- 1:32Speaker 1: I feel like the last time we did an interview,
- 1:35Speaker 1: you were getting ready to put your EP out, and
- 1:39Speaker 1: this was right before. I feel like life changed for you. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:44Speaker 1: and you got this Drake feature, which I know you've
- 1:47Speaker 1: talked about a million fucking times at this point, but
- 1:50Speaker 1: you and I haven't seen each other since then. Like,
- 1:52Speaker 1: how much has that feature? Because that record was number
- 1:55Speaker 1: one at radio? I mean yeah, it's one of those
- 1:57Speaker 1: songs that like, as a radio guy, like I'm Mike
- 2:00Speaker 1: tired of, which is a good thing because it's played out,
- 2:02Speaker 1: you know what I mean, it can't played too much.
- 2:04Speaker 1: How that record change your life? Bro? Uh? Just I mean, uh,
- 2:09Speaker 1: that's a lot of ways. I mean, you know, I
- 2:10Speaker 1: was on lock on Lockdown. It came out like doing quarantine,
- 2:15Speaker 1: so I didn't really get the experience like every everything
- 2:20Speaker 1: for real. But I think he's just kind of maybe
- 2:22Speaker 1: more richer. You know what I'm saying, probably beat by it.
- 2:28Speaker 1: It's probably like, you know, that helps biggest thing. You've
- 2:32Speaker 1: been still doing shows though we were doing shows like
- 2:37Speaker 1: I saw you was in my I saw you was
- 2:38Speaker 1: in Tempee. You killed the Phoenix. That ship looked crazy.
- 2:41Speaker 1: I don't think, well, I think I'm just thoughting about
- 2:44Speaker 1: to not do as many shows as I what I
- 2:47Speaker 1: was doing. But are you? Are you gonna be doing
- 2:50Speaker 1: like the solo headlining tour or yeah, That's what I'm
- 2:53Speaker 1: doing in August. So that's gonna be like the heart
- 2:57Speaker 1: of you. Is that gonna be like your first like
- 2:58Speaker 1: real hard ticket tours. I know you do our dates,
- 3:00Speaker 1: you know, run around, get the bag and all that shit,
- 3:02Speaker 1: but like this is like gonna be the first real tour. Yeah,
- 3:04Speaker 1: my first one. Yeah. Yeah, that's exciting man, that's gotta
- 3:08Speaker 1: be fun. Yeah. How's the entrepreneurial ventures going? I think
- 3:15Speaker 1: the last time we talked, we were talking about how
- 3:17Speaker 1: you ran out your tour bus. Yeah. I really ain't been.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Ain't gonna lie, I really ain't been too much. Oh my, uh,
- 3:23Speaker 1: like my other adventures besides music, you know what I'm
- 3:26Speaker 1: saying right now, But it's just because I got so
- 3:28Speaker 1: much with the music coming on, like with the album
- 3:32Speaker 1: and just running around every well like trying to, you know,
- 3:36Speaker 1: just do everything for this album, so I ain't really
- 3:38Speaker 1: just get to So have you been neglecting the restaurant,
- 3:41Speaker 1: the food truck ship? Yeah, like I really I sold
- 3:43Speaker 1: my food truck like at the COVID. I ain't really
- 3:47Speaker 1: open my restaurant back up for really, I just ain't
- 3:49Speaker 1: had time to just even miss with it for real
- 3:52Speaker 1: like that. But you know, one of the things like
- 3:54Speaker 1: I can always do, like I really right, right, right right, yeah,
- 3:57Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, really no theme for Yeah,
- 4:00Speaker 1: I think that that's like, you know, you're one of
- 4:02Speaker 1: the few artists that I met that that's coming up.
- 4:04Speaker 1: That's like I didn't really understands, like, you know, how
- 4:08Speaker 1: to put your money in different places and and and
- 4:10Speaker 1: to kind of be a little bit more responsible than
- 4:12Speaker 1: most when it comes to, you know, not burning through
- 4:15Speaker 1: your bread like that. Let me let me ask you
- 4:19Speaker 1: this because I know, you know, you had experienced the
- 4:22Speaker 1: Columbia shit and then fucking with Empire and then the
- 4:26Speaker 1: Drake record happens, and then that goes over the Warner
- 4:29Speaker 1: a little bit and I'm sure you know, at any
- 4:32Speaker 1: given time, you could have signed with anybody. What made
- 4:36Speaker 1: you want to stay independent? Stayed down with Ghazi and
- 4:38Speaker 1: the team and Empire. I just had more freedom, Like
- 4:42Speaker 1: I had just way more freedom. Like you know, I
- 4:45Speaker 1: felt like I was, you know, just running my own show,
- 4:49Speaker 1: you feel me, And I was just doing what I
- 4:51Speaker 1: knew work did. They was just fun and whatever I
- 4:54Speaker 1: wanted to do, you know what I'm saying. So I
- 4:55Speaker 1: was like, I really ain't had no reasons to sign
- 4:58Speaker 1: to a major because like they was, you know, I
- 5:02Speaker 1: had I had like being oars with like other labels
- 5:05Speaker 1: and stuff like that, like major labels. You know what
- 5:08Speaker 1: I'm saying. Guys, you know was able was willing to
- 5:11Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, talk to them same numbers,
- 5:13Speaker 1: but staying independent and I was getting mold. I was like,
- 5:16Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, Can you tell us who
- 5:17Speaker 1: was like number two you were considering? Oh? I think
- 5:22Speaker 1: it was it was It was it was hardball between
- 5:25Speaker 1: like Republican or Republican. Y republic I mean, I mean
- 5:31Speaker 1: Republican is like the Superstar label. Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Was there ever any discussions about you going over to
- 5:40Speaker 1: ovo at all or yeah we had. It was just
- 5:43Speaker 1: it was discussions. It was it was discussions. It was
- 5:45Speaker 1: like a theme for for a minute, something you were
- 5:48Speaker 1: seriously considering. Yeah, yeah, yeah I was. I was considered it.
- 5:52Speaker 1: I feel like it, it could have happened, you know
- 5:54Speaker 1: what I'm saying. It was just like, uh, you know,
- 5:57Speaker 1: but I just used When I used to talk to
- 5:59Speaker 1: Drake about it, he was like he he ain't even
- 6:01Speaker 1: really used the pressure, but he was like, man, I
- 6:02Speaker 1: love you know what I'm saying, love to have you
- 6:04Speaker 1: over here. He was just like, I just want you
- 6:06Speaker 1: to uh you know a lot of stuff and they
- 6:10Speaker 1: start opening up to you, you know what I'm saying,
- 6:13Speaker 1: and uh, you know, basically just telling me he already
- 6:17Speaker 1: know like all the lad was going to be coming
- 6:20Speaker 1: at me and stuff like that, and to just kind
- 6:23Speaker 1: of like just wait because you know me, I was
- 6:25Speaker 1: fresh out there, like I'm gonna sign you know, you
- 6:28Speaker 1: get a crazy advance with a crazy bag type. But
- 6:31Speaker 1: I was able to, uh just do what was right
- 6:35Speaker 1: for my career for real, like that children Drake like
- 6:38Speaker 1: make an official offer. No, No, they never did. I
- 6:41Speaker 1: never really After he said that, I never really like
- 6:44Speaker 1: pressed on it for really you know what I'm saying.
- 6:46Speaker 1: I never really pressed on it, So it was like
- 6:51Speaker 1: just a conversation of like quick conversation. Uh. His team
- 6:56Speaker 1: was just like, you know what I'm saying. When you
- 6:58Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, let us know for you side
- 7:03Speaker 1: your deal, just like kind of communicate with us and
- 7:06Speaker 1: just let us know so we can, you know what
- 7:08Speaker 1: I'm saying, have a chance to talk things over with you.
