- 0:07[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the Dog's Podcast with your hosts, Lake Renaker, Justin Charles, and Josh All.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, what's up, Browns fans?
- 0:19[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome back to another episode of The Dogs podcast, Josh All, and I got Kenny Mac with me today.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_02]: Whoo-hoo-hoo, let's go, baby.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_02]: That's right, me and Kenny, we are coming back as promised, free agency, preview, part two, free agency as we know, opens up here in just a few days, Monday, the legal tampering period.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_02]: It is Monday, right?
- 0:40[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's Monday's when that opens up in the newly gear.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_02]: officially begins on Wednesday.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_02]: So these deals and everything, the big deals that will be announced Monday until it will be made official on Wednesday and free agency is underway.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll see what the Browns obviously we've already made the trade for Titus Howard.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_02]: Started rebuilding that offensive line.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_02]: We've got some signing to do.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_02]: in free agency and then obviously the draft as well.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_02]: So we got a little bit of news to go over real quick before we get started and then we'll dive into that free agency preview.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_02]: Before we do remind everybody if you want to be part of the dog pack community and you want to join our private discord, head to join the dogs dot com hang out with everybody in there be part of the dog pack discord live episodes and get in early for the fancy football leagues which will be.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's crazy, but here we are, it's March, and you know we start putting the feelers out and the registration for fantasy leagues in June, so only a few months away from that, so that's join thedogs.com.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so can he's going to help me through the news here, the first bit, the Browns have tendered six of their seven exclusive rights free agents, so that would be tight end Brendan Bates, wider severs, Malachi, Corley, and Jamari Thrash,
- 1:52[SPEAKER_02]: Linebacker Winston Reed, Longsnap or Rex Soonahara and Kicker, Andre Schmidt, the only guy who did not get tendered was Cornerback Anthony Kendall.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_02]: So, there we go, Kenny, how are you feeling about these tendered exclusive rights for agents?
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: It's pretty much a no-brainer to get these guys the main thing is I'm feeling way better about my special teams right now.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: I mean with Smith, Sahara, I mean those are those are Sahara.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: Those are guys that are, you know, we're a great part of the team last year and they can only continue to build.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_00]: and they can help our new guy store get to where he needs to be and from what I've seen from store, I mean he's a guy that has developed the kickers, developed the punters, so that's good.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully we get a good kick return.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: I mean this may be something poorly can help with.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: maybe he can be a gunner, you know, Winston Reed does really well in the special teams.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: So a lot of times when I'm looking and we'll get into the free agents.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: I'm looking to see if they play special teams because that was a throwing on our side last year.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: And like what I see with those guys, but yeah, no brainer getting these guys to one year minimums.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, absolutely, and they're all very, I mean, they're, they use it.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_02]: One year minimum deals, very low costs and everything else, which kind of leads me to the next thing we can talk about, speaking of very low cost, this news came out the other day, put out a short video about it afterward.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_02]: But the Arizona Cardinals have informed Kyler Murray their quarterback that they're going to release him.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_02]: New League your starts on Wednesday.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_02]: So he's going to be a free agent and he's going to be literally a free agent.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_02]: This guy, the Cardinals, whenever we talk about this situation with Colour Murray, he think about the Broncos with Russell Wilson when the Steelers signed him.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_02]: So the Broncos cut Russell Wilson, they ate.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_02]: They had to eat all that dead cap and everything, but they were doing it.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_02]: So they didn't have to pay the guaranteed money that was owed the following year, all that stuff.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_02]: The Steelers got to sign Russell Wilson for the Vett minimum, $1.21 million.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_02]: Colour Murray can be signed for the Vett minimum, $1.3 million this year.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_02]: So, essentially on an NFL salary cap, that's a free player.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_02]: That's a for a quarterback.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_02]: You're basically not even paying him.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_02]: So, what are your thoughts about Colour Murray?
- 4:09[SPEAKER_02]: Would he be a fit for the Browns?
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: My initial thought was like if a guy needs to have video games or no video game playing Written into his contract no thanks, but the guy the fantasy guy in me the guy that put some on my teams because you can get yards He can get points.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: I had to really think about this and I'm still not like
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: I guess if it was worth more money, I'd be more apprehensive, but the way that you put it, because I didn't hear what you said when you put out your content or earlier today or last yesterday, but that $1.3 million for what he can do.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: is very tantalizing number one.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: Number two, I just keep hearing Todd Munkin in my head, and I think it was the HBO interview that he did talking about off-scrept or off-schedule plays, and man, if there's anything.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: that that guy can do is those plays and, you know, monkeys looking for that trait with a player to sign them and exploit that one elite talent.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: And I think we can all agree.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: Kylo Murray has the lead talent of off-skirt, off-schedule plays.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, for sure.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, I said in my video the other day, like, I've never been the biggest Kyler Murray fan.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, but I also can't deny that he's a good quarterback.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_02]: He can play very high level quarterback play in the NFL.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_02]: It's just, it's more about consistency for me.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_02]: And just,
- 5:38[SPEAKER_02]: being able to, again, consistently elevate the players around you and be at that high level as a quarterback that's been a little bit up and down for Kyler Murray, but man for 1.3 vet minimum, that would almost be like a no-brainer for the Browns if and this is where it all comes into play if you actually wanted to come here because
- 6:00[SPEAKER_02]: Color Murray is obviously going to have a lot of people lining up, you know, his agent's phone is going to be blowing up on Wednesday or probably already with team saying, hey, we would like to talk to you guys about coming in here.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_02]: And I think the Vikings have been the biggest team.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_02]: The team I've seen the most linked to him.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I would say he would, they would be the biggest draw with the weapons that they have.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: Why would you not go there?
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you could go maybe to the jets.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: They could maybe, they could offer more money.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: They have Garrett Wilson.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: They have Bruce Hall, right?
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: They have some weapons, but I mean, the jets have been the jets.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: And that's, you know, coming from a Browns fan, right?
