- 0:09Speaker 3: The World's a Pigeon.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Podcast, Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. Schedule release has become a
- 0:21Speaker 2: pretty big thing in the NFL.
- 0:23Speaker 4: Sure has a lot of announcements, a lot of announcements.
- 0:25Speaker 1: For the announcements, Yeah, we're announcing announcements.
- 0:28Speaker 4: We're gonna announce that we're gonna make an announcement and
- 0:30Speaker 4: not the scheduled mid season start being talked about by
- 0:33Speaker 4: some media Barthtender in particular.
- 0:36Speaker 1: I mean, I don't think anybody. I don't know what
- 0:38Speaker 1: Alice is saying, but I bet I don't.
- 0:41Speaker 2: I have no idea what thing you heard last night before.
- 0:45Speaker 4: You that's not a pillow?
- 0:48Speaker 2: When will somebody on the Patriots team though, like the
- 0:51Speaker 2: celebrity I don't know stuff.
- 0:56Speaker 1: That's such a lot.
- 0:57Speaker 2: There's nobody at this table that knows like Dick's strength
- 1:00Speaker 2: than me.
- 1:00Speaker 1: What do you talking?
- 1:02Speaker 2: You can vouch for me. There's no one at this
- 1:04Speaker 2: table that knows less about computers.
- 1:05Speaker 4: That's true.
- 1:06Speaker 2: This is why you get complimentary wrong.
- 1:09Speaker 5: This isn't your big j is hanging out right now
- 1:11Speaker 5: swinging your big j's.
- 1:12Speaker 2: All over the place.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Don't worry about mind swinging pij wow.
- 1:16Speaker 4: I haven't like, I haven't a large process, so mine's
- 1:19Speaker 4: more like.
- 1:19Speaker 1: A cute.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Wow. This is Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:26Speaker 6: Presented by Toyota's official website for deals by a Toyota
- 1:29Speaker 6: dot com.
- 1:32Speaker 4: All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 1:36Speaker 4: at Jillette Stadium, and it's the day after the schedule release.
- 1:41Speaker 4: So Patriots had a lot of fun last night.
- 1:45Speaker 5: With their schedule that they got.
- 1:46Speaker 4: Yeah, a lot of fun with the well, schedule is
- 1:49Speaker 4: gonna be tough, but the release video was a lot
- 1:52Speaker 4: of fun. Yeah, according to everyone who watched it, and
- 1:55Speaker 4: I mean everyone, it's really really well. I mean we
- 1:58Speaker 4: have one of the creators here.
- 2:00Speaker 5: Yeah, driving force of it for sure, Evan Star. Yeah,
- 2:04Speaker 5: I think, I mean that's The reactions to Evan's little
- 2:07Speaker 5: appearance was everything I think we hoped it would be
- 2:10Speaker 5: and more.
- 2:10Speaker 3: I think half the engagement was like Evan's fan club
- 2:13Speaker 3: and then me watching it, Yeah, I.
- 2:15Speaker 5: Mean I didn't see a single bad thing about that.
- 2:17Speaker 5: You know, like nobody really like everybody knows.
- 2:20Speaker 2: You enjoyed it. Thoroughly.
- 2:22Speaker 5: I think a credit to you for being, you know,
- 2:24Speaker 5: for willing to be being a good smith.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Honestly, it's funny because like some people said to me, like, oh,
- 2:31Speaker 1: you know, you were the butt of the joke, And
- 2:33Speaker 1: it didn't like feel that way, Like I was just
- 2:35Speaker 1: happy to be involved in it, Like I didn't necessarily
- 2:37Speaker 1: look at it as like, oh, they're like making fun.
- 2:40Speaker 4: Of you playing a character from a movie.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, they understand that. I didn't know they think
- 2:45Speaker 1: I was playing myself. They said I was perfectly casted.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Well, someone was like, this is type casting.
- 2:50Speaker 4: Yeah that could be true.
- 2:51Speaker 1: No, that is definitely true.
- 2:53Speaker 3: But we did everything in mind with exactly who played
- 2:56Speaker 3: that character. Like it was perfect for.
- 2:57Speaker 5: Evan, just didn't have a pony tail.
- 2:58Speaker 3: It was perfect for Ernie, was perfect for Gronk and Jewels.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Maybe I should have put a ponytail on him. That
- 3:03Speaker 2: might have I tried.
- 3:04Speaker 3: I did pitch that in the wardrobe scene or the
- 3:06Speaker 3: wardrobe meeting.
- 3:07Speaker 4: Oh yeah, and it got turned down.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Yeah, but you know, I can't have all the ideas.
- 3:11Speaker 3: I should have told me I would have next time, Yeah,
- 3:14Speaker 3: next time.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Give him a Irish sweater.
- 3:16Speaker 5: The only other thing I wish that worked its way
- 3:18Speaker 5: in there somewhere was.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Chuck a double burger?
- 3:20Speaker 5: Yeah, or keep antagonian, keep antagonizing me and see what
- 3:23Speaker 5: happens to my casey affleck lines that are.
- 3:25Speaker 4: Gronk actually tweeted that out when he reposted the video,
- 3:29Speaker 4: he said, I wish.
- 3:30Speaker 2: I had a double burger.
- 3:33Speaker 4: So that was That was last night. That was a
- 3:35Speaker 4: lot of fun.
- 3:36Speaker 5: Did you watch any of the other ones?
- 3:37Speaker 2: I did? Yeah?
- 3:37Speaker 4: Yeah, can I was some good ones, some not so
- 3:40Speaker 4: good ones.
- 3:40Speaker 5: I just like, I get that everybody has to praise
- 3:43Speaker 5: the Chargers, but like I watched it with my wife,
- 3:45Speaker 5: who's not a football fan, and she's like, I didn't
- 3:48Speaker 5: understand any a single moment of that. And honestly, to
- 3:51Speaker 5: be honestly, to be honest, I watched it and I'm like,
- 3:53Speaker 5: what the hell did I just watch? Like and so like,
- 3:55Speaker 5: they have a lot of views because you can't tell
- 3:57Speaker 5: what the hell's going.
- 3:58Speaker 4: On with one view. You have to watch time ten times.
- 4:00Speaker 5: And it reminded me. It reminds me a little bit,
- 4:03Speaker 5: not if you're on a phone, yeah, around me. And
- 4:05Speaker 5: then there were some great jokes in there, you know,
- 4:07Speaker 5: credit to them, but reminded me a little bit of
- 4:10Speaker 5: when I was in LA working with Mitch Hurwitz, who
- 4:13Speaker 5: did Arrested Development, and like Arrested Development is praised at
- 4:16Speaker 5: this like just such a smart show, right, but it
- 4:19Speaker 5: never did big numbers. Now that's where the comparison probably
- 4:23Speaker 5: you know parts ways, but it's so specific, like you know,
- 4:26Speaker 5: and so I get why the NFL people love that.
- 4:28Speaker 5: But I think what I liked about ours was that
- 4:30Speaker 5: is just anyone.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Could watch it and appreciate it.
- 4:32Speaker 5: If you're aware of good will hunting and you know
- 4:34Speaker 5: the chiefs that the Chargers one, it's like good luck
- 4:37Speaker 5: deciphering all that all listen know exactly what's going on.
- 4:39Speaker 4: I give the Charges credit for owning the brand that
- 4:43Speaker 4: they've created, which is the burn Book.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Yep.
- 4:45Speaker 4: You know they've come out and said they keep this
- 4:47Speaker 4: burn Book updated throughout the season and then they put
- 4:50Speaker 4: it to life, you know, whether it's anime or in
- 4:53Speaker 4: this case, simms, that's what they do.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:55Speaker 3: I took my cap. I kind of appreciated how they
- 4:57Speaker 3: paid homage to our schedule release last year with like.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Did they I didn't even catch it?
- 5:01Speaker 3: Well, it was a retirement house all the Patriots scene
- 5:04Speaker 3: and then I was like, did someone tell them our
- 5:07Speaker 3: idea because they had a goodwill hunting poster beside the
- 5:10Speaker 3: Sims house. Yeah, like no way.
- 5:14Speaker 4: And that's the thing. There's a lot of thoughts, So
- 5:16Speaker 4: I give them credit. Yeah, you know, like there's a
- 5:18Speaker 4: lot of thought. You have to watch it, like you know,
- 5:22Speaker 4: pause exactly right, And that's why they had like twenty
- 5:26Speaker 4: one million, you know impressions just on Twitter.
- 5:29Speaker 3: I respect the effort that went into it. But then
- 5:31Speaker 3: I see the Titans doing so well with the same
- 5:34Speaker 3: thing they did last year, and I'm like, the novelty
- 5:36Speaker 3: has just gone for It.
- 5:37Speaker 4: Wasn't as good as last year because it was the same.
- 5:39Speaker 5: Well last year you got dumb people who didn't know
- 5:41Speaker 5: any of the teams and every single one with them
- 5:43Speaker 5: messing it up, and then this one they did know
- 5:45Speaker 5: who the teams were and you kind of relied on
- 5:47Speaker 5: random jokes from like I think you saw one of
- 5:49Speaker 5: the clips it was like, what are three words to
- 5:50Speaker 5: describe this team?
- 5:51Speaker 2: Was how they set it up?
- 5:53Speaker 5: So yeah, it was you know, it had some last
- 5:55Speaker 5: there was some funny ones. I like the peaked in
- 5:56Speaker 5: nineteen seventy for the Jets, I'm.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Just gonna fully admit that I take it personally like
- 6:03Speaker 1: the other ones, like I'm just like ours is better,
- 6:05Speaker 1: Like I like, I don't know the Chargers one. You know,
- 6:10Speaker 1: I watched it. I didn't watch a ton of them
- 6:12Speaker 1: because I was watching the Celtics game, but I watched
- 6:14Speaker 1: some of them and I was just like, this is
- 6:16Speaker 1: art is better than this one, like I you know
- 6:18Speaker 1: that sort of thing. So, yeah, I heard you.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Think of the Cowboys one the prank calls.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Yeah, that was interesting. I like to who do they call?
- 6:28Speaker 1: That was the bye week? That one was funny. It
- 6:31Speaker 1: was an an athlete, John Wall. It was John Wall
- 6:35Speaker 1: and no One. Was kind of funny that the Bills
- 6:37Speaker 1: like had Josh Allen living in like the open pile
- 6:40Speaker 1: of dirt.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Yeah, it was Parks and rec little that was my niche.
- 6:43Speaker 3: But I actually liked that.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Ye playing It does make sense because he does kind
- 6:47Speaker 1: of look like Chris Pratt.
- 6:47Speaker 2: He does.
- 6:49Speaker 3: He did good acting, and I think too it was okay.
- 6:53Speaker 1: I thought that was good. That one was fine, But
- 6:57Speaker 1: I think people are actually genuinely interested in like the
- 7:00Speaker 1: birth of this idea and like how it came to be.
- 7:03Speaker 1: I'm going to embarrass you a little bit.
- 7:05Speaker 3: No, it's okay because it's kind of like funny.
- 7:07Speaker 1: No, Yeah, I just like I think people actually care
- 7:09Speaker 1: and want to know, like how this all came to be,
- 7:11Speaker 1: and you're you're the brains behind it.
- 7:13Speaker 3: So I think it went back to last year where
- 7:16Speaker 3: I was so proud of what we put out and
- 7:18Speaker 3: I really had the most I think I decorated the
- 7:21Speaker 3: rooms in that I had a very minor role, and
- 7:25Speaker 3: I'm not gonna lie, it kind of took it personally
- 7:27Speaker 3: that I wasn't tapped more for the writing process of that.
- 7:31Speaker 3: But I was like, okay, you know what. Proud of
- 7:32Speaker 3: the team? Well it was great. I think it was Neil,
- 7:37Speaker 3: but I had really nothing to do with that. So
- 7:39Speaker 3: I was like, Okay, I could have been an asset,
- 7:41Speaker 3: but whatever, I'll do my part. Whatever. And then but
- 7:44Speaker 3: just right after we published it last year, I was
- 7:47Speaker 3: just so proud of the team and just like really
- 7:49Speaker 3: felt a lot of pressure that we have to kind
- 7:51Speaker 3: of we've killed it.
- 7:54Speaker 4: Well, we had some other ideas that we Yeah, so
- 7:56Speaker 4: that was the thing, and they didn't. It was like
- 7:59Speaker 4: this is.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Our initial scheduling studio last year. I said, let's do
- 8:04Speaker 3: the town it's one of my all time favorite movies.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Steal a schedule, like I could just visualize it in
- 8:09Speaker 3: my head. But then I don't know, the conversation started
- 8:14Speaker 3: getting progressing as we're actually seriously doing this, and then
- 8:17Speaker 3: we had that we had an idea. I won't say
- 8:19Speaker 3: what it was that I really really liked. That was
- 8:21Speaker 3: the hardest part about it, is that I really loved
- 8:24Speaker 3: the idea, but just me and Junie kind of had
- 8:26Speaker 3: a sidebar conversation. Juni directed it, and I feel like
- 8:30Speaker 3: I felt like we were going to leave something on
- 8:32Speaker 3: the table a little bit because I just wanted to
- 8:35Speaker 3: be better than last year's. So Juni and I were
- 8:37Speaker 3: just kind of sidebarring, making jokes about like what the
- 8:40Speaker 3: town one would look like hypothetically, and then we were
- 8:44Speaker 3: just kind of going down like Boston movies and he
- 8:46Speaker 3: was like, honestly, my favorite bosson movie is good while Hunting,
- 8:48Speaker 3: and I was like, we could do that, and then
- 8:50Speaker 3: I was like, wait, yeah, there's legs here, and him
- 8:55Speaker 3: and I super informally, I think we're on a zoom
- 8:58Speaker 3: call together just kept talking and just looking at the
- 9:01Speaker 3: trailer and seeing the different lines and how we could
- 9:04Speaker 3: really easily adapt it with each punchline, each major scene,
- 9:09Speaker 3: and then we're like, who would we have in this?
- 9:10Speaker 3: And then we were like, in a perfect world, Julian
- 9:15Speaker 3: Edelman Gronk is his sidekick, as the Professor is gold
- 9:21Speaker 3: or not the Professor as Robin Williams's character, Like it's
- 9:24Speaker 3: writing itself, and then you work in the easter Eggs,
- 9:28Speaker 3: So yeah, exactly. Junie and I kind of had like
- 9:33Speaker 3: a whiteboard in his room with just funny scenes that
- 9:35Speaker 3: would be cool to adapt, and then we brought it
- 9:38Speaker 3: to you guys in a group meeting where we were
- 9:40Speaker 3: very much on board to do this first idea, and
- 9:44Speaker 3: then we were like, Okay, if we can't do this,
- 9:46Speaker 3: does anyone have any backup ideas? And I almost like
- 9:49Speaker 3: was nervous to even say it, but Junior thankfully kind
- 9:53Speaker 3: of spoke up and was like, can we tell you
- 9:54Speaker 3: guys just this one idea. We had to let Alex
- 9:57Speaker 3: explain it, and I saw Fred's eyes just light up
- 10:00Speaker 3: while as I was explaining it, and I was like, Okay, wait,
- 10:03Speaker 3: I think we have something here. But it was like
- 10:05Speaker 3: can we pull it off because at that point we're
- 10:08Speaker 3: a few months out, if not just weeks. We have
- 10:11Speaker 3: to get Julian Edelman to fly across the country, Gronk
- 10:16Speaker 3: to fly across the country, and then meshed that up
- 10:19Speaker 3: with Girod's schedule as he's preparing for the NFL Draft,
- 10:22Speaker 3: the first of his career, and not only that, but
- 10:26Speaker 3: KK schedule, which the fact that and I don't think
- 10:30Speaker 3: people realize that we filmed this. We filmed the Goodwill
- 10:32Speaker 3: hunting scene in one day. One day, and we got
- 10:36Speaker 3: Julian Edelman out in time to go to the Red
- 10:38Speaker 3: Sox game, which is literally barely Like I was panicking,
- 10:43Speaker 3: and the fact that it came together, it was like
- 10:46Speaker 3: the end of the day, I was like, I feel
- 10:47Speaker 3: like this is a high.
