- 0:00Today we're joined by Mr. Adam Van from Alpine Gold Exchange.
- 0:05We've got an exciting announcement about the new gold
- 0:08back from South. Dakota, we're going to walk
- 0:10through that, but we're also going to talk about precious
- 0:13metals in general and even some interesting developments
- 0:17happening right now in the silver market.
- 0:19Adam, welcome to Ron's basement. Thank you, Ron.
- 0:23Thank you for having me again. I really appreciate it and I
- 0:25like being on your show. Lots of fun stuff.
- 0:28So you received a package. From us, I hope I did one of my.
- 0:33Favorite packages of all time, I have to say.
- 0:36That's fantastic. I'm glad you enjoyed.
- 0:38So, yeah, so we've. Got a brand new goal back that's
- 0:40being released, a new state that's coming out and that's.
- 0:43The South Dakota goal back. It's being released on September
- 0:4819th. You can preorder them right now
- 0:50at goback.com. Or at at go back.
- 0:53Dot com but it also takes you to alpinegold.com, that's where you
- 0:56purchased them from is alpinegold.com and you can do
- 0:59preorders and then we will ship them out by.
- 1:01Well, we're already at the 18th. It happened pretty quick, but
- 1:05they're being released tomorrow and.
- 1:07You get to be the very first to review.
- 1:08Them on your show. So what do you think about them?
- 1:11Have you had a chance to look or you opening them up now?
- 1:14I I just opened them up and it it it, I'm just taken.
- 1:19Back by their, by their beauty, you were, you know, very
- 1:23generous to send me one of. Each of these gold backs and
- 1:26they all, they're unique and I just, I I can't say thank you
- 1:32enough because they not only are they beautiful, but you know
- 1:37there's another important component to them.
- 1:39They they have real gold in them.
- 1:42They are a store of value. I'll start here by just showing
- 1:45the I'll start with the one gold back and you sent me A1A1A5A10,
- 1:51a 25 and a fifty there we. Do and I'll explain that one
- 1:55just a little bit. This is the Goddess of.
- 1:57Pax and she represents peace and the pursuit of peace is what she
- 2:04represents and. It looks like that the.
- 2:08The dancer there in the middle is a Lakota tribe member that's
- 2:11doing the circle of life dance. And of course you can see the
- 2:14bison and the mountains in the background.
- 2:17And on the bottom corner you'll see the.
- 2:20That's the state flower. And.
- 2:22I'll try to say this. It's the American pass.
- 2:25Flower, which is a purple flower that usually.
- 2:28Blooms before the snow melts. So that's why it's the.
- 2:31State flower, yeah. And then here we have the number
- 2:345. This is the the five gold back.
- 2:38And this is Industria. This is the Goddess of Industria
- 2:44and she represents hard work and perseverance, creativity, many
- 2:49of the. Of the.
- 2:50Southwestern thing or the Midwestern rather, you guys are
- 2:53in the Midwest, right? And South Dakota is in the
- 2:56Midwest. So she.
- 2:57Represents a lot of the Midwestern values of hard work
- 3:01and perseverance and then the number ten goal back.
- 3:05Which is the Goddess of. And she represents harmony with
- 3:11life's challenges, because there's plenty of challenges in
- 3:15life and and. She's the goddess of.
- 3:18Balance is kind of what that stands for and represents I'm
- 3:23trying to think of. These, these are just absolutely
- 3:27stunning and and and there's something about, you know, I'll
- 3:34repeat it because I can't say it enough, they're beautiful and on
- 3:38top of that they are metal. They're they're real money.
- 3:42It just, you know in the in the higher the denomination, they're
- 3:48all robust and feeling but. I wish that the viewer could
- 3:52feel this in their hand. Is 25 and we'll get to the 50
- 3:55next. But it it it it feels like I
- 3:59have and I not just. Feels like but I have real money
- 4:02in my hand and beautiful money. Absolutely, and you'll notice.
- 4:07You can compare that's. The Goddess of of Laura.
- 4:12I think I got a note here. Lorea is what that is the.
- 4:17Goddess of Lorea and she's the symbol of victory and knowledge.
- 4:21Is what she symbolizes. I mean, I'm impressed by your
- 4:25your knowledge. Of all these goddesses.
- 4:27So there's a guy, obviously a goddess theme on the South, New
- 4:31South. Dakota Goldbacks is that.
- 4:32That's right, I think. All the Goldbacks have
- 4:35goddesses. On them.
