- 1:27When God calls, we say yes.
- 1:32Hello, and welcome to another episode of the Arise Women of God podcast.
- 1:37I'm your host, Tamara K.
- 1:38Andersen, and joining me today is my co founder, Wendy Christiansen, who happens to be a licensed clinical social worker with over 30 years of experience.
- 1:48And I'm glad to have her here as we're tackling this perplexing question, how to win spiritual warfare because it is possible.
- 1:56And.
- 1:56And who doesn't love winning?
- 1:59So far in this podcast series on spiritual warfare, we have mapped out a deep defensive arsenal.
- 2:06We have learned that to win, we must first know our divine identity, aggressively recognize the footprints of the adversary when he is attacking, vocally cast out the adversary in the name of Jesus, call down heavenly angels for backup,
- 2:21and escalate our efforts through fasting and prayer when facing deep spiritual adversarial strongholds.
- 2:29But to secure a permanent win, you have to understand what happens the exact second the adversary departs.
- 2:36If you leave the battlefield empty, you haven't actually won the war.
- 2:40You've just created an open invitation for a secondary ambush.
- 2:44Wendy is now going to explain why winning requires us to aggressively fill that empty space before the adversary tries to reclaim the territory.
- 2:56You have to remember when you get rid of something negative, and this is anything that you're getting rid of negative.
- 3:01If I'm going to get rid of a bad habit, I need to Replace it with a good, positive thing, right?
- 3:06I need to replace with a good.
- 3:08A positive habit if I'm going to get rid of smoking.
- 3:10A smoker will chew gum because they need to keep themselves busy.
- 3:16So it's the same thing with spiritual warfare.
- 3:18If I'm getting rid of negative stuff, I need to replace with positive stuff because it kind of creates this vacuum effect right after casting out something negative.
- 3:27So if I cast out a negative tool, negative spirit, negative influence, I like to name it for what it is.
- 3:34I cast out the spirit of overwhelm, of anxiety, of not feeling enough.
- 3:38So calling it for exact, the spirit of depression, anxiety.
- 3:42So once I cast that out, I want to fill the void.
- 3:45And filling the void with light is the best thing.
- 3:49You can do that in lots of different ways.
- 3:51I can fill that void by saying, and I fill it with light.
- 3:55And often I'll ask for angels.
- 3:56I ask for angels to protect and to shield me or my family, my home, and fill that void with light or whatever needs to happen to help it.
- 4:06So just directly asking, and then you want to invite more around you to fill that space so you could ground yourself, take some deep breaths, center yourself, do some worship.
- 4:18Music.
- 4:18I love music.
- 4:19Music brings the spirit more powerfully, I think, than anything else.
- 4:23Way more powerfully than words.
- 4:26So bringing in that music.
- 4:28In fact, I was talking to my son.
- 4:30He's at a.
- 4:30He's at a church camp this week.
- 4:32And I was talking to him last night, and he said, mom, I was playing the piano for everyone.
- 4:38And we felt the spirit so strongly.
- 4:40He was playing hymns.
- 4:42He's like, the spirit came so strongly.
- 4:44He goes, I was just bawling afterwards because it was so powerful and so strong and thought, I am so proud of you for recognizing and bringing the spirit in so strongly for all these.
- 4:55This huge group of teenage boys that are just hanging out.
- 4:59And they were all feeling the spirit because he was playing the hymns on the piano.
- 5:02It was so beautiful and so wonderful.
- 5:04And I thought, that's such a great way to bring that.
- 5:06To fill that void that might have been created.
- 5:10Filling that void with light is active recovery time.
- 5:14And Wendy is now going to share the exact clinical tools a mother can implement to instantly shift her brain chemistry.
- 5:23And anchor her household in joy, even vocalizing positive affirmations.
- 5:29Satan doesn't want you to think highly and positively of yourself.
- 5:32So if you're sitting there going, I am a beautiful, beloved daughter of God who loves me.
- 5:37I have the ability to create happiness around me or gratitude.
- 5:41I always have every Time somebody comes to see me right before they leave, I always have them name off three things they're grateful for, because I know the power of gratitude and how it changes the chemistry in your
- 5:54brain and in your mind.
