- 0:11Speaker 1: Welcome to Girls Gone Homework, a Hallmark review podcast. I'm
- 0:13Speaker 1: Megan and I'm a longtime Hallmark fan. I'm Wendy. I'm
- 0:16Speaker 1: a former Hallmark hater. On today's episode, we are discussing
- 0:19Speaker 1: Toast to Italy, the first movie in Hallmark's twenty fifth
- 0:22Speaker 1: Birthday celebration lineup of three movies, which originally aired on
- 0:26Speaker 1: Saturday August first, twenty twenty sixth, and is now streaming
- 0:30Speaker 1: on Hallmark Plus. Poor Hallmark doesn't even get like a
- 0:33Speaker 1: birthday month family. Like three weeks they're like, sorry, we
- 0:37Speaker 1: got a bumpy for Fallen to Love, which I saw
- 0:40Speaker 1: a commercial for because I watched this unfriendly and I
- 0:45Speaker 1: just have like a full panic overpening. It's all happening,
- 0:50Speaker 1: yes see. I think you have like planted the panic seat.
- 0:54Speaker 1: I am about the hoorry. I mean I was in
- 0:57Speaker 1: my home goods and it's all Halloween. No, I'm not ready.
- 1:02Speaker 1: I'm not ready, everybody. Oh, I am in full prop
- 1:04Speaker 1: over here. I got a new planner system. I'm working
- 1:07Speaker 1: on a meal plan. So let's talk Toast to Italy
- 1:11Speaker 1: with a synopsis. Jenny travels to Italy for a special
- 1:16Speaker 1: bottle of wine for her sister's wedding. She meets a
- 1:19Speaker 1: rego also looking for the famous love wine, and together
- 1:22Speaker 1: their search leads to a love of their own. Michael
- 1:27Speaker 1: Robinson directed Toast to Italy. This marks his ninety fifth
- 1:30Speaker 1: directing credit, and he most recently directed Two for Tea
- 1:33Speaker 1: from earlier this year. I liked that movie a lot too.
- 1:36Speaker 1: I think that is I was thinking, Oh, total side note,
- 1:41Speaker 1: I'm curious what the listeners want. I was thinking we
- 1:44Speaker 1: should do like a top ten list of the our
- 1:48Speaker 1: favorite movies of the year. Sure before CTC, yes, before
- 1:55Speaker 1: that starts, Yes, let's do it, okay. Inglis wrote the screenplay.
- 2:01Speaker 1: He has thirty four writing credits, but this isn't his
- 2:03Speaker 1: first Hallmark project. He previously penned the movie Nostalgic Christmas
- 2:09Speaker 1: from twenty nineteen, starrying one of Meg's Meg's Meg, Do
- 2:13Speaker 1: I have ever called you Meg? Literally? Never starry one
- 2:17Speaker 1: of Megan's favorites, Brooke, Do youor say ah? Only my
- 2:21Speaker 1: mom calls me that? Really yeah, Meg? Sometimes my dad,
- 2:25Speaker 1: well it doesn't sound like that when she says oh,
- 2:28Speaker 1: which she's angry. Does she call you me Catherine? She's kidding?
- 2:35Speaker 1: Uh No, She doesn't really get mad. Actually, Hei, when
- 2:39Speaker 1: you were younger. Yeah, sure, I was a pain in
- 2:42Speaker 1: the ass when I was younger, but I don't think
- 2:45Speaker 1: I had a she didn't like middle name me when
- 2:48Speaker 1: I was in your trouble, you know, Yeah, gotcha. Will
- 2:53Speaker 1: Kemp stars as a Rego. Hallmark fans last saw him
- 2:55Speaker 1: in My Sweet Austrian Holiday, and they'll have another chance
- 2:57Speaker 1: to see him this October as part of the Hallmark
- 3:00Speaker 1: Christmas Cruise lineup. I'm curious which of our listeners is
- 3:04Speaker 1: going on the cruise. The cruise is so not on
- 3:08Speaker 1: my radar this year. It will be once our feeds
- 3:12Speaker 1: are flooded with I know, social content, I'll be sad
- 3:16Speaker 1: that we didn't go. Maybe I'll be sad that we
- 3:19Speaker 1: I'll have fomo for sure. Really, of course, same like
- 3:24Speaker 1: programming every year, though at this point this is year three.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Sure doesn't mean I don't want to be part of it. Yeah,
- 3:32Speaker 1: I hear you. Tory DeVito stars as Ginny Hamewark fans
- 3:36Speaker 1: last sar her in twenty twenty threes. Loves Greek to me,
- 3:40Speaker 1: and many will also recognize her from her longtime role
- 3:43Speaker 1: as doctor Natalie Manning on Chicago med Yeah, she's great
- 3:48Speaker 1: in that. Oh nice. Anybody, what is your first impression
- 3:52Speaker 1: of Toast to Italy? Well, it's not a Will Kemp
- 3:56Speaker 1: movie until somebody finds a reason for him to dance. Oh.
