- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the almost famous podcast with iHeart Radio. Hi Bob,
- 0:05Speaker 1: how are you? Hi, Trista, I'm fantastic. How are you today?
- 0:09Speaker 1: I'm doing okay even though it's a blizzard outside, but
- 0:13Speaker 1: you know, yeah, that's Colorado for you, at least in
- 0:16Speaker 1: slight and fluffy snow like I think powder when I
- 0:19Speaker 1: think of Colorado. When I think of Michigan stell lately,
- 0:21Speaker 1: I think of like an ice, like black ice. Yeah. Well,
- 0:28Speaker 1: one thing to brighten our day is the fact that
- 0:30Speaker 1: we both get to talk to Ashley today. I'm so excited.
- 0:34Speaker 1: I'm excited too. I can't wait to have her on
- 0:36Speaker 1: talk about an og, talk about Yeah, I'm excited. Hi
- 0:46Speaker 1: are hi? Beautiful Trista, I kind of feel like you
- 0:50Speaker 1: and I look at like a little bit like maybe. Yeah,
- 0:53Speaker 1: so seriously, I feel like when You're a Bachelor and
- 0:57Speaker 1: Bachelorette came out, so many people wrote me saying that
- 1:00Speaker 1: we were twins. Oh yeah, so many people. And I
- 1:04Speaker 1: take it as a huge compliment obviously, but yes, I've
- 1:07Speaker 1: always thought we look alike. I feel yes, it's like
- 1:09Speaker 1: maybe the shape of horse name, I don't know, and
- 1:14Speaker 1: we're just teeny, just teeny little pocket size mind size people.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I love it. How are you? Ye? Work great? How
- 1:28Speaker 1: are you? I'm so excited. So Bob doesn't know this,
- 1:30Speaker 1: but I am going to Miami tomorrow, Bob with Blakeslee
- 1:34Speaker 1: because we're having a Miami Dancer alumni reunion. Oh my gosh,
- 1:41Speaker 1: how I mean, I'm so freaking nervous because I'm going
- 1:44Speaker 1: to be dancing on the court at halftime at the
- 1:46Speaker 1: next game. But yes, I know. Actually I'm done. I'm done.
- 1:52Speaker 1: But I'm beautiful too. It's like summer's coming. You can
- 1:56Speaker 1: feel it. The sun's just PERI actually so excited to
- 2:01Speaker 1: not be in New York right now, given the way
- 2:03Speaker 1: the weather's hit in New York for so many years.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Like I feel like my childhood and my previous life
- 2:12Speaker 1: is like a lifetime ago. Yeah, I mean so, it's like, God,
- 2:18Speaker 1: I would never go back there. I mean, yeah, I
- 2:21Speaker 1: never You know something about Florida that's just so beautiful,
- 2:24Speaker 1: And I think it's important for people to just find
- 2:26Speaker 1: a place that makes them feel happy every day. Like
- 2:28Speaker 1: I walk up, I wake up in the morning, I
- 2:30Speaker 1: look outside. There's so much beauty, There's so much just
- 2:34Speaker 1: there's so much to be grateful for. And I feel
- 2:36Speaker 1: like once you find a place where, no matter what's
- 2:38Speaker 1: going on in your life, you can feel that way about.
- 2:42Speaker 1: It just brings me so much happiness. I know, it's
- 2:44Speaker 1: really important to me. So I love that. I like
- 2:47Speaker 1: hearing that too. That's very lovely. Well, the reason I
- 2:50Speaker 1: brought up the heat thing is because I might get
- 2:52Speaker 1: to see Ashley in person. I know, um, so hopefully
- 2:58Speaker 1: it works out, but if not, it's business schedule yours too.
- 3:04Speaker 1: You know, we're just busy, like non stop. Soccer and
- 3:10Speaker 1: dance and basketball. Are those the things? Soccer in basketball
- 3:16Speaker 1: for forty and he's a dancer, acro yes, tell us,
- 3:23Speaker 1: tell us all the things about the kiddos. Okay, so well,
- 3:27Speaker 1: you know Ford is very athletic. So Ford is a
- 3:29Speaker 1: lot of things. He's very athletic. He likes to move around,
- 3:32Speaker 1: he's very physical. He's tried every sport so and he's
- 3:36Speaker 1: really great at every sport. I have to say, amazing.
- 3:40Speaker 1: But and this is probably personality. When it gets a
- 3:45Speaker 1: little too intense for him, like too demanding, that's when
- 3:50Speaker 1: he pulls back and he wants to try something else.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Very interesting. It's very interesting. So he has an intense
- 3:57Speaker 1: like competitive or intense, like yeah, okay, got it. Time commitment, right,
- 4:02Speaker 1: So he made um like a competitive soccer league, Like
- 4:06Speaker 1: he tried out and he made it. But the practices
- 4:08Speaker 1: were like three times a week, and then there were
- 4:10Speaker 1: games every weekend sometimes both days. It was too much.
- 4:14Speaker 1: The kid just wanted to break because I just want
- 4:15Speaker 1: to go home. I don't want So that's a lot
- 4:20Speaker 1: for a young kid, you know, it really is. Oh yeah, absolutely,
- 4:24Speaker 1: And I feel like we run sometimes we won't maybe maybe,
- 4:27Speaker 1: And that's I'll speak for myself. Sometimes I feel like
- 4:29Speaker 1: we have to fill our kids' schedules with saving things.
- 4:34Speaker 1: To me, feel like we're amazing parents for doing all
- 4:38Speaker 1: these things for them and doing our rest with Bosom.
- 4:41Speaker 1: But also I think the kids need a freaking break. Yeah,
- 4:45Speaker 1: we're going through that right now. We have a four
- 4:47Speaker 1: year old and one and a half year old, and
- 4:49Speaker 1: our four year old like every day, my wife like
- 4:52Speaker 1: loves to have like activities every day, and you know,
- 4:55Speaker 1: the day I was like, I think he just wants
- 4:57Speaker 1: to like sit down and watch Bluey for like an hour,
- 5:01Speaker 1: you know, and we never let them watch I'm like,
- 5:04Speaker 1: let's just chill today, Like let's do not because I
- 5:07Speaker 1: think you're right. I think sometimes it's just like, I mean,
- 5:09Speaker 1: I know for a fact, growing up, I was bored
- 5:11Speaker 1: a lot, and there was nothing wrong with that, you know,
- 5:14Speaker 1: I was okay to not have anything to do. Basically, Yes, yeah, well,
- 5:18Speaker 1: I feel like as they get older, too, like their
- 5:21Speaker 1: schedules will just get worse and worse and more busy
- 5:24Speaker 1: and more busy. I mean, I've said this multiple times.
