- 2:28Father, thank you for bringing us together tonight. Thank you for allowing me
- 2:32the space to be able to do this with my best friend. We have
- 2:37been friends for so long, and it is because of you that our paths
- 2:40crossed and they have been connected every since. Please allow us to give anyone
- 2:46who is listening tonight what they need from us. And your precious name,
- 2:50Jesus, we pray Amen. We are waiting, waiting, waiting. Hi,
- 3:00hey girl, Hey, hey girl. How you doing like a girl?
- 3:06I'm good? How are you? I am wonderful. Now listen,
- 3:10this is definitely new for me. I am taking over your show tonight.
- 3:16So how does it feel, number one to be on the other side.
- 3:23It's a little different, it's but I'm like it. Okay, Okay,
- 3:30we'll see. You couldn't have chose a better person to do this part right
- 3:34here, because you know, I'm gonna be silly, I'm gonna be goofy,
- 3:38and I'm gonna ask some serious questions as we go along. So let's
- 3:46see. Where shall I start? Where should I start? Hmm? Okay?
- 3:53We met in middle school, right, tell me about that? First
- 3:58interaction. So it was gym class. We had gym together, you and
- 4:06I and your cousin Jessica. We met around that time. We were the
- 4:14same height. Unfortunately I stayed this this tight. Yeah. Yeah, we
- 4:20met. And as the days, you know, turned in the weeks and
- 4:26weeks in the months, we started hanging around each other a little more.
- 4:30And you know, we used to dress out for gym, and in the
- 4:38midst of dressing out, we all used to, well not all of us,
- 4:42but me, you and Jessica, we used to sing, I mean,
- 4:46like the it's WVM pressure right. But you know, from that day
- 4:54to this day, I've always valued our relationship. Yeah, I I mean
- 5:00I can say that too. I mean I can honestly say that friendship,
- 5:05that word for most people these days doesn't carry a lot of weight, because
- 5:12you can be friends with somebody one day and then the next day you don't
- 5:15even know who that person is, simply because of what they consider friendship.
- 5:20Right now, we've had our disagreements, we've had our arguments, we've had
- 5:26those things, and it's always okay, you could be mad today, I'll
- 5:29call you tomorrow right when I'm not mad. You know, we've had those
- 5:33moments, and I can honestly say I feel like that is what true friendship
- 5:38is, to be able to tell that person what they need to hear versus
- 5:43what they want to hear, because oftentimes we want to hear all the good
- 5:46stuff about ourselves, but we never really want to dig deep and hear that
- 5:51bad stuff simply because that bad stuff is what we need to change and what
- 5:59we need to work on with ourselves. And we may not even see any
- 6:02issues with it, but it's like, uh, girl, come here,
- 6:04let me tell you something you need fix it, because that ain't ain't it,
- 6:11That is not it, and that is not what we're doing right.
- 6:14And we've had those conversations plenty of times, and I can honestly say that
- 6:21in my toughest moments through my health crisis and things of that nature, especially
- 6:27in twenty thirteen, that was really a tough one for all of us and
- 6:31for you, your husband, your son, everybody was there during that time,
- 6:39taking me from Spartanburg to Greenville to try to get help because I went
- 6:45like from talking like this to having trouble completing the sentence, and it was
- 6:51so so frustrating, and doctors couldn't tell us what was going on. They
- 6:57just kept saying it's headaches and this and the third and that was not what
- 7:00it was. So I am so so grateful for you being by my side
- 7:05in those moments because that was really tough, and I don't think I would
- 7:11have been able to make it without, you know, because you know,
- 7:15I ain't the easiest patient either at all. But I'm definitely not a good
- 7:21patient, you know when it comes to sitting down and you know, being
- 7:27still well yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean as much as I try
- 7:33to say no to that, that is the absolute truth, because it's not
- 7:41what I do best. I don't know how to do that now. Since
- 7:46becoming part of the podcast team, what has been your most challenging thing that
- 7:54you have faced and what do you see and hope for yourself content on this
- 8:01journey. I know that's a compounded question, but that that's what I love
- 8:05it. I love it. So I jumped into this podcast thing basically following
- 8:13you. You know, we we we do that like I'll introduce you to
- 8:20something, you do it. You introduce me to something I tell you know,
- 8:24and uh, it's not gonna work. And but you know this this
- 8:31was different. I feel like almost like I was called to do it.
