- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop so Morning, I had a
- 0:31completely different plan of what I was going to talk to you
- 0:33about and then I walked outside, it opened my door and it was
- 0:37unbelievably different. What the weather had brought to
- 0:39us overnight? We went from being in the 80s,
- 0:44high 80s, close to 90 yesterday during the day.
- 0:47And then our nights are always humid and very heavy this time
- 0:52of year. But oh my, gosh, this morning, I
- 0:54opened the door and it is sweatshirt and pants weather and
- 0:58we are in like six 88 degrees. And for us, that seems like
- 1:03winter over some of your going to be like laughing that's warm,
- 1:06but no, it was absolutely a shift, no humidity and it feels
- 1:12glorious. And so I thought to myself, when
- 1:14I walked out the door and instantaneously my state
- 1:17shifted, not that I was in a bad state but like I was like, oh oh
- 1:22my gosh, it feels so great. It feels like pumpkin spice,
- 1:25whether it feels like this and I had this Rush of adrenaline to
- 1:29the fall. Coming in and I thought to
- 1:32myself. Wow.
- 1:33Isn't this amazing? How we have such a great ability
- 1:39to take in different things out in the world and have different
- 1:43senses of things. And all of a sudden like you,
- 1:45I'm not just thinking about something, but my body has a
- 1:48reaction to it. My sense of smell has a reaction
- 1:51to things. I mean, the air smells
- 1:53different. Everything is different and I
- 1:56thought this would be a great time to just remind everybody
- 1:59because I had such Such a visceral experience with it and
- 2:02I was like, this is it? We're going to talk about this
- 2:04today. So using all of your senses to
- 2:07shift yourself is incredibly important.
- 2:10Being able to not just think your way through it.
- 2:13Yes, that is mostly what we work on what we interpret and how we
- 2:17turn our beliefs into something. But also allow your other senses
- 2:22to become part of what you're noticing and taking in, you
- 2:25know, often we're wired to just notice, what's wrong?
- 2:29As I've talked to you about before.
- 2:30Normal it happens. We can't get around it.
- 2:32It's here to help us and protect us.
- 2:34So if you smell something and that sense of smell says that's
- 2:38fire, you start to become cautious because as humans we
- 2:41know we can sit by a fire and absolutely enjoy the smell of
- 2:45it. But if we don't know where it's
- 2:47coming from, we have a sense of panic.
- 2:49So it's really tuning into all these other parts of ourselves
- 2:53that allow us to go and make a distinction about something and
- 2:58have a glorious. Into it, not just a negative
- 3:02reaction, have something that comes in like that smell of fall
- 3:05air and that cool air. So, it was not just the coolness
- 3:09on my skin, that was the first shift but the smell of the air
- 3:12was the second shift and it made me feel amazing.
- 3:16Like I said typically you smell something you're like what is
- 3:19that? Awful smell rarely.
- 3:20Do we sit there and say oh that smells so good.
- 3:23There are plenty of them around us but we just no pun intended
- 3:27blow right by where we're not paying attention.
- 3:30Because that's what we do and it's so incredibly important to
- 3:36be able to use all of our senses to take in the world around us
- 3:40so we can stop and have those grand moments of appreciation.
- 3:44You know going into that those those minuscule moments of
- 3:50finding gratitude and glory in a moment and absolute pure joy
- 3:56helps us throughout our day. Stay grounded, stay in a state.
- 4:00State where we are in a much better mindset.
- 4:03Stay in a state where we're open to better things happening.
- 4:07Stay in a state where we can appreciate instead of criticize
- 4:11or stay in a state where we're not looking for constantly, the
- 4:16situation of what's wrong? What's wrong?
- 4:17What's wrong? What's wrong?
- 4:18Because we all know. Well God we know we're wired for
- 4:22find what's wrong? And we do it really well, most
- 4:25of the time. So today I would challenge you
- 4:29to go and say Okay, even if it's raining where you are, even if
- 4:32you're not having one of those experiences go and try to find
- 4:36something that allows you to say, I'm using my other senses
- 4:40and don't forget that you can listen to the how I just screwed
- 4:43that one up instead of saying please remember I rarely do
- 4:46that. Wow, that was an interesting
- 4:48thing. So anyway let me rephrase that
- 4:51because I want you all to know. Yes I do screw that up.
- 4:53Sometimes to please remember to go and use tactile skills as
- 4:58well go in and say, Okay, I want to use my hands for something I
- 5:02want to, you know, paint. I want to project.
- 5:05I want to, you know, color do clay Garden knit, whatever your
- 5:10thing might be. Don't forget the tactile parts
- 5:14of you that bring out happy moments and joy and greatness
- 5:17and and allowing all of your skills all of your senses to
- 5:22come out. You know, I have a client who
- 5:25loves to bake bread. I wish I lived closer to her
- 5:27because boy, she is just Absolutely thrilled right now.
- 5:32When we go into fall her bread bacon, goes off the hook.
- 5:36Sourdough, Rosemary, bread's, all kinds of rules.
- 5:39She is obsessed with making bread.
- 5:42I asked her, what is the biggest thing that bread brings to you
- 5:45when you make it? And she goes, well one, I have
- 5:48to have patience with it which I thought.
- 5:50Well, that's like, isn't that true too?
- 5:53I have to really think about what I'm going to use it for
- 5:56otherwise, it just sits there and doesn't get eaten.
- 5:59Okay, great. That's it.
- 6:00Really she's you know, forward pacing and thinking she goes but
- 6:03three the best part is I have to use my hands.
- 6:06It's like I directly stick my hands.
- 6:08I'm kneading the dough. I won't use the machines.
- 6:11I do it old school because I want to be that person that does
- 6:15it all old school and I love that because for her that's her
- 6:19way of getting back into the roots of who we are as human
- 6:23beings. So maybe that's your thing maybe
- 6:25you want to make some bread. Anyway I hope you guys find your
- 6:29thing today and The weather wherever you are.
- 6:31Hopefully it's good weather because I'm going to enjoy this
- 6:33weather today. I will see you guys tomorrow.
- 6:36Bye.
