- 0:07Speaker 1: Here comes Jim Salisbury from the Phillies Show. The show
- 0:10Speaker 1: is getting a ton of attention in Philadelphia all the time,
- 0:13Speaker 1: but a lot of national attention lately for some topics
- 0:16Speaker 1: which we'll get to. Jim, great to see you, and
- 0:18Speaker 1: I'm going to start spicy. You know, we like to
- 0:21Speaker 1: bring it and be very straightforward. How pissed are the
- 0:24Speaker 1: Phillies that they did not land Bobachhett when they felt
- 0:28Speaker 1: as if he was signing there?
- 0:31Speaker 2: Phillies fans are ticked off, and I sense the front
- 0:35Speaker 2: office is a lot more ticked off then they are
- 0:38Speaker 2: letting on. They were quite surprised they didn't get that
- 0:43Speaker 2: thing through the finish line. They went to bed on
- 0:46Speaker 2: Thursday night thinking they were going to get a deal done,
- 0:52Speaker 2: thinking they were going to get a deal done. Those
- 0:54Speaker 2: are the words of Dave Dombrowski just a couple of
- 0:57Speaker 2: hours ago, and you know the Mets swooped in went
- 1:03Speaker 2: short term Hugh Mungo AAV. The Phillies did not have
- 1:07Speaker 2: an appetite for a deal like that, spend their mo
- 1:11Speaker 2: to spread things out. He's tax burden with the AAV.
- 1:16Speaker 2: So yeah, they he would have been a great fit
- 1:19Speaker 2: because obviously a very, very gifted hitter. You know, there
- 1:24Speaker 2: were what six three hundred hitters in baseball last year.
- 1:27Speaker 2: He was one of them. Now, all of a sudden,
- 1:28Speaker 2: you have two of them with Trey Turner, a guy
- 1:31Speaker 2: that can make a run at two hundred hits a lot,
- 1:35Speaker 2: you can control the strike zone, and he's right handed
- 1:37Speaker 2: and he's young, two things they really need. They need
- 1:40Speaker 2: some youth. They need some right handed in the middle
- 1:42Speaker 2: of that lineup to protect their two big left handed
- 1:45Speaker 2: sluggers Shoar and Harper. It would have been a great fit.
- 1:49Speaker 2: They thought they were on a path to get something done.
- 1:52Speaker 2: They met the number Brishette was looking for, and poof.
- 1:57Speaker 2: We've heard a lot about you know, when Steve Cohen
- 1:59Speaker 2: took over, there was a lot of talk about him
- 2:03Speaker 2: and John Middleton kind of being uh, competitors, and we
- 2:08Speaker 2: haven't seen a lot of it since, you know, until
- 2:11Speaker 2: this moment. They kind of the Mets. The Mets beat
- 2:16Speaker 2: out the Phillies on this one, and the Phillies are
- 2:18Speaker 2: smarting a little bit. Yes, Dave Dombroski used the expression
- 2:21Speaker 2: gut punch.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Yeah, what was the number? What we heard? Seven years,
- 2:28Speaker 3: two hundred million? Is that what because that's kind of
- 2:30Speaker 3: what's been reported. And then the Mets just said, you
- 2:35Speaker 3: know that we lost Tucker, we lost all these things.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Wham.
- 2:38Speaker 3: What is Boba Shit's reaction going to be when he
- 2:41Speaker 3: walks into Citizens Bank the first time? I mean, how
- 2:45Speaker 3: bad is this poor guy going to get it?
- 2:47Speaker 2: Yeah, he might want to add another O to his
- 2:50Speaker 2: first name. He's going to get Were those numbers corrected?
- 2:56Speaker 3: What do you think was the seven years two hundred million?
