- 4:30Speaker 5: Well.
- 4:30Speaker 6: Hello, Hello, Hello, and welcome, Welcome, Welcome to part two.
- 4:36Speaker 5: Yes, this is part two.
- 4:39Speaker 6: We are continuing the conversation from a month ago. We
- 4:44Speaker 6: was here a month ago. Wow, And I am excited.
- 4:48Speaker 6: I'm excited to have these amazing individuals back in the
- 4:52Speaker 6: building tonight. And I know you heard a little bit
- 4:55Speaker 6: about them.
- 4:56Speaker 5: I know I.
- 4:57Speaker 6: Couldn't do them justice, So we're gonna allow them to share.
- 5:02Speaker 5: A little bit about themselves.
- 5:05Speaker 6: So we're gonna start with Tabida, then we're gonna go
- 5:07Speaker 6: to mister John, and then we're gonna go to Mother, Queen,
- 5:12Speaker 6: doctor sha Zerra.
- 5:15Speaker 7: Okay.
- 5:16Speaker 8: Well, as the opening said, I am a mother, a grandmother,
- 5:21Speaker 8: a author, a publisher of Wings of Transformation Publishing. I
- 5:30Speaker 8: help other aspiring authors share their stories with the world.
- 5:34Speaker 8: I am a motivational speaker. I am also a stroke
- 5:40Speaker 8: survivor and a Kari malformation warrior. A lot of people
- 5:44Speaker 8: don't really know what kr malformation is, which is a
- 5:47Speaker 8: serious gelogical condition that affects the brain. But it does
- 5:52Speaker 8: not stop me from doing what God has called me
- 5:54Speaker 8: to do. So that is.
- 6:05Speaker 5: Mister Jell.
- 6:07Speaker 9: Greetings everyone. First, Angel, it's really on a privilege to
- 6:13Speaker 9: be back with you all this this month. Thank you
- 6:16Speaker 9: so much for having me back. I really enjoyed our
- 6:20Speaker 9: first conversation and I have continued thinking about a lot
- 6:25Speaker 9: of what came from it. For those who may not
- 6:29Speaker 9: have been with us on the previous show, my name
- 6:33Speaker 9: is John Harris. I'm also known as Bruti Meuenda Mary Aman,
- 6:39Speaker 9: and I'm an author, the leadership strategist, a speaker, and
- 6:44Speaker 9: the founder of Mastering Your Moments. At the center of
- 6:50Speaker 9: my work is a pretty simple question. You know, what
- 6:56Speaker 9: is influencing the choices we make in the moments that
- 7:00Speaker 9: shape our lives. So I spend a lot of my
- 7:03Speaker 9: time exploring the relationship between conflict, choice, leadership, relationship, and
- 7:09Speaker 9: transformation and increasingly how all of that connects to the
- 7:16Speaker 9: legacy that we're creating while while we're still here. So again,
- 7:20Speaker 9: it's an honor privilege to be here with you all
- 7:23Speaker 9: this evening.
- 7:27Speaker 5: Thank you Doctor Chan.
- 7:30Speaker 10: Greetings everyone, and I'm going to start with a moment
- 7:34Speaker 10: of reflection because today is a really significant day. Well,
- 7:37Speaker 10: actually every day that we're breathing and on this side
- 7:40Speaker 10: of the Earth plan is a fantabulous day. But I
- 7:43Speaker 10: really want to say thank you, Sister Queen Visionary Angela
- 7:47Speaker 10: for just bringing some powerful people together to actually the
- 7:51Speaker 10: reason speak about our views of legacy and being able
- 7:55Speaker 10: to talk about the mind, but the mind in a
- 7:59Speaker 10: very pro active, a family centered, community centered way. I
- 8:05Speaker 10: think that's really profound. You pretty much so covered what
- 8:08Speaker 10: I do, what I engage in, and I think for
- 8:11Speaker 10: the purposes of those that are viewing and listening. Yes,
- 8:16Speaker 10: I'm a mother, a grandmother. Pretty sure you can hear
- 8:19Speaker 10: that in part of the background, the cultural heritage education
- 8:23Speaker 10: portion is part of the daily work and engagements that
- 8:27Speaker 10: I'm involved in. But I'm an artivist, so really into
- 8:30Speaker 10: creative arts. But through a lens of being an activist
- 8:33Speaker 10: in the body of creating the arts that I'm engaged in,
- 8:37Speaker 10: I've been involved in stream not only STEM, but the science, technology,
- 8:43Speaker 10: the reading, the engineering, the arts, and mathematics for more
- 8:48Speaker 10: than forty years, and I've had the joint privilege of
- 8:51Speaker 10: serving as a heritage ambassador in different capacities.
- 8:55Speaker 11: I do a lot of.
- 8:55Speaker 10: Work around spirituality through the lens of culture, arts, technology,
- 9:02Speaker 10: and focusing that on things that promote life. So it's
- 9:06Speaker 10: done through our speaks, which is another part of the
- 9:09Speaker 10: network here with the Crew podcast and being able to
- 9:12Speaker 10: expand on being able to share word sound power that
- 9:16Speaker 10: allows for persons to literally engage and embrace what do
- 9:21Speaker 10: we mean when we say a new legacy or building
- 9:25Speaker 10: legacy and what this legacy mean? Is it temporal? Is
- 9:29Speaker 10: it only physical and tangible, or is it something connected
- 9:32Speaker 10: to spirit that allows for us to really honor the creative,
- 9:37Speaker 10: infinite source by all of the venerated names that we use.
- 9:40Speaker 10: So I'm really grateful to be here and I'm looking
- 9:43Speaker 10: forward to the conversation and how we exchange as we
- 9:46Speaker 10: have in the past.
- 9:49Speaker 6: Yes, yes, yes, what I am glad to have you
- 9:52Speaker 6: guys back. As I stayed it last time, we really
- 9:58Speaker 6: did not dive into all of what I wanted us
- 10:03Speaker 6: to talk about because it is so much.
- 10:07Speaker 5: But I am.
- 10:08Speaker 6: So honored to have you guys, and just the things
- 10:12Speaker 6: that we discussed last time, the different insights, the different
- 10:18Speaker 6: perspectives from each one of us because we come from
- 10:23Speaker 6: different backgrounds and we do different things, but yet we
- 10:29Speaker 6: are able to come together to talk about legacy and
- 10:32Speaker 6: what that means to us. I want to start off
- 10:36Speaker 6: with this question reflecting on where we are in this
- 10:40Speaker 6: season in our life.
- 10:42Speaker 5: So the question is.
- 10:44Speaker 6: When you hear the phrase mind your legacy, what does
- 10:47Speaker 6: it mean to you personally in this season of your life,
- 10:53Speaker 6: this very season that we are in right now.
- 10:57Speaker 5: And some things may have shifted.
- 11:01Speaker 6: From the last conversation that we had because that was
- 11:05Speaker 6: a month ago that we had this conversation. So this
- 11:10Speaker 6: season that you're in now, what does mine your Legacy's
- 11:15Speaker 6: start with doctor Chen, mister Harris and the inta I'm
- 11:24Speaker 6: not gonna say your a K A name because I'm
- 11:27Speaker 6: bad with names.
- 11:32Speaker 9: If you say, if you say brother Baruti.
