• 2:38
Speaker 3: Good morning sir, how are you hey?
• 2:39
Speaker 4: Good morning, Dave, thank you for being here.
• 2:42
Speaker 3: It is time for Trick or Beat. It's tomorrow night
• 2:44
Speaker 3: at Go Mark Ballpark. How many years we've been doing this?
• 2:47
Speaker 6: This is our nineteenth annual. Nineteenth annual, yes, nineteen years,
• 2:52
Speaker 6: going strong, and each and every year it gets bigger
• 2:54
  Speaker 6: and better.
• 2:54
Speaker 3: You're right about that. Now it's tomorrow night. Gomartin Ballpark.
• 2:57
Speaker 3: Big shout out for the folks that's slangled off against
• 3:01
Speaker 3: sponsoring the event. There are two sessions, yes, six and
• 3:04
Speaker 3: seven thirty. But gee, that first session pretty much sold
• 3:07
Speaker 3: out at this point.
• 3:08
Speaker 4: Correct, there's no, well, not sold out.
• 3:10
Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, I don't really don't know what to
• 3:12
  Speaker 3: call it. I mean, it's the I mean it's so
• 3:15
Speaker 3: because we don't charge for tickets. The tickets are gone, yes, yeah,
• 3:19
Speaker 3: for the first session exact. And and the only reason
• 3:22
Speaker 3: is I always have people that ask me every year,
• 3:24
Speaker 3: you know why if it's a free event, why do
• 3:26
Speaker 3: you need tickets? So why don't you explain that You've
• 3:28
Speaker 3: been on this since day one? So explain it.
• 3:30
Speaker 6: Well, we have the tickets so we can control how
• 3:33
Speaker 6: many kids come in.
• 3:34
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 3:35
Speaker 6: And plus we of course we give we feed them,
• 3:38
Speaker 6: we give them free pieces. So we need to know exactly,
• 3:42
Speaker 6: you know, how much pieces we need to have, and
• 3:44
Speaker 6: we give our I don't want to call them our vendors,
• 3:47
Speaker 6: our sponsors. We tell them so they know exactly how
• 3:50
Speaker 6: much candy they need to buy. Because the concept is
• 3:53
Speaker 6: we want to provide a safe place for you to
• 3:56
Speaker 6: bring your child to trick or treaty, and so what
• 3:58
Speaker 6: they do is they come to the ballpark and they
• 4:00
Speaker 6: walk around the concourse and each one of our sponsors
• 4:04
Speaker 6: are set up around the concourse in a ballpark and
• 4:06
Speaker 6: they just get candy from each one of our sponsors.
• 4:10
Speaker 3: And last year we did like thirty five hundred kids
• 4:12
Speaker 3: or something like that. Last year it was incredible, Yes, incredible.
• 4:16
Speaker 3: Now we do want to remind you again the tickets
• 4:19
Speaker 3: are gone for session one. There are tickets available.
• 4:22
Speaker 4: And it's very limited.
• 4:24
Speaker 6: I just check and we have about about one hundred
• 4:27
Speaker 6: somewhere between one hundred and one hundred and fifty for
• 4:29
Speaker 6: the second session or.
• 4:30
Speaker 3: Second session, which starts at seven point thirty. Yes, and
• 4:34
Speaker 3: I would plan on if I were you getting those
• 4:37
Speaker 3: tickets probably sometime over the next couple of hours. I
• 4:39
Speaker 3: wouldn't wait till tomorrow.
• 4:41
Speaker 6: Well, I can guarantee you they it won't be any tomorrow.
• 4:45
Speaker 6: I can guarantee you that I was on the area yesterday.
• 4:48
Speaker 6: People was calling me trying to come in yesterday to
• 4:50
Speaker 6: pick up tickets on a Sunday. Yeah, so no, you
• 4:54
Speaker 6: got to pick them up today. And like I say,
• 4:56
Speaker 6: if you wait, you're not going to be able to
• 4:58
  Speaker 6: get parents Todork.
• 4:59
Speaker 3: Yeah, and parents don't don't need tickets. It's just for
• 5:02
Speaker 3: the it's just for the kids exactly. So if you're
• 5:04
Speaker 3: a let's say you're a mom and you got three kids,
• 5:07
Speaker 3: then you just need three ticks. You don't need four
• 5:09
Speaker 3: because you automatically get in. And I would say, and
• 5:14
Speaker 3: I had something going on, I didn't get to do
• 5:15
Speaker 3: it last year, but I will be there this year.
• 5:17
Speaker 3: I'll be there tomorrow night. I would I would say
• 5:20
Speaker 3: to you this be patient, because please, because there's a
• 5:26
Speaker 3: little bit of a line. They don't let everybody in,
• 5:28
Speaker 3: you know, at one time. There's an orderly fashion that.
• 5:31
Speaker 6: You got to go to exactly, and once you get in,
• 5:33
Speaker 6: it goes pretty quick. It's just you know, like you say,
• 5:36
Speaker 6: the line and getting in, once you get through the gates,
• 5:40
Speaker 6: it goes pretty quick, sure, you know. And parents, you know,
• 5:45
Speaker 6: if you want to, you know, just lollygag and walk,
• 5:49
Speaker 6: you know, then hey, it's going to take that much time.
• 5:50
Speaker 6: But if you go to each station, each one of
• 5:53
Speaker 6: our sponsors, our community partners as we like to call them,
• 5:57
Speaker 6: and get your candy and keep it moving, that that
• 5:59
Speaker 6: will help the FLO.
• 6:00
Speaker 3: Give me an idea of approximately how many of our
• 6:04
Speaker 3: sponsors will be set up there and given out candy
• 6:06
  Speaker 3: just approximately ballpark.
• 6:08
Speaker 6: Well, I tell you our community partners, and again we
• 6:12
Speaker 6: got to say thank you to Selango Law, the Charleston
• 6:14
Speaker 6: Dirty Birds, West Virginia Health Right, Charleston Blueprint, Pizza Hut.
• 6:18
Speaker 4: Of course they're providing the pizza for the kids.
• 6:21
Speaker 6: C AMC Women and Children's Hospital, Appalachian Power Company, the
• 6:25
Speaker 6: City of Charleston. I love the mayor she of course,
• 6:28
Speaker 6: she comes every year. She dresses up so you know,
• 6:31
Speaker 6: and she she gets she really gets involved. She do
• 6:35
Speaker 6: she takes pictures with all of she at least all
• 6:37
Speaker 6: of the kids. She tries to get pictures with all
• 6:40
Speaker 6: of the kids. So I would say, Dave, probably at
• 6:42
Speaker 6: least about about twenty five to thirty of our community.