- 7:10Speaker 1: And so it was kind of like just helpful, like
- 7:13Speaker 1: just steer me, steer me, uh through the whole process
- 7:18Speaker 1: right there. What I really just trying to make me
- 7:20Speaker 1: side to them kind of give you some big hommy advice, Yeah,
- 7:23Speaker 1: for sure, him and his team or Morgan. I think
- 7:26Speaker 1: Morgan over there for sure. Do you feel like you
- 7:30Speaker 1: get enough credit when it comes to kind of like
- 7:32Speaker 1: kicking off a lot of the ship is hot right now?
- 7:34Speaker 1: Like I feel like you've been doing this, this this
- 7:37Speaker 1: singing and love shit for before a lot of people. Yeah,
- 7:41Speaker 1: because people look at you as a new artist, but
- 7:43Speaker 1: you're you're really not a new artist. You've been putting
- 7:45Speaker 1: in work for like the last seven or eight years,
- 7:47Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. Do you feel like you
- 7:49Speaker 1: get the flowers you deserve when it comes to kind
- 7:52Speaker 1: of doing a lot of this ship before everybody else.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Uh No, I don't feel like I get the you
- 7:57Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, the the the flowers like through
- 8:03Speaker 1: like the media and stuff like that. I feel like
- 8:05Speaker 1: it shows when you go out into the real world.
- 8:07Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, when you go out in
- 8:08Speaker 1: the real world, Like Internet don't matter, you know what
- 8:11Speaker 1: I'm saying when it come to packing out a club,
- 8:14Speaker 1: like none of this stuff matters, TikTok, don't matter that
- 8:17Speaker 1: none of this stuff matters. It's about catalog and have
- 8:23Speaker 1: you been through these trenches before, you know what I'm saying.
- 8:25Speaker 1: So it kind of shows when I go out in
- 8:28Speaker 1: person towards then you know what I'm saying on the
- 8:32Speaker 1: internet for real? What about from your peers, because like
- 8:34Speaker 1: I feel like obviously Meek tapped in early, Drake is
- 8:37Speaker 1: tapped in. Like I think I think a lot of
- 8:39Speaker 1: people within the industry at least who have been tapped
- 8:41Speaker 1: in kind of know if you know, you know, I mean,
- 8:43Speaker 1: even people like who just love music, who's just done
- 8:46Speaker 1: their research on me. I feel like that's why I've
- 8:48Speaker 1: been able to do like collab with more people that
- 8:53Speaker 1: people probably just feel like it's too early in my
- 8:56Speaker 1: career to collab with I feel like that's kind of
- 9:00Speaker 1: know why because they see why, you know what I'm saying,
- 9:03Speaker 1: how far it came and just how far my roots
- 9:07Speaker 1: go into music. You know what I'm saying. It make
- 9:10Speaker 1: you want to work with me. So I feel like
- 9:13Speaker 1: some of the people like that may work at like uh,
- 9:17Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. The companies and stuff like
- 9:19Speaker 1: that don't really know. But the people who tapped in
- 9:22Speaker 1: the music industry, they really they really know. And I
- 9:24Speaker 1: feel like you're also tapping in with young artists like
- 9:27Speaker 1: I know, I saw you tapping with the Honey from
- 9:29Speaker 1: Tampa Taliban Duda. What is it like? First of all,
- 9:34Speaker 1: we talked about this last time, Like you come from
- 9:36Speaker 1: the school of boozy, so you are if you're in
- 9:38Speaker 1: the city. I don't know anymore. But at the point
- 9:40Speaker 1: in time, if you at your bag right, you could
- 9:43Speaker 1: pull up on blue and get your get you get
- 9:45Speaker 1: your get your issue. You know what I'm saying. But
- 9:48Speaker 1: when it comes to like you know, like when we
- 9:50Speaker 1: see you on other people's records, like like is it
- 9:53Speaker 1: something that you have to want to do at this point,
- 9:55Speaker 1: or are you still like, hey, look if the price
- 9:56Speaker 1: is right, I'm on that thing. Uh yeah, it's really
- 9:59Speaker 1: somebody had to to do for like right now, you
- 10:02Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. And then but it's still I
- 10:05Speaker 1: still get the bag doing it. But it's like, you know,
- 10:07Speaker 1: I'd have been offered to be on a lot of
- 10:09Speaker 1: records that I just passed on, you know what I'm saying,
- 10:12Speaker 1: just because it probably just makes sense for me, you know,
- 10:18Speaker 1: not anything against the artists and nothing like that. It
- 10:21Speaker 1: just it adn't really make sense what I have going on.
- 10:23Speaker 1: And then I'm really backed up on stuff right now,
- 10:25Speaker 1: Like I'm so backed up on features and it's stuff
- 10:29Speaker 1: that I just don't want to over. Like I'm talking
- 10:32Speaker 1: about features from big artists, you know what I'm saying.
- 10:34Speaker 1: When you just had the Future come out with was
- 10:36Speaker 1: it with her? Yeah? Yeah, which is fucking crazy. I
- 10:40Speaker 1: saw that happen like on Twitter, right yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 10:44Speaker 1: it's dope to see like the fruit. Will you see
- 10:47Speaker 1: that that happened? You reply? And then the song comes out? Yeah?
- 10:51Speaker 1: Now for sure. I feel like everybody I ever hit
- 10:54Speaker 1: up then hit me back like everybody ever, like tweet
- 10:57Speaker 1: everybody that I went after, like you know, saying, then
- 11:01Speaker 1: hit me bag and just got with me. Like I
- 11:04Speaker 1: feel like that's why everything just be natural? Had everything
- 11:08Speaker 1: with her go down? Did she just send you a
- 11:09Speaker 1: record or was it something studio? So you guys actually
- 11:12Speaker 1: got in together. Yeah, we made like four workers. That's amazing.
- 11:16Speaker 1: That's very rare nowadays. Yeah, for sure. Usually it's like, yo,
- 11:20Speaker 1: here's the m P. Three is an open thing. Do
- 11:22Speaker 1: what you do on and send the back. Yeah, I
- 11:24Speaker 1: rather wait before do that because I just be like,
- 11:26Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, I'm more of a creative
- 11:28Speaker 1: special when it's the artist like that. I like to
- 11:30Speaker 1: get in and like feel feel vibe and stuff like that.
- 11:33Speaker 1: So you guys got four records. Yeah, I don't think
- 11:37Speaker 1: all of them coming out though, I just know we
- 11:39Speaker 1: cut We cut four records. She chose one for her
- 11:41Speaker 1: album and I chose one for MA. So she's on
- 11:44Speaker 1: the album. That's big man. What was her process like?
- 11:46Speaker 1: And like, like, because I feel like you're do you
- 11:49Speaker 1: do you do the melody first, then put you in
- 11:52Speaker 1: the lyrics like like you know what I'm saying, I
- 11:54Speaker 1: do I do I write the lyrics in the mirror?
