I hate 98 degrees in 70% humidity. 85 00:05:09,000 --> 00:05:15,000 I hate that. I'm like, I'll take the cold weather because I got told my wife, I can always put more layers on. 86 00:05:15,000 --> 00:05:17,000 You can only get so naked in public. 87 00:05:17,000 --> 00:05:20,000 That is true. That is very, very true. 88 00:05:20,000 --> 00:05:23,000 I also like this time of year, Dr. Trey. 89 00:05:23,000 --> 00:05:27,000 In the same sense, I don't, I always keep my hair pretty short. 90 00:05:27,000 --> 00:05:32,000 I grow it out a little bit because like I need an extra hat on my head now. 91 00:05:32,000 --> 00:05:40,000 So, and I don't have much hair on my head, but to begin with, but yeah, I just need to get through the day that way. 92 00:05:40,000 --> 00:05:45,000 But I can imagine it's as, as the weight has shed it, it's, you feel a little bit more, right? 93 00:05:45,000 --> 00:05:48,000 You kind of miss those days. You earn your own throat a little bit. 94 00:05:48,000 --> 00:05:51,000 It gets, it gets the cold does. 95 00:05:51,000 --> 00:05:55,000 If I'm not, if I don't have the right layers on, the cold does hit me harder now. 96 00:05:55,000 --> 00:06:00,000 Plus, as you get older, the aches and pains kick in a little bit more when it is cold. 97 00:06:00,000 --> 00:06:03,000 For the most part, I'm like, look, I can throw it like right now. 98 00:06:03,000 --> 00:06:06,000 I got on my three quarter inch zip up. 99 00:06:06,000 --> 00:06:09,000 I got on a shirt underneath it. I got a beanie on and it's 50 degrees. 100 00:06:09,000 --> 00:06:17,000 And I'm like, I'm actually too hot now, but typically like yesterday, I went out there to take care of the little mini farm. 101 00:06:17,000 --> 00:06:20,000 And it was like 28 degrees outside. 102 00:06:20,000 --> 00:06:23,000 I'm like walking around like in a t-shirt and a light jacket. 103 00:06:23,000 --> 00:06:29,000 And my wife's like, aren't you freezing? I'm like, no, I can handle it for about an hour and I'm good. 104 00:06:29,000 --> 00:06:32,000 But then my hands get cold really, really fast now. 105 00:06:32,000 --> 00:06:36,000 So I have to go buy mittens this week to survive this weekend. 106 00:06:36,000 --> 00:06:39,000 I just get asked you like, what do you need to buy for clothes? 107 00:06:39,000 --> 00:06:43,000 Do you have a winner jacket? Because I have a huge recommendation for you. 108 00:06:43,000 --> 00:06:47,000 Um, which I'm sure I've given you. 109 00:06:47,000 --> 00:06:51,000 I'm about to say, I don't really know what a winter jacket is. 110 00:06:51,000 --> 00:06:53,000 Like, I have a coat. 111 00:06:53,000 --> 00:06:58,000 You remember the old Seth Rollins leather jacket that had the fur around it? 112 00:06:58,000 --> 00:07:01,000 Oh, like, uh, Moxley had too. What do you mean, Zembro? 113 00:07:01,000 --> 00:07:03,000 Yes, I have one of those. 114 00:07:03,000 --> 00:07:10,000 And that's kind of my go to like, if I got to go out and I'm going to be outside for extended periods of time, I'll go to that jacket. 115 00:07:10,000 --> 00:07:11,000 I'll go to that coat. 116 00:07:11,000 --> 00:07:15,000 But like I told my wife today, because she was telling me she's like, we got to put Sammy in more layers. 117 00:07:15,000 --> 00:07:18,000 And I'm like, he's only walking from the door to the car. 118 00:07:18,000 --> 00:07:19,000 The car is heated. 119 00:07:19,000 --> 00:07:21,000 Then he goes into the school. 120 00:07:21,000 --> 00:07:24,000 He has to walk from the car into the school. 121 00:07:24,000 --> 00:07:30,000 And then the school is heated. So I'm like, if I put so many layers on him, he's only going to have these late. 122 00:07:30,000 --> 00:07:34,000 He's only going to really need these layers for about 60 seconds of a day. 123 00:07:34,000 --> 00:07:39,000 So you, as long as you kind of know what you're doing, you don't need a ton of layers. 124 00:07:39,000 --> 00:07:42,000 But again, I don't have to go outside and shovel snow. 125 00:07:42,000 --> 00:07:44,000 Like you guys do the Northeast. 126 00:07:44,000 --> 00:07:47,000 So you guys would need a good coat. 127 00:07:47,000 --> 00:07:51,000 My like, the longest I'm outside in the cold is the 30 minutes. 128 00:07:51,000 --> 00:07:55,000 It takes me to feed the farm animals for 30 minutes. 129 00:07:55,000 --> 00:07:57,000 Well, my suggestion is car heart. 130 00:07:57,000 --> 00:07:58,000 Always car heart. 131 00:07:58,000 --> 00:08:00,000 I love car heart jackets. 132 00:08:00,000 --> 00:08:02,000 So highly recommended. 133 00:08:02,000 --> 00:08:08,000 Car heart is very popular down here, even though we like people love wearing car heart stuff. 134 00:08:08,000 --> 00:08:12,000 My guy that I trained to run the Birmingham district is from Oregon. 135 00:08:12,000 --> 00:08:15,000 And when I first met him, he was kind of a hippie. 136 00:08:15,000 --> 00:08:18,000 And now all he wears is car heart everything. 137 00:08:18,000 --> 00:08:24,000 All right, you're like the country version of those soccer dads and baseball dads that only wear underarmor. 138 00:08:24,000 --> 00:08:30,000 Kind of the same thing, just different, just different, you know, framework of where you come from. 139 00:08:30,000 --> 00:08:32,000 You're all like, I was joking with him today. 140 00:08:32,000 --> 00:08:33,000 He told me he wanted to buy a Miata. 141 00:08:33,000 --> 00:08:38,000 And I'm like, you wear blue jeans and cowboy boots and car heart stuff to work. 142 00:08:38,000 --> 00:08:40,000 And you want to drive a Miata. 143 00:08:40,000 --> 00:08:42,000 I don't think those two things go together. 144 00:08:42,000 --> 00:08:44,000 But to each their own, I guess. 145 00:08:44,000 --> 00:08:46,000 Yeah, each of their own is certainly right. 146 00:08:46,000 --> 00:08:52,000 So that is your, your daily or your weekly, I should say 10 minutes of two old men talking. 147 00:08:52,000 --> 00:08:55,000 And that's what we talk about here in the start of SRTU. 148 00:08:55,000 --> 00:09:00,000 Everybody who like downloads the wrestling podcast are like, what the fuck are these guys talking about? And the people that are vying for it are the same people that we were like clamoring for when Moxley had it about a year to like 18 months ago, whenever that was going on. 174 00:10:43,000 --> 00:10:47,000 And that is Hangman and a page, Swarth Strickland and Kenny Omega. 175 00:10:47,000 --> 00:10:56,000 This is, I feel like Dr. Dre, you know, maybe if Will Ospreay comes back soon, there was rumbling to maybe he'll be back in January. 176 00:10:56,000 --> 00:11:08,000 I don't think that's happening given the nature of his injury, but there's like very few people that I feel like that are on the sidelines are not involved in AW right now, or maybe doing something else where I'm like, okay, would they be great additions? 