Latest / EDGE AI POD / Transforming the Edge with Generative AI: Unraveling Innovations Beyond Chatbots with Danilo Pau, IEEE Fellow from STMicroelectronics
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Hi everyone, my name is Danilo Pau.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Hi everyone, my name is Danilo Pau and, well, thanks to join me and all the speakers and TANIML Foundation for this exciting forum which is going to elaborate even more the topic of generative AI at the edge.
- 0:46Speaker 1: So we are going to go beyond large language model and chatbots and continue our journey to see what's happened and the evolutions of generative AI at the edge.
- 0:57Speaker 1: So we are going to have a great list of speakers today and tomorrow.
- 1:03Speaker 1: But before to introduce each speaker, I would like to thank, on behalf of the Technical Program Committee, pete and Davis, the strategic partners which are giving us all the support we need enthusiastically to make happen these and many other events, enthusiastically to make happen this and many other events.
- 1:27Speaker 1: So, thanks to all the strategic partners and thanks to TANIML Foundation for all the support, the initiative, the energy, in particular, to make it happen this exciting event.
- 1:39Speaker 1: You know we had a first forum on March.
- 1:45Speaker 1: It was chaired by Davis Sawyer.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Thanks so much, davis, you did a great job.
- 1:52Speaker 1: I was really impressed by the forum that you chaired and at the point I felt the urgency to start to do something on the topic of generative AI, so it was very inspirative, underline the interest that the topic is representing for all the community, and there are all the video and presentation available, recorded and stored on YouTube channel.
- 2:36Speaker 1: There were discussions, a lot of discussions, so you may want to review all of these later on, but really the work that Davis did helped very much to create the ground for the next forum, this one, for the next forum, this one.
- 3:08Speaker 1: So what we are trying to do today is continue to understand the state of the art of generative AI at the edge.
- 3:13Speaker 1: What does it mean?
- 3:14Speaker 1: What is the edge?
- 3:15Speaker 1: Does it exist already or maybe will exist, which means that there will be a transformation.
- 3:25Speaker 1: So what kind of transformation are we looking at?
- 3:28Speaker 1: On algorithms, on software, on chips, on silicon, on tools, on applications, on methodology from EDA standpoint, but as well as how to design generative AI workloads at the edge, how to design generative AI workloads at the edge.
- 3:47Speaker 1: So these are really the things that we are eager to look at it, look at them, and we would like to hear more inputs from our speakers and obviously, we would like to get inspiration.
- 4:00Speaker 1: There will be evolutions.
- 4:03Speaker 1: The first forum really gave us the push, the energy to start and to move forward on generative AI at the edge.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Certainly people activated like me, like many others, certainly people are working in these directions and so we need to hear from them and understand how generative AI is going to impact.
- 4:26Speaker 1: The edge, as we know, is fully deployed on the cloud, as it is today, but we want really to democratize, to make generative AI for the masses, so we need really to understand and to look what transformations are happening and the final objective is to inspire the community all of us represent, thanks to TinyML Foundation, which created an awesome community.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Then we need to exchange our developments, to discuss and exchange our ideas, to discuss and exchange our ideas to inspire many others, because ultimately, we want to move forward all together and show the impact of innovation, which certainly will be huge, and generative AI at the edge is expected to be a huge and breakthrough technology impacting everyone's work and also life.
- 5:31Speaker 1: So today we will start with a great speaker list.
- 5:35Speaker 1: I would like to primarily thank Dave, roberto Chen, alok, seung-yang, arniban and Alberto to have accepted to be speakers with us today and to share their point of view from a technology standpoint, but also from the context of how this technology is changing the tiny ML landscape.
- 6:06Speaker 1: And, last but not least, I would like also to thank a lot Pete Bernard and David Sawyer and Rosina.
- 6:14Speaker 1: All together, we set these two days in an outstanding way and I hope you will enjoy it.
