- 0:13Speaker 1: of Long Story short the podcast I'm Megan, I'm Wendy.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Today on the podcast, we're discussing the final installment of
- 0:20Speaker 1: the Wedding Veil series, The Wedding Veil Legacy, starring our girl,
- 0:24Speaker 1: Ali Sweeney. Our girl a little housekeeping before we jump
- 0:29Speaker 1: into our thoughts on this movie. You can find us
- 0:32Speaker 1: outside of the podcast on Instagram, on Twitter, on TikTok.
- 0:35Speaker 1: We're at Megan and Wendy in all of those places,
- 0:39Speaker 1: and you can also join our Facebook group, which is
- 0:41Speaker 1: Long Story Shorties.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Also send us your emails Megan and Wendy at gmail
- 0:45Speaker 2: dot com. We love to hear your thoughts on these movies.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Do you agree disagree with our reviews? Send them our away.
- 0:53Speaker 1: I have an email about the Wedding Veil Legacy. Okay,
- 0:57Speaker 1: it's from Joyce, who says love the concept of the
- 1:00Speaker 1: Wedding Veil trilogy and enjoyed the first two in the series,
- 1:03Speaker 1: especially the Italy segment. Terrific storyline with a good dose
- 1:06Speaker 1: of mystery sprinkled in. Had a hard time wrapping my
- 1:09Speaker 1: head around the final episode in the trilogy, with the
- 1:12Speaker 1: two actors seriously miscast as Mama and Nana. More than disappointing,
- 1:16Speaker 1: it was beyond ethnically offensive. The exaggerated voices and hand
- 1:20Speaker 1: gestures were straight up laughable. And did I mention offensive
- 1:23Speaker 1: because yeah, it was as if every Italian shows up
- 1:25Speaker 1: with a box of Canoli. I expected more from Homewark.
- 1:29Speaker 1: They gave new meaning to stereotype. You lost me on
- 1:32Speaker 1: this one. Wow, very good points.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Actually I did not even notice those things, so I
- 1:42Speaker 2: may have to go back and rewatch through that.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Lens. I read this email prior to watching the movie,
- 1:48Speaker 1: and so I did watch the movie through that Lens.
- 1:51Speaker 1: I didn't find it offensive, but I am not Italian,
- 1:55Speaker 1: so I don't get to decide whether or not this
- 1:58Speaker 1: is an offensive take. I do believe the actress who
- 2:01Speaker 1: plays Mama is Italian. I don't know about the actress
- 2:05Speaker 1: who plays Nana, but that's all I know, So I'm
- 2:11Speaker 1: curious to hear everyone else's take on that. I actually
- 2:13Speaker 1: have another comment later in the episode about some stereotyping.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Oh okay, great time for news and notes, hm. I
- 2:26Speaker 1: have some overall Hallmark news and notes that is related
- 2:28Speaker 1: to the Wedding Veil trilogy. As a whole. Okay, did
- 2:31Speaker 1: you hear that Lacy Shabert signed a multi year contract
- 2:34Speaker 1: with Hallmark to headline and produce films and other content.
- 2:38Speaker 1: That's their wording, and I am very much here for this.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Oh me too.
- 2:42Speaker 2: I hadn't heard that, but I'm not surprised because her
- 2:46Speaker 2: movies the last like two years have like brought in
- 2:49Speaker 2: major numbers, like far exceeding Candice Cameron's number.
- 2:54Speaker 1: So it feels pretty clear to me that she's the
- 2:57Speaker 1: queen of Hallmark these days. Yes, yes, yes, yes, agree. Wow,
- 3:01Speaker 1: that's exciting. What else? Well, back to this movie. We
- 3:04Speaker 1: are back in the Great White North in Canada for
- 3:06Speaker 1: this movie. We are not in beautiful Italy in this anymore.