- 2:58Speaker 2: Was that correct? That's what I've heard that those are
- 3:01Speaker 2: right there. Right from the beginning when they were starting
- 3:04Speaker 2: to dip their toe in the water, like a week
- 3:08Speaker 2: or so ago, and you started hearing about this zoom
- 3:11Speaker 2: and started to check it out a little bit. You're
- 3:14Speaker 2: hearing that they're willing to do something in the two
- 3:16Speaker 2: hundred million dollar range. Willing to go two hundred million dollars.
- 3:20Speaker 2: At first I heard heard they might be thinking like
- 3:23Speaker 2: eight and two hundred, they go seven and two hundred.
- 3:26Speaker 2: That's twenty eight and twenty eight and a half million,
- 3:29Speaker 2: aav a lot of money. But obviously the Mets come
- 3:32Speaker 2: in short term at forty two plus per season or
- 3:37Speaker 2: forty two per season, it just kind of you know,
- 3:40Speaker 2: blows them away, and the Phillies just weren't, you know,
- 3:43Speaker 2: willing to go that. But I do you mentioned Tucker.
- 3:45Speaker 2: That was a pivot for the Mets. They had a
- 3:49Speaker 2: bag full of money and they threw it at Bashett.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Really good hitter. Now they had spoken to him throughout
- 3:56Speaker 2: I guess the off season, as far back as the
- 3:58Speaker 2: GM meetings. So I don't think he just like burst
- 4:01Speaker 2: on their screen. He was someone that they had thought about,
- 4:06Speaker 2: but they clearly had prioritized Tucker made a pivot to
- 4:10Speaker 2: Bishett and gut punch on the Phillies.
- 4:14Speaker 4: Everybody, here's the two hundred million. We're gonna find out
- 4:17Speaker 4: soon what Bellinger is gonna get. Do Phillies fans have
- 4:21Speaker 4: a right to say, wait, wait, wait, if there was
- 4:24Speaker 4: two hundred million, why were we not shopping else? What
- 4:27Speaker 4: else is out there? Because we're gonna have a Doolis
- 4:30Speaker 4: Garcias under three hundred on base percentage potential of hitting
- 4:33Speaker 4: thirty five home runs in the bank. Absolutely, but we're
- 4:38Speaker 4: going to have that in right field, and it could
- 4:41Speaker 4: have been Bellinger if we had this two hundred million.
- 4:44Speaker 4: Or do they have a right to be angry about that?
- 4:47Speaker 4: Because this team looks the exact same as it did
- 4:50Speaker 4: the last three or four years.
- 4:53Speaker 2: They can be angry about anything they want. The Phillies,
- 4:56Speaker 2: it doesn't sound like they're gonna pivot toward Bellinger, And
- 5:01Speaker 2: speaking with Dave Dobroski, he kind of shot down the
- 5:04Speaker 2: notion that they'd be continuing to shop at the at
- 5:08Speaker 2: the high end of the market. I think Bishette, like
- 5:11Speaker 2: I said, with the youth in the right handed bat
- 5:12Speaker 2: and the production, he was kind of an opportunity. They
- 5:15Speaker 2: couldn't walk away from him right from the get go
- 5:17Speaker 2: in this in coming out of coming into the off season,
- 5:20Speaker 2: resigning Schwarber, resigning Real Mudo was their priority. You know,
- 5:25Speaker 2: Real Mudo was jumped over just by the fact that
- 5:29Speaker 2: bishett was still available. So now they've earmarked dollars toward
- 5:34Speaker 2: real Mudo. I don't know that they can make that pivot,
- 5:38Speaker 2: but fans, you know, they're always going to want more,
- 5:40Speaker 2: and especially after you know, especially after the last three
- 5:45Speaker 2: off seasons, you know, twenty two, they get there with
- 5:49Speaker 2: house money, they get to the World Series twenty three,
- 5:51Speaker 2: they're just absolutely putting people through the meat grinder and
- 5:54Speaker 2: then they just you know, fall flat out on their
- 5:56Speaker 2: face in the nl CS against Arizona, they just beat themselves.
