- 1:09Speaker 2: Way to go, Big Ten, Big 12, SEC, doing something
- 1:13Speaker 2: the WNBA could not. Make a decision. Just get up
- 1:17Speaker 2: there and make a decision. Thank you. We'll talk about that. NFL, pros,
- 1:24Speaker 2: college is now mandated that you can't come back if
- 1:28Speaker 2: you leave. One question right off the bat before I
- 1:31Speaker 2: even introduce my staff today. Guys, if you have an
- 1:36Speaker 2: extra napkin, I think I put a third napkin with
- 1:41Speaker 2: your biscuit. Wasn't that biscuit so much better than that waffle?
- 1:46Speaker 2: I've been talking about that waffle sandwich all week. They're
- 1:49Speaker 2: advertising it now.
- 1:51Speaker 7: It's on tv now and you can get it all
- 1:52Speaker 7: day and when i saw it i was like i
- 1:57Speaker 7: wish i could comment like you do on social media
- 2:00Speaker 7: on this commercial.
- 2:00Speaker 8: I'd be like y'all lying i thought i knew i
- 2:03Speaker 8: was gonna come in i was gonna have one but
- 2:04Speaker 8: you know hey i was happy with what i.
- 2:06Speaker 2: I'm not like you that's your pet no no one
- 2:09Speaker 2: is yeah no one is why would i bring you
- 2:12Speaker 2: something i think was nasty i told you i liked Okay,
- 2:15Speaker 2: that's you. I mentioned. You should give me $ 5 so
- 2:18Speaker 2: I can make sure to bring you one. I mentioned.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Because I was buying. I thought when I was buying.
- 2:22Speaker 2: That's why I said I'm not saying that. I'm one
- 2:24Speaker 2: of them people. I'm going to shut up. I'm going
- 2:26Speaker 2: to shut up. If I'm buying a pizza, we having
- 2:29Speaker 2: the kind of pizza I like. It makes sense to me.
- 2:31Speaker 2: No complaints. So if you don't like jalapeno, you might
- 2:34Speaker 2: need to chip in. No complaints.
- 2:36Speaker 7: You say you like meat lover pizza. Well, I'm doing
- 2:40Speaker 7: vegetarian thing over here.
- 2:42Speaker 2: I hope you own some mushroom, onion, and tomato. I'm
- 2:46Speaker 2: on it. But just write down, write your name on top,
- 2:52Speaker 2: your code name, whatever you're going by today, Comanche. I
- 2:58Speaker 2: know you got several names based on which county you're in.
- 3:02Speaker 2: But we all got separate identities in different counties. Am
- 3:06Speaker 2: I right? Up top. Up top. One time. One time.
- 3:10Speaker 2: But would you let him? We'll talk about this in
- 3:14Speaker 2: Big Kenny, Bad Producer. Make sure you stay online for
- 3:16Speaker 2: those that may answer. Would you let someone die somewhere
- 3:28Speaker 2: for a billion dollars? Yes. Or when you get that, well,
- 3:35Speaker 2: you don't know. Is it like a button situation? No,
- 3:39Speaker 2: for you to get through. We're just in the locker room.
- 3:43Speaker 2: We don't get this deep. We don't have a long
- 3:45Speaker 2: day in training camp. Guys just sitting around. We ain't
- 3:50Speaker 2: got no other. So we play the what if game.
- 3:53Speaker 2: To get a billion dollars. Knowing when you get this billion,
- 3:59Speaker 2: somebody is going crazy. to die because you got the billion.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Would you accept? Yes or no? Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. Yes,
- 4:14Speaker 2: you can. Okay. Can he already in? They have a
- 4:17Speaker 2: deuce over there deliberating. Comanche Greg, you know, he's a
- 4:20Speaker 2: tech guy, so he doesn't have a pen. He doesn't
- 4:23Speaker 2: do regular life. He don't do analog nothing. He don't write.
- 4:28Speaker 2: He don't speak. Anything that cannot be electronically sent, he
- 4:34Speaker 2: is not with it. He don't even have a pen. Boy,
- 4:38Speaker 2: that's real technology. He can't even. Write down, so there
- 4:42Speaker 2: we go. What are we writing? I'm just speaking to
- 4:44Speaker 2: my phone. And some people are, especially, listen to the young,
- 4:48Speaker 2: Ear Hustle with young people, some of them are forgetting
- 4:50Speaker 2: how to even write their name. Oh, they can't even
- 4:54Speaker 2: read cursive. Things like that. It's fading because they never
- 4:57Speaker 2: really built the memory. They can't, they never... Learn to write.
- 5:00Speaker 2: There's a lot of them that can't read cursive. They
- 5:03Speaker 2: type like hell, though. You see what I'm saying? Maybe
- 5:07Speaker 2: typing at three years old, you'd be like, that's 236
- 5:09Speaker 2: words a minute. Guys, right off the top, especially with
- 5:16Speaker 2: the meta situation, social media. Y'all decided that you was
- 5:22Speaker 2: going to gang up on meta. Big Kenny, Comanche, Greg,
- 5:25Speaker 2: Bad Producer, all in the studio today. We talked about
- 5:29Speaker 2: the meta glasses. You know how I feel like that.
- 5:32Speaker 2: At least they should be kind of like money. You
- 5:37Speaker 2: got to come in a color. They should be identified.
- 5:40Speaker 2: I should know that the spectacles that Comanche Greg has
- 5:45Speaker 2: on right now, I should know. Because right now I'm
- 5:48Speaker 2: sitting here, I don't know if those are meta glasses
- 5:50Speaker 2: or not. I should know. However they make it. Like they...
- 5:56Speaker 2: Make with money.
- 5:56Speaker 7: Yeah, they got security strips. They got watermarks. They have
- 6:00Speaker 7: all of these identity, with safety vests. They are now
- 6:04Speaker 7: a standard color, neon green and orange.
- 6:10Speaker 2: That's it. That's the only way you can get it.
- 6:13Speaker 7: Neon green and orange, unless you work in Europe and
- 6:16Speaker 7: it's neon green and light blue.
- 6:20Speaker 2: But we blame social media for addiction.
- 6:24Speaker 9: Mm-hmm.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Big settlement, close to $ 18 billion they're going to pay
- 6:28Speaker 2: out over the next 10 years, not just to individuals
- 6:32Speaker 2: but to different states to just try to function and
- 6:35Speaker 2: set up different programs to limit young people's ability, 18
- 6:44Speaker 2: and under, to be on social media longer than two hours.
- 6:50Speaker 2: I remember the story right off the top of my head.
- 6:55Speaker 2: I think it's clear what stance I have on social
- 6:58Speaker 2: media because I'm old enough to remember and know life
- 7:04Speaker 2: did exist. A full life. The 90s was radical. I mean,
- 7:14Speaker 2: had so much fun in the 90s. It don't float
- 7:17Speaker 2: at me to 2026. I'm talking about just the max headroom.
- 7:21Speaker 2: With no social media. None of that. Just NWA in
- 7:25Speaker 2: the trap. So I would start off, you know, right,
- 7:28Speaker 2: just off the top, just guys, we relax, we're friends.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Why can't we give it up? Why can't you give
- 7:37Speaker 2: up social media? Why can't you take yourself out and
- 7:41Speaker 2: leave it alone, Bad Badoos? Why can't you just right
- 7:46Speaker 2: now go in your phone, go in your computer, and
- 7:50Speaker 2: just remove yourself? Because I'm an example. So that's the
- 7:56Speaker 2: thing I love, Big Kenny, when I can be an example.
- 7:59Speaker 2: I'm an example to people when they say you can't
- 8:01Speaker 2: have fun without drinking. That's a lie. I've lived a
- 8:06Speaker 2: whole life. You ain't have any more fun than me
- 8:11Speaker 2: at this party. Because you had alcohol. You didn't laugh
- 8:16Speaker 2: at that joke no harder than I did. I was
- 8:18Speaker 2: over there bawling, crying. At that joke. At that joke.
- 8:22Speaker 2: I'm talking about stomach, so tired, like, man. And completely soaked.
- 8:26Speaker 2: We need to leave. That's just too much laughter. Completely soaked.
- 8:31Speaker 2: So when people try to throw that, so I feel
- 8:33Speaker 2: like I'm a beacon of that you can live a
- 8:35Speaker 2: life without social media. Why can't you right now? remove
- 8:40Speaker 2: yourself from something that we have. Things are just coming
- 8:44Speaker 2: out where it just does harm to be a part of.
- 8:48Speaker 2: He's not stuck. I can leave it right now.
- 8:55Speaker 8: I can leave it right now, but you don't, the
- 9:00Speaker 8: things that's good about it, that's what you would miss.
- 9:04Speaker 8: There's some good things about social media and the internet,
- 9:07Speaker 8: but The bad things what make you just want to leave.
- 9:11Speaker 8: I mean, the things where people are constantly trying to
- 9:14Speaker 8: convince you and change your mind or sway you.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Then why can't you leave it?
- 9:19Speaker 8: And then where it's supposed to be for blanks and giggles.
- 9:23Speaker 2: That's what I said. Because you said, but. You said
- 9:24Speaker 2: three words, and then you said, but. And after but,
- 9:28Speaker 2: you said 100 words. You said, I can leave it, but.
- 9:34Speaker 2: And then you gave me a whole Stephen King novel.
- 9:39Speaker 2: But you ain't say nothing but I can leave it
- 9:44Speaker 2: before that. So why don't you leave? He's not stuck.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Every once again, he's not stuck. The frame is not stuck.
- 9:56Speaker 2: He's pausing like the frame is. At least blink your
- 10:01Speaker 2: eyes and let them know. They think it's buffering, and
- 10:03Speaker 2: it's not. That's him in real life time. Hey, relax.
- 10:07Speaker 2: He's formulating that thought. Taking time. No, seriously.
- 10:12Speaker 8: If all the bad things wasn't about it, I mean,
- 10:17Speaker 8: if it hadn't.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Turned, I don't know. It's just hard.
- 10:22Speaker 8: I mean, not to say to leave it, but I mean,
- 10:25Speaker 8: you will miss some of the good things. Like I said,
- 10:27Speaker 8: there's a lot of information. So you're telling me I'm
- 10:30Speaker 8: missing some things that I need in my life? A
- 10:35Speaker 8: lot of, it's some great things. Like you could see
- 10:37Speaker 8: some family moments of people you haven't, friends that you
- 10:41Speaker 8: haven't seen in a while that you probably went to
- 10:43Speaker 8: college with.
- 10:44Speaker 2: If they're showing a moment with their- I can call them.
- 10:47Speaker 8: Nah, but you, I'm talking about the ones that you,
- 10:50Speaker 8: saw that you may have didn't have, just like, hey,
- 10:53Speaker 8: what's up?
- 10:53Speaker 2: How you doing? Why do I want to look up
- 10:54Speaker 2: somebody I didn't have a relationship with? I didn't say
- 10:56Speaker 2: you don't look up.
- 10:56Speaker 8: They may be friends or six degree of separation of
- 10:59Speaker 8: you and someone else.
- 11:00Speaker 2: And then you say, oh, I remember that guy. I'm proud.
- 11:03Speaker 2: I'm glad he's SWAT team. So I need to be
- 11:05Speaker 2: on social media to see some people I don't really
- 11:08Speaker 2: hang out with.
- 11:09Speaker 8: No, you see, you take it to where I don't
- 11:12Speaker 8: want to. Is that not what he said?
- 11:14Speaker 2: It's sort of what he's alluding to. And we've got
- 11:16Speaker 2: a couple of comments. Already? We all got them? Okay, okay.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Because I was getting around to Comanche Greg because he
- 11:22Speaker 2: over there plotting his thought. He got it probably written.
- 11:24Speaker 2: He got his standard written on there for this question.
- 11:27Speaker 2: He didn't write it. He pulled it up.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. He got it.
- 11:31Speaker 10: Yes.
- 11:31Speaker 2: I used the notes app. I used the notes app.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:34Speaker 2: I don't even know what that means. The notes app. It's...
- 11:38Speaker 2: Don't worry about it. It'll be all right. It'll be
- 11:40Speaker 2: all right. I'm saying there ain't no need to start now.
- 11:42Speaker 2: There ain't no need to get involved. Go ahead, Kim.
- 11:44Speaker 2: What was you saying? Hold on. We got to go
- 11:46Speaker 2: to break. We're going to come back right after this.
- 11:48Speaker 2: More of the Sports Talk show. Social media under attack.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Not just in this week. We've got stories of people
- 11:54Speaker 2: getting fired or making comments about the L.A. Sparks player
- 11:59Speaker 2: Hambly or what is her name? Hamby. Derricka Hamby. That
- 12:06Speaker 2: someone at their job, I think all the way in Connecticut.
- 12:10Speaker 2: They don't even live in the L.A. area. They just
- 12:12Speaker 2: saw the game, had a comment. People losing, and we've
- 12:15Speaker 2: had millions of stories of people losing their job from
- 12:18Speaker 2: social media. We'll be back. More of the Sports Chalk
- 12:20Speaker 2: Show right after this.
- 12:22Speaker 4: Because I'm a.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Very freaky girl.
- 12:24Speaker 11: Get it from my mama.
- 12:25Speaker 12: I'm not with the gang.
- 12:27Speaker 2: I'm without a drama.
- 12:28Speaker 4: Make them give me, give me, then the first.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Don't go away.
- 12:33Speaker 6: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamby is

- 13:38Speaker 14: Talking about guns with others might not always feel comfortable,
- 13:41Speaker 14: but it could save a life. Here's a way to
- 13:43Speaker 14: start a conversation. Your family is going over to your
- 13:46Speaker 14: neighbor's home for dinner for the first time. How would
- 13:49Speaker 14: you ask if there are any unlocked guns in the home?
- 13:51Speaker 2: Hey.
- 13:51Speaker 15: Hey, we're so excited for tonight. Before we come over, though,
- 13:55Speaker 15: may I ask if there are any unlocked guns in
- 13:57Speaker 15: your home?
- 13:58Speaker 11: Our guns are stored securely, locked in a safe that
- 14:00Speaker 11: the kids can't access.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Awesome.
- 14:03Speaker 14: Learn how to have the conversation at agree2agree. org. Brought to
- 14:07Speaker 14: you by the Ad Council.
- 14:09Speaker 16: Don't act like that. Don't wear that. Don't think that.
- 14:13Speaker 16: I've heard everything you tell yourself every time you felt different.
- 14:17Speaker 16: And I want you to know that you can be
- 14:20Speaker 16: vulnerable and powerful, that taking care of your mind is
- 14:25Speaker 16: taking care of everyone you love and who loves you.
- 14:30Speaker 16: Love your mind. Find mental health resources at loveyourmindtoday.org. Brought
- 14:36Speaker 16: to you by the Huntsman Mental Health Institute and the

- 14:50Speaker 13: you deserve at a price you can afford. Now, it's
- 14:54Speaker 13: time to present the Jock of the Day on the
- 14:56Speaker 13: Sports Jock Show.
- 14:57Speaker 4: He's taken it to a completely different level this year.
- 15:00Speaker 13: Where we highlight an athlete that has taken their game
- 15:03Speaker 13: to the next level.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Where you live, yeah, like that. One. Welcome back to
- 15:31Speaker 2: the Sports Talk Show. I'm the Sports Talk Wayne Candy.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Good morning to you out there in listening land. Glad
- 15:36Speaker 2: to be here with you today. I want to say
- 15:39Speaker 2: it's going to be the last round of preseason games.
- 15:43Speaker 2: You know, if you forgot, the NFL moved away about three,
- 15:48Speaker 2: four years ago from the four preseason games, moved to
- 15:51Speaker 2: the three, and added one of the games because capitalism
- 15:56Speaker 2: is real. Just in case you forget that sometimes. And
- 16:01Speaker 2: made it a real game to make it a 17.
- 16:04Speaker 2: So kept the same 20 for preseason 16 regular. Decided
- 16:08Speaker 2: to make one of the preseasons a real game and
- 16:11Speaker 2: take a whole week off. So after tonight, two weeks
- 16:15Speaker 2: from today will be the official kickoff of the NFL season.
