- 0:08Let me in your ear. I got something you need to hear.
- 0:12Turn the volume up so it's loud and clear. A podcast where we talk about politics
- 0:17and culture and scripted no limits like a 504 soldier. We're not pretenders. Ain't no agendas.
- 0:22Our only plan is to keep it 100 and do it for the fam. Yeah.
- 0:28What up? What up? What up? What's going on?
- 0:32It's your boy Six Mill keeping it Trill. It's your boy KG.
- 0:37Welcome to another episode of For The Fam Podcast. What is this,
- 0:43episode seven now? I think so, yeah.
- 0:46We getting there. Yes, sir. Consistency, consistency.
- 0:51Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Lucky number seven. You believe in luck and superstition
- 0:57and all that kind of stuff? Absolutely.
- 0:59I'm minus lucky number five. I don't.
- 1:07Not it not it i mean like hold up
- 1:11i looked up inside your face was like oh he about to say nah so
- 1:14like i don't get down like horoscopes oh no no no and you know play these lucky
- 1:20numbers in the lottery all that kind of kind of stuff you know find a penny
- 1:24and it's good luck four leaf floor i don't believe in none of that kind of stuff
- 1:28but i do acknowledge that sometimes Sometimes lucky things happen.
- 1:33Oh, yeah. I acknowledge that. But yeah, as far as like banking on it. Nah, that ain't for me.
- 1:42So what you want to what you want to talk about today, bro? So today we're going
- 1:45to touch on double standards.
- 1:47What we mean by that is the double standards between other groups of people
- 1:51and black Americans and how certain things are portrayed when we speak up as
- 1:58opposed to when someone else speaks up. For example.
- 2:02So for us, let's use comedians. Okay. When a white comedian tells black jokes, they're edgy.
- 2:10They're... Okay. But when a black comedian tells jokes, it's taken as defensive or...
- 2:20I'm trying to think of the other word, but I think you get my drift.
- 2:24No, I 100% get the drift and... Hostile, hostile. Hostile, yeah, sure, sure. Sure.
- 2:32So and I mean, like like we were saying earlier, this can apply to so many different walks of life.
- 2:38Absolutely. So I'm just I'm going to bounce around. But I mean, like.
- 2:44In recent events and I'm going to probably work my way backwards,
- 2:48but and we had a discussion about this, how the NFL tried to have a moment of
- 2:53silence for Charlie Kirk. Mm hmm.
- 2:57But then when Colin Kaepernick and all of the guys were taking were taking knees,
- 3:02it was all about we don't get political, just play football.
- 3:07We don't we don't come to football games for political views or lectures or whatever.
- 3:14No, the masses were saying that basically were just being hypocrites about taking
- 3:19a knee because now it's cool to have a moment of silence for this dude.
- 3:24But you didn't want to acknowledge that.
- 3:27Colin Kaepernick taking a knee for police brutality. That was out of bounds.
- 3:31So it's just those type of double standards. And and and and even with like Kyrie.
- 3:37And I know you're not the biggest fan of Kyrie, but the whole tweeting the Hebrews
- 3:41to Negroes and how they tried to blackball do.
- 3:46And force them to give money to what was it, the ADL or something like that was like,
- 3:52now you're extorting this dude, especially considering
- 3:55how much he does outside of basketball
- 3:58i think like like for me with him
- 4:01obviously on the court there's no question but i think over the years some of
- 4:06his in my opinion right messages me talk right i think some of his criticisms
- 4:12and the things that he tried to address just kind of he didn't know how to address
- 4:17them at that time but i feel like now,
- 4:20When I hear him talk, he does a lot of live streaming.
- 4:23I think the brothers turned the corner. He knows how to present it and present it well now. Yeah.
- 4:29Well, the whole thing in this, I know I got to tread lightly,
- 4:34but with the ADL, how you basically went after Kyrie so hard.
- 4:39But right around that same time frame, Marjorie Taylor Greene was talking about
- 4:44Jewish space lasers and controlling the weather and all of that kind of silly stuff.
- 4:50And nobody said anything to her. Nothing.
- 4:53Why didn't you guys try and strong arm her and make her give donations?
- 4:57She was talking Cash money shit Wild about Jewish people Yeah So it's those
- 5:08Double standards That I'm just like.
- 5:11Who speaks up for us? You know what I'm saying?
- 5:15Like you've got the ABL or, you know, I guess the what is it?
- 5:20The Southern Poverty. Yes. Southern Poverty Law Center.
- 5:23Yeah, you got you got. And they kind of like monitor everybody.
- 5:26But even with like the NAACP, it's just like, do y'all really go to bat for us?
- 5:32I mean, as you were just saying, comedians, whatever, anybody can say anything
- 5:39derogatory or negative about black people. And it's just another day at the office.
- 5:44But soon as we start saying stuff, it's, oh, my God, what are you doing?
- 5:50It's that double standard that just drives me insane. It's the Jim Crow mentality.
- 5:57It's the don't talk back mentality.
- 6:01You're to be seen, not to be heard. Actually, we prefer you not be seen in certain places.
- 6:06Know your place. Know your place. Wow. And a lot of people don't understand.
- 6:11Yeah, a lot has changed in the South. We're not sitting around here saying that
- 6:15we can't do what we want to do because we can.
- 6:17We can pretty much do whatever we want to do. But there are still situations
- 6:22where people go through what their ancestors went through on a daily basis.
- 6:26They're expected to stay in line.
- 6:31Interesting. Interesting. But but you're right. Stay in line. I.
- 6:35Yeah. That's probably hitting the nail on the head.
- 6:40It's so it's so crazy because like I don't know if you're aware of like the whole.