• 6:47
Speaker 3: Many sponsors, I mean the people that you mentioned. You know,
• 6:50
Speaker 3: sometimes schedules get in the way, but I mean pretty
• 6:52
Speaker 3: much all those people are going to be there. Charleston
• 6:54
Speaker 3: Police Department, I think you mentioned them too. They're also
• 6:55
Speaker 3: a big part of this, always a big part of it.
• 6:58
Speaker 6: And they have their tables set up out, you know,
• 7:00
Speaker 6: out there giving out candy and information you know, to
• 7:04
Speaker 6: the kids to be I think they call them junior
• 7:06
Speaker 6: patrol men or something like that. So, I mean, this
• 7:10
Speaker 6: is really a great community event and we bring everyone
• 7:13
Speaker 6: together and like I say, provide a safe place for
• 7:15
Speaker 6: your child to come at Trick or Treat.
• 7:17
Speaker 3: Again, we're talking to g Money from her sister station
• 7:19
Speaker 3: the beach Tricker Beat is happening tomorrow night at Go
• 7:21
Speaker 3: Martin Ballpark. But Dave Island showing five vidy likee brought
• 7:24
Speaker 3: to you in part by Pinnacle Consultants. Poor indoor air
• 7:26
Speaker 3: quality can cause a variety of health issues. Allergies, respiratory
• 7:29
Speaker 3: problems are more. Pinnacle offers specialized indoor air quality services
• 7:32
Speaker 3: for residential, commercial, and industrial type settings. Vis A Pinnacle Corp.
• 7:35
Speaker 3: Dot net. Because what you don't know can't hurt you.
• 7:38
Speaker 3: Give me go back in your mind, gee and think
• 7:41
Speaker 3: about a couple of really good stories that you've had
• 7:43
Speaker 3: from Trick or Beat. I mean, you know, just just
• 7:46
  Speaker 3: a couple.
• 7:46
Speaker 6: Well, Dave, I tell you, I tell you, the main
• 7:48
Speaker 6: story that just pops out is how we all get
• 7:50
Speaker 6: how we started this. Okay, a former leasially everyone knows
• 7:56
Speaker 6: Leicially she had just had her a child, and she's
• 7:59
Speaker 6: like she had to be on the air because she
• 8:03
Speaker 6: was our night DJ and she had to be on
• 8:07
Speaker 6: the air. So she went to the GM She's like,
• 8:09
Speaker 6: I want to take my child trigger treating, but I
• 8:11
Speaker 6: have to be on the air. Can we, you know,
• 8:13
Speaker 6: come up with some something that we can do. So
• 8:17
Speaker 6: Lisha and Woody sit down and came up with Tricker Beat.
• 8:21
Speaker 6: And the very first year, actually the first two years, me,
• 8:26
Speaker 6: Woody and Lisha, we were doing all I mean literally
• 8:29
Speaker 6: we did all of the footwork, running around to every
• 8:32
Speaker 6: piece of place in the city asking him to donate
• 8:35
Speaker 6: pizza so and going around getting businesses to donate candy,
• 8:42
Speaker 6: and and it just grew from that. And that right
• 8:45
Speaker 6: there is the main that just sticks out in my
• 8:47
Speaker 6: mind from you know, any story that we can tell
• 8:50
Speaker 6: from Trigcker Beat, That right there is the number one thing,
• 8:53
Speaker 6: you know. And like I said, it grew and we
• 8:55
Speaker 6: provide a safe place for you to bring.
• 8:58
Speaker 3: It was the first was the first one of the but's.
• 9:00
Speaker 4: Been at the ballpark for nineteen years.
• 9:03
Speaker 3: And so those folks, you know, no matter who the
• 9:04
Speaker 3: owners were, they've always stepped up to the plate for
• 9:06
  Speaker 3: us here.
• 9:07
Speaker 6: Yes, always stepped up to the plate and provided a
• 9:09
Speaker 6: safe place for us to provide the children to come
• 9:12
  Speaker 6: in church.
• 9:12
Speaker 3: And there is one hundred percent safe and again you
• 9:15
Speaker 3: know well lit and uh and plus you know they've
• 9:18
Speaker 3: been over there working on the selangol all light the night.
• 9:21
Speaker 3: You get a little bit a little preview of what
• 9:23
  Speaker 3: it looked like.
• 9:24
Speaker 6: Yes, and I know last year they actually did turn
• 9:27
Speaker 6: off all of the lights so and lit the lights
• 9:30
Speaker 6: up so people can get a little sneak peek.
• 9:32
Speaker 4: Of what was to come.
• 9:34
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's going to be a great night. But again,
• 9:36
Speaker 3: one thing we wanted to tell you is if you're
• 9:38
Speaker 3: gonna bring your kids, your grandkids, whatever, you need to
• 9:41
Speaker 3: get those tickets today. They're available at our studios eleven
• 9:44
Speaker 3: eleven Virginia Street. D's here in Charleston. You know, normally
• 9:47
Speaker 3: we say between the hours of eight and five. However,
• 9:50
Speaker 3: I don't know what they're going to be left after
• 9:52
Speaker 3: five o'clock today, So why don't you just go ahead
• 9:54
Speaker 3: and plan on coming in maybe just as soon as
• 9:56
Speaker 3: you can get here. We've already had people I was
• 9:58
Speaker 3: talking to Tracy outfront. We've already had We've had you
• 10:01
Speaker 3: said you had people calling you while you were on
• 10:02
Speaker 3: the air on the beat yesterday. We had people showing up,
• 10:05
Speaker 3: like you know, at seven thirty this morning. Poor Tracy
• 10:07
Speaker 3: wasn't even here yet. We had to tell him to
• 10:09
  Speaker 3: come back.
• 10:09
Speaker 6: Yeah, and keep in mind again, we only have about
• 10:13
Speaker 6: one hundred and fifty left. And you can't come in
• 10:16
Speaker 6: here and say, oh, I need fifteen tickets. Yeah, you know,
• 10:19
Speaker 6: get whatever you need, but the max is six per family.
• 10:23
Speaker 6: So if you only need three, you got three kids,
• 10:26
Speaker 6: just get the three tickets.
• 10:28
  Speaker 7: Yeah, right.
• 10:29
Speaker 3: The two sessions again, the first session is gone that
• 10:32
Speaker 3: sorts at six and the second session is at seven
• 10:34
Speaker 3: point thirty. Been kind of keeping an eye on the
• 10:37
Speaker 3: weather a little bit because there's a chance of some
• 10:39
Speaker 3: rain and they've kind of gone back and forth, but
• 10:41
Speaker 3: there might be a little light rain.
• 10:42
Speaker 4: But like you and I were.
• 10:43
Speaker 3: Talking off the air man, it's Halloween. You're supposed to
• 10:46
Speaker 3: be a little bit dark and spooky, right.