- 16:23Speaker 2: This weekend is what they call week 1A. Or for
- 16:29Speaker 2: some of you, week zero. If you remember last year's format,
- 16:34Speaker 2: that's the thing. As I asked the guys, I'm still
- 16:37Speaker 2: waiting on my Comanche Greg, my modern day green book.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Y'all be having rules that I didn't get. I didn't
- 16:45Speaker 2: get the memo. And I'm okay not getting the memo.
- 16:48Speaker 2: I didn't either. There is no memo. That's what I'm saying. Because,
- 16:52Speaker 2: I mean, now, I used to get them. I get
- 16:54Speaker 2: the memo. And there was no memo.
- 16:55Speaker 8: We attempted to update the green book, but it's just
- 16:58Speaker 8: two moves too quick.
- 17:00Speaker 2: We did not. So nobody got one of you. No, no.
- 17:04Speaker 7: We did not attempt to update a green book. Listen,
- 17:08Speaker 7: you got a lot of things people don't have, sir.
- 17:11Speaker 7: I'm saying you having a green book don't surprise nobody
- 17:15Speaker 7: here or people listening. that you have a green book
- 17:18Speaker 7: because of the one of these things is.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Not like the other. It's always you. We left talking
- 17:25Speaker 2: about social media, why people can't seem to plug over
- 17:29Speaker 2: the last couple of weeks. They can't pull out of it.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Meta and other, I think another company also have been found.
- 17:38Speaker 2: They were sued by a couple of states. have settled
- 17:42Speaker 2: on 17 point some kind of billion that they're going
- 17:47Speaker 2: to pay over a 10-year period to set up different foundations,
- 17:52Speaker 2: to settle with states to help police. Social media basically
- 17:59Speaker 2: put rules and restrictions for accounts 18 and under that
- 18:03Speaker 2: you can only watch, I think, I have to pull
- 18:06Speaker 2: up the article, I think they said two hours or
- 18:09Speaker 2: less in a 24-hour period. My parents saying that they
- 18:15Speaker 2: intentionally made social media addictive. Intentionally. I don't know how,
- 18:25Speaker 2: because get all that, you need some money. So if
- 18:30Speaker 2: you're under 18, you usually don't have no job. And
- 18:34Speaker 2: typically when I'm at the dinner table in the restaurant,
- 18:37Speaker 2: the parent is handing me the computer, or the game
- 18:43Speaker 2: to the kid. So the kid didn't walk in with it.
- 18:46Speaker 17: No.
- 18:46Speaker 7: We need to manage you so I can live my
- 18:48Speaker 7: life while you being distracted.
- 18:52Speaker 2: The three-year-old. The three-year-old, the iPad. That's what I'm saying.
- 18:55Speaker 2: It's the three-year-old.
- 18:56Speaker 8: They just got to get the timing right now. You
- 18:59Speaker 8: got two hours.
- 19:00Speaker 7: The three-year-old has an iPad because it's way cheaper than
- 19:05Speaker 7: a babysitter per hour. I can spend the $ 1, 200 on
- 19:08Speaker 7: the iPad and keep you busy indefinitely. This babysitter got
- 19:13Speaker 7: to have a lunch. She got bathroom breaks. She may
- 19:17Speaker 7: need me to hold a baby sometime. I don't need
- 19:20Speaker 7: that in my life. I need my baby focused. This
- 19:23Speaker 7: baby will go to the bathroom on itself and not move.
- 19:27Speaker 7: And from some of what we're seeing here, some interesting comments,
- 19:31Speaker 7: Sports Jock.
- 19:32Speaker 2: We were talking about unplugging. The bad producer can't. He
- 19:37Speaker 2: says he can't. He stumbled through it, but basically he's
- 19:39Speaker 2: saying he can't really pull himself out of social media.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Whatever part he's saying is good, putting under the umbrella
- 19:47Speaker 2: of good. Some of it's good. Which probably is just
- 19:51Speaker 2: seeing some woman he thirsts after in a bikini. Yeah.
- 19:57Speaker 2: You know. No, sir. From his graduation class. But no, no, no,
- 20:01Speaker 2: but no, sir. You heard the creepiness, didn't you? Didn't
- 20:03Speaker 2: you hear? But Big Kenny, we got some comments. Let's
- 20:05Speaker 2: hear it. I got some back up.
- 20:07Speaker 7: Definitely jumped on early. Elder Casey Lamar Huey Sr. said,
- 20:13Speaker 7: because it just be calling me and calling me. That's
- 20:16Speaker 7: a legendary line from Pookie from New Jack City. It
- 20:20Speaker 7: be calling me. And he said, it hits different when
- 20:22Speaker 7: something is attached to your soul. Capital letters and quotations
- 20:26Speaker 7: like a woman in an abusive relationship. In the words
- 20:29Speaker 7: of Rick James, cocaine is a hell of a drug.
- 20:31Speaker 7: And I replied, hence addiction. People have equated it. To
- 20:36Speaker 7: a drug addiction. And then we had Nikki Kemp say,
- 20:41Speaker 7: I get what you're trying to say, Bad Producer.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 20:43Speaker 7: There is some good to social media. Now, to Nikki
- 20:46Speaker 7: and to the Bad Producer, I would say all the
- 20:48Speaker 7: good stuff that they say in social media is available
- 20:51Speaker 7: in your life at home without social media.
- 20:54Speaker 2: You can find all of that stuff.
- 20:56Speaker 7: I know people, you and I got a line, brother.
- 20:59Speaker 2: And another chapter, bro, ain't never been on social media.
- 21:04Speaker 10: Ever.
- 21:04Speaker 7: And they live very full lives. They officers and organizations.
- 21:08Speaker 7: They travel. They do all kinds of things. And then
- 21:13Speaker 7: Elder Casey said, what people don't really want to admit
- 21:16Speaker 7: is that the flesh is something serious. Pleasure and glorification
- 21:21Speaker 7: are two dangerous things. And then Uncle Charlie said, I
- 21:24Speaker 7: hope that billion dollar figure do not corrupt the sports
- 21:27Speaker 7: jock panel.
- 21:28Speaker 2: It's great to be alive. Good morning. Comanche Greg, can
- 21:32Speaker 2: you unplug? Can you remove yourself? Can you remember the
- 21:37Speaker 2: Comanche Greg before social media? Do you remember that guy? Yeah,
- 21:43Speaker 2: I remember that guy. It looked like you had to. Okay.
- 21:45Speaker 2: When was that?
- 21:46Speaker 18: I'm trying to go back to, well, not like you,
- 21:50Speaker 18: but I have to go back to high school, really.
- 21:55Speaker 18: That was a pre-social media era.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Era.
- 22:00Speaker 18: So, I mean, I've been on there long enough. I
- 22:04Speaker 18: had a Black Planet account. I had a MySpace.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Wow. I don't know what Black Planet is. I've heard
- 22:13Speaker 2: of MySpace, but I don't know what Black Planet is.
- 22:15Speaker 2: I didn't have a Black Planet or a MySpace, so
- 22:17Speaker 2: I'm not addicted to it. We let you talk, and
- 22:21Speaker 2: you said nothing. But he said the MySpace. Now you
- 22:24Speaker 2: want to over-talk everybody else. That don't mean.
- 22:27Speaker 18: at a certain time for me going into this, going
- 22:30Speaker 18: into college, I had a black planet in my space.
- 22:33Speaker 18: And that was really how, uh, our, me and my
- 22:38Speaker 18: friends like communicated was through social media. So that's been
- 22:42Speaker 18: a major part of it for me. So it would
- 22:43Speaker 18: be hard to unplug from that because yeah, that is
- 22:47Speaker 18: how I keep in touch with a lot of people.
- 22:49Speaker 18: You know, I'm not a, um, I'm not a person
- 22:54Speaker 18: who goes to bars or lounges or anything like that.
- 22:58Speaker 18: So how I connect to the outside world is not
- 23:04Speaker 18: solely through social media, but it's a major part of
- 23:07Speaker 18: it because, you know, I got friends that live, you know,
- 23:09Speaker 18: all around the world.
- 23:10Speaker 2: We'll be back. Big Kenny, we'll get you on the
- 23:12Speaker 2: other side of the break. We also want to talk
- 23:14Speaker 2: about the NCAA basically banning guys from coming back from
- 23:19Speaker 2: any pro sports, or at least they said three. Like
- 23:23Speaker 2: they're the only three. I didn't see Major League Baseball
- 23:26Speaker 2: on there. The Big 12 said all sports, but I
- 23:29Speaker 2: know the SEC and Big 10 didn't say baseball, which
- 23:34Speaker 2: was interesting. They just said WNBA, NBA, and NFL. We'll
- 23:41Speaker 2: talk about the situation down in LSU, Ukraine versus Russia.
- 23:46Speaker 2: The Sky Band in his canter. We'll get back to
- 23:49Speaker 2: the billion-dollar question as well. Would you let someone die
- 23:56Speaker 2: somewhere for a billion dollars? That and much more when
- 23:59Speaker 2: we get back.
- 24:00Speaker 15: Don't go away.
- 24:02Speaker 2: More of the Sports Jot Show with Wayne Gambias coming
- 24:04Speaker 2: up next. As veterans, we're no strangers to helping others.
- 24:20Speaker 5: That's what we were taught, service before self.
- 24:22Speaker 2: But we do have one question for the veterans listening.
- 24:26Speaker 2: When was the last time you reached out for help?
- 24:30Speaker 14: If you or someone you know needs resources, whether it's
- 24:33Speaker 14: for stress, finances, employment, or mental.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Health, don't wait. Reach out.

- 26:31Speaker 2: Jump in the shower and the blood starts pumping Out
- 26:36Speaker 2: on the streets the traffic starts jumping With folks like
- 26:40Speaker 2: me on.
- 26:40Speaker 9: The job from nine to five.
- 27:00Speaker 4: Working nine to five.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Take me out to rapper. Slap me against the wall.
- 27:05Speaker 2: I'm here all day like Lotto in the fall.
- 27:09Speaker 7: Hitting them in the face because they is my ops.
- 27:13Speaker 7: Spin the block again.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Make sure everybody drops. Hey, that's going to be the remix.
- 27:18Speaker 2: I'm telling you. That's going to be the remix. Somebody
- 27:19Speaker 2: going to take nine to five. Working nine to five. Don't, don't, don't, don't.
- 27:22Speaker 2: It's going to be, you know, like Lady Marmalade. They're
- 27:25Speaker 2: going to take nine to five. Don't, don't, don't, don't. Lotto, Glow, Rilla.
- 27:29Speaker 2: If I find someone who's already sampled it, we're going
- 27:33Speaker 2: to play it on the show. I feel like it's
- 27:35Speaker 2: already happened. The legend of Dolly Parton passing away over
- 27:41Speaker 2: the last couple of days. A lot of people having
- 27:45Speaker 2: some input on Dolly. It was great to see Dolly
- 27:50Speaker 2: be able to breathe big life in a great career,
- 27:54Speaker 2: even late. being able to connect with some of the
- 27:58Speaker 2: young superstars in music and really showcase that music never
- 28:05Speaker 2: dies as long as you have the strength to perform
- 28:09Speaker 2: and sing it. And all the other people that was
- 28:12Speaker 2: still waiting on Dolly at 78 to sound like she
- 28:16Speaker 2: did when she was 26, you know, it's okay. Throw
- 28:20Speaker 2: some milk in your face this morning. You know, that
- 28:23Speaker 2: kind of thing. Because, you know, you'd be sitting there,
- 28:25Speaker 2: Dolly don't sound good. Like she used to. I bet
- 28:28Speaker 2: she don't. 80 years old. Now, this is something.
- 28:32Speaker 7: I think that the two, we're talking about social media
- 28:35Speaker 7: and the proliferation of information and all of that. I
- 28:38Speaker 7: think in the media business, one of the ills of
- 28:42Speaker 7: social media is people telling business that ain't theirs. Just
- 28:47Speaker 7: volunteering other people's business. Two of the most proficient people publicists,
- 28:53Speaker 7: publicizing machines in the country as far as entertainment is
- 28:57Speaker 7: concerned have to be Jamie Foxx and Dolly Parton. Jamie
- 29:00Speaker 7: Foxx was on stage doing a special when we learned
- 29:04Speaker 7: that he had had a stroke. That wasn't something that
- 29:08Speaker 7: came out on social media. TMZ never knew. Everybody just
- 29:11Speaker 7: knew Jamie wasn't well and they were getting him better.
- 29:15Speaker 7: It was not until yesterday that Dolly Parton's family released
- 29:19Speaker 7: the information that she passed away from cancer.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Nobody knew that.
- 29:24Speaker 7: They kept that to themselves because there was for them
- 29:29Speaker 7: no benefit in releasing that to the public. And I
- 29:32Speaker 7: commend them for that. In a world where people rush
- 29:35Speaker 7: to get a story out, these people kept their dignity
- 29:38Speaker 7: all the way to themselves.
- 29:40Speaker 2: End and that's what i think uh even on the
- 29:42Speaker 2: last show bryson del chambo uh when he called the
- 29:45Speaker 2: media the mafia i think what he's really saying is
- 29:49Speaker 2: that you can't tell the difference between what is supposed
- 29:53Speaker 2: to be journalism and social media or hit piece. I
- 29:59Speaker 2: don't know. I don't know which one it is. There
- 30:01Speaker 2: used to be this divide that lets you know that
- 30:03Speaker 2: the wall street journal and the national inquire were two
- 30:07Speaker 2: different magazines.
- 30:09Speaker 7: And one was to be taken seriously.
- 30:11Speaker 2: And the other one was really figure out what it is.
- 30:14Speaker 2: And that really kind of lands on the doorstep of
- 30:17Speaker 2: what we're talking about right off the top of the show, uh,
- 30:20Speaker 2: with social media, uh, Comanche Greg basically says, basically in
- 30:24Speaker 2: a nutshell, if I was saying it to somebody, Comanche
- 30:27Speaker 2: Greg has built a life through social media. So it's
- 30:33Speaker 2: hard for him to even count back when it wasn't
- 30:36Speaker 2: a part of his life. The Bad Producer, being a
- 30:39Speaker 2: little older, just is addicted to social media. He probably
- 30:45Speaker 2: couldn't exist anymore with it. His life would crumble from it.
- 30:51Speaker 14: No.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Big Kenny, you said we had a couple more comments
- 30:53Speaker 2: before you weigh in about why can't you, why can't
- 30:57Speaker 2: people seem to unplug? Because as some things might have
- 31:01Speaker 2: started off, like cocaine, 100 years ago, cocaine was used
- 31:08Speaker 2: in the medical field. In operating. In operating. Until they
- 31:12Speaker 2: realized that once the person got their shoulder fixed, now they... addicts.
- 31:21Speaker 2: They didn't know that. Now they're using that same shoulder
- 31:27Speaker 2: to choke people out and take money from them on
- 31:29Speaker 2: the street. And they realized they had to stop giving
- 31:31Speaker 2: cocaine out to people because it had started making them addicts.
- 31:36Speaker 2: You said we had a couple more comments online.
- 31:38Speaker 7: The one that the bad producer specifically wants me to
- 31:41Speaker 7: read is from Nikki Kemp again, and she said, I
- 31:43Speaker 7: can't view this show without social media. And he wanted
- 31:47Speaker 7: me to Say that because that's the sun that was
- 31:50Speaker 7: shining on the dog's bottom that he was talking about.
- 31:53Speaker 2: Well, I would say that if there was no social media,
- 31:55Speaker 2: you still would be able to view this show because
- 31:58Speaker 2: we would put it on whatever view the show, whatever
- 32:01Speaker 2: that is out there that would show it.
- 32:05Speaker 7: Casey Lamar Huey also says people can't go to the
- 32:08Speaker 7: bathroom without taking their phones to stay connected. I know
- 32:10Speaker 7: people who profess that their legs fall asleep while they
- 32:15Speaker 7: sit on the toilet and scroll. And to me, that
- 32:18Speaker 7: sounds like it was actually used in Coca-Cola. Yeah, cocaine was. Now,
- 32:22Speaker 7: sports jock for me. I think people can get off
- 32:28Speaker 7: social media. They just don't want to. Everybody wants to
- 32:32Speaker 7: fit in. And then when you find your fit, you're
- 32:35Speaker 7: hoping that you stand out in that place where you fit.
