- 4:10Speaker 1: get into today's cases. So today we will be covering
- 4:15Speaker 1: a case that, I mean has left so many people baffled,
- 4:21Speaker 1: the family, law enforcement, the community, and they have been
- 4:26Speaker 1: searching for answers for over a decade. Okay, guys, a decade.
- 4:33Speaker 1: This is the story of Bryce David Lesbisa. He is
- 4:38Speaker 1: a nineteen year old college student who vanished without a
- 4:42Speaker 1: trace in August twenty thirteen. And guys, Bryce was just
- 4:47Speaker 1: like any other young man. He had recently started his
- 4:51Speaker 1: sophomore year at Sierra College in Northern California, and he
- 4:55Speaker 1: was returning home to visit his family in Orange County.
- 5:00Speaker 1: But that trip, which should have been a routine four
- 5:04Speaker 1: hundred mile drive, ended in a mystery. And for those
- 5:08Speaker 1: of you that don't know California, northern California to get
- 5:13Speaker 1: to Orange County, that is over in southern cal So
- 5:16Speaker 1: So cal so it's quite a drive now. On August twelfth,
- 5:20Speaker 1: twenty thirteen, Bryce called his mother Karen around two am,
- 5:25Speaker 1: telling her he was too exhausted to continue driving and
- 5:30Speaker 1: he planned to pull over and rest. Now, like any family,
- 5:35Speaker 1: they worried about this, but they also trusted his judgment
- 5:40Speaker 1: and they just waited for a call from him to
- 5:43Speaker 1: say he was on his way. He had gotten some
- 5:45Speaker 1: breast and he was hitting the road. But guys, instead
- 5:49Speaker 1: of a hearing from Bryce, authorities found Bryce's car hours later.
- 5:55Speaker 1: It had been abandoned and it was crashed at the
- 5:59Speaker 1: bottom of a roof near Castaic Lake in California. Now,
- 6:05Speaker 1: all of Bryce's personal belongings, including his phone, wallet, and laptop,
- 6:12Speaker 1: were inside. There were no signs of Bryce. Guys, what
- 6:18Speaker 1: happened to Bryce? I mean, I can't help but think
- 6:22Speaker 1: how did he go from a typical college student driving
- 6:25Speaker 1: home to just completely disappearing in the span of just
- 6:31Speaker 1: a few hours.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Now.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Bryce was last seen wearing white cargo shorts, a blue
- 6:36Speaker 1: and white checkered shirt, and red and white Nike shoes.
- 6:40Speaker 1: He said about five eleven and he weighed about one
- 6:43Speaker 1: hundred and seventy pounds, and he had striking red hair,
- 6:47Speaker 1: He was a cute little ginger and blue eyes, and
- 6:50Speaker 1: he had a distinct tattoo of a tourist bullhead on
- 6:54Speaker 1: his left shoulder. Now, like I said, his disappearance has
- 6:59Speaker 1: left everyone with more questions than answers, And despite a
- 7:04Speaker 1: massive search effort, including aerial sweeps and ground searches around
- 7:10Speaker 1: Castaic Lake, no significant leads have emerged. And a decade later,
- 7:17Speaker 1: Bryce's case remains open and there's no signs of foul play,
- 7:23Speaker 1: But there's also no signs of Bryce. Now, what was
- 7:28Speaker 1: going on in Bryce's life leading up to his disappearance.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Friends did say they noted changes in his behavior in
- 7:36Speaker 1: the weeks prior. He had recently broken up with his girlfriend,
- 7:41Speaker 1: and he began giving away personal items, And these are
- 7:46Speaker 1: actions that concerned his loved ones and left people questioning
- 7:51Speaker 1: was he simply a young man under pressure or were
- 7:54Speaker 1: those red flags any of us that have.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Been young and in love. You know, when you.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Get your heart broken, you go through a period of
- 8:03Speaker 1: time of being depressed and you just act out different.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Can't say it ever gave away personal items, So I
- 8:12Speaker 1: wonder where those personal items, things that maybe the girlfriend
- 8:16Speaker 1: gave him and he just wanted to get rid of
- 8:18Speaker 1: them so he didn't have to look at him.