- 5:27Speaker 1: I feel like, even on the podcast, when my kids
- 5:29Speaker 1: were newborns, I felt like I couldn't be any more
- 5:31Speaker 1: busy because I was feeding them two hours and la la,
- 5:35Speaker 1: and now, oh it beats newborn stage, it beats all
- 5:41Speaker 1: the stages. It's just once they find what they love,
- 5:44Speaker 1: which is a fun process of figuring out what they love,
- 5:47Speaker 1: but finding out what they love and what they're okay
- 5:50Speaker 1: being committed to and then committing to that like, oh gosh,
- 5:55Speaker 1: it is it is crazy town. It is really. Yeah,
- 5:59Speaker 1: it's intense. So those moments of relaxation and just chilling out,
- 6:03Speaker 1: zoning out. Give the phone to them, give the iPad,
- 6:06Speaker 1: give the TV. I'm all for that. Yeah. The end
- 6:10Speaker 1: of the day, like when we're finished at work, when
- 6:12Speaker 1: I go home, I want to be brainless for a
- 6:14Speaker 1: little while, totally. Like once they get home from school
- 6:19Speaker 1: and they always do an activity every school at at
- 6:22Speaker 1: their school. When they get home, I don't demand that
- 6:25Speaker 1: they do their homework right away and get all their
- 6:27Speaker 1: reading done, get all that done. Yeah, allow them at
- 6:30Speaker 1: least an hour and a half sometimes two hours to
- 6:35Speaker 1: yea and their brain to make decisions about what they
- 6:40Speaker 1: want to do in these moments, Like these kids are
- 6:42Speaker 1: so regimented, and like they tell me you have to
- 6:46Speaker 1: go here, and then you gotta move here, and you're
- 6:47Speaker 1: gonna move there. Like I think it's so beautiful for
- 6:50Speaker 1: kids to just have freedom and to explore their own
- 6:54Speaker 1: decisions and make their mistakes and all, like anyway, whatever
- 6:56Speaker 1: I could, Yeah, agreed. Tell us about Essie. What's she
- 7:02Speaker 1: into these days? I know she's your little mini me.
- 7:06Speaker 1: I love my son, He's I know you do. I
- 7:09Speaker 1: know I love him. He's also a little pain in
- 7:12Speaker 1: the butt sometimes, But I love aren't they all? Aren't
- 7:15Speaker 1: they all my daughter I want? But I love her more.
- 7:19Speaker 1: I'm not saying that. I'm saying there's something so unique
- 7:22Speaker 1: about that for me that, like mother Bond, I see
- 7:26Speaker 1: so much of myself and her when she either responds
- 7:30Speaker 1: a specific way or she has a certain emotion, I
- 7:33Speaker 1: can feel like because I'm like, that's how I would feel. Yeah, yeah,
- 7:38Speaker 1: I feel like I understand her and can connect to her,
- 7:41Speaker 1: and I feel like she's just kind of a minime,
- 7:45Speaker 1: and she is a minime, she is, for sure. I
- 7:49Speaker 1: loved the little dancing video that you guys did side
- 7:51Speaker 1: by side. I think I was watching it with someone,
- 7:54Speaker 1: and whoever was watching it with me was like, you
- 7:57Speaker 1: should have done that with Blakesley, like growing up. I
- 8:00Speaker 1: just I don't know, I just don't have time. And
- 8:03Speaker 1: it's fun, but um but I just never did it.
- 8:06Speaker 1: You need to continue to do that because it's really
- 8:08Speaker 1: cute to see, you know, and because you dance like
- 8:12Speaker 1: I just find that she's starting to show injury. I
- 8:15Speaker 1: never wanted to push it on her because but I
- 8:18Speaker 1: wanted her to kind of like come into her own
- 8:19Speaker 1: and she explored soccer and you know, yeah, but she's
- 8:25Speaker 1: she likes something very exciting. I mean, Miami is such
- 8:30Speaker 1: a great place for her because, oh my god, there
- 8:34Speaker 1: are so many studios, so many studios. You are dialed
- 8:38Speaker 1: in in Miami. If she wants to dance that's so
- 8:41Speaker 1: exciting as a dance mom myself. Yes, I know yours.
- 8:48Speaker 1: We are I I love it. I just and we're
- 8:52Speaker 1: boy first girl second. You know so many you know
- 8:56Speaker 1: so many things. We look alike. We love our daughters. No, actually,
- 9:03Speaker 1: I actually, you know. It's really funny. I remember this
- 9:06Speaker 1: is several years ago because one of the kids, I'm
- 9:09Speaker 1: assuming it was Assy, was still I think it was
- 9:10Speaker 1: still in diapers, and there was this video that you
- 9:14Speaker 1: put on, like a video that you put on Instagram.
- 9:16Speaker 1: I sound like I'm even older than I really am.
- 9:19Speaker 1: It was like a real that you made and I'll
- 9:23Speaker 1: never forget it. But you like you made up some
- 9:25Speaker 1: song and I think it might have been JP At
- 9:27Speaker 1: the time, I caught you singing this song. Oh my god,
- 9:30Speaker 1: was so adorable, and it's just just flashed in my
- 9:33Speaker 1: head and I remember like catching myself singing that song
- 9:37Speaker 1: that you basically wrote that day on your Instagram. Like
- 9:40Speaker 1: I'm like you, I can't remember what it is. I'm
- 9:41Speaker 1: gonna look it up later and I'm gonna find it.
- 9:43Speaker 1: I want to text it too, because I remember thinking
- 9:45Speaker 1: how cute it was and I was like, oh my god,
- 9:47Speaker 1: I do that all the time. I'm always like making
- 9:49Speaker 1: up songs to you know, keep my kids kind of
- 9:51Speaker 1: engaged and all right. And I remember seeing that and
- 9:53Speaker 1: I was like, and it was at the time, and
- 9:56Speaker 1: I thought of this. The second I found out we're
- 9:57Speaker 1: gonna get to interview you, I remember thinking, I'm like,
- 9:59Speaker 1: that's it makes it actually so relatable. And white people
- 10:01Speaker 1: love you so much is because you would post these
- 10:04Speaker 1: things of you just being yourself, and you know, you
- 10:06Speaker 1: didn't care if you I mean, he looked obviously you
- 10:08Speaker 1: looked gorgeous at the time, but you didn't care if
- 10:10Speaker 1: you had makeup on or whatever. It's like, you know
- 10:12Speaker 1: a lot of people don't do that, right, A lot
- 10:14Speaker 1: of people, I think, are you know, basically have a
- 10:17Speaker 1: professional film crew following around twenty four seven and I
- 10:20Speaker 1: just love it. Remember my wife, I'm talking about it,
- 10:24Speaker 1: That's true. I remember my wife and I talked about it.
- 10:25Speaker 1: I was like, that is awesome. We would be such
- 10:28Speaker 1: great friends with Ashley if we live near her. Well,
- 10:32Speaker 1: you know, I try to be cool and normal. They
- 10:35Speaker 1: can do they do? They know about the show? The kids? Yeah, yeah,
- 10:41Speaker 1: they do, they do. Actually, there's a really funny video
- 10:45Speaker 1: of my daughter because about a year ago. I think
- 10:48Speaker 1: they've tried. They figured it out a year ago, I
- 10:50Speaker 1: would say. And they're how old right now? So he
- 10:54Speaker 1: four it is eight and say six, So they've always known.
- 10:57Speaker 1: But I just don't think they've never watched this show.
