Latest / The Vault: The Epstein Files / Ghislaine Maxwell And Request For Personal Items From Her Accusers
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Fresh off the heels of what could be called, I guess,
- 0:06Speaker 1: sort of, a victory for Team Maxwell. It looks like
- 0:10Speaker 1: they're trying to press things here. And now they're requesting
- 0:14Speaker 1: some items before the trial begins from Annie and Maria Farmer. Now,
- 0:21Speaker 1: Team Maxwell has already made a request along these lines
- 0:25Speaker 1: previously about a diary and some cowboy boots. And the
- 0:30Speaker 1: judge told her basically to get stuffed. But it looks
- 0:34Speaker 1: like Maxwell and her team, they're feeling themselves a little
- 0:37Speaker 1: bit here. And they're going to try and press this.
- 0:41Speaker 1: And they're going to try and attempt to obtain these
- 0:44Speaker 1: items and whatever other else information they feel is pertinent
- 0:49Speaker 1: before the trial phase of this all begins. Now, we'll
- 0:53Speaker 1: have to see what ends up being admissible here, what
- 0:56Speaker 1: the court finds admissible. and what the prosecution plans on
- 1:03Speaker 1: bringing up in court as evidence. So that's all going
- 1:06Speaker 1: to play a role into what is acceptable as something
- 1:11Speaker 1: to be subpoenaed as far as evidence, or something that
- 1:16Speaker 1: doesn't hold any bearing as far as the case goes.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Now this is the initial ask here, right? That's exactly
- 1:23Speaker 1: what this is. Team Maxwell is making their... their wants
- 1:27Speaker 1: known here, casting their line into the sea on their
- 1:32Speaker 1: latest fishing expedition, seeing if they can get Judge Nathan
- 1:36Speaker 1: a bite.
- 1:38Speaker 2: And we'll see, right? We will see what, you.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Know, is admissible, what's not admissible, and what ends up
- 1:45Speaker 1: being what. I don't know if I'm Team Maxwell, though,
- 1:51Speaker 1: if I want any of this shit admissible.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Because....
- 1:57Speaker 1: Pretty damning stuff as far as evidence goes and we
- 2:02Speaker 1: all have heard maria's story you know she's talked to
- 2:06Speaker 1: us here on the podcast she's obviously been on way
- 2:09Speaker 1: bigger platforms you know whitney uh uh over on whitney's
- 2:13Speaker 1: show and then you know a bunch of other shows
- 2:16Speaker 1: right and we've all heard her story and she's she's
- 2:20Speaker 1: been adamant about what has happened so they might be
- 2:25Speaker 1: uh biting off a bit more than they can chew.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Here, right?
- 2:30Speaker 1: Rolling the dice, thinking that they might have the upper
- 2:33Speaker 1: hand or something, but I think they're going to be
- 2:35Speaker 1: sorely mistaken when all is said and done. Team Maxwell
- 2:41Speaker 1: has not had the greatest track record when it's come
- 2:45Speaker 1: to things like this. And what they want to construe
- 2:49Speaker 1: as a W for themselves is really.
- 2:51Speaker 2: A victory for everybody.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Transparency is... one of the most important things you could
- 2:57Speaker 1: possibly have at a trial. So that's why if this
- 3:01Speaker 1: stuff is admissible, then it should be turned over, right?
- 3:05Speaker 1: If the judge and the lawyers deem that this stuff
- 3:07Speaker 1: is admissible, let's turn it over. But I have a
- 3:11Speaker 1: funny feeling it's not going to end up the way
- 3:13Speaker 1: Team Maxwell wants it to.
- 3:18Speaker 2: There's, you know... A lot of evidence here, folks, that.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Certainly points to the direction of big trouble for Team
- 3:27Speaker 1: Lady G come November. But that's what the trials are for, right?
- 3:32Speaker 1: That's why we have a justice system. Well, what's supposed
- 3:36Speaker 1: to be a justice system anyway. But this is where
- 3:39Speaker 1: it's time to put up or shut up. The state
- 3:43Speaker 1: alleges that Ghislaine Maxwell is part of a huge human
- 3:46Speaker 1: trafficking ring with Jeffrey Epstein and they were involved in
- 3:50Speaker 1: abusing a whole group of girls. That's what the government
- 3:54Speaker 1: and the survivors are alleging. And according to Maxwell, it
- 3:57Speaker 1: never happened. One side has produced a shit ton of
- 4:00Speaker 1: evidence and the other side has produced nothing but words.