177 00:11:08,000 --> 00:11:12,000 It's like, because it's coca-cada, pardon me, would love to see Kyle Fletcher, but he's probably not there yet. 178 00:11:12,000 --> 00:11:16,000 I mentioned Will Ospreay, but on the onset here, like this is really good. 179 00:11:16,000 --> 00:11:27,000 We're coming off of a period of time where Moxley's challengers were kind of me, you know, at certain points of his title reign, even Hangman Page, three, four months ago, with all due respect to Samoa Joe. 180 00:11:27,000 --> 00:11:36,000 It was like he came out of all out, excuse me, all in defeating Samoa, or John Moxley becoming AW World Champion in his matches were Samoa Joe, didn't make sense of the time. 181 00:11:36,000 --> 00:11:38,000 We were like, what's going on with the top of the card? 182 00:11:38,000 --> 00:11:50,000 But this is like a really, really strong top of the card. I love that AW is coming out of the gate full force here for 2026. Is this the AW World Title picture, though that you were vying for like I was Dr. Trey? 183 00:11:50,000 --> 00:11:56,000 Yeah, because I think they finally realized like, oh crap, we have a lot of top baby faces. 184 00:11:56,000 --> 00:12:16,000 And to me, the missing link was MJF, you have a strong heel at the top and you can have the baby faces chase them. And I think when companies have that going on, they tend to have get on better runs because then you can see which baby face gets really, really hot, sells your merchandise and draws people into watch. 185 00:12:16,000 --> 00:12:26,000 We saw that with the early part of the Roman Reigns run when he was a tribal chief, the early parts of it, viewership was up because people were trying to see like who is going to get a knock him off. 186 00:12:26,000 --> 00:12:36,000 And then it just kind of felt like it went a little long at the end. We've seen it, you know, they're in the Ric Flair era, you know, the other heel champions, where it's like we love the chase. 187 00:12:36,000 --> 00:12:56,000 We love the watch, the good guys try to take this guy down. So when you're telling me like, hey, I got swerve, hangman, MJF, you know, all these guys at the top of the card fight. And I'll throw a Joe in there because I know it's kind of, he's almost like a B plus guy and eight. 188 00:12:56,000 --> 00:13:19,000 I love some, I would Joe and he's got a bunch of, a bunch of credibility. So like when you throw all those guys into the mix and you're watching these guys fight it out for the top spot, throw Kenny Omega in there. And any point you can move a caught up or or moxley back up like they're finally making the AW title feel, I don't say relevant, but they're making it feel important again. 189 00:13:19,000 --> 00:13:33,000 And I'm just looking at times over the last few years that title kind of feels like it gets pushed down a little bit and becomes a backup piece and that should be your focal point is everybody fine for the top spot in the company. 190 00:13:33,000 --> 00:13:46,000 Yeah. And that's what like AW has been missing, right? I mean, one of the biggest things with the death right or Zangle when it was originally launched is, you know, who do we want representing AW? And it's like, I love Daniel Garcia, but Daniel Garcia is lead in the charge. 191 00:13:46,000 --> 00:13:52,000 The Darby's in and out he's climbing him out and he's gone. Meanwhile, Swirl and Hangman page or battling out who else? 192 00:13:52,000 --> 00:14:06,000 I said, you know, Darby, you said Darby climbing him out and also getting hit by a bus. Yeah, I mean, it just was and and that may have been circumstance because AW has had a really bad injury bug for the last three years at important times. 193 00:14:06,000 --> 00:14:16,000 Like that is something as you look at this title picture that I don't think could be forgotten is is this is there's some health now on their side omega's healthy sort of Strickland's healthy. 194 00:14:16,000 --> 00:14:30,000 Hangman thankfully has been healthy MJF is back around after filming movies. All the stars are aligning and this is what AW needs after trades. I feel like they need a world title picture that is worth buying for throw some other names in there throw. 195 00:14:30,000 --> 00:14:40,000 Oh God, a throw will us break. He's healthy in there. There's the health again and we've got some some really good stuff cooking up here in the next four to six months for all eat wrestling. 196 00:14:40,000 --> 00:14:58,000 So I'm excited for I love this this title picture right now and it's also given some flexibility to talented guys like John Moxley who you pointed out or the folks from the death writers or members of the Don Calis family that we'll talk about here in just a little bit to help strengthen the upper part of the card. 197 00:14:58,000 --> 00:15:06,000 Of a potential pay per view in the coming months so good times ahead here for AW especially when you look at the world title picture. 198 00:15:06,000 --> 00:15:17,000 And then you know maybe some good times and some bad times depending how you look at it Dr. Trey has there been some major roster changes the rascals it was reported Zachary once. 199 00:15:17,000 --> 00:15:27,000 Desmond Xavier the former Wesley is it what's my read my read and it was reported train Miguel we're leaving TNA to go to eight. 200 00:15:27,000 --> 00:15:41,000 And then powerhouse hops that reportedly finished up with a W during this past Saturday's edition of collision when they dropped the trios championship to hangman page and jet speed and he is expected to sign with WWE 90s already signed. 201 00:15:41,000 --> 00:15:47,000 There are some rumblings that he will actually be in the Royal Rumble match in just about 10 days or so. 202 00:15:47,000 --> 00:15:55,000 Starting with the rascals joining TNA going over to AW I it was funny because there was a lot of people online course Twitter. 203 00:15:55,000 --> 00:16:03,000 They were like comparing this to the radicals jumping over to WWE from the WCW and how much of a huge get this was. 204 00:16:03,000 --> 00:16:12,000 And of course there were people that were arguing back that it was like saying this is no way of comparison and when I think you compare the talents of radicals and compare talents of rascals. 205 00:16:12,000 --> 00:16:31,000 It is not comparable however this is a very big sign for AW all all these guys are extremely talented great characters got to cut a good promo whether you're down with the stone or angle or not and then there are phenomenal wrestlers in the ring. 206 00:16:31,000 --> 00:16:51,000 The thing that was surprising to me out of this entire thing is that the rascals were featured on WWE television not too long ago I believe last year or maybe late 2024 they were on WWE television as part of the TNA partnership when Desmond Xavier now the former West Lee was still involved with WWE. 207 00:16:51,000 --> 00:17:09,000 And then you watch collision this past saturday and this is kind of overshadowing the signing news doctor tray read Xavier once all come out they are being interviewed no train Miguel which let everybody going where is he he had done some retweets the rascals are coming to AW soon. 208 00:17:09,000 --> 00:17:24,000 It was clear he was part of the signing and then you've heard whispers come out that this was this came from the top and it wasn't Tony com which I found extremely confusing well if it's not from who's above Tony com is dad like what are we talking about here. 209 00:17:24,000 --> 00:17:37,000 And then to make a long story short and this is not 100% confirmed but it sounds like he came from Warner Brothers Discovery who was in the news this past week and they. 210 00:17:37,000 --> 00:17:50,000 From stop the signing of train Miguel due to I believe homophobic comments he made towards independent wrestler David star and there may have been some comments in their about his religion as well he is he is Jewish. 