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know,
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: He's kind of does have the pick of his litter just a bit because there are cubic needy teams.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see what happens, but it'll always be the question of leadership.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: You mentioned the inconsistency that probably has to do with, you know, putting in his contract that you need to study your playbook more, play video games, you know what I mean?
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: So, and then maybe you'll be more consistent and maybe that'll make him grow up and maybe you'll
- 7:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you never know.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, so Colour Murray definitely switching teams here this off season.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_02]: Then the last bit of news for the Brown specifically, we did cut Cornelius Lucas the offensive tackle that we signed last year in free agency, which I was a guy I was really excited about.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_02]: I thought, hey, you know, what he had done in Washington with the commanders was really good.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_02]: been a backup but also a spot starter and when he did have to come in and start he could play both left or right and he created out very well and then we signed him and he sucked.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how to say it.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_02]: He was just absolutely flat out terrible.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_02]: Was a healthy and active most of the season.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_02]: So definitely saw this one coming.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_02]: I think the Browns clear up like $1.8 million in the cap or something like that.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_02]: Either way, Cornelius Lucas was not going to be on this roster again.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, didn't play well, you know, wish him the best.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: Just didn't work out for his one year here.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: And he's off to somewhere else, and we're off to something new.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yep, just another one of the offensive linemen who mysteriously just suddenly aged out in Cleveland.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_02]: So you had Cornelius Lucas and Jack Conclin and Wyatt Teller and Ethan Posick and Joel Bittonio somehow all aged out at the same exact time.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_02]: Something tells me there's might have been something to do with the offensive system that all these guys suddenly can't play football anymore, which I just don't believe it.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_02]: I don't buy it.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: It'll be interesting to see where these guys go and how they're their careers transform into good or bad or probably good.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_02]: Probably good.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_02]: Well, was that it for the news?
- 8:53[SPEAKER_02]: Remind me of was there anything I was forgetting there?
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: now I don't think so.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe I'll bring something up in the end and then we'll we'll go from there.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we'll see what that has to be then.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll kick it over to this free agency preview part two.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_02]: Last time, if you guys missed that episode, go back and check it out.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_02]: We had a lot of good.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_02]: We focused primarily on the offense, offensive line, wider severs, tight ends, things like that.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_02]: And today, I know I focused,
- 9:20[SPEAKER_02]: solely on defense.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_02]: I think can you got one or two offensive guys right today and can that all over the map?
- 9:26[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's fine things everywhere.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I will say that I continued from last episode just quick just quick high-moeder high effort guys mentally tough guys smart players who can execute under pressure versus all players with at least one elite trait
- 9:44[SPEAKER_00]: team first players who love football.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: If you guys remember, I just took that away from Munkin's presser basically.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: And the simplest way to describe it is, you know, they're not just talented, they just don't have the metrics that we just saw everybody go through at the combine.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: They're tough, accountable, intelligent, and obsessed with improving.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: And the main thing is they own up to their mistakes.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, those are definitely the type of players we need in Cleveland.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_02]: So who's the first one on your list?
- 10:10[SPEAKER_02]: I'll let you kick things off today.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Nick Westbrook in kind.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: I think he says name.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's a DNA.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: A DNA is it?
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, okay.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's like being jerk seven German on that.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: Anyways, so I could be wrong to.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know for sure.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I did follow the the Dolphins last year and I in this previous team before that, but he's a guy that's 28 years old and he's 6 to 111 pounds.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_00]: So he's a solid dude.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: He's a receiver.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: He was undrafted from Indiana.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: 93 games in his career.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: He has 103.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: sorry, 137 receptions, 1862 yards, but it's 19 touchdowns, which is pretty impressive.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: So pretty much split time started off with the Titans, like I said, on drafted free agent, I had the dolphins last year.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: This guy, he's got strength, consistently, can catch the ball and contested catches with that six-do frame, no for scoring TDs, and that's always good because
- 11:15[SPEAKER_00]: So his red zone efficiency guys in 2024 just 32 catches nine touchdowns that's really a bump them up on the touchdown scale vertical and he does have some explosive plays you also average 15.5 yards a catch in 2024 the biggest thing though with him
- 11:37[SPEAKER_00]: I was frequently used, especially with the Titans in heavy run personnel.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I like.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: He's a willing perimeter blocker, and he has had some really good blocking games.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_00]: His weakness, guys, I don't want to get too much into it.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_00]: He's not on a high end route runner, or doesn't really...