- 4:03Speaker 1: And we all know words are wind, right? But what
- 4:07Speaker 1: we think, me and you, really means nothing at the
- 4:11Speaker 1: end of the day. We're just the peanut gallery around here,
- 4:15Speaker 1: at least over here on this podcast, right? I'm not
- 4:18Speaker 1: a journalist. I don't run around making pretend I am.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I'm a concerned citizen, somebody who happened to stumble face
- 4:24Speaker 1: first into this case and been morbidly fascinated with it
- 4:29Speaker 1: ever since. And I'm the kind of person that tries
- 4:33Speaker 1: to see things through. So, you know, we're just here.
- 4:37Speaker 1: This is the commentary. This is the way I see
- 4:39Speaker 1: this story going, my opinion, right? And it happens to
- 4:45Speaker 1: resonate with some people. And that's great. But one thing
- 4:48Speaker 1: you're not going to get here. Are any kind of
- 4:51Speaker 1: assertions about. This one's in the Mossad. Or you never hear.
- 4:55Speaker 1: I'm never going to do that nonsense around here. There's
- 4:59Speaker 1: plenty of fantasists. Running around involved in this story. Right.
- 5:05Speaker 1: I'll keep my. I'll keep the pattern going. That we're
- 5:09Speaker 1: used to around these parts. But. I'm just calling them
- 5:15Speaker 1: the way I see them. And the evidence has led
- 5:17Speaker 1: me to exactly where I'm at. Now, again, you could
- 5:21Speaker 1: take every single minute of content we have put out
- 5:26Speaker 1: with a buck fifty down to the corner store and
- 5:28Speaker 1: it doesn't mean shit, right? You can get a cup
- 5:30Speaker 1: of coffee, some candy or something. But besides that, really
- 5:33Speaker 1: doesn't mean nothing. It has no bearing on the trial itself.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Just like Maxwell's spokes mouths, spokespeople and her lawyers, what
- 5:45Speaker 1: they say have no bearing on what's going to happen
- 5:48Speaker 1: in that courtroom. What it is, it's a it's a
- 5:51Speaker 1: battle for public opinion. And that's what happens with high
- 5:54Speaker 1: profile cases. Here's an idea. If you don't want to
- 5:57Speaker 1: end up on page six of the New York Post,
- 6:00Speaker 1: don't be an asshole.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Pretty simple, right?
- 6:02Speaker 1: You don't want to end up the topic of conversation
- 6:05Speaker 1: on podcasts.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Don't be an asshole.
- 6:10Speaker 1: I mean, how difficult is it to just try and
- 6:12Speaker 1: be a decent person today? Now, you know, you really
- 6:16Speaker 1: can't change what you did yesterday or in the past, right? And,
- 6:19Speaker 1: you know, people have a bunch of regrets. People haven't,
- 6:22Speaker 1: you know.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Lived the right way. We all have those feelings.
- 6:25Speaker 1: But a little different with Ghislaine Maxwell here, right? Ten
- 6:28Speaker 1: Hail Marys aren't going to cut it. And asking for
- 6:34Speaker 1: evidence and different items that might have some sort of
- 6:42Speaker 1: bearing on the case, well, that's well within.
- 6:46Speaker 2: The lane of her lawyers, right?
- 6:48Speaker 1: They're trying to do whatever they possibly can to try
- 6:52Speaker 1: and punch holes in the credibility of the people who
- 6:55Speaker 1: are accusing them. That is their job, right? So that's
- 6:59Speaker 1: definitely what they're trying to do here. But again, I
- 7:02Speaker 1: think that this is one of those times where, you know,
- 7:04Speaker 1: the boomerang effect we talk about I think that that
- 7:08Speaker 1: boomerang might come back around and crack them right.
- 7:11Speaker 2: In the dome.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Because guess what? The truth is the truth. And that's
- 7:17Speaker 1: just the end of it, right? You can try and
- 7:19Speaker 1: manipulate it whichever way you want. But when the evidence
- 7:23Speaker 1: comes to bear, and all is said and done, it's
- 7:28Speaker 1: going to take more than an ask about a pair
- 7:30Speaker 1: of cowboy.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Boots, folks, to sway a jury.
