- Big Country: Alright, welcome in guys. This is episode fourteen of the Altitude Problems Podcast. how we do tonight, Pat? PV: Doing pretty good. How are you doing? How are you doing, the native? The Nativ: Pretty good guys. Thanks for having me. Big Country: Yeah, anytime it's our you know, our most coveted guest, the native, you know. He's on for the third time, right? The Nativ: Honorary goes. Big Country: Third time or fourth time? Can't remember. We're getting we're getting PV: Probably fourth. Big Country: so f so deep into twenty twenty six, man. These episodes are just getting just lost in my mind. but The Nativ: Might as well change the co ho or guest to co host. Big Country: Hey man, we'd love to have you. You know, it gets a little dry sometimes. Better listeners think that as well. but let's get The Nativ: Only maybe Big Country: straight into things, boys. unless Pat you have anything to update on F one, assuming no, because they're not racing it right now, right? PV: No, no races yet. Yeah, not till this weekend. Big Country: Yeah. So we'll have something for next week then. but let's get straight into it. So we all went to the game on what was that Thursday? No, today's Thursday. PV: Tuesday. Big Country: Tuesday, yes. we saw the Rockies get swept by the Dodgers officially yesterday. But you know, we almost saw them make a comeback on Tuesday night. We also gotta see, you know, one of the greatest players of our generation and another homer. but you guys got anything to add for the Rockies, man? The Nativ: Nah man, it was a good time. We got the three dollar beer. PV: you know. Yeah. Yeah, I mean they're still hitting good. The Nativ: That was cool. PV: Yeah. Big Country: Ian. Ian, go ahead. The Nativ: Shohei hit that bomb, that was pretty tight. I kinda forgot what jersey I was wearing when he hit that bomb. Stood up, started clapping. Big Country: Yeah, that's right. This dude started clapping like he was who's his first fan he's ever had. The Nativ: Yeah, I kinda forgot where I was. You know, to be fair, the the rest of the statements seem to be standing up and clapping too, so Big Country: Yeah, I think that's more of a problem that we have with the Colorado fan base. You know, I feel like this team's on an upward trajectory and we need to start supporting them again. And anytime the Dodgers or any like big name team is in town it then feels like a home game. We need to reverse that. So The Nativ: Me and me and P V here had a conversation the other day. I saw a post on Instagram it was like what sports the hardest to be like for your team to like be like super bad. What was what was it exactly, Pat? Do you remember? Big Country: I I saw that very post. It was like what's what's the sport that you're it's like when you're in the shit, what is it hardest to be the fan of? Something like that. The Nativ: Yeah, dude, I I think it's baseball, bro. I think it's I think it's baseball for sure. When the Rockies are shit, man, like I lose like all like interest in MLB in general. And and then with that being, like, the the season is just in the middle of like the summer where there's really no other sports going on too much. So it just like I just like it's just a dry spot for sports when the Rockies are shit. Big Country: Yeah, I c I can agree with that. So The Nativ: When they're good dude, it's cool. Like don't get me wrong. I I mean that's like such a bandwagon thing to say, but like when when they're good. Big Country: Yeah, i for the casual baseball fan, it's it's easier to, you know, turn on the game or go to a game even or want to like just be encapsulated by baseball if your team is good. I mean, I'm just hoping this this Dodger success starts to run out soon. They got a lot of crappy contracts, so you know, I'm not saying it's gonna happen this year or next year, but they're gonna feel some of these you know, pains from these contracts in a few years and I can't wait. So The Nativ: Yeah, no doubt. Big Country: Pat you got anything to add? PV: I think it's good to see the Rockies at least still getting some hits, you know, staying alive in these games. there've been a lot of games that I went to where we almost make the rally. we're still staying alive in these games. We're not giving up and it's nice to see us at least give the effort to almost make that comeback 'cause it does make it exciting even if we don't end up pulling through. Big Country: Yeah, I mean Rockies were down four to one. Last night came all the way back and seven tied it up. Ultimately to lose and extras, you know, 'cause seems like You just don't know how get that that hit it feels like late, you know, to set him over. But that's what good teams do, and that's why the Dodgers usually win those. So anyways, but we're playing a lot better can what's up? The Nativ: Schaefer cracked me up. Big Country: You you like Shafe? The Nativ: He's alright, bro. He it just cracked me up. He he's like, all those boys guys in the locker room. Big Country: Those my boys. I love Shape, dude. He gets me fired up. I'll never forget his first ejection when he just takes out the the big ass thing of bubblegum. He just slams on the ground and then starts talking shit to the scrape. Either The Nativ: Yeah, I don't know. Big Country: way, he's got those boys like buzzing too, you know. He's got them like instilled that confidence. Like it doesn't matter who's out on the other side of the field. Rocky's can go toe to toe and win. At least offensively. Pitching out. The Nativ: No, I I honestly don't mind a bit. PV: Yeah, the pitching definitely not. Big Country: Extended Mickey at the deadline, dude. I feel like this team I'm not saying next year we're gonna be any good, especially with an