- 6:46I'm going to just talk about it. Jemele Hill and what's the uptick from Fox?
- 6:52Oh, yeah. Barbie doll. Fake Barbie doll. What's her name?
- 6:57Megan Kellis. That's it. I mean, like, she literally called Jemele Hill ugly.
- 7:03And it's just like,
- 7:05Where's the pushback from that? You know what I'm saying? And nobody's going
- 7:10to say anything about it. No.
- 7:14And I'm glad Jamel clapped back. Look that up, y'all, because she got at her.
- 7:19And she clapped back in a way that was basically telling her,
- 7:21watch yourself. Yeah, for real. Tread lightly.
- 7:24For real. For real. But it's like, you know, the whole women aren't supposed
- 7:28to denigrate women. And I get it.
- 7:31The whole conversation about we're always judged on our parents as opposed to our intellect.
- 7:39I get that. So I get like, hey, this is just like some unspoken rule.
- 7:45We don't talk about each other's physical appearance.
- 7:49I get that 100 percent. So it's like for you to like, oh, it just pisses me off to be to be honest.
- 7:58It really pisses me off. And seemingly out of left field, out of left field,
- 8:02out of nowhere. Just like what was your reason?
- 8:05Unless you just wanted some clicks.
- 8:09And and again, we don't promote violence on this show, but if Jamel was to put
- 8:15them hands on her, I'd give her two thumbs up.
- 8:21Because she kind of deserves it. Like I said, out of left field,
- 8:27I'm going to start talking about her. And look, this may have been something.
- 8:31Maybe Jamel said something. I don't know the full context. I did see part of
- 8:35her response to it, but I don't know the full context what got Megyn Kelly riled
- 8:40up about something. It could have been something.
- 8:43Nothing that warranted a response like that. Right, just calling the ugly.
- 8:48Yeah. if y'all got different views on a
- 8:51political topic then talk
- 8:54about those differences but to us i was
- 8:57about to say assault but to insult that woman like that you
- 9:01out of pocket and throughout throughout history especially
- 9:04you know the way we grew up what does the person who's losing
- 9:07the argument like that you're talking about each other's mamas go
- 9:10to go to they make it personal they make it personal yep they
- 9:13make it personal yep yep it immediately
- 9:17it is not about the topic
- 9:21anymore now it's about insults at least my daddy ain't lose his job yeah yeah
- 9:25yeah yeah yeah yeah oh you want to take it there because you know that that's
- 9:30what come next where we from oh that okay that's what we doing now especially
- 9:35since we all knew each other so it was personal the second that you said something
- 9:39about somebody's family.
- 9:40Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, I don't know, man. I just, I get so upset. And I shouldn't.
- 9:48But even with, like, the hypocrisy.
- 9:52What between the Democrats and the Republicans, you know, like they try to drag
- 10:00Jasmine for the bleach blonde bat built, excuse me, insult.
- 10:07But but nobody talked about the fact that she was talking about her eyelashes
- 10:12and her and her weave and her. And you know what's crazy, dog?
- 10:16White women wear weave. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. They got them clip on.
- 10:21They just they just clip it on. white women wear just as much weave as black women.
- 10:25And eyelashes, for that matter, and fake nails, and all that stuff.
- 10:29But when black women... But you haven't noticed, we don't...
- 10:32And I'm not gonna say I'm speaking for us.
- 10:35We know that already. Yeah, for sure. And we don't give a damn.
- 10:39Don't. I don't care that... You got your hair done. Oh, you look nice.
- 10:43Enjoy the rest of your day. Right. But then you want to start talking about
- 10:47her because she got on lashes.
- 10:48Right. And then I forget who it was that said also... About Jasmine Crockett,
- 10:53about where she was raised.
- 10:56They always on that, bro.
- 10:58When they were talking about how, well, you're not that type of black woman. Always.
- 11:02You shouldn't be behaving this way. Excuse me? Right. What do you mean she's
- 11:06not that type of black woman?
- 11:07It's so crazy because depending on who you ask, she's ghetto.
- 11:12Then you ask another one and there'll be, oh, no, she's faking.
- 11:15She's not really ghetto. She's really educated and come from, well, which one is it?
- 11:20And why is it personal? Why does that matter? Talk about her politics.
- 11:24If you disagree with her politics, talk about her politics. Don't talk about her personal life.
- 11:31That's off the table. And what's crazy with people like her,
- 11:35she's considered radical.
- 11:37Whereas people who say the same thing, the same state of that,
- 11:41I can't even talk, who say the same things are considered passionate.
- 11:45They're passionate about the projects and about the bill that they want to pass.
- 11:51But she's radical because she's speaking up against the establishment.
- 11:56You should just shut up, get in line, vote, go home.
- 11:59Going back to what you said about the hypocrisy, one of the things that I don't
- 12:03understand, especially with the way of the world, well, the way of this country right now.
- 12:08How many of these people argue in that hall and then go have dinner together
- 12:14like ain't nothing just happened? Speak on it.
- 12:17Speak on it. Do you understand? Do you not understand that the things that you
- 12:22are discussing in that hall is is vital to a lot of people? Sure.
- 12:29Real life consequences.
- 12:32Black folk white folk hispanic folk
- 12:35yep it's detrimental yep to all
- 12:38of us at this one yep and to them it's a gang and y'all arguing
- 12:41we're gonna put the vote off the lady that just won the special election
- 12:44mike johnson is refusing to it's all
- 12:47the game her in yeah yeah it's all the game
- 12:50it's crazy how about we show up at your house right
- 12:53and force you to right right hypocrite
- 12:57lying lie lie talk about what
- 13:00a good christian he is all the time and get up there and lie for
- 13:03trump every single day like bro knock it off you the furthest thing from a good
- 13:08christian knock it off but the the double standard with gavin newson the way
- 13:18he trolls trump oh he's the worst this This is petty. This is childish.