- 8:39Everybody has a story, and I wanted to present a platform where everybody can
- 8:48be seen and heard and you know, not be judged for whatever their situation
- 8:56is. So yeah, that's that's basically what was the first part of the
- 9:03question. What has been your most challenging part about doing this? Challenging part
- 9:11is knowing that I can't do a do over? That is, Yeah,
- 9:15that has been it for me, Like you know, if I slip up
- 9:18and can't remember what I'm trying to say, and I do this thing where
- 9:26is my favorite word? So that has been you know, learning for me,
- 9:31and that was like the hardest part for me in the beginning. Well,
- 9:37listen, we all go back and critique ourselves. I can honestly say
- 9:41one thing about me though, I ain't watched none of my podcasts except for
- 9:45the ones I don't my mama, right, those are the only ones I
- 9:48have gone back and watched. But I'm harder on myself than other people are.
- 9:54What you know that that's that's one of my things that I feel like,
- 9:58I I need to stop doing that so much because you know, I'm
- 10:07I'm the hardest person on myself, and I understand where you're coming from when
- 10:11you say that. You know you can't go back and do it over.
- 10:16And there's no such thing as a perfect moment anyway, you know, So
- 10:20you just take the moment for what it is, because whatever you think was
- 10:26imperfect, somebody else looks as being perfect, you know. And that's one
- 10:31thing that I can say that I've learned during this process, is because I
- 10:35was hesitant in starting this, but you know, we have a big sister
- 10:41mentor who's like, you can do this. I don't know what you're talking
- 10:45about. And that's, you know, with the push that you gave me
- 10:48with even writing my first book. You know, I was hesitant that you
- 10:54know, you came to me in April. I didn't do nothing with that
- 10:58until Nomber, and then I got mad and frustrated and put it down.
- 11:03And then I didn't tell you that I had picked it back up because obviously
- 11:07I didn't have a choice because my kids locked me in my room after your
- 11:11your niece had her wisdom teeth pulled, I was not allowed to get out
- 11:16of my room, so I had no other choice but to do something.
- 11:20So that's where that happened, and you know, I'm grateful for that push
- 11:24because I was definitely hesitant on starting that. But over these years, what
- 11:33can you say you have learned about yourself? M So over the past few
- 11:43years, just from learning from you, I learned that I am a runner.
- 11:54Like I run from the most difficult parts of life. Behind the word
- 12:01I can't. I lived by it. I know it just doesn't work with
- 12:09me, though, But okay, I work with you and a few other
- 12:13people unfortunately unfortunately. But also you've taught me how to embrace the hardest parts
- 12:26of life in my life, and you know, for that, I thank
- 12:31you so much. I mean, you've introduced me to things that I didn't
- 12:35care for. But I was ready to rock with you because that's what we
- 12:41do. I mean, you know, with the whole college thing, I
- 12:48was like, why am I going to a friends and family day? Because
- 12:52I don't plan to go to college. So I was like, I ain't
- 12:56even even got my g DS, so what am I doing? I was
- 12:58like, let me contribute and tell us something don't feel right, something hurt,
- 13:03something important. I can't Oh my gosh, I can't even remember what
- 13:09I told you was hurting. But oh, I would say what you said
- 13:13was hurting because we're gonna get into that part, because you shouldn't even brought
- 13:16that one up, because I was gonna let that one go. You can't
- 13:20let it go because, in all honesty, it brought us to a place
- 13:26of being able to be upfront and vulnerable with each other and you know,
- 13:33being able to be clear on what we feel, say I love you,
- 13:37and move past it. I mean, we haven't. We've never been in
- 13:41a situation where it's been so hard that we just can't talk to each other
- 13:46and can't work it out, or just like, oh, I ain't talking
- 13:50to her, no mo. And you know, because people they take friends
- 13:54for granted. Yeah, and oftentimes the s all this thing can kill a
- 14:01friendship. But we've never had that problem, so you know. But yeah,
- 14:07you cussed me out, real good, real good. Well, listen,
- 14:09I gave you. Okay, let's just give some back story on that.
