- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Alright, good morning, guys.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: If you don't know me, my name is Rick.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: Hope I get to know you.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: Alright, I'm going to get into this.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: We're doing, you know, we've been talking everything we've been talking about is rethink.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: And I guess just about everything could be, or maybe should be, rethink.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: You know, Jesus' first message that he began to preach, and it seemed like he continued preaching it, was rethink, because the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: And uh that's always a good thing, it means you're growing.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, it makes me think of there's an old story.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: Well, it's not a story, it's actually a joke, so I'll just tell you up front.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: It's a joke, so don't believe that it actually happened.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: Maybe you'll figure it out as we go along.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: But there's an old old joke that that uh a man becomes a Christian, and one of the first things he's told in churches is now that you're now that you're born again, saved, you're bought by the blood, you're in the in the church, says the next step is to get your mind renewed.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: You need a new mind.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: So he goes down to the local store where you get these new Christian minds.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: See, it's not a real story, you can tell.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: And and uh so he goes to the store owner and says, Hey, I'm just I'm a new Christian.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: He says, he says, I want I want that new mind, and uh how can you help me?
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: He says, Well, we've got different kinds of minds.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: He says, It depends on what you want, what you want to spend, what you're looking for.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: He says, now over here, he says, this is our our our our uh this shelf over here.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: We said we've got some good ecumenical uh brains, we've got Presbyterian Episcopals and Methodists we have over here on the on the end there.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: He says, five dollars.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: He says, but they're disciplined, they're trained, they're educated, they'll do you a good job.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: And he said, now I don't know how much you want to spend, but but for twice that much, for ten dollars, we've got these good fundamentalist brains over here, like Baptists and so on.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: He says, uh, they cost more, but uh you'll always be right.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: You never have to worry about that.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: And then he says, he's he then the guy says, Well, what about those over there?
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: And he says, Oh, those are$100.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: He says, uh, he says, these are our modern American evangelical brains.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: You say, Well, why do they cost so much?
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: He says, Well, they've never been used.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: And my point of that is it's really easy, it's really easy I guess it's really easy to offend everybody with a joke like that, right?
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: Um, it's really easy to just swallow things that get uh passed to us without thinking or rethinking.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: And it's a good thing to rethink anything.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: It's a good thing to have the information.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: And I want to I want to have fun with with a particular uh uh area in the in the in the Bible that I've been looking at lately.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: And it speaks of, it's gonna be fun because I think many of us will will look at something in a different way here, but it's very, very good and bright news.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: One thing, um, it's it's not really a message about eschatology in the end times, although it does touch on that a lot.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: It there it is, it does have a lot of that in it.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: Um, but it's really a message about our union with God.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: And I want to jump right into this, beginning in Matthew chapter 5, um, verse 17, we see a question that the this verse poses a question.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: And Jesus said, Do not think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: I did not come to destroy, but to fulfill.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: For assuredly I say to you, watch this, till heaven and earth pass away, not one jot or tittle will by any means pass from the law until all is fulfilled, until heaven and earth pass away.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: Uh over there in uh Matthew chapter, and we don't have to uh I just want to quote it in Matthew uh chapter uh twenty four, verse thirty uh five, Jesus said, Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: So he says, Heaven and earth will pass away.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: Now immediately what we think of is like, okay, well, that's the end of the world.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's coming.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: When it is, I don't know.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: You know, maybe it's soon.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: Uh and then he says, what we read in the beginning in verse 18, he says, Certainly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law until all is fulfilled.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: And so uh what he's saying there, what it looks like he's saying there is that this law must continue to be fulfilled.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: This law will not pass away until heaven and earth pass away.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: And if that really be the case, then we're we need to be doing all the stuff, right?
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: We need to be doing the sacrifices, we need to be keeping the Sabbath in that way that they did there.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: We need to be doing so many things, purification laws and all these things, because what it looks like is that heaven and earth have they're still here.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: They've not passed away.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: So why did he say that?
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: And what was he talking about?
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: So I'll give you the answer right up the front, and then we'll look at it and talk about it.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: Is anybody familiar with the fact, actually, that in that time, in those people, in that culture, that the very temple standing was actually called heaven and earth.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: It signified heaven and earth.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: It was the place, in their minds and in the language, it was a place where heaven and earth met.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: It was a place where God dwelt, the holy of holies, and where man dwelt.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: And there was a veil in between.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: But it was, it was literally called heaven and earth.