- 11:57Speaker 1: I mean I do the lyrics in the middle of
- 11:58Speaker 1: at the same time, I just don't know mic and
- 12:00Speaker 1: just go so with the Paradise song. Uh. It was
- 12:04Speaker 1: just more like I was already working on the idea
- 12:06Speaker 1: when she walked in the studio feeling and when she
- 12:09Speaker 1: walked in, all kind of was like, we're just finna
- 12:12Speaker 1: just go to the next song, like we're on so first,
- 12:14Speaker 1: but she was like, Oh, I liked I like that.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Finish that. So I just started finishing and then we
- 12:19Speaker 1: just got the collab and working on it. Who is
- 12:22Speaker 1: somebody who has tapped in with you that we might
- 12:25Speaker 1: not expect because I feel like like musically you're in
- 12:28Speaker 1: a different pocket than a lot of new, up and
- 12:29Speaker 1: coming artists, So there might be some some interesting people
- 12:32Speaker 1: reaching out. Man. I'm sure you might even have a
- 12:34Speaker 1: feature on the way from from somebody we might not expect. Yeah,
- 12:38Speaker 1: even a lot of even a lot of artis reaching out,
- 12:40Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. There's been a lot of
- 12:41Speaker 1: artists that I reached out to. There's reaching bit, you
- 12:43Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Like, Uh, I think I think
- 12:46Speaker 1: I was just uh bullshit. The other day just uh
- 12:51Speaker 1: on Twitter, just write NICKI. I just like, man, you
- 12:56Speaker 1: know what I thought it was? Yeah. I was like, uh,
- 13:00Speaker 1: I fucked with you because I do with her? Of
- 13:02Speaker 1: course she's yeah. I was like, I ain't just saying that.
- 13:07Speaker 1: I ain't just saying that because we should do a record,
- 13:08Speaker 1: even though we should have. And then like a couple
- 13:13Speaker 1: of minutes later like she had liked it and followed
- 13:15Speaker 1: me on I g yeah, she had hit me up.
- 13:19Speaker 1: The next day, was like send me something so you know,
- 13:22Speaker 1: so you guys have have had some d ms. You
- 13:24Speaker 1: and Nikki. It was like, yeah, we said, did you
- 13:28Speaker 1: send her a record? Uh? I sent her some ideas. Uh.
- 13:32Speaker 1: She said she gonna She said she gonna get back
- 13:34Speaker 1: with me. So I don't know if it's gonna happen
- 13:36Speaker 1: or not. Uh but I don't know. Kind of just
- 13:40Speaker 1: me kind of just from the eyside looking in, I
- 13:43Speaker 1: feel like she gonna do it because I don't even
- 13:46Speaker 1: think she even waste her time, you know what I'm saying,
- 13:48Speaker 1: hitting back and she want to go. Yeah, I don't
- 13:50Speaker 1: feel like nik I don't feel like Nikki is hitting
- 13:51Speaker 1: everybody back. Yeah, you feel I feel I know damn
- 13:55Speaker 1: you and tell you to send you something. She don't
- 13:56Speaker 1: fuck with you, bro. Yeah, so I'm hopefully hopefully that
- 14:00Speaker 1: the thing like either way, you know what I'm saying,
- 14:01Speaker 1: I mess with a tough So it's crazy you got
- 14:03Speaker 1: such an ill tone, Like I feel like I want
- 14:06Speaker 1: to hear you with Like I feel like I want
- 14:09Speaker 1: to hear you on some like ship with would give
- 14:10Speaker 1: it on or something like. I feel like you guys
- 14:12Speaker 1: have like like yeah, a lot of things, a lot
- 14:15Speaker 1: of things and already like, oh, is that something that's happening.
- 14:19Speaker 1: I mean, it's like, it's just just I threw that
- 14:23Speaker 1: out there. By the way, I had no idea you
- 14:27Speaker 1: consider yourself more of an R and B artist or
- 14:29Speaker 1: a hip hop artist. I feel like right now I'm
- 14:31Speaker 1: more over the orders right now, I feel like I'm
- 14:33Speaker 1: just an artist overall. But I feel like right now
- 14:35Speaker 1: I'm just playing that pocket like no Tiller when I
- 14:38Speaker 1: ever bunced back though, because I just you know, like
- 14:40Speaker 1: I said, I just do every type of music however
- 14:43Speaker 1: I feel. But right now I'm kind of riding that
- 14:46Speaker 1: pocket right now for sure. So I know you're in
- 14:49Speaker 1: the bay. You linked with hit Maker, right he produced
- 14:52Speaker 1: baddest Chris Brown's on the Hook, which is, in my opinion,
- 14:57Speaker 1: the most talented artist alive. Yeah. He can ball you
- 15:01Speaker 1: up on the basketball court, he can paint a mirror
- 15:04Speaker 1: on you on your fucking wall. He can act, he
- 15:08Speaker 1: can sing, and and I'm pretty sure he can fight. Yeah.
- 15:12Speaker 1: But but how like, like like give me the process,
- 15:15Speaker 1: Like how did how did Chris Brown end up coming
- 15:17Speaker 1: together on the song? Uh? That was something just play
- 15:20Speaker 1: hit make put together. You know what I'm saying. I
- 15:22Speaker 1: came in. The hook was already Uh, the hook was
- 15:25Speaker 1: the want I already wrote. They do that. I wrote
- 15:28Speaker 1: the hook while we was in the studio, and then
- 15:31Speaker 1: I did the verses and then uh Berg sent it off. Yeah,
- 15:35Speaker 1: he sent it off and Bro got on it. But
- 15:38Speaker 1: after that, you know what I'm saying, we kind of
- 15:40Speaker 1: like he became cool. Yeah, how was the video shoot?
- 15:44Speaker 1: I know you shot the videos like last week. It
- 15:46Speaker 1: was cool. It was cool. It was it was cool
- 15:48Speaker 1: guy in person. Yeah, I supposed to be put it
- 15:50Speaker 1: up on the night. So you know what I'm saying,
- 15:52Speaker 1: We just keep keeping the vib going, do some more records, man, Yeah,
- 15:56Speaker 1: like just I already be like the press press the
- 15:59Speaker 1: music be like to start with the you know what
- 16:01Speaker 1: I'm saying, just the friendship relationships. I know the music
- 16:06Speaker 1: is gonna be easy that Yeah, if you guys are cool, Yeah,
- 16:08Speaker 1: that's the easy sometimes just talking about ideas and just
- 16:11Speaker 1: talking about you know what I'm saying, Uh yeah, just
- 16:14Speaker 1: the creative space in general. You feel me. I feel
- 16:17Speaker 1: like the last time I saw you, you had to
- 16:19Speaker 1: rush home because you were having a newborn baby. Is
- 16:22Speaker 1: that right? Yeah? How's the baby? Oh? He good? He good?
- 16:26Speaker 1: He good? He good? Is a baby walking yet? Crawling? Nah?
- 16:29Speaker 1: He he trying to cry? He like he wanted to cry,
- 16:32Speaker 1: but he ain't really crying yet. Yeah, that's the worst.
- 16:34Speaker 1: When they started crawling, and then about them bumming their
- 16:37Speaker 1: head on the coffee table, he rolling over out the
- 16:40Speaker 1: bed and ship? Yeah, has he rolled off the bed yet? Yeah? Right,
- 16:44Speaker 1: you feel like he's gonna die. That's happened to me
- 16:46Speaker 1: with my baby. He rolled off the bed. I fucking
- 16:49Speaker 1: I felt terrible. Yeah. I was like, they're gonna do
- 16:51Speaker 1: the baby gonna bump their head? I bump my ship?
- 16:55Speaker 1: Have you? I feel like at a certain point in time,
- 16:58Speaker 1: most young artists ended up moving to l A. I
- 17:00Speaker 1: know you were in Mississippi kind of out the way, Like,
- 17:03Speaker 1: have you gotten a spot out here? Like you're still
- 17:05Speaker 1: kind of out the way. I'm still I'm still out
- 17:07Speaker 1: the way. I'm in Georgia. Nothing but yeah, I ain't
- 17:10Speaker 1: got a spell U. Yeah you're here a lot though. Yeah,
- 17:13Speaker 1: I've been here a lot recently just because I was
- 17:15Speaker 1: working on my album. Yeah, this is where it's at
- 17:19Speaker 1: for sure. Give me your like R and B top three?