• 10:47
Speaker 4: A little sprinkle is not going to hurt you.
• 10:49
  Speaker 2: It's not.
• 10:49
Speaker 3: There's no severe weather or anything like that. And the
• 10:52
Speaker 3: kid you'll put your kids in the costumes, bring them out.
• 10:54
Speaker 3: As you said, most of the people that are our
• 10:57
Speaker 3: community partners are going to be in costume. It's always
• 11:00
Speaker 3: a big deal to see what the Mayor's gonna wears
• 11:03
Speaker 3: always always and what he would will be there running
• 11:07
Speaker 3: around to what he couldn't be with us this morning
• 11:08
  Speaker 3: he had a doctor's pointment. He's out there. He'll be
• 11:10
Speaker 3: out there with us as well. And again, it's not
• 11:13
Speaker 3: just about the candy though, we got all kinds of
• 11:14
Speaker 3: other things going on there. Information. It's just a good
• 11:17
Speaker 3: time in a safe environment for the kids exactly.
• 11:20
Speaker 6: And like you say, you know we've been telling you
• 11:22
Speaker 6: for the last two three weeks, get your child's costumes
• 11:24
Speaker 6: ready because this is each and every year is going
• 11:27
Speaker 6: to be big and you never know what we may
• 11:31
  Speaker 6: do tomorrow night.
• 11:31
Speaker 3: It's one of the biggest events that we put on
• 11:34
Speaker 3: every year for sure. Yeah, absolutely, g money of one
• 11:38
Speaker 3: of seven three to the beat. I appreciate you being here.
• 11:39
Speaker 3: We'll see you tomorrow out the ballpart man. Thanks a lot.
• 11:42
Speaker 3: Get those tickets. Get those tickets all right, Get in
• 11:45
Speaker 3: here now and get those tickets all right, because they're
• 11:47
Speaker 3: going to the first sessions already gone. Second session are
• 11:50
Speaker 3: going to be gone probably by the end of the day.
• 11:52
Speaker 3: So if you haven't got those tickets yet, make sure
• 11:53
Speaker 3: you do. G money from the Beat. The Dave Island

  Speaker 11: I understand why it's.
• 15:40
  Speaker 3: Right right, It's it's I was talking to g Money
• 15:44
Speaker 3: off the air and Mayor Goodwin told me one time,
• 15:46
Speaker 3: and this is true of any town that no matter
• 15:48
Speaker 3: what goes on in a town, whether it's potholes, whether
• 15:51
Speaker 3: it's snow removal, whether it's crime, whatever, the things that
• 15:55
Speaker 3: get people to most upset are trick or treat night
• 15:58
Speaker 3: and Christmas parades. That's what gets I.
• 16:00
Speaker 11: Mean, I've seen that happen. Yeah, and I'm excited about
• 16:04
Speaker 11: tricker beat. That's always gonna be the more fun. I've
• 16:06
Speaker 11: got to go to the next kitchen table Tours I've
• 16:09
Speaker 11: I've been as a participant and as a candy giver
• 16:12
Speaker 11: outer and it's a lot of fun. Tricker beats great.
• 16:15
Speaker 11: So people should pick up tickets.
• 16:16
Speaker 3: You get them. The first session's gone, so you need
• 16:18
Speaker 3: if you it's the seven thirty session, and again they're
• 16:21
Speaker 3: gonna be gone by the end of the day. All right,
• 16:23
Speaker 3: let's talk about these kitchen table tours. You've been all
• 16:25
Speaker 3: over the state. You've been at a lot of them.
• 16:27
Speaker 3: I know last week there was one down in Mingo
• 16:30
Speaker 3: County in Gilbert pretty well. Atten had Pushkin on the
• 16:33
Speaker 3: show on Metro News Midday. He talked about that. What's
• 16:36
Speaker 3: your takeaway from these kitchen table events.
• 16:38
Speaker 11: They've been great. It's just been great to hear from folks.
• 16:40
Speaker 11: We've had I believe eight so far. People want us
• 16:44
Speaker 11: to come to more places in the state. It's just
• 16:46
Speaker 11: been great to listen. We've heard a lot of the
• 16:48
Speaker 11: same things, a couple different things. Most of the talks,
• 16:52
Speaker 11: lots of people talk to us about what's going on
• 16:54
Speaker 11: at the federal government with Medicaid shut with Medicaid changes
• 16:57
Speaker 11: coming up. Lots of people are worried about losing their
• 16:59
Speaker 11: home care. A lot of people talk about education, public education,
• 17:03
Speaker 11: school consolidation, a little bit about data centers, kind of
• 17:06
Speaker 11: all over the place.
• 17:08
Speaker 3: Do you think that those delegate young in an elected office,
• 17:13
Speaker 3: whether it's legislators, whether it's mayors, senators, whatever, should meet
• 17:18
Speaker 3: with the public more.
• 17:19
Speaker 7: Yes, absolutely, I mean.
• 17:21
Speaker 3: Because there's you know, there's some pushbacks on certain certain one.
• 17:25
Speaker 3: I canna mentioned any names, but there are certain ones
• 17:27
Speaker 3: that people said, well, when was the last time he
• 17:29
Speaker 3: or she met with the community. Like, I'll give you
• 17:31
Speaker 3: folks credit. You guys are going into the communities and
• 17:34
Speaker 3: you're meeting with these people. And from what Pushkin has
• 17:37
Speaker 3: told me about some of these it's not just Democrats
• 17:39
Speaker 3: that are showing up, not at all.
• 17:41
Speaker 11: No, it's people all over. It's for everybody. It's not
• 17:43
  Speaker 11: just for democrats.
• 17:44
Speaker 3: It's the kitchen table a bit.
• 17:45
Speaker 11: Yeah, we just want to talk about issues and mostly listen,
• 17:48
Speaker 11: I've learned about a lot of different issues that I
• 17:50
Speaker 11: didn't know about. You know, we have to know a
• 17:53
Speaker 11: lot about everything, so it's really hard to do. And
• 17:56
  Speaker 11: so I've learned a lot about issues that I didn't
• 17:58
  Speaker 11: know anything about.
• 17:59
Speaker 3: How different have they been because I very well, here's
• 18:04
Speaker 3: what I learned, you know, Amanda Bearr and my co
• 18:06
Speaker 3: host on Metro News middate. She did the one in Huntington.
• 18:09
Speaker 3: She was sort of serving as the as the moderator.
• 18:12
Speaker 3: I guess the one Huntington, and she did the one
• 18:13
Speaker 3: at Charleston, and you know, they're not that far apart,
• 18:16
Speaker 3: but they were very different there.
