Latest / Halo Territory: A Los Angeles Angels Podcast / BITTER SWEEP: Three wins over Rangers do little to mute volume of frustrated Angels fans
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Well, hey Angel fans, and welcome back to Halo territory.
- 0:02Speaker 1: We got a little four top for you today. Mike
- 0:05Speaker 1: Di Giovanna, former Elli Times Baseball writer and host of
- 0:08Speaker 1: the show, joined by Mark Trumbo, the former Angel slugger
- 0:11Speaker 1: and our regular co host. And we have Sam Bloma,
- 0:14Speaker 1: the athletic and Breezy Nolan, longtime season ticket holder and fan.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Welcome to all you guys. Well, it was a weekend
- 0:23Speaker 1: of contrast in Anaheim. We're on the field the last
- 0:25Speaker 1: place Angel swept three game series from the Texas Rangers,
- 0:29Speaker 1: and off the field, fans voiced their anger toward owner
- 0:32Speaker 1: Artie Morino in a very loud, very persistent, and very
- 0:36Speaker 1: organized way, sell the team chance and some more vulgar
- 0:40Speaker 1: chants directed at the owner echoed throughout the stadium and
- 0:43Speaker 1: could be heard clearly on TV and radio broadcasts.
- 0:47Speaker 2: There was a protest.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Outside the stadium before Saturday night's game, and the hostility
- 0:52Speaker 1: toward Moreno seemed to be amplified by the whole tarpsoff movement.
- 0:57Speaker 1: They're phenomenon that swept across the game less so question
- 1:01Speaker 1: for my panel today is this an inflection point for
- 1:05Speaker 1: the fans for the team for the owner.
- 1:08Speaker 3: What do you think, Sam, Yeah, I think so because
- 1:11Speaker 3: I mean, listen, if you've gone to Angels games. I mean,
- 1:14Speaker 3: I'm covering this team for six years, and I think
- 1:16Speaker 3: the reputation with Angels fans is always that they'll just
- 1:19Speaker 3: kind of they're almost passive, right, that.
- 1:20Speaker 2: They'll show up.
- 1:21Speaker 3: It's like the Rockies last year where they would sell
- 1:23Speaker 3: out the stadium and one hundred and nineteen lost season.
- 1:26Speaker 3: And so I think this is this is this fan
- 1:29Speaker 3: base pushing back, and I think there are several factors.
- 1:31Speaker 3: They talked about it with Breezy out at the protests
- 1:34Speaker 3: the other day. I think it's the Anaheim Ducks having
- 1:37Speaker 3: the season that they had and proving that this fan base,
- 1:40Speaker 3: which are the same people that go to games in
- 1:42Speaker 3: both Anaheim and Los Angeles of Anaheim, you know, it's
- 1:45Speaker 3: the same crowd and they see what winning looks like
- 1:48Speaker 3: and what it feels like. And then secondly, I mean,
- 1:51Speaker 3: it's everything you're hearing from ownership, it's everything you're hearing
- 1:55Speaker 3: from Perrymnazi, and it's fans feeling like they're being gas lit.
- 1:58Speaker 3: It's you know, going into this series, obviously they swept
- 2:01Speaker 3: the Rangers but you know, they go into the series
- 2:03Speaker 3: as the worst team in baseball, you know, having lost
- 2:06Speaker 3: all of these catastrophically painful games, getting blown out by
- 2:09Speaker 3: the Dodgers and losing a bunch of games and X
- 2:11Speaker 3: ratings to the A's.
- 2:13Speaker 2: It's it's it was just building.
- 2:14Speaker 3: It's been this building frustration, and I think you're hearing it.
- 2:18Speaker 3: And I think this is fans pushing back and and
- 2:21Speaker 3: you know, this little tarp's off thing is given a
- 2:23Speaker 3: vehicle for it. I mean, Olie Marmel's out there buying
- 2:26Speaker 3: tickets for these fans. Meanwhile, Kurt Zuki's kind of twisting
- 2:29Speaker 3: himself in a nod to avoid even addressing the question. So,
- 2:32Speaker 3: I mean, it's it's this very significant contrast, and you know,
- 2:36Speaker 3: Angels are just kind of having to wear it right now,
- 2:38Speaker 3: and they should. They absolutely earned it.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Breezy.
- 2:41Speaker 1: We've seen a lot of social media comments, the resentment
- 2:45Speaker 1: angers sort of building as this past couple of seasons
- 2:49Speaker 1: eleven ten losing seasons now, but is there something a
- 2:52Speaker 1: little different about this latest Uh these protests and and
- 2:56Speaker 1: and some of the the sort of the volume of
- 2:59Speaker 1: the voices right now.
- 3:01Speaker 4: Uh, yeah, I would definitely say that as a season
- 3:05Speaker 4: ticket holder at the beginning of May, not being able
- 3:12Speaker 4: to sell our tickets that are front row right at
- 3:17Speaker 4: the on deck circle, like the fact that I cannot
- 3:21Speaker 4: get anything for them, and I'm essentially having to give
- 3:25Speaker 4: my tickets away to games that I can't attend. And
- 3:29Speaker 4: there was there were comments about that too, like, oh,
- 3:32Speaker 4: you just bought these tickets to sell them.
- 3:33Speaker 5: That's not the case at all.
- 3:34Speaker 4: I go to an enormous amount of games, but like
- 3:38Speaker 4: I can't go to every single game, and so if
- 3:40Speaker 4: there are games that I can't attend, obviously I.
- 3:43Speaker 5: Try to sell them.
- 3:44Speaker 4: And the fact that it's I mean, it is hard
- 3:47Speaker 4: to try to even get bare minimum, you know, like
- 3:51Speaker 4: half of what we pay for our tickets and I
- 3:55Speaker 4: you know, so that that alone, I think is really frustrating.
- 3:59Speaker 4: I was sitting at the game yesterday and I was like,
- 4:01Speaker 4: this feels like an October baseball game already.
- 4:04Speaker 5: Like that, it's.
- 4:05Speaker 4: Nobody cares, like everyone feels checked out. You're looking at
- 4:09Speaker 4: the lineup and you're just like, I don't even know
- 4:11Speaker 4: who half the people are that are playing right now.
- 4:13Speaker 4: Like that is usually I'm sorry, not in October or
- 4:17Speaker 4: September games like where.
- 4:18Speaker 3: We're the October first Yeah.
