- 0:00[SPEAKER_02]: Hey everybody, welcome to another episode of cheesy popcorn.
- 0:03[SPEAKER_02]: My name is Annavar.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_02]: I am co-host of this show and also co-host of another show called Can I Call You Dad that I do with my son Andrew.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_02]: You may have seen that both are on the rise and that work only on the rise and that work.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm here with my good friend and also co-host of this show.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_02]: Good friend of mine, no one in a long time, hang on.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: I can't remember my name because it's Chris Miles.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_02]: Chris Miles.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: Or as somebody likes to call me Chris smiles because they said that, you know, when we put my name together, it says Chris smiles instead of, oh, that's right.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, yeah, so welcome to this edition of this edition of cheesy popcorn, you may have heard me on other programs here on the rise network.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_00]: Like one called you on music row.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: And then we also have the trivia thing as well.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: The lunchtime trivia you did a couple of times.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_02]: I did a bunch of those.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: You did a couple of those as well too, and I'm featured in a couple of those as well too, so they were great fun.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: There we go.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_02]: Normally it's autumn the meco, who does that?
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: I believe.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, is that how you pronounce her last name?
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the meco.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it was, I thought it was domicol or something like that.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_02]: No, you're taking a pizza.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_02]: You're hungry.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_02]: You're taking dominoes.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, dominoes, pizza's actually gross.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_02]: Don't say that, they might be a sponsor.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_02]: We love dominoes pizza.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_02]: We love them.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_02]: Chris was just goofing around.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, uh, here we are, uh, last week, we said we're going to, uh, we previewed Frankenstein, uh, Guillermo de Tarros Frankenstein, a new one, and we're going to talk about that in a little bit, but I actually did my homework this week, Chris, I know you're going to be amazed, but I know what's coming up, which is usually, you know, I'm not going to be macro, you actually looked at this spreadsheet, I'm not only that, I have, I have actual facts on these movies today.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_02]: when you do stand up and the way I do stand up is I like to try to work the crowd so you're always you know you're always improvising and if it bleeds over until your regular life too when you have that kind of mindset so but this time I said you know what this is all about I said I'm going to be
- 2:19[SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to bleed into your mindset.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: I see what it is.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: Unsuccessful.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just kidding.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: Totally.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_00]: I appreciate you looking at the thing, though.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: Because that's what it's there for.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: But it's whatever.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: It is what it is.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: We all have our own little nooks and crannies.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: The way we do stuff and it doesn't matter.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: But one thing we do agree on is we agree on the fact that we
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: like cheesy popcorn.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: We do.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: We don't necessarily agree on movie sometimes.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: But that's okay.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_02]: Because we're half about 50%.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_02]: I think.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: So far.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: Critic teams.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you know, oh, by the way, we should do last episode.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_02]: I was remiss.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_02]: We didn't do a shout out to Ebert, Cisco and Ebert.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_02]: They had a, I want to 20 some years or a big anniversary, they did a thing on, they did a thing on television about them.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_02]: I knew, I knew both of them because I worked at ABC for 10 years, so I got to meet Roger and I got to meet Gene a few times, not socially, obviously, but I did a few things where they were involved.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I think they did the Emmys when you were with us, and they did some teletons, so both really nice guys.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't agree, I probably didn't agree on 80% of their critiques to be honest with you.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_02]: And I went to see movies that they gave thumbs down, even if they both gave a thumbs down.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_02]: But I thought that they were really good at what they did.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_02]: And I had great respect for both of them, and I, you know, they both passed away, so they were doing a tribute to them.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_02]: And I just wanted to give a shout out, you know, we're trying to do this, basically what they did.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_02]: And I think you have to give homage to the people who came before you, so.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: And they're ready to run their teleprompter for an episode of Kitt Owls, sneak previews, what was a sneak previews?
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: So I got to run their teleprompter.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm bomb day to the guy who was a cameraman for Channel 11 for some for a while.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: No way.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_00]: To meet him, I get to meet Jeff Smith, the frugal girl.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah?
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: I got to meet John Malkovich.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: Oh cool is that it's a it's a it's a west play I can't remember the guy's name Sam West I think is maybe the writer Anyway, that's cool.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so I over a T.T.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_02]: W by Northeast and where I went to school by the way It was my college.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_02]: That's my alma mater
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, what is I didn't know that I did theater at Northeastern with the theater I was a lesbian, yes, that's been that's been right Alright, so yeah, we What that's what we do here?