- 8:22Speaker 2: We don't know.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Like I said, his last known communication was with his mother,
- 8:27Speaker 1: and Guys, that's one of the more chilling aspects of
- 8:30Speaker 1: this case because Bryce told his mom he was pulling
- 8:34Speaker 1: over to sleep, but yet hours later his car is
- 8:38Speaker 1: found crashed, overturned, and no signs of him. So I
- 8:46Speaker 1: think the question remains, did Bryce walk away from the
- 8:50Speaker 1: crash on his own, did he meet with foul play,
- 8:55Speaker 1: or did he intentionally vanish because he wanted to disappear? Now,
- 9:02Speaker 1: this story is tragic, not only for the mystery that
- 9:05Speaker 1: surrounds Bryce's disappearance, but also with a heartache that his
- 9:10Speaker 1: family continues to endure. His mother, Karen, has publicly expressed
- 9:15Speaker 1: how desperately she wants answers. Now authorities lean toward the
- 9:21Speaker 1: theory that Bryce may have wanted to disappear, his mother,
- 9:26Speaker 1: Karen refuses to give up hope, and Bryce's family has
- 9:31Speaker 1: been tireless in their search, using social media in every
- 9:36Speaker 1: available resource to keep his story in the public eye.
- 9:40Speaker 1: They even maintain a Facebook page and they give updates
- 9:45Speaker 1: So find Bryce las pisa Is on Facebook, and they
- 9:51Speaker 1: are looking together any new information to help find Bryce.
- 9:57Speaker 1: So let's keep Bryce's name in store glory out there.
- 10:01Speaker 1: His family deserves answers, and Bryce serves to come home.
- 10:07Speaker 1: And if Bryce did go missing on his own, his
- 10:10Speaker 1: parents and his family a loved one want him to
- 10:13Speaker 1: know they love him. They want him to come home.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I'm not gonna ask questions. They just want him home.
- 10:20Speaker 1: So if you have any information about Bryce David Lasbisa,
- 10:26Speaker 1: no matter how small or insignificant may seem, please contact
- 10:32Speaker 1: the La County Sheriff's Department at eight one eight nine
- 10:37Speaker 1: eight four zero six three to zero. Also, please share
- 10:43Speaker 1: his missing person flyer that will be on our social
- 10:46Speaker 1: media this afternoon. Now, I'm gonna warn you this next
- 10:52Speaker 1: case is heart wrenching but also makes me furious. Okay,
- 11:04Speaker 1: So I'm gonna just warn you. I will try to
- 11:09Speaker 1: not give any rants, Okay. So. Vivian Eileen Trout is
- 11:15Speaker 1: a two year old girl who went missing from Miami Beach, Florida,
- 11:20Speaker 1: on April sixth, nineteen ninety seven. And guys, this is
- 11:24Speaker 1: a story of a family that has been torn apart,
- 11:29Speaker 1: and also a story about a father's decade long search
- 11:33Speaker 1: for his daughter. And it's a case that still haunts
- 11:38Speaker 1: investigators to this day. Vivian was effectually known as Mimi
- 11:47Speaker 1: to her family and friends, and she was just two
- 11:50Speaker 1: years old when she disappeared. She was a tiny girl
- 11:54Speaker 1: with blonde hair and brown eyes. She was a wee
- 11:57Speaker 1: thing at two foot nine and weighed about thirty three
- 12:01Speaker 1: and she had a bright smile, her large dimples always
- 12:06Speaker 1: visible when she grinned in a birthmark on her left hip.
- 12:11Speaker 1: She had pierced ears, and she spoke English fluently, understanding
- 12:17Speaker 1: some Spanish guys.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Just look at that picture of her.
- 12:21Speaker 1: What a cutie pie. But on April sixth, nineteen ninety seven,
- 12:27Speaker 1: Vivian's life changed forever, along with her families. Vivian was
- 12:33Speaker 1: abducted by her non custodial mother, Marina Trout, during what
- 12:40Speaker 1: was supposed to be a supervised visit. You heard me right, supervised.