- 17:21Speaker 1: Who's your top three R and B artists all time?
- 17:23Speaker 1: Man like yours, not not who you think everyone else
- 17:25Speaker 1: will like, like your personal favorites. Uh hm, I feel
- 17:32Speaker 1: like you know what I'm saying. Just R Kelly. You
- 17:35Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. Shout out to R Kelly. We
- 17:37Speaker 1: got hey, can we get it? We can? We can?
- 17:38Speaker 1: We just I just want to give R. Kelly flowers.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Yes he is not a good human being, but he
- 17:44Speaker 1: fucking is the greatest of all time. Nobody wants it
- 17:47Speaker 1: in the versus nobody. You know what I'm saying. Let
- 17:52Speaker 1: me see uh I want can I say? Can I
- 17:55Speaker 1: see them? Michael Michael Michael Jackson, R and B another
- 18:02Speaker 1: quite possibly not great human being, but great artists you
- 18:05Speaker 1: know what I mean. So far we're two for three
- 18:08Speaker 1: on uh yeah, and on the Toxic Guys and uh
- 18:15Speaker 1: let me see, let me see R and B or
- 18:18Speaker 1: B or Michael Jackson's probably more popped out, to be fair,
- 18:22Speaker 1: I feel like, you know, I feel like who a
- 18:24Speaker 1: lot of people sleep on that really really joy is
- 18:29Speaker 1: part of next Door. Oh party is one of the
- 18:31Speaker 1: best riders the last like twenty five years. Yeah, love
- 18:34Speaker 1: for sure? For sure? Yeah not. His penn game is ridiculous.
- 18:36Speaker 1: What's your favorite? Say three though, say you know out there? Sure?
- 18:43Speaker 1: Uh for sure, Like yeah, it's it's it's it's a few.
- 18:48Speaker 1: What's your favorite R. Kelly album? Double Up? Double Up?
- 18:52Speaker 1: Yeah wait, double up? Yeah? Yeah yeah that Jungle. Feel
- 19:00Speaker 1: like I feel like the generic answer is always twelve Play. Yeah,
- 19:03Speaker 1: I ain't. I don't think I never heard you never
- 19:06Speaker 1: heard twelve play? Oh? Man? What I just go through
- 19:11Speaker 1: on right now? I just know all these songs, but
- 19:13Speaker 1: I ain't I ain't ever just the double album are yeah, man,
- 19:20Speaker 1: that's probably far as I go back. Yeah, man, half
- 19:24Speaker 1: on a Baby, Damn, that's crazy. What's something you've learned
- 19:30Speaker 1: man in the last like seven or eight months? Ever,
- 19:32Speaker 1: Like like since you've gotten the number one record, like
- 19:34Speaker 1: something you've learned about yourself or just maybe how to
- 19:37Speaker 1: maneuver differently, Like what's because you, like I said, you're
- 19:40Speaker 1: not like a new artist, you've been through a lot,
- 19:41Speaker 1: But like, what's something you've learned with the new found
- 19:43Speaker 1: fame and the new level of success. I don't feel
- 19:48Speaker 1: like you know what I'm saying. I really feel like
- 19:51Speaker 1: I don't know. I really feel like you know what
- 19:53Speaker 1: I'm saying. It's exactly how you know what I'm saying.
- 19:55Speaker 1: I thought it was gonna be. You know what I'm saying.
- 19:58Speaker 1: I feel like I just I am trying to move different,
- 20:00Speaker 1: trying to go a little different with my career. Uh,
- 20:03Speaker 1: Like I said, like I'm trying to be like a
- 20:05Speaker 1: touring artist, like a hard ticke. It's hard to pass
- 20:08Speaker 1: up those brown bags though. Yeah, you feel me, But
- 20:11Speaker 1: that's why my situation is so good, because like I
- 20:14Speaker 1: couldn't at first because I was made label not making
- 20:17Speaker 1: a lot of money. You feel me on our music,
- 20:19Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, But with them probably so
- 20:21Speaker 1: I make a lot of money off just music. You
- 20:24Speaker 1: feel me, So I don't really have to do that.
- 20:25Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, so I can focus on
- 20:28Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, Adam's focused on. I feel
- 20:29Speaker 1: like that's why I got uh, you know, just in
- 20:34Speaker 1: a good in a good place where I could just
- 20:36Speaker 1: do other stuff and put my injuries to other stuff. Uh. Hey,
- 20:41Speaker 1: interrupting the interview to tell you about our good friends

- 21:43Speaker 1: getting his piece. Yeah. Yeah, I said I got three
- 21:45Speaker 1: more I got three more projects, like you know what
- 21:47Speaker 1: I'm saying. And the boost it like people just keep
- 21:51Speaker 1: like just missing just so be so tired to just
- 21:55Speaker 1: explain it. But I have, uh like uh just stated
- 22:02Speaker 1: once before that you know, the situation is a custom situation,
- 22:06Speaker 1: Like I think you might have stated that here before. Yeah,
- 22:09Speaker 1: like yeah, for real, It's like it's not like people
- 22:13Speaker 1: when people say you could still honor something and not
- 22:17Speaker 1: be because Okay, if I sit here and say that
- 22:20Speaker 1: the contract Boosy, me and the Boosting negotiated, he said,
- 22:30Speaker 1: I'm gonna sign I was finna sign a deal with Empire.
- 22:32Speaker 1: I was gonna go get you know what I'm saying,
- 22:34Speaker 1: a bigger bag. You feeling like that? And I said, okay,
- 22:39Speaker 1: we had three more albums left in the contract. You
- 22:42Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. So he still get those three albums.
- 22:46Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, He still get those three albums.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Like I said, he still make money. You feel me?
- 22:52Speaker 1: I saw you just post like a compilation of funny
- 22:54Speaker 1: Boosy moments. Yeah, Like Boosy is like the funniest motherfucker
- 22:59Speaker 1: like quite possibly in him pop history. What is like
- 23:02Speaker 1: the funniest ship you've ever like witness in person with Boosy?
- 23:05Speaker 1: Because it's just I've been around him and like I
- 23:08Speaker 1: just feel like I feel like, I know he tried
- 23:10Speaker 1: to do the reality TV show thing, and I thought
- 23:11Speaker 1: it should have been a lot bigger, but like he
- 23:13Speaker 1: is probably the most entertaining person. Yeah, you don't even
- 23:18Speaker 1: really have no favorite favorite moment. Like you know what
- 23:21Speaker 1: I'm saying. Boost is just fun and like people like
- 23:23Speaker 1: Boost are really like you know what I'm saying, or real, bro,
- 23:26Speaker 1: I just hate when people be like just taking my
- 23:28Speaker 1: words and like, for real, though people know so much lessens,
- 23:32Speaker 1: people know so little about deals and stuff like that
- 23:35Speaker 1: that I just the easiest thing for me to say
- 23:39Speaker 1: is yeah, I'm still signing a BOOST. You feel me?
- 23:42Speaker 1: Of course, because if I break it down for real,
- 23:44Speaker 1: you the person not even gonna understand what I'm even saying.