- 10:48Speaker 4: And you know you mentioned Junie Chung our director, Yeah,
- 10:53Speaker 4: our senior editor. But the way he organized the day,
- 10:58Speaker 4: you know, for the crew, here's and you know, you're
- 11:01Speaker 4: dealing with different people's schedules, especially the owner, and like
- 11:05Speaker 4: it has to be in that window. You can't be like, oh,
- 11:07Speaker 4: can you hold on, we're running a little late. He
- 11:10Speaker 4: had to hit everything and I think we were ahead
- 11:13Speaker 4: of schedule by the end of the day.
- 11:14Speaker 3: We were, and even with Robert wanting to kind of yeah,
- 11:22Speaker 3: I almost said, shoot the assort, but talk and see
- 11:24Speaker 3: and catch up with Gronk and Jewels, and I just like,
- 11:27Speaker 3: I'm not going to be the one to say, Okay, Robert,
- 11:29Speaker 3: we need to get them to the next scene. You
- 11:31Speaker 3: literally just have to wait for them to finish having
- 11:33Speaker 3: their moment. So I was like looking at my watch, like,
- 11:36Speaker 3: I know we're going to do this. This is okay,
- 11:37Speaker 3: this is fine.
- 11:38Speaker 4: And then the final scene, Yeah, we're out on the
- 11:41Speaker 4: practice field with Julian and Ernie.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Everyone's tired, We're ready to go.
- 11:46Speaker 4: Cameras are ready, lights are ready. All of a sudden,
- 11:50Speaker 4: the helicopter from the helicopter pad starts up.
- 11:53Speaker 3: I'm like, oh, no, helicopter. So I drive the golf.
- 11:59Speaker 4: Cart over there to just to see if I can
- 12:00Speaker 4: see anyone, like what's going on, And finally I get
- 12:03Speaker 4: somebody on the phone. It's like, yeah, he's on his
- 12:05Speaker 4: way out. So we had to wire up the bird
- 12:07Speaker 4: the owner to get into the helicopter and leave. So
- 12:11Speaker 4: that was like at least fifteen to twenty minutes, so
- 12:13Speaker 4: we had a way.
- 12:14Speaker 3: For it totally. Yeah, and then I don't want to
- 12:16Speaker 3: glass over the town scene because yeah, I think It's
- 12:18Speaker 3: mad at the end was so funny. The visual of
- 12:21Speaker 3: the nun mask. That's one of my favorite movies of
- 12:23Speaker 3: all time. But I need people to know Marcus Jones
- 12:26Speaker 3: ad libbed all of that. Yeah, the trunk, the trunk
- 12:29Speaker 3: with David.
- 12:30Speaker 4: And the players involved in that last scene.
- 12:33Speaker 3: So obviously Marcus Jones is probably the most visual one
- 12:36Speaker 3: because he speaks. Pop is the one he tells, Okay,
- 12:40Speaker 3: you're driving now, that's Pop Douglas. Kendrick Bourne is in
- 12:43Speaker 3: the passenger seat. You can hear his laugh now that
- 12:45Speaker 3: I said it's Kendrick Bourne. You can just hear the
- 12:47Speaker 3: laugh the whole time. And then of course David Andrews
- 12:50Speaker 3: was closing the trunk. We couldn't get the mask over
- 12:53Speaker 3: his beard, and Marcus Jones ad libbed all of that, right,
- 12:57Speaker 3: gave them they were just supposed to throw the mask down, bro,
- 13:00Speaker 3: come on, Marcus ad libbed it. And then the thing
- 13:03Speaker 3: with the trunk was funny because they really left the
- 13:06Speaker 3: trunk open and we're like, got the trunk cut.
- 13:08Speaker 1: That was funny.
- 13:09Speaker 3: So David gets out and you'll see this in the
- 13:11Speaker 3: behind the scenes. I'll tease the behind the scenes video
- 13:13Speaker 3: a little bit, but David goes to close the trunk.
- 13:16Speaker 3: Think shout out to Toyota. They gave us a new
- 13:18Speaker 3: Sequoia and a new Supra. But David goes to close
- 13:21Speaker 3: the trunk on the Sequoia and it's a button trunk,
- 13:23Speaker 3: so it's like not going down and he's like fiddling
- 13:26Speaker 3: with it.
- 13:27Speaker 4: But you know, if you want to see Toyota's best offers,
- 13:29Speaker 4: including those not seen on TV, go to buy a
- 13:32Speaker 4: Toyota dot com. It's of Toyota's official website for deals
- 13:35Speaker 4: from the official vehicle of the New England Patriots, Toyota.
- 13:38Speaker 4: Let's go make a release video. Yeah, so thank you
- 13:42Speaker 4: to Toyota for supplying the vehicles.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I want to give Alex her flowers that
- 13:49Speaker 1: the script is your baby. That was incredible, Junie Heed.
- 13:54Speaker 1: I said to him after we did it. I was like,
- 13:56Speaker 1: you were in your element, man, like directing that. Shoot.
- 13:58Speaker 1: I've seen him do a lot of different things since
- 14:01Speaker 1: he's been working here, but that was like that was June.
- 14:04Speaker 1: He had his best, you know, like he had it
- 14:06Speaker 1: was so good and I was like, honestly a little
- 14:09Speaker 1: bit nervous because I'd never done anything like that before.
- 14:11Speaker 1: And like he just was like, you're just gonna just
- 14:14Speaker 1: say it, you know, like like you've been saying it
- 14:16Speaker 1: and you know, just super calm. And he you said,
- 14:19Speaker 1: he had this strict schedule to stick to. You never
- 14:22Speaker 1: would have known it based off of like his demeanor
- 14:25Speaker 1: or anything like that. So those two people, you guys
- 14:28Speaker 1: were you guys killed it.
- 14:30Speaker 4: And it was like a real movie in that. At
- 14:32Speaker 4: one point he comes up to me, it's like, you know,
- 14:35Speaker 4: we're gonna run a little over budget, and I'm like
- 14:39Speaker 4: what you know, like why you know?
- 14:42Speaker 2: But that's what happens in movies, you know.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Yeah, it was a lot to fit in in one day.
- 14:47Speaker 3: It's like a miracle. I couldn't believe we did it.
- 14:50Speaker 1: I Mean there was a tower. The second day I
- 14:53Speaker 1: walk in, there's there's wardrobe, there's like quiet on set,
- 14:57Speaker 1: signs like this was like no makeup, like the whole office.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Yeah them level and yeah.
- 15:04Speaker 4: So it was good.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of fun.
- 15:06Speaker 5: So what are we doing next year? Okay?
- 15:11Speaker 4: So who was the Alex this year?
- 15:13Speaker 2: Saying?
- 15:13Speaker 4: Next year I'm going to be the one?
- 15:15Speaker 3: I hope there is someone that's how we push each
- 15:17Speaker 3: other to be better? Right?
- 15:17Speaker 7: Right?
- 15:18Speaker 1: Exactly was it iron Iron, sharp iron, that's strike man
- 15:22Speaker 1: and Joe Milton one.
- 15:25Speaker 5: Ah, yes so uh but the schedule did come out,
- 15:28Speaker 5: did the schedule?
- 15:30Speaker 4: So you and the Star of the.
- 15:34Speaker 5: Fortunate in presence broke that down A big night for Evans.
- 15:38Speaker 4: It's all over the dominating twit get.
- 15:42Speaker 1: It was just a lot of people that were my
- 15:46Speaker 1: mentions were were blowing up for a few minutes there
- 15:49Speaker 1: and I just a lot of people asking where Paul
- 15:52Speaker 1: was though. They wanted to know where why Paul wasn't
- 15:55Speaker 1: in the in the shot? Uh So that was that
- 15:58Speaker 1: that They made a lot of people sad. Greg Badard
- 16:01Speaker 1: asking I made fun of me? Yeah, Bard, say h
- 16:05Speaker 1: you know where where's Polly? You know he's too good
- 16:08Speaker 1: looking for the part I got made.
- 16:10Speaker 4: I got made fun of a few times. But that's
- 16:12Speaker 4: all right.
- 16:12Speaker 1: You look like you were like serious.
- 16:14Speaker 5: You were like, oh my god, this is going down.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Were you really eating the buffalo wings on the back.
- 16:18Speaker 4: I felt like I should, but I don't know how
- 16:21Speaker 4: long they were sitting.
- 16:22Speaker 1: At a couple of hours food I've eaten two hours.
- 16:26Speaker 3: I felt so bad too, because the catering guy brought
- 16:28Speaker 3: Veronica and shout out to Veronica. The set design, Yes, brilliant.
- 16:33Speaker 4: Yeah, she's been a great jat.
- 16:34Speaker 3: But the chef, the catering people brought Veronica Junior and
- 16:37Speaker 3: I down to just like approve the bud Light beer
- 16:40Speaker 3: hall scene, and all I saw all the food and
- 16:42Speaker 3: I was like, oh my god, I feel so bad
- 16:44Speaker 3: that none of this is going to get eaten. But
- 16:46Speaker 3: it's literally it looks so beautiful. It's about to sit
- 16:48Speaker 3: here for hours, say, I want to make sure you
- 16:50Speaker 3: didn't eat the chicken.
- 16:50Speaker 4: Good stuff.
- 16:51Speaker 2: But let's talk about the schedule.
- 16:53Speaker 5: Yeah, what do we think, Uh, well, London, I think
- 16:56Speaker 5: is the high is the big piece. So going back
- 16:58Speaker 5: to Europe again, I think I mean late bye week,
- 17:02Speaker 5: a lot of road travel.
- 17:03Speaker 4: I mean yeah, I mean if you're looking for Drake May,
- 17:08Speaker 4: you're gonna have to wait a while.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:10Speaker 5: No easy, no easy place to insert Drake. But I
- 17:14Speaker 5: mean I think Evan and I have said a couple
- 17:15Speaker 5: of times there's no easy way with this schedule, like it.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Was going to be tough.
- 17:18Speaker 5: And I know now that all the analytics have come out,
- 17:20Speaker 5: it's saying like, oh well, they do have some extra
- 17:22Speaker 5: time to rest a little bit between the games.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Which is good.
- 17:25Speaker 4: But I think they have.
- 17:26Speaker 1: They have.
- 17:27Speaker 5: The third long the third most travel. So you know,
- 17:31Speaker 5: it's just it is what it is. This is what
- 17:32Speaker 5: happens when you stink. You get tough schedules and they're
- 17:35Speaker 5: not going to try to, you know, make things easy
- 17:37Speaker 5: on you.
- 17:37Speaker 4: So well, they got hurt by not having the back
- 17:40Speaker 4: to back West Coast game.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Yeah that was.
- 17:42Speaker 4: That was so now you're having two big trips to
- 17:44Speaker 4: the well, you're.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Going to London, then you're going back out there twice.
- 17:47Speaker 2: It's tough. I did write down. I mean they are.
- 17:49Speaker 5: They are underdogs in every single game. I wrote all
- 17:52Speaker 5: the lines down just I don't know because I'm crazy,
- 17:55Speaker 5: but it's no, it's.
- 17:57Speaker 1: I think it's them in the Panthers teams that are
- 18:00Speaker 1: underdogs and never game.
- 18:01Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:01Speaker 5: The closest one is they're two point two five underdogs to.
- 18:06Speaker 4: The Colts and as a result, just one primetime game,
- 18:09Speaker 4: a Thursday night game which everyone has to play.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Carolina has no Yeah no.
- 18:14Speaker 4: I didn't say that. They didn't, but I'm saying for us,
- 18:17Speaker 4: just one, you know, and it's a Thursday night game,
- 18:19Speaker 4: which everybody, Oh, they don't even have a Thursday I
- 18:22Speaker 4: thought every team had to play Thursday.
- 18:23Speaker 5: I did too, and they're not.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Carolina is the only team that doesn't have any prime
- 18:27Speaker 2: Nobody even wants to watch someone Thursdays.
- 18:29Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought that was a rule that every team
- 18:31Speaker 4: had to have a Thursday night game.
- 18:33Speaker 2: I did too.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Giving the Patriots an early Thursday night game though, is like,
- 18:38Speaker 1: is just a tiny little bone, right, It's like they like.
- 18:43Speaker 2: To do it.
- 18:44Speaker 1: But it's a familiar team to in the division. So
- 18:46Speaker 1: that's I think that's the silver lining. Those you mentioned
- 18:48Speaker 1: the rest, you know, if you want to have a
- 18:50Speaker 1: silver lining from what is a tough schedule, but we
- 18:53Speaker 1: knew the opponents coming in, so we knew that they
- 18:55Speaker 1: were going to be playing tough opponents coming in.
- 18:57Speaker 4: Uh.
- 18:57Speaker 1: But I think the silver lining is is that based
- 18:59Speaker 1: on off of rest days in between games and things
- 19:03Speaker 1: like that, the Patriots great out as the second best team,
- 19:08Speaker 1: I guess is the way to put it in terms
- 19:09Speaker 1: of net differential of opponent rest versus Patrio. I think
- 19:15Speaker 1: that that's.
- 19:16Speaker 4: Really the Geeks taken over the schedule.
- 19:22Speaker 2: But but that's I didn't realize I could despise this
- 19:25Speaker 2: anymore than I do. And then I saw all those
- 19:27Speaker 2: analytics this morning and I'm like, I just can't believe
- 19:30Speaker 2: someone would take the time to do that.
- 19:31Speaker 1: I just can't. But at the end of the day,
- 19:32Speaker 1: that's what it's all about, though, because you know the opponents,
- 19:36Speaker 1: so it's not like you know where you're playing and
- 19:37Speaker 1: who you're playing, You just don't know when. So really
- 19:40Speaker 1: the only thing that the schedule really controls is your
- 19:43Speaker 1: bye week and how much rest in between games you have.
- 19:46Speaker 2: And I would say that Mike's point about London because
- 19:48Speaker 2: you didn't know you were going to London.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Jackson did. But that's a good point.
- 19:52Speaker 2: So that's all you know. That's that's where it starts
- 19:56Speaker 2: and ends. Now I would say that again, you didn't
- 19:59Speaker 2: find this out, yes today. But the other thing that's
- 20:02Speaker 2: sort of a tough break for the Patriots is they
- 20:04Speaker 2: get the last place matchups with the two other divisions
- 20:09Speaker 2: in the AFC, and they get Cincinnati, who was not
- 20:13Speaker 2: really a last place team now and even the Chargers
- 20:15Speaker 2: are probably not the least talented team in the AFC West, right,
- 20:19Speaker 2: those are the two last place teams they match up with,
- 20:21Speaker 2: So that's a.
- 20:22Speaker 5: Tough that's a tough one real quick though. The Sawem
- 20:25Speaker 5: and Evan did a quick and schedule release video. But
- 20:27Speaker 5: my favorite was there's a comment on YouTube these two
- 20:29Speaker 5: guys know nothing about football, like, which is fine, maybe
- 20:32Speaker 5: we don't, but like on a schedule release analysis, like
- 20:35Speaker 5: what football are we even talking about?
- 20:36Speaker 2: We're talking about?
- 20:37Speaker 1: Like honestly that I said this to you after we
- 20:40Speaker 1: shot that video, and I'm kind of with Paul on
- 20:42Speaker 1: the whole schedule thing. Frankly, it's talking about the schedule.
- 20:46Speaker 1: I like, Deuce was like, they play in London and
- 20:48Speaker 1: I'm like, they do, yeah, Like what what's the other
- 20:52Speaker 1: takeaway from that?
- 20:54Speaker 2: Jones?
- 20:56Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, it'd be really cool to see
- 20:57Speaker 1: like the European Patriots fans again like last year in Germany.
- 21:00Speaker 1: That's that was the take.
- 21:01Speaker 5: Maybe if you knew something about football, Evan, you'd have
- 21:04Speaker 5: something to say, nothing else to add, you know, there
- 21:08Speaker 5: you go a.
- 21:08Speaker 2: Little different team.
- 21:09Speaker 5: But first time there's what twenty twelve there the grounk
- 21:13Speaker 5: gift of him doing the what the Buckingham Palace.
- 21:18Speaker 4: And I heard I don't know if it's going to
- 21:19Speaker 4: become bulletin board material in the locker room, but I
- 21:22Speaker 4: heard the Jaguars requested the Patriots.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Oh really?
- 21:25Speaker 1: Max Mac was so it was kind of strange because
- 21:28Speaker 1: based off of obviously I know we were the home
- 21:31Speaker 1: quote unquote home team last year in Frankfurt, but it
- 21:34Speaker 1: doesn't really mean anything. Right, that's going to be a
- 21:39Speaker 1: pro Patriots crowd at Wembley. There's no way that Jacksonville
- 21:42Speaker 1: has taken over that stadium. Clubs out there, Yeah, yeah,
- 21:46Speaker 1: I bet you that will be a pro Patriots crowd.
