- 0:19and Scott Moskowitz. Hey, howdy. Welcome back
- 0:27to No ID, North Idaho's mainstream deconstruction.
- 0:32I'm Scott. And I'm Paul. Hello, internet. How
- 0:37are you today? Well, I feel pretty good, given
- 0:39that I didn't have to go to the State of the
- 0:43State of the State issued by Governor Little
- 0:45yesterday, because I think they shoot the first
- 0:49person to stop applauding, right? It reminded
- 0:51me of the old joke of, you know, Stalin is giving
- 0:55the State of the State and somebody sneezes.
- 0:59And Stalin says, who sneezed? And nobody, everyone's
- 1:02terrified. Nobody says anything. So Stalin says,
- 1:05OK, everybody in the first row, stand up. They
- 1:06all stand up and they all get machine gunned
- 1:09to death. And then Stalin says, OK, now who sneezed?
- 1:13And now everyone is really terrified. Nobody
- 1:14says anything. And so he says, OK, everyone in
- 1:17the second row stand up. They all stand up. They
- 1:19all get machine gunned to death. And then he
- 1:21says, OK, one more time, who sneezed? And finally,
- 1:24someone trembling hand gets raised in the back.
- 1:27It was me. And Stalin says, bless you. Now to
- 1:35go over the budget with Joseph Stalin and Brad
- 1:38Little. Turns out, there's not enough money.
- 1:45Who could have seen this coming, Scott? Who could
- 1:48have seen this coming? Well, I can answer your
- 1:52question right off the bat. Moyle's take on Governor
- 1:55Little's tax cuts contrasts starkly with Democratic
- 1:58Representative Ilana Rubel. I spoke with her
- 2:00and she considers her party a modern day Cassandra
- 2:04from Greek mythology who could see the future
- 2:07and warn the people, but no one would listen.
- 2:10So the answer is the Democrats. We have been
- 2:13predicting that this would happen and saying,
- 2:15stop, don't do it. We can't afford all these
- 2:17cuts. And they didn't listen to us. And here
- 2:19we are in a real pickle. The pickle, according
- 2:22to Rubel, is a giant fiscal hole. We are now
- 2:25about $555 million short of even being able to
- 2:29fund the most bare bones budget to keep our agencies
- 2:32operating. JFAC, the bipartisan group that sets
- 2:36the state budget, says those numbers are a likely
- 2:38scenario if state revenue doesn't rebound. Rubel
- 2:41says the short was easy to see, pointing to Kansas,
- 2:44which experienced the same thing in 2017. After
- 2:48years of tax cuts, they were forced to make deep
- 2:50cuts to education and infrastructure, and their
- 2:52economy tanked. Their schools were ruled by their
- 2:55Supreme Court to be unconstitutional because
- 2:57the cuts were so deep. And they ended up repealing
- 3:00those tax cuts and electing a Democrat governor
- 3:02in Kansas, one of the reddest states in the nation.
- 3:06Rubel says not even the 1 .4 billion. They're
- 3:08feeling pretty smug right now, aren't they? Oh,
- 3:09she they love it. But just hey, let's you want
- 3:13to have some fun with numbers real quick. Five
- 3:16hundred fifty million into 14 billion, which
- 3:20is the total state budget, is a little under
- 3:24four percent. Yeah. Yeah. So it's still a big
- 3:28number. I mean, as a percentage, it's a small
- 3:29number, but it's still a big number. But I guess
- 3:31I got to say this right now. I. I feel like I
- 3:34just like I got played. I'm a fool, Scott. You
- 3:36know why I'm a fool? Because for the briefest,
- 3:38briefest, briefest of moments, I can't even believe
- 3:41I thought this. I thought the Democrats, the
- 3:44Idaho Democrats, who were like, you know, we
- 3:46saw this coming a mile away. I don't even know
- 3:49why I thought this. We're going to talk about
- 3:51how we couldn't afford all the stuff we were
- 3:54doing. No, that's dumb. I'm dumb. Of course,
- 3:57their answer to it was, well, we haven't taxed
- 3:59people enough. It's tax cuts that are the problem.
- 4:02That's the Democrats platform. They're wagging
- 4:04their finger at us because we haven't taxed ourselves
- 4:08into prosperity enough. Couldn't possibly be
- 4:11that the state of Idaho does too much shit and
- 4:13has too many things going on and does way more
- 4:16than the government's supposed to do already
- 4:17by a long, long, long shot. No, it can't be that.
- 4:19It's that we have not stolen enough money from
- 4:22ourselves to pay for all the shit they want to
- 4:24do. You're telling me that you seriously, for
- 4:28a fleeting moment, thought that the Democrat
- 4:30lady was going to talk about spending? I did,
- 4:34actually. I did. I really did. I know. That's
- 4:37why I'm feeling great for this. For a brief list
- 4:39of moments. Yeah, I deserve that. If you spend
- 4:43too much, the answer isn't to steal more money
- 4:47from people. The answer is to cut back. The answer
- 4:49is to stop spending. The answer is to do less.
- 4:52That is the answer. That's the default mode for
- 4:56people who are moral, ethical, and want to make
- 4:58sense. But I should know better. Womp womp. The
- 5:02$1 .4 billion rainy day fund can dig the state
- 5:04out. As the legislative session draws near, she
- 5:07says the Democrats want to see school vouchers
- 5:10go away. I would love to see us repeal vouchers.
- 5:13Of course they do. That is not a program that
- 5:14is helping anybody that needs it, frankly. Bullshit.
- 5:18Okay, wait. You know what? That's bullshit. And
- 5:21on the fly, ask Paul. I wasn't planning on this,
- 5:23but it's a good spot. She said it's not helping
- 5:26the people who need it. She's about to tell you
- 5:28who it does help. Who do you think she's going
- 5:30to tell you that it does help? Here, I'm going
- 5:32to play it one more time. That is not a program
- 5:34that is helping anybody that needs it. Frankly,
- 5:37the money is going... Going where? What do you
- 5:39think she's going to say? Going to private schools,
- 5:42which of course they hate. That's the thing.
- 5:45That's their biggest complaint is it's going
- 5:47to the private sector or to private schools or
- 5:49to parents who want their kids out of the system.
- 5:51But the villain is going to be private schools.
- 5:54You're not nearly... And corporations. Not nearly
- 5:57communistic enough. Think more like Bernie Sanders.
- 6:02Rich people. The money's going to rich people.
- 6:04The money is going to millionaires, largely.
- 6:06Also, she says Democrats are fighting. Oh, yeah.
- 6:10Yeah. Yeah. No, it's those. It's all of the millionaires
- 6:12that exist in Idaho who are making use of those
- 6:15vouchers. Yep. No, this clown world. You know
- 6:18what? I can't wait. That's twice already. Twice
- 6:20in what? Ten, five minutes. I've already been
- 6:23bamboozled. This is going to be a great. podcast.
- 6:26I need to I actually don't know what we should
- 6:29look up what her net worth is, but she'll probably
- 6:31pull a Bernie and when she becomes a millionaire,
- 6:34so she'll switch her rhetoric to billionaires.
- 6:37Believe that money is going to millionaires largely.
- 6:39Also, she says Democrats are fighting to keep
- 6:41Medicaid expansion the voter backed initiative.
- 6:44The thing that is causing the biggest part of
- 6:49the budget deficit that Speaking of crystal balls,
- 6:52and we've talked about this already on a couple
- 6:53of podcasts, there was a small group of us who
- 6:56very loudly said Medicaid expansion is absolutely
- 7:00the wrong way to go. Every state where this has
- 7:02happened ends up having budget issues less than
- 7:05five years later down the road, and they're massive
- 7:07budget issues. And the moment the federal funds
- 7:10either stop, dry up, get more strings attached,
- 7:14get smaller, any or all of that, the state is
- 7:17left holding the bag. And it will be a problem,
- 7:20as it has been in every other state that has
- 7:22expanded Medicaid. And wouldn't you know it,
- 7:24Scott? Here we are. But of course, we can't cut
- 7:27it. No, no. No, what we're going to do is take
- 7:30away school choice that just is getting off the
- 7:33ground. And we're going to tax ourselves harder.
- 7:39I know we're sort of like a broken record with
- 7:40some of this stuff, but so is the mainstream
- 7:43narrative. We have to keep responding to it because
- 7:45they keep hammering home the same talking points.
- 7:48Democrats are fighting to keep Medicaid expansion.
- 7:51The voter -backed initiative passed in 2018.
- 7:53And now, House Speaker Mike Moyle says Republicans
- 7:56will consider repealing it. That is not what
- 7:58voters want. We know it passed with 61 % of the
- 8:01vote. I love, you know, what's so amazing too.
- 8:03Listen to her one more time. That is not what
- 8:06voters want. We know it. Don't you love it when
- 8:08they bust out the what voters want thing? Like
- 8:10they give a flying F what the voters want, you
- 8:13know, when they're like they bring a levy forward
- 8:15and it fails and then they just put it on the
- 8:17ballot again. and it fails and again and it fails
- 8:19and again and it fails. Oh, and then on the sixth
- 8:21time the voters vote correctly or they vote your
- 8:23dad in, whoops, to the board of trustees. Well,
- 8:27that was wrong. So in order to subvert the will
- 8:29of the voters, we'll just start pulling all sorts
- 8:31of maneuvers with the state to try to get our
- 8:33way. They couldn't possibly care less what the
- 8:36voters want unless we vote correctly. Correct.
- 8:40That is not what voters want. We know it passed
- 8:42it with 61 % of the vote and I think support
- 8:45is now more than 80 % range. That would do serious
- 8:48damage to the state and its residents if they
- 8:50repeal that. Rubel says more funding shortfalls
- 8:53are likely this year and it may take a while
- 8:55for all Idahoans to feel them, but some already
- 8:59have. For many folks in Idaho, the chickens have
- 9:01already come home to Bruce. That's what the Democrats
- 9:04have to say. I have nothing nice to say, so.
- 9:13Don't say anything at all. Waiting for the other
- 9:14shoe to drop here. No, your mom taught you well.
- 9:17Are you going to? Oh, man. So what do the Republicans
- 9:22have to say, Scott? Well, let's go to I mean,
- 9:29to the extent that he's a Republican, we can
- 9:31do some of the state of the state, some of the
- 9:34clips from Brad Little's half an hour speech.
- 9:36And so I pulled some some key excerpts. Governor
- 9:40Brad Little kicks off the legislative session
- 9:43for 2026. At this moment, he's about to share
- 9:46his plan for the year and his state of the state
- 9:48address. Mr. Speaker, honored legislators, my
- 9:53fellow constitutional officers. Did you catch
- 9:55that? That was fun. Constitutional officers.