• 18:18
Speaker 11: Every single one has its own personality. They've all been
• 18:22
Speaker 11: very different, and I imagine flat Woods will be different
• 18:24
Speaker 11: this week. I imagine Beckley will be different next week.
• 18:29
Speaker 11: They're all they've all got their own flavor, just like
• 18:31
Speaker 11: our you know, every community does.
• 18:33
Speaker 3: So when and where is the one in flat Woods.
• 18:36
Speaker 11: Smart Night in flat Woods? I don't know where it is.
• 18:38
Speaker 11: I need to figure it out. But you can follow
• 18:40
Speaker 11: us on West Virginia House Democrats Facebook page. And it's
• 18:43
Speaker 11: not just the House. Senator Garcia has been with us
• 18:46
Speaker 11: as well, but yeah, you can follow us on Facebook
• 18:49
Speaker 11: and the event information will be on there.
• 18:52
Speaker 3: I want to talk about some national stuff for a moment,
• 18:54
Speaker 3: Delegate and you, and we're talking with Delegate Kaylee Young.
• 18:56
Speaker 3: If there isn't a resolution reached, Snap benefits going to
• 19:00
Speaker 3: go away starting on November first, which is this Saturday.
• 19:03
Speaker 3: And you obviously have concerns about that.
• 19:05
Speaker 11: I have a lot of concerns about that. You know,
• 19:07
Speaker 11: I've fought for children forever and ever. I food security
• 19:10
Speaker 11: is something that's really important to me. Over two hundred
• 19:13
Speaker 11: and seventy thousand West Virginians receive staff benefits. Of that
• 19:16
Speaker 11: two hundred and seventy thousand, over one hundred thousand of
• 19:20
Speaker 11: those are children. And so I'm very concerned about snap
• 19:23
Speaker 11: benefits ending this weekend.
• 19:26
Speaker 3: And they're scheduled, you know, as you said, to end
• 19:29
  Speaker 3: on November.
• 19:30
Speaker 11: The first, Yes, they are. That's very soon. The holiday
• 19:33
Speaker 11: seasons are approaching. I think I believe that today might
• 19:37
Speaker 11: be the cutoff for if it doesn't happen today, they're
• 19:41
Speaker 11: going to get pushback regardless. So I'm worried for people.
• 19:45
Speaker 11: People need to eat well.
• 19:47
Speaker 3: And speaking of which, I read something the other day
• 19:50
Speaker 3: that maybe with the trigg or treat happening you know,
• 19:55
Speaker 3: Thursday or Friday night, depending on where you live, it's
• 19:57
Speaker 3: Friday night to where I live in Putnam County, that
• 20:00
Speaker 3: people may want to consider handing out more practical things
• 20:03
Speaker 3: for trick or treaty, maybe not so much snickers and
• 20:06
Speaker 3: suckers and more more practical because I don't know how
• 20:08
Speaker 3: the kids are going to feel, Like, yeah, I have.
• 20:11
Speaker 11: Like mixed feelings about that, right mostly because like our children,
• 20:15
Speaker 11: What are children going to think about that when they
• 20:17
Speaker 11: just have like a whole bunch of rom noodles and
• 20:19
Speaker 11: mac and cheese in their tree sooxes? And then how
• 20:22
Speaker 11: do the parents explain that to the children. And it's
• 20:24
Speaker 11: also like, depending on what neighborhood you're in, are those
• 20:27
Speaker 11: the people that need it? I think there's better, more
• 20:29
Speaker 11: tangible ways to help, way better ways to help. But
• 20:33
  Speaker 11: I mean, I don't think it's a bad idea by
• 20:35
Speaker 11: any means. I also really want to point out the
• 20:37
Speaker 11: governor expedited one point one million dollars that was allocated
• 20:41
Speaker 11: in this this year's budget to our food banks. So
• 20:44
Speaker 11: they were already going to get it, it's just he
• 20:46
Speaker 11: expedited it to get it there faster. So I want
• 20:49
Speaker 11: to commend him for doing that and also ask him
• 20:52
Speaker 11: to do some more. Call the legislature and.
• 20:54
Speaker 3: I was going to say, what would you like to
• 20:55
  Speaker 3: see him do?
• 20:56
Speaker 11: So there's a lot of options he could do. He
• 20:58
Speaker 11: could use this contingency fund. It's forty seven million dollars
• 21:01
Speaker 11: that it costs to pay for snap in West Virginia
• 21:04
Speaker 11: for one month, forty seven million dollars. He's probably got
• 21:07
Speaker 11: that in his contingency fund. If not, call the legislature
• 21:10
Speaker 11: in and let us appropriate some money to do it
• 21:13
Speaker 11: or uh. One state has called in the National Guard
• 21:16
Speaker 11: to help at food banks. There's options here, but we
• 21:19
Speaker 11: cannot let West Virginians go hungry.
• 21:21
Speaker 3: And again, this is a very very very real thing.
• 21:24
Speaker 3: And here's what I talked about last week. When it
• 21:26
Speaker 3: comes to the shutdown and things of that nature, most
• 21:28
Speaker 3: people see Washington has just been so far removed from
• 21:32
Speaker 3: their daily lives. I do they, well, normal people do.
• 21:35
Speaker 3: I mean, because you hear about the budgets and you
• 21:38
Speaker 3: hear about it and it's not really anything you can
• 21:40
Speaker 3: wrap your head around, so to speak. But this is real.
• 21:45
Speaker 3: I mean, this is this is this. And you mentioned
• 21:47
Speaker 3: the Medicaid cuts as well, and that's something else that's
• 21:51
Speaker 3: got a lot of people can start and talking about that.
• 21:52
Speaker 3: But about the Medican get I.
• 21:53
Speaker 11: Mean, the Medicaid cuts are they're coming. And you know
• 21:57
Speaker 11: that's a big fight that's going on with this shutdown
• 21:59
Speaker 11: right now. I don't I want to get into what
• 22:01
Speaker 11: each side's fighting for. And fighting against I couldn't care
• 22:03
Speaker 11: less about that. What I care about are people having
• 22:06
Speaker 11: healthcare and people having food and being able to get
• 22:09
Speaker 11: through the day, right. I mean, I know in our
• 22:11
Speaker 11: legislature we've had a lot of people this year who
• 22:14
Speaker 11: have said make America healthy again. That's a big movement
• 22:17
Speaker 11: that's going on right now. I don't know how we
• 22:19
Speaker 11: can claim that we're making people healthy while that we're
• 22:21
Speaker 11: taking away the food from children and elderly people, people
• 22:25
Speaker 11: that are working and their dependence. I just this is
• 22:28
Speaker 11: a very real, very pressing issue, and if we don't
• 22:31
Speaker 11: get some sort of solution by this weekend, we're going
• 22:34
Speaker 11: to have a lot of hungry West Virginians and also
• 22:38
Speaker 11: less important but still important nine billion dollars missing from
• 22:43
Speaker 11: our economy that goes into grocery stores. That's very real too.