- 4:02Speaker 1: My first impression is add collarbones to chairs and zippers
- 4:05Speaker 1: in the unlikely sexy category, right, I mean that was
- 4:11Speaker 1: That was like the steamiest part of the whole for sure.
- 4:14Speaker 1: But I had so many I had so many issues
- 4:17Speaker 1: not with that scene, but the context around that scene.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Why are you measuring for address that is for a
- 4:24Speaker 1: wedding five days? Sure, don't even get me started. Okay,
- 4:29Speaker 1: do you want to jump into the likes I do? Okay,
- 4:32Speaker 1: go ahead. I think it's obvious or at least uh
- 4:35Speaker 1: oh oh that The real love story here is not
- 4:39Speaker 1: between Jenny and Arigo. It's Jenny reconnectuicating with her Italian family. Okay, okay.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Did you not like this movie? No? I didn't really
- 4:48Speaker 1: like it. Okay, well, okay, out of the way. I
- 4:53Speaker 1: thought it was fine. I thought it was fine. Well,
- 4:56Speaker 1: if you'll recall our first impression, we said, or I said,
- 5:00Speaker 1: probably gonna be fine. Yeah, remember we ranked it, and
- 5:03Speaker 1: I can't did this come a third for me or
- 5:06Speaker 1: second for me? Do you remember? I think this was
- 5:09Speaker 1: second for me. I think it might have been third
- 5:11Speaker 1: for you. I can't wait to see how the rest
- 5:14Speaker 1: of birthday three week months. But you know what, this
- 5:17Speaker 1: this movie benefits from the pleasure pain principle in that
- 5:21Speaker 1: we're coming right off of Christmas in July, which was
- 5:25Speaker 1: largely bad. Oh, so this is masterpiece theater in comparison.
- 5:30Speaker 1: You know, it's like when you're in pain and the
- 5:33Speaker 1: pain dissipates, the lack of pain feels like pleasure. It's
- 5:37Speaker 1: the same thing this has. It benefits from that Christmas
- 5:41Speaker 1: in July comparison. This is why I think the IMDb
- 5:44Speaker 1: reviews are or there. The ratings are pretty stink and
- 5:47Speaker 1: high for this movie, like in the sevenths. Yeah, would
- 5:51Speaker 1: you consider this a seven plus movie? No? But I
- 5:55Speaker 1: think it's also early. I think it's only been two days,
- 5:58Speaker 1: so I'm curious, like where those numbers land after a month,
- 6:02Speaker 1: you know, like where we shake out. I just thought
- 6:04Speaker 1: the family scenes were the scenes that got me. I
- 6:06Speaker 1: thought there was a lot of warmth in those scenes.
- 6:09Speaker 1: I thought the casting was done really beautifully. Those characters
- 6:13Speaker 1: did not feel like, oh, let's go meet Auntie, this
- 6:16Speaker 1: and so and so. They were lovely people that I
- 6:19Speaker 1: was genuinely interested in seeing on my screen, and that
- 6:24Speaker 1: was the part of the movie that I liked the most.