- 32:39Speaker 7: Social media is where people find their tribes. You ain't
- 32:42Speaker 7: got to go looking for the people that like to
- 32:44Speaker 7: wear black lipstick and eyeliner.
- 32:46Speaker 2: In the streets no more.
- 32:47Speaker 7: You just type that into your search engine and they'll
- 32:50Speaker 7: take you to the people on social media and that's
- 32:52Speaker 7: all you got to do. You can build your life.
- 32:55Speaker 7: You can expand your horizons through social media. The good
- 32:58Speaker 7: stuff that he talks about that's on social media that
- 33:01Speaker 7: Nikki Kemp mentioned, again, you can get that in your
- 33:03Speaker 7: real life.
- 33:04Speaker 2: Just call the people.
- 33:05Speaker 7: If I ain't seen you in 15 years, chances are
- 33:08Speaker 7: I don't mess with you like that.
- 33:09Speaker 2: No way. So seeing you on Facebook, I don't get
- 33:13Speaker 2: me the same feeling as seeing you anywhere else. Hey,
- 33:15Speaker 2: what's up, partner? How you been? All right. Catch yourself later.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Be good. That kind of thing.
- 33:22Speaker 7: For me, I can get off social media, but social
- 33:26Speaker 7: media and my personality.
- 33:31Speaker 19: Are.
- 33:34Speaker 2: We have a. beneficial relationship.
- 33:37Speaker 7: I manipulate social media to my benefit for exposure or
- 33:46Speaker 7: advertisement to generate money. My pages are monetized. I go
- 33:52Speaker 7: on those pages. I create content. I get paid for that.
- 33:56Speaker 7: I only go on the page to create the content.
- 33:59Speaker 7: Once the content is posted, I go back to maintain
- 34:02Speaker 7: the page. I know the times to post. I know
- 34:05Speaker 7: the days. I manipulate the algorithm to make more money
- 34:09Speaker 7: because I recognize it's something that people use for manipulation
- 34:14Speaker 7: and benefit.
- 34:16Speaker 2: That's it. And to go back to the bad producer,
- 34:19Speaker 2: whenever this conversation comes up, people always use that example
- 34:23Speaker 2: of being able to see other people's lives. I have
- 34:27Speaker 2: no interest. and peeking in on your life if I'm
- 34:32Speaker 2: not in a direct conversation with you, a real-time friendship.
- 34:41Speaker 2: So whatever's going on in my hometown growing up, classmates,
- 34:47Speaker 2: college classmates, if the one or two that I talk to,
- 34:51Speaker 2: but I talk to them, they would send me a
- 34:54Speaker 2: picture of something I might, their kid at graduation. I
- 34:58Speaker 2: don't need to peek into their life, and I'm not
- 35:01Speaker 2: worried about the four offensive linemen that I were not
- 35:04Speaker 2: friends with. What's Jason Robit doing now? Let me check
- 35:11Speaker 2: out who. I text Big Will or call Big Will. Hey, man,
- 35:14Speaker 2: I heard you had surgery, Willie Anderson. I heard you
- 35:19Speaker 2: had to get a surgery because I text those people.
- 35:24Speaker 2: So when people try to use that as an example
- 35:26Speaker 2: to me, it's like, but why do I want to
- 35:29Speaker 2: see what Stan White, my college quarterback, is doing and
- 35:35Speaker 2: don't talk to Stan? And then call Stan or contact
- 35:44Speaker 2: him based on some, yeah. This is the.
- 35:48Speaker 7: Other part about it. There are a lot of people
- 35:50Speaker 7: who be having great days in their regular life. until
- 35:53Speaker 7: somebody's sending them a link on social media. And it's
- 35:56Speaker 7: an incendiary, hateful post. And now your spirit all out
- 36:01Speaker 7: of alignment because somebody drug you into that on social media.
- 36:05Speaker 8: And I was going to say, you do have people
- 36:07Speaker 8: who create these social media accounts. And if I'm staying correct,
- 36:12Speaker 8: they're not active on their social media page, but they
- 36:16Speaker 8: got it just to look, view, and to go in
- 36:19Speaker 8: and be noticed, just to see.
- 36:21Speaker 7: Well, those same people peek out their window when they
- 36:24Speaker 7: hear noises outside.
- 36:25Speaker 2: Those same people gossip.
- 36:26Speaker 8: You have those type of people that you can, like,
- 36:28Speaker 8: they set up in 2012, set it up, and they
- 36:32Speaker 8: might have posted 10 times since 2012. But they know
- 36:36Speaker 8: everything that's going on that happened on Facebook or Instagram.
- 36:40Speaker 2: And to me, that's dysfunctional. That's what I'm saying.
- 36:42Speaker 7: So you got those type of people like that, too.
- 36:45Speaker 7: Those people are voyeurs just wanting to peer.
- 36:47Speaker 2: I call them those. at people's lives rather than participate.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Cause you don't say thank you. You don't check. They
- 36:53Speaker 2: don't like, they don't do anything. All they do.
- 36:56Speaker 7: But then if you see them out, they know everything.
- 36:58Speaker 7: When you're on your phone, where are you usually on
- 37:01Speaker 7: your phone? You're not behind the wheel. Chances are you're
- 37:04Speaker 7: not out in public because that's the distraction that can
- 37:07Speaker 7: get you hurt. Most people do the majority of their
- 37:09Speaker 7: scrolling from home. So if you're watching my life all day,
- 37:13Speaker 7: you're not actually living your life. is my thing with
- 37:16Speaker 7: social media. There are some people whose entire interaction with
- 37:20Speaker 7: humans comes from the screen. And you can have both.
- 37:25Speaker 7: You can mix the two. One doesn't have to take
- 37:27Speaker 7: over your life. It's just, and that's what I'm saying,
- 37:32Speaker 7: for people to get to the point where they can't
- 37:34Speaker 7: put their phones down. I've watched parents ignore their children.
- 37:39Speaker 2: And we'll be back with more of the Sports Jock
- 37:40Speaker 2: Show right after this. Don't go away.
- 37:46Speaker 8: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gambias coming
- 37:49Speaker 8: up next.
- 37:49Speaker 2: Cats are masters at using.
- 37:51Speaker 8: Up their nine lives, like chasing laser pointers into walls
- 37:54Speaker 8: or jumping onto high shelves.
- 38:15Speaker 2: But the one thing cats never do, text while driving.
- 38:19Speaker 4: So be like a cat and protect your one and

- 40:19Speaker 2: Wayne Gandy. It's Wayne Gandy.
- 40:29Speaker 21: Oh, log on so you can see the sports J-O-C
- 40:34Speaker 21: even bigger.
- 40:37Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Sports Shock Show. I'm the Sports Shock,
- 40:40Speaker 2: Wayne Candy. Good morning to you. We're going to flip
- 40:43Speaker 2: the page. Social media is something we could spend a
- 40:46Speaker 2: whole show on social media in the rest of the year.
- 40:49Speaker 2: When you talk about it's pros, it's cons. When I
- 40:54Speaker 2: ask for the pros, I get very little. It's always
- 40:59Speaker 2: something about looking into somebody's life. I guess I'm just
- 41:02Speaker 2: not a nosy person. And I like more detail to
- 41:07Speaker 2: my story. I'm okay waiting a beat than you just
- 41:12Speaker 2: telling me Cam Newton on the side of the road.
- 41:14Speaker 2: I can wait till tomorrow where you get more information.
- 41:18Speaker 2: I don't really need it right now like that. Really don't. Yeah,
- 41:24Speaker 2: I want the disaster right now. There is someone who
- 41:29Speaker 2: does and I don't know who they are. I can't
- 41:32Speaker 2: associate with them, but No. Someone needs that information right now.
- 41:36Speaker 7: Well, you have to understand, if those people didn't exist,
- 41:39Speaker 7: we wouldn't have a TMZ. We wouldn't have a National Enquirer.
- 41:44Speaker 7: Because we'd be offended by that information. What do you
- 41:46Speaker 7: mean Cam Newton been in an accident? This dude steal
- 41:50Speaker 7: it on the street.
- 41:52Speaker 2: Literally. Those same people will sit there and ignore Amber Alert.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Sure will. Because it don't come with no visual. It
- 42:00Speaker 2: don't come with nothing you can share. They need to
- 42:03Speaker 2: stop the Amber Alert. They need to get rid of it. Well,
- 42:05Speaker 2: that's real time. Somebody's being kidnapped right now. Right. It's
- 42:09Speaker 2: the next state over.
- 42:11Speaker 7: But this Cam Newton story was three states away.
- 42:17Speaker 2: And you don't even know Caitlin Clark. You've never met
- 42:20Speaker 2: Cam Newton. So. But. But it's like I know them, though. No,
- 42:28Speaker 2: it's not.
- 42:29Speaker 18: And then that's another, like the parasocial relationship, that's another show.
- 42:34Speaker 2: What is a pro? Now that college has stepped up
- 42:38Speaker 2: to the plate, decided that people in the SEC, Big 10,
- 42:45Speaker 2: Big 12, all coming out, basically banning you off of
- 42:49Speaker 2: the situation with DeJuan Wright, Lane Kiffin, was going to
- 42:54Speaker 2: bring him back. He played for Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss.
- 42:59Speaker 2: He left, was released by the Browns, was going to
- 43:03Speaker 2: join Lane at the tight end position down at LSU.
- 43:07Speaker 2: That kind of is the match that started all this
- 43:10Speaker 2: over the last week. So many things about paying players
- 43:15Speaker 2: that has confused me. The difference between an amateur and
- 43:19Speaker 2: a pro player was payment. That was the whole difference.
- 43:26Speaker 2: Once you started getting paid for something, you was no
- 43:30Speaker 2: longer an amateur. You declared that no matter what sport
- 43:35Speaker 2: you were in, you could be a 15, 16-year-old Serena
- 43:40Speaker 2: in Venus. Once they declared, that meant that they were
- 43:44Speaker 2: going to make money. It meant that they could not
- 43:48Speaker 2: get a scholarship to college because you had declared and
- 43:52Speaker 2: went and taken money to go to the pro. As
- 43:57Speaker 2: I said the other day, NIL. That's no NIL check
- 44:01Speaker 2: that Arch Manning got. That was a check from the
- 44:05Speaker 2: University of Texas that really makes Arch Manning an employee.
- 44:14Speaker 2: It gives him motivation, incentive, more than a scholarship. And
- 44:21Speaker 2: now you're saying, oh, but no, these are still college students. players.
- 44:28Speaker 2: I played college football. I'm telling you the next lawsuit
- 44:34Speaker 2: is guys like a Diego Pavia suing that you're holding
- 44:39Speaker 2: up my ability to make money. If I'm the Mountain
- 44:43Speaker 2: West of one of these little small conferences, I don't
- 44:47Speaker 2: know that I wouldn't build a conference off of the
- 44:53Speaker 2: Diego Pavia's. The Daquan writes, I think you might have
- 44:58Speaker 2: something there. You might beat out. I'm selling the brands
- 45:03Speaker 2: that were built somewhere else that's in a conference. That
- 45:06Speaker 2: might be must watch TV for somebody that wants to
- 45:11Speaker 2: have a chance. We're looking for content. What if... all
- 45:17Speaker 2: those people could come back and play. I could pay
- 45:21Speaker 2: you the same amount of money. Why can't Shiloh come
- 45:24Speaker 2: back and go play for North Dakota? Why can't that
- 45:28Speaker 2: conference build teams with those names? Gunnar Stockton can't make
- 45:35Speaker 2: the NFL, so Gunnar Stockton goes out here. It's name recognition.
- 45:42Speaker 18: Well, like we talked about before, i think it would
- 45:46Speaker 18: just be a matter of the the eligibility thing like
- 45:52Speaker 18: how many years do they get do they get four
- 45:56Speaker 18: or five or i and with the the recent ruling
- 45:59Speaker 18: it's players who were in the 2022 class they could
- 46:04Speaker 18: go back if they haven't um signed with an NFL team.
- 46:10Speaker 2: They could come back. And what I'm asking.
- 46:12Speaker 7: But before that, I don't think they could. Is that
- 46:15Speaker 7: part of the reason that some... You think that some
- 46:18Speaker 7: of these conferences have decided, hey, man, we need to
- 46:22Speaker 7: get out in front of this because what you're going
- 46:23Speaker 7: to end up with is somebody having a conference of
- 46:27Speaker 7: all guys who couldn't go to the NFL.
- 46:29Speaker 2: Now, we got.
- 46:31Speaker 7: drafted or we got looks from NFL teams, which means
- 46:35Speaker 7: we were better than our competition. And now all of
- 46:38Speaker 7: them dudes who just a quarter of a second slower
- 46:42Speaker 7: than the NFL wide receiver, just two completions shy of
- 46:48Speaker 7: being NFL quarterback are in a certain conference now. So
- 46:53Speaker 7: this is elevated college football, ain't it? It ain't just
- 46:57Speaker 7: the regular dude. And that's what I'm saying.
- 46:59Speaker 2: How far back we going to go and would they
- 47:02Speaker 2: have let them try? Yeah, two years, three years. I'm
- 47:06Speaker 2: not on a year basis. That's the thing that I
- 47:08Speaker 2: don't get. I'm paying you now. Yeah, we can eliminate
- 47:12Speaker 2: that four years. Y'all are just trying to hold on
- 47:14Speaker 2: to some kind of eligibility. They don't have a limit
- 47:17Speaker 2: for the pros.
- 47:18Speaker 7: I can play at Minnesota for four years and then
- 47:22Speaker 7: come to.
- 47:22Speaker 2: No, you remove the boundaries. When you started paying people,
- 47:31Speaker 2: you took away the competitive balance field. Yeah. If it
- 47:37Speaker 2: was so balanced, then everybody would make a million dollars. Yeah.
- 47:42Speaker 2: But you got tears, just like an NFL team has
- 47:45Speaker 2: tears of payment.
- 47:46Speaker 8: Yeah, because they sold it as if everybody was going
- 47:48Speaker 8: to be equal pay. And then all the programs would
- 47:52Speaker 8: have the same budget. So you didn't, everybody was supposed to, exactly.
- 47:56Speaker 2: Everybody on a scholarship in college, they made it seem
- 47:59Speaker 2: like it was going to get a check. Yeah, the
- 48:01Speaker 2: same equal pay. That's not true. That's why Texas came
- 48:06Speaker 2: and outbid Auburn for Cam Coleman. Yeah. So you created pro.
- 48:13Speaker 2: So why are we keep holding to these, well, they
- 48:16Speaker 2: can only play five years.
- 48:18Speaker 3: Why?
- 48:22Speaker 2: Because. Why does eligibility matter?
- 48:25Speaker 7: Because I still need my benefit from that.
- 48:29Speaker 2: I don't know how to control it yet. That's the truth.
- 48:31Speaker 7: I've created something and I don't know how to rein
- 48:34Speaker 7: it back in. The tube has had all the toothpaste
- 48:37Speaker 7: pushed out. And now we just standing here with a
- 48:40Speaker 7: pile of toothpaste and I'm trying to regulate how people
- 48:43Speaker 7: brush their teeth. One dude might want to just scrape
- 48:45Speaker 7: the whole pile up with his hands.
- 48:47Speaker 2: No, no, no, no. I need you to spread some
- 48:49Speaker 2: of it around. But it's sitting here on the counter.
- 48:51Speaker 2: Why wouldn't I get all of it for me?
- 48:53Speaker 7: And that's the problem is we attached to scholarships and
- 48:58Speaker 7: scholastic achievement and graduations. And now all of that is gone.
- 49:02Speaker 7: What are we going to replace it with? Besides money,
- 49:05Speaker 7: and that's the corruptor. So y'all just going to go
- 49:08Speaker 7: from college education to corruption?
- 49:11Speaker 2: You made it pro. And the only way I understand,
- 49:14Speaker 2: the people that was fighting against this was to keep
- 49:16Speaker 2: an even playground and still focus on... that only 1%
- 49:21Speaker 2: of people make pro sports. So the system worked better
- 49:26Speaker 2: for the 99, but when you went to pay, it
- 49:29Speaker 2: means that the non-pro can still make pro-level money. Yeah,
- 49:37Speaker 2: because I knew something was up.
