  Speaker 1: a way to stay connected. So how to stay connected

  Speaker 1: and why they thought about the why. Oh, let's just

  Speaker 1: see before I mess everything up, I'll just stay connected

  Speaker 1: and why the Book of Acts, chapter two, verses forty
• 9:34
  Speaker 1: two and forty seven. And I literally seen this happen
• 9:38
  Speaker 1: recently in a church popular church. Don't forget the name
• 9:42
  Speaker 1: of the church right now, but it's very popular. I
• 9:44
  Speaker 1: just don't want to say the name wrong. I think
• 9:48
  Speaker 1: it's Pastor Phillips. His name is, and originally I think
• 9:53
  Speaker 1: he's originally from New York, Queens, New York. He had
• 9:57
  Speaker 1: a couple that came drove I think forty hours from
• 10:06
  Speaker 1: Canada something like that to be members of the church.
• 10:09
  Speaker 1: They sold everything, They sold all their possessions of their house,
• 10:13
  Speaker 1: traveled with their This man traveled with his wife and
• 10:16
  Speaker 1: his kids I think his kid or kids plural and
• 10:23
  Speaker 1: dogs sold everything to join the church. Talk about connection, right,
• 10:28
  Speaker 1: So what he did.

  Speaker 2: Was he.
• 10:33
  Speaker 1: Asked the church to come up and empty their pockets.

  Speaker 1: I think he did this a couple of different times,
• 10:41
  Speaker 1: hoping that in this time, right, it's empty their pockets

  Speaker 1: and put it on the altar. We got a basket
• 10:46
  Speaker 1: they gave that. Oh no, that's another thing. Another way
• 10:51
  Speaker 1: he did it for a single woman.
• 10:54
  Speaker 2: With his family.
• 10:55
  Speaker 1: I believe he just wrote a check I think from
• 10:59
  Speaker 1: the church for fety thousand dollars and gave this man
• 11:04
  Speaker 1: of this family a job because he said, no, don't
• 11:06
  Speaker 1: give me money, just give me a job.
• 11:07
  Speaker 2: I'll work for it.
• 11:09
  Speaker 1: He did both, and he quoted Acts chapter two. He said,
• 11:14
  Speaker 1: this is the way the church is supposed to be.
• 11:16
  Speaker 1: It was beautiful to see in this in these times
• 11:20
  Speaker 1: that we're living. Beautiful to see good morning, brother Maurice.

  Speaker 1: Is good to see you on the morning. Devot blessings

  Speaker 1: to you and your family as well. Acts Chapter two,

  Speaker 1: forty two forty seven. They were continually and faithfully devoting
• 11:34
  Speaker 1: themselves to the instruction of the apostles and to fellowship,
• 11:41
  Speaker 1: to eating meals together and prayers. Me and my wife
• 11:46
  Speaker 1: craved at fellowship and eating meals together and prayer together.
• 11:49
  Speaker 1: We craved that.
• 11:52
  Speaker 2: Because we we know that's where it's at. Right.
• 11:57
  Speaker 1: A sense of awe was felt by everyone, and many
• 12:02
  Speaker 1: wonders and signs attesting miracles were taking place through the apostles,
• 12:10
  Speaker 1: and all those who had believed in Jesus as Savior
• 12:15
  Speaker 1: were together and had all things in common. Considering there
• 12:20
  Speaker 1: here it is possessions to belong to the group as
• 12:24
  Speaker 1: a whole, and they began selling their property and possessions
• 12:30
  Speaker 1: and were sharing the proceeds with all the other believers
• 12:36
  Speaker 1: as anyone had need. Day after day they met in
• 12:39
  Speaker 1: the temple area, continuing with one mind and breaking bread
• 12:45
  Speaker 1: in various private homes. Can you imagine that, going back
• 12:50
  Speaker 1: to breaking bread and homes and fellowship in and just
• 12:53
  Speaker 1: seeing the apostles or the leaders, or the pastors, teachers, evangelists,
• 13:01
  Speaker 1: pastor teachers, evangelists, apostle.
• 13:04
  Speaker 2: Am I missing one? Yeah?

  Speaker 1: I said, it all just God using them for science,
• 13:10
  Speaker 1: miracles and wonders. But the point here is, as anyone
• 13:14
  Speaker 1: had need. Day after day they met in the temple area,
• 13:17
  Speaker 1: continuing with one mind, very powerful, and breaking bread and
• 13:22
  Speaker 1: various private homes. They were eating their meals together with
• 13:26
  Speaker 1: joy and generous hearts, praising God continually and having favor
• 13:32
  Speaker 1: with all the people, and the Lord kept adding to
• 13:37
  Speaker 1: their number daily those who were being saved.