- 4:37And then the one that we that is constantly being represented is
- 4:41the 50 and all of the 50s have the same goddess and that.
- 4:46Is the Goddess of Libertas, because that's what it's all
- 4:51about. Is liberty and freedom and so.
- 4:54The goddess of Libertas. Is on all the 50s and I think
- 4:58liberty being the most valuable. Asset that we have.
- 5:04In America, I think it's fitting that it's on the most.
- 5:07Valuable gold back. And so now you'll notice with
- 5:12the 50 and the one, if you hold them both at the same time, you
- 5:15can really. Tell that you're getting.
- 5:18Quite a bit more gold from one to the other.
- 5:22See if I can hold these up at the same time.
- 5:23Absolutely. It's bigger than just it's
- 5:28bigger and it's the one is definitely robust and if you
- 5:31know it, it you can feel you know.
- 5:33It's, it's a solid piece for sure.
- 5:37But yes, the 50 absolutely feels heavier because it is, right.
- 5:43I mean it's got the. Is it?
- 5:45Does it have 50 times? It does.
- 5:47It has 50. Times more gold in it and the
- 5:50way. We'd like to trade.
- 5:52These is that you can trade. Of fifty of these.
- 5:56For one of these, what do they call that?
- 5:58An asthmatic or something like that?
- 6:01Where it's numismatic. Numismatic where you can change
- 6:04them out, right? Yeah, you can.
- 6:07You can change them out. So this one.
- 6:09Is worth about $4. And this one's worth about
- 6:12$200.00 and then we try to. Keep it so that the the the.
- 6:17Individual value per gold. Back You have 50 gold backs
- 6:20here, so you have. 50 individual.
- 6:23Values inside that, that's how we try to promote them and have
- 6:29them be distributed and spent. So these will be official legal
- 6:36tender in South Dakota, or can be.
- 6:38Used officially as legal tender in South Dakota.
- 6:40Is that a safe assessment? They are a legal they're.
- 6:45Specie legal tender instrument. And so if you.
- 6:48Follow the UCC, which is. Amazing reading.
- 6:51If you ever want to really dive into something fun to read, you
- 6:54can read. The UCC.
- 6:55And the UCC is. What is what?
- 6:58The uniform commercial. Code is what that is.
- 7:01And that is where legal tender and specie legal tender is noted
- 7:06in there and. That's what this is.
- 7:09Is a specie legal tender, specie being gold.
- 7:13And then the legal tender is. Also gold, which is
- 7:16constitutionally. So we can definitely use it for
- 7:18barter and trade and spending and currency and and all the
- 7:23like. Interesting.
- 7:25You know, I had a conversation with the CEO of Gold back not
- 7:31too long ago and he talked. About how there's there seems to
- 7:35be just a growing level of interest in this product from
- 7:39your side. You're in New Hampshire.
- 7:42If I have that correct, are you seeing the same thing that
- 7:44there's just increasing interest in the gold back product?
- 7:48Definitely. In New Hampshire, we're getting
- 7:50a. Lot of a lot.
- 7:51Of interest in it. People like to.
- 7:54Trade and barter here anyway, we've got a lot of farmers
- 7:56markets, we've got a lot of homesteaders, so we have a
- 7:58homesteader law here and you can actually homestead.
- 8:02From your home baked. Goods, Food, products, packaged
- 8:06products. Things that people sell at craft
- 8:08fairs and farmers markets and things like that.
- 8:12Is perfectly legal. To to do inside your home and
- 8:15you know that. You still have.
- 8:16There's still rules. That you have to follow, but
- 8:19it's not like. You have to have a big
- 8:20manufacturing plant, so when you're trading with people on A.
- 8:24Local level like that. Then you wind up having a lot of
- 8:28barter and a lot of trade involved anyway, So the person
- 8:31who provides pork chops is also providing, you know, maybe
- 8:35trading with the person that does.
- 8:36Eggs or the? Person that's bringing you
- 8:38vegetables and the person that's bringing you fish.
- 8:40Because we have a. Fish market.
- 8:41Here too we have 13 miles of of coast and we have fishermen
- 8:45that. Go out every day.
- 8:47And bring back fish every day and they trade them down at the
- 8:51fish market and so the gold back.
- 8:54Really, gold and silver and and metals really come in handy when
- 9:00when you need to trade value and you need to trade something of
- 9:06real value. To hold while you're, you're,
- 9:09you're. Waiting on a product that you do
- 9:12need. So maybe you don't.