- 6:00Speaker 2: They did not hit the last two seasons. They don't
- 6:03Speaker 2: get past the division series, and you know a lot
- 6:06Speaker 2: of it self inflicted wounds. This bullpen last two off seasons,
- 6:14Speaker 2: the last two postseasons, I should say Phillies have played
- 6:17Speaker 2: eight games. The bullpen has a six and a half ERA,
- 6:20Speaker 2: five blown saves. They didn't run the base as well.
- 6:24Speaker 2: They didn't hit timely against the Dodgers, and they played
- 6:26Speaker 2: very poor defense this past October against the Dodgers. So
- 6:30Speaker 2: they have really beaten themselves. There's a lot of frustration
- 6:33Speaker 2: in town, a lot of anger in town. It's pretty
- 6:37Speaker 2: close to the boiling point if it's not at the
- 6:39Speaker 2: boiling point, and losing Bouchett certainly has contributed to that.
- 6:43Speaker 2: And you know, you see, you know, you see a
- 6:46Speaker 2: guy like Bellinger out there, and you say, well, why not.
- 6:49Speaker 2: They're not gonna They don't seem to be having an
- 6:52Speaker 2: appetite to make that pivot. Dombroski said he's content with
- 6:58Speaker 2: his roster. I think they're good enough to get to
- 7:00Speaker 2: October again, and then you just gotta you gotta play.
- 7:03Speaker 2: You gotta play a lot better baseball than they have
- 7:05Speaker 2: the last couple of years.
- 7:08Speaker 4: You've covered Dave Dombrowski's entire tenure in Philly. Has he
- 7:12Speaker 4: ever not gotten a superstar that he's gone after.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Well, they went after Yamamoto, so they didn't get that one.
- 7:21Speaker 2: But I don't think they were going to get that
- 7:22Speaker 2: one anyway. That would seemed to be a Dodgers deal
- 7:25Speaker 2: all the way, even though the Philly's an awful lot
- 7:28Speaker 2: of money. He is a guy that locks in on
- 7:32Speaker 2: a superstar. That's like, it's funny you say that. Kratzi
- 7:35Speaker 2: is kind of monitoring it all Last week talking to people,
- 7:38Speaker 2: a number of people said that to me, like, when
- 7:40Speaker 2: this guy locks in on a superstar, when he locks
- 7:43Speaker 2: in on a star, he gets him. So other than
- 7:47Speaker 2: the Yamamoto, I would think this is probably the first
- 7:49Speaker 2: time I can remember, at least in Philadelphia. I mean,
- 7:52Speaker 2: Dave had a great quote a couple years ago at
- 7:54Speaker 2: the winning meetings, said, you win with stars. He likes stars.
- 7:58Speaker 2: He likes his pictures. You know, six foot three throwing
- 8:01Speaker 2: ninety nine, and he likes stars. Didn't get this one.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Nobody likes a bloated cell phone bill. It can consume
- 8:11Speaker 1: you it can take over. It can be very annoying.
- 8:15Speaker 1: So I know that twenty twenty five ended crafts and
- 8:17Speaker 1: that's when you have your end of your sales, but
- 8:19Speaker 1: there actually is still one sale that is running until
- 8:22Speaker 1: the end of the month.
- 8:23Speaker 4: Midmobile they still have their fifty percent off their unlimited
- 8:26Speaker 4: premium wireless offer that you got to go and get
- 8:29Speaker 4: and take advantage of it because it's not necessarily.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Going to be around all the time, and all plans
- 8:34Speaker 1: come with high speed data and unlimited talking text delivered
- 8:38Speaker 1: on the nation's largest five G network. Quit overspending on
- 8:41Speaker 1: wireless with fifty percent off Unlimited Premium wireless plans start
- 8:44Speaker 1: at fifteen bucks a month at mittmobile dot com slash territory.