  Speaker 2: This is true.
• 13:43
  Speaker 1: Now, Oh what happened? We continue doing this? I don't
• 13:48
  Speaker 1: think any where in the scripture says stop doing this.
• 13:50
  Speaker 1: Not a ritual. There's a way of life, it's a
• 13:53
  Speaker 1: way of being. This is a way of God saw
• 13:57
  Speaker 1: the church to be and had the church to be
• 14:00
  Speaker 1: in the very start of it. Right, we are not
• 14:04
  Speaker 1: short of the word of God. We have the word
• 14:07
  Speaker 1: of God, the same word that the apostles were delivering.

  Speaker 1: We have it now and we actually know it from
• 14:13
  Speaker 1: beginning to end now as impossible the apostles, not the apostibles.
• 14:19
  Speaker 2: Is that a word all possibles.

  Speaker 1: As the apostles were filled holy ghosts failed, they were
• 14:25
  Speaker 1: doing this word in action. Now we are filled with
• 14:32
  Speaker 1: Holy Spirit and we could actually do this word and
• 14:36
  Speaker 1: take action. There's nothing short of what God is doing
• 14:40
  Speaker 1: and saying in our hearts and our minds. Let's go
• 14:45
  Speaker 1: And people say let's go back to the first century church.
• 14:47
  Speaker 1: I used to say that too. No, let's be the
• 14:50
  Speaker 1: church period, no matter what century. Let's just be the church.

  Speaker 1: We stay connected. God connects us. We have perfect union
• 15:00
  Speaker 1: with Christ through Holy Spirit, and we stay connected because
• 15:03
  Speaker 1: that's what we do. We don't have to force a
• 15:06
  Speaker 1: way through. We don't have to stay connected forcefully. We're
• 15:10
  Speaker 1: don't have to do rituals. We don't have to you know,
• 15:15
  Speaker 1: overdo things. We just be the church and watch what happens.
• 15:21
  Speaker 1: Be connected, stay connected to the body. The Bible urges
• 15:26
  Speaker 1: believers like us right not to neglect gathering together, so
• 15:32
  Speaker 1: that in Hebrews, very popular scripture that leaders use all
• 15:36
  Speaker 1: the time, come to church. But I think it means
• 15:40
  Speaker 1: a little bit more than coming to church. I think
• 15:42
  Speaker 1: it means what the Book of Access saying, connects, stay connected, fellowship,
• 15:46
  Speaker 1: break bread. Right, We're gonna see sis, miracles and wonders
• 15:50
  Speaker 1: as we come together. When you put a whole bunch
• 15:53
  Speaker 1: of lights of God together, a whole bunch of children
• 15:56
  Speaker 1: of God together, a whole bunch of prayer warriors together,
• 15:58
  Speaker 1: whole bunch of people that love Jesus together, is miracles

  Speaker 1: are bound to happen. I was gonna say organically. I
• 16:07
  Speaker 1: was gonna say generically, but not organically. Right, we're organism.
• 16:11
  Speaker 1: We're not an organization. We are the Body of Christ
• 16:15
  Speaker 1: and we function as God on earth. God designed the
• 16:20
  Speaker 1: church as a community where believers grow in faith. We
• 16:25
  Speaker 1: don't stay the same way we were when we first
• 16:29
  Speaker 1: got saved. We actually grow in our faith. Let's see,
• 16:34
  Speaker 1: since two thousand and one I was saved, we're in
• 16:37
  Speaker 1: the year that we're in now, so twenty four years
• 16:42
  Speaker 1: old in Christ It'll be twenty four years in December,
• 16:45
  Speaker 1: the twelfth day of December of this year, that I'll
• 16:48
  Speaker 1: be twenty four years old in the faith. Let me
• 16:52
  Speaker 1: say that again, twenty four years new in the faith.
• 16:55
  Speaker 1: See how that works. So whatever your past was is
• 16:58
  Speaker 1: your past. Once you're born again, you realize all your
• 17:02
  Speaker 1: sins are blotted out.

  Speaker 2: Consequences. Yeah, because God's a just God.