- 4:21Speaker 4: Yeah, October first, where we're like, okay, yeah, exactly, but
- 4:27Speaker 4: you know September baseball, where like everyone just feels checked out,
- 4:30Speaker 4: you don't know who's on the roster. Like that's exactly
- 4:32Speaker 4: what yesterday, this last weekend really felt like, even though
- 4:35Speaker 4: we are winning, I think it has a lot to
- 4:37Speaker 4: do with the tarps off movement. And you know, like
- 4:42Speaker 4: I was there for the very first game that they started,
- 4:45Speaker 4: and they're sitting there chanting sell the team, and Zach
- 4:48Speaker 4: Netto gets the walk off and he literally points at
- 4:51Speaker 4: the tarps off people and he's like, thanks guys for
- 4:53Speaker 4: the energy, and I'm like, wow, that's interesting, Like you're
- 4:57Speaker 4: you're giving credit to the guys that are screaming you
- 5:00Speaker 4: sell the team. And I don't know, maybe he just
- 5:02Speaker 4: didn't hear that, but yeah, it's it's definitely it's palpable,
- 5:07Speaker 4: like everyone is over it officially.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Mark, could you see just watching the games on television
- 5:15Speaker 1: a different kind of tone out there in the stadium.
- 5:19Speaker 6: Hard to tell on ab TV and Peacock.
- 5:23Speaker 7: I think they do what they can to keep the
- 5:27Speaker 7: focus on the field. It wasn't all that apparent, although
- 5:33Speaker 7: if you were to check x at all, you would
- 5:36Speaker 7: have seen quite a different story. It seems like it
- 5:39Speaker 7: didn't necessarily start in the beginning of the game, mid
- 5:42Speaker 7: game usually, or.
- 5:43Speaker 6: If that were there. Okay, so it's a thing.
- 5:48Speaker 7: You guys are better qualified to answer if it's going
- 5:51Speaker 7: to be sustained. If there were enough people out there
- 5:54Speaker 7: in front to really make a difference. It looked like
- 5:57Speaker 7: they were at least one hundred, maybe more, and people
- 6:02Speaker 7: are noticing nationwide.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:04Speaker 1: I'll revert back to a comment we had on our
- 6:06Speaker 1: last show from one of the fans in terms of
- 6:09Speaker 1: whether this will have some staying powers. Scott Freeman's comment,
- 6:14Speaker 1: and he said it will be effective if that's capitalized,
- 6:18Speaker 1: if it stays consistent a few games or weeks. If
- 6:20Speaker 1: it blows over, then it's useless. If it's a nightly
- 6:23Speaker 1: thing for the whole season, he'll collapse while being already Marino. Yeah,
- 6:28Speaker 1: to me, it's interesting. You know, the team has just
- 6:31Speaker 1: left for road trip to Detroit and Tampa Bay, so
- 6:33Speaker 1: things are gonna cool off a little bit to me
- 6:35Speaker 1: when they come back in that first couple of games
- 6:37Speaker 1: of the homestand and I think some of it might
- 6:40Speaker 1: hinge on this this old tarp's off thing. If that
- 6:43Speaker 1: thing continues, you know, you got that toxic combination of
- 6:48Speaker 1: you know, men without their shirts on. Perhaps some of
- 6:51Speaker 1: them have had an adult beverager three And it's the
- 6:54Speaker 1: middle of the game, and hey, meet me in section
- 6:56Speaker 1: five oh five, or meet us in this section. We're
- 6:59Speaker 1: gonna go create and man, just seeing some of the
- 7:02Speaker 1: vitriol directed toward Marino and some of these social media posts,
- 7:07Speaker 1: and these are a lot of fans. They're a big
- 7:09Speaker 1: group out there, so it's gonna be pretty interesting to
- 7:12Speaker 1: sort of follow that. Breezy was at the protest, as
- 7:16Speaker 1: was Sam, and we're gonna take a quick look at
- 7:20Speaker 1: the videos she put together for us, our Halo Territory correspondent.
- 7:25Speaker 2: So let's take a look.
- 7:27Speaker 8: They think we only care about cheating affordability, but no,
- 7:30Speaker 8: just listen to these bands. They want to win. They're
- 7:33Speaker 8: tired of losing. They're tired of the same answers every week, like, oh,
- 7:37Speaker 8: you know, we're gonna keep brinding and doing the hard work,
- 7:39Speaker 8: but it's not working. Yeah, I think this is a
- 7:44Speaker 8: good way to get to them. I know some people
- 7:46Speaker 8: are like, why are you buying tickets to guitar art.
- 7:48Speaker 8: But I think this is start.
- 7:53Speaker 4: What about Artie Marino makes you come out here on
- 7:56Speaker 4: a Saturday at five pm and sell the team? And
- 8:01Speaker 4: we'reing a T shirt that already sucks, by the way.
- 8:03Speaker 9: Yes, because his ownership and dedication to the team is nothing.
- 8:09Speaker 3: He's greedy, he's.
- 8:10Speaker 9: Worried about money, money only for him. He doesn't care
- 8:13Speaker 9: about us, and we demand, after all these years, for
- 8:17Speaker 9: him to put money into the team, into the stadium,
- 8:20Speaker 9: into the fans, and give us a winning team. We're
- 8:23Speaker 9: tired of losing. He's made bad decisions. The farm team
- 8:27Speaker 9: below terrible league is horrible. Yeah, okay, we've had trades
- 8:31Speaker 9: that were horrible.
- 8:32Speaker 3: We've gotten rid of people.
- 8:33Speaker 9: We cut Mickey Moniac, who's having an All star season
- 8:36Speaker 9: in Colorado this year. Tim Anderson got Marsh but we
- 8:41Speaker 9: did get a hop before that.
- 8:42Speaker 3: But our players are regressing.
- 8:44Speaker 9: O Hopi's regressing, and Netto's regressing, Shanowell's regressing. It starts
- 8:48Speaker 9: at the top coaching Suzuki. My respects, but he has
- 8:52Speaker 9: no business being a manager.
- 8:53Speaker 4: He's their friends, he's their friend.
- 8:55Speaker 10: He's cheap. He is cheap, and.
- 8:58Speaker 4: We know that we want already to leave. We now
- 9:01Speaker 4: have seen what happened with the Ducks. Can you give
- 9:04Speaker 4: us a little bit of insight on how that changed
- 9:06Speaker 4: the dynamic of the city.