• 22:47
Speaker 3: You know, we had a minister on the show on
• 22:50
Speaker 3: Friday who operates a food bank actually in Putnam County,
• 22:53
Speaker 3: and then later today on Metro News Midday, we're going
• 22:55
Speaker 3: to talk to the folks a Mountaineer food bank as well.
• 22:57
  Speaker 11: Yeah.
• 22:57
Speaker 3: I think there's also a misconception about people that are
• 23:01
Speaker 3: using these food banks and medicaid and so on and
• 23:04
Speaker 3: so forth. I mean, the overwhelming majority of people that
• 23:07
Speaker 3: are on Medicaid are working.
• 23:08
  Speaker 4: Hey, they are.
• 23:09
Speaker 11: And please remember that those work requirements that were passed
• 23:11
Speaker 11: in the Big Bill earlier this year, they also kick
• 23:14
Speaker 11: in this Saturday, so it's getting stricter this weekend as well,
• 23:20
Speaker 11: and it might not be there at all. So, yes,
• 23:22
Speaker 11: most people that receive benefits are working, or they have
• 23:25
Speaker 11: very young children, or they have a disability. Those are
• 23:29
Speaker 11: the people we are in charge of taking care of.
• 23:31
Speaker 3: Are you hopeful? I mean, obviously we want everybody wants
• 23:34
Speaker 3: to shut down to come to it. Are you hopeful?
• 23:36
Speaker 3: Do you see any like that it may come to
• 23:37
  Speaker 3: an ambiacary.
• 23:38
Speaker 11: From the federal government. Absolutely not, which is why I'm
• 23:40
Speaker 11: calling on the governor to step up for West Virginia
• 23:43
Speaker 11: and do more for West Virginians. I'm very thankful for
• 23:46
Speaker 11: what he did do, but we have to do more.
• 23:48
Speaker 11: I heard him say, you know, West Virginians really need
• 23:51
Speaker 11: to step up, and they really need to donate to
• 23:53
Speaker 11: all of our food banks. And yes, we absolutely all
• 23:56
Speaker 11: need to be doing everything we can to donate to
• 23:58
Speaker 11: our food banks and food pantries. I'm glad they're coming
• 24:00
Speaker 11: on they're wonderful, but they can't fill those gaps. They
• 24:03
Speaker 11: can't one point one million dollars. That's four dollars for
• 24:06
Speaker 11: every person on on snap right. That's that's not enough.
• 24:09
Speaker 11: That's not going to feed people for even a single day.
• 24:12
Speaker 11: That is not enough. And also, I don't know about you,
• 24:15
Speaker 11: but every time I go to the grocery store, I
• 24:17
Speaker 11: walk out and I'm like, whooh, that was a lot
• 24:19
Speaker 11: more expensive than I thought it was going to be.
• 24:21
Speaker 11: So whatever your income level is, everybody's pension pennies right now,
• 24:25
Speaker 11: and we're getting into the holiday season where everything's more expensive.
• 24:29
Speaker 11: So yes, we want West Virginia's to step up and
• 24:31
Speaker 11: do more, but I understand not everybody can do that
• 24:33
Speaker 11: right now. So we need the government to step in
• 24:36
Speaker 11: cover the food benefits for these people for at least
• 24:39
Speaker 11: the next month because we can't count on the federal
• 24:41
Speaker 11: government to get it done.
• 24:43

Speaker 11: a dire situation. Get to work, and also call our
• 25:20
Speaker 11: governor and tell him that the state needs to step
• 25:23
Speaker 11: up in the meantime like all the others, not all
• 25:25
Speaker 11: the other states, but a lot of other states are
• 25:27
Speaker 11: stepping up. They're not just blue states. Red states are
• 25:30
Speaker 11: stepping up. Louisiana just put one hundred and fifty million
• 25:32
Speaker 11: dollars towards this. We need forty seven million dollars to
• 25:35
Speaker 11: get it done. And the governor can do that on

Speaker 3: to Greg Carey about that. It's Mayor Monday, which means

Speaker 3: we talked to another great mayor from around the stage.
• 28:54
Speaker 3: To day, we had to Raleigh County to talk to

• 29:21
Speaker 3: Me Noon to three Today powered by Selango Law. Let
• 29:24
Speaker 3: me knock out a couple of texts here. Text says Dave,
• 29:27
Speaker 3: Why is WCCHS promoting Tony Hodge's Charlie Kirk and doctrination
• 29:32
Speaker 3: class on the morning news? Is that important? Is the
• 29:35
Speaker 3: news that's slow? Is your station in mid range? Propaganda
• 29:38
Speaker 3: outlet for theocratic fascism? Know and know it seems so
• 29:43
Speaker 3: to those questions, That's exactly what we are. As a
• 29:45
Speaker 3: matter of fact, I have business cards made. This says
• 29:48
Speaker 3: propaganda outlet for Fascism. I have business cards.
• 29:51
Speaker 7: That say when's Tony going to be on?
• 29:53
Speaker 3: He will be on twelve forty five today today.
• 29:57
Speaker 7: Yeah, well I want to hear that, all right. Yeah
• 30:00
  Speaker 7: he's a friend.
• 30:01
  Speaker 3: That's Danny Jones.
• 30:03
  Speaker 7: I like to Oh, I'm sorry, dude, I don't care.
• 30:07
Speaker 3: I mean people know you. I want to so you
• 30:09
Speaker 3: can jump in here. Other than not. Got a couple
• 30:11
Speaker 3: of texts though, okay right. Another text says nine billion
• 30:14
Speaker 3: dollars will be missing from grocery stores if Snap isn't available.
• 30:16
Speaker 3: It seems like a lot of grocery company's bottom lines
• 30:19
Speaker 3: will be affected. It says a texture, uh, handout blooney
• 30:26
Speaker 3: sandwiches for everyone. Have you seen the price of boloney?
• 30:28
Speaker 3: You can buy steak for what you can buy a
• 30:30
Speaker 3: blooney for right now. I don't think that they were
• 30:32
Speaker 3: talking about Halloween. I don't think that's necessarily a good idea.
• 30:36
Speaker 3: Text says that Dave, I see where local businessman's stepping
• 30:39
Speaker 3: up to feed our children while the government shutdown is
• 30:41
Speaker 3: going on. People need to shop these grocery stores and
• 30:44
Speaker 3: support his local businesses agreed. Texas just wanted to know
• 30:47
Speaker 3: if the governor legislator have any plans to use the
• 30:49
Speaker 3: people's billion dollar Randy Day Fund to help people during
• 30:51
Speaker 3: the government shutdown, people will lose their snap benefits. November
• 30:55
Speaker 3: the first, Well, the governor has allocated some money, but
• 30:57
Speaker 3: you just heard to deadly get Kaylee Young saying he
• 31:00
Speaker 3: should alligate allocate more. Now, Daddy Jones, how ain't doing buddy.