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: It was spoken of.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: So when Jesus says this, they know what he's talking about.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: They're not thinking that the world, the planet, is about to blow up or be destroyed, or and there's going to be no more heaven either.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: Heaven and earth.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: And uh so if we look at Psalms chapter 78, verse 69, it says that God built his sanctuary like the heights or the heavens, and like the earth which he has established forever.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: Um, a reference to history from uh a historian that lived in the time, very famous one named uh Josephus, Flavius Josephus.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: He wrote in his writings, The Antiquities of the Jews, in uh book 3, verse 181, he said, now when Moses distinguished the tabernacle into three parts, and he allowed two of them to the priests, which was outer court and uh inner court or sanctuary, as a place that's accessible and common.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: He denoted the land and the sea.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: And so that's another thing, too, that you would read if you if you read in the history and you read of the culture and and how and what they thought about it and how they talked about it, that they actually would even call the outer court, uh, or they would say it symbolized the sea, and then that inner court symbolized the earth.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: He says, he denoted the land and the sea, these being of general access to all, but he set apart the third division, the holy of holies, for God, because heaven is inaccessible to man.
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: So this heaven and earth, if you will, had a separation, had a veil there.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: It was symbolized.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: It was there in the tabernacle.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: Um, we remember when when God told Moses to build that tabernacle in the desert, which is the same pattern as the temple, he said, See to it that you build it according to the pattern that I have showed you.
- 7:55SPEAKER_00: Hebrews also says that that was a pattern and not the real thing, but it was a pattern of the real thing that exists in heaven.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: But this one had a veil.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: And that veil speaks of that separation between God and man.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: And we know separation is a big deal in our Christian thought and our uh Christian doctrine a lot, that man is separated, man is separated.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: I was so happy to find out at one point how what the Bible uh says specifically about our separation, how it says that we were alienated and separated from God in our minds because of the wicked works.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: In other words, because of sin, because of bad deeds, because of our poor performance.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: Uh what have we heard?
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: We've heard from the very beginning, many of us, that we were separated because of our bad deeds.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: And uh, but but as you your eyes open up and you look and you become more literate with the with the scriptures, you realize that from the very beginning, we do see a separation.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: We do see Adam separate from God or pull away from God or hide from God, but we don't see God pulling away from him.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: And we see, and when Jesus comes along, he comes and reveals to us a father that pursues, a father that runs to the Son, a father that loves, a father that so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, a father that never stopped loving, for he said in Jeremiah, I have loved you with an everlasting love.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: So we don't see, when we look at the separation, we don't see the separation on the father's side.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: What we see the separation is how in our minds we are separated.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: And we also know, if we've been around for a while, we know that what one thing Jesus did in all of his work, his life, his teachings, his death and his resurrection, uhcension to everything about it, speaks no separation, removes any idea of separation, even though we may still do some bad works.
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: There's no separation or condemnation in Christ.
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: And we see, and we we see that in him.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: So what is this veil of separation then?
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: I pointed out before that that when you, you know, that literal veil of the temple, it was embroidered with with these cherubim or cherubs.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: And, you know, people we just think of them as just angels, but they're specific beings, really.
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: And and when you just look it up in a simple concordance, which you will, one of the definitions that you'll find, any, you can just look it up in any simple concordance, that that you'll find that that a cherub is called an imaginary being.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: Now, whether whether there's actual real cherubs or maybe, maybe not, but but one of the the meanings of that word when they would speak that word is an imaginary being.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: Well, what did Paul say that the weapons of our warfare are and what do they do?
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: Well, he said they're not carnal, but they're mighty through God, to the pulling down of strongholds, casting down imaginations.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: That veil, we're separated from God, alienated in our minds because of wicked works.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: Well, Adam ate of the tree.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: Adam looked at his nakedness, Adam was ashamed, Adam was afraid, Adam hid.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: And religion ever since then has been what?
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: Has been trying to fight to come up with ways to make a connection with God, whether it's right or ritual or behavior or something.
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: Sacrifices.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: Trying to make some kind of connection or reconnection when Jesus makes the connection, makes the reconciliation, and what happens when Jesus dies on the cross?
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: That veil is torn from top to bottom.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: And that was the beginning of what Jesus was talking about, about heaven and earth actually passing away.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: Hebrews chapter 9 talks about this.
- 12:05SPEAKER_00: And it says, the Holy Spirit was indicating that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: So everything about that first tabernacle or that temple spoke of a heaven and earth that was divided or separated from each other.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: And I love the fact that when Jesus died, that veil, which could, among other things, symbolize the imaginations of the flesh.