- 9:08Speaker 11: We're already as baseball fans, super frustrated what's happening here
- 9:12Speaker 11: because of how well they're doing there so to build
- 9:15Speaker 11: a winning franchise, and he chose him not to. That'll
- 9:17Speaker 11: tell you exactly where he stands. He should have learned
- 9:19Speaker 11: from what's going on with the Ducks. Ian Look what's
- 9:21Speaker 11: going on across the street, and what exactly is I mean,
- 9:24Speaker 11: all the shots winning, a winning culture.
- 9:27Speaker 4: They finally made it to the playoffs off.
- 9:31Speaker 6: I mean, it's it's all written right there.
- 9:33Speaker 11: You can see what's going on. And if you don't,
- 9:35Speaker 11: take a page out of their book, but you're just
- 9:37Speaker 11: either an idiot or you don't care.
- 9:39Speaker 4: Right, Why do you think the protests are happening now?
- 9:44Speaker 3: I think it's a combination of factors. You just mentioned
- 9:46Speaker 3: the Ducks. I think that kind of will people up
- 9:50Speaker 3: to this idea that you know, there's there's no such
- 9:52Speaker 3: thing as a fan base that doesn't care about winning. Yeah,
- 9:55Speaker 3: and you saw it with the Ducks. I mean that
- 9:57Speaker 3: was that was as excited as I think these same
- 10:00Speaker 3: fans kind of ever have been in the last you know, decade. Yeah.
- 10:04Speaker 3: But also, I mean there's no illusion of a competitive
- 10:06Speaker 3: team here at this point. I think that's that's a
- 10:08Speaker 3: big part of this. That there have been comments made
- 10:10Speaker 3: by the GM saying that they're best Baseball's ahead of them.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Comment's been Bardi Moreno saying that they don't prioritize winning.
- 10:18Speaker 3: I think that that's a direct insult to a lot
- 10:20Speaker 3: of people here that they've taken personally. And this team
- 10:23Speaker 3: right now is just not a you know, they're the
- 10:25Speaker 3: worst human baseball. You know, it's not It's not a
- 10:29Speaker 3: shot at the players. I know those players, a lot
- 10:31Speaker 3: of them care about winning, a lot of them desperately
- 10:34Speaker 3: want to please the people here. It's it's ultimately just
- 10:37Speaker 3: not a good enough ball club that's been constructed here.
- 10:39Speaker 3: And I think so often every year with the Angels,
- 10:42Speaker 3: they put together enough of a team to give you
- 10:46Speaker 3: a little bit of hope when the season starts, to
- 10:48Speaker 3: make you think, well, if this happens, if that happens,
- 10:50Speaker 3: if you know, all these things all into place, maybe
- 10:53Speaker 3: they'll be good enough. Yeah, but that just isn't happening
- 10:56Speaker 3: this year, the roster is just not it's just not
- 10:58Speaker 3: good enough. Like it's just not a good enough team.
- 11:00Speaker 3: There's never a shortage of like premium talent with the Angels,
- 11:02Speaker 3: which I think is what makes it all the more frustrating.
- 11:05Speaker 3: If you had a competent leadership here, like having Jose
- 11:08Speaker 3: Sireano would mean something, having Mike trapt With meet something,
- 11:11Speaker 3: having Zach Netta would really mean something. But they there's
- 11:14Speaker 3: just not enough around them.
- 11:15Speaker 2: And.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Ultimately, like the individual awards, the Joe Adell robbing three
- 11:22Speaker 3: home runs in a game, like it's it's exciting, but
- 11:25Speaker 3: it's it's it's empty, And I think that's what gets
- 11:28Speaker 3: people frustrated, right, Like you want those things to mean something.
- 11:31Speaker 3: It shouldn't be Jose Soireano starting today and that's like
- 11:34Speaker 3: maybe we'll get the one win this week, you know
- 11:35Speaker 3: what I mean.
- 11:36Speaker 4: But that's now, it literally is.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Well done, Breezy.
- 11:41Speaker 2: We're going to take a quick break and hear.
- 11:42Speaker 1: A word from our sponsors, and when we come back,
- 11:45Speaker 1: we'll talk more about a weekend of protests.
- 11:50Speaker 12: Todd Bother, I'm a last minutic guy. Sometimes you're a
- 11:52Speaker 12: last mintic guy, where you all of a sudden, see
- 11:54Speaker 12: a night open up and you want to go grab
- 11:56Speaker 12: some tickets, and you hadn't gotten them already. So you're
- 11:59Speaker 12: going to Sea Geek and you're gonna go look for
- 12:02Speaker 12: a green dot and see where the good seats are,
- 12:03Speaker 12: and the good value is send have a little night
- 12:06Speaker 12: with the fam.
- 12:06Speaker 10: Right without a doubt, And I'm looking for some of
- 12:09Speaker 10: the best seats. I'm looking for that green dot. When
- 12:11Speaker 10: I get that, it's a simple plug it in, use
- 12:14Speaker 10: your hands, go right on your screen, your phone, whatever
- 12:18Speaker 10: platform you can get it on. And it's so simple.
- 12:20Speaker 10: They make it so easy for you to do. Even
- 12:24Speaker 10: my son can do it if I ask him, Hey, Blikester,
- 12:26Speaker 10: let's go, man, get on there for us, find us
- 12:28Speaker 10: a couple of seats so we can watch even that
- 12:30Speaker 10: Subway series that would be fantastic. Seat Geek has it all.
- 12:34Speaker 2: There for you.
- 12:35Speaker 12: Yeah, and the code for you, you should know it.
- 12:37Speaker 12: It's Territory ten. It just gets you ten percent off
- 12:39Speaker 12: your next set of tickets. It's Eke ten percent off

- 12:47Speaker 12: Then the code is automatically added to you account so
- 12:49Speaker 12: you can use it later.
- 12:51Speaker 1: And welcome back to Halo territory with Mark Trumbo, Sam
- 12:54Speaker 1: Blum and Breezin Knowing Breezy deep a sense that after
- 12:59Speaker 1: ten st losing seasons and the constant gas lighting from
- 13:02Speaker 1: the general manager, that fans have reached a breaking point.
- 13:07Speaker 4: Yeah, I definitely think that fans have reached that breaking point.