- 13:23But when Trump get up here and call people names, et cetera, et cetera, it's cooler.
- 13:30That's why people love him. You know, he, I think this was said a couple of
- 13:34days ago. I think that's why people love him because he speaks his mind.
- 13:37It was, it was from a lion.
- 13:40What's the name? Levitt. Oh my God.
- 13:44Well, that's why people like him because he speaks his mind.
- 13:46But when somebody else do it. That cross on her neck should have a burn mark right on her chest.
- 13:52Crazy. But, but, but, but Pete this though. did you
- 13:56see your boy Vance talk about
- 13:59the FCC guy he was just kidding with
- 14:02Jimmy Kimmel it was a joke wait Jimmy Kimmel's
- 14:06the comedian not him he don't get paid to tell jokes Jimmy Kimmel gets paid
- 14:12to tell jokes so you trying to get Jimmy Kimmel pulled off the air for telling
- 14:18a joke but when And this dude catches all this heat for his blatant,
- 14:23blatant violation of freedom of speech.
- 14:26Oh, he was just kidding. He was just telling a joke. When Trump was talking
- 14:30about being a dictator on day one.
- 14:32Oh, he's just telling a joke. When he say he want to be president for life.
- 14:36Oh, he's just telling that dude ain't a comedian.
- 14:40We don't want the president to be telling jokes.
- 14:44So the FCC chairman, I think it was 2019, he tweeted that the FCC shouldn't be police speech.
- 14:53And in a 2022 tweet emphasized the importance of political satire as a form
- 14:58of free speech that challenges power and is often targeted for censorship.
- 15:03But then you turn around and do the same thing under a different president. Right.
- 15:07Right. It's crazy, bro. The double standard. And look, for those out there screaming,
- 15:13you know, y'all never say this about Democrats or this and another thing.
- 15:16One, because they don't do it. But one of the issues that I have in general, if you are an attorney.
- 15:24You don't get to choose what type of attorney you're going to be based on who's in office. Right.
- 15:29But we see it so often. Man, say that for the Supreme Court can hear you, bro.
- 15:35Like, do you not understand that you are not making decisions that are in the
- 15:42best interest of the country, of the country, of the citizens of this country?
- 15:47You're making decisions that are for the betterment of one individual. Nuts.
- 15:54Nuts. You basically, and this kind of fell under the radar yesterday or day
- 16:00before yesterday, you basically took away the last thing that stops him from being a dictator.
- 16:06You said, you told him, it's okay if you withhold that foreign aid.
- 16:12That money that was allocated by Congress is now set to expire.
- 16:19Foreign aid. You've given him the ability to not send foreign aid.
- 16:26And I can hear people now, we shouldn't be sending money in the first place.
- 16:30Well, I can think of a country right now where we can save billions a year if we stop sending money.
- 16:37Don't say it. Matter of fact, I can think of two.
- 16:40Don't say it. Don't say it. Three.
- 16:45Three different countries where we could possibly say $20 to $30 billion a year.
- 16:51Yeah, well, one we can say.
- 16:52The other, I mean, one we can't say. The others we can say.
- 16:55But, you know, the one we can't say. But, but, but, but, but keep this, though.
- 17:00Because I know this is probably one of the countries you're thinking of.
- 17:03The lady that got killed on the bus in, what was it, South Carolina? Mm-hmm.
- 17:08Look how quick they were this lady
- 17:12came here she escaped war-torn ukraine
- 17:15and she's just looking for a better
- 17:18life and she gets killed by this
- 17:21guy who should have been locked away so wait now all of a sudden y'all ukraine
- 17:25enthusiasts now now y'all got sympathy for ukraine but y'all don't want to give
- 17:29ukraine aid so first let's say this it was horrible it is horrible and that
- 17:35guy they should have beat him to death right outside of that bus after it happened.
- 17:39But you can't say that a woman from that part of the world has escaped a war-torn
- 17:46country, is here doing good, but then arrest the Iowa superintendent of schools yesterday.
- 17:55Because you say he's here working illegally. He's a school superintendent.
- 18:02The mayor, Republican people have come out in Ohio like, oh, this dude's great.
- 18:08Or Iowa, sorry, Iowa. Like, oh, no, this guy is great.
- 18:12He was raised in Brooklyn. Yes, he was born in South America and Guyana.
- 18:17But he's here working. They say he's here working illegally.
- 18:20So what, his visa expired? Oh, no, you say he was born in Brooklyn.
- 18:23No, no, he was born in Guyana. Okay, okay. He was raised in Brooklyn.
- 18:26Okay. And that's the only details I know because they haven't really released a lot. Okay.
- 18:30But he's the school superintendent.
- 18:32Yeah. You know how wild that is to arrest a school superintendent? Yeah.
- 18:38Yeah. Yeah. You don't get those positions without being vetted and qualified. And qualified.
- 18:45Which is another thing about the double standard, how
- 18:48you can have someone with no higher education criticize someone who goes to
- 18:55Harvard or any Ivy League school and call them uneducated and unqualified and
- 19:02call them DEI hires. It was like, where are your credentials?
- 19:06Hold on, before you do that, if you're flying an airplane, what do you have to have?
- 19:13A license. You have
- 19:16to pass the training you got
- 19:20to be qualified or they won't give it to you the
- 19:23FCC it's very I'm sorry the FAA there
- 19:27are rules and regulations put in place for everyone yep black white it doesn't
- 19:35matter yeah if I see a pilot I'm like okay I don't care they passed the test
- 19:41you're a pilot Right, right.