- 5:56And so I love it when they sit there, and I love it, too, when they think deeply about what they're grateful for.
- 6:02Some of my favorite ones are.
- 6:03I'm so grateful for the beautiful sunrise that I got to see this morning, because it showed that God was in my life and he saw me and he recognized me.
- 6:11Like, even the simplest thing in gratitude can bring so much light and power back into your life.
- 6:18So just stop and reflect whatever brings you joy, what brings you light into your life, it.
- 6:24That can be what fills the void.
- 6:26Maybe it's physical exercise.
- 6:27Maybe it's going for a run or a walk that brings that joy to your life.
- 6:32Maybe it's creating something.
- 6:34Maybe you go and bake something in your kitchen because you get to create something so you bring in that joy.
- 6:40Maybe it's going and dancing.
- 6:42There are times where I'll turn the music that worship music on and I'll just dance like, no, nobody's watching.
- 6:47And that will bring light into my life and fill the void that's been created.
- 6:52Because whenever you get rid of something negative, you almost need a recovery time, right?
- 6:58And it's.
- 6:59This is your recovery time.
- 7:00Immediately bring in something that's going to replace that negative with light.
- 7:06So what brings light into your life?
- 7:09Think about it for a minute.
- 7:11Write it down.
- 7:12What are three of the top things that bring light into your life?
- 7:15And then I would challenge you to use those whenever you get rid of that spiritual warfare, bring that light back in and use those things that bless your life and the family, your family around you.
- 7:27So, my friend, once you have filled your personal space with light, you have to secure the perimeter of your home using two foundational military principles from the Old Testament.
- 7:38The first is the principle of unbending, refusal to negotiate.
- 7:43This is found in Nehemiah, chapter 6, verses 1 through 4.
- 7:47Nehemiah was successful in rebuilding the broken walls of Jerusalem.
- 7:51So the enemy leaders realized they could not distract him by force.
- 7:56Instead, they tried to use distraction, sending messengers four times a day to try to drag him down to a village on the plains of Ono.
- 8:05Nehemiah sent back an unyielding, legendary answer.
- 8:09I am carrying on a great work and cannot come down.
- 8:12Why should the work stop while I leave and go down to you?
- 8:16To win at spiritual warfare, you need to develop that exact holy, stubbornness when the enemy tries to pull you down into pointless arguments, social media distractions, or loops of self doubt, you declare, I am doing a great work
- 8:32in my home and I am not coming down to your level.
- 8:36The second military tactics strategy I wanted to share is the principle of total transparency found in Joshua, chapter 7.
- 8:46The Israelite army suffered a staggering defeat at the tiny city of AI because a soldier named Achan secretly stole a Babylonian robe and bars of silver, burying them and hiding them inside his tent.
- 9:01That one hidden thing paralyzed the entire camp.
- 9:05When we must perform spiritual housekeeping in our own tents, we have to run an honest audit of our home, bringing hidden secrets, unhealthy media, toxic habit or resentment into the open light.
- 9:20Bringing hidden things into the light completely strips the adversary of his leverage over you and your home and your children.
- 9:29Wende is now going to share what it looks like to stand as an active warrior.
- 9:35So there are these beautiful tools that we have to help us to identify when we're being attacked, know how to fight back.
- 9:45And not only just fight back, but bring our homes into a place where they really are these beautiful beacons of light.
- 9:52And our kids and us, we're armed, we're ready, and we know how to defend and be on God's side.
- 9:57And we really become warriors of him and for him and for our families.
- 10:03Well, my friends, you don't win spiritual warfare by simply playing defense and hoping the enemy gets tired.
- 10:10You win by casting him out aggressively, filling the void with the light of Jesus Christ, refusing to negotiate with the adversary's distractions, and keeping a clean, transparent perimeter.
- 10:24You are the guardian of your home and through Christ, the victory is already yours.
- 10:30To hand you the complete step by step master strategy for this spiritual warfare series, we want to give you our manual, a Mother's Spiritual Defense Guide.