- 13:11Speaker 4: I also think that it has a lot to do
- 13:14Speaker 4: with the Dodgers as well, Like they're right up the
- 13:17Speaker 4: street for us, and we're sick and tired of seeing them,
- 13:22Speaker 4: you know, have the best farm system, winning championship after championship,
- 13:27Speaker 4: and they're fans. I don't know about everyone else, but
- 13:30Speaker 4: like their fans are shoving it in my face and
- 13:32Speaker 4: I'm sick and tired of that.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Most importantly, Sam, you were out at the protests, You
- 13:39Speaker 1: saw what transpired out at the stadium this week. What
- 13:42Speaker 1: were some of your impressions and did you you know,
- 13:45Speaker 1: is this something different considering what's what's happened over the
- 13:49Speaker 1: last decade and what's happening now.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I think I think it is. It's
- 13:55Speaker 3: like I said earlier, I just think this is not
- 13:57Speaker 3: the same group of people what's the same group. Well,
- 14:00Speaker 3: I don't think it's the same mindset necessarily, as it's just,
- 14:04Speaker 3: like I said, there's no illusion that this is going
- 14:06Speaker 3: to like end up in a playoff berth and World
- 14:08Speaker 3: Series championship. And you know, every year this team enters
- 14:12Speaker 3: the season with that hope, I think, and that's always
- 14:16Speaker 3: kind of been the grift. That's the grift for the Angels,
- 14:20Speaker 3: that that that they will figure it out this year, right,
- 14:24Speaker 3: And now it's just like, okay, so what's the plan here?
- 14:26Speaker 3: I think it's like so blatantly clear that there's no plan.
- 14:30Speaker 3: And I think you also have to give Angels fans
- 14:31Speaker 3: credit for understanding that. You know, I mean, this is
- 14:35Speaker 3: this is a fan base that has gotten lied to
- 14:37Speaker 3: and gotten gas that year after year for year, and
- 14:39Speaker 3: I think you know, you can only really believe that
- 14:41Speaker 3: for so long, and it starts to it's just the
- 14:45Speaker 3: trust is eroded, and you know, they can they can
- 14:50Speaker 3: ignore it on the broadcast, as you know Mark mentioned,
- 14:53Speaker 3: and they can try and pretend that this isn't like
- 14:57Speaker 3: what it is, which is a huge story and a
- 15:00Speaker 3: huge issue. And I don't know if it will ever
- 15:02Speaker 3: impact Artie Moreno or if it'll even care or notice
- 15:04Speaker 3: or whatever. But I think it matters whether or not
- 15:07Speaker 3: it leads to a change. I think it matters. You know,
- 15:10Speaker 3: this isn't like in Oakland. I mean, there were these
- 15:14Speaker 3: massive demonstrations and they were losing their team, and the
- 15:16Speaker 3: Angels aren't losing their team. I don't think there's a
- 15:19Speaker 3: risk of that. I just think it's you know, it's
- 15:21Speaker 3: like they're losing hope and you feel it in a
- 15:24Speaker 3: way that maybe you haven't in the past.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Yeah, that's definitely that was gonna be my next question.
- 15:29Speaker 1: You know, how it will has impact Arti Marino. Now,
- 15:33Speaker 1: this story has definitely garnered some attention, certainly locally. The
- 15:38Speaker 1: New California Post did a story on it, and even
- 15:44Speaker 1: my alma mater, the Old Los Angeles Times, which seems
- 15:47Speaker 1: to go out of their way to ignore the Angels,
- 15:51Speaker 1: sent a freelancer out to do a front page story
- 15:54Speaker 1: headline an appeal for better Angels fed up with years
- 15:58Speaker 1: of losing fans to mean that Arnie Marinos sell the team.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Will will there be any impact? I heard Artie was
- 16:08Speaker 1: there Friday, and I know he doesn't come to as
- 16:10Speaker 1: many games for anyone on this panel. How will this
- 16:15Speaker 1: have any impact on Artie Marino?
- 16:20Speaker 3: No, I don't think so. I mean, this guy don't
- 16:23Speaker 3: think you really. I think if he really cared about
- 16:24Speaker 3: what fans thought, we wouldn't be in this position like
- 16:27Speaker 3: this is not where we wouldn't be talking about this.
- 16:31Speaker 4: You know.
- 16:32Speaker 3: I think that there's a level of insulation that he
- 16:34Speaker 3: is subjected to that he doesn't. You know, if he's
- 16:37Speaker 3: watching his team own broadcast and he's listening to on
- 16:39Speaker 3: this teamwe Ria radio station, I mean, you know you're
- 16:41Speaker 3: not gonna like hear some of this stuff, and you
- 16:44Speaker 3: know it's not to say anything about the broadcasters. I
- 16:46Speaker 3: think that if you know, I just think that's kind
- 16:48Speaker 3: of like the dynamic you know, with any team on broadcast.
- 16:51Speaker 3: You know, there's there's gonna be things that are discussing,
- 16:53Speaker 3: there's gonna be things that aren't and if you're insulated
- 16:56Speaker 3: from it, which I think he is to some extent,
- 16:57Speaker 3: I mean, he goes to games in spring training and
- 16:59Speaker 3: all the fans down there are saying, mister Marino, it's
- 17:02Speaker 3: so good to see you, and it's like, you know,
- 17:03Speaker 3: I mean, that's how people treat billionaires. And so I
- 17:05Speaker 3: think ultimately, like now, this is in his face a
- 17:08Speaker 3: little bit, you know. So I don't think it will
- 17:10Speaker 3: change anything, but I think there's maybe a little bit
- 17:12Speaker 3: of a wake up call. I don't think he thought
- 17:14Speaker 3: like John Carpino is gonna have you know, his life
- 17:16Speaker 3: boot at the you know, I mean this, this guy
- 17:18Speaker 3: was booming mercilessly out opening day, and there's there's that
- 17:21Speaker 3: that camera shot of already kind of looking shocked as
- 17:23Speaker 3: it was happening. And I don't think he fully understands
- 17:26Speaker 3: the anger right now, and maybe that is coming out
- 17:28Speaker 3: a little bit like there's maybe some understanding that he
- 17:31Speaker 3: wasn't really subjected to. I always remember that comment he
- 17:34Speaker 3: said where it's a silent or you know, silent majority
- 17:37Speaker 3: of whatever it was, you know, a majority of people
- 17:39Speaker 3: that support him, and and this is like that's obviously
- 17:42Speaker 3: not the case, right Like, there is a majority of
- 17:44Speaker 3: Angels fans to test this guy, and and you know,
- 17:47Speaker 3: maybe he's aware of that now, maybe not. I don't know.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree with you, Sam, I don't think it
- 17:51Speaker 1: will necessarily change anything, but I do think it will
- 17:55Speaker 1: impact him. I think it puts a pretty good thing
- 17:58Speaker 1: in his ego. You know, for those of us who
- 18:00Speaker 1: are around. Mark was younger, but you know the beginning
- 18:03Speaker 1: of the already Morino regime. I mean, the first thing
- 18:06Speaker 1: he does is coming here and lower beer prizes. For
- 18:08Speaker 1: the first five or six years of his ownership, they
- 18:12Speaker 1: won five division titles. They are on top of the world.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Attendants was booming. Laraty would walk the concourse literally every night,
- 18:19Speaker 1: just so fans could kind of kiss the ring, you know, Oh,
- 18:22Speaker 1: thank you, miss Marino.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Thanks for lower and beer prizes. All everything's great.
