Transcript
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jackwars fans, welcome in to Duval Daily, presented by Genjag.com.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Aluga, thanks so much for being here Monday, November 3rd, and it is a victory Monday.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_00]: Here in Duval County, a much needed, hard fought, sloppy, ugly victory for your Jacksonville Jackwars, 30 to 29, and over time, against the Las Vegas Raiders in Las Vegas.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: This game felt like it was slipping away many, many times, but the Jaguars were resilient and we're going to get into the standout performers from my point of view.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: And this one.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I want to give the team a big round of applause, as a whole, absolutely.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: Not perfect, as we mentioned.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: It was ugly at times.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: It was ugly a lot of different times, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: Quarterback has the flu.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: up all night, throwing up, you know, Liam Cohen Jaguar's head coach says he's looking ghostly on the sideline when the defense is out there.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: So you have a quarterback with the flu.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: No Devon Lloyd, no Travis Hunter, no Eric Murray, Jordan Lewis goes down early.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: Both The Army Brown and Brian Thomas Jr. missed time in this game.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: You're down to one tight end at one point.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: You have Austin Tramel.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: and Tim Jones out there on the field at receiver.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, this was a game where it was like, it felt like it was destined for the Jack Wars to not be able to win this one on the road and Vegas against a bad raiders team, like, make no mistake about it.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: A win as a win in the NFL, but the raiders are a bad team.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: Still, with all these negative,
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: you know, instances and also a kicker and embattled kicker who had been missing kicks left and right for a month, all these things coming together and the Jaguar still winning that game is just insane.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: It really is.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content here, please like and subscribe.

- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's 30% off everything for the Jaguar score and 30 points against the Raiders.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: 30% off everything today at Genjag.com.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: Code Duval, that's three use D-U-U-U-V-A-L, Jinjag.com.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: So, getting in to the rest of this game.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, it's a little chilly.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: It's been nice weather here in Jacksonville.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: Got this, the kind of flannel jacket here today.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: Cam Little, as we mentioned, the embattled Cam Little, who Liam Cohen kind of talked about after the game, how everybody has been in the media
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you need to go add another kicker for competition, whatever, the Jaguars, faith, confidence, and Camlittle did not waver, made a 68 yard kick, NFL record 68 yard kick, made another shorter kick, and then made the kick to send the game to overtime against the Raiders.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: A bad snap.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: Credit to Logan Cook for getting it into a spot where Camlittle could make good contact with it.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: Looks like it was very left.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: It didn't, it didn't, Camlittle made it and got it through the uprights on every kick he had in this game.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: Three of three on field goals, huge game tying field goal to send it to overtime, huge
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: The first half, record setting field goal, 68 yards, which was 69, right?
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: But out of a nice, but 68, we'll take it.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: We will absolutely take it for Camlittle and just,
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: Kudos to the Jack Wars for sticking with him.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: I've kind of talked about that.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't think that they should make a move just because we know the talent they should let him kick through it.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: They did that and it paid off in a huge way on this game, in this game.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: Unbelievable performance by Kim Little.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence, the flu game.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know the exact details right of that illness, but based on what you heard from Marissa, from Liam,
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: sounded like, you know, maybe a stomach situation, stomach bug that they had, and I've had that.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know how he went out and did what he did.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: And he wasn't perfect.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about that, obviously.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: The interception early in the game was very costly.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: Could have been costly.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: It ultimately wasn't that costly and the jackwares were able to win the game.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: But even on that drive, he made some absolute crazy throw.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: Like the one where he got drew unnecessary roughness, rubbing the passer, he dropped an absolute dime across the field to Diamy Brown.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he made a number of great throws.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: And he was not perfect in this game.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: He had some accuracy moments of, you know, inaccuracy.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: But to go out there and battle, to show the fight and the endurance that he did throughout that game, two rushing touchdowns.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: He was big in these short-yarded situations for the Jaguars and this one, the quarterback sneaks, going up and over to score the touchdown, late in the game there.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: Ultimately, the game winning touchdown about Trevor Lawrence was gutsy.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: I thought he played with a lot of grit and, you know, cardiac cats, yeah, they're back.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: And Trevor Lawrence was a big part of the Jack Wars being able to win this game.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: I know there's a lot of folks that want to say this and that about Trevor Lawrence, he's not a perfect quarterback.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: And this is not a perfect situation right now.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: You still have a lot of penalties going on, you still have a lot of drops going on.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: You still have some miscuses from Trevor Lawrence himself, right?
