- 0:05Speaker 1: My name is Paul Barre. Welcome back in the tech path.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Let's go into it today, and I do want to
- 0:10Speaker 1: thank our sponsor and that is tangentm. This is a
- 0:13Speaker 1: self custody wallet that's very easy to use and set up.
- 0:16Speaker 1: You guys can just jump over to tangum dot com
- 0:18Speaker 1: their website and of course get your wallet. It's a
- 0:21Speaker 1: card and it works with your phones. Whether you have
- 0:23Speaker 1: an Apple phone or an Android phone doesn't matter. You
- 0:25Speaker 1: guys can start your self custody journey over there and
- 0:28Speaker 1: get the three card set. It's going to help you
- 0:30Speaker 1: out because that way you get an extra I'm always
- 0:32Speaker 1: wanting an extra in around when I'm doing trade, so
- 0:34Speaker 1: it's a way to go. Check it out. It's very
- 0:36Speaker 1: easy to use and use our link. It does help
- 0:38Speaker 1: us out, all right. So let's get into a few
- 0:40Speaker 1: points today. They we're going to kind of have a
- 0:42Speaker 1: little bit of a dex battle and what is the
- 0:45Speaker 1: ultimate dex What you have to look at the titan
- 0:48Speaker 1: out there, and then of course is nice Swap Uni
- 0:51Speaker 1: Swap setting at almost twenty seven billion in volume right there,
- 0:54Speaker 1: and of course their overall total volume right there three
- 0:58Speaker 1: billion sowap everybody. I understands that very flexible, lots of chains.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Everybody's probably used it. If you're on Salana, then you're
- 1:05Speaker 1: most likely using something like Jupiter. Jupiter also another very
- 1:10Speaker 1: popular decks for trading all coins, memes, you name it,
- 1:14Speaker 1: one of the best out there. And of course both
- 1:16Speaker 1: of these have really slick apps. Then you've got Seatus.
- 1:19Speaker 1: If you are in the Suite network, this is the
- 1:21Speaker 1: one for you. And of course sweeen not as large,
- 1:24Speaker 1: but it definitely has some activity going over there, with
- 1:27Speaker 1: total value lock right about one ninety five and trading
- 1:30Speaker 1: volume about one hundred and thirty one million. So with
- 1:33Speaker 1: all that, I wanted to kind of take a look
- 1:36Speaker 1: at the other big one in the in the pack,
- 1:39Speaker 1: and that of course is dex a lot, dex a
- 1:41Speaker 1: lot right here. And the interesting thing here if you
- 1:43Speaker 1: look at the twenty four hour volume, about one hundred
- 1:45Speaker 1: and eighty six million. So to me, I look at
- 1:48Speaker 1: this and say, oh wow, this is the one that
- 1:50Speaker 1: might have some opportunity. So we wanted to invite their
- 1:54Speaker 1: head of strategy onto the show. Let's get him in.
- 1:59Speaker 2: How's it going, hey, Paul, thank you so much for
- 2:01Speaker 2: having me. It's going really well, super excited to be here.
- 2:05Speaker 1: So listen, I'm going to learn a lot about what's
- 2:08Speaker 1: happening within the dexalot ecosystem. One of the things I
- 2:12Speaker 1: want to kind of compare to if you look at
- 2:13Speaker 1: the top ten chains and then you kind of compare
- 2:17Speaker 1: the overall volume dex A loots holding their own down
- 2:22Speaker 1: there at number eleven. So I was very impressive because
- 2:24Speaker 1: most of these are chains. I mean, these are not DEXes.
- 2:27Speaker 1: These are chains, so that in itself. Now, granted, there
- 2:30Speaker 1: is a big difference there once you fall outside the
- 2:33Speaker 1: chains themselves, but the big advantage here, I think is
- 2:36Speaker 1: the fact that there's a big appetite for this. Tell
- 2:40Speaker 1: me a little about what you guys are trying to do,
- 2:42Speaker 1: give me a little bit about your overview and some goals.