- 11:35Speaker 6: That's okay. I can say that. I can say brother,
- 11:39Speaker 6: brother Barony. I can say that, right.
- 11:42Speaker 11: Okay.
- 11:43Speaker 5: Well, so we're gonna.
- 11:44Speaker 6: Start with doctor Chen and then brother Baroney and then Trevida.
- 11:50Speaker 10: Okay, we're gonna That's a very powerful question because when
- 11:55Speaker 10: you say, how do we perceive legacy in this season.
- 11:59Speaker 10: This is a season we're moving out of summer, coming
- 12:03Speaker 10: into the autumn season. It's a time of renewal in
- 12:08Speaker 10: many respects, but it's also a time of rest. So
- 12:12Speaker 10: when I think of legacy in the season that I'm
- 12:15Speaker 10: in now, and it's actually on the eve, I have
- 12:19Speaker 10: maybe three more weeks before I get to celebrate another
- 12:22Speaker 10: earth strong, another birthday, and I've given thanks for that,
- 12:26Speaker 10: And so I'm in a space where I celebrate the
- 12:29Speaker 10: month before the day of and the month after intentionally,
- 12:35Speaker 10: and I make sure that I'm doing things that allow
- 12:38Speaker 10: for my family, my spiritual family in addition to my
- 12:46Speaker 10: biological family, because I have a very extended spiritual family
- 12:51Speaker 10: that I fellowship with.
- 12:52Speaker 11: So this is a.
- 12:54Speaker 10: Time where legacy for me becomes again part of that
- 12:58Speaker 10: fusion of how.
- 12:59Speaker 11: We look at.
- 13:01Speaker 10: Things that are cultural, but through the lens of culture
- 13:05Speaker 10: as a spiritual space, culture that supports heritage engagement. The technology,
- 13:15Speaker 10: we talk a lot about AI, but we tend to
- 13:17Speaker 10: focus on artificial intelligence, and we oftentimes overlook what preceded that,
- 13:24Speaker 10: which is ancestral intelligence. And some people like to say
- 13:28Speaker 10: it's a twentieth century concept, but this is something that
- 13:31Speaker 10: is really millennia upon millennia old. So when I hear
- 13:36Speaker 10: and think of where I sit in this season on
- 13:41Speaker 10: how legacy is empowered or expanded in that regard, it's
- 13:45Speaker 10: going to come from a place of me one giving
- 13:48Speaker 10: thanks for where I sit in this earthplane at this
- 13:52Speaker 10: particular point, with a very clear vision of what are
- 13:57Speaker 10: the things that my children will get to be able
- 14:00Speaker 10: to expand on. What are the things that my children's
- 14:03Speaker 10: children can expand on. Who are the in my case,
- 14:07Speaker 10: the students, the clients, my colleagues that I can work
- 14:12Speaker 10: with and influence in a positive way.
- 14:14Speaker 11: And how are we able.
- 14:16Speaker 10: To share our spiritual gifts, share our intellectual gifts, share
- 14:23Speaker 10: our ancestral gifts in this season, moving into the next season,
- 14:28Speaker 10: and hopefully being able to get beyond what people get
- 14:31Speaker 10: twisted about with things that happen astronomically looking at it
- 14:36Speaker 10: only through an astrological space. But I look at seasons
- 14:40Speaker 10: as a time for birth, renewal, growth, rest, all at
- 14:47Speaker 10: the same at the same time, which concentric space and engagement.
- 14:52Speaker 10: So legacy for me becomes more than just my economic
- 14:55Speaker 10: circumstances and condition. It becomes more than the physical space
- 15:01Speaker 10: or geographic space that I reside in and sit. I'm
- 15:05Speaker 10: looking at how do we really help ourselves to be
- 15:10Speaker 10: more expansive and more elevated for our families, our communities,
- 15:17Speaker 10: our societies, humanity and beyond. I think very expansive. I
- 15:23Speaker 10: hope that I covered part of what you asked me. Bo,
- 15:31Speaker 10: Thank you for sharing.
- 15:43Speaker 11: He got really excited.
- 15:47Speaker 9: Well, no, I try to listen intentionally, and you know,
- 15:51Speaker 9: rather than you know, possibly create an interruption, you know,
- 15:55Speaker 9: so I'll mute. But that was that was phenomenal, Queen Mother.
- 15:58Speaker 9: I I I can. I can relate to a whole
- 16:02Speaker 9: lot of what you what you've shared there for me.
- 16:06Speaker 9: You know, in this season of my life, you know,
- 16:11Speaker 9: I perceive legacy less as something I will eventually leave
- 16:17Speaker 9: behind and more as something I'm really truly actively creating
- 16:23Speaker 9: right now.
- 16:24Speaker 5: Uh.
- 16:24Speaker 9: You know, I've reached a point where, you know, I'm
- 16:29Speaker 9: thinking very differently about time, about purpose and about impact.
- 16:36Speaker 9: And I'm asking myself not simply what will people remember
- 16:42Speaker 9: about me? You know, will they so whether they remember
- 16:46Speaker 9: me as John or they remember me as Baruti, you know,
- 16:51Speaker 9: it won't matter. But what am I actually building? What
- 16:54Speaker 9: am I teaching? What am I modeling and placing into
- 16:59Speaker 9: other people that can continue to create value beyond my presence. So,
- 17:06Speaker 9: you know, legacy for me has become very present, tense.
- 17:11Speaker 1: You know.
- 17:11Speaker 9: So it's it's in how I strive to continuously show
- 17:17Speaker 9: up for my family, you know. It's in how I lead,
- 17:20Speaker 9: It's in the ideas I develop, It's in the people
- 17:25Speaker 9: I encourage. It's in the work that I'm building through
- 17:29Speaker 9: mastering your moments, and it's in whether the lessons that
- 17:33Speaker 9: I've gained through my own experiences can become useful to
- 17:39Speaker 9: somebody else. I'm also becoming less concerned, you know, with
- 17:47Speaker 9: whether my name remains attached to everything. You know, I
- 17:52Speaker 9: want the work to matter, you know, I want the
- 17:55Speaker 9: good to continue. There are some things that I do
- 18:00Speaker 9: I don't know, one of which is what will be
- 18:05Speaker 9: my level of consciousness about everything that's going on around
- 18:09Speaker 9: me when I'm no longer here. And so for me,
- 18:17Speaker 9: the work is everything, and I want the good that's
- 18:21Speaker 9: attached to the work to continue. And that's really how
- 18:24Speaker 9: I perceive legacy in the season. Legacy is it's not
- 18:28Speaker 9: simply what I'm going to leave behind someday. It's what
- 18:31Speaker 9: I'm creating right now through the moments that we live,
- 18:36Speaker 9: through the choices that I make, and the impact that
- 18:41Speaker 9: you know, myself and and other great minds like the
- 18:44Speaker 9: ones that are on here today, the impact that we
- 18:46Speaker 9: have on others.
- 18:57Speaker 5: The media.
- 19:00Speaker 8: Well, in this season, for me, I will say that
- 19:04Speaker 8: I have particularly slowed down and started to appreciate all
- 19:13Speaker 8: that I have achieved in this short forty seven years
- 19:22Speaker 8: that I've been here, and I've been embracing all of that,
- 19:29Speaker 8: and I've been receiving.