- 12:49Speaker 1: So Marina is a woman with a troubled history and
- 12:53Speaker 1: she was only allowed limited monitored time with her daughter,
- 12:59Speaker 1: but she managed to take advantage of a five minute
- 13:03Speaker 1: lapse in supervision to escape with Vivian. And here's what
- 13:08Speaker 1: we know so far. The day was like any other.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Vivian was scheduled to spend a supervised visit with her mother, Marina,
- 13:17Speaker 1: in the one thousand block of Lennox Avenue in Miami Beach.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Marina had a history of previous abduction attempts. You heard
- 13:26Speaker 1: me right, previous abduction attempts, and as a result, she
- 13:31Speaker 1: was only permitted supervised visits with her daughter. But guys,
- 13:38Speaker 1: on that fateful afternoon, Marina was given an opportunity, and
- 13:44Speaker 1: she took it. Just five minutes into the visit, when
- 13:50Speaker 1: the supervisor briefly left to use the bathroom, she left
- 13:55Speaker 1: Marina alone with Vivian. Marina acted. She locked the supervisor
- 14:02Speaker 1: inside the room, fled with her daughter, and disappeared. Okay, guys,
- 14:09Speaker 1: I told you I was going to try not to rant.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Supervised visitation means the child never is out of your sight.
- 14:20Speaker 1: If you have to go to the restroom, the child
- 14:23Speaker 1: goes with you in a different stall, or you go
- 14:26Speaker 1: into a restroom with the door locked, or you do something,
- 14:30Speaker 1: but you do not take your eyes off that child.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Five minutes and this woman abducted her child. And by
- 14:38Speaker 1: the time the supervisor managed to pry open a window
- 14:42Speaker 1: and call for help, Marina and Vivian were gone. The
- 14:49Speaker 1: police were called immediately and a search began, but no one,
- 14:54Speaker 1: not Marina's mother nor any of Marina's acquaintances, claimed no
- 15:00Speaker 1: where she or Vivian have gone. Guys, I mean, I
- 15:05Speaker 1: am sure that supervisor feels awful. Okay, And maybe the
- 15:12Speaker 1: laws were different back then, and maybe the rules where oh,
- 15:15Speaker 1: you're in the same building.
- 15:16Speaker 2: It's fine.
- 15:17Speaker 1: I'm here to tell you supervised means you do not
- 15:21Speaker 1: take your eyes off the child. Now, this investigation has
- 15:26Speaker 1: spanned more than two decades. It has gone from Miami
- 15:30Speaker 1: Beach to Mexico, California, New York and beyond. Now, John Trout,
- 15:38Speaker 1: Vivian's father, has tiresly searched for his daughter ever since
- 15:44Speaker 1: that day in nineteen ninety seven. Guys, I want you
- 15:48Speaker 1: to stop and think about the heartbreak this man. He
- 15:52Speaker 1: trusted the system. This is a woman who had previous
- 15:57Speaker 1: failed abduction attempts. She was given five minutes. It didn't
- 16:02Speaker 1: take that long. Two minutes, she was out of there. Now,
- 16:06Speaker 1: John criticizes the government for what he calls a mishandling
- 16:10Speaker 1: of the case, and at one point he even accused
- 16:13Speaker 1: him of losing his daughter's case file. Okay, he says
- 16:17Speaker 1: copies of that file were stolen from his home during
- 16:20Speaker 1: a burglary, and no other items were taken. So John,
- 16:26Speaker 1: I am on your side, and I think you have
- 16:30Speaker 1: every right to be furious, and I hope you sued
- 16:36Speaker 1: whoever was in charge of that supervision, whatever agency it was,
- 16:40Speaker 1: because they did not do their job. Now, authorities believe
- 16:46Speaker 1: Marina may have fled with Vivian to another country, possibly Mexico, Spain,
- 16:52Speaker 1: or Costa Rica. Now there's also been rumors that she
- 16:57Speaker 1: may have connections in South America. Marina, who's forty three
- 17:02Speaker 1: years old at the time of the adduction, guy's very
- 17:05Speaker 1: distinct feature. She has a glass right eye and spoke
- 17:10Speaker 1: fluent English with a very heavy Spanish accent. She also
- 17:17Speaker 1: has used multiple aliases, including Juana Marina Lopez, Marina Savon,
- 17:25Speaker 1: Marina Lopez Trout. Now, the possibilities of where Marina and
- 17:31Speaker 1: Vivian could be are endless, but even after all these years,
- 17:38Speaker 1: John believes his daughter is still out there somewhere.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Now.