  Speaker 1: There will be consequences for actions that we take, or
• 17:12
  Speaker 1: actions that we took before Jesus saved us. But those

  Speaker 1: things are white clean when God sees us, When the
• 17:19
  Speaker 1: Father sees us, he sees the righteous robe of Jesus
• 17:22
  Speaker 1: on us, He sees the Lord's salvation, his mark, his
• 17:27
  Speaker 1: stamp of approval on us. We're righteous, We're pure, We're
• 17:30
  Speaker 1: holy where everything God says we are once we're born again. So,
• 17:35
  Speaker 1: according to the Book of Acts, chapter two, two to
• 17:38
  Speaker 1: forty seven, that is a beautiful representation of the Body
• 17:44
  Speaker 1: of Christ, of the Church of God, the community of God.
• 17:47
  Speaker 1: That's a perfect example of how we should be staying
• 17:50
  Speaker 1: connected with one another. We all know time is short,
• 17:54
  Speaker 1: and we all know that the world is throwing all
• 17:56
  Speaker 1: kinds of stuff at us, our children, our relatives, sickness, disease,
• 18:01
  Speaker 1: all that entered into the equation since Genesis chapter three.
• 18:05
  Speaker 1: But what happened Genesis chapter three to fall the man God?
• 18:09
  Speaker 1: That was a need for a redeemer, a need for
• 18:11
  Speaker 1: a savior was needed right then and there, and Jesus
• 18:15
  Speaker 1: fulfill that. So we run out of excuses of staying connected.
• 18:20

  Speaker 1: Trust me, you have your own worship. I have my

  Speaker 1: own worship. But we're worshiping the same God. Worship together,

  Speaker 1: invite God's presence together in a powerful way. Matthew eighteen twenty.

  Speaker 1: my mind, but I couldn't get that out of my

  Speaker 1: mind to physically connect with them. And yesterday I changed that.

  Speaker 1: Yesterday I changed that. Let's stay connected. I don't care

  Speaker 1: what church you go to. If you want to leave
• 19:32
  Speaker 1: the church and I'm at it's all good. But we
• 19:34
  Speaker 1: can stay connected. We're brothers in Christ, right we stay connected.
• 19:38
  Speaker 1: We could pray for one another, we could visit one another,
• 19:41
  Speaker 1: could break bread with one another. I'm not about the
• 19:45
  Speaker 1: whole branding of the church. I'm about the fellowship of
• 19:48
  Speaker 1: the church, the community of the church. I'm about growing
• 19:52
  Speaker 1: in our faith, living righteously, living connected to Christ, so
• 19:59
  Speaker 1: that the world could see our love for one another
• 20:01
  Speaker 1: and they could be like, I want that, because once
• 20:04
  Speaker 1: they see genuine love of a Christian towards one another,
• 20:09
  Speaker 1: they gonna want what we have. If they see something
• 20:12
  Speaker 1: that's similar to what they're doing, they're not gonna see
• 20:15
  Speaker 1: a difference and they're gonna be like, Nah, it doesn't matter.
• 20:17
  Speaker 1: I'm gonna stay the same way because they're like us.
• 20:20
  Speaker 1: We shouldn't be like that. Man, for sure, Accountability and
• 20:24
  Speaker 1: protection from spiritual drift.
• 20:26
  Speaker 2: This is very important. It's a whole word.
• 20:30
  Speaker 1: People are spiritually drifting away because they're not connected or men.
• 20:36
  Speaker 1: Not all men, but a lot of men. Sometimes we
• 20:39
  Speaker 1: isolate and we stay away from people when we're going
• 20:43
  Speaker 1: through things because we don't want to either be a
• 20:44
  Speaker 1: bother we trying to figure it out. We don't want
• 20:48
  Speaker 1: to admit our weakness. I tell everybody about my weakness
• 20:52
  Speaker 1: on these morning DeVos. If you look closely or you
• 20:56
  Speaker 1: realize what I'm saying, I'm talking through my weakness. In
• 21:00
  Speaker 1: my weakness, you actually see the Lord's power and the
• 21:04
  Speaker 1: same for you. In your weakness, God's power is revealed.
• 21:08
  Speaker 1: So isolation can lead to spiritual coldness, and you don't
• 21:11
  Speaker 1: want to be spiritually cold. But on the other end,
• 21:15
  Speaker 1: fellowship keeps your faith strong, keeps your faith strong. Being
• 21:21
  Speaker 1: part of the church, being a part of a group
• 21:23
  Speaker 1: of believers, being part of the body of Christ right
• 21:27
  Speaker 1: helps you stay accountable in your walk with Christ because
• 21:31
  Speaker 1: you can't hide. I definitely don't hide. You see me,
• 21:35
  Speaker 1: and man, when I'm having a good day or a
• 21:37
  Speaker 1: bad day, I make sure somebody's holding me accountable, somebody
• 21:41
