• 0:00
Welcome into the two-minute timeout. Uh
• 0:02
sponsored by Bunkers in Auburn downtown.
• 0:04
Go check them out. Uh great food, uh
• 0:06
atmosphere, sports bar area. So go check
• 0:08
out Bunkers Auburn downtown. And uh a
• 0:10
lot to talk about. Uh been a little bit
• 0:12
of a break and boy, it's been busy uh
• 0:14
from a portal standpoint as Alex Gooish
• 0:17
and his staff kind of hit the ground
• 0:18
running. Um you know, once the portal
• 0:21
flipped over to January 2nd and uh a lot
• 0:23
of additions so far, a lot of South
• 0:25
Florida flavor, which is what we
• 0:26
expected uh with USF. Those are the guys
• 0:28
you you probably have a chance to get
• 0:30
earlier uh that that believe in as as
• 0:33
Alex Goo says proof of concept the
• 0:34
things you're doing. And so one of the
• 0:36
the biggest ones uh came on early on
• 0:38
Tuesday morning with with Byron Brown uh
• 0:41
committed to the Tigers. And you start
• 0:43
looking at the way the portal works for
• 0:45
me and I I really been paying attention
• 0:47
the last couple years to quarterback OC
• 0:50
  coaching groups staying together and
• 0:52
when you do that it gives you a chance
• 0:54
to have some continuity. you look at at
• 0:56
  Indiana's what they've done at
• 0:57
Vanderbilt and others. Um I really think
• 1:00
  that continuity of quarterback coach
• 1:02
bringing those guys together is a big
• 1:04
deal. Um but you're adding receivers,
• 1:07
you could add a couple other guys too
• 1:08
from that USF offense as well. And so I
• 1:11
think that's a big deal when you start
• 1:12
talking about look trying to win. And
• 1:14
listen, people have talked about the the
• 1:16
the the balance of building for the
• 1:18
future or winning now. There is no
• 1:20
future in college sports. It is now.
• 1:22
every year is now because there's no
• 1:24
guarantee what 2027 looks like. I think
• 1:27
if you're Auburn, you look at it going,
• 1:28
look, this is the best opportunity to go
• 1:30
try to win now is to add Byron Brown, to
• 1:32
add these pieces from USF. And now you
• 1:34
mix them in with some talented young
• 1:36
guys. You're going to add more players
• 1:37
from the portal over the next couple of
• 1:39
weeks as you look towards um 2026. And
• 1:42
so, a lot of things to digest. Still a
• 1:44
lot more to come from the portal for
• 1:46
Auburn, but you start looking at the
• 1:47
pieces starting to kind of fit in place.
• 1:50
Go get some offensive line guys,
• 1:51
defensive line, and and and filter in,
• 1:53
see what happens. So, go check them out.