- 7:36Speaker 1: So... Let's jump into this article real quick from Radar Online.
- 7:42Speaker 1: And let's see just exactly what in the hell is
- 7:46Speaker 1: going on with this ask.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Headline.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Ghislaine Maxwell demanding Jeffrey Epstein accusers.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Accusers? What do you mean?
- 7:55Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein paid out, right? Anyone of those women who
- 7:59Speaker 1: were paid out from the fund? It's no longer an
- 8:02Speaker 1: accuser situation. I can't believe I have to still explain this.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Is this real life?
- 8:06Speaker 2: Not an accuser situation anymore.
- 8:09Speaker 1: If you got doled out some shekels from the estate,
- 8:14Speaker 1: they admitted that Jeffrey Epstein did that to you. So
- 8:18Speaker 1: it's no longer alleged, okay? Now, again, when you're talking
- 8:22Speaker 1: about Maxwell, on the other hand, she has not been
- 8:25Speaker 1: convicted in a court of law. So while we all
- 8:28Speaker 1: might think she's, you know, a condemnable person and somebody
- 8:32Speaker 1: who is, you know, will save all of the opinions
- 8:37Speaker 1: about her for a later date, but she still is
- 8:40Speaker 1: entitled to her day in.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Court, right? But with Epstein, fuck that. His estate paid out.
- 8:46Speaker 1: All those hundreds of the $ 125 million, they took responsibility
- 8:52Speaker 1: for those.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Actions of Epstein.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Epstein was culpable for those actions, so the estate paid out.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Pretty simple.
- 8:58Speaker 1: So there's no longer an alleged accuser situation with Epstein.
- 9:03Speaker 1: That will conclude my TED Talk, journalists. This article was
- 9:09Speaker 1: authored by Whitney Vasquez. Ghislaine Maxwell wants to get her
- 9:15Speaker 1: hands on diaries belonging to two of Jeffrey Epstein's accusers. No,
- 9:19Speaker 1: two of the people who were abused by Jeffrey Epstein.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Fact. It's not debatable at this point. Fact.
- 9:30Speaker 1: According to court documents obtained by Radar, court documents that
- 9:34Speaker 1: are filed and available for anybody to read, by the way,
- 9:37Speaker 1: out there, The late businessman.
- 9:39Speaker 2: The late businessman. Get a load of this article. You
- 9:42Speaker 2: mean the pedophile?
- 9:44Speaker 1: You mean the abuser? You mean the human trafficker? The
- 9:47Speaker 1: late businessman.
- 9:48Speaker 2: What a hoot. And alleged madam. You mean alleged co-conspirator?
- 9:53Speaker 1: Fellow child abuser? General all around scuzzbay and bipedal serpent?
- 9:57Speaker 2: Is that what you mean?
- 9:59Speaker 1: Oh. okay. Is asking for permission to use a subpoena
- 10:03Speaker 1: demanding access to several of Maria Farmer's personal items, including
- 10:08Speaker 1: the pages of her private journal. But Maxwell also wants
- 10:13Speaker 1: a peek inside the pages of Maria's sister Annie Farmer's journal, too.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Of course she does.
- 10:19Speaker 1: And look, If I was Maxwell's legal team, I'd be
- 10:24Speaker 1: pining to get this shit as well. But you better
- 10:26Speaker 1: be careful what you wish for. You better be careful.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Because once stuff's admitted into the court, into the records here,
- 10:37Speaker 1: there's no going back. So what they're really trying to
- 10:41Speaker 1: do is get their hands on it beforehand to go
- 10:44Speaker 1: through it and make sure there's not going to be
- 10:45Speaker 1: any surprises. That's really what they're angling for here.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Or.
- 10:50Speaker 1: To look for ways to punch holes in the credibility
- 10:55Speaker 1: of either Maria or Annie, right? That's their endgame. That's
- 11:00Speaker 1: their goal here. Maria claimed she was an aspiring artist
- 11:05Speaker 1: when she met Epstein, who allegedly promised to help her career.