- 11:00Speaker 1: So they don't understand the complexity. They don't understand that
- 11:03Speaker 1: maybe people recognize them, you know, at school or some
- 11:07Speaker 1: of the teachers might like, you know, be you know,
- 11:10Speaker 1: like the girl Yeah, see, like filmed herself on my
- 11:16Speaker 1: phone one day. She's like, she's sitting there and she
- 11:19Speaker 1: goes on, I'm going to re enact because it was
- 11:21Speaker 1: just she's like, you know, she was recording herself, like
- 11:25Speaker 1: as if she was a YouTuber. Okay, everybody knows us,
- 11:31Speaker 1: and I don't know if we're famous or rich. I
- 11:33Speaker 1: don't know which, either of those. But you know, so
- 11:49Speaker 1: they don't will they don't care. They don't know. If
- 11:51Speaker 1: they don't care, they're too young, you know, like maybe
- 11:54Speaker 1: they're teenagers, they'll think it's cool, but no, like too young. Yeah,
- 12:00Speaker 1: if it's on the air and it's I got you know,
- 12:02Speaker 1: a resurgence of ratings, they well, but right now yeah, yeah,
- 12:06Speaker 1: you don't actually and you trist I's hear me say
- 12:08Speaker 1: this story times, but I love it. So we're doing
- 12:10Speaker 1: something together, and um, here's why we know that they
- 12:13Speaker 1: won't think it's cool when they're teenagers. Trists like Max, oh,
- 12:16Speaker 1: I want you to meet my ex boyfriend Bob, and
- 12:18Speaker 1: he goes it's uh yeah, he's just like okay, whatever.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Its just and I'm like, ain't good to see a
- 12:29Speaker 1: man that phase of like they're too cool. So maybe
- 12:34Speaker 1: they won't care for sure. I mean, you never know.
- 12:37Speaker 1: I can't say, of course you know they won't care.
- 12:39Speaker 1: But I just feel like it is exciting for you know,
- 12:44Speaker 1: every so often if one of their friends recognizes or
- 12:47Speaker 1: one of their friends parents recognizes, then they're you know,
- 12:50Speaker 1: kind of get a little ego boost and they're like, oh,
- 12:53Speaker 1: I'm cool, my parents are cool. And then it just
- 12:56Speaker 1: goes away and it becomes like cringey, you know, exactly.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Just always. I just feel living in Miami the Bachelor
- 13:09Speaker 1: Bachelotte world, it's so not in my life, like right,
- 13:13Speaker 1: living in la or living in New York where people
- 13:16Speaker 1: watch it. In Miami, I don't know if I'm just
- 13:18Speaker 1: making a generalization, like nobody knows me here. I walk around,
- 13:21Speaker 1: I mean, I look a little different, but I walk
- 13:23Speaker 1: around like I never get recognized. Really, really do you
- 13:29Speaker 1: get recognized when you travel? Yeah? More, Yeah, if I'm
- 13:33Speaker 1: at an airport or am I saying in a different
- 13:35Speaker 1: city on vacation, like people were recognizing but Miami, I
- 13:39Speaker 1: think it's maybe it's just a different culture. They're not
- 13:40Speaker 1: they don't really, Yeah, that's true. It's a theory I have.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I feel like the Midwest is a big hub like Texas.
- 13:49Speaker 1: I don't know about Michigan, Bob, you can speak to that,
- 13:52Speaker 1: but I feel like and I went back to Saint
- 13:54Speaker 1: Louis got recognized a couple of times, Like I feel
- 13:57Speaker 1: like Texas is a big hub misable right the first
- 14:02Speaker 1: body watching, everybody knew you like everyone was. I don't know.
- 14:06Speaker 1: I just feel like you're way more recognizable the godmother
- 14:09Speaker 1: of the godmother and saying grand I say, you're the
- 14:15Speaker 1: godmother of the grandfather of the franchise. I think as
- 14:22Speaker 1: Michigan's my you know, my home state, and I filmed
- 14:25Speaker 1: all the stuff here and all that kind of stuff.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I think that's why probably Michigan for me is a lot,
- 14:29Speaker 1: But I got a lot in Seattle too. But you
- 14:31Speaker 1: know it's really weird as you're right in Florida unless
- 14:34Speaker 1: I'm at the airport, I can say honestly, and I
- 14:36Speaker 1: was just in Orlando for the better part of a week.
- 14:39Speaker 1: I pretty much moved through that place, you know, with
- 14:42Speaker 1: great anonymity. It was nice. Yeah, yeah, totally. Do you
- 14:57Speaker 1: still watch the show, Ashley, Bachelor, Bachelort in Paradise, any
- 15:00Speaker 1: of it? So? First off, Bachelor in Paradise this last
- 15:03Speaker 1: season was so good. I love you no, right, I
- 15:06Speaker 1: know same? Um, I watch it, okay, so I have
- 15:10Speaker 1: you know, obviously JP and I are divorced, so we
- 15:13Speaker 1: share custody. So every other Monday, when I don't have
- 15:18Speaker 1: the kids, I watch it, But if I have them,
- 15:21Speaker 1: I'm usually like packing, like, yeah, I'm tiring. You don't
- 15:24Speaker 1: have the Bachelor in Paradise in the background. Paradise, excuse
- 15:30Speaker 1: me to excuse me, kids, I need to listen to
- 15:32Speaker 1: this lokated to Bachelor in Paradise. I wouldn't report it.
- 15:36Speaker 1: With Bachelor, I'm kind of like every other week I'll
- 15:39Speaker 1: up don't because I know nobody used me same same. No,
- 15:44Speaker 1: you know you guys are both I'm sure way better
- 15:45Speaker 1: watchers than I am. Because I literally go on these
- 15:48Speaker 1: little things where we do the iHeart stuff and I'm like, Hi,
- 15:51Speaker 1: what's your name? Oh on Clayton, I was just a
- 15:53Speaker 1: bachel me like, but yeah, we're curious about that because
- 16:05Speaker 1: I mean, so you mentioned about you and JP, so
- 16:07Speaker 1: you know, it's kind of interesting because I was curious,
- 16:10Speaker 1: Like I had a question. I was wondering, do you
- 16:12Speaker 1: guys both live in Miami area then? Or did he?
- 16:16Speaker 1: Because I remember I wasn't sure what the timing of things,
- 16:19Speaker 1: you know, kind of was on that. So we moved
- 16:21Speaker 1: to Miami from New York together right when I was
- 16:24Speaker 1: in my son or our son, and we lived here
- 16:28Speaker 1: for what six years, and then we lived together obviously,
- 16:31Speaker 1: and then we divorced, but we both stayed in Miami.
- 16:35Speaker 1: We just live in different parts of Miami, but we're
- 16:39Speaker 1: always ten away. So it's very easy, and you know,
- 16:44Speaker 1: it's been actually pretty seamless in terms of like logistics,
- 16:47Speaker 1: like we're both very dedicated to them and bringing them
- 16:51Speaker 1: to all their dreams and practices. Yeah, you know, I
- 16:55Speaker 1: better have a good relationship if you're going to do
- 16:57Speaker 1: all that together. So it's hard, it's hard. I have
- 17:00Speaker 1: a friend going through right now and if you don't
- 17:03Speaker 1: have a co parent who's as dedicated as you are, yeah, oh,
- 17:08Speaker 1: all that responsibility on you or yell. So, you know,
- 17:11Speaker 1: it was kind of interesting because when I got married
- 17:14Speaker 1: after the Bachelor, of course, but not to anyone from
- 17:17Speaker 1: the show, and we were both in the public eye,
- 17:19Speaker 1: and when we split up, it was so hard, and
- 17:22Speaker 1: I remember thinking, you know, if I wasn't the Bachelor guy,
- 17:25Speaker 1: they wouldn't care, right, And then to be in the
- 17:27Speaker 1: situation that you guys were in, which was the couple
- 17:30Speaker 1: that was formed on the show, to go through that divorce,
- 17:32Speaker 1: that had to be so much pressure, I would imagine
- 17:35Speaker 1: from you know, the outside looking in, was it was.