- 3:10Speaker 1: I think they're trying to make it look like they're
- 3:12Speaker 1: in New York. And each movie in the series was
- 3:15Speaker 1: filmed in fifteen days, and one thing I found interesting
- 3:18Speaker 1: is that the actresses who weren't the key players had
- 3:21Speaker 1: some downtime even though they weren't necessarily there for the
- 3:24Speaker 1: full two weeks, they were on set for their scenes
- 3:27Speaker 1: and they would get to hang out because the two
- 3:29Speaker 1: that weren't the leads. So that's kind of fun. I
- 3:32Speaker 1: think and even the actresses themselves commented that in one
- 3:36Speaker 1: hotel they were staying cross the hall from each other,
- 3:38Speaker 1: and that's not an experience they usually have because even
- 3:41Speaker 1: though they work for the same network, they typically don't
- 3:42Speaker 1: work together.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's what I love about this movie trilogy,
- 3:49Speaker 2: is that we get these like big players together. I
- 3:52Speaker 2: had read that one of the gals had said that
- 3:55Speaker 2: the real true love of the movie is that the
- 4:00Speaker 2: love and friendship between these female characters, and I thought
- 4:03Speaker 2: that it was very relevant on screen that they got
- 4:08Speaker 2: along very well.
- 4:10Speaker 1: I have that note as well, and that's in my
- 4:12Speaker 1: liked section. But I just said, I am here for
- 4:15Speaker 1: more examples of love that's not romantic love. And I
- 4:19Speaker 1: would even say that it would be okay for Hallmark
- 4:23Speaker 1: to make a movie where the heart of the movie
- 4:24Speaker 1: isn't a romantic love story.
- 4:26Speaker 2: I'm I would love that kind of stuff, right, I
- 4:30Speaker 2: would love that stuff, especially movies, because you know a
- 4:33Speaker 2: majority of women watch these movies, show movies where women
- 4:37Speaker 2: are supporting other women. Like, let's get that narrative out there,
- 4:42Speaker 2: like let's get in our entertainment.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I'm totally here for that. Take the example of the
- 4:48Speaker 1: movie Frozen. The heart of that story is not the
- 4:51Speaker 1: Anna and Christoph love story, It's the Anna and Elsa's
- 4:54Speaker 1: sister love story. Yeah, totally true.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Hey, did you know that they were gonna call this
- 5:00Speaker 2: movie Wedding Veil Wishes Tracy's story?
- 5:03Speaker 1: That sounds like an afterschool special because it feels like
- 5:07Speaker 1: the title of a Babysitters Club book. Oh, that's funny.
- 5:13Speaker 2: We talked about this in last week's episode. You were
- 5:15Speaker 2: talking about like the numbers that these movies were pulling in.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:19Speaker 2: I had read that the first two installments, the Wedding
- 5:23Speaker 2: Veil one and two, helped to attract the network's highest
- 5:27Speaker 2: ratings for a non holiday movie in over a decade.
- 5:30Speaker 1: That's incredible. It is what else you got? There was
- 5:34Speaker 1: an e online story about the Wedding Veale trilogy being
- 5:36Speaker 1: inspired by the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and to that,
- 5:39Speaker 1: I say.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Duh, didn't see that coming. Yeah, I mean that was
- 5:45Speaker 2: like somebody's childhood movie and they're like, how can I
- 5:48Speaker 2: how can I make a Hallmark movie about that?
- 5:50Speaker 1: Indeed, what can you tell me about Victor Webster?
- 5:54Speaker 2: He plays Nick and we have seen him, you and
- 5:57Speaker 2: I have seen him in working moms and younger.
- 6:02Speaker 1: That's right. He plays a jerk on working Moms, right,
- 6:06Speaker 1: I can't remember. To be honest, I think he plays
- 6:09Speaker 1: the man that the lead mom, the brunette, long haired
- 6:13Speaker 1: mom has an affair with, has an affair slash fling with.
- 6:17Speaker 1: I think she might already be divorced at that point
- 6:19Speaker 1: or separated. But I think he turns out to be
- 6:21Speaker 1: a jerk. Yeah, he does play that bad boy. Well,
- 6:25Speaker 1: he's very handsome, though. I remember you referring to him
- 6:28Speaker 1: as the big beefy dude last day. Oh sorry, I
- 6:32Speaker 1: mean he is.
- 6:33Speaker 2: But you know, this is what I like is that
- 6:36Speaker 2: he's obviously a little bit older, but he's not in
- 6:38Speaker 2: the you know, retired grandpa stage, you know what I mean. Like,
- 6:43Speaker 2: show me a man who's in his mid forties. I
- 6:48Speaker 2: want to see that on TV. I don't particularly like
- 6:52Speaker 2: all the like young twenty early thirty year old love stories,
- 6:58Speaker 2: so I don't know.