- 2:45Speaker 2: That absolutely after absolutely. First of all, thank you so
- 2:48Speaker 2: much for having on the show. I'm a big fan,
- 2:50Speaker 2: super excited to be here. So dex a Lot, as
- 2:53Speaker 2: you correctly pointed out, is a standalone liquidity network. Okay,
- 2:58Speaker 2: the best way to think about it is, and you know,
- 3:00Speaker 2: I'm going to give you a cliche one liner. We
- 3:02Speaker 2: are the liquidity layer for the world, and that's the intention. Right,
- 3:06Speaker 2: We're a big believer in multichain future. We're a big
- 3:09Speaker 2: believer in applications specific networks. If you put these two together,
- 3:14Speaker 2: we are a liquidity and trading specific network designed to
- 3:20Speaker 2: be the most capital efficient offering that can serve that
- 3:24Speaker 2: liquidity out to any other networks as well. Now, one
- 3:26Speaker 2: thing I'm going to tell you about what you just showed.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Those chains that you showed have a little bit of
- 3:33Speaker 2: additional volume that they're recording because of the liquidity that
- 3:36Speaker 2: we serve out to them. Okay, right, And you know,
- 3:41Speaker 2: we ourselves have a liquidity layer that produces volume, but
- 3:44Speaker 2: we also serve the liquidity which translates as additional volume
- 3:47Speaker 2: to those networks as well.
- 3:49Speaker 1: I'm looking at this list right here, and I see
- 3:52Speaker 1: this capital efficiency category and if you look at dex
- 3:57Speaker 1: a lot, you guys are right there as one of
- 4:00Speaker 1: the most capital efficient within it. And first of all,
- 4:04Speaker 1: explain capital efficiency to me, how does that apply to
- 4:08Speaker 1: a DEX.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Yes, So the easiest way to think about capital efficiency
- 4:12Speaker 2: is for you and me as an end user to
- 4:16Speaker 2: get a good price for a certain amount of trade
- 4:20Speaker 2: size that I want to do. How much capital does
- 4:23Speaker 2: the exchange or the underlying solution need to have. Okay, okay,
- 4:28Speaker 2: there are multiple types of exchanges. As you know, AMMS
- 4:32Speaker 2: as was invented by UNISWAP, very prominent solution and originally
- 4:37Speaker 2: it was created to solve a protocol lever problem. And
- 4:41Speaker 2: obviously in the capital markets we have the central limit
- 4:44Speaker 2: or style exchanges. Capital efficiency in the context of these
- 4:49Speaker 2: two different types means that one exchange, the AMM style
- 4:54Speaker 2: exchanges need a lot more capital to produce the same price,
- 4:59Speaker 2: and central order book style exchanges need a lot less capital,
- 5:02Speaker 2: I'll by a little bit more technical capability to produce
- 5:05Speaker 2: the exact same price. Okay, Now set set simply, Uh,
- 5:11Speaker 2: you need a billion dollars to produce a tight price
- 5:14Speaker 2: on an AMM. You need five million dollars in the
- 5:17Speaker 2: case of dex a lot to produce a better price
- 5:19Speaker 2: at a better depth in the case of DEXOL.
- 5:22Speaker 1: All right, So you just explained the efficiency and also
- 5:25Speaker 1: kind of the the clob which everybody kind of refers
- 5:27Speaker 1: to it. But the question I have is when you
- 5:30Speaker 1: when you use dex a lot, I guess this is
- 5:32Speaker 1: more of a user Uh. I won't call it restriction,
- 5:35Speaker 1: but it's it's a different way of doing it. You
- 5:37Speaker 1: go to uniswap. It's connecting to wallets. You know, you've
- 5:40Speaker 1: got that flexibility here with dex a lot. Now I've
- 5:44Speaker 1: got a deposit funds which is a little bit of
- 5:46Speaker 1: a different loophole and hurdle that I've got to so
- 5:49Speaker 1: explain why that is and is there any plan to
- 5:52Speaker 1: train change that?