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: We talk about movies TV shows sometimes
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: We do move easy.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we sort of have a script.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: One thing we can agree on is that there's always going to be a movie we're going to review.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: We're always going to talk about the movies that are coming out.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: And we're going to give you honest opinions.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_02]: Our honest opinions, but honest opinions nonetheless.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: For sure.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: For sure.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: So speaking of honest opinions, let's move into the movie that we said we were going to review, which is what we're going to talk about, what's coming up.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_02]: And then pick what we're going to review next time.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and we didn't have to talk either.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: We usually, usually we have to talk.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_02]: We do, because that was prepared today.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_02]: And I know that's throwing you a little bit Chris.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_02]: I've thrown you for a loop.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_02]: It's like when my wife comes home and she sees that the, the carpet vacuum is like shock sir.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_02]: because she sees the trail, you know, I love the fact that vacuums leave the trails for evidence.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_02]: So if your new husband or an older husband, vacuum, you'd be surprised at the perks you get when you vacuum.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: They leave a mark without actually turning the mandal in case you didn't know that.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't know that.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't want to say that, but they do know that, but I never did it that way.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_02]: When I vacuumed that vacuum and she knew, she knew when I vacuumed, you know why?
- 6:05[SPEAKER_02]: Because I hear her into furniture every time.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: And she hated it.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_02]: She's like, what did you do?
- 6:11[SPEAKER_02]: I go, I vacuum.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_02]: She goes, yeah, but you move the sofa go.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I thought it'd be better over here.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_02]: She said it's not put it back.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: And there you go.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: That's what it's like to be married folks.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: Let's take a look at the movies that are coming out this weekend.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: First, the keeper, which I don't really think is the keeper, but we'll tell you about it anyways.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: Malcolm and Liz take a romantic anniversary trip to a remote cabin and then Malcolm unexpectedly leaves for the city and Liz finds herself alone and confronted by a sinister presence.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, I saw the paper for this and I was kind of like yeah, it's trying to be a horror flick It's trying to be a thriller and I just kind of went.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, wait for it till it comes out on the day That's a wait for cable for me.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, absolutely To get it with the time to say wait for streaming now wait for streaming.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_02]: I'm 171 I'm I still have a VHS machine that's blinking 12 o'clock just so you know
- 7:12[SPEAKER_00]: That would drive me out of shit.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_02]: You know, when I worked at ABC, I worked at ABC.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_02]: People knew I worked at ABC on my wife's relatives, my relatives.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_02]: Every single time I go to someone's house, and they bought a new VCR, you know what they say?
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: Can you please put up my VCR?
- 7:27[SPEAKER_02]: Well, they said, you work at ABC, right?
- 7:28[SPEAKER_02]: I go, yeah, I go.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_02]: You get my VCR to stop blinking 12.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_02]: Like I'm a producer.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_02]: I produce TV shows and documentaries.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not a technician But I did.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_02]: I said yes.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_02]: I can fix your 12 o'clock blinking Next week we'll work on colors.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_02]: I would tell them.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: There we go.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so Bring the little color palette with you to the following week.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes I did sometimes I brought multiplication tables
- 7:56[SPEAKER_02]: because you got to work on that, how about now you see me now you don't number three, the first two are fabulous.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: First two are fabulous, I'm a little worried about this one.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think so, I think this one's going to deliver.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's when we're going to go see right for next week.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, because there's some other movie too we should talk about before.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_02]: Okay fine, I like that one.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, this one features Morgan Freeman, Jess.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: They're all the same people and a couple new people.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: Jessica Smith.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: Just a Smith.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, sorry, Dave Franco, uh, and then, uh, Arianna Greenblatt.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: So there.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think she's no, or no, she was in, if she was in the last, the last movie, but she wasn't in the first No, yeah, she was in the last one.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing that one.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, go ahead.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: The running man.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's a tough choice because the original running man, you may not remember was Richard Dawson and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: I remember because that was one of those shows.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: Remember how he told you before my cousin said cable.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: I was a kid and they would put three movies on a tape because they would extend play.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: He got six hours.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: The running man was one of the movies that they gave us for Christmas.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: It was the first day one year.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: And I wanted that tape out because I used to watch the running man like non-stop, I was great.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: It was great.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: It was great.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: It was great.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_00]: Richard Dawson something who do you love and who do you love that's like the intro yep and when they did that didn't happen in the previews for this running man I was kind of like oh the TV announcer guy is gonna the game show host is gonna suck for this but uh yeah it's it's literally a reboot of the running man it's a deadly competition working essence uh known as runners must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: And everybody it's everybody it's in this one.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: It's everybody.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: Right the original was assassins correct Blades, oh yes, Blades.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_02]: I was one They were a lot and our Arnold was excellent in it excellent.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_02]: He was played the people the world beautifully
- 10:07[SPEAKER_02]: This guy this look the preview looks really good.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_02]: I'm I want to see that one too.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be a toss up between now you see me in and this one Glenn Paul is in it so all you fix that are in love with him because you guys are
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, that's not discriminating.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: Well, okay, anybody who finds him or anybody who finds him attractive, which now I'm not discriminating anyone.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: This is I can't be for you.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, as well, you know, I don't know.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: I, I'm such a friend of your original.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that I almost don't want to see this, because if this one's like as bad as I think it's going to be, well, or if it's any good, then I'm going to be like, what the flock of seagulls?