- 9:13Maybe you've got plenty of. Eggs that day, so.
- 9:15You can't trade fish for eggs, but you can definitely.
- 9:18Trade with, with. Gold and silver.
- 9:20And a lot of people do do that in New Hampshire.
- 9:22A lot of people are. Trading gold and silver.
- 9:25We have silver mint. I guess they're not a mint.
- 9:28There was a smelter. What do you call us?
- 9:30A person who makes their own refinery.
- 9:33Yeah, we. Have refineries and.
- 9:36They they make their own silver pieces and things like.
- 9:40That to trade. If you're looking to buy gold,
- 9:42silver, or platinum, do yourself a favor and check out Pin Becks,
- 9:47the online precious metals bullion dealer and sponsor of
- 9:51Ron's Basement. I was a happy customer before
- 9:54they offered to support the channel.
- 9:56You'll find they have the best prices, quality, and service.
- 10:01I think Pin Becks is best, and you will too.
- 10:04And be sure to tell him that you're from Ron's basement.
- 10:07It's interesting what you just. Brought up a good friend of mine
- 10:10and fellow YouTube content creator Bald Guy Money.
- 10:14I was having a conversation with him a few.
- 10:16Weeks ago we were doing a an interview together and he he he
- 10:21was referring to. But this also applies equally to
- 10:25gold and I think. Especially applies to the gold
- 10:29backs that that you can think of these as batteries and not from
- 10:35the, not from the. Perspective that they store or
- 10:38electricity, battery, but that they store work.
- 10:42They store value. And like you said, you can, you
- 10:45can, you can store, you know your value in that until you
- 10:49need to harvest it, until you need eggs, or until you need to
- 10:52do whatever you need to do with it in the interim.
- 10:55But it's a much more robust and reliable store of value, in my
- 11:01opinion anyway, than let's say, paper money, $100 bill versus a
- 11:08you know. A50 gold back I would, I would
- 11:11go. With the 50 gold back, if I had
- 11:12to knew that I had, I wasn't going to need.
- 11:15Value out of it for let's say six months or a year or even
- 11:19maybe 6. That's right.
- 11:21And you know the. Dollar is what it is.
- 11:23The dollar is is a note. It's a note for debt.
- 11:28So whenever you work for someone, they.
- 11:30Give you a paper dollar. That's a a A note.
- 11:33Of debt that you're owed. And then you can take that to
- 11:37someone else and you can. Trade that debt.
- 11:39For goods and services, and that's fine for what it?
- 11:42Is but it's a. Debt note and it's subject to
- 11:46inflation. So it it it has its.
- 11:48Place in the marketplace but. A store of value the.
- 11:52Dollar is not stocks. Are a store of value.
- 11:56Other investment options are a store.
- 11:57Of value. Gold and silver are precious
- 11:59metal. Assets that are store of.
- 12:01Value and those are the ones that I like, but you know
- 12:03properties, vehicles, things of like.
- 12:06That are stores of value. If you were looking at the used
- 12:09car market in 2019, you wouldn't.
- 12:11Have thought that that was a store of value.
- 12:14But in 2021, all of a sudden, the used car market is a really.
- 12:18Great store of value because. If you compare the used car
- 12:24against the dollar, the used cars are beating the dollar
- 12:28right now. Because the wealth is being.
- 12:31Preserved in the in the car and the inflate and the dollar is
- 12:35being inflated and so. Many things are a store of
- 12:39value. The what makes the?
- 12:40Gold backs Really. A great store of value is it's.
- 12:43So small. This is only about $4.00 so you
- 12:46can buy a carton of eggs. You can buy a cup of coffee.
- 12:49You can do. You can trade this simply and
- 12:52easily and you get to carry it around in your wallet and it
- 12:55looks really nice. It has a nice functional use to
- 12:58it. You can carry a lot of them
- 13:00where with. I like silver too.
- 13:03So walking around with a pocket full of silver is kind of
- 13:05challenging sometimes if you've got 25 silver pieces versus 25
- 13:10of these that are nicely folded into your.
- 13:13It's a lot easier to carry the gold backs, so.
- 13:15They have a functional purpose to them and and back.
- 13:18To the asset part of. It in the store of wealth
- 13:22against the dollar. It it seems as if to me, I've
- 13:27changed my thinking lately. To where?
- 13:29The value of the gold. Is actually staying the same.
- 13:32Because you're you're. Buying the gold and you're
- 13:34putting the wealth, your wealth into the gold and you're
- 13:37building it. You're you're building it up
- 13:39over time. Metals in general.