- 14:15Okay, but let's let's go there first. I've let you know literally
- 14:20almost two weeks in advance that this was coming up, and I wanted you
- 14:26to go on the day that I had my busiest day at school because I
- 14:31wanted you to see what was in front of you if you took that first
- 14:35step. Now we get to the day of I knew this text was coming,
- 14:46and this is what the text said. See, yes I do.
- 14:52I do. I surely do, because I was so mad when I got
- 14:58it, because I was like, okay, it says six, I'm not
- 15:01feeling well this morning. My stomach is bothering me, so I ain't gonna
- 15:05be able to go now mind you. I'm up and I'm getting ready and
- 15:09everything, and I'm like, okay, I knew this HEALTHO was gonna do
- 15:11this. I knew she was gonna do it. And so I'm I'm walking
- 15:16around I don't win and brush my teeth and it's I'm brushing my teeth.
- 15:18I said, oh no, not today. She don't get to get out
- 15:22of this. So I text you back and I said, I'm in pain
- 15:26every single day and I get up and go to class and I have left
- 15:30the school in the ambulance. You ain't got no excuse. You gonna get
- 15:33dressed, and I beat it in the middy and you're right, nah huh.
- 15:39And now and then you're talking about okay, I'll be ready exactly because
- 15:46it was no I was not taking no for an answer. And then when
- 15:50you got in the car, I said, now, who you thought you
- 15:52was talking to? Yeah? I got chess. Tis like a five year
- 15:56old child, m cause who you thought you was talking to? Because that
- 16:00was not gonna find with me? And you should have known better. And
- 16:03normally I would have I would have said, Okay, you know what,
- 16:08she ain't feeling good, But that morning I was not having no bits and
- 16:12pieces of that at all, none of it. And then we went to
- 16:18lunch afterwards, and I was like, look, you have got to get
- 16:21yourself outside of the box that you keep yourself confined in, because if you
- 16:26want to see the rest of the world, you gotta take a step out
- 16:29of that box or you either gotta break the box down so that you're not
- 16:33closed in, but you gotta be the one willing to take that step.
- 16:37You know. I was liking that I was one of those people that when
- 16:41it came down to me even starting school, I got a lecture from my
- 16:45own child because I had every excuse in the book. Yeah, and she
- 16:49told me about that. She gave it to you, good too, girl,
- 16:52did she? Because I'm sitting there I't literally making like that morning when
- 16:59we got up to now I'm like, oh my god, let me just
- 17:02tell you how that went. Now I made I can't say it was a
- 17:06mistake, but in my mind at that time, it was a mistake because
- 17:11I made the mistake of telling her that I had signed up to do a
- 17:18enrollment I guess you could say View of Virginia College at the time, and
- 17:26I gave her the time and date of this so called meeting. Well,
- 17:33that morning comes around and I'm like, yeah, I'm not I'm not going.