- 23:48Speaker 1: You feel they just be like, oh he trying to
- 23:49Speaker 1: say he's signed a Boost. Yeah, I'm still signing Boost.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Like I said, it's always bad worried when you when
- 23:54Speaker 1: you find out he got shot man because that was
- 23:56Speaker 1: rough man. I talked to him right after that, so
- 23:58Speaker 1: I knew he was good. Like world, you know what
- 24:00Speaker 1: I'm saying, Like I said, I'm close to Booster. So
- 24:03Speaker 1: when you see shit like that happen, because we've seen
- 24:04Speaker 1: a lot of people get hit, like recently, you know,
- 24:06Speaker 1: Benny the Butcher and you know a lot of people
- 24:08Speaker 1: if you know, fortunately, I feel like, you know, Jim
- 24:11Speaker 1: Jones said this recently that being an artist is one
- 24:14Speaker 1: of the most dangerous jobs in the world. Does that
- 24:17Speaker 1: kind of you know, I feel like you have to
- 24:21Speaker 1: kind of take notes and like move differently, right, Yeah,
- 24:23Speaker 1: I feel I'm like, I ain't really never thought I
- 24:26Speaker 1: have to be you know what I'm saying roller Like
- 24:28Speaker 1: I'm rolling, But you know, you just it just come
- 24:30Speaker 1: with it, man, because some people just don't you know,
- 24:33Speaker 1: some people don't think logical, you feel me, They just
- 24:37Speaker 1: especially when they see an artist, it's like a button
- 24:40Speaker 1: just click. You just you know what I'm saying. So
- 24:44Speaker 1: you just got to be protected men. Yeah, they can't
- 24:46Speaker 1: watch it. You can't watch everything all the time. You
- 24:48Speaker 1: think about like pop smoke like it wouldn't even know
- 24:51Speaker 1: it was like a kid you saw where he was
- 24:53Speaker 1: that on Instagram, some kids from the hood, and they
- 24:55Speaker 1: rolled up on him and like that could happen to anybody. Yeah,
- 24:58Speaker 1: so you know that came in mind, and it came
- 25:01Speaker 1: up in my lbnb before it came while you were
- 25:04Speaker 1: there recently. Nope, I want that though. So just I
- 25:07Speaker 1: had just left, like I had just left that morning,
- 25:10Speaker 1: and I just had left randomly too. I just like
- 25:13Speaker 1: I had just got up cause I'll posted like two
- 25:15Speaker 1: more days. Well, uh, I had just left. When I
- 25:19Speaker 1: got up in the morning, I was like, I'm going
- 25:20Speaker 1: to go home with my kids before I go to Africa.
- 25:24Speaker 1: I just wanted to see my kids. I had just
- 25:25Speaker 1: got out that morning, just booked the flight and DIP
- 25:29Speaker 1: and uh I had booked the flight of dip and uh.
- 25:33Speaker 1: So you left and then right after you left, some
- 25:35Speaker 1: people ran up in the airbnb you were at. Yeah,
- 25:38Speaker 1: was anybody there, Yeah, my manager and my artist was there.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Did they get robbed or what. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 25:44Speaker 1: oh wow they're they're good though. Yeah, they're straight. It's great.
- 25:47Speaker 1: That's great. Like that's crazy because you never know how
- 25:50Speaker 1: they could have found out you were there. Yeah, they
- 25:52Speaker 1: could you know what else too. We was just we
- 25:54Speaker 1: was hot born. I ain't gonna lie. We was hoping.
- 25:56Speaker 1: We was there for like weeks, you know what I'm saying,
- 25:59Speaker 1: doing la have a house pulled ship like that, just
- 26:03Speaker 1: just just not maybe not moving the smartest, yeah, not
- 26:07Speaker 1: moving the smart but you know, we had security and
- 26:08Speaker 1: stuff over there, but they came in like two of them.
- 26:10Speaker 1: It don't matter, Yeah, it don't matter. Yeah, that's crazy.
- 26:14Speaker 1: So obviously you learn from that. Yeah, because I feel
- 26:17Speaker 1: like it's kind of been bad man. Yeah. I feel
- 26:19Speaker 1: like if if I would, like, you know, shid knowing me,
- 26:23Speaker 1: I probably probably I wouldn't even say, like I'm just
- 26:25Speaker 1: rambowing them, but I already know like how I sleep,
- 26:29Speaker 1: you feel me. It probably would have been a shootout,
- 26:31Speaker 1: but you never know, like who would have worn to shootout,
- 26:33Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, Because that was out here.
- 26:36Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I feel so. Yeah, you know it's crazy
- 26:39Speaker 1: too with these airbnbs, is like everybody using the same
- 26:43Speaker 1: same ones, So all you got to see is one
- 26:45Speaker 1: little sliver on someone's story and if you know, you
- 26:48Speaker 1: know where that one is. Because every rapper, every artist,
- 26:51Speaker 1: there's only a certain amount of Airbnbs in the hills
- 26:54Speaker 1: and like, yeah, man, be shipped. That's that's crazy. Thank
- 26:59Speaker 1: god you When I saw your kids, you know what
- 27:00Speaker 1: I'm saying. Talk about your trip to Africa. I saw
- 27:03Speaker 1: you went out there with Gazi and Nima and it
- 27:07Speaker 1: looked crazy, man, I mean it looked I heard. Did
- 27:09Speaker 1: you go with them? Nima told me the story about
- 27:12Speaker 1: how they went to the Nigerian Prince's house or like
- 27:15Speaker 1: the king. Okay, yeah, he told me, like yo, we
- 27:17Speaker 1: had to bow and like kiss the floor and ship.
- 27:21Speaker 1: I ain't go with them. But how was your trip
- 27:23Speaker 1: to Africa? Man? It was good, It was good. But
- 27:25Speaker 1: their first time? Yeah that was my first time period.
- 27:28Speaker 1: How would you describe it? Because like you know, we
- 27:30Speaker 1: always hear about going to Africa and they looked beautiful. Yeah,
- 27:34Speaker 1: it's different. Like I said, it's uh, you know, they
- 27:38Speaker 1: got they you know what I'm saying. They bad spots,
- 27:40Speaker 1: but they got some spots that looked you know what
- 27:42Speaker 1: I'm saying, just like America, you know what I'm saying,
- 27:45Speaker 1: because you're like a big city, you know what I'm saying,
- 27:47Speaker 1: got like two people. So it was good. It was
- 27:51Speaker 1: a good experience. It was a way different experience than
- 27:53Speaker 1: being in America, of course. And they gonna run them
- 27:59Speaker 1: pockets when you get over there though, right right right
- 28:01Speaker 1: right in the pocket. They know you a tool, they
- 28:05Speaker 1: know you tipping or they yeah, they you got tip
- 28:09Speaker 1: do everything. Like you know what I'm saying. Going through
- 28:11Speaker 1: the airport, right, I really don't even know if I
- 28:14Speaker 1: would have made it over there without like just knowing
- 28:16Speaker 1: people there tell you like I don't get there. Yeah, no,
- 28:20Speaker 1: just I'm just saying, like, just you gotta have like
- 28:24Speaker 1: you gotta know somebody who was in there, tell you
- 28:26Speaker 1: what's going on, yeah, because it's like it's what was like, like,
- 28:30Speaker 1: did you out there just to go out there to do?
- 28:32Speaker 1: I know you shot a video there, right yeah? Yeah,
- 28:34Speaker 1: I shot a video with Da Vito, And I was
- 28:36Speaker 1: just going to miss with like you know what I'm saying,
- 28:37Speaker 1: pulling up on it, you know what I'm saying. The
- 28:39Speaker 1: video I heard that they out there they call him David.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Oh though but in the US, we like a king.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Oh he's that guy. Yeah, there's uh, what's the other
- 28:49Speaker 1: guy's name. I'm interviewing fireboy tomorrow. They start, uh, they
- 28:56Speaker 1: start when they see the Vito, they start clapping, like
- 29:00Speaker 1: did they know who you are? In Africa? Yeah? Yeah,
- 29:03Speaker 1: they knew, they knew. It was it was crazy, like
- 29:06Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, I ain't even know they
- 29:08Speaker 1: was gonna really know me like that. Like it was.