- 9:59He's got like the fast food worker teenager.
- 10:03pizza face kid from the simpsons that was like
- 10:05a really comical voice crack fellow constitutional
- 10:08officers he tripped up on the word constitution
- 10:11because he hates it constitutional officers welcome
- 10:14to idaho what can i get you as threeson i began
- 10:18the final year my second term as idaho's 33rd
- 10:23lieutenant governor we are deeply humbled to
- 10:26serve the people of the great state these past
- 10:29seven years have only reinforced what we've long
- 10:32known Idaho and her people are grounded in enduring
- 10:37values. We are independent and innovative. We
- 10:41act with integrity. We approach our lives and
- 10:45our work with unwavering grit. It takes a lot
- 10:49of grit to keep approaching your work when Brad
- 10:52Little State is trying to shut down your work.
- 10:54Idaho is evolving. It does take a lot of grit.
- 10:57However, through the change, we must commit ourselves
- 11:00to pervert... Oh, did you hear that? The truth
- 11:05wants to come out. To preserve. Whoops. To preserving
- 11:11our state as the place where opportunity thrives.
- 11:16Uh -huh. To pervert. Well, you know, he miss
- 11:23spoke, Scott, give him a break. OK. Ask any law
- 11:27enforcement officer on the ground and they'll
- 11:29tell you under the last administration. Immigration
- 11:33enforcement wasn't just slowed down. It was put
- 11:37on ice. Put on ice. I knew you'd get it. Oh,
- 11:44my gosh. He made it funny. Laugh, everyone. Laugh.
- 11:48Everyone in the first row stand up. Take that,
- 11:50Brown people. Yeah, everyone in the first row
- 11:53stand up. My God, this is so... I knew it would
- 11:55be cringe, which is why I missed out on it. I'm
- 11:58so glad I missed out on it. I wouldn't exactly
- 12:01say I'm missing it, Bob. We're also partnering
- 12:03with the Trump team to deliver results in energy
- 12:06dominance. I'm pretty sure that means Jerry Kushner
- 12:12and the rest of the Jewish cabal that runs, oh,
- 12:14and Israel. Are we going to contract out for
- 12:20Jewish nuclear power plants somewhere in South
- 12:23Idaho? Well, according to all these public figures,
- 12:26it's nuclear. So you ought to take some elocution
- 12:29lessons. The Idaho National Laboratory in Idaho
- 12:31Falls has been at the forefront. of nuclear energy
- 12:35research for decades. Nuclear! And today, under
- 12:38President Trump, America is experiencing a nuclear
- 12:42energy resurgence. He did it again. What is that?
- 12:46It just hurts. So many public figures do that.
- 12:49I wonder if they also will say the word, like,
- 12:53Newton. Mountains. Like, how many Newtons of
- 12:59energy do you get from those power, from those
- 13:02nuclear power plants? We so enjoy working with
- 13:06the rump team We're also partnering with President
- 13:10Trump to deliver results for Idahoans by championing
- 13:14common -sense values Like education freedom and
- 13:17standing up for women's sports in fact, okay
- 13:21pause So I'm already curious. Is this setting
- 13:24up a clash because we just listened to the Democrats
- 13:26Immediately zeroing in on education choice. They
- 13:29hate the vouchers. Of course. They hate the vouchers
- 13:31a lot of Republicans do too And Brad little just
- 13:35brought it up in his state of the state as something
- 13:38that he wants to continue to push forward his
- 13:41education choice. So what's that going to look
- 13:45like? Are we going to have one of the pushes
- 13:47that's going to happen this legislative session?
- 13:49Sorry about my computer doing that. Sorry, dead
- 13:55space. You're going to edit this, but I'm going
- 13:56to get out of my email. Now we're leaving it
- 13:59in. No, I'm over three. It's only been 15 minutes.
- 14:04I'm over three. I'm actually really curious how
- 14:08that's going to look. You have Democrats who
- 14:10absolutely want to go after education choice
- 14:12that just got going in Idaho, and it's going
- 14:15to be a battle. Meanwhile, Brad Little brings
- 14:17it up in a state of the state. You have a lot
- 14:18of Republicans who are on the fence about it
- 14:20and don't know much about it. I'm very curious.
- 14:23It affects us. It directly affects us. We homeschool,
- 14:26but we also utilize some state of Idaho satellite
- 14:30learning programs, whereby they're a small, very,
- 14:34very small. reimbursement for some curriculum
- 14:37expenditures that we make. But they have to be
- 14:40in line with the program that we work with, which
- 14:44is Home Ed 360. And it's under the Braintree
- 14:46umbrella. Braintree being kind of the bigger
- 14:51organization, if you will. And technically, it
- 14:56is tied in with the state of Idaho. So technically,
- 14:59it's considered state -run education. But it
- 15:02allows for a lot of freedom of curriculum choice.
- 15:05There are guidelines, of course. There are goalposts
- 15:07you got to meet. And the trade -off is you do
- 15:09get a little bit of, I mean, it's small. We're
- 15:11talking less than a couple grand a year, but
- 15:13hey, every bit helps. When we spend on education,
- 15:17we get reimbursed. They're going after those
- 15:20programs this year. We know they are in their
- 15:22pursuit of going after the vouchers as well.
- 15:24It's going to be sort of a scorched earth tactic.
- 15:27So I'm curious to see. Brad Little talks about
- 15:30it. What's he actually going to do? In fact,
- 15:34tomorrow, Idaho goes before the U .S. Supreme
- 15:38Court to defend our first -in -the -nation law
- 15:40to protect women's sports. Idaho will continue
- 15:44to lead the rest of the country, and the rest
- 15:47of the country will continue to follow because
- 15:49common sense still matters. There's that word
- 15:52again. Common sense? Common sense. Through my
- 15:57executive order, the Idaho Act, and our work
- 15:59with the legislature, we're driving changes that
- 16:03improve performance. That's because that's what
- 16:06Idahoans expect. I want to thank you, the members
- 16:10of the Idaho Legislature, for sharing my zeal
- 16:12for cutting red tape. You codified a practice
- 16:17I established through Executive Order 2020, zero
- 16:21-based regulation, forcing a routine review of
- 16:24rule chapters annually. What was the outcome?
- 16:28Savings of more than $1 million and a state government
- 16:32that is more transparent. easier to navigate,
- 16:35and less burdensome for citizens of businesses.
- 16:39Small business owners don't need a lawyer to
- 16:42read the law. And let's be honest. Fewer lawyers
- 16:46in the mix never hurt anybody. Fewer lawyers
- 16:57in the mix never hurt anybody. Except maybe lawyers.
- 17:04He first he listened I'm gonna try and let me
- 17:06boost this because he apologizes here effects
- 17:11volume and compression amplify He turns around
- 17:15and sort of apologizes to the guys behind him
- 17:19who's probably an attorney Sorry, that's true.
- 17:25The guys like well, it's true It's true good
- 17:30times that is good times. I mean This is gonna
- 17:34be one of those moments where it's the thought
- 17:37that counts back to your Back to our discussion
- 17:42about that phrase from the last podcast. This
- 17:45all sounds great. It sounds great It always sounds
- 17:48great. It's gonna be shit we're gonna look at
- 17:51this three or four months later and go what did
- 17:53they actually do and especially because it is
- 17:56a The election season begins right after this
- 17:59legislative session ends because in Idaho both
- 18:01the state Senate and the state house campaign
- 18:03every two years. So this legislative session
- 18:08is gonna be pretty limpy and We'll see what actually
- 18:12gets done. Most of it won't be impressive Also
- 18:15when he when Brad little brags about saving a
- 18:18million bucks a million bucks is you know, that's
- 18:21a number It's a million bucks. That's cool, but
- 18:23it's also a rounding error in a budget of 14
- 18:26billion What percentage of 14 billion is 1 million?
- 18:330 .007. And for that, he is congratulating himself
- 18:36in his legislature. And that's pretty awesome.
- 18:39It'd be like you and I doing our annual finances
- 18:43and cutting out one cup of coffee. Be like, there,
- 18:48my work here is done. I would like to thank my
- 18:51wife. Let's go celebrate with a steak dinner.
- 18:54I would like to thank my kids. And yes, to Ruth's
- 18:57Chris, everyone get in the Uber. Excuse me, limo.
- 19:01A balanced budget isn't just required by the
- 19:03Idaho Constitution. It's the right thing to do.
- 19:08Today, I'm delivering my recommendations for
- 19:11fiscal years 26 and 27. Six, seven. What the
- 19:24hell? Oh, and they're clapping for it. Is that
- 19:28what I think it was, Scott? Was that kids in
- 19:34the audience doing a lot better? I thought it
- 19:36was. Yes. Six, seven thing. Correct. Yep. They
- 19:39cut to them a few times as a bunch of kids in
- 19:40like the upper balcony. Surprisingly, they hadn't
- 19:43masked them up, which I'm kind of confused about
- 19:46that given that they're little disease vectors,
- 19:48you know. But yeah, they were up in the kids
- 19:50are basically walking petri dishes. Yeah, of
- 19:54course. So but there they were bare faced, grandma
- 19:56killing little shits, you know. And but anyway,
- 20:01he made this do you even know dear kids? Probably
- 20:03not do that stupid whatever that six seven thing
- 20:06is the nonsense No, and dude. No, here's the
- 20:10deal. I believe you get your ass kicked saying
- 20:12so much that man That's how we view that so he's
- 20:16fun and cringy when you know Boomers try to like
- 20:20let the kids know that they they know their jargon
- 20:23game or whatever like hey, you know We're up
- 20:25on your lingo kids. Look at me. I'm relevant
- 20:30That went over a lot better than I thought it
- 20:32would. Oh, thank God. Hello. Okay. Got a couple
- 20:37more. I'm so glad you did the work for me on
- 20:40this one, Scott. Thank you. I just want to say
- 20:41right now, thank you for muckraking this particular
- 20:46speech, because this is exactly what I knew it
- 20:49would be. And I'm so glad I get to just enjoy
- 20:51the cringy sound bites and not have had to muckrake
- 20:54the 30 minutes. So bless you. Bless you, Scott.
- 20:57This is value for value. So I'm thinking that
- 20:59Paul is about to make a donation to his own show.