- 6:59Speaker 1: I just liked it. Yeah, I thought it would relate.
- 7:01Speaker 1: And Allie is closer to our age. Also, Allie, I
- 7:05Speaker 1: like that you call her Ali my bestie. Yeah. I
- 7:09Speaker 1: feel like I know her after watching her as Sammy
- 7:11Speaker 1: Brady for years and years and years. Did she she's
- 7:15Speaker 1: still on that show occasionally? Yes? Oh wow, she currently
- 7:18Speaker 1: on that show. She comes and goes. What was your
- 7:21Speaker 1: first impression of this movie? My first impression is I
- 7:25Speaker 1: am a Tracy. I am Tracy. We took that I'm
- 7:31Speaker 1: not survey. It was like a questionnaire. It's on Hallmark doc. Yeah,
- 7:34Speaker 1: a quiz.
- 7:35Speaker 2: It's like an old timey magazine quiz about who are you?
- 7:38Speaker 2: And Meg and I both were Tracy's.
- 7:41Speaker 1: I don't know. I felt like I could really super
- 7:43Speaker 1: relate to her this movie. My first impression is a
- 7:47Speaker 1: little bit more general, but I am pleased with this
- 7:51Speaker 1: resolution to the trilogy. Oh me too, Me too, I
- 7:54Speaker 1: totally agree. So let's talk about specific things that we
- 7:58Speaker 1: liked about this movie. Hmmmm. Finally, finally they get the
- 8:03Speaker 1: selfie shot right. That is my first note written down.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Finally a correct selfie pick. I took them three tries.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I had to rewind because it happened so close to
- 8:16Speaker 1: the top of the movie and I had looked away
- 8:18Speaker 1: and I realized they had taken the shot and I
- 8:20Speaker 1: needed to see what it looked like. And they did it.
- 8:22Speaker 1: We don't even see them holding the phone. We just
- 8:25Speaker 1: have the actual camera at the angle of the shot,
- 8:29Speaker 1: but at least the Finnish shot looks like a selfie.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Thank you. I took three movies, but we got there. Okay,
- 8:36Speaker 1: so this is in my liked category.
- 8:38Speaker 2: But I'm undecided if I liked this movie compared.
- 8:45Speaker 1: To the other two. I liked it, I didn't like
- 8:48Speaker 1: love it. I think I really liked the first one.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I kind of liked the second one, And now I'm
- 8:53Speaker 2: not sure if I like the second one better or
- 8:55Speaker 2: the third one better.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Okay, I felt like this movie was like the most
- 9:00Speaker 1: most Hallmark esque, you know what I mean.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Like, I felt like the second movie was totally like,
- 9:06Speaker 2: not like a Hallmark narrative we usually get right, you know,
- 9:12Speaker 2: because it was.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Like a mysterious and blah blah blah whatever. This one
- 9:16Speaker 1: was kind of the old tropes that we see. So's
- 9:22Speaker 1: it's hard for me. It's hard for me. I think
- 9:24Speaker 1: this movie has a hard time competing against the Wedding
- 9:27Speaker 1: Veil Unveiled, partly due to location. It's very hard. That
- 9:34Speaker 1: was just so beautiful to look at the entire time,
- 9:37Speaker 1: and I think that for me played a role in
- 9:39Speaker 1: my enjoyment of that movie. I would say, the second,
- 9:43Speaker 1: the second and third movies. It's a toss up. I
- 9:47Speaker 1: agree which one I like more as well? Hey, you know,
- 9:51Speaker 1: I'm thrilled to see Matti Finocchio back on scene in
- 9:54Speaker 1: such a key role, not just a one and done.
- 9:57Speaker 1: I agree.
- 9:58Speaker 2: When I saw him, I was like, oh, Maddie, like like,
- 10:01Speaker 2: we're bff.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Huh.
- 10:03Speaker 2: What I loved about it is that he like played her,
- 10:08Speaker 2: you know, like opposite her, you know, her in person friend,
- 10:13Speaker 2: and it was played by a man who was obviously
- 10:16Speaker 2: not a love interest.