- 11:56[SPEAKER_00]: break with burst, but I mean, I'm not looking for him to be a number one receiver here.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_00]: What I have is a guy that's going to be our fifth, maybe six receiver if we keep six receiver.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be a core special teamer.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: I'm hoping he's going to be a guy that's a gunner, a guy that can tackle.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_00]: And you know what, if we have one of our,
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: high-end receivers are injured, it looks like he can throw some yards off of the game.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_00]: And all I really want to do is beat like a cadero-hodge.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he was a guy that could pop in, or offense when somebody was hurt, he could get it first down, he would catch the ball.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_00]: He would know where he's supposed to be, you know, another guy completely different position, but was Deerna's Johnson.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: He was just a serviceable veteran, and that's I think what we need to solidify our special teams.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't know how many times Josh has said, it's a guy that we just don't have developed yet.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what we're buying for a money.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_00]: Previously, he had a contract.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_00]: It was two years, 6.25 million.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's about the same market value for him.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_00]: So that kind of fits in Barry's wheelhouse.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_00]: So overall with this guy,
- 13:07[SPEAKER_00]: Route discipline, reliable hands, effort blocking, which is big because if you don't play a lot, but you know how to block as a receiver, that's good.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: And if a quarterback gets injured too, if you can block, it's awesome.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, he's a mentally tough guy, undrafted from Indianapolis, made the Titans.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_00]: He's got a second contract with another team.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: He's been through it all.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_00]: So this is a guy that I'd love to have.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my team.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yep, like you've said, definitely not one of your top-wide receivers.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of like he's a jag.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_02]: He's just a guy, but he's a good jag.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_02]: You know, he's like everything you just detailed to have him on your roster to come in and help support the receivers that are above him on the depth chart.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_02]: And like you said, the versatility on the special teams is really good.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_02]: So I like that call.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_02]: We'll just say Nick Westbrook because I don't know if it's a keyna or however you said it.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_02]: But either way,
- 14:00[SPEAKER_02]: could be a good option and definitely a low cost option for the Browns.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm going to move over to the corner back position because like I said, didn't do a whole lot of defensive players at all last time.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm going to go back to the secondary corner back.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_02]: I got two guys I'm going to talk about real quick.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_02]: So the first one is Roger McCreary.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_02]: He's 5 foot 11, 190, 26 years old.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_02]: Drafted by the Tennessee Titans in 2022.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_02]: He was an early second round pick.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_02]: They took him 35th overall.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_02]: He got traded to the Rams in October this past season for a late-round pick swap.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_02]: And then he missed like four games with a hip injury.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_02]: They play some on IR and then he came back, week 18.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_02]: And then he played very well during the Rams playoff run.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_02]: He graded out highly on PFF.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_02]: He has 72.1 defense grade 68.6 against the run, 63 grade again, era for tackling and then a 72 in coverage.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_02]: and he's primarily a slot corner.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_02]: So he would fit well in the depth chart with board and Campbell on the outside and Spotrack has him projected for a two year, $12.3 million deal.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_02]: It's $6.2 million per year.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that's a good fit in that circumstance.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_02]: With those other outside corners, there's a Roger McCreary as a name I've got my eye on.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_02]: And then the second guy here, this is somebody I definitely think has a strong chance of ending up in Cleveland this year, and it's D-Alford, the free agent corner back from the Falcons.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_02]: He played in my root and bird's, uh, root and bird's secondary the last year, five foot 11, 175.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_02]: So he's a thinner, smaller, built corner back 28 years old.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_02]: Atlanta signed him as a UDFA in 2022.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_02]: So there you go, Kenny, there's your mentally tough UDFA guy coming in here and earning his spot and he's keeping everything for several seasons.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_02]: It looks like he's either started.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_02]: or at least been a high snap count player for the Falcons every season, and like McCreeery Alford plays primarily in the slot.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_02]: He actually had two sacks in 2025.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_02]: Side note, I'm actually really excited to see what Root & Burr adds to the defense with his expertise in the secondary and disguising coverage.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_02]: being more attacking from that side of the defense.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see, Alfred, 56 tackles, three interceptions, three pass breakups, and two touchdowns allowed last season, and Spotrack has them projected to a two year, $11.8 million deal at $5.9 million per year.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_02]: So again, fits that lower cost, but can come in and have an impact on the defense.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that a D-Alfred, one of Mike Routenberg's guys in the past could definitely be
- 16:38[SPEAKER_02]: This episode is partnered with Kaoshi.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_02]: Browns fans are you ready to put your money where your predictions are, with Kaoshi, America's number one regulated prediction marky you can legally trade on events that actually matter to you.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_02]: And the best part is you don't need to predict specific stat lines and compile a seven-legged parlay just to win big.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_02]: With Kaoshi the objective is either yes or no.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_02]: Will Shidorah Sanders be the Browns week one starting quarterback?
- 17:04[SPEAKER_02]: Will Fernando Mendoza be the first overall pick in the draft?
- 17:07[SPEAKER_02]: Will the Browns make their pick at six or will they trade out of that spot?
- 17:11[SPEAKER_02]: And in other sports, will the calves win the NBA Finals?
- 17:14[SPEAKER_02]: You can put your money on these predictions and more with CalShe if you want to try it out.

- 17:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, 100% agree with you.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_00]: I actually did some stuff on him as well.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_00]: I pretty much have everything you had.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_00]: I actually didn't go with them just based on his size, but I love how you went for the nickel position, because that's something we have had done very well.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_00]: But I'll move transition in the mind.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_00]: I actually did his teammate Isaiah Oliver.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and you know what?
- 18:10[SPEAKER_00]: You and I are, you know, we've been through this before.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_00]: You put together who was comfortable with their previous coaches.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_00]: for Isaiah Oliver, I got him at Corner, obviously, but I got him at the nickel slot, hybrid DB, so he can kind of play all over the place, which would help you disguise defenses if you don't really know where he exactly is going to play.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_00]: Um, he is a guy that's been in the league for seven years.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_00]: He's drafted 2018 second round, played for the Falcons and he's played for the 49ers.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_00]: And, um, this guy pretty good stats.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, 90 games, 65 starts, 320 tackles, 7 interceptions, 35 pass breakups.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_00]: He, when he was in San Francisco, he played that hybrid role, so he was basically a nickel corner, dime safety, he matched up against Titan's very well, which is something that you need in the AFC North.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_00]: He's a bigger corner, which I like.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_00]: If he's gonna play, if he's the guy that we select for the slot or the nickel, I mean, that's something being big might be something that would be advantageous for us as far as his run defense.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_00]: Looks like he's a very physical defender.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_00]: He's very comfortable, sets the edge well, tackles in space, plays downhill, and that's something that Munkin said in his interviews.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_00]: Skin versatility, he can play man.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think they did a lot and recover three,
- 19:39[SPEAKER_00]: But I think we're going to stay in that and then he does pattern that zones, dime packages.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_00]: So that's the experience that fits that root and burg style, which he came from.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_00]: So there are some limitations, but again, I don't expect him really to start.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_00]: He's not a burner.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_00]: He had ACL in 2021.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_00]: He has some outside corner limitations, why he sticks more inside.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_00]: I see this guy again, he's going to be getting something maybe about the same deal that to all-fords getting, so that's a guy again that would just hunker down our secondary, just in case somebody gets injured, but the main thing, it's a guy that if we don't get dealford, he's a guy that could solidify our nickel position.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_00]: And hell, maybe why not treat ourselves?
- 20:26[SPEAKER_00]: Let's take him both.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_02]: And that's right, why not?