- 17:43Speaker 1: I couldn't find why, but Texas authorities have also joined
- 17:46Speaker 1: the investigation in hopes of bringing Vivian home, and guys
- 17:53Speaker 1: for John Trout imagine the pain of losing his daughter,
- 17:56Speaker 1: how unbearable. Here he had custody of her, was protecting her,
- 18:03Speaker 1: and he trusted whatever government agency court appointed supervisor. He
- 18:08Speaker 1: trusted them, and they failed. He has spoken out publicly
- 18:13Speaker 1: sharing his frustration with how the case has been handled.
- 18:16Speaker 1: He has spent over twenty five years searching and hoping
- 18:21Speaker 1: for a miracle, and yet, guys, nothing. Vivian would now
- 18:27Speaker 1: be thirty years old, and she too may go by
- 18:31Speaker 1: several aliases, maybe Mimi Lopez, Mimi Garza, Margarita or Teco
- 18:38Speaker 1: or Vivian Lopez Garcia. Now he continues to ask the
- 18:43Speaker 1: public for help in locating Vivian. He believes someone, someone
- 18:49Speaker 1: knows where she is and that person holds the key
- 18:53Speaker 1: to reuniting them. And he clings to hope, hoping that
- 18:59Speaker 1: Vivian one day will hear her story, see her father's
- 19:03Speaker 1: tireless efforts, and come home. Guys, I also hope he
- 19:09Speaker 1: or someone in the family has done a twenty three
- 19:11Speaker 1: and me and ancestry dot com, because have we asked
- 19:15Speaker 1: swe for herd before people can find their loved ones
- 19:20Speaker 1: that way. So I hope Vivian finds her father that
- 19:25Speaker 1: has never stopped looking for her, and I hope her
- 19:28Speaker 1: mother is caught, and I hope she has punished, and
- 19:32Speaker 1: I hope and pray that Vivian has had a good life.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Because guys, this story has remained unsolved for too long.
- 19:44Speaker 1: And just think about it. She was taken from her
- 19:47Speaker 1: father and it's been twenty five years. Can you imagine
- 19:52Speaker 1: holding on to hope and fighting every day to find
- 19:57Speaker 1: your child. So us to do our part. Let's not
- 20:02Speaker 1: let this case be forgotten. Share her story, spread the word,
- 20:07Speaker 1: share the flyer that we're gonna have on social media,
- 20:11Speaker 1: Share this video. Let's get it out there across the world.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Maybe they're living in a small community in Costa Rica.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Let's get it out there. Somebody knows something, and I
- 20:25Speaker 1: am going to tell Marina's family. If you know something
- 20:30Speaker 1: and you haven't come forward, shame on you for letting
- 20:35Speaker 1: this child grow up without her father. Okay, every small
- 20:43Speaker 1: detail matters, So let's do our part to help John
- 20:48Speaker 1: bring Vivian home. If you know anything about the whereabouts
- 20:55Speaker 1: of Vivian or her mother, you can contact the Miami
- 20:59Speaker 1: Police Apartment at three oh five six seven three seven
- 21:04Speaker 1: seven seven six, or the Miami Beach Police Department at
- 21:12Speaker 1: three oh five six seven three seventy nine hundred, or
- 21:17Speaker 1: since the Texas Department has gotten involved, you can also
- 21:21Speaker 1: reach out to them at eight hundred three four six
- 21:26Speaker 1: three two four three. Guys, this infuriates me that this
- 21:33Speaker 1: father has had to go without knowing what happened for
- 21:38Speaker 1: all these years. And imagine how much more it hurts
- 21:42Speaker 1: that this is a woman you had a child with.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Not only did you hurt your child, you hurt her
- 21:49Speaker 1: father in every one of those family members.
- 21:53Speaker 2: So let's share.