- 10:17Speaker 1: It just I enjoyed that so much. Yeah, each one
- 10:21Speaker 1: of these women in their movies had a person physically
- 10:24Speaker 1: in their lives who played kind of that local best
- 10:27Speaker 1: friend role. And I agree, I like that this was
- 10:31Speaker 1: a man and I enjoy him. We've seen him in
- 10:34Speaker 1: a lot of places. Obviously, he will always have my
- 10:36Speaker 1: heart from his time and date my dad, which Wendy
- 10:39Speaker 1: and I have a history with. But I just I
- 10:41Speaker 1: really like him and I would like to see him
- 10:43Speaker 1: elevated a little bit more from the sidekick role.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Okay, but here's a question, Okay, is he ever going
- 10:52Speaker 2: to be like the dreamy lead? Well, he's what you're
- 10:57Speaker 2: saying he's quirky and a little unique, and so I
- 11:01Speaker 2: don't know if he'll ever be elevated to like hold,
- 11:04Speaker 2: he's never going to be a uh, what's that guy's name.
- 11:07Speaker 1: He's never going to be a Tyler Hines. There it is,
- 11:09Speaker 1: Oh my god, brain fog. He is never going to
- 11:12Speaker 1: be a Tyler Hines. But I enjoy him so much.
- 11:16Speaker 2: As an actor, and I think he's great. So give
- 11:20Speaker 2: him a role where he can be the lead but
- 11:22Speaker 2: is a little bit quirky, you know, And that's okay
- 11:25Speaker 2: because there are quirky people out in the world who
- 11:28Speaker 2: could relate to that kind of character. Hashtag Maddie, Justice
- 11:34Speaker 2: for Maddie, Justice for Maddie.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Hey. Even though Paolo didn't make the trip to the wedding,
- 11:40Speaker 1: I got so stupid. But he missed his playing. I
- 11:43Speaker 1: missed his playing. I was thrilled to see Kevin McGary
- 11:47Speaker 1: at Tracy's wedding. And do you know what I loved
- 11:49Speaker 1: the most. He still had his horrible accent. He did
- 11:53Speaker 1: not the mysteriously missing Boston accent, and if it was there,
- 11:57Speaker 1: it was not noticeable to It was slight us. I
- 12:00Speaker 1: kind of heard it a little bit. It wasn't. It
- 12:03Speaker 1: wasn't as.
- 12:04Speaker 2: As strong, it wasn't as jarring. Yeah, it didn't get
- 12:10Speaker 2: the caricature of exactly. And I thought that the whole
- 12:14Speaker 2: scene was like so funny. She's like, you're just as
- 12:16Speaker 2: romantic or you're turning into a romantic like I am.
- 12:19Speaker 1: And he's like, uh, she like lays her head on
- 12:24Speaker 1: his chest. I'm like, who does that? I've never laid
- 12:27Speaker 1: my head on my husband's chest while dancing. Never. Actually
- 12:32Speaker 1: it would be his shoulder because we're like, he's not
- 12:34Speaker 1: that much taller than I am. But you know what
- 12:36Speaker 1: I mean, your husband's taller than you. Do you lay
- 12:39Speaker 1: your head on his chest? No, when was the last
- 12:44Speaker 1: time we danced together? I remember, it's gonna be your
- 12:48Speaker 1: children's wedding. That will be the next time, right, Okay.
- 12:51Speaker 1: I liked that they got rid of Tracy's like first boyfriend.
- 12:56Speaker 1: I don't even know what his name was, the guy
- 12:58Speaker 1: that in away. Yeah, I was like, thank god I
- 13:02Speaker 1: got rid of him because he was not it for her. No,
- 13:05Speaker 1: And we already had it dragged out over the previous
- 13:08Speaker 1: two movies. We had set the scene. We knew she
- 13:11Speaker 1: was pretty ambivalent, and the second he moves to California.
- 13:14Speaker 1: It was like, boy, bye, we knew she was not
- 13:18Speaker 1: going with him, he was not going to get the veil.
- 13:22Speaker 1: What'd you wish for? Well, I didn't. Look. This is
- 13:26Speaker 1: what I didn't like.
- 13:27Speaker 2: In the first movie it was about the painting, and
- 13:29Speaker 2: the second movie it was about like the history of
- 13:32Speaker 2: the veil, and this one it was like about that
- 13:35Speaker 2: museum letter that like, I don't need these like subplots.