- 21:02I might. I just might. Idaho won't raise taxes
- 21:05to balance the state budget. Well, talk to the
- 21:08Democrats about that. Also, we let's not forget
- 21:11that Idahoans are already paying like 30 something
- 21:16percent of their income toward taxes. I know
- 21:19it's not just from the state, but let's not pretend
- 21:22like your citizens aren't already working. from
- 21:26New Year's through freaking Memorial Day paying
- 21:28taxes. Last year, our revenue forecast decreased
- 21:32by 14 % in a few months. That change was driven
- 21:37by several factors. A different approach in the
- 21:41legislature to revenue forecasting. Historic
- 21:43tax cuts, softer sales tax collections, as consumer
- 21:48spending adjusted. and ongoing uncertainty around
- 21:51interest rates. Meaning as people had less money
- 21:54to spend and inflation stole their purchasing
- 21:56power. Because of you people and your phony baloney
- 22:02money printing that you do all the time, but
- 22:05that you ramped up absurdly. in 2020 and 2021,
- 22:09and you devalued the currency by like half with
- 22:12your freaking ridiculous totalitarianism. It's
- 22:15you people that did it in the first place. Ongoing
- 22:17uncertainty around interest rates in the national
- 22:20economy. But we were clear on one thing. K -12
- 22:24schools are not subject to cuts. Oh, no, because
- 22:29we will never touch that sacred cow. We cannot
- 22:32ever touch that sacred cow. whereby enrollment
- 22:36continues to decline, but we will continue to
- 22:40spend more on it as administration continues
- 22:42to balloon. In no universe will we stop our heavy
- 22:48acceleration toward administrative bureaucracy
- 22:51in the public schools. I'm Brad Little. I've
- 22:53said it before and I'll say it again. If you're
- 22:56going to bet on any state, bet on Idaho. Except
- 22:59don't actually because gambling is illegal unless
- 23:02it's a state lottery. Thank you. Or the tribe.
- 23:06Yes, I'm sorry. Excuse me. How ridiculous. Yes,
- 23:09the tribe. In which case, our CityLink County
- 23:11bus service will bust your ass directly to their
- 23:14casino. Well, I don't know if you heard, Paul,
- 23:17but they're doing more jackpots than ever. Yes,
- 23:19more jackpots than ever. Thank you. God bless
- 23:24Idaho and God bless the United States of America.
- 23:29And all right. There was, like I said, it was
- 23:31a half an hour speech, but I just pulled some.
- 23:34No, no, that was enough. It was more than enough.
- 23:37No more. No more, please. Please, God, make it
- 23:41stop. Mother of God. Let's move on to a follow
- 23:47up here from last week's closing story on the
- 23:51Kootenay County coroner situation. There's a
- 23:53couple of quick developments, so let's let's
- 23:55touch on that. The Board of Spokane County Commissioners
- 23:58has voted to continue working with the Kootenai
- 24:00County Coroner until the end of this month in
- 24:02order to help them transition. Each year, the
- 24:05Spokane County Medical Examiner conducts about
- 24:0770 autopsies for Kootenai County. This was part
- 24:10of a decades -long partnership that was set to
- 24:13expire at the end of December. But weeks before
- 24:15the expiration, the Spokane County Medical Examiner
- 24:17sent an email abruptly ending that partnership.
- 24:20The Medical Examiner accused a Kootenai County
- 24:23Deputy Coroner of working with a former employee
- 24:25of Spokane County to destabilize operations.
- 24:29Today, Spokane County tells us protocol disagreements
- 24:32between the two departments have been going on
- 24:34for the past three years. According to the county,
- 24:36the medical examiner says she regrets sending
- 24:39that email. So Cooney County gets two more weeks?
- 24:45Yeah, a little extended time. And then there's
- 24:47one more. I did want to say quickly, though,
- 24:51the notion of sending the email and regretting
- 24:53it. Mean this is like a great life lesson in
- 24:56general Don't hit the send button You know, we're
- 25:00human. I mean, obviously I've done this we've
- 25:02all done this stuff before where we you know
- 25:04We say something we write something we we fire
- 25:07it off and then we regret it the next day Don't
- 25:10hit send just if you know, it's a catharsis to
- 25:14type this sort of stuff out. But then Sleep on
- 25:17it have a sleep. Don't hit the send button at
- 25:20the very least what you'll end up doing is going
- 25:22back to the draft and editing it because it won't
- 25:24read to you the next morning the way it read
- 25:26to you that afternoon. And tone can be really
- 25:30hard to convey through email, even though you
- 25:33think you're sending the right tone off to time.
- 25:35For instance, I'll tell you, I'm the kind of
- 25:37guy that I'll tell somebody, you look nice today.
- 25:40And what they'll hear is, you don't look ugly
- 25:42today. I got one of those personalities and faces
- 25:47and tones of voice, I guess. Meanwhile, other
- 25:49people I know who I'm friends with were bigger
- 25:51assholes than me. can literally tell somebody
- 25:53basically, go fuck off, and people will be like,
- 25:56ah, he's a nice guy. Isn't he a nice guy? You
- 25:59know, this is probably one of the many reasons
- 26:01that we vibe is I have the exact same problem
- 26:04you did. Now, this story sums it up perfectly,
- 26:07which is my kid brother, who's an art dealer
- 26:10in LA, his then girlfriend, now wife. At one
- 26:15point, years back, as we were watching him, my
- 26:20brother's name is Adam, as we were watching Adam
- 26:22talk someone's ear off about some piece of artwork.
- 26:25The two of them were sitting there staring at
- 26:27it and he was talking, talking, talking. Her
- 26:30name's Meredith. His wife leaned over to me and
- 26:32she was like, you know, Adam can talk someone's
- 26:37ear off for a half an hour. And at the end of
- 26:39the interaction, the people will be like, wow,
- 26:42you know so much. And then you do the exact same
- 26:46thing, Scott. And people go, that asshole thinks
- 26:49he knows everything. And then you turned to her
- 26:55and you said, thanks. Yeah. And well, I did.
- 26:58I was like, finally somebody is noticing this.
- 27:02I feel like I'm freaking taking crazy pills.
- 27:04We have a very similar personality, but he gets
- 27:06perceived very differently than I do. I started
- 27:16exploring like, Hey, well, what is the, there's
- 27:19gotta be, I mean, there's a million reasons,
- 27:21right? Like your body language tone, this and
- 27:22that. It's occurred to me at some point that
- 27:25we have a very different We sort of look similar,
- 27:27but he has a different facial structure in that
- 27:29his eyebrows, they go up like John Kerry, like
- 27:34his eyebrows are like a volcano, you know? So
- 27:37they look very earnest and like he's very interested
- 27:39in paying attention. Anybody who hears this,
- 27:42Google image John Kerry and have a laugh at what
- 27:44I just said. He has the most exaggerated, earnest
- 27:47eyebrows you've ever seen. So my brother has
- 27:50those very much. They sort of go up naturally.
- 27:53Mine, And actually, maybe yours, now that I think
- 27:55about it, goes down. Like, you would draw angry
- 27:59eyebrows on a cartoon yellow face, you know?
- 28:02You just angle them downward. And his go up as
- 28:05much as mine go down. And I've always, since
- 28:09then, gone like, this has a lot to do with it.
- 28:12I just Googled John Kerry's earnest eyebrows
- 28:15image search. Is it the most absurd thing you've
- 28:19ever seen? It's the most absurd thing I've ever
- 28:22Googled. Straight at the sky. And there's no
- 28:25wonder that guy was able to be such a slimy little
- 28:28reptile and have everyone, you know, look at
- 28:31him. What a sweetheart. He cares. I just look
- 28:34at this guy and I go, he cares about this multi
- 28:37-billionaire cares about me. I want to tell him
- 28:41my sorrows. He'll do something about it. He'll
- 28:44lend you a sympathetic ear. That's how I'm unlocked.
- 28:48It turns out I just got to work on my eyebrow
- 28:50movement. All right. I can do that. We can work
- 28:52on that. Yeah. Be advised. County Commissioners
- 28:55approved renovations to add an autopsy lab to
- 28:58the coroner's office. That's according to our
- 28:59news partners at the Coeur d 'Alene Press. It's
- 29:01been in the work since 2023, but has a new sense
- 29:04of urgency after Kootenai County's contract with
- 29:06the Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office
- 29:08was terminated just last week. Like most counties
- 29:12in Idaho, Kootenai County has no medical examiner
- 29:14on staff and no autopsy facilities. For years
- 29:17they would send cases to Spokane County. Commissioners
- 29:20unanimously approved the new $1 .7 million project.
- 29:23they say that project should be complete in about
- 29:26three months. So there you go, we're gonna have
- 29:29our own ability to process corpses. In the end
- 29:33it's probably in the long run it's a good thing
- 29:34with all the growth and now we are not subject
- 29:37to the whims of some emotional lady with a keyboard
- 29:41and an email address and Mr. Duke Johnson will
- 29:45finally get what he wants and ultimately it's
- 29:48probably the right maneuver but What I see, first
- 29:51and foremost, as always, is another budget line
- 29:53item that is eventually going to be used as a
- 29:56political weapon or a political shield or a political
- 29:58tool. And yet another thing we're going to fight
- 30:01over in some way, shape or form, somebody is
- 30:03going to want to spend more, somebody is going
- 30:05to want to spend less. Somehow we're going to
- 30:08get told to think of the children, even though
- 30:10we're talking about dead bodies. I'm sure it's
- 30:12going to come up. I guess the good news is that.
- 30:16while Sheriff Norris sits in this unworkable
- 30:19helicopter and thinks about how now at least
- 30:21we have a forensic lab for dead people. He's
- 30:25got that going for him. No helicopter, but a
- 30:28coroner's office. Won't somebody please think
- 30:31of the children? Here's one more quick follow
- 30:34-up before we take our mid -show breather, and
- 30:36this is with regard to the special deputy status,
- 30:39if you recall. Sheriff Norris yanked away cruelly
- 30:43and unusually. Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris
- 30:46is reinstating the special deputy status of two
- 30:50Coeur d 'Alene police officers but has yet to
- 30:52restore the status of Rathdrum's police chief.
- 30:55That's according to public records obtained by
- 30:57our news partner, the Coeur d 'Alene Press. Sheriff
- 30:59Norris originally revoked those privileges in
- 31:02early December and city leaders, leaders, leaders
- 31:05there, alleged that the move was an act of retaliation.
- 31:08The impact of law enforcement officers had suggested
- 31:11that Norris played a role in the incident last
- 31:13February at a town hall at a Coeur d 'Alene high
- 31:16school. I love that. That's hilarious. You get
- 31:20it back. You get it back. You're cool. You're
- 31:23cool. Fuck you. You're cool. You're cool. That's
- 31:30awesome. How petty can you be? It's the best.