impending lockout. You never know what the next season's gonna be like, but This year's been ten times better. The Nativ: No, already. It already has been. Big Country: We're we're gonna have our best year in the last since I wanna say twenty twenty one. So it'll be our re best record. Maybe twenty twenty two. Which is not saying much because we lost a hundred games for three straight years. But you know, I think if once we break that mark of not losing a hundred games, that's only up from there. So anyways, let's get into what we really care about, at least for the next six months. with the Giants. I can't remember if it was over the weekend or ear just earlier this week. But you guys feel like this is like a pretty impactful signing on that on the depth of the Giants, or is he just kinda kinda just like I don't know. Is he just there to be there? The Nativ: I think it moves with the needle from the giant. PV: Think he's I don't know. I think he's really more so there for depth. I think Scat's the obvious RB1, and I think that they have a decent backup in Tyrone Tracy that they're probably gonna rely on more as the RB2, mostly because he's been in the system for longer. so I do think Najee, you know, he brings in some depth and maybe eventually want to get rid of Tyrone Tracy because he does have a lot of fumbling issues, and does is not a good blocker whatsoever. He's the one that blew the blocking assignment on the play where Jackson Dart got smacked in that joint practice. So they're pretty upset about him with his lack of ability to block. So I think that is a big reason why they brought in Najee. But I still do think it's more of a depth thing and more to kind of put some strain on Tyrone Tracy and make sure that he really gets his blocking down if he really wants to keep his job. Big Country: Yeah. let you comment here in a second, but I I also feel like I don't think they truly trust Scat in in full. I don't I feel like he's a very reckless player and he could fairly easily be out from doing something stupid, you know, just injury wise. So I feel like, you know, this is honestly a great sign with him. He He gets a solid back that I don't think has that many fumbling issues. He's had proven success in this league with the Steelers. Obviously he went down early with the Chargers last year. We didn't get see what he got to do. But like I didn't think that was a bad signing for the Chargers last year. And this is like a no-risk signing for them as well. PV: Yeah, yeah, I agree. It carries no risk, which really helps their case here. The Nativ: Why did he did you think he just wanted to sit out of camp for a little bit? Why do you what do you think he like got signed so late in camp? I'm sure other teams like recalling him still Big Country: I think it was more teams not having like enough trust maybe in his like availability because he's coming off the Achilles. It's a long process, string stringuous process as well. So I don't know if it was less like maybe maybe he's looking for the right opportunity, you know, where he could maybe slot into like an R V two to maybe go into R B one role two, you never know. I was The Nativ: Yeah. Big Country: I to be honest with you, I didn't even know he was unsigned. I thought he was already on a team. The Nativ: I I kinda did too. Big Country: kind of just flew under the radar. You know, I look at a team like my team, like a team that's you know pe kind of have like some shitty running back depth. Why don't we go out and go get him, you know? So interesting. Interesting to say the least, do I think it affects like scats like you know early season fantasy value? No, but you ever know in the NFL man. A running back can go down with an ACL injury or Key Lee's any time as we saw with Najee last year. So it's not not a bad option to have. I'm not saying to go draft this guy though, 'cause there's let's be honest, there's no value in drafting him early. So or even up the fifteenth overall. Fifteenth round. So yeah. PV: Yeah. Yeah, fantasy wise, you know, not much value there unless somebody goes down in that backfield. Big Country: Yeah. Even i if you The Nativ: Well we're Big Country: if like Scat goes down, it's Tyrone Chase's job to lose at that point too. And now at that point it's probably I think they still have Devin Singletary too, which is crazy. I think so. The Nativ: Well what were Nazi's stats the year before he went down his last year to the Steelers, remember or no? Yeah. Big Country: Well, I know he had four straight thousand yard seasons. Yeah. The Nativ: Yeah, yeah. Big Country: I don't know he wasn't as efficient. The Nativ: That's a that's a tough back to watch, dude, honestly. It's a it's a tough watch, but I Big Country: Shit. Yeah. I I agree with that just because like it's he's he's not like that shifty guy that he was in college either. He's like a brute force north and south. You know, he's a north and south runner that thinks he can go east to west, but he can't. So anyways. The Nativ: Maybe he figures that out. Big Country: Yeah, well, I don't know if you guys saw, but Sam Laporta is in question to start week one. if you guys don't No, but you guys know who the line's backup is for tight end? PV: is it Brock Wright? Big Country: I think you might be right on that. Either way, Saint Par is a big part of this offense and you know, taking away like a weapon is only gonna, you know, clog up, you know, defenders to like, you know, Jameer and I can't think of anyone's name right now. But Amonra or Jamie. PV: Amun Ra Jameson Williams. Big Country: Yeah, it's you know, it it's just gonna that middle of the field could just go elsewhere. Essentially it feels like now, especially with Laporta's like no s