Accomplishing a task or goal feels great! It's like opening a gift. Helping others achieves their goals feels even better. It's like giving someone the perfect gift. I would argue, it's the most important gift you can give someone! If you are a new manager, think of accomplishing tasks as gifts. Do you want to receive the gift and get a short term boost, or help someone else accomplish the task, giving them the gift, and enjoy the long term growth of your team?
