.
- 0:29Like that's just objectively true, right?
- 0:32The world is changing. The world's maneuvering.
- 0:33The world is shifting from a economic perspective.
- 0:37Economic perspective is changing from like the core behaviors
- 0:42that are driving in the core ideals and the core perspectives
- 0:45that are driving America's youth.
- 0:47Today, professionals today world of work today, it's changing the
- 0:51priorities of individuals are different today.
- 0:55When the backs of on the back of covid-19, and from that moment
- 0:58that mean those are there are many that are that are, that are
- 1:01really hyper focus on their health because they maybe have
- 1:04been significantly impaired and affected.
- 1:07I know my wife and I have been this entire time, you know, I
- 1:11have a significant call from the significant and I want to be
- 1:14disgusting on this podcast, but I'll do it anyway.
- 1:17A bit of phlegm that just consistently builds up in my
- 1:20chest and I'm never had that in my career, or my life period as
- 1:24an adult. A child.
- 1:25And at no point my wife, unfortunately he spent multiple
- 1:30weeks in the hospital, you know? And we've talked about this
- 1:34publicly as had prior, you know, I have problems with with hair
- 1:37and things of that nature, you know, and losing it and being
- 1:39able to keep it the way she wants and being comfortable in
- 1:42our own skin. And so there's been real side
- 1:45effects and we have other people that we've heard that I've had
- 1:47long covid and so many other factors and so I think coming
- 1:50out of that People are worried about their health as well, in a
- 1:55different way and organizations are having to react to that.
- 1:57So, and then obviously, with the biggest elephant in the room,
- 2:01which is, are we in a recession? Are we not in a recession?
- 2:05Are we having financial problems or companies just using this as
- 2:09an excuse to offload, whatever the reason is we're in a very
- 2:13weird time financially as well. So having said all that, here's
- 2:20a few thoughts. That that I think that I know
- 2:22not, I think relate to talking floors Institute, how to call it
- 2:26a damn with a potential partner. We were on the phone and we were
- 2:31breaking down. Why we believe top employers
- 2:34could be a great fit for for their company today and
- 2:38throughout the call. You know, for me, anytime deals
- 2:42are conducted any time any time I'm talking about the word of
- 2:45work, I'm not going to position. Mission, my solution, my
- 2:49product, my idea, my advice. I'm not going to do anything for
- 2:53you. If I genuinely.
- 2:54Don't number one, understand the full context of the situation
- 2:57and the number two, if I genuinely, genuinely believe
- 3:00what I have can solve your problem.
- 3:02If I don't think I can solve your problem, I'll do two
- 3:04things, I'll research how to solve your problem and give you
- 3:07some introductions, if I and then like, create those
- 3:10introductions out of thin air or I'll, I'll have those
- 3:14introductions and or relationships already.
- 3:16Am I Personal, you know, Rolodex if you will and Pipeline and
- 3:20I'll offer them to you, just to help because I care so much
- 3:24about this HR and people operations, and world of work
- 3:27employee experience, d&i all the things you love.
- 3:30I care about this space. So much this space is given to
- 3:34me and my family professionally. This place more, most
- 3:36importantly saved my career. I think, I think if I didn't
- 3:39make the mistake I made early on, I wouldn't have this career.
- 3:41So I want attention. Here's the punch line, here's
- 3:45the punch line. I believe that companies today
- 3:51should go through significant cleaning of the house if you
- 3:57will the call had the call that I had today.
- 4:01It was a 50-50 called meaning 50% of the individual near the
- 4:04line and I did as well. Could see how this could
- 4:07actually help. They have a large initiative in
- 4:11a row map where they're literally over the next three
- 4:14years. Are unpacking the entire
- 4:17business end to end from the moment.
- 4:20Someone even thinks or hears or sees about the company all the
- 4:24way to the very end when the person is exiting it is because
- 4:28whether they want to or the being terminated, whatever the
- 4:30case is going to be that whole experience of working in the
- 4:34side of the company, they're recruiting element of the
- 4:36internal comms element of it. The the Tuna tees and the
- 4:40promotion elements of it, the experience, the D, and
- 4:42everything. You can think of everything,
- 4:45everything you can think of All of the core six, pillars of type
- 4:51of everything you can think of. And so we could see how going
- 4:55inside of a company utilizing top employers framework and
- 4:59principles that have been researched and tested and
- 5:01proven. An unpacking, the HR, the HR
- 5:07Group inside of your company piece by piece, unpacking it
- 5:10fully and generally understanding.