- 21:48Speaker 2: It's actually a compliment because they requested the Patriots because
- 21:52Speaker 2: they thought they were worth requesting.
- 21:55Speaker 4: I thought they requested it so that they knew they
- 21:57Speaker 4: could beat us. No, they thought they maybe has to Buffalo.
- 22:03Speaker 5: That was really cute of you, Nicola.
- 22:06Speaker 1: I thought I thought those were for me.
- 22:10Speaker 4: So now you have to you have to give your
- 22:12Speaker 4: acceptance speech.
- 22:13Speaker 3: You know, like I'd like to thank my God, my.
- 22:16Speaker 4: Mom, let everyone, my dad, let everyone know that. You know,
- 22:18Speaker 4: no matter what you want to do, don't let anyone
- 22:21Speaker 4: tell you you can't do it.
- 22:23Speaker 3: Last year I didn't get to help, right, And you
- 22:26Speaker 3: know what, how you bounce back from adversity, right, it's
- 22:30Speaker 3: a team win. It was a team win.
- 22:32Speaker 1: This yourself up from the boots.
- 22:33Speaker 3: I'm getting too much credit because like we pulled this
- 22:37Speaker 3: off on a day. There's no one that didn't go
- 22:40Speaker 3: above and beyond for this.
- 22:41Speaker 1: So yeah, that was very nice, good stuff.
- 22:44Speaker 4: Yeah, all right. Uh so schedule, I'm sure you talked
- 22:49Speaker 4: about rookie mini camp and yours and we witked about
- 22:52Speaker 4: it on Tuesday, So that's that's pretty much taken care of.
- 22:57Speaker 5: Yeah, well, we got a OT practice coming up Monday.
- 22:59Speaker 2: Monday.
- 23:00Speaker 4: It's gonna be a big one because.
- 23:01Speaker 2: It's not team rookies, full team.
- 23:03Speaker 5: Everybody was seeing some of the some of the you
- 23:05Speaker 5: know footage of them all, you know, finally getting to
- 23:07Speaker 5: work together. We're gonna hear from Jacoby Brissett today too,
- 23:09Speaker 5: at one o'clock. I think Evan's going to go check
- 23:10Speaker 5: that out. So we haven't you know, haven't even heard
- 23:13Speaker 5: from him since he officially signed with the team, and
- 23:16Speaker 5: I think for all intents and purposes at this time,
- 23:18Speaker 5: he is the starting quarterback, so be interesting just to
- 23:20Speaker 5: see what he says and you know, thinks about Drake
- 23:22Speaker 5: May and I know taekwonk Thornton is going right now.
- 23:25Speaker 5: He's he's trying to get to a buck ninety, so he.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Can we look out.
- 23:30Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm curious the questions I haven't been following and
- 23:34Speaker 5: obviously been done on the show, but I mean it's
- 23:36Speaker 5: it kind of teases itself up to so you know,
- 23:39Speaker 5: this is year three for you.
- 23:40Speaker 2: They just drafted two receivers.
- 23:42Speaker 5: Pop Douglas emerged last years as a contributor. You know,
- 23:45Speaker 5: how do you see yourself, you know, kind of fitting
- 23:47Speaker 5: into this group. I mean, I think he's up against it.
- 23:49Speaker 5: He's going to have to really have a great spring.
- 23:51Speaker 5: There's no more like, Ah, he's got a tweet ham
- 23:53Speaker 5: scrings going to you know, miss a few practices. Like
- 23:55Speaker 5: I think if he has any hope, he's got to
- 23:57Speaker 5: be out there every single day. I agree, in and out,
- 24:00Speaker 5: you know.
- 24:00Speaker 1: I think he's got to have a good camp.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, resistency.
- 24:03Speaker 1: I mean, did he get hurt last year?
- 24:05Speaker 5: I don't remember, Like, was he rounding? I mean that's
- 24:07Speaker 5: this is how much of an impression he makes you
- 24:10Speaker 5: guys in Green Bay?
- 24:10Speaker 1: Yeah, and green Bay that was it?
- 24:12Speaker 2: That was it.
- 24:14Speaker 5: That was disappointing.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Yeah, they Yeah, he left practice against the Packers and
- 24:19Speaker 1: and I don't think he practiced again for the rest
- 24:20Speaker 1: of the summer after that. So he he got hurt.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Did he start the year on? I r I want
- 24:26Speaker 1: to say he did.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Yeah, he got like the first.
- 24:30Speaker 5: He got hurt last year too as a rookie, like
- 24:32Speaker 5: the line last year in Green Bay.
- 24:35Speaker 1: I remember Clara his day. He caught a deep ball
- 24:39Speaker 1: from mac Jones, dove to the ground like as he
- 24:42Speaker 1: was catching the football and landed on his on his
- 24:45Speaker 1: shoulder and hurt his shoulder in the process of the play.
- 24:48Speaker 1: And it was like the one flash from Taekwon Thornton
- 24:52Speaker 1: And then immediately I see him walking off the field
- 24:54Speaker 1: with the trainers.
- 24:56Speaker 2: One of these Nick kill Harry.
- 24:58Speaker 4: Yeah, congress to the Celtics for advancing to the conference finals.
- 25:02Speaker 2: There you go.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like thee But I feel like the
- 25:07Speaker 1: Celtics are at the point now where and I realized
- 25:10Speaker 1: they haven't won a championship yet, like the Patriots, but
- 25:12Speaker 1: like it's all just kind of like nothing until they
- 25:14Speaker 1: get to the Eastern Conference Finals now and it's like that,
- 25:19Speaker 1: I don't even feel like they even have played a
- 25:21Speaker 1: playoff game yet, like a real play like a real
- 25:23Speaker 1: playoff game like last night. I I donned the me.
- 25:25Speaker 1: I was like they just made the Eastern Conference Finals,
- 25:28Speaker 1: and it did not feel that way. It felt like
- 25:29Speaker 1: they won a regular season and Randy certainly chastised you,
- 25:32Speaker 1: my friend, it was weird. It was bizarre, not genuflecting
- 25:35Speaker 1: in front of this. Am I supposed to be excited
- 25:37Speaker 1: about this, yes, but anyway, I am.
- 25:40Speaker 4: A little worried about what just being able to turn
- 25:44Speaker 4: it on defensively, you know, like I think last night
- 25:50Speaker 4: they allowed too much offense from the Cavaliers.
- 25:53Speaker 1: I would much rather them have to flip the switch
- 25:56Speaker 1: and turn it on, then go seven games to series
- 25:59Speaker 1: in a row, get here and getting the last couple
- 26:02Speaker 1: of years, they've gotten it in longer, tougher series early
- 26:06Speaker 1: on in the playoffs, and it's it's come back to
- 26:08Speaker 1: bite them in the end.
- 26:09Speaker 3: They just got such lucky breaks with Jimmy Butler being
- 26:12Speaker 3: out the Calves all the I saw the injury report
- 26:15Speaker 3: for the Calves yesterday and I was like, they just
- 26:18Speaker 3: punting the game? Are they punting the playoffs? They're tanking?
- 26:23Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean in twenty twenty two when they made
- 26:25Speaker 1: the finals lost to the Warriors. They went seven against
- 26:27Speaker 1: Milwaukee and then seven against Miami, and then when they
- 26:30Speaker 1: got to they won the first two games against Golden
- 26:32Speaker 1: State and they completely ran out of gas. Like they
- 26:34Speaker 1: just hit a cliff at that point, and I'm hoping
- 26:37Speaker 1: that because they had basically coasted through the first two rounds,
- 26:42Speaker 1: that they'll have plenty left in the tank.
- 26:44Speaker 5: Do you still feel like this team is you don't
- 26:46Speaker 5: know what you're gonna get night tonight.
- 26:49Speaker 4: No.
- 26:50Speaker 1: I feel like the biggest thing with them is that
- 26:53Speaker 1: they're so talented offensively that they can win the game
- 26:57Speaker 1: one thirty to one twenty five if they have to
- 27:00Speaker 1: they need to, so the defensive side of the ball
- 27:02Speaker 1: is optional like that that I feel that's how they
- 27:07Speaker 1: view it sometimes. So to Friend's point last night, yeah,
- 27:10Speaker 1: I think the Cavs had an easy street on offense,
- 27:13Speaker 1: especially for the first half of the game. But I
- 27:15Speaker 1: think the Celtics looked at it and said they we
- 27:18Speaker 1: can play this game with them, and we're going to
- 27:20Speaker 1: score one hundred and thirteen. They're not going to score
- 27:22Speaker 1: one hundred and thirteen points on this lineup, And that's true.
- 27:25Speaker 4: I don't disagree with one word you said, but I'd
- 27:28Speaker 4: rather see a team go in there and say, we're
- 27:30Speaker 4: just gonna just put our throat, our foot on this
- 27:33Speaker 4: team's throat from the beginning with our defense and just
- 27:36Speaker 4: smother them and don't even let them off the ground.
- 27:40Speaker 2: I hope. I think it's a mindset thing.
- 27:44Speaker 3: I think the next series will help them kind of
- 27:46Speaker 3: snap back into that because they have some good competitors.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Even if their guys aren't like the most skilled guys,
- 27:52Speaker 3: they have guys that compay the Knicks. No.
- 27:55Speaker 4: I think if they play the Knicks, it's gonna.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Be the can't the Knicks can't score.
- 27:59Speaker 4: No, but he can.
- 28:00Speaker 3: Junsen has like a foot injury to Devincenzo and Heart
- 28:04Speaker 3: are like good players, but it's they're all like to they'reus,
- 28:07Speaker 3: you know what I mean at the end of the day,
- 28:09Speaker 3: Like how tall is Heart compared to Tatum and Brown
- 28:12Speaker 3: and then Devincenzo like he's a good hustle player, but
- 28:15Speaker 3: like he's out of shape.
- 28:16Speaker 2: And yeah, for sure, unless Evans thing is going to
- 28:20Speaker 2: happen with the Knicks, they're going to play like we're
- 28:22Speaker 2: going to score one hundred and twenty points. They can't,
- 28:25Speaker 2: whereas the Pacers they can't stop you, but they can score. Yeah,
- 28:29Speaker 2: So that would be a different kind I think the
- 28:31Speaker 2: Celtics would have to play a little defense to make
- 28:34Speaker 2: sure that India is down around one hundred instead of
- 28:36Speaker 2: one hundred and twenty.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Yeah, that's fair. I think the Knicks remind me a
- 28:39Speaker 1: little bit of the Heat and that they have this
- 28:41Speaker 1: kind of like toughness.
- 28:43Speaker 2: They're very tough.
- 28:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Yeah, And I think the NBA is better when the
- 28:47Speaker 3: Knicks are good too, Like I think Celtics Knicks will
- 28:49Speaker 3: be awesome.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Yeah they have they have five games, they have one
- 28:53Speaker 1: good player.
- 28:53Speaker 3: Yeah, but compared to the rest of the playoffs, with
- 28:55Speaker 3: you about.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Denver, because they're tougher than the Celtics, Oh yeah, seeing No,
- 29:00Speaker 2: they won't have a double digit lead four times in
- 29:02Speaker 2: the fourth quarter.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Yeah, like that's that would be the difference to me. Yeah, No,
- 29:06Speaker 1: there's no doubt that. There's no reason to like be
- 29:09Speaker 1: optimistic about Denver like that. That's gonna be that's gonna
- 29:12Speaker 1: be a series like that.
- 29:14Speaker 2: Now, I think they're gonna beat Denver, but it's gonna
- 29:15Speaker 2: they're gonna.
- 29:16Speaker 3: Have to be healthy too.
- 29:20Speaker 2: I think that's a big thing. That's big out like huge.
- 29:23Speaker 3: Because I don't know how.
- 29:27Speaker 1: I think that's the biggest thing that people people don't
- 29:31Speaker 1: or I understand this. Alex are much better team than
- 29:34Speaker 1: the Calves. I understand that, but Porzingis is sort of
- 29:37Speaker 1: their X factor, like he's the one, like he's there Goronkowski,
- 29:41Speaker 1: Like he's their one that makes them unstoppable. Like when
- 29:43Speaker 1: they have Porzingis, they they're unstoppable. This team without Porzingis
- 29:47Speaker 1: is still really really good, but it's not the juggernaut.
- 29:50Speaker 2: That they are, right, and you look at it like
- 29:52Speaker 2: they had like for most of the regular season, they
- 29:55Speaker 2: have so many options offensively. Yeah, so you take Puzingis out.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Derek White kind of had a bad series against Cleveland.
- 30:06Speaker 2: Horford had a terrible series until last night. Yeah, so
- 30:10Speaker 2: now it's just basically holiday too.
- 30:11Speaker 3: You could argue holiday Holiday.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Terrible against Miami finally turned it.
- 30:16Speaker 3: Played well before this series almost non exist the regular point, true,
- 30:23Speaker 3: Like that's where we needed that defensive kind of emphasis.
- 30:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I think the fear with Denver is that if
- 30:29Speaker 1: Porzingis isn't in that series, like you cannot play Luke
- 30:32Speaker 1: Cornette against Denver.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Alex. Did you watch the game last night? Well?
- 30:36Speaker 3: I watched the game last night, but I was also
- 30:38Speaker 3: just refreshing.
- 30:39Speaker 2: So you were paying attention.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Did you watch something who covered MOBILEI who covered mobilely? Oh?
- 30:47Speaker 1: Not at all.
- 30:48Speaker 2: I had a TJ had a lacrosse game last. I
- 30:50Speaker 2: saw not one play of the game last.
- 30:52Speaker 1: So they they moved they had honestly, they they had
- 30:56Speaker 1: Tatum covering mobilely a lot, okay over the last couple
- 30:59Speaker 1: of because they wanted Al to kind of roam and
- 31:02Speaker 1: help out with that.
- 31:03Speaker 2: I was wondering because of Forfeit and I saw the stats. Obviously,
- 31:07Speaker 2: Horford was like six for twelve, six or thirteen, so
- 31:10Speaker 2: he was great, But I was wondering, like the other
- 31:12Speaker 2: team center hit thirty three points, like did he but
- 31:14Speaker 2: he didn't cover them.
- 31:16Speaker 7: No.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Look, they're and I know we've gone very long on
- 31:19Speaker 1: our Celtics unfiltered seriously, but they no matter what anybody's
- 31:26Speaker 1: gonna say, they will allow Evan Mobley to take as
- 31:31Speaker 1: many two point shots as he wants to take. And
- 31:34Speaker 1: they don't care like if you if if you want
- 31:36Speaker 1: to win the game by by hitting, you know, hook
- 31:39Speaker 1: shots from five feet away in the pain, they will say,
- 31:43Speaker 1: we're gonna go one on one against your big If
- 31:45Speaker 1: Evan Mobley scores thirty points, we're gonna hit twenty threes.
- 31:49Speaker 1: So it's not the math is not going to math
- 31:51Speaker 1: in your favor. I think that that's what you said.
- 31:53Speaker 2: At the beginning, they knew that was a game that
- 31:55Speaker 2: they were going to win, so there was no need
- 31:57Speaker 2: to do anything different.
- 31:59Speaker 4: All right, Web radio at Patriots dot com is the
- 32:06Speaker 4: email address. Lots of emails coming in, so let's get
- 32:10Speaker 4: to some of those. Anything else before we open it
- 32:12Speaker 4: up to the listeners.
- 32:15Speaker 5: No, I think in schedule that's it, and uh yeah,
- 32:18Speaker 5: we're onto I guess TB twelve night too.
- 32:19Speaker 2: It's o tas TB twelve night.
- 32:21Speaker 5: Those are the big, the big upcoming pieces.
- 32:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:23Speaker 3: Hello, when people are like, so what do you guys
- 32:25Speaker 3: doing the off season?
- 32:26Speaker 5: Just like chill, next offseason is gonna seem so boring,
- 32:28Speaker 5: like it's just it can't ever be whole. New coaching staff,
- 32:32Speaker 5: like new management. You know, Brady Night a third overall pick.
- 32:38Speaker 5: Like it's it's it's been, it's been. I mean, it's
- 32:40Speaker 5: made it go by fast.