- 17:41I'm not going. You can go back to sleep. She pulled my
- 17:44covers off me and said, get up and get dressed. We got something
- 17:47where we need to be. I said, okay, fine, I'm gonna
- 17:51get up and I'm gonna get dressed. I ain't gonna have no classes I
- 17:53wanna take anyway, So it's okay. So this is how Like this was
- 17:59me d and how your time? You know how I am. So I'm
- 18:02like, I'm just telling how it don't matter. I ain't gonna be able
- 18:04to do none of this. It's just it's okay. Fine. So we
- 18:08get there. My enrollment specialist comes out. She's talking to me, and
- 18:12I'm like Okay, that's all fine and good. Can y'all do Can I
- 18:17do online classes? You know, because I'm still not completely well, you
- 18:22know, I'm still having my issues, and so I'm asking these questions and
- 18:26she's like, no, you have to do online your first semester, your
- 18:30first term. And I'm like, okay, well that ain't gonna work for
- 18:33me because I'm I'm just it's just not gonna work. I need online and
- 18:38it was just lie working and so then I was like, okay. So
- 18:44Kayla is like, okay, I'm about sick of you because you have given
- 18:49every single excuse under the sun. This is coming from a woman who lost
- 18:53her ability to walk, who lost her ability to talk, who lost her
- 18:57ability to do much of anything, who regained all of that, and now
- 19:03you sitting over here talking about you can't I there is nothing that you can't
- 19:06do unless you just don't wanna do it. So yeah, and so she
- 19:11was like, so I'm gonna need you to go ahead and look at this
- 19:12book and figure out what you're gonna take, and then we're gonna talk to
- 19:17financial aid. After that, then the ladies started telling me about the assessment
- 19:22tests, and I'm like, well, I ain't been in school and over
- 19:25nineteen years, I dis assessment test when I got to make on this,
- 19:29and they were like, I had to score at least I think one twenty
- 19:36or something like that, and I'm like, okay, well, if it's
- 19:40gonna have some math questions on there, you can go ahead and forget that,
- 19:42cause I this ain't gonna work for me. So I'm still giving every
- 19:48excuse under the stunt. So she's like, well, I'm setting up your
- 19:52assessment test, and so my child was like, yeah, you just got
- 19:56every excuse under the sun. I'm tired of listening to you talk. Going
- 20:00there and take that test. So I go in there and I take the
- 20:03test. I passed the test. I made a one eighty two on the
- 20:06assessment tests. So I'm like she's like, well, you did good.
- 20:10You only have one general class that you need to take general education and then
- 20:15the rest are in the field because I chose medical offoite administration to do right.
- 20:21So then I'm still trying to give them every excuse under the sun,
- 20:23but neither one of them are listening to me. So then we go to
- 20:27take go to financial aide and I'm like, they ain't gonna have no financial
- 20:33aid to help me. I don't even like I had every excuse under the
- 20:37sun. Needless to say, I ended up starting August the fourth, which
- 20:41was Nathan's birthday. Yeah, and I ended up graduating three months early.
- 20:48It was a two year program. I finished in a year and nine months.
- 20:52So you know, it was one of the best decisions that I made
- 20:57and that my child made me. She called me after that and she said,
- 21:03Auntie, let me tell you about your sister. I said, call
- 21:08the baby. What's she do? What she do? And she looked like
- 21:12hard hated. She was like, are you that hard hated too? I
- 21:15said, probably so more than likely. See with neither one of y'all right
- 21:23now, she was like, because she was like, you know what you're
- 21:26about to make me mad too? How do you no more? I love
- 21:30you? Yeah? I had. I think I had just told her nerves
- 21:34completely up. Yeah, I had completely. It was bad, but you
- 21:41know, like I said, you know, that was one of the greatest
- 21:44things, the greatest decisions that I did. But I wanted you to experience
- 21:49that as well. And you were just so adamant at no. Yeah,
- 21:57and I'm like, you can do this, you know, you can definitely
- 22:02do this if you need help with studying, you need help with whatever I
- 22:07am here. You don't have to do this by yourself. And you're like,
- 22:11yeah, I'm gonna do it, and then it would always be what
- 22:12says I'm going for my geed, Do you need help? No? Okay?