• 31:04
Speaker 7: I'm doing fine. How is this? How is this the
• 31:09
Speaker 7: Republican's fault? I mean, the Republicans are voting to open
• 31:14
Speaker 7: the government, right, and the Democrats are voting to shut
• 31:18
Speaker 7: it down pretty much. Yeah, and if he opened it
• 31:23
Speaker 7: back up, you get snapped. If he keeps clothes, you
• 31:28
Speaker 7: don't get snapped. All right. I just wanted to get it.
• 31:30
Speaker 3: Just make sure we got that straight. So let me
• 31:34
Speaker 3: let me ask you about the book. We couple of
• 31:35
  Speaker 3: weeks away now.
• 31:36
Speaker 7: From the book November seventeenth, Okay, yeah, it'll it'll be
• 31:41
Speaker 7: out and then on the twenty second of November, I'll
• 31:46
Speaker 7: have a book signing two o'clock in the afternoon on
• 31:50
Speaker 7: Taylor Books. Uh huh. Yeah.
• 31:52
Speaker 3: And it just blows my mind, mister Jones, that you
• 31:56
Speaker 3: are that you are fearful that people aren't going to
• 31:59
Speaker 3: buy this book? Are you kidding me?
• 32:00
  Speaker 2: Me.
• 32:01
Speaker 7: I was reading through it this morning. I was actually,
• 32:05
Speaker 7: I don't do that very often. I was reading through it,
• 32:08
Speaker 7: and I had criticism we spent too much time on
• 32:14
Speaker 7: the needles. Towards the end of the book. Who criticized it, Well,
• 32:20
Speaker 7: you know, Counselman Lane was the big backer of the needles.
• 32:25
Speaker 7: But jb Akers went over there and investigated and proved
• 32:30
Speaker 7: it was just a big fraud. There was no to
• 32:37
Speaker 7: find out if somebody is going to if you're doing
• 32:42
Speaker 7: anything preventive, you got to test them when they get there.
• 32:47
Speaker 7: That was absent nothing.
• 32:49
Speaker 3: I mean, that was one of the biggest things that
• 32:51
Speaker 3: I remember about your administration was that argument over the
• 32:55
Speaker 3: needle distribution in Charleston. So, I mean, I don't know
• 32:57
Speaker 3: how you could well.
• 32:58
Speaker 7: It almost ruined the city. And down at Health Right.
• 33:05
Speaker 7: Your treated is a patient and Health Right has a
• 33:09
Speaker 7: way of squeezing the money, you know, whether it's Medicaid
• 33:13
Speaker 7: or whatever it is. And a third of their patients
• 33:18
Speaker 7: that participate in their needle exchange go into recovery. Nobody there.
• 33:26
Speaker 7: There wasn't a record of any one person going into
• 33:29
Speaker 7: recovery there, nor was there any record of anybody getting
• 33:39
Speaker 7: You don't know if that you prevented AID or HIV
• 33:42
Speaker 7: or anything, because there was no there was no task
• 33:47
Speaker 7: given before or after. In other words, all they did
• 33:50
Speaker 7: was give away needles. But the council majority of council,
• 33:55
  Speaker 7: they loved it.
• 33:58
Speaker 3: So it's definitely looking forward to that now. Last week
• 34:01
Speaker 3: on the show, I had there's another gentleman who is
• 34:05
Speaker 3: writing a book bill, Pacozy, very well known promoter, and
• 34:10
Speaker 3: I joked, I said, well, we got two iconic Charleston
• 34:14
Speaker 3: figures that have books out at the same time. Bill's
• 34:16
Speaker 3: was already out, I think because he was at the
• 34:18
Speaker 3: book festival of this this weekend. So well, there's a
• 34:22
Speaker 3: I mean, I think it's two interesting reads by two
• 34:25
Speaker 3: by to Charleston icons.
• 34:28
Speaker 7: Yeah, I was listeninging. He doesn't care for me, you
• 34:32
Speaker 7: said that. I think that I don't really know him.
• 34:37
Speaker 7: He was upset that I became mayor. Hiss the worst
• 34:42
Speaker 7: didn't come in and he used to have the barbecue
• 34:46
Speaker 7: thing down here, ripped on the boulevard, and then it
• 34:51
Speaker 7: does and then he he didn't have a quit having
• 34:55
Speaker 7: it and he left because I was the mayor. That's
• 34:58
Speaker 7: what he said news. I read the newspaper. So he
• 35:03
Speaker 7: moved from town to town, and then he came back
• 35:07
Speaker 7: and I got a call from the liquor commission. They
• 35:11
Speaker 7: said he wants a beer license and the city has
• 35:15
Speaker 7: to give permission. I said, fine, give him a beer license.
• 35:18
Speaker 7: I don't know him. I mean, when you, when you
• 35:25
Speaker 7: are elected official, when you occupy public space, people don't
• 35:32
  Speaker 7: like you.
• 35:34
Speaker 3: Some people, especially when you're the mayor of the largest
• 35:37
Speaker 3: city in West Virginia, the capital city, and no matter.
• 35:40
Speaker 7: Who the mayor is, and they don't they don't like it.
• 35:44
  Speaker 7: And I don't.
• 35:46
Speaker 3: Really care, especially now, you don't care. No, you didn't
• 35:50
  Speaker 3: care then.
• 35:51
Speaker 7: No, I didn't. I didn't even know he was still around.
• 35:54
  Speaker 7: But like I say, I don't know him. I knew
• 35:56
Speaker 7: his sister, Connie. She was a dance teacher.
• 35:59
Speaker 3: Okay, all right, tex says I'm an independent voter and
• 36:03
Speaker 3: I want to hear from my constituents. I think the
• 36:06
Speaker 3: Republicans have been a huge disappointment to our state. No job,
• 36:10
Speaker 3: still losing population, things getting worse. I think it depends
• 36:12
Speaker 3: on I'll let you weigh in on that, but I
• 36:15
Speaker 3: think it depends on where you live as to whether
• 36:17
Speaker 3: there are no jobs and whether there's people moving in
• 36:20
Speaker 3: because in the Eastern Panhandle it's exploding. Morgantown area's exploding.
• 36:23
Speaker 3: Or I live in Taye Valley, it's about ready to
• 36:26
Speaker 3: burst wide open again.
• 36:27
Speaker 7: Yeah, but it's not here.
• 36:28
Speaker 3: No, it's not everywhere.