- 17:37Speaker 1: It had to be other than I know it was
- 17:40Speaker 1: difficult just in and of itself. I know, you guys
- 17:42Speaker 1: actually loved and cared about each other so much, and
- 17:44Speaker 1: I know how hard that can be. But that had
- 17:45Speaker 1: to be a lot to navigate. Yeah, I think there
- 17:48Speaker 1: were a lot of different layers to it, right, So
- 17:50Speaker 1: being in the public eye, certainly it didn't keep us
- 17:54Speaker 1: together and didn't tear us apart. I think that it
- 17:57Speaker 1: put pressure on us to really, like first off, stay
- 18:03Speaker 1: private about everything like we were ever about anything until
- 18:06Speaker 1: we were certain, um, And then I think it does
- 18:10Speaker 1: in a way put a little more pressure on you
- 18:12Speaker 1: to like try, try, try as much as you can, right,
- 18:15Speaker 1: I don't I mean, I don't know if that's the
- 18:17Speaker 1: right answer, but that's and I don't know if JP
- 18:19Speaker 1: feels that way, but I certainly felt like, man, I
- 18:22Speaker 1: want to make sure that we're making the right decision
- 18:24Speaker 1: for my kids. And then also I do subconsciously there's
- 18:28Speaker 1: a party, it's like I'm gonna let down, and I'm
- 18:30Speaker 1: kind of like a people pleaser, like I look to
- 18:33Speaker 1: people right that That's that I could talk a whole
- 18:37Speaker 1: hour about um. But when you're a people pleaser, you
- 18:41Speaker 1: you think more about how it'll affect other people versus yourself. Right,
- 18:46Speaker 1: So I in many years thinking that, you know, like
- 18:51Speaker 1: into the decision when really it shouldn't, like the only
- 18:54Speaker 1: people that should matter are your family or your kids
- 18:56Speaker 1: and yourself. So yeah, that was challenging. But I have
- 19:02Speaker 1: to say the most surprising thing I could talk about
- 19:05Speaker 1: divorce so much because I have to tell you, guys,
- 19:07Speaker 1: when when we separate and we went public, the amount
- 19:12Speaker 1: of hate I WoT on my social media, sure men,
- 19:19Speaker 1: was mind blowing, like the messages. I mean I could
- 19:24Speaker 1: go back and probably look, yeah, that's something that really
- 19:28Speaker 1: was like, Wow, nothing happened. We didn't teat there was
- 19:31Speaker 1: no one fidelity we we I truly feel like we
- 19:35Speaker 1: handled our divorce the best that we could and probably
- 19:40Speaker 1: that anyone could. Like we really put the kids first.
- 19:43Speaker 1: We made decisions based on the kids what we felt
- 19:45Speaker 1: was their well being. We treat each treat each other fairly,
- 19:48Speaker 1: I felt. So it was really hard to read all
- 19:52Speaker 1: those messages. I remember asking JP like, hey, do you
- 19:55Speaker 1: get I remember texting, hey, I'm getting like messages from people.
- 19:58Speaker 1: Do you get anything? He's like nope, really interesting, real
- 20:04Speaker 1: wait a second, So all the hate was going to you,
- 20:07Speaker 1: like everyone thought separated your family, like it was like
- 20:11Speaker 1: I I was the one that did you know nobody?
- 20:14Speaker 1: Do you think it's because you're a mom and that's why,
- 20:17Speaker 1: like people put this onus on the mom to like
- 20:20Speaker 1: make sure your kids are first. Do you think that's why? Like,
- 20:24Speaker 1: looking back, I'm really not sure if I have a theory.
- 20:29Speaker 1: I actually do because I went through it too, And
- 20:31Speaker 1: I think you go through it because you know you're
- 20:34Speaker 1: on this show that basically you had, and I mean
- 20:38Speaker 1: people would say this to me, and I remember thinking
- 20:40Speaker 1: to myself, Oh my god, if they only knew how
- 20:42Speaker 1: the stuff works. But they like, you had thirty guys
- 20:45Speaker 1: that she was from and you still couldn't make it work.
- 20:47Speaker 1: And I when I when Estella and I didn't work out,
- 20:50Speaker 1: so I can only imagine for you actually, But then
- 20:52Speaker 1: when my when my wife and I split up, at
- 20:53Speaker 1: the time my ex wife and I split up, I
- 20:55Speaker 1: remember people were like, you know, oh, they just did
- 20:57Speaker 1: it for the fame they did. It's like, uh, you know,
- 21:01Speaker 1: a lot to go through to try and get you know, Instagram.
- 21:04Speaker 1: I wasn't even around when I was like, I'm like, oh,
- 21:06Speaker 1: when I try to get like, uh my Space followers,
- 21:08Speaker 1: what was I doing this for? You know? Yeah? Yeah.
- 21:12Speaker 1: But I remember thinking to myself, God, it's so pointed, like,
- 21:15Speaker 1: and it was all about the fact that you know,
- 21:17Speaker 1: you were this person, you had this choice to make,
- 21:20Speaker 1: and you still mess it up. How is that possible?
- 21:23Speaker 1: You know? Absolutely? And I actually never thought of it,
- 21:26Speaker 1: but I feel like that that's a that's a really
- 21:28Speaker 1: good theory. But it's funny because I always joke around
- 21:30Speaker 1: with people, like my kids took my our divorce much
- 21:34Speaker 1: better than half of America, Like the divorced with such
- 21:40Speaker 1: grace and they still and I do appreciation and maturity.
- 21:49Speaker 1: My daughter was four, Ford was actually maybe she was
- 21:53Speaker 1: she was foreign. I think he was about to be sick.
- 21:55Speaker 1: I'm trying to think maybe five. But heat when you
- 22:00Speaker 1: when I when we sat in the kitchen and Jake
- 22:02Speaker 1: is like, I can't do it. You have to do it. Really,
- 22:05Speaker 1: when this was before it was happening or during was
- 22:09Speaker 1: this was right, but when we had need the decision,
- 22:11Speaker 1: we're coming open. Yeah, We're sitting in the kitchen and
- 22:16Speaker 1: JP's sitting at the sync and I'm sitting here, and
- 22:18Speaker 1: Ford's there, and SE's there. Es he's young, so I
- 22:20Speaker 1: don't know how much the others stood at the time. Yeah,
- 22:22Speaker 1: never forget. We explained it, you know, like we consulted
- 22:26Speaker 1: with a child psychologist to see how the best way
- 22:28Speaker 1: to present the information was right appropriately for their age.
- 22:32Speaker 1: So when we um, we explained to him in kids turns,
- 22:37Speaker 1: you know, like how people you know when they love
- 22:39Speaker 1: each other and what you do you know, marriage and
- 22:42Speaker 1: then when um, you know, like things don't work out
- 22:44Speaker 1: and you're not being nice kind to each other anymore,
- 22:47Speaker 1: you know whatever. We explained it and that that's what
- 22:51Speaker 1: was happening with us, that we weren't making each other
- 22:54Speaker 1: happy anymore, we weren't being as kind as we wanted
- 22:56Speaker 1: to be our relationship. You know. We're just talking about that.