- 13:41You are. And then?
- 13:42The value, the dollar value of the gold goes up but.
- 13:46That's not really. Because the value of the gold
- 13:48is. Going up, that's because the.
- 13:49Value of the dollar. Is going down.
- 13:51So when when you see. Gold going down in price.
- 13:56That just means that the. Dollar did a little bit.
- 13:58Better that month, but over time we've seen for the last 100
- 14:02years, over time dollar is subject to inflation and gold
- 14:07and silver is not. So it's a better.
- 14:09Store of value in my opinion absolutely.
- 14:12And that can be I think of. A bit of a difficult concept for
- 14:16any of us that were maybe born and raised in a western country
- 14:19to. Grasp the fact that you know you
- 14:22aren't measuring gold in dollars.
- 14:25Maybe you're measuring dollars in gold and and you know and and
- 14:30I even heard someone put forth the argument regarding the gold
- 14:34standard. I like to think, I like to say
- 14:36that the world's never gone off the gold standard, the silver
- 14:39standard. It's always, you know, Nixon
- 14:41temporarily. Took us off the gold standard,
- 14:43but at the end of the day, you know, the world is still on the
- 14:47gold standard. And one of my guests brought up
- 14:50a great point And he said, yeah, as long as in America you're
- 14:54still able to convert your paper dollars for gold, the argument
- 14:59can be made that you know. Gold is still the the base gold
- 15:03and silver, like, John Exter, who was an ex Federal Reserve
- 15:08economist, wrote many time with Extras Pyramid.
- 15:10I don't know if you're familiar with that, but gold and.
- 15:12Silver are the base of the monetary system.
- 15:16And, you know, yeah, you can, you can measure it in dollars,
- 15:20but at the end of the day, it still is the, you know, the
- 15:24foundation upon which everything rests.
- 15:27And I think it really is. And if you want to just see any
- 15:30proof of that or evidence of that, just look.
- 15:33At what the central bankers? Have been doing for the last
- 15:35five or six. Years they've been buying.
- 15:37As much gold and silver as they can.
- 15:39So they know the value of it and they they know that their wealth
- 15:42is going to be stored in that value and they know that
- 15:44they're. You're.
- 15:46Not going to have a bank that collapses.
- 15:47If you've got a vault full of gold.
- 15:50In. Silver So you'll be in good
- 15:52shape and I'm going to interject as well as.
- 15:57It goes with your point, not only if the central bank's been
- 15:59buying gold. But they've also been
- 16:01repatriating gold countries all over the.
- 16:05World have been requesting. That's been going on for maybe
- 16:08the last 5-10 years, but it's even picked up a little bit.
- 16:11Lately, where you've got country saying we don't want to store
- 16:14our gold in New York or London, we want our gold now in our
- 16:18country, they're going back to the old.
- 16:20Which gold back achieves this as well.
- 16:23If you don't hold it, you don't own it.
- 16:26Type mentality and and it's important to note that the not
- 16:30only central banks have been acquiring gold, but the Bank for
- 16:35International Settlements, the BI.
- 16:38S, which is the central Bank of the central banks.
- 16:42They changed the, the, the, the reserve.
- 16:45Status of gold to a tier one asset a few years back, meaning
- 16:49that's the highest level. For physical gold.
- 16:52For physical gold that if a bank owns physical gold, they
- 16:55basically can. You know that's considered now a
- 16:57tier one asset. So, you know, it seems that all
- 17:00over the world we're. Seeing a renewed A renewed
- 17:08interest in gold as a store of value, I think so.
- 17:12I think so, and I think there's more to come too.
- 17:14So you like. The silver markets pretty heavy,
- 17:19what do you think about? What's going on in Shanghai,
- 17:21over in China right now with the silver markets, what's?
- 17:24Your about that there you. Know that.
- 17:26That's interesting. I'm not a I'm not a guru or an
- 17:28expert. But I tell my viewers, and those
- 17:30that are joining us right now, there's two new acronyms that we
- 17:33need to remember. SGE, the Shanghai Gold Exchange
- 17:39and the SFE, the Shanghai Futures Exchange, because you
- 17:43know, in the last couple weeks we've seen a, a, a, A.
- 17:47Difference in price on both of those markets, which was
- 17:50significantly higher than what silver and gold were trading for
- 17:55in New York and London. I think with silver it got as
- 17:58high as 12 or 13%. You know silver was trading
- 18:01around $25 when it was trading in in Shanghai, when it was
- 18:06trading for like 2223 in the Western markets.
