- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is Spoiling, covering
- 0:11Speaker 1: one piece episodes eight fifty six through eight fifty eight,
- 0:16Speaker 1: The Forbidden Secret, Kategory's Merienda, Lofy fights back the Invincible
- 0:22Speaker 1: katea Kory's weak point, and another crisis Gear four versus
- 0:28Speaker 1: Unstoppable Doughnuts. In this episode, remember how I said the
- 0:37Speaker 1: whole thing with Kate Kory needing a little snack break
- 0:40Speaker 1: was funny to me. I had no idea how funny
- 0:44Speaker 1: it was about to be. What a weird little guy.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Welcome to spoil me. Welcome to the show everyone. I
- 1:12Speaker 1: am Natasha. Thank you very much to Florian for commissioning
- 1:17Speaker 1: this episode. Uh I just cannot get over this. Guys,
- 1:24Speaker 1: So Category's secret is that he's like a secret binge eater.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Does it even count as binge eating when it's like
- 1:42Speaker 1: a limited number and you're so big, Like it's hard
- 1:47Speaker 1: for me to say what is an adequate serving size
- 1:52Speaker 1: for a guy like this? And when I think about
- 1:56Speaker 1: binge eating, I think about, you know, you take an
- 1:58Speaker 1: entire box donuts for example. However, despite the fact that
- 2:04Speaker 1: we only get the description of three different types of donuts,
- 2:07Speaker 1: it does look like, there's more than that here, And
- 2:11Speaker 1: I would say the fact that he has to do
- 2:13Speaker 1: it in secret, that he is so obsessive about it,
- 2:17Speaker 1: I think this really does fit the bill. And I
- 2:24Speaker 1: will say that I kind of appreciate this being a
- 2:28Speaker 1: thing for a character who isn't fat, and especially in
- 2:35Speaker 1: this like land of foods, you know this that there
- 2:40Speaker 1: is a character who deals with this. And the weird
- 2:43Speaker 1: thing about Category is that he has this like odd mouth.
- 2:49Speaker 1: The whole way he's designed as a character in costume
- 2:54Speaker 1: is that there's this cowl scarf looking it's not really scarf,
- 3:00Speaker 1: but it sort of has the effect of like a
- 3:03Speaker 1: scarf that has been wound around the neck down to
- 3:05Speaker 1: the shoulders, and it's got it covers up the lower
- 3:12Speaker 1: half of his face. And of course there are many
- 3:17Speaker 1: characters on this show who have like parts of their
- 3:22Speaker 1: faces hidden by their costume, and so I don't think
- 3:26Speaker 1: anything of that. I probably should begin to zero in
- 3:31Speaker 1: on that a little bit more, because like Pedro had
- 3:34Speaker 1: an eye covered up by his hair and it turned
- 3:37Speaker 1: out that he was missing that eye. So there are
- 3:40Speaker 1: definitely times where the way somebody is costumed actually has
- 3:46Speaker 1: something key to do with what's going on with him
- 3:49Speaker 1: as a person. But yeah, I just thought nothing of it.
- 3:52Speaker 1: And it turns out that he's hiding this mouth that
- 3:56Speaker 1: is like it's first of all, got very teeth, but secondly,
- 4:03Speaker 1: it's sort of weird because while he's eating the donuts
- 4:09Speaker 1: and singing to himself about the donuts, his chin is
- 4:14Speaker 1: big and round at the bottom in the way that
- 4:18Speaker 1: like a pelican's like chin and jaw are sort of
- 4:24Speaker 1: sack like, so it almost looks like he is able
- 4:29Speaker 1: to fit almost an entire donut in his mouth without
- 4:33Speaker 1: even having to chew it yet, and that it can
- 4:36Speaker 1: just like chill in his weird sack like mouth chin area.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I don't think that's really what's going on, And this
- 4:48Speaker 1: sack will go away, It's I guess pelicans can do
- 4:53Speaker 1: that too, can't they. They that sack is there when
- 4:56Speaker 1: they need it to be full of a bunch of
- 4:59Speaker 1: wino water and fish, but the skin will like shrink
- 5:04Speaker 1: back into place when there's nothing there. So he keeps
- 5:11Speaker 1: this like secret from everybody, and I don't I mean,
- 5:17Speaker 1: it's not just the snacking. It seems like people don't
- 5:22Speaker 1: actually know what he looks like, that he has this
- 5:27Speaker 1: mouth under there, which is interesting because I feel like
- 5:33Speaker 1: this is kind of an intimidating look that he could
- 5:36Speaker 1: use to his advantage. But I guess he's just undefeated
- 5:42Speaker 1: as is, So why does he need an additional thing
- 5:47Speaker 1: to intimidate people with? Hmm, yeah, I guess that's really
- 5:53Speaker 1: kind of overkill. But yeah, so I'm getting ahead of
- 5:57Speaker 1: myself obviously, But you know, I mean, I had to
- 5:59Speaker 1: talk about where this is going right away, but it
- 6:03Speaker 1: does take us a little while to actually get to
- 6:06Speaker 1: the reveal of what's going on with him, because we
- 6:09Speaker 1: open with Lufy had still been trapped under all of
- 6:13Speaker 1: that mochi and he is he had just said to
- 6:17Speaker 1: Lufy like, you made me late for my marienda, which
- 6:22Speaker 1: marianda is apparently like a It's a Portuguese, Spanish and
- 6:28Speaker 1: Italian thing that is similar to afternoon tea in like
- 6:35Speaker 1: the UK, where it's between lunch and dinner. Afternoon tea
- 6:42Speaker 1: is usually like around three or four o'clock, and marianda
- 6:47Speaker 1: is apparently later, around like five ish, which makes sense
- 6:50Speaker 1: because in Spain and Italy dinner is often quite late,
- 6:56Speaker 1: you know, like nine pm. So yeah, you would want
- 7:01Speaker 1: your snack a little bit further along, but it's the
- 7:05Speaker 1: same thing where you have like a beverage of some
- 7:08Speaker 1: kind oftent tea or coffee and a snack and it
- 7:13Speaker 1: can be like fruit, pastry, yogurt, you know whatever. And
- 7:19Speaker 1: this team of little he he yells out like butt
- 7:25Speaker 1: serrieres or whatever. I don't even know how you say it.
- 7:27Speaker 1: And it's these three little shifts that are evidently like
- 7:32Speaker 1: solely I don't know that it's like their job. The
- 7:38Speaker 1: only job that they have is making his merianda snack,
- 7:42Speaker 1: but it definitely is like a big part of their job.
- 7:47Speaker 1: And these three dudes know him well and are afraid
- 7:51Speaker 1: of him, of course, but also really really want to
- 7:56Speaker 1: like make him happy. And so we get this like montage.
- 8:01Speaker 1: They roll up, they've got this whole tea tray that
- 8:06Speaker 1: is loaded up with the teapot, the tray of donuts,
- 8:12Speaker 1: and they have the Yeah, I'm looking and seeing like
- 8:17Speaker 1: the basket looks like it's got at least like ten
- 8:21Speaker 1: donuts in it. So even though they only describe three,
- 8:26Speaker 1: there's definitely more going on. And so I think calling
- 8:29Speaker 1: him like a secret binge eater is fair. Once you
- 8:32Speaker 1: get over two or three donuts, I feel like you're
- 8:37Speaker 1: really getting into territory of like, yeah, that's starting to
- 8:40Speaker 1: not be great for you. And these are not just
- 8:44Speaker 1: like ordinary donuts. I mean, he is huge and much
- 8:48Speaker 1: bigger than these chefs. But even so, each donut is
- 8:52Speaker 1: about the size in proportion to category of a like
- 8:59Speaker 1: the kind of platter you'd use to serve a turkey on.