- 8:47Speaker 1: That's mintmobile dot com slash Territory Limited time offer upfront
- 8:51Speaker 1: payment of forty five dollars for three months, ninety dollars
- 8:53Speaker 1: for six months, or one hundred eighty dollars for twelve months.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Plan required fifteen dollars per month, equivalent taxes and fees
- 8:58Speaker 1: extra initial plan term only over fifty gigabytes may slow
- 9:02Speaker 1: a network is busy. Capable device required, availability, speed and
- 9:05Speaker 1: coverage varies.
- 9:06Speaker 5: Cementmobile dot Com shocking.
- 9:09Speaker 3: I'm shocked because he almost always gets like we said,
- 9:13Speaker 3: we talked about Dave Dobrowski says, I'm going on in
- 9:15Speaker 3: on this guy. I'm going, well, they pivoted to JT
- 9:20Speaker 3: without without with they signed Bo.
- 9:22Speaker 5: Do they have j T?
- 9:23Speaker 3: Because now there's people saying they overpaid for JT because
- 9:27Speaker 3: of his age and his production was down last year.
- 9:29Speaker 3: We all know how valuable he is to the Phillies
- 9:32Speaker 3: and what he's done for this team and what he
- 9:33Speaker 3: does for the pitching staff. What was this JT have
- 9:37Speaker 3: gotten this contract three years for forty five if the
- 9:40Speaker 3: Phillies signed Bobash, did they have the financial wherewithal to
- 9:44Speaker 3: do both? Or is JT thankful that Bo didn't sign.
- 9:49Speaker 2: I don't think JT is here if they completed that
- 9:51Speaker 2: deal with bobaschev Aj and Dobroski essentially confirmed that earlier
- 9:57Speaker 2: today in a zoom with reporters, JT kind of confirmed that,
- 10:03Speaker 2: you know, he felt like if they had gotten that
- 10:05Speaker 2: quote unquote opportunity done, that he would have been moving
- 10:08Speaker 2: on somewhere else. He actually said it felt like, as
- 10:13Speaker 2: you know, there was this little period where he didn't
- 10:14Speaker 2: think he was coming back and he said, it was
- 10:16Speaker 2: almost like a morning period. So I feel pretty comfortable
- 10:21Speaker 2: saying that JT would not have been here because they
- 10:23Speaker 2: would have taken the money earmarked for him, and as well,
- 10:27Speaker 2: they would have moved on from someone in their infield
- 10:30Speaker 2: trimming more payroll to help them get the money they
- 10:34Speaker 2: needed to make the Buschett deal happen. So JT is back,
- 10:38Speaker 2: you know, Dave said when he heard the next morning
- 10:41Speaker 2: that you know, Tucker had gone to the Dodgers. The
- 10:47Speaker 2: Mets swoop in, they get Bushette. It took him less
- 10:52Speaker 2: than an hour to call JT's agent. They up their
- 10:55Speaker 2: offer and they got that done. So there was you know,
- 11:01Speaker 2: both sides were ready to move on. Matter of fact,
- 11:05Speaker 2: JT spoke on the same zoom call a little earlier
- 11:10Speaker 2: today than Dombrowski. And you know, I've done a lot
- 11:15Speaker 2: of these, you know, press conferences where a guy signs
- 11:19Speaker 2: a free agent deal, where a guy returns to an
- 11:21Speaker 2: organization after being a free agent, and there's always a
- 11:26Speaker 2: celebratory tone in these zooms or these press conferences. To me,
- 11:31Speaker 2: this one just it lacked that there was a little
- 11:37Speaker 2: bit of, I don't know, a joylessness to it. I mean,
- 11:42Speaker 2: everybody's happy he's back. He's happy to be back. But
- 11:45Speaker 2: it didn't feel like one of those celebratory news conferences.
- 11:50Speaker 2: It felt like, okay, I'm here, I was almost gone,
- 11:54Speaker 2: let's see where this thing goes. It just had a
- 11:56Speaker 2: different feel to it for me as someone who's seen
- 11:59Speaker 2: a lot of those events.