- 18:26Speaker 1: And he did that for years and I honestly cannot remember,
- 18:30Speaker 1: you know, the last time he's even gone near the concourse,
- 18:33Speaker 1: let alone walked it among fans. I don't know, Breezy,
- 18:37Speaker 1: you go to the games more as a fan than
- 18:39Speaker 1: any of us. Have you seen Arti Marino walking the concourse, meeting,
- 18:43Speaker 1: talking to fans, getting any.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Kind of input.
- 18:47Speaker 4: I have seen him. He'll be on the field and
- 18:51Speaker 4: then he'll go up the stairs through the Diamond Club
- 18:54Speaker 4: and I've seen people go like run to him to
- 18:59Speaker 4: you know, get a picture or whatever. That's maybe happened
- 19:02Speaker 4: twice in the last year. I didn't know he was
- 19:06Speaker 4: there on Friday. That was the only game I didn't
- 19:08Speaker 4: go to so I'm bumms. I didn't see that, but
- 19:12Speaker 4: I did hear that everyone that was watching the games
- 19:16Speaker 4: on TV. They could hear the chance up until Sunday's game.
- 19:20Speaker 4: So I don't know if they cut the volume of
- 19:23Speaker 4: the stands, but now the chants are not heart on TV.
- 19:26Speaker 1: So I know one thing they're doing is they're making
- 19:29Speaker 1: a point of playing any loud in game entertainment they
- 19:33Speaker 1: can throughout the game at all points. You know, usually
- 19:36Speaker 1: they wait till guys are on first and second and
- 19:38Speaker 1: there's a rally to flash that make noise sign on
- 19:41Speaker 1: the video board. They were doing that between innings last night,
- 19:44Speaker 1: so that was a little odd. Mark Trumball, you played
- 19:47Speaker 1: for an Ardi Marino owned team, you were an employee.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Maybe you know him, you know a little better than
- 19:53Speaker 2: us lately. Any thoughts on whether this has any impact
- 19:57Speaker 2: on the owner.
- 20:00Speaker 7: We don't have a personal relationship. Oh okay, So we've
- 20:03Speaker 7: had one conversation and it was not while I was playing,
- 20:08Speaker 7: And I doubt he cares all that much about this.
- 20:11Speaker 9: Uh.
- 20:12Speaker 7: But again, it's it's like pretty much everything. You don't
- 20:16Speaker 7: know where anyone stands on anything.
- 20:19Speaker 6: Uh at any time.
- 20:22Speaker 7: There's just a refusal to really be remotely transparent general manager,
- 20:28Speaker 7: especially any and even Kurt.
- 20:32Speaker 6: Overly positive. And it's kind of what you know, the
- 20:35Speaker 6: Angels do.
- 20:36Speaker 7: They they sweep on a on a series that we
- 20:40Speaker 7: would have been probably you know, far more stinging if
- 20:43Speaker 7: they struggled against the team that you know, the Texas
- 20:47Speaker 7: Rangers are. Good luck to them that that was not
- 20:50Speaker 7: not not a good ball club that came into town.
- 20:53Speaker 7: I don't know what they're they're doing. We can talk
- 20:55Speaker 7: about some of the baseball stuff, but I know people
- 20:58Speaker 7: in the front office, at least one.
- 21:01Speaker 6: You know, we'll go unnamed, had made some comments that
- 21:05Speaker 6: they're aware of what's going on.
- 21:07Speaker 7: I think that they probably are counting on it fizzling
- 21:10Speaker 7: out with the best baseball yet to come, you know,
- 21:13Speaker 7: the maybe the fans, and also the minor league system
- 21:18Speaker 7: is not quite as bleak, at least record wise. As
- 21:20Speaker 7: one of the gentlemen pointed out, the farm system rankings
- 21:24Speaker 7: are are not great, but I think almost every team
- 21:27Speaker 7: is either at five hundred or above. That will probably change.
- 21:31Speaker 7: And kudos to last thing. The gentleman who called into
- 21:34Speaker 7: Trent Rush with some maybe Sam retweeted that as well,
- 21:40Speaker 7: said he's been a fan for a long time. He
- 21:42Speaker 7: doesn't like the laughing and the dugout when they're getting
- 21:44Speaker 7: their butts kicked. Had a big problem with that, so
- 21:48Speaker 7: I think a lot of people may agree with that.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Now it's time for Daily Dingers, presented by FanDuel.
- 22:02Speaker 7: My pick for this week's Daily Dingers is Oswaldo Peraza
- 22:06Speaker 7: against the Detroit Tigers, who are not off to the
- 22:10Speaker 7: best start. They have some injuries, but that doesn't matter
- 22:14Speaker 7: because Paraza is swinging a hot bat at a big
- 22:17Speaker 7: home run recently, and I think he's due.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Joining the action is easy.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Just make your free pick on who's hitting a home
- 22:25Speaker 1: run in their game, and if you're right, you'll get
- 22:26Speaker 1: a profit boost to use on your next bet for
- 22:29Speaker 1: a chance at extra winnings. It's just another reason why
- 22:32Speaker 1: FanDuel is the home of home runs. Head over to
- 22:35Speaker 1: FanDuel dot com slash foul to get started. That's FanDuel
- 22:39Speaker 1: dot com slash foul to opt in for Daily Dingers

- 22:59Speaker 5: and wager amount. See terms at sportsbook dot FanDuel dot com.
- 23:04Speaker 5: Gambling problem call or text one eight hundred Gambler.