- 22:59Speaker 1: And you know, he said, he looks, said, I understand,
- 23:04Speaker 1: and I'm okay with it. And I said, so, I
- 23:10Speaker 1: said it again and again and he said, no, Mom,
- 23:14Speaker 1: I get it. I'm okay with it. Understand. You know,
- 23:18Speaker 1: it was really that's a lot of emotional intelligence for
- 23:22Speaker 1: a little kid, you know what I mean. It was,
- 23:25Speaker 1: and they still have been super well adjusted, super you know.
- 23:30Speaker 1: And I think we try to sometimes protect kids from
- 23:32Speaker 1: the world, but know, everybody, divorce is happening. It doesn't
- 23:37Speaker 1: have to be a bad thing. We don't have to
- 23:39Speaker 1: force people to be in a place that's not you know,
- 23:43Speaker 1: working for them anymore. Your kids in a relationship that's
- 23:47Speaker 1: not you know, like just working for everybody. And I
- 23:50Speaker 1: think if you handle it well and you present it well, yeah,
- 23:54Speaker 1: more kids not only will they understand and accept, but
- 23:58Speaker 1: they will flourish. Like I seeing my kids flourish. I
- 24:02Speaker 1: don't know, it's just it's Yeah, you guys are both
- 24:07Speaker 1: such kind and good people. It's like it sounds like
- 24:11Speaker 1: if it has to happen, I mean, you know the
- 24:13Speaker 1: way you handled it. I mean I probably couldn't have
- 24:15Speaker 1: been handled any better. I'm sure. Yeah, I mean we're
- 24:18Speaker 1: not perfect, but I feel like we really did a
- 24:21Speaker 1: pretty good job. Yeah, yeah, it seems like it. So
- 24:25Speaker 1: do you feel like Ford was able to process it
- 24:29Speaker 1: because he saw the way you guys were treating each other.
- 24:35Speaker 1: So that's what everybody, you know, if I ever tell
- 24:38Speaker 1: that story, that's pretty much what the tailor day they observed.
- 24:41Speaker 1: And kids are very smart, So maybe the answer is yes.
- 24:44Speaker 1: But one thing about JP and I is like we're
- 24:46Speaker 1: not fighters, Like we're behind closed doors. We just would
- 24:50Speaker 1: have conversations and it would be tense, but we were
- 24:54Speaker 1: never like me. Yeah, no, I totally get that mentioned too.
- 25:00Speaker 1: There's a possibility about you know that you're right about that.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Maybe he sensed it, Yeah, because I feel like when
- 25:06Speaker 1: Ryan and I argue we're not fighters either, Like, especially
- 25:09Speaker 1: in front of the kids. If we're going to have
- 25:11Speaker 1: a conversation and we know it's going to be you know,
- 25:15Speaker 1: it's going to get heated a little bit. Then we'll
- 25:17Speaker 1: make sure we're private in a bathroom with the door
- 25:20Speaker 1: closed and the fan on or something. You know. Um,
- 25:23Speaker 1: but I feel like anytime I wear it on my face,
- 25:26Speaker 1: like you can see if I'm upset on my face,
- 25:30Speaker 1: Like Blakesley especially is very part of me in tune
- 25:34Speaker 1: with that, and she'll be like, Mom, are you okay? Mom?
- 25:37Speaker 1: What's right? Like? Mom, are you okay? Um? Yeah, yeah,
- 25:43Speaker 1: I get it. I think they can sense that you're right,
- 25:46Speaker 1: like kids just sense what's going on. So maybe he
- 25:50Speaker 1: understood that. I remember when my parents got divorced and
- 25:53Speaker 1: they sat me down and you know the same thing.
- 25:56Speaker 1: You know, we're It's just it's better for everybody involved.
- 26:00Speaker 1: And I think you're right, Like, divorce happens, and you
- 26:04Speaker 1: can still live a happy life after divorce. And obviously
- 26:08Speaker 1: it was an incredible thing that you and JP met
- 26:11Speaker 1: on the show and were able to have, you know,
- 26:14Speaker 1: these two beautiful kids and they have a super happy life.
- 26:19Speaker 1: It seems like so you know, I am all. I
- 26:23Speaker 1: am always of the belief that everything happens for a reason.
- 26:26Speaker 1: And I don't know if you feel that way, but
- 26:29Speaker 1: I you know, like I don't failure. People are like
- 26:32Speaker 1: oh it's a failure and success stories yeah, well does
- 26:37Speaker 1: not mean you're still together like that to get out
- 26:40Speaker 1: of our heads, because the success story is spending time
- 26:45Speaker 1: with someone that brings out the best in you, somebody
- 26:47Speaker 1: that teaches you things about life, somebody that you know
- 26:50Speaker 1: creates another life with you like that success. So I
- 26:53Speaker 1: threw story. Yeah, yeah, I was gonna say you're a
- 26:58Speaker 1: success ready for Florida and see, you know what it's
- 27:01Speaker 1: like that in and of itself, those two beautiful kids
- 27:05Speaker 1: who are just having a blast and you know, enjoying
- 27:07Speaker 1: their life and at the beach while my kids are
- 27:10Speaker 1: fighting off an ice storm. You know, my kids I
- 27:16Speaker 1: think would feel like much more successful if they were
- 27:18Speaker 1: hanging out in Miami right now. Hemmy everybody else's not
- 27:23Speaker 1: as well, right, But so much has happened to you
- 27:26Speaker 1: recently too. Now you obviously moved to Miami, but then
- 27:29Speaker 1: you start your own business, you start your own practice
- 27:31Speaker 1: and go next level there too. So that's going to
- 27:34Speaker 1: be exciting, very exciting. So that has been so I. Yeah.
- 27:38Speaker 1: So I worked as a pediatric dentist here in Miami
- 27:41Speaker 1: for almost seven years at an office and then I
- 27:43Speaker 1: decided to open up my own office, and it has been,
- 27:47Speaker 1: first off, such a blessing, the greatest blessing of my
- 27:51Speaker 1: life really, besides the kids obviously, but yeah, right, really right, yeah,
- 27:58Speaker 1: you got it, yes, but just such a great blessing.
- 28:02Speaker 1: It's taught me so much. Being a business owner is
- 28:07Speaker 1: very challenging, and there's a lot more. You know, it's
- 28:12Speaker 1: very stressful because I'm a perfectionist, so I like everything
- 28:15Speaker 1: to be perfect, everything to be running a specific way. Everything, Like,
- 28:18Speaker 1: I'm very hands on. I'm very hands on a perfection
- 28:23Speaker 1: So that's been the most challenging part is just being
- 28:26Speaker 1: able to control my obsession with perfection. I hear that.
- 28:34Speaker 1: But it's been I mean, it's been a blessing. I'm
- 28:36Speaker 1: so happy that I First off, I'm happy that I
- 28:38Speaker 1: was able to open up my own office because not
- 28:40Speaker 1: everybody is able to. So so yeah, it's been great.
- 28:45Speaker 1: It's been awesome. Question always texts me, call me whatever.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Here's Oh my gosh, Actually I do I mean, seriously,
- 28:54Speaker 1: I don't know. Okay, what is the one tip to
- 28:57Speaker 1: get your kids to brush their teeth? Motivation is very hard, right,
- 29:03Speaker 1: I think that's the most challenging thing. So, first off,
- 29:06Speaker 1: for kids, for people that have little kids is to
- 29:09Speaker 1: spit them off early and be very consistent with the
- 29:13Speaker 1: brushing in their routine. Well, they're especially just to your
- 29:19Speaker 1: kids kids ages, it's more challenging, but I think it's
- 29:23Speaker 1: all about first off, reminding them right, making access to
- 29:27Speaker 1: the supply is easy, and all about routine. It's all
- 29:31Speaker 1: about routine, Like kids love routine. I don't know if
- 29:34Speaker 1: your kids do specific things every night, mind do in
- 29:37Speaker 1: a specific order and brushing in there so as we
- 29:41Speaker 1: can as they get older, I'm just going to continue that.