- 49:39Speaker 8: When Armando Baycock kept coming back, he didn't even worry
- 49:41Speaker 8: about going to the pros with Carolina basketball.
- 49:44Speaker 2: Right, because I could stay here. Why go to end
- 49:47Speaker 2: up in the G League? Why? For whatever they'll pay, $ 80, 000, $ 90, 000, $ 100, 000
- 49:53Speaker 2: when I can stay at Carolina for 1.2 for five years.
- 49:57Speaker 2: And then go to Carolina Central. And got a whole hotel.
- 50:02Speaker 2: Got a hotel franchise. Right after this.
- 50:06Speaker 4: Don't go away.
- 50:07Speaker 19: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamby is
- 50:11Speaker 19: coming up next.
- 50:28Speaker 9: Some people won't give you the real talk on drugs,
- 50:30Speaker 9: but it's time we know the facts. Fentanyl is killing people.
- 50:34Speaker 9: It's a powerful opioid often made illegally and commonly mixed
- 50:37Speaker 9: with illicit drugs. It can even be pressed into counterfeit
- 50:41Speaker 9: pills that resemble prescription medications. Just two milligrams, about the
- 50:45Speaker 9: size of a few grains of sand, could potentially be lethal.
- 50:48Speaker 9: This isn't an ad to scare you, but it is
- 50:50Speaker 9: an ad to make you think twice. Get the facts.
- 50:53Speaker 9: Go to realdealonfentanyl.com. This message is brought to you by
- 50:57Speaker 9: the Ad Council. You wanted to be cool, which led
- 51:03Speaker 9: you to smoking, which led to a pack a day.
- 51:06Speaker 9: Then you met that special someone, which led to starting
- 51:10Speaker 9: a life with them, which led to wanting to live longer,
- 51:13Speaker 9: which led to quitting. Then you heard you may be
- 51:16Speaker 9: at risk for lung cancer, which led you to getting
- 51:19Speaker 9: a low-dose CT scan. If you smoked, get scanned. Talk

- 51:34Speaker 2: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Gandy.
- 51:39Speaker 12: Center Court on sports, news, gossip, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 51:47Speaker 1: It's Mr.
- 51:48Speaker 2: Worldwide with the one and only Dolly Parton. And this
- 51:53Speaker 2: is dedicated to her. I'm a power for women. Working
- 51:56Speaker 2: nine to five. Two, three jobs just to survive. I'm
- 51:59Speaker 2: a power for women. No man at home. Raising all
- 52:02Speaker 2: the kids alone. I'm a power for women. Y'all deserve
- 52:05Speaker 2: a throne. Keep your head up and stay strong.
- 52:07Speaker 4: I'm a power for women.
- 52:09Speaker 2: No matter what, never give up. Welcome back to the
- 52:13Speaker 2: Sports Shock Show. I'm the Sports Shock's Wayne Gandy. Good
- 52:16Speaker 2: morning to you out there listening land. The best player
- 52:19Speaker 2: coming up, I would say, based on the recovery of
- 52:22Speaker 2: Juju Watkins out at USC, will be the great Sarah
- 52:25Speaker 2: Strong at UConn. Power Force Center will be ready for
- 52:30Speaker 2: the WNBA in two more years. You want to know
- 52:34Speaker 2: why they made the rules like they making the rules?
- 52:37Speaker 2: So Sarah Strong can stay at UConn. Why? You want
- 52:44Speaker 2: to know why the WNBA changed the pay? Because now
- 52:47Speaker 2: the Caitlin Clarks, when they do make themselves in the
- 52:50Speaker 2: Caitlin Clarks, the Angel Reeses, they can maximize. Angel Reese,
- 52:57Speaker 2: if she was a freshman right now, she'd be making $ 1. 5 million.
- 53:02Speaker 2: If the WNBA hadn't changed their pay scale, she would
- 53:06Speaker 2: have never left LSU. Period. Until they kicked her out.
- 53:11Speaker 2: Because they was paying $ 300, 000. So in the five years
- 53:14Speaker 2: she would have been in the WNBA, she would have
- 53:17Speaker 2: made one five. LSU would have paid her with the changes.
- 53:22Speaker 2: You got to see the sequence. This is why they
- 53:25Speaker 2: was going to lose a pulling players. Like I said,
- 53:29Speaker 2: why would you leave when I can make more? As
- 53:32Speaker 2: that producer is saying it, the guy from Bank, he knew.
- 53:37Speaker 2: He knew. Well, on the next level, I'm just... This level. Here,
- 53:44Speaker 2: I can make three times. Why would I? You'd say
- 53:46Speaker 2: I could stay five years. Why go be somebody's backup
- 53:52Speaker 2: when I can be somebody's starter if it's just about money?
- 53:56Speaker 2: There is no incentive to leave. You can make yourself
- 54:00Speaker 2: a household name in college. I've shared that with you.
- 54:04Speaker 2: Some people make themselves that pros didn't make them any famous. No,
- 54:08Speaker 2: any more famous. They was just as popular the day
- 54:11Speaker 2: they left. It didn't work like that. You really think.
- 54:16Speaker 8: About those college players who really had that stardom only
- 54:20Speaker 8: in college.
- 54:21Speaker 2: The money that they could have made. The press conference
- 54:24Speaker 2: where Allen Iverson, you know, I'm making this move for
- 54:29Speaker 2: my family. Well, back under today's rule, he Wouldn't have
- 54:33Speaker 2: had to make that joke.
- 54:34Speaker 7: Your family would have been like, bro, you could walk
- 54:37Speaker 7: over the campus and play. I mean, we lived that
- 54:39Speaker 7: close to the campus. You ain't got to leave town.
- 54:41Speaker 7: You could go to law school if you want. Yeah,
- 54:43Speaker 7: you could do all of that stuff.
- 54:45Speaker 2: Because after the football season is over, you got all
- 54:47Speaker 2: that time. So what is a pro? What is an amateur?
- 54:51Speaker 2: To me, the biggest difference in those times was about
- 54:54Speaker 2: getting paid, where now you're paying. But the only thing
- 54:57Speaker 2: you're trying to keep in place is that– eligibility thing,
- 55:05Speaker 2: I don't think people really care. I think they want
- 55:08Speaker 2: as much as Johnny Menzel as they can get. Texas
- 55:12Speaker 2: A & M and that fan base wanted as much
- 55:15Speaker 2: of Johnny football. If he could have played there 10
- 55:18Speaker 2: more years of the money sign, they'd have kept at
- 55:22Speaker 2: the same level. That's really true. Tim Tebow. Florida want,
- 55:33Speaker 2: you go back to the school even when you leave. Man,
- 55:36Speaker 2: we sure wish you had you back in a uniform. Really?
- 55:40Speaker 2: Because why would I give up who I know? All
- 55:45Speaker 2: of that. Bo Jackson. For Auburn, Hershel Walker, wherever you go,
- 55:51Speaker 2: people don't want those people to actually leave. Now I
- 55:54Speaker 2: can pay you to stay?
- 55:56Speaker 7: If Brett Favre could have stayed at Southern Miss until
- 55:58Speaker 7: he started coaching at Southern Miss, they'd have let him.
- 56:02Speaker 2: They would have let him. They love him that much.
- 56:05Speaker 2: They would have let him.
- 56:06Speaker 8: Well, back to what made me think when you were
- 56:09Speaker 8: saying the pros, way back in 1992, Jason Bond hit
- 56:14Speaker 8: a hole in one. He's on the University of Alabama
- 56:16Speaker 8: golf team. Won a million dollars. He had to make
- 56:19Speaker 8: a choice. He took the million dollars. He got to
- 56:21Speaker 8: go pro. Give up his scholarship.
- 56:24Speaker 2: He took the money. Those girls for the Nebraska, the
- 56:27Speaker 2: ladies for the Nebraska volleyball team, you think they want
- 56:33Speaker 2: to leave that million-dollar job? That's one of the top
- 56:36Speaker 2: programs in the country. You don't make a million dollars
- 56:39Speaker 2: in professional volleyball? No, you don't. No. But they got
- 56:43Speaker 2: about four players on that Nebraska team that sell out 62,000
- 56:47Speaker 2: people to come see them. They playing the footballs. They
- 56:50Speaker 2: just got some freshmen that they paying about $ 2 million
- 56:53Speaker 2: to come there. Go ahead, Big Kenny. I don't want
- 56:57Speaker 2: to seem uninformed, but they got professional volleyball. Atlanta has
- 57:02Speaker 2: a team. Yeah, they have a couple of professional volleyball
- 57:04Speaker 2: teams now. It's been about two, three years. But everybody
- 57:08Speaker 2: ain't making no $ 2 million.
- 57:09Speaker 19: No.
- 57:10Speaker 2: No, they might not have. They might not be making 50G. Yeah,
- 57:13Speaker 2: they might not be making $ 50, 000. Yeah, it's just. So
- 57:16Speaker 2: to be in college straight up. Most of them probably
- 57:19Speaker 2: work during the day and volleyball at night.
- 57:23Speaker 7: It's that great work if you can get it at
- 57:25Speaker 7: Nebraska Volleyball. Like, man, if I could get on that team,
- 57:28Speaker 7: I definitely would because we getting paid.
- 57:30Speaker 8: Oh, it's amazing that this volleyball is. On the college level.
- 57:37Speaker 2: Yeah, Libby Dunn, Jordan Childs, all those ladies, they let
- 57:43Speaker 2: them go to Olympics, do their thing, win their gold,
- 57:47Speaker 2: getting paid to go to Auburn. What's the young lady?
- 57:52Speaker 2: She goes to Auburn. I forget her name right off.
- 57:56Speaker 2: She was on the Olympic team. Then she left there
- 57:58Speaker 2: and went to Auburn. That's where they can make real money.
- 58:01Speaker 2: There is no professional gymnast league.
- 58:03Speaker 5: No, no.
- 58:05Speaker 2: So outside of endorsements and and winning a competition all
- 58:11Speaker 2: we are keeping is the eligibility thing everything else we
- 58:13Speaker 2: have turned into pro football.
- 58:15Speaker 18: Just that's why i was just asking like would you
- 58:19Speaker 18: i guess what you're saying is like it would be
- 58:21Speaker 18: there would be no such thing as the eligibility like
- 58:25Speaker 18: running out you can be there however long they'll have you.
- 58:31Speaker 2: Yes when you went to the million, two, three million
- 58:34Speaker 2: dollar paycheck, which is only going to grow with somebody,
- 58:37Speaker 2: if nobody put no rules, then I don't think it matter. NIL,
- 58:46Speaker 2: it mattered because NIL was name, image, and likeness. The
- 58:50Speaker 2: University of Texas, and I keep telling you as we
- 58:52Speaker 2: go to break, the state of Texas went from one
- 58:58Speaker 2: team in the top 20 to fire a team in
- 59:04Speaker 2: the top 20. As soon as you said they could pay,
- 59:09Speaker 2: Texas Tech, Texas A & M, SMU, TCU, and Texas.
- 59:19Speaker 7: And Texas Tech and TCU hadn't really been SMU. SMU
- 59:24Speaker 7: had had a past, but.
- 59:26Speaker 2: They weren't considered. SMU, like, we back. SMU came back. SMU, like,
- 59:31Speaker 2: we back.
- 59:32Speaker 8: We been here, but we back like Return of the Jedi.
- 59:35Speaker 7: I saw that, too, when Texas Tech became the Red
- 59:37Speaker 7: Raiders of Texas.
- 59:38Speaker 2: I was like, what? Like, they matter now? And then
- 59:41Speaker 2: TCU was all like championship games. Kicking off the season
- 59:45Speaker 2: in Ireland, TCU. I'm saying now. I'm saying that, but
- 59:49Speaker 2: we got Texas money. And that's what happened. We'll be back.
- 59:52Speaker 2: More of the Sports.
- 59:55Speaker 12: Jock Show right after this.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: Don't go away.
- 1:00:06Speaker 6: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gambia is
- 1:00:09Speaker 6: coming up next.
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: And now let's talk about something exciting, life insurance.
- 1:00:15Speaker 13: Three-quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical piece
- 1:00:18Speaker 13: of financial security, yet only 49% actually have life insurance.
- 1:00:23Speaker 22: When I was 25, me and my wife were just
- 1:00:25Speaker 22: getting started with our family and thought we lived forever.
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: Life insurance was the last thing on my mind. What
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: about you? Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 1:00:32Speaker 22: When I was 40, with a kid in college and
- 1:00:34Speaker 22: bills piling up, I was worried how my family would
- 1:00:36Speaker 22: survive without me. That's when I made an appointment with
- 1:00:38Speaker 22: the insurance informant.
- 1:00:40Speaker 13: Information gives you power and life insurance gives your family security,
- 1:00:43Speaker 13: no matter what stage of life you're in.
- 1:00:45Speaker 22: Now that I'm older, I don't worry about whether I
- 1:00:47Speaker 22: leave my family with bills or benefits.
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: The answer is easy.
- 1:00:50Speaker 13: Whether you're 25 or 50, whether you earn a little
- 1:00:53Speaker 13: or a lot, all you need is the insurance informant
- 1:00:56Speaker 13: to help you build a foundation of security.
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: Because without you, your family will have two options.
- 1:01:01Speaker 13: Benefits or bills which legacy will you leave behind log
- 1:01:05Speaker 13: on today benefits or bills.com that's benefits or bills.com enough.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: Is enough i.
- 1:01:15Speaker 23: Have had it why so serious and we hold the
- 1:01:20Speaker 23: world ransom for.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: Excuse me while i whip this out show me the
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: Broadcasting live in Atlanta, Georgia.
- 1:01:29Speaker 24: This, this is the Sports Chalk Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: Welcome back to the Sports Talk Show.
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: I'm the Sports Talk Wayne Gandy. Good morning to you
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: out there listening land. Guys, I'm going to read your,
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: here we go. We got them right here. Where's the napkins?
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: I don't see anything on them. Oh, they go one.
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: I wrote it so small. See anything. We were talking
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: about who, um, yeah. It's confused or something. Let's, let's
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: try this again. I don't see anything on there. Uh,
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: All I have. I'm the only one that follows instructions.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: All I have is... We did it. I don't know who...
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: DJ Thriller. Who is that? You said your other names.
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: You said you was another. Oh, that's one of your
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: code names? Yes. Oh, I never knew that. You never
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: told me that. That's what you said? I did when
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: I be doing my drops. How long you been DJ Thriller?
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: I just be hitting the drops. Thriller, you know.
- 1:02:56Speaker 10: Okay.
- 1:02:56Speaker 9: Okay.
- 1:02:58Speaker 8: Thrill, like I thrill them when I'm thrilling them. I'm
- 1:03:00Speaker 8: not just saying I'm thrilling them. I didn't even know
- 1:03:02Speaker 8: your DJ name. I thought it was just, you know,
- 1:03:06Speaker 8: DJ Conway.
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, it's just, AKA, because I'm a thrill.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: I'm a thrill. But I follow the instructions, though. Can
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: I get a... We all did. Well, y'all didn't fill
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: out the paperwork. I think I must have used one
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: of them to blow my nose. So that's why I'm
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: taking out. So it's my fault. I probably used one
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: of them to wipe my hands or something. So I
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: got it right there. But that's all about the question
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: that I proposed at the beginning of the show. We'll
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: get around to it in a minute. And that was
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: stemmed from Lonzo Ball and Michael Porter Jr. last week
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: was asked that question. They were on a podcast and
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: asked if they would let someone die. For a billion dollars.
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: And we'll talk about that. And it's just one of
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: those questions. You know how it is. It's the indecent proposal.
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: Indecent proposal. That question. People get around to when they're bored.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: You know, how much, if a man offered you a
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: billion dollars, let you sleep with their wife. You know
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: the movie. Jimmy Moore, Woody Harrison, Robert Redford.
- 1:04:16Speaker 18: But there is a movie with this scenario that you're
- 1:04:20Speaker 18: talking about.
- 1:04:20Speaker 4: Oh, is it?
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: I think it's called The Button. Oh, I didn't know that.
- 1:04:25Speaker 18: Yeah, where like if you press a button, like someone
- 1:04:28Speaker 18: came to. Was it the box? I thought it was
- 1:04:30Speaker 18: the box. It was something like that.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: The box.