- 18:12So it's an interesting dynamic and another thing I'll throw in
- 18:15and then I'll get your thoughts on that as well, Adam, is the
- 18:18one of the big differences is though their markets, the
- 18:20Shanghai Gold Exchange is much more based upon physical.
- 18:24There's not this crazy leverage that I'm sure everybody's.
- 18:28Heard about it like we have at the Commacks, where there's
- 18:31somewhere between 30 and 300 contracts written on each one
- 18:35ounce of metal that they actually have in their vault.
- 18:39Man, you know so much more about it than I do.
- 18:42Boy, you believe me? I was just.
- 18:46Looking at the. Silver markets because they had
- 18:48turned over the weekend. I liked what I was seeing on on
- 18:52it from Shanghai on Friday. I like to.
- 18:57Pay attention. To what Shanghai is doing at
- 19:019:30 at night. The next day and it's kind of a
- 19:04a tell on on what our markets are going to do the next day.
- 19:08So I noticed that the silver and precious metals, but
- 19:11particularly. Silver had started picking up.
- 19:14In in Shanghai Thursday night at 9:30 and then by the time the
- 19:19markets opened here, it had opened at about 1.7% higher than
- 19:24it was the Thursday. Previous and I think.
- 19:27It's going to happen the same thing today.
- 19:29The markets are going to open in about 15 minutes and.
- 19:31And judging from what? Silver.
- 19:34Was being sold for at 9:30 last night.
- 19:38I think we're going to have a nice, exciting week this.
- 19:40Week for Silver? And I think right now Silver has
- 19:44hit its bottom, it's been dropping, but it, it went kind
- 19:46of crazy back in March and shot way up with really high premiums
- 19:51and I think we were. Due for a A.
- 19:53Correction because the the market was hysterical for about.
- 19:56Five or six weeks? And so I think it came down nice
- 19:59and slow. And now we're getting ready to
- 20:01go into. The fourth quarter Q4 is coming
- 20:04up. We're getting ready to.
- 20:06Have a whole bunch of banking profits and and and earnings
- 20:10reports that are going to be coming out at the end of
- 20:12September and I don't think those, I don't think those
- 20:14reports are going to be very good.
- 20:16For the banks, and so I I. Expect the fourth quarter to be
- 20:20very exciting with silver and it's really going to start
- 20:23picking up. And if Shanghai has any
- 20:25indication, if it's the Canary, then it's it's indicating that
- 20:29it's going to, we've hit the bottom now and it's going to
- 20:31start turning back up is what my prediction is, but.
- 20:34That was that was my take on it. You you you were much more well
- 20:38read on that. I know way more than I do.
- 20:41No, that was that's that's a. Great.
- 20:45It's. Interesting.
- 20:46You know the gold back. Obviously is a gold based
- 20:49product. It's also important.
- 20:50To note with the Chinese you know China is the number one
- 20:54producer of gold in the world. They're also the biggest buyer
- 20:59of external. Gold in the world and and there
- 21:03was also a. Big almost 6.
- 21:06I think at one point last week gold was trading and when gold
- 21:10was trading for like $1912.00 in the US.
- 21:15Trading for like 2020 and higher in Shanghai.
- 21:20So you know and I think we can't underestimate the importance of
- 21:24the fact that that. The Shanghai Gold Exchange is a
- 21:27much more physical market. You know the COMEX and the LBMA
- 21:31are. Are leveraged derivative
- 21:34markets. Essentially whereas that market
- 21:38in Shanghai now and when it comes to silver, I'm sorry I'm
- 21:40rambling on here but another interesting thing to to consider
- 21:43with silver in China is. It's a much.
- 21:46More physical market, but from an industrial.
- 21:50They have much. A huger, much huger, more more
- 21:55robust demand for physical silver as well and they've been
- 21:59very vocal. The.
- 22:01Chinese about the fact that they think the silver.
- 22:04Price is too low. And how critical of a metal it
- 22:08is, not only from a precious metals perspective store a value
- 22:11perspective, but. Even more importantly for them
- 22:15to a certain degree is to be used in the manufacturing
- 22:18process. So and I wonder what the
- 22:21manufacturing rhythm is in China.
- 22:23I'm not familiar with you know what their down times are.
- 22:27You know they're they have kind of a a moving new year.