- 31:34You know, people think somehow that we should
- 31:36give cops more power. And we should always obey
- 31:40and do what we're told and that these people
- 31:42are beyond reproach and that somehow they're
- 31:44the best of us and yada yada yada. You basically
- 31:46just have narcissists with guns and badges running
- 31:49around and a license and monopoly to hurt and
- 31:51kill and maim. They act like people just like
- 31:54the rest of us do. And this is just such a great.
- 31:56And these are the leader, leader, leaders doing
- 32:01this to each other. Like, what is this middle
- 32:03school? Are we getting picked last for dodgeball?
- 32:06This is hilarious. I also love the fact that
- 32:09it took them, what, three weeks to give it back.
- 32:11They revoked it two or three weeks ago. And I
- 32:14mean, maybe they got together for a steak dinner
- 32:17or something on the taxpayer dime and they worked
- 32:19it out. They took a Uber and the rathrum chief
- 32:21police ordered a salad. So they're like, no,
- 32:23no, you're not one of us. You get out of here.
- 32:28With that, I think it's time to describe the
- 32:32model of this show of no ID, which is value for
- 32:36value. This is a value for value podcast. We
- 32:41operate on that model. And the reason is we don't
- 32:44have and will never have sponsors. When you have
- 32:48sponsors, you get told what to say and what not
- 32:50to say. I have enough experience with that. And
- 32:54I think you don't even need direct experience
- 32:56to know what that means. Actually, you know what?
- 32:58That's a good question. Did you ever have that
- 33:00anything along those lines at the racketeer?
- 33:03Like a certain brand wanted you to do a promotion
- 33:06or anything like that? Yeah, but we never did
- 33:09it. So there's a couple things you could do in
- 33:11my industry. One of them is become a branded
- 33:13lounge, which I looked into doing because you
- 33:16get financial support and brand support, but
- 33:17you have to do everything their way. So that
- 33:19was, I looked into that and went, no, I'm good.
- 33:21There's also a lot of companies out there that,
- 33:24especially some of the bigger companies that
- 33:26want you to buy. X amount of stuff or certain
- 33:29brands or X amount Excuse me certain brands certain
- 33:32lines that they offer or X amount of certain
- 33:35lines You have to have so many facings or else
- 33:36they won't sell you the other stuff sort of like
- 33:38gateway products You got to get this much of
- 33:39this before we'll give you access to that so
- 33:41on and so forth there's a lot of shenanigans
- 33:43of that nature and Every single time I just went
- 33:46no. I'm not not gonna play your game. I do things
- 33:48my way I pick and choose what's best for the
- 33:50customer. I pick and choose what's best for me
- 33:52I'm not gonna buy cigars that I don't think will
- 33:54sell just so I can have access to other cigars
- 33:56that I think will sell I said, if you play those
- 33:58games with me, then that's shelf space is limited,
- 34:01but it's easy to fill up with good stuff. So
- 34:03I took my business elsewhere and I thoroughly
- 34:07enjoyed the freedom of doing that. I know it
- 34:09frustrated a lot of vendors and reps, but I was
- 34:13never rude about it. So I never made any enemies
- 34:15over it. It more was just a, Hey, you know, I'm
- 34:18not going to play that game. This is we're a
- 34:20different animal up here in North Idaho. Even
- 34:23all the events I ran up, I think I think 2019,
- 34:262018 was the last time I ever ran an event that
- 34:28was just your prototypical sales event. Show
- 34:31up and like buy boxes of cigars at a discount.
- 34:34I stopped doing that a long time ago. I stopped
- 34:37doing branded events where the brand themselves
- 34:41would come out and it was just for them. I stopped
- 34:43doing that stuff seven or eight years ago into
- 34:46my career and instead we always found creative
- 34:48ways to do what we wanted and then we would incorporate
- 34:51brands into it. give them an opportunity to get
- 34:54exposure and do something with us and We found
- 34:58a lot of success that way freedom and success.
- 35:00It was great. I enjoyed that Now you say you
- 35:03were never an asshole about it But are you sure
- 35:05that people didn't come away going like that
- 35:07guy looks so angry. What a dick Well, see most
- 35:11of my business interactions were email or phone
- 35:14so they couldn't look at my eyebrows So I got
- 35:17away with it. Yeah, huh? Yeah, it's your point.
- 35:20There you go. That's exactly what Getting that
- 35:21is that when you have you know a branded this
- 35:24or a sponsored that you get told what to do What's
- 35:28on the shelf what things need to look like what
- 35:30you need to say and what you need to not say
- 35:31and that is not What we do on this show value
- 35:34for value means that if you If you appreciate
- 35:37what you're hearing on the show if you find it
- 35:39valuable We try to bring the value by providing
- 35:42this show Then we ask for value in return and
- 35:45that can mean time talent or treasure the time
- 35:48and the talent portion is greatly appreciated
- 35:50boots on the ground reports, telling your friends
- 35:53about the show, or even someone who isn't your
- 35:55friend, maybe someone you're just sort of sidled
- 35:57up next to at a cigar lounge. Hey, I there's
- 36:00a great show that covers the panhandle. Tell
- 36:04your friends, tell your enemies, you know. And
- 36:06yes, so time, talent and treasure. Treasure is
- 36:08also obviously extremely appreciated. Everything
- 36:11to contribute back value to the show. If you
- 36:14find it valuable is at noidshow .com. There's
- 36:17a contact widget at the bottom for all forms
- 36:20of getting in touch with us. And then there's
- 36:21links to the Paypal's and the Venmo's and all
- 36:24the digital currency swapping that is extremely
- 36:28appreciated. So thank you everybody in advance.
- 36:31We appreciate you signing up for our email list.
- 36:33We also appreciate you combing through your spam
- 36:36folder because that's for some of it still going.
- 36:39The value for value model we definitely have
- 36:40in mind. That's why we did it without any video.
- 36:42Right. Because Scott and I both possess radio
- 36:44faces. So you guys don't even have to look at
- 36:46our eyebrows. Maybe we can use AI to superimpose
- 36:50John Kerry's eyebrows onto our faces. And then
- 36:52everyone will be like, oh, man, these guys are
- 36:54so earnest. I'm going to watch them on YouTube.
- 36:56That's the dish right there. You're on to something,
- 36:59Scott. You're on to something. Second half. Oh,
- 37:09show. All right. Yeah. Oh, go. Well, you got
- 37:13something you wanted. I was going to launch.
- 37:15I think I feel like after the. Value for value
- 37:18commercial break is the perfect time to launch
- 37:21into Scott's shots all right Okay, okay, cuz
- 37:25I think I'm gonna make you know if you'll allow
- 37:27me. I think that's the spot I'm gonna put it
- 37:29every show that way it's reliable. It's there
- 37:31Please let me even let me cue this up. Uh -huh
- 37:43Yeah, you get ready for this because the mental
- 37:48gymnastics involved you might pull a muscle Okay,
- 37:54I just dropped down into 10. I'm ready to go.
- 38:00How long did the COVID shutdowns last in Idaho?
- 38:07How long did they last? Well, let's be clear,
- 38:11there were never any shutdowns because Walmart
- 38:14and CVS and Target and Walgreens and Costco and
- 38:17Amazon and none of those places ever shut down.
- 38:19So how long did the small business attack last?
- 38:24I'm going to say, let's see, March, April, May,
- 38:27June, I'm going to say four months. That's pretty
- 38:32good. All right. Yeah, that's about right. That's
- 38:35about right. It's give or take a couple of weeks
- 38:37depending on who you ask and who was a little
- 38:38more rebellious versus not. So well done. Yes.
- 38:44The official unofficial small business attack
- 38:48shutdowns in Idaho lasted from the middle of
- 38:50March till the middle or end of June. Now, I
- 38:55pulled up a timeline of the governor's actions
- 38:58because I wanted to see what exactly that looked
- 39:02like. Now, I lived through all of it, but you
- 39:04always forget some of the specifics. However,
- 39:06the National Governors Association was kind enough
- 39:09to keep tabs on this. So each step of the way,
- 39:12most of it's like, governor requests more money
- 39:15for this, governor requests more money for that.
- 39:18March 13th, 2020, Governor Little declared a
- 39:20state of emergency. That's when things really
- 39:23got interesting. Then March 25th, governor issues
- 39:27a statewide stay home order for the state of
- 39:30Idaho. So through this timeline, you never once
- 39:33see the words shut down. The phrase is stay home
- 39:38order. Because originally, that's what I was
- 39:40looking for was shutdowns, but I couldn't find
- 39:42it. So I had to go back through everything and
- 39:43go, oh, OK. Also, we're using our made up names
- 39:46now. In Idaho, it was a three or four phase.
- 39:53reopening, which was always great. So when I
- 39:56was running the Bulldog Pipe and Cigar Lounge,
- 39:57we were technically considered a tavern because
- 39:59we had a beer and wine license. We were the first
- 40:01ones to be closed down in mid -March, and we
- 40:06were the last ones to get open in phase four
- 40:09in late June. In late June, says, Governor announced
- 40:15that Idaho will be moving to stage four of the
- 40:18reopening plan. under stage four, gatherings
- 40:20of more than 50 people are permitted as long
- 40:22as social distancing is practiced. And at that
- 40:25point, we all went, yeah, get bent. We don't
- 40:27like we're opening everybody. Pretty much everybody
- 40:30went get bent. We're opening. And then a couple
- 40:32of weeks later, I really like the fact that a
- 40:36few weeks later is that the governor stated during
- 40:39a town hall that he has not ruled out mandating
- 40:41mask wearing for the state if COVID -19 cases
- 40:44continue to rise. So they sort of kind of let
- 40:47us off the leash. two weeks into June, and then
- 40:50two weeks later go, but hold on, you might have
- 40:53to mask up some more. And we may not be we may
- 40:56not be through this. But at that point, nobody
- 40:59cared. Cat was out of the bag and we went now
- 41:00get bent. We're we're not doing what you say
- 41:02anymore. Yeah. And then July 23, the governor
- 41:08announces that Idaho will remain in stage four
- 41:11of the plan for at least another two weeks. But
- 41:14at that point, nobody cared and nobody was listening
- 41:16to him. Well, almost nobody. What's really interesting
- 41:19about this, Scott, is that in 2022, a couple
- 41:22years later, you wouldn't know it at all. I'm
- 41:27Brad Little. As a conservative, I know the government
- 41:30is best when it does the least. That's why I
- 41:33took my chainsaw to state regulation. Cutting
- 41:37government red tape by 95 percent 95 percent
- 41:41least regulated state in America in creating
- 41:44thousands of good -paying jobs Now Idaho's economy
- 41:47is booming because we cut government down to
- 41:50size with a chainsaw just getting started Man
- 41:56yes that all being said cover your face and close
- 41:59your business by order of the governor with a
- 42:01chainsaw and Just to set the wreck the just sort
- 42:06of for clarification purposes. I've had a lot
- 42:10of conversations with people where they're like,
- 42:13oh, well, of course you had the reaction you
- 42:15did. You were running a small business. There
- 42:19were a lot of people, my peers in the People's
- 42:22Republic of California, who were also running
- 42:25small businesses, very similar to mine, as you
- 42:27might imagine. I ran in some circles where my
- 42:30colleagues were doing the same things. They didn't
- 42:33have the same reaction I did. They dove in. to
- 42:36face covering and business closures all the way,
- 42:39all the way to the deep end of the Olympic pool.