- 19:33Speaker 7: What my children.
- 19:35Speaker 8: Have been celebrating that they've received from me.
- 19:42Speaker 7: And my oldest son.
- 19:44Speaker 8: Is about to extend his legacy in getting married in
- 19:52Speaker 8: a couple months, and so it's a beautiful thing and
- 19:58Speaker 8: I'm excited.
- 19:59Speaker 7: For for him.
- 20:01Speaker 8: And that conversation has been a beautiful thing because we're
- 20:08Speaker 8: talking about the things that you know, I didn't think.
- 20:13Speaker 8: You know, you don't think your children are listening to
- 20:15Speaker 8: the things that you say to them when they're young
- 20:18Speaker 8: they're teenagers and things of that nature. But he's twenty
- 20:24Speaker 8: seven now and it's like, well, Mom, you told me this,
- 20:27Speaker 8: and I'm applying it now. And so it's been a
- 20:32Speaker 8: beautiful thing to be now on the receiving end of that.
- 20:36Speaker 8: And so I'm receiving in this season of my legacy
- 20:42Speaker 8: now and being appreciative of that where I can now
- 20:46Speaker 8: actually slow down and receive it, Whereas before it was
- 20:51Speaker 8: always on the go, never having time to just sit
- 20:56Speaker 8: and receive and celebrate. So now I'm sitting receiving and
- 21:04Speaker 8: accepting that it's okay to actually celebrate the achievements of
- 21:11Speaker 8: the things that I've accomplished.
- 21:14Speaker 7: And it's a great feeling, but also it's a new feeling.
- 21:22Speaker 8: And I'm just learning how to embrace the legacy that
- 21:26Speaker 8: I've already created and watching my children be receiving and
- 21:34Speaker 8: also acknowledging the accomplishments that I've begun leaving for them.
- 21:41Speaker 8: So that's where I'm at in this season of my
- 21:44Speaker 8: legacy right now.
- 21:47Speaker 5: Wow, y'all dropping some powerful y'all dropping some powerful information tonight.
- 21:54Speaker 6: So how do you protect your mind, vision, and assignment
- 22:04Speaker 6: when distractions, doubt, or discouragement show up? And I want
- 22:12Speaker 6: to start with Brother Barony.
- 22:17Speaker 9: Yeah, that's that's a that's a that's a great question,
- 22:24Speaker 9: you know it really it's and it's day by day,
- 22:28Speaker 9: right because the one thing that I am convinced of
- 22:34Speaker 9: now more than ever is how chaotic life is. And
- 22:41Speaker 9: yes there's order, yes there's balance, but yes there is chaos.
- 22:49Speaker 9: And that chaos can you know, swing from one end
- 22:54Speaker 9: of the spectrum to the other. For me, what's become
- 22:58Speaker 9: really important is two. Take something from what sister Trevida
- 23:07Speaker 9: mentioned is that you know, I have to I purposely
- 23:11Speaker 9: slow down, and I have purposely slowed down because you know,
- 23:19Speaker 9: when you feel a sense of true passion and commitment
- 23:26Speaker 9: to something, it is very easy to get, you know,
- 23:33Speaker 9: to get ahead of the cart or ahead of the horse,
- 23:36Speaker 9: if you will, and in those moments it can be
- 23:41Speaker 9: very easily to become distracted. And so I've had to
- 23:46Speaker 9: slow down, you know, as as I age. You know,
- 23:50Speaker 9: I balance also health related issues. I balance family issues,
- 23:55Speaker 9: I balanced financial issues. You know, I balance just the travail,
- 24:04Speaker 9: the travailing of life itself. And so for me it
- 24:09Speaker 9: becomes it starts with just really being able to even
- 24:13Speaker 9: in some cases stop and you know, acknowledge my own
- 24:21Speaker 9: weakness or inability in certain moments to respond to certain situations.
- 24:29Speaker 9: You know, I am a man that uses two hands
- 24:31Speaker 9: to put on his pants because like everybody else, irrespective
- 24:35Speaker 9: of what my passion and my commitment is. And so
- 24:40Speaker 9: I have to make a very very deliberate effort to
- 24:45Speaker 9: protect my mind and not allow myself to become distracted
- 24:52Speaker 9: or discouraged or sidetracked because there is so much that
- 24:59Speaker 9: is actually happening. So it's a great question, and it
- 25:06Speaker 9: really just you know, I try to spend a certain
- 25:08Speaker 9: amount of.
- 25:11Speaker 5: M uhh, I think he may have frow him up.
- 25:24Speaker 7: Yeah, here we go in my back. Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 25:30Speaker 9: So I use a combination of silence and you know, uh,
- 25:36Speaker 9: just just real quiet time to prepare myself but then
- 25:42Speaker 9: also remain open to what this chaotic life can bring
- 25:46Speaker 9: at anytime.
- 25:50Speaker 8: Man Tarita, Well, what I do to keep myself protected
- 26:00Speaker 8: is number one I say in prayer. I communicate with
- 26:05Speaker 8: God on a regular basis. I make sure that I limit.
- 26:13Speaker 7: Myself on.
- 26:16Speaker 8: Being distracted through social media because I limit the foolishness.
- 26:24Speaker 7: I don't entertain the drama.
- 26:28Speaker 8: Like it's just certain things that I really do not
- 26:32Speaker 8: participate in. If you're calling me to gossip or do
- 26:36Speaker 8: any of that stuff, I'm quickly going to end the
- 26:40Speaker 8: conversation because that's not for me. And so oftentimes when
- 26:47Speaker 8: I'm like, well, did you hear about such as it?
- 26:49Speaker 8: Absolutely not, I didn't because it wasn't intended for me
- 26:54Speaker 8: to hear.
- 26:55Speaker 7: Because I've said this a few years ago.
- 26:58Speaker 8: If God didn't put it on my calendar, it's not
- 27:02Speaker 8: my business. So if it's not God didn't put it
- 27:07Speaker 8: on there, it's not for me to know. So that
- 27:10Speaker 8: has kept me focused on where I'm supposed to be going,
- 27:15Speaker 8: what I'm supposed to be doing. So if it's not
- 27:19Speaker 8: aligned with what God has told me to do, I
- 27:24Speaker 8: ain't my business.
- 27:26Speaker 10: So that is what.
- 27:28Speaker 8: Keeps me aligned, focused and determined to stay in the
- 27:34Speaker 8: business that God has a sign for me and stay
- 27:37Speaker 8: out of where I'm not supposed to be. So that's
- 27:41Speaker 8: just how I stay protected and aligned with the purpose
- 27:45Speaker 8: that I'm supposed to be doing in this season.
- 27:56Speaker 5: Doctor Chen.
- 28:00Speaker 11: May have to ask you to repeat the question I heard.
- 28:06Speaker 5: So the question was.
- 28:09Speaker 6: How do you protect your mind vision in assignment when distractions, doubt,
- 28:15Speaker 6: or discouragement show up?
- 28:17Speaker 3: Mm hmm.