211 00:17:50,000 --> 00:18:10,000 That had come out and it was back in 2020 trying Miguel apologized and it is very similar to the brisco brother situation where prior to j brisco passing away Warner Brothers blocked j and mark brisco from being on AW television due to. 212 00:18:10,000 --> 00:18:38,000 Potential racist comments that they hadn't made back in like the early 2010s I mean at one time the brisco brothers are coming to ring and Confederate flags which for a period of time was instill as I guess nowadays is big no no for things the Confederate flag is not seen as a symbol like it was back in the day when the dukes of hazard were doing when the brisco brothers and the brisco brothers and I think there was homophobic comments as well from j brisco and they just kind of you know they apologize for it. 213 00:18:38,000 --> 00:19:06,000 And tried to move on and they did not get. So ever sign AW mark brisco did not appear until after his brother tragically passed away and funny enough Tony con has come out and said multiple times in multiple interviews his biggest regret in AW ever is not having the brisco brothers perform on AW television which I think what that was very telling so we'll get to the powerhouse Hobb stuff here in just a bit but just unpack this all doctor tray. 214 00:19:06,000 --> 00:19:24,000 Rascal sign with AW talk about the jump from TNA to AW and then the train Miguel not being brought on or being released like immediately after being signed the company following some pressure from one of other discovery and then we'll get to the powerhouse Hobb stuff after we talk about the rassals for a little bit. 215 00:19:24,000 --> 00:19:44,000 I think it's a good move for the rascals and AW I mean we've talked about it like their tag team division used to be the cornerstone of the company and it's kind of falling off in recent years and having you know Zach and and and and and does and miren come in. 216 00:19:44,000 --> 00:19:59,000 Well obviously strengthen that up I we've seen you know the elevation of teams like jet speed and some other ones where they might be a little undersized but because of the chemistry they can put together some great matches there they're amazing characters great young man. 217 00:19:59,000 --> 00:20:10,000 I've known all of the rascals almost for a decade not you know not super close but I know all those guys and in the name of this is the show knows I'm a big. 218 00:20:10,000 --> 00:20:38,000 Desmond Xavier West Lee fan I've known miren since he was 17 so I've known these guys for a long time there they are fun they're energetic they are going to captivate the audience so it's a great signing in that in plus for those guys it's guaranteed money you know it they don't have to go they don't have to go out and surf the independence they don't have to do a per show deal like it's a guaranteed contract 219 00:20:38,000 --> 00:21:07,000 and they know they're going to pay so it's a little bit of security for them so I was really really happy with the signing to see them make them move I had a couple friends of my reach out to me asked me like did I think that you know WWE made a mistake and I was like no because what they look at is you know where can we project these guys ago and if they felt like their ceiling was just the tag team division or maybe mid card you're not going to hang on to those guys as furbantly of the end of the season. 220 00:21:07,000 --> 00:21:36,000 As furbantly of as someone else you think has a higher ceiling so I thought it was a great move in that sense did you want me to touch on the tray stuff now or do you want to ask no I think just yeah go right into the tray stuff as well I think it's worth just like I've known like I said I've known I've known Tramagale for 10 years like I love that guy he's such a good person and I hate that this stuff has come back up it is you reference the brisco stuff I also reference the the whole thing. 221 00:21:36,000 --> 00:21:54,000 You know Zach wins when he was Nash Carter and he got fired from WWE because of some stuff that an ex girlfriend raised you know brought up and then some really weird tweets from like a decade earlier I hit guys all the time like be very very careful on your social 222 00:21:54,000 --> 00:22:14,000 me is on what you're saying because stuff like this can come back to bite you in the butt I've like I said I've known Tramagale for a long time he is not homophobic he is not racist he got caught up in a verbal exchange with somebody that he had real animosity towards and he went the cheap route and trying to get back 223 00:22:14,000 --> 00:22:34,000 to this guy and saying some awful stuff that's not who he is as a person and and and sometimes like that stuff come back and get you a special you're going to work for a company that's affiliated with a big corporation and it's publicly traded and those people are going to be super super careful about getting any kind of flag 224 00:22:34,000 --> 00:23:03,000 to me the amazing thing was I didn't know that warbars even knew that the hell Tramagale was so the fact they went through his socials to find this stuff is crazy me I know David star as well I don't particularly like the guy so I understand why Tray got upset with him but to see something that he did seven years ago come back to bottom the button now it is crazy to me because obviously like Jeff I've known you for 15 16 years you're not the same person now you were seven years ago 225 00:23:03,000 --> 00:23:13,000 we all grow we all mature we all make better choices I just hate to not giving trade the chance to show what kind of person he really is 226 00:23:13,000 --> 00:23:32,000 yeah I mean that's a thing I think the cancel culture stuff is is kind of bullshit for the most part unless it's it's extremely extremely warranted like like Kanye West is extremely warranted in a case like Tramagale where somebody said something and made a mistake and it was captured online 227 00:23:32,000 --> 00:23:50,000 I think that's difficult to hold their feet to the fire you know five and a half six years later as you've said I mean when we were younger everybody says and does some stupid shit that they regret later in life and are thankful that it wasn't captured online or didn't lead to anything major in their lives it