• 5:58
to open the season. In top news, jury members
• 6:04
have ordered Meta to pay $375 million for endangering
• 6:09
children online. The state of New Mexico claimed
• 6:13
that Facebook's algorithms and inadequate protections
• 6:16
exposed young users to risks. In a landmark case,
• 6:21
the jury sided with the state attorney general's
• 6:23
office, asserting that Meta's platforms allowed
• 6:26
predators to solicit minors. New Mexico Attorney
• 6:30
General Raul Torres stated, The jury's verdict
• 6:33
is a historic victory for every child and family
• 6:36
who has paid the price for Meta's choice to put
• 6:39
profits over kids' safety. Meta plans to appeal
• 6:43
the verdict, asserting its commitment to user
• 6:46
safety. In business news, America's sneaky inflation
• 6:52
culprit is services like manicures, haircuts,
• 6:56
and doggy daycare. Consumers have plenty of cash,
• 7:01
but rising prices are driving sticky inflation.
• 7:05
Camp Bow Wow in downtown Nashville recently raised
• 7:08
its daily rate to $36, a 9 % increase, yet broke
• 7:13
its daily record with 206 dogs. Owner Steve Lasseter
• 7:18
noted, I don't think anybody even complained.
• 7:22
Robust spending on services is now central to
• 7:25
the Federal Reserve's fight against inflation.
• 7:28
In February, service prices excluding housing
• 7:31
rose by 3 .3 % from a year earlier. In crypto
• 7:36
movement, Bitcoin is unchanged at about $71 ,000.
• 7:43
Ethereum is up 1 % to just over $2 ,000. And
• 7:48
XRP is unchanged at $1 .41. Moving on to a more
• 7:55
local vibe. In our community spotlight on health
• 7:59
and wellness, we are working with a national
• 8:02
Pilates studio to bring you some free classes,
• 8:05
so listen up. Check out Club Pilates with several
• 8:10
locations in the Boston area. Pilates presents
• 8:12
  a comprehensive wellness approach, cultivating
• 8:16
strength, reducing tension, and elevating mental
• 8:19
well -being. Scientific research affirms its
• 8:22
benefits. So now you can check out Club Pilates.
• 8:27
for a free class. With locations in Canton, Wellesley,
• 8:31
Hingham, Brookline, and Framingham, just be sure
• 8:35
to tell them, sunny morning sent you by. And
• 8:39
now, back to the show. Let's talk tech. Deepfake
• 8:45
  technology is becoming increasingly sophisticated,
• 8:48
putting companies on high alert. Last summer,
• 8:52
Reality Defender conducted a study revealing
• 8:55
that Even experts struggle to identify deepfakes,
• 8:58
with many getting half wrong. As this technology
• 9:02
becomes cheaper and more convincing, companies
• 9:05
are targeted more frequently, especially in the
• 9:07
financial sector. One scam in January led to
• 9:11
a Swiss company losing millions of francs after
• 9:14
a fake phone call. Companies are now enhancing
• 9:18
security measures and training employees to recognize
• 9:21
these threats. The damage caused by defakes goes
• 9:24
beyond deception, creating doubt and eroding
• 9:28
trust in corporate communications. And in entertainment
• 9:34
news. In Project Hail Mary, Ryan Gosling stars
• 9:38
in a soaring, woody space epic about a man on
• 9:42
a last -ditch mission to protect the sun from
• 9:44
an urgent threat. The film combines the best
• 9:48
aspects of Interstellar and The Martian recreating
• 9:51
a mix of wonder, adventure, and humor. Gosling
• 9:55
plays Ryland Grace, a former molecular biologist
• 9:59
turned middle school science teacher tasked with
• 10:02
saving the sun from mysterious particles called
• 10:05
astrophages. The movie features an endearing
• 10:09
friendship between Grace and an intelligent alien
• 10:12
named Rocky. While it has some cutesy moments,
• 10:17
Project Hail Mary ultimately aims high. Delivering
• 10:20
a fresh story with bold aspirations. Well, alrighty
• 10:25
folks, it's time for the quote of the day. And
• 10:29
today, our quote comes from the American writer
• 10:32
and philosopher, Henry David Thoreau. And he
• 10:36
said, It's not what you look at that matters,
• 10:39
it's what you see. And that's a wrap for this

morning. You can check out our Instagram, YouTube,