- 20:30[SPEAKER_02]: We can, you can never have enough DBs.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_02]: They get hurt, and things happen, and then whenever you start going to the depth pieces, I mean, I don't want Miles Harden being the top of my depth.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_02]: I need somebody else to be able to come in and fill in because I just don't believe in what he's shown so far in my perspective.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_00]: I just didn't know with my guy, I couldn't find enough information on him.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_00]: If he was a special teams player, I didn't look at my PFF metrics yet.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: One thing I could tell you about D Allford though, he did play with the Winnipeg Blue Bomber, so it came out of the CFL.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_00]: I believe he was a kick returner there and he has returned some kicks, so he had some value there as well that I really liked, slightly faster guy because he's smaller.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_00]: But either way, I mean, if you're backing up in the NFL these days and you're not playing special teams, probably won't be with a team very long.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_02]: I'm looking at it right now, Kenny, and last year for the jets, he played on 75% of the special team snaps.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, great.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_02]: 100 total snaps on special teams.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_02]: That's the most of his career.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_02]: The year before that, he played 150, the year before that 169.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_02]: So he's always been like in the 30 to 40% snap range on special teams, but last year did bump up to 75% so he's definitely been on that side or that unit for those guys.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, okay, great.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_00]: So it looks like, you know, it could be a guy that hunkers down that nickel position and then be a core special teamer for us.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_00]: So let's fantastic.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm going to move into my other guy and I'm sticking.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_02]: This is my last secondary guy for the show today, but we desperately need a safety.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_02]: You know, even if we do, I know Ronnie, Ronnie Hickman is a restricted free agent.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_02]: So we could place a tender on him.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_02]: Another team could offer him a deal.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_02]: We'd have a chance to match it or beat it or whatever to then bring him back to us.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_02]: But it's not a locked-in guarantee that Ronnie Hickman will be back.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_02]: And even if he is, we need somebody in that second area, the safety position along with Grant Delpit.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm going to swing a little bit bigger here for the Browns at this position, because I think it's important.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm going to go with Kevin Byrd, 511, 212, 32 years old.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_02]: So this would go away from the younger trajectory of the team.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_02]: But you also can't have all your guys be 25 years.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_02]: or under, you know what I'm saying?
- 22:49[SPEAKER_02]: So, Buyer, this dude is a stud.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_02]: He has been a stud for years.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_02]: He spent seven years with the Titan spent part of 2023 in Philadelphia.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_02]: And the last two seasons in Chicago with the Bears, he's a three time first team all pro, three time pro bowl or two time NFL interceptions leader, something we don't do very well in Cleveland or haven't.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_02]: This guy can do it all.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_02]: High tackle numbers.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, at 100 tackles in 2024, 77.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_02]: This past season in 2025.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_02]: Seven picks, two pass break ups.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_02]: He can fill that free safety roll with delpit playing in the box, but buyer can also come down into the box as well.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_02]: And he's played a lot of snaps in the slot.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_02]: So,
- 23:31[SPEAKER_02]: He's very versatile.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_02]: He can line up in different places in the second dairy for the defense.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_02]: And the great part is with his age and at the point he isn't his career.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_02]: His contract, at least according to SpotTrack, would be easily manageable by the Browns.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_02]: They have in projected for a two year 15.6 million dollar deal.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_02]: So that's about seven point eight million per year.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_02]: This would fit well with the way that we're building the team right now and to me.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_02]: This kind of assigning would be very similar to what the Browns did last year when they signed a 30-year-old named Malik Collins to a two-year-20-million-dollar deal and that pound out very well for the Browns at a position they needed help at.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_02]: So I think Kevin Byrd could fill the same type of role in the second area this season.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's interesting that you picked that guy because I love the secondary position and a veteran and we did that with Ronnie McLeod man or yeah and it was he really settled that secondary down well and I think that's this is a guy that could do the exact same
- 24:30[SPEAKER_00]: different way different player than Ronnie, but I mean his turnover neck, I mean if you know anything you've seen this guy on sports desk with his highlight intersections turning some tied to the game over to help his team get a win.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think that would be fantastic for our backfield, our defensive backfield is where I want to say and he's a guy that maybe could let Delpit play closer to the
- 24:59[SPEAKER_00]: A line of scrimmage would help our run support as well.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I really liked that one man and it's a position I was hoping to look into it and just couldn't settle on a safety, but I just guess I missed him.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I was doing the same thing kind of going through the list.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_02]: And I just kept coming back to Byrd and his accolades and what he's done in the NFL.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_02]: And I said, screw it.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go, let's go a little bit bigger here.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_02]: Now again, it's not in the enormous contract that we'd be on the hook for with him.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_02]: But it would be similar to what they did with Millie Collins last year was they they paid him a little bit more than maybe people were expecting for a little bit older of a player and all that stuff.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_02]: But man did he ever come in here and solidify that defensive interior on the line.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_02]: So that's what I'm looking for them to do.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_02]: in the secondary, that free safety position.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and again, we need players for the defense.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_00]: And that's huge.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I got a defensive guy next.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_00]: I have, I have co-hulcom from the steelers last year.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_00]: He's a guy that's done played very well for him, but if you think about it, just having the guy that 6, 1, 240 pounds sounds like a thumper.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's 29 years old.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_00]: He's a little bit older than what Barry wants to sign, but it's like he said you can't have
- 26:05[SPEAKER_00]: 24, 25 year olds.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's it's not the way.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_00]: Plus, I mean, a veteran for our crew would be ideal.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_00]: I would think this guy was drafted in 2019 round five out of North Carolina, who's drafted by Washington.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_00]: I believe this guy's a three down linebacker and sign with Pittsburgh and the
- 26:25[SPEAKER_00]: 2023.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_00]: Main strengths with this guy is tackling machine that tackles a very high rate.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_00]: And I know we've had some struggles tackling, especially I feel like every game, Josh, I'm like, can we not tackle somebody in the flats?