- 9:02Speaker 1: They're huge even in proportion to him. So this is
- 9:11Speaker 1: a very lot. This is much food. Seraphim says, great
- 9:18Speaker 1: bit is early on in the fight brew let oh yeah, this,
- 9:22Speaker 1: I'm gonna talk about this. I'm not even gonna read
- 9:23Speaker 1: Serafim's whole comment because there's another thing that happens that
- 9:27Speaker 1: I think is extremely funny. But yeah, so he the
- 9:32Speaker 1: way that he behaves with this, where it's like every
- 9:35Speaker 1: day and he has to do it at the same
- 9:38Speaker 1: time he gets apparently like really fucking irritable if he
- 9:43Speaker 1: doesn't do it, and the way he hides it, and
- 9:47Speaker 1: how much he eats. All of this together definitely feels
- 9:51Speaker 1: like bro has an issue. He's got a food issue.
- 9:57Speaker 1: So they I have to tell him that since you
- 10:01Speaker 1: are forty minutes late for your snack, the tea has
- 10:05Speaker 1: grown cold. And they are literally sweating and trembling with
- 10:10Speaker 1: fear telling him this. But he says iced tea is fine,
- 10:14Speaker 1: which I think, of course, because the doughnuts are the thing.
- 10:18Speaker 1: He doesn't care about the tea. It's not about that,
- 10:21Speaker 1: you know. So anyway, this is when they start talking
- 10:26Speaker 1: about the doughnuts and what are in there? Let's see,
- 10:31Speaker 1: Oh my god. Each treat is made from the perfect ingredients.
- 10:36Speaker 1: We purchased the finest corioli cocow we could find on
- 10:39Speaker 1: the black market and combine it with milk from a
- 10:42Speaker 1: cow grazed on Sky Island whose life was free from
- 10:46Speaker 1: stress and woe. I love this that they're like, this
- 10:49Speaker 1: is not fair trade, but at the very least cruelty
- 10:55Speaker 1: free to to cow. For this one, we whipped the
- 10:58Speaker 1: highest grade cream, which we received fresh from the Great
- 11:02Speaker 1: Minister Opera himself. I am so sorry, but I could
- 11:08Speaker 1: never eat a treat made with cream that I knew
- 11:13Speaker 1: came from a person. I just couldn't. I just couldn't.
- 11:18Speaker 1: And I also do want to mention and this is
- 11:21Speaker 1: absolutely not a big deal, but I have to mention it. It
- 11:23Speaker 1: has been stated multiple times that the food that comes
- 11:31Speaker 1: from people who have these devil fruit abilities that our
- 11:35Speaker 1: food related is not tasty, So it's sort of weird
- 11:41Speaker 1: that it doesn't taste good, except like in this one
- 11:46Speaker 1: particular guy's case where this cream is supposed to be
- 11:50Speaker 1: like the best, and this is not the only time
- 11:53Speaker 1: this has been said about him specifically, so that's weird.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Like why is that the icing is meticulously decorated and
- 12:03Speaker 1: topped with a strawberry to make this masterpiece a feast
- 12:06Speaker 1: for the eyes before it becomes entombed within your grateful belly,
- 12:11Speaker 1: which is such a weird way to say that. Also, advice,
- 12:15Speaker 1: if you have a pastry like a donut with a
- 12:17Speaker 1: hole in the middle, don't put a bunch of whipped
- 12:21Speaker 1: cream and a strawberry in the middle where the hole is.
- 12:25Speaker 1: It's just not very practical, it's not smart. Why would
- 12:27Speaker 1: you do that. I saw this and I was just like,
- 12:29Speaker 1: come on, man, what is that? And then we have
- 12:32Speaker 1: also prepared a donut topped with a sugar flavor flavored
- 12:36Speaker 1: by Selish, flavored with ciliciodor, which brings out the spiciness
- 12:39Speaker 1: of the Maylon cinnamon baked into its dough. Along with
- 12:42Speaker 1: this and that and the other thing too. Of course,
- 12:46Speaker 1: So yeah, they present him with all of these snacks
- 12:50Speaker 1: and he holds his hand out and begins to make
- 12:54Speaker 1: these little balls of mochi. And I'm watching this like
- 12:58Speaker 1: what exactly is going off? And he starts talking about
- 13:02Speaker 1: how like depleted he is after that fight with Loofy,
- 13:05Speaker 1: that it went on for longer than he anticipated, and
- 13:07Speaker 1: that if he is going to go out there and
- 13:10Speaker 1: continue to fight, that he needs to get his strength
- 13:12Speaker 1: back up, and all as he says this, these little
- 13:16Speaker 1: balls of mochi are continuing to float around. And yeah,
- 13:22Speaker 1: especially that like he had to use hockey so much.
- 13:27Speaker 1: But if I intend to subdue his crew, I need
- 13:31Speaker 1: to take in a substantial amount of nourishment and the
- 13:37Speaker 1: sugar shall provide me with that power. Which this is fact.
- 13:43Speaker 1: You know, when you are doing a lot of intensive cardio,
- 13:47Speaker 1: you need carbohydrates. So I am not mad at it,
- 13:51Speaker 1: but I do think that probably this is all I'm
- 13:54Speaker 1: excuse because he's just a bit cheater. Saraphims says, have
- 13:59Speaker 1: you seen how much loufe the anime food rules means
- 14:01Speaker 1: there's always way more than you should be able to eat.
- 14:04Speaker 1: There's Yeah, I'm gonna talk about another thing. There later.
- 14:07Speaker 1: It would be more surprising if anyone growing up with
- 14:09Speaker 1: big mamas their mother didn't have food issues. It's not
- 14:12Speaker 1: a universal thing about any food related devil fruit, just
- 14:15Speaker 1: the chef guy's cook cook fruit. Well, Lufy says it here.
- 14:20Speaker 1: He eats his way by the way out of the Mochi,
- 14:23Speaker 1: and he says, do I I have to eat every
- 14:29Speaker 1: time I get in a fight. The food doesn't even
- 14:32Speaker 1: taste good. So the way that he said it made
- 14:35Speaker 1: it sound like frequently that has been the case. But
- 14:40Speaker 1: because like the cook cook fruit, I don't know if
- 14:44Speaker 1: he has encountered that specifically yet. He ate his way
- 14:48Speaker 1: out of the wedding cake, but that was cooked properly,
- 14:51Speaker 1: that was not made with an ability. But Seraphim says,
- 14:57Speaker 1: maybe he's just not a fan of mochi and the
- 15:00Speaker 1: biscuits were really, really soggy. Maybe so category what he's doing.
- 15:08Speaker 1: It turns out with all of this Mochi is building
- 15:14Speaker 1: himself a little private tea house out of Mochi to
- 15:19Speaker 1: go into to have some privacy. I can't help but
- 15:26Speaker 1: be jealous of the concept of somebody who can simply
- 15:30Speaker 1: build themselves a little room for time out whenever they
- 15:34Speaker 1: feel the need to get away from the folks around them.
- 15:37Speaker 1: That sounds so handy. There have been many times where
- 15:42Speaker 1: I have had to go to a bathroom and let
- 15:45Speaker 1: myself decompress from the anxiety of whatever social situation I
- 15:50Speaker 1: was in in the bathroom, So this would be great.