- 29:44Speaker 1: Sure things can change, the order can change, but for
- 29:48Speaker 1: my kids, it's a non negotiable, Like it's a non negotiable.
- 29:52Speaker 1: They have to brush, they have to philosophy times a week,
- 29:54Speaker 1: like at nine time, absolutely morning and night. Like I'm
- 29:58Speaker 1: kind of crazy about that. It's like taking a shower. Yeah,
- 30:01Speaker 1: I think enforcing it, reminding, making as access easy, and
- 30:04Speaker 1: trying to be really consistent and regimented with them. Yeah.
- 30:18Speaker 1: So I have a specific one. So I have a
- 30:20Speaker 1: four year old who I got it pretty good with
- 30:22Speaker 1: the brushing. I used a little pop patrol, the little
- 30:25Speaker 1: pop Patrol battery operating toothbrush. But is it too early
- 30:30Speaker 1: to flow, and he's never too early to floss, right.
- 30:32Speaker 1: I can't get him to do the floss, so I
- 30:34Speaker 1: do the little tooth picky thingis yeah, okay, okay. So
- 30:39Speaker 1: let me tell you so, usually kids under the age
- 30:42Speaker 1: of four, all of their teeth are spaced out. There's
- 30:45Speaker 1: a space in between all their teeth where the toothbrush
- 30:48Speaker 1: reaches in there. So honestly, technically you don't have to
- 30:51Speaker 1: at that point. But at the age of four, the
- 30:54Speaker 1: back two molars in all four corners of the mouth
- 30:57Speaker 1: they start to touch. That's just developed. The adult teothy're
- 31:01Speaker 1: pushing in pushing forward, so they push them together. As
- 31:03Speaker 1: soon as they're touching, you need to floss in there,
- 31:06Speaker 1: so check it's the back four. If anything touching in
- 31:10Speaker 1: the front, I would flos in there too. I love
- 31:13Speaker 1: the little floss sticks, but you have to do it
- 31:16Speaker 1: for them because at four they just don't have that
- 31:18Speaker 1: deck stery. They can probably do it. Yeah, you really
- 31:21Speaker 1: do need to do the back and what I recommend
- 31:22Speaker 1: doing is dipping your floster in toothpaste and flossing the
- 31:26Speaker 1: toothpaste in between. Because toothpaste has something that they have
- 31:29Speaker 1: to bacterial. It helps a strengthen in between your teeth
- 31:32Speaker 1: and believe it or not, that's where kids in my experience,
- 31:36Speaker 1: especially like six, seven, eight years old, get cavities. It's
- 31:39Speaker 1: in between those baby molars. Yes, I love you at it.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Thank you. I have never heard that before. Love it.
- 31:49Speaker 1: We're doing We're going crazy. We're helping people, helping people
- 31:53Speaker 1: want tooth at a time. Here, I you need guys, anything, Okay, Well,
- 31:59Speaker 1: what I want to know is tell me about the
- 32:01Speaker 1: new love. Tell me about is it Yannie or is
- 32:05Speaker 1: that how you pronounce his name? Yeah, so I knew.
- 32:07Speaker 1: It's just that you're just waiting. You're like, I'm just waiting.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Scoop in there. Okay, this isn't fun. I mean to
- 32:17Speaker 1: know to know. So I love this story because it's
- 32:24Speaker 1: so funny. Okay, I get divorced. It's a year after JP,
- 32:29Speaker 1: a year and a few months after JP and I separate. Okay, Okay,
- 32:34Speaker 1: it's my birthday. My friend plans a dinner for me, okay.
- 32:39Speaker 1: Looking to make a reservation. She knows this guy from
- 32:43Speaker 1: from the hospital. He's a pharmaceutical ren so she knows him.
- 32:47Speaker 1: He's also kind of like a food influencer on the side,
- 32:51Speaker 1: so she kind of kind of big time. It iswallowing.
- 32:57Speaker 1: He's very dedicated to that. So anyway, so she's like, hey,
- 33:01Speaker 1: let me see if I can get he can help
- 33:03Speaker 1: me get a reservation or give recommendation. So they are
- 33:06Speaker 1: talking and whatever. He helps her get a reservation or
- 33:09Speaker 1: something as a thank you, like, hey, thanks for helping me.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Why don't you drop by at the dinner? It's me
- 33:15Speaker 1: and like nine girls. Yes, she's like where she's showing
- 33:20Speaker 1: me the guy, and I don't even think because I
- 33:24Speaker 1: look at him and I'm like, oh, like not really
- 33:26Speaker 1: doesn't seem like physically my type. I was not even
- 33:29Speaker 1: thinking there wasn't in that mindset at all, like at all. Yeah,
- 33:33Speaker 1: we're talking about hooking up with like hooking him up
- 33:36Speaker 1: maybe with one of our other friends who single. Like
- 33:38Speaker 1: we're just like whatever. So we're sitting at the table,
- 33:41Speaker 1: the night's almost over, and then I see this very handsome, tall,
- 33:46Speaker 1: beautiful man walking. I swear it was like slow motion,
- 33:49Speaker 1: like I've never had you just gave me too. That's
- 33:54Speaker 1: not the guy. That's not the guy. And he sits
- 33:56Speaker 1: down and I'm like and I look at my friend.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Why was I not in the running roo? I know
- 34:06Speaker 1: I knew divorce, but like, I don't get why you
- 34:10Speaker 1: didn't even think about Oh, Ashley, no, he's not your type,
- 34:13Speaker 1: like no, no, no, no, She's just like I never
- 34:15Speaker 1: would think of you with him, Like I never would.
- 34:18Speaker 1: So whatever, the night goes on. We finished dinner, we
- 34:21Speaker 1: go to the bar, most of the girls leave. There's
- 34:23Speaker 1: five drols that stick stick around four or five and
- 34:26Speaker 1: we're at the bar talking, drinking and we start, you know,
- 34:30Speaker 1: like maybe I was being a little bit of a flirt.
- 34:33Speaker 1: I don't know, and then that's this history we have
- 34:39Speaker 1: been together for like I guess April will be two years,
- 34:43Speaker 1: so almost that's amazing. I'm looking at his post right
- 34:47Speaker 1: now of like this incredible seafood ensemble and I'm like,
- 34:52Speaker 1: I just got to eat lunch today and I'm super
- 34:55Speaker 1: hungry right now. The funnies. I've never met someone that's
- 34:59Speaker 1: so dedicated to something like that. Like last night he
- 35:03Speaker 1: was over. He was posting from like seven thirty until
- 35:10Speaker 1: one in the morning. What Just like it's a lot
- 35:15Speaker 1: of work, Like people think, yeah it is, Yeah, it's fun,
- 35:20Speaker 1: but it's also a lot of work. And he's so
- 35:22Speaker 1: so dedicated to I love that. Yeah, he's got three
- 35:26Speaker 1: million followers. That doesn't happen by accident, you know, and
- 35:31Speaker 1: they're all authentic, Like he build it from one one followers.
