  Speaker 2: you this morning. Man started off real crazy. But it's

  Speaker 2: just those little mishaps where we as people who are

  Speaker 2: striving to be successful, that makes all the difference in

  Speaker 2: the world. When you have those little minor things that

  Speaker 2: come up, you can't let the minor things stop you.

  Speaker 2: You've got to keep pressing forward.

  Speaker 2: Could I have played the role of where is my car?

  Speaker 2: Where is my car? Instead of hustling and grab a cab?

  Speaker 2: So what am I? Am I above a cab ride now?

  Speaker 2: Or do I have to look at the bigger picture

  Speaker 2: and say, okay, I could act like a little spoil

  Speaker 2: brat some type of star and go I don't ride

  Speaker 2: in cabs or where's my car? And then go to

  Speaker 2: blaming people for not having a car. Or do I

  Speaker 2: make the adjustments because ain't like I ain't been in

  Speaker 2: a cab before?

  Speaker 1: Now? Slow down?

  Speaker 2: Ain't like I ain't never been in a in a

  Speaker 2: beat up car before? Slow down? Ain't ever, like I

  Speaker 2: ain't never had a car and rode a bus before.

  Speaker 2: Slow down, Ain't like I ain't never been homeless before,

  Speaker 2: and they have nowhere to go. Slow down. So in

  Speaker 2: those moments right there, always remember where you come from,

  Speaker 2: but even more importantly, always remember where you trying to go,

  Speaker 2: because it's important for me that I get here as

  Speaker 2: many mornings as I possibly can. It's important because that's

  Speaker 2: the goal. And so many people allow a minor things

  Speaker 2: to stop them on their road to success. And I'm

  Speaker 2: giving you this example today not to say, hey, look

  Speaker 2: at me, but to say to you, hey, listen to me.

  Speaker 2: There are going to be a lot of things that's

  Speaker 2: going to happen along your way to being successful. And

  Speaker 2: if you a lot of small things to stop you,

  Speaker 2: there's no way you'll make it. You've got to always

  Speaker 2: press forward and stop looking at the situation for what

  Speaker 2: it is, and look, sometimes you have to take your

  Speaker 2: You know, God has blessed me in so many ways.

  Speaker 1: In the morning. I've heard it from people.

  Speaker 2: So from the hundreds that I've heard it for, that

  Speaker 2: could represent thousands for all I know. So if I

  Speaker 2: get there and give something. So today I didn't have

  Speaker 2: any time at all to think about what I might say.

  Speaker 2: I just walk right in and the jingle was playing,

  Speaker 2: and so I decided to just tell you about my

  Speaker 2: day and maybe you can relate it to something you

  Speaker 2: going through along the way, because no matter who you are,

  Speaker 2: you're going to have some moments, man, where things are

  Speaker 2: going to happen. And like I always tell my kids,

  Speaker 2: and I just had this conversation with my little girl,

  Speaker 2: it ain't that things ain't gonna happen. It's how you

  Speaker 2: handle what happens that matters. But it don't matter. It's

  Speaker 2: how you handle what happens that's the determining factor on
• 3:17
  Speaker 2: where you get in life and how soon you get
• 3:19
  Speaker 2: there and how long you stay there. That will always
• 3:23
  Speaker 2: be a mishap, something that's gonna throw you off. There

  Speaker 2: will always be something man that could deter you. That
• 3:31
  Speaker 2: will be something somewhere man that will make you doubt it.

  Speaker 2: Now that you know that's gonna happen, then let's talk

  Speaker 2: about how you handle what happens, because it's going to happen.

  Speaker 2: So now, what do you do as a person when

  Speaker 2: these moments come about in your life? How do you handle?

  Speaker 1: Oh? Woe is me?

  Speaker 1: I guess it wasn't meant to be. Well. If the

  Speaker 1: Lord wanted me to have this, I'd have that.

  Speaker 2: How many damn many times you hear people say that,

  Speaker 2: You know, man, it really irks me. Man, stop using

  Speaker 2: God as your excuse. God ain't no excuse. God is

  Speaker 2: a reason. He's a reason why the good happens. He's

  Speaker 2: a reason. He's not an excuse. God don't have no excuses,

  Speaker 2: and none of his scriptures or writings not that I
• 4:20
  Speaker 2: he just don't make excuses. I would have done this.