- 12:38SPEAKER_00: In fact, Hebrews does say, uh mention in one verse, how Jesus went, how he pierced the veil, uh he went beyond the veil, which is to say his flesh.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: And he became like man and is touched by the feeling of all of our weaknesses.
- 12:55SPEAKER_00: But in his life and in his death and everything else he did, we see a veil split wide open.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: And that was the beginning of a of heaven and earth, or that temple, if you will, passing away, because some years later it actually would, just like he said.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: Hebrews chapter 8, verse 13 says this.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: When God speaks of a new covenant, it means that he has made the first one obsolete.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: It is now out of date and it will soon disappear.
- 13:28SPEAKER_00: So there's that temple standing.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: At the time this is written.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: But he says it's going to disappear.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: He says it's out of date.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: That it's obsolete, out of date.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: Because Jesus did his work, and what really is the temple of God?
- 13:43SPEAKER_00: Know ye not that you are the temple of God and God dwells in you?
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: So what we're saying about this temple is that it's you is where heaven and earth meet.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: This is where God and man meet.
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: This is where you, right?
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: Where you're at.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: This is there is where there's no separation between you and God.
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: And Jesus reveals all of that to us.
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: Don't you love that he came, that he came in all of his teaching, it was revealing a loving father to us?
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: I love his parables, the prodigal son, the lost coin, the the lost sheep, all that stuff, telling us that God is better than we thought he was.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: That he's the father who runs to the lost son while he's a long way off, that he's the one who searches the whole house until he finds the coin and rejoices and throws a party when he finds it, for he came to seek and save that which was lost.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: We see it in his teachings, we see it in his actions.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: Every sinner that he came into contact with, everyone that was a known or notorious sinner, he comes with to him with grace and love, saying, I do not condemn you.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: We see it in all of that.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: He shows no separation.
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: Look at what he did.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: What did he do with women in the day?
- 15:05SPEAKER_00: He says, Come on over here.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: You don't have to stay in just the women's court.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: Come on over here and be healed.
- 15:09SPEAKER_00: He takes down the walls of the barriers and petitions.
- 15:13SPEAKER_00: There's no separation in him.
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: That's why Paul said, in him, there's no male or female, Jew or Greek, bond or free.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: There's none of that stuff because all the divisions, separations between us and between God are gone.
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: And we are in union and we are one with God forever, evermore.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: And the old heaven and earth, that old temple, no longer stands today, but the temple does stand and forever will stand, and forever you will not only be in the house of the Lord forever, but you'll be the house of the Lord, God in you and God in him.
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: You can't get any more together, any more union than that.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: There is no veil, it's ripped from head to toe, it's and it comes down.
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: Where is that separation?
- 15:59SPEAKER_00: You can know you can still be a Christian and still have a separation.
- 16:03SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: You can still be you can be a Christian.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: Have had the born-again experience, conversion, whatever you want to call it.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: You have you have you have changed your life or your life has been changed.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: But yet you can still have a separation mentality with God, right?
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: How many Christians do I deal with that that are that are going through a hard time because God feels far away to them?
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: They say it doesn't seem like God's with me.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: It doesn't seem like God cares.
- 16:32SPEAKER_00: I don't know if he hears my prayers.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: What is that?
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: That's a separation mentality.
- 16:38SPEAKER_00: And the good news takes away all that.
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: When we talk about renewing the mind, renewing the mind in this way is one thing that you see happening is you see less and less of any kind of separation until you become fully persuaded, as the Bible says, that nothing can separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: Not height, net, principality, power, things to pre things present, things to come.
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: Nothing.
- 17:10SPEAKER_00: If I'm in peril, nakedness, sword, nothing.
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: Isaiah 65 told of the heaven and earth being destroyed.
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: Or at least making a new one.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: Isaiah 65, 17 says that God speak and says, For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: And the former things will not be remembered or come to mind, but be glad and rejoice forever in what I create.
- 17:38SPEAKER_00: For behold, I create Jerusalem for rejoicing, and her people for gladness.
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: I create new heavens and new earth.
- 17:47SPEAKER_00: Well there again, you know, our mind immediately goes to something like a destruction of everything.
- 17:56SPEAKER_00: And then, you know, like a whole new creation.
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: But in context here, we're actually talking about a changing of the day, a changing of really the religion, I guess if you want to say that.
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: Because, you know, when when Jesus was, about the time Jesus came, you know, they were looking for the Messiah, weren't they?