- 12:01Speaker 3: Okay, well that kind of is my question. Should the
- 12:03Speaker 3: Phillies fans listen? I love JT. I think he is
- 12:06Speaker 3: still one of the better catchers in baseball. If not,
- 12:08Speaker 3: I mean where he was at his peak, right, But
- 12:10Speaker 3: what would have been better for him? And this is
- 12:12Speaker 3: just your opinion, obviously, but if they would have signed
- 12:15Speaker 3: Bow and not brought back JT, and then had to
- 12:17Speaker 3: move a Stot or a Bom and maybe had to
- 12:19Speaker 3: use a different catcher, go find a catcher, because everyone,
- 12:22Speaker 3: including Ourskabron, have said, hey, maybe they need to shake
- 12:25Speaker 3: it up a little bit and get younger and get
- 12:27Speaker 3: more athletic. So which one do you think is better
- 12:30Speaker 3: for the Phillies, not only this year but two years
- 12:32Speaker 3: from now.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Look, I think they would have if you had Boba
- 12:37Speaker 2: Schett and you had to subtract JT. As much as
- 12:39Speaker 2: I'm a JT fan, I just think what he does
- 12:42Speaker 2: for that ball club, from the clubhouse to game prep
- 12:46Speaker 2: with the pitching staff, to leading the pitching staff, to
- 12:49Speaker 2: actually in, you know, behind the plate, reading swings, making
- 12:52Speaker 2: in game adjustments. I just think there's so much value
- 12:55Speaker 2: to that almost value that you cannot put a dollar
- 12:57Speaker 2: sign on. But I do think if you have added
- 13:00Speaker 2: Bobushet's right handed bat, you know, one hundred and ninety hits,
- 13:06Speaker 2: twenty eight home runs, close to one hundreds, and behind
- 13:09Speaker 2: those two left handed hitters, I think you're probably a
- 13:11Speaker 2: better team because you're better in the lineup. That said,
- 13:16Speaker 2: I have no problem with JT coming back. I think
- 13:19Speaker 2: they would have missed JT enormously because I don't think
- 13:23Speaker 2: they have anybody stepping in in the organization. They would
- 13:26Speaker 2: have had to gone out and sign a Victor Caratini
- 13:29Speaker 2: as a plan B, and you're just not as good
- 13:31Speaker 2: behind the plate with that setup. I know a lot
- 13:37Speaker 2: of folks see this as an overpay to go three
- 13:40Speaker 2: years on JT Realmudo, and you can make that case.
- 13:45Speaker 2: At least you know JT is going to be here
- 13:47Speaker 2: for three years if he becomes a high priced backup
- 13:50Speaker 2: in his third year. At least it's mentoring people. I
- 13:53Speaker 2: don't have any problem with the overpay. Teams do this
- 13:57Speaker 2: all the time that guys get the extra year. This
- 14:00Speaker 2: club is loaded with guys who got the extra year
- 14:04Speaker 2: contracts that could be cumbersome, if not ugly at the end.
- 14:09Speaker 2: This one, at fifteen million dollars, ain't going to be
- 14:12Speaker 2: that ugly in my opinion, for a franchise worth three
- 14:15Speaker 2: point one billion dollars.
- 14:18Speaker 4: Very rarely do we ever talk about a bench coach
- 14:21Speaker 4: hiring when it's Donnie Baseball. When it's Don Mattingly, it
- 14:25Speaker 4: becomes more newsworthy. Is it also something that's more newsworthy
- 14:29Speaker 4: that there isn't anybody that played in the big leagues
- 14:33Speaker 4: on the current staff and now they have somebody in
- 14:36Speaker 4: Donnie Baseball? Is that a Is there some some thought
- 14:42Speaker 4: process behind that to be kind of like a sounding board, like, hey,
- 14:47Speaker 4: I remember what this was like and bringing in a
- 14:49Speaker 4: guy like Donnie Baseball gives the coaching staff a little
- 14:52Speaker 4: bit more cachet.