- 5:54Speaker 2: Absolutely so. Dexcel it actually has two core products. Core
- 5:57Speaker 2: product number one is exactly what you're describing. It's the
- 6:00Speaker 2: central limited order book, where the user experience admittedly is worse,
- 6:04Speaker 2: but it's equivalent to what centralized exchanges have. You have
- 6:08Speaker 2: a wallet, you have assets, you deposit it to a
- 6:11Speaker 2: smart contract, Unlike centralized exchanges, positive to a smart contract,
- 6:16Speaker 2: and that smart contract allows you to enter, buy and
- 6:19Speaker 2: sell orders. It is a lot more capital efficient, It
- 6:22Speaker 2: is a lot more compatible for market makers who provide
- 6:25Speaker 2: the liquidity, but as you said, much worse ux We
- 6:29Speaker 2: recognize this quite early. We have a second core product
- 6:32Speaker 2: called simple Swap, which essentially eliminates the user's need to
- 6:37Speaker 2: go through that deposit, wait for it to deposit and
- 6:40Speaker 2: to orders user experience and mimic the exact user experience
- 6:44Speaker 2: that uniswap invented, which is a click and trade experience,
- 6:49Speaker 2: So we have that capability today. The difference versus an
- 6:52Speaker 2: AMM is you trade directly against the liquidity we have
- 6:57Speaker 2: in the club with a single click, without ever needing
- 7:00Speaker 2: to know about our network, without ever needing to know
- 7:02Speaker 2: about bridges, and everything is atomic. You click, you trade,
- 7:06Speaker 2: you're done. So we provide that capability as well, and
- 7:09Speaker 2: it is very important to acquire users, as you correctly
- 7:11Speaker 2: point it.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Out, So I think a lot of people are trying
- 7:15Speaker 1: to understand because DEXes, of course play a huge role
- 7:18Speaker 1: in these alt coin heated markets, everything from meme tokens
- 7:23Speaker 1: to even if you're trying to just move within an ecosystem,
- 7:26Speaker 1: like you know, if you look at what's happening on
- 7:28Speaker 1: Suie or what's happening on Salana, what's happening on Base,
- 7:32Speaker 1: all of those have very efficient models for the more
- 7:35Speaker 1: active trader and also for a lot of new people
- 7:38Speaker 1: who are maybe going into a decentralized exchange for the
- 7:40Speaker 1: very first time, you know, and don't really completely understand
- 7:43Speaker 1: the difference. But of course Avalanche has really been able
- 7:47Speaker 1: to get a lot of ground under it in terms
- 7:49Speaker 1: of development there of course, the new l ones within
- 7:53Speaker 1: the Avalanche ecosystem subnets. Many people refer to them, but
- 7:56Speaker 1: essentially you get a whole bunch of chains that we'll
- 7:58Speaker 1: be able to apply to what's happening over on dex
- 8:01Speaker 1: a lot. I'm looking at supported networks Avalanche of course
- 8:05Speaker 1: right there on top arbitrum base. What is the likelihood
- 8:09Speaker 1: of us seeing more supported networks here and how long?
- 8:14Speaker 2: Extremely high. I will tell you this. You pointed out Avalanche, right.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Avalanche is the underlying technology that we use. But as
- 8:21Speaker 2: I said earlier, we're a big believer in the multichain future.
- 8:24Speaker 2: So the short answer is you're going to see a
- 8:26Speaker 2: lot more networks there. A very simple example. I will
- 8:30Speaker 2: not go out and officially name anything because you know
- 8:33Speaker 2: some of these things aren't released, but imagine big games
- 8:37Speaker 2: launching on their own networks. They are game specific networks
- 8:42Speaker 2: that will exist, but they're token. Their underlying economy will
- 8:46Speaker 2: still need liquidity. Our architecture allows us to directly integrate
- 8:51Speaker 2: their token or even their product, or we allow our
- 8:55Speaker 2: tech to be integrated directly into them because we're a
- 8:58Speaker 2: standalone network that can directly go out. Like I said,
- 9:01Speaker 2: we serve the liquidity out to them, okay separately, separately
- 9:05Speaker 2: as you said, general purpose networks. You know, mon Ad
- 9:09Speaker 2: is one we're interested in, Solana is one we're interested in.