- 1:04:32Speaker 7: Where someone came to your house with a box and
- 1:04:35Speaker 7: inside that box was a button. And we're going to
- 1:04:38Speaker 7: call you randomly and tell you to press the button.
- 1:04:41Speaker 7: And when you press the button, a definite amount of money,
- 1:04:47Speaker 7: say $ 2 million, be transferred to your bank account. And
- 1:04:50Speaker 7: it'll be anonymous. You don't got to know who it was.
- 1:04:53Speaker 7: You don't got to know none of that. Just press
- 1:04:55Speaker 7: the button. Would you do it? And the movie was
- 1:04:59Speaker 7: centered around that.
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: Okay, I've never heard of that. The Box. The Box. Okay,
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: it's a horror flick? Kind of a suspense thriller. Yeah,
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: suspense thriller. The Box. I've got to remember to try
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: to check that out. I've never heard of that. So
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: we'll have to get around to that question. We were
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: talking about what's a pro. This is all based on
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: Big Ten SEC, Big 12 now saying they're banning pro players.
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: You can't come back. I know at San Jose City College,
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: they did let a 47-year-old pastor, Justin Buzzard, he made
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: the team. 47 years old. He's going to play defensive end.
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: He said he never played football much in high school,
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: but he's been working out and keeping his body. And
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: he went out and tried out for the San Jose
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: City team. So obviously, y'all don't care about age. Mm-mm.
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: He had eligibility. He had eligibility. And that's what Dwight
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: Howard is saying. He has eligibility. Why go to the
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: big three for $ 500, 000 when I can go even today
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: at his advanced age of 38? To play in college.
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: Auburn would take him for a meal. Hey, they cool meal.
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: I'd drink for a cool meal at 38. You know,
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: come on now. What, 30 games? Y'all got it. Give
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: me 27. He's saying he never went to high school.
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: I got five, four years. I can just be out
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: here blocking shots. There's a couple of them. Jermaine O'Neal. Yeah,
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: you got a lot of guys.
- 1:06:28Speaker 18: And he don't have to move out the paint. He
- 1:06:31Speaker 18: can just stand in the lane.
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, yeah. Which is still kind of a good
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: thing in college. Yeah, yeah. College still kind of really
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: likes that traditional center type guy that blocks shots and rebound.
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: They don't necessarily call on their center to lead the team,
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: like the pros in scoring and things like that. They
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: do it. And that's why a lot of the guys,
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: when they do leave college, fail in the pros because
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: they was used more in a traditional. Then they get
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: to the pros and they want you to start shooting threes.
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: And based on your ability to do that, you fade
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: out or not. Because the two don't sync up. And
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: that's what the NFL, and that's what that actually leads
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: into a great segue to what I was going to
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: say with the NFL. They're getting rid of the Pro Bowl.
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: They're going to make the... Pro Bowl players still, they're
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: going to announce that. It's going to be 88 players
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: a year. You still can be listed as a Pro Bowler,
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: but there is no Pro Bowl. The vote is still even,
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: which I still think if I was asked, fans should
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: not vote if it's not a game. If it's just...
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: The recognition of who was good this year or not,
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: it should just be coaches and players. That third, they
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: went to the fans, to me was more that there
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: was going to be a game for you to see. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: So we want you to have some input on who
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: you see. We'll give you that, but since it's just
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: purely who should really be on a team. Your opinion
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: don't count like that. Your opinion shouldn't. Am I wrong
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: on that? I don't really. I mean, I don't think
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: the interest will be there.
- 1:08:21Speaker 7: If you picking people from your family for top 10
- 1:08:24Speaker 7: best family members of all time, I ain't got no
- 1:08:27Speaker 7: interest in that unless they finna get out in the
- 1:08:28Speaker 7: front yard and box my cousin. You see what I'm saying? So,
- 1:08:32Speaker 7: I mean, I'm not even tuned in like that anymore.
- 1:08:34Speaker 7: But the teams and the players, because they are out
- 1:08:38Speaker 7: there all the time putting their best foot forward and
- 1:08:41Speaker 7: giving the effort, they should have the vote.
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: I think they should. But, Comanche, you had a.
- 1:08:48Speaker 18: I agree that it's fair that it should be coaches
- 1:08:51Speaker 18: and players voting on it going forward. Cause even when
- 1:08:55Speaker 18: we see that in the, in other sports, especially like
- 1:08:59Speaker 18: I've seen, in the NBA where the fans had I
- 1:09:02Speaker 18: think accounted for 50% of the vote I think it's
- 1:09:06Speaker 18: down to 25% now but some fans would it's not
- 1:09:11Speaker 18: like they're all watching the game some are just trolling
- 1:09:14Speaker 18: to try to get some player in there that doesn't
- 1:09:17Speaker 18: play all that much but they like them and I
- 1:09:19Speaker 18: feel like it would be funny.
- 1:09:20Speaker 8: To put a player in the game. Well, it's easy
- 1:09:22Speaker 8: to vote now with them online. People just continuously go
- 1:09:26Speaker 8: on and continue to vote. Back when you used to
- 1:09:29Speaker 8: have to get the punch to slip, drop it in
- 1:09:32Speaker 8: the box.
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: It's rare that the NFL will take something away and
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: just leave a space. They ain't got nothing to put
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: in the place of the Pro Bowl. Not as yet.
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: Not as yet, but I don't think it was. So
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: they just thought, man, we don't even really need that.
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: Bring the college pro bowl. It's been fading out. All
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: those all-star games and things like that. Have been on
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: the out. You don't really watch anybody really cover the
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: senior bowl anymore. People just, there's so much other content.
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: That I think the All-Star game, that's why it's fading
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: because I can see everybody all the time. I don't
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: ever have to miss Steph Curry.
- 1:10:15Speaker 15: True.
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: I don't really ever have to, you know. I got
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: the league pass. I can get all the Golden State
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: games I want. So I don't really need, and sometimes
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: those All-Star games were set up because of your limits
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: of being able to see some people.
- 1:10:32Speaker 7: Sports jock uh our online listener nikki kemp who's been
- 1:10:35Speaker 7: supporting the bad producer all day i said guys share
- 1:10:38Speaker 7: your billion dollar answers already so i can get off
- 1:10:41Speaker 7: social media people really want to know where our morals
- 1:10:47Speaker 7: are with that right now.
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: Uh so uh with the nfl uh the other thing
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: that i was talking about syncing up It is. The
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: NFL are going to enforce their five major rules for injuries.
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: You can imagine the five rules. They're already in place.
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: They're just going to put an emphasis on it. But
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: when you look at the five rules, it's all defense.
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: What are they? Hip dropping on tackles, horse collaring on tackles,
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: launching to hit a person, hitting a defenseless person. All
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: these are the rules, but All of them are defensive
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: and no blindside blocks. Oh, there's one. There's one. Exactly.
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: That's just what we call the Heinz Ward rule. You
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: can't just cherry pick, which I'm telling you, man, those
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: little things, you think they don't change football and change
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: plays and change the excitement. When somebody intercepts the ball
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: and I can run with the idea that nobody can
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: hit me, You get to the man who intercepted the
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: ball fast. But when interceptions used to happen, as a lineman,
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: the first thing I got to do is locate people.
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: which gets you an extra step. Yeah, make sure somebody
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: ain't coming to block me. Because this defensive tackle, he
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: has been waiting on this moment. He has been waiting
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: for me to be looking at the receiver. And he
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: sees that I'm looking at this cornerback intercept this ball.
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: And when I turn around, he's sitting in my back
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: seven o'clock. He's going to wipe me out. And the
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: first thing you learn is you got to figure out
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: where you are on the field. Even while this dude running.
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: I got it.
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: Hold on.
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: Let me get my bearing. Okay. Nobody around me. Now
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: I'll go chase. Get that toy story.
- 1:12:40Speaker 7: If it's me, I'm going to wait until you arms lift.
- 1:12:45Speaker 7: And then here I come. Because that's going to make
- 1:12:47Speaker 7: the highlight. That's going to make the highlight.
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: I freed you up for the touchdown. I'm playing. We'll
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: be back with more of the Sports Yacht Show right
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: after this. Don't go away. More of the Sports Jock
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: Show with Wayne Gamby is coming up next.

- 1:15:42Speaker 2: first college weekend. Noon on Saturday from Ireland, Carolina taking
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: on TCU Carolina. Kick off the college football season next week.
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: Everybody will be in business. I think they're starting next week.
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: The big game will be next Thursday. We're Colorado coming
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: to Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech. Teams like Georgia Tech. Teams
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: like Vanderbilt. How much have they benefited from the ability
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: to pay? They've been waiting on that, too. Those schools
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: that got that long money, they just ain't been able
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: to use it. And now that we're using SAT and
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: ACT scores, we.
- 1:16:24Speaker 7: Can get to millions. We can really get to millions now.
- 1:16:28Speaker 7: Even if you had the money to get them, they
- 1:16:29Speaker 7: had to have that 3-2-5. We just wasn't getting the
- 1:16:31Speaker 7: fastest guys with the 3-2-5.
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: Birthdays here. Mace is 51. Rod Wave is 28. Savannah
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: James is the big 4-0. Tom Ford is 65. Breonna
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: Stewie Stewart of the Liberty is 32. Kevin Herter is
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: 28 years old. Where is he now? Golden State? Sacramento?
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: I think he's on the Pistons. We used to call
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: him Red Velvet. Kevin Herter. He used to play with
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: the Hawks. Yolanda Adams is 65. Jack Black, 57. Jennifer Coolidge.
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: Stifler's mom. I don't care what she's been in. She's
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: been Stifler's mom since the time I've seen her in
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: that role is Jennifer Coolidge. She's 65. She does a
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: lot of commercials now on TV. She's 65. Capital One. Yeah.
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: Ruth Riley, our girl Ruth, bad producer, is 47. Keeley,
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: is it Copper? Kalea Copper. Kalea Copper for the Suns.
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: Or is it the Mercury? Mercury. Mercury. She's 32 years old.
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: Jeff Green, longtime NBA baller, is 40. The biggest thing
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: with Jeff is just how he came back from heart
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: surgery to have just as good of a career before.
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: Stayed around the NBA about 14, 15 years, too, was
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: Jeff Green. I think he's still playing. Oh, is he? Okay,
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: he's 40 years old. Leanne Rimes is 44. Shania Twain
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: is 61. Lea Michele is 40. Timothy Bradley. Boxing is
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: so faded. Timothy Bradley used to be a household boxing name.
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: He's 43 years old, but really, you don't really invest
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: in boxing like we did, do we? No, no. It's
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: more of the spectacle. If it ain't a spectacle fight,
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: people don't really know the day-to-day real boxers like that anymore.
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: And then we get Jake Paul. And then you get.
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: Former giant Carl... Banks is 64. And Carla Gugino is
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: fixed 55 years of age. But Kenny, a little work
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: going into the weekend? Going into the weekend, Shania Twain.
- 1:19:05Speaker 21: Clonk!
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: Clonk! Okay. Yes, she is. What was her biggest hit?
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: She's multi-Grammy winner. Yeah, I know she won.
- 1:19:14Speaker 7: That don't impress me much. That she has a good career?
- 1:19:19Speaker 7: I feel like a woman.
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: You feel like a woman, okay. I feel like a woman. Yes,
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: you do, Shania Twain.
- 1:19:26Speaker 8: I bet you that you're not playing that song at
- 1:19:29Speaker 8: WNBA games.
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: I can definitely guarantee and profess that you do feel
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: like a woman. You got the joke wrong. They okay
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: with being called women. They don't like to be called female.
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: So you got to work on that joke.
- 1:19:42Speaker 7: Man, I feel like a female would have to be
- 1:19:46Speaker 7: a song.
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: I thought they didn't want to be called a woman. No,
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: that's what I'm trying to help you out. They okay
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: with being women. They don't want you to call them female.
- 1:19:54Speaker 2: That's what Edith Scantor had on the shirt. That was
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: part of the shirt. But he was saying the woman.
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: If you're going to be condescending to people, you got
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: to have your facts right. It's important. I'm just trying
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: to help you. I'm trying to help you.
- 1:20:05Speaker 8: I'm listening to Enos on a couple of interviews last night,
- 1:20:08Speaker 8: but that's fine.
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: The story even going into him having the shirt on
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: was that a former WNBA player had a problem with
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: the definition of female. I'm not saying I agree with her.
- 1:20:22Speaker 2: I don't agree with the Chicago Sky banning Enos Kanter. Kanter,
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: excuse me. I believe Natasha Cloud was supposed to be
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: suspended for a game for antagonizing. Yeah. A fan. A fan.
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: You walk back down there to him. He didn't stand
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: up and start talking to you. And then you have
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: a coach for the Chicago Sky who always wears shirts
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: that have something to do. With some stance. With some stance.
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: But I'm cool with her doing that. I'm just not
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: cool with you saying she can do it, then Enos can't.
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: In your arena, because the WNBA said they were not
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: banning him, but the Chicago Sky as a team said
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: they were during their games. But the t-shirt said woman
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: as a noun and then female underneath. And adult female.
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: And that is the part that seemed to enrage her.
- 1:21:24Speaker 17: Yes.
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: You got that. You got to use that. You can't
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: just be I'm out there. I want to play the
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: Shania Twain song.
- 1:21:31Speaker 7: But now, don't let that get in the way of
- 1:21:34Speaker 7: your short-sightedness and being willing to just go out there
- 1:21:38Speaker 7: and have Cockburn produce.
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: I'm saying because that's in your spirit.
- 1:21:41Speaker 7: And you, just like he said, you'll be a half
- 1:21:44Speaker 7: a step slower worrying about getting your facts straight.
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay. Because what we're saying, they can play the song,
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: and it wouldn't be something that. I don't think. I'm
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: just saying that I don't think they would. Why?
- 1:22:01Speaker 8: The girl, because of how she acted the other night.
- 1:22:04Speaker 8: I mean, she don't want to hear that during warm-ups.
- 1:22:08Speaker 8: She want to hear the click, click, clop, bop during warm-ups.
- 1:22:11Speaker 8: She don't want to hear that, anything like that.
- 1:22:14Speaker 10: Why?
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: Her actions the other night showed you. Did you not
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: hear us explain it had nothing to do with the
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: shirt said woman? Okay. I understand that. So this is
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: where your misogyny and your LGBT against gay people starts
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: shining through. No, I ain't saying that. It sounds like it.
- 1:22:37Speaker 10: No, no, no, no.
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: Okay, I'm just trying to help you. I ain't trying
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: to get. Don't come at me. When you're up there
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: as DJ Thriller and they tell you they don't want
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: your services anymore, you'll know why. You won't be mad.
- 1:22:51Speaker 10: No, dude.
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: We deepened the vortex right there. And I was saying,
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: that a brand new vortex sound.
- 1:23:00Speaker 10: Yes.
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: Because everything has been elevated. I actually tried to educate
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: him on what the whole situation was. But okay, we'll
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: go to break. We'll come back. More of the Sports
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: Talk show right after this. And I can't stop it.
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: All right. See, that's what he do. That's how I
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: feel in the vortex. You go in and you just
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: can't stop it. See, you can't play with– I'm special.
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: Don't go away. More of the Sports Jock Show with
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: Wayne Davis. All right, son.
- 1:23:44Speaker 4: Time to put out this campfire.
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: Dad, we learned about this in school. Oh, did you now? Okay.
- 1:23:49Speaker 4: What's first? Smokey Bear said to.
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: First, drown it with a bucket of water. Then stir
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: it with a shovel. Wow.
- 1:23:56Speaker 4: You sound just like him.
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: Then he said... If it's still warm, then do it again.
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: Where can I learn all this?
- 1:24:03Speaker 10: It's all on SmokeyBear.com with other wildfire prevention tips.
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: Because only you can prevent wildfires.
- 1:24:10Speaker 4: Brought to you by the USDA Forest Service, your state forester,
- 1:24:12Speaker 4: and the Ad Council. Remember, always be generous with the nutmeg.
- 1:24:17Speaker 4: Just eyeball it.
- 1:24:18Speaker 22: Okay.