this threat as a tight end, you've all seen it's usually pretty good. But what do you think of those Ian? The Nativ: I don't know, dude. I mean I really what when did he get injured? Big Country: This week. The Nativ: This week, huh? What did he do last year? Wasn't he injured a lot last year? Big Country: I don't think he had as big of a he I think he was injured for a portion, but he wasn't as good of a stat wise that he did his rookie year. The Nativ: No. Big Country: but nonetheless he's still a pretty decent top I'd say probably d maybe argues a top ten tight end in the league. The Nativ: Yeah, I mean PV: Yeah, he's probably top ten. Big Country: Yeah. I mean I think this hurts the Lions more than they think too. He's probably a The Nativ: Yeah. Big Country: good blocking tight end. You know, he's a great safety valve, you know. I'm not sa I'm not saying like this is gonna change the whole entire outlook of the Lions season or give wins or losses 'cause no one player can probably do that except for maybe a quarterback. But it certainly hurts. PV: Yeah, and I think it The Nativ: No doubt. PV: hurts a lot of the production of the offense. I think your tight end one, like you said, is that safety valve and is that guy that runs a lot of those safe routes for you. So I think missing him and then also missing his blocking ability out there, a player that you've already had on so many of your plays, especially since you've been planning on this new gap scheme with a new offensive coordinator, definitely it sucks to lose a starting tight end. So hopefully it doesn't last too long. Big Country: Yeah, and it's all right. This guy was a number one PPR The Nativ: What do they say is our? Big Country: tight end in the league two years ago. hip injury uncertain for week one. That's all it says. Dan Campbell didn't really get into it too much. But, you know, considering he's being drafted as a top five tight end right now, it's kind of worrisome for fantasy managers and another reason why you should never draft, you know, two, three weeks before the season starts. Kamish. Mm-hmm. but anyways, PV: Think that's part of the game. Big Country: that is not part of the game. You ni you try to limit that as much as you can. PV: Players get injured. That's just how it is. Big Country: Yeah, but why wouldn't you not take that risk? PV: He'll get injured in the regular season two. Big Country: You were just fiending for fantasy, bro. Anyways. we also saw another player get hurt over the weekend. Tyler Beaddi's, or if that's how you pronounce his name. You know, obviously, you know, we hate on the Chargers as much as or you guys do as much as you can. I'd like to do it for just for fun of a video on that. but dude, it feels like every year we see the same type of injury for the Chargers. You know. Always one of their big guys up front getting hurt. And then it's just like a domino effect for the rest of the season. Cause they look so promising. And you're just like, okay, if we just stay healthy, chargers can be really good. And then they charge her. The Nativ: I feel like it's always like a free agent too, like a big free agent signing they get in the off season. I don't know. Big Country: Always is. I mean, don't get me wrong, like The Nativ: Some Big Country: last year was work Rashawn Slater, and then Joel went The Nativ: Yeah. Big Country: out for a few weeks. But I mean can they catch a break, bro? I feel bad. Kinda. I mean look, Naj Najee Harris was just last year. He was kind of a big signing The Nativ: Yeah, see Big Country: for them last year. You could argue this is The Nativ: Yeah, that's Big Country: probably what short up their front this year. The Nativ: Yeah. Big Country: Sorry, let me what you're thinking. Sorry. The Nativ: It's just sucks to see for Chargers fans, I guess. I don't know. It's just a recurring thing. They can't get saved. Big Country: Yeah, and they did draft a center in the second round this year. they were moving him to guard. So he'll just slot right back into center. But, you know, this can't can't deny this probably affects the run game a little bit. Affects, you know, Herbert's ability to stay healthy throughout the year. You know, as soon as that line breaks down, it feels like Herbert's just in no man's land and he's kinda having to fight for himself every single every single year, it feels like. He's on that Matthew The Nativ: Yeah, deep. Big Country: Stafford trajectory. He really is. The Nativ: Yeah, just take he takes the most hits in the NFL, you know. The line is like fucking trying to find Big Country: Yeah, like in it's it's funny because the Chargers like they they put an effort to protect him every single off season and it hasn't felt like it's paid off. So what do you think about? PV: Yeah, I mean it's the slippery slope. You know, it always starts with one lineman and then it goes to the next. I think that was the biggest problem for the Chargers last year. They they missed out on their two big young offensive linemen who were really big and highly touted. I think the Chargers did look out a little bit, obviously, like you mentioned, they drafted the center and he is a second round pick, so he was he's he's he's definitely a highly talented, highly touted center. So if you can teach him how to play, he you should be okay. but it certainly sucks to Have wanted to have a press veteran presence at center, get to move the guy to right guard and have even more talent across the line, and now you can't do that. So Big Country: Yeah. Charger's gonna charger, The Nativ: Let's be honest. Big Country: right? Say you. The Nativ: Where was the audish last year? Big Country: I wanna say wasn't he a commander? Could be wrong, but no The