- 9:11Speaker 2: There's quite a number of new ones coming move so
- 9:14Speaker 2: we're looking at all of these and you know, one
- 9:16Speaker 2: of my co workers always say, we're targeting at least
- 9:18Speaker 2: ten more in the next year, So let's put it
- 9:21Speaker 2: that way.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Well, I think the flexibility of that is going to
- 9:23Speaker 1: make I mean, you look at just the expansion of
- 9:26Speaker 1: what uniwap has been able to do. When they start
- 9:28Speaker 1: adding on that flexibility and interoperability, it does expose the
- 9:32Speaker 1: networks out there in terms of the number of players,
- 9:34Speaker 1: but also regions around the world. I want to jump
- 9:37Speaker 1: back because I forgot something that I wanted to hit on,
- 9:39Speaker 1: and that's the DP incentives. When I'm looking at the
- 9:42Speaker 1: dex Alot platform, You've got these zones within here, and
- 9:45Speaker 1: this kind of shows you these DP incentives right here
- 9:48Speaker 1: that I'm showing on screen. Let me kind of see
- 9:49Speaker 1: if I zoom in on that a little bit for
- 9:51Speaker 1: you guys, but if I hover over those, you'll be
- 9:54Speaker 1: able to see some DP incentives. Explain that and why
- 9:58Speaker 1: that works so unique with in the Dexalot system.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Absolutely, and you literally hit the nail on the head
- 10:07Speaker 2: tip or DEXOLO Incentive program is one of the key
- 10:10Speaker 2: reasons as to you or our users or people seeing
- 10:14Speaker 2: big growth in the dex al outside. Okay, now, going
- 10:17Speaker 2: back to the AMM examples. Amms create incentives for people
- 10:21Speaker 2: to bring in their capital and lock it within the system,
- 10:24Speaker 2: and the system uses that capital to provide prices for
- 10:28Speaker 2: people who need to do trading. In our case, we
- 10:32Speaker 2: don't need to provide incentives to bring a lot of capital.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Why because we're capital efficient, our market makers and our
- 10:39Speaker 2: existing users have enough capital in the system that would
- 10:42Speaker 2: allow for the same or better price to already exist. Therefore,
- 10:47Speaker 2: the XO Lot Incentive program was designed to bring in
- 10:52Speaker 2: liquidity rather than capital. There is a subtle difference, right
- 10:55Speaker 2: what we want and that's the exact blue zone that
- 10:58Speaker 2: you highlighted. What we want is people bringing in capital
- 11:03Speaker 2: only within the zones where we know trading happens. Yeah,
- 11:08Speaker 2: if you have capital that sits way outside, if you're
- 11:11Speaker 2: trying to sell a box at one hundred bucks today,
- 11:14Speaker 2: you know it's not liquidity that anybody can use. Right. However,
- 11:18Speaker 2: having liquidity that is near the market is extremely valuable. Therefore,
- 11:22Speaker 2: we created these dynamic bands within which if you provide liquidity,
- 11:27Speaker 2: you receive incentives. These incentives are our own token emissions
- 11:31Speaker 2: as well as our partner tooken emissions such as the
- 11:34Speaker 2: Avalanche Avalanche Foundation or any projects that we would be
- 11:38Speaker 2: listing in the future as well.
- 11:41Speaker 1: So you've got a max limit a min limit. Yeah,
- 11:46Speaker 1: go into that a little bit, because I'm sure a
- 11:47Speaker 1: lot of people who have used X a lot they
- 11:49Speaker 1: may not completely understand the benefits of this and what
- 11:52Speaker 1: we're looking at on screen there, guys, it's kind of
- 11:54Speaker 1: hard to see, but I want to show you. See
- 11:56Speaker 1: that little almost glowing blue section. That's what he's reference
- 12:00Speaker 1: right there is where these incentives occur both on the
- 12:03Speaker 1: order book. So explain the max limit and the midlimit.
- 12:07Speaker 1: How does that work?
- 12:08Speaker 2: Okay, So think of it this way. Right, if you
- 12:11Speaker 2: want to trade one dollar, it's easy to trade because
- 12:14Speaker 2: you have a lot of capital already in the blue zone.
- 12:16Speaker 2: But if you want to trade one hundred thousand dollars
- 12:19Speaker 2: or a million dollars, now you have to clear many
- 12:23Speaker 2: of those orders provided by other people, and your price
- 12:27Speaker 2: is going to get gradually worse. What we want to
- 12:29Speaker 2: do is we want to concentrate the most amount of
- 12:31Speaker 2: liquidity for you to trade that large size near the
- 12:35Speaker 2: mid price. The mid price is that green number in
- 12:38Speaker 2: the middle on the lefts yeah, yeah. And the idea is,
- 12:42Speaker 2: the closer the liquidity is to the fair market price
- 12:45Speaker 2: of an asset, the more valuable it is. Right now,
- 12:49Speaker 2: going into the formula a bit, and please hold me
- 12:51Speaker 2: accountable if I'm becoming too technical. The idea is we
- 12:54Speaker 2: will rank you on the amount of dollars or amount
- 12:57Speaker 2: of tokens that you're going to place near that mid
- 13:00Speaker 2: price the fair price. We're going to value you how
- 13:03Speaker 2: long you stay there, and then we're going to value
- 13:07Speaker 2: on how close you are, how long you stay, and
- 13:11Speaker 2: how large the amount you're putting on is. So that's
- 13:14Speaker 2: one ranking. Then we rank people on how much activity
- 13:18Speaker 2: they do, I mean, how much trading they do. And
- 13:20Speaker 2: then we have a small kicker for holding some of
- 13:22Speaker 2: our tokens, which gives you overall ranking. Obviously, this ranking
- 13:26Speaker 2: gets better if your liquidit equality is higher. You don't
- 13:29Speaker 2: necessarily have to trade. If your liquidity is great, you
- 13:33Speaker 2: still receive rewards, right and then at the end of
- 13:36Speaker 2: the month, we rank everyone and we distribute incentives instead
- 13:39Speaker 2: of bringing into right there you go exactly and that
- 13:43Speaker 2: score you see is the formula that I tried to highlight.