- 11:09Speaker 1: She alleges her life turned upside down when Epstein and
- 11:12Speaker 1: Maxwell began allegedly violently groping her. There's a whole lot
- 11:17Speaker 1: of allegedly's in here. I mean, I'm not trying to
- 11:20Speaker 1: be mean or anything about this article, but this is
- 11:23Speaker 1: pretty remedial, yeah?
- 11:25Speaker 2: Like, allegedly this, allegedly that.
- 11:28Speaker 1: It sounds like it's being put together by somebody who's
- 11:31Speaker 1: not really hip to the case. Maybe somebody who just
- 11:34Speaker 1: got some notes and was told, here, pen this real quick.
- 11:37Speaker 1: because I don't think you should be using allegedly with
- 11:40Speaker 1: Epstein anymore, right? Kind of a bit silly at this point.
- 11:45Speaker 1: She later found out that her 16-year-old sister had allegedly
- 11:49Speaker 1: fallen victim to Epstein. And he claimed the now-dead mogul
- 11:54Speaker 1: sexually assaulted her at his New Mexico ranch. Again, there's
- 12:00Speaker 1: no more alleged with Jeffrey Epstein. It's kind of redundant
- 12:04Speaker 1: at this point that I have to keep saying it,
- 12:05Speaker 1: but here we are. This dude did all of this, right?
- 12:12Speaker 1: If he didn't, don't you think his estate and all
- 12:14Speaker 1: of those greedy sons of bitches who are in charge
- 12:17Speaker 1: of it would have fought tooth and nail not to
- 12:19Speaker 1: pay out one single dollar? They had the money to litigate.
- 12:23Speaker 1: They didn't because they knew they were fucked. 100%. No
- 12:31Speaker 1: kind of ground to stand upon.
- 12:34Speaker 2: And they knew that.
- 12:35Speaker 1: So that's why the estate paid out the way they did.
- 12:40Speaker 1: And with Maxwell, look, she's fighting tooth and nail for
- 12:43Speaker 1: literally her life. So, again, you could expect her lawyers
- 12:49Speaker 1: to have all kinds of asks like this. And this
- 12:53Speaker 1: is just building on a previous request that they've made, remember.
- 12:57Speaker 1: So I'll go back through the catalog and we'll do
- 12:59Speaker 1: an In Case You Missed It episode and I'll try
- 13:02Speaker 1: and dig that one out so we can take a
- 13:04Speaker 1: listen to the original ask for the diary and the
- 13:07Speaker 1: cowboy boots and Judge Nathan's pretty much usual response at
- 13:13Speaker 1: this point of no the sisters were among those alleged
- 13:21Speaker 1: victims alleged victims again who first spoke out about the
- 13:25Speaker 1: disturbing allegations against the accused predatory duo wow accused predatory
- 13:31Speaker 1: duo okay Maria even claims she contacted the New York
- 13:35Speaker 1: Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation with accusations
- 13:39Speaker 1: about Maxwell and Epstein, but her efforts went nowhere.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Well, that's true.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Maria has been very adamant about that. She's talked about
- 13:47Speaker 1: it on Whitney Webb's program at length. She is very
- 13:54Speaker 1: adamant about what occurred. And she's been very clear that
- 14:01Speaker 1: she contacted the FBI, that she contacted the NYPD. And
- 14:06Speaker 1: they were the ones who told her to contact the FBI.
- 14:09Speaker 1: You know, the whole runaround that you always get. Now,
- 14:15Speaker 1: Maxwell wants an investigation team to examine the so-called evidence
- 14:20Speaker 1: that Maria and Annie have been holding on to all
- 14:22Speaker 1: these years later while preparing for her sex trafficking trial.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Seems like kind of an adversarial... peace here, folks, huh?
- 14:31Speaker 1: All right, well, the so-called evidence that Maria and Annie
- 14:35Speaker 1: have been holding on to all these years later, huh? Yeah,
- 14:38Speaker 1: all right, well, we'll see about the so-called evidence. Look,
- 14:41Speaker 1: let's be very clear. The time to talk is almost over.
