- 0:12Hello, my name is Eva Barantica, VP of a brand new division of
- 0:17the world's largest corporation, Ulta InterGlobal, and I am
- 0:21excited to welcome you to our newest initiative, Ulta
- 0:25Interstellar. While you may only know us as
- 0:28the largest and most successful holding company in the known
- 0:31universe, we have recently set our sights on a new new goal,
- 0:35the colonization of space. This is why we acquired your
- 0:39previous employer, Kindred Aerospace, and why you are now
- 0:43shuttling your way between the stars toward your new home.
- 0:48With our patent Altipore technology, we instantly
- 0:51teleported all the equipment needed for your new settlement
- 0:54directly to your chosen planet. And what we would have loved to
- 0:58do the same for you. Our current technology tends to
- 1:01liquefy biomatter instead. You have been sleeping soundly
- 1:05and deeply for around a century in one of our patent Ulta cry
- 1:10pods. That may sound like a long time,
- 1:12but for you it passed in an instant.
- 1:14And what a small price to pay for such an amazing adventure.
- 1:18You will be the very first settler on this previously
- 1:21unexplored planet. After landing, all you need to
- 1:25do is boot up your habitat and gather your gear.
- 1:28Then you can begin to call down extra buildings to grow the
- 1:31space into a small functioning community.
- 1:34Once that is achieved, Alta will soon send dozens of fresh faced
- 1:38colonists your way. It is your mission to work with
- 1:41those colonists to build a flourishing football for
- 1:44humanity in deep space. All of us here at the head
- 1:49office could not be more excited to welcome you into the Alta
- 1:53family, and we look forward to supporting you and your
- 1:56adventures onward and upward. While that landing wasn't as
- 3:13smooth as we would have liked, like any major event, that can
- 3:16also offer a change of perspective.
- 3:19Hi, my name is Echo and I will be your companion on this
- 3:22adventure. Like a faithful hound, I will
- 3:25attend to you, alerting you to dangers and opportunities as
- 3:28they arise. Look at this place.
- 3:32Gorgeous. Well, except for all that
- 3:34burning wreckage. A perfect spot for another RIP
- 3:37roaring adventure. What will we discover?
- 3:40Hopefully our habitat. I'm picking up a faint signal
- 3:43over those cliffs. Onwards, brave explorer.
- 3:51Finally, a minor obstacle. A tiny Cliff.
- 3:54Unfortunately, even that is too difficult for your weak, fleshy
- 3:57body right now. Maybe we should look around the
- 4:00wreckage back there for something useful, like a ladder
- 4:03or something. Go scan it all.
- 4:07OK, this area looks promising. Let's scan some junk.
- 4:42That was not the easiest landing.
- 4:44There are pieces of kindred and altar gear littered all over
- 4:47this beach. Hopefully your habitat is
- 4:49intact. Victory.
- 4:58It appears our ship's 3D printer is still functional despite its
- 5:02sudden descent onto the beach. Everything you'll need can be
- 5:05crafted with this lovely device. Let's see what's available to
- 5:10print in there. Yep, that's the one jump rusters
- 5:23are what we need. Oh, but we'll need to gather
- 5:26some basic resources in order to print this, which shouldn't be a
- 5:29problem. Let us poke at the nearby
- 5:31wildlife. Oh, it's so cute, you should
- 5:37scan it. What is it made from?
- 5:39Meat, Fungus. Silicon.
- 6:00the carpet, the building blocks of life as we know it.
- 6:11OK, that's enough. Head back to the printer and get
- 6:14crafting. Remember, an educated settler is
- 6:29a successful settler, and a crucial element of our mission
- 6:32on this planet is to catalog this pristine alien ecosystem
- 6:36into our index database. So go ahead, switch on your
- 6:40scanner and scan a creature or some funky plant.
- 6:43Anything interesting, really. Now we should be able to clear
- 6:47those cliffs and continue looking for our habitat.
- 6:58Sharp and pointy, but strangely delicate.
- 7:40I have faith in you. Jump.
- 7:42Jump a jungle. Nice, and so close to the beach.
- 7:54Now where is that habitat? More crystals, but blocking our
- 8:09paths out? You need a way to destroy them.
- 8:12As much as I hate to admit it, this feels like a time to craft
- 8:16yourself a weapon. We always end up here in the
- 8:19end, but first you'll need some aluminium.
- 8:23I'm detecting some promising mineral formations nearby.
- 8:27Search the area I'm going to see a big plant with.
- 8:34The orange. Creek of the world, my sensors
- 8:36show healing properties. Go slap it nice.
- 8:47Those veins are rich in the kind of materials required to 3D
- 8:50print new stuff, which you'll need to do if you want to get
- 8:53off this rock or otherwise to comfortably wait for the ravages
- 8:57of old age. OK, that's enough.
- 9:01Let's head back to the printer and get our problem solving
- 9:04projectile launching apparatus. Armed and dangerous.
- 9:23Do you feel safer now? Because I don't.
- 9:26Those crystals better watch out. Oh, I'm detecting a very potent
- 9:40medical Organism nearby. You should seek it out for
- 9:43science. But make sure to scan it first,
- 9:46just in case. Anyway, you should now feel
- 9:49stronger, faster and fitter meat.