- 18:18SPEAKER_00: They were expecting a Christ.
- 18:19SPEAKER_00: In fact, there were some that came before him that they thought, well, maybe this is the one to follow.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: And he would sort of lead them into a ditch and they'd all get slaughtered, and sometimes their leader would get killed, or sometimes their leader would just would just run and lead them to get killed.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: And their messiahs, their Christs, were always the kind that were leading them militarily or politically against Rome.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: Now here comes Jesus coming in about this time when they're expecting the messianic age to begin.
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: They're expecting the Messiah, the Christ.
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: And they've got reasons for it that I don't have time to get into, but but they've got the prophet Daniel who told them about the 69 weeks and then the 70th week, and I mean it's right here in this time.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: That's one reason they all knew that it was coming, like any any time now.
- 19:08SPEAKER_00: And they were looking for Christ's Messiahs, if you will.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: Those that didn't never did believe in him, even after his death and resurrection, uh, were still looking for the Christ after him, and followed some other people too, to their own destruction, actually.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: But that's what they were looking for.
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: And they believed, they were, they, they, they understood that when the Christ, the Messiah, came, that he would bring in a new age, a messianic age, and it would be the end of that age.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: Which was essentially, it was the Mosaic age.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: The age of the, you know, we know it now as the age of the law.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: Um, Matthew 24, Jesus says some things about this in verse 1.
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and his disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple.
- 19:58SPEAKER_00: Herod's temple, when you read about it, it seems like it was massive and grand.
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: And Jesus said to them, Do you see all these things?
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: Certainly I say to you that not one stone shall be left here upon another and shall not be thrown down.
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: Here they are bragging on the beauty of the temple, and he said, This is all going to come down.
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: In verse 3, it says, as he I want to read this part, it says, As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, Well, when will these things be?
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: What will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: Three questions.
- 20:36SPEAKER_00: All he tells them is that this temple here, every stone's coming down.
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: So they asked three questions.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: Well, when will it happen?
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: When will what happen?
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: But he just said, when will these things be?
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: When will the temple come down?
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: Number one.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: Second question was, what will be the sign of your coming?
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: Me talk about rethinking.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: You want to think about something here?
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: So we read this and we think of it in modern 21st century American terms.
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: And so when we read this, what will be the sign of your coming?
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: We assume that they're asking about when are you gonna come split the eastern sky and come and take us all or whatever.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: You know.
- 21:21SPEAKER_00: They didn't even know he was leaving, they didn't even know he's gonna die.
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: In fact, when he tried to tell them that he was gonna die, they said, No way, we're never gonna let that happen.
- 21:31SPEAKER_00: They weren't, they didn't have this whole doctrine of, yes, Jesus is gonna go to the cross and he's gonna raise from the dead, and then he's gonna be there for 40 days, then he's gonna ascend to the Father and he's gonna send the Spirit, but then thousands of years later, he's gonna come back.
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: They don't think that.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: They don't see that kind of Messiah.
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: So what were they asking?
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: When will be the sign of your coming?
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: Your parasia, your your when will you have your when will your showing be?
- 21:59SPEAKER_00: When will you appear?
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Because we believe you're the Christ.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: But you ain't letting anybody know yet.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: You're not doing the stuff yet.
- 22:08SPEAKER_00: Oh, you're healing people.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: We got the power.
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: We know that.
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: But when do we march against Rome?
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: When do we make Israel great again?
- 22:15SPEAKER_00: Come on, put the red hat on.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: Let's do it.
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: That's what they're looking for.
- 22:23SPEAKER_00: We know you're it.
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: When are you going to take your throne?
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: When are you going to take your place?
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: And what will be the sign of the end of the age?
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: When will the temple come down?
- 22:38SPEAKER_00: When will you show up?
- 22:40SPEAKER_00: And when will be the end of the age?
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: King James says, world.
- 22:46SPEAKER_00: The age.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: That's what they were looking for.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: They weren't expecting the planet to be destroyed anytime.
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: But they were expecting an age to end and a new one to begin.
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: So, and I'm not going to get into the rest of this chapter, but he starts telling them.
- 23:02SPEAKER_00: He answers their questions, says, These are the things that are going to come.
- 23:06SPEAKER_00: And what he describes to them essentially is how it's going to happen and how the armies are going to surround.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: And when you see that happen, because they're going to come and they're going to destroy this thing.
- 23:15SPEAKER_00: They're going to destroy Jerusalem, they're going to destroy the temple.