- 22:18All right? Then you said, well I didn't passed out on okay,
- 22:22Well tell me what you need help with and I'll help you. And
- 22:25then I had started working at them Adult Learning Center, right, I'm like
- 22:30you, I go every what how many days I was working up there Tuesdays
- 22:36and Tuesday when same and Thursday I was there, and I'm like, I
- 22:38can get you. You can be there while I'm there, and then you
- 22:42ain't got a word about nothing. I You do your class while I'm in
- 22:45there, registering people and everything, and you just do what you need to
- 22:49do. Nope, nope. You know what? So when I got pregnant
- 22:59with Dante, I quit school because my mama and a newborn baby wasn't it
- 23:08wasn't it wasn't doing what it was supposed to be doing. So was like,
- 23:14yeah, we're not about to do that. And then on top of
- 23:17all of that, you know, being picked on and my ability to learn
- 23:22things being that you know, I've had brain surgery. I learning a lot
- 23:30different and I retained information different than most people. And you know, I've
- 23:36had teachers laugh at me and and you know, just like okay, she
- 23:41she evidently don't get it. So we just got to move on. And
- 23:45I'm like, I've always felt like I was always behind. Yeah, you
- 23:52know the old people like to say I'm always behind the eight ball. I
- 23:56felt like I was always behind the eight ball. And then having Deonte,
- 24:03my life took the back seat, like nothing was real important to me but
- 24:07him and making sure he had what he needed. And you know, once
- 24:14he graduated in twenty thirteen, you know, I'm like, okay, he
- 24:18out of that. Not what what's left? Yeah? What's left? What
- 24:22am I supposed to be doing now? So I remember that conversation because she
- 24:26was like, my baby gone, what I supposed to do now? Live
- 24:30girl? When he graduated, I thought I was gonna die. I was
- 24:34like, Oh, he's not gonna need me, No, my lord.
- 24:37Oh, I remember that conversation all too well, and I was like,
- 24:41I'm not listening to this foolishness. Time for graduation after everybody is gone or
- 24:49whatever, I found Deonte and I looked at him and just broke down crying,
- 24:55and he was like, mom, really really because you know how he
- 24:59is, Like really, that's what you're doing. And Rico was like,
- 25:04Deante, just give your mama. She you know how she is just you
- 25:14know, but through it all. To take it back to the friendship aspect
- 25:21of everything, I look at my close friendships like a marriage through sickness and
- 25:27health better or words to depth do us part. And I don't allow that
- 25:33many people next to me because you know, people have an agenda, so
- 25:38you know, yeah, like once they get what they want from you,
- 25:42they out and I I, I can't rock with people like that. So
- 25:48I only have usualan and and not that's close to me that I hold close
- 25:56to my heart like that, because I mean, y'all are the only ones
- 26:00that stay on me about what I need to be doing and what I you
- 26:06know, how I need to go about my day and things like that.
- 26:10I mean, other than Rico, you know, he does what he can
- 26:14do, but at certain points he's just like, you know, she boyheaded,
- 26:18I'm gonna just let them handle it, you know. But you know,
- 26:22because we can say things in a way that is going to pierce a
- 26:27little more than what he would say, you know, because as as your
- 26:33significant other, your partner, your your best friend, and that aspect.
- 26:38It's just like he don't want to go too far to where it's like I
- 26:45didn't mean it that way, but I needed to say it this way in
- 26:48order for you to get it. But they can say it to you.
- 26:53Yeah, they can say it, and it might especially me because I'm I'm
- 26:59the harshest one of all, you know, I'm more are Yeah, so
- 27:07I'm not the one to do the sugarcoating aspect. I just can't because I
- 27:15feel like if I sugarcoat it with you, You're not going to move like
- 27:18you need to. And so I ain't got time to be coddling you and
- 27:25doing that nurturing type stuff when it's Hey, I need you to get it
- 27:29together because this is what needs to take place you over here and your feelings
- 27:33right now, and I need you to get out of your feelings and understand
- 27:37what needs to take place. You can go back and get in your feelings
- 27:41tomorrow, but today I need you to do this, you know, And
- 27:44that's basically how it always is because it's like, Okay, yeah, I
- 27:47hear you, I hear exactly what you're saying, but you gotta let that
- 27:52go and go over here, because you're trying to get them to meet you
- 27:56where you are and they're not coming on that street. Budget Yeah, they're
- 28:00not coming. So either you gonna either accept them where they are and meet
- 28:04them halfway, or you just gonna keep on riding past, you know.
- 28:10And those are hard conversations that we've had to have on several occasions, and
- 28:15it's like, Okay, did you have to say it like that? Yeah?
- 28:19I did, M I surely did. You mad at me right now?