- 19:44You passed the test. They're not just letting any John John come fly the plane.
- 19:49You have to pass the test. You're qualified.
- 19:53Let's put a woman in there so we can meet a quota or let's put a black person
- 19:57in there so we can meet. They're still qualified. No, that's not how that works.
- 20:00Yeah. Even if it is, they're still qualified to fly the damn plane.
- 20:05You still got to get your pilot's license. You still got to.
- 20:09Simulations All of that, so many hours All of that,
- 20:12you have to do it It's just a silly Racist ass thing to say But let's gloss
- 20:19over Let's gloss over all of that Because I'd be qualified,
- 20:22I'd be worried too Then you're a racist too So I heard somebody say That.
- 20:30We're in an environment now where you can get fired for quoting the words of
- 20:36someone who's being labeled as a hero.
- 20:39Hero loosely. All right. I think we basically shined enough light on the double
- 20:47standard that we as black people have to face on a day to day basis.
- 20:51So now let's let's move into some current events.
- 20:54What you got, bro? So something that's going on specifically for us in Indiana, energy hikes.
- 21:04I think I was telling you how my bill went from an average of 130, 135, 140.
- 21:14And then I got a bill for, I think my total bill was like $697.
- 21:20Your electric and gas is separate? Yes. Okay. My gas, summertime, $17, $18.
- 21:28Never a big deal. But even in the wintertime, my gas only goes up to about $38.
- 21:32It's not a big deal. So I want to talk about things that we know that are fact
- 21:37as it pertains, especially for us here in central Indiana.
- 21:41And we'll talk about where we're from in northwest Indiana as well.
- 21:45So the proposed rate hike that AES is putting in is 13.5%. And that's roughly
- 21:53a $21 more per month for a typical residential customer. And that's by 2027.
- 22:00First phase, a 7.5% increase is for April 2026, followed by 6% in January of 2027.
- 22:10Now, what's not in here is the fact that we just had that rate increase. That's right.
- 22:15It was like 13.9% or something like that. Yeah. Was it last year,
- 22:18beginning of this year, something like that? Yeah.
- 22:20It's fairly recent. Let's put it like that. Now, back home.
- 22:25Now, we grew up hearing folks talk about how that NIPSCO bill was $600. $700.
- 22:31They received approval for a 16.7% rate hike. Nipsco? Nipsco.
- 22:38Effective through early 2026. The increase was reduced from an initial proposed
- 22:4522% after negotiations with Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.
- 22:52So finally somebody stepped in and was like
- 22:55nah right because i can speak from experience hearing
- 22:59that now obviously my father retired from nipsco so he don't complain about
- 23:04much anyway but hearing my mother talk about nipsco bill went from 250 to 500
- 23:11even i think the last time i spoke with her about Nipsco.
- 23:16The bill was like $700.
- 23:18Who can afford that? Yeah. Yeah, you're right, bro.
- 23:22And it's colder up there than it is here because they're closer to the lake. Absolutely.
- 23:27Wow. I don't miss that hook. No, not at all. But, you know, I just wanted to briefly...
- 23:33Briefly touch on that and at least bring to light that the Regulatory Commission
- 23:38is actually fighting across the state to stop these rate hikes.
- 23:43Well, when we when we and we discussed this briefly, we were talking about these data centers. Yes.
- 23:49And how the how one they just rejected a data center to be built.
- 23:56But as they add more data centers, I mean, because eventually they're going
- 24:00to come, how that also will add to people's utility bills.
- 24:08So as we discussed the other day, there are dozens of data centers in central Indiana.
- 24:14But again, we're talking 6,000 square feet, 4,000 square feet.
- 24:18The one that they were going to build over by where I live. The Google. Yeah.
- 24:22Where the people got together. Yes. Basically forced Google to withdraw their proposal.
- 24:27Yes. I mean, you're talking about something that was like three or four Costco size, which.
- 24:33So the rub on that is the data center would not pay for all of the energy that they consume.
- 24:41Correct. Some of that cost is going to get passed on to the residents.
- 24:47That's crazy. But you know what's crazier? If they would have agreed to pay
- 24:53for all of it, the state politicians here would have found a way to raise it
- 24:58anyway so they can make more money, get more money.
- 25:01And then there's also the water consumption part as well. Which they claim was
- 25:06not going to be as much as the people who researched it said it was going to be.
- 25:13They were like, oh, it's just a couple million gallons a day.
- 25:16And the researchers were like, nah.
- 25:18Because you have to cool down your equipment. Yeah.
- 25:22Wow. And they can't recycle that water because basically it's going to evaporate because of the heat.
- 25:27So it's a constant influx of water. Yeah.
- 25:32Oh, it's always something, bro. I mean, you got to really, really,
- 25:37really pay attention to not get caught up in the okie-dope.
- 25:40And if those people wouldn't have shown up to those town halls,
- 25:43they would have. But the difference is those folks got money.
- 25:48Right. And they pay attention to what's going on. They're in those Facebook
- 25:51groups and whatnot. Right.
- 25:53So they paid attention to what's going on in their community and they showed
- 25:56up. I mean, there were hundreds of people at that place when that lawyer spoke.
- 26:01Good for them. That is excellent. And honestly, we need more community outreach,
- 26:08outlook, whatever you want to call it, because, yeah, a lot of the times these
- 26:11companies do skate by because no one's paying attention.
- 26:15And next thing you know, you've got some big building in your community and
- 26:19you're going, wait a minute, this is not what we signed up for.
- 26:23Or what the hell is that place? Or what the hell is that place?
- 26:26And they always get you with the carrot of we're going to have.