- 29:10Speaker 1: It was Is that the first time you've been out
- 29:12Speaker 1: of the US and saw like you have fans all
- 29:14Speaker 1: over the world. Uh if if I'm not counting the Bahamas,
- 29:18Speaker 1: because I've been to that was the only other place
- 29:20Speaker 1: out the country I went in that that everybody knew me,
- 29:22Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So the Bahamas in Africa, Yeah,
- 29:26Speaker 1: Bahamas a vibe. Yeah yeah, Bahamas in Africa. But I
- 29:30Speaker 1: ain't never been though, so they probably not know. I
- 29:32Speaker 1: got a lot of fans from London. I got a
- 29:34Speaker 1: lot of fans in Europe and the UK and stuff
- 29:36Speaker 1: like that. And now that because COVID shit is over,
- 29:38Speaker 1: you should be you should be able to get around
- 29:40Speaker 1: a little bit more. And like I said, I'm just
- 29:41Speaker 1: trying to tour like two times a year and do
- 29:43Speaker 1: a uh one international tour too. Would you would you
- 29:46Speaker 1: be down? Like, I'm sure, hell the people have been
- 29:48Speaker 1: hitting you probably open up some of these bigger tours coming.
- 29:52Speaker 1: Have those conversations happen. Uh yeah, But I just wanted
- 29:55Speaker 1: to do my own tour because I was like, you
- 29:57Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, I'm just ready to be about
- 29:59Speaker 1: I'm just better to be of my own, my own
- 30:03Speaker 1: hard ticket history. You know what I'm saying. I got
- 30:06Speaker 1: that's how you build up those hardcore fans. Yeah, you
- 30:08Speaker 1: feel I want to I want to go ahead and
- 30:11Speaker 1: do that. No, that's that's I think that's the way. Then,
- 30:14Speaker 1: like maybe next year or something, you maybe do like
- 30:16Speaker 1: the Chris Brown or Drake tour. Yeah. Any other records
- 30:20Speaker 1: with anybody else on the album you could talk about?
- 30:23Speaker 1: Oh I got uh I got a record with John Legend?
- 30:31Speaker 1: Wait wait wait wait, you got a record with John Legends? Yeah? Yeah, okay,
- 30:40Speaker 1: it's actually my intro. You got John Legend on the intro?
- 30:46Speaker 1: Wait a minute, how the fun did that happen? Who
- 30:52Speaker 1: reached out to who I reached out? I reached out
- 30:56Speaker 1: to his team and they just did it? They just
- 31:00Speaker 1: did he hit you in your pockets for it? And
- 31:02Speaker 1: you do? I don't really know because I don't handle that.
- 31:06Speaker 1: You're gonna find out when you see the statement. But
- 31:10Speaker 1: I think you know another thing like that, I don't
- 31:14Speaker 1: really think it's about the money's like legend on the
- 31:17Speaker 1: intro to your album? Yeah, did you talk to him
- 31:19Speaker 1: like like meet? I ain't never even talking I ain't
- 31:21Speaker 1: know you talked to him like that. I ain't never
- 31:23Speaker 1: even talking to Wow? All right, continue? Who else? Uh?
- 31:31Speaker 1: We've established hers on the album, Big Big Shaan's on
- 31:35Speaker 1: the album obviously, Chris Brown, the Two Chains, Chris Brow,
- 31:44Speaker 1: obviously Drake. Uh No, no, okay, I'm just I'm trying.
- 31:50Speaker 1: I'm fishing you see Floyd Bailey Okay? Uh the Veto Yeah,
- 31:58Speaker 1: that pretty I think they're pretty much it, working on
- 32:00Speaker 1: working on what's the name of the album? If you have?
- 32:02Speaker 1: Is that out yet? Uh? I ended up probably about time?
- 32:06Speaker 1: When if you drop? When are you gonna tell next week? Like? Uh,
- 32:12Speaker 1: I ain't I want to announce it with the album
- 32:14Speaker 1: I want all right, But I would say I've been
- 32:18Speaker 1: hitting it. I've been hitting at it for a long time,
- 32:21Speaker 1: like just within my statuses and posts and stuff. I've
- 32:24Speaker 1: just been hitting that it's gonna be like investments part
- 32:28Speaker 1: whatever the fuck that's over. That came to a conclusion. Yeah,
- 32:32Speaker 1: they came to a a conclusion. Yeah that's crazy, man. Well look,
- 32:36Speaker 1: it's good to see you winning. Bro. I always tell
- 32:38Speaker 1: any time anybody asked me about you or you know,
- 32:41Speaker 1: Brian SAMs Is like, I'm working them like yo, Blue
- 32:43Speaker 1: is one of the smartest, nicest kids I've met in
- 32:45Speaker 1: the game. Man, for sure. You know you already messed
- 32:48Speaker 1: with and you were grown ass man too. You you've
- 32:50Speaker 1: raised in your family the right way, and you know
- 32:53Speaker 1: you you're handling your business the way you should, Bro.
- 32:56Speaker 1: And you know I think I think uh I and
- 33:00Speaker 1: you for staying independent too. Man, Yeah, for sure, I
- 33:02Speaker 1: got it. You know, I'm just trying to pay pave
- 33:05Speaker 1: out the way. You know what I'm saying, Just show
- 33:07Speaker 1: people like you know, don't believe that narrative that they
- 33:10Speaker 1: try to paint that you can't be this or that
- 33:12Speaker 1: without them, you know, without the machine, aout the machine,
- 33:15Speaker 1: you feel me, because we is the machine. You feel me,
- 33:18Speaker 1: So the artist is the machine. Be clear, y'all have
- 33:20Speaker 1: the leverage bro. Like, that's what I try to tell people,
- 33:23Speaker 1: Like you could take that advance all you want, you
- 33:26Speaker 1: got to pay it back at what rate? Yeah? You
- 33:30Speaker 1: know what I mean. I feel like I feel like
- 33:32Speaker 1: just the game changing. I feel like I'm at the
- 33:34Speaker 1: forefront of just showing people I feel like me my
- 33:37Speaker 1: situation I made. So many people see the independent side
- 33:41Speaker 1: as as like the thing to do. You know what
- 33:43Speaker 1: I'm saying, just because how I've been like maneuvering actually
- 33:50Speaker 1: come in handed, like being independent come in handed. Because
- 33:53Speaker 1: a lot of big artists, you know what I'm saying,
- 33:54Speaker 1: that we want to deal with other big labels. You
- 33:56Speaker 1: know what I'm saying if they already will you know
- 33:58Speaker 1: what I'm saying with a label, right, So being independent
- 34:01Speaker 1: is like you work with who you want. Yeah, like
- 34:03Speaker 1: the like is less easy for them, like they could
- 34:06Speaker 1: just you know what I'm saying. I was gonna say.