- 6:18[SPEAKER_00]: The offense is far from perfect right now.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: But he, I thought, played a really good game.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, that throw on the flea flicker.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to call it that, where Travis ETN bounced it to Trevor on the tossback, Trevor threw a brilliant ball to Brian Thomas Jr. And I don't really
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: like throw brand Thomas Jr. under the bus for not catching it because it was in double coverage and guys got their hand all over it, but he put it right in brand Thomas Jr's hands.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: I thought Trevor Lawrence played really well overall, despite not being perfect.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: And like some, this expectation that quarterback should be perfect or need to be perfect is crazy because you look around the league, most quarterbacks outside of like Seattle right now, not playing perfect.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: Just not happening.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: It's difficult to do.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: In Trevor Lawrence, I thought led his team very well during his flu game.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: good for him.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: Good for him for gutting it out, getting that victory.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: I know that the players, they care a lot less about the stats than people in the media and fans do.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: This was a huge win for Trevor Lawrence and for this football team.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: no doubt about it.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_00]: Travis E. T. N. and other absolutely like irreplaceable piece of this offense today.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think he was charted with nine force mist tackles.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: I just saw that Daniel Griffiths put that out from, I think he got that from, uh, next gen stats.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: But
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, if you're not following Daniel Griffith's follow him on Twitter, he does amazing work, you know, breaking down the stats of games for the Jaguar.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: So that's good stuff there.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: But I thought he had over 10 forced miss tackles in this game.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't chart it.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: Either way, it was incredible.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: How many times he had to make somebody miss in the backfield?
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: Or how many times he bounced off a tackle and picked up five, 10 extra yards?
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: He was special, and 22 carries for 84 yards doesn't look all that impressive, 3.8 yards per carry.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: but he was also targeted five times in the passing game and caught all five of those passes.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: He had over a hundred total yards.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't find the end zone, but it doesn't matter because he was really, in my opinion, the heartbeat of the Jaguar's offense today in a lot of ways and a game where you have all these receiver injuries, your quarterback's battle them through the flu,
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: You have a lot of penalties as well.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: Travis E. T.N.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: was that steady performer that kind of kept the Jaguar's offense on track in a big way.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: And he's had such a good year for the Jaguar.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's like a lot of folks wanted him gone.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: But 119 carries this year, 598 yards, he's averaging five yards per carry.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: He's getting it done in the passing game as well.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: Travis C. T. N. He's in a contract year.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be fascinating to see what happens with him after 2025.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: But for the 2025 season,
- 9:26[SPEAKER_00]: For the remainder of these games, the Jaguars, you know, they're five and three now.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_00]: They've got nine games left.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: He's as important of a piece as anyone.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, that's not to discredit Bacial 2 in or Lee Quinn Allen, who both had some really impressive plays in this game as well, but Travis E. T. N.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: really an impressive back and just his ability to make people miss in this game I think and resiliency to just keep grinding and fighting for extra yards was special.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: Also though you know Parker Washington was special in this game.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_00]: I gave him a lot of flag for his performance against the Los Angeles Rams.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: I think deservedly so.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: But he played really well in this game, targeted nine times, caught eight of them.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: And you had two consecutive plays where Parker Washington makes a great play, and it gets called back due to an offensive penalty.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: And so he fought through that, he battled through that, he didn't care.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_00]: Just kept going, kept getting after it.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: Eight catches for 90 yards.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: his consistency in a game in which again Brian Thomas Jr went down for part of it down me brown was injured for part of it and not playing well you're missing Britain's strangers one of your best receivers you're missing Travis hunters one of your best receivers Parker Washington stepped up and this doesn't need to be a takeaway in my opinion where it's like okay Parker Washington should be the jack or his number two receiver moving forward maybe he should be while Travis Hunter is injured and Britain's
- 11:00[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, yeah, I do feel more comfortable with Parker than Diami.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: They have different skill sets.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: Diami's more of a speed-striping Parker Washington has a more well-rounded game.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe Parker should be the number two right now.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe the Jack Wars should go trade for a potential number two with all these injuries.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: But,
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: This doesn't need to be a takeaway where it's like, okay, Parker Washington, starting receiver in the NFL.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: He does definitely deserve to be a role player, a third or a fourth receiver on a good passing offense, but just the way he stepped up in this game was huge.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: So, big time credit for Parker Washington, obviously.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_00]: One of our mind y'all, football season is obviously and full swing, we're almost halfway through.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: How insane is that?