- 26:31This is going to add more jobs to the community, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
- 26:35Yeah, it's crazy. Anything else you want to cover in your current event,
- 26:38bro? Nope. That's it for me.
- 26:40All right, cool. I'm going to swing this. Man, I sort of touched on this briefly.
- 26:46Well, I mentioned his name, but I didn't talk about this in particular.
- 26:51But recently, the Charlie Kirk resolution was passed in the House of Representatives.
- 27:00And when I say recently, I mean like earlier this week, I believe.
- 27:05I don't want to talk about the resolution per se.
- 27:09What I want to talk about is the 95 Democrats that supported this resolution. Right.
- 27:19I don't understand it. I am perplexed. Now, the few interviews I've seen,
- 27:25they have been very adamant and animated about we didn't vote for Charlie Kirk.
- 27:32We voted to end political violence. And that's cool.
- 27:37Justify it however you want. But in the end, this is called the Charlie Kirk resolution.
- 27:43Solution so we are
- 27:46all against political violence but
- 27:50god damn you couldn't negotiate at all
- 27:53and go we'll vote for this if you take his name off of it
- 27:56that ain't even a hard ask is this about honoring charlie kirk or is this about
- 28:01stopping political violence if you're telling me it's about stopping political
- 28:05violence then remove his name call it something else you got my support but
- 28:11to call it to Charlie Kerr and you vote for it.
- 28:14This is why y'all lose. This is why y'all look like little sissies. This is exactly why.
- 28:22Quit playing by the old rules. On the flip side of that, you know how many Republicans
- 28:29voted for the George Floyd Act? Zero. Zero.
- 28:34Zero. You see how they stay on point? Why can't y'all stay on point?
- 28:40It makes my head want to explode.
- 28:45Old way of doing things. It's over.
- 28:49They are not playing by the same rules. You cannot continue to go.
- 28:54We're the adults in the room.
- 28:57That shit is over. Knock it off. Play by their rules.
- 29:02They bring a gun. You bring a bigger gun.
- 29:06This is why you keep losing the fight. I'm just like, what a bunch of sissies
- 29:12what a bunch of silly i can't say sissy my bad what a bunch.
- 29:25Anyway bro i'm gonna don't even edit that out leave that in that's my current
- 29:30event right there so i'm gonna add something to that what doesn't make sense
- 29:34and i saw somebody a comedian i want And if I'm wrong, I'm wrong.
- 29:39May have been Godfrey. I don't know.
- 29:41But they said that the Democrats should immediately propose a resolution after
- 29:48that event happened in Utah called the Charlie Kirk Gun Reform Act and make
- 29:57them explain why they didn't vote.
- 30:00Because, you know, as well as I do, every Republican would have either not shown
- 30:05up or said no. That's a great idea. And then you make them explain.
- 30:09I mean, since we're playing these games, you know what I'm saying?
- 30:13I mean, it's all a game to them. Yeah.
- 30:15So since you're playing games, we're going to do the same thing.
- 30:19There's no one that I know personally that I have spoken with that have publicly
- 30:24said that they're OK with political violence.
- 30:28We've seen way too many leaders over the years. And I'm sorry,
- 30:33I'm not putting him in leader category. No.
- 30:35But I'm saying we've seen way too many leaders, black and white,
- 30:40assassinated for the for the political violence act not to have already been a thing. Right.
- 30:48This is what did it. Right. That's what I said.
- 30:52Like you said, playing by the old rules, they should have immediately put a
- 30:56Charlie Kirk gun reform act on the floor. That's a great idea.
- 31:02That's great. We got two former presidents that have been assassinated.
- 31:06And this is the guy you want to prop up? Come on, man. Do better.
- 31:12Do better. Look, it took Reagan.
- 31:16Like, people don't understand. Reagan was less than a quarter of an inch away
- 31:20from that. It got him in the armpit, right? Or something like that.
- 31:23He was. It almost pierced his heart.
- 31:25Even after that, they didn't want to pass the Brady bill.
- 31:30I forgot about that. You're right. And that guy is your favorite president. Right. You're right.
- 31:36I forgot about. I forgot about the Brady. Yep. You're right.
- 31:39It's crazy. It's crazy because.
- 31:43We're trying to make a murderer out of a guy who is just a guy,
- 31:49never held political office, never served in the military, was never a public servant of any kind.
- 31:58He's just a guy, just a private citizen.
- 32:01May find this controversial and I mean you the listener, but the guy didn't
- 32:06do anything to help anyone.
- 32:07Why is he a hero? Why is he getting the hero treatment?
- 32:13Why does he get the fly? Well, not he, but his dead body gets flown on Air Force Two.
- 32:21Again, not a political, didn't hold political office, not ex-military,
- 32:28no reason your body should be flown on Air Force Two. And to me,
- 32:32that's not controversial.
- 32:34Well, you know. I mean, what you're saying to me is not controversial.
- 32:37Yeah. Because we've already stated he should still be alive.
- 32:41Right. He should be at home with his wife and his children. Sure. Period.
- 32:45Sure. And if these colleges want to host him and let him come on and debate, that's fine.
- 32:52Yeah. He should not be dead. But what happened after that is he was treated
- 32:58like he was Gandhi, Mother Teresa. Crazy.
- 33:02The MLK comparisons is like, knock it off. It's an insult. It really is an insult.
- 33:08It really is. Not just the MLK. To all of us, it's an insult.
- 33:13Yeah. Black, white, red, poor. Sure. Sure.
- 33:17Absolutely. Absolutely. Did you happen to watch any of the rally slash funeral?
- 33:23I did not. Whoo.
- 33:27Nothing but a freaking Trump political rally, dog.
- 33:31It had nothing to do with Charlie Kirk at all.