- 10:46[SPEAKER_02]: No, you like the here's the thing I'm a big Star Trek.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_02]: I you know them, but up the original Star Trek with William Schatter I've never watched I've watched maybe one or two episodes of all the other ones.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_02]: There's nothing for me When they when the Clint when they had a no when they had a clang on his first officer in the enterprise I said that's ridiculous so when when the Star Trek movies came out with Chris Pine
- 11:10[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't want to go because I thought like you thought, no, I'm not racing, I'm not racing my memories of the original Star Trek that go see this movie and I think it was, I think it was Andrew who got me to go see it and I left saying this was a good move.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_02]: The movies, the new movies with Chris Pines and the rest of the gang, they did justice to the original without being the original.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_02]: they did a great job.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_02]: The other ones, the next generation and that, sorry, not my cup of tea.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're messing out.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: There is nobody like Picard.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just telling you that right now.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: One of the greatest actors ever.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I love him.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_02]: I love him on a bunch of different things.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_02]: Just not.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_02]: He's not.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_02]: He is not William Shattner.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_00]: No, not William Shattner, because he's better.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, Jim.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_00]: Jim.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so there you go.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_02]: So, okay, so there's another one coming out wicked the second the next wicked Well the 21st.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry the boy in the harron the boy in the harron that's the other one I got the boy in the harron here to 15 because we had to stop because here's the thing wicked is coming back to theaters this week Oh, it's a limited release
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if it's limited release but what they're doing is they're bringing it out this week so that you can remember a team and then next week wicked too
- 12:39[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to come out.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_00]: So that wicked, the wicked that came out last year with Ariana Grande and the other girl who's there.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_00]: I can't think of right now.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_00]: That's coming back.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe in limited release this week.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_00]: It's being released again.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_00]: So people can go on watch it.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_02]: No, this wicked for good, which is the second one.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_02]: It says, I know, but it says has an early access screening on November 18 with the wide release scheduled for November 21st.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, of course because November 18th is what like next week Thursday.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's Tuesday.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_00]: So next week Tuesday.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but that's it.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: That's so that's like a special preview that people aren't going to be able to see unless they have like, you know, unless they're bougie.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so we will but we are gonna review that when I hope because I that I do like the wicked series Yeah, of course.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_00]: I go see that ways to find them.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_00]: I'm kidding.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_02]: So so we have now.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_02]: You see me or Running man Adina Mazzado In those roles, so, but that's all I'm gonna say I agree, but I think they but I think Adriana Ariana and the other girl.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_02]: I think did a nice job and I Come on you got
- 13:46[SPEAKER_02]: The master of this kind of a role in Jeff Goldblum, as the wizard.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_00]: He should have died on the toilet in Jurassic Park like he's character.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_00]: I disagree.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_00]: Even in the fly?
- 14:03[SPEAKER_00]: It was great in the fly.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, of course.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_02]: So, well, how are we going to figure this out?
- 14:11[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to decide this.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_00]: We flip the coin.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's between running man and, uh, and now you see me now you don't.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_00]: So, okay.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to have to flip the coin.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_02]: Well, here.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_02]: We'll do this.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to think of a number between one and ten.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's not going to help.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_02]: You guessed a number.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: So, you can, you can just pick whatever number you want.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_00]: I can say whatever I number I want and then you can turn around and tell me I'm no because you want to go see how you see me now Okay, we'll go back to our time No, no, no, no, no, no, here's something I've been wanting to do Uh-oh, and maybe this is the time Drag paper scissors?