- 22:33It's somewhere between I think February and April or something
- 22:37at their new year moves. With their with their calendar
- 22:41in relation to ours. So I wonder when they start a
- 22:45new Chinese New Year if that affects.
- 22:48Their manufacturing rhythms and and I wonder, I would now I'm
- 22:54interested to know what those rhythms are because once the
- 22:57manufacturing kicks up, that's whenever the silver's going to
- 22:59kick up and it's going to become more exciting, yeah.
- 23:03It's, you know, many analysts that follow.
- 23:08This very closely. Have talked about the fact that
- 23:12the both the silver and the gold.
- 23:14Markets are experiencing right now a tremendous period of
- 23:20change where the. They call it price discovery,
- 23:24the price discovery. Mechanism is.
- 23:27Appears to be shifting. More toward the eastern
- 23:31countries. You know, not to get into a big
- 23:34geopolitical conversation, but we have what's going on with the
- 23:36BRICS countries and now the BRICS plus with six more
- 23:39countries joining them, Those countries are, you know, are
- 23:43massive from a population perspective, from an economic
- 23:47perspective and from a economic growth perspective.
- 23:52With, you know, we're here. In the United States, we've seen
- 23:55kind of a strain put on our middle class, while China and
- 23:59India. Which combined have 2.8 billion
- 24:02people in their country, right, like 9 times what we have in the
- 24:06US and they have expanding economies and they have growing
- 24:10middle classes and Adam on top of that.
- 24:14Both. China, Chinese and Indian
- 24:17cultures. Put a.
- 24:18They're crazy about silver and gold.
- 24:21So it's it's real interesting time, you know, to be owning
- 24:25things like gold backs when it comes to store value.
- 24:29There's this whole move throughout the world to de
- 24:31dollarize. It's just a very exciting.
- 24:36Very interesting time and and you know to get again to get
- 24:40back to these these beautiful South Dakota gold backs, I mean.
- 24:44They are. A store of value and.
- 24:47In that metal that is in there is.
- 24:49Valued throughout the world. I think in the United States we,
- 24:53you know it, it's like the inverse or the opposite.
- 24:58Here, as opposed to India or China, I.
- 25:00Talked to people that were. Born.
- 25:02In India, have a lot I run into, have a little job I do at night
- 25:06or you talk to Chinese people and ask them.
- 25:08People that have lived in that country, you know, how are gold
- 25:13and silver perceived? And they're they'll tell you
- 25:15that, you know, it's like the. Opposite of what it is here
- 25:18everybody buys gold and. And that seems to be the trend.
- 25:24Where, Where A lot of. Let's say.
- 25:27Geopolitical power is shifting. Right now.
- 25:31And economic power. So I'm sorry I've gone down a a
- 25:35long rabbit hole, but it's it's a very interesting time here in
- 25:38which we live. No, you you've raised an
- 25:40interesting point and and a great point to talk about first
- 25:44mining. Gold is a development company
- 25:46advancing 2 of the largest gold projects in Canada, Spring Pole
- 25:51in Ontario and Du Parquet located in Quebec each.
- 25:55Already has five. 1,000,000 ounces of gold reserves.
- 25:58But exploration initiatives are underway at both projects to
- 26:03find even more gold. First, mining is well financed,
- 26:07has zero debt and owns an interest in four additional
- 26:11Canadian gold development projects over in different
- 26:14cultures. They think about gold
- 26:16differently than we do here in America.
- 26:18There is a coffee shop right around the corner.
- 26:20It's William and Sons Coffee. If you ever visit Manchester,
- 26:23you have to go to William and Sons Coffee because it's.
- 26:26Just absolutely the best. The gentleman John there that
- 26:29that owns and manages the place. He actually visits the farms in
- 26:33Brazil and the different areas where he buys the coffee beans
- 26:36and they ship them, the coffee beans green.
- 26:38So he's not getting them secondhand.
- 26:40He's not buying them from from any any, any, any, any
- 26:45distributor. He's buying them from the
- 26:47farmers and it's just off the hook and him being a world
- 26:51traveler. He Whenever I first started
- 26:54going there, the First off the coffee's phenomenal.
- 26:56So I I started going there every day.
- 26:59I I have a habit where I pull my wallet out and the first thing I
- 27:04do is I I open my wallet and you can see the gold backs right on
- 27:07the side. So my very first question is, do
- 27:09you accept? Like, can I can I pay with gold?
- 27:12And this gentleman had never seen Gold back or anything, and
- 27:16so he looked. At that.