Nativ: Is he relatively PV: Hold on. The Nativ: young? I don't assume. Big Country: yeah, he was a commander. He's twenty eight. PV: Yeah, pretty unfree center. Big Country: So I'm not saying he's gonna be, you know, not dead and certainly come back from this, but Chargers are in The Nativ: What did he do? Didn't he do something? Big Country: hm. The Nativ: What did he injure? Like his peck or something? PV: No, it was his left knee. Big Country: yeah, believe he tore his house. The Nativ: it's left. someone landed on it, huh? PV: He tore his ACL. Big Country: Well it was weird I from what I heard was he kind of felt something in his knee. He said, I'm fine, and then player landed on it and completely fucked it up. And he had to get carded off. The Nativ: Is that one of those joint practices? Big Country: It was with the Niners. But anyways, who gives a shit? It's the Chargers, right? The Nativ: I hope you're not watching this, Tyler Biotish. Big Country: Shit. Matt's gonna be in the fur fetal position listening to this, bro. Season's already The Nativ: yeah, I'm sure he's tapping in. Big Country: going downhill. He better be, bro. It's called support. speaking of a Chargers player The Nativ: When when is when is when is Schmatty me gonna get on the pond? Big Country: This looks exactly like Keen Allen, right? Dude, The Nativ: Ha ha. Yeah. Big Country: I like how it has the bowl PV: It actually it put the charger logo, yeah. The Nativ: Yeah. Big Country: I honestly love this pickup by the cold side. You're adding another safety valve for Daniel Jones in you know, with what's his name? Alec Pierce coming back from injury, probably gonna get slowly worked back in, find his footing. You know, great great guy. Route runner, he knows how to play offense, he's gonna, you know, sit in the zones, he knows how to just knows how to play the wide receiver position really well in this league for a long time. So I feel like this is a solid ad. Would I go draft him in fantasy? Fuck no. But as far as the Colts go. It's not that bad of a move. The Nativ: Think yeah, I think it adds a veteran presence in that room that I think is like really needed. and you look at that receiver room, they're all pretty young guys, but they have high upside. Just adding a guy like Keenan Allen into the presence, into the room just helps, you know, helps further develop those dudes and they get a takeaway from a pretty legendary receiver right there and learn from him. So I think it's a good move Big Country: Yeah. The Nativ: for the Colts too. Big Country: Yeah, I mean we're not talking about a Hall of Fame wide receiver by any means. Hall of very good, maybe. The Nativ: Yeah. Big Country: But you know, someone just picked their brain. That he's a perfect guy for that. I mean it's what's crazy is this dude came in the league in twenty thirteen. That was the year Eddie Lacey came into the league and won it rookie of the year. Like crazy. The Nativ: That was pretty wild. Big Country: I Devontae Adams came in the league a year later. So seeming crazy. But Pat, The Nativ: Yeah, that was pretty crazy. Big Country: what do you think of those? PV: Yeah, I think one of the things that you mentioned, his ability to sit in the zone is probably a big reason why they went and picked him up because you do have Josh Dobbs who's a really smart wide receiver, but he's a small wide receiver. So a lot of those zones that he's gonna try to sit in, is gonna be a lot harder for him if it's deeper down the field versus those shorter routes that Josh Dobbs typically catches. So you need someone kind of in that mid to deep range of the field who know who knows how to sit in those zones and is a veteran in the field and knows exactly how to manage and work with the QB. So I agree that it's a good signing, especially when you're missing size at the wide receiver position with Alec Pierce being your only other big receiver and coming back from injury. Big Country: Yeah. I didn't know Josh Dobbs played for the Colts. PV: Sorry, not Josh Downs, Josh Downs. Big Country: Sorry. I throwing al alopecia out there, bro. Don't worry. yeah, no, and I think the Colts could honestly I feel like they're being a little slept on right now too. You know, they were a very good team that first half of the season until Danny Gimes went down, you know? Like they were very like cream of the crop for the AFC for like what, the first eight, eight or nine weeks? You know, everyone was just like, How are they winning? And people consistently lost. I mean, didn't Denver lose to the Colts early in the season? PV: Yeah, we lost in a field goal last second. The Nativ: Yeah. Big Country: Yeah, you know. The Nativ: What was the bullshit behind that game? I can't remember. it was Big Country: That was a good team. That was a The Nativ: it was the no, it was leverage, PV: I think we gotta roughing the passer. Big Country: No is The Nativ: the leverage club. Big Country: the leverage, yeah. Yeah, PV: Leverage, you're right. It was leverage. Big Country: gave him another fifteen yards and then he made it. The Nativ: Awesome. All right. Big Country: Amen. Can't say you guys didn't win on some some some stuff last year too. The Nativ: Fair and square, man. Big Country: Just saying. Just saying. you got looks like you guys did just fine last year, so I don't want to hear this. The Nativ: Yeah, to the right. Big Country: The fourteen and three team complaining about not being fifteen and two. PV: Should have been fifteen and two. This is bullshit. The Nativ: There's always room for improvement. Big Country: Yeah. PV: Should have been seventeen and Big Country: Sure once is well. PV: We would have. Big Country: Anyways. and then come on to our last kind of