- 13:38Speaker 1: They don't do it for me. The letter I get
- 13:42Speaker 1: as a way to bring the two of them together.
- 13:44Speaker 1: I'm just not sure that they needed that on top
- 13:46Speaker 1: of them already planning this event together. What I wished
- 13:49Speaker 1: for in this movie is a visual aid to explain
- 13:52Speaker 1: the story of the veil, because in the penultimate scene
- 13:56Speaker 1: when they are in the bridal room getting ready and
- 14:00Speaker 1: they reveal how the veil made its way to the
- 14:03Speaker 1: United States and they're talking about how they are all related,
- 14:08Speaker 1: my brain short circuited. I need to see it drawn out.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Show me the people, show me where the veil went,
- 14:15Speaker 1: show me who belonged to, show me who gave it
- 14:17Speaker 1: to who, Show me who the illegitimate child is. Right,
- 14:20Speaker 1: I need a diagram. They talked about Claudia again. Yeah,
- 14:24Speaker 1: I know. I'm like, who are these people? Someone in
- 14:27Speaker 1: the Hallmark fan art community, get on it. That would
- 14:31Speaker 1: be amazing.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Show us even diagram of how these people are all related, please,
- 14:38Speaker 2: because now I'm like at the end there, yeah, they
- 14:40Speaker 2: were like, well, I you guys are now cousins by it.
- 14:44Speaker 1: I don't know, You're right short circuit for sure. But
- 14:47Speaker 1: when I loved about that scene is when it's discovered
- 14:49Speaker 1: that Tracy and Emma are cousins and lazy She's like, oh,
- 14:54Speaker 1: but I'm so jealous. I could relate to that moment
- 14:57Speaker 1: so much because imagine you have like a trio of
- 15:00Speaker 1: best friends and you discover two of them are actually related,
- 15:04Speaker 1: even though it doesn't actually change anything. I could understand that. Really,
- 15:09Speaker 1: It's like, oh, i'd be jealous too. Nah. It's like
- 15:14Speaker 1: the scene in Friends where Rachel gets pregnant and they're
- 15:19Speaker 1: all talking about like, oh, I'm going to be an
- 15:21Speaker 1: it and I'm going to be an uncle. Amanka goes,
- 15:22Speaker 1: but I'm the only real aunt. Yeah, she's got to
- 15:25Speaker 1: have that moment. I can relate. I have a strong
- 15:30Speaker 1: jealous streak runs deep that You're so funny. You do
- 15:34Speaker 1: not oh I do.
- 15:36Speaker 2: You've never like shown it to me. I mean, you're
- 15:39Speaker 2: a hater sometimes, but that is born out of jealous
- 15:43Speaker 2: I know, I know, I know. What else did you
- 15:46Speaker 2: wish for?
- 15:47Speaker 1: That's it? Yeah, I didn't have a whole lot. I
- 15:50Speaker 1: just I had a hard time like getting like very
- 15:57Speaker 1: invested in the story. I like wanted to see it
- 15:59Speaker 1: like wrapped up finally, you know, like I did not
- 16:02Speaker 1: care about like, like I said, like the letter or
- 16:05Speaker 1: them working together or like whatever. Yeah, that's where I'm at. Well,
- 16:11Speaker 1: I think with a trilogy like this, with these overlapping storylines,
- 16:15Speaker 1: by the time we get to the third movie, we
- 16:17Speaker 1: have a lot of the loose ends tied up, We
- 16:19Speaker 1: have a lot of the backstory for these characters, and
- 16:22Speaker 1: so this movie has that advantage. We were able to
- 16:28Speaker 1: kick Finn out the door in the first ten minutes
- 16:30Speaker 1: because they had laid the groundwork over to previous movies.
- 16:34Speaker 1: So I think watching this movie is a different experience
- 16:37Speaker 1: than your standalone Hallmark movie. Yeah, I hear you, it's
- 16:40Speaker 1: time for did you see that? And also this is
- 16:43Speaker 1: the help me understand that section for me? Yes, go ahead.
- 16:49Speaker 1: First of all, lighthearted news when they are making Conoli.