- 14:55Speaker 2: No question. Something that Rob Thompson talked about is, you know,
- 14:59Speaker 2: they have a a handful of guys who did play
- 15:01Speaker 2: in the big leagues, but they didn't have the type
- 15:04Speaker 2: of career that Mattingly had, And Thompson has come out
- 15:08Speaker 2: and said that, you know, just as you put it,
- 15:11Speaker 2: that this is the guy who can be a sounding
- 15:13Speaker 2: board for our players and our stars. So it was
- 15:18Speaker 2: something that lacked on the coaching staff and now they've
- 15:20Speaker 2: addressed it. No player can stand off in a corner
- 15:23Speaker 2: of the clubhouse, you know, mutter about the coaching staff
- 15:26Speaker 2: not having big league playing experience. They got a guy
- 15:29Speaker 2: who probably should be in the Hall of Fame, a
- 15:31Speaker 2: guy wanted batting title, guy who was an MVP, guy
- 15:34Speaker 2: who played under the brightest lights in New York City.
- 15:38Speaker 2: I think he's a good addition in Philadelphia.
- 15:45Speaker 5: Jim, good stuff sense.
- 15:47Speaker 3: Yeah, enjoy Twitter wars, Jim Philly show. Enjoy you guys.
- 15:51Speaker 3: Enjoy your Twitter wars.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Okay, I mean you guys, no Twitter wars here, No
- 15:56Speaker 2: Twitter wars.
- 15:57Speaker 3: Well, you guys have been taking the brunt of some
- 15:59Speaker 3: stuff and I'm here for it. No.
- 16:01Speaker 5: Ruben's been battling, Well, Ruben's been in it.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Ruben's battling you see, Jim, Ruben's getting after it.
- 16:06Speaker 2: I like it. Yeah, Rubin likes to mix it up
- 16:09Speaker 2: in the corners. I'm I'm more of an observer.
- 16:13Speaker 1: I would say you're a silent assassin if anything right.
- 16:15Speaker 1: You pick and choose your spots. But it also mostly
- 16:18Speaker 1: gets put out in the show versus on online fair.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I mean save it for the show, right,
- 16:26Speaker 2: tune in? Yeah, come to come to the Philly Show.
- 16:29Speaker 5: Right Yeah, nice little hoodie there too. I like it.
- 16:34Speaker 2: I'm gonna get Cratzy one because I know he's a
- 16:36Speaker 2: great Philly.
- 16:39Speaker 5: There you go, Kratz. No, I can't tell you twenty minutes.
- 16:45Speaker 4: Can't tell you. Got to watch the rest of the show.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Jim Kratz hats in the last minute of the show.
- 16:51Speaker 1: But also, I just got my the Philly Show shirt,
- 16:54Speaker 1: so I will wear that at some point when it's
- 16:56Speaker 1: not forty six degrees in Orlando because it's a T shirt. Jim,
- 17:00Speaker 1: great to talk, appreciate you and everyone can catch you
- 17:04Speaker 1: on the Philly Show.
- 17:04Speaker 5: We'll talk to you, okay, Okay.
- 17:06Speaker 2: As we say on The Philly Show, I'll smell you
- 17:08Speaker 2: late of boys.
- 17:15Speaker 1: That m Jim futures regular season wins for the Chicago Cubs.
- 17:20Speaker 1: The number is at eighty eight and a half. Let's
- 17:24Speaker 1: go to our Cubs. Hater, our resident Cubs hater, aj Pierzinski,
- 17:28Speaker 1: and see if he's taking the over or the under
- 17:31Speaker 1: on the Cubbies.
- 17:33Speaker 5: Okay, what about your that's your heart? What about your brain?
- 17:37Speaker 4: Oh?
- 17:37Speaker 2: What was that number again? Eighty eight and a half?