- 14:47Speaker 1: November 29th is creeping up pretty quick, and we're going
- 14:51Speaker 1: to see what's what pretty soon. But until we get there,
- 14:56Speaker 1: Can we at the very least agree that calling Jeffrey
- 14:59Speaker 1: Epstein an alleged trafficker at this point is taking it
- 15:02Speaker 1: a bit far? We all know what dude is. We
- 15:06Speaker 1: all know what dude was. In the documents, Epstein's one-time
- 15:12Speaker 1: business associate points out a specific meeting that took place
- 15:15Speaker 1: between Maria and attorneys Brad Edwards and Stanley Pottinger in
- 15:20Speaker 1: or about June of 2016. Brad Edwards describes in his
- 15:25Speaker 1: self-published memoir, Relentless Pursuit, that Maria Farmer, during that meeting,
- 15:31Speaker 1: showed him substantial physical evidence corroborating her claims against Jeffrey
- 15:36Speaker 1: Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, including photographs, diaries, telephone books, Rolodexes,
- 15:43Speaker 1: and mementos collected from her time with Epstein and Maxwell,
- 15:48Speaker 1: the documents state.
- 15:49Speaker 2: And again, look.
- 15:51Speaker 1: You really think Brad Edwards is just going to lie
- 15:53Speaker 1: about that in his book? Just be like, ah, yeah,
- 15:55Speaker 1: we'll add this for a little flair. Let's add this
- 15:58Speaker 1: for a little flavor. Of course not. He obviously sat
- 16:03Speaker 1: down with Maria and seen all of this stuff that
- 16:06Speaker 1: he said he has seen. I believe Brad Edwards 100%
- 16:09Speaker 1: and I certainly believe Maria as well. So again, okay,
- 16:15Speaker 1: whatever evidence that the judge and the prosecution deem necessary
- 16:20Speaker 1: to go to the defense during discovery here, then fine,
- 16:25Speaker 1: whatever that is, it is. But again, I think that
- 16:29Speaker 1: they're barking up the wrong tree here. Honestly, I really
- 16:33Speaker 1: think that this is a bit of a mistake by
- 16:36Speaker 1: Team Maxwell in the throat. Maxwell wants to examine these
- 16:41Speaker 1: items of physical evidence in advance of trial so that
- 16:44Speaker 1: our experts and investigation team may rebut any such evidence
- 16:48Speaker 1: and effectively confront this accuser. Look, if it's going to
- 16:52Speaker 1: be submitted by the prosecution, then I think that it's
- 16:57Speaker 1: only fair that Maxwell's team gets a look at it.
- 17:00Speaker 1: You folks know how I feel about the court system.
- 17:03Speaker 1: I want this fucking court system to run.
- 17:05Speaker 2: The right way. Fair for everybody.
- 17:08Speaker 1: I know, pipe dream, and I'm not naive thinking it's
- 17:11Speaker 1: happening or it's going to happen, but that's my wish.
- 17:14Speaker 1: That's my want. And I will continue to fight for
- 17:18Speaker 1: that as long as I'm alive. I'm a huge, huge
- 17:21Speaker 1: proponent In criminal justice reform. Not in the nonsensical virtue
- 17:27Speaker 1: signaling BS you see that these people get involved in.
- 17:30Speaker 1: But true reform. Hard conversations being had. Everybody comes to
- 17:35Speaker 1: the table and has a conversation about it. But what
- 17:39Speaker 1: Maxwell's up to is, you know, her usual stuff, right?
- 17:43Speaker 1: She's well within the boundaries. And I think that if
- 17:47Speaker 1: they're going to admit it, meaning the prosecution, then they
- 17:50Speaker 1: should pony it up. According to the documents, the ex-socialite, oh,
- 17:57Speaker 1: now you can use alleged here. Another lesson here at
- 18:01Speaker 1: this writer's workshop over there at Radar Online. The ex-socialite,
- 18:05Speaker 1: here's where you can use alleged. Alleged co-conspirator of Jeffrey
- 18:09Speaker 1: Epstein's is also calling for the production of particular physical
- 18:13Speaker 1: items that belong to Annie Farmer. Specifically, a journal, black boots,
- 18:19Speaker 1: and certain photographs. Now, we know that that was part
- 18:22Speaker 1: of the ask originally. That was part of the original
- 18:25Speaker 1: want by Maxwell's team. The boots, the journal, and now
- 18:32Speaker 1: it looks like the add-ons here are some of the
- 18:34Speaker 1: items that they might be requesting from Maria if that's
- 18:40Speaker 1: going to be used as evidence moving forward.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Very confusing stuff, right?