- 42:42And they never left. They never reconsidered
- 42:44their decisions. They never questioned the government.
- 42:47To this day, they blame the pandemic for the
- 42:51fact that their businesses have mostly failed
- 42:52at this point. Some of my closest colleagues,
- 42:56their businesses have ceased to exist because
- 42:58they were never able to recover, because of course
- 43:00they wouldn't recover. People's habits were changed
- 43:03too much. Well, there's a million reasons, but
- 43:05they just never recovered. And in their, let's
- 43:08say, closure posts on Instagram that were shared
- 43:12with me by other colleagues, hey, this place
- 43:14is closing permanently in 2023, they blame the
- 43:18pandemic. They don't blame the state. They don't
- 43:20blame themselves. They blame an inanimate object.
- 43:24So just because I was running a private business,
- 43:27that did not dictate my reaction. My reaction
- 43:29would have been the same no matter what I was
- 43:30doing. And my friends' reactions, former friends'
- 43:33reactions, would have been the same too. It's
- 43:35about your relationship with liberty, not about
- 43:39what you were doing in your professional life.
- 43:44It's an important distinction to make. They're
- 43:45not the COVID shutdowns. They are the government
- 43:47shutdowns. COVID did not take my business away.
- 43:51COVID did not take my customers away. COVID did
- 43:53not keep me indoors. The government did. Or attempted
- 43:56to. Or attempted to, yeah. So relevant to Idaho.
- 44:02is, as we've just been talking about Brad Little
- 44:04today, because I thought the timing for this
- 44:05was perfect. The man campaigned in 2022 on being
- 44:11a liberty -minded governor who kept Idaho open.
- 44:14In fact, he frequently stated on the 2022 campaigns
- 44:17trail that, and I quote, I kept Idaho open while
- 44:21other states were on lockdown. I beg to differ.
- 44:27I opposed mandates. We issued no state level
- 44:30mask or vaccine mandates and we did not issue
- 44:33vaccine passports in Idaho. Now, technically
- 44:36that's true. However, there are people who were
- 44:41arrested for having garage sales in the middle
- 44:43of the pandemic by local authorities as part
- 44:46of the bigger state. I guess not mandates mandates
- 44:51where you get arrested for having garage sales
- 44:53and for opening your businesses and congregating
- 44:56where you're not supposed to congregate. So I
- 44:58guess I don't know. What is it? What is a mandate?
- 45:01That's not a mandate, but they treat it like
- 45:02a mandate. It's support for businesses he campaigns
- 45:06on. And of course, really, all that was was here's
- 45:08here's helicopter money. So this is our governor
- 45:11right now. So when we listen to his state of
- 45:13the state speech, like we did earlier, I just
- 45:16shake my head on everything that guy says. It's
- 45:20also disingenuous that everything with regard
- 45:22to liberty that happened in Idaho happened despite
- 45:25Brad Little, not because of him. It was because
- 45:27of the people like you just said. that you just
- 45:30stopped. People just weren't listening anymore.
- 45:32So then they were like, oh, OK, well, I guess
- 45:35then we're moving to this level or that level.
- 45:37If the people on the ground don't listen, the
- 45:40state has no authority. OK. In Idaho, they got
- 45:45away with about as much as they thought they
- 45:48could. And they knew if they pushed much further,
- 45:50there were going to be pockets of resistance,
- 45:52some of them up where we are now. They would
- 45:54have pushed further. They would have pushed harder.
- 45:55Like for where you're from, Scott, they could.
- 45:57And they did because they knew they could. So
- 45:59they did. That is correct. All right, let's move
- 46:03along to do you want to do the Coeur d 'Alene
- 46:07Press editorial advocating for Gookin? Yeah,
- 46:11let's do it. We put that off last week. So this
- 46:13we were we alluded to it last week that the press
- 46:15ran the editorial in support of Gookin ahead
- 46:19of his swearing in. So here is the actual article
- 46:22as read by a voice bot from Eleven Labs. On Tuesday,
- 46:26Coeur d 'Alene will see the beginning of a new
- 46:27era at City Hall when Dan Gookin is sworn in
- 46:30as mayor. Hopes and expectations are high for
- 46:33Gukan, who displayed an ability to analyze and
- 46:36ask hard questions of staff during his time on
- 46:39the City Council. He presented himself as a man
- 46:42of the people, and it resonated with residents,
- 46:45as Gukan won in November with nearly 35 % of
- 46:48the vote. While he will likely shake things up
- 46:50at City Hall, which seems to be what residents
- 46:53want, a quick look at a handful of situations
- 46:56that need the mayor's attention. Figure out ways
- 46:59for the city to develop a budget that doesn't
- 47:02rely on raising property taxes and using the
- 47:04general fund. The city's compensation package
- 47:07for employees is generally pretty generous. Wages
- 47:11and benefits average more than $100 ,000 per
- 47:14employee. Look at water use. It is not an infinite
- 47:17resource. Come summer, the city can pump in the
- 47:21range of 40 million gallons a day. While the
- 47:23city loves its parks, they demand a lot of water
- 47:26to keep them green. Water is relatively cheap
- 47:29in Coeur d 'Alene. Maybe too cheap. Deal with
- 47:32the growth of short -term rentals. Those operating
- 47:35illegally should be shut down and find neighborhoods
- 47:38are losing. That's going to be a big one. Sorry.
- 47:42I'm interrupting, but look out for that one.
- 47:45Dan Guggen has been on the war path when it comes
- 47:47to Airbnb for years. One of my buddies who runs
- 47:51some Airbnb and is the head of the local Airbnb
- 47:53advocacy group in Coeur d 'Alene. There's been
- 47:56a lot of back -and -forth battling between that
- 47:59group and guys like Dan Gukin So now that Dan
- 48:02Gukin is mayor It's gonna be interesting to see
- 48:05what he thinks he can or can't do and what he
- 48:07can or can't do Right now the one thing that
- 48:09really held him back in his crusade against Airbnb's
- 48:13and other rental properties is the fact that
- 48:15all of his friends and the people he's connected
- 48:17to and all of the People who are part of the
- 48:20Coeur d 'Alene cartel all have properties that
- 48:24are to Airbnbs, rentals, revenue generating properties.
- 48:28So you can only get so far with that one. plus
- 48:52an open seat soon to be filled. All of whom agree
- 48:55with each other. They are all part of the same
- 48:57group. They are all part of the cartel. Every
- 49:00single one of them. Oh, and the guy they just
- 49:02had filled the seat is also is also a city of
- 49:06Coeur d 'Alene attorney completely tied into
- 49:09the cartel. So Coeur d 'Alene is gone. Man, the
- 49:14mayor and the entire city council, they are all
- 49:16one body. The only thing they're going to argue
- 49:18about is How much to spend? It's gonna be a lot
- 49:24either way like how much to meddle in people's
- 49:26lives how much to spend it won't be Whether or
- 49:28not they should the only thing they might disagree
- 49:31on is just whether we're talking You know hundreds
- 49:34of thousands millions or billions Obviously not
- 49:37billions. It's the city of Coeur d 'Alene, but
- 49:38you get the idea Well, I don't know I see some
- 49:42cranes and some tall buildings going in down
- 49:44there Don't be surprised if the B word makes
- 49:47an appearance in the next few years He also has
- 49:49a sharp team at City Hall These are dedicated
- 49:52people who are committed to making and keeping
- 49:54Coeur d 'Alene great. But as he demonstrated
- 49:56as a city counselor, Gouken is not afraid to
- 50:00stand alone. Gouken has the drive, dedication,
- 50:04and determination to deliver on the campaign
- 50:06that earned him the support of voters and his
- 50:09seat in the mayor's office. He plans to provide
- 50:11the leadership he believes has been missing at
- 50:13City Hall, and we think he is the right person
- 50:16for the job. Come over for a gay time. I can't
- 50:20help it. It's an evergreen. All right. So we're
- 50:26in for it. Actually, you're not. And I'm one
- 50:29of us live in Coeur d 'Alene. Thank God. Thank
- 50:33God. You know, what's crazy is that they they
- 50:35tout that he took 35 percent of the vote, which
- 50:38in and of itself is not a majority. They had
- 50:41multiple people running three, I think, for sure.
- 50:43Four. No, they had four candidates running and
- 50:47Dan Guggen got 35 percent of the total vote.
- 50:49which amounted to somewhere around 3 ,000 votes,
- 50:53if memory serves correctly. It was just above
- 50:553 ,000 votes. Had not their person won, the Coeur
- 51:00d 'Alene press would have spun it as, with only
- 51:033 ,200 votes and only 35 % of the overall electorate,
- 51:07this mayor is now going to do blah, blah, blah,
- 51:10without a clear mandate. Not only that, wasn't
- 51:16it only 20 -something percent of people that
- 51:18showed up to vote in the first place? It was
- 51:21sub 20. I think I'm pretty sure it was because
- 51:23we talked about it It was somewhere around 15
- 51:25to 19 percent the Cooney County always turns
- 51:27out a little higher So it might have been 21
- 51:2922 percent, but as the statewide it was sub 20
- 51:33So in other words four out of five people didn't
- 51:35vote at all and of the of the one in five that
- 51:39did Look less than way less than half of them
- 51:44voted for Guggen 30 something percent. So it
- 51:47isn't it is really not exactly a mandate. However
- 51:50People didn't vote. I mean, you know, what are
- 51:52you going to do? Yeah. Well, in a town of roughly
- 51:57now about 60 ,000, maybe 65 ,000 because of the
- 52:01last census in 2020, it was a just smidge under
- 52:0455 ,000. That's quarterly improper. We don't
- 52:06think of it as that small because there's so
- 52:07much surrounding it. It all bleeds together.