- 33:34If I'm a family member, I'm in that audience going, what the hell is this? Well, I heard that.
- 33:40I mean, obviously. And look, I don't doubt that his wife is tore up about it.
- 33:44I mean, I'm not doubting that. But I did see pictures and slight video clips
- 33:49of Trump hugging her in a weird way. I'm like, yo, what is this?
- 33:55Dude, like merchandise for sale in the lobby. All of that.
- 33:59All of that, bro. It was nothing but a political rally. It was the most disrespectful,
- 34:04quote unquote, funeral ever.
- 34:07Yeah, it was it was unreal. You got Stephen Miller gets up here and give his complete Nazi speech.
- 34:14Didn't mention Charlie Kirk not one time just
- 34:17a whole us against them we're going
- 34:20to get you we're better than you you're nothing what does this have to do with
- 34:25Charlie Kirk bro after she gets up here and says I forgive the shooter doofus
- 34:31goes right behind her and go I don't forgive anybody and it's just like wow really really bro okay.
- 34:40I hate I hate my enemies yeah
- 34:43I don't forgive anyone I'm just like I don't
- 34:46expect nothing from them oh my god it was just it
- 34:49was just absolutely horrible man but anyway
- 34:52enough about that and let me just state for the record I apologize to anyone
- 34:58who was offended by me saying what I said in the last segment not my intent
- 35:05from the old school sorry that's all I'm gonna say it. Sorry.
- 35:10Shouldn't have said it. My bad. So now it's time for our favorite segment,
- 35:18which is the RART segment, the rant about a random topic.
- 35:25And I'm going to get really random today, but stick with me.
- 35:30So earlier this week, Mackenzie Scott, you know, you know who she is? Miss Donation.
- 35:37Mackenzie Scott, for those who don't know, is Jeff Bezos' ex-wife,
- 35:43the one who helped him build Amazon, the one that he left for a GD. And I don't mean folks.
- 35:54You get that so.
- 36:01So miss mckenzie scott just
- 36:05gave 70 million dollars to the united negro college fund and hbcus good job
- 36:14i'm giving you your flowers now i'm not saying that her motivations weren't,
- 36:22altruistic. But this isn't the first time.
- 36:24She's done this twice before. Okay. Okay, cool.
- 36:27So I'm not questioning her motives. I'm not saying they're not altruistic.
- 36:33But a part of me, in my opinion,
- 36:37saying she's doing this to piss off Bezos. Let me give let me give your money
- 36:42away. This is what I think about you.
- 36:44Hold on. So here's my suggestion, McKenzie.
- 36:49Don't stop there. Go all the way.
- 36:53You really want to piss him off? Go find Keontae.
- 36:58Go find Deshaun. Go find Anquan. and start showing up in public with one of them on your arm.
- 37:08And that will really piss Jeff Bezos off. And I'm not talking about no old.
- 37:14I'm talking about a 35, 40.
- 37:17Mandingo, go get him. And that'll really piss that dude off.
- 37:22Or start your own shipping company or donate to FedEx and UPS.
- 37:29But no she has she's made
- 37:32several donations throughout the years where i personally saw him and was like
- 37:37that's strange but then you realize that jeff bezos is not feuding but like
- 37:44like market value with this person that person she'll come in and donate crazy
- 37:49amounts of money Mm hmm. To some of those.
- 37:54It's exactly what E.G. Carroll said, if she ever gets her money and that's a
- 37:58huge if she said, if she gets the money, you say, I don't even want it.
- 38:02I'm just going to donate it to like his least favorite charity.
- 38:05She said, that's what I'm going to donate the money to just to piss him off.
- 38:08And she was like, I don't even want the money. She should take it.
- 38:11And then she should go to Trump Tower everywhere and organize unions like having
- 38:16people organize unions and fund every single dime of it. That would be excellent. I support it.
- 38:23What you got for a writer? So this is like really random and stupid.
- 38:28I used to get accused of this a lot when I was still married.
- 38:31Why do we yell at two things when we're driving?
- 38:36People who can't hear us and the GPS.
- 38:41I don't do that. So I pretty much know my way around everywhere.
- 38:46The last few jobs I've had, I drive everywhere.
- 38:49But I know there's a lot of construction up north in those areas that I go to.
- 38:55So what I like to do is have it on in the background.
- 38:58Well, on I-69, this lane is closed on Sunday. This lane is closed on Monday. It's back and forth.
- 39:06The other day, when I tell you I screamed so loud at my phone,
- 39:12I had to drink water because my throat was dry.
- 39:15I was screaming at him because it was telling me to stay left,
- 39:19and both lanes were closed.
- 39:23So I done got in the left lane twice. twice.
- 39:27Because you know the first thing that we do when we merge on the highway is
- 39:31everybody merges to the left lane because everybody wants to do 120.
- 39:36I'm trying to get over so I can get past this barrage of semis.
- 39:41Both lanes closed. So I'm stuck. Dude behind me giving me the finger.
- 39:46Because I'm trying to merge.
- 39:48He doesn't want to let me over. But he realized that I'm not going to stop getting
- 39:52over. So he cussing me out giving me the finger.
- 39:55But I used to get accused all the time. Why are you yelling at them?
- 39:59They can't hear you. That part, I 100% do.
- 40:05100%. That I do. But we've had this discussion before. Yeah, absolutely.
- 40:10And it's about safety. That's why I do it. If you're out there driving like
- 40:14an idiot, you're risking my safety.
- 40:17If I got my family in the car, you're risking my family's safety.
- 40:20And not just me personally, but all of us that's out here on the highway.
