Leon Black Storms Out Of His Epstein Related Congressional Interview (6/29/26) · The Epstein Chronicles

0:00
Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
0:03
Epstein Chronicles. On Friday, the twenty sixth of June, Leon
0:08
Black appeared before the Congressional committee overseeing the investigation into
0:12
Jeffrey Epstein, and in the middle of that hearing, Leon
0:15
Black ended up getting up and walking out when he
0:19
found out that he was going to be hit with
0:20
a subpoena to be under oath instead of just giving testimony.
0:25
And according to sources, this all went down in the
0:28
middle of the hearing. So Leon Black was being asked
0:31
questions about NDAs and he didn't want to answer them,
0:35
so in the middle of the hearing, according to sources,
0:37
we weren't there obviously, but according to sources, Leon Black
0:41
and his legal team decided enough was enough. And I
0:44
think it really goes to the heart of what we've
0:46
been talking about. Right, this committee has no teeth. If
0:51
a guy like Leon Black can get up and walk
0:53
out in the middle of a congressional hearing, does that
0:56
signal to you that it's serious, that there's consequences if
1:01
you lie, if you don't tell the truth. Because from
1:03
more I'm sitting it does the opposite, and it just
1:08
confirms everything I've been saying about this committee since the beginning,
1:11
and this is why this voluntary nonsense is a bunch
1:14
of bs. Everybody should be subpoena, everybody should be under oath.
1:18
And if they don't respond to the subpoena they don't
1:21
show up, well, guess what, they go to jail. We
1:26
had no problem sending people to jail for not showing
1:29
up for subpoenas previously, right, So what's the problem here?
1:34
Why is this committee doing everything it can to continue
1:38
to protect Jeffrey Epstein's friends. Today's article is from the
1:41
New York Post and the headline House Committee subpoena is
1:46
Leon Black midway through the Jeffrey Epstein testimony. And look,
1:49
there's no doubt that that's a bit odd. That's not
1:52
something you see all the time. So on giving testimony
1:55
and then getting subpoena in the middle of that testimony
1:58
by the same people that we are giving the testimony to,
2:01
not exactly confidence inducing that Leon Black is telling the truth?
2:05
Is it? This article was authored by Josh Christiansen and
2:09
James Frainey. Billionaire investor Leon Black was hit with a
2:13
subpoena from the House Oversight Committee midway through testimony on
2:17
his relationship with late finance here and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
2:22
The move came after Black, the co founder of Apollo
2:24
Global Management, refused to answer lawmaker's questions about whether there
2:28
are any non disclosure deals between him and women connected
2:32
to Epstein. Lawmakers said, now, why wouldn't he answer that.
2:36
I'm sure it has nothing to do with incriminating himself, right,
2:39
Leon Black has paid close to two hundred million dollars
2:42
when it comes to Jeffrey Epstein, not to Jeffrey Epstein himself,
2:46
but two hundred dollars in total, when we're talking about fines,
2:49
when we're talking about settlements and NDAs. Does that sound
2:53
like a man who's innocent, who didn't do any of
2:55
this stuff, who wasn't around Epstein, who knows nothing, who
2:59
gets up and walks out of a congressional testimony. I'll
3:02
tell you who. Somebody that is scared shitless of telling
3:07
the truth, that's who. And maybe, just maybe, if James
3:10
Comer and his buddies would have went and sat down
3:13
with Les Wexner, they would have come to the same conclusion.
3:16
But they couldn't be bothered to do that. Black's now
3:21
set to come back to Congress for videotape testimony under
3:24
oath on July sixteenth, per one of the subpoenas. The
3:27
other one demands the NDAs. Look, Leon Black stepped in it.
3:32
This dude directly stepped in it. Now, do I think
3:34
he's going to be held accountable? I don't. They're never
3:37
held accountable. What would make this different? I mean, maybe
3:41
that there's a little more publicity and people are paying attention,
3:44
But besides that, I don't think anybody in Congress really cares.
3:50
And I think that the litmus test is going to
3:53
be after midterms. If people keep talking about the subject,
3:56
the topic cool, but after the elections might yes, is
4:00
all these people who have been riding the wave, trying
4:03
to use this politically against their enemies, et cetera, et cetera.