• 36:30
Speaker 7: I'll tell you. I'll tell you, I'll tell you South Charleston.
• 36:33
Speaker 7: You know, they seem to be doing pretty well, but
• 36:38
Speaker 7: the population of the state's going down. McDowell County when
• 36:45
Speaker 7: I was born, had one hundred thousand people. One hundred thousand.
• 36:51
Speaker 7: Now they're around nine.
• 36:52
Speaker 3: If even that, and it's going down. It's going down.
• 36:54
Speaker 7: I mean, I mean they couldn't even handle at Walmart.
• 36:57
Speaker 3: Yeah, the Walmart closed. I mean when that same me
• 37:00
Speaker 3: heard of a Walmart club. But a lot of that
• 37:01
Speaker 3: was because of employee theft. That was one of the
• 37:03
Speaker 3: reasons why. But I've said this about Mingo County. Uh
• 37:07
Speaker 3: back back when I was in school and growing up,
• 37:10
Speaker 3: Williamson was one of our big rivals, being a Logan Wildcat.
• 37:15
Speaker 3: Williamson High School in Mingo County went from Triple A
• 37:18
Speaker 3: to Triple A to double A to single A to
• 37:22
Speaker 3: gone in ten years. They can they consolidated all these
• 37:27
Speaker 3: little high schools in Mingo County that they weren't always
• 37:30
Speaker 3: little places like Lenore's Mingo Central, Mingo Central. And there's
• 37:34
Speaker 3: only uh, there's only two high schools in the entire
• 37:37
Speaker 3: county now, where at one time there was six seven
• 37:39
Speaker 3: now there's two. Where where was war war was in
• 37:43
Speaker 3: McDowell County. Okay, Yeah, but I mean all those little
• 37:47
Speaker 3: towns had their high schools and so on and so forth,
• 37:49
Speaker 3: and they just they just don't now. I mean it's sad.
• 37:53
Speaker 7: Last week we talked about the No King's rally yep,
• 37:58
Speaker 7: And I've been thinking about this and thinking about and
• 38:04
Speaker 7: I think it was a little bit of a cop
• 38:06
Speaker 7: out for me to have said it just I hate
• 38:10
Speaker 7: Trump rally. I think the bigger picture here is, and
• 38:16
Speaker 7: it goes with the MAGA crowd too, is that people
• 38:20
Speaker 7: are seeking community. They're seeking community. Expound upon that, well,
• 38:26
Speaker 7: they're seeking something to belong to and that gives them.
• 38:32
Speaker 7: I mean, the people that were in that, in that
• 38:35
Speaker 7: involved in that were all in a good mood. They
• 38:39
Speaker 7: were all having fun. And unless I'm wrong.
• 38:43
Speaker 3: And zero issues too, I mean, yeah, we're especially not
• 38:47
Speaker 3: here in Charleston, I mean, or anywhere in West Virginia.
• 38:50
Speaker 3: There were no issues there was no I mean, let's
• 38:53
Speaker 3: face it, Danny wasn't January sixth, right.
• 38:57
Speaker 7: I don't understand, and you know, it's no skin off
• 39:02
Speaker 7: my nose. Why President Trump is obsessed with going to
• 39:06
  Speaker 7: these big cities, I just don't. That's their problem. It's
• 39:12
Speaker 7: their problem. It's not a federal problem.
• 39:15
  Speaker 5: Now.
• 39:15
Speaker 7: If he's going to guard federal courthouses or federal property,
• 39:23
Speaker 7: that's totally different. And that's what happened in Portland, not
• 39:27
Speaker 7: this time, but before he left office last time. They
• 39:32
Speaker 7: were burning federal property. But if you want to if
• 39:40
Speaker 7: you want to know about January sixth, read list Tenny's book.
• 39:45
Speaker 7: I mean, now, I listened to it, and it is juicy.
• 39:49
Speaker 7: It tells you what happened, blow by blow by blow.
• 39:53
Speaker 7: I mean, this moved this way. And Mark Wayne Mullins,
• 39:58
Speaker 7: who's now senator, you know the guy was he said,
• 40:02
Speaker 7: you all go through that door right there, and Liz,
• 40:05
Speaker 7: Liz changing those women looked at him and said, got it.
• 40:08
Speaker 7: You know it was And she got into it with
• 40:12
Speaker 7: Tom Delay on the floor and says, U f and
• 40:16
Speaker 7: caused this. And you know everybody's sewed around F bombs.
• 40:20
Speaker 7: And you know, Nancy Mace, you know, she's running for
• 40:25
Speaker 7: governor down there in South Carolina, and she's was the
• 40:29
Speaker 7: first female to graduate from the Citadel. And she was
• 40:38
Speaker 7: on Bill maher a week or so ago and she
• 40:47
Speaker 7: she uh dropped an F bomb.
• 40:51
Speaker 3: What's cable television? You can do that on cable telling.
• 40:53
Speaker 7: I'm not I'm not quarrel with that. But she's running
• 40:58
Speaker 7: for governor. Were the most religious state in the counting point.
• 41:02
  Speaker 7: That's a very good point. I mean, if I was
• 41:04
Speaker 7: her opponent, I said, what I mean doesn't offend me.
• 41:09
Speaker 7: I've tried to get away from using that kind of language.
• 41:13
Speaker 7: I am, I really am. I really working hard to
• 41:16
Speaker 7: try to do that.
• 41:17
Speaker 3: But me too, but it didn't always work. Let me
• 41:20
Speaker 3: knock out. Let me knock out a couple of sects here.
• 41:22
Speaker 3: When's the last time Riley Moore has been in DC
• 41:25
Speaker 3: to work. It's been over a month. This has to stop. Now.
• 41:29
Speaker 3: You wanna take a little Danny Jones' criticism here. Sure,
• 41:33
Speaker 3: Danny allowed needles and it backfired on him, and he
• 41:35
Speaker 3: started the blame game. You were mayor, it's on you,
• 41:37
Speaker 3: and don't blame others. Just like them all.
• 41:44
  Speaker 7: Okay, there's there's a little bit of truth there. I
• 41:49
Speaker 7: voted for it. I thought they were going to do
• 41:51
Speaker 7: one hundred a week. They were doing twelve thousand every Wednesday,
• 41:56
Speaker 7: and when we tried to stop it, the majority of
• 42:02
Speaker 7: council went against us. But then we did an undercover
• 42:11
Speaker 7: sting operation on them to prove they weren't following the procedures.
• 42:16
Speaker 7: So Steve Cooper shut it down or told them they
• 42:20
Speaker 7: had to shut it down, and they shut it down
• 42:23
  Speaker 7: on their own.