- 17:39Speaker 1: They added Edward Yes, they added Edward Cabrera, they added
- 17:42Speaker 1: Alex Bregman.
- 17:43Speaker 3: Obviously they lost Kyle Tucker.
- 17:45Speaker 5: Division hasn't done.
- 17:46Speaker 3: They'll get Justin Steele back at some point.
- 17:49Speaker 5: I think they're ninety.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Sh It hurts my heart to say. I think they're
- 17:53Speaker 3: I think they're going to go over because I think
- 17:55Speaker 3: the Cardinals are going to be worse.
- 17:58Speaker 4: It should be better.
- 17:59Speaker 5: Yep.
- 17:59Speaker 3: I think finally this I know we say this all
- 18:01Speaker 3: them Brewers might take a little step back and the
- 18:06Speaker 3: Reds are gonna be around five hundred like they have
- 18:08Speaker 3: every other year. So I think this is the time
- 18:10Speaker 3: for the Cubs to capitalize us and I think they
- 18:12Speaker 3: win ninety and they probably win the division.
- 18:15Speaker 5: Wow, I don't know how you're going to top that. Crats.
- 18:18Speaker 4: Just like your boy Hawks said, this is over, It's
- 18:23Speaker 4: gonna go over. They might be a ninety two win
- 18:25Speaker 4: team this year. Cubs ninety two wins, locking.
- 18:30Speaker 5: Proud of you guys. Guys are hard on the Cubs sometimes,
- 18:33Speaker 5: and that's fine, rightly.
- 18:34Speaker 2: So they were mediocre.
- 18:36Speaker 4: They were five hundred team that had a hot stretch.
- 18:39Speaker 3: I feel like I'm pretty much right on when it
- 18:41Speaker 3: comes to the Cubs.
- 18:42Speaker 5: I think most people.
- 18:43Speaker 3: That I associate with myself, especially from the South Side,
- 18:46Speaker 3: feel like I'm pretty much right on when it comes
- 18:48Speaker 3: to my Cubs talk.
- 18:50Speaker 5: I would say that's accurate.
- 18:52Speaker 1: But then the North side has other thoughts, and other
- 18:55Speaker 1: parts of the Midwest.
- 18:56Speaker 5: They have other thoughts.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Who's where's that?
- 18:59Speaker 5: Even if you don't know where that is? Have you
- 19:00Speaker 5: heard of Iowa?
- 19:02Speaker 4: I've been to Iowa many times.
- 19:03Speaker 1: A lot of Cubs fans theres Iowa Cubs. That helps, Yes,
- 19:11Speaker 1: they get to see the Cubs before the Cubs. Yes, yeah,
- 19:14Speaker 1: But anyway, Yeah, I'll join you, guys.
- 19:16Speaker 5: I'll go over.
- 19:17Speaker 1: It's not my favorite play because I don't think they're
- 19:19Speaker 1: flying over, but I think they're going over.
- 19:21Speaker 5: I do. I'm with you, Krats. I think the ceiling
- 19:25Speaker 5: is in the ninety two ish range.
- 19:28Speaker 1: I think, man, I mean right now, for me, I
- 19:32Speaker 1: think the floor is pretty high. It'd be hard to
- 19:35Speaker 1: see them. Just yeah, falling apart. I mean, sure, pitching
- 19:39Speaker 1: injuries can happen, but they were starting to build a
- 19:42Speaker 1: little depth on that department.
- 19:43Speaker 3: So Horton's going to be back for his second year.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Yepnaga's back, Steel's coming back at some point. They have
- 19:49Speaker 3: Matthew Boyd, they have they have Cabrera or they're six.
- 19:53Speaker 3: They've made some dangs in their bowl. They've done some
- 19:56Speaker 3: nice movies in their bulls.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Oh yeah, a lot.
- 19:57Speaker 3: They've added Bragman another year for Bush. Swanson's solid as
- 20:03Speaker 3: it come. Which the key to me is what's PCA do?