- 28:25And that's fine, you know, looking over, I love you and
- 28:27will top lad uh huh. And that's what happens. You know. We've
- 28:33had some really good moments and some really silly moments. You know. The
- 28:41most silly moment that I can't oh is we we went out for a best
- 28:48friend's day and we went to Broncos. We had our tacos and stuff,
- 28:55and we had our margaritas. Now, mind you, neither one of us
- 29:00are big drinkers, right, so what made us get MUCHO is we was
- 29:07trying to be grown like we was trying to be grown. However, I
- 29:12needed some chapsticks, so we went to Walmart to get chapstick. Now,
- 29:18I don't know what was funny about this chapstick or the decision that was so
- 29:23hard for me to make, but we said in that out and laughed for
- 29:30I don't know how long, because I can make up my mind about this
- 29:33chapstick. It was the conversation that you were was having with yourself, okay,
- 29:41chapstick, because you was like, if I get this double peck,
- 29:45Kyle was gonna wind up with both of them, and I have to have
- 29:48one for the house and one for the car. And I'm looking at you,
- 29:52l yep. You do realize you're thinking out loud yep. And somebody
- 29:59spoke to you that knew you from Virginia College and why you just bust out
- 30:04laughing, which made me bust out laughing. And I'm sure we looked like
- 30:08some ignorant foods up in Walmart laughing. But needless to say, the uh,
- 30:15those drinks did what they needed to do. They did, they did.
- 30:23But you know, like I can say, we've had some really good
- 30:29moments. We've had those hard conversations that were necessary and we have a solid
- 30:36foundation of friendship, you know. And I can't say that about many people
- 30:41because I don't really like too many people, and now I don't really get
- 30:45close to many people. You know. If I like, we can talk
- 30:49today, and you know, we may not talk again for like three weeks,
- 30:56but we pick up right where we left off. And that goes to
- 31:00show that there is a true foundation of friendship. Look, I didn't I
- 31:10surely didn't want to go back there either. I didn't, but I did
- 31:15I did, you know, But this one thing that I can honestly say,
- 31:26Oh my god, my children, my children, I love them.
- 31:30Let me say this to you. You know, you've known me longer than
- 31:33I've known my biological family, and I you know, I found them in
- 31:40two thousand and ten. I lost my mom in two thousand fourteen when you
- 31:47got when you got sick, my mom, even with everything that she was
- 31:52going through, was like, how is Trevida. I still got the voicemail,
- 31:56how is Trevida? Is she okay? Does she need anything? And
- 32:01you know it meant so much to me for her not even laying eyes on
- 32:09you, you know, to love you like I love you, because you
- 32:14know I'm like, I don't know ifbody love you like I love you,
- 32:16but your your kids, yeah, you know. And then like one other
- 32:22instance, you went out, ma'am oh yeah, and you did not tell
- 32:29anybody you're whereabouts? See that's not true. I did. And after I
- 32:35got home after y'all, don't say how you turned out your location like you
- 32:40grown okay? And Kyla called me, and here I am trying to be
- 32:47strong for Kylar Colors, upset Colors crying. I don't know where my mama
- 32:52is and my heart is like breaking because I can't console her. I don't
- 32:59know what to say to her because hey, you know, like, yeah,
- 33:05who as you walked in that door, I broke down crying, and
- 33:08you're like, what is wrong with you? What is wrong with y'all?
- 33:14And the sad part about it is I left the phone number and I left
- 33:19who I was with on the table where my children always go and eat in
- 33:24front of the TV in the living room. And guess what she did.
- 33:29She put her food on top of the place where I left them up.
- 33:31So then that's why I'm like, y'all, don't made this whole thing.
- 33:36I don't have to cut my date shot cause y'all don't win in a panic,
- 33:40my phone blowing up, y'all nine one one C S I FBI first
- 33:46forty eight, we was about to have him all searching you hear me.
- 33:51I mean so from that moment on, I did not have another date for
- 33:55quite some time. You didn't need one. You was on punishment. See
- 34:00that, Will, I'll be talking about that will. I'll be talking about
- 34:05y'all keep trying to tell me that I'm not gone, And I don't understand
- 34:08what it's coming from because I'm gone. It's coming from a place to love.