- 15:56Speaker 1: But yeah, it's like quite detailed. It's lovely, and he
- 16:01Speaker 1: disappears inside, and the chefs outside are like talking amongst
- 16:06Speaker 1: each other, and one of them says, he's as particular
- 16:08Speaker 1: as ever, and I was sort of like, I mean,
- 16:11Speaker 1: not really, he was fine with iced tea. Just wanted
- 16:16Speaker 1: to remind you, guys, how relieved you were that he
- 16:19Speaker 1: wasn't that particular. But you know, it's fine. And then
- 16:23Speaker 1: they start talking. This is great, they say. No one
- 16:27Speaker 1: has ever caught him in the act of eating. He's
- 16:30Speaker 1: ceaselessly vigilant and can't let his guard down even during
- 16:34Speaker 1: a snack. A pity, since the whole point of tea
- 16:37Speaker 1: time is to unwind with friends. But for him it's
- 16:40Speaker 1: a joyless act of nutritional intake and solemn meditation before
- 16:46Speaker 1: his next battle. I love this because you know, there
- 16:51Speaker 1: are times where this sort of talk telegraphs the joke
- 16:56Speaker 1: that's coming. But for whatever reason, it didn't telegraph for
- 17:01Speaker 1: me this time. I didn't see it coming what was
- 17:03Speaker 1: really going on. Everything that we have seen of who
- 17:07Speaker 1: Kategory is lines up with this assumption about what he's doing,
- 17:13Speaker 1: so I just never thought about it. Twice. So this
- 17:17Speaker 1: is when we see the mochi behind them, like bouncing around,
- 17:21Speaker 1: and then one of them turns and realizes that Lufy's
- 17:24Speaker 1: arm isn't sticking out from underneath it anymore, and all
- 17:27Speaker 1: of a sudden, Lufy is there and is fat from
- 17:32Speaker 1: having eaten his way out, and he takes off running,
- 17:40Speaker 1: and they think that he's running away, that he's like
- 17:44Speaker 1: using the fact that Kategory is distracted with his snack,
- 17:48Speaker 1: taking advantage of this and fleeing while the fleeing's good.
- 17:54Speaker 1: And then he turns around and he comes back, and
- 18:01Speaker 1: he was running so that he would lose the weight
- 18:05Speaker 1: from eating all of this mochi, which the chefs are like,
- 18:10Speaker 1: that's not how the human body works, and I was like, y'all,
- 18:13Speaker 1: I don't know how to tell you this. Nothing about
- 18:17Speaker 1: anything in this show is how the human body works.
- 18:23Speaker 1: There is no way that Lufi would have gotten fat
- 18:26Speaker 1: from eating mochi within five minutes either. But y'all were
- 18:31Speaker 1: fine with that. That's not anything, though, I don't know
- 18:37Speaker 1: why you're surprised. So Lufy is like, where's Kategori. They're
- 18:44Speaker 1: all just like, oh, he's gone, he's you know, there's nothing.
- 18:49Speaker 1: And then he sees this fucking house made of mochi
- 18:55Speaker 1: and is going very obviously he's over here. Guy is like,
- 19:00Speaker 1: see the house made out of the stuff that Category
- 19:04Speaker 1: makes with his devil fruit. I think I've got it
- 19:07Speaker 1: figured out. And then they try to be like, oh,
- 19:09Speaker 1: you can't intrude. This is a sacred time for him,
- 19:15Speaker 1: and Lufy is just like yeah, and he does the
- 19:21Speaker 1: gatling and busts this place up, and this is when
- 19:26Speaker 1: we get the reveal that Category is eating these donuts,
- 19:30Speaker 1: and not only is he eating them, but he's singing
- 19:32Speaker 1: a little song about how good donuts are, how much
- 19:38Speaker 1: he loves his donut eating time, how there's no judgment,
- 19:42Speaker 1: and how especially he's on his back eating donuts. That's
- 19:48Speaker 1: like actually a lyric according to the translation, and as
- 19:54Speaker 1: Saraham mentioned in the comments earlier, and I had meant
- 19:58Speaker 1: to mention this last episode because I actually found the
- 20:02Speaker 1: line really funny and I totally forgot, so I was
- 20:04Speaker 1: glad that it kind of comes back here as like
- 20:06Speaker 1: a joke. But Brulah had said that like Kategory has
- 20:12Speaker 1: never fallen down or even laid down or something like that,
- 20:17Speaker 1: he's downright disrespectful to the ground, which I think is
- 20:22Speaker 1: just such a funny way to fucking say that. And
- 20:27Speaker 1: so evidently he does lay down when he's eating his stonnuts.
- 20:34Speaker 1: I can't help but be like that feels very sad
- 20:42Speaker 1: that like he can't ever relax. I don't know, man,
- 20:48Speaker 1: I just hated this for him in a weird way.
- 20:51Speaker 1: I was just saddened by it. But uh, all that aside.
- 20:59Speaker 1: There's a point later where Loofy punches him and he
- 21:03Speaker 1: goes flying backward and he remembers her saying that he
- 21:09Speaker 1: never has fallen or laid down, and makes himself land
- 21:14Speaker 1: on the top of his head instead of his back,
- 21:19Speaker 1: so as to continue the theme of never falling down,
- 21:27Speaker 1: which was extremely funny to watch. The landing on his head.
- 21:31Speaker 1: What a weird like it's this weird backbend that he
- 21:34Speaker 1: has to do before coming back up, and it's very
- 21:37Speaker 1: much him sort of getting a hold of himself after
- 21:39Speaker 1: having gotten punched and being in complete shock over it.
- 21:44Speaker 1: So yeah, loufy interrupting him as he's eating, we get
- 21:48Speaker 1: to see his huge, weird chin and mouth, and I
- 21:55Speaker 1: really really felt bad for the chefs because they they
- 22:00Speaker 1: are immediately aware, oh, we weren't supposed to see all that,
- 22:06Speaker 1: and attempt to reassure him we aren't gonna say anything
- 22:12Speaker 1: to anybody, trust us. It's like as if it never happened.
- 22:18Speaker 1: We would never divulge your secret, and he just won't
- 22:23Speaker 1: hear it, and we see him swing and it. I
- 22:27Speaker 1: don't believe that it's gonna be that these chefs are
- 22:30Speaker 1: actually dead, but he definitely like knocks all these motherfuckers out,
- 22:35Speaker 1: And I felt really bad for them because they didn't
- 22:37Speaker 1: ask to be here. They didn't ask to see any
- 22:40Speaker 1: of this, you know what I'm saying, Like this was
- 22:43Speaker 1: not part of what they wanted in their day. And
- 22:48Speaker 1: I have to admit, even though they don't want to
- 22:52Speaker 1: see any of this, if I were him, I don't
- 22:55Speaker 1: think i'd trust that they would be able to keep
- 22:58Speaker 1: quiet about it, because this is some really hot goss,
- 23:01Speaker 1: you know, like Catechory, the guy who is so intense
- 23:06Speaker 1: and self serious is out here singing songs while he
- 23:11Speaker 1: gleefully chomps down all the donuts in like a kind
- 23:15Speaker 1: of fugue state.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Yeah, no, man, of.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Course they're gonna want to talk about this to somebody,
- 23:21Speaker 1: or at least to each other and then be overheard like, yeah,
- 23:25Speaker 1: he if he wants to keep the secret, I can
- 23:29Speaker 1: see that maybe this was the right call. I don't
- 23:32Speaker 1: like it, but I understand it, so anyway, So sorry
- 23:38Speaker 1: you guys, but it is just hilarious to me, this
- 23:42Speaker 1: whole thing. It's the way that he even says to Loofy,
- 23:49Speaker 1: nobody is allowed to see me. The way he says
- 23:55Speaker 1: it is truly very, very funny. It's a hell of
- 23:58Speaker 1: a delivery. So this is all happening in the very
- 24:02Speaker 1: first episode, and Loofy attempts to punch him and again
- 24:10Speaker 1: winds up sort of like failing to hit him. And
- 24:13Speaker 1: it's not until the second episode that we get a
- 24:16Speaker 1: flashback and find out what's going on here. But we
- 24:19Speaker 1: will get there in a second, because the first thing
- 24:21Speaker 1: that I want to talk about after this initial reveal
- 24:26Speaker 1: is something that I had forgotten to mention in the
- 24:28Speaker 1: previous episode, which is our previous group of episodes, which
- 24:33Speaker 1: is what's going on with the baking of the wedding cake.