- 20:06Speaker 3: Which PCA did they get They get the first at
- 20:08Speaker 3: PCA or do they get the second at PIA, Because
- 20:11Speaker 3: there's a major difference.
- 20:12Speaker 5: I'll take the middle. That works.
- 20:14Speaker 1: If it's the middle, he's he's so first half CPA
- 20:17Speaker 1: was PCA was a superstar. Agree with MVP there for
- 20:21Speaker 1: a month and a half, that was a superstar. So
- 20:24Speaker 1: if you even take a notch down of that, right,
- 20:26Speaker 1: the defense should be elite. So we've already got that
- 20:28Speaker 1: defense doesn't right. Base runnings there if the bat can
- 20:31Speaker 1: be at a level that's like a little above league
- 20:34Speaker 1: average versus way above league average, that's actually a star
- 20:36Speaker 1: player Krats.
- 20:37Speaker 5: Do you agree, yes, because of where his defenses.
- 20:41Speaker 4: Yes.
- 20:42Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 20:44Speaker 1: People have been pointing out how they are trying to
- 20:46Speaker 1: make more metrics now with the wind and the sun
- 20:48Speaker 1: and all kinds of things that are difficult at Wrigley
- 20:51Speaker 1: and how no and how pcay.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Every well, not every ballpark now every outdoor ballpark Scott
- 20:58Speaker 3: has wind in Son.
- 20:59Speaker 5: I understand, but they're not all treated equally.
- 21:02Speaker 2: M Yeah, but it's different.
- 21:04Speaker 4: You can't like just because it's blowing it like every
- 21:08Speaker 4: player makes the adjustment in game all of a sudden,
- 21:11Speaker 4: you're not just seeing win, just cut and turn on
- 21:14Speaker 4: a certain play. And then like you're making those adjustments
- 21:17Speaker 4: in every field, Like the sun is at every field,
- 21:21Speaker 4: there's I think it's not.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Every because there's roofs. Guys like the trop that has
- 21:28Speaker 3: a roof and there's no sun, so not every field
- 21:30Speaker 3: has I don't want to point play God doesn't understand
- 21:32Speaker 3: this though.
- 21:33Speaker 1: I don't want to point players out, but I will
- 21:34Speaker 1: for example, right, I'll watch a good share of Mets games.
- 21:37Speaker 1: There were a few times where you're like, uh, oh,
- 21:39Speaker 1: one soda, it's confused with where the Paul's gonna go?
- 21:44Speaker 1: And you just don't see that from PCA. Sorry one,
- 21:46Speaker 1: It's not just you. There are many others, but I
- 21:48Speaker 1: just there's a few late in the season coming to
- 21:52Speaker 1: mind from him where I'm like, some guys can't adjust
- 21:55Speaker 1: to that as well as others. So it's a thing, right,
- 21:58Speaker 1: And it's also more of a thing at Rick, I mean.
- 22:00Speaker 5: Sometimes more serious other people. Yeah.
- 22:04Speaker 1: So anyway, point is PCA should be a star player,
- 22:08Speaker 1: and he was a superstar in the first half of
- 22:10Speaker 1: the season.
- 22:10Speaker 5: We'll see what the bat looks like for them.
- 22:12Speaker 1: But these guys, including me, all like the Cubs to
- 22:15Speaker 1: go over bet MGM players will receive in any sport
- 22:19Speaker 1: parlay boost token.
- 22:20Speaker 5: Uh and now we don't have any more college football.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Don't want to talk about that, but anyway to use
- 22:25Speaker 1: the parlay boost token on sports like NBA, NHL and
- 22:30Speaker 1: eventually the WBC at a parlay wager middle of any
- 22:33Speaker 1: sport wagers to your bet slip activate the token if
- 22:36Speaker 1: you win, that token means extra winnings for you. Gambling
- 22:39Speaker 1: problem more concern called one eight hundred gambler