- 6:27Speaker 1: I would agree this is your life wrapped in a
- 6:32Speaker 1: wish Here what I Ginny had no idea about her
- 6:36Speaker 1: family history, which I found a little bit maybe unbelievable,
- 6:43Speaker 1: or not even unbelievable because she's only let's see, it's
- 6:48Speaker 1: her grandfather, right, I don't know. I just thought there
- 6:51Speaker 1: would be she would have a better understanding of like
- 6:55Speaker 1: who her family was in their history and legacy in
- 6:59Speaker 1: this town. And I was just kind of surprised by
- 7:02Speaker 1: all of that, Like she was learning at the same
- 7:05Speaker 1: time we were learning. So that kind of made it
- 7:10Speaker 1: hard for me to care a little bit. I don't know, Yeah, Like,
- 7:15Speaker 1: if you're so close to your grandparents and their love
- 7:17Speaker 1: story is so meaningful, how did you not know anything
- 7:19Speaker 1: about all of these people exactly? But the way they
- 7:22Speaker 1: told the story, it did make it seem like the
- 7:24Speaker 1: grandparents had left these people behind, Like it wasn't like
- 7:28Speaker 1: the grandparents, you know, these people were all so excited
- 7:31Speaker 1: to meet her because it was a connection to the
- 7:33Speaker 1: grandparents who they didn't really have in their lives once
- 7:36Speaker 1: they left Italy. So maybe it's just that they moved home,
- 7:40Speaker 1: not moved home. They moved to the States, and then
- 7:43Speaker 1: they established this life and it was just like onward
- 7:45Speaker 1: and upward, and they weren't really looking back, with the
- 7:48Speaker 1: exception of this very particular wine. Okay, I don't know, No, don't,
- 7:54Speaker 1: I don't know it. You're that's fair. These are fair points.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Can we talk about Will Campantrerio? Yeah? Please? I liked them.
- 8:03Speaker 1: I knew, like, of course Will Camp is going to
- 8:05Speaker 1: get like a lot of people are going to be
- 8:07Speaker 1: very excited for him. I do, guys, this is like
- 8:11Speaker 1: likes and wishes all together. I do think he was
- 8:14Speaker 1: a little hallmarkified in this. I just want to see
- 8:17Speaker 1: him a little more like rougher looking, I guess, not
- 8:20Speaker 1: so clean cut. Tor de Vito is great. I think
- 8:24Speaker 1: she's adorable, mature, like she's a She should be in
- 8:29Speaker 1: more movies. I know she's busy on her Chicago med
- 8:32Speaker 1: She's not on that anymore. Oh. I did look on
- 8:34Speaker 1: her Instagram. She like has a toddler, so maybe she's
- 8:38Speaker 1: just very busy. I thought she was great too, I
- 8:40Speaker 1: thought she and Will were a really nice pairing. It's
- 8:43Speaker 1: been three years since we've had her on Hallmark, and
- 8:46Speaker 1: maybe that's by choice and maybe it's not. I in
- 8:48Speaker 1: our first impression was worried that this was going to
- 8:50Speaker 1: be like a little boring and buttoned up. And I
- 8:52Speaker 1: do think I don't think she's boring, but I do
- 8:55Speaker 1: think she's like kind of by the book and buttoned
- 8:57Speaker 1: up and let's get things done. But it wasn't in
- 8:59Speaker 1: an off putting sort of way. She just was put
- 9:02Speaker 1: together and on screen she was very compelling to watch. Yeah,
- 9:06Speaker 1: I agree, this was Sewan Italy, right. Yeah, it was beautiful,
- 9:12Speaker 1: so beautiful, but I have oh my gosh, I know
- 9:16Speaker 1: I sound like a negative Melly right now. Guys, we
- 9:20Speaker 1: have talked about this before, like when the setting becomes
- 9:24Speaker 1: like the co Star, Yes, I don't love it, because yes,
- 9:29Speaker 1: it's beautiful and nice to look at, and it does
- 9:34Speaker 1: set the vibe, like you know, she's overlooking, like the
- 9:37Speaker 1: vineyards and the whatever, and all that stuff does lead
- 9:41Speaker 1: into the story and I like all that. But you
- 9:44Speaker 1: don't want your characters to be competing with the view. Yeah, exactly,
- 9:48Speaker 1: like I don't want our story to be like competing, sure,
- 9:53Speaker 1: because that's to me, like where it falls short is
- 9:56Speaker 1: like the story feels super unbelievable to me, absolutely, but
- 10:03Speaker 1: I'm going to get there. Well, I want to talk
- 10:05Speaker 1: about the dialogue. I loved the pacing of the dialogue
- 10:07Speaker 1: in this movie, and I've talked about this in other reviews,
- 10:11Speaker 1: but I realized relatively recently what it is. It's not
- 10:16Speaker 1: just the pacing of the dialogue and the writing. It's
- 10:19Speaker 1: also the editing that I like. And the editing here
- 10:21Speaker 1: was a very snappy back and forth. And there's been
- 10:24Speaker 1: a lot of older Hallmark movies on in my home
- 10:27Speaker 1: courtesy of my husband, and it's very clear to me
- 10:31Speaker 1: it's probably a combination of directorial and editorial style because
- 10:36Speaker 1: some and I don't know where this comes down to
- 10:39Speaker 1: directors and editors, like there's a little room in between
- 10:44Speaker 1: the back and forth. I don't like that. I want
- 10:47Speaker 1: like a quick, snappy the dialogue moves. It keeps me engaged,
- 10:51Speaker 1: and this had that. Also it had some real fresh writing.