• 42:25
Speaker 3: Texays touted all these town halls, by the way, gops
• 42:28
Speaker 3: held a lot more over time. So how about you
• 42:31
Speaker 3: and all other state Democrat contact Schumer and Jeffrey's office
• 42:35
Speaker 3: to demand they joined Fetterman and Warno to pass the
• 42:38
Speaker 3: CR And what do any of you say in response
• 42:41
Speaker 3: to all those videos posted by people saying they will
• 42:43
Speaker 3: steal cartloads of food if they don't get their food stamps.
• 42:46
Speaker 3: Not one word of condemnation from Democrats. I think that
• 42:49
Speaker 3: was probably aimed it to a delegate Kayale Young, texays,
• 42:52
Speaker 3: it's not the Republicans. This is all on the Democrats,
• 42:55
Speaker 3: and you know it.
• 42:58
Speaker 7: I think right now it is because the Democrats could
• 43:02
Speaker 7: It would seem to me like the leadership should say okay,
• 43:06
  Speaker 7: that's what we'll do. You pass a c R and
• 43:10
Speaker 7: well and are in some good faith negotiations about medicaid?
• 43:13
Speaker 7: Is that what the problem is? You know?
• 43:16
Speaker 3: Well? And it all goes back to you know a
• 43:18
Speaker 3: lot of the I mean, and I'm not trying to
• 43:21
Speaker 3: sound like TJ. Meadows here, and then we got to
• 43:22
Speaker 3: do the break one way or the other, Danny, this
• 43:25
Speaker 3: country is broke. It is broke, and it's getting broker,
• 43:29
Speaker 3: you know, for lack of a better term. And the
• 43:31
Speaker 3: only difference between the Republicans and the Democrats right now
• 43:34
Speaker 3: is the amount that the Republicans want to add less
• 43:38
Speaker 3: a few less trillion dollars than what Democrats do. That's
• 43:41
Speaker 3: the only difference. Both sides don't seem to get it.
• 43:45
Speaker 7: Do you know who you sound like? Is that Stephen A.
• 43:50
Speaker 3: I'm a fan of Steven except he hates the Dallas
• 43:53
Speaker 3: Cowboys and so other than that, he's okay, Well, we
• 43:57

Speaker 3: Texas Hello and good morning. Will the book be available
• 47:15
  Speaker 3: on audible?
• 47:18
Speaker 7: You know, I thought about that because I do audible.
• 47:21
Speaker 7: I buy all my books on audible. But I'd have
• 47:25
Speaker 7: to have so many different voices on there. Couldn't It
• 47:28
Speaker 7: could be me, and it could be Charlie. And I'm
• 47:32
  Speaker 7: sure I could get JB. He's in it. I don't
• 47:37
Speaker 7: know if I could get Otis has got a big
• 47:39
Speaker 7: chapter in there. Otis Lowry. There's a guy that I
• 47:47
Speaker 7: grew up with that if it hadn't been for him,
• 47:50
Speaker 7: he's still around her. He retired from DuPont. His name
• 47:56
Speaker 7: Richard Butler, and if it hadn't been for him, I'd
• 48:01
Speaker 7: be changing bedpans in the hospital somewhere.
• 48:05
Speaker 6: What did he do?
• 48:07
Speaker 7: We were at the Hub, there's a poor whom I
• 48:09
Speaker 7: hung out at, and a guy came in there and
• 48:13
Speaker 7: offered a job to work the Roaring Twenties, which was
• 48:19
Speaker 7: the best nightclub in the city. And he said ten
• 48:26
Speaker 7: dollars a night to wash glasses. Richard took it. None
• 48:29
Speaker 7: of us said any money. We didn't have jobs. And
• 48:32
Speaker 7: then George Jarrett, who I named my son afternoon he
• 48:35
Speaker 7: went up. Richard then became a bartender, and then George
• 48:39
Speaker 7: went up and started watching glasses. Well, I couldn't I
• 48:42
Speaker 7: looked fourteen years old. I couldn't get a job. So
• 48:45
Speaker 7: I went back to the Sterling and stayed there until
• 48:50
Speaker 7: I went until I got out of high school. And
• 48:52
Speaker 7: also later on I started working on cars, and when
• 48:58
Speaker 7: I was drafted, I was, you know, working on cars.
• 49:02
  Speaker 7: I built a race car.
• 49:03
  Speaker 9: And but.
• 49:07
Speaker 7: I didn't Richard. You know, I followed Richard. Whatever he did,
• 49:12
Speaker 7: I did. I mean, he was the leader of George
• 49:17
Speaker 7: and me and he we have those moments, that titular
• 49:26
Speaker 7: moments in our lives, and that was one for me,
• 49:30
Speaker 7: and it was at the Hub Poor Room, and I
• 49:33
  Speaker 7: don't know what I'd be doing if I hadn't been
• 49:34
Speaker 7: for that. That's when I became indelibly part of the
• 49:39
Speaker 7: streets of the city. I mean that's when I would
• 49:44
Speaker 7: we get off work. I'd get off work at six
• 49:46
  Speaker 7: o'clock in the morning. I didn't have a car, so
• 49:48
Speaker 7: I walked home. Richard and George would walk across the
• 49:53
Speaker 7: bridge and thumb out Ferry Branch Road on the ramp,
• 49:57
Speaker 7: and I thumb up Louden Heights. And there's a chapter
• 50:05
Speaker 7: in there about him, but he's not gonna he's not
• 50:09
Speaker 7: gonna participate in and I think in an audible audible thing.
• 50:15
Speaker 7: I mean I thought about it. It's fun.
• 50:16
Speaker 3: Could you get other people to play if you didn't,
• 50:19
Speaker 3: I mean get other people that I mean, don't use
• 50:22
Speaker 3: any of the real people, just you know the part
• 50:24
  Speaker 3: of odes.
• 50:26
Speaker 7: I'd use it as men as I could, Okay, I
• 50:28
Speaker 7: mean I have no use for Tom Lane, but I
• 50:30
Speaker 7: put it. I'd put him on there, and put JB
• 50:34
Speaker 7: on there. If in Rod Blackstone and Mary Jean Davis
• 50:40
  Speaker 7: if you wanted.
• 50:41
  Speaker 4: It to be.
• 50:41
Speaker 7: I'm not sure she has a chapter in there or not.
• 50:44
Speaker 3: Tex says regarding the shutdown of DC, the Dems are
• 50:47
Speaker 3: more than willing to talk to this impast Trump only
• 50:50

• 50:52

• 50:54
Speaker 3: Congress is now as worthless as the White House.
• 50:57

Speaker 3: tax cuts favoring the wealthy, one with giving away money
• 51:31
Speaker 3: to middle to the port. Neither will succeed. Texays, Danny's
• 51:35
Speaker 3: a good guy. I appreciate his perspective and he always