- 32:41Speaker 2: It's hard to believe.
- 32:41Speaker 5: It's like practically June right now.
- 32:44Speaker 4: Let's see Grant and Minnesota kudos on the video. He says,
- 32:51Speaker 4: love how you bring back former players, don't do gimmicky
- 32:53Speaker 4: or trendy stuff like the Chargers, Cowboys, Titans, or use
- 32:56Speaker 4: celebrities as a clickbait. Believe me, we would if we could.
- 33:01Speaker 3: And now flack, what's up.
- 33:02Speaker 2: Yeah, it's cool that our former I just pause for
- 33:04Speaker 2: one second. So using for more players isn't click bait,
- 33:07Speaker 2: but using celebrities in Okay, got it.
- 33:09Speaker 4: It's cool that our former current guys got in on
- 33:11Speaker 4: this video and took time during the offseason to do it.
- 33:13Speaker 4: Hopefully we get some new superstars here too with this draft,
- 33:17Speaker 4: so you can work with them. I wanted to ask
- 33:19Speaker 4: how early in advance you guys get the schedule. A
- 33:22Speaker 4: lot of other teams every year kind of have their
- 33:24Speaker 4: games in random order when they reveal it. I like
- 33:27Speaker 4: how you guys got creative editing in and cutting the
- 33:30Speaker 4: scenes so it was all in order and slowly got
- 33:33Speaker 4: revealed throughout the video. We get it about the same
- 33:36Speaker 4: time every other team gets it. We get it like
- 33:39Speaker 4: maybe a day in advance.
- 33:40Speaker 5: It's kind of one of the things I always look
- 33:42Speaker 5: for when you watch the videos is like, Okay, how
- 33:43Speaker 5: did they handle the lateness of getting the schedule? Because
- 33:47Speaker 5: it's always that's always the thing. Whenever whatever idea you have,
- 33:50Speaker 5: it's all right, We're not going to have the schedule
- 33:52Speaker 5: till twenty four hours, Like, I mean another idea.
- 33:54Speaker 2: We had talked about another idea.
- 33:55Speaker 5: Where we were talking to like Disney about rights and things,
- 33:58Speaker 5: and they were like, well.
- 33:59Speaker 2: We're gonna need approval.
- 34:00Speaker 5: You can't turn around something in twenty four hours, like
- 34:02Speaker 5: we need to look so you know, it's things like
- 34:03Speaker 5: that that blow things up completely.
- 34:06Speaker 2: But it's always interesting.
- 34:07Speaker 5: I mean some teams like we just abandoned, you know,
- 34:09Speaker 5: like who cares you know what the schedule is? Like,
- 34:11Speaker 5: let's not even worry.
- 34:12Speaker 4: About it, right, These videos aren't really to tell you
- 34:15Speaker 4: what the schedule is.
- 34:16Speaker 3: But that was us lash celebrate the reveal of the
- 34:19Speaker 3: skin that was us last year. With the way the
- 34:21Speaker 3: script was written, it was like, yeah, it's going to
- 34:23Speaker 3: be out of order, but like whatever, it's so cool.
- 34:24Speaker 3: They get the point.
- 34:25Speaker 5: Nobody I don't know what the ske I don't know
- 34:28Speaker 5: what the schedule actually is.
- 34:29Speaker 4: Like every time you need to refer back to the schedule,
- 34:31Speaker 4: you have to watch the video. That's not that's not
- 34:34Speaker 4: the reason.
- 34:35Speaker 1: Its like against Yeah, the glass on the Napkin was
- 34:39Speaker 1: one of the reveals. What are the dates?
- 34:42Speaker 3: That was the part where like we all just lost
- 34:44Speaker 3: our minds laughing.
- 34:45Speaker 1: I hope some of the outtakes that didn't make the
- 34:48Speaker 1: final cut it is that.
- 34:51Speaker 2: I'd say just one thing about that though.
- 34:52Speaker 5: There was you know, Gronk, and then they put the
- 34:54Speaker 5: thing up in Gronks like how do you like them?
- 34:55Speaker 2: Apples? That love apples?
- 34:56Speaker 5: But there was one take they did and I won't
- 34:57Speaker 5: say the actual word, you know what the word is.
- 35:00Speaker 5: But instead of like saying how about them after the apples,
- 35:02Speaker 5: Gronk just looks at Evan and then the loads of
- 35:05Speaker 5: perfect Gronk.
- 35:08Speaker 2: Like right, it was then thing.
- 35:12Speaker 1: Just double birds, double birds.
- 35:17Speaker 3: It's in the it's in the.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Behind me and the Edelman break completely break character, which is, yeah,
- 35:25Speaker 1: you broke the fourth wall. I just I mean, I
- 35:28Speaker 1: did not even really know what they were going to
- 35:30Speaker 1: say to me beyond the how about the apples?
- 35:34Speaker 5: I have a video of getting getting right now, getting
- 35:36Speaker 5: word from a time mattist Bawman is right now saying
- 35:39Speaker 5: Evan is on first take right now. I don't know
- 35:41Speaker 5: what that means.
- 35:42Speaker 1: Wow, I don't think that's a good thing.
- 35:45Speaker 2: Did you break some news or something?
- 35:47Speaker 1: No, you revealed this.
- 35:49Speaker 3: They're playing our future film.
- 35:50Speaker 5: The Patriots actually didn't want Drake May Evan Lazar Patriots.
- 35:54Speaker 2: What maybe we can change this channel?
- 35:57Speaker 4: Uh, Phil writes in from I don't have a football
- 36:01Speaker 4: take at the moment. I just have to say that
- 36:03Speaker 4: learning Evan has never mod a lawn was the least
- 36:06Speaker 4: surprising thing I've heard.
- 36:07Speaker 5: This decade ever.
- 36:11Speaker 2: It's funny.
- 36:11Speaker 1: I mean, you've never ever moted, shoveled ranked leave sorry
- 36:16Speaker 1: now that didn't wasn't on the chores list for me?
- 36:21Speaker 3: Did you have a yard?
- 36:22Speaker 2: City? Hello? Everyone? Hello Marine? Who's this from Claire?
- 36:29Speaker 4: Just a quick note to say, a fab job by
- 36:31Speaker 4: Alex and everyone loved the little in the background things
- 36:34Speaker 4: to like pu on the TV in r kk's office.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Yeah, well he just watches it.
- 36:39Speaker 3: Obviously that happened.
- 36:42Speaker 5: Yeah, don't interrupt my show.
- 36:44Speaker 2: My story, God watching my story. I guess we'll do it,
- 36:48Speaker 2: but we're gonna leave it up on the thing.
- 36:50Speaker 4: Ooy casting. This is from Ford in Savannah casting Gronk
- 36:56Speaker 4: as Ben Affleck was beautiful. I was surprised that I
- 36:59Speaker 4: got more excited when Evan showed up in the cast
- 37:01Speaker 4: and former Patriots. Maybe I need a new hobby or
- 37:05Speaker 4: to question everything in my life. Chef's Kiss to the
- 37:07Speaker 4: Town ending Joe Missoula is somewhere watching this on repeat.
- 37:11Speaker 4: So I guess that's his favorite movie.
- 37:13Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, I was watching the Nicks on reheat take
- 37:18Speaker 1: he went on.
- 37:18Speaker 3: Part in my take, it was a ten aut of
- 37:21Speaker 3: ten interview. He was so funny and he talks about
- 37:23Speaker 3: his obsession with the town.
- 37:24Speaker 1: Yeah. He he watches it like religiously, like weekly. I'm
- 37:29Speaker 1: pretty sure.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:30Speaker 5: I guess they're just they're talking about the video and
- 37:33Speaker 5: they got they got like the screenshot up of Evans.
- 37:37Speaker 4: That's great. Never on So speaking fresnow, speaking of whether
- 37:42Speaker 4: it's okay to eat two hour old buffalo wings, what
- 37:45Speaker 4: rules do you have for when something is or is
- 37:48Speaker 4: not okay to eat? I'm more of an anarchist on
- 37:51Speaker 4: this subject, as I've gone as far as from the
- 37:54Speaker 4: random trey left outside a hotel room for disposal. How
- 37:58Speaker 4: far are you all willing to go? On the old
- 38:01Speaker 4: food front? There we go?
- 38:03Speaker 2: H Do you guys have days for leftovers like Chinese food?
- 38:07Speaker 2: Try to a couple of days. It's more like a week.
- 38:09Speaker 2: Couple of days.
- 38:10Speaker 3: For me, I've read some bad things week. Rice is
- 38:14Speaker 3: the only thing that I don't don't.
- 38:16Speaker 2: Leave rice, So I'm a little bit a week. Sounds
- 38:20Speaker 2: a little extreme, but we got we got a bunch
- 38:24Speaker 2: of Chinese food on Sunday and I had it last
- 38:26Speaker 2: night for dinner and Beth was looking at me like
- 38:29Speaker 2: I might as well have just eaten right off of
- 38:30Speaker 2: the ground.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Well, I was like, it's not that bad.
- 38:33Speaker 5: I'm gonna kick this now to tow. Expiration dates on
- 38:37Speaker 5: food are like kind of like and like my wife,
- 38:40Speaker 5: she's like, if it's the day before, like even if
- 38:42Speaker 5: it's like sometimes it's like sell by, I'm like, well
- 38:44Speaker 5: it's sell by. They don't expect you to eat it
- 38:45Speaker 5: the same day it's sell Otherwise there's the best buy.
- 38:48Speaker 5: So there's always these like, you know, little loopholes and
- 38:50Speaker 5: then it's like that are like it those are just
- 38:52Speaker 5: totally arbitrary. They just make them up, you know.
- 38:54Speaker 2: It is.
- 38:55Speaker 3: I took a food safety science course. I needed to
- 39:00Speaker 3: credits and it needed to be science, so I was like,
- 39:03Speaker 3: you know what, I'll pick this class, and I'm glad
- 39:04Speaker 3: I did.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Because it's actually is that what you learned about health?
- 39:08Speaker 3: Oh no, that was my own reason on my own time.
- 39:11Speaker 3: But yeah, you guys, it's like a liability.
- 39:13Speaker 2: If like a meat no, like like a chicken. A
- 39:15Speaker 2: chicken breast.
- 39:16Speaker 5: You got a pack of chicken breasts expires tomorrow.
- 39:19Speaker 1: My father very big on leftover, has had a shelf
- 39:24Speaker 1: life in my household. Like you know, you did not
- 39:27Speaker 1: eat things like Paul that was pushing it a little
- 39:30Speaker 1: bit push.
- 39:31Speaker 4: What about milk, it's the smell.
- 39:33Speaker 2: Smell it. Yeah, they sell it and go to milk.
- 39:38Speaker 2: I don't. I don't go to the date on milk.
- 39:40Speaker 5: Mess with milk.
- 39:41Speaker 1: It's bad.
- 39:42Speaker 2: It gets bad, you know, But.
- 39:44Speaker 4: You can smell it.
- 39:44Speaker 3: Smell it though everything.
- 39:46Speaker 5: When I have coffee and you put I put the
- 39:48Speaker 5: half and half in first, and then I dumped the
- 39:49Speaker 5: coffee and then it curdles.
- 39:50Speaker 2: And you're like, well, there goes that whole cup of coffee.
- 39:52Speaker 1: You got to start over, do over, Just keep smelling it.
- 39:55Speaker 4: Hey, what about your things you drop on the floor.
- 40:01Speaker 3: My house, I'll eat it no matter what it is.
- 40:04Speaker 5: If you pick up there's like a hair, Yeah, if
- 40:06Speaker 5: it's in my house.
- 40:07Speaker 3: In my house, I cleaned my floors. I know they're clean.
- 40:09Speaker 3: One thing. A couple of years ago, I was in Portland, Maine,
- 40:13Speaker 3: at an amazing restaurant, Central Provisions, Amazing.
- 40:17Speaker 1: My favorite it's amazing.
- 40:20Speaker 3: So there were these girls. I was on a date
- 40:22Speaker 3: with my boyfriend at the time. There were these girls
- 40:24Speaker 3: that got oysters. They left like five oysters on their
- 40:29Speaker 3: plate and left and we had their seat after them,
- 40:31Speaker 3: and my ex was like, hey, you don't have to
- 40:34Speaker 3: take those, like I will eat those, and now what
- 40:37Speaker 3: I will too?
- 40:40Speaker 4: Then you broke up with them.
- 40:41Speaker 3: Well that came later.
- 40:43Speaker 2: This was among.
- 40:48Speaker 4: How do you leave oysters?
- 40:49Speaker 5: I mean they're in Portland main you realize they look
- 40:52Speaker 5: like a giant snot and you're like, I don't really
- 40:53Speaker 5: want to eat that.
- 40:54Speaker 3: They're delicious.
- 40:55Speaker 2: I had them struck me as an oysters guy on
- 40:59Speaker 2: a bet at Super Bowl thirty one. Oh GEEZI yeah,
- 41:04Speaker 2: so before I was working for you and yeah, OK,
- 41:07Speaker 2: and I was with my brother and his wife and
- 41:10Speaker 2: my sister in law made the bet that I couldn't do.
- 41:13Speaker 2: I lost. Couldn't couldn't eat him. I couldn't.
- 41:17Speaker 5: Seems like you got your connoisseur. You probably pair him
- 41:20Speaker 5: with wines.
- 41:21Speaker 4: Now I pair him with horse radishtail.
- 41:24Speaker 2: I tried everything. I tried to kill the taste with everything,
- 41:26Speaker 2: and I couldn't do it. It's just I could eat
- 41:28Speaker 2: exactly the way you said.
- 41:30Speaker 1: Oh yeah, all day right out of the I'm oysters, muscles, clams.
- 41:36Speaker 5: No, no, I love them all, scallops, fried stuffed sculls.
- 41:40Speaker 5: But when I when I was in when I first
- 41:42Speaker 5: lived in and I worked as a bus boy at
- 41:43Speaker 5: a restaurant in Marina del Rey, and same kind of
- 41:45Speaker 5: thing that Alice said, Like, sometimes I would see and
- 41:47Speaker 5: this is like starving student. I'm in grad school, I
- 41:49Speaker 5: got no money. I'm making whatever it was, like eight
- 41:51Speaker 5: dollars an hour, and you clear tables and you'd see
- 41:56Speaker 5: jumbo shrimp clearly, not even touched, like still arrange the
- 42:01Speaker 5: still the thing still arranged beautifully, and you sell. They
- 42:04Speaker 5: they picked around their potatoes a little bit. And I
- 42:06Speaker 5: at that point I would just I had like a
- 42:08Speaker 5: little thing and I'd have a side, you know, bin
- 42:11Speaker 5: that I would hide some food and that was you know,
- 42:13Speaker 5: how you get by.
- 42:13Speaker 2: So I don't know that never.
- 42:15Speaker 5: Some people got grossed out by that. Yeah, some people
- 42:17Speaker 5: get grossed out by that. But if I got a
- 42:19Speaker 5: big jumbo grilled jumbo shrimp and you're starving, and you know.
- 42:22Speaker 4: Yeah, I draw the line at dumpster diving.
- 42:25Speaker 2: That's where Costanza. Yeah, taking eat. Actually I got I
- 42:30Speaker 2: got one more bad story.
- 42:31Speaker 5: I'm this probably this is one of the duces, a
- 42:32Speaker 5: bad this is the dead this is a duce, A
- 42:34Speaker 5: bad persons story.
- 42:35Speaker 2: Another one.
- 42:36Speaker 5: I was waitering, and uh, you know waitering, you're stressed
- 42:39Speaker 5: out and you know, clearing plates and you know we'd
- 42:41Speaker 5: like to wrap this up, like oh sure, sure, sure,
- 42:43Speaker 5: So you know I'm dump plate, dumping the trash, dumping
- 42:45Speaker 5: the trash and then like dumping that your shot.
- 42:48Speaker 1: I just I just kind of scooped, don't want to put.
- 42:50Speaker 5: It back in and like put it back from the
- 42:52Speaker 5: trash and to go.
- 42:53Speaker 2: I didn't want to go back to.
- 42:54Speaker 5: The taming like I accidentally threw it out. Okay.
- 42:56Speaker 3: Pro tip, if you're getting leftovers, ask the server to
- 42:59Speaker 3: bring you the box.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Oh there you go. Therefore, generally what.