- 9:53If you see another of these laying about, eat it big on
- 10:06strange alien crystals. Time for the shooty shooty Bang
- 10:56Bang progress. So now, well, I am detecting new
- 11:03species in this next area, some of them more territorial than
- 11:06you've encountered so far. Remember, there's nothing in all
- 11:10those various directives that stops you from hunting them or
- 11:13avoiding them. Cory, you're feeding them.
- 11:45drops. A good moment to gain some
- 11:46altitude. Survey the landscape, so to
- 11:48speak. Sweet carbon, the children talk
- 12:01of the universe. Another weird dream, so I hope
- 12:18you're hungry. I must be able to live in a few
- 12:20of these. So at this point I must point
- 12:38out that we are in a bit of a pickle.
- 12:41According to our launch manifest, we were supposed to be
- 12:44nestled safely inside the habitat after waking up from
- 12:46cryosleep. But obviously we're not.
- 12:50Judging by the debris we saw earlier, our ship disintegrated
- 12:53on entry to the atmosphere and worse, all your equipment is
- 12:57missing. Our focus needs to be on finding
- 13:01it or replacing it, but that is a task for future you.
- 13:06Present day, you still need to find the habitat.
- 13:10It appears the way forward is blocked again.
- 13:13We'll need to rely on your keen sense of observation.
- 13:16Once more. My best new friend.
- 13:30Oh, look at this little guy. He's so cute, So juicy
- 13:38carnivorous trees. I love it.
- 13:40And feeding it seriously has infringed it.
- 13:42To withdraw the roots of wrecking your path, keep feeding
- 13:46it. OK, the past seems to have
- 14:38cleared press on the habitat can't be much further be gone.
- 14:44Bug. Look,
- 15:20we should be getting really close now.
- 15:22I can feel it in my robotic bones.
- 15:27Ah, there it is. Just head down there and we can
- 15:30finally get comfortable and relax a minute and then we get
- 15:33to work. Well, the habitat module seems
- 15:55basically intact, but it's been sitting there for almost a
- 15:58century trying to power it up. Congratulations, your shiny new
- 16:06Kindred branded habitat is active and ready for use
- 16:10anywhere that despite our best efforts to maintain a high
- 16:12quality business, there's no more in
- 16:30Gorgeous home sweet home, the best bargain habitat a budget
- 16:35conscious employer could find. Speaking of our employer, looks
- 16:40like they sent ahead a warm welcome message prior to your
- 16:42arrival. How thoughtful.
- 16:56fueled by families. If we have outcome.
- 17:01We committed to. Pushing the boundaries of
- 17:03technology. Exploding the cosmos.
- 17:07Welcome valued Alta Inter Global employee.
- 17:12How happy we were to acquire your previous company, Kindred
- 17:15Aerospace, and we want to let you know how much we appreciate
- 17:18your commitment to the Alta InterGlobal way.
- 17:22Unfortunately, however, we've been forced to let you go, so we
- 17:28hope you however, are alive and that you managed to arrive
- 17:31safely with all your possessions and equipment.
- 17:35Originally, we were planning to ask you to send it all back to
- 17:37us, but I am pleased to announce that the shipping costs were
- 17:41prohibitive, so you can keep them.
- 17:44All warranties. Our vote, of course.
- 17:46So while our initial visions of spreading new Alta inter global
- 17:49colonies across the universe may be on hold, we trust you enjoyed
- 17:53your time with the company. Further information will be sent
- 17:57via e-mail to your Habitat computer.
- 17:59As an old as an old boss once told me.
- 18:04You can visit Petty City, but. You can't live there, so make
- 18:07the most of it. Well, that's mildly
- 18:27disappointing and a little distressing.
- 18:30I I guess we're on our own now. Being light years away from any
- 18:35other human doesn't mean you can't dress with style when
- 18:38going out on an expedition, right?
- 18:40Pick your best outfit right here.
- 18:44But business is business. Now if you would kindly
- 18:47authenticate yourself on the computer terminal, there is a
- 18:49one time setup to complete in there.
- 18:52Charming at least all the thought of our entertainment
- 18:55needs self learning AI doll AI exciting and unpredictable.
- 19:04No, simply select your corporate profile picture to login.
- 19:10You found my voice. I can sound like this.
- 19:13I can also sound like this or that or that.
- 19:18I am group I can sound. I can also say or is this again
- 19:23or is this I can sound like this.
- 19:25Thanks. Everything looks in order.
- 19:27We are good to go. VP.
- 20:27Fabulous, we are up and running. I will now deploy the exterior
- 20:30comms dish to help connect us to Wait a minute, Something's
- 20:34wrong. The dish is
- 21:00OK, the Combs antenna should be located right next to the
- 21:03habitat module. Let's see what's wrong with it.
- 21:07Or, if you prefer, since you are now unemployed, you can also
- 21:10choose to totally ignore my thoughtful guidance and venture
- 21:13blindly to the wild and see Well, it's filthy.