- 10:54Speaker 1: I mean, we get and now she's on hinge. I
- 10:56Speaker 1: laughed out loud, Yeah, me too, thought it was so funny.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I thought that was so funny. You know, coming soon
- 11:03Speaker 1: to News and Notes, we're gonna talk about who edited
- 11:07Speaker 1: the movie, So we won't, guys, I promise honestly, nobody cares,
- 11:13Speaker 1: but I do. I would be interested to look and see.
- 11:16Speaker 1: What I think happens is that directors have editors they
- 11:19Speaker 1: like to work with, and so it probably we probably
- 11:22Speaker 1: would see a lot of repeats in terms of who
- 11:25Speaker 1: the directors are and who their editors are. That would
- 11:27Speaker 1: be interesting to us and only us, totally. Do you
- 11:30Speaker 1: have any more likes? I think we bout covered it. Well,
- 11:34Speaker 1: let's take a quick break and come back with our wishes. Wendy,
- 11:45Speaker 1: I'm gonna let you take the lead on this one.
- 11:47Speaker 1: I certainly have wishes. But first, biggest one is she
- 11:52Speaker 1: runs off to Italy five days before this wedding. It
- 11:57Speaker 1: feels more believable if it's like five weeks before the wedding.
- 12:00Speaker 1: She's like in search for this wine. To me, it's
- 12:04Speaker 1: kind of like she's got to break it to the
- 12:07Speaker 1: sister who's getting married, like we're gonna have a nice
- 12:11Speaker 1: bottle of cab instead of this family love wine. Sorry,
- 12:16Speaker 1: and maybe we go on a trip to Italy and
- 12:18Speaker 1: we try and find this for you at some point
- 12:21Speaker 1: in the future, like that would be a fun family
- 12:23Speaker 1: event or a first anniversary gift. But you, Wendy, who's
- 12:28Speaker 1: no stranger to flight delays, like leaving on an international
- 12:31Speaker 1: trip five days before a wedding, you wight not make
- 12:33Speaker 1: it back. Yeah, you know. That's one of my biggest
- 12:36Speaker 1: travel nightmares. So now I'm traveling tomorrow. Wendy's like, what
- 12:39Speaker 1: if you don't get back in time. I'm like, well,
- 12:40Speaker 1: we're just We're just flying by to say there are pans.
- 12:45Speaker 1: I mean, sometimes it's all you got to do, like
- 12:47Speaker 1: you crazy, you crazy girl. But nothing that I have
- 12:51Speaker 1: going on is that important that I can't miss it.
- 12:54Speaker 1: It stressed me out too, And as a person who's
- 12:57Speaker 1: had a wedding, and clearly this was not just like
- 12:59Speaker 1: a oh up and having a family affair in the backyard,
- 13:01Speaker 1: there would have been a vent fleeting up to the wedding,
- 13:03Speaker 1: and as a bridesmaid, she would have been very involved
- 13:06Speaker 1: in that. So now she's trading missing all of that
- 13:09Speaker 1: rehearsal dinner and bridesmaid brunch or whatever they're doing for
- 13:13Speaker 1: chasing down this bottle of wine, which quite frankly, it's
- 13:17Speaker 1: five days before why did we not think about this,
- 13:20Speaker 1: Like we thought we were gonna dig it out of
- 13:22Speaker 1: a box in the attic. Okay, this is gonna lead
- 13:25Speaker 1: into my next wish. They dig out this bottle of
- 13:28Speaker 1: wine out of some box in the attic. Were they
- 13:31Speaker 1: planning to drink out of that bottle of wine? I
- 13:35Speaker 1: mean that certainly it doesn't strike me as proper wine storage. Right,
- 13:40Speaker 1: it's gonna taste like dust, It's gonna taste like vinegar.