4:06
Those people, they're gonna fade into the background and they're
4:10
gonna start talking about all the other shit they were
4:12
talking about previously, and then whatever becomes profitable they'll jump
4:18
on that. And that's the same cycle we've seen over
4:20
and over when it comes to the Epstein story. People
4:23
aren't built for the long haul. People don't have the
4:27
patience people don't have the willpower to see it all
4:32
the way through. And I get that there's a lot
4:34
going on in the world. I completely understand, But for
4:38
me personally, there's no issue bigger than this one. And
4:42
that's why we're going to continue to harp on it
4:44
no matter what. I don't care if we have a
4:47
million listeners or five. The importance doesn't change because interest
4:52
is fading away. So we're going to really see who's
4:55
about it after this election cycle. And I want you
4:57
to pay attention to the people that use this as
5:00
vehicle to get where they're going, and then after they
5:03
get to their destination, they abandoned the topic because believe
5:06
me when I tell you it's coming. We need the
5:11
NDAs to be able to move forward with the Investigation
5:14
Oversight Committee. James Comer Toll reporters mentioning that they concerned
5:18
women possibly in Epstein's orbit, not possibly for sure, Like
5:23
this isn't new to us, and it shouldn't be new
5:26
to Congress either, And I think that's one of the
5:29
biggest problems that people have. If all of us knew
5:32
about this for all these years, how did all of
5:35
these folks miss it? Or was it that they knew
5:39
and they just look the other way. I know that's uncomfortable,
5:42
but a lot of these people that are in office,
5:45
they don't have any tenable ground to stand on. They
5:48
knew what was going on. We want to know was
5:51
Jeffrey Epstein involved in the NDAs, was he involved in
5:54
writing was he involved in awarding funds to the women
5:56
for the NDAs? What was the reason for the NDA.
6:00
We want to know everything about the NDAs, added Comer.
6:04
And look, that's well within Congress's purview. And if the
6:08
DOJ ever files charges against Leon Black, those NDAs go
6:13
out the window. Criminal court is where NDA is going
6:17
to die. And we saw it with Diddy, we saw
6:21
it with Epstein several times, and will continue to see it.
6:25
The NDA has no bearing when it becomes a criminal case.
6:30
The investor earlier told the committee in a closed door
6:32
deposition that he played no part in Epstein's sex trafficking scheme.
6:37
A lawyer for Black voiced outrage over the subpoenas well.
6:40
Of course, that's the last thing I want to do,
6:43
be under oath, have to tell the truth God forbid,
6:46
and why a guy like Leon Black was given the
6:48
option to appear voluntarily is a mystery for the ages.
6:52
Every single person that was even considered a co conspirator
6:55
at some point, they should not be given voluntary interviews.
7:00
They should be under oath and forced to tell the truth,
7:03
and if they don't, there should be serious consequences. Mister
7:07
Black came here voluntarily to assist the committee. This was
7:10
nothing more than a planned political stunt. Mister Epstein had
7:13
no involvement with any NDAs, whether they exist or not.
7:17
Attorney Susan Estrich said in a statement, let me reiterate,
7:20
the committee did not ask a single question about the
7:22
legitimate payments to at Epstein for a professional services on
7:26
tax and estate matters. Let me reiterate. Your client isn't
7:30
there to set the terms. Your client's there to answer questions.
7:35
And if you guys don't like that, nobody gives a
7:37
fuck anymore. I'm so sick of these ultra rich people
7:40
thinking they can do whatever they want and then people
7:43
showing up and acting like, yeah, you know, he's being
7:45
unfairly targeted. No he's not. No, he's fucking not. The
7:49
guy's an absolute liar. And it's my opinion that if
7:52
a competent prosecution took over, and they looked into Leon Black,
7:57
and they looked into his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. They'd
8:00
come to find that there was a lot of money
8:02
laundering going on. But I guess we're not going to
8:04
follow the money trail, right, not salacious enough, A bunch
8:07
of clowns. One of Epstein's biggest clients. Black told the
8:12
committee he had been deceived by a man he hired
8:15
for tax advice. Imagine hiring Epstein for tax advice? What
8:19
is the H and R fucking block? Yeah, I'm Jackson
8:22
hewit over here. What does Jeffrey Epstein know about taxes
8:26
besides how to hide money and launder it? Oh, that's right. Nothing.
8:30
But let me give him hundreds of millions of dollars.