- 24:37Speaker 1: For Big Mom, I take great issue you guys with
- 24:47Speaker 1: what all is going on here? So they run out
- 24:51Speaker 1: of butter, they're thirty grams short for perspective, thirty grams
- 25:01Speaker 1: is something like a couple tablespoons. I think it's really
- 25:06Speaker 1: not much, but despite this, Pudding's line actually is something
- 25:13Speaker 1: like thirty grams. May not seem like much, but Mom
- 25:18Speaker 1: will be able to tell, which makes the solution even
- 25:25Speaker 1: more egregious to me. The solution that Sanji proposes is
- 25:33Speaker 1: to replace the missing butter with a mixture of prunes
- 25:41Speaker 1: and baking powder and I think milk or water or something,
- 25:46Speaker 1: and he says it's fewer calories. In case you're watching
- 25:55Speaker 1: your figure my friends in Christ. If this is a healthier,
- 26:03Speaker 1: lower fat version of the recipe, and Big Mom would
- 26:08Speaker 1: have noticed thirty grams of missing butter, she is going
- 26:12Speaker 1: to notice that you replaced the butter with fucking prunes
- 26:18Speaker 1: and baking soda or whatever, because the prunes the baking
- 26:22Speaker 1: soda is to compensate for the leavening. Butter is a
- 26:25Speaker 1: leavener because it has water in it, so it can
- 26:27Speaker 1: cause things to rise, and so if you just used prunes,
- 26:32Speaker 1: it's not going to ry. They contain a little butter,
- 26:34Speaker 1: but it's not really the same it doesn't have the
- 26:36Speaker 1: same action. So that suggestion is like accepted by everybody,
- 26:44Speaker 1: and he is hailed as saving them from the terrible
- 26:49Speaker 1: fate that would have awaited them if they had made
- 26:52Speaker 1: the cake wrong. And I am sitting over here like
- 26:56Speaker 1: slack jawed, going, are you kidding me? This is the
- 27:00Speaker 1: worst choice you could make. Now I know that they
- 27:03Speaker 1: are going to be able to get away with this.
- 27:06Speaker 1: That is simply the way this is set up. He
- 27:09Speaker 1: is meant to have actually saved the day. Here everybody
- 27:15Speaker 1: congratulating him and talking about what a genius he is.
- 27:18Speaker 1: This is supposed to be one what happened? But I
- 27:23Speaker 1: am so sorry that is psychotic though that as a
- 27:29Speaker 1: substitute aute. No, it's not just the the butter is missing.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Now prunes have a very specific flavor that is going
- 27:38Speaker 1: to change everything. Like what I have said my piece.
- 27:46Speaker 1: So the other thing that's going on in this episode,
- 27:52Speaker 1: we have first the construction of the elements of the cake,
- 28:00Speaker 1: and there's more of putting starting to like fate because
- 28:06Speaker 1: she is so in love with soany there's jealousy at
- 28:10Speaker 1: one point because I think that Chaffon is feeding him
- 28:18Speaker 1: some of the cake that she made. It's supposed to
- 28:21Speaker 1: be kind of flirty, you know that he's like, oh,
- 28:23Speaker 1: you've got a little on your face, like that kind
- 28:25Speaker 1: of thing. So Pudding is getting jealous but is managing
- 28:29Speaker 1: to control herself, I will say that, and is insisting
- 28:32Speaker 1: that she's not jealous. What would she even have to
- 28:34Speaker 1: be jealous about? What do you mean? Which, sweetie, you
- 28:37Speaker 1: don't need to hide the fact that you're into him.
- 28:39Speaker 1: We can all see it, and it's totally fine. But
- 28:43Speaker 1: eventually she winds up getting a phone call from Brulat
- 28:47Speaker 1: And it's so hard to tell because the way that
- 28:50Speaker 1: like the voice actress who does Brulai speaks to Pudding,
- 28:56Speaker 1: there's a sinister quality to the way that she responds that,
- 29:02Speaker 1: of course is part of her being a villain. But
- 29:07Speaker 1: I was almost for a second thinking like, is she
- 29:10Speaker 1: aware that putting switched sides? Does she know? And no,
- 29:16Speaker 1: she doesn't. It's it's pretty clear quickly that this is
- 29:20Speaker 1: just her the way she talks, But there was a
- 29:23Speaker 1: tone to it that for a second had me kind
- 29:25Speaker 1: of going, oh shit, has she caught on? And she
- 29:30Speaker 1: just wants to inform Pudding that Big Mom is like
- 29:37Speaker 1: still suffering from hunger pangs, first of all, and that
- 29:42Speaker 1: the one, the what do you call them, the Big Sonny,
- 29:49Speaker 1: they made a deal all these straw hats to meet
- 29:53Speaker 1: Loofy on Cacao Island, So if you see that, you'll
- 30:02Speaker 1: be aware that like they're heading in your direction, and
- 30:05Speaker 1: that there are a bunch of reinforcements heading your way
- 30:09Speaker 1: as well to deal with them, because we know what's
- 30:14Speaker 1: about to go down. And then she also mentions the
- 30:18Speaker 1: fact that Lufy decided to pick a fight with Katekori,
- 30:23Speaker 1: which was a really stupid idea, and now like Lufy
- 30:29Speaker 1: is distracted, so we don't even have to worry about him,
- 30:33Speaker 1: And understandably, when Putting hears this, she's like, oh shit
- 30:41Speaker 1: and does not understand why Sonji is so sanguine about
- 30:47Speaker 1: the whole thing. I love this. This is one of
- 30:52Speaker 1: those recurring things with this show that I liked right
- 30:58Speaker 1: from the beginning, and that is the way that these
- 31:02Speaker 1: characters all trust one another's skills, like it could very
- 31:08Speaker 1: easily be Oh no, Luthy, you know, but no. Instead,
- 31:13Speaker 1: he is so completely confident that she starts to be
- 31:18Speaker 1: irritated with him, and it's just like, why aren't you
- 31:22Speaker 1: worried about this? You don't understand. Category has literally never
- 31:26Speaker 1: lost a fight in his life, and I love Sonji's
- 31:29Speaker 1: response is, oh, well, then today is a special occasion
- 31:34Speaker 1: because he is about to lose for the first time.
- 31:38Speaker 1: And I just fucking love this shit, y'all. I love
- 31:42Speaker 1: the fact that they just believe in him so deeply
- 31:46Speaker 1: that hearing that this man is undefeated does not phase
- 31:50Speaker 1: Sanji for a moment. It's purely, Oh, he'll win. I
- 31:54Speaker 1: don't know how he'll win. I don't know the details
- 31:57Speaker 1: of what Kategori can do. That's none of my business.