- 23:10Speaker 1: And Welcome back to Halo Territory with Mike did Giovanna,
- 23:12Speaker 1: Mark Trumbo, Sam Blum and Breezy Noan. Well, we'll get
- 23:17Speaker 1: to the weekend series sweep of the Rangers in a sect,
- 23:20Speaker 1: But one final question on the protests for the panel.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Where do we think this goes from here?
- 23:25Speaker 9: Sam?
- 23:28Speaker 3: I mean, listen, I think part of it will depend
- 23:30Speaker 3: on kind of the quality of the play over the
- 23:32Speaker 3: you know, I always think it comes down to is
- 23:36Speaker 3: there any hope?
- 23:36Speaker 13: Right?
- 23:37Speaker 3: Can you can you manufacture interest in the club?
- 23:40Speaker 2: Right?
- 23:40Speaker 3: Like Malburgeran is fun read Dettmer is pitching what he did?
- 23:44Speaker 3: I mean like there's there could be you know, if
- 23:46Speaker 3: they're like staying afloat a little bit, then maybe if
- 23:49Speaker 3: this thing totally just collapses in on itself as it
- 23:52Speaker 3: looked like it was before this weekend, then I think
- 23:55Speaker 3: you might see more of that, and you might see
- 23:57Speaker 3: like like when they come back and they have a
- 23:59Speaker 3: week nights, here is against the Rockies like that is
- 24:01Speaker 3: a perfect formula for more of this to happen. Uh,
- 24:04Speaker 3: small crowds, lots of empty sections. That's that is That
- 24:09Speaker 3: is the the kind of the mixture that I think
- 24:11Speaker 3: creates this. But you know, I mean I think, do
- 24:16Speaker 3: I think its continues? Maybe I don't know. I really don't.
- 24:19Speaker 3: But I don't think the anger is gonna go away.
- 24:21Speaker 2: I don't think that.
- 24:22Speaker 3: I don't think fans are suddenly going to become passive
- 24:25Speaker 3: about this again. So whether or not it's a nightly thing,
- 24:28Speaker 3: I think you know, you're gonna you're gonna feel a
- 24:30Speaker 3: fan base that is is either just checked out or angry,
- 24:34Speaker 3: and that you know, as Breezey said, she's having trouble
- 24:36Speaker 3: selling the season tickets, I think that is very reflective
- 24:39Speaker 3: of where things are. I mean, the only way they
- 24:41Speaker 3: were able to do this on Saturdays because it was
- 24:44Speaker 3: it was not crowded on Saturday night, which I never
- 24:47Speaker 3: see here. It was an eme we're close to crowded,
- 24:50Speaker 3: people aren't really coming out as much, and I think
- 24:52Speaker 3: that is maybe how you start to see some of
- 24:54Speaker 3: this manifest itself. I the second Artie's comments happened over
- 24:57Speaker 3: the offseason about the priorities. I felt like you're about
- 25:00Speaker 3: to see a huge dip in attendance. People are pissed,
- 25:02Speaker 3: that is an insult to the fans, and you're seeing
- 25:04Speaker 3: a play out breezy.
- 25:06Speaker 1: You think, do you think fans have the organizational skills
- 25:10Speaker 1: to sort of keep this momentum going?
- 25:14Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that. I think there's one specific person
- 25:17Speaker 4: who is organizing everything for the tarpsoff movement at the
- 25:21Speaker 4: Angels Stadium. I hope that he keeps doing it, more
- 25:26Speaker 4: so because it brings this really exciting energy into the
- 25:31Speaker 4: ballpark that we have been lacking for seven years. Like
- 25:35Speaker 4: the fact that there's actually chance going on now. They're
- 25:38Speaker 4: doing role calls to the players, the players are getting
- 25:41Speaker 4: into it. Like I've been waiting for that energy for
- 25:44Speaker 4: a long time, and like, I don't think it's a
- 25:46Speaker 4: coincidence that we were able to sweep the Rangers this
- 25:51Speaker 4: past weekend for that exact reason. Like, yes, I do
- 25:55Speaker 4: think that we're going to keep losing games, but I
- 25:57Speaker 4: just love the fact that we're getting some energy into
- 25:59Speaker 4: the stadium. Again, I do think that the cursing doesn't
- 26:04Speaker 4: necessarily help, But yeah, I think I think that people
- 26:09Speaker 4: are angry enough for it to keep going, and the
- 26:13Speaker 4: fact that it's exciting, it's making the players play a
- 26:17Speaker 4: little bit more.
- 26:20Speaker 3: To the energy.
- 26:21Speaker 4: So yeah, yeah, I.
- 26:23Speaker 2: Thought the roll call was pretty funny.
- 26:25Speaker 1: You might want to if you're talking then of these fans,
- 26:28Speaker 1: Breezy remind him that the role call is generally done
- 26:31Speaker 1: in the first inning, not the middle of the seventh inning.
- 26:33Speaker 1: When the Angels are bad, they need a little a
- 26:36Speaker 1: little more work on the role call for sure. All right,
- 26:40Speaker 1: let's uh, we don't want to be all doom and
- 26:42Speaker 1: gloom here, as we have said many times, so let's
- 26:45Speaker 1: talk a little bit about this Angels sweep of the Rangers. Yes,
- 26:51Speaker 1: it came against the diminished Rangers club that's missing Corey
- 26:53Speaker 1: Seeger Wyatt Langford and Josh Smith. But the Angels also
- 26:57Speaker 1: beat three pretty good pictures in Jacob de Nathan Eovaldi
- 27:01Speaker 1: and Mackenzie Gore. They hit four homers and Friday Nights game,
- 27:05Speaker 1: including one by our.
- 27:08Speaker 2: New hero Wade Meckler and Meckler.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Meckler Anaheim product. And they got some superb pitching from
- 27:16Speaker 1: Walbert Urania Saturday Night and Reed Detmer Sunday deptmvers in
- 27:20Speaker 1: his previous game gave up I think it was eight
- 27:23Speaker 1: runs and eight hits in five and two thirds innings,
- 27:26Speaker 1: and Sunday night he was just dominant.
- 27:29Speaker 2: He allowed one run, one.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Hit, retired twenty four of twenty five batters and eight innings,
- 27:35Speaker 1: and a career high fourteen strikeouts.
- 27:38Speaker 2: And we caught up with Reid after the game, and
- 27:41Speaker 2: this is what he told us. Obviously, that was pretty
- 27:47Speaker 2: close to perfect. What did you feel was like working best?