was a changing point not everybody is so lucky 228 00:23:50,000 --> 00:24:05,000 and it's just interesting Warner Brothers Discovery blocks it AW was going to sign him WWE loud on a perform on television TNA loud on a perform on television if I remember correctly I think he was off TV TV for a little bit when that whole entire situation happened 229 00:24:05,000 --> 00:24:17,000 so it's just I don't know not a big fan of it the entire thing I know that there's some conspiracy theories out there especially with Tramagales relationship with the world champions now wife 230 00:24:17,000 --> 00:24:30,000 I don't think that there's any merit to that whatsoever and everything that we're hearing is that all the resters were fine with it that's just like a classic case of let me try to connect these two things and make it a problem 231 00:24:30,000 --> 00:24:45,000 well not to mention like I'm sorry I mean there Jack like you may recognize traveling I went to I'd be a miss out those two guys know each other really well like outside of the relationship with MGM's wife and Tramagale those guys were friends 232 00:24:45,000 --> 00:25:01,000 so I don't know if there was a falling out at some point but as far as I knew that those guys have never had heat between each other so when I saw that report I was like really it's just because he married somebody that tray used to date that's ridiculous because if that was a case 233 00:25:01,000 --> 00:25:12,000 Randy Orton would have never let anybody come in the WCZ dated half the roster when he first came there so like those things like once again in MJF also knows it's about money 234 00:25:12,000 --> 00:25:28,000 and if something can make money or draw the company money why would you not bring those guys on like all those guys like a lot of those indie guys all came through the same independent area so they've known each other for like I said earlier like they've known each other for a decade so when that some came up I was like that's not true at all 235 00:25:28,000 --> 00:25:41,000 like the only thing I could think it was the water of our situation because once again Tony cotton made the offer to the rascals you don't think he kind of vetted them out through the guys that have worked with them before if there was an issue 236 00:25:41,000 --> 00:25:45,000 that probably would have been addressed before they ever signed into a contract 237 00:25:45,000 --> 00:25:59,000 yeah it's the entire situation is very odd so another situation where we've seen Warner Brothers Discovery stop somebody for performing on AW television despite Tony cotton operating owning the company 238 00:25:59,000 --> 00:26:13,000 Trim and Gell can out and say he's taking a little bit of a break from wrestling I hope mentally he's okay I can't imagine that this is a situation that you know he's obviously happy with his name and his reputation are getting run through the mud a little bit 239 00:26:13,000 --> 00:26:27,000 and it's a huge thing where you know the whole world wrestling world at least has their eyes on it for a week eventually will go away but right now everybody is obviously paying attention to what happened with Trim and Gell on the rascals being signed to all the wrestling 240 00:26:27,000 --> 00:26:47,000 and then the second part about this Dr. Trey is the reports of powerhouse Hobbs leaving AW signing with WWE courting reports AW made a last ditch effort to keep him a very fair deal he decided to go test the market there been some reports that the WWE thought that they were going to have powerhouse Hobbs in the fold since back in October 241 00:26:47,000 --> 00:27:07,000 I don't remember any of those reports coming out powerhouse Hobbs I believe as a got as a Cody guy like a Ricky Saints Ethan Page type he is a CM Punk guy as well extremely talented it was just a prize out of all the times that somebody is leaving AW to go to WWE 242 00:27:07,000 --> 00:27:25,000 this is a case where he held the championship dropped the title like like four or five days ago and now is reportedly making his way to world wrestling entertainment usually Tony Khan takes people off television for a period of time if there's any threat or thought that they would be going to WWE see private party for an example of that 243 00:27:25,000 --> 00:27:39,000 so and Bruce F the former mirror in AW was gone for like an entire year Dr. Trey your thoughts here I think this is a massive get for WWE and I'm excited to see what powerhouse Hobbs can bring to world wrestling entertainment 244 00:27:39,000 --> 00:27:59,000 yeah I'm excited to see I mean when you look at Hobbs like he has all the tools like he's physically imposing he moves well in the ring he works really really safe we haven't seen a lot of his promo ability but I don't really think of it as a weak spot I just don't think of his strength I'm kind of neutral on it 245 00:27:59,000 --> 00:28:15,000 but when you look at the guys at WWE's really been kind of honing in on in their systems it's been the big powerful guys like there's a lack of those type of just physically imposing people in wrestling nowadays 246 00:28:15,000 --> 00:28:27,000 it's funny I've had that conversation with a couple like I saw it with Cody Rose talking to Finn Balor where you know when he came up he always considered himself a light heavyweight and now at 6-1-2-40 he's one of the big boys in WWE 247 00:28:27,000 --> 00:28:47,000 and it's like yeah like we just don't have all those 300 pound guys running around like we did in the 80s and 90s so getting a machine like WWE that kind of knows like hey this is how we push guys like this should be really interesting because Hobbs kind of falls into that war load category 248 00:28:47,000 --> 00:29:03,000 I've just physically imposing young guys that maybe AWD and push in the right direction but on paper Jeff we could have a Hobbs Oba Femme match at some point in the next year like sign me up for that 249 00:29:03,000 --> 00:29:13,000 like those two guys are just big it's the big analogy of just big men slapping meat like I'm here for that's a Hoss fight in itself 250 00:29:13,000 --> 00:29:28,000 yeah it's exciting to see what they're going to be able to do with them so I'm thrilled for the change I think he kind of plateaued in AW for a little bit I think he's somebody that could have warranted getting pushed up the card a little bit higher 251 00:29:28,000 --> 00:29:33,000 he had that run the TNT Champion Champion he's just kind of been like muttering around now for maybe the last year or two years 252 00:29:33,000 --> 00:29:47,000 there's a period of time him and Wardlow had a great feud for the TNT Champion Champion so yeah we'll see where things go with him and if he's making an appearance in the Royal Rumble here in just about 10 days or so 253 00:29:47,000 --> 00:30:03,000 yes quick question did you ever see the movie Hobbs in Shaw with the Rock and Jason Statham I did not know okay was the Rock Hobbs or was the Rock Shaw because I saw the reports that they said they