- 52:10But you got to figure it's about 65 ,000 now.
- 52:13They had a sub 20 turnout and 30 in between 3000
- 52:18and 3400 people voted for the mayor. So that
- 52:22is five percent six percent of the population
- 52:27of Coeur d 'Alene of course, we're counting I
- 52:29think women and children and all that kind of
- 52:31stuff, but That's pretty wild five percent six
- 52:35percent mandate let's cover a little bit of how
- 52:40Idaho NPR covered the Some ice stuff just because
- 52:44that's you know, that's the wall -to -wall mainstream
- 52:47hammering at the moment. So here goes nothing
- 52:51On the steps of the Idaho Capitol last evening,
- 52:54a protest specifically regarding public safety
- 52:57and accountability that in the shadow of an immigration
- 53:00enforcement agent firing three shots into a vehicle
- 53:03killing a Minneapolis woman. All Americans have
- 53:05the right to feel safe in our streets. What ice
- 53:08is doing is the opposite of that, like they're
- 53:10making everyone unsafe. But if the people that
- 53:13are in the positions of power right now are being
- 53:15so irresponsible and won't address these issues.
- 53:19and draw attention to them, then we will. This
- 53:21is Sonya Christensen from the Idaho Advocacy
- 53:25Group 50501. She and her colleagues last evening
- 53:28pointed to Idaho leadership leadership leadership
- 53:32ordering state law enforcement to cooperate with
- 53:35ICE agents. Just quickly I looked up 50501 that's
- 53:39it's like oh 50 protests in 50 states. It's an
- 53:42organized It's a group to organize protests.
- 53:45So remember yesterday when we were texting, and
- 53:47I was joking about central, this is dispatch,
- 53:50we need you to dispatch a group of tards out
- 53:53to the street here, we're going to have professionally
- 53:55printed signs for them. dispatch to central,
- 53:57they're on their way over. When you need to dispatch
- 54:01the tards into the streets. Here's who you call
- 54:0450501. Very grassroots, I'm sure very grassroots.
- 54:09Oh, yeah, bottom up all the way. With ice being
- 54:11what it is, and our police Working hand -in -hand
- 54:14with them. It's a real problem for Idahoans where
- 54:17we're not going to be able to really trust our
- 54:19police You know, this won't be the last time
- 54:22something like what happened in Minneapolis happens
- 54:24as long as our elected leaders leaders leaders
- 54:26Continues to advocate their duty and shirk all
- 54:30responsibility to check this unmeasured executive
- 54:32power and casting another last time I last time
- 54:35I looked I thought it was the responsibility
- 54:37of our leader leader leaders to actually enforce
- 54:41the law Which in this case includes immigration
- 54:45laws. What am I missing here? It's the whole
- 54:48situation is messed up though. It's sad all the
- 54:51way around. I'm not taking a side because Everybody's
- 54:55horrible in this one. Yeah, everyone's horrible.
- 54:58And this lady. Oh, yes Oh unchecked executive
- 55:02power clutching my pearls about unchecked executive
- 55:05power you psychos love unchecked executive power
- 55:10Pepperidge farm remembers 2020 c -word and shirk
- 55:14all responsibility to check this unmeasured executive
- 55:17power. Oh, uh -huh Yeah, where were you in 2020?
- 55:20Where were you? I know where you were. You were
- 55:22double masking your four -year -old executive
- 55:24power and casting another shadow over last evening's
- 55:28event Two people being shot and wounded in portland
- 55:32by customs and border protection officers on
- 55:35thursday Now there's not a part of that where
- 55:38they had somebody on to give another perspective.
- 55:42I'm not saying necessarily pro -ICE or anything,
- 55:44but just a different perspective than ICE as
- 55:47a terrorist organization. There is no other perspective.
- 55:50They just give the one. So that would be your
- 55:53classic NPR bias by omission. Shocked by this.
- 55:59Absolutely shocked, I say. Floored. I have to
- 56:00go peel Paul up off the floor. Here's one more
- 56:03quick one about the protests. This was out in
- 56:06Sandpoint. Our news partners at the Bonner County
- 56:07Daily Bee say hundreds of people were there protesting
- 56:10against ICE. Organizers say they counted more
- 56:13than 200 people. That's what he said. This was
- 56:15out in Sandpoint. Our news partners at the Bonner
- 56:18County Daily Bee say hundreds of people were
- 56:20there protesting against ICE. Organizers say
- 56:22they counted more than 200 people. And that's
- 56:25just a few of the hundreds of protests that happened
- 56:27over the weekend. Hundreds of people, about the
- 56:30same amount of people that voted for Dan Gukin.
- 56:33Yeah, if this was on the other foot, then it
- 56:35would be only, only a few hundred people showed
- 56:38up for this. Also, do these people not have anything
- 56:43to do? You know, when, when the, at least to
- 56:49the, to the credit of most conservatives slash
- 56:51libertarians slash whatever, I guess the quote
- 56:53unquote right, most of the time when they protest
- 56:57or show up for something, It's on the weekend
- 57:00because it's the only time they can do it. How
- 57:04the hell do all of these people just turn up
- 57:06in the middle of the fucking week in the middle
- 57:09of the workday on a whim, ready to go. And this
- 57:14is the this is the topic they pick. You see,
- 57:17that's why you can't take these people seriously.
- 57:18These are the people who will look you in the
- 57:20eye and tell you that like the covid stuff was
- 57:24all worth it to save one life or to save the
- 57:28children. while they stand on a mountain of dead
- 57:31babies. These are the people who look you in
- 57:33the eye and tell you, no kings, while they watched
- 57:36Biden issue as many executive orders as Trump
- 57:39did, so on and so forth. It's crazy. The level
- 57:43of disconnect and the lack of irony that these
- 57:48people have is incredible. And here are more
- 57:54NPC's with their professionally printed signs
- 57:57at the Capitol. The Idaho State House was filled
- 57:59with advocates for Medicaid ahead of Monday's
- 58:01state of the state address, talking to families
- 58:04and local leaders, leaders, leaders who tell
- 58:06me they want that funding left alone. Leave Medicaid
- 58:09alone. You've already done the cuts. Trixie Wade
- 58:12is a Nampa mother whose daughter lives with multiple
- 58:15lifelong disabilities. Harper's 10 years old.
- 58:19She wants to be a part of our family. She doesn't
- 58:21want to be fo by losing um access to c previously
- 58:28reported Idaho recommended state lawmak expansion.
- 58:34This session tr is cut further, her daughter
- 58:38to move to an out of state of receiving care
- 58:41at home. to us. We want to love ou her in our
- 58:45family. We wan She was one of many who s potential
- 58:52impact of cutti as state lawmakers recon session.
- 58:58Your friends, you around you is impacted b before
- 59:03cuts. Voters passed because they wanted their
- 59:07to have health care. Many are accessing or using
- 59:12the to pay for additional help. It could be a
- 59:16sign language interpreter or school nurse that
- 59:18is needed. And the state house was full of people
- 59:21living with disabilities who benefit from the
- 59:23program. Because it's for my my pacemaker. Even
- 59:27with the large turnout intended to get Governor
- 59:29Little's attention, Medicaid wasn't mentioned
- 59:32in his state of the state address. The federal
- 59:34one can't touch it right now. And he's not going
- 59:40to lead the charge on it. I'm sorry, I'm interrupting
- 59:42your clip, but speaking to Little, this is how
- 59:46he's going to operate. He's not going to touch
- 59:48it. He's not going to lead the charge on it.
- 59:50If the legislature makes a move on it, which
- 59:54they will try, but I think they will fail because
- 59:57again, it is a election year. It's an election
- 1:00:00year. So there might be some murmurings about
- 1:00:02it, but the only murmurings about it will be
- 1:00:05mainly from the actual conservatives who are
- 1:00:09trying to appeal to their base and show that
- 1:00:12it's the thought that counts. And then when they
- 1:00:16go campaign this year, they can be like, well,
- 1:00:19I tried to do it. Vote me back in and I'll try
- 1:00:22to do it again. And on the other side, the people
- 1:00:25who are on the other side of that can co and
- 1:00:27campaign and be like, and I stopped it. And now
- 1:00:30you guys can all still have your free money.
- 1:00:33And I'm fighting for you. And everybody's happy
- 1:00:36on the campaign trail. And then Brad Little,
- 1:00:38who will happily just sit there and let it all
- 1:00:41play out and nothing will happen anyways, could
- 1:00:42just be like, and I didn't have to do anything.
- 1:00:48This is a systemic issue. Everybody here is economically
- 1:00:52illiterate, not understanding that this will
- 1:00:55continue to get worse every year. The budget
- 1:00:58deficit will get worse. main driver is spending
- 1:01:02on state -run schools and Medicaid expansion.
- 1:01:06And yes, we are beating the horse on this, but
- 1:01:07that's because those are your two biggest expenditures.
- 1:01:10You can't sit there and not address those. I
- 1:01:15don't know what you're talking about with your
- 1:01:16fancy pants economic literacy. If strangers don't
- 1:01:20pay my daughter's medical bills, I can't love
- 1:01:23her. Governor Little's recent budget hold back.
- 1:01:26Think of the children. Together, these actions
- 1:01:28will make significant changes, with estimates
- 1:01:30showing about 75 ,000 Idahoans becoming newly
- 1:01:34uninsured. At what cost do they do this, and
- 1:01:37how many lives will be lost? It's not a free
- 1:01:40hand. How many lives there is. It's about saving
- 1:01:42lives. We will wreck the economy. We will tax
- 1:01:46you harder. We will stimmy actual economic growth.
- 1:01:50We will do whatever. The damage doesn't matter.
- 1:01:53as long as one life is saved, especially if that
- 1:01:56life... WON'T SOMEBODY PLEASE! Okay, you don't
- 1:02:02get moral credit for forcing people to pay for
- 1:02:06the shit you want over the barrel of a government
- 1:02:09gun. Medicaid is not charity. Medicaid is forced,
- 1:02:16extorted use of funds for other people's stuff.
- 1:02:21And it is rife with fraud and abuse. You don't
- 1:02:25get moral credit for it. You're not a good person
- 1:02:27for voting for your neighbor to have their stuff
- 1:02:30taken from them to help your other neighbor.
- 1:02:32You want to help somebody, help them yourselves.