- 34:09Speaker 1: You said something earlier that was important that were kind
- 34:11Speaker 1: of glossed over, and that was that you're not having
- 34:14Speaker 1: to go and grab all the bags that you used
- 34:16Speaker 1: to have to grab at the you know, wherever city
- 34:19Speaker 1: we pull up and do the club and shit. But
- 34:21Speaker 1: at the time you're speaking from a perspective of somebody
- 34:23Speaker 1: who's really been through most situations in music. Because you
- 34:28Speaker 1: had a major type situation with Columbia, right, and like
- 34:32Speaker 1: you were saying, you were seeing money off off of
- 34:34Speaker 1: the music, right you had, And this is this is
- 34:38Speaker 1: somebody who has plaques. You have plaques. I had, like
- 34:44Speaker 1: multiple like gold. So that's what I'm saying. And so
- 34:47Speaker 1: for people who don't understand, like most artists that you
- 34:51Speaker 1: see that signed of these major even getting nothing but
- 34:54Speaker 1: of them one hundred and fifty thousand dollars advanced. Yeah,
- 34:57Speaker 1: and how did you not recoup that? Right? That's crazy
- 35:00Speaker 1: off off of how many gold records too? But that's
- 35:02Speaker 1: insane it's within that two years because I don't think
- 35:06Speaker 1: I don't think people understand like when you get that
- 35:09Speaker 1: you sign that record deal, you're gonna get that check, right,
- 35:12Speaker 1: but like from you better make that last or you
- 35:14Speaker 1: better start to build your merch and you're touring and
- 35:17Speaker 1: all this shit, because it's gonna be a while before
- 35:19Speaker 1: you see money from your actual music. That's why a
- 35:22Speaker 1: lot of people just be wondering, like damn, like you
- 35:25Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Like how he doing this? Like
- 35:27Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, get this house, get this
- 35:30Speaker 1: called like. You know what I'm saying. He just got it,
- 35:32Speaker 1: just got in the game, and this was just like
- 35:34Speaker 1: bro likes. It's just different, you feel me. A lot
- 35:38Speaker 1: of people, most of the people that know a record
- 35:40Speaker 1: major record deal is like wanting to get out. You
- 35:43Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. They hate it. Yeah, they hated
- 35:45Speaker 1: half so uh. I just I just feel like it's
- 35:48Speaker 1: just a different, like even even with the major labels thing,
- 35:51Speaker 1: I ain't even you know, I'm not shitting on that situation.
- 35:53Speaker 1: It's just how people structure they did, because you can
- 35:55Speaker 1: have an independuent type situation with a major you know
- 35:58Speaker 1: what I'm saying. People don't. People don't know that. It's
- 36:00Speaker 1: it's all about leverage and lawyers and if you're smart, Yeah,
- 36:03Speaker 1: you feel me, and you're not thirsty to get the
- 36:05Speaker 1: like because a lot of people see that front end
- 36:06Speaker 1: check and like, yeah, I ain't gonna lot like a
- 36:10Speaker 1: million dollars, don't need to be, but what your terms
- 36:12Speaker 1: look like? Yeah, I don't even get excited when I
- 36:15Speaker 1: see deals like two million dollars no more and stuff
- 36:17Speaker 1: like that. Yeah, I mean you went through it like
- 36:19Speaker 1: you said you took a hundred and fifty thousan dollar advance,
- 36:20Speaker 1: you had two gold records, and we're getting thirty five
- 36:22Speaker 1: dollars checks. Yeah, that's crazy. That is crazy, but that
- 36:29Speaker 1: happens to a lot of people. Man. It's really that
- 36:33Speaker 1: you were smart enough to take your money, put it
- 36:34Speaker 1: into investments, and you still got the tour bus that
- 36:37Speaker 1: you ran now yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm using it on
- 36:39Speaker 1: more tour I'm using them. I ain't even been ridden that.
- 36:41Speaker 1: I don't think I never even rented it out. I
- 36:43Speaker 1: just used to just I just used to be like
- 36:46Speaker 1: I'm a rind of that, of that, but it's just
- 36:49Speaker 1: it's just be sitting now. So you tapping in with
- 36:51Speaker 1: any real estate or anything like that. I mean I
- 36:53Speaker 1: just tab to right now, you know what I'm saying,
- 36:55Speaker 1: working on music, Like I'm probably finna get like I'm
- 36:59Speaker 1: finna beill a new piece to my house, like another
- 37:03Speaker 1: off spent like another like one point two to build
- 37:05Speaker 1: me like an entertainment section of my house. Like oh,
- 37:08Speaker 1: you're just gonna never have to leave home. Yeah you
- 37:10Speaker 1: feel me, But I still leave socio. But that's gonna
- 37:13Speaker 1: probably be my first investment property. If I decide to move,
- 37:20Speaker 1: I'm really trying to build to get the person that
- 37:25Speaker 1: built that to bill me like, uh like over the
- 37:28Speaker 1: next five year to build me like, because I feel
- 37:30Speaker 1: like everybody loved that. It's gonna be so easy to
- 37:33Speaker 1: see it because when I posted my house, all the
- 37:35Speaker 1: rappers was in my DM like, man, why will you
- 37:40Speaker 1: got this house? So I feel like if I take
- 37:42Speaker 1: that same like full playing idea and just build like two, three,
- 37:46Speaker 1: four of them houses, you know what I'm saying, I
- 37:48Speaker 1: can sell them easily. What made you want to, like
- 37:51Speaker 1: like get out of your hometown, like get out of Alabama?
- 37:53Speaker 1: Because you know Alabama. I do feel like we've noticed
- 37:57Speaker 1: like a lot of people like when they stay home
- 37:59Speaker 1: usually that's the most hated is you know, I just
- 38:02Speaker 1: wanted to, you know what I'm saying. I just wanted
- 38:04Speaker 1: to see more, you know, see more you feel me,
- 38:07Speaker 1: uh you know thing I beat there sometimes, but I
- 38:11Speaker 1: just wanted to, you know, also stuck somewhere like two years. Also,
- 38:15Speaker 1: it sounds like you're from Miami, Like I'm assuming Alabama's
- 38:18Speaker 1: not the most place. Yeah it's not. It's not. It's
- 38:21Speaker 1: like I did I want to you know a lot
- 38:23Speaker 1: of things that my family, you know what I'm saying
- 38:25Speaker 1: wanted to do is we don't really have you know
- 38:27Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Like, and I stayed like by Atleanta,
- 38:30Speaker 1: so anything I could think of Atlanta right to take
- 38:32Speaker 1: them to the Zoo, the Aquarium, six Flags, Disneyland, but
- 38:36Speaker 1: I mean to say, just Disneyland and like a music
- 38:42Speaker 1: park stuff stuff like that. Anything I want to take
- 38:44Speaker 1: them to. Uh, I could, I could just do it
- 38:46Speaker 1: right there because it's just right there, you feel me, Yeah,
- 38:48Speaker 1: everything's right there. If you're like a two hour flight
- 38:52Speaker 1: to Orlando to go to Disney first case scenario. Yeah.
- 38:55Speaker 1: A lot of times I just like I really just
- 38:57Speaker 1: use my bus for like my family trips and stuff
- 38:59Speaker 1: Like I just get all my siblings. We just get
- 39:01Speaker 1: on the bus and just go like to Disneyland or something.
- 39:04Speaker 1: What are you doing? Like, I feel like you're built
- 39:06Speaker 1: for longevity in this game with the way you're thinking. Shit,
- 39:08Speaker 1: But is that something you consciously think of, like how
- 39:11Speaker 1: how can I be here in ten years? As opposed
- 39:13Speaker 1: to like I do that. I do that. I feel like,
- 39:16Speaker 1: you know, just putting together. That's why I just put
- 39:18Speaker 1: together like this masterpiece project because I feel like once
- 39:21Speaker 1: this project drop, people just gonna realize, like how talented
- 39:25Speaker 1: I am. And like I said, I write and I
- 39:29Speaker 1: feel like I'm just got a you know what I'm saying,
- 39:32Speaker 1: a generational sound because I could do everything. Everybody whoever
- 39:35Speaker 1: encounted me. Every time I got on the phone with labels,
- 39:38Speaker 1: they always say, like, you know what I'm saying, You're
- 39:40Speaker 1: a generational artist. That people just been saying that ever
- 39:43Speaker 1: since I you know what I'm saying, they discovered me.
