Transcript
- 0:00Happy Friday morning everybody coming to you from the Orlando,
- 0:06FL International Airport. Let's take a look.
- 0:10These are the parking garages, palm trees everywhere.
- 0:17I told my daughters they love Disneyland and I said I was
- 0:22coming down here and I heard. Where are you Wallace girls?
- 0:27Brandy said. 27 more days, Dad. I don't know what they put in
- 0:32the air over there at Disneyland, but it must be some
- 0:36happy oxygen. My family eats that place up.
- 0:40They love it. OK, Yesterday we took a break.
- 0:45We did not do coffee with Kenny on Thursday.
- 0:49And I thought, well, there's a lot going on.
- 0:52We got we got everybody's opinion on Cletus.
- 0:56Should Cletus McFarlane be approved?
- 0:59Oh my God, Cletus just signed a three race deal with Richard
- 1:04Childress in RCR. Hey Wallace, what do you think
- 1:08of that? Respond right here before we get
- 1:13started on Cletus. In my opinion on should Cletus
- 1:16race in NASCAR? Somebody said something to me at
- 1:22the broken spoke. We were, you know, at Southern
- 1:26Country Custom. Listen to fans have been
- 1:28wonderful. And there was about five guys
- 1:32and this guy out of nowhere, real nice guy.
- 1:36He said Herman. You know, when it when anybody
- 1:40calls me Herman, that's usually greetings.
- 1:42That means I know your nickname 'cause my name is Kenny Wallace.
- 1:47But when people call me Herman, you know, that's a good way to
- 1:50start with me. It means I know you.
- 1:53So the guy goes, Herman, he says, man, he goes, how come you
- 1:56do all that YouTube stuff? Do you need the money?
- 2:02Made me think, and I kind of forgot about it.
- 2:05But as I was on my way to the airport here, I heard a story
- 2:09about Tom Brady. And Tom Brady's got this girl
- 2:16and they're doing social media and they're like, oh, anyway,
- 2:21made me think about Tom Brady. So here would be my response to
- 2:26all the people that want to know why do you do all the social
- 2:31media and do you need the money? Number one, I do not need any
- 2:36money. I'm good to go.
- 2:38I saved all my money. So that's that.
- 2:43Why do I do social media? So I would ask you this and that
- 2:47is your answer. So I'm going to ask you a
- 2:49question and that's your answer. Why does Jeff Gordon work for
- 2:54Hendrick Motorsport? Does he need the money?
- 2:57Why does Kevin Harvick and Clint Border?
- 3:00Why do they work for Fox Sport? Do they need the money?
- 3:05Why does Tom Brady? Why does Tom Brady?
- 3:10I mean, that guy's a what, 7 Super Bowl?
- 3:12And that guy don't need no money.
- 3:15Shaquille O'Neal. We know how wealthy Shaquille
- 3:18O'Neal is. Charles Barkley, why do any of
- 3:21these people that have millions and millions of dollars, why do
- 3:25they do what they do? Well, because it's not time to
- 3:29die yet. That's your answer.
- 3:33It's that simple. It's still is as simple as this.
- 3:37Don't let the old man in. You know, retirement is a word.
- 3:44We've talked about this before. Retirement, you know, is it, it
- 3:49means you, you're not you, you not chokehold no more.
- 3:53Retirement means I'm not being chokehold no more.
- 3:56I can do what I want to do. So that's your answer right
- 3:59there. We're just, we're just having a
- 4:00good time right here on YouTube. I'm like the Walmart greeter.
- 4:06It's a little bit of money for me to give the kids.
- 4:08I listen, any money I make, I give the kids and I give to Kim.
- 4:12I have to keep Kim in the casino and I got to keep the kids at
- 4:16Disney World. OK, Switching subjects,
- 4:23Switching subjects, everybody. There's the arrow Piorto.
- 4:32OK, Cletus McFarlane. Even brother Rusty asked me.
- 4:39Brother Rusty said Herman, what do you think about that?
- 4:41Cletus McFarlane And I said #1 I think about myself, how did I
- 4:50get approved? I had to be approved.
- 4:53Everybody has this story, they just don't tell it.
- 4:57So in 9th November of 88, Rusty called me up and he said,
- 5:02Herman, I want to start you a Bush Grand National team.
- 5:06My brother Rusty, my brother Rusty, I've heard it all.
- 5:10So Rusty says, Herman, I want to start you a Bush Grand National
- 5:15team. We had sponsorship from Cox
- 5:18treated lumber, but my first race was going to be Daytona.
- 5:22Well, NASCAR said hold on, we got to prove you.