- 23:18SPEAKER_00: And when you see these signs come and flee.
- 23:21SPEAKER_00: Run to the mountains.
- 23:24SPEAKER_00: Now that tells you right there, he wasn't talking about the end of the planet because running to the mountains ain't going to save you.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: If it's the end of the planet, right?
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: But he says, but he tells them of that.
- 23:36SPEAKER_00: And then all the way down there in verse 34 of the same chapter, he says, Certainly I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away until all these things take place.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away.
- 23:52SPEAKER_00: This was a big deal to them.
- 23:54SPEAKER_00: You're saying this temple, heaven and earth, will not stand.
- 24:00SPEAKER_00: And he says, This generation won't pass away until all they take place.
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: And if you don't know it, it did happen.
- 24:06SPEAKER_00: Within that generation, within 40 years, all the things that Jesus said in chapter 24, they actually did happen.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: And the temple was destroyed, and it was destroyed.
- 24:21SPEAKER_00: It fell with a great noise.
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: They burned everything that could burn.
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: Even the elements of the temple were desecrated, defiled.
- 24:29SPEAKER_00: Many of them were melted in the fire, but some of them actually, the Roman general Titus, is who it was, he actually took certain elements from the temple and took them back to Rome.
- 24:39SPEAKER_00: And to this day, you can go to Rome, and there is a monument called the Arch of Titus that was erected just a couple of years after Titus destroyed the city.
- 24:47SPEAKER_00: And that monument still stands there in stone.
- 24:50SPEAKER_00: And it has a, it has an you know what engraved upon it is the figure Titus leading a captivity captive, if you will, leading a procession of prisoners, and and having the golden candlestick, menorah, if you were, the golden candlestick from the temple.
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: It's right there in Rome.
- 25:08SPEAKER_00: Titus, it happened.
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: Just like Jesus said it would.
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: And like the scriptures say, that as long as that first temple was still standing, then those things were still being enforced.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: Still having sacrifice, still having all that, all those things that speak of separation, because the Bible says that with the blood of those bulls and goats, it could never purge the conscience of those that gave it.
- 25:36SPEAKER_00: Well, yeah, legally, so there's an atonement.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: I'm good for a year.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: But just walking away from that, it never purges the conscience.
- 25:44SPEAKER_00: And Jesus wanted to purge the conscience.
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: Jesus wanted there to be no condemnation.
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: Jesus wanted there to be no separation.
- 25:53SPEAKER_00: Jesus said, Father, I pray that they would be one, like we are one, one with us, as we are one.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: And this was the whole thing.
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: It was all about.
- 26:03SPEAKER_00: You know that Jesus came to make reconciliation.
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: Jesus came for the restoration of all things, according to Acts chapter 3.
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: And he came with that ministry of reconciliation.
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: And what needed to happen?
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: Something needed to happen, not for to God.
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: We say that a lot around here.
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: He didn't come to change God's mind, did he?
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: Because it was God's mind that wanted to do this in the first place.
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: He came to change our mind.
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: He came to break down the wall.
- 26:38SPEAKER_00: He came to cast down imaginations and every thought, every high thing that was exalted against the knowledge of God or knowing God, that veil.
- 26:49SPEAKER_00: What's the Bible say that when the heart turns to the Lord, the veil is removed?
- 26:56SPEAKER_00: Just turns to the Lord, just looks.
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: Beholds the glory or the goodness of God.
- 27:03SPEAKER_00: And what happens?
- 27:04SPEAKER_00: We're changed.
- 27:05SPEAKER_00: Have any of you been changed by the goodness of God?
- 27:08SPEAKER_00: Have any of you been changed by the truth?
- 27:10SPEAKER_00: Any of you been changed by the revelation of Jesus Christ?
- 27:13SPEAKER_00: It's the most wonderful, beautiful thing that could happen to a human.
- 27:17SPEAKER_00: It's happening to me.
- 27:18SPEAKER_00: It's been happening for a while, and it's been happening to you too.
- 27:22SPEAKER_00: And in all of our walk, what's happening to us?
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: We keep beholding more of the beauty of the Lord, more of the glory of the Lord.
- 27:31SPEAKER_00: You know why?
- 27:32SPEAKER_00: Because we're not the Old Testament people.
- 27:34SPEAKER_00: We're not in that old age of people like David, even though he was passionate, even though he was a man that was after God's own heart.
- 27:43SPEAKER_00: But he would cry out and talk with language of separation, saying, My soul thirsts for you as in a dry and a thirsty land.
