- 0:00Speaker 1: Alright guys, here we are. Last break of the day.
- 0:02Speaker 1: Thank you to our Steve Harvey Nation for riding with
- 0:05Speaker 1: us every single morning. Junior, you got a question for
- 0:08Speaker 1: Steve to close us out? I got a question for you, man.
- 0:11Speaker 1: You know, when you was out there doing the crazy
- 0:13Speaker 1: stuff you was doing, how.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Was you sitting up there looking at God when you
- 0:18Speaker 2: was in trouble back then?
- 0:21Speaker 1: What do you mean? How was I sitting up there
- 0:24Speaker 1: looking at God?
- 0:25Speaker 2: No, I'm just asking.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Crazy stuff he was doing.
- 0:30Speaker 2: What would make you think I was looking at God
- 0:32Speaker 2: while I was.
- 0:33Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? How were you looking? Like,
- 0:35Speaker 1: how did he find you?
- 0:37Speaker 2: Come on, man.
- 0:37Speaker 1: That's what you're saying. So, okay, say it again, Jude,
- 0:42Speaker 1: so I can understand. You must be in a crisis
- 0:44Speaker 1: or something. Tommy! Be honest with you, I really am. Oh,
- 0:48Speaker 1: you're in a crisis right now? Yeah. Yeah. It's in
- 0:54Speaker 1: my shoulder. That's all good. It's in the shoulder.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Yeah. Junior.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Man, what y'all worried about? You saw the weather changed.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:05Speaker 1: You know that. You ain't got no app on your phone. Wait, wait, wait.
- 1:10Speaker 1: You ain't got no app on your phone. For what?
- 1:13Speaker 1: What's that going to do? An app to say what?
- 1:15Speaker 1: For the weather. If you know the weather change, let's
- 1:17Speaker 1: get some coats on. What is we sitting up in here?
- 1:19Speaker 2: It's fall.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Enjoying this breeze. It's fall.
- 1:21Speaker 2: What is... If it's barometric pressure or something.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Let me ask this man a question.
- 1:28Speaker 2: You know what?
- 1:29Speaker 1: You're everything right now. Paying attention.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just trying to keep crisis there. He got
- 1:34Speaker 2: to find a way around this. He said, y'all saw
- 1:36Speaker 2: the weather change. Yeah, we saw the weather change, but
- 1:39Speaker 2: it ain't do nothing to us. You got to get
- 1:44Speaker 2: a grip on this weather, man, or you're going to
- 1:46Speaker 2: ask us how to move your little ass to Phoenix.
- 1:50Speaker 2: All right, Junior, I'm going to pray for you, man.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Go ahead. What you want to know now? Thank you.
- 1:55Speaker 1: When you were out here, when you wasn't the man
- 1:59Speaker 1: that you are today. Oh, no. When I was tripping. Yeah. OK. Yeah.
- 2:04Speaker 1: How did you get to where you are now?
- 2:07Speaker 2: That relationship that you have with God now.
- 2:08Speaker 1: What did it take for you to do that? Oh,
- 2:11Speaker 1: it was easy. It was easy.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:14Speaker 1: He took everything. Oh, wow. I lost it all. Yeah,
- 2:18Speaker 1: that's all. He know how to get my attention.
- 2:21Speaker 2: And the two times he needed my attention, he caused
- 2:25Speaker 2: me to lose everything, which was my measuring stick for
- 2:31Speaker 2: myself was what I was accomplishing. So when he strips
- 2:35Speaker 2: all that accomplishment, he go, okay, now what's your measuring strip?
- 2:39Speaker 2: Until I finally figured out that my measuring stick needed
- 2:42Speaker 2: to be my relationship with God.
- 2:45Speaker 1: As opposed to what I have or what I was doing.
- 2:49Speaker 2: And once he took everything and stripped it down, see,
- 2:53Speaker 2: each time I got it back, I had to go
- 2:55Speaker 2: to him to get it back. Every time I lost it,
- 2:59Speaker 2: I had to go to God to get it back.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Every single time. I ain't never crawled back by myself.
- 3:06Speaker 2: I ain't never got up out the hole, dusted myself
- 3:09Speaker 2: off by myself. I never got carried across the burning
- 3:14Speaker 2: sand by myself. You do none of this by yourself, dawg.
- 3:19Speaker 2: You don't recover from cancer by yourself.
- 3:23Speaker 1: That ain't you. That's God, man.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Every time I fell, I needed him to get back up.
- 3:32Speaker 2: So then it finally dawned on me as I got older,
- 3:35Speaker 2: hey Steve, when you gonna stop being stupid? Why don't
- 3:39Speaker 2: you stay with God when ain't nothing wrong. Why don't
- 3:45Speaker 2: you stick around with God when it's going good? You
- 3:49Speaker 2: ever thought about trying that? Instead of all the time
- 3:53Speaker 2: waiting until it completely fell apart, now you want to
- 3:56Speaker 2: go to God.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Now he got to show you who he is.
- 4:00Speaker 2: How many times, Steve, he got to take everything from
- 4:03Speaker 2: you for you to understand what he want from you?
- 4:07Speaker 1: How many times he got to take it? Well, twice. Twice.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Now I'm at this stage where I can't do that
- 4:15Speaker 2: no more. I done got smart now. So my relationship
- 4:19Speaker 2: with God is on a permanent basis, good or bad,
- 4:24Speaker 2: sink or swim, smiling or crying. I'm his and he mine.
- 4:31Speaker 2: I'm going to tell you something, man. I'm going through
- 4:33Speaker 2: something right now. I'm talking about really, really major. And
- 4:39Speaker 2: I had a friend of mine. lost something, lost a
- 4:43Speaker 2: contract that was critical to him. And the text I
- 4:47Speaker 2: sent him was quite simple. I said, hey man, keep
- 4:51Speaker 2: your head up and be watchful and watch and see
- 4:56Speaker 2: what God is about to do in your life. And
- 4:59Speaker 2: he was crying about this situation, man. And that was
- 5:02Speaker 2: my text to him. My next text to him was,
- 5:07Speaker 2: I told you. My next text to him, was I
- 5:11Speaker 2: told you. But now that same advice I give out,
- 5:17Speaker 2: I got to use it right now. Because something major
- 5:22Speaker 2: is transpiring in my life right now. And in the
- 5:28Speaker 2: words of Rudyard Kipling, in the words of the stanza
- 5:32Speaker 2: of one of my favorite poems, If, and one of
- 5:37Speaker 2: the stanzas says, if you can make one heap of
- 5:39Speaker 2: all your winnings, And risk it all on one turn
- 5:43Speaker 2: of pitch and toss. Lose and start again at your beginnings.
- 5:49Speaker 2: And never once breathe a word about your loss. And
- 5:54Speaker 2: there's a part in there that says if you can
- 5:56Speaker 2: stoop and build them up again with worn out tools.
- 6:03Speaker 2: And you just don't breathe a word about your loss. Man,
- 6:07Speaker 2: that's major to me. So I don't even tell people
- 6:10Speaker 2: when I'm losing no more. I just wait on God
- 6:12Speaker 2: to bring me through. Then when I get through, then
- 6:14Speaker 2: I'm going to tell you that story. I got a
- 6:16Speaker 2: story to tell, boy. Y'all ain't going to believe this.
- 6:19Speaker 2: God is good, man. But God is good because I got.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Good with him through the good and the bad. That
- 6:24Speaker 1: was the best decision I made. Must be legal U.S.