- 26:40[SPEAKER_00]: It drives me bonkers.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_00]: And this guy flows side-light in the sideline very well, which is stuff that I kind of hear in Monkton's pressers about Root and Burke.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 26:51[SPEAKER_00]: Diagnosis is run very quickly, good pursuit angles.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_00]: This guy comes to ability wise with coverage, super good in his own drops, I has produced interceptions as well, motor and toughness.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the guy plays through traffic.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_00]: He's a high effort defender.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_00]: And this is what coaches love, right?
- 27:09[SPEAKER_00]: Injury history has been a week.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_00]: at a point for him, but again, it's not a guy that I don't, I don't know if I'm necessarily signing him this start.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_00]: I just need some depth from this guy.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_00]: He's not a true athlete either.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_00]: He's more instinctive, but I mean, if he's sideline the sideline, that's good enough for me.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_00]: And if he's slightly over-aggressive, I'm okay with that.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we want aggressive guys.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_00]: You've heard it from monkeys say it over and over in his pressures.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_00]: We want to,
- 27:37[SPEAKER_00]: be violent and this guy is a violent guy.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_00]: The biggest thing about his injury history, I guess he suffered serious knee injury, significant ligament damage.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_00]: So he missed most of the 2023 season, but it seemed to be okay the last couple of seasons for Pittsburgh.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_00]: So his previous contract when he was with the Steelers, just so he can get a
- 28:02[SPEAKER_00]: idea of it, about $6 million a year.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_00]: Now, you're maybe more pivoting to 4 million a year with some incentives up to five.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_00]: So I would just do a one year, prove it deal with him till we can figure some stuff out in the linebacker area, but for the most part, I think Ruthenberg is looking for fast linebackers are
- 28:24[SPEAKER_00]: from what I read, sideline, sideline, it's stint of player.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_00]: We went over that aggressive downhill traits which he can diagnose those run plays and he's a reliable tackler.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_00]: So it's a guy that I think can also perform in special teams.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_00]: And I think he'd be a good contributor for this team if something were to happen were maybe questions you're couldn't play for a bit.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_02]: Nope, I like that call for Cole Holcomb for sure.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm glad you moved into linebacker.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_02]: So I've got three players remaining here on my list to talk about all three or linebackers.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm just gonna run through all three of them real quick and then my list is wrapped up for the day.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_02]: But obviously, to kick off my linebacker discussion, I want Devon Bush back at linebacker, but if they can get him back,
- 29:16[SPEAKER_02]: We do need help at the linebacker position in a bad way.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_02]: So the first guy on my list, I got Matt Milano, free agent from the bills, six foot, 223 pounds, he's 31 years old, played 12 games in 2025 and had 67 tackles, seven tackles for loss, three and a half sacks and a force fumble.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_02]: Now,
- 29:34[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, he's a little bit older of a player, not the high-high level player.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_02]: He was during his age, like 25 to 28 seasons in his prime.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_02]: But still fits the bill for the Browns right now.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_02]: You get a veteran, linebacker, decent outside linebacker, Spotrack Market value is just a 1 year, $4.6 million dollar contract.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_02]: That's right in Andrew Barry's wheelhouse for that kind of a deal.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_02]: Now,
- 29:57[SPEAKER_02]: Moving to the next guy, if the Browns are willing to pay Devon Bush, the projected contract value that they have for him, which is about $9 million per year.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_02]: But say Devon Bush decides he's going to sign somewhere or else he doesn't want to come back to Cleveland.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_02]: Another guy that they could turn to with that type of contract in mind is Quincy Williams, free agent from the jet.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yes.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, 5.25 pounds, this guy, he's almost 30 years old, played 13 games in 2025, made 83 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and that was coming off 4 straight seasons of 100 plus tackles, and he had 139 in 2023.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_02]: This is one of the fastest linebackers in the NFL.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_02]: He's very good in coverage.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_02]: 7 past breakups in 2025.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_02]: He has that sideline to sideline range and
- 30:48[SPEAKER_02]: out of the line up and if Devon Bush doesn't come back, Quincy Williams is a playmaking linebacker, gets guys down behind the line of scrimmage, he's in attacking style linebacker, so theoretically, would be a good fit in this Jim Schwartz-esque defense that we're trying to replicate under Mike Routenberg, Spotrack predicts a one year 9.2 million dollar deal, so right in the same vicinity as Devon Bush, if I'm Andrew Barry,
- 31:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm spending the money to either bring back Devon Bush or I'm going to sign a guy like Quincy Williams if I can.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_02]: Even if it takes a two-year deal to get the job done, then I'm drafting a rookie outside linebacker at some point and hoping he develops into the next guy when this contract here is up.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_02]: So that's kind of my big spend at linebacker if the Browns decide to go that route.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_02]: And then finally, my last linebacker if the Browns are just looking at like a
- 31:40[SPEAKER_02]: One year deal type of guy is EJ speed free agent from the Texans, 64, 227 pounds, almost 31 years old, 62 tackles, 3 TFL and 225 had 142 tackles in 15 games, just the year prior in 2024 with Colts.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_02]: He's kind of a hybrid linebacker you can play multiple positions on the field.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_02]: He also presents some value on special teams unit as well.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_02]: and Spotrack has him listed for a one-year deal worth about $4.8 million.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_02]: So that would be my cheaper one-year deal contract for the Browns at Linebacker.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, dude.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_00]: I love it because I also brought up Quincy Williams as well.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_00]: And the biggest thing that reminded me that he didn't have the height, but he's both the same weight as J.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_00]: And it's it's a guy that while he's he's only 225, I mean, you have him as kind of like this weekside off ball linebacker.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_00]: I thought I read somewhere where he could even be like dime safety or something like this.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_00]: If you're looking