- 13:44Speaker 1: But this is what I don't understand, Like did they
- 13:46Speaker 1: say like I'm pretty sure they're like, oh, it's broken
- 13:49Speaker 1: or it's empty or yes, right, so like did it leak?
- 13:54Speaker 1: Did they put away an empty bottle of wine? What's happening?
- 13:57Speaker 1: This is where I got fully hung up up from
- 14:01Speaker 1: the jump. I was like they were planning on serving
- 14:04Speaker 1: that at least to like there, to the groom and bride.
- 14:09Speaker 1: I just thought that was really weird. And then when
- 14:14Speaker 1: they're in Italy and she misses out on the auction
- 14:19Speaker 1: or whatever first fault, why didn't she just why didn't
- 14:24Speaker 1: she just talk to the guy who bought the wine.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I know he was like a collector or whatever, but
- 14:29Speaker 1: he is human too. I mean that would to me
- 14:33Speaker 1: make the next logical step instead of like, yeah, play
- 14:37Speaker 1: on his emotions, running all over the countryside looking for
- 14:41Speaker 1: maybe there's one more, and then they find maybe that
- 14:45Speaker 1: one more that the guy's holding on to. I just like,
- 14:49Speaker 1: is if this, if this wine is so important or
- 14:54Speaker 1: so special? I don't know anything about anything. This doesn't
- 15:00Speaker 1: come from trader jokes, guys don't. I don't know anything
- 15:03Speaker 1: about wine. But there's got to be some sort of
- 15:06Speaker 1: like proper storage for something so special. And he just like, oh,
- 15:11Speaker 1: let me go, let me go, grab it out of
- 15:12Speaker 1: my kitchen. And then a rego at the end is
- 15:16Speaker 1: swing it around at the option. Well, first of all,
- 15:20Speaker 1: they find it on a bar shelf, give me a break.
- 15:23Speaker 1: It's also good about that's also not proper wine storage,
- 15:28Speaker 1: Like you wouldn't just store it in a if you know,
- 15:30Speaker 1: it'd be some sort of temperature control situation. Honestly, I'm
- 15:35Speaker 1: sitting here the entire time we're talking, and I'm thinking
- 15:36Speaker 1: about what's the fix, because I the thing that I
- 15:39Speaker 1: disliked the most was them pulling that wine out of
- 15:42Speaker 1: that dusty box, and it was so unclear to me,
- 15:45Speaker 1: Like you said, is this was this their plan, like
- 15:47Speaker 1: get this box of wine out of the hot attic
- 15:50Speaker 1: and serve that. I almost think the story would have
- 15:53Speaker 1: been better served for them having like, no, this is
- 15:56Speaker 1: we've been storing it appropriately and they take it out
- 15:59Speaker 1: and they drop it right. Yeah, at least that makes
- 16:01Speaker 1: more sense. Yes, they had a plan, because Toriy DeVito's character, Jenny,
- 16:08Speaker 1: had her act together like she's a radiologist, she's a doctor.
- 16:12Speaker 1: She's clearly she knows what she's doing, she's organized, and
- 16:16Speaker 1: she had no plan for this at all. Doesn't seem
- 16:20Speaker 1: to track. Uh gree, here's my next wish. These two
- 16:27Speaker 1: fall madly in love with each other over what is
- 16:30Speaker 1: maybe thirty six hours. Yeah it's not many many days.