- 34:15I mean, I'm away. Everybody knows you're awaereabouts. I mean,
- 34:22you know the rules. Okay. Now, see listen, I didn't even
- 34:30do nothing. Though I didn't do nothing. We went bowling, we had
- 34:35dinner. That was it, you know. But I wasn't even gone alone.
- 34:39Though I and I talked like and see this is what Kyler didn't tell
- 34:44you. Kyle had left and I told I said, I'll probably be look
- 34:52no follow me. Actually what I'm talking about, Kyler. Yes, yes,
- 34:57first forty eight. No, outside, somebody were running license plates and
- 35:06and everything. But I left the stuff on the table. She put her
- 35:12plate down on top of the place where I left, and I put it
- 35:16right there so that she was say it and it was rigging. You would
- 35:23have been you would have been better off putting it in the middle of your
- 35:27bed because she stay in your bed. Well, that would have been true
- 35:32too, But I figured, and she went to the sack. She went
- 35:37like her She was a creature of habit, and I knew she was gonna
- 35:40go right in there with her food and go right to the couch and put
- 35:45it on the table and sit there and eating. So she put it right
- 35:49on top of the note that I left. Because that first call, it
- 35:53was cool, Auntie, you talked to my mama. Look, she talked
- 35:58about when I call you answered the phone right d D. He said,
- 36:05we all need to get together that hang out. Listen, girl, I
- 36:07am a miss I'll by myself. Y'all get together, Hanne. She is
- 36:15not grown, Tell okay, tell me she ain't listening, see y'alla because
- 36:22I am grown. I don't know. Yes, miss Arma, she needs
- 36:27a silver alert brace. Yes. Look, my kids keep trying to get
- 36:31me to get an iPhone so they can get me the the watch whatever their
- 36:35thing is. No, I don't know why you just trying to ride the
- 36:40android train on app Because y'all don't want me to be grown? Because you're
- 36:46why because you're not. You're not You're not who Lord, Jesus, get
- 36:52your children. Get your children, because they keep trying to tell me what
- 36:55to do. You're not, you know, Jesus, come get you.
- 37:00Yeah. You look, you ain't got time to be grandma. You don't
- 37:04skip your grown up look it. Look to tell you what Kyler taught me.
- 37:08Kyle taught me. Sh she told me. She said, you ain't
- 37:14having no hot mama summer. You gonna have a uh what does she call
- 37:19it? I had to I'm a grandma now, so I ain't. No,
- 37:22they ain't no hot mama summer. I said, well, Kyle,
- 37:25I ain't never really had a hot girl summer, so I think I don't
- 37:29skip collar that anyway. She said, well, you're a grandma now,
- 37:31so you ain't got to worry about so you know, Natalie, Yah,
- 37:37Yeah, down to ma'am. Huh, Miss Natalie. We we got this.
- 37:42We gonna go on do our own day. No, y'all gonna have
- 37:45a seat somewhere. I ain't had no hot grandma summer. Me and Scotty
- 37:50chilling on Friday nights. That's what we do. And I have to tell
- 37:54you to mind your business and leave it. I was alone cause you be
- 37:58calling us everything I meant, it's what y'all doing. Mind in our business
- 38:01now, Scott do look like she a great secret keeper though for real,
- 38:06she looked like she holding in all your infult. Look Scott be, Me
- 38:09and Scott be having our own look good time, and she'd be looking at
- 38:14them like it can y'all go? Because I don't know why y'all still here.
- 38:17This my grandma's time, This my grandma time. Y'all y'all couldn't in
- 38:22got all mind your business, just got all my your business. But back
- 38:28to the conversation about in all friendships and things, we have literally gone through
- 38:39it all, and what stands out the most for me is when you lost
- 38:49your ability to walk and talk being that you talk about lamented. Yeah,
- 38:55and you got so much to say, you know, well you are gonna
- 39:02get a car your mama, Look, I go get my balloon, you
- 39:08know, and then just finding doctors that kept like giving you the run around
- 39:15and not being you know, giving you answers that you needed and then sometimes
- 39:21you would text me, and that's one thing I do hate about texts,
- 39:25and you cannot read somebody's tone, and so when you text me, and
- 39:30sometimes it looked like a suicide note, I'm like, oh my god.