- 14:41[SPEAKER_00]: No, how about we do this?
- 14:42[SPEAKER_00]: How about you go see now you see me now you don't and I'll go see the running man Oh And then we can come back next week and since there's two movies that we couldn't decide on we can give the fans to A two for
- 14:54[SPEAKER_00]: for the price of all.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_00]: A two for.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_00]: How's that?
- 14:56[SPEAKER_02]: And in dodgebot, what did he say?
- 14:57[SPEAKER_02]: You can use you get a big extra for that.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_00]: Oh.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_00]: You can dodge a ball, you can dodge a wrench.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's the other line.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_00]: Right, well that's the biggest line.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I don't know.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_02]: It's a big line, but the other one with the announcers on the side and the one announcer says he got he caught the ball and hit the guy that's a two-fer and the color guy who's kind of goofy and seems like he's high says usually you got a fiather for that.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_00]: You can go see the running man, and I'll go see now you see me now you see me.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so there we go fans You're getting a two for you can two for two from two for one.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_00]: All right, okay, so moving on to the movie to review the movie to a view Del Toro, rather Now this did come out and in the actual release a couple weeks before Halloween so if you got to see it You got to see it before Halloween and have all the Halloween and the theater and in the theater, which I don't know if that would have changed anything for me
- 15:55[SPEAKER_00]: It was great to be able to watch it at my own leisure.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_00]: It was so great that I had to watch a twice because I fell asleep a couple of times.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_02]: No way.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_00]: We got a nice comfy couch.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that doesn't help.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_00]: I sit in one particular place on the couch and I'm out.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't matter.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: It also depends on what time of the day I actually go watch the movie.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_00]: I watched the movie a little too close to bedtime.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_00]: You can guarantee that I'm going to fall asleep.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_00]: But I didn't fall asleep because it was movie with boring.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_00]: I fell asleep just because I was in my comfy spot.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but I did go back and we watch a couple of things because I was like, oh, what happened here?
- 16:30[SPEAKER_00]: What happened here?
- 16:30[SPEAKER_00]: Now here's what I'm going to say about this movie.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_00]: Say it.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I'm glad that for once in the Frankenstein series.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_00]: And now I could be wrong here because I'm not remembering a lot from the, um,
- 16:44[SPEAKER_00]: Robert De Niro version of against time, which I absolutely love.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_00]: To me, that's my favorite friend.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_00]: It's not even love.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_00]: Like the Boris Carlo version and then the Brian, the Frankenstein, the old classic like MGM universal.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: Those are great in their own right.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_00]: And they set the standard so to speak.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that's then then that's whatever you was expecting like friends
- 17:10[SPEAKER_00]: Robert De Nero is Frankenstein took a different approach, and I love the fact that Guillermo Doros Frankenstein took another different approach, and it actually made the monster look layered, which I thought was absolutely amazing.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_00]: He's also big, like they casted somebody who was big, but not stalky big, just like big.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_00]: Like Paul at least maybe that shot it from a different angle, so he looked taller than maybe he was So that was great and then they showed you the building of the monster, which I don't know if it ever done In a Frank's it Frank's time movie.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like this no and this is Can be a little graphic.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_00]: There was some tendon pulling and like the hands and stuff like that See the finger move while you pull that the tendon in the guys hand But if you if you're queasy about stuff like that, you're not gonna see a movie like this true
- 17:56[SPEAKER_00]: You know, but there could be people out there that want to see Frank's Frankenstein because they like the Frankenstein thing and think it's going to be like the classic version and it's not it's rated arm and it's rated arm for isn't it's not that grotesque no couple of scenes where you know there's a little bit of gore so to speak.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_02]: Not a lot, though.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's very minimal.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's minimal.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_00]: It's very minimal.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it's very well done.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think the actors that were in it played a great job now, the individual playing Frankenstein Victor Frankenstein, Isaac, I'll get his name right one of these days.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_00]: Most of us know him from Star Wars fame.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_00]: He was in the what's 789 Star Wars movies.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_00]: plays Elizabeth Jacob Eldorie plays the creature and yeah there's some great cast members in it like some some great supporting actors with Christophe Laws yeah exactly I was going to be the I'm sorry
- 18:57[SPEAKER_00]: the harlander yeah and i mean the jump on you it's okay so there's a great cast it's a great flick um i like the fact that they told the story from both sides they told the story from the victor side then they told the story from the creature side very different i also love the fact that the creature could actually speak complex sentences for once
- 19:16[SPEAKER_00]: which I thought is what it should have been.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I didn't, I meant to do this when I didn't do this.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_00]: I wanted to see how close it was because it's a long time since I've read Frankenstein, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_00]: So I wanted to see how close it was to the actual book, and I don't remember.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_00]: But great, I think this movie is great.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna give it a seven.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's not fantastical, but it's watchable.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_00]: Would I watch it again?