- 32:45[SPEAKER_00]: and you've already worked with the guy as root and bird has, then I think it's a no-brainer to sign this guy.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I like what you said, too.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we're looking for guys that can cover satellite assignment, but he also runs downhill at his side, like with those TFLs, man.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's something big, and that's great that you pick that up, because as busy at work, I quit that in my notes, and not completely forgot until he said it.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_00]: If it's contracts big, that's great, but again, a guy that plays fast, he's aggressive, he's a guy that can do the system that we currently have and he executes consistently.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_00]: That's what we want.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, absolutely.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad you made the Drew the comparison to J.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, because I'm not expecting Quincy Williams to come here and do J.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_02]: Okay was doing like on that level.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_02]: But J.O.K.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_02]: Light, can he give you some of that production and give you some of that impact that J.O.K.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_02]: was producing on defense for the Brown City.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I think Quincy Williams would be a great fit in that line-backing core with Carson Swesinger and whoever else we decided to bring in.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's the same reason why I like Necobie Dean.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's just he plays the mic position, but he's a guy that is the exact same trait-wise just a different position.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_00]: And I think he would fit well in, but I mean, to have two mics on your team that are really good and pay them's very realistic, but as far as talent goes, I mean,
- 34:15[SPEAKER_00]: whether he wanted to move positions or whatever it's that those are the kind of players that I think I'm looking for for this Gutenberg style of defense.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_02]: This episode is brought to you by Bauden Sports.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_02]: Browns fans, Bauden Sports is your one-stop shop for all your athletic gear.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_02]: Bauden started out perfecting and manufacturing the best balls in the business.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_02]: And if that sounded dirty, that's more about your mind than my words.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_02]: But hey, it's true.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_02]: Baseball, softballs, footballs, basketballs, volleyballs, soccer balls, you name it.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_02]: And Bauden has engineered the highest standard sports balls available.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_02]: And now they offer more than just sports balls.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_02]: If you got kids playing baseball or softball, Biden has batting gloves and bats to go along with both game balls and training balls.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_02]: If you're into basketball, Biden makes basketball specifically for indoor or outdoor use, heck, Biden even has all the equipment you need for pickleball, which
- 35:05[SPEAKER_02]: is one sport that I hear everyone is playing and yet I still never have and I need to fix that soon.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_02]: But don't miss the backyard game section of Bodden's website where you can order everything you need for this upcoming outdoor season, pool balls, backyard volleyball, nets, croquet, bachi, horseshoes, cornhole, and more.

- 35:37[SPEAKER_02]: This season, bought in sports.com, slash dogs.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_02]: That wraps up my list of free agents for this part two of the preview.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_02]: Kenny, how many do you have left?
- 35:49[SPEAKER_00]: I just really have one more guy and I'm just running through it right now.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's a tight end and he's with the ravens and obviously, yes, you and I have like put together like all these guys that have played with our new set of coaches, which is actually our coaches are staff is finally like complete.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_00]: I guess I guess with the sighting of Todd
- 36:16[SPEAKER_00]: But this guy's names come up a couple times in our discord he's come up in the comments for our different pods and it's a Charlie cooler and this guy is 66 he's 252 pounds.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_00]: He's basically like the the kid that's getting going to get drafted out of.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_00]: Notre Dame.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_00]: He seems like he has the same attributes, except obviously the kid out of Notre Dame is going to be a little bit younger.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_00]: This guy's out of Iowa State, Drath in 2022, round four, he's got a lot of experience with Monkin, which is great, and they'll definitely help us out if this is somebody that we can sign.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_00]: 168 receptions, 200, sorry, 2181 yards, 23 touchdowns, man, like a guy that's six, six,
- 37:03[SPEAKER_00]: helps you with those off schedule plays because those are those jump balls that you can get in the corner of the end zone.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_00]: It's got strong hands, he runs intelligent routes and obviously clearly by the number of touchdowns he has, he's a red zone, great red zone ability that is.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_00]: So he's played 40 games, he started 10.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_00]: I think when you have Isaiah likely in front of you and you have Andrews in front of you, you're not going to get a lot of playing time.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_00]: So if we can get this guy some playing time and he's a guy that if we don't get the K-Dodden as we mentioned earlier, he's not going to be my
- 37:41[SPEAKER_00]: blocking linebacker, or even though I think he's got the ability to do it, this guy is just a guy that go find soft spots in his own coverage.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be something that munked in once in his heavier packages, of course.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_00]: But he's got that great catch radius, you know, like it's six, six with the long arms.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_00]: He gives the quarterback that big target and it's something that we really need for our red zone again.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_00]: And I keep getting back to that because we just don't score enough packages.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_00]: So he'd be awesome in a go line 31 personnel stuff along that lines.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think I'm seeing this guy.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_00]: kind of as like more of a high ceiling player, but as we're going through and I know as you guys hear all the different guys that we're looking to sign, these are all guys that are going to fill in the back depth.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_00]: These guys are the guys that are going to provide our team some great ability in in-game when the guys ahead of them can't start like our all pros, like our fans and that kind of stuff.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_00]: And they're going to get key first downs because we just don't have that because we mentioned in the last episode, we just haven't developed the draft capital that we've had in the last three years, four years to come along.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_00]: So that has to be bought now.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_00]: And this guy to be bought is, I'm missing his contract here, but
- 39:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, two years of about six, six million dollars, maybe four million dollars.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_00]: But three to four million dollars average.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_00]: So, and you'd guarantee about half that.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_00]: And that's a guy again that would fit in a room.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_00]: Would I like K. More?
- 39:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_00]: Would this guy fit in a room and does he have the rapport with Munkin?