- 16:34Speaker 1: I mean I get we get a lot a lot
- 16:37Speaker 1: of them doing all the fun stuff together. But I
- 16:39Speaker 1: have to side with the sister here in terms of
- 16:42Speaker 1: calling him like vacation love or vacation pens. Yeah, you're like,
- 16:48Speaker 1: in this heightened sense, you're on this adventure. You're having
- 16:50Speaker 1: all these like great conversations, and you're getting along so well,
- 16:55Speaker 1: and he's handsome and you're beautiful and whatever. Of course,
- 16:59Speaker 1: none of your real responsibilities are there. It's like the
- 17:01Speaker 1: bachelor or love Island or you know, it's not the
- 17:04Speaker 1: real world, right, And while they don't say like I'm
- 17:07Speaker 1: falling in love, it's leading. It's I'm falling for her. Okay, okay, fine, fine,
- 17:14Speaker 1: how about I like her? Yeah, I don't want to
- 17:18Speaker 1: railroad you with all my wishes, but I have a few. Okay,
- 17:21Speaker 1: let's go. The plot here leans really heavily on the
- 17:25Speaker 1: repetitive take of let's go get the wine. Oh, the
- 17:28Speaker 1: wine's not here. Let's go get the wine. Oh not here. Again.
- 17:32Speaker 1: It just was like changing the location and the conflict
- 17:36Speaker 1: and just felt like a little bit like a wild
- 17:39Speaker 1: goose chase. And I found it frustrating to watch. Yeah,
- 17:43Speaker 1: I agree with you. I also found it frustrating as well.
- 17:49Speaker 1: We get our tired misunderstanding there. Yeah, boo, tomato, tomato,
- 17:56Speaker 1: we don't eat it. It isn't the actual conflict ends
- 18:00Speaker 1: the relationship. But nevertheless, didn't need it, hated it. It's
- 18:04Speaker 1: not coming a mile away totally. And this what's so
- 18:08Speaker 1: funny is because she's trying to use like essentially Google
- 18:12Speaker 1: Translate to translate something she's looking at, but like hits
- 18:17Speaker 1: the microphone button on accident, and then it picks up
- 18:19Speaker 1: his conversation and it's like half of a Google translated conversation, right,
- 18:25Speaker 1: uh huh, And she's watching it unfold. I'm like, is
- 18:29Speaker 1: there any moment where she's like, oh, this is picking
- 18:33Speaker 1: up his conversation. Maybe I shouldn't be listening to it. Yeah,
- 18:37Speaker 1: good point. But instead she's pod of what she hears.
- 18:43Speaker 1: You know, she feels like he's you know, duping her
- 18:45Speaker 1: or whatever. Yeah it was. I just was so irritated
- 18:49Speaker 1: by the whole thing. And my last wish is I've
- 18:52Speaker 1: had just about enough of the now we just need
- 18:54Speaker 1: to find someone for you. Nonsense, because repeat after me,
- 18:58Speaker 1: being single is not a moral thing, right, I agree?
- 19:02Speaker 1: Two great wishes. No, hey, let's talk to you. Just
- 19:05Speaker 1: see that. Oh right, Mine are just two complaints. I
- 19:08Speaker 1: don't have actual Like did you see that continuity? Continuity?
- 19:13Speaker 1: Is that the word? It is? Continuity issues? Nothing like that,
- 19:16Speaker 1: except except they did when they were on the trail.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Oh oh wait, I have one when she was like
- 19:23Speaker 1: asleep on the train. Yeah, he was in the other scene,
- 19:26Speaker 1: he's like looking at her. I was like, no, no, no, no,
- 19:30Speaker 1: my daughter took a picture of me asleep on an airplane.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Oh and It's the most horrifying picture I've ever seen
- 19:35Speaker 1: in my life. Yeah, there's no way you're looking beautiful
- 19:39Speaker 1: like as you're resting your eyes on this train. There's
- 19:42Speaker 1: no way. Honestly, when I wake up on an airplane, like,
- 19:45Speaker 1: I look around to see who can see me, because
- 19:47Speaker 1: I know that I looked ridiculous. You've been drooling. My
- 19:52Speaker 1: mouth kings open when I sleep on a plane. I
- 19:54Speaker 1: hate it so much. Yep, yep. And there was another
- 19:58Speaker 1: train scene, whoa you could see like the fake green screen,
- 20:04Speaker 1: oh background was like not real? Was there a train
- 20:08Speaker 1: scene that bothered you? There was a train station scene.