- 16:52Speaker 1: How was it even possible that that feeling shoots out
- 16:55Speaker 1: of that piping bag? Like, have you ever used a
- 16:57Speaker 1: piping bag? It's so hard, right, it's not gonna fly
- 17:01Speaker 1: across through. I rewound that scene three times to figure
- 17:04Speaker 1: out how that happened. I still don't to understand it.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Maybe they were like shooting it off camera, like off
- 17:11Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 17:14Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Maybe the product wasn't actually like maybe it was something more,
- 17:22Speaker 2: you know, like the Conolli filling wasn't actually Connoli filling.
- 17:25Speaker 1: It was like light and airy whipped cream. I don't know,
- 17:29Speaker 1: who knows, I don't know.
- 17:32Speaker 2: When she says goodbye to Finn when he leaves to La,
- 17:36Speaker 2: like she like just gives him a big hug, and
- 17:39Speaker 2: I was like, this relationship is dead and like they
- 17:44Speaker 2: have no chemistry between them at all. I was just
- 17:48Speaker 2: was like, is there even a question about you going
- 17:51Speaker 2: to LA with this guy?
- 17:52Speaker 1: Because I don't see it. So I also rewound that scene.
- 17:58Speaker 1: There were several scenes that I rewound to take a
- 18:00Speaker 1: c look like did they even share a kiss in
- 18:02Speaker 1: that moment? And they've been together for years over the
- 18:06Speaker 1: entire course of these other two full relationships and marriages,
- 18:10Speaker 1: and Almark can't even break the trope of you only
- 18:14Speaker 1: kiss the person that you end up with for that
- 18:16Speaker 1: and that I was like, come on, you're not even
- 18:18Speaker 1: gonna give like he's leaving and you're just gonna hug
- 18:21Speaker 1: him goodbye. I know, it was weird.
- 18:25Speaker 2: There was one scene where she calls Lacey. I don't
- 18:28Speaker 2: remember Lacey's character's name, Avery, Avery, and Avery's on the
- 18:33Speaker 2: phone in her living room and there's like a fake
- 18:36Speaker 2: fire in the fireplace.
- 18:38Speaker 1: It looks like, yes, but did you see it? I did.
- 18:40Speaker 1: It was like a fake photoshop fire going. But you
- 18:43Speaker 1: know there are fireplaces that are like that. But that
- 18:48Speaker 1: I noticed it was weird. Okay, And here's my next one.
- 18:52Speaker 2: That Vail has a snag in it, right, and it
- 18:57Speaker 2: happens during Emma's time with the veil. Why wouldn't her
- 19:02Speaker 2: now family, who has a you know, long history working
- 19:05Speaker 2: with Lace fix the veil?
- 19:07Speaker 1: Yes? Because if your story is so loose that you
- 19:10Speaker 1: cannot invent another way for Tracy and her dude Nick
- 19:15Speaker 1: to run into each other, Yeah, your story needs help. Yeah? Agree?
- 19:20Speaker 1: How is it that two adults adults like, these characters
- 19:24Speaker 1: are easily in their thirties, if not their forties. I
- 19:27Speaker 1: know the actors are in their forties. Are so awkward
- 19:30Speaker 1: with each other as they're falling for each other that
- 19:32Speaker 1: they never have a discussion. They have not one, but
- 19:36Speaker 1: multiple awkward moments where it seems like, oh, something's happening
- 19:39Speaker 1: here and they dance around it. We're not children. Why
- 19:45Speaker 1: can we not have a conversation. Why does it have
- 19:47Speaker 1: to get all the way to the point where he's
- 19:50Speaker 1: about to kiss her and she's like, I can't do this.
- 19:52Speaker 1: I'm not ready have a conversation. Please. It's just bad
- 19:58Speaker 1: writing when it comes to too, I think, or bad storyboarding.
- 20:03Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know. I saw something on
- 20:06Speaker 1: Instagram last night from Hallmark Heartbeats, which is a fellow
- 20:11Speaker 1: Hallmark podcaster, and this was interesting. This was another blind
- 20:17Speaker 1: spot for me. She says. This Asian Italian fusion restaurant
- 20:21Speaker 1: is getting on my damn nerves. Pick a country in
- 20:23Speaker 1: Asia to fuse with Italian food. There are many cultures.