- 43:03Speaker 3: They do now you send the waitress to wrap up
- 43:05Speaker 3: your food. She's if you have extra fries, she's getting
- 43:08Speaker 3: some of them, and like she's not washing her hands
- 43:10Speaker 3: before she puts he or she puts your food into
- 43:13Speaker 3: the box.
- 43:14Speaker 1: You see, we're doing the real like starving artist thing
- 43:17Speaker 1: out there waitering.
- 43:20Speaker 5: March Side in East Dennis. That was a cape Cod thing.
- 43:22Speaker 5: So sorry, sorry to whoever that was, but hopefully it
- 43:25Speaker 5: all worked out.
- 43:26Speaker 2: That's Alex that you said that, because I that's definitely
- 43:28Speaker 2: a trends now. They always bring you the box and
- 43:31Speaker 2: I always kind of get annoyed it.
- 43:32Speaker 5: Right right, hey go, you know, you know they might
- 43:36Speaker 5: have some jerk like me. I mean, like what I
- 43:38Speaker 5: would much rather know that the waitress stations.
- 43:41Speaker 3: Or server stations get trashed, like the place they go
- 43:45Speaker 3: to type stuff into their computer and get you like
- 43:48Speaker 3: your drinks.
- 43:48Speaker 5: Still always out back smoking.
- 43:50Speaker 2: Cigarettes still and they're like, who does this?
- 43:52Speaker 5: Like, you know, can I get you Mooring and coffee?
- 43:57Speaker 3: Uh?
- 43:58Speaker 4: Diana from Summer's worth you Hampshire. We probably got the
- 44:01Speaker 4: Thursday night game because we're playing Aaron Rodgers. I don't
- 44:05Speaker 4: have high expectations of a winning season, but sure can
- 44:07Speaker 4: hope for it. I'm happy we drafted Drake May and receivers.
- 44:11Speaker 2: There you go, all right, what do you think is?
- 44:14Speaker 2: What do you think? The biggest line is.
- 44:16Speaker 1: San Francisco at San Francisco.
- 44:18Speaker 2: That's what he got twelve and a half. Eleven and
- 44:21Speaker 2: a half.
- 44:21Speaker 1: Yeah, that's definitely the heart.
- 44:23Speaker 2: I didn't look that up. You know, I'm surprised that
- 44:26Speaker 2: they're underdogs in every game, Like don't they have a
- 44:28Speaker 2: couple of home games.
- 44:29Speaker 5: As well, Like, yeah, the closest ones like Chargers, Colts Tennessee.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Tennessee is on the.
- 44:36Speaker 5: Road still two point five though the.
- 44:38Speaker 1: Road, so they're getting a field goal, So they're really
- 44:40Speaker 1: shouldn't they shouldn't be favored on the road against Yeah,
- 44:43Speaker 1: it's their favorite.
- 44:44Speaker 5: They are, and they're two and a half against the
- 44:46Speaker 5: Chargers at home, but otherwise it's it's pretty much three
- 44:49Speaker 5: point five and up. Sorry, Seattle two and a half
- 44:51Speaker 5: at Seattle. The second highest biggest line is the Bengals
- 44:55Speaker 5: eight and a half.
- 44:55Speaker 1: Seattle is a big one.
- 44:57Speaker 2: That's a tough place to play.
- 44:58Speaker 5: Burrow coming back, it's almost like Buffalo coming here in
- 45:01Speaker 5: nine when you you know, like Brady came back and
- 45:03Speaker 5: now they're going to go and have to face you know,
- 45:05Speaker 5: Joe Burrow coming back.
- 45:06Speaker 4: I heard Pat McAfee saying that he had the same
- 45:10Speaker 4: wrist injury that Burrow had in that.
- 45:15Speaker 2: It's never been the same.
- 45:16Speaker 4: Never been the same.
- 45:17Speaker 2: Yeah, if I had to play, if I had to
- 45:19Speaker 2: play the same injury, because you're not him, I could
- 45:22Speaker 2: never drop.
- 45:22Speaker 5: The ball, correct again onto my foot people.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a little different when you're no, he said,
- 45:26Speaker 1: it was.
- 45:26Speaker 4: More like when you're falling and bracing yourself. Yeah.
- 45:30Speaker 1: If I had to play Joe Burrow on the Bengals,
- 45:32Speaker 1: I'd like to play in week one though, like the
- 45:34Speaker 1: I mean, he hasn't played a game, and that's why.
- 45:36Speaker 5: I just said Brady O nine, you know, like he
- 45:37Speaker 5: was rusty for that. I would agree with the pertion
- 45:39Speaker 5: of that game.
- 45:40Speaker 2: Come on, But the Bengals, you know, they're looking to
- 45:44Speaker 2: get it back together, but they've been struggling early in seasons.
- 45:47Speaker 2: Since this sort of renaissance for the Bengals, they've been
- 45:50Speaker 2: a good team for three or four years, they've been
- 45:52Speaker 2: struggling early in seasons. I think that's good to.
- 45:55Speaker 5: Play one more thing to point out Commanders last preseason
- 45:59Speaker 5: game at eight am on NBC on Sunday, August twenty fifth.
- 46:02Speaker 2: So Jayden, I mean, do you get confirmation that that's
- 46:04Speaker 2: on NBC.
- 46:05Speaker 5: That's what it says here on the schedule that I
- 46:06Speaker 5: printed out.
- 46:07Speaker 2: It is NBC.
- 46:07Speaker 4: We could get confirmation.
- 46:09Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's a little mini prime time.
- 46:11Speaker 2: Did you get that? Yeah? I got one that didn't
- 46:13Speaker 2: have home in away just the websites.
- 46:16Speaker 5: But yeah, he I I, but it's so hard to predict,
- 46:19Speaker 5: like who's gonna play what, Like they're trying to tee
- 46:21Speaker 5: it up. Obviously, third preseason game, time to play the rookies,
- 46:24Speaker 5: but who knows, Like Jaydon Danes might be the starter.
- 46:26Speaker 2: He might be sitting in that game, right if Anti
- 46:28Speaker 2: Paul continues, No, no, oh no national preseason Oh right,
- 46:32Speaker 2: you got oh that's right. Discount. I'm so sorry, guys,
- 46:35Speaker 2: another chunk of change out in my pocket. Review wasn't
- 46:38Speaker 2: bad enough?
- 46:40Speaker 4: L from Wisconsin, He says, all foods need just need
- 46:43Speaker 4: the sniff test. It doesn't smell off. If you don't
- 46:46Speaker 4: If it doesn't smell off, you're good to go.
- 46:48Speaker 2: That sounds alright, I mean vegetables.
- 46:49Speaker 5: Need to get way more likes can't be sought like,
- 46:53Speaker 5: but there's an eye test to it too, right, Like
- 46:55Speaker 5: if it looks like, you know, there's things.
- 46:57Speaker 2: Going on something, you look at it and you're like, great, now.
- 47:02Speaker 1: Let me just put it in the microwave for a
- 47:04Speaker 1: little extra time. If I could kill whatever, or like,
- 47:06Speaker 1: you know, like the French fry that like is like
- 47:08Speaker 1: a little green.
- 47:10Speaker 5: Potato chip used to get like the green and the
- 47:12Speaker 5: potato chips sometimes, but that's just like a green potato, right,
- 47:17Speaker 5: Like that's just part of the potato.
- 47:18Speaker 2: That's that's not like I'm sure right.
- 47:22Speaker 5: Have you guys ever gotten sick from food poison Yes? Yes,
- 47:26Speaker 5: everybody at least twice.
- 47:28Speaker 3: Violating something in New Orleans.
- 47:33Speaker 2: Fraw fish, I don't know what it was.
- 47:35Speaker 1: Me and my my dad had undercooked burgers one time
- 47:40Speaker 1: from a restaurant. My dad ended up in the hospital.
- 47:43Speaker 2: So like that to me is food poisoning. Like, so
- 47:46Speaker 2: you're talking about like I think everybody has had like
- 47:48Speaker 2: a bad reaction to something they ate whatever and spend
- 47:51Speaker 2: a little time in the you know, but food poisoning,
- 47:54Speaker 2: actual food poisoning, you guys have all had.
- 47:56Speaker 5: Oh yeah, wow, Well, I mean I don't know directly
- 47:59Speaker 5: with the but I ate sushi from a suspect little
- 48:02Speaker 5: grocery but that wasn't a gas station, but it was
- 48:05Speaker 5: a little suspect and that hit me, like you know,
- 48:07Speaker 5: you just feel it.
- 48:08Speaker 4: Yeah, I had. I had bad clams once and I
- 48:10Speaker 4: got really, really really sick. And then the other time
- 48:14Speaker 4: I was working at a tennis place and every year
- 48:16Speaker 4: you'd have to transform and take down the bubble and
- 48:20Speaker 4: it's the mid Cape. No, this is in Weston, And
- 48:23Speaker 4: so he would make us go like at dawn because
- 48:26Speaker 4: he didn't want the condensation to go down the fabric
- 48:29Speaker 4: because you're putting it away from the air, and it
- 48:31Speaker 4: had mildew, so it would have to be dry. So anyway,
- 48:33Speaker 4: I drank some coffee, and you talk about curdling. I
- 48:36Speaker 4: noticed the curdling, and I drank it anyway, and then
- 48:39Speaker 4: I'm out in the heat, and like around noon, I
- 48:42Speaker 4: was like, I gotta go home. I was literally in
- 48:45Speaker 4: bed for two days. I lost ten pounds because everything
- 48:50Speaker 4: in my body just should probably do that.
- 48:52Speaker 5: Well, yeah, I mean the kind of if you needed
- 48:55Speaker 5: to go home, like it's oh yeah, Like I don't
- 48:57Speaker 5: imagine Fred would you wouldn't be going home.
- 48:59Speaker 1: I like a little.
- 49:00Speaker 4: I was literally hallucinating. I was so sick, you know.
- 49:05Speaker 1: Yeah I was young when it happened, but we actually
- 49:10Speaker 1: my school nurse actually filed a report with the Food
- 49:17Speaker 1: Agency that yeah FDA I think, and they shut down
- 49:21Speaker 1: the restaurant and like investigated the restaurant for like a
- 49:24Speaker 1: couple of damonella, yeah, and all that thing I was
- 49:27Speaker 1: sick for like a week my Like I said, my
- 49:29Speaker 1: dad ended up in the hospital because complications with medication
- 49:32Speaker 1: he was on. He's probably should have stopped taking the
- 49:34Speaker 1: medication when we got sick. So I wasn't like directly
- 49:38Speaker 1: because of the food poisoning, but yeah, it was really
- 49:40Speaker 1: tip for everyone.
- 49:41Speaker 4: When you go to a restaurant and you're ordering meat,
- 49:44Speaker 4: if you're ordering steak or prime rib, ordering prime you know, medium, rare, fight,
- 49:48Speaker 4: that's fine. But when you're ordering ground beef, because it's
- 49:53Speaker 4: broken up in that membrane is broken, it's more apt
- 49:57Speaker 4: to get bacteria. There's no problem with order ground beef.
- 50:01Speaker 4: In fact, some restaurants won't serve it to you less
- 50:03Speaker 4: than medium. But if you medium well is fine. You
- 50:06Speaker 4: don't lose any of the flavor. It's fine. That's what
- 50:09Speaker 4: I suggest is ground meat, ground beef. When you're in
- 50:13Speaker 4: a restaurant, get it medium well, you know, and you
- 50:16Speaker 4: don't have to worry about it.
- 50:18Speaker 1: They see Jake brisket, the brisket.
- 50:22Speaker 5: But if you're going to like Saint Elmo's, you probably
- 50:24Speaker 5: okay though that place, that place, well, I guess you're
- 50:26Speaker 5: getting a steak anywhere.
- 50:27Speaker 4: Yeah, you get a steak and then you know people
- 50:29Speaker 4: order that rare fine.
- 50:30Speaker 3: I don't care, but let.
- 50:32Speaker 4: But ground beef is different because it's ground up and
- 50:37Speaker 4: things can get into it.
- 50:38Speaker 3: That's when it's tough. When you get like the lettuce
- 50:40Speaker 3: isn't stuff that give you we col It's most often lettuce.
- 50:44Speaker 4: There was a whole thing in Boston.
- 50:45Speaker 3: Remember the Chipotle Chestnut Hill Chipotle.
- 50:50Speaker 2: I'll never forget. There are a lot of it.
- 50:53Speaker 5: Wasn't like, didn't the Patriots get a Chipotle thing? I remember,
- 50:56Speaker 5: like Jamie Collins, I felt like like me and twenty maybe.
- 50:58Speaker 3: I remember the BC hockey and basketball time they had
- 51:03Speaker 3: that they couldn't dress enough guys because they all had
- 51:05Speaker 3: food poisoning from chipotlet.
- 51:07Speaker 2: Wow.
- 51:07Speaker 5: Yeah, I've heard a lot of red lobster food poisoning too,
- 51:10Speaker 5: which is probably not surprised.
- 51:11Speaker 3: I did oysters in Key West, a red lobster. No,
- 51:15Speaker 3: just oysters in Key West. Like I don't know if
- 51:17Speaker 3: I'll ever do gold.
- 51:18Speaker 4: Red lobster has no business.
- 51:20Speaker 2: I never have like a routine.
- 51:21Speaker 3: I've never been toster.
- 51:23Speaker 4: But red lobster has no business calling itself a seafood. No,
- 51:26Speaker 4: it's it's barely food.
- 51:28Speaker 3: I just read something that they tried to. They tried
- 51:31Speaker 3: to like reinvigorate the restaurant by doing a jumbo shrimp
- 51:34Speaker 3: special like all you can eat. It backfired. They lost
- 51:36Speaker 3: like a bunch of money.
- 51:38Speaker 2: Are trouble now. The shrimp are shrimpy, like they're they're
- 51:41Speaker 2: barely shrimp.
- 51:42Speaker 4: They're so small.
- 51:43Speaker 2: It's it's just a way don't go to red Lobster.
- 51:45Speaker 3: I think you spoiled up here.
- 51:47Speaker 5: My roule of thumb is if you can't see the ocean,
- 51:49Speaker 5: don't drink, don't eat seafood unless it was indyed with
- 51:53Speaker 5: like it. But I'm not going to get seafood in
- 51:55Speaker 5: the middle of the country.
- 51:56Speaker 3: No, no, no, even from Okay. So this is disgusting.
- 51:59Speaker 3: I'm so are in advance. But wild caught salmon from
- 52:02Speaker 3: Costco wild caught Alaskan salmon. My mom saw this video
- 52:05Speaker 3: where you have to like brind.
- 52:06Speaker 2: What else would you catch it? By the way, why
- 52:10Speaker 2: why do they have to say that it's.
- 52:11Speaker 3: Wild farm farmed salmon isn't good for you, and they
- 52:16Speaker 3: their diet is really gross and you get more mercury poisoning.
- 52:20Speaker 3: But my mom had a piece of salmon that she
- 52:23Speaker 3: lets sit in salt water. I will never cook salmon
- 52:27Speaker 3: ever again in my life without doing this because a
- 52:30Speaker 3: warm parasite, something like literally this long came out of
- 52:35Speaker 3: the piece of fish and was in the bowl. She
- 52:37Speaker 3: sent me a video it was going and then I
- 52:41Speaker 3: went down the rabbit hole and like most seafood that
- 52:44Speaker 3: we're eating has straight up parasites.
- 52:46Speaker 4: In its.
- 52:50Speaker 5: Saul that one, Steve Martin, yea words, ro.
- 52:55Speaker 4: I mean there's some people that just won't eat seafood,
- 52:57Speaker 4: and I get it, like, you know.
- 52:58Speaker 2: It's like sea bugs books.
- 53:00Speaker 4: Really Yeah, Andrew and La, thanks for the schedule release.
- 53:05Speaker 4: I had to watch the video multiple times to find
- 53:07Speaker 4: a game close to me. There's no way. There was
- 53:11Speaker 4: no other way to see the schedule otherwise, so I
- 53:13Speaker 4: needed to keep pausing the video. When Edelman slapped the
- 53:16Speaker 4: napkin against the good news, I'll be at the Arizona
- 53:20Speaker 4: game because I wanted to see this team win a game.
- 53:24Speaker 4: O ps, please pick up next year with the town
- 53:27Speaker 4: theme schedulely so you could pick up where you left off.
- 53:30Speaker 3: Maybe yeah, but then what's the movie we end with,
- 53:34Speaker 3: right Saints or something that departed?