- 20:10Speaker 1: And I need to preface this by saying, I've been
- 20:12Speaker 1: extremely irritable lately, and I'm not sure why. I think
- 20:15Speaker 1: it's the weather, but I was irritated because in the
- 20:19Speaker 1: train station, they're standing between the two trains and they're
- 20:23Speaker 1: like bantering, bickering back and forth about coffee. They're standing
- 20:27Speaker 1: dead center of a narrow walkway and you can see
- 20:29Speaker 1: multiple people have to squeeze around them, get out of
- 20:33Speaker 1: the way. Have this conversation somewhere else here are my
- 20:38Speaker 1: other two did you see that moments? Just a petty
- 20:42Speaker 1: complaint corner if I may. Jenny was supposed to only
- 20:45Speaker 1: be there for like one day for the auction. She
- 20:49Speaker 1: had all these like handbags. I'm real cute, but she
- 20:53Speaker 1: had like a different handbag for every outfit, and she
- 20:56Speaker 1: had all these great outfits. Where did they all come from?
- 20:58Speaker 1: If she was just supposed to be their one great question?
- 21:02Speaker 1: That was annoying. Also, we talked about it in our
- 21:05Speaker 1: first impression because we were like, Okay, is a Rego British?
- 21:10Speaker 1: Is he Italian? What's happening here? I like that we
- 21:14Speaker 1: get Will Camp in his like natural form, right, Yeah,
- 21:18Speaker 1: but what came first was the script that way, So
- 21:21Speaker 1: then they're like, we gotta hire a British guy? Or
- 21:25Speaker 1: did they hire Will Camp and say, let's just make
- 21:27Speaker 1: this adjustment in the script that he's British but he
- 21:31Speaker 1: has like Italian roots or whatever. Yeah, Honestly, I feel
- 21:34Speaker 1: like it could have gone either way, but it seems
- 21:37Speaker 1: more likely that they adjusted it to fit the actor
- 21:41Speaker 1: so too, because they specifically had to call it out. Yeah.
- 21:46Speaker 1: My only last did you see that is I'm a jerk,
- 21:49Speaker 1: but I don't think balloons are a wedding decoration. And
- 21:52Speaker 1: there's big balloon bouquets behind the bride and groom. I
- 21:58Speaker 1: just think they're cheap and they fill a space. I
- 22:00Speaker 1: had the same thought in my favorite all time movie,
- 22:03Speaker 1: My Best Friend's Wedding. There's a scene at the wedding
- 22:06Speaker 1: where they're outside on a tennis court filling hundreds and
- 22:08Speaker 1: hundreds and hundreds of balloons, and I just thought, this
- 22:11Speaker 1: is like the wedding of the year in Chicago, and
- 22:15Speaker 1: balloons are our decorp I don't think so. I don't
- 22:17Speaker 1: think you're going to go into a wedding and actually
- 22:19Speaker 1: see balloons. I have two Digitsu thats to add to
- 22:22Speaker 1: this that were brought by viewers. One came in via
- 22:28Speaker 1: an email and it has to do with Jenny visiting
- 22:31Speaker 1: the church and lighting a candle. This is from Mary,
- 22:36Speaker 1: who says, hi, ladies, as a Catholic who often lights
- 22:39Speaker 1: candles and churches when traveling, I place a donation in
- 22:41Speaker 1: the box first in tost to Italy. Jenny lights when
- 22:44Speaker 1: and leaves bad form. Oh. Another thing that was posted
- 22:47Speaker 1: in our Girls Go on Hallmark Facebook group about this
- 22:50Speaker 1: movie was many people were shocked that Jenny takes the
- 22:57Speaker 1: coffee from a Rigo early on, because they're like that's
- 23:01Speaker 1: how you get rooffeed. Oh and I just the thought
- 23:05Speaker 1: didn't even cross my mind. Yeah, if it was a bar,
- 23:09Speaker 1: maybe I would have thought about it, but not like
- 23:11Speaker 1: a coffee, you know. And I guess budget constraints apparently
- 23:16Speaker 1: fill the space starting out have a budget for flowers. Yep. Yeah.
- 23:22Speaker 1: What did you rate a toast to Italy? I'm scared
- 23:25Speaker 1: two point seven five stars? May give it three point five.