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: we are pretty much halfway through week nine and the halfway point.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: Underdog, best place to make picks and win money all season long.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: Playing on underdog is easy.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_00]: Just pick whether your favorite players will go higher or lower on stats like touchdowns, receiving arts, interceptions, and more next stop Monday night football and you can now make team picks on underdog.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: very, very cool.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_00]: I like the Cowboys to beat the Cardinals.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_00]: I like DAC higher than 271.5 passing yards.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: Go check it out.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_00]: Again, you can pick the spread, you can take a look at, just straight up, all these different things with these team picks that you can now

- 13:17[SPEAKER_00]: Defensively, actually, first, people would Brian Thomas Jr. BTJ, I thought, was excellent for the Jack Wars in this game.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: You had five total targets.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_00]: He was playing through different injuries throughout the game.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_00]: Five total targets.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_00]: One of them was that deep shot, kind of fleece liquor, whatever you want to call it, down the field, where would have been an insane catch if he held onto it.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: There was guys.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_00]: you know, trying to swat the ball.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_00]: I don't give him any, or, or take anything away from him for not getting that one.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_00]: And then there was one third down, or it was either long second down, or I think it was a long third down, where the connection just wasn't quite there.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_00]: But the other targets he had, you know, a huge 34-yard catch and run late in the game, where I believe it was about 20
- 14:09[SPEAKER_00]: One yards, 22 yards of yak where he was making people miss.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_00]: He was making people with ankles.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: He was doing really well.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_00]: Earlier in the game, he had a play where he forced a missed tackle and got up field and got more yards.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_00]: Three catches, 55 yards, I know that's not like an eye.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_00]: popping stat line, but he played well in this game and he also played with effort when he didn't have the ball, which is something you really wanted to see from him.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think the team challenged him in that regard.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_00]: Shout out to Tim Jones going out there, you know, barely being with the team at all and going out there and having a big catch that the Jaguars needed to pick up a first
- 14:50[SPEAKER_00]: You know, kind of a shallow crosser, you know, shout out to Austin Tramwell as well, who had a huge kick return to to set up the Jaguar score in over time.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: That was massive for them.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_00]: Two guys that, you know, not normally going to be on the field for your Jaguars if there's not a rash of injuries at the receiver position.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_00]: But making plays that helped the Jaguars win the game.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_00]: That's huge.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_00]: Lee Quint Allen, I think, you know, shout out to him as well for,
- 15:16[SPEAKER_00]: He made a key block on the Trevor Lawrence draw play run for the touchdown.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_00]: He also Just fought in a ran hard.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_00]: I thought you know Lee Klan Allen such a tough young rookie for the Jag wars So those are your offensive standouts defensively
- 15:37[SPEAKER_00]: Not as many like straight up standouts throughout the entire game.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you give up 29 points.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_00]: You miss a lot of tackles against Ashton, Gentie, but Kudos to them for slowing him down later in the game.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_00]: He only averaged 3.2 yards per carry.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_00]: Did work in the passing game for sure.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_00]: Did Ashton, Gentie.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, the Jaguar's couldn't cover Brock Bowers to save their life.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_00]: But I thought, you know, the way Josh Heinz Allen stepped up after Trayvon Walker got ejected was big, really big for this team.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_00]: I thought that, you know, obviously tying the all-time franchise record with sacks and a career is huge for Josh Hinds Allen, but he had a sack in a half, he was making plays down the stretch for the Jack Wars and helping them win this game despite, you know, again, the team not being able to cover Brock Bowers at all, having a lot of kind of coverage
- 16:37[SPEAKER_00]: Greg Jr., Greg Jr. Goodness gracious.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_00]: Monday's in my right.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_00]: Greg Newsom played really well.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_00]: I know he gave up the touchdown to Brock Bowers.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_00]: Brock Bowers made a crazy one-handed catch.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_00]: God has butt down in the end zone.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_00]: Congratulations, Brock Bowers.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: Newsom was still in a good position there.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_00]: He really was.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_00]: In my opinion, and he was just sticky.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_00]: He was making plays in coverage.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think they gave him his biggest role that he has had to this point with the Jaguars and a game, starting playing pretty much all the snaps and he played really well.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think that he can continue to do that.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_00]: He's not gonna be perfect.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's a corner-back position.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a perfect position.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's difficult to play all that cleanly as a corner as you can tell by, you know, Buster Brown's performance where he made some big plays.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_00]: Kudos to him, huge interception, change the game.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_00]: had a nice big hit kind of hit stick on the sideline, but he also got beat on some plays as well.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_00]: Lots of ups and downs as they corner back in the NFL.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_00]: But Gregory Jr. What is going on with me today?