- 40:24So that's why it angers me because it's just like stop
- 40:28driving like an idiot man like like you
- 40:31said dude don't want to let you in share the road bro what you
- 40:35can see where am i supposed to go at that point
- 40:38the state of indiana and i think i may have mentioned this on one
- 40:40of the previous episodes zip merging we
- 40:43are a zip merging state which means that
- 40:47you go until that road ends and
- 40:50then you alternate it's called zip merging
- 40:53it's i think the people in central in central indiana like i said before they
- 40:58need to google what yield signs mean no that's why i hate roundabouts but that
- 41:03that that's a whole nother topic no that's what i was about to mention i'll
- 41:07never forget when they put the first roundabout in hindrance county because
- 41:10that's when we had just built a house out there mm-hmm.
- 41:13Heard a radio broadcast about going to the police station to pick up your complimentary
- 41:19DVD on how to drive on roundabouts.
- 41:22Do you know how fast we got in that truck and drove to the police station? Really?
- 41:28Man, we sat there and watched that DVD and laughed. Because I'm thinking to
- 41:32myself, there's no way people need these.
- 41:35And now that they're everywhere, every police station needs to hand them out.
- 41:39They need to mail them out because people still don't know how to drive.
- 41:43Well, I don't I don't think is I don't think is that they don't know how to yield.
- 41:48I just think they refuse to do it. No one wants to yield and let the person go.
- 41:53Everyone speeds up when they start approaching the roundabout and they just
- 41:57want to zip through it like Jeff Gordon.
- 41:59And it's just like that's how accidents happen.
- 42:02That's my problem with it. That no one yields.
- 42:05Everyone speeds up instead of letting the person go through it.
- 42:09It is oh i i just feel like it's a it's
- 42:12a danger danger danger
- 42:15danger that that's that's that's what i feel like it's just danger
- 42:18so uh that's that's that's it bro that's all that's all you got on that's it
- 42:22that's all i had today okay all right cool cool cool no problem well let's move
- 42:27on to our next segment which is five on the black hand side so i must apologize okay i don't have for.
- 42:38Well, we can just talk about a movie that I know we've seen.
- 42:41I was about to say, we've seen pretty much all that. We've seen a lot.
- 42:45So, one of my favorites. Let's get into the five heartbeats.
- 42:49Well, of course. I got family in that movie, so, of course. You do?
- 42:54Yeah, Bobby in that movie. Is he? Yeah, he's in Flash and the...
- 42:58Really? He's in the group.
- 43:00Man, I did not know that, bro. He was in all them Robert Townsend movies back
- 43:04then. Okay, alright, alright, All right, cool.
- 43:06You want you want to give a brief synopsis of Five Heartbeats?
- 43:09So basically the Five Heartbeats, it's a drama.
- 43:14Of course, we're unserious about everything. So we have turned it into a comedy over the years.
- 43:19But it's about several groups feuding with one another.
- 43:22It's kind of a I don't want to say knockoff because that sounds like a bad word to use with this.
- 43:27But it's like the like the temptation. Hold it before you go there.
- 43:31Yeah. First of all, Five Heartbeats came out first. True. But here's an interesting fact.
- 43:38Five heartbeats was was originally supposed to be the temptations.
- 43:45Town told Robert Townsend, no, change it because they didn't want that negative
- 43:52publicity around the Temptations.
- 43:54So if you've seen the Temptations and you've seen the five heartbeats and you
- 43:59think that these movies are similar, you're right.
- 44:02Because the five heartbeats was originally supposed to be about the Temptations.
- 44:07Now, sorry for interrupting. No, it's all good. Go ahead. Go ahead.
- 44:10So, I mean, that's pretty much the gist of it.
- 44:13You know, the struggles, the day-to-day struggles of a group,
- 44:17the inner workings when they're on the road, the shy brother,
- 44:21which is hilarious. So many comedic moments.
- 44:25So many. Yeah. That's what we remember. Well, in my household,
- 44:29my kids, my sister-in-law watched Temptation so much. Yeah.
- 44:34When the twins were always down south, they would watch it a hundred times in
- 44:38the summer. So everything is funny in that movie today.
- 44:41Yeah. So it's it's supposed to be a drama, but we've turned it into a comedy.
- 44:48It it it does have some pretty dramatic. Yeah, absolutely. Tear jerker type moments, though.
- 44:56Well, the end. Well, the end when they when they get back together.
- 45:01But when the manager spoiler alert, when the manager gets killed,
- 45:06it's a real tear jerker moment. I was referring to, uh, well,
- 45:10obviously the end, they get together, but at church, church scene.
- 45:14Oh yeah, man. That's my favorite scene at church, bro.
- 45:17Yeah, yeah, yeah. But, uh, even like, like when they're, uh,
- 45:21when they're after the funeral and they're in their little, I don't know,
- 45:25wherever they were back in the hood.
- 45:27Cause it looked like they were in an alley or something. and dresser
- 45:31comes in and he's like eddie eddie and
- 45:35you know like the weakest fight but i get it
- 45:38because he wore he they they weren't fighting to hurt each
- 45:41other right he was like i'm hurt and i
- 45:44just want to punch you but he hugged him after he punched him a couple times
- 45:50he just sat there and hugged him and they all just sat there and cried and it's
- 45:54just like like there are some really touching moments but there are some comedic
- 45:59moments like you said shy brother and everything i personally.
- 46:03I like it better than The Temptations. Yeah. And The Temptations is great.
- 46:08The Temptations, that's a great movie. But I think I like Five Heartbeats a little bit better.
- 46:14Now, the parallels between Big Red and Barry Gordy, I didn't quite make those connections.
- 46:23Yeah, because we've never heard of Barry Gordy. Now, we've heard of some shrewd
- 46:27business dealers, but we've never heard of Barry Gordy hanging somebody over
- 46:32there. Right, right, right.