- 53:38Speaker 4: Fever pitch Oh one of the worst movies ever.
- 53:44Speaker 1: It's up there you don't.
- 53:46Speaker 5: Like Jimmy foun it's so bad.
- 53:47Speaker 2: It's good. I don't like Jimmy you know what kind
- 53:48Speaker 2: of fun? You know?
- 53:49Speaker 5: What bug me was that they like shot that when
- 53:51Speaker 5: the Red Sox were actually doing it, and it was
- 53:53Speaker 5: like and they're like having a moment moment shooting a
- 53:55Speaker 5: movie in the middle of it, and like we're trying
- 53:56Speaker 5: to enjoy this. Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Foullon, you have
- 53:58Speaker 5: to be making a movie right now?
- 53:59Speaker 2: Can we just not have to do this?
- 54:00Speaker 3: But I do remember worked out for the movie.
- 54:03Speaker 2: I remember actually seeing them. Why when when when oh
- 54:06Speaker 2: they're celebrating, You're like, was that and then you found
- 54:09Speaker 2: out about it later? Yeah?
- 54:11Speaker 4: I love the fairly So that's uh, Matthew writes in wondering,
- 54:16Speaker 4: uh what the Patriots going to Wemley? Is that the
- 54:18Speaker 4: NFL thinking Patriots are going to be competitive against a
- 54:22Speaker 4: good Jags team or are they thinking Patriots have a
- 54:24Speaker 4: good base here and it doesn't matter if they stink
- 54:28Speaker 4: or not. Just seems odd that they waited till after
- 54:30Speaker 4: the draft for what wait.
- 54:33Speaker 2: To announce it? The schedule is after the draft?
- 54:36Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, man, well you said Fred it sounds like
- 54:40Speaker 5: the Jags there is a.
- 54:41Speaker 2: Big one, the same thing without Buffalo last year, Like
- 54:44Speaker 2: they want Jacksonville wants to play teams that have sort
- 54:47Speaker 2: of you know, yeah, I hate I hate the term,
- 54:49Speaker 2: but a brand. Yeah, and the Patriots still a brand
- 54:53Speaker 2: and we're close.
- 54:54Speaker 5: This isn't like it's not an overwhelming travel scenario for
- 54:56Speaker 5: I mean, the Right and the Patriots are the closest
- 54:59Speaker 5: to and I, yeah, anybody, and I.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Wouldn't be surprised if they agreed to it.
- 55:02Speaker 4: Now.
- 55:04Speaker 2: I don't know about the other stuff, like if they
- 55:06Speaker 2: requested no bye after London, yeah or not, because I
- 55:10Speaker 2: know that you generally you get a bye after London
- 55:12Speaker 2: unless you request specifically not to have one. Yeah, yeah,
- 55:15Speaker 2: which I think Tennessee has done in the past. I
- 55:18Speaker 2: think Baltimore requested no bye after a London trip too.
- 55:22Speaker 5: I think all our UK listeners might want to know, Fred,
- 55:24Speaker 5: what's the plan? Are we going to send PU over there?
- 55:26Speaker 5: We're gonna have a little.
- 55:27Speaker 4: From what I understand it's going to be in terms
- 55:30Speaker 4: of travel, it's going to be just a normal road game.
- 55:32Speaker 4: We're not going to go get out there early, you know,
- 55:35Speaker 4: no parties.
- 55:36Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, there might be. I mean German nightclubs.
- 55:38Speaker 4: I mean it's if the UK Patriots fans want to,
- 55:42Speaker 4: you know, do a party, I'll go.
- 55:44Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I mean America's guests will be different, just.
- 55:48Speaker 4: Like we do.
- 55:48Speaker 2: Like you know Denver's had.
- 55:50Speaker 3: Oh yeah, no, I'll cover it if you want to
- 55:52Speaker 3: send me.
- 55:53Speaker 5: I still remember going to Seattle in twenty twelve and
- 55:56Speaker 5: you guys had a party there and I went and
- 55:58Speaker 5: I seen you and I was like, I was at
- 56:00Speaker 5: that party. I didn't see you, but I remember seeing
- 56:02Speaker 5: from like there's there's you were there.
- 56:04Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 56:04Speaker 5: I walked over and walked in and didn't talk to
- 56:06Speaker 5: anybody and then walked out.
- 56:09Speaker 2: I believe that was a two Uh do we stay
- 56:14Speaker 2: out there? Was it like the Raiders in Seattle or something?
- 56:16Speaker 2: Some kind of combination West Coast trip and I that
- 56:18Speaker 2: was the second leg And I think I was at
- 56:20Speaker 2: that Seattle game.
- 56:21Speaker 1: That was the game that That was the.
- 56:23Speaker 2: Game that Andy and I took the They had those
- 56:25Speaker 2: towels you know that one twelve Yeah, the Green Ones,
- 56:29Speaker 2: And so Andy and I go in the back of
- 56:32Speaker 2: the press box like kids are like those. So we
- 56:35Speaker 2: took him put in my bag. We put him in
- 56:37Speaker 2: our bags. We turned around. A friend's looking and he goes, twelve,
- 56:44Speaker 2: I still have one. I still have one.
- 56:46Speaker 4: It was but that that Seattle party. Yeah, the place
- 56:50Speaker 4: was packed, and that bar left so much money on
- 56:54Speaker 4: the table by not having enough staff, like it took
- 56:57Speaker 4: you forever.
- 56:58Speaker 2: To get refilled. I think that's why they left so
- 57:00Speaker 2: much money on the table.
- 57:01Speaker 5: I believe yeah, I believe it, you know now that
- 57:03Speaker 5: I'm thinking of it. It might have been a wait, oh wait,
- 57:05Speaker 5: I was there for that one too. I don't think
- 57:06Speaker 5: I went to the party, but oh eight and twelve.
- 57:07Speaker 5: I went to the two Seattle games, and that's awesome,
- 57:09Speaker 5: awesome place to see a game.
- 57:10Speaker 2: I just I'd love to go back there. So well,
- 57:12Speaker 2: it might have been after I stopped traveling for good.
- 57:14Speaker 5: I think it might have been a wight yeah with
- 57:16Speaker 5: Castle and uh yeah they had like a fumble to
- 57:18Speaker 5: seal it. It wasn't the U Matt Bro game.
- 57:20Speaker 2: That was the twelve one. Oh yeah, yeah, they won
- 57:23Speaker 2: the game, the Patriots game. I said it, yeah, Castle,
- 57:27Speaker 2: I mean the Patriots had Castle. The Seattle Seahawks were
- 57:30Speaker 2: like sub five hundred.
- 57:31Speaker 5: They weren't going anywhere, and the fans still were just
- 57:34Speaker 5: like it starts in the huddle and they're screaming and screaming.
- 57:38Speaker 2: I couldn't believe it. I was so impressed.
- 57:39Speaker 1: That was a good ga. Yeah, it was.
- 57:40Speaker 4: It was a good game.
- 57:41Speaker 5: It was I think it was like Meriweather forced to fumble.
- 57:43Speaker 2: I think to seal it.
- 57:43Speaker 5: They were kind of driving to maybe yeah, right right right?
- 57:49Speaker 4: Uh Fabio in Germany.
- 57:51Speaker 3: Uh.
- 57:51Speaker 4: I'm usually pretty optimistic person. Before last season, for example,
- 57:55Speaker 4: I thought they could be a ten win team if
- 57:57Speaker 4: something's fell their way. But I have to say, after
- 58:00Speaker 4: looking at the schedule today, I'm having a hard time
- 58:02Speaker 4: seeing more than three or four wins next year. I
- 58:05Speaker 4: know anything can happen, but assuming Mayo doesn't have a
- 58:08Speaker 4: Stroud like or may doesn't have a Stroud like year,
- 58:12Speaker 4: the Cards, Colts, Bears, and Titans are all coin flips
- 58:15Speaker 4: at best, and maybe you get one more win. Because
- 58:18Speaker 4: the NFL is the NFL, this could be another rough one.
- 58:21Speaker 4: I don't want win loss projections from you, but that's annoying.
- 58:25Speaker 4: But do you feel the same way or what are
- 58:28Speaker 4: your general feelings right now?
- 58:30Speaker 2: No?
- 58:30Speaker 5: I don't, and I'm because I don't allow myself to
- 58:33Speaker 5: try to think about those things because this is a
- 58:35Speaker 5: new Patriots team and I have no idea what this
- 58:37Speaker 5: team is.
- 58:37Speaker 2: And you might be right.
- 58:38Speaker 5: They might be a three win team, they might be
- 58:40Speaker 5: a what I win? I don't know, but I just
- 58:42Speaker 5: I can't like just sit there and bemoan that they're
- 58:44Speaker 5: gonna be bad again and this is gonna be like
- 58:46Speaker 5: this is a whole new team, a new energy. I
- 58:47Speaker 5: don't know.
- 58:48Speaker 2: Maybe they are, but maybe you know, as.
- 58:49Speaker 5: We've been talking about, they play better down the end
- 58:52Speaker 5: and down the stretch, and all of a sudden, like oh,
- 58:54Speaker 5: the Chargers, they gotta win this one in New England
- 58:56Speaker 5: to make the playoffs and bam they knock them off.
- 58:57Speaker 5: Or Buffalo, Oh they need this one to secure home
- 58:59Speaker 5: freel and they knocked them off to finish the year.
- 59:02Speaker 5: So it's like I get it. I understand that's what
- 59:04Speaker 5: everybody wants to do protect you know what the record
- 59:06Speaker 5: is going to be. But for me right now, I
- 59:07Speaker 5: just I want to get to like training camp and
- 59:09Speaker 5: I want to see what is even going to happen.
- 59:11Speaker 5: Maybe it's worse, I don't know, but to try to
- 59:13Speaker 5: like make that leap in my head, it's just it's
- 59:15Speaker 5: it's not fun. What's fun is going to be seeing
- 59:17Speaker 5: this team develop into whatever they developed it.
- 59:19Speaker 4: I had to put money on it. You put it
- 59:21Speaker 4: on the lower side instead of making.
- 59:23Speaker 5: I go under six point five, I'd go under six
- 59:25Speaker 5: point five.
- 59:25Speaker 2: Yeah, but he didn't want.
- 59:27Speaker 1: You to do that.
- 59:28Speaker 2: Well I did it anyway. Just yell you just yelled
- 59:30Speaker 2: at him. It's just ridiculous, Like he said, I don't
- 59:34Speaker 2: need that because I think I was trying to bring
- 59:36Speaker 2: the thunder a little bit.
- 59:37Speaker 5: We talked about food safety and I like it.
- 59:39Speaker 2: I did like the thunder. I did like the funder.
- 59:41Speaker 4: Ow there's just too many unknowns, especially on offense, to
- 59:44Speaker 4: be able to say they're going to do X. Well.
- 59:48Speaker 2: That was like Martin.
- 59:49Speaker 5: Martin came out to me upstairs and he's like, so,
- 59:51Speaker 5: what do you think about the matchup against the Colts?
- 59:53Speaker 2: I'm like, what, like? Like what Week said? He's like
- 59:56Speaker 2: Week thirteen.
- 59:57Speaker 5: I'm like, I gotta be honest, I have no idea
- 59:59Speaker 5: why to think?
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: How did he ask you that?
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: I don't know? I don't know, you know the coast.
- 1:00:02Speaker 5: You just get a question.
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: He's doing an analysis.
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: You might be doing an analysis, but what like I could
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: see if he's just like, what do you think? You know,
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: what do you think? I wasn't sure. I didn't know
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: how to answer it.
- 1:00:11Speaker 5: I'm like, I wish I could come up with something,
- 1:00:13Speaker 5: but like, what's Anthony Richardson?
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: Look like?
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: Does he come back? Is he healthy?
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: Who's the Patriots quarterback?
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: What? You know?
- 1:00:18Speaker 5: What guys have emerged? Does anybody emerge? Is the defense?
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: You know? Goodn four and a half and five and
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: a half for the over under? Yeah, I mean I
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: might go over generally pretty close.
- 1:00:28Speaker 5: Yeah, that's I mean, I just think if if it
- 1:00:31Speaker 5: were to be five or six wins, I would want
- 1:00:33Speaker 5: a few of.
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: Them to come up. Food.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: No, that's it's not okay.
- 1:00:37Speaker 5: Oh, geez, freaking news maybe for you.
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: The Patriots and starting center David Andrews have agreed to
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: an extension through twenty twenty five, per source. Under the
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: new deal, Andrews do a base value of twelve million
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: over the next two seasons, with the maximum value of
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: thirteen million and eight million fully guaranteed.
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: So much for this being his last year? Possibly?
- 1:00:58Speaker 5: Yeah, this feels like a little shuffling and things around.
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: Give them a little man, I didn't I don't have
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: those the numbers the specifics. All right, Alex, just read
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: the numbers, but I don't know you need the Miguel breakdown.

- 1:03:31Speaker 8: We are here on video for the real time Patriots
- 1:03:35Speaker 8: halftime show. Matise Bauman here with Chris Cassidy. We got
- 1:03:38Speaker 8: a fun one today for the first time on video,
- 1:03:40Speaker 8: I guess. So let's start off with some trivia. It's
- 1:03:42Speaker 8: gonna be based off the topic. All right, we're talking Madden,
- 1:03:46Speaker 8: all right. The question one, who was the first player
- 1:03:49Speaker 8: in Madden to have a one hundred overall speed rating?
- 1:03:53Speaker 8: All right, one hundred overall speed rating?
- 1:03:55Speaker 9: Can I give an answer?
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: No, we can't give an answer.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: Number two? Question two?
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: Question two?
- 1:04:01Speaker 8: What was who was the Patriots first player to be
- 1:04:04Speaker 8: on the cover of Madden?
- 1:04:06Speaker 9: All right? I actually no idea.
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: Come on, that's money, bro, is it?
- 1:04:09Speaker 8: And question three? What was the first year the Madden
- 1:04:13Speaker 8: video game came out? All right, definitely don't know that one.
- 1:04:16Speaker 9: No I do.
- 1:04:17Speaker 8: Okay, Well, let the fans answer. Send your answers into
- 1:04:20Speaker 8: web radio Patriots dot com and Chris, let's just start
- 1:04:24Speaker 8: off with I love Madden.
- 1:04:25Speaker 4: Off, you love mad.
- 1:04:26Speaker 10: Well, I'm really bad at Madden, but I like it.
- 1:04:29Speaker 8: So let's start with this my geophy age little here.
- 1:04:31Speaker 8: What was the first Madden you started playing?
- 1:04:34Speaker 10: Whoa, uh, My first ever Madden was probably Madden oh
- 1:04:38Speaker 10: six or eight, one of those two? Okay, it wasn't
- 1:04:41Speaker 10: O seven.
- 1:04:42Speaker 9: All right, it wasn't.
- 1:04:43Speaker 8: What were you playing on?
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: PS?
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: Two?
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: PS two? All right? You want to guess what mine was?
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: Was it eighty four?
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: Jesus, come on?
- 1:04:55Speaker 8: The first one I played was Madden O three, Marshall
- 1:04:58Speaker 8: fulk on the cover I played. I played on PC,
- 1:05:01Speaker 8: all right, and fun fact I played on my My
- 1:05:07Speaker 8: mom didn't let me have an Xbox or PlayStation. But
- 1:05:10Speaker 8: also this is you know, it's funny. When John Madden
- 1:05:13Speaker 8: created this, he created for the idea of people like me.
- 1:05:15Speaker 8: I taught myself how to play football from Madden.
- 1:05:18Speaker 9: So were you one of those game Boy like Blitz
- 1:05:20Speaker 9: football people?
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: Did you play on the game like when I was older?
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:05:24Speaker 8: My mom didn't let me like the old Blitz like
- 1:05:26Speaker 8: on the arcade game.
- 1:05:27Speaker 9: No, No, like the game Boy you know, yeah, I played.
- 1:05:29Speaker 4: It was a little older like, yeah, how.
- 1:05:31Speaker 9: Old were you when you were playing with a game boy?
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: I still played with the game boy bro.
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: No.
- 1:05:38Speaker 8: But so, Chris, Chris, what what are your thoughts in
- 1:05:40Speaker 8: the game, because unfortunately it's gone downhill the past couple
- 1:05:43Speaker 8: of years.
- 1:05:44Speaker 10: They's spent a little bit of a decline in Madden.