- 1:24:19Speaker 17: Mom's wisdom has served you well, but now it may
- 1:24:23Speaker 17: be your turn.
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: To guide her.
- 1:24:25Speaker 11: Hey, I'm worried about Mom. She keeps forgetting her famous
- 1:24:28Speaker 11: sweet potato pie recipe.
- 1:24:29Speaker 4: Some things come with age, sis.
- 1:24:31Speaker 9: And some don't.
- 1:24:32Speaker 17: Knowing the early signs of Alzheimer's in a loved one
- 1:24:35Speaker 17: will help you make the best decisions for your family.
- 1:24:37Speaker 17: Visit 10signs. org to learn the signs. Brought to you by
- 1:24:41Speaker 17: the Alzheimer's Association and the Ad Council.
- 1:24:44Speaker 11: Choosing to buy a gun was not a decision I
- 1:24:47Speaker 11: took lightly. But with everything going on, I really wanted
- 1:24:50Speaker 11: to feel like I could protect myself. I hadn't thought
- 1:24:52Speaker 11: about the danger of an unlocked gun in my own home, too.
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: Mia, where are your napkins? Not that drawer. Unless anyone
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: needs a gun.
- 1:25:04Speaker 11: Now, I always lock my gun to keep everyone safe.
- 1:25:08Speaker 11: Visit nfamilyfire.org to learn how to store your guns more securely.
- 1:25:12Speaker 11: Brought to you by Brady and the Ad Council.
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Gandy.
- 1:25:29Speaker 12: Players Lounge. You have been given full access to the
- 1:25:35Speaker 12: Players Lounge on the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:25:42Speaker 2: Let's go, girls. Come on. I'm going out tonight. I'm
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: feeling all right. Gonna let it all hang out. Wanna
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: make some noise.
- 1:26:00Speaker 19: Really raise my voice.
- 1:26:03Speaker 4: Yeah, I wanna scream and shout.
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Sports Chalk Show. I'm the Sports Chalk,
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: Wayne Candy. For somebody that don't like the song, somebody's
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: all over there tapping their foot. And moving they head.
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: It's just funny how that worked. The hypocrisy in our society.
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: I don't really like the song. I don't like the WNBA.
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: I don't like women. I didn't say I didn't like
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: the song. But I'm over there just jooking.
- 1:26:28Speaker 23: Jooking.
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: As they used to say it. Jooking. Bust down. Like
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: RG3 called it. Jooking and jiving. Jooking and jiving. He
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: doing two things. Jooking and jiving. The 49ers in the news.
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: Two stories over the week. First, their owner, Jed York,
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: soliciting charges on him, arrested for trying to solicit a prostitute.
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: All the rest of that stuff is just to try
- 1:27:00Speaker 2: to color the story. All that trailer park and how
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: much and all that kind of stuff. You know, so
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: what you think? Because he got a lot of money.
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: He ain't supposed to look for a deal. How much
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: was he trying to pay? Like $ 140, $ 160. Oh, yeah,
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: that was a good time right there. That's that drinking
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: whiskey all night cost. What was he supposed to say? Yeah,
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: $ 15 million. He called some number. The person gave him
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: the price, and he was supposed to, oh, no. Oh, no, no,
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: I got billions of dollars. I need to pay you more.
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: No, no.
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: I'm going to send a jet for you. The man
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: don't set the price. Last time I checked, unless in
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: the green book, y'all have changed that. Maybe y'all, oh, yeah.
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: Maybe they changed that. Well, they have in-call and out-call prices. Yeah,
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: they got in-call and out-call prices. From what I heard.
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: From what you heard. From what they done told me,
- 1:27:52Speaker 2: sports jock. And it's a deposit required now. And you
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: got to put a deposit down.
- 1:27:57Speaker 18: I think some people were trying to protect him at
- 1:27:59Speaker 18: first because the first report I saw was, disorderly conduct
- 1:28:04Speaker 18: and then like five minutes later it was a solicitation.
- 1:28:07Speaker 7: And why are people so judgmental i mean it's a
- 1:28:10Speaker 7: grown man and at some point in most grown men
- 1:28:13Speaker 7: lives we didn't all put up in the trailer.
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: Park soliciting people for sex am i right am i
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: right i don't know Maybe not a trailer park. I
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: do know people who say trailer park and a good
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: amount of people have never even been to a trailer park. Ever.
- 1:28:30Speaker 2: They just go by some stigma that trailer parks have
- 1:28:36Speaker 2: started weighing over the time.
- 1:28:38Speaker 10: Right.
- 1:28:38Speaker 2: And they've never even. been to a trailer don't know
- 1:28:42Speaker 2: anybody that lives in one so they have they're still
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: stuck on eight mile movie until they go down there
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: and see that there's a $ 2 million double wide. In
- 1:28:57Speaker 2: Placid Oaks. Yeah, you just have. Enclosed on the bottom
- 1:29:01Speaker 2: of the porch and everything. You're just projecting a stereotype
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: image to all. In the ground pool, the whole thing. Right.
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: And as I said, it looks like he was soliciting
- 1:29:12Speaker 2: whatever number or information he had. That was whatever that
- 1:29:16Speaker 2: person was saying. From what I understood, it was a scene.
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: And this is where the person was telling him. To go.
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: So none of that was of his choice other than
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: the choice of trying to solicit.
- 1:29:29Speaker 7: And from what I understand, he reached out to a
- 1:29:33Speaker 7: number that had been set up by the police to
- 1:29:35Speaker 7: entrap people who were soliciting prostitution. So they told him
- 1:29:39Speaker 7: where to go and they were lying in wait to
- 1:29:42Speaker 7: bust him once he got there.
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: Another story that's really not a 49er story, but unfortunately
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: it still falls under the heading of because the gentleman
- 1:29:54Speaker 2: was scamming under the pretension that he was a 49ers player.
- 1:30:02Speaker 2: Dajon Love scammed women as a fake 49er. That was
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: his story, how he built it up, how he put
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: it out on social media. Did we talk enough about that?
- 1:30:18Speaker 19: No.
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: Because all these people commenting on this like it's some
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: kind of apparatus that really is thriving and making America better.
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: I'm still waiting for somebody to tell me what I'm
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: missing in my life because I ain't plugged in on
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: all these social media accounts. Now, please tell me what
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: I'm missing. Y'all keep going back to some yearbook pictures.
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: And to see some people I ain't trying to see.
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: And at least he pretended to be a football player.
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: It's a lady here in Atlanta. Her boyfriend pretended to
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: be a cop. I mean, posed in uniforms from behind
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: the wheel of cop cars. Dajon Love, he conned 26
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: women out of what they say is about $ 1. 3 million,
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: where he acted like he was a 49er. In most cases,
- 1:31:13Speaker 2: he had built an account, had pictures, and then as
- 1:31:18Speaker 2: he sold that he was in love, he would basically
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: mention about investment that he was taking part in and
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: offer the ladies that same ability to invest. 26 Women,
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: the story. One of his.
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: At least that they have identified, is an 18-year-old that
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: he had help him that would pretend to be the
- 1:31:55Speaker 2: investment person. So they would get on a three-way, talk
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: it out, he'd have them call, they would scam as
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: a tandem, and that's how he was able to, when
- 1:32:08Speaker 2: you look at the numbers, 1.3 times 26, so Sounds
- 1:32:12Speaker 2: like they was kind of asking for 50 grand. And now?
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: To go in as an investment. You got another little
- 1:32:19Speaker 2: funny part there, Greg. He has a LinkedIn profile. It
- 1:32:24Speaker 2: is still active. Well, it still exists. Okay. Then what
- 1:32:29Speaker 2: does that mean? He built that up too?
- 1:32:32Speaker 18: That's part of the, like they said, he had a
- 1:32:34Speaker 18: Facebook and Instagram. He set up a Tinder and Hinge profile.
- 1:32:41Speaker 18: But the LinkedIn is also- What is the Hinge? That's
- 1:32:45Speaker 18: a dating app. Oh, that's a dating app too. Now-
- 1:32:48Speaker 18: I haven't heard of that.
- 1:32:49Speaker 7: When we talk about social media and the ills and
- 1:32:52Speaker 7: dangers of social media, two things come to mind. One,
- 1:32:58Speaker 7: people now regularly use AI to enhance the images or
- 1:33:02Speaker 7: completely change them altogether, thereby creating a false reality. And two,
- 1:33:08Speaker 7: because of the comfort level people have with social media,
- 1:33:11Speaker 7: It don't mean nothing to me to be on a
- 1:33:13Speaker 7: three-way with somebody asking me for money, and I'm not
- 1:33:17Speaker 7: suspicious because I communicate with people I don't know all
- 1:33:21Speaker 7: the time. They in my DMs. I'm sending them videos.
- 1:33:24Speaker 7: They watching videos of me. You see what I'm saying?
- 1:33:27Speaker 7: And so when he goes, why don't you talk to
- 1:33:29Speaker 7: this person? It used to be a time where I
- 1:33:31Speaker 7: would have to meet you in person to talk about
- 1:33:33Speaker 7: giving you some money for an investment. Now I'll take
- 1:33:36Speaker 7: this dude's word. I don't even know him, and I've
- 1:33:39Speaker 7: taken his word that this person's okay.
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: Yeah, so scam, and they have called him. I think
- 1:33:44Speaker 2: this was over a three-year period. Wow. It takes some
- 1:33:48Speaker 2: time for some of them to scam. Because you've got
- 1:33:50Speaker 2: to build it up. He was selling it through, I'm
- 1:33:52Speaker 2: a ball player, and this is an investment opportunity that
- 1:33:59Speaker 2: I'm part of, it sounds like. It's not necessarily that
- 1:34:03Speaker 2: he was saying in this kind of like, asking directly
- 1:34:08Speaker 2: for the money as a loan, he's trying to sell like, hey,
- 1:34:11Speaker 2: I'm going to put you on. I'm going to put
- 1:34:14Speaker 2: you on to make some money.
- 1:34:15Speaker 7: Some friends of mine got scammed and they said the
- 1:34:18Speaker 7: amazing part was it took about three years for the
- 1:34:20Speaker 7: scam to unravel. And for about one and a half
- 1:34:24Speaker 7: to two years of that, the person scamming them was
- 1:34:28Speaker 7: making them prove that they were worthy to do business
- 1:34:31Speaker 7: with him. No, y'all got to, you know, I'm only
- 1:34:34Speaker 7: doing business with serious people. I got to know you
- 1:34:37Speaker 7: got this amount of money. I've been thinking about this, man.
- 1:34:40Speaker 7: Y'all ain't got no experience in this. And so they
- 1:34:43Speaker 7: actually ended up kind of chasing him down to come on, man,
- 1:34:46Speaker 7: we're serious. And then after about three years of wrangling,
- 1:34:51Speaker 7: they issued money and he disappeared completely.
- 1:34:55Speaker 2: Ex-NBA player Tamar Slate. It says, athletes are repeating the
- 1:34:59Speaker 2: seventh grade to excel in sports. Comanche, Big Kenny, Babadusi,
- 1:35:05Speaker 2: you're holding your kid back. Tyrone got a full beer.
- 1:35:11Speaker 2: Y'all don't held him back so far. He's just a
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: seventh grader.
- 1:35:14Speaker 7: But Tyrone know how to eyeball weight. So I need him. And,
- 1:35:18Speaker 7: you know, that's what my customer base is in the
- 1:35:20Speaker 7: seventh grade. So Tyrone, come on, man, stay in there
- 1:35:22Speaker 7: just a year longer.
- 1:35:24Speaker 2: Well, this is to get his... His eligibility. Put him against... Basically,
- 1:35:29Speaker 2: I'm putting... So he can dominate. Dominating kid a year back.
- 1:35:34Speaker 2: My wife is a middle school teacher.
- 1:35:37Speaker 7: And for the last two or three years, one of
- 1:35:41Speaker 7: our recurring conversations is how each year some standout athlete
- 1:35:49Speaker 7: gets reclassified. Some parent comes in and you know what?
- 1:35:53Speaker 7: Junior's 6'3. He's 13 years old. He's hitting 18 points
- 1:36:00Speaker 7: a game, and I don't think he's focusing on his
- 1:36:03Speaker 7: studies enough. We need to keep Junior one more year
- 1:36:06Speaker 7: in middle school. And then by the time Junior gets
- 1:36:09Speaker 7: a sophomore, all the colleges want him. Just, man, you
- 1:36:12Speaker 7: ain't got to finish high school, Junior. Call the middle
- 1:36:14Speaker 7: school redshirt. Just come on, man. Just come to college now.
- 1:36:19Speaker 7: And that's how they're getting away with it. And I
- 1:36:22Speaker 7: thought the... The whole board of education had to be
- 1:36:26Speaker 7: on board for you.
- 1:36:27Speaker 2: To have that ability. I did too. It wasn't a
- 1:36:29Speaker 2: thing of you had the choice. It was a recommendation. They,
- 1:36:33Speaker 2: through your studies, thought that you would be better off
- 1:36:39Speaker 2: letting them repeat the seventh grade. Not something that you
- 1:36:42Speaker 2: got to choose.
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:36:44Speaker 7: And now, like you, I ask those questions. How you
- 1:36:48Speaker 7: just going to say, hold my child back? But from
- 1:36:52Speaker 7: what I understand, there are parents willing to go to
- 1:36:54Speaker 7: the lengths of coaching their children into how to fall
- 1:36:59Speaker 7: short academically so that it lines up with their request.
- 1:37:04Speaker 2: Gainesville High School here in Georgia. The Bad Producer wanted
- 1:37:08Speaker 2: to make sure y'all knew that rapper Lil Wayne's son
- 1:37:12Speaker 2: is their kicker, kicking. And I think that might be
- 1:37:17Speaker 2: the only part that is why the story is even
- 1:37:21Speaker 2: getting any news because he's playing kicker. Oh, and he's
- 1:37:26Speaker 2: been offered a scholarship from Colorado. Yeah, but if he
- 1:37:31Speaker 2: had just played another position, nobody's surprised that Lil Wayne's
- 1:37:35Speaker 2: son plays football. They're just surprised that Lil Wayne's son
- 1:37:40Speaker 2: is a kicker. I can see that. Everybody's kids play.
- 1:37:46Speaker 2: It's a lot of tons of guys who And he's
- 1:37:48Speaker 2: a huge sports fan. He's a huge sports fan. He's
- 1:37:51Speaker 2: been part of a sports agency. So he was a
- 1:37:54Speaker 2: running back. We don't see black kickers. That's what it is.
- 1:37:57Speaker 2: Bad producer. He brought me to store. We'll be back.
- 1:38:00Speaker 2: More of the Sports Talk show. He plays soccer. Right
- 1:38:03Speaker 2: after this. And he's small.
- 1:38:04Speaker 9: And he's small.
- 1:38:18Speaker 2: Don't go away.
- 1:38:18Speaker 6: More of the Sports Jot Show with Wayne Gambias coming
- 1:38:22Speaker 6: up next.
- 1:38:25Speaker 25: Everyone needs to take care of their mental health, even
- 1:38:27Speaker 25: running back Bijan Robinson.
- 1:38:29Speaker 2: When I'm on the field and feeling the pressure, I
- 1:38:30Speaker 2: usually just take a deep breath.
- 1:38:32Speaker 4: When I'm just breathing and seeing what's in front of me,
- 1:38:35Speaker 4: everything just slows down.
- 1:38:36Speaker 2: It just makes me feel great before I run the play.
- 1:38:39Speaker 25: Just like Bijan, we all need a strong mental game
- 1:38:42Speaker 25: on and off the field. Make a game plan for

- 1:39:45Speaker 13: back to the sports jar, Wayne Gandy.
- 1:39:57Speaker 17: It's Wayne Gandy.
- 1:40:06Speaker 2: It's Wayne Gandy.
- 1:40:08Speaker 21: Oh, log on so you can see the sports J-O-C,
- 1:40:13Speaker 21: even Big K.
- 1:40:16Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Sports Shock Show. I'm the Sports
- 1:40:18Speaker 2: Shock Wayne Gandy, the Hall of Famer Champ Bailey. His
- 1:40:22Speaker 2: son plays cornerback at Holy Innocent. Wait a minute. Wait
- 1:40:27Speaker 2: a minute. Champ Bailey's son played football. Yeah, over at
- 1:40:32Speaker 2: Holy Innocence. Oh, yeah, that's the story, Holy Innocence. He
- 1:40:35Speaker 2: plays cornerback.