- 18:44Speaker 1: Again, look, I'm not a lawyer. I'm trying to keep
- 18:46Speaker 1: everything in order like you folks, too. It's just such
- 18:51Speaker 1: a windy road we've been on, right? Each of the
- 18:56Speaker 1: items specified in the Annie and Maria Farmer proposed subpoena
- 19:00Speaker 1: is relevant, specific, and admissible, Maxwell argues. These two alleged
- 19:04Speaker 1: victims have publicly identified the materials and publicly proclaimed they
- 19:09Speaker 1: corroborate and support their allegations. Yeah, that's usually what people
- 19:15Speaker 1: do who are holding the truth. They're willing to come
- 19:20Speaker 1: forward and tell their story. And that's what Maria and
- 19:23Speaker 1: Annie have done. Maria since the mid-fucking 90s. So, you know,
- 19:31Speaker 1: sometimes when you're at the poker table, you think you
- 19:33Speaker 1: got a great hand. When in reality, the person sitting
- 19:37Speaker 1: across from you is about to smash you. Maxwell is
- 19:46Speaker 1: demanding the items be investigating, noting that if the diaries
- 19:49Speaker 1: turn out to have been altered or do not exist,
- 19:52Speaker 1: then the absence of this evidence is also relevant and
- 19:56Speaker 1: admissible at trial. Well, look, let's be real. If someone
- 20:00Speaker 1: has a diary from 2000 and it's gone, all of
- 20:03Speaker 1: a sudden.
- 20:05Speaker 2: That's a big issue.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Not like somebody destroyed a computer the night before they
- 20:09Speaker 1: were going to a trial. I don't know about you,
- 20:12Speaker 1: but I don't have very many documents from 2000, 2001, 2002, 1995.
- 20:16Speaker 1: I don't have very many documents laying around. In fact,
- 20:22Speaker 1: I don't know if I have any. Main stuff, birth certificate,
- 20:25Speaker 1: social security card, shit like that.
- 20:29Speaker 2: But a journal? Nah, nope, don't have that.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Ghislaine has been locked up at a Brooklyn detention center
- 20:38Speaker 1: since July 2020. Her sex trafficking trial is set to
- 20:42Speaker 1: begin in November. All right, folks, well, that's the latest.
- 20:46Speaker 1: That's where we're at. That's the new ask from Team Maxwell.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Now the ball bounces back to the court of the prosecutors,
- 20:54Speaker 1: and we'll see what they have to say about all
- 20:56Speaker 1: of this. And obviously, we'll see what Judge Nathan has
- 20:59Speaker 1: to say.
- 21:03Speaker 2: But one thing is... very, very clear. We're very close
- 21:10Speaker 2: to this trial.
- 21:14Speaker 1: And soon, that jury room and that courtroom door is
- 21:20Speaker 1: going to close. And all of the technicalities and all
- 21:26Speaker 1: of the loopholes in the world and all of the
- 21:29Speaker 1: character assassination that you could possibly pay for Is not
- 21:35Speaker 1: going to do you any good. Because from where I'm sitting.
- 21:41Speaker 1: And obviously just my opinion. Maxwell and her team. Are
- 21:48Speaker 1: in big big trouble. They're asking for. This evidence and
- 21:55Speaker 1: you know again. This is all this is how this
- 21:57Speaker 1: works right. You have this phase where the defense, they're
- 22:02Speaker 1: going to want everything that they possibly can collect to
- 22:07Speaker 1: try and piece together this defense of their client. And
- 22:09Speaker 1: anything that they can use to try and destroy credibility,
- 22:14Speaker 1: that's the number one weapon used by a defense attorney.
- 22:18Speaker 2: And it's fair game.
- 22:21Speaker 1: That's how it goes, right? And you see how these
- 22:25Speaker 1: cross-examinations go in these courtrooms. You see how brutal they
- 22:28Speaker 1: can be.
- 22:31Speaker 2: But with that said.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Team Maxwell can ask for all the items in the world.
- 22:37Speaker 1: They can examine whatever they want. Because when all is
- 22:43Speaker 1: said and done, all that's going to matter is the truth.