- 32:01Speaker 1: What I do know is that Loofy manages to beat
- 32:04Speaker 1: everybody eventually, So trust me, it's happening, and I am
- 32:14Speaker 1: I am just here for it. I love it. I
- 32:16Speaker 1: love everybody having such total faith and trust in one
- 32:21Speaker 1: another when it comes to certain things. Of course, there
- 32:24Speaker 1: are going to be things with Loofy that everybody's like, oh, boy,
- 32:27Speaker 1: you sent Loofy to do this thing? Are you sure
- 32:30Speaker 1: that was a good idea? That's fair, that is simply
- 32:34Speaker 1: knowing who these people are. That's different. But yeah, in
- 32:38Speaker 1: this respect, it's great and I really really appreciate it,
- 32:41Speaker 1: and I also enjoy putting. On the one hand, you know,
- 32:47Speaker 1: as I've said, she is just falling all over Sanjy.
- 32:53Speaker 1: But on the other hand, the fact that he is
- 32:55Speaker 1: so unconcerned by this irritates her a little bit. She
- 33:00Speaker 1: says something like, you don't know what you're talking about.
- 33:04Speaker 1: He is going to get fucking crushed and you won't
- 33:08Speaker 1: be ready for it. And I couldn't help. But like,
- 33:13Speaker 1: every time she lets that other part out, I find
- 33:19Speaker 1: it delightful, and I really wish that it happened a
- 33:22Speaker 1: little bit more often, Like it's sort of calming down
- 33:28Speaker 1: at this point in the story, where it feels like
- 33:32Speaker 1: the part of her that's in love with Sanjy is
- 33:34Speaker 1: coming to the surface much much more often than the
- 33:39Speaker 1: part of her that's still on Big Mom's side, or
- 33:43Speaker 1: if you don't want to call it that the part
- 33:45Speaker 1: of her that's evil, I guess, you know, depending on
- 33:47Speaker 1: how you want to look at it. So yeah, I'm
- 33:52Speaker 1: kind of missing the evilness, and I was glad that
- 33:54Speaker 1: this surfaced again here for a second, and just to
- 33:58Speaker 1: wrap up on everything that's happening over here. We also
- 34:03Speaker 1: have Cheffon's dad showing up and it's a weird thing.
- 34:09Speaker 1: So what is his name? Guys? I know that it's
- 34:14Speaker 1: been mentioned and I forgot Oh Sarah him. That's when
- 34:20Speaker 1: you should just lay down and pretend Lufy killed you
- 34:22Speaker 1: before he opened up the house. That's funny, Pound, thank you, yes, Pound.
- 34:30Speaker 1: And that's a type of cake too, huh. He wants
- 34:35Speaker 1: to see Chiffon. And I didn't really feel very strongly
- 34:41Speaker 1: about Pound either way. You know, when we met him
- 34:43Speaker 1: in the woods, he was just such a little weirdo
- 34:46Speaker 1: and things were so odd and new that I was
- 34:50Speaker 1: very distracted. But I will say that these episodes had
- 34:56Speaker 1: me really starting to like this guy. He's growing on me. Like,
- 35:02Speaker 1: first of all, he's just so excited to see his daughter,
- 35:05Speaker 1: which you've got to love a dad who wants to
- 35:07Speaker 1: see his little girl. Secondly, I really love the fact
- 35:11Speaker 1: that he is remembering her as a baby and how
- 35:15Speaker 1: cute she was with such affection and it's very sweet. Thirdly,
- 35:22Speaker 1: he's coming to the door and he's like trying to
- 35:25Speaker 1: pound on it. An oven is here, and he like
- 35:30Speaker 1: punches him, and instead of just cowering, first, Pound says
- 35:38Speaker 1: to one of the like regular people at the door,
- 35:40Speaker 1: who's keeping him out? Why are you being so cruel?
- 35:44Speaker 1: I'm just trying to see my daughter, which I just
- 35:47Speaker 1: liked him immediately asking the question like do you get
- 35:50Speaker 1: what I'm trying to do here? Like why would you
- 35:53Speaker 1: even keep me out? And you know, it has the
- 35:57Speaker 1: desired effect almost where the guy is like, oh, that's
- 36:00Speaker 1: what you're here for, Like.
- 36:01Speaker 2: Yeah, communication works.
- 36:03Speaker 1: Who fucking knew? But then when Oven punches him, he's
- 36:07Speaker 1: immediately like, hey, why are you hurting me? I'm just
- 36:11Speaker 1: trying to see my girl. You don't have to get violent.
- 36:16Speaker 1: I swear to god. You guys, there's like been Narry
- 36:19Speaker 1: a character who has reacted in this way to being punched,
- 36:23Speaker 1: when it's actually the most appropriate reaction that I could imagine.
- 36:29Speaker 1: He's so like direct and logical that I cannot help
- 36:35Speaker 1: but respect it. Rather than like getting punched and going
- 36:39Speaker 1: sailing across, you know, he doesn't just go ow, you know,
- 36:43Speaker 1: and get afraid and snivel and cower. Instead, he's just like, bro,
- 36:49Speaker 1: what the fuck I want to see my kid? What
- 36:53Speaker 1: are you doing? There's no need for this. I love it.
- 36:58Speaker 1: I love it, and I am personally very much rooting
- 37:02Speaker 1: for him getting to see Chiffon. Inside, people are wrapping
- 37:08Speaker 1: up on their parts of the assignment. So we have
- 37:12Speaker 1: Cheffon finishing the cake, which is so light and airy
- 37:15Speaker 1: that it's threatening to like float away into the air.
- 37:18Speaker 1: The chocolate sauce that pudding what's working on is so
- 37:26Speaker 1: smooth that it's slipping right out of the bowl. The
- 37:32Speaker 1: icing that Soanji was working on. This guy tastes and
- 37:35Speaker 1: literally falls over and they think for a second that
- 37:38Speaker 1: it was poisoned, until he says, I can die happy.
- 37:42Speaker 1: This is so delicious and I love that, Like putting
- 37:46Speaker 1: immediately is like ooh, I want to taste it, and Son,
- 37:48Speaker 1: she's like, I don't think that's such a good idea
- 37:50Speaker 1: because then you'll get knocked out and we really need you.
- 37:53Speaker 1: And again she just starts to like turn bright red
- 37:57Speaker 1: and get very excited. And at one point they're like,
- 38:00Speaker 1: is she okays, is she having a fever? Why is
- 38:03Speaker 1: she so red? Somebody says maybe she somebody baked her,
- 38:06Speaker 1: and I was like, yeah, that's that's likely.
- 38:08Speaker 2: What.
- 38:11Speaker 1: So they are like feeling pretty solid on this. What
- 38:16Speaker 1: they are planning to do is put the cake on
- 38:20Speaker 1: the ship and bring all of the like additions with
- 38:26Speaker 1: them and actually ice and assemble the cake on the
- 38:31Speaker 1: ship on their way to the island where Mom is,
- 38:34Speaker 1: so they think. But Mom is already on their island
- 38:41Speaker 1: because after sinking the sonny, so she thinks she's pretty
- 38:47Speaker 1: much entirely lost the plot. Pedo has no control over her.