- 1:40:36Speaker 7: Yeah, but we, you know, that's the story, Holy Innocence.
- 1:40:40Speaker 7: But no, that's Champ Bailey, son.
- 1:40:42Speaker 2: So, yeah, Holy Innocence. Hall of Famer Ed Reed's playing Shambly.
- 1:40:45Speaker 2: Holy Innocence makes sense. So, what is the... Oh, okay.
- 1:40:51Speaker 2: Can he kick, though? Yeah, yeah.
- 1:40:54Speaker 7: Champ, why you out there bragging about your cornerback son?
- 1:40:58Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. It's just, Lil Wayne, it wouldn't
- 1:41:01Speaker 2: have been a need to make no whole story or
- 1:41:04Speaker 2: be on social media if his son just was at
- 1:41:06Speaker 2: a position playing sports.
- 1:41:12Speaker 7: Speaking of social media, Uncle Charlie says, Big Kenny keep
- 1:41:15Speaker 7: the sports jock off social media. He'll get scammed buying
- 1:41:18Speaker 7: an oceanfront home and Hell, Michigan. And I asked him,
- 1:41:24Speaker 7: you don't want to sell your Michigan oceanfront property house? Like,
- 1:41:28Speaker 7: I'll middleman the deal, you know what I mean? If
- 1:41:31Speaker 7: that's all we doing. So he said, stay off social media.
- 1:41:34Speaker 7: They'll get you for a shot.
- 1:41:36Speaker 2: LSU, who has been in the news because of Lane Kiffin.
- 1:41:40Speaker 2: And for y'all people that's hating on Lane Kiffin, I'm
- 1:41:42Speaker 2: sorry that Lane Kiffin is just living his best life.
- 1:41:47Speaker 2: He's using... What is in front of him, there was
- 1:41:51Speaker 2: no rule against it. Now you got a rule. So
- 1:41:54Speaker 2: Lane can't really break the rule. But it wasn't no rule. Comanche, Abduza,
- 1:41:58Speaker 2: Big Kenny, Lane just was looking at the book. Hmm.
- 1:42:02Speaker 2: Don't say nothing about can't bring him back. Don't say
- 1:42:06Speaker 2: nothing about can't bring him back. So why y'all mad
- 1:42:08Speaker 2: that I'm using the rule? But at LSU, Kim Mulkey,
- 1:42:11Speaker 2: the Hall of Fame coach to be, Won a couple
- 1:42:14Speaker 2: of national championships. Last week, she lost a player, Kate Kaval.
- 1:42:21Speaker 2: Last week, who decided to step away from the team
- 1:42:25Speaker 2: because Kim Mulkey brought on a Russian player. And Kate
- 1:42:32Speaker 2: Kaval is from the Ukraine. See, that's really how you
- 1:42:38Speaker 2: do it. All you people that are in between. Yeah. People,
- 1:42:43Speaker 2: you got a problem, Kate Cavall is willing to stand
- 1:42:46Speaker 2: on hers. At all costs. Not to go to work
- 1:42:50Speaker 2: and then complain about it. Just, I won't go to
- 1:42:52Speaker 2: work because I ain't happy with the conditions of the work.
- 1:42:56Speaker 7: And keep your little four, five, six hundred thousand dollars
- 1:43:01Speaker 7: that I was going to make.
- 1:43:02Speaker 2: I'll go get it somewhere else. I'll go somewhere else.
- 1:43:05Speaker 2: I'm not going to play with a Russian. Isn't that
- 1:43:08Speaker 2: how it's supposed to be? But we don't do that.
- 1:43:10Speaker 2: That's standing on business. No, we'll talk about it. Hold on.
- 1:43:13Speaker 2: You're one of the main. We'll talk about it. What's
- 1:43:16Speaker 2: the equivalent of that? Excuse me?
- 1:43:18Speaker 24: What is the equivalent of that here? The Dallas Cowboys
- 1:43:28Speaker 24: is racist. interview that you're doing from the field.
- 1:43:34Speaker 7: Yeah and i'll say that every week t-shirt on i'll
- 1:43:37Speaker 7: say that every week from practice i just want a
- 1:43:40Speaker 7: new deal because i think they're holding me back because
- 1:43:43Speaker 7: i'm black and here we are in game number 12
- 1:43:45Speaker 7: and i'm still like man it's the most racist team
- 1:43:48Speaker 7: that ever paid me that's.
- 1:43:50Speaker 2: What it's like because you know they're holding me back
- 1:43:53Speaker 2: but i'm I ain't left yet.
- 1:43:55Speaker 7: I'm going to cash these checks now. I'm saying I
- 1:43:59Speaker 7: deserve three million, but that don't mean I ain't going
- 1:44:02Speaker 7: to cash the 2.5.
- 1:44:03Speaker 2: That's what I mean. We don't do this. Right.
- 1:44:06Speaker 19: No.
- 1:44:06Speaker 2: This young lady, for whatever her feeling is about the
- 1:44:09Speaker 2: Ukraine and Russian war and the family and all that,
- 1:44:12Speaker 2: if you go get this player from Russia, I'm not
- 1:44:17Speaker 2: going to play here. Kim Mulkey, basically, kind of in
- 1:44:21Speaker 2: a nutshell, she's basically saying, Her job is to make
- 1:44:25Speaker 2: LSU a powerhouse. She has nothing to do with that.
- 1:44:30Speaker 2: It had nothing to do with trying to make them
- 1:44:31Speaker 2: friendly or friends. She's trying to get the best players
- 1:44:34Speaker 2: she's supposed to be able to get. She did not
- 1:44:36Speaker 2: want Kate Duvall to leave, but that is why her
- 1:44:41Speaker 2: and her father decided that she would no longer be
- 1:44:45Speaker 2: part of the LSU team by making that move. But
- 1:44:49Speaker 2: I think she had something to do with it.
- 1:44:52Speaker 18: Like the Russian players, like it has nothing to do
- 1:44:55Speaker 18: with what's going on over there.
- 1:44:58Speaker 2: That don't stop people over here. And her daddy said,
- 1:45:01Speaker 2: let's go. It's the principle. It's the principle. That's what
- 1:45:03Speaker 2: I'm saying. We have few cases of that. Of standing
- 1:45:08Speaker 2: on principle. We actually try, you know, we call somebody something,
- 1:45:13Speaker 2: but I want to be part of it. Yeah. What's
- 1:45:17Speaker 2: the coach name that's suing the NFL?
- 1:45:21Speaker 10: Oh.
- 1:45:22Speaker 2: Brian Flores. Brian Flores.
- 1:45:23Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:45:24Speaker 2: You know. Yeah, but until they fired you, you seemed
- 1:45:29Speaker 2: to be hit cool with all that. They fired you
- 1:45:33Speaker 2: all of a sudden. Oh, they were racist, but they
- 1:45:37Speaker 2: still hired me. And then they fired me because they
- 1:45:42Speaker 2: were racist. So that is how they're doing. I guess, guys,
- 1:45:49Speaker 2: we'll get into the question and answer so everybody can
- 1:45:54Speaker 2: see what's going on. I asked a question based on LeVar,
- 1:45:59Speaker 2: excuse me, Lonzo Ball and Michael Porter Jr. being on
- 1:46:04Speaker 2: a show where they were asked about a billion dollar question.
- 1:46:10Speaker 2: If you knowingly knew by receiving the billion dollars, Big
- 1:46:14Speaker 2: Kenny and Comanche Griggs, it is kind of a show
- 1:46:17Speaker 2: called The Box. Right. That is kind of like this question.
- 1:46:20Speaker 2: You can receive a billion dollars, but by receiving that
- 1:46:23Speaker 2: billion dollars, somewhere on the planet, somebody is going to
- 1:46:28Speaker 2: die for you accepting it. Who would like to go first?
- 1:46:33Speaker 2: I would. Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. Big Kenny
- 1:46:37Speaker 2: says that Yes. People die every day, B. He would
- 1:46:42Speaker 2: take that billion dollars. People die every day, B. A
- 1:46:46Speaker 2: lot of people die that I wish didn't die.
- 1:46:49Speaker 7: I didn't have any way to stop that. I didn't
- 1:46:52Speaker 7: benefit any way from that happening. You telling me that
- 1:46:55Speaker 7: somebody just doing what naturally happens every minute of every
- 1:47:00Speaker 7: hour of every day.
- 1:47:01Speaker 2: But they're doing it because you took the billion. That's
- 1:47:05Speaker 2: law averages. Somebody was going to clock out this hour.
- 1:47:09Speaker 2: Comanche Greg said, yes. I ain't never had a bill.
- 1:47:13Speaker 2: He would take the billion dollars and let somebody die.
- 1:47:18Speaker 2: I don't know who died. I don't know how they died.
- 1:47:21Speaker 2: But they died because you took the billion, though. They
- 1:47:24Speaker 2: would still be alive if you didn't take the billion.
- 1:47:27Speaker 2: People die every day.
- 1:47:28Speaker 7: I know folks can push folks' buttons over $ 150.
- 1:47:31Speaker 2: DJ Thriller, a.k.a. Bad Producer, says no. He would not
- 1:47:40Speaker 2: take the billion dollars. No, sir. We'll talk about the
- 1:47:45Speaker 2: answers that Lonzo and Michael Porter and the sports jock
- 1:47:49Speaker 2: when we get back from break right after this. Don't
- 1:47:55Speaker 2: go away.
- 1:47:56Speaker 8: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamby is
- 1:47:59Speaker 8: coming up next. When I smoke weed, I get.
- 1:48:01Speaker 2: Lost in the music. I like to isolate each instrument.
- 1:48:14Speaker 15: When I smoke weed, I get lost in the music.
- 1:48:17Speaker 15: I like to isolate each instrument. The rhythmic bass, the
- 1:48:21Speaker 15: harmonies on the piano, the sticky melody.
- 1:48:24Speaker 2: Hey, hey, hey, hey.
- 1:48:29Speaker 23: Careful, babe.
- 1:48:29Speaker 10: There's someone crossing the street.
- 1:48:31Speaker 2: Sorry, I didn't see him there. If you feel different,
- 1:48:34Speaker 2: you drive different. Don't drive high. It's dangerous and illegal everywhere.
- 1:48:40Speaker 2: A message from NHTSA and the Ad Council.
- 1:48:42Speaker 4: And now let's talk about something exciting, life insurance.
- 1:48:45Speaker 13: Three quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical
- 1:48:49Speaker 13: piece of financial security, yet only 49% actually have life insurance.
- 1:48:53Speaker 22: When I was 25, me and my wife were just
- 1:48:56Speaker 22: getting started with our family and thought we lived forever.
- 1:48:58Speaker 2: Life insurance was the last thing on my mind.
- 1:49:00Speaker 4: What about you? Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 1:49:03Speaker 22: When I was 40, with a kid in college and
- 1:49:05Speaker 22: bills piling up, I was worried how my family would
- 1:49:07Speaker 22: survive without me. That's when I made an appointment with
- 1:49:09Speaker 22: the insurance informant.
- 1:49:10Speaker 13: Information gives you power and life insurance gives your family security,
- 1:49:14Speaker 13: no matter what stage of life you're in.
- 1:49:16Speaker 22: Now that I'm older, I don't worry about whether I'll
- 1:49:18Speaker 22: leave my family with bills or benefits.
- 1:49:20Speaker 2: The answer is easy.
- 1:49:21Speaker 13: Whether you're 25 or 50, whether you earn a little
- 1:49:24Speaker 13: or a lot, all you need is the insurance informant
- 1:49:26Speaker 13: to help you build a foundation of security. Because without you,
- 1:49:30Speaker 13: your family will have two options, benefits or bills. Which
- 1:49:34Speaker 13: legacy will you leave behind? Log on today, benefitsorbills.com. That's benefitsorbills.com.
- 1:49:43Speaker 23: Nobody had to tell your grandparents not to drive while
- 1:49:46Speaker 23: using their typewriters. Why should it be any different for
- 1:49:50Speaker 23: us kids and our cell phones? Distracted driving was the
- 1:49:53Speaker 23: cause of more than 3,000 deaths in 2022.
- 1:49:57Speaker 2: Come on, we're smarter than this.
- 1:49:59Speaker 23: Let's put down the phones and focus on the roads.
- 1:50:02Speaker 23: Drive safe, everybody.
- 1:50:05Speaker 4: Don't drive distracted.
- 1:50:06Speaker 20: A message brought to you by the National Highway Traffic
- 1:50:08Speaker 20: Safety Administration, Project Yellow Light, and the Ad Council.
- 1:50:15Speaker 2: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Gandy.
- 1:50:19Speaker 3: Now, it's time for the scoreboard, where we put a
- 1:50:23Speaker 3: spin on life and sports and how they intermingle on
- 1:50:28Speaker 3: the sportsjackshow.com.
- 1:50:31Speaker 12: With Wayne Gandy.
- 1:50:33Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Sports Talk Show. I'm the Sports
- 1:50:37Speaker 2: Talk Wayne Gandy.
- 1:50:38Speaker 8: Lonzo Ball, Michael Porter Jr.
- 1:50:40Speaker 12: They admit it.
- 1:50:41Speaker 2: They let someone die. For a billion dollars. That was
- 1:51:02Speaker 2: the question. And trust me, little games like this throughout
- 1:51:06Speaker 2: my NFL career and occasionally since I've been retired, we
- 1:51:12Speaker 2: have these what if kind of questions. Now, Big Kenny,
- 1:51:15Speaker 2: Comanche Greg said, sure, they would, which to me, if
- 1:51:20Speaker 2: you say yes to this question, it easily means that
- 1:51:25Speaker 2: the Indecent Proposal movie you're gonna say yes. For the
- 1:51:32Speaker 2: billion dollars. If Jeff Bezos come with the milli, I
- 1:51:39Speaker 2: mean the billy, That ain't anonymous. With your wife. That
- 1:51:43Speaker 2: ain't anonymous. The death was anonymous.
- 1:51:47Speaker 13: No.
- 1:51:48Speaker 2: You don't know who it is. He said you don't
- 1:51:50Speaker 2: know who it is. That's what I'm saying. So if
- 1:51:52Speaker 2: somebody died, that's anonymous.
- 1:51:53Speaker 8: But 30 seconds later, it might be one of your
- 1:51:54Speaker 8: family members.
- 1:51:55Speaker 7: But that's still a random occurrence. That might have been
- 1:51:59Speaker 7: on the way anyway. But for Jeff Bezos to roll
- 1:52:01Speaker 7: up to my house and be like, let me knock
- 1:52:04Speaker 7: her down, no.
- 1:52:04Speaker 2: That would go back to not standing on business. So
- 1:52:07Speaker 2: it's a no for Jeff Bezos. It's a no for
- 1:52:09Speaker 2: my wife. It's a no for your wife? Yes. It's
- 1:52:13Speaker 2: a no for my wife. It's a no for... We
- 1:52:16Speaker 2: gotta have a live. Y'all some devils for real. Pray
- 1:52:20Speaker 2: for y'all. You said we had a couple people alive.
- 1:52:24Speaker 7: Jared Lloyd, our loyal Raiders fan from New York said
- 1:52:28Speaker 7: people die every day.
- 1:52:29Speaker 2: Gotta go, gotta go.
- 1:52:30Speaker 7: Plus, I can save more people with a billion. Elder
- 1:52:34Speaker 7: Casey said... that I don't want no parts of that.
- 1:52:39Speaker 7: That's a no. That's a no. When the bad producer
- 1:52:45Speaker 7: said he wouldn't, he said, he a lie. You don't
- 1:52:48Speaker 7: have to lie, Craig. And I repeated, you ain't got
- 1:52:52Speaker 7: to lie, Craig. Someone said they believe bad producers. Nikki
- 1:52:56Speaker 7: said she believed a bad producer. And Uncle Charlie said
- 1:53:00Speaker 7: he trying to hide behind That BS name, betting at
- 1:53:04Speaker 7: William Conway Twitty, take that billion dollars, and life gives
- 1:53:08Speaker 7: you more than a billion.