- 46:34My office hours are nine to five.
- 46:37You need to talk about my royalties right now.
- 46:41Hold on, hold on. When he hit him and threw him in the room,
- 46:46and those girls were in there, he was like, excuse me, lady. Oh, yeah.
- 46:55Big red. Yeah, it slightly touches on racism.
- 47:02Oh yeah you know and and and
- 47:05and when they were forced to sing when they were forced to
- 47:08sing when they uh wanted to put the white guys or they wanted to put the white
- 47:12people on the album cover but because they didn't want people yeah they didn't
- 47:17want people to know that uh it was a black group trying to give their song to
- 47:22the white group which happened back in the day yeah all the time Yeah,
- 47:27yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And you know what's sad?
- 47:30Hell, it even happened in our community. Sure, sure.
- 47:34I mean, think about going back to I Got the Power.
- 47:40That was, gosh, do you remember the Weather Girls? Yeah, absolutely.
- 47:44That was the Weather Girls singing that, bro. Yeah, because remember when she was on Arsenio?
- 47:48Yeah. And Arsenio asked her to sing, and she sang it. Yeah.
- 47:52And people were like, that's you? Yeah, Freedom Williams was a straight up fraud,
- 47:58like Milli Vanilli, a fraud.
- 48:02I just lost my train of thought. Hey, Freedom Williams going to come looking for me.
- 48:07Thinking of Milli Vanilli. What was the other one? LL.
- 48:13Mean doing it and doing it and the girl in
- 48:16the video that ain't the girl that's rapping oh really no sir
- 48:19i did not know that no sir oh wow
- 48:21the girl that's rapping is hood i did
- 48:24not know that yeah no that's that's not her and
- 48:27he got criticized big time for that i mean but he's he's spoken
- 48:30about it since then and the girl that said that rap she's spoken
- 48:33about it and i think they all good but yeah at that time
- 48:36the record label def jam didn't want her in the video oh wow I'm
- 48:40gonna look that up yeah I did I did not I did not know that bro yeah yeah it's
- 48:45yeah it's crazy how the music industry would just take your song and give it
- 48:49to somebody else nah you're ugly we don't want you like what well well think
- 48:54about the British lady beautiful voice Susan Boyle,
- 48:59oh yeah can sing her ass off she didn't have the look so she never blew up but
- 49:06was like the best singer probably since Whitney Houston, in my opinion.
- 49:11Now, we loved her here because of the show.
- 49:14And then obviously over in the UK, she blew up. But that was it.
- 49:19I think she made two albums. The first one did very well. And the second one... Great voice.
- 49:25Yeah. Oh, yeah. Great voice. Came out of nowhere. If she was a little bit cute,
- 49:31a little bit sexy, she would have took off.
- 49:34She'd be hosting an award show by now. Absolutely.
- 49:38Absolutely it's crazy how the music industry isn't
- 49:42so much well it is about talent but also about your
- 49:46look and your image which is why i've
- 49:49always liked tlc because they were like we're not going to be sexy we're not
- 49:54going to wear the tight clothes we're going to come out with the baggy clothes
- 49:57because we don't want you to be what's the word i want to now they did a couple
- 50:04videos Where they had on some tight fitted stuff.
- 50:07But yeah, they were like, don't. They never change. It's not about our bodies.
- 50:12Excuse me bless you bless you thank you thank you sorry y'all allergies but
- 50:17yeah it's it's so it's so tied to i got is it just for women i mean do they
- 50:23do they do it to the men also,
- 50:25seem like it happens more to women i mean it definitely happens more to women
- 50:29but i mean i'm sure that there's some uh some men throughout the years rather
- 50:33it be actors that just didn't have the look that just didn't have the look i
- 50:38mean something that's something to definitely looking to the...
- 50:42I mean, Seal didn't have to look, but yeah, Seal, you're catching some strains.
- 50:50But at least he kept his physique in tip-top shape. Yeah, well,
- 50:55nobody about to tell Seal he couldn't sing. Yeah.
- 50:59He talked briefly recently about the stuff on his face.
- 51:03And I forget exactly what it was, but it was... Is it... Gosh,
- 51:07I want to say lepers, but that's not...
- 51:10And he said it came pretty much just came out of nowhere. He just just dealt with it.
- 51:16He had Heidi Klum. So she didn't care. Nope. So kudos. Kudos for that. She didn't care at all.
- 51:26What do you want to rate? Five on the blackhand side, bro. Is this a classic?

- 52:081991 Something like that Yeah somewhere around there Yeah yeah yeah go back
- 52:12and check out five heartbeats We consider it a classic Definitely a high five
- 52:18On the black hand side Yes sir All right.
- 52:21So now we're going to move into our closing monologue. My brother, the floor is yours.
- 52:29All right. So I want to briefly talk about free speech.
- 52:34So free speech has come under fire recently with the indefinite suspension of
- 52:41Jimmy Kimmel and then the turnaround.
- 52:42And look, I don't spend my evenings listening to and or watching Jimmy Kimmel,
- 52:47but I believe he had the right to say any and everything that he said.
- 52:52So for those that don't understand, free speech is more than words.
- 52:56It's the backbone of who we are. It's our democracy.
- 52:59It allows us to challenge power, speak truth and defend our rights.
- 53:03If a government strips that away from you, it's not just silencing voices.
- 53:07It's erasing accountability.
- 53:09It's rewriting history and creating a society where fear replaces freedom.
- 53:14Without free speech, people don't just lose their voices, they lose power.
- 53:19And when the people lose their power, tyranny takes its place.
- 53:24It bro that's all you got that's it all right cool short and