thing tonight for this episode. Let's talk about some like season futures. I know there's four sports and then the NBA trophy for no reason. But we're not really talking about those sports. We're talking about we're talking about just straight NFL some futures. I know you guys kind of told me what your you know your kind of like favorite NFL futures are you're kinda like watching the season, maybe throw some coin on. but Pat tell me the listeners know what you think in your future. PV: Yeah, I mean I saw a post talking about Gary Wilson and his future for the season, and I had to kind of agree that it's something to slam because last year his line was exactly where it is now at four point five. He ended up getting four touchdowns by like week six, I think it was. really early in the season. He was balling and then he goes and gets that injury. and then somehow that injury that was only supposed to be a couple of weeks ends up lasting the entire season. And he had poor quarterback play even when he did end up playing the one or two games that he did play on the back half of the season. So he didn't end up finishing with five, had four e ended up with four even though he had it early. I do think that this year it is an even better opportunity for him to get that five, however, if he can get that full season under his belt for one. but two, I do think that even though it's not a huge step up back quarterback, he is gonna have more consistent quarterback play with Geno Smith. and Geno Smith will be able to get him the ball and will be able to get him those touchdowns. So I like his four point five touchdown line for futures this year. The Nativ: Fuck dude, I think that's a huge step up in Justin fucking fields, bro. Last PV: Yeah. The Nativ: year, dude, that was like watching a fucking running back play fucking Big Country: Were we all like PV: Justin Fields, Tyrod, Taylor. Honestly, Big Country: praising the Justin Fields signing last year? The Nativ: Well PV: I thought it was a good signing. The Nativ: about crazy. Big Country: Yeah, some things just don't work out and Justin Fields just is stupid. PV: Didn't end up panning out. Yeah. Big Country: So you can't read a defense. Pretty pretty clear. The Nativ: No, he couldn't dude. That was remember PV: He cannot read a defense The Nativ: that first week PV: now. The Nativ: though? Remember that first week against the Steelers? I was like, holy shit. Big Country: That he lost. The Nativ: Well, they fucking balled out, bro. PV: Yeah, he was born. Big Country: Set. Lost a forty two year old Aaron Rodgers. The Nativ: All right, so whatever, buddy. Big Country: Yeah, anyways, I think that like that that future is like kinda relies on mainly not just the quarterback, it's just him staying healthy throughout the whole entire year. Like you said, he had horrendous quarterback through the first six, six weeks and he was damn near at the line already. I think to say fucking Geno Smith's the answer. But he's gonna fucking pipe that rock down to. You know, there's not that many receivers in in the Jets. And you know, even if Cade Club comes in, he's gonna have to throw it to someone. You know? so I I don't mind that future at all honestly. maybe you know sprinkle it up to to six if you want some value I feel like that's even attainable for him too. PV: Yeah, it's even attainable. I like it. Big Country: But I'll kind of go with mine and then the end you can kinda wrap it up with yours. so mine was to take Chase Brown over eight hundred and twenty-five rushing yards. Last season we saw him rush for over a thousand. I don't see any reason why he wouldn't hit this line again. You know, I felt like they also started kind of, you know, valuing what Chase Brown brings to table late in the year. I know I've talked about Chase Brown previously, but Chase Brown It's one of my you know, obviously very high on him this year. I feel like eight twenty five's kinda very, very like just great value. I saw eight fifty on DraftKings, but eight twenty five on Fandle, so I'd go snag that if you could. Can. But could anyone give me a reasonable side? The Nativ: What do you what do you think the most like logic is there? You you think like just like them thinking Joe Burrow being back he's they're not gonna run the ball as much late or what do you think the logic is that it goes down from a a thousand to eight twenty five? Big Country: If they don't believe in him? I I I don't know. Like I'm like I was just about to ask you, what do you guys think is the reason for why you couldn't get it besides obviously an injury and missing time? PV: Offensive line. I think maybe the offensive line is an issue for one. it's hard to get yardage. the short yardage that really starts stacking up. And then two, because his offensive line is so shitty, there's a high chance of him actually getting that injury that, you know, everyone wants to avoid just 'cause he's constantly having to be in that rubble of a big a bunch of big bodies at the line. Big Country: Ian? What do you think? The Nativ: for my for my pick? Big Country: No, like why do you think why do you think you couldn't get that? Why do you think you couldn't get the eight twenty five? The Nativ: I asked the question. I don't know. I really don't know. PV: Yeah. Big Country: Well you didn't ask the question. You asked w why they're doing it. You know. The Nativ: Why why do I think he can't get it? I mean I'm I Big Country: Yeah. The Nativ: I don't think there's any reason he can't get it, honestly. Big Country: That's that's what I'm saying. Like, besides like injury, like why wouldn't he be able to get this? You know? The Nativ: I like Pat's point about the line, you know, it's pretty logical, but I