- 28:19Speaker 10: I think I just needed a moment to reflect on
- 28:21Speaker 10: what I just heard. It's just a reader, I said, pause. No,
- 28:30Speaker 10: you know how you prepare a response and you ready
- 28:33Speaker 10: and then people speak and you're like, Okay, Clauda, I
- 28:39Speaker 10: have to say it comes from a space of staying
- 28:44Speaker 10: in that realm of perpetual prayer, meditation, personal reflection, and
- 28:55Speaker 10: a spiritual grounding. So one of the first things I
- 28:59Speaker 10: tend to do, and I do it frequently, is yes,
- 29:03Speaker 10: I pray, but I don't just pray in English, because
- 29:07Speaker 10: sometimes it's in other languages and through more ancestral scriptural
- 29:12Speaker 10: texts in those original languages or more original languages that
- 29:17Speaker 10: I can at least speak to and know what I'm saying,
- 29:22Speaker 10: that it gives me the rhythm. Sometimes I sing, and
- 29:29Speaker 10: I will sing prayers in a way that helps me
- 29:33Speaker 10: to remember that I need to be balanced, that I
- 29:37Speaker 10: need to restore harmony in my body, mind, soul, spirit
- 29:41Speaker 10: and consciousness like all the time, and I do my
- 29:45Speaker 10: best not to just stick in my brain, matter mind,
- 29:49Speaker 10: but go into my spiritual soul self mind, so when
- 29:53Speaker 10: distractions do come up, that I'm not just being reactive,
- 29:58Speaker 10: that I can actually hmm, reflect, do I need to
- 30:04Speaker 10: respond If I don't need to respond, even better and
- 30:08Speaker 10: keep it moving so that I can stay in a regenerative,
- 30:12Speaker 10: transformative self healings. What is the word they like to
- 30:17Speaker 10: use now self care and everybody likes to talk about
- 30:20Speaker 10: self care. Self care is a really nice twenty first
- 30:24Speaker 10: century phrase for what our parents, grandparents encourage us to
- 30:30Speaker 10: do a long time ago. Don't go to rest with
- 30:32Speaker 10: anger on your head. If you have a difference with somebody,
- 30:36Speaker 10: clear it up before you go into the rest state,
- 30:38Speaker 10: because you don't know if you're going to wake up.
- 30:41Speaker 10: Before you go to rest, say those words of praise,
- 30:45Speaker 10: words of thanks for you being present and being able
- 30:48Speaker 10: to rest, hopefully in a clean bed with running walter
- 30:52Speaker 10: and utilities to keep you with a certain amount of comfort.
- 30:56Speaker 10: And even if you don't have those things, still give
- 30:58Speaker 10: thanks for life. So for me, and maybe because of
- 31:03Speaker 10: just you know, some of that upbringing, you know, being
- 31:06Speaker 10: around parents that one lived real long one didn't, but
- 31:13Speaker 10: the spiritual energy of how they raised my brothers and
- 31:17Speaker 10: I really grounded that kind of vibration and spirit inside
- 31:22Speaker 10: of my soul space. And not just because of being
- 31:27Speaker 10: an ordained minister. Is it that you know we got
- 31:30Speaker 10: it on lock. No, it means that we have to
- 31:34Speaker 10: even be more responsible and more accountable because we're not
- 31:38Speaker 10: just focusing on self, but we've been granted the privilege
- 31:44Speaker 10: to be able to serve others and to keep them
- 31:47Speaker 10: in that same space and light of honoring infinite source.
- 31:52Speaker 10: So for some they'll say God, they'll say Jehovah, they'll
- 31:55Speaker 10: say Yahweh, some say oludu mades, some say Nata. We've
- 31:59Speaker 10: got some names, and if we were to just hone
- 32:04Speaker 10: in a little bit tighter collectively, I sensed it what
- 32:09Speaker 10: I'm doing to stay balanced, because people tend to ask
- 32:12Speaker 10: me that frequently because it's a lot of chaos. You know,
- 32:15Speaker 10: I really appreciate what brother Baruti shared because just like
- 32:18Speaker 10: we speak of harmony and balance and all of that,
- 32:21Speaker 10: there's an opposite. Like the term I use is my aunt,
- 32:24Speaker 10: it's what is part of the system that I practice.
- 32:27Speaker 10: And my aunt is truth, just disorder, reciprocity, balance, divine, righteousness,
- 32:32Speaker 10: and harmony. It says all of that and four let
- 32:34Speaker 10: to us and technically two without vowels.
- 32:38Speaker 11: Right.
- 32:39Speaker 10: But the opposite of that principle is what keeps me
- 32:42Speaker 10: from taking on those distractions, because those distractions there's a
- 32:46Speaker 10: term for them too. It's fed, and it's chaos, it's disorder,
- 32:52Speaker 10: it's in balance, it's lack of righteousness. Right, So I
- 32:56Speaker 10: do my best to say in the morning what I
- 33:00Speaker 10: will do and when I before I go to rest,
- 33:04Speaker 10: what I have not done right so for and there's
- 33:07Speaker 10: there's ways of prayers.
- 33:08Speaker 11: Some people use the tank commandments.
- 33:10Speaker 10: Some people get really engaged in do the two hundred
- 33:12Speaker 10: and fifty six though dues. Some people remember the six
- 33:15Speaker 10: hundred and forty mosaic laws.
- 33:16Speaker 11: I think that's powerful.
- 33:18Speaker 10: I can handle the forty two laws of my Od
- 33:20Speaker 10: or admonitions of my Od, so we can speak of
- 33:22Speaker 10: what I will not do in the morning and do
- 33:25Speaker 10: our best to live in out of coord so I
- 33:28Speaker 10: don't get twisted by distractions. I don't get overwhelmed by
- 33:35Speaker 10: transitions that are not my charge.
- 33:38Speaker 11: I love how Sister Queen atributed.
- 33:41Speaker 10: If it's not on my if God did not put
- 33:44Speaker 10: it on my count, I'm going to use that one.
- 33:47Speaker 10: I'm gonna use that just trust to believe you will
- 33:50Speaker 10: be quoted, because that's a powerful place to kind of land.
- 33:54Speaker 10: My response for that question, Sister Queen Visionary Angela that
- 34:00Speaker 10: I do my best to stay in my odd first
- 34:04Speaker 10: and minimize conflict by minimizing contact, which is something I
- 34:08Speaker 10: learned from an elder Nelly Fuller A long time ago.
- 34:15Speaker 5: Wow, well y'all all have dropped some amazing nuggas and
- 34:20Speaker 5: just hearing your perspective.
- 34:22Speaker 6: So the next question is what is one lesson you
- 34:28Speaker 6: have learned the hard way that you now use to
- 34:33Speaker 6: help teach or encourage others.
- 34:37Speaker 5: And I want to start with Trevida.
- 34:42Speaker 8: One lesson that I learned the hard way is not
- 34:52Speaker 8: speaking up for myself immediately when I knew what was
- 35:02Speaker 8: the right thing in the moment. By certain situations that
- 35:11Speaker 8: have like okay, I'll say it this way, when I
- 35:15Speaker 8: knew I was right, but because of elder sometimes, you know,
- 35:22Speaker 8: they would always say, well, I'm the elder, do as
- 35:26Speaker 8: I say.
- 35:27Speaker 7: And I knew that they were wrong and.