- 38:52Speaker 1: He keeps yelling at her that, like, the cake isn't
- 38:54Speaker 1: over here, and I think that he is the one
- 38:57Speaker 1: who like calls ahead and amand gets the call and
- 39:02Speaker 1: is like, yeah, so big Mom's headed this way, and
- 39:07Speaker 1: she thinks that, like, we've got the cake on one
- 39:11Speaker 1: of these islands, so we really need to evacuate this
- 39:15Speaker 1: place immediately. And I will say I was pleasantly surprised
- 39:20Speaker 1: that they're like evacuating, because I just expected them to
- 39:25Speaker 1: not give a shit about their own people. Frankly, I
- 39:28Speaker 1: fully was just sort of thinking it was going to
- 39:30Speaker 1: be like, Oh, it sucks to be you guys, you know.
- 39:33Speaker 1: But it does seem like they're trying to keep the
- 39:37Speaker 1: the natives so to speak, from getting hurt by her.
- 39:43Speaker 1: And then there's this other thing going on which I
- 39:47Speaker 1: love so much. So everybody who is positioned all around
- 39:52Speaker 1: the island are expecting that they're going to get notifications
- 39:58Speaker 1: from the slug the sea slugs that are meant to
- 40:03Speaker 1: like give them the position of enemies ships or the
- 40:10Speaker 1: enemies like submarines underwater. You know, all of this stuff,
- 40:15Speaker 1: and nobody is getting any updates, and everyone is sort
- 40:20Speaker 1: of like, what the fuck is going on? Why aren't
- 40:24Speaker 1: we hearing from them? And this was actually mentioned in
- 40:28Speaker 1: the last section as well, but I wasn't given an
- 40:31Speaker 1: answer at the time, so I think I just felt
- 40:34Speaker 1: it wasn't really worth bringing up yet because I didn't know,
- 40:37Speaker 1: and I didn't really have any theories. I had completely
- 40:41Speaker 1: forgotten about Aladdin, you know, with his wife who is
- 40:48Speaker 1: one of the she is a child of Big Mom,
- 40:54Speaker 1: and that they have they could have some influence over
- 40:59Speaker 1: these slugs. Get this really frankly strange sequence where it's
- 41:07Speaker 1: him and his wife singing to the sea slugs. Essentially like,
- 41:14Speaker 1: you guys work too much. Don't you think you deserve
- 41:18Speaker 1: a break? Do you think that you should get to
- 41:21Speaker 1: take a little vacation from all this hard work and
- 41:25Speaker 1: just dance around in the water and play and do
- 41:29Speaker 1: your own thing, don't you think you deserve it? And
- 41:36Speaker 1: it completely works. These slugs are evidently, like not real intelligent.
- 41:43Speaker 1: They are intelligent enough to do the thing that they
- 41:45Speaker 1: do with reporting locations and stuff, but that's not even
- 41:49Speaker 1: they have something attached to them that's really doing that.
- 41:52Speaker 1: So it's really barely even them so much as they
- 41:56Speaker 1: are carriers for equipment that really does the job. And
- 42:02Speaker 1: I just really really loved this because it's such a
- 42:08Speaker 1: it's an unexpected group effort thing, because again I'd forgotten
- 42:13Speaker 1: all about Aladdin. And also there's a point where he
- 42:20Speaker 1: says something after they've like distracted the slugs. He says,
- 42:23Speaker 1: I hope that this helps, even though it's only a
- 42:26Speaker 1: little thing, And I was just like, bro a little thing,
- 42:30Speaker 1: because it's like the thing, this distraction is kind of
- 42:36Speaker 1: a game changer, you know. So he's just very much
- 42:40Speaker 1: downplaying the importance of this, and I don't know if
- 42:44Speaker 1: he doesn't know or if he's simply being modest. I
- 42:47Speaker 1: suspect the ladder, but this is clutch And it was
- 42:53Speaker 1: just very fun to see everyone being like, where the
- 42:57Speaker 1: fuck are the slugs? What the hell? Because the slugs
- 43:00Speaker 1: have been mentioned repeatedly earlier on as like, Oh, we
- 43:04Speaker 1: don't need to worry because we've got those and they
- 43:07Speaker 1: will do half the work for us, so we don't
- 43:09Speaker 1: even need to think about it. And it's just very
- 43:12Speaker 1: fun to see an enemy that has gotten complacent about
- 43:16Speaker 1: something suddenly realize that that thing isn't there anymore. I mean,
- 43:21Speaker 1: I can't help but really enjoy that, you know what
- 43:22Speaker 1: I'm saying. And what is the name of the dark
- 43:28Speaker 1: haired woman? Because there's this other one of Big Mom's
- 43:32Speaker 1: kids that goes and speaks to Mondor and she's like
- 43:35Speaker 1: telling him about how Beggie's ship got away. I can't
- 43:39Speaker 1: remember her. She is firing on him and like Beggie
- 43:46Speaker 1: the when he takes off. There had been the thought that, like,
- 43:50Speaker 1: we can use the sea slugs as well, and that's
- 43:53Speaker 1: part of, you know, the whole thing with them being indetectable,
- 43:58Speaker 1: and Mondeora basically tells her because she comes to Montdora
- 44:03Speaker 1: and it's just like, I don't know what to do.
- 44:05Speaker 1: We can't get in touch with the sea slugs, and
- 44:08Speaker 1: Montor in the end is like find him anyway, figure
- 44:13Speaker 1: it out without the sea slugs pursue him. What do
- 44:17Speaker 1: you mean and she's just like, oh, okay, but it's
- 44:21Speaker 1: just clearly like the idea of going forward with finding
- 44:27Speaker 1: him like a fucking filthy casual with no equipment or
- 44:31Speaker 1: advantage at all simply had not occurred to her. Which
- 44:35Speaker 1: that is how it be sometimes when you are used
- 44:38Speaker 1: to having something that's really helpful and then it's suddenly gone.
- 44:42Speaker 1: You're just like, well, I guess I can't do the
- 44:43Speaker 1: thing at all, and it's like, no, yeah, you definitely can.
- 44:46Speaker 1: It's simply like much more inconvenient. It's like, you know,
- 44:51Speaker 1: you're dishwasher breaking. Oh I can't wash dishes anymore? You
- 44:55Speaker 1: fucking can. You can just wash them. It's not as
- 45:00Speaker 1: fun as just putting something in a box and turning
- 45:02Speaker 1: the box on, but yes you can. So anyway. Beji's
- 45:06Speaker 1: still like a factor, but he's very much on the
- 45:10Speaker 1: outside of things right now. He's not important for the moment.
- 45:14Speaker 1: It's just kind of a distraction, and I am going
- 45:18Speaker 1: to be interested to see what all he's up to,
- 45:23Speaker 1: So I'm trying to make sure that I talk about
- 45:26Speaker 1: all of the side stuff. Because there are check ins
- 45:31Speaker 1: with like pretty much everybody, there's a thing with checking
- 45:36Speaker 1: in with the straw hats as well. Oh my god,
- 45:38Speaker 1: and no Me gets a costume change now she's in
- 45:42Speaker 1: like a white sweater dress as well. I did find
- 45:45Speaker 1: it funny that Brooke specifically says, oh, you've got a
- 45:48Speaker 1: new look, because normally her new clothes aren't really acknowledged
- 45:53Speaker 1: unless it's like a specific plot point, you know. But
- 45:57Speaker 1: we'll get there. I'm just really quickly want to talk
- 45:59Speaker 1: about what's going on with Loofy and Category, because Category
- 46:07Speaker 1: Loofy manages to punch him this time, and what we
- 46:11Speaker 1: find out we go back in time in a flashback
- 46:16Speaker 1: to Lufy learning how to fight from us his face
- 46:22Speaker 1: that taught him how to use hockey. And it's very
- 46:27Speaker 1: funny because these fucking subtitles that I'm using are like
- 46:30Speaker 1: clearly auto translation, so it's spelled hockey like like the
- 46:33Speaker 1: sport h O c K E Y. And then earlier
- 46:37Speaker 1: there were a bunch of subtitles that were translated completely wrong.