- 27:18And he looked back at me and he says, you're going to pay me
- 27:21gold for coffee. And I said yes, Sir, if you'll
- 27:23take it. And he says I can make a lot of
- 27:25coffee. But he came from a culture in
- 27:30Brazil. Where and he's a world traveler
- 27:33and they treat gold and silver totally different and other
- 27:36cultures so. For him, he had.
- 27:39For him, it was an easy answer. It was an easy yes.
- 27:41If you're going to pay me gold for coffee, I'm going to make
- 27:44you as much coffee. As you have, as you have for
- 27:46gold and and so is and I've seen that again with people from
- 27:51Pakistan and other parts of. Europe, where they're used to
- 27:54seeing gold, they're used to seeing it, they're used to
- 27:56transacting in it. And whenever I show them a gold
- 27:59bag, about the only thing that they want to talk about is how
- 28:02nifty it is, how thin it is. They want to talk about the
- 28:05manufacturing. Process.
- 28:07But they're they're, they're. I don't have to sell them on
- 28:12gold and silver. I'm just showing them.
- 28:15I'm just showing them the gold back and I'm just showing them
- 28:17what we have and they they're more interested in how it's made
- 28:20and and things like that and they're they're very easy to
- 28:23sell. On because they know the value
- 28:24of those precious metals. So what you're saying about
- 28:27India and China, they're used to seeing these things and so their
- 28:31culture? Is a lot different and it's much
- 28:33more widely accepted, I think, yeah.
- 28:36Gold and silver have been valuable.
- 28:38You know this. I know this and and the the
- 28:40person joining us right now knows this, but it's.
- 28:42Worth repeating? Have been valuable for thousands
- 28:46of years, and not just for thousands of years.
- 28:49But everywhere. On the globe I'm looking up my
- 28:52grandpa's old globe, up behind my camera, and anywhere on that
- 28:55planet during any time in the last thousands of years.
- 28:59Gold and silver. Have been.
- 29:01Valuable. And I you know, I think that
- 29:04that that in America. There's there was when you.
- 29:07Know when? When Nixon took us off the gold
- 29:10standard in 71. There was a concerted effort to
- 29:15at that point, you know, they divorced the dollar from gold.
- 29:19And there was a concerted effort to, let's say, dissuade
- 29:23Americans away from owning physical gold and silver.
- 29:26And we can't forget that, you know, prior to that, from 1933
- 29:31when Roosevelt confiscated everybody's gold and made it
- 29:34illegal. So from 1933 through 1974 it was
- 29:38illegal to own gold in this country.
- 29:40So we've had almost a. 100 years now of either.
- 29:44Gold. Being illegal, which it was at
- 29:46one point to then being shifted to.
- 29:50Let's just say. People.
- 29:54Were discouraged from buying. So I mean the in the in the
- 29:57mainstream. Financial services industry in
- 30:00this country doesn't sell silver and gold, right?
- 30:03They sell. Stocks and bonds.
- 30:04And things that they can make commissions on, so we have.
- 30:07We have a culture. Here, where parents and
- 30:09grandparents aren't teaching their kids about the.
- 30:13Value of silver and gold. But there seems to be an
- 30:16awakening and it also, I think it's very important to point out
- 30:20that. What we're doing.
- 30:21Is what our Founding Fathers. Wrote into the Constitution, you
- 30:26know you're familiar with the number of states around the
- 30:28United States that on an individual state by state basis,
- 30:31or you know, passing legislation based on the Constitution to
- 30:35allow their citizens to use gold and silver as legal tender.
- 30:38So. It's an.
- 30:41It's an interesting time on many levels in which we're living
- 30:44right now. Yes, it is.
- 30:46Yeah. And those states are growing.
- 30:47There were some. House representatives that.
- 30:52Filed a few bills, I think one bill in particular, last week.
- 30:56To to make gold and silver more widely accepted by the.
- 30:59State and in New Hampshire now we'll we'll have to see how
- 31:02that. Goes this is the.
- 31:03It's an awkward thing with politics.
- 31:05You have to submit a bill and then you don't get to talk about
- 31:08it until February. So I don't know how any of that
- 31:11stuff works, but apparently. They they they've submitted it
- 31:15and then they're going to start talking about it in February.
- 31:17So a lot of states are doing that, though a lot of.
- 31:20States are really pulling back, dialing back their money
- 31:23situation, really thinking about it, thinking about how they're
- 31:26going to manage their local economies well.
- 31:29And and you know, I like this. I like to point this out to to
- 31:32the viewers. As well if you.