mean he it's not like he had Big Country: I mean from what I saw. The Nativ: like crazy lines last year or the year before that either, though, you know what I mean? Big Country: That's what I'm saying. You know, it's not like this guy was carrying the rock like twenty times a game. He was usually less than fifteen. You know? The Nativ: Maybe I don't know, maybe like what w what was his all purpose line at? Like probably like twelve hundred for the year? I don't know. It's pretty close to. PV: Yeah, he gets a lot of receiving Big Country: To be honest with you, I have no idea what his all purpose line PV: yards, that's sh that's a p that's a good point. Big Country: is. PV: He does catch the ball a lot The Nativ: So I PV: out of the backfield. Big Country: I mean he had four hundred thirty seven yards receiving last year. Pretty certain amount. The Nativ: Yeah, so PV: Yeah. Yeah, so that would add up to twelve hundred, so he's about right. Big Country: Yeah, but he he rushed for a thousand last year. PV: Yeah. Big Country: Yeah, two hundred yards below. PV: They were also forced to use him a lot with Joe Berger being out. Which is also where I think a big part of it comes from. Yeah, we which makes s which is what Ian's The Nativ: That that was my that was Big Country: Honestly, but if you look at his stats, PV: point, yeah. Big Country: he didn't really have to The Nativ: But Big Country: carry the load that much when he was hurt, 'cause he came back, I believe I mean, if you cut me up one more fucking time. The Nativ: What's their schedule look like, dude? I mean, they weren't very good last year, so I mean they're gonna have a pretty decent schedule now. Big Country: You should, yes. The Nativ: Like relatively speaking. Like you think you're gonna be up in these games, dude, and you hand the ball off to Chase Brown late. But they also get fucking the people's gonna shoot Big Country: Well, so they start off with Tampa. The Nativ: out, dude. Big Country: They play Houston, Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, Miami. I wouldn't say that's the easiest schedule. And The Nativ: No. Big Country: yeah, Baltimore, Tennessee, Atlanta, those I mean I don't know. And I I I don't see there's why there's any reason to not take this line. PV: yeah, I do like the line. I do like the line. I do. The Nativ: yeah, yeah. Big Country: Yeah, he's a proven back in this league and I feel like you know, you get that offense kinda humming passing wise, it's just gonna open up the floodgates for the rim game. Open up the path to the play action too. So yeah, Ian, PV: Yeah. I agree. Big Country: let us know what your future is. The Nativ: kind of going with the like a I don't know, this like a odd over future, but Malik Willis over fourteen and a half passing touchdowns. I Big Country: Yeah. The Nativ: think that's I think that's very feasible for him. I mean in the la like in the little sample size we saw last year, I thought he played really well against pretty decent teams. I remember that Ravens game, he he balled out. He looked great. when he had to come in for J Lo against the Bears, he looked pretty good. I know the Dolphins are nowhere near what the Packers were, what the Packers receiving core had last year, but Big Country: Yeah. The Nativ: I just think with like him starting and getting a full season under his belt, I think fifteen touchdowns is definitely something feasible. he's Big Country: I think it's definitely reasonable no matter what. The Nativ: still like a conservative guy. He's not throwing the ball a ton. And they honestly they take that into account, but I mean fifteen touchdowns over a seventeen game span. I think he could do it. Big Country: Yeah. Stavano Chan out of the backfield man, you know he's probably gonna get some receiving touchdowns. The Nativ: Yeah. Big Country: I'm not saying they have any wide receivers to throw to, like at all, but PV: Caleb Douglas is emerging, man. He's been big so far. He's made some big big catches. you know, it's gonna take some time for them to get a solid receiver in there. But like you mentioned, Devonna Chan, he just catches a few passes out of the backfield with that speed. He's gonna get some receiving touchdowns. Greg Dolkich is a big body, he could get some receiving touchdowns down in the red zone. So yeah, I agree, you know, fifteen touchdowns over seventeen games you have to Technically you have to get a touchdown again, but technically it's less than, but it's definitely very feasible. And I think people are really low on the Dolphins and that's why the line is so low. But you know, I think that Malik Willis, like you said, he showed some flashes last year. maybe if one of these receivers like Caleb Douglas actually does end up stepping it up, they end up being a better team than people anticipate. The Nativ: You think the dolphins Big Country: Yeah. The Nativ: yeah, like you were just saying, Pat, you think the dolphins are gonna be better than what everyone's projecting them to be? PV: Yeah, I think they'll still be bad, but I do think they'll be better than what everyone thinks. I mean, you still have a star running back, who's one of the best out there, one of the fastest players in the league. you got Malik Willis who's gonna be able to run alongside him, and they're gonna do kind of a similar scheme to the Ravens with Derrick Henry, to where you don't know who's gonna get the ball and that makes it tricky. So you're gonna see, I think, a lot of RPOs and so as long as you get one or one or two receivers that are at least consistent in their play, I think that they'll be much better than people think they will be. Big Country: Yeah, I don't mind it, honestly. I mean, dolphins The Nativ: So are we putting this together in a in lay? Are we doing a group lay for this? Big Country: I mean you could definitely put it in a way, I didn't put it together myself for the viewers, but you know, you if you want to put it together really quick and let the viewers know what it would come out to be, maybe throw a honey bun on it. The Nativ: Let's let's get some budget. Let's get some big nuts on this channel, bro. Let's throw like two fifty on it each, bro. Track it every week. Big Country: You're a funny guy, Ian. my bad, the native. I believe The Nativ: Just say you don't believe in the the native. Big Country: in my leg. You know, obviously. The Nativ: You don't you don't wanna put two fifty on Oli Kabulas, bro? Dick. PV: You don't believe in belief? Big Country: I mean to your point when you said he balled out against the Ravens, the Ravens had one of the shittiest defenses last year. The Nativ: Stop. PV: Mm-hmm. Big Country: So I don't want to put like two much bad way. Jordan Love threw for four touchdowns against the Bears. Malik threw for one. PV: He was running that ball though. Big Country: Yeah, he also lost that game. But I don't know. Malik, you know, I'll have a lot of Packers fans like in the comments, not for us, but like in Packers like fan stuff. They were constantly saying, Malik was Kabira QB one. Dude. Joan loves miles ahead. The Nativ: I mean, yeah, there's no question there. Big Country: You know, I yeah, you know, I don't I there's a there's a big drop off and I don't feel people people like fully realize that and I feel like he was a little overrated in my opinion. Just because he had a couple of good games and some relief roles. So The Nativ: Prem starting tomorrow, boys. Big Country: but anyways. Who? Sure. The Nativ: Friend. Big Country: The button. PV: Wait, he's cutting out. Mm-hmm. Big Country: Yeah. I do want to give a shout out The Nativ: Yeah. Big Country: to my boy Doctor Locks though. He was kinda gave gave me the idea to do this kind of segment. He started it off with I saw like a a three minute video just strictly about Rogers and him going over twenty one and a half touchdowns. And please go for that as well. I think that's a I think that's a phenomenal line to take as well. Just cause Rogers, I mean don't PV: no, about twenty one and a half. Big Country: dude. There's only been three seasons where this man has not gone for that over. Why why would you say why would you say that? Well. PV: And there's gonna be four. We lost we lost the native. 'Cause this is not he 'cause he's on a steady decline. Big Country: A steady decline. What did he throw last year? Do you even know? PV: Like twenty three, I bet. Big Country: Do you wanna know about do you wanna know? PV: How many was it? Did he hit thirty? I'd be really surprised if he hit thirty. Big Country: three for twenty four last year. PV: I was one short. That was a pretty good guess. But that's exactly what I mean, is he's on a steady decline. I think I think he does go under that twenty one and a half. Big Country: Yeah, but he has a better receiving core. I think he has a better running back duo. That's the same. But he does PV: Yesh. Big Country: definitely has a better receiving core. He threw for thirty three hundred yards last year. PV: He does have a better receiving card, I'll give you that. Big Country: The only times he's ever not eclipsed this is when he doesn't play sixteen games. PV: I'll tell you what, one thing that'll help make my decision, I need to see what Manning threw his last season. Big Country: Manning was fucking shit his last season. And he was nowhere near Rogers' arm talent. Rogers does not have a noodle arm. Get the fuck out of here. What is the native gonna join back? PV: They're both they're both getting noodle arms. They're both getting noodle arms. It's going down. He last year I saw some regression. It doesn't look like it. Big Country: yeah, it feels like we just lost him, man. send a message to John Beckins, maybe on his phone or something. But I I truly don't see why he doesn't go over this line. You know, in it for a team that's gonna be down in a lot of PV: Think it's kinda high. Big Country: games, they don't have the greatest running backs, he's gonna have to throw it. And I feel like with DK Metcalf, Michael Pittman, Jeremy Bernard, and then he's got Roman Wilson, Ben Scaronago, I feel like he could be he could be really throwing that rock. Not saying he's gonna smash and go to thirty five by any means, but I think twenty five to thirty is definitely in reach. PV: I don't know, it feels kinda high to me, but we'll see. Big Country: we throw twenty eight with the with the Jets two years ago. PV: See, that's regression. Twenty eight and then down to twenty four. And he supposedly had a better core. Big Country: Damn, buddy. Ian Rodriguez: shit. I'm back 'cause Ian Rodriguez is not the native. PV: Yeah. Big Country: That's fine, buddy. Ian Rodriguez: I'd get onto the different device, bro. Big Country: Yeah, I told you, bro. Yeah, I get a new setup PV: Yeah, that's okay. Big Country: if you're gonna be a a new co host, you know. You know? Hey. Ian Rodriguez: Yeah. Maybe we could write it into my contract or something. Big Country: Yeah, might have to, bro. No equity. Ian Rodriguez: Talk to big country, bro. Big Country: No equity. no pay. Just straight vibes. Ian Rodriguez: Talk to APAC, bro. I know you got some insiders there, you know. The your whole bloodline and everything. You get some butt money for this? Big Country: Any Ian, you wanna give us your thoughts on maybe Aaron Rodgers going over twenty one and a half passing touchdowns? Ian Rodriguez: Well, considering he's forty two, Big Country: He's that he's that fucking