  Speaker 2: But you know there's a scripture that says the poor
• 4:27
  Speaker 2: will all shall always be amongst us.

  Speaker 1: Why that's got to be you.

  Speaker 2: Yeah, he said the poor will always be amongst us,

  Speaker 2: Because you know everybody ain't gonna follow the principles of success.

  Speaker 2: But he also said he came to give you life

  Speaker 2: and give it to you more abundantly. He said that too,

  Speaker 2: But oh no, you don't want to hear that because

  Speaker 2: your life kind of trip it out a little bit.

  Speaker 1: So now what you do with it?

  Speaker 2: Now you twist it and you go to that one

  Speaker 2: little scripture that say, well, the poor shall always be
• 4:54
  Speaker 2: amongst us. Well, that's put in there because that suggests
• 4:59
  Speaker 2: in case, see that's a just in case y'all don't
• 5:02
  Speaker 2: want to follow the scriptures. That's just in case you
• 5:05
  Speaker 2: don't understand that faith without works is dead.

  Speaker 1: That's just in case you have not because you ask.

  Speaker 2: Now, it's just in case you don't believe, and shall

  Speaker 2: not doubt he got all that in that. But in

  Speaker 2: case you don't want to do that, there is a

  Speaker 2: scripture that tells you what will happen if you don't

  Speaker 2: do it, And here it is the poor shall always

  Speaker 2: be amongst us. But then you get that when they say, well,

  Speaker 2: that's I guess that's the Lord's will. Lord's will, really, really,

  Speaker 2: really really that's amazing.

  Speaker 1: I just don't believe that about him. I don't believe
• 5:39
  Speaker 1: that God created your life. To be a life of misery.

  Speaker 1: I think that we make decisions along the way that
• 5:47
  Speaker 1: cause us to have lives of misery. But I really

  Speaker 1: really just don't believe that God created you for that.

  Speaker 1: I've heard Nelson Mandela speak, and you know you gotta go.

  Speaker 1: While all those years in prison, man, what was it about.
• 6:05
  Speaker 1: When you hear him speak, you understand what it was about.
• 6:09
  Speaker 2: He said, he always knew he would be free one day.
• 6:13
  Speaker 2: Now what he said he never knew was he said,
• 6:16
  Speaker 2: he never knew that he would be the president of
• 6:19
  Speaker 2: that country. Oh my goodness, what a long way around.

  Speaker 2: But he could have set there and got involved in
• 6:28
  Speaker 2: prison activities that wasn't up to Paw and things like that.

  Speaker 2: And they said whenever young inmates used to come in.
• 6:35
  Speaker 2: He was telling the story one time of how young
• 6:37
  Speaker 2: inmates used to come into the prison. They all sit
• 6:40
  Speaker 2: around and talk to him about what they were doing
• 6:42
  Speaker 2: and how many kids they had in their lives, and
• 6:44
  Speaker 2: it helped them keep track of it outside a little bit,
• 6:47
  Speaker 2: and it kept a sense of time for them, and
• 6:50
  Speaker 2: it reminded men to talk about what they left behind,
• 6:52
  Speaker 2: and it kept them going because something was greater on
• 6:57
  Speaker 2: the other side. Had he allowed that to start. Had
• 7:01
  Speaker 2: he allowed the imprisonment, which is a pretty major deal. Oh,
• 7:04
  Speaker 2: by the way, then guess what he would have never
• 7:07
  Speaker 2: been the Nelson Mandela that we know today, a martyr,
• 7:10
  Speaker 2: a leader, a great force. People want to go around him.
• 7:14
  Speaker 2: Even people that imprisoned him could not understand his staunch strength,
• 7:19
  Speaker 2: his faith, his unwavering commitment. They couldn't understand it. So
• 7:24
  Speaker 2: things are going to happen in your life, but it's
• 7:26
  Speaker 2: how you handle what happens doesn't matter.

  Speaker 1: So keep pushing, y'all.

  Speaker 2: Don't let the little things get in the way, Okay,

  Speaker 2: And if you just sometimes you just don't know. I

  Speaker 2: got in a cab thinking I wasn't gonna make it,

  Speaker 2: but at least let's go see, let's try.

  Speaker 2: about where my car, but I got up in here