- 39:24[SPEAKER_00]: He does.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_00]: So, we'll see what happens.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_02]: I've seen Charlie Colars name thrown around so much in relation to the Browns just because of the monkey and the coaching staff connections and all that kind of stuff and I think it makes a ton of sense and to me it's like I'm trying to give so people out there don't know who this is or anything just I would think of it more of Blake white heart upgrade.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know, because like last year, we had David and Joe Koo, we had Harold Fannon was kind of that move tight end.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_02]: We could put him out and he was our pass catching weapon at the position.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_02]: But then Blake Whitehart was filling in and like you said on the packages where we needed another blocking tight end and he could also run out and run routes, catch passes, be a red zone threat.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_02]: But Charlie Colour would be the upgraded version of Blake White Heart with a higher ceiling like you mentioned to potentially do even more.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_02]: So that's kind of how I'm thinking of this guy.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and he's got special team's values like typically a tight end that's going to be in the position he is probably second maybe third a tight end these guys generally are kickoff returners sorry, they don't they don't do that they are blocking for that on kickoff return.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, yeah, yeah, usually feel goal unit, put protection those kind of things and that's all things that will help our new special teams coordinator store get to where he needs to be and us having a better special team unit than dead last.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no kidding and say exactly what we need.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_02]: So I guess that rounds out free agent preview part two.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_02]: So if you guys missed part one or you just want to go recap who we touched on and part one, go back and check out that episode.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_02]: Again, free agency starts Monday with the liquid tampering period.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_02]: And then you know, all the deals are going to be rolling and flying and all that kind of stuff.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_02]: And then.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_02]: New glee gear begins on Wednesday, which, wow, just a week from today.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_02]: It's crazy.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_02]: The time has really flown, but that's where we are.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_02]: So if you guys have other free agents in mind for the browns that you think they should look into or try really hard to sign or that we didn't mention, drop it in the comments, let us know who you're thinking about.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_02]: And Kenny, you said you might have one thing.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_02]: You want to talk about the question you sent me instead of the link yeah, so just so you guys know I sent Kenny the link to do this recording and I had copy to question That I was using for like the title the the short video.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_02]: I just put out and said to pasting the link in the email I sent in that question which it's a fair one.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_02]: I did want to bring it up so the question was
- 41:58[SPEAKER_02]: This has been going around social media here today.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_02]: We know Andrew Barry talk to the Cardinals about the availability of their wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_02]: So the question on social media today has been, would you, if you're the Browns, trade pick 39, your early pick in the second round to the Cardinals for Marvin Harrison Jr.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_02]: I know my answer, Kenny, what is your answer?
- 42:20[SPEAKER_02]: I was for 39, right?
- 42:21[SPEAKER_02]: 39, yep.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_02]: What did I say?
- 42:24[SPEAKER_00]: I would do that in a heartbeat, man, because I said it yesterday, two days ago, when we were talking on the discord, I believe if he came out with all the accolades that he came out two years ago, it would be the best receiver in this draft, is what I would say.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_00]: And I just feel like if you are one of the guys out there that are into wine to have AJ Brown,
- 42:48[SPEAKER_00]: I would way rather have Marvin Harris and Junior as a like a size like smooth runner and maybe kind of the divante atoms like the big receiver traits.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_00]: I know he doesn't have the elite speed, but I don't care because I'll still draft tape.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_00]: I just want somebody that's going to catch the ball and give me first downs and I just think this guy as far as like, um, or do I have it here?
- 43:15[SPEAKER_00]: Like his route running, his catch radius, contested catches, these are all things that I want out of tape.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_00]: I just think he does it better than him in my opinion.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_00]: And it hasn't shown itself yet based on injury, hasn't shown itself yet based on the inability to have the same quarterback and him in Kyla Murray never just connected, but he's been a connect with somebody.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_00]: He's got the tools.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 43:40[SPEAKER_00]: I'm 100% throwing 39 down on that, and I'll draft two wine with thener, still another receiver who knows.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, absolutely, man.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, I said it.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, part B, you get 39.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_02]: I get Marvin Harrison, Junior Dunn, deal Dunn.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_02]: Where do we sign?
- 43:58[SPEAKER_02]: Let's do this because...
- 44:00[SPEAKER_02]: You know, and we talked about this the other day on the Discord show and everything, but I think it's worth mentioning again that not every one of these wide receivers breaks out to be in a lead wide receiver one in the NFL right away it's a tall task or a tall ask a lot to
- 44:18[SPEAKER_02]: put on these guys to come in at 21, 22 years old immediately in the NFL and produce at the level that Justin Jefferson was able to produce or Jamar Chase.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_02]: They're rookie years.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_02]: It just doesn't happen with everybody.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_02]: You get the guy.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_02]: You get the Pooka Nicole's who come in right away because they're in a great environment.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_02]: They got a great coach, great quarterback and it all just clicks and it works.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes your Marvin Harrison Jr and you go to a terrible team with a terrible
- 44:45[SPEAKER_02]: going back to the Colorado Murray conversation and they're using him wrong and all this kind of stuff like this is stuff people have noted he was misused in Arizona or has been I guess he's still there obviously but if you could get him into an offense and I'm hoping that Todd Munkin knows what the hell he's doing he has done very well with offensive systems throughout his entire career wherever he's been so I had do have high hopes for what Munkin can do.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_02]: Give me this guy.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_02]: Marvin Harrison, Jr. has elite ceiling potential in the NFL has he reached it yet.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_02]: No, not even close, but that's what's exciting because he could be had.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_02]: And if this were the offer, I'm not saying it is, obviously it's just speculation.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_02]: But if it was 39, hell if it was 39 and just a little something else to make it work, do it because I think this guy has levels upon levels yet to unlock and he's going to just give him time.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think if Monkin can figure out my ovens, he can figure out Marvin Harrison Jr., I know they're not the same person because Marvin Harrison's more of a technician versus just the raw power of Mike Evans, but there's still big enough guys, you know, like your 209 pounds versus 231, I get it.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_00]: But he can figure it out.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there's no offensive like,
- 46:10[SPEAKER_00]: system that monk and does he just gets a player or figures it out.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what he does.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_00]: And we can definitely all agree on one thing.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_00]: Marvin Harrison Jr. has lead traits.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_00]: Just plain and simple, right?