might just call powerhouse Hobbs Hobbs 254 00:30:03,000 --> 00:30:19,000 if Dwight Johnson was Hobbs in the Fast and Furious does that make I don't know I was just kind of like is the Rock going to get mad at somebody is using his screen name as his ring name is it no for Rock Chelsea or kick in 255 00:30:19,000 --> 00:30:35,000 I don't think so I think he was Hobbs by the way I don't think I don't think he'll be upset with that he probably welcome it maybe there'll be a stable like characters that he played in movies somebody is going to be Maui as well that'll be a character that is played 256 00:30:35,000 --> 00:30:39,000 that's the new that's the new member of the bloodline the next Simone they sign is going to be called Maui 257 00:30:39,000 --> 00:30:55,000 they see Mateo is almost called Maui so keeping up here with Dev W. Dr. Trey courting reports Roman Reigns is is the odd man out of the title picture for WrestleMania 42 and there's some more news on the Drew McAttire title 258 00:30:55,000 --> 00:31:07,000 Dave Meltzer shared the following since we last did the podcast here Roman's expected return is to take place at the Royal Rumble W.E. is considering Rhodes vs McAttire or a triple threat with Jacob Fatt 2 259 00:31:07,000 --> 00:31:14,000 Drew McAttire's title room was reportedly decided less than 48 hours before the match on that Friday night edition of Smackdown 260 00:31:14,000 --> 00:31:21,000 Paul LeVec made the call there of hitting the brakes on other Rhodes vs Reigns run due to fan fatigue 261 00:31:21,000 --> 00:31:34,000 and Cody Rhodes thinks he is more valuable chasing a title than holding it I think some of the points we discussed on last week's show but this is just some really certification here of Dave Meltzer's report 262 00:31:34,000 --> 00:31:39,000 starting with Roman Reigns reportedly being the odd man out of the title picture for WrestleMania 42 263 00:31:39,000 --> 00:31:49,000 is that a blow to him in his character or do you think he doesn't need to be in the title match and WWE can salvage this opportunity and put him in a high stakes match or feud 264 00:31:49,000 --> 00:32:01,000 I think WWE because I don't think Roman has to be in the title picture I think he's progressed into that special attraction type mode now 265 00:32:01,000 --> 00:32:05,000 you and I talked about it a couple of years ago like matches 266 00:32:05,000 --> 00:32:12,000 you give me Roman Reigns and Braun Breaker I'm just excited for that as I am anything else I'd be more excited for that than I would be Roman and Cody 267 00:32:12,000 --> 00:32:24,000 I'm fine with Roman not being in the picture heading into WrestleMania season because once again you can move guys around and help elevate them by 268 00:32:24,000 --> 00:32:34,000 you put Jacob Fattu, Drew and Cody in a triple threat match that puts Fattu on another level and it doesn't really push Roman down because he's got that credibility 269 00:32:34,000 --> 00:32:45,000 you could build two brand new stars out of that by doing Braun Breaker Roman Reigns which Braun's already on that path and putting Jacob in that main event triple threat match 270 00:32:45,000 --> 00:32:53,000 now you got two future stars that you're building out for the next ten years much like Roman did in his first match with Brock 271 00:32:53,000 --> 00:33:00,000 I mean it's fine I don't need Roman in the title picture because he's already established who the hell he is 272 00:33:00,000 --> 00:33:10,000 what do you think of the report that Paul LeVac Triple H said that he didn't want to have fan fatigue with the third roads versus Reigns match in what four years I think it is 273 00:33:10,000 --> 00:33:13,000 I think it makes sense I mean we saw that with Brock and Roman 274 00:33:13,000 --> 00:33:19,000 I walked out of New Orleans because it's like oh Brock and Roman again I don't need to see this like we kind of know where it's going to go 275 00:33:19,000 --> 00:33:28,000 and you can save the Roman Cody thing for a year when hey maybe three guys are hurt in WrestleMania season 276 00:33:28,000 --> 00:33:38,000 we need to kind of get a marquee matchup save it for when you need it I don't think this year they need it because you've had so much upward growth of the young stars 277 00:33:38,000 --> 00:33:47,000 and you still have a pretty top heavy you know main event line with with Pong and Cody and Drew like you're pretty set there 278 00:33:47,000 --> 00:33:54,000 so like use Roman in a better spot I mean hell I'd be fine with Roman and Gunther going out at WrestleMania 279 00:33:54,000 --> 00:34:02,000 so there's a couple of options you can play with as long as we don't get Roman and Brock and Roman and Cody again I think the fans will be happy with it 280 00:34:02,000 --> 00:34:06,000 is Cody more valuable chasing than holding the title? 281 00:34:06,000 --> 00:34:17,000 I think so I think Stone Cold was to me awesome was always better when he was chasing than he was when he was the actual champ 282 00:34:17,000 --> 00:34:25,000 and we saw what John Cena when John would have these like super long title runs the crowd would kind of fall out of love with him 283 00:34:25,000 --> 00:34:32,000 I think you know if Cody's on top for four or five months and then spends six to eight months chasing it back down 284 00:34:32,000 --> 00:34:40,000 I think that's what keeps the fans more interested in a white meat baby face character than just having him be super Cody 285 00:34:40,000 --> 00:34:48,000 I've always been better with having a heel champion on top and the baby faces chasing him down we saw with Hogan 286 00:34:48,000 --> 00:34:55,000 Hogan on top as a heel was great because you saw the baby faces try to chase him down and when they finally win 287 00:34:55,000 --> 00:35:00,000 you're like oh my god he finally did it and it be a short win short win now they switch it back 288 00:35:00,000 --> 00:35:08,000 you know but Hogan Cena you know those guys on there the baby faces there on top it does get kind of predictable after a while 289 00:35:08,000 --> 00:35:17,000 yeah it's it's interesting I think a top level title fresher card for WrestleMania is always the way to go 290 00:35:17,000 --> 00:35:27,000 and I think you just have to kind of rotate pieces you know getting Roman Brock for a period of time like you know if it's not Roman the Brock's in that spot was not the ending 291 00:35:27,000 --> 00:35:36,000 in the in the WrestleMania 30s time period of WWE so we'll see where things go here and what the direction of Roman Reigns is 292 00:35:36,000 --> 00:35:44,000 and I just think lastly Dr. Trey I would prefer to see Drew Cody and Fato be the match at WrestleMania personally 293 00:35:44,000 --> 00:35:54,000 I think I love the idea of them doing what they're doing right now and helping that carry itself into April for WrestleMania 42 294 00:35:54,000 --> 00:36:04,000 yeah I mean I'm going to be because you're giving Fato a chance to kind of show that he belongs without having all the pressure of it