8:32
And for my next trick, I'm gonna pay a mechanic
8:36
five hundred million to cook me food. I've never abused
8:42
old woman, he said. I have never been with an
8:44
underage woman. I've never engaged in sex trafficking. Black also
8:48
denied paying Epstein for access to women, insisting he had
8:52
never been blackmailed. Well, I thought Jeffrey Epstein was the
8:55
greatest black mela in the world, and that's how he
8:58
got Les Wexner and Bill Gay to get on board,
9:01
or maybe hear me out. They didn't need any convincing
9:05
you ever think about that. I was not involved with
9:10
and had no knowledge of, any of Epstein's he and
9:12
his conduct, he said. The seventy four year old, worth
9:15
an estimated thirteen and a half billion, according to Forbes,
9:18
paid Epstein one hundred and fifty eight million over five
9:21
years for his state and tax planning thirty million a year.
9:26
Bro was making more than Jalen Brunson. Okay, think about that.
9:31
So do you think that Jeffrey Epstein's advice about taxes
9:34
was worth that kind of money? Worth more than Jalen
9:38
Brunson's contract. I'm not buying it now. If you want
9:44
to believe it and you want to buy it, I
9:46
really don't care. I don't care what anybody else thinks,
9:49
what anybody else does, what anybody else says. He told
9:57
the committee that he thought he was paying far less.
10:00
Drafted testimony claimed that Epstein falsely promised the fees were
10:03
tax deductible or sixty cents on the dollar. Oh yeah,
10:06
I'm sure he promised that. Easy to blame everything on him, right,
10:09
Epstein's gone. Nobody can say, oh, well, that's a lie.
10:15
What Black believed was ninety five million in net fees
10:18
turned out to be one hundred and fifty eight million,
10:20
he said, while admitting that the late pedophile solved the
10:23
massive estate problem that lawyers could not. Yeah, I'm sure
10:27
he did illegally backdoor channels, doing things he shouldn't do.
10:32
By the way, Leon Black, have you declared your art?
10:36
How much of that art have you declared? How much
10:39
of it's taxable? Where's it dashed? Do you have it
10:41
hidden overseas? How many accounts do you have? We can
10:45
go all day. The problem is the committee doesn't have
10:49
the stones. He fired the finance here in twenty eighteen
10:54
after a dispute over fees and unpaid thirty million dollar loan.
10:58
Black stepped down as Apollo's chief executive in twenty twenty one.
11:02
The company is now led by Mark Rowan. Black's testimony
11:06
cited a review by the law firm Deckert, which found
11:10
that he paid Epstein the mass of some but uncovered
11:12
no evidence he took part in any crimes. Oh of
11:15
course not. But it was bad enough. He had to
11:17
step down right, forced out by Josh Harris forced out
11:20
by Mark Rowan, But sure, nothing to see here. Keep
11:25
in mind that Leon Black's son is part of the
11:28
Trump administration. Black said that Deckert examined sixty thousand documents
11:37
and interviewed twenty people over three months. He called himself
11:40
the only public figure in Epstein's orbit took commission an
11:43
independent investigation and make the results public. Ah, yeah, independent investigation?
11:49
Is it? You mean? Internal investigation? Stupid? The Wall Street
11:53
big wigs said that he met Epstein in the mid
11:55
nineties and gave him a second chance after his two
11:58
thousand and eight conviction force solicit a minor. These people
12:01
are so fucking dumb that it's not funny. And furthermore,
12:05
Alan Dershowitz and his big fucking mouth running around yapping
12:08
all the time about how he doesn't have anything to
12:10
do with anything. Yeah you do, bitch, Yeah you do.
12:14
What's up with the NPA? How many backroom deals were
12:17
made to have that happen? How deeply were you involved?
12:21
How many times did you do the end around the
12:24
local southern district of Florida to go to Maine justice?
12:27
Stop the bullshit. The whole entire point of that first
12:30
prosecution was so we'd be here now, so later on
12:33
down the road these idiots could point to that prosecution
12:36
and say, oh, we had no idea. We thought it
12:38
was a girl with a fake ID. She was seventeen.
12:41
Fuck you, fuck them, and fuck that narrative. He said.