- 19:42[SPEAKER_00]: Probably, because I'm sure there's some things
- 19:46[SPEAKER_00]: and but it's two and a half hours long yes so it is a little long um i think there's certain parts of it where they could have sped some things up and probably didn't need to tell us many of the the sub plot lines you will agree um and then the other thing is that i don't remember singing but i don't think uh our friend Guillermo's even in the movie at all i didn't see him i didn't see him at all so i was kind of directing i was like
- 20:10[SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't I wasn't so I get that wasn't you know anyway, so yeah, so for me.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's a it's a it's a solid seven okay, you know, there we go.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_02]: All right, well I would I'd go higher.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's a I think it's a nine.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my opinion and I think it's a it's a definitely watch it movie.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_02]: I'd watch it again absolutely I'd love the prologue
- 20:36[SPEAKER_02]: When that when the word prola came on I was I was perked it hurt me up I just stopped me for a second.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_00]: I did like that I love that the way that they set up like the chapters Yes, I thought was really cool.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_00]: I forgot about that.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for reminding me that I love that That I want to point out is that I think it's really cool like when they go to tell the monster side They go to like chapter monster and then when they tell Victor side.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's chapter Victor's absolutely I thought that was cool
- 21:00[SPEAKER_02]: I like that a lot.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_02]: I thought the storyline was so different from any other Frankenstein movie that I thought that set it apart right off the bat.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, starting with the ship stuck in the ice on its way to the north pole when I saw that I'm like, oh my god, how many ships must have got stuck like that?
- 21:23[SPEAKER_02]: And you never think about that, you know, people made it to the North Pole way back when and they didn't have the kind of ships that we have today that are icebreakers.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_02]: They were stock a lot and probably a bunch of people are buried under the ice up there.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_02]: So I really liked that part a lot.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_02]: I liked the guy that played the captain of the boat too.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_02]: I thought he did a fantastic job.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_02]: I thought the acting, like you said, was super really good acting all the way around, everybody in this movie.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_02]: I thought acted well.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_02]: I thought the effects were just enough without going over the top.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_02]: You know, there's some, there's been some Frankenstein movies where he effects, I like it.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I might, no, I love that.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_02]: I love that Guillermo de Toro's direction.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_02]: I thought was spot on.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't think there was, there wasn't anywhere where we went out.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't work.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that doesn't work.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that doesn't work.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_02]: And sometimes when you're a first time director that you can spot stuff like that.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_02]: I love where the roses, but there were some moments in that movie where Danny DeVito, that was a directorial debut, there were some moments where I kind of felt that.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't feel that here were Guillermo de Toro.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and there was a review that I read online, and it said, uh, Guillermo del Toro was born to direct, and this is why.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_02]: this movie is why.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_02]: So I thought that was really good.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_02]: The cinematography was exceptional, the lighting, the camera movements, all of that was great.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_02]: The actors, Jacob, me, Oscar was fantastic as Victor Frankenstein.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_02]: I thought he'd played it.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_02]: I thought he played the emotion of somebody who was trying to do something like that and the passion.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_02]: I thought that really came through really, really well.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_02]: I agree the pace and spots was slow, but I think over up moved along really well.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_02]: I'm disappointed that it didn't stay at Theodore's longer.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_02]: I would have loved to see it in a big screen.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't think it was supposed to.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's what it's just, I know.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_00]: Out there so that it could put it out there?
- 23:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_00]: In time for Frankenstein, time for like the Halloween thing, but I don't think they ever intended for it to be out there.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_02]: But this is a big screen movie in my opinion.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I saw it on an 85 inch.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_02]: It's just a pretty big TV.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_02]: But if I saw this at a theater, I mean, it's a whole different experience.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_02]: I actually gave it a 9.5.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_02]: I said, I said 9, but I gave it a 9.5.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_02]: What I want you to again, my answer will be heck yes.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_02]: The original Mary Shelley's is still my favorite, which is why I'm glad they took a different road here, because like we were talking about earlier, but you don't want to go see running man because of the original, I think that they're so different.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_00]: So what's your original Mary Shelley's, what's one of you comparing it to?
