Alabama’s ADECA is distributing $5.7 million from the Volkswagen emissions settlement to fund projects that slash nitrogen oxide pollution — a direct response to VW’s diesel cheating scandal. Applications are open now, with a deadline of October 6th. This third phase of the $14 billion settlement targets clean air and economic growth, rewarding applicants who also boost local economies.