- 31:33Think about the big. Picture of what's going on.
- 31:37With. Gold with.
- 31:38Gold backs with silver. Maybe people are silver stackers
- 31:42in the United States. You've got a growing number of
- 31:45people who are who are buying silver and gold.
- 31:49Okay. Then and and then if you if you
- 31:51zoom out on a state by state. Basis you've got a growing.
- 31:54Number of states that are moving forward with this legislation,
- 31:58Tennessee, you probably know the list better than me.
- 32:00I know we're trying here in Missouri, Kansas, past.
- 32:04There's just a growing. Number of states.
- 32:06That are. Protecting their citizens,
- 32:09right, Constitutional right. And then if you zoom out on a on
- 32:13a national basis, obviously the, you know, on a national federal
- 32:17basis, there's nothing going on with gold and silver.
- 32:20But if you zoom out one level further.
- 32:22To the world and. I'll just end with this last
- 32:25point. You know, if you look at the
- 32:27five biggest economies in the world, at the top you have the
- 32:31United States. But close behind.
- 32:33And #2 you have China. We already talked.
- 32:36About how the Chinese? Value gold, right?
- 32:38The world's biggest producer. The world's biggest importer.
- 32:41We know how the Chinese feel about gold.
- 32:44In. #3 You have Japan. And there's we could go on for
- 32:51another half hour talking about how right now in Japan there is
- 32:54a gold frenzy going on because the yen is dropping in value in
- 33:00Japanese citizens are I'd encourage anyone listening going
- 33:03to Google and write Japanese goldbine.
- 33:06It's there's. A gold frenzy.
- 33:08Going on Japan and Japan is a huge, huge economy.
- 33:11And I may have mixed up #3 and #4, but that doesn't really
- 33:14matter because we're going to say #4 is Germany.
- 33:17Jarmans love gold and silver They have.
- 33:20For, you know, it's. Part of their called a lot of
- 33:22that has to do with past hyperinflations, the Weimar.
- 33:26You know all that whole situation and #5 is India and
- 33:30nobody compares to India when it comes to love of precious
- 33:36metals. Indian households have 25,000
- 33:38metric tons, just their households alone which is 3.
- 33:42Times what we have at Fort Knox, so.
- 33:45The world. Of precious metals, I don't
- 33:48know. And when you look at the
- 33:49countries that are growing, you know, to me.
- 33:52The trend? Seems to indicate that I'm not
- 33:55saying people are going to get rich by buying gold and silver,
- 33:59but this is what I like. Then I promise, Adam.
- 34:01I promise I will. I will.
- 34:03I will be quiet but what I like about.
- 34:05Silver and gold? Is that when I look at it?
- 34:09Is there a? Chance that it could go down in
- 34:11real value. I think very minimal chance that
- 34:15in terms of real value that it could go down.
- 34:18Is there a chance that that it will?
- 34:21Maintain its value, I say the. Probability of that terms of.
- 34:25Maintaining real value, right? You know that an ounce of gold
- 34:29will continue to buy me a fine suit of clothes. 50 years ago,
- 34:33just like it has for the last. 2000 years, absolutely.
- 34:36That and that. There's a chance depending on.
- 34:39How situations play out in the future that it could offer some
- 34:45some significant real value appreciation as we head into
- 34:50these next 10 years Because when I look at the big.
- 34:52Picture, you know. We won't even go into the
- 34:56financial situation United States.
- 34:58I just I I. I I see a scenario.
- 35:00Where the metals will will continue to perform well.
- 35:05Yes, and I'm going to have to wrap it up too because I'm going
- 35:07to have to open the store soon. But So what you're saying about
- 35:11gold is going to hold its? Value, so the biggest argument I
- 35:15have for gold or. That I've heard for gold and how
- 35:18it's going to drop in value is that there's a comet and outer
- 35:21space. That people are thinking about
- 35:23mining and that would destroy the gold market, so right?
- 35:26Now we have a dollar that that falls every time some rich man
- 35:30sends a tweet, and the best argument you have for gold is a
- 35:34comet in outer space. That's going to crash the gold
- 35:37market. I'll stick with gold.
- 35:38I'll take my chances with the comment.
- 35:41I don't know. Maybe you need to go put.
- 35:42Your space suit on, that's what. You're up to.
- 35:45I'm not sure. Thank you.
- 35:46Thanks absolutely. Thank you so much, Ron.
- 35:48I really appreciate being on your show.