- 27:51Speaker 13: Yeah, fastball command was really good. I was able to
- 27:55Speaker 13: get the fastball down so that the knees which helped
- 27:57Speaker 13: a lot, which made my slader even better to change up.
- 28:00Speaker 6: Later in that game.
- 28:01Speaker 13: Uh yeah, just overall commanding of the zone is huge.
- 28:07Speaker 13: I think the main thing is just getting the past
- 28:09Speaker 13: wall down and down at the bottom to make it
- 28:12Speaker 13: look like a slider. Uh, a slider's playing, but just
- 28:16Speaker 13: then bounce back the last one of eight runs back.
- 28:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean.
- 28:23Speaker 13: This game is very hard, like games like that can happen,
- 28:28Speaker 13: and uh, you just gotta move forward. Like I said
- 28:30Speaker 13: last week after the game, you just gotta look forward
- 28:32Speaker 13: to the next start and put.
- 28:33Speaker 6: It in the past.
- 28:34Speaker 13: And h I did a pretty good job with that.
- 28:37Speaker 13: This week, just saying with the process, getting good work
- 28:40Speaker 13: done in the bullpen, in my bullpen in between starting
- 28:44Speaker 13: their outings, and then kind of sticking with the plan,
- 28:48Speaker 13: and uh yeah, that's pretty much it.
- 28:51Speaker 2: To be honest a game, then you're no here?
- 28:55Speaker 4: Did you pick?
- 28:55Speaker 6: Is this a better pitcher game than you're no here?
- 29:01Speaker 6: I'm a no hitters no hitter.
- 29:04Speaker 13: I would say stuff wise, this is probably the best game,
- 29:09Speaker 13: but nothing's gonna be the no hitter.
- 29:11Speaker 2: You threw a career.
- 29:13Speaker 1: I actually think this is a better pitch game than
- 29:15Speaker 1: the no hitter. You know, he only struck out two
- 29:18Speaker 1: batters and walk one in the no hitter, and he
- 29:21Speaker 1: threw I think it was one hundred and eight pitches.
- 29:24Speaker 1: He struck out fourteen on Sunday and needed only ninety
- 29:28Speaker 1: six pitches to do it in eight innings. Mark, You've
- 29:32Speaker 1: talked a lot about debt Meers needing to be in
- 29:34Speaker 1: a tack mode from the get go. Was this about
- 29:37Speaker 1: as good of an example as you've seen of him?
- 29:42Speaker 6: Yes, it was.
- 29:45Speaker 7: I think that there were a few things going on.
- 29:48Speaker 7: Reid was pitching more like he did out of the
- 29:51Speaker 7: bullpen last year, getting ahead of guys and putting them
- 29:54Speaker 7: away the Rangers, especially for those metal Indians. When the
- 29:59Speaker 7: Shadows were heavily impacted, they were up there swatting butterflies.
- 30:02Speaker 7: It didn't look like they had a clue what to do.
- 30:06Speaker 7: Feeble swings for the majority of them, and he did
- 30:10Speaker 7: a really nice job. He had three pitches. Three of
- 30:13Speaker 7: his pitches greaded well above average. His fastball, his slider
- 30:18Speaker 7: was was the best I've seen probably ever, and he
- 30:21Speaker 7: also had his curve ball going. All three were able
- 30:24Speaker 7: to be thrown for strikes. The Rangers really never got
- 30:28Speaker 7: anything going. Mackenzie Gore, also on the other side, did
- 30:31Speaker 7: not pitch a bad ball game. This This game was
- 30:34Speaker 7: not filled with much offense. If you watched all nine innings,
- 30:38Speaker 7: it was. It was tough up there, and like I
- 30:42Speaker 7: was kind of alluding to the Rangers just kind of
- 30:45Speaker 7: a sloppy club. Taylor made double play opportunity.
- 30:51Speaker 6: You know, they bought it to.
- 30:53Speaker 3: End the game.
- 30:55Speaker 6: You know, we can get back to read it. But
- 30:57Speaker 6: I kind of wonder, what, what what's going on? They
- 30:59Speaker 6: come to town.
- 30:59Speaker 7: You know de grom Is is de grom I mean, excellent,
- 31:03Speaker 7: but when he pitches against the Angels, he seems gwilt
- 31:06Speaker 7: e ra a career is north of six And I
- 31:09Speaker 7: don't know if what scouting report he's going off of,
- 31:11Speaker 7: but first pitch of the game, uh, I don't. I
- 31:17Speaker 7: guess he just wanted to see what happens. But he
- 31:19Speaker 7: found out that if you throw a first pitch fastball
- 31:22Speaker 7: to Zach Nettle, he's gonna I mean, I don't know,
- 31:24Speaker 7: he's already done it against him before too, And it
- 31:27Speaker 7: is and and Eovaldi as well, was was he didn't seem.
- 31:31Speaker 6: He got away with a little bit more. But I
- 31:34Speaker 6: don't know. The Rangers must just march into their own
- 31:36Speaker 6: the beat of their own drum. Not sure.
- 31:39Speaker 1: He definitely put his finger a little too close to
- 31:42Speaker 1: the stove on that. We were saying that in the
- 31:43Speaker 1: press box, Like, what was he thinking, Sam? Do you
- 31:46Speaker 1: think this was a better game than read snow hitter?
- 31:50Speaker 2: Oh that's a good question.
- 31:51Speaker 3: I mean, I think when you reminded me that they
- 31:53Speaker 3: only had two strike ats that game, I mean maybe, yes.
- 31:56Speaker 3: I don't think this Rangers lineup was too I mean
- 31:58Speaker 3: that like they're missing like half their lineup. I mean, ultimately,
- 32:01Speaker 3: that is a that is a tough lineup to hit it,
- 32:04Speaker 3: to find hits and that being said, I mean, no
- 32:07Speaker 3: one was even like touching the ball, and he was
- 32:09Speaker 3: getting two on everybody, and it was it was just
- 32:11Speaker 3: pure dominance. I really thought he should have gone out
- 32:14Speaker 3: for the ninth. I mean, I understand he's in ninety
- 32:16Speaker 3: six pitches, but there he was. It was easy eight innings.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Right there for him.
- 32:20Speaker 3: And Bachmann came in and it was you know, they
- 32:22Speaker 3: had all these like they have a bunch of lefties
- 32:24Speaker 3: on their bench, the Rangers, so it was you know,
- 32:25Speaker 3: you're putting you you're putting the game in risk right there.