- 1:05:46Speaker 10: But at the same time, I think, I mean, the
- 1:05:50Speaker 10: way games are going anyways, they're just dumbing him down
- 1:05:52Speaker 10: in general. So Madden, in my opinion, unfortunately, is just
- 1:05:57Speaker 10: taking a little bit too much out of it when
- 1:05:59Speaker 10: there was a lot more that you could do past ones.
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:06:02Speaker 10: And also even though they dumbed it down, it's still
- 1:06:05Speaker 10: a little complicated to navigate.
- 1:06:08Speaker 8: But yeah, it's crazy because all right, so first of all,
- 1:06:11Speaker 8: little backstore here there used to be ESPN two K,
- 1:06:14Speaker 8: and then the NFL took the rights to it.
- 1:06:17Speaker 9: Two K was NHL as well.
- 1:06:19Speaker 8: Yeah, so just so you know, now they look trivia question,
- 1:06:21Speaker 8: who was on the cover of NFL two K five? Yeah, no,
- 1:06:25Speaker 8: shot you know that one.
- 1:06:25Speaker 4: But no.
- 1:06:27Speaker 8: But so then also, I don't know if you know this,
- 1:06:28Speaker 8: the NFL regulates certain things that are allowed to be in
- 1:06:31Speaker 8: the game. So back in the day used to be
- 1:06:33Speaker 8: able to pop people's helmets off. Can't do that anymore.
- 1:06:37Speaker 8: The concussion injury thing, that's got a bit muddied obviously.
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:06:41Speaker 8: And so I think, like, you know, it's a video game, Like, yeah,
- 1:06:44Speaker 8: it's a simulation, but you just gotta be able to
- 1:06:46Speaker 8: do certain things, like you you used to be able
- 1:06:48Speaker 8: to customize your own stadium, customize your player, like they
- 1:06:52Speaker 8: took away challenging the plays in some of them.
- 1:06:55Speaker 10: So, but I think the customization aspect of it was huge,
- 1:06:58Speaker 10: Like I would sit there in customize the stadium for maybe, yeah,
- 1:07:02Speaker 10: two hours. Also my brain was trying to function that long.
- 1:07:05Speaker 10: But two hours of customizing the stadiums just as enjoyable
- 1:07:08Speaker 10: as playing in the season.
- 1:07:09Speaker 8: So I used to play mad O five, which is
- 1:07:12Speaker 8: hands down the best Madden.
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: There's no question.
- 1:07:15Speaker 9: I thought Madden No. Nine was my favorite.
- 1:07:16Speaker 8: Man No oh five, Bro, they bought in the hit
- 1:07:18Speaker 8: stick Ray Lewis on the cover. You had you had
- 1:07:20Speaker 8: the four rookie qv class as rookies, you could just
- 1:07:23Speaker 8: play forever. I would play all the way to twenty
- 1:07:25Speaker 8: twenty four because you were used to be able to
- 1:07:27Speaker 8: do that, and now it's just like you can't. I
- 1:07:29Speaker 8: remember I played on the Xbox, and next thing I know,
- 1:07:32Speaker 8: I got like relocated and they wouldn't let me play
- 1:07:35Speaker 8: anymore or like I did as a coach, and they
- 1:07:37Speaker 8: forced me to retire.
- 1:07:38Speaker 10: You were good, though, he talked, You were good enough
- 1:07:41Speaker 10: six super Bowls. So all right, what's your worst Madden story?
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: Actually, now you go first.
- 1:07:46Speaker 10: I don't no, you go first, because I think mine's
- 1:07:48Speaker 10: just gonna be better than yours.
- 1:07:50Speaker 8: I was playing my friend and I used to do
- 1:07:53Speaker 8: a franchise, and I'd like play all the way and
- 1:07:56Speaker 8: my friend came out for sleepover and I was like,
- 1:07:58Speaker 8: all right, I'll play as the Pats and then you
- 1:08:00Speaker 8: just play as opposition.
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: He's like all right. And I worked my.
- 1:08:03Speaker 8: Ass off to get all the way to the AFC
- 1:08:04Speaker 8: final and he beat me and ruined my whole season.
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: And it was awful.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: It was tough. It was tough. I almost shut the
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: Xbox off.
- 1:08:11Speaker 4: I didn't thought I'm not one of those people.
- 1:08:13Speaker 10: So my cousin Will and I, when we were younger,
- 1:08:16Speaker 10: we would play each other in every video game, and
- 1:08:18Speaker 10: we were like, all right, let's just play each other
- 1:08:20Speaker 10: in Madden. We played so many games and the record
- 1:08:23Speaker 10: was not even close. I was always worse than him,
- 1:08:25Speaker 10: and Madden the worst game that we ever played. I
- 1:08:29Speaker 10: forget what the teams were, but I was defeated eighty
- 1:08:32Speaker 10: eight to fourteen, and I scored at the last second
- 1:08:35Speaker 10: on like a ridiculous play. But eighty eight to fourteen,
- 1:08:39Speaker 10: and he still hasn't let me live.
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: In and that's tough.
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: You just had it on video, Yeah I did.
- 1:08:44Speaker 9: Now we're on video, and now people know I stick.
- 1:08:46Speaker 4: It mad, all right, all right, Chris.
- 1:08:48Speaker 8: So we got another one coming up this fall, which
- 1:08:50Speaker 8: I'm also curious to wonder what they call it, because
- 1:08:52Speaker 8: it's gonna be Mad in twenty five. But I did
- 1:08:55Speaker 8: a Mad twenty five RG three Yeah, yeah, it wasn't three.
- 1:08:58Speaker 8: Oh no, Richard German, No, it was RG three, not
- 1:09:01Speaker 8: RG three.
- 1:09:02Speaker 9: RG three was on the cover of Madden twenty five.
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: That's just not true.
- 1:09:05Speaker 4: There's no way. Look it up.
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: You look it up.
- 1:09:07Speaker 4: You look it up real quick. I'll get to the
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: rest of this.
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: But no.
- 1:09:10Speaker 8: But also big news in the video game world. We
- 1:09:12Speaker 8: it's the return of ESPN or not ESPN E Sports
- 1:09:16Speaker 8: College full.
- 1:09:17Speaker 9: Oh, it's gonna be amazing.
- 1:09:18Speaker 8: So listenes eesports full a lot into this and that
- 1:09:22Speaker 8: is going to be the game of the summer and
- 1:09:24Speaker 8: I'm gonna spend countless hours playing that and hopefully Madden
- 1:09:27Speaker 8: bounces off that.
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: All right, let's see what you got. Just google this
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: real quick.
- 1:09:32Speaker 9: Hold on, you're no, but there was a couple editions.
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: I think.
- 1:09:35Speaker 8: No, very sad you said RG three there just yeah,
- 1:09:38Speaker 8: but I think r J three was RG three.
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: Was on the cover of the NCAA A twenty five.
- 1:09:43Speaker 4: No, there was no na A twenty five.
- 1:09:44Speaker 9: Yes it was. Oh my god, Well, am I wrong?
- 1:09:46Speaker 8: Yeah, you're wrong, You're very wrong. All right, guys, thank
- 1:09:53Speaker 8: you for joining this video portion of the PU halftime show.
- 1:09:57Speaker 8: As I always send your answers to the webra at
- 1:09:58Speaker 8: Patriots dot com. And I wonder if anybody gets the
- 1:10:02Speaker 8: special extra trivia question I put halfway through.
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: But let's get back to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:10:06Speaker 9: Sounds good.
- 1:10:07Speaker 11: Someone accidentally threw away the school play costumes. Oh No,
- 1:10:12Speaker 11: replacements were shipped with FedEx and with picture proof of delivery,
- 1:10:16Speaker 11: everyone could focus on the perfect opening night FedEx where
- 1:10:19Speaker 11: now it's next for residential delivery only.
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: And now great moments in.
- 1:10:29Speaker 4: History. The feeling that we had when Tom left Verse
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: the feeling that we have or versus.
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: Is a versus versus you're a kid?
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: Yes?
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: Verse?
- 1:10:39Speaker 4: Yeah, let versus the feeling we have now with Bill leaving,
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: And I would say with Tom leaving, we were much
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: more sensitive about did he say goodbye?
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: Does he say he loves us?
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: And with Bill not so much of that, you know,
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: I would say, I mean because he never gave us
- 1:10:58Speaker 4: that anyway, It's it's a great.
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: Did get choked up when he talked about the fans?
- 1:11:02Speaker 4: No?
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: I know he did, but I'm.
- 1:11:03Speaker 4: Just talking about fans like like, oh, is he gonna
- 1:11:07Speaker 4: is he gonna say goodbye to us? Is he gonna
- 1:11:08Speaker 4: do this?
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: But that's my point is Bill did do that? Yeah,
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: that's the punt that he got emotional. Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:11:14Speaker 5: I feel a lot different about this one, Like like
- 1:11:17Speaker 5: I'm kind of like Evan was, Like.
- 1:11:18Speaker 4: Just the sight of Brady in the Tampa uniform, it's
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: just right. Will you have the same feeling if you
- 1:11:23Speaker 4: see Bill?
- 1:11:24Speaker 9: Will?
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: I don't think I don't think so either.
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: So what was worse for you?
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: Seeing Brady in the Tampa all right? Or seeing him
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: in the Patriots, which one.
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: He hates him? Anyway? You good fall. Did I have
- 1:11:40Speaker 4: my Peter Brady distracted? Yeah, you walked on your own joke.
- 1:11:44Speaker 11: That's another great moment from.
- 1:11:48Speaker 4: All right back here on Patriots Unfiltered eight five five
- 1:11:51Speaker 4: past five hundred. Is the A ticket hotline web radio
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: at Patriots dot com? Is the email address? A little trivia?
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: Ready? Ready?
- 1:11:58Speaker 4: Who was the first player to have one hundred overall
- 1:12:01Speaker 4: speed in Madden? I don't even know what that means.
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: Oh, they have rankings, Yeah.
- 1:12:08Speaker 4: So he runs one hundred miles an hour.
- 1:12:10Speaker 5: Sean Jackson ranking.
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: Oh, that's a good guess.
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: Incorrect. Oh, not a good guess.
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: No, that's a good guess.
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: Tyreek Hill incorrect.
- 1:12:19Speaker 4: I guess the answer is Devin Hester. First person.
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: Devin Hester is ridiculous.
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: Who was the first Patriots player to be on the
- 1:12:29Speaker 4: cover of Madden?
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: Sounds like a trick question?
- 1:12:33Speaker 4: Brady incorrect? Gronk gronk. Madden seventeen did not get that correct.
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: I would have died for that.
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: And we talked about the Madden curse.
- 1:12:42Speaker 4: Maybe maybe trying to make you think Brady and who
- 1:12:45Speaker 4: was the first What was the first year Madden came.
- 1:12:48Speaker 5: Out nineteen ninety.
- 1:12:50Speaker 4: Four, no, ninety seven.
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: No, eighty nine, close eighty eight eighty Oh.
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: Really, you guy said video games back then?
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: Hey, you shut up.
- 1:13:00Speaker 6: That really mean to me that the company Nintendo was
- 1:13:03Speaker 6: around during the Civil War.
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: That's crazy. They didn't make videos back then, though, it
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: really was.
- 1:13:08Speaker 6: It was invented shortly after the Civil war in Japan. Nintendo.
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: What did they do the Japanese Civil War?
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: Are so?
- 1:13:13Speaker 6: I couldn't tell you off the top of my head.
- 1:13:14Speaker 6: I just it was one of those fun facts about
- 1:13:16Speaker 6: life and time periods that I read.
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: Any other interesting factors. It's been reading that fun fact
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: interesting fact.
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: Nintendo surely after the civil war. But I wonder what
- 1:13:29Speaker 4: they were producing back then, you know, probably weapons.
- 1:13:32Speaker 5: Weapons, Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:13:36Speaker 4: Yeah, anyway, all right, eight five five, pass, five hundred.
- 1:13:39Speaker 4: Let's get to the phones. Nelson's been patiently standing by.
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: What's up, Nelson?
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: Hey, I were doing today?
- 1:13:46Speaker 6: Handmade playing cards in eighteen eighty nine.
- 1:13:48Speaker 4: Handmade playing cards?
- 1:13:50Speaker 5: Hey man, Hey, the way I did that video to
- 1:13:53Speaker 5: this last night, Thank.
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: You a good video.
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: I loved it, Thank you.
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: Thanks.
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: And by the way, this was a bunch of stories,
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: but cut a long mm hmm, come again.
- 1:14:07Speaker 4: That you got a bunch of stories to tell, but
- 1:14:08Speaker 4: you never.
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: Cut the law.
- 1:14:11Speaker 4: We have a bunch of stories, but oh, Evan never
- 1:14:13Speaker 4: cut the lawn. Evan there, he's never cut a lawn.
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: I don't know. He's not a man, never, not once.
- 1:14:21Speaker 4: He's not a man. He's less than a man.
- 1:14:23Speaker 7: You said, you said, you're saying your man.
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: He's spoiled.
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: I said it right to his face. That's where do
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: you grow up again?
- 1:14:29Speaker 5: He's half a Man's a job for the gardener.
- 1:14:33Speaker 4: Okay, but I love you know, I always hear y'all.
- 1:14:36Speaker 4: There's gold Patriots all the way. I'm not going to
- 1:14:38Speaker 4: be able to watch in all games this year, but
- 1:14:41Speaker 4: I'm going for y'all. Okay, thanks, Thanks Nelson.
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: It seems like a deeper conversation.
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: Yeah, there's something to that.
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: I don't want to get. He's unavailable.
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: What happened to his TV?
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: But you know, or maybe he's going to war. Maybe
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: he's just not available at one o'clock.
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: I mean it's ten am out there, so you think,
- 1:14:56Speaker 5: like maybe he's not a morning.
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: He could be calling from a place that doesn't have TV. Man, Uh,
- 1:15:01Speaker 4: Brett's and Reno, what's up? Brett? Brett Bretts and Reno. Okay,
- 1:15:10Speaker 4: Brett is off the.
- 1:15:11Speaker 5: Phone, I'll say on the moloan thing like when my
- 1:15:13Speaker 5: parents used to make me do it as a kid.
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: I hated it.
- 1:15:16Speaker 5: But now like with your own house and you're trying
- 1:15:19Speaker 5: to like make it nice like I cherished. Yeah, you know,
- 1:15:22Speaker 5: I got lines in it, you know, like I there's
- 1:15:25Speaker 5: nothing better than you know, Saturday morning, get up, get
- 1:15:27Speaker 5: the groceries done.
- 1:15:28Speaker 4: And then if I can, you know, whether it's mowing
- 1:15:31Speaker 4: the lawn, whether it's mowing the lawn or painting or whatever,
- 1:15:35Speaker 4: if I can do it myself, first of all, save money,
- 1:15:39Speaker 4: but also like satisfaction. Yeah, taking care of my business
- 1:15:43Speaker 4: men used to be men. Yeah.
- 1:15:45Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm in a battle with not weed, Japanese not weed.
- 1:15:48Speaker 5: That's my that's my uh my World War two right now.
- 1:15:51Speaker 5: I just like this stuff be popping up everywhere, and
- 1:15:53Speaker 5: it's oh, it's everywhere.
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I can.
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: Popping off.
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: I can't get rid of it.
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: I'm going to defend myself with this. I can't take
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: it up with my dad. I don't know. I was
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: a child. I was supposed to start, you know, I
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: was a child. I was dad as a ten year old,
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: I'm gonna do the lawn myself, don't hire the guy
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: to model.
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: So like what you weren't always ten?
- 1:16:17Speaker 4: So when I was, when I was so like a
- 1:16:21Speaker 4: random Father's day, you didn't say, hey, dad, let me
- 1:16:23Speaker 4: mow the lawn for you to have.
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: You know, we didn't mow our own lawn. So was
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: I supposed to say to my dad, hey, you're doing
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: it wrong. This is what I said at eleven years old,
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: and be like, hey dad, stop paying somebody to do it.
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: I'll do it for you.
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: Yeah, pay me, they said to turn your I said, no,
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: he's just spoiling.
- 1:16:42Speaker 4: Like what about saying, hey, how about you pay me
- 1:16:45Speaker 4: to mow the lawn.
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: Yeah, you didn't have any hustle. You don't have money.