being a one on one match 295 00:36:04,000 --> 00:36:10,000 you know he's in there were two veteran quarterbacks that can kind of lead him through where he needs to get to 296 00:36:10,000 --> 00:36:18,000 and and Cody and Drew are two of the most giving guys in the business I don't think either of those guys are known as holding guys down 297 00:36:18,000 --> 00:36:28,000 I mean hell Cody was putting everybody over in AEW and Drew you know it is one of those great soldiers where like hey if I lose I'm going to make the guy look great 298 00:36:28,000 --> 00:36:40,000 so I think putting a guy like Jacob who for all intensive purposes has a reputation for being a little wild at times when he was younger coming up in the business 299 00:36:40,000 --> 00:36:46,000 putting him in the ring with those two guys to show that he belongs in that constant main event picture is the right move 300 00:36:46,000 --> 00:36:56,000 and then coming out of it you can always go to Jacob and Oba or split those guys up because now that Smackdown side would be pretty solid with those four guys at the top of the card 301 00:36:56,000 --> 00:37:12,000 there was some big news this past Thursday dr. Dre is TNA premiered on their new network AMC the premier is getting a decent amount of backlash online I tuned in and out of the premier this past Thursday 302 00:37:12,000 --> 00:37:18,000 because I wanted to see AJ Styles and the ring and see what he had to say and also just kind of see the presentation of TNA overall 303 00:37:18,000 --> 00:37:28,000 it was kind of in the background I would tune in a little bit here and there this past Thursday night I don't know if you got a chance to see it but there is a lot of backlash about it 304 00:37:28,000 --> 00:37:42,000 I didn't think it was terrible honestly it really reminded me of when ECW was around in the late 90s early 2000s and you watched their programming and it just wasn't as crisp and float as well as WWE and WCW did at the time 305 00:37:42,000 --> 00:37:56,000 and that's the vibe I got it wasn't as crisp and float well like WWE and AW I don't find TNA as the number two brand in the United States I know that they're trying to make a push for that I know WWE is trying to make a push for that 306 00:37:56,000 --> 00:38:04,000 I think after what I saw just after one episode I think it's going to be a tough road to hoe especially with someone the positivity that's coming out of TNA and AW as of late 307 00:38:04,000 --> 00:38:16,000 and there's been positivity as well but I mean things that stood out to me is it was very clear that they did not have a full house for TNA which I thought was a bad luck for the premiere 308 00:38:16,000 --> 00:38:22,000 the segments were a little bit wonky and like the character delivery was not as smooth 309 00:38:22,000 --> 00:38:32,000 Dr. Trade did you get a chance to watch the premiere and are you in line if so with a little bit of the backlash that's taking place after the debut on AMC 310 00:38:32,000 --> 00:38:52,000 I watched it it's funny you mentioned AW I remember when you and I watched the first AW Dynamite show we were like no it's got promise but like the production was like the camera shots were bad and the angles were bad and some of the production stuff was bad and then it got smoothers and went I kind of felt the same way watching this where I'm like 311 00:38:52,000 --> 00:39:00,000 "Have your camera point to the empty parts of the arena" "Have your camera pointed at the spots where it's filled in" 312 00:39:00,000 --> 00:39:12,000 the character side I guess it kind of depends on if you've been following the show I didn't have an issue with the characters as much because that's kind of who they are like the whole elegance brand is what it is 313 00:39:12,000 --> 00:39:28,000 Jeff the shocking part to me was I didn't know Perez Hilton was still alive I didn't know that was a thing and like they presented him like he was super important I'm like I don't remember him being important since Paris Hilton was important back in like 2007 314 00:39:28,000 --> 00:39:40,000 so I think that's actually when the show first started yeah somewhere around there so not as big of an issue with the in-ring stuff not as big as an issue with the character stuff because that's kind of who they've 315 00:39:40,000 --> 00:39:58,000 they're kind of this weird blend now of WWE characters with AEW wrestling I guess is a way of putting it my bigger issue was production camera angles timing things like that that really made it still like a third or fourth tier brand to me 316 00:39:58,000 --> 00:40:24,000 yeah I mean that's what stood out to me as well I think everybody should always give them a fair shot if you don't you know if you want to check them out and see if you'll add them to your wrestling watching list I probably won't tune in this Thursday simply because it's just so you know over exhausting and professional wrestling the program that's on each every week Monday Tuesday Wednesday then adding Thursday Friday Saturday Sundays the only day that you don't watch professional wrestling 317 00:40:24,000 --> 00:40:42,000 so it's a little bit of an oversaturation the market but yeah I don't think it deserves the backlash it's getting I think anybody who is who is realistic I think if you're a wrestling fan you should be happy with this the TNA is made it to AMC after you know squandering on destination America for 318 00:40:42,000 --> 00:41:02,000 period of time and then access TV like for them to get to a recognizable network is a huge deal and I'm very very happy for them and I hope it's continued success and I hope they continue to grow but I just don't think they're not going on the door of AEW right now I think AW themselves is put some space in between them and TNA I think it was getting close for 319 00:41:02,000 --> 00:41:23,000 time I thought bound for glory this past October was a huge deal and there was a lot of momentum that TNA could ride but I feel like AW is put together such good programming especially over the last six months and present time that that gap has just widened a bit more between them and TNA speaking of AW Dr. Trey and some good programming then has taken place this past Saturday on collision we saw the death 320 00:41:23,000 --> 00:41:36,000 riders and the Don Callis family brawl even though both these stables are considered heels here they are brawling on collision and moxley cut a promo following the brawl saying that basically the war is not over yet 321 00:41:36,000 --> 00:41:47,000 between the both of them they've been dabbling some toes in the water here of getting the death riders to be a little bit more baby face then heels as of late and it looks like that that could be the 322 00:41:47,000 --> 00:42:00,000 direction that they are going could this stable versus stable feud bring more interest into AW it reminds me of lot of WWE going with degeneration X and nation domination in 1998 which is pretty cool at the 323 00:42:00,000 --> 00:42:11,000 period at