- 13:47Speaker 2: And then based on those scores, you receive a ranking
- 13:49Speaker 2: and you receive a corresponding reward. This works quite well
- 13:53Speaker 2: at less point I'll make before I see the stop.
- 13:56Speaker 2: This works quite well because market makers are all formulae
- 14:00Speaker 2: and systematic driven people, right They need to see a
- 14:05Speaker 2: clear path to monetizing the service their providing, which is
- 14:09Speaker 2: the liquidity. And then people who need to trade love
- 14:13Speaker 2: this as well because one day trade they get a
- 14:15Speaker 2: little bit of a rewards, plus they get this amazing
- 14:18Speaker 2: incentivized liquidity, you know, that's concentrated for them, and it's
- 14:22Speaker 2: continuously there to trade at the best possible price. And
- 14:25Speaker 2: that's what's really driving one of the key factors driving
- 14:28Speaker 2: our volume.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Why have we not seen other deckses do this, because
- 14:31Speaker 1: this is a very unique feature that I would think
- 14:33Speaker 1: could be applied to almost any decks out there.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Absolutely Why not? So there are two reasons. One, capital
- 14:40Speaker 2: efficiency is very low on non clubs, so almost all
- 14:44Speaker 2: of the exchanges that you've seen that comes since twenty
- 14:47Speaker 2: seventeen have been AMM style exchanges. They need to have
- 14:50Speaker 2: capital more importantly than anything. And you've actually seen this
- 14:54Speaker 2: quite a bit. Once the incentives wear out and once
- 14:58Speaker 2: the capital deployers realize that they're no longer earning money,
- 15:03Speaker 2: that capital goes away, right. You see from capital fleeting
- 15:07Speaker 2: from one a m M to the next one, to
- 15:09Speaker 2: the next one to the next one. It's sort of
- 15:11Speaker 2: a become a goal of just tracking incentives with that set.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Centralized exchanges do similar stuff, but not exactly. We have
- 15:21Speaker 2: this unique ability to do it because we're in l one,
- 15:24Speaker 2: because we can serve it out to other places where
- 15:26Speaker 2: we receive a lot of volume. And then you know,
- 15:28Speaker 2: our tech is quite innovative and that's what differentiated us.
- 15:32Speaker 2: I actually expect this type of program to be become
- 15:37Speaker 2: to become a lot more prevalent in the next few
- 15:39Speaker 2: years as more performant block chains appear.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that will. It seems natural to you know,
- 15:45Speaker 1: for those kinds of incentives to be in play, because
- 15:47Speaker 1: that's going to draw in the right kind of liquidity
- 15:48Speaker 1: that you need. I want to jump back to the
- 15:51Speaker 1: supported networks. Let me jump back over here, just so knows. Yes,
- 15:54Speaker 1: the potential here because some of the ones that we've
- 15:57Speaker 1: looked at. You mentioned Solana. What about something like XRP.
- 16:01Speaker 1: You know, if you look at XRP, you could also
- 16:03Speaker 1: look at Polka dot pokadad would be another one that
- 16:04Speaker 1: would be an excellent networks. So what about those?
- 16:08Speaker 2: So far we've only expanded into EVM compatible solutions. Okay,
- 16:14Speaker 2: Solana is going to be potentially the first non EVM
- 16:17Speaker 2: solution we are And real answer here is there is
- 16:20Speaker 2: no reason why we can't do any of these networks. Okay,
- 16:23Speaker 2: if there is a use case, if our community is
- 16:25Speaker 2: asking for it, and if there is volume and capital
- 16:28Speaker 2: efficiency needed on those networks, I can tell you now
- 16:32Speaker 2: that yes, we will do them.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Well there, you guys heard it right now for you XRP.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Army out there pounding the dex a lot Twitter, let
- 16:42Speaker 1: us know, let them know, all right. So let's get
- 16:45Speaker 1: into a couple of other things. There were some arena
- 16:46Speaker 1: tokens that are started to roll out. We're seeing a
- 16:49Speaker 1: little bit of activity back on this. We had this
- 16:52Speaker 1: concept of just for you guys awareness, So arena is
- 16:55Speaker 1: kind of like think of it like an influencer to token.