- 5:13Which areas are we doing? Well, I'm a big fan of not
- 5:16breaking, not not fixing something, if it's not broken.
- 5:20I'm a big fan of that. I'm the guy I'm the professional
- 5:25is going to hyper focus on positive but I'm also the guy
- 5:29that's also going to her neck. I'll recognize weaknesses you
- 5:33can do it, you can do it in two ways.
- 5:34In my opinion, my opinion, as a human being, and as a
- 5:37professional in the workplace. Let's go with the let's go with
- 5:42the good. You can, you can lean into it.
- 5:46You can lean into your strengths and literally just design your
- 5:49life, your business. Your priorities as a company
- 5:52around your strengths or you can try to fix some of the
- 5:54weaknesses and strengths in them or give them to at least a solid
- 5:56level. But at least, you know, the
- 5:58data. And so this company is going
- 6:00through a full Rebrand from an HR perspective.
- 6:04Externally and internally. And what they're doing is I said
- 6:08look, you could go through top employers and guess what's going
- 6:11to happen? Now, you're going to generally
- 6:12know and understand about every single piece and use that core
- 6:15data, and that raw data first to launch you That's an amazing
- 6:21moment. You can use that data first to
- 6:24launch you to give you the, give you the feedback that you need.
- 6:29That you desire. That's incredible.
- 6:34Now, I'm not saying they're not being honest with themselves and
- 6:38auditing themselves and understanding themselves, and
- 6:40starting this off on a nice wave.
- 6:42But I believe if you can, you can sit down and generally
- 6:46understand by just unpacking a lot of core principles and
- 6:49having a third party, I'm big on third Parties By the way, as
- 6:53well. I think, I think that's just
- 6:54simple. Science of the human mind.
- 6:56Third parties always attract more my wife and I we talked
- 6:59about therapy actively proactively all the time.
- 7:03Third parties are helpful. So using a third-party to unpack
- 7:07what you're doing from an HR perspective to get you ready for
- 7:09this 2 to 3-year opportunity is going to be massive, I genuinely
- 7:14Believe it or on the flip side, which you generally, okay.
- 7:19You coming you use top Employers in the backend.
- 7:22You've done the hard work independently, you come to you.
- 7:25Stop employees to really give it a nice scrub and then give you a
- 7:29nice big certification award or recognition, for actually being
- 7:33going through the hard work of being a top employer because
- 7:36it's not easy. It's not easy to actually have a
- 7:39great employee experience. It's not easy, having a
- 7:43meaningful and amazing dni strategy and implementation.
- 7:46It's not easy to have seamless fluid, you know, smart.
- 7:53HR technology that's that's that's easy to use as well.
- 7:56It's not easy, it's not easy to have an inclusive culture and to
- 8:00create that, it's not easy. It's not easy, it's not easy to
- 8:05pay people. Well you have to make a lot of
- 8:07money, you have to have a successful financial piece of
- 8:10your business. So the punchline I'm making is I
- 8:14believe companies need to start thinking about frankly, I'll
- 8:17just objectively say it top Employers in a way that it's not
- 8:21just an award, it's not just a seal, it's a real experience.
- 8:26It's a real learning moment and you can put this data to work in
- 8:30ways that will that will provide you dividends 3 to 6 years out.
- 8:34I genuinely believe it, it'll definitely hit your bottom line,
- 8:38it'll definitely hit your Innovation numbers.
- 8:41It'll definitely hit your employees in the satisfaction
- 8:44and I love that they have. It'll definitely hit your
- 8:46productivity numbers. I I can keep going it's a great
- 8:50idea. So this was just my honest
- 8:55thoughts about 20 22 2023, the strategy in which I think is
- 8:59different and what company do companies need to do having to
- 9:03hit the reset button to use top employers to do that and yeah
- 9:09that's always just a few thoughts, just a few
- 9:12perspectives. We will most definitely talk
- 9:15soon. We will most definitely talk
- 9:15soon.