- 35:34Speaker 8: They were wrong, and I had to learn that just
- 35:39Speaker 8: because you're the elder did not make you right. And
- 35:43Speaker 8: so I learned that lesson the hard way. And so
- 35:48Speaker 8: when I had my children, that was a lesson that
- 35:53Speaker 8: I had to actually break within myself so that when
- 35:59Speaker 8: I had my children, they were able to come to
- 36:02Speaker 8: me when I said or I did something that hurt them.
- 36:09Speaker 8: So they were able to come and say, hey, Mom,
- 36:12Speaker 8: what you said, what you did hurt me? And we
- 36:16Speaker 8: were able to fix those things and not have those
- 36:23Speaker 8: conflicts to where they were freely to discuss what was
- 36:31Speaker 8: hurting them and we were able to build from that.
- 36:35Speaker 7: And that was a hard lesson to learn.
- 36:37Speaker 8: Because growing up it was always I'm the adult, you're
- 36:43Speaker 8: the child. You can't tell me that I've done or
- 36:46Speaker 8: I said something that was wrong to you.
- 36:51Speaker 7: But it was a hard lesson to learn then.
- 36:55Speaker 8: But as I got older and I had my children,
- 36:58Speaker 8: it was a generational curse that I broke in my
- 37:02Speaker 8: home for my children to where it was if it
- 37:07Speaker 8: hurts you, tell me so that I can fix it,
- 37:11Speaker 8: because I don't want you growing up thinking that you
- 37:15Speaker 8: don't have a right to tell me that I've said
- 37:18Speaker 8: or I've done something that hurt you and we can't
- 37:21Speaker 8: fix it. And so now on the other end of that,
- 37:26Speaker 8: my children will tell me everything, and I had to
- 37:32Speaker 8: be like, okay, listen, there's some boundaries here.
- 37:35Speaker 7: I don't want to know.
- 37:36Speaker 8: Everything, like the save some stuff for yourself, you know.
- 37:43Speaker 8: But I love the relationship that I have with my children,
- 37:49Speaker 8: and I was able to apologize to my children, you know,
- 37:53Speaker 8: when I was wrong, and that has created a closeness
- 37:57Speaker 8: that I have with my children and I'm grateful for that,
- 38:00Speaker 8: and that has been one of the hardest lessons that
- 38:02Speaker 8: I had to learn. But I'm grateful that I learned
- 38:05Speaker 8: it and I was able to break it and my
- 38:09Speaker 8: children are free to talk to me about any and everything.
- 38:13Speaker 10: But like I.
- 38:13Speaker 8: Said, that was a good and a bad city because
- 38:17Speaker 8: my children have been able to tell me things that
- 38:20Speaker 8: I wish they did not tell me.
- 38:22Speaker 7: But I am.
- 38:24Speaker 8: Grateful for the hardness of that lesson that I learned,
- 38:28Speaker 8: but I wish I had learned it a lot sooner
- 38:31Speaker 8: than I did.
- 38:34Speaker 5: Well. That that's that's powerful because.
- 38:39Speaker 6: Being able to learn from your mistakes and being able
- 38:45Speaker 6: to teach somebody else, you're able to pour that into
- 38:49Speaker 6: your kids and they'll be able to do the same
- 38:54Speaker 6: for their kids. So that that is the things that
- 38:58Speaker 6: we do on a daily basis that will create legacy
- 39:03Speaker 6: because that'll be something that will be passed down to
- 39:06Speaker 6: your kids that they will be able to your kids
- 39:09Speaker 6: kids and generations to come.
- 39:12Speaker 5: Communication.
- 39:14Speaker 6: And we know that that's one of the things that
- 39:17Speaker 6: sometimes lack in in in our culture, in our communities. Communications,
- 39:24Speaker 6: So that that is great. That that that was a
- 39:27Speaker 6: great one, doctor Chen, And.
- 39:32Speaker 10: You know, I really want you to repeat the question,
- 39:34Speaker 10: but I did. I did hear what you said. I
- 39:38Speaker 10: know to be to be, I can tell that this
- 39:42Speaker 10: could be an easy six hour panel discussion on a
- 39:46Speaker 10: variety of things. So we're just giving like the tidbit,
- 39:49Speaker 10: bite sized version. One of the lessons that was a hard.
- 39:55Speaker 11: Lesson for me.
- 39:59Speaker 10: Was recognized I spent a lot of time in different
- 40:02Speaker 10: parts of the world and I had to really learn.
- 40:08Speaker 5: Not to.
- 40:10Speaker 10: Not to bring like my expectations of how community society
- 40:17Speaker 10: operates into other spaces.
- 40:23Speaker 11: I'll give a case in point.
- 40:25Speaker 10: At one point, I was doing some work graduate work,
- 40:28Speaker 10: and I was living in what was becoming Burkina Fasso
- 40:33Speaker 10: at a time where it was still upper Volta in
- 40:35Speaker 10: West Africa. And it's not that I thought that I
- 40:40Speaker 10: had so much to offer, because again, you know, I
- 40:43Speaker 10: was still pretty young. I was in my twenties, and
- 40:46Speaker 10: I thought at the time that by my example and
- 40:52Speaker 10: my earnest engagement and wanting to help people and contribute
- 40:56Speaker 10: to the community and be able to work with their
- 40:59Speaker 10: children and work with their women, I was doing a
- 41:01Speaker 10: lot of work around health and midwifery and education, and
- 41:06Speaker 10: I thought that if I had that kind of thrust
- 41:09Speaker 10: and didn't have a lot of money, but I thought
- 41:12Speaker 10: I had enough resource that I could come and transform things.
- 41:16Speaker 10: Forgetting that you need to meet people where they are.
- 41:22Speaker 10: You need to leave your in this case Western mindset
- 41:28Speaker 10: in the West and observe, reflect, honor what of the
- 41:34Speaker 10: strengths in that space, learn some of the weaknesses, and
- 41:38Speaker 10: then blend them or layer them over what you think
- 41:43Speaker 10: is really important because it's important to In my case,
- 41:47Speaker 10: I thought it was so important to me, it had
- 41:49Speaker 10: to be important to them. And it was a very
- 41:53Speaker 10: rough lesson because not only did the country go through
- 41:57Speaker 10: a major transfer in the years that I worked there
- 42:02Speaker 10: and studied there, but it also led to me really
- 42:10Speaker 10: learning how to know space and place while respecting where
- 42:18Speaker 10: people sit. That they may be in a place of
- 42:21Speaker 10: elevation that I haven't reached and I need to honor that.