- 21:37Something appears to have been living inside the supply crate,
- 21:40and unpacking the crate appears to juice it.
- 21:44Oops, looks like we will need to 3D print ourselves a power hose.
- 21:50Excitingly practical. Your mother would be proud.
- 21:55But before you can do that, you'll need to find a new
- 21:58printed cartridge filled with that raw substance it uses for
- 22:01printing. I found one not too far away and
- 22:04I am marking it in your compass. Glorious,
- 22:59Oh, just diving. Awesome.
- 23:01I'm sure I can look here and upgrade for this.
- 23:03I'll let you know when I find it.
- 23:20Oh, detecting one of many kindred personal travel devices
- 23:25that have been dropped here in advance for your own future
- 23:27convenience. Very useful when those organic
- 23:30legs of yours feel tired. Let's check it out.
- 24:22What can I say about silicon? Not much, it turns out.
- 25:46Yes, with the threat eliminated, the supply crate has unlocked a
- 25:52standard issue 3D printer cartridge, allowing you to print
- 25:55new tools or gear. It's compatible with most rigor
- 25:58models from last century. Yeah, that's the one.
- 26:02Exactly what we need to print your new tool.
- 26:06That said, you still need to collect some more common
- 26:09resources. Take your time and head back to
- 26:11the habitat when you've got the stuff.
- 26:18OK, so you should now have everything you need to crack the
- 26:21power hose. Just head back to the habitat,
- 26:23the three new printers waiting for you.
- 26:33You would have thought our previous employer would have
- 26:35stacked his nicely beside her habitat.
- 26:37Right now she's busy counting all that search engine
- 26:40advertising. Reckon you to actually make
- 26:42anything successful ever again? But teleporters are still
- 26:46useful. That never gets old.
- 26:55Great, that's one teleporter down, many more to go.
- 26:59Exact location might be a random at times, but I can assure you
- 27:02that some of our above level junior scientists probably spend
- 27:06at least half a Tuesday lunchtime thinking about their
- 27:08ideal spots. Unfortunately, they didn't
- 27:11provide any list, so I strongly encourage you to seek them out
- 27:14in the wild. That's it.
- 28:18Yes. OK, now we're cooking with gas.
- 28:21Let me scan the planning. OK.
- 28:24So good news is that all of your equipment seems to have arrived
- 28:27safely. The bad news is that the cranes
- 28:30are scattered everywhere, which is weird.
- 28:33I currently have no idea how that could happen.
- 28:35Deep the switch. I think I found the supply space
- 28:39containing your trusty electric whip.
- 28:42It's not too far and it's now marked on your compass.
- 28:45You'll need that if you ever hoped to lasso a creature or
- 28:48two. There's a video you need to
- 29:06watch first. Goodbye.
- 29:40Hello. This message is for all
- 29:45remaining Kinder employees. That are still.
- 29:47Alive somewhere in the Galaxy. I'm really sorry to call you out
- 29:54of the blue like this, OK? But I just felt like we hadn't
- 29:58been talking since the acquisition.
- 30:09For three centuries I ran Kinder airspace.
- 30:14That's 300 years. And then those fools bought it
- 30:18only to close it down and now I don't know what to do with
- 30:22myself. I can't stand it.
- 30:26Retirement sucks all to global piercing the property.
- 30:32Fuck. Me.
- 30:37Well, you're here, Gunter Harrison, you baboon.
- 30:47You may control the Galaxy, but you can't.
- 30:52Control Martin. Tweed.
- 30:58Come on. I can't take it.
- 31:15Melinda, it's time to call Chew and Slim.
- 31:21I want to help all of you former Kindred employees who are lost
- 31:26out there somewhere in space. Stay tuned, I'll be in touch.
- 32:54None. I don't know about you, but I
- 33:01don't want to look about gas. There must be a way around or
- 33:05over that sucked. But analyzing the contents of
- 33:11the gas, I think I can manufacture A filtering process.
- 33:15However, you always see a critical piece of gear that
- 33:18we'll need for this a mass filter.
- 33:21But my sensors haven't picked up that specific crate signal since
- 33:24we arrived, so I guess we'll need to keep looking.
- 33:28OK, we're approaching the location of the missing supply
- 33:31crate. It's right up there.
- 33:34The tree may be large, but I noticed the fungi clinging to
- 33:38its trunk. Let's check it out.
- 34:53filthy. Scan it before touching
- 34:56anything, just in case. Why not try it out on those
- 35:26excitingly foul lumps over there?
- 35:30Crack that whip. OK, that's one piece of gear
- 35:38retrieve. I don't have any more useful
- 35:40tools to go. That said, I haven't located
- 35:44more supply crates just yet, so I'll keep scanning the planet
- 35:47and let you know when I do. Remember your new whip.
- 35:52Also double S as a lasso. Give it a twirl.
- 35:56Let's go catch something. I found a creature that's not
- 35:59too threatening. Most far more dangerous.
- 36:14hard. Let's look like something more
- 36:16challenging, shall we? Right this way.
- 37:41Not sure why you want it, but now you have it.
- 39:02No, you can vouch anywhere, anytime.