- 39:34And then I'm like, I'm trying and it ain't even that deep. But
- 39:39you know me, I'm been through some things because you know me, if
- 39:46I'm in my feelings, I'm in my emotions, I'm gonna say everything that
- 39:51I'm feeling in that moment, and y'all will be like, okay, you
- 39:54all right. You know, I'm just telling you how much I appreciate you,
- 39:59I love you, I'll value you, and so on and so forth.
- 40:01Those conversations be coming up a thing there sometimes and I just be like,
- 40:06oh Lord, what is she doing? And I'd be like, I'm
- 40:09good, What's what the problem is? You know, I'm glad you should
- 40:14because you can't hang yourself with nothing, because you can't reach nothing. So
- 40:19look here, I thank God for your your folk foot eight. I see
- 40:25God knew what he was doing when he stopped right there. That's all I
- 40:30can say. But if you well, I think if he'd have made me
- 40:37any towler, he'd have been like, Okay, you know what, I
- 40:38already got enough with her right here. If I would have gave her another
- 40:43inches, I wouldn't be able to do nothing with her at all. I
- 40:45already got Sometimes, you know, the mouth of a six footer. Yeah,
- 40:52you know, because look, I might be small, but you ain't
- 40:57in the runoff of me. Nah, you ain't even pump me him?
- 41:00Do not that I'm six feet taller when I need to be. You know,
- 41:04I'm tallering spirit. Now, I'm tallering spirit. I may not get
- 41:07there, but I might have to stand on a couple of things to do
- 41:09it, but I'm I'm gonna get there. My punt gonna be made right.
- 41:15Nothing funny thing. We was in Walmart. I don't know if you
- 41:20remember this, but we were in Walmart. You were getting grocery and you
- 41:24were trying to reach something and this dude was checking you out, and because
- 41:31you didn't seem interested what you was reaching for, he kind of like pushed
- 41:36it back a little bit and you start saying some some words you had for
- 41:43him. I could have laid in their out and just died laughing, because
- 41:49I'm because when he pushed it back, that made me not even be able
- 41:54to reach it. I'm like, dude, really, yeah, he won't
- 42:01try to no more. But you know that's just that's just who I am,
- 42:05you know. But I am honored that you asked me to do this
- 42:10show tonight, and you know that. Of course we could go on and
- 42:15on. However, we only have a small amount of time, so I
- 42:21will come back and take over again whenever you want me to. So you
- 42:27know, I don't know what your signature line is for your show. I
- 42:32know yours. I know because because I don't know your signature because do you
- 42:40say the same thing at the end of your show every time I do?
- 42:45But listen. But no, no, I'm gonna I'm gonna give you an
- 42:50opportunity to throw out a signature line. You know, the title of the
- 42:52show. What does that mean to you? Okay, let's see, this
- 43:00is how I'm gonna close your shirl tonight. Okay. With God always says
- 43:06that whatever you're praying to him for it may not come on the time that
- 43:12you have a sign but you will never be delayed or denied for what He
- 43:15has called you to do because your assignment is always on time. How about
- 43:21that? That's it? Right? There all right, y'all. I thank
- 43:25y'all for tuning an in with me and my bestie for life. She can't
- 43:30get rid of me if she wanted to, and I know sometimes she'd be
- 43:32like, I'm trying, not trying. Some days she'd be like, mmmm,
- 43:37I can't deal with her to that because she on another level. I
- 43:39talk to her tomorrow or maybe even next week, because I ain't doing it
- 43:44today. And you know, very see that conversation that I'm happy exactly,
- 43:49it's I always gonna come back around. So you can't get rid of me
- 43:52completely. You're only temporarily because I'm gonna go on to my corner. You're
- 43:57gonna go on to yall, cane. Then we still gonna text at the
- 43:59end to all of that disagreement or whatever. I love y'all talk to you
- 44:01tomorrow because that never we never ever go without saying that, regardless of how
- 44:07mad or how upset we are. And that's one of the things that I
- 44:10feel like has kept us together as sisters and besties and whatever else. Now,