- 24:08[SPEAKER_02]: The original Mary, it's called Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_02]: That's the name of the movie.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_02]: That's one of my, that's the original origin.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_00]: The new old version?
- 24:16[SPEAKER_02]: No, the one before that.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_02]: Because one before that.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_02]: That's the one I like.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, I like that.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_02]: I like the movie a lot.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_02]: I wanted to like it because I like Guillermo.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's a fabulous actor.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_02]: And I like everything he's been in.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_02]: I like, so I thought, well, this is going to be different because he's directed.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_02]: And then you're right, well, I don't, unless you're a missed it, you're not in it.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_00]: No, I Which is unusual for actor directors usually they give themselves a least a cameo that's why that's why I said it I was like I was a little disappointed because I figured at the very least he was going to be like Somebody at the ball
- 24:49[SPEAKER_00]: Even Alfred Hitchcock was in all of his movies, so yeah, that was the only, that was the only thing that I meant by that Is that you know, he didn't give himself a little bit of screen time and I thought at the very least he was in like, you know, guests I didn't miss him in there at all No, he's not missed, but it was just one of those like I didn't notice him at all and I was kind of looking for him and you know, so anyway
- 25:09[SPEAKER_02]: So the originals, you know, brighter Frankenstein, great movie, Peter Cushing, and I don't know if you can get every horror movie ever made with Peter Cushing has been great.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_02]: Peter Cushing, and Christopher Lee.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_00]: Him and Christopher Lee were like the horror movie.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Christopher Lee was always Dracula and Peter Cushing was always hunting him.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_02]: And it was great.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_02]: If you've never seen a Peter Cushing Christopher Lee,
- 25:35[SPEAKER_02]: horror movie you are missing out go find it almost all in black and white somewhere in color but they're just great well written well acted just enough effect the kind of stuff to to make it fun but not campy like some of those old movies were you know Boris Carloff original Frankenstein this guy
- 26:01[SPEAKER_02]: did a beautiful job as well as Boris.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_00]: I think this creature is better.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's better because there's technology in the script and the cinematography.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_02]: But if you go back and watch Boris Kartloff, I mean, Boris Kartloff was...
- 26:14[SPEAKER_02]: Smoke, good.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_02]: I like that there was no big mob scene.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_02]: with this one.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_02]: Well, so it's always a village is like coming with the torches.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_00]: So actually, I like that.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_00]: I did look up the article that I was looking for.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_00]: They compare the differences between Mary Shelley's novel and Del Toro's version of Frankenstein.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_00]: And there's a lot of differences.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_00]: That's good.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_00]: I like that.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_00]: So I like that.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_00]: It's not.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_02]: I think that makes it work.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_00]: it does it justice it does the original or justice but then it takes things in a different way it's like that so like one of the differences is that in the novel Victor's family is actually a loving family and in this version of the movie Victor's dad is like a tyrant and you know slap some of that that sounds more and
- 27:00[SPEAKER_00]: realistic but that's also but I also think that's del Toro inserting his own thing because he's done with a lot in movies where he's the the the estranged family or the abusive it's always he seems like it's one of his staple points so okay well we agree that we both like it I mean other horror movies
- 27:23[SPEAKER_02]: brighter Frankenstein.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_02]: I love that and then of course you can't talk about Frankenstein movies without mentioning young Frankenstein and Peter Boyle.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_02]: Peter Boyle was a great Frankenstein.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_00]: It's telling even a horror movie that's a comedy.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_02]: It's technically to horror movie with comedy.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_02]: Marty Feldman, Peter Boyle, Madeline Con,
- 27:48[SPEAKER_02]: I got you, I mean, Evie, Evie, someone, Evie, Evie, normal, I won't get mad at you, promise you won't get mad.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_00]: Those are your first and second place if you're runners up in your first place.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_02]: My runners up are brighter, frank, and Stein, and young frank, yes, fine.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, you went out of the genre.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_02]: Way out.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_00]: Well, no, Brian Frankis sign, I mean, that's a horrible movie that, you know, to Frankis sign the original, so they were talking about the universal monsters here that kind of set the theme for things I went a little bit newer.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_00]: The my favorite.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_00]: sci-fi and horror movie is always going to be aliens always always always which one aliens the so aliens yeah the first one the second one oh the second one not the original not the one where it's just Ripley on the ship and all that kind of stuff um aliens the sequel which I think is always great um and it's just got some great moments like with the actual aliens like there's more than one alien
- 28:46[SPEAKER_00]: which I think is awesome because that's what it should be.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_00]: So there's a lot of horror there's a lot of jump scares and all that kind of stuff in it and it's just it's just a great movie great lines you know game over man game over you know the great great line as well and then that's aliens is my runner up here though because there's another horror flick and I'm going old here and I'm going old here for a reason just because you can
- 29:09[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's because this movie still hits in all different levels.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_00]: There's been some TV show spin-offs of it as well recently as well, but I, and there was a remake that, what's that guy's name, Vincent, what's his nuts?