- 32:28Speaker 3: You know, I think they should be then cool that
- 32:29Speaker 3: Jay Berger came up with the bases loaded, that doesn't
- 32:31Speaker 3: seem to be a good spot for him. And uh,
- 32:35Speaker 3: it was what it was. But I mean, yeah, I
- 32:36Speaker 3: think that may have been the best pitch game I've
- 32:39Speaker 3: like seen from an Angel's pitcher, like in the six
- 32:42Speaker 3: years I've been around. I mean, it was just pure dominant.
- 32:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think outside of Burger's home run, I
- 32:47Speaker 1: don't think they hit a ball hard. And Mark, we've
- 32:51Speaker 1: talked a little bit before the show. You think the
- 32:52Speaker 1: Shadows had a little something to do with the dominance
- 32:55Speaker 1: on the mound last night.
- 32:58Speaker 7: I can personally attest it's if you especially if you
- 33:01Speaker 7: can spin the ball, that's a big thing.
- 33:03Speaker 6: If it's a fastball, first pitcher, a guy that like.
- 33:07Speaker 7: Seventy percent, which is very rare these days, those are
- 33:11Speaker 7: the guys that you have a better chance against. If
- 33:13Speaker 7: you're throwing anything with a wrinkle or it's you know,
- 33:15Speaker 7: moving appears to be a strike, guys will just And
- 33:20Speaker 7: that's as a hitter, you have to assume it's a fastball,
- 33:23Speaker 7: that it's It wasn't a small advantage, it was.
- 33:26Speaker 6: It was a sizeable one. It's not taking away because Read.
- 33:29Speaker 6: You know, I hate saying.
- 33:32Speaker 7: I mean that if this was a normal condition game,
- 33:36Speaker 7: I'd say, by far the best start that I've seen
- 33:38Speaker 7: in a very long time out of any pitcher. But
- 33:41Speaker 7: you know, a little bit of an asterisk with the
- 33:43Speaker 7: odd start time peacock game.
- 33:46Speaker 6: But credit to him. I hope he keeps it rolling.
- 33:48Speaker 7: Different battery, uh, you know him and different casher behind
- 33:52Speaker 7: the plate, I'm sure if that that, And you know,
- 33:55Speaker 7: as far as his postgame comments, I'd like to see.
- 33:58Speaker 6: A little bit more out of Read in that regard.
- 34:00Speaker 7: I think he's got a little more in the tank
- 34:01Speaker 7: as far as, uh, maybe opening up a tad some
- 34:05Speaker 7: of those cliches I hear quite often, but I think
- 34:08Speaker 7: he's got a little more personality on there.
- 34:09Speaker 6: So you're watching the show, read.
- 34:14Speaker 3: Red is like, if you talk to read after a start,
- 34:16Speaker 3: he's just usually like that. But if you get him
- 34:18Speaker 3: like any other day of the week, he's just he's
- 34:20Speaker 3: way more chill and he's like, you know. But one
- 34:22Speaker 3: of those things about Read is before games, he'll I
- 34:24Speaker 3: kind of lock in, just sit on the couch alone.
- 34:25Speaker 3: He's one of these I think he's very stoic and
- 34:28Speaker 3: you know, one of those guys you just can't really
- 34:30Speaker 3: talk to on a game day. But uh, I mean,
- 34:32Speaker 3: you know, he's got some He does have some personality,
- 34:35Speaker 3: I think.
- 34:36Speaker 2: Does he hides it well as many do.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Hey, we'll close the show with this question for the panel.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Angels open a road trip with three games at Detroit
- 34:46Speaker 1: and then they go to a very very good and
- 34:49Speaker 1: some somewhat surprising Tampa Bay team next weekend. Detroit, of course,
- 34:54Speaker 1: is struggling, maybe more than the Angels right now. Couldn't
- 34:57Speaker 1: this be at least a little stretch of the season
- 34:59Speaker 1: where the Angels turn things around a bit here.
- 35:01Speaker 3: Sam, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna look at this
- 35:06Speaker 3: team and predict that, to be honest with you, if
- 35:08Speaker 3: it happens, you know great. I mean the division is
- 35:11Speaker 3: so bad that if they win the next like three
- 35:13Speaker 3: games or like back in it. But I just you know,
- 35:16Speaker 3: I've been fooled before, so I'm not going to get
- 35:17Speaker 3: fooled again.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Good whose song by the way, Uh Breezy, what do
- 35:22Speaker 2: you think?
- 35:24Speaker 12: Yeah?
- 35:24Speaker 4: I'm right there with Sam. It's it's hard to have
- 35:27Speaker 4: any sort of hope. I think if they do end
- 35:30Speaker 4: up winning, great, but it really doesn't mean much.
- 35:34Speaker 6: Mark, are we back?
- 35:35Speaker 2: Baby? What do you got?
- 35:37Speaker 5: Oh?
- 35:37Speaker 6: Yeah, definitely definitely are.
- 35:40Speaker 7: I mean, just briefly, Uh schoobl Berlander, Riesols and Jackson Job,
- 35:47Speaker 7: Troy Melton Hobby are Bias labor.
- 35:48Speaker 6: To as Kerry Carpenter.
- 35:50Speaker 7: Those are all the studs for the Tigers that are
- 35:52Speaker 7: on the shelf, So they're going to be going in
- 35:54Speaker 7: fishing a team that is and Kenley Jansen's uh he
- 35:59Speaker 7: blew is fourth saved. Yesterday's got a five point zero
- 36:02Speaker 7: two e ra A. The actual numbers beyond that are
- 36:05Speaker 7: not that bad, So I don't really know what's going
- 36:07Speaker 7: on there, but the Tigers are spiraling downward, and we'll
- 36:11Speaker 7: see it's probably a good matchup. Now Tampa Bay is
- 36:14Speaker 7: a much much better club, and there we'll see that
- 36:19Speaker 7: a better test will be Tampa Bay. The Tigers, I'm
- 36:22Speaker 7: not sure they have some decent starting pitching going, but
- 36:25Speaker 7: beyond that, their offense is really scuffling.
- 36:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I think they could very easily win two out
- 36:30Speaker 1: of three in Detroit. But Earth is calling and I'm
- 36:33Speaker 1: sure they're going to return pretty soon, probably starting next weekend.
- 36:38Speaker 1: I will close the show with that. Thanks for watching
- 36:40Speaker 1: and listening. Everybody, Please like and subscribe and we'll see
- 36:44Speaker 1: you next time on Halu Territory