- 21:56Speaker 1: So today I don't have any helpful tips. I don't
- 22:00Speaker 1: have a cute little story that I've written. I wanted
- 22:03Speaker 1: to instead share a story that I read this morning
- 22:07Speaker 1: because I thought it would make a perfect palate cleanser
- 22:11Speaker 1: and because it made me feel all warm and fuzzy
- 22:13Speaker 1: on a Monday morning. So every morning, while I drink coffee,
- 22:18Speaker 1: I have a process okay, versa stumble out of bed,
- 22:22Speaker 1: pour myself a cup of ambition. Okay, wait a minute,
- 22:26Speaker 1: that's a song that's Dolly pardon Sorry, just kidding. I
- 22:31Speaker 1: do stumble out of bed and I grab a cup
- 22:33Speaker 1: of coffee. Then I head out to the randa of
- 22:36Speaker 1: the porch to enjoy my coffee while scrolling Okay, yes,
- 22:41Speaker 1: Sammy Sunshine nine to five. I could sing the whole
- 22:45Speaker 1: song for you, guys, but I don't know how to sing.
- 22:48Speaker 1: So I first start with People Magazine and guys, well,
- 22:53Speaker 1: I don't know why. I don't have a reason, it's
- 22:55Speaker 1: just where I start. Then I go to Apple News.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Once I all of the news, jump over to Facebook, Instagram.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Then I head over to Discord to see what is
- 23:06Speaker 1: happening in the courtyard community. And then to wrap it up,
- 23:09Speaker 1: I look at my bird camera to see what birds
- 23:12Speaker 1: have shown up since yesterday. Well, today got to People
- 23:18Speaker 1: and I came across this story and I got all
- 23:22Speaker 1: warm and fuzzy when reading about two women who started
- 23:27Speaker 1: Friendly City Florals in late twenty twenty three. One of
- 23:31Speaker 1: the founders had lost a father and one had welcomed
- 23:35Speaker 1: a new daughter, and they saw that they had so
- 23:37Speaker 1: many flowers and they realized that maybe they could be
- 23:43Speaker 1: repurposed so that others could enjoy them. So, guys, they
- 23:48Speaker 1: reached out to wedding venues, event planners and florists who
- 23:56Speaker 1: have flowers left over, and what they wanted to do
- 23:59Speaker 1: was take the older arrangements repurpose them, remake them, and
- 24:05Speaker 1: then they deliver them to hospice centers, hospitals and senior
- 24:10Speaker 1: communities and guys. To date, they have gifted over eight
- 24:16Speaker 1: hundred bouquets each in donated vases. Guys, I want you
- 24:22Speaker 1: to stop and think about weddings. You spend a buttload
- 24:26Speaker 1: of money on flowers and what happens afterwards. A lot
- 24:31Speaker 1: of times they go in the trash if people don't
- 24:33Speaker 1: take them home. So the fact that they repurpose them
- 24:37Speaker 1: is amazing. In the article, the women talk about how
- 24:42Speaker 1: they feel they're making a difference by bringing light to others.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Like I said, since so many of these arrangements would
- 24:49Speaker 1: wind up in the trash and guys, I freaking love
- 24:53Speaker 1: everything about this. I'm a huge flower person. Back when
- 24:57Speaker 1: I was a single mom and I lived in Houston,
- 25:00Speaker 1: I go down to the flower district on Payday and
- 25:02Speaker 1: I would buy myself flowers whole cell costs and make
- 25:05Speaker 1: arrangements because flowers bring so much joy.
- 25:09Speaker 2: And like to people.
- 25:11Speaker 1: If you're a flower person. And they had this about
- 25:15Speaker 1: one resident out of facility who is ninety five told
- 25:19Speaker 1: people that the flowers add so much to our lives.
- 25:22Speaker 2: The beauty and the fragrance.
- 25:25Speaker 1: She said, they're so alive and it helps us feel
- 25:28Speaker 1: more alive too. Guys, does that not just make you?
- 25:36Speaker 1: It just does? Okay, So I want to say hats
- 25:40Speaker 1: off to Laura, Ruth and Rebecca Shelley. You have done
- 25:44Speaker 1: an amazing thing and I hope that by sharing this