- 16:58Speaker 1: It almost be if if I was a gamer and
- 17:00Speaker 1: I wanted to bring my own token out, the ability
- 17:03Speaker 1: to have those tokens offered up on say a dex
- 17:06Speaker 1: a Lot. You look at the success of Off the Grid,
- 17:08Speaker 1: which is an avalanche game, We're most likely to see
- 17:12Speaker 1: more and more gaming from Avalanche, which means there's a
- 17:15Speaker 1: potential here for other ecosystems to start to go in.
- 17:18Speaker 1: What about that moving into the dex a Lot ecosystem
- 17:21Speaker 1: in terms of supported tokens.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Absolutely so. I love the Arena guys. I've met them
- 17:28Speaker 2: multiple times. You know, the guys who took it over,
- 17:31Speaker 2: and you know there is no you know, like absolutely applause.
- 17:36Speaker 2: They've done a great job because Arena was not in
- 17:38Speaker 2: a good place at one point, right and they literally
- 17:40Speaker 2: turned it around and they are the last strong group
- 17:44Speaker 2: standing and I think they're going to succeed. With that said,
- 17:47Speaker 2: we absolutely would love to list them. We had this
- 17:49Speaker 2: conversation with them multiple times. The timelines didn't work out perfectly,
- 17:53Speaker 2: but we have this conversation that is active and it's ongoing.
- 17:56Speaker 2: I can't promise anything, but like I said, I love
- 17:58Speaker 2: those guys. I believe they created they basically allowed people
- 18:02Speaker 2: to monetize attention and content in a very unique way,
- 18:05Speaker 2: and we would love to have them as a partner
- 18:07Speaker 2: as well. And we're you know, I'll say, we're working
- 18:09Speaker 2: on Yeah.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Well, listen, you're gonna see a lot I think we're
- 18:12Speaker 1: gonna see a lot more of this, especially as we
- 18:14Speaker 1: see truly decentralized social media start to propagate out there.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Even though we're having a little bit of a slow
- 18:20Speaker 1: run on it, I think there is an evolution that
- 18:22Speaker 1: is going to happen for that. So it would would apply.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Let's talk about the token, utility and the economy. Explain
- 18:29Speaker 1: a little bit about the a lot token. People ask
- 18:31Speaker 1: about this token all the time. Give us more insights.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Yes, absolutely so, first and foremost, our token is our
- 18:38Speaker 2: gas token. Okay, if you think about any layer one solution,
- 18:44Speaker 2: the main token is the gas token. And every time
- 18:47Speaker 2: you do anything on that network, in our case, we're
- 18:50Speaker 2: in exchange. Therefore, when you enter an order, when you
- 18:54Speaker 2: cancel an order, or when you do a trade, you
- 18:56Speaker 2: have to use a little bit of our token to
- 18:59Speaker 2: get that transaction or that action to be recorded on
- 19:02Speaker 2: the blockchain and be persistent if you will, Now, if
- 19:06Speaker 2: you think about token economies though it's really not too complicated.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Hopefully I don't get slaughtered for this comment, but in reality,
- 19:14Speaker 2: it's basically a dynamic between supply and demand. Right We
- 19:19Speaker 2: essentially created a mechanism that deflates the supply as we
- 19:26Speaker 2: give out incentives in the network, meaning on a monthly basis,
- 19:30Speaker 2: we reward people who give us great liquidity in our network.
- 19:33Speaker 2: I should say us will give our takers people who
- 19:36Speaker 2: need to trade good liquidity and they get rewarded at
- 19:39Speaker 2: the end of the month. However, while they're providing this liquidity,
- 19:43Speaker 2: they have to do activity on the network, which translates
- 19:47Speaker 2: to reduction in supply. Right now, we are in this
- 19:52Speaker 2: very unique position where every time a market maker integrates
- 19:56Speaker 2: with us, you will see a big uptick in the
- 19:58Speaker 2: activity of the network. More competition there is in our platform,
- 20:02Speaker 2: the more transactions are going to go through. We also
- 20:05Speaker 2: solve the UX problem. I get this quite often. Let
- 20:07Speaker 2: me touch on that. People say I don't want to
- 20:10Speaker 2: buy your token to do a trade. You don't have to.