that period of time is this another scenario Dr. Trey were similar to the world title picture that AW could really capitalize on to get some viewers back to check out their program in each and every week. 324 00:42:11,000 --> 00:42:25,000 I mean it's interesting for me to watch is because you have people in the death riders that are kind of dabbling in the baby face but then you have people like Pock who's just like full fleshed heel and then the calcite kind of same thing you have the 325 00:42:25,000 --> 00:42:36,000 Ocadas and the Kyle Fletcher's who the fans like but then you have just a dastardly heels you know to to Keshda is is kind of becoming a baby face as well so it's interesting like you 326 00:42:36,000 --> 00:42:47,000 might watch a match where it's a baby face death rider against the heel member of the cows family and then the next match it's reversed you know where it's kind of like a baby face member of the cows family against the 327 00:42:47,000 --> 00:42:57,000 heel member of the death rider so I like it because they're going its strength on strength like we have two really great stables and we can have them you know battle out and then you have the 328 00:42:57,000 --> 00:43:06,000 Continental Champion and whatever Ocada the unit well it was a unified title whatever Ocada's titles called the international champion international 329 00:43:06,000 --> 00:43:16,000 family so you have the Continental Champion the international champion you know in this match as well so it's an interesting take on it because you 330 00:43:16,000 --> 00:43:25,000 know you reference nation domination versus DX and DX at the time that was kind of a heel stable when that whole thing kicked off it might be the 331 00:43:25,000 --> 00:43:36,000 star power of Don Callis being so reviled that makes the death writers baby face out of this whole thing so I love stable on stable violence it's always been one of my 332 00:43:36,000 --> 00:43:47,000 favorite things I go back to when we had D.O.A. and Loose per week was in you know that that rivalry was going on so it makes things more interesting when you have those big 333 00:43:47,000 --> 00:43:58,000 fights out because you never know who's going to break out and become a big time star because the hell when DX in the nation was going at rock wasn't the rock he was still kind of 334 00:43:58,000 --> 00:44:08,000 Rocky my a via in those platforms elevated him and triple age into main event status switching gears back to WWE this past Monday Dr. 335 00:44:08,000 --> 00:44:22,000 AJ Styles versus Gunther became official for the Royal Rumble I had predicted on the first show the year that I thought Gunther was going to retire AJ Styles or some foreshadowing of that coming out of Saturday night's main event when Gunther defeated John Cena back in early 336 00:44:22,000 --> 00:44:35,000 December that that could be happening where there would be a feud and that was a possibility but now this match at the Royal Rumble is official with AJ Styles career on the line Gunther could be adding another 337 00:44:35,000 --> 00:44:49,000 Pelt on the wall should he defeat AJ Styles AJ Styles WWE career is over going back to his appearance on TNA they teased him feuding with Frankie Couserian for the TNA 338 00:44:49,000 --> 00:45:03,000 championship there had been reports out there that it was expected that an AJ Styles final year he was going to at least wrestle one match in TNA all that now could be 339 00:45:03,000 --> 00:45:15,000 in jeopardy with this match here unless they're saying that his WWE career is coming to an end I believe his contract wraps up before after WrestleMania Dr. 340 00:45:15,000 --> 00:45:19,000 Trey what do you think of this turn of events for AJ Styles? 341 00:45:19,000 --> 00:45:35,000 I hurt my heart like John Cena just retired last month guys can we not lose AJ a month later I am hoping there's some kind of bait and switch in this where Gunther wins because you don't want you kind of want that 342 00:45:35,000 --> 00:45:45,000 Pelt on the wall for Gunther if this is kind of the plan for 2026 and 2027 for you know the Jericho stuff we talked about some other stuff 343 00:45:45,000 --> 00:45:57,000 I'm just not ready for AJ's career to be done like I love AJ Styles one of the nicest guys in wrestling so I'm hoping this is like you said maybe it's a WWE career is over he can do a little stuff in TNA 344 00:45:57,000 --> 00:46:09,600 but I also want to see AJ have one more match in WrestleMania because arguably they'll Jeff the last 10 years he's been the best wrestler at WrestleMania so I kind of want to see him have one more 345 00:46:09,600 --> 00:46:26,600 maybe a match before he hangs it up so if it's if they're pulling the trigger now I'm a little stunned that they would do this just on the heels of John Cena's retirement a month earlier I'm just hoping that it's not the last I we had a year for 346 00:46:26,600 --> 00:46:39,600 John Cena I don't want to have three weeks for AJ Styles yeah not only that but I think AJ Styles final match beyond US soil like for it to potentially be in Saudi Arabia I think is a disservice to AJ Styles and wrestling fans 347 00:46:39,600 --> 00:46:55,600 Yeah no absolutely I mean I think a lot of wrestling fans especially the ones that watched him over the last 20 years you know there's going to be a lot of people that would want to go see his final match if they knew if his promoters is final match to kind of have this come out of left field and only have a couple weeks to promote it 348 00:46:55,600 --> 00:47:21,600 kind of feels disingenuous to AJ given everything he's done for the wrestling business but you know maybe he just decided like no it's time I'm after watching John Cena's retirement maybe he just decided you know last minute like no it's time I want to go and wrap it up I just as a die as a die hard wrestling fan die hard AJ fans just like man I kind of wanted a little bit a little bit more meat on the bone that I then I feel like we're getting 349 00:47:21,600 --> 00:47:36,600 do you think this is AJ Styles next match in 10 days in Saudi Arabia at the Royal Rumble I don't think it's his last there has to be some kind of way out of this said the Joker to the thief 350 00:47:36,600 --> 00:47:50,600 it's it's it's to have 10 days or 17 days to promote this as his last potential match like I said just feels weird that it kind of came out of nowhere 351 00:47:50,600 --> 00:48:04,600 it might be his last match in WWE he might get a few more months he might get a couple months in TNA but I I'm hoping they find an out clause for this because yeah like I said I'm not ready for this be AJ's last match 352 00:48:04,600 --> 00:48:17,600 if AJ is able to win and it's on his last match what's the sort how does that like what's the opposite said to the eye of this the side of this I just feel like it's it's got there's got a win in his cut careers over what if AJ wins by disqualification 353 00:48:17,600 --> 00:48:31,600 yeah right because it doesn't hurt