- 35:35Speaker 1: That's amazing stuff. He's like authentically grew that account himself,
- 35:41Speaker 1: buying hand from one follower, So I think that's yeah.
- 35:44Speaker 1: I love it so on all the restaurants and all
- 35:48Speaker 1: the trips, that's amazing. I mean the trips, the trips
- 35:52Speaker 1: like old account couple, Italy trips here and there, right,
- 35:58Speaker 1: I remember Greece. Yeah, has to do it. Yeah, someone
- 36:02Speaker 1: has to do it, and someone has to go along.
- 36:04Speaker 1: I'll be your post one. I'll be sitting like by
- 36:08Speaker 1: cool eating my you know Glacamolean chip, having on and
- 36:12Speaker 1: he's like, You're like, but it's so fun. I really
- 36:20Speaker 1: it's It's been such a wonderful two years and I
- 36:23Speaker 1: can talk a lot. I could talk. I won't bore
- 36:25Speaker 1: you guys with this, but about like dating after marriage
- 36:29Speaker 1: is so interesting, Yeah, because you're going into a relationship
- 36:32Speaker 1: with a completely different perspective. I like what you're right,
- 36:36Speaker 1: Because when you're young, you're like, whant you get married
- 36:38Speaker 1: and don't have kids? What is he going to propose
- 36:41Speaker 1: going into a relationship without those types of expectations is
- 36:45Speaker 1: such a thing because you really get to enjoy the
- 36:48Speaker 1: moments and accept people who they are and the speed
- 36:51Speaker 1: that they want to work at, and it's like it's
- 36:54Speaker 1: so wonderful, it's really cool. It's really was he married
- 36:58Speaker 1: before he was actually for one year or around one year?
- 37:04Speaker 1: And is his wife still? Like? Are they they don't
- 37:09Speaker 1: have kids? Right, he doesn't have any kids. I'd be honest,
- 37:11Speaker 1: I know nothing about her, Like I don't really name. Yeah,
- 37:16Speaker 1: you don't know her name. I don't know her name.
- 37:18Speaker 1: I don't know anything because he's never told you or
- 37:21Speaker 1: because you just don't remember. I'm just like, I don't know.
- 37:25Speaker 1: Oh my god. It's different when you get divorced without kids.
- 37:29Speaker 1: I mean I can speak to this because I've done it,
- 37:32Speaker 1: and other than other than if you are going to
- 37:34Speaker 1: be moving in the same circles. Yeah, my ex wife
- 37:37Speaker 1: and I, you know, are still very friendly because we
- 37:40Speaker 1: have moved in a lot of the same circles. But
- 37:42Speaker 1: it's like, there really isn't a reason to stay connected
- 37:45Speaker 1: to that person other than you know what I mean.
- 37:47Speaker 1: With kids, there's definitely a reason. But when you don't
- 37:49Speaker 1: have children, it's like if you choose to, that's great,
- 37:52Speaker 1: but you know, right, yeah, yeah, yeah, I get that
- 37:56Speaker 1: because she's not like I don't know. I honestly don't know.
- 38:01Speaker 1: I've never even we've talked about it briefly, but like
- 38:05Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't even know her name. Like that,
- 38:07Speaker 1: I need crazy met. You don't need to let me
- 38:10Speaker 1: text him. I think that says a lot about the
- 38:15Speaker 1: confidence you have in your relationship, yet the type of
- 38:17Speaker 1: person to be like, well, I need to know all
- 38:19Speaker 1: of this and I need to be you know who's
- 38:21Speaker 1: texting you. It's like, no, that's why I could text
- 38:23Speaker 1: him and it's no big deal. You'd be like, oh,
- 38:25Speaker 1: you guys are really funny story though on that topic,
- 38:27Speaker 1: because I am very confident, Like that's one thing about
- 38:30Speaker 1: him is he makes me feel like he's not. This
- 38:34Speaker 1: is really I don't know. I explained this. He's the
- 38:35Speaker 1: type of guy he's not. He's not very woman focused,
- 38:38Speaker 1: Like I feel like he doesn't go out and like
- 38:40Speaker 1: look for women. Yeah, kind of to himself. And like
- 38:44Speaker 1: I once was at an event with him. I saw
- 38:45Speaker 1: this girl like kind of like looking at him, going
- 38:47Speaker 1: up to him, talking to him, and he just he
- 38:49Speaker 1: doesn't even like it was or is it. But it's
- 38:53Speaker 1: really funny. So I've always felt very confident. But when
- 38:56Speaker 1: we first started dating, he was on his phone all
- 39:00Speaker 1: the time in the middle of the night, and I'm
- 39:04Speaker 1: because he was doing the foodye stuff, yes, and I'm like,
- 39:09Speaker 1: like I did have questions at that time, like why
- 39:12Speaker 1: are is three in the morning and you're on like
- 39:14Speaker 1: look up and he's on his phone like kind of
- 39:16Speaker 1: turned it and I'm like like, is there something you
- 39:20Speaker 1: need to tell me? Just to light in your eyes
- 39:22Speaker 1: because I'm I'm posting, you know, And I'm don't really
- 39:26Speaker 1: sad because I would like think something was not all
- 39:29Speaker 1: the time you'd be like, no, I'm just posting. I'm
- 39:34Speaker 1: sorry about it. And that was funny because he's on
- 39:39Speaker 1: his phone all the time. So I was thinking like
- 39:41Speaker 1: maybe something but right, So, because both of you have
- 39:45Speaker 1: been divorced, have you thought about what are your thoughts
- 39:49Speaker 1: on marriage in the future. Okay, So when I first
- 39:52Speaker 1: got divorced, I was like, no, I'll never get married
- 39:54Speaker 1: again because I don't have to really. Yeah, totally, we
- 39:57Speaker 1: didn't feel like it didn't makes sense for me. I
- 40:01Speaker 1: think with having kids already and like having a business
- 40:04Speaker 1: and like maybe more assets, Like I felt like it
- 40:06Speaker 1: was going to be complicated, okay, But so I was
- 40:10Speaker 1: very like, oh, I'll never get married again, Noah, girl powers,
- 40:13Speaker 1: sing over whatever whatever in a relationship. And people didn't
- 40:19Speaker 1: agree with me. But I understand because I think people
- 40:22Speaker 1: when they're in a relationship, they want that commitment. It's
- 40:25Speaker 1: not so much about the marriage, but they want that
- 40:27Speaker 1: level of commitment. So for me, I don't want to
- 40:32Speaker 1: get married as long as we're both at the same
- 40:35Speaker 1: level of commitment for now, I think I'm very happy
- 40:39Speaker 1: with as long as we stay committed and you know,
- 40:41Speaker 1: things are going well. I don't think that that'll ever change.
- 40:44Speaker 1: But yeah, you know, I mean I don't know. I
- 40:47Speaker 1: don't know. You're not opposed to it, which is nice,
- 40:49Speaker 1: and you're open to the relationship element, which is she's
- 40:52Speaker 1: opposed to look at that face I learn about marriage.
- 40:56Speaker 1: I feel like it's weird that, like the dad walks
- 40:59Speaker 1: the woman in down the aisle and then he gives
- 41:02Speaker 1: the woman to the man. It feels uncome So yeah,
- 41:07Speaker 1: my personal opinion, I don't need a man panting, like
- 41:10Speaker 1: going from one man to another man, Like I'm all
- 41:12Speaker 1: set that I like them all set. I'm all set.