- 20:12Speaker 2: We have a nice UX feature on the covers. It
- 20:14Speaker 2: will actually give you the appropriate amount of tokens to
- 20:16Speaker 2: do the trade. So a trader doesn't need to even
- 20:19Speaker 2: know we have a token, or we're a separate network.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Going back, going back to the market maker point, the
- 20:25Speaker 2: more participants, not even market makes. The more participants we have,
- 20:29Speaker 2: the stronger our supply reduction would be, which would allow
- 20:32Speaker 2: us to give out more and more rewards. So we
- 20:36Speaker 2: literally created this initial circular economy that with more activity
- 20:42Speaker 2: really snowballs. And that's just the current state. We've actually
- 20:47Speaker 2: seen some very innovative approaches to further pull in the
- 20:51Speaker 2: community through the use and additional utility of the token,
- 20:55Speaker 2: and I can say that we're very actively thinking about
- 20:58Speaker 2: how further we can the economy and the utility to
- 21:02Speaker 2: you know, make the community a little bit more active
- 21:06Speaker 2: and reward people a little bit more and of course
- 21:08Speaker 2: make our solution even more even better than what it
- 21:12Speaker 2: is already.
- 21:12Speaker 1: So I think that one of the ways to do
- 21:15Speaker 1: that is, uh, it just followed Jupiter's lead. I mean,
- 21:18Speaker 1: these guys this now is probably I would say one
- 21:21Speaker 1: of the best out there. I mean, look at the
- 21:23Speaker 1: unique addresses right now, six hundred and twenty thousand, and
- 21:26Speaker 1: if you look at the activity within this for voting
- 21:29Speaker 1: within the governance, I do it I mean, and I'm lazy.
- 21:34Speaker 1: So they make it easy to a certain extent to
- 21:38Speaker 1: go out there and participate, which again gets back into that.
- 21:40Speaker 1: What about moving into more governance and also the launch
- 21:43Speaker 1: pad you know capability that of course opens up a
- 21:46Speaker 1: whole new layer. What about that kind of strategy for
- 21:50Speaker 1: dex a lot?
- 21:51Speaker 2: So I'll tell you. I'll tell you right now. First
- 21:52Speaker 2: of all, I absolutely disagree that you are lazy. The
- 21:55Speaker 2: content and the type of stuff that you guys are
- 21:57Speaker 2: doing is amazing. I don't believe any of that. But
- 22:00Speaker 2: I'll tell you this, and most people are lazy. Governments, governance,
- 22:05Speaker 2: We've already know that. If it's just governance does not work.
- 22:09Speaker 2: People initially make care, but eventually they fall off. However,
- 22:13Speaker 2: I'm a big believer of incentive alignment. Right, if there
- 22:16Speaker 2: is incentives for people to vote, then they're going to
- 22:21Speaker 2: vote every time. That's what you're seeing with Jupiter, that's
- 22:23Speaker 2: what you're seeing with Aerodrome. All great products out there,
- 22:27Speaker 2: and again you are perfectly dialed into the pulse. We
- 22:31Speaker 2: are actively looking at solutions. So governess has always been
- 22:35Speaker 2: on our white paper. Okay, it's always been part of
- 22:38Speaker 2: our plan because we're a network. We would like to
- 22:40Speaker 2: give people the ability to run their own nodes. Because
- 22:43Speaker 2: we're an l one, we want to sort of open
- 22:45Speaker 2: it up further, right, which Avalanche allows. But again, creating
- 22:49Speaker 2: the appropriate incentive structure, creating the appropriate flywheel that ultimately
- 22:53Speaker 2: accrues the value to the people doing the work is
- 22:55Speaker 2: the tricky part, not just from a technical perspective, but
- 22:58Speaker 2: also from a legal and regular perspective. And that's literally
- 23:02Speaker 2: what we're working on. That's literally what we're banging our
- 23:05Speaker 2: heads against. Right the second we'll have a lot more clarity,
- 23:08Speaker 2: I think in twenty twenty five, but absolutely we'll do
- 23:10Speaker 2: them all if you want.
- 23:12Speaker 1: All right. So the other thing I have to ask is,
- 23:14Speaker 1: you know the app you look at the benefit of
- 23:17Speaker 1: what we've seen out there. UNITWAP of course kind of
- 23:19Speaker 1: leads the game with it, but Jupiter goes out they
- 23:22Speaker 1: launched their mobile app, which is just happened just October eighth.
- 23:25Speaker 1: So this is just now going the likelihood of see this.
- 23:30Speaker 1: You know what about with tax alt Will we see
- 23:34Speaker 1: an app coming soon?