- 27:52SPEAKER_00: As the deer pants for the water brook, so does my soul long after you, O Lord.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: That's that's that's that's very strong passion and desire, which is good, but it's also separation.
- 28:05SPEAKER_00: One thing, he said, have I desired of the Lord, and that will I seek after.
- 28:10SPEAKER_00: I desire and I seek.
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: That's still separation.
- 28:15SPEAKER_00: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life.
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: To behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire daily in his temple.
- 28:24SPEAKER_00: That's what he wanted.
- 28:25SPEAKER_00: Now he had experiences with God like many people did, but you know what he wanted?
- 28:30SPEAKER_00: He wanted the everyday presence.
- 28:31SPEAKER_00: He wanted the everyday union, he wanted that closeness.
- 28:34SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 28:35SPEAKER_00: Because that's the human heart.
- 28:36SPEAKER_00: The human heart has always hungered and thirsted for the fullness that only God can bring.
- 28:42SPEAKER_00: They don't all know that it's God that does that.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: Especially if they've been exposed to a lot of the religion, the, you know, that tells them about an angry God or a hateful God or a vengeful God or a punitive God.
- 28:57SPEAKER_00: You know, many people they they look at that and they're just like, I don't even want to think about that.
- 29:01SPEAKER_00: But they're still hungry, they're still thirsty, they're still made, just like a bird is made to fly.
- 29:09SPEAKER_00: They're still made to enjoy and to receive the goodness and the abundance and the fullness of God.
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: That's why why we were created in the first place.
- 29:21SPEAKER_00: Love did that.
- 29:22SPEAKER_00: Love created us, He did.
- 29:26SPEAKER_00: And so the heart, that's why the heart seeks so many things.
- 29:29SPEAKER_00: That's why there's this thing called lust, desire, hunger, thirst.
- 29:33SPEAKER_00: And Jesus comes along and he says, If you drink my water, you won't thirst anymore.
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: If you'll eat my bread, you'll never hunger again.
- 29:43SPEAKER_00: Come to me.
- 29:44SPEAKER_00: You'll find rest for your soul.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: Your search will be over, your quest will be over.
- 29:49SPEAKER_00: Fullness will fill your heart.
- 29:52SPEAKER_00: You'll come home.
- 29:54SPEAKER_00: Jesus came to bring us home.
- 29:57SPEAKER_00: One thing have I desired, David said.
- 29:59SPEAKER_00: That I may dwell in that house so to behold your beauty, so I can inquire daily.
- 30:04SPEAKER_00: And what Jesus does is takes down the wall of separation.
- 30:11SPEAKER_00: And in this new temple, in this real temple of God, this everlasting temple of God, look at it.
- 30:18SPEAKER_00: There's no veil here.
- 30:21SPEAKER_00: There's no veil in your life.
- 30:24SPEAKER_00: I don't care if you kicked the dog and yelled at your family all the way to church today.
- 30:29SPEAKER_00: The veil never went back up.
- 30:31SPEAKER_00: There is no veil.
- 30:33SPEAKER_00: The veil is removed in Christ or in the revelation of Jesus Christ.
- 30:40SPEAKER_00: You'll never be separated.
- 30:41SPEAKER_00: Nothing can separate you from the love of God.
- 30:43SPEAKER_00: You know what that means in your everyday life?
- 30:45SPEAKER_00: Because that's what I care about.
- 30:48SPEAKER_00: I want us to be able to have no barrier, no separation, so we can behold the beauty of the Lord and then can inquire every day.
- 30:58SPEAKER_00: To behold the beauty of the Lord and inquire every day because you're home.
- 31:04SPEAKER_00: And that means in your everyday life that you always have access because there's tribulation in this world.
- 31:10SPEAKER_00: It's temporary, but it's tip, but there's tribulation.
- 31:14SPEAKER_00: And we don't make light of it because sometimes it hurts, sometimes it's hard.
- 31:18SPEAKER_00: But God's with you.
- 31:21SPEAKER_00: Jesus was going to the cross.
- 31:22SPEAKER_00: He said, You're all going to leave me tonight, but I won't be alone.
- 31:27SPEAKER_00: So you always have access.
- 31:29SPEAKER_00: You always have a father, you always have a comforter, you always have an advocate, you always have a counselor, you always have wisdom, you always have access to that which the Spirit in you, God in you, brings to you, a peace that passes understanding and a joy that's unspeakable and full of glory and a love that goes beyond our thoughts or imaginations.