- 39:47Speaker 1: So I feel like I'm gonna have you know what
- 39:49Speaker 1: I'm saying, a lot of longevity in the game just
- 39:51Speaker 1: because I'm just crazy. I'm just crazy with the pen
- 39:54Speaker 1: or you know, everybody feel like that, you know, you
- 39:58Speaker 1: can start writing for the artists. Uh, I've been. I've
- 40:01Speaker 1: been writing for the artist. I've been right for the artists,
- 40:04Speaker 1: like I get in the studio and just check their
- 40:05Speaker 1: credentials to everyone. Yeah, So anything anything you can talk about,
- 40:12Speaker 1: I just like I can. But I just don't really
- 40:17Speaker 1: be going to because I feel like some art you
- 40:19Speaker 1: know something, it's scared. It's scared of some artists, you
- 40:21Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. Just you know what I'm saying,
- 40:23Speaker 1: talking about it and stuff like that, and me, I
- 40:25Speaker 1: always always believe it like collaborative. I've never been nobody
- 40:28Speaker 1: write for me, Like if you're in the studio with
- 40:31Speaker 1: someone in there and they give you like, of course,
- 40:33Speaker 1: use your pride. Yeah, especially hooks. Like like I said,
- 40:37Speaker 1: I always do my own verses and stuff like that,
- 40:39Speaker 1: but like for like hooks and just ideas and stuff
- 40:42Speaker 1: like that, or you're open to collaborate. Yeah, I'm open
- 40:44Speaker 1: to collaborate. Like I said the Chris Brown song, like
- 40:47Speaker 1: you ain't write none of that, Like the idea was
- 40:49Speaker 1: already up. But I swear on my verse you feel
- 40:52Speaker 1: me and it's a you know what I'm saying. It's
- 40:53Speaker 1: a good song. He's going, yes, killing in the radio
- 40:56Speaker 1: right now. You guys had the first a nice first
- 40:58Speaker 1: couple of weeks of radio independently. Yeah, for sure that
- 41:02Speaker 1: I would like. I was like, man, y'all, damn y'all
- 41:04Speaker 1: doing good. We got two we got two rcords on
- 41:06Speaker 1: the radio. Yeah, good, both of them. Hey, that in
- 41:09Speaker 1: your mind still will not die. Yeah, that's what I
- 41:12Speaker 1: said when I'm telling you before when I made that Rooker,
- 41:14Speaker 1: but I was gonna get ready to put out another
- 41:16Speaker 1: another rookerd You know what I was just telling my team.
- 41:18Speaker 1: I was just like, man, I just want a record
- 41:20Speaker 1: to just go survive, bro, Like, I just want to
- 41:23Speaker 1: work ad this. I want to talk about something that
- 41:25Speaker 1: people gonna feel forever. And it sounds like nothing else
- 41:29Speaker 1: on the radio right now? Yeah, you feel me? So
- 41:31Speaker 1: it's like a whole different vibe. Bro. So, I knew
- 41:34Speaker 1: it was gonna stick once it I knew it was
- 41:35Speaker 1: gonna stick, like one time, once I made. I just
- 41:37Speaker 1: knew it was gonna stick because all my workers before
- 41:40Speaker 1: was always rookers that like stuck, like in the streets,
- 41:43Speaker 1: like in the hearts of like the fans in the
- 41:47Speaker 1: underground world, you know what I'm saying. So I know
- 41:49Speaker 1: I could do that on the mainscreen level. You feel me? So?
- 41:52Speaker 1: You know who I think everybody would love to hear
- 41:54Speaker 1: you work with. It would be someone like Rod Wave.
- 41:56Speaker 1: Is that somebody you would ever? Uh? I know? Rod
- 41:59Speaker 1: Wave seems to be like a very emotional guy. You
- 42:01Speaker 1: know what I'm saying a little erratic on Twitter at times,
- 42:04Speaker 1: but I feel like I feel like fans would love
- 42:07Speaker 1: to see y'all do some shit. Yeah. I feel like
- 42:10Speaker 1: we I mean we used to chop it up, like
- 42:12Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. Since he, you know what
- 42:13Speaker 1: I'm saying, blowed up, we really chalked it doing like that.
- 42:15Speaker 1: But like you know, Roy used to be, like, you
- 42:17Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, a real fan of mine, like
- 42:18Speaker 1: before he even blowed up, Like you could definitely hear
- 42:21Speaker 1: it for sure, Nah, for sure, Like he used to
- 42:23Speaker 1: be like a real fan of mine. So maybe one
- 42:26Speaker 1: day yeah, you know, you know, you know how it is, man,
- 42:29Speaker 1: You know, I don't really but if you go back
- 42:31Speaker 1: to his like he's like his first video with that
- 42:33Speaker 1: heart on ice, like that was I first like met
- 42:36Speaker 1: him at this show. Uh he was over enough for me.
- 42:39Speaker 1: Uh and uh it's camera. Man was trying to get
- 42:43Speaker 1: a little drop for he was doing like a little
- 42:44Speaker 1: promo video, and he was like, man, Blue, do a
- 42:46Speaker 1: drop for artist? No, no, no no, you know what I'm saying.
- 42:48Speaker 1: I got on the camera, Like you know, I messed
- 42:50Speaker 1: with him bro hard stuff like that. So you know,
- 42:54Speaker 1: it's just good to see, you know what I'm saying,
- 42:55Speaker 1: It's just good to see like artists just blow up.
- 42:58Speaker 1: I saw so many artists blow up, you know what
- 43:00Speaker 1: I'm saying. I just saw something of the artists blow up,
- 43:02Speaker 1: like artists that I was messing with tapping it early,
- 43:05Speaker 1: with tapping it early, with just blowing up. You know
- 43:08Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Some of them stay silent, some of
- 43:10Speaker 1: them like, you know what I'm saying, get on there,
- 43:12Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. I ain't never did nothing
- 43:14Speaker 1: to brout, you know what I'm saying. But yeah, sometimes
- 43:16Speaker 1: if it would be like sometimes there be other people
- 43:18Speaker 1: in they are like y'all, so you know what I'm saying,
- 43:21Speaker 1: y'all sound saying you should. You know what I'm saying,
- 43:24Speaker 1: some people be feeling like you know, you know, if
- 43:27Speaker 1: y'all in the same lane, he really don't want to
- 43:29Speaker 1: like work, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, I think
- 43:30Speaker 1: that that's the thing that I would love to see,
- 43:33Speaker 1: like like like you know, like you said, like unfortunately,
- 43:36Speaker 1: I remember he went online and said what he said
- 43:37Speaker 1: about other people singing shit. But it's like, yo, just
- 43:39Speaker 1: because you do this and we kind of are in
- 43:43Speaker 1: the same lane, they don't make us competition or you
- 43:47Speaker 1: know that's that weirdo shit. I feel like that should
- 43:49Speaker 1: be happening a lot with artists, and it's like, bro,
- 43:51Speaker 1: like especially if it's people out the same city. You
- 43:53Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. Obviously he's from Saint Pete, but
- 43:54Speaker 1: like you would just like think like that. Why not
- 43:58Speaker 1: share each other's fans, Why not, you know, collaborate, You
- 44:00Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, he'd be good like I like,
- 44:03Speaker 1: I like natural stuff, though I like, of course I
- 44:05Speaker 1: like natural stuff. Like you know what I'm saying. I
- 44:07Speaker 1: never know what's gonna happen in the in the in
- 44:08Speaker 1: the future, but you know, I just like, I want
- 44:10Speaker 1: to work with everybody. I want to work with me.
- 44:12Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying hundred percent. Man, You know
- 44:13Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Well, look, the album is coming soon.
- 44:17Speaker 1: Crazy features Uh. The song is on the radio. Go
- 44:20Speaker 1: go request that ship and UH and check out the
- 44:23Speaker 1: homie Young Blue Man just Get It Boom