- 42:26Speaker 10: And then I need to be able to know that
- 42:28Speaker 10: I may have a lot of gifts to offer, but
- 42:30Speaker 10: they're just not prepared or ready for that, and to
- 42:33Speaker 10: not take it like I need to get angry or
- 42:36Speaker 10: I need to come out of my space or shun
- 42:40Speaker 10: people or feel what is what The term we use
- 42:43Speaker 10: in the Caribbean is toit toiti right like that you
- 42:45Speaker 10: think you're better than people, right because you come from
- 42:49Speaker 10: wherever you come from, and you maybe you have a
- 42:51Speaker 10: little extra And that's something that I've learned to teach
- 42:55Speaker 10: other persons that are doing that kind of travel, and
- 43:00Speaker 10: especially if they're speaking of repatriating to another country, you know,
- 43:05Speaker 10: especially those coming out of the forty eight contiguous US,
- 43:08Speaker 10: because the forty eight contiguous US has a way of
- 43:12Speaker 10: it's so seemingly solid, even though people think it's in
- 43:15Speaker 10: chaos now sort of in a way, but it's still
- 43:19Speaker 10: you know, people have running water, they have electricity most
- 43:23Speaker 10: of the time, they have access to food most of
- 43:27Speaker 10: the time. But I'm talking about being able to teach
- 43:31Speaker 10: persons that are making these international travels and saying that
- 43:34Speaker 10: they want to go and give back and be humanitarians,
- 43:38Speaker 10: to do it from a place of not being paternalistic
- 43:41Speaker 10: or to think because the creators blessed you with certain gifts, talents,
- 43:47Speaker 10: and expertise, that you're above the people that you're serving,
- 43:50Speaker 10: or that you feel that you have to put a
- 43:53Speaker 10: live stream on every gift that you give to the
- 43:55Speaker 10: child that's needing food. It might be that you just
- 43:59Speaker 10: need to just sit with that mother that is just
- 44:02Speaker 10: buried an infant child. It may be that you may
- 44:06Speaker 10: need to speak to some of the brothers in the
- 44:08Speaker 10: community that may not always understand your language fully, but
- 44:13Speaker 10: they can feel that you care and have empathy for
- 44:16Speaker 10: what they're experiencing. So for me, I took that hard
- 44:21Speaker 10: lesson of not understanding how to be more sharing of
- 44:25Speaker 10: a form of empathy and innerstanding, to then shifting that
- 44:30Speaker 10: and turning it around. I mean, I have had many
- 44:32Speaker 10: years to practice though, so I'm not encouraging that persons
- 44:36Speaker 10: can just up and do that instantly, but it's good
- 44:39Speaker 10: to know how to compartmentalize what is your weakness and
- 44:45Speaker 10: being able to use your strength. I'm going to sound
- 44:48Speaker 10: like an educator now, to ameliorate your weakness and do
- 44:51Speaker 10: the same thing when you're sharing and giving to others,
- 44:54Speaker 10: so that people can really receive what you're offering and
- 44:57Speaker 10: what you're giving, so that they know it's from a
- 44:59Speaker 10: place authentic, sacred intention, authentic compassionate care versus I just
- 45:08Speaker 10: think you should do this because it's important to me.
- 45:10Speaker 10: It worked for me, and I know because that's not
- 45:13Speaker 10: how the world of humanity flows, and especially if you
- 45:18Speaker 10: are moving as a child, even if you're an adult,
- 45:23Speaker 10: but a child creative, infinite source.
- 45:28Speaker 5: Right right. That that that that was some good knowledge.
- 45:32Speaker 6: We definitely need to know how to operate in empathy
- 45:37Speaker 6: and compassion when we're dealing with other people. So that
- 45:42Speaker 6: that's that was good. That was good, doctor chan brother Barone.
- 45:47Speaker 9: So yeah, so, man, I mean, sometimes I really hate
- 45:54Speaker 9: going last because what I hear your those responses, it
- 45:57Speaker 9: just takes me. But the thing, I mean, even even
- 46:02Speaker 9: in leading into that response, as I'm sitting here thinking
- 46:05Speaker 9: about one lesson I've learned the hard way. Right, learning
- 46:11Speaker 9: is continuous, especially in the work that we do, the
- 46:16Speaker 9: work that we're committed to.
- 46:18Speaker 11: And so.
- 46:21Speaker 9: I almost think to myself that I set myself up
- 46:27Speaker 9: by saying that I've learned this lesson, because there are
- 46:32Speaker 9: things that I've learned and I think I've learned it,
- 46:36Speaker 9: and then I discover now you really didn't know, because
- 46:40Speaker 9: something else will happen, and then you realize, oh wow,
- 46:43Speaker 9: I thought I had arrived at a place of understanding
- 46:47Speaker 9: of that. So one of the things that I really
- 46:49Speaker 9: appreciate about the question is that, in addition to it
- 46:53Speaker 9: provoking the thought, it also provokes the challenge to stay
- 46:58Speaker 9: in that space of learning. But one lesson that I've
- 47:03Speaker 9: learned the hard way, and I'll say, you know again
- 47:06Speaker 9: I'm still learning, is that I cannot control everything that
- 47:10Speaker 9: happens around me, but I am still responsible for what
- 47:15Speaker 9: I do with the moment I'm given. So there have
- 47:20Speaker 9: been times in my life when I've spent too much
- 47:23Speaker 9: of my energy really focused on what somebody else did
- 47:28Speaker 9: you know, or what should have happened, maybe what wasn't fair,
- 47:32Speaker 9: or what I wished that I could have changed. And
- 47:37Speaker 9: some of those things were absolutely real. I mean, and
- 47:44Speaker 9: as as Queen Mother mentioned, you know, we could we
- 47:47Speaker 9: could really go off and start thinking about things that
- 47:50Speaker 9: have happened in our lives and how they bring us
- 47:52Speaker 9: to here today. But anyway, but eventually I had to
- 47:56Speaker 9: learn that I could be completely right about what happened
- 48:00Speaker 9: to me and still remain stuck because I was waiting
- 48:04Speaker 9: for something outside of me to change. That's something that
- 48:11Speaker 9: I really strive to use when I am working with
- 48:16Speaker 9: other people today. I don't tell people that everything is
- 48:20Speaker 9: their fault because it isn't. And I don't tell them
- 48:24Speaker 9: they can control everything because they can't. And what I
- 48:29Speaker 9: try to help them identify is where is your choice now?
- 48:35Speaker 9: Because sometimes the most empowering thing we can discover in
- 48:41Speaker 9: a difficult situation is the part that still belongs to us.
- 48:46Speaker 8: Right.
- 48:47Speaker 9: I may not have chosen what happened to me, but
- 48:50Speaker 9: I can become more intentional about what happens through me next.
- 48:56Speaker 9: And I'll stop right now.
- 49:00Speaker 5: Now. That is powerful. That is powerful.
- 49:04Speaker 12: Now.
- 49:05Speaker 6: Our time is winding down. Our time is winding down.
- 49:09Speaker 6: But I have one more question. And with this last question,
- 49:15Speaker 6: I want you guys to share with the listeners how
- 49:19Speaker 6: they can follow you, how they can support you, how
- 49:22Speaker 6: they can stay connected with you as.
- 49:25Speaker 5: You share your answer to this final question.
- 49:30Speaker 6: And the final question is, if your legacy could speak
- 49:36Speaker 6: for you fifty years from now, what would you want
- 49:41Speaker 6: it to say about who you were, what you stood.
- 49:46Speaker 5: For, and how you serve others.
- 49:52Speaker 6: I'll repeat it, If your legacy could speak for you
- 49:56Speaker 6: fifty years from now, what would you want it to
- 50:01Speaker 6: say about who you were, what you stood for, and
- 50:06Speaker 6: how you serve others? And I want to start with
- 50:10Speaker 6: doctor Chen. Then we're going to go to Brother Rooney,
- 50:15Speaker 6: and then we're going to close out with Trivida.
- 50:23Speaker 11: I would be.