12:48
Epstein told him the case was an isolated incident involving
12:51
a fake ID. I knew, jack O Black said, I
12:53
didn't know Hyde. Oh no, sure you didn't. Just had
12:56
him involved in calling the FSB to press Zelgonieva, but
13:01
no big deal. I had no idea who he was.
13:04
He said. He didn't learn of Epstein's sex trafficking of
13:06
miners until the financier was charged for the crime in
13:09
July of twenty nineteen. The Justice Department alleged to Epstein
13:14
created a vast network of girls, some as young as fourteen,
13:17
for him to sexually abuse between two thousand and two
13:20
and two thousand and five FBI files released by the
13:24
Trump administration. Released by the Trump Administration, Kicking and Screaming
13:29
is the author for real here. I'm getting sick of
13:31
this shit too. And if you haven't noticed, like Circe Lanister,
13:35
I woke up today and I chose verbal violence I've
13:38
had enough, enough of the gas lighting and enough of
13:40
the bullshit. One Epstein victim told agents in twenty nineteen
13:46
that Epstein directed her to give massages to Black and others,
13:50
but New York prosecutors examined the claim and ever charged them. Yeah,
13:54
the whole idea was to control the blast area, just
13:58
like I told you. Black devoted much of his Friday
14:01
statement to three civil suits brought by the whig Door
14:04
law firm, calling them baseless and fabricated. The first two
14:08
were dismissed with prejudice. In the third, the ex Apollo
14:12
CEO said, a federal judge issued a seventy six page
14:15
ruling last month sanctioning the plaintiff, her lawyer, and the
14:19
firm for submitting false evidence. He said that the plaintiff
14:23
testified she bore four of Epstein's children, three of them
14:26
kidnapped at birth. As a result of this torrent of
14:30
lies and misrepresentations, I've received death threats and my family
14:34
now feels unsafe. For the first time in my life,
14:37
I've had to deploy a body guard. Black said, according
14:40
to the prepared remarks, these people are all the victims. Now.
14:44
The whole idea what they're trying to do here is
14:47
throw a lid on the conversation. They don't want you
14:50
talking about Leon Black, they don't want you talking about
14:53
Les Wexner. For the first time ever, these dudes are
14:56
in the spotlight and guess what. Welcome to the show.
15:01
Before the session began, Comer told reporters he believed it
15:04
might be the most groundbreaking hearing yet in the committee's
15:07
nearly year old Epstein probe. What stop it, Give me
15:12
a break, James Comer, Okay, this could be a pretty
15:16
significant deposition as we try to get answers, he said.
15:20
The committee is investigating how the federal government handled Epstein
15:23
and his associate, Glenn Maxwell, the socialized daughter of a
15:27
British newspaper tycoon. Epstein died by suicide allegedly in August
15:33
twenty nineteen while awaiting trial. I'm glad the author is
15:36
so confident in that well, he died by suicide. The
15:39
government told me so, and it was backed up by
15:41
Nicholas Tartaglioni. The panel previously interviewed former President Bill Clinton
15:48
and billionaire Bill Gates, who both denied wrongdoing. Black and
15:52
his family on about fourteen percent of Apollo Representative Robert Garcia,
15:57
the top Democrat on the Oversight Committee, support of subpoenaing Black.
16:02
There are numerous allegations of real abuse by women by
16:05
survivors against mister Black. Garcia said, we understand that mister
16:10
Black may also be connected and had a relationship with
16:14
President Trump. Always President Trump thrown in, and that of
16:18
course causes more division, Like we get it. Okay, Trump
16:22
is overseeing this cover up. But if you try to
16:25
connect every single piece and thread directly back to Trump,
16:28
this is gonna fail. Trump certainly played his part here
16:32
with a cover up and certainly had a relationship with
16:34
Epstein in the past. But the whole story isn't about Trump,
16:38
and the more people like Garcia try to make it
16:40
all about Trump and not about the overall empire. Notice
16:44
he doesn't talk Rico. Notice he doesn't talk the NPA.
16:47
Notice he doesn't talk holding people accountable from the first negotiation. No,
16:52
what does he do? Sam old shit? So I told
16:55
you from the beginning about Garcia and the thoughts I
16:58
had about him, and how I didn't think he was
17:00
being honest, and I feel the same way now, In fact,
17:02
worse him and comer two peas in a pot and
17:05
this committee absolute joke. All the information that goes with
17:09
this episode can be found in the description box.