- 31:49SPEAKER_00: And we always have that.
- 31:51SPEAKER_00: And so when you when when when the separation mentality leaves, you know how that helps your everyday existence.
- 31:57SPEAKER_00: And right here is that when trouble comes, you will have immediate access and you immediately partake or you turn to the Lord.
- 32:11SPEAKER_00: The longer I'm I'm in this, the quicker the help seems to come.
- 32:17SPEAKER_00: The more easy it's accessed.
- 32:19SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 32:19SPEAKER_00: Because my mind has been being renewed and I'm and the separation mentality, I don't, you know, I know I've got a lot to learn, but thank God I don't have that mentality that I once had.
- 32:32SPEAKER_00: I don't ever, I don't know that I ever have a conscious thought that God's not with me.
- 32:38SPEAKER_00: I was thinking about it this morning.
- 32:39SPEAKER_00: It's it's so real.
- 32:41SPEAKER_00: God so feels like he's so much with me.
- 32:44SPEAKER_00: And and look at, and and and that don't mean anything about that.
- 32:46SPEAKER_00: I'm still stupid.
- 32:47SPEAKER_00: I still mess up, I still make mistakes.
- 32:50SPEAKER_00: Thank God God's with me.
- 32:53SPEAKER_00: He's with the stupid.
- 32:57SPEAKER_00: The one that can mess up, I can mess up so bad it's clownish sometimes.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: But God's with me.
- 33:01SPEAKER_00: Man, I can dig that.
- 33:02SPEAKER_00: That's called grace.
- 33:04SPEAKER_00: That's called love.
- 33:05SPEAKER_00: That's called goodness, that's called union.
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: But having that everyday access is a once and for all.
- 33:14SPEAKER_00: That's a heaven-on-earth thing to me.
- 33:18SPEAKER_00: And my heart is, I want everybody to have this.
- 33:20SPEAKER_00: I don't care, I'm not, I don't want everybody just to think the doctrine I think for the sake of thinking my doctrine.
- 33:29SPEAKER_00: I want you to do good tomorrow.
- 33:32SPEAKER_00: I want you to, I want you happy, I want you peaceful, I want you feel in love, I want you, I that's what I want for everybody.
- 33:40SPEAKER_00: I like you guys.
- 33:42SPEAKER_00: And that's a that's a miracle itself, right?
- 33:48SPEAKER_00: Because that wasn't a truth.
- 33:49SPEAKER_00: But see how these changes happen?
- 33:51SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: Because God's with us.
- 33:54SPEAKER_00: They don't happen unless God's with us.
- 33:56SPEAKER_00: And and and did the separation happen because of anything that we did?
- 34:03SPEAKER_00: And did the union happen because of anything we did?
- 34:07SPEAKER_00: Maybe that's the question I should ask.
- 34:08SPEAKER_00: The union?
- 34:09SPEAKER_00: Or was it because of something Jesus did, and because of what he did?
- 34:16SPEAKER_00: He said, the Holy Spirit will teach you these things.
- 34:20SPEAKER_00: He will take my glory, he'll show it to you, or my goodness, he'll show it to you.
- 34:25SPEAKER_00: Told his disciples, I got many things to tell you, but I but you don't get it right now.
- 34:28SPEAKER_00: But the Holy Spirit, he's going to reveal this stuff to you.
- 34:31SPEAKER_00: And what's happening to us is God in us, the Spirit of God Himself, who is the creator, is revealing to us the goodness and the glory and the power of what Jesus did.
- 34:47SPEAKER_00: And what that means for us.
- 34:50SPEAKER_00: And how many of you are seeing that you have come home or you can see yourself coming to this place of home.
- 35:02SPEAKER_00: You either feel like you're there, or you can see the possibility of seeing that, believing that.
- 35:14SPEAKER_00: 2 Peter chapter 3, verse 10, Jesus was uh, excuse me, Peter was talking about that which was coming.
- 35:23SPEAKER_00: And in the Old Testament, this day of destruction, if you go back and read it, it's called the day of the Lord.
- 35:28SPEAKER_00: But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief.
- 35:32SPEAKER_00: Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire.
- 35:39SPEAKER_00: And they did.
- 35:40SPEAKER_00: And the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment.
- 35:46SPEAKER_00: God said it for many years by the prophets that this was coming.
- 35:51SPEAKER_00: He said it by all, he said it, he said it through Daniel, he said it through Malachi, he said it through Isaiah, Jeremiah, he said that this day was coming again and again and again.