- 50:24Speaker 10: Very mindful that fifty years from now, the authenticity of
- 50:36Speaker 10: my intentional work, the harmony that I exemplified and exuded
- 50:45Speaker 10: in all of the things that I've been involved in,
- 50:47Speaker 10: whether it's as an educator, as a healer, as a
- 50:54Speaker 10: ordained minister, as an artivist, as a technologist, as a communicator,
- 51:01Speaker 10: as a mother, as a grandmother. Prayerfully I'll become a
- 51:05Speaker 10: great grandmother and enjoy that too, And that persons would
- 51:11Speaker 10: know that the intention was always to create a better
- 51:14Speaker 10: earth and community, to ensure that high standards of excellence
- 51:24Speaker 10: in all facets of the building blocks of society were
- 51:28Speaker 10: at the core of the work that I contributed. That
- 51:32Speaker 10: whether my work with in the Caribbean Pan African Network,
- 51:37Speaker 10: the Universal Negro Improvement Association, African Communities League RC twenty
- 51:43Speaker 10: twenty in particular, whether the work that I do within Parankh,
- 51:48Speaker 10: within our speaks, with partnerships that are regional, global, international,
- 51:55Speaker 10: that persons would remember that it was always about biluilding
- 52:00Speaker 10: a new legacy and creating a legacy that was sustainable,
- 52:07Speaker 10: That it was something that benefited our children, our elders,
- 52:13Speaker 10: persons in need, persons that didn't have need, those with wealth,
- 52:19Speaker 10: those that are moving through impoverishment. I'm praying at fifty
- 52:24Speaker 10: years from now that even that term poverty is transformed
- 52:30Speaker 10: by some of the work that I do, that persons
- 52:34Speaker 10: can have safe births and deliveries without it becoming a
- 52:39Speaker 10: disease centered experience. That persons would remember she built this institution,
- 52:47Speaker 10: she worked with this institution, She collectively and collaboratively financed
- 52:53Speaker 10: the development of this economic engagement. She was able to
- 52:56Speaker 10: help this particular nation village unity we like to say tribes,
- 53:01Speaker 10: but more correctly ethnic villages, right, and that persons would
- 53:07Speaker 10: recognize it. Part of my work has always been about life, inspiration,
- 53:16Speaker 10: freedom and education, and that persons would really recognize that
- 53:20Speaker 10: I too am a daughter of the infinite creative source,
- 53:25Speaker 10: and irrespective of which book I use or which scriptural
- 53:29Speaker 10: texts I read from, whether it's in English or not,
- 53:33Speaker 10: that it's all about understanding and honoring that. We should
- 53:38Speaker 10: be about honoring the Creator and living it every single
- 53:44Speaker 10: day with a destiny driven space that just lets people
- 53:49Speaker 10: when they say and reference me, that it's going to
- 53:52Speaker 10: be in a positive way that my character, my reputation,
- 53:57Speaker 10: my livity is seen in that space in alignment with
- 54:02Speaker 10: that which is divine and righteous. And even when persons
- 54:07Speaker 10: reflect on that temper that I can have, that they
- 54:11Speaker 10: recognize that I'm still human and that I'm always in
- 54:15Speaker 10: a place of improvement because perfection isn't real. Improvement is authentic.
- 54:22Speaker 10: So it would be a place of yeah, fifty years
- 54:25Speaker 10: from now, I would love that, And of course my
- 54:27Speaker 10: art collection, because my art collection definitely will outlive me,
- 54:33Speaker 10: so I would like for persons to make sure that
- 54:35Speaker 10: I'm saying it publicly so the persons remember things like
- 54:38Speaker 10: that my art collection, I'm abilitiophile, So my collection of
- 54:43Speaker 10: literature and books, I think that yeah, fifty years from
- 54:46Speaker 10: now should be in that frame. And I before I close, though,
- 54:51Speaker 10: I just need to make sure that I recognize today's
- 54:54Speaker 10: as I started really special. Sometimes we don't refer to
- 55:01Speaker 10: days like the Universal African Flag Day August thirteenth. People
- 55:07Speaker 10: forget people like Marcus Garve me. But today is that anniversary,
- 55:12Speaker 10: and I think it's powerful that we're having these types
- 55:14Speaker 10: of conversations amongst our circle, in this sphere, in this realm.
- 55:20Speaker 10: So when people see a red, black and green flag,
- 55:22Speaker 10: I don't want them to forget. That's also connected to
- 55:25Speaker 10: how we deal with legacy. That's also how we begin.
- 55:29Speaker 10: We're talking about something that was formulated from back in
- 55:31Speaker 10: the nineteen twenties and even before that, originally in nineteen fourteen,
- 55:36Speaker 10: and it still exists. So fifty years from now, I
- 55:40Speaker 10: would like for the things that I've been a part
- 55:42Speaker 10: of and engage in to still exist and be remembered
- 55:47Speaker 10: and remembered respectfully, mister Barrow.
- 55:57Speaker 9: So fifty years from now, okay, there's going to be
- 56:08Speaker 9: there are so many things to remember about me. Unfortunately,
- 56:18Speaker 9: all of them won't be connected to the work that
- 56:23Speaker 9: I've done, because this represents a part of who I am,
- 56:28Speaker 9: and it also represents a specific period of time. So
- 56:38Speaker 9: fifty years from now, I don't necessarily need people, as
- 56:41Speaker 9: I mentioned earlier, to remember everything I accomplished or even
- 56:46Speaker 9: remember my name. I would hope my legacy says that
- 56:53Speaker 9: I use the time I was given to help people
- 56:56Speaker 9: recognize that they had great greater capacity, greater agency, and
- 57:04Speaker 9: more possibility than they even sometimes believed themselves. I hope
- 57:13Speaker 9: it says that I loved my family well, that I
- 57:18Speaker 9: served people, that I developed leaders, and that I left
- 57:24Speaker 9: behind ideas and tools that continue helping people make more
- 57:31Speaker 9: intentional choices long after I was no longer here to
- 57:35Speaker 9: teach them myself. You know, if something I wrote, something
- 57:40Speaker 9: I taught, or something I placed into another person is
- 57:44Speaker 9: still creating good fifty years from now. That's enough for me.
- 57:53Speaker 9: I don't need my name attached to everything. I want
- 57:58Speaker 9: the good to continue. In terms of you know me,
- 58:05Speaker 9: Barutimanda Mariaman, Mastering your moments the easiest place to communicate
- 58:12Speaker 9: with me. I mean I am on Facebook social media,
- 58:14Speaker 9: but it's through my website, which is Moments to Master

- 59:02Speaker 6: share how individuals can connect with you?
- 59:05Speaker 10: I don't think you did because I was focusing on
- 59:08Speaker 10: answering the question. But I shall us speaks A S. T. S.

- 59:36Speaker 10: I encourage persons to look at a st Speaks and
- 59:39Speaker 10: that way you can connect to all the other networks
- 59:42Speaker 10: for whether it's to do motivational speaking, a variety of
- 59:47Speaker 10: services again that are about culture, healing, arts, technology and
- 59:51Speaker 10: spirituality that promote life.
- 59:53Speaker 11: Thank you for that. Just a queen?
- 59:56Speaker 5: All right, commeda. Do you need me to repeat the question?
- 1:00:02Speaker 7: No? No. What I hope people will remember me for is
- 1:00:09Speaker 7: number one?