- 5:25So Rusty and Earnhardt, Dale Senior, they got together and I
- 5:30drove Earnhardt's car, Martinsville.
- 5:32They wanted to watch me. I ran the full race and I
- 5:37finished like 12th I think. Respond right here.
- 5:41I think November of 88. Let me know.
- 5:43I forgot I ran good. NASCAR said we like what we see
- 5:48so far. Now come to Daytona.
- 5:52Back in the day when we tested for two months at Daytona.
- 5:55Oh yeah, we used to, we used to test like there was 2 tests.
- 5:59We'd start like the end of January and then a little bit
- 6:02before we'd go back to Daytona. So I, we camped our butts down
- 6:06there at Daytona Speedway and I ran around that racetrack for
- 6:10like 6 solid days, three days. Then we'd go back home, then
- 6:14we'd come back. So then Les Richter at NASCAR
- 6:20said we want to see your portfolio, Kenny Wallace.
- 6:23So my Mama, Judy Wallace, and my wife at that time, my girlfriend
- 6:27Kim, they put together this portfolio and I said, OK, I ran.
- 6:31I raced an ASA at Michigan International Speedway.
- 6:36I mean, buddy, that's a no joke. That's nervy.
- 6:39I ran Michigan International Speedway in my ASA car.
- 6:43I ran Winchester. I ran the high banks of
- 6:45Winchester, I ran Salem. I ran the Milwaukee Mile.
- 6:50And Les Richter said, hey, this is one of the nicest we've ever
- 6:54seen. You know, portfolio.
- 6:55We put it together. Why do I deserve to go to
- 6:58Daytona? I laid out my case and NASCAR
- 7:01said approved. I told that story to Rusty.
- 7:08I said, think about it this way. Rusty Cletus has already ran the
- 7:12ARCA race. He finished 11th.
- 7:16He ran the truck race. He spun out.
- 7:18Now he's won some, he's ran some other races.
- 7:21You know, he got roughed up. But Cletus is a victim of this.
- 7:26I'm going to slow it down. I want to explain this to
- 7:28everybody. And I told Rusty this.
- 7:32Cletus is a victim of the new society, the new cell phone.
- 7:39Everybody's on their cell phones.
- 7:41Cletus is too famous. That's the bottom line.
- 7:45I was when I came in, it was like Rusty Wallace has got a
- 7:49brother. Hell, we didn't have anything.
- 7:51If you wanted to know anything, you had to read the paper, and
- 7:53that was a week behind. Cletus is a victim of the new
- 7:58quick moving. I mean, you announced something.
- 8:01People know within seconds. So everybody's on there giving
- 8:05their opinions. He don't deserve this.
- 8:07They don't deserve that. Listen, people, Cletus has
- 8:12already put to work in now. Has he been roughed up?
- 8:15Does he got enough experience? Well, he's going to get it.
- 8:18He's going to get it. There's only one way to get it.
- 8:20You got to race. How's he going to get it?
- 8:23Go to Rockingham. Go to Rockingham.
- 8:26Listen, Cletus, we will talk. I'm the best at Rockingham.
- 8:30Nobody better than me at Rockingham.
- 8:32I won my last NASCAR race there. I can teach you the throttle
- 8:36manipulation and what to look out for and the arcs and the
- 8:39entries. But it's it's a tough track.
- 8:43It's a tough track. But once again, the only way for
- 8:49Cletus to shut everybody up is just go race.
- 8:54And I think I think a lot of people in the industry are a
- 8:59little jealous. They're like, he hasn't put the
- 9:02time in. Listen, we've all got stories.
- 9:06My story is unbelievable. Nobody's put their time in.
- 9:10Listen, it's all about me. I'm the greatest, OK?
- 9:14That's I'm having fun. That's the way all the other
- 9:16drivers think. It's always about me.
- 9:19Cletus shouldn't be able to race because I we all did it.
- 9:23Everybody. Cletus has been roughed up, too.
- 9:26Cletus has been put through the sawmill.
- 9:29He started out with what, 13201230?
- 9:32Hey, it's kind of like 6-7. The kids are mad at us now
- 9:35because we stole their 6-7. Did you know that?
- 9:39The kids are mad now because we like 6-7 and they're like, the
- 9:45kids are mad because we stole their 6-7.
- 9:49Cletus will be just fine. Everybody.
- 9:51Number one, he's too famous #2 we got social media.
- 9:55Everybody's giving their opinion.
- 9:57Let me tell you what I think. Well, I'll tell you what, you
- 9:59don't know what the hell we've all been through.