- 41:19Speaker 1: I respect everybody's beliefs totally, culture and tradition. It just
- 41:25Speaker 1: is probably not for me. Yeah, I hear that, so
- 41:28Speaker 1: would you. Well, I guess it doesn't even matter. I'm
- 41:31Speaker 1: not even gonna ask it. But I feel like when
- 41:33Speaker 1: I got married, the tradition part was really important to me.
- 41:37Speaker 1: And you're right, like after we got married, I still
- 41:41Speaker 1: have this regret that I didn't involve my mom as
- 41:45Speaker 1: much because of the tradition. So, like you know, like
- 41:50Speaker 1: you said, it's tradition for the dad to walk the
- 41:53Speaker 1: bride down the aisle, and I had my dad do that,
- 41:56Speaker 1: and then I had my dad gave like the speech
- 41:59Speaker 1: at the reception and my mom and I. I mean
- 42:03Speaker 1: when my parents divorced in fifth grade, so I lived
- 42:07Speaker 1: with my mom, so I saw my dad like every
- 42:10Speaker 1: other weekend. Um. But I mean, I for I was
- 42:16Speaker 1: really being raised by my mom, you know, just because
- 42:19Speaker 1: we lived together. And I really it's a big regret
- 42:22Speaker 1: of mine to not have involved my mom as much.
- 42:24Speaker 1: So I get that. I totally understand. Every time I
- 42:28Speaker 1: got married, I did it better and better. It's like
- 42:30Speaker 1: my last one. Every time I got married. I gotta
- 42:34Speaker 1: do it every show. Trista, No, I was gonna say,
- 42:39Speaker 1: I don't know your history. So you were married, divorced, remarried.
- 42:44Speaker 1: So here's my history in a nutshell. Everything comes back
- 42:48Speaker 1: to Trista basically for handing me. Hear this, she kicked
- 42:53Speaker 1: me to the curb, so im so. I actually so,
- 42:58Speaker 1: I was a well twenty three year old touring music.
- 43:02Speaker 1: I sent a record deal right on college and I
- 43:04Speaker 1: did the cliche she cliche thing where you marry a model, okay,
- 43:08Speaker 1: and we were married and divorced within a year because
- 43:10Speaker 1: I went on tour with Matchbox twenty as the opener,
- 43:12Speaker 1: and I basically by the time I came home, I
- 43:15Speaker 1: realized that I really wasn't married anymore. So that was awesome.
- 43:18Speaker 1: And then and then a few years later, I end
- 43:20Speaker 1: up on Tristmas season right, and then she, you know,
- 43:26Speaker 1: she rolled the dice with this Ryan character, and thankfully,
- 43:31Speaker 1: you know, because of me endorsing him, they worked out.
- 43:36Speaker 1: I actually really did. I think it's one of my
- 43:37Speaker 1: favorite memories of talking to Tristo about how much I
- 43:40Speaker 1: loved Ryan. But while I was still on the show,
- 43:42Speaker 1: pus um and then um, you know, but it was
- 43:44Speaker 1: one of those things where you know, that was just
- 43:47Speaker 1: such an awesome couple. And then I got married after
- 43:50Speaker 1: being on the show, and that one lasted it's like
- 43:52Speaker 1: six years, and then then we Splepp and now I've
- 43:55Speaker 1: been married every since. So yeah, so technically I should
- 43:57Speaker 1: have gotten annulment probably the first time, but um, I
- 44:00Speaker 1: was too busy traveling around and doing you know the history. Yeah,
- 44:06Speaker 1: so anyway, but I will say to what you were to.
- 44:09Speaker 1: My point three is why even brought that up. Was
- 44:11Speaker 1: my my wife and I got married in twenty sixteen,
- 44:15Speaker 1: and we got it right, you know, like our moms
- 44:18Speaker 1: were our flower girls. My dad was my best man. Yeah,
- 44:25Speaker 1: my sister was the matron of honor. My brother in
- 44:28Speaker 1: law was our reverend you know. Um, so it was
- 44:32Speaker 1: like we really kind of invested in the in those things. Yeah,
- 44:37Speaker 1: that's why I lost it. Yeah, so far, I'm just kidding.
- 44:45Speaker 1: I'm just kidding. I love you and Jess. You guys
- 44:50Speaker 1: were just fine. Thank you. You're all set, as Ashley says,
- 44:53Speaker 1: you're all yes, I'm all set. I'm all well, Ashley.
- 44:59Speaker 1: We I've loved having you hear me, especially, love you
- 45:02Speaker 1: so much. I just feel like whenever we get together,
- 45:06Speaker 1: I just I connect with you so so much. Anytime,
- 45:12Speaker 1: I just actually adore you. Thank you so much for
- 45:15Speaker 1: coming you, Tristo. I feel really connected to you. I
- 45:18Speaker 1: always have thanks for coming. Hopefully I get to see
- 45:21Speaker 1: you in a couple of days, so your schedule so
- 45:24Speaker 1: we can, Okay, I will than I. She is so sweet. Ah,
- 45:32Speaker 1: she's the best. Love her, like, definitely one of my favorite.
- 45:36Speaker 1: I hate that question, like who are your favorite Bachelor
- 45:39Speaker 1: Nation people, because I feel like they're all children, you know,
- 45:42Speaker 1: I can't pick a favorite, but she's definitely one of
- 45:46Speaker 1: my favorites. I mean, one of my favorite memories. We
- 45:48Speaker 1: did this thing in New York um for we TV Bridezillas.
- 45:54Speaker 1: They used to have a show called Bridezillas and it
- 45:55Speaker 1: was me, Yeah, me and her and Dez and Dianna
- 46:00Speaker 1: and I will never forget. We were at this bar
- 46:03Speaker 1: and they started playing um like a Bruno Mars song Finesse,
- 46:08Speaker 1: and we were just in the It seemed like it
- 46:10Speaker 1: was like a like a pub. It wasn't like a club,
- 46:13Speaker 1: it was like a pub. And we were just like
- 46:15Speaker 1: We're just going to get out there and dance. And
- 46:17Speaker 1: one of my favorite memories. Well, especially you being so
- 46:21Speaker 1: like such good dancers. I can only imagine you probably
- 46:24Speaker 1: had some routines in common you'd throw out there in
- 46:26Speaker 1: the dais right. Oh. The thing is, I don't remember
- 46:29Speaker 1: stuff like I literally started learning these routines for this
- 46:32Speaker 1: weekend two days ago, and I Bob, I, I'm so old.
- 46:38Speaker 1: I go to bed like so sort of like rickety,
- 46:41Speaker 1: like my neck is killing me. I know, yeah, Blakeslee
- 46:49Speaker 1: should probably take a video. I'm sure Blakesley will be there.
- 46:55Speaker 1: I don't know, because she came to like the dance
- 46:57Speaker 1: studio that I'm rehearsing at, and she was a lively me.
- 47:00Speaker 1: I'm like, pleasly, Grace, you cannot laugh at your mother
- 47:05Speaker 1: back of the day, I could do this move right now.
- 47:07Speaker 1: I'm gonna take a slower row, like when I do
- 47:09Speaker 1: exercises at home, and they're like for those of you
- 47:12Speaker 1: who can't keep up, you know, I'm like, that's me
- 47:13Speaker 1: because I cannot keep up what I need to totally
- 47:17Speaker 1: all right, Thanks Bob, Thanks everybody, good right, everybody