- 17:55[SPEAKER_00]: Greg Newsom locked it down in a big way overall for the Jaguars.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_00]: in this game.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm excited to see him continue to be able to have opportunities to start and play a lot of football.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_00]: I mentioned Logan Cook getting the really impressive hold.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_00]: I also thought, you know, he he punted pretty well.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't have to punt very much today, but he did get one down right around the five yard line.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Raiders ended up scoring on that drive anyways, but it was a good effort by him.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_00]: That's all that really matters.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_00]: He did
- 18:31[SPEAKER_00]: to tie the game in in regulation in a spot where where Cam Little could actually make contact with it.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_00]: So thought that was huge.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_00]: Final one, and we'll go back, I'll review the tape again.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_00]: I watched it already again this morning, but I thought Anton Harris employed really well in this game.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_00]: Somebody who needed to step up and Max Crosby he moved all around the formation.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they did a really good job.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_00]: I thought the
- 19:01[SPEAKER_00]: guards had to reach, had to do reach blocks to try to get to him and that had a really difficult time doing that.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_00]: But when Anton Harrison was one on one with him, I thought he did a good job overall.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_00]: I thought Anton just looked like the most buttoned up offensive lime in the Jaguar as had and he should because he's the most talented one they do have.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_00]: At least right now.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_00]: So that'll do it for the standout performers on the field.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_00]: I also thought Liam Cohen called a great
- 19:32[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar is going to score 40 points in this game easily.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_00]: Mistake here, mistake there, take in touchdowns off the board, you know, potential touchdowns anyways, and not getting as many points as you really should have, and that's kind of in the story of the Jaguar season, beating yourselves, keeping other teams in the game by making self-inflicted mistakes, but they fought
- 19:58[SPEAKER_00]: lot of adversity in this game.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_00]: They fought through it.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_00]: They won the game.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_00]: Big team win.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguar is five and three.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_00]: They're now second place by themselves.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_00]: Still in the AFC South.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_00]: The coldstropped a game.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_00]: So they're now seven and two.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_00]: The Texans dropped a game.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_00]: So they're now three and five.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_00]: So big date, obviously with the Texans in Houston against the division rival.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_00]: Really kind of your archnimesis right now that Houston Texans are.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_00]: I would say
- 20:27[SPEAKER_00]: and the cults, they're starting to face a much more difficult part of the schedule.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar is kind of getting into a part of the schedule where there's some games that look very winnable on paper.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe the Jaggs could potentially catch up to the cults.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_00]: They have three losses.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_00]: The cults have to, the cults have played an extra game, compared to the Jaguar as well.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_00]: It could be tight.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_00]: It absolutely could be.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_00]: If the Jaguars can start winning games again a little bit more consistently, obviously, they lost two games entering their by week.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_00]: Again, fighting through it, fighting through the mistakes, the injuries, all that stuff on the road against the Raiders big team win.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all being here.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoyed the content, please like and subscribe and y'all have a good one.