- 20:26Speaker 1: You can't just say Asian fuse with Italian. It's a
- 20:29Speaker 1: little microaggression. Either pick a country in Asia or call
- 20:33Speaker 1: it European Asian fusion. Ah, and then the next slide
- 20:40Speaker 1: says Asia is a continent with forty eight countries, each
- 20:43Speaker 1: one with different cuisines. Please pick one from a proud Filipino. Yeah,
- 20:48Speaker 1: that's just bad, bad research on the writers. Right.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Yes, research is the wrong word, but you know what
- 20:55Speaker 2: I mean, lazy?
- 20:56Speaker 1: Who wants Who wants a tie Italian fusion restaurant? I don't,
- 21:01Speaker 1: I don't. I don't think Italian fuses well with other
- 21:05Speaker 1: who wants fusion food.
- 21:06Speaker 2: I like Italian food and I like tai food, but
- 21:08Speaker 2: I really particularly not interested in putting them together. Also,
- 21:13Speaker 2: this isn't in my notes, but that giant sign they
- 21:15Speaker 2: have on the sidewalk in front of his restaurant, there
- 21:19Speaker 2: is not that much real estate in New York. That's
- 21:22Speaker 2: how you know this was not filmed in New York.
- 21:23Speaker 2: There's Have you ever been in a New York restaurant.
- 21:26Speaker 2: They are tiny, they are cramped, they are two feet
- 21:28Speaker 2: from the street. There is no way that this startup
- 21:33Speaker 2: restaurant has that much real estate for.
- 21:35Speaker 1: A huge sign. Yeah dumb.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Yeah, even even now, like New York restaurants all have
- 21:44Speaker 2: like out have outdoor seating.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Two so it's like, no, there's no space for anything.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Yeah, you have to walk in the street to get
- 21:51Speaker 2: around them. Yeah, what'd you rate this movie? I give
- 21:55Speaker 2: it three stars. It's what I gave the unveiled version too,
- 22:01Speaker 2: because because like I said before, I don't.
- 22:03Speaker 1: I don't, I don't know, I don't know. I also
- 22:06Speaker 1: gave it three stars. I don't remember what I gave
- 22:08Speaker 1: Wedding Veil Unveiled. Here we go two point five stars. Interesting. Oh,
- 22:13Speaker 1: I don't know that. I think this is better than that.
- 22:15Speaker 1: But I was in a three star kind of mood.
- 22:18Speaker 1: I'm trying to rate these movies on their own, not
- 22:21Speaker 1: I read it. This one. I think it's better. It
- 22:23Speaker 1: just this is how I feel. I gave this movie
- 22:25Speaker 1: three stars.
- 22:26Speaker 2: I have a question. Yeah, before we wrap it up,
- 22:29Speaker 2: who do you think wore it best? Who wore the
- 22:31Speaker 2: veil best?
- 22:34Speaker 1: I would go Lacey Ali Autumn. Who's Ali?
- 22:39Speaker 2: Oh, I'm such a dummy.
- 22:44Speaker 1: I thought you were safe. Their character names Lacey an
- 22:49Speaker 1: Autumn are not their character names.
- 22:50Speaker 2: My god, if I need a cup of coffee, tell
- 22:53Speaker 2: me again, Lazy Ali Autumn.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Agree. I have to agree with that. I did. I
- 22:58Speaker 1: did like Ali's look.
- 23:00Speaker 2: I thought her wedding dress was a little dated.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Oh yes, with the little tiny beaded belt, I was
- 23:09Speaker 1: thinking maybe like that that straight across neckline, you know,
- 23:13Speaker 1: to the shoulders. Yeah. Thank you so much for listening
- 23:17Speaker 1: to this episode of the podcast as we wrapped up
- 23:19Speaker 1: our thoughts on the Wedding Veil trilogy. We will be
- 23:22Speaker 1: back next week with the final Love youary movie out
- 23:26Speaker 1: There in the Cold, all by itself, Welcome to Mama's.
- 23:30Speaker 1: Feels like it ties in. It feels like an you know,
- 23:33Speaker 1: Italian We've got food. I don't know. Is it the
- 23:36Speaker 1: same movie? I don't know. Maybe we will have our
- 23:40Speaker 1: thoughts on that and we will let you know what
- 23:42Speaker 1: we think. So come back for that and be sure
- 23:44Speaker 1: to join us on Tuesday for our regular weekly episode.