- 23:35Speaker 2: Yeah? So when we had this initial conversation about should
- 23:40Speaker 2: we do an app or should we aim to optimize
- 23:43Speaker 2: our interface, the web based interface four Mobile. The decision
- 23:48Speaker 2: at the time we made was, listen, everybody has a browser.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Will people want to install an app or will people
- 23:54Speaker 2: want to just go to a webpage and do it
- 23:56Speaker 2: because they're already in their Chrome or Mozilla or Safari. Right,
- 24:00Speaker 2: went initially with a mobile optimized web page. However, the
- 24:06Speaker 2: mobile application is still an item on the robot. It's
- 24:09Speaker 2: not currently the one that we're working on. But you know,
- 24:12Speaker 2: as ore UI gets better and as we're as we
- 24:15Speaker 2: get better and better feedback, I think and mobile application
- 24:17Speaker 2: is definitely in the cars as well. Now as we grow.
- 24:19Speaker 2: I think it's not even a question because Coinbase is
- 24:21Speaker 2: the barometer of if we're in a bullmarket or not.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, exactly, well, and I think that is a
- 24:27Speaker 1: good argument though, because you know, this is one thing
- 24:29Speaker 1: that we're in the midst of trying to build a
- 24:31Speaker 1: Web three product, and the question it always comes into
- 24:35Speaker 1: the app ecosystem, and then of course the you know,
- 24:38Speaker 1: let's just say it, the gatekeepers of those app ecosystems
- 24:41Speaker 1: that usually cause some challenges within it, especially with a
- 24:44Speaker 1: Web three product, So that in his self could be
- 24:47Speaker 1: a scenario. So it's interesting that you talk a little
- 24:49Speaker 1: bit more about, you know, the mobile web because that
- 24:52Speaker 1: that I think is still a viable option for a
- 24:55Speaker 1: lot of companies that are developing. Even though the apps
- 24:57Speaker 1: are super slick and if they're done right, it can
- 25:00Speaker 1: really draw in a lot of users. So it's kind
- 25:02Speaker 1: of a catch twenty two for sure.
- 25:04Speaker 2: So the very interesting thing about UX that we found
- 25:07Speaker 2: is that the more clicks you insert on the path,
- 25:11Speaker 2: the harder it ends up being for you know, maintaining
- 25:15Speaker 2: the users. This is very true in capital markets as well.
- 25:17Speaker 2: My background is capital markets. I've done a lot of
- 25:20Speaker 2: FX algorithmic trading type stuff. I had a lot of
- 25:23Speaker 2: clients who asked me, Hey, you need me to answer
- 25:26Speaker 2: three parameters? Can you just give me a button? I
- 25:28Speaker 2: press and you decide everything else? Right? Mobile application and
- 25:33Speaker 2: a web page solution is kind of exactly that. Right.
- 25:36Speaker 2: Do we make people install an application, go to their
- 25:39Speaker 2: application and do stuff or are they already in their
- 25:42Speaker 2: browser and do the mobile I think you need both
- 25:44Speaker 2: because the audiencers are separate. But you know, for now,
- 25:48Speaker 2: we elected to go with the optimized web page and
- 25:50Speaker 2: then you know, hopefully the mobile app will follow in
- 25:52Speaker 2: the future.
- 25:53Speaker 1: As you Okay, well there, you guys heard it here.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Dex a Lot's going to drop the app.
- 25:59Speaker 2: I'm going to get in trouble when I go back,
- 26:00Speaker 2: is definitely going.
- 26:02Speaker 1: To put your feet through the fire. Now, listen, we've
- 26:04Speaker 1: been here with the head of strategy coming in from
- 26:06Speaker 1: dex a Lot. You guys ask about this all the time,
- 26:08Speaker 1: but of course, thank you so much for stopping in today.
- 26:10Speaker 2: We appreciate it absolutely, Thank you so much for having me,
- 26:13Speaker 2: Paul Pleasure you bet all right, So.
- 26:15Speaker 1: You guys get into the Diamond circle and again this
- 26:17Speaker 1: is another place where you can join our own community.
- 26:21Speaker 1: I drop additional content over there, more podcasts, additional research,
- 26:24Speaker 1: all that get stuff. Just by joining that, we send
- 26:26Speaker 1: out an email I think a couple three times a
- 26:28Speaker 1: week right now. So that's a way to keep up
- 26:30Speaker 1: to what's happening here on PBN, and of course follow
- 26:33Speaker 1: me on x at Paul Baron. We'll catch you next
- 26:35Speaker 1: time right here on tech Path