- 36:05SPEAKER_00: Verse 11.
- 36:06SPEAKER_00: It said, Therefore, since all of these things will be dissolved, what manner of person should you be in holy conduct and godliness?
- 36:12SPEAKER_00: Looking for and hastening the coming of that day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat.
- 36:21SPEAKER_00: Nevertheless, we, according to his promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
- 36:43SPEAKER_00: It is finished.
- 36:45SPEAKER_00: Oh, there are still good things ahead.
- 36:48SPEAKER_00: Better things.
- 36:49SPEAKER_00: It does get gooder and gooder.
- 36:54SPEAKER_00: Unto the fullness of it.
- 36:55SPEAKER_00: I mean, you can read about the heart, the plan of God, about his eternal purpose, that he would gather all things together in him, all things in heaven and in earth together.
- 37:11SPEAKER_00: But we're not looking, I'm not looking.
- 37:14SPEAKER_00: Yay, yay, let's build another temple in Jerusalem so we can offer sacrifices and all that stuff.
- 37:19SPEAKER_00: And I don't know, unless you're in the mark of the beast or whatever they want to do, I don't know.
- 37:24SPEAKER_00: I'm not looking for another.
- 37:26SPEAKER_00: This is the new the heaven and earth, this is the temple where God dwells, where righteousness dwells, and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
- 37:38SPEAKER_00: You know, to this day, because this happened, the the religion of the Jews is nothing like it once was, because from that time, because of Jesus.
- 37:51SPEAKER_00: See, because of Jesus, we don't do animal sacrifice, we don't do the priesthood, the priestly duties, we don't do temple worship like they did in that.
- 38:00SPEAKER_00: We don't do any of that.
- 38:01SPEAKER_00: We're Christians.
- 38:03SPEAKER_00: Well, the Jewish religion doesn't do that either.
- 38:06SPEAKER_00: They don't do a sacrifice, they don't have the priesthood, they don't do the do the rites of priesthood, they don't do temple worship, they don't do any of those things.
- 38:13SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 38:14SPEAKER_00: Because of the same reason, because of Jesus.
- 38:19SPEAKER_00: That's the way it'll be.
- 38:22SPEAKER_00: Finally, I just want to read this.
- 38:25SPEAKER_00: And this was the vision that John saw in Revelation 21.
- 38:29SPEAKER_00: He said, Now I saw a new heaven, a new earth, no veil.
- 38:35SPEAKER_00: Because the first heaven and earth had passed away, and also there was no more seed.
- 38:41SPEAKER_00: Verse 3 said, And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he'll dwell with them, and they'll be his people.
- 38:53SPEAKER_00: And God himself will be with them and be their God.
- 39:00SPEAKER_00: Verse 5 it says, And then he that sat on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.
- 39:07SPEAKER_00: And he said, Right, for these words are true and faithful.
- 39:13SPEAKER_00: Would you stand with me?
- 39:14SPEAKER_00: I would like to pray.
- 39:29SPEAKER_00: You're in perfect union with God.
- 39:33SPEAKER_00: All because of who God is.
- 39:36SPEAKER_00: What we're experiencing, what we're beholding, what we're opening our heart to, what we're believing is simply God's love for us, for mankind.
- 39:49SPEAKER_00: Father, I don't even know what to say, but thank you, thank you, thank you.
- 39:56SPEAKER_00: Thank you for your great love, thank you, Father, for your great goodness, thank you, Father, for the spirit of revelation and knowing you, and thank you for your blessing on everyone here.
- 40:04SPEAKER_00: And my prayer is that as we go about our life in these temporal situations that we live in and dwell in, whether we stumble and fall, whether we just deal with the hard thing, we shall fear no evil because you are with us.
- 40:26SPEAKER_00: And we shall ever be with you.
- 40:28SPEAKER_00: And we are in you and you are in us, and in this temple righteousness dwells.
- 40:33SPEAKER_00: And in this temple is where the river flows.
- 40:51SPEAKER_00: And if the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead by that love and commitment dwells in us, you'll even quicken these mortal bodies, that there's healing for the bodies, there's restoration for the bodies, there's life that flows because we're the temple, and the river flows from within that temple.
- 41:13SPEAKER_00: For God is with us, loving us from the inside, and I thank you, Father, for that love from the inside that you give us, the teaching from the inside.
- 41:22SPEAKER_00: We give you praise and we give you thanks this day for all that you are in us, for all of your glorious goodness, and for all that you are to us in Jesus' name.