- 46:20[SPEAKER_00]: So that's that's big.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_00]: And if you can get it out of a tape, you can get it out of a tape.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, I think either way,
- 46:30[SPEAKER_00]: Like if you look at Harrison, he should be able to get separation in this league.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_00]: He can get separation in this league till he got injured this year, and he can muck and configure it out.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I saw a Cam White on Twitter was talking about the project of Wider Severroom.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_02]: If this trade were to take place, Andrew Barry somehow lands Marvin Harrison Jr.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_02]: So that would really open things up.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_02]: If you wanted to take best player available, he'll, our VL Reese drops in the draft and he's sitting there at six and you just want to take our VL Reese.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_02]: Then you can do it.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_02]: You're not locked into like, well, we have to get her fever.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_02]: If the Browns love Francis Maui Noah or they want to take Monroe Freeling or somebody like that at six, you can do it.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_02]: And then at 24,
- 47:14[SPEAKER_02]: Go get Omar Cooper Jr.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_02]: Put him in the slot and let Marvin Harrison Jr. do his thing on the outside.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_02]: We're cooking, baby.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_02]: We might have the wide receiver room we're talking about.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_02]: Now you got Jerry Judy is like your wide receiver.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_02]: Three.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_02]: He can play on the opposite boundary from Marvin Harrison.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_02]: Then you've got Isaiah Bond, who can play kind of all the positions and he can be your deep speed threat and everything.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a little more excited about this season with that wide receiver room.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_00]: yeah it's a good you know you mentioned bond i think i think there's definitely something that monkey can unlock and it's also it's also fair to bond that for him to go through an actual off season yeah you know it means so and if you can get any kind of consistency at quarterback you know that's guys the limit i think for bond just based on his deep ball of playability
- 48:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Isaiah Bond shows some things last year, some flashes that we're exciting.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm interested to see how that looks.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_02]: I'm interested to see how everybody looks in a brand new offensive system because everything with Kevin Stephansky was stale, it was outdated, people and defenses knew what we were doing.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_02]: I just think the offense as an entire unit at every position was just how to complete this advantage at all times.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_02]: So I want to see how that looks now under new leadership and new scheme and all that kind of stuff.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_02]: So it's going to be exciting to watch and I think Andrew Barry's trading for a wider receiver.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's going to pull off a trade.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_02]: He seems to be very adamant that this is going to he's getting somebody in a trade.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_02]: For me, obviously my preferred guy is Marvin Harrison
- 48:53[SPEAKER_00]: I think that'd be ideal, but we'll see what happens.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, maybe there's guys that we're not even thinking of that are available that are going to be available, like it's what happened at the Combine.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, the biggest thing I'm looking forward to see is we got a real offensive.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_00]: a line coach as a dog and he's going to, he's going to flip some of these guys and he's going to make this offensive line really good and I'm looking forward to see what Warhop can do.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_00]: One thing I didn't realize is Warhop and our new offensive line, Howard, were together in Houston.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_00]: I did not know that.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_00]: So I figured that's how that today.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_00]: You know what?
- 49:30[SPEAKER_02]: I did see that.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_02]: I saw that the other day and I forgot about it, but that's a good point.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad you brought that up.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_00]: I wonder if it's something that he advocated and like I know I kind of been griping about his low numbers and his run blocking, but maybe that's something goes, hey, a couple of these things that will fix it and you know, instead of 56 he's 66 and maybe that makes a difference.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, definitely.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_02]: And just one last note on the Marvin Harrison junior thing.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_02]: I might be in the minority with this, and I don't know how you feel, but if it wasn't 39, if the Cardinals were like, no, we would need 24 to move him.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_02]: I would be okay with that because I feel like Andrew Barry would get their second or third round pick also included with Marvin Harrison to then ship off 24, which I would be okay with at 24, I don't think there's a receiver available in this year's draft,
- 50:25[SPEAKER_02]: and elite trades that Marvin Harrison Jr. has.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_02]: So if it was 24 and we got something back with Marvin Harrison Jr., I'd be totally okay with that too, but how do you feel?
- 50:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, if you're telling me we're getting a second, absolutely, because then that's either another guard or it's another, it could be even like a tackle with pass rush ability, like a defensive tackle, I meant to say, and that'd be something that we need on our team, like that'd be a top 50 pic, like it's no brainer for me.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_02]: Well, let us know what you guys think in the comments about the Marvin Harrison Jr. Tray, color Murray, all the free agents we talked about today and anybody else that you want to see playing for the Browns in 2026.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_02]: It's exciting guys.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_02]: The new league year is here just a week away.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_02]: So,
- 51:14[SPEAKER_02]: It's coming fast and we're gonna start getting some solid answers as to how this roster's gonna start shaping up for the 2026 season which hopefully will be better than it kind of felt for a while.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_02]: Like, maybe this is just gonna be a, you know, they're right in this office a bad year and everything.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_02]: But I don't know, the comments from Todd Munkin, Andrew Barry, it seems like they've got some sort of a plan and I just, I hope it comes to fruition.
- 51:41[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't see what it turns out to be.
- 51:45[SPEAKER_02]: Here we go, we're almost there.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, man, let's just get her done.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_00]: Let me just get her done.
- 51:52[SPEAKER_00]: Let me just get her done.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, let me know what that cap room is.
- 51:55[SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
- 51:55[SPEAKER_02]: And here we are as Browns fans in our Super Bowl window during the off-season free agency and the draft and everything and then.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's like, when can we just get to September, because I just want to see these guys on the field and everything, but it's going to be a fun ride to get there.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm excited to go to training camp this year.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_02]: I want to see if they really are going to hit and be more physical and be more intentional about everything they're doing at practice.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_02]: So that would be exciting as well.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_02]: But can you thanks for joining me today and bringing the free advocacy and helping me break down this preview for these guys that hopefully will be coming to the Browns next week?
- 52:28[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we will see.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_02]: We will see.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's round out that roster and we need a lot of players.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_02]: We sure do.
- 52:34[SPEAKER_02]: So they're going to be very busy and for you to stay in the draft.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_02]: So again, let's know what you guys think in the comments, go to join thedogs.com if you want to hang out with everybody in the discord, have these kind of conversations all the time and bounce ideas off of like-minded Browns fans, just a really cool place to be.