guy, right? Ian Rodriguez: I don't think it's happening, buddy. Big Country: It's only been three seasons, he's not he's not done it. All th all those three seasons he did not finish the season. Ian Rodriguez: There's only been one there's only been PV: so you Ian Rodriguez: one season he's been fucking forty two. PV: You're not considering that the likelihood of him Big Country: He was forty one. PV: not finishing the season has increased significantly more with his age? Big Country: Bro, he was just it's the same player as last year essentially. Immobile, just throwing fucking fist missiles. PV: He gets hit one time too hard, he's going out. You can go and do an ayahuasca trip for the rest of the season. Big Country: That that's you could do that for literally any other quarterback, theoretically. PV: Nah, he's too old. The problem is he's old so he has a higher probability. Big Country: he's not brittle. I mean he's brittle, bro. He's not brittle. PV: He's pretty brutal. Big Country: You seen those calves, bro? Well all I'm saying is this dude was still the eighteenth ranked quarterback in fantasy last year, and we're just we're just knocking him off. You know? PV: I'm saying there's regression. You can't Ian Rodriguez: eighteen's ranked. PV: deny that there's been regression. Big Country: I'm sorry. This quarterback had twenty four touchdowns and seven picks. That's a career year for most quarterbacks. This is his age forty one season. PV: But it's regression for him. There was regression. He threw he threw twenty Big Country: He's forty fucking one. Ian Rodriguez: Didn't feel like twenty four touch screens. PV: eight. He threw twenty eight the year before. Big Country: I'm sorry, the forty year old didn't throw four more. PV: See, you keep following up the fact that he's old and he's getting older. Big Country: That doesn't mean he's not gonna he can't do it. He has a better receiving core this year. Probably has a better pass protection this year, too. PV: Yes, we shall see. Big Country: We will see 'cause Aaron Rodgers will not fail me. PV: That's what you said before week one when he walked out with the Jets. Big Country: He is the most talented quarterback we've ever seen touch the football. Talented. Ian Rodriguez: This is what I came back for. Big Country: Talented. Hey, you you get everything with the Altitude Problems Podcast. You know? PV: Postcast. Ian Rodriguez: What's this? Big Country: Rockies, NFL, and Rocky's dick suck not Rockies. Roger's dick sucking. Clip that. Ian Rodriguez: Yeah, wipe your mouth buddy. Big Country: Yeah, clip that shit. Bro, I'm gonna be on Roger's PV: Jesus Christ. Big Country: realm, just watch. Ian Rodriguez: Dude, god damn, back up from the camera, bro. PV: my god. Cut the podcast. Big Country: Anyways, always, you guys got any other futures that you might want to think about? Ian Rodriguez: any other futures? I dude Big Country: Yes, sir. Ian Rodriguez: th those fast futures are cool, bro. You guys should think about those. Big Country: Yeah, talk about your fast feature that you took a few weeks back. Ian Rodriguez: I got Dak, bro, leading the league in touchdowns after week three. Yeah. it's Big Country: Nick three. Does he have a pretty easy schedule or are you just betting to bet? Ian Rodriguez: I looked at it, bro. I can't remember it off the top of my head, but let's see. I don't think it's easy by any means, to be honest with you. Big Country: Of course it isn't. The native throwing down these vets and he doesn't know to do. I mean he's playing New York. Ian Rodriguez: Giants, Commanders, Ravens. Big Country: I'm not gonna say it's easy, but that's he probably knows how to play he Ian Rodriguez: That that's a dude. I could see it happening, bro. Big Country: he shuts on the Giants usually too, but this is the only Giants team. Well, coach. not a bad bet. I don't mind that. Ian Rodriguez: No, dude. I mean PV: Actually I have a great future. Give me Aaron Rodgers under twenty one and a half touchdowns. Big Country: This this podcast doesn't take defamatory to the goat of my goat. I'd be even inclined to take his passing yards. It's only at thirty three hundred. PV: I would take passing yards. I don't like touchdowns though. I think you're gonna see a lot more I don't know, probably some sort of runs in the red zone more often. Big Country: You're not gonna take Ian Rodriguez: And they brought in Rico Big Country: the most Ian Rodriguez: Dog. They have another backpack there. PV: Yeah, and they brought in Rico exactly. Yeah, no. Yeah, I I definitely Big Country: But they got rid of Kenneth Gainwell. PV: Kenneth Gainwell is not a red zone threat to steal touchdowns. He was a pass down. Big Country: He w you know what he was? A pass down back. PV: Exactly. So that just could that just hurts Aaron Rodgers. Big Country: But you know who they added? Michael fucking Pittman, dude. PV: Fine. I just I I I like yards, I don't like touchdowns. Big Country: I need I need Rogers Realm on here. All I know is I'm gonna be hitting that. PV: I don't like touchdowns this year. Big Country: You know that every time he scores. PV: Donation. Big Country: yeah, not gonna lie, I wanted to name this the donation of the week. PV: Yeah. Big Country: But anyways, that is gonna wrap it up for this week's episode of Altitude Problems Podcast, episode fourteen. Can't believe it's over. And Ian, what's our motto, man? Ian Rodriguez: The moon baby. Big Country: I forgot in the first part, but yeah. Ian Rodriguez: altitude problems to the moon. Big Country: No, just just say A P, brother. A Ian Rodriguez: my bad, my bad. Big Country: P to the moon, indeed. we'll catch you next week and you guys have a great week. PV: If this guy posts.