- 29:26[SPEAKER_00]: There you go.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_00]: No, Vincent, not vain.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_02]: That Vincent Van Gogh.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_02]: He's kind of a new guy, isn't he?
- 29:32[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_00]: Vincent Van Gogh?
- 29:34[SPEAKER_00]: He's an artist.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, he's the Chicago inn.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_00]: Vincent.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_00]: He was in Swinners.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, enough, enough for real?
- 29:43[SPEAKER_02]: Vincent, enough for real?
- 29:44[SPEAKER_00]: No, that's, that's no.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_00]: That's the guy who played the bug.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_00]: He was great in that, by the way.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_00]: He was in, he was in, we were talking about dodgeball.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_00]: He was in dodgeball.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he was in, he was Swinners.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_00]: He was the guy that was like, you're like a bear.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_00]: You're like a bad enough bunny.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_00]: You got these big bear paw.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_02]: What are you talking about uh, Vince Vaughn?
- 30:02[SPEAKER_00]: Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn, Vince Vaughn
- 30:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_00]: Psycho is going to be my favorite horror movie of all time.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_00]: The original the original yes the original with uh
- 30:30[SPEAKER_00]: Anthony Perkins generally and the was it the the corn syrup blood.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's what he said it finally was it was corn syrup So yeah, oh, it just it just hits on so many levels.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_00]: It does and it just even compared to horror movies nowadays.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think horror is best when it's left to your imagination.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, absolutely less is more with a horror film.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_00]: And I think the way that we've gone now, like, saw, just, I don't need to say that stuff.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_02]: No, I don't need to say that stuff.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's not the first one.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_00]: Thought it was great.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_00]: And then each one just didn't make it.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's got great concept, you know, trying to escape life.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_00]: Never seen any of those situations.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_00]: And when I was looking at, like, some other people's greatest horror movies with all time saw came in it like number four.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_02]: I don't get it.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_02]: I don't get any of those movies to me as you know, I do stand up.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_02]: So as as a comedian to me, all those movies like Saw, Chainsaw, Massacre, all those things are like a comedian who goes on stage and swears every other word.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's just for shock.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_00]: So you try to say you got something against Eddie Murphy.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_00]: No, I like any Murphy, but Richard prior for the matter.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Richard prior was, Richard prior's swore with intent and reasoning for it.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_02]: Any Murphy not so much in my opinion, Richard prior swore because he was making important social statements at the time.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_02]: He was way ahead of his time, actually, I believe.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_02]: And so he needed to do that at that time.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, George Carlin didn't swear as much in his early years, but he started swaying more later on.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_00]: Which was interesting.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_00]: I always wanted to know the answer to his one question.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_00]: How is it that we park on a driveway, but drive on a parkway?
- 32:19[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_00]: I always want the answer to that.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_02]: There is no answer to that.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_02]: There is no answer to that.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, why is there air?