- 46:41Speaker 1: It was like they just it was like a real
- 46:45Speaker 1: bad speech to text where I could understand kind of
- 46:48Speaker 1: where they got that, but it was just way way off.
- 46:55Speaker 1: So he is explaining that there is an other kind
- 47:01Speaker 1: of hockey and it's called observation hockey, and basically it's
- 47:06Speaker 1: being so completely aware of your surroundings that you don't
- 47:12Speaker 1: even have to look, and you know where somebody is
- 47:14Speaker 1: about to strike from, and you know where your enemy is,
- 47:19Speaker 1: or how like many of them there are, if there's
- 47:22Speaker 1: more than one. And he demonstrates to Loofy he's standing
- 47:28Speaker 1: in front of the elephant who keeps trying to hit
- 47:31Speaker 1: him with its trunk, and he is just ducking and
- 47:34Speaker 1: dodging and diving out of the way, barely exerting any effort.
- 47:39Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure that for almost this entire scene his
- 47:42Speaker 1: eyes are closed, even just to like really point out
- 47:46Speaker 1: that his eyes are not what's being used to figure
- 47:49Speaker 1: this out here. And so Loofy is understanding that the
- 47:57Speaker 1: reason he wasn't able to hit Kardakori is not because
- 48:06Speaker 1: the guy was like invisible, not invisible, incorporeal, but because
- 48:12Speaker 1: Kategori is so good at the observational hockey that he
- 48:18Speaker 1: is able to create holes in himself that are that
- 48:24Speaker 1: Lufy's fists pass through. And this just kind of made
- 48:30Speaker 1: me stop and think, because, like, you know, the thing
- 48:35Speaker 1: with category has been I can do all of the
- 48:40Speaker 1: same things as you Loufy with my power, which is
- 48:44Speaker 1: a Mochi power, which is similar enough to rubber that
- 48:48Speaker 1: it's a very solid imitation. But can Loofy do this
- 48:58Speaker 1: opening spaces in his chest so that fists pass right
- 49:03Speaker 1: through him? Like I know that rubber isn't mochi. I
- 49:14Speaker 1: mean he has done I guess the thing where he
- 49:16Speaker 1: like kind of makes a hole in like bends his
- 49:21Speaker 1: body out of the way when like a canball is
- 49:23Speaker 1: gonna come at him, or he can make his body
- 49:26Speaker 1: a big sale and send the cannonball right back at
- 49:29Speaker 1: the person who fired it at him. But I don't
- 49:32Speaker 1: think that he has ever made holes like that, right,
- 49:38Speaker 1: Seraphim says no, Okay, So anyway, Lovie manages to just
- 49:46Speaker 1: sort of like because of the fact that Kadakoori is
- 49:50Speaker 1: so shaken, I guess by the fact that he was
- 49:54Speaker 1: seen eating, Lovie is able to land some punches because
- 49:58Speaker 1: kinda Kori's observation Hockey isn't on, so to speak. But
- 50:07Speaker 1: it's pretty quick that Kategory gets it together and it's like, Okay, yeah,
- 50:12Speaker 1: I lost my cool for a second there. But and
- 50:16Speaker 1: so Lufy is in the middle of trying to punch
- 50:19Speaker 1: him again, and kada Cory starts getting it together and
- 50:22Speaker 1: doing the thing where he makes the holes in his body,
- 50:25Speaker 1: and then when Lufy's fist goes through, he closes the
- 50:29Speaker 1: hole around Lufy's fist and like catches him and holds
- 50:35Speaker 1: him in place, which I gotta say is really awful.
- 50:40Speaker 1: Like it's the equivalent of going to kick somebody and
- 50:44Speaker 1: then catching your foot. You know, that is so embarrassing.
- 50:49Speaker 1: And in summary with what's going on with the two
- 50:56Speaker 1: of them, it seems like Loufy has got armament hockey down,
- 51:01Speaker 1: but he does not seem to have mastered observational hockey.
- 51:11Speaker 1: I don't really see him prioritizing that. It's one of
- 51:18Speaker 1: those things where.
- 51:21Speaker 2: Loufy is just.
- 51:23Speaker 1: He's just like by nature, not really very observant. You know.
- 51:27Speaker 1: He calls brule by the wrong name like a lot
- 51:29Speaker 1: of times. I'm running out of time, so I really
- 51:33Speaker 1: do gotta speed things up, So let's just go to
- 51:36Speaker 1: that point. Because he goes to what is a gear five?
- 51:41Speaker 1: Is it the one where he's the bounce man and
- 51:46Speaker 1: Kadakori is just sort of observing Loofy here, and I
- 51:50Speaker 1: mean outside of the hockey thing, I also want to
- 51:52Speaker 1: mention that I like the fact that the observational hockey
- 51:55Speaker 1: was hinted at by the red gleam in Kadakori's eye
- 51:59Speaker 1: that has been happening like the whole fight, but I
- 52:02Speaker 1: just thought was meant to indicate his focus and not
- 52:07Speaker 1: that there was something practically supernatural going on there, you know.
- 52:14Speaker 1: But he says something to Lufy about like it looks
- 52:18Speaker 1: like you're growing smaller, and I love Lufy being like,
- 52:22Speaker 1: oh shit, yeah, I'm running out of my fuel to
- 52:26Speaker 1: keep up this. Thanks for the heads up, hold on,
- 52:30Speaker 1: and he like takes off and is basically going, I
- 52:33Speaker 1: just need a little time to recharge, and Kata Koori
- 52:36Speaker 1: is sort of letting him run off, kind of amusedly,
- 52:39Speaker 1: being like, is he seriously just thinking I'm gonna let
- 52:43Speaker 1: him recharge? Why would I just let him do that?
- 52:48Speaker 1: And begins to go after Loofy, but not quickly enough,
- 52:52Speaker 1: as it turns out, because Loofy turns the corner and
- 52:57Speaker 1: who should he stumble upon? Brulai? Who is she is
- 53:04Speaker 1: hiding up against the wall. It is such a weirdly
- 53:07Speaker 1: drawn out moment, and Lufy gets that weird face that
- 53:10Speaker 1: he got when he was trying to pretend everything was
- 53:13Speaker 1: fine for the straw Hats. But this time, I don't
- 53:15Speaker 1: think it's him putting on a show. I think it's
- 53:20Speaker 1: just meant to indicate him like being very excited that
- 53:24Speaker 1: he has found an easy out that he wasn't expecting.
- 53:28Speaker 1: But he grabs her up and jumps like she's going
- 53:37Speaker 1: category save me, He's gonna get me, and it's just
- 53:43Speaker 1: she does nothing to try and like run or stop
- 53:45Speaker 1: him or anything. She's just very helpless in this moment.
- 53:50Speaker 1: And it's another instance of me being like kind of
- 53:53Speaker 1: sad for Brulai because her power working the way that
- 53:58Speaker 1: it does means that she has to be kidnapped every
- 54:03Speaker 1: time for people to do what they need to do,
- 54:05Speaker 1: and it's just very undignified. It just that sucks for her.