- 1:53:09Speaker 2: Dollars ever could. No, Uncle Charlie, it's not worth it.
- 1:53:11Speaker 2: That's what Mickey Kemp says.
- 1:53:13Speaker 8: I would give up my wife before I'd weather for
- 1:53:15Speaker 8: somebody to die. Because, hey, I'd get me another woman.
- 1:53:19Speaker 8: You can't get another life.
- 1:53:21Speaker 2: And wives cheat every day, just like people die every day. Yeah,
- 1:53:24Speaker 2: but I don't want that. So you would take Bezos' money? No,
- 1:53:27Speaker 2: I wouldn't take Bezos' money. He said no. He wouldn't
- 1:53:30Speaker 2: take either of the money. Yeah. Right. Yeah, I can't
- 1:53:35Speaker 2: believe that. It's whatever, man.
- 1:53:37Speaker 8: Hey, sometimes you got to have something of integrity about yourself.
- 1:53:41Speaker 8: I mean, I act a fool on some things, but
- 1:53:43Speaker 8: every time you got to be a donkey about everything.
- 1:53:45Speaker 2: Well, I would not let somebody die for a billion dollars.
- 1:53:53Speaker 2: I would not do that. Would you let someone sleep
- 1:53:56Speaker 2: with a woman you know for a billion dollars?
- 1:53:58Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:53:59Speaker 10: Okay.
- 1:54:00Speaker 2: If it was your girlfriend, like your Significant other.
- 1:54:05Speaker 17: Yes.
- 1:54:07Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. You can get another woman. But
- 1:54:10Speaker 2: I'm not going to let somebody die. Don't let nobody die.
- 1:54:13Speaker 2: You can have her. I'm not going to let anybody
- 1:54:17Speaker 2: die for any. There's no negotiation with that. With death.
- 1:54:20Speaker 2: Of trying to let somebody die.
- 1:54:22Speaker 10: Right.
- 1:54:22Speaker 2: Do I believe you can do something that you should
- 1:54:26Speaker 2: die for? Sure. But I'm not going to just sign
- 1:54:29Speaker 2: off for some money. Yeah. So I don't know that
- 1:54:34Speaker 2: it's just how you feel on different questions. And then
- 1:54:40Speaker 2: you never know until the suitcase with the money is there.
- 1:54:45Speaker 2: In front of you. So everybody has an answer until,
- 1:54:51Speaker 2: because it's hypothetical. Yeah, it's hypothetical.
- 1:54:54Speaker 7: But the day the suitcase get put in front of me,
- 1:54:56Speaker 7: I'm thinking about my cousin in the hospital.
- 1:54:59Speaker 2: I don't want to risk it. You know what I mean?
- 1:55:02Speaker 2: Everybody says they will jump in front of the bullet
- 1:55:05Speaker 2: for their kid. Until somebody pull a gun out and
- 1:55:08Speaker 2: start firing. And then they run. So it's human nature.
- 1:55:14Speaker 2: That's why we call it hypothetical. What you think you
- 1:55:16Speaker 2: would do. Miss Nikki said life gives you more than
- 1:55:19Speaker 2: a billion dollars. Ever could. I read that part already.
- 1:55:23Speaker 2: He just was big up in Miss Nikki because she'd
- 1:55:26Speaker 2: been supporting him all. Hey, every once in a while.
- 1:55:28Speaker 2: With the social media.
- 1:55:29Speaker 8: Hey, it's good to have Uncle Charlie. Uncle Charlie usually
- 1:55:32Speaker 8: aren't with me, but today.
- 1:55:34Speaker 2: Here we go. Just since we started on social media,
- 1:55:37Speaker 2: let's end on social media. Vic Kenney, Comanche Greg. I'll
- 1:55:42Speaker 2: let you go, Greg, first. Bad producer, tell me what
- 1:55:45Speaker 2: I'm missing out of my life by not having social media.
- 1:55:49Speaker 2: How my life would be better if I had social media.
- 1:55:55Speaker 18: Maybe you want to connect with all those people that
- 1:55:58Speaker 18: you don't actually talk to anymore. Former teammates, classmates, whoever.
- 1:56:06Speaker 18: And my life is missing them.
- 1:56:08Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:56:10Speaker 2: Big Kenny, what am I missing?
- 1:56:11Speaker 17: Stress.
- 1:56:12Speaker 13: Stress.
- 1:56:13Speaker 7: I come in here many a morning to do shows
- 1:56:15Speaker 7: with you and all of the stuff that people are
- 1:56:18Speaker 7: stressing about that's out there on the social media zeitgeist
- 1:56:21Speaker 7: that gets sent to you even though you don't care
- 1:56:24Speaker 7: about it. Be in your spirit because I done got
- 1:56:27Speaker 7: the chat GPTs and the group texts and the people
- 1:56:30Speaker 7: sending me links from these social media sites or just
- 1:56:34Speaker 7: scrolling my timeline and everybody mad about it today so
- 1:56:38Speaker 7: I done seen 82 posts about mad people.
- 1:56:41Speaker 2: You don't get none of that.
- 1:56:42Speaker 20: No.
- 1:56:43Speaker 7: Ever bought into your world. So that's what you miss.
- 1:56:46Speaker 7: Some of it's not even real. Agitation and stress.
- 1:56:48Speaker 2: That don't sound. Yeah, you don't need it. You don't
- 1:56:51Speaker 2: need it. You'd be all right without it. Bad producer?
- 1:56:53Speaker 8: Hey, I think for the purposes of what you do,
- 1:56:57Speaker 8: being in media, I think social media, a lot of
- 1:57:00Speaker 8: people want to interact with you sometimes where they can't
- 1:57:04Speaker 8: possibly be on the show or certain things. They can
- 1:57:06Speaker 8: get your opinion or question what you think and then
- 1:57:09Speaker 8: you can pick and choose what you want to answer.
- 1:57:11Speaker 8: That would be That's what would benefit, I think, would
- 1:57:13Speaker 8: benefit you from social media, just as you being a
- 1:57:17Speaker 8: former professional athlete. And if there's some people out there,
- 1:57:20Speaker 8: Steelers fans, Saints fans, Rams, and Falcons fans, even though
- 1:57:24Speaker 8: you don't like us, we have a question for you,
- 1:57:26Speaker 8: and you can answer.
- 1:57:29Speaker 2: And my life is missing being able to answer your questions.
- 1:57:33Speaker 2: Think about what you're offering me. Because I think that's
- 1:57:36Speaker 2: what Big Kenny is saying.
- 1:57:37Speaker 8: No, he's talking about you're going to be seeing everybody
- 1:57:41Speaker 8: else's problems.
- 1:57:42Speaker 2: I'm talking about that, too.
- 1:57:44Speaker 7: The other day, I walked in here, and you asked me, man,
- 1:57:48Speaker 7: did you see that, where that comedian was saying that
- 1:57:51Speaker 7: that dude really don't do no material. I wanted to
- 1:57:54Speaker 7: know your thoughts on that. And my real thoughts on
- 1:57:57Speaker 7: that is... All them dudes. I don't know none of them.
- 1:58:02Speaker 7: They don't know me, and they ain't have nothing to
- 1:58:04Speaker 7: do with me. And you bought.
- 1:58:06Speaker 2: Me into that situation. All I'm saying, they may ask
- 1:58:08Speaker 2: about a play or see that– pull? Or should that
- 1:58:11Speaker 2: guard have pulled on that play or something? And he
- 1:58:14Speaker 2: could give them a great answer.
- 1:58:16Speaker 7: And again, the answer that he gives will be from
- 1:58:20Speaker 7: his living room. He wasn't out there.
- 1:58:22Speaker 2: But he's typing it on the living room with everybody
- 1:58:24Speaker 2: else around him. He don't know them people. He don't
- 1:58:26Speaker 2: play for that team. It'll be like the Mannings brothers.
- 1:58:28Speaker 10: Uh-uh.
- 1:58:30Speaker 2: On the Monday Night Football.
- 1:58:33Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm saying if we on a show on a
- 1:58:36Speaker 7: platform kind of like this one.
- 1:58:38Speaker 2: I thought I did that. I thought he did that.
- 1:58:40Speaker 2: I do a couple of shows a week that way.
- 1:58:41Speaker 7: He answer people once or twice a week when they
- 1:58:44Speaker 7: ask questions. I read the questions to him, and he'll
- 1:58:47Speaker 7: give his answer. And so when he off the air,
- 1:58:50Speaker 7: he don't have to be bothered with them people. That's
- 1:58:53Speaker 7: what I'm saying. There are times when, as a comedian,
- 1:58:56Speaker 7: I just want to be Kenny Johnson.
- 1:58:58Speaker 2: Listen to what I'm saying. Let me say this, though.
- 1:59:02Speaker 2: It's not placating, sir.
- 1:59:04Speaker 7: Sometimes fans, because it's rooted in the word fanatically, don't
- 1:59:08Speaker 7: have a when they want to cut it off point.
- 1:59:11Speaker 2: But he can cut it off because he don't have
- 1:59:13Speaker 2: to answer. I'm saying. He knows what he want to
- 1:59:15Speaker 2: answer and when to answer.
- 1:59:16Speaker 7: I'm in the grocery store with my family as Kenny Johnson,
- 1:59:19Speaker 7: and you got big Kenny questions for me. This the
- 1:59:22Speaker 7: wrong time to ask, though. I'm not in the mood
- 1:59:25Speaker 7: for that right now. But you feel like you.
- 1:59:28Speaker 2: Entitled to that. So that's why you ask him on
- 1:59:29Speaker 2: social media, and you won't walk up on it. He
- 1:59:32Speaker 2: walking by himself, minding his business. Nothing what you just said.
- 1:59:35Speaker 2: Because Comanche was just joking. Big Kenny was– on point.
- 1:59:39Speaker 2: What you're offering me is really nothing my life is missing.
- 1:59:44Speaker 2: You sound like you're offering me work. I got enough work.
- 1:59:49Speaker 2: See all them leaves outside? I got to get them up.
- 1:59:52Speaker 2: You ever had 15 text message notifications in a minute
- 1:59:58Speaker 2: and 30 seconds? Yes, very annoying. Annoys the hell out
- 2:00:03Speaker 2: of you. When you're in a group thing. And they
- 2:00:05Speaker 2: just ding, ding.
- 2:00:06Speaker 7: And then you read it and it's on some, hey,
- 2:00:08Speaker 7: did you see that dude who ain't got no material?
- 2:00:11Speaker 18: Man, if you don't get off my phone. I think
- 2:00:15Speaker 18: if we, Fabulous, you could take this week and have
- 2:00:22Speaker 18: a list of things like to convince him to get
- 2:00:27Speaker 18: on social media. Like, try to really sell him on
- 2:00:31Speaker 18: social media. You have research, you have statistics, a PowerPoint presentation,
- 2:00:38Speaker 18: and see if that.
- 2:00:39Speaker 2: Will do it. Go ahead, you work that out. No,
- 2:00:42Speaker 2: we leave it up to you. You're the one who
- 2:00:44Speaker 2: think I need it.
- 2:00:44Speaker 8: No, I'm just saying it can help with this interaction.
- 2:00:48Speaker 7: You're going to have to get through the barrier of
- 2:00:50Speaker 7: the fact that he already sees it. I see it
- 2:00:51Speaker 7: as a moot point to try to convince him.
- 2:00:53Speaker 2: Oh, I mean, come on, man.
- 2:00:54Speaker 8: I've been doing this 16 years trying to convince this
- 2:00:56Speaker 8: man to even just say hello on Twitter.
- 2:00:59Speaker 2: I used to sit beside him at the games. I say,
- 2:01:02Speaker 2: welcome every Monday and Thursday. I say, welcome. Tell him
- 2:01:05Speaker 2: what he's thinking. Don't I? He's identifying as a liability.
- 2:01:09Speaker 18: Technically, you're on social media already, just not in the
- 2:01:11Speaker 18: same way as we are.
- 2:01:13Speaker 2: Him, he not addicted. There's a lot of people that
- 2:01:16Speaker 2: do social media in a healthy way. I'm right here.
- 2:01:18Speaker 2: You ain't got to go here. I'm saying, well, the
- 2:01:21Speaker 2: bad producer says he's addicted. He can't stop. Him, that guy,
- 2:01:25Speaker 2: he says he cannot stop.
- 2:01:27Speaker 8: No, I didn't have MySpace or Black Planet when you
- 2:01:29Speaker 8: only have five, but.
- 2:01:30Speaker 2: You still doing cocaine today. And we are in the ocean.
- 2:01:36Speaker 2: The truth is, he will throw your a * *
- 2:01:38Speaker 2: in the ocean.
- 2:01:40Speaker 12: It's time to wrap things up on the Sports Jack
- 2:01:43Speaker 12: Show with Wayne Gatney.
- 2:02:06Speaker 2: When you hear the sounds of the ocean, it gives
- 2:02:07Speaker 2: us more shock. Just a minute to vent. We'd like
- 2:02:09Speaker 2: to thank you for calling in anytime today with your,
- 2:02:14Speaker 2: excuse me, your social media posts or whatever Vic Kenningham
- 2:02:18Speaker 2: called it, Hinge, whatever that was you were saying. That
- 2:02:23Speaker 2: was him. Vic Kenningham. Some kind of button you're supposed
- 2:02:25Speaker 2: to push. Y'all had me all confused today. I don't
- 2:02:28Speaker 2: know about all that knob hob or whatever. That's why
- 2:02:31Speaker 2: Uncle Charlie said, keep you clear. But if you miss
- 2:02:36Speaker 2: any of today's show, you can go to Apple Podcasts,
- 2:02:38Speaker 2: Amazon Podcasts, Audible, Deezer, iHeartRadio, Spotify. Hear the replay of
- 2:02:45Speaker 2: today's show. Going in the ocean today is my man,
- 2:02:48Speaker 2: The Beard. James Harden, the Hall of Famer to beat.
- 2:02:54Speaker 2: One of the greatest scoring machines we have ever seen.
- 2:03:00Speaker 2: Says that he regrets that he sacrificed money, time, and
- 2:03:10Speaker 2: points trying to win a championship. Come on, James. That's
- 2:03:17Speaker 2: kind of how people see you. You're going to be
- 2:03:20Speaker 2: the greatest scorer that never was, in a sense. My
- 2:03:27Speaker 2: question to you when you say statements like that, do
- 2:03:30Speaker 2: you regret it because you didn't win it? Because if
- 2:03:33Speaker 2: you had won it, I don't think you would have
- 2:03:35Speaker 2: made that statement. If you went out and did those
- 2:03:39Speaker 2: things and won the championship, I don't think you would
- 2:03:42Speaker 2: have said regret. You're only regretting because you made those
- 2:03:46Speaker 2: sacrifices and lost them. But Beards, you already got that
- 2:03:51Speaker 2: kind of sentiment with society. Like maybe you don't care.
- 2:03:58Speaker 2: Just give me my money. I'm just speaking for me.
- 2:04:04Speaker 2: But I think your greatness is bigger than that. And
- 2:04:07Speaker 2: I don't think you regret it because you did it.
- 2:04:10Speaker 2: You just regret it because it didn't turn out the
- 2:04:13Speaker 2: way you, that's human. That's human. Ask people about their
- 2:04:18Speaker 2: kids that's in lockup today. All them sacrifices they made,
- 2:04:21Speaker 2: they regret driving to Tennessee for an AAU basketball game,
- 2:04:27Speaker 2: only for you to get back home and rob the mini-mart.
- 2:04:31Speaker 2: That's all. So for that, James Harden.
- 2:04:36Speaker 4: Walk the plank.
- 2:04:38Speaker 2: Walk the plank. For Big Kenny, the funny man himself,
- 2:04:50Speaker 2: Comanche Greg, the bad producer, and for you all out
- 2:04:54Speaker 2: there that's addicted to social media, see if you can
- 2:04:56Speaker 2: take the weekend and just don't do any social media.
- 2:04:59Speaker 2: Can you do it? Challenge yourself. It's possible. Challenge yourself.
- 2:05:05Speaker 2: As we always say on Thursday, we'll see you in
- 2:05:07Speaker 2: the future.
- 2:05:08Speaker 10: Peace.