- 32:28[SPEAKER_00]: there's just no answer that was uh... no that was a uh... that was the cut the title of a bill caused be all but why is it air to fill up volleyball's football's basketball's that was the answer and then some people who do know me that listed as program a company to be like i cannot believe he didn't mention jason michael mires or friday and here's the thing friday is
- 32:52[SPEAKER_00]: You know, nine men on street three is probably like my number one three my number nine my number one three that was good my number one three anyway He that's probably like my third favorite horror movie, but that's only because of the lines that Freddy has in the movie I that the gore and all that kind of stuff you know
- 33:09[SPEAKER_00]: It is what it is.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, that's where I'm going to fall as far as horror movies are concerned.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, we got your picks as well too.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_00]: So we know where everybody falls in on that.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_02]: I like Aliens.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_02]: I like the first daily and better than the second one.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_02]: Where she's in the forklift.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's it's like a it's not a forklift.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's like a forklift.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_02]: It's a forklift that turns into a transformer.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's like a forklift robot mechanism kind of thing.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_00]: It's like a look.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_02]: The first one was The first alien that's it.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_02]: You could just you could only suspend belief for for so much in a movie When she's fighting in the forklift with the got with the alien and then she
- 33:54[SPEAKER_02]: and somehow she's, there's a whole opens up and of course your space you're going out, right?
- 34:01[SPEAKER_02]: And the alien gets dragged out through the hole.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_02]: And she's hanging on with one hand at one point, okay?
- 34:10[SPEAKER_02]: And a tiny little, itty-bitty top and shorts and the alien goes flying.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_02]: Just disappointed because the top didn't come off.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_02]: It's not, I didn't care that we didn't see anything.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_02]: I don't really care about stuff like that, but I'm just sitting there going really.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_02]: There's no way, you know, she's tiny in this huge, first of four cliff goes through the hole, which is you, then the alien goes through the hole into space, but not her, and not anything she has on.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_02]: And just, so the second aliens didn't do as much for me.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_02]: The first one, really, really, maybe I love it.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_02]: Love the first alien.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_02]: I love the first predator, I love the first predator, I didn't like the second predator.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_00]: The second predator wasn't that good.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_02]: No, the first predator was excellent.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, and the only other predator movie outside of that that was good is predator versus aliens.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_02]: No, didn't like that either.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_00]: I liked it.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_02]: It's like when they started doing, there was King Kong, there was Godzilla, then there was King Kong versus Godzilla.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, I can't really take a break.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_02]: Take a break.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_02]: Two great movies of before their time.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_02]: The original King Kong is slightly better than the remake, I think, because you have Ferry in there.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_02]: And even though the effects I can't be in corny, I think it's still a better movie than the one they remade in my opinion.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_00]: Ooh, brutal.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, I think.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_02]: And he said, and like it, I just said, I think the original was better.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_02]: OK. That's all.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_02]: So there you go.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_00]: Well, and that's it.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's the show.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_00]: Because we can agree to disagree.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, we can agree to disagree.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_00]: And that's just the way that it works.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_00]: So it's all good.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_00]: But that cheesy popcorn folks, that's what we do here.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_00]: We talk about movies that come out recently.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_00]: We talk about what we thought about them.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_00]: And then we give you some other movies that we think you might enjoy watching as well inside of a particular genre.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_00]: And so next week, we don't have a genre, because no, watch in two different movies.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll figure out what movies we'll talk about.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe we'll just talk about other movies you found entertaining or something.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see how it runs out.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_00]: Because I'm going to go review the running mad next week.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_00]: OK, you're going to review.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to review now you see me now you don't.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_02]: So why don't we do this?
- 36:24[SPEAKER_02]: Let's try this on for size, as they say, or run out of the flagpole.
- 36:29[UNKNOWN]: OK?
- 36:30[SPEAKER_02]: I'll go see now you see me now you don't you go see the running man, but also next week you you reviewed the original running man and the remake as a comparison okay but there's no comparison with this these two there's no no I'll go back and watch the original now you see me and compare to three because we think three is going to might be disappointing because the first one was great but I don't but it's not the same movie it's not even the same story like
- 36:58[SPEAKER_02]: But it basically is the same, yeah, no, you won't try that.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_00]: No, I think it's a good idea.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it was a good idea.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_02]: And here you are, put me down.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm not putting you down.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_02]: I just feel like I'm my dad again, and when he came home from work, and he was mad at me.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_00]: Well, there we go.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, so no, I just, I feel like I have a comparison contrast.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_00]: You have a,
- 37:21[SPEAKER_00]: Paris and contrast to the same okay fine but no I like the idea we're going to run with it I think that's the way we need to go you can watch the original while the first now you see me now you don't and then you can say is it as good as the first one right so they go and I could say is the original running man better than the remake or whatever so okay same kind of thing so we'll call it comparison contrast for next time okay well too so there you go and that's the episode folks so remember we'll see you next week and until we see you next week keep some popcorn out for us
- 37:50[SPEAKER_00]: the cheesy kind.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_02]: Amen.