- 1:02:35That's how you get moral credit. We should let
- 1:02:38little Timmy advocate for himself. Timmy, remove
- 1:02:42your masks. Would you like to say something?
- 1:02:44Actually, no, put them back on. Never mind. It's
- 1:02:47not a free handout to people who can't. do anything
- 1:02:51for themselves. It's literally a free handout.
- 1:02:54Like you can see that's the thing. That's why
- 1:02:56you know that they're so bankrupt intellectually
- 1:02:58and morally. Like you can say you can make your
- 1:03:02case, but if you deny the premise, you're just
- 1:03:05a reptile. You're full of crap. You have to lie
- 1:03:08about your premise because you know how it sounds
- 1:03:10when you tell the truth about it. So you have
- 1:03:12to be like, well, it's not a handout. What you
- 1:03:13can say is it is, but here's why it's necessary.
- 1:03:16It's not a free handout to people who can't.
- 1:03:20do anything for themselves. Why can't you? They
- 1:03:23still need health care. They still have family.
- 1:03:25People still love them and want them around.
- 1:03:28Oh, it's right. So you hate kids and don't want
- 1:03:31them around if you aren't for other people paying
- 1:03:33for your medical bills. That's the way they do
- 1:03:37it is if you don't want the government to do
- 1:03:40X, then that means you are against X. Actually,
- 1:03:44Frederick Bastiat had a great quote about that.
- 1:03:46He goes, We being like libertarians and this
- 1:03:48is guys from the 17th century 18th century is
- 1:03:51as we object to the state Doing education so
- 1:03:55status to accuse us of hating education. We object
- 1:03:58to the state doing XYZ and so we are accused
- 1:04:01of hating XYZ if we were to object to the state
- 1:04:05raising grain a Statist would accuse us of wanting
- 1:04:08people to not eat Here is another Idaho NPR report
- 1:04:15and you're gonna hear that tactic used just perfectly
- 1:04:19on the nose with regard to their budget deficit,
- 1:04:22quote, reporting. Expect another year of government
- 1:04:25cuts and no races for state employees that under...
- 1:04:29Yay! ...Red Little's newly proposed budget. James
- 1:04:32Dawson reports. That's a good thing. The spending
- 1:04:34plan would make Little's 3 % budget cuts permanent,
- 1:04:37along with more than $500 million in additional
- 1:04:40cuts to clean water, transportation, and Medicaid.
- 1:04:44It's all to deal with the projected... We hate
- 1:04:47clean water and clean air. I hate clean water.
- 1:04:52Yep. Yeah. I can't. Let them drink Ebola, said
- 1:04:59Queen What's -her -face from the French Revolution.
- 1:05:03That was Marie Antoinette. Thank you. The spending
- 1:05:07plan would make Little's 3 % budget cuts permanent,
- 1:05:11along with more than $500 million in additional
- 1:05:14cuts to clean water, transportation, and Medicaid.
- 1:05:18What just just just to clean water it Just like
- 1:05:25that whoosh three percent of the clean water
- 1:05:28is gone transportation and Medicaid It's all
- 1:05:33to deal with a projected budget deficit Still
- 1:05:36he says the pain will be temporary Democrats
- 1:05:39say this is a self -inflicted wound after many
- 1:05:42years in a row of tax cuts. Assistant Senate
- 1:05:45Democratic Leader James Ruckte wants to dip into
- 1:05:48rainy day funds to fill the gap. The rainy day
- 1:05:50funds are taxpayer money that we've set aside
- 1:05:53wisely to take care of situations like this.
- 1:05:56That's a non -starter for the public. We stole
- 1:05:58more than we needed to, and now that we've not
- 1:06:03stolen enough, we're going to dip into this.
- 1:06:06It's exactly for this situation. When we've spent
- 1:06:09too much, we can use what we already over collected.
- 1:06:12This is fantastic. House Speaker Mike Moyle says
- 1:06:14there's no cause for alarm. I do hear a lot of
- 1:06:18griping and concerns right now because we may
- 1:06:21have to do a little bit of trimming on budgets,
- 1:06:22but it's not that much. The legislature's budget.
- 1:06:25That's all they included for him. Wait, wait,
- 1:06:26hold on. This is not that much. Okay, this is
- 1:06:29how you sound, Mike Moyle. Is this some sort
- 1:06:32of peasant joke that I'm too rich to understand?
- 1:06:37yes yes now everybody get in the uber limo as
- 1:06:40we head to Beverly may have to do a little bit
- 1:06:43of trimming on budgets but it's not that much
- 1:06:45the legislature's budget committee but it's not
- 1:06:47that much morning James Dawson actually I agree
- 1:06:50the best part is that I agree with him I do agree
- 1:06:53with him. He's right. 3 % is ain't shit. This
- 1:06:57is a good thing, especially when you're talking
- 1:06:59about the salaries of public employees. Being
- 1:07:02a public employee is not a public servant. They
- 1:07:04always like to use the term public servant. First
- 1:07:06off, get fucked. You're not a public servant.
- 1:07:08And the fact that the gig is so good that everybody
- 1:07:10wants it. And even in Coeur d 'Alene, it's an
- 1:07:13average of six figures. Again, get bent, man.
- 1:07:15We spend too much money on that. So let's start
- 1:07:17there. That's a great spot. But Mike Moyle is
- 1:07:19correct. It's just funny the way he said it.
- 1:07:23The way it comes off is, I think, more flippant
- 1:07:25than he probably means it to. But I do agree
- 1:07:29with him on it. That should be a starting point.
- 1:07:32And of course, classic Democrats. I love this,
- 1:07:34though. I'm hoping the Democrats, if they keep
- 1:07:36on this track, not that I have any love for most
- 1:07:38of the Republicans, as everybody who's listening
- 1:07:40to this probably should know by now. And I know
- 1:07:42you know, Scott. The Democrats are just Republicans
- 1:07:45that have fallen fully off the cliff. There's
- 1:07:48not a whole lot difference between the most of
- 1:07:49them anymore, but the Democrats are tipping their
- 1:07:52hand already. The legislative session just started
- 1:07:54and the Democrats are going, you know what the
- 1:07:57problem is? Too much educational choice and we
- 1:08:00haven't stolen enough of your money. That's our
- 1:08:03platform. We love clean water. We're the Democrats.
- 1:08:08Good times. I did write down as a possible show
- 1:08:12title, People Before Cuts. I like that one. So,
- 1:08:15but if anything else pops out to you, we should,
- 1:08:17I want to start doing that. I want to start picking
- 1:08:19the show title during the show when the right
- 1:08:22phrase strikes us. So keep that in the back of
- 1:08:25your head, in the back of your mind. And until
- 1:08:29then, I got one more for this week because today
- 1:08:33the Idaho Supreme Court is hearing arguments
- 1:08:36with regard to HB 500. No, excuse me. I'm sorry.
- 1:08:40The transgender athletic ban. In the nation's
- 1:08:43capital today, the U .S. Supreme Court will be
- 1:08:46hearing arguments on a challenge to the Idaho
- 1:08:49law that bans transgender women and girls from
- 1:08:53participating in the sports that align with their
- 1:08:56gender identity. that dudes can't beat the shit
- 1:09:03out of chicks in sports. That would be the way
- 1:09:07to say it in non -fork -tongued language. But
- 1:09:10here, let me before I continue on the NPR report,
- 1:09:12let me play this from from CREM because they
- 1:09:16did the I want to put together a supercut of
- 1:09:19the transgender athletic band because clearly
- 1:09:21a memo from Central has gone out where that that's
- 1:09:24the phraseology that needs to be used by all
- 1:09:26of the talking heads. The Supreme Court is set
- 1:09:29to hear arguments on the Idaho transgender athletics
- 1:09:32ban. Transgender athletics ban. So I'm going
- 1:09:35to put together for next show a super cut so
- 1:09:36you can hear all of the different places that
- 1:09:38are doing it. Now, if something is that, like
- 1:09:42if the phrasing is specific and everyone is using
- 1:09:44the same phrasing, where did the directive for
- 1:09:47the phrasing come from? One must wonder. Owen
- 1:09:50Henderson reports. Excellent question. Lindsay
- 1:09:52Hecox wanted to try out for the Boise State.
- 1:09:54Let me play the name one more time of this person.
- 1:09:57Lindsay Hecox wanted to try out for the Boise
- 1:10:00State University track team in 2020. But because
- 1:10:02she's trans, Idaho law would have required her
- 1:10:05to run for the men's team. Because it's a guy.
- 1:10:09Because he cocks. He cocks. You cannot make this
- 1:10:13stuff up. He cocks. They're trying to sob story
- 1:10:16this person. They are they are trying to turn
- 1:10:19it. How do you turn this into a sob story? This
- 1:10:21is impossible. Won't somebody please think of
- 1:10:25the cock and balls? Lindsay Hecox wanted to try
- 1:10:27out for the Boise State University track team
- 1:10:29in 2020. But because she's trans, Idaho law would
- 1:10:33have required her to run for the men's team,
- 1:10:35not the women's. So she sued. Courts initially
- 1:10:38sided with Hecox, then narrowed the ruling to
- 1:10:41apply only to her and not other athletes. How
- 1:10:44does that work? I don't know. Only to her? So
- 1:10:48like, you get a pass but no one else does? That's
- 1:10:52what they mean. Yes, case by case. And you, she
- 1:10:57vag can run for the women, but nobody else can.
- 1:11:01I guess. I don't know. This is it's also convoluted
- 1:11:04in the words. I wonder if they set the set the
- 1:11:07metric for like length and girth or something.
- 1:11:09And they had to measure and they're like, OK,
- 1:11:11if you are this long and this girthy, then you
- 1:11:15can participate because you barely count as a
- 1:11:17man anyways. And you go, you can run with the
- 1:11:20girls. Yeah, stack of dimes over there, you're
- 1:11:22in. Only to her and not other athletes. In 2024,
- 1:11:27Idaho appealed to the high court. Peter Wren
- 1:11:29with LGBTQ advocacy group Lambda Legal says the
- 1:11:32decision in this case could be fairly narrow.
- 1:11:35What we've seen historically from this court
- 1:11:37is that it tends to rule in cases in this field
- 1:11:41on fairly case specific grounds rather than reaching
- 1:11:44out and deciding questions that it doesn't have
- 1:11:46to decide today. ACLU -Idaho will represent HECOX.