Gunther and then they can do a rematch at WrestleMania for the career like I'm just trying to think of like ways out of this because I don't know if you can pull the whole well we meant WWE not TNA and now he's going to do three months in TNA 354 00:48:31,600 --> 00:48:55,600 because I still think you want AJ on your WrestleMania show so maybe AJ wins by DQ that way doesn't hurt Gunther and then you can follow up at WrestleMania with a rematch I don't really know that would be that would be my way out to kind of save AJ for a few more months to build up that another career match at WrestleMania and in a law Rick Flair Shawn Michaels that type of scenario 355 00:48:55,600 --> 00:49:11,600 yeah I'd like to see a lot more build up to this quite honestly I'm it just it feels weird it feels like either their shot gunning this angle because AJ is like you know what I'm done I'm not going to resign contracts coming up in April 356 00:49:11,600 --> 00:49:25,600 you know I think you guys should move on or their shot gunning this because I don't know I mean it just it stands more for Gunther not to lose a match like this I think that they're trying to build him up as a career ender 357 00:49:25,600 --> 00:49:52,600 and I just don't know the way out of this I don't know if you know does Chris Jericho interfere does John Cena interfere somehow I mean in all honesty right like what are we is there a storyline or is it just simply AJ Styles taps out I think everybody's going in this thing that AJ Styles is going to lose and that's the end of his career I mean Gunther is going to be doing double duties supposed before me in the rumble as well Dr. Try 358 00:49:52,600 --> 00:50:19,600 that would I mean just the fact that you have John Cena and I know people don't don't I mean but to have you know John Cena you know Johnny Curtis and then AJ Styles like in a matter of four weeks you know like that seems like a lot to me to have having high to me the easy way out is you know AJ does something Gunther's very tap and then Gunther does something himself just qualified and then beast down AJ 359 00:50:19,600 --> 00:50:37,600 to build towards a rematch at Manie or something I don't to me I'm like I it's you like you said like to have this be now promoted as you know potentially AJ's last match only a couple of weeks out just seems like there's shoving it in for some reason 360 00:50:37,600 --> 00:50:49,600 to me if you want to do this like you let AJ somehow win by DQ and then build it up again like because there's like no no no I'm going to end you I'm going to end you and then you kind of chase some out for a little bit. 361 00:50:49,600 --> 00:51:04,600 It will see we'll see where this where this goes it was a very interesting turn of events for the AJ style is going to be you and we'll see if 9 to 10 days AJ Styles career ends at the Royal Rumble at the hands of Gunther in Saudi Arabia. 362 00:51:04,600 --> 00:51:14,600 Dr. Tray last bit of news I want to bring up here on this week's this show Netflix has made an all cash deal offer to Warner Brothers we talked about this couple months ago. 363 00:51:14,600 --> 00:51:28,600 It is now official that that deal will be taking place and the effects of AW are interesting because the Hollywood reporter is reporting reporting wait a minute the Hollywood reporter is reporting the following. 364 00:51:28,600 --> 00:51:45,600 AW programming is expected to stay on TNT slash TBS through 2020 7028 it shows in pay per views may remain on HBO Max for now the long term possibility of AW moving to a Turner sports streaming app for their pay per use is a possibility. 365 00:51:45,600 --> 00:51:58,600 There is a potential non exclusive streaming future because WWE is putting their shows on Netflix HBO Max maybe joining Netflix at some point here. 366 00:51:58,600 --> 00:52:06,600 Warner Brothers it's been revealed that they've a quiet minority ownership stake in AW that's about less than 10% which is no shock because of the treatment. 367 00:52:06,600 --> 00:52:24,600 And then we talked about the years Netflix could integrate Max into their platform which would actually potentially block AW's content on there because WWE reportedly has a non compete clause in their deal with Netflix. 368 00:52:24,600 --> 00:52:44,600 So huge deal for Netflix and Warner Brothers Discovery and the wrestling app stuff that's surrounding this Dr. Trey is quite intriguing because now a partner of WWE may be owning a huge partner of all lead wrestling your thoughts on how this may all affect AEW. 369 00:52:44,600 --> 00:53:02,600 It's wrestling and business are strange bedfellows of time because it's interesting in the sense of like well how do you how does Netflix go to WWE and say hey we're buying out Warner Brothers which owns part of T or part of AEW. 370 00:53:02,600 --> 00:53:17,600 But we're not going to put them on the platform because of our contract with you guys and but then how do you spin that back to the investors and Netflix and WB that you're not going to put out the contents of one of their most successful brands. 371 00:53:17,600 --> 00:53:35,600 It's just a weird situation and especially for something like me and you who grew up on TBS and TNT and watching wrestling and now like those two television stages may lose wrestling again. 372 00:53:35,600 --> 00:54:04,600 It's going to be a story and see how this how this whole shakes out because on their there's talk at one point that they were Netflix was only buying certain parts of the WB family and now it's like are they buying everything because was it A and E was part of it as well like there's all these different like you're losing track of who owns who now and what part goes to which and it's going to be really really interesting to see how this whole thing shakes out because I know AEW has got that contract through 20 years. 373 00:54:04,600 --> 00:54:23,600 And even though somebody else buys them they have their exclusive rights to TBS and TNT and it just means that 2028 is going to be a really really interesting year not just in American politics but also in professional wrestling as to seeing who survives this whole shake out here. 374 00:54:23,600 --> 00:54:50,600 Yeah, I mean this is you obviously don't want to root for AW losing their television partner because it does have as you point out like similarities here to WCW we want them to be on television and we want them to be all right during all this so very interesting times but I was surprised that the Hollywood reporter had shared these details specifically framing it around the wrestling promotions. 375 00:54:50,600 --> 00:55:14,600 Because this deal does affect AW and WWE in a huge sense on how this all will shake out so something to keep an eye on over the coming weeks and months as we get more details on this and get some clarity on this deal between Netflix purchasing Warner Brothers after an all catch acquisition that was I believe approved this past week so there you have a 376 00:55:14,600 --> 00:55:25,600 lot of