- 54:09Speaker 1: But anyway, Loofy jumps through one of the mirrors and
- 54:17Speaker 1: does he wind up on Cocao Island? Guys, he does, right.
- 54:20Speaker 1: I'm just trying to remember exactly how all of this goes,
- 54:24Speaker 1: because things at this point kind of coalesce somewhat quickly.
- 54:30Speaker 1: I'm getting to the very end here where Big Mom
- 54:35Speaker 1: turns up because everybody is beginning to panic at her
- 54:38Speaker 1: arriving on this island, and she's at Nut Island, and
- 54:43Speaker 1: I think that's where he winds up right, is on
- 54:45Speaker 1: Nut Island. I'm jumping around here trying to see I
- 54:51Speaker 1: think so based on the woolpaper, I'm pretty sure. So
- 54:54Speaker 1: he hears her and is just like oh shit, and
- 54:59Speaker 1: he keeps calling brulet branch, Oh my god. It's very funny.
- 55:04Speaker 1: The fact that he's got her on this side also
- 55:07Speaker 1: means that category can't get out again, right, Like, don't
- 55:14Speaker 1: you need her in order to travel through the mirrors?
- 55:17Speaker 1: So is he like stuck in there right now? So
- 55:23Speaker 1: a seraphim says, no, he's on an island. Okay, cool, Okay,
- 55:26Speaker 1: I got there eventually. That category just being stuck in
- 55:32Speaker 1: there is very funny. I didn't I like didn't think
- 55:37Speaker 1: about that until this second because like Loufy coming through,
- 55:42Speaker 1: that's kind of the end of what we see with him.
- 55:46Speaker 1: And then we jump back over to the straw Hats
- 55:50Speaker 1: who are arriving at Cacao Island, and we jump back
- 55:54Speaker 1: to Soangy and everybody like prepping the cake. So I
- 56:00Speaker 1: I do not know exactly how he is planning to
- 56:03Speaker 1: approach things. His hockey is gone, so I don't anticipate
- 56:06Speaker 1: that he is going to try and face off with
- 56:08Speaker 1: Big Mom, because you know, it's hard to say. Lufy
- 56:14Speaker 1: can sometimes show a little bit of wisdom and understanding
- 56:18Speaker 1: of his own limitations, like just now when he ran
- 56:20Speaker 1: away from category, and then there are times where he's
- 56:24Speaker 1: fucking beaten and he doesn't seem to get it, and
- 56:27Speaker 1: he's still coming at people, and so it's hard for
- 56:31Speaker 1: me to decide whether or not he would try to
- 56:33Speaker 1: face Big Mom. She's under the impression still based on
- 56:40Speaker 1: Perro's whispering in her ear, that straw Hat has her
- 56:44Speaker 1: wedding cake. So that's the only reason I could see.
- 56:50Speaker 1: Maybe if Lufy understands that him coming out would be
- 56:54Speaker 1: enough of a distraction that she wouldn't hurt the people
- 56:57Speaker 1: of the island because she was too busy following him,
- 57:01Speaker 1: he doesn't really need Hockey to simply like lead her
- 57:05Speaker 1: on a little wild goose chase, you know. But I
- 57:08Speaker 1: don't know how much he comprehends that is the situation,
- 57:13Speaker 1: So that depends and when I and the Quick tune
- 57:20Speaker 1: in with the rest of the straw Hats, by the way,
- 57:24Speaker 1: is them acknowledging and I really do appreciate this. They
- 57:29Speaker 1: are heading to Cacau Island and they are encountering no
- 57:33Speaker 1: resistance at all.
- 57:35Speaker 2: And everybody is like, this seems a little weird, right, Jude.
- 57:45Speaker 1: Did you guys think we're just sailing straight into a traper?
- 57:50Speaker 1: And the conclusion that they all come to is basically, well,
- 57:56Speaker 1: if it's a trap, it's a trap. But there is
- 57:58Speaker 1: no way we can just turn around and leave now,
- 58:01Speaker 1: So whatever's going on, we just better be fucking ready.
- 58:07Speaker 1: That's the best we could do, which I respect, and
- 58:10Speaker 1: that is exactly right. And I'm just at least glad
- 58:12Speaker 1: that they clock the fact that them not running into
- 58:16Speaker 1: enemies is probably a bad sign. You know. It is
- 58:22Speaker 1: kind of actually a little bit sloppy on the part
- 58:26Speaker 1: of Big Mom's crew, but they're spread somewhat thin right now,
- 58:32Speaker 1: so it makes sense that they wouldn't put people out
- 58:36Speaker 1: here to like, you know, yeah, So I'll be interested
- 58:42Speaker 1: to see how all that goes down as well. Wondering
- 58:46Speaker 1: about Nanni's costume change, like, is there a reason? Ohda
- 58:51Speaker 1: just switches it up occasionally, And I'm fine with that.
- 58:54Speaker 1: She's the only person I think that really gets much
- 58:58Speaker 1: in the way of costume changing is not that other
- 59:01Speaker 1: people's clothes never changed, because they that's not true. But
- 59:04Speaker 1: I feel like she hers changed the most, which makes
- 59:07Speaker 1: sense because she likes clothes the most as a character tree,
- 59:10Speaker 1: you know. But I am curious if it's like the
- 59:16Speaker 1: sweater dress is interesting, because what I keep thinking about
- 59:19Speaker 1: is like that being a little bit more appropriate to
- 59:22Speaker 1: someplace that's got more cold weather, and I don't think
- 59:24Speaker 1: that's the thing anywhere on these islands, So I don't
- 59:26Speaker 1: know what that's meant to be about. Sarahim says with
- 59:32Speaker 1: this change, it's because what she was wearing when they
- 59:35Speaker 1: got to the boat was something she stole from some
- 59:38Speaker 1: mooks and had to jury rig to fit. Oh okay,
- 59:43Speaker 1: I didn't remember that. I don't even remember what she
- 59:45Speaker 1: was wearing before, to be honest, So okay, okay, that
- 59:48Speaker 1: makes sense. So yeah, that's pretty much where things stand.
- 59:56Speaker 1: By the end of this episode is uh Fion Nut Island,
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: Big Mama on Nut Islands starting to cause some real
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: fucking havoc Cacal Island. They've got the cake almost like
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: ready to go, and Category is stuck in mirror world
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: and the sea slugs are not on the job. Baje
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: has gotten away for now, and Montdor is just trying
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: to hold it all together. Montor has not yet, by
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: the way, figured out that German double six's one. He
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: still doesn't know about that, so he's somebody. I think
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: it's it's the woman who let Bejie get away. I
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: think she's the one who comes up to him and
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: is like, I have bad news, and he's like, oh wow,
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: bad news. What a change of pace. Like he's actually
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: really funny because he's he's not actually incompetent, but it's
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: just a real string of bad luck in combination with
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: treachery and a more competent enemy, so it's pretty funny.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: I actually kind of have grown to like Mondor in
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: this weird way because it's just a dude who is
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: He's like middle management in a target on Black Friday,
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: you know where. It's just it fucking sucks. Good luck,
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: Sorry about it? Oh man? All right, I have got
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: to wrap this up. But thank you guys again so
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: much for listening. I hope you all are enjoying the coverage.
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: Thank you to Sarah fem as well for hanging out
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: in the chat feeding me info, and to Florian for
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: commissioning this episode, and yeah, I will see you guys
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: again very soon. Until then, motherfuckers, that was an unspoiled
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: network