- 1:11:50In a statement, it said, this law is part of
- 1:11:52an effort to, quote, exclude transgender people
- 1:11:54from public life and undermine civil rights for
- 1:11:57all, end quote. Right. So again, with their forked
- 1:12:00tongue. Because we said they can't go out in
- 1:12:01public. We said that they're not allowed to do
- 1:12:04all kinds of, yeah, because that's what this
- 1:12:05is about. They're banned. Transgender banned.
- 1:12:07They're banned. Yeah. You notice that's the language
- 1:12:09they use, of course, is it's a transgender ban.
- 1:12:12And that's just what they call it. As if this
- 1:12:16passes or goes through, or the Supreme Court
- 1:12:18rules in the favor of biology, that now trans
- 1:12:22people just don't have a place in the world because
- 1:12:26a man couldn't run with the girls. How else is
- 1:12:31he Cox supposed to break state records, you dick?
- 1:12:34If you'll excuse the exact insult I decided to
- 1:12:37hurl at you there. To quote, exclude transgender
- 1:12:40people from public life and undermine civil rights
- 1:12:42for all. By the way, that's exactly by the way,
- 1:12:45you freaking inverters of reality at the ACLU.
- 1:12:48What a disgrace. That's exactly what you're doing.
- 1:12:51You are trying to undermine the civil liberties
- 1:12:54of all of the actual females who are attempting
- 1:12:56to compete in sports like normal humans. You
- 1:12:59are undermining everybody. It's a much as if
- 1:13:03you're doing what you're you're accusing your
- 1:13:05opponent of that, which you do. Well, furthermore,
- 1:13:09imagine being part of the silent generation or
- 1:13:11the boomer generation, which fought at this point
- 1:13:15was, I think, boomers were third wave feminism
- 1:13:17because then Gen X and millennials were fourth
- 1:13:19wave feminism and third wave feminism made at
- 1:13:22least a little more sense. Not a lot more, but
- 1:13:25a little more relative to fourth wave feminism.
- 1:13:28Everything makes way more sense. But the title
- 1:13:31nine bullshit where you know, if you're gonna
- 1:13:33have men's sports You need to have a commensurate
- 1:13:36amount of female sports and whatnot, which again,
- 1:13:38it's bullshit But the idea behind it in theory
- 1:13:41made sense But of course the practice is always
- 1:13:44messy and screwed up and men lose most their
- 1:13:46sports because of it at the college level at
- 1:13:49the high school level it's called title nine
- 1:13:50and it was a big thing that came about during
- 1:13:52after the civil rights movement, but imagine
- 1:13:55being, you know, your grandma or your great grandma
- 1:13:57and Yeah. Having fought for women's rights and
- 1:14:01the ability to, you know, do sports on an equal,
- 1:14:03on a, at the same level as men and have access
- 1:14:07to all these different things. Only, only for
- 1:14:09your grandchild to be out there protesting and
- 1:14:12advocating for men to dominate your sports. What
- 1:14:19a time to be alive. Did you imagine watching
- 1:14:20that? Like, yeah. What is the point of feminism
- 1:14:24at all in any way, shape or form? if men can
- 1:14:27be women and women can be men. Oh, it's almost
- 1:14:30as if the whole point of the feminist movement
- 1:14:33in the first place had nothing to do with feminism,
- 1:14:36eh, comrades? Part of an effort to, quote, exclude
- 1:14:38transgender people from public life and undermine
- 1:14:41civil rights for all, end quote. Yes, yes, my
- 1:14:44civil rights are definitely at stake because
- 1:14:46I can't just get out there and pounce on the
- 1:14:50women in sports. Yes, Paul Shevage wants to go
- 1:14:54compete with the women. 29 states currently...
- 1:14:57Olena would be really good at women's basketball.
- 1:15:0129 states currently restrict trans athletes participation
- 1:15:03in sports. No, they do not. No, they do not.
- 1:15:06That is an outright lie. You hear the lie? 29
- 1:15:09states currently restrict trans athletes participation
- 1:15:12in sports. What the hell is this lady talking
- 1:15:14about? What is she talking about? Yeah, because
- 1:15:16I know that's not true. Fork tongue. In his own
- 1:15:19statement, Idaho Attorney General Raul Labrador
- 1:15:22said it's an injustice to allow trans women to
- 1:15:25compete with athletes assigned female at birth.
- 1:15:28Hecox asked the court to drop the case, saying
- 1:15:30she wanted to focus on graduating. A federal
- 1:15:33judge declined to do so, but the high court may
- 1:15:35still dismiss the case after hearing arguments.
- 1:15:38Hecox then shifted in his seat, scratched his
- 1:15:40balls, and said, I thank the court for your time.
- 1:15:44I don't want to do this anymore. Of course, the
- 1:15:47problem is a precedent's been set. Now it has
- 1:15:49to be determined what can happen going forward.
- 1:15:52This is a big deal. But if I had a kid in the
- 1:15:55system, which I don't because I'm not an idiot,
- 1:15:58but if I did, then I would be incensed at my
- 1:16:0415 -year -old daughter sharing a locker room
- 1:16:06with a dude and having to compete with a dude.
- 1:16:10We are biologically different. I can't believe
- 1:16:13we're talking about this. I know. It's like,
- 1:16:16right. It's any sense at all. It is so self -evident.
- 1:16:18Everything about it is so self -evident. But
- 1:16:20here we are in the state of Idaho having the
- 1:16:23conversation. Well, that's the thing. That's
- 1:16:25the thing about the activist, the commie activist
- 1:16:27set is that, like, what you just said, like,
- 1:16:29well, I'd be uncomfortable with my 15 -year -old
- 1:16:31dad. Like, 99 .999 % of parents feel the same.
- 1:16:39Forget parents. Of people. either will say that
- 1:16:43or at least think it. Everybody knows that this
- 1:16:46is absurd. Like just gaslighting reality is gaslighting
- 1:16:51everybody. And then the ACLU turns around and
- 1:16:54says the opposite. They're trying to protect
- 1:16:56the civil liberties of everybody, even though
- 1:16:58everybody knows what you just said. Yeah, well,
- 1:17:01where were they when they were locking us all
- 1:17:03down? Where are they every time the government
- 1:17:05actually does step on our necks? See, that's
- 1:17:07the problem. That's the problem with the the
- 1:17:09mass psychosis era is that all of these institutions
- 1:17:12and all these organizations and all of these
- 1:17:15governmental bodies, they all revealed for everyone
- 1:17:17to see what they are and what they stand for
- 1:17:20and when they will step in. So now all of their
- 1:17:22premises about what they do and don't stand for
- 1:17:25and do and don't care about. It's all it's too
- 1:17:27late. You already showed us. Indeed. Now they
- 1:17:32just say the quiet part out loud. I will say
- 1:17:35this as a sort of a PSA, if I may. I'm going
- 1:17:38to get on my soapbox. Get your kids out of public
- 1:17:43school. What are you doing? And there's always
- 1:17:49the people who are like, well, I can't. Life
- 1:17:51is so expensive. We both got to work or we won't.
- 1:17:54We don't want to sacrifice, blah, blah, blah,
- 1:17:55blah. There are circumstances. I get it. I understand.
- 1:18:00There's a few excuses that are actually valid.
- 1:18:02Most of them are not. my wife and I have done
- 1:18:08it on one income since we've had kids. That's
- 1:18:1115 years now. We've been a lot poorer than we
- 1:18:14could have been. We chose to do it. The sacrifice
- 1:18:17is worth it. Our kids show it. And all of these
- 1:18:20issues, like boys competing with girls, we don't
- 1:18:25deal with. If you are a Christian, if you are
- 1:18:28a conservative, you are a libertarian, if you
- 1:18:29are a person who has common sense, morals, values,
- 1:18:33standards, ethics, get your kids out of public
- 1:18:36school. We gotta build a parallel society of
- 1:18:39our own. And that starts with getting your kids
- 1:18:42and yourselves extricated from the system. It
- 1:18:46starts there. And man, it's freeing. So, there
- 1:18:49you go. There's my PSA. Perfect. It's Dances
- 1:18:53with Wolves. If you've ever seen that movie.
- 1:18:55Now obviously we're not dealing with like cowboys
- 1:18:57and Indians here, but the music is emotive and
- 1:19:01brings, to me anyways, brings back thoughts of
- 1:19:04like more front team. Like more of the American
- 1:19:07Spirit type thing going on, you know what I mean?
- 1:19:10I do. Well, speaking of American Spirit, I think
- 1:19:15I need to go to an Idaho smoke shop and get a
- 1:19:18pack of American Spirits, where it's half the
- 1:19:20price as they are in Washington now. Heyo! Yeah,
- 1:19:24good times. Well, I don't know that we had anything...
- 1:19:28Was there anything uplifting in this week's show?
- 1:19:30Or is it just a fun day? Is it just a big downer?
- 1:19:34I feel a little gross. I'm going to have to go
- 1:19:36take an Ace Ventura rape shower. Dang, dang.
- 1:19:41Just in a fetal position on the floor of the
- 1:19:44tub sobbing while cold water runs on me. Einhorn
- 1:19:47is a man! An extra cold shower. Oh, boy. You're
- 1:19:52right. I got nothing, man. I got nothing that
- 1:19:56was... I'm sorry. Well, Kootenai is going to
- 1:19:59have a new facility for dead people. Is that...
- 1:20:02Well, no, that's not... either. Gukin is a shill.
- 1:20:07No. Brad Little is a reptile. No. Let's see.
- 1:20:12Ice is no, no. Deputy status is reinstated by
- 1:20:16Norris. That's good for those guys. I mean, that's
- 1:20:18kind of a, I guess that's sort of a puff piece.
- 1:20:21Yeah, yeah. Democrats want higher taxes. I mean,
- 1:20:25like breaking news, the leader, leader, leaders
- 1:20:28of the cops aren't fighting amongst each other
- 1:20:31anymore. And yes, now they can finally, they
- 1:20:35can pull people over again for, you know, California
- 1:20:38rolling through stop signs. I thought this was,
- 1:20:43I'm sorry, I thought this was America. Well,
- 1:20:47I guess we can, I'll try and maybe more specifically
- 1:20:51look for, you know, some levity in there, like,
- 1:20:54you know, some Idaho and decorating the White
- 1:20:56House for our leader, leader, leaders or other
- 1:20:59forms of fluff. that we can maybe inject some
- 1:21:01levity into next week's show. So I apologize
- 1:21:04for what you've heard today. I don't. And with
- 1:21:08that lack of apology from Post Falls, I'm Scott.
- 1:21:13And I'm Paul. Taxation is theft. You don't look
- 1:21:19ugly today.