- 1:00:10Speaker 8: Is that even though I only stand four feet eight
- 1:00:15Speaker 8: inches tall, Is that even though she's small in spirit,
- 1:00:19Speaker 8: she in hight, she's just ten feet tall in spirit.
- 1:00:24Speaker 8: Because her small statue big spirit. She was never let
- 1:00:30Speaker 8: anything stop her. She let life take her by the horns.
- 1:00:35Speaker 8: And even though she was determined to be big because
- 1:00:44Speaker 8: God said, you may be small, but you are mighty.
- 1:00:50Speaker 8: And this stroke did not stop you, Kiari, did not
- 1:00:54Speaker 8: stop you anything that you set your mind to.
- 1:00:58Speaker 7: You will accomplish.
- 1:01:00Speaker 8: Anybody that you encounter, you will pour into and that
- 1:01:05Speaker 8: will be your legacy because you have never let anybody
- 1:01:10Speaker 8: who comes into your space. You have never let them
- 1:01:13Speaker 8: think small of themselves because you don't even think small
- 1:01:17Speaker 8: of yourself. You are bigger than your small statue. And
- 1:01:22Speaker 8: so since you are bigger than your small snatue, everyone
- 1:01:26Speaker 8: else around you is bigger too. And so that is
- 1:01:31Speaker 8: what I leave fifty years from now, because that's what
- 1:01:35Speaker 8: God said. And so you can find me at Wings
- 1:01:41Speaker 8: of Transformation Publishing. You can also find me at Trevida
- 1:01:46Speaker 8: Harris on Facebook Trevida Harris at Wings of Transformation Publishing.
- 1:01:54Speaker 8: It's the same thing on all of them, Trevida Harris,
- 1:01:58Speaker 8: Wings of Transformation TikTok. It's just the same. You're not
- 1:02:04Speaker 8: gonna mess that up. The only way you'll mess it
- 1:02:07Speaker 8: up is you'll misspell my name. So I'm gonna spell
- 1:02:09Speaker 8: my name for it. Because everybody get the I and
- 1:02:12Speaker 8: the e in the wrong place. So t R I
- 1:02:17Speaker 8: V E d A. If you can say bel Vita
- 1:02:22Speaker 8: like the cheese, you can say Trevita is cheesy, but
- 1:02:26Speaker 8: you'll never forget it.
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: Got it?
- 1:02:29Speaker 11: Okay?
- 1:02:30Speaker 8: Love you, Oh and the other thing you'll always remember
- 1:02:33Speaker 8: stay out of God's business, because that's what they'll remember
- 1:02:36Speaker 8: me for fifty years from now, because I always say
- 1:02:39Speaker 8: that stay out of God's business. The only thing he
- 1:02:41Speaker 8: needs you to do is be obedient to what he's
- 1:02:43Speaker 8: called you to do. Because God is God all by himself,
- 1:02:47Speaker 8: He don't need nothing from us but to be obedient
- 1:02:49Speaker 8: to what He's called us to do. So if you
- 1:02:52Speaker 8: ever hear somebody saying that fifty years from now, I
- 1:02:54Speaker 8: said it first.
- 1:02:59Speaker 6: For though I have truly truly enjoyed you guys once again,
- 1:03:04Speaker 6: and I know that those that are tuned in have
- 1:03:07Speaker 6: been blessed by the nuggets and the things that you
- 1:03:10Speaker 6: have shared from your perspective on legacy and minding your legacy,
- 1:03:17Speaker 6: because all of our legacies are different, because our journeys
- 1:03:20Speaker 6: are different and our perspectives are different. So it's always
- 1:03:24Speaker 6: great that we can come together on panels like this
- 1:03:27Speaker 6: and be able to share so that we can reach
- 1:03:30Speaker 6: the masses.
- 1:03:30Speaker 5: So again, I thank you guys for taking time to
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: stop by and share. Know that my door's always open.
- 1:03:39Speaker 6: I want people to remember me as someone that always
- 1:03:44Speaker 6: wanted to educate, empower and encourage the next person to
- 1:03:49Speaker 6: stay on this journey that we call life so that
- 1:03:51Speaker 6: they will be able to leave a legacy and somebody
- 1:03:55Speaker 6: will remember something that they encountered from coming in your present.
- 1:04:00Speaker 6: So that is my take on fifty years from now.
- 1:04:07Speaker 6: I have been blessed, and I hope you guys that
- 1:04:10Speaker 6: are listening, even if you're hearing it as a replay,
- 1:04:13Speaker 6: I hope you will take some of these nuggets and
- 1:04:16Speaker 6: apply it to your daily life because legacy is being
- 1:04:20Speaker 6: created every moment, every second of every day as you live.
- 1:04:25Speaker 5: Because guess what, we.
- 1:04:27Speaker 6: Can't go back to yesterday and correct something that was
- 1:04:31Speaker 6: done and do it over.
- 1:04:35Speaker 5: So what was done.
- 1:04:36Speaker 6: Yesterday is already part of your legacy. So take advantage
- 1:04:41Speaker 6: of every moment. Take advantage of every moment. Again, I
- 1:04:44Speaker 6: want to thank Chavida, Brother Baroni, doctor Chen for taking
- 1:04:50Speaker 6: time out your schedules and stopping by and share. Know
- 1:04:54Speaker 6: that anytime y'all want to stop by and share with
- 1:04:57Speaker 6: me on this Thursday, because I now am here on
- 1:05:02Speaker 6: second Thursday. This is going to be the mind your
- 1:05:07Speaker 6: legacy corner for the rest of the year. So anytime
- 1:05:12Speaker 6: you guys want to stop by, just let me know.
- 1:05:15Speaker 6: And we can continue this conversation because this is a
- 1:05:18Speaker 6: worthy conversation, a needed conversation, and something that just cannot
- 1:05:24Speaker 6: be wrapped up in one hour.
- 1:05:27Speaker 5: We probably can go.
- 1:05:28Speaker 6: Into December to thirty first, every second Thursday until December
- 1:05:35Speaker 6: and probably still wouldn't cover everything. But I tell you
- 1:05:40Speaker 6: I have been blessed. And again I thank you guys
- 1:05:43Speaker 6: for being here tonight. I hope you have a great
- 1:05:46Speaker 6: rest of your evening. I hope y'all have a great weekend,
- 1:05:50Speaker 6: and I'll be in touch because we may do this
- 1:05:54Speaker 6: again in September. So I love y'all. I appreciate you
- 1:06:00Speaker 6: guys for stopping by. So I hope you guys have
- 1:06:05Speaker 6: been blessed.
- 1:06:06Speaker 5: And see y'all next time.
- 1:06:09Speaker 12: Tonight, and my heart to your good night, good night,
- 1:06:18Speaker 12: Queen Visionary Angela signing off in grace, keep your legacy
- 1:06:24Speaker 12: in motion, keep walking in faith. Good night, good night,
- 1:06:32Speaker 12: Keep minding your legs, see building it up.
- 1:06:37Speaker 9: Fomp in truth. Peeple, who God called you to be?
- 1:06:43Speaker 5: Let your purpose?
- 1:06:44Speaker 9: Times right? To keep walking in purpose? Suie me past time.
- 1:06:53Speaker 5: Don't forget who you walk in.
- 1:06:56Speaker 9: You're a rising star.