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: I I I have shoveld you already enough snow in
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: my I did not get an allowance. I've already shoveld
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: enough snow in my life. And I raked leaves and
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: I did all the other things. I'm sorry I didn't.
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: I didn't know a lot.
- 1:17:03Speaker 5: Freaking lee is not as satisfying to me raking leaves.
- 1:17:06Speaker 4: To me, it was hard. It was harder.
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: It's way harder.
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: And then your kids jump in the pile and mess
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: it all up on you.
- 1:17:12Speaker 5: Yeah, those blowers now and you're just like you're for.
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: Like three hours.
- 1:17:17Speaker 4: I thought I bought back at about twenty years ago.
- 1:17:20Speaker 4: I bought this serious Craftsman five and one leaf vacuum.
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: It blows you're literally and it sucks.
- 1:17:29Speaker 4: You literally vacuum up the leaves and mulches it so
- 1:17:31Speaker 4: you get about five bags worth of leaves in the
- 1:17:34Speaker 4: in one bag.
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: Quality of its. Men used to be men, used to
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: be men.
- 1:17:42Speaker 5: It's like a mech that he keeps that was That
- 1:17:44Speaker 5: was a great tool size.
- 1:17:47Speaker 4: When I moved, I didn't take it with me.
- 1:17:49Speaker 5: Yeah that's a good one. Yeah, that's a it's it's roaring.
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: It's fun. It's just stinks when.
- 1:17:55Speaker 5: It gets hot, and then you know, you get poison
- 1:17:57Speaker 5: ivy and there's some there are some dangers to this.
- 1:18:00Speaker 4: Oh sure, running over a snake. You ever do that?
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: My dad did, Bunny.
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: I didn't do it personally, but I've heard this.
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: They cry, they cry, Bunny, silence of the lamb.
- 1:18:15Speaker 5: Never run over nothing. Got some snakes sometimes. There was
- 1:18:18Speaker 5: a frog last week when I was running and I
- 1:18:20Speaker 5: was like, come on, buddy, get out of there.
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: You know, he didn't, so that was it.
- 1:18:24Speaker 3: For him, not just selections.
- 1:18:26Speaker 4: So had frog legs that night. It's very small pat Na,
- 1:18:30Speaker 4: Good night, afternoon. Everyone wanted to get the Roundtable's opinion
- 1:18:33Speaker 4: on Christian Gonzalez's second year projection, with the caveat that
- 1:18:38Speaker 4: he plays the full season. If he's going to make
- 1:18:40Speaker 4: the second year jump, he's definitely going to earn it.
- 1:18:43Speaker 4: Looking at the schedule, the two teams that may have
- 1:18:45Speaker 4: the weakest receiving corps are Buffalo in the Chargers. Ironically,
- 1:18:50Speaker 4: there's some real proven NFL studs and the highly touted
- 1:18:53Speaker 4: rookies he's most likely going to have to match up with.
- 1:18:57Speaker 5: Yeah, welcome, welcome, Welcome to the league.
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: My friend.
- 1:19:01Speaker 5: Uh No, I'm just I'm really hoping he's got a
- 1:19:04Speaker 5: full season in him. You know, It's just he just
- 1:19:06Speaker 5: kind of exudes confidence. I guess that's just because he's
- 1:19:09Speaker 5: hyper athletic, and you know, he's he's gonna be comfortable
- 1:19:11Speaker 5: in any kind of athletic situation. But I'm just I'm
- 1:19:14Speaker 5: just hopeful for him for a full season. Same with
- 1:19:16Speaker 5: a lot of these guys that you know, you're just
- 1:19:18Speaker 5: really hoping that they can develop into into star players
- 1:19:20Speaker 5: and if he does become that guy, they're gonna be
- 1:19:24Speaker 5: lining up. I mean Jamar Chase week one was the.
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: Same thing out of the gate last year, though until
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: he got hurt, he was nails against all of them,
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: you know, A J. Brown, Ceedee Lamb, Garrett Wilson, you
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: know it. His thing is injuries. Like if he stays
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: healthy and he's he'll be great.
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just gonna be it'.
- 1:19:43Speaker 5: It's it's set up to be like with sometime with
- 1:19:45Speaker 5: these guys especially, I mean we've seen it too with
- 1:19:47Speaker 5: certain players that we you know, can go and I
- 1:19:49Speaker 5: mean even to kill herey one, but like guys that
- 1:19:51Speaker 5: that are injured early in their career and then they
- 1:19:53Speaker 5: get injured the first year tackling Thwart and we talked
- 1:19:55Speaker 5: about him earlier, first year, the second year, and then
- 1:19:57Speaker 5: you're like, oh no, like this guy had some promise.
- 1:20:00Speaker 5: But you know, Malcolm Mitchell a little bit too. Like
- 1:20:02Speaker 5: those guys that just can't ever cross that line. And
- 1:20:06Speaker 5: then there's other players who just seem to stay healthy,
- 1:20:09Speaker 5: you know, who just for whatever reason just seemed to
- 1:20:11Speaker 5: avoid it. I know we've talked about this in the
- 1:20:13Speaker 5: past of I'm not a big like injury prone guy,
- 1:20:15Speaker 5: but there are some guys that just for whatever reason.
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: They can't get over that.
- 1:20:20Speaker 5: Yeah, and it's just didn't frustrate sometimes it kills their
- 1:20:23Speaker 5: whole career. And that's one of the great unknowns and
- 1:20:25Speaker 5: unfortunate parts of football.
- 1:20:28Speaker 4: James Petti grew the most interesting Patriots fan in the world,
- 1:20:31Speaker 4: says I love Evans defense of his manhood is ask
- 1:20:35Speaker 4: my daddy.
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: We're going to move on this.
- 1:20:40Speaker 5: Okay, my daddy got food poisoning and I didn't want
- 1:20:43Speaker 5: to mold the lawn.
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: Me not mowing the lawn is a challenge in my manhood.
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: And all right, you guys all we all remember when
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: Alex made fun of him for not being able to
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: walk a great day? Yeah, well that was better.
- 1:20:56Speaker 4: Better. Let's see Chris stuff. Who's this Christophers from from Denmark?
- 1:21:04Speaker 4: Uh love the off season topics, both the football talk
- 1:21:07Speaker 4: and everything else. And I was thinking about a fun
- 1:21:09Speaker 4: discussion for you guys. That got me thinking about the
- 1:21:11Speaker 4: podcast Chasing Scratch, where they have an ongoing dispute about
- 1:21:16Speaker 4: who would win in a fight to the death between
- 1:21:19Speaker 4: a great white shark and a polar bear in a
- 1:21:21Speaker 4: six foot deep pool. Who would you choose?
- 1:21:29Speaker 3: Polar bear?
- 1:21:30Speaker 4: Great white shark wouldn't have enough water to really get
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: up to speed. Polar bears got those claws before, before
- 1:21:37Speaker 4: the great white struck even got to him, he'd be
- 1:21:39Speaker 4: like swiping at him.
- 1:21:40Speaker 5: And don't you feel like polar bears have some like
- 1:21:42Speaker 5: intelligence to them too, and a great white shark has
- 1:21:44Speaker 5: just coming.
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: The only thing the shark could do is bite. The
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: bear could.
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: Maneuver you.
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:21:55Speaker 5: They even say like, if you know the Jaws, guys didn't,
- 1:21:57Speaker 5: probably this is why you're gonna watch Jaws.
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: Evan. You have no frame of reference, Like.
- 1:22:02Speaker 4: They say, if you hit the charge on the nose,
- 1:22:05Speaker 4: on the nose, it's very sensitive there and that'll turn
- 1:22:08Speaker 4: them around.
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: I just think that jaw is bad.
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: It was supposed to be.
- 1:22:12Speaker 5: It doesn't hold up. But by the way, when I
- 1:22:14Speaker 5: was sitting with Great Capello during a Marcpella Greg during
- 1:22:17Speaker 5: practicity was just he was looking at you and he
- 1:22:19Speaker 5: was like he looked at me, and he goes, it
- 1:22:21Speaker 5: doesn't hold up.
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: It doesn't. I don't know what you want. It doesn't
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: hold up, doesn't hold up exactly exactly.
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: There was no preface or anything.
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: It was just like him looking at Evan glaring through
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: his binocios.
- 1:22:36Speaker 5: He looks at me, He's like, it doesn't hold up.
- 1:22:39Speaker 4: Jackson in West Virginia. I think you said you're saving
- 1:22:43Speaker 4: the conspiracy talk for Paul's lunch, But I've got to
- 1:22:46Speaker 4: hear your thoughts on Helen Keller. In my opinion, there's
- 1:22:49Speaker 4: no way the story's real. I'm not saying that she's
- 1:22:52Speaker 4: not a real person, but she couldn't be blind and
- 1:22:54Speaker 4: deaf her whole life and somehow give speeches and even
- 1:22:57Speaker 4: fly a plane. Similarly, have you all seen the video
- 1:23:01Speaker 4: of Stevie Wonder catching and falling the mics and catching
- 1:23:05Speaker 4: a falling mic? Stand a lot of fishy stuff going
- 1:23:08Speaker 4: on here.
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: All right, Well, I'm not going to go.
- 1:23:11Speaker 5: I don't know enough about Hell.
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:23:13Speaker 3: This is a new one I've never heard.
- 1:23:16Speaker 4: Yeah, I was aware of Helen Keller, probably mixing her
- 1:23:18Speaker 4: up with Amelia.
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: You can see how you make very different people.
- 1:23:24Speaker 5: Yeah, women from the nineteen hundreds.
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: I never heard that one. That one's new to me.
- 1:23:30Speaker 4: Why why is that?
- 1:23:32Speaker 5: I don't know, Because it's a throwback to like when
- 1:23:33Speaker 5: you're in elementary school and there were a lot of
- 1:23:35Speaker 5: jokes about Helen Keller, remember, like there was like knock
- 1:23:38Speaker 5: knock jokes, stuff like that.
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: She was always a punchline.
- 1:23:40Speaker 5: But I never really started a Helen Keller movie.
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: It feels like there should be a Helly Keller movie.
- 1:23:44Speaker 3: Yeah, No, she was visual.
- 1:23:47Speaker 4: I don't think it's a conspiracy.
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: No, that's never heard of.
- 1:23:52Speaker 5: I was waiting for Evan to be like, he's absolutely right,
- 1:23:55Speaker 5: there's a website Helen Keller is not real dot com.
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: Somebody's gonna now.
- 1:24:02Speaker 5: Tweet and be like really low blow guys about making
- 1:24:05Speaker 5: fun of Helen Keller.
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: I mean, geez, she has a family who's been ten
- 1:24:10Speaker 3: for a long time.
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: She's great Kenny Keller.
- 1:24:15Speaker 3: But if what if Kenny's a descendant? Yeah, as du says,
- 1:24:18Speaker 3: his ancestry.
- 1:24:20Speaker 5: He's doing his ancestry, founds out his mom is Kelly Keller.
- 1:24:24Speaker 4: Barton Poland in a vacuum. Starting May maybe a bit
- 1:24:28Speaker 4: later is probably the best option. But selfishly, if by
- 1:24:31Speaker 4: chance I get a ticket to the London game and
- 1:24:33Speaker 4: it's the last game that May doesn't start, I might
- 1:24:37Speaker 4: cry a bit. I don't see I don't see him
- 1:24:41Speaker 4: starting after the bye, and how with how late it is,
- 1:24:44Speaker 4: so just play the kid when he's ready and hopefully
- 1:24:47Speaker 4: that's before week eight. Week five doesn't look bad. Also,
- 1:24:51Speaker 4: it's a fan from Poland love the lack of primetime
- 1:24:54Speaker 4: games seven pm start local time for most games. For me,
- 1:24:58Speaker 4: great job guys on the released video, a consensus top
- 1:25:02Speaker 4: five video.
- 1:25:04Speaker 9: Thank you there you go.
- 1:25:04Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:25:06Speaker 5: I would think, though, I mean to me, it seemed
- 1:25:07Speaker 5: like when we were in Germany that like the Patriots
- 1:25:09Speaker 5: fans there were just so excited that the Patriots were
- 1:25:11Speaker 5: there that like even last year, it's like, yeah, they're
- 1:25:14Speaker 5: not going to score a touchdown, but like we're here,
- 1:25:16Speaker 5: you know, like they were excited about it.
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: I don't think they went into the game saying they
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: weren't going to town.
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: That was bad quarterbacks though, oh yeah, that's all let's
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: year about. Jack. Jack Colby took to Jacoby Brissett. I
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: think he's already getting a little bit tired of the
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: mentor questions. You know, that was one of the first
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: questions I was asked, and he said that he feels
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: like every older player is a mentor to every younger player,
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: whether it's him or Drake may or whoever. On the
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: team that that's sort of the dynamic that as a
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: teammate you try to take on. And he said that,
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: you know, everybody in that room is trying to compete
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: for the job and that's the best thing for for everybody.
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: He did mention that that Drake May has been talking
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: to him, texting him, uh, you know, just looking for pointers,
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: you know what Caden's play calls, you know, different types
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: of things like that. Joel, he didn't didn't say Joe,
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: didn't say Joe, but you know, he did say that
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: that Drake May has been using him as a resource.
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: I guess they played golf together last off season. I
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: think he said, uh or no, earlier this offseason, but
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: before he got drafted by the Patriots, really with Sam Howell.
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: So Sam Howe obviously in Washington with Jacoby Brissette and
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: is one of Drake's May's best friends from UNC, so
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: they they have already they had previously met.
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: That's cool.
- 1:26:44Speaker 5: Then did and then the news about the interest thing
- 1:26:46Speaker 5: broke too while you guys were talking.
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: To Yeah, yeah, and he said, you know, David Andrews
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: is one of three guys that was here the first time.
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: It's David Andrews, Dietrich Wise and Jonathan Jones that were
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: here the first time, which Chkobe were said, so he
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: said that, you know, obviously nothing but good things to say.
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: That's crazy about DA.
- 1:27:06Speaker 5: It's crazy how quick things turn over men, that's his league.
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: I just don't feel like, you know, he's not gonna
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: I remember what Brian Hoyer in twenty twenty one that
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: Brian Hoyer came out and said, I I know why
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: I'm here, Like I know that I'm here to mentor
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: Mac Jones and I'm here to help Mac Jones and
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: be a resource to him no matter how I can.
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: Not saying it's bad, but I that's not the vibe
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: that I get from Jacoby. Like Jacoby doesn't like.
- 1:27:30Speaker 5: That though, Yeah, I kind of like it because it's
- 1:27:32Speaker 5: just like I said earlier when they asked us about,
- 1:27:34Speaker 5: you know, not to predict the schedule, like he just
- 1:27:37Speaker 5: we need we need something, we need a spark like
- 1:27:39Speaker 5: and it's I just want to watch good football again.
- 1:27:41Speaker 5: I want to watch an offense that can move the ball.
- 1:27:43Speaker 5: And like you know, I mean, do you think people
- 1:27:46Speaker 5: are gonna be upset if Jacoby Brissett plays well? Like
- 1:27:49Speaker 5: you know, what people are, Gosh, he's too good. I
- 1:27:51Speaker 5: want to see Drake May like I don't know, just
- 1:27:53Speaker 5: be happy to wonder.
- 1:27:54Speaker 4: For him to play well. That means the supporting cast
- 1:27:57Speaker 4: is probably doing things. You know, he's got to throw
- 1:28:00Speaker 4: it to somebody and so that's great. So that means
- 1:28:03Speaker 4: when Drake May's ready, he's going into a team that
- 1:28:05Speaker 4: might be able to support him.
- 1:28:07Speaker 5: I probably should research this, but like, how many times
- 1:28:09Speaker 5: has Jacoby Brissette walked into a team like with this
- 1:28:12Speaker 5: situation where the starting job was kind of his at
- 1:28:14Speaker 5: least out of the gate, Like, I don't know if
- 1:28:15Speaker 5: he's ever had that situation really right. Everywhere he's kind
- 1:28:18Speaker 5: of gone, there's been a quarterback. I mean, I need
- 1:28:20Speaker 5: to research this.
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:28:21Speaker 5: At the top of my head, I know he's been
- 1:28:22Speaker 5: multiple places, but and he's had opportunities, but it seems
- 1:28:25Speaker 5: like every time it was just because the actual starter
- 1:28:27Speaker 5: got hurt. So you know, maybe Jacoby Brissett is saying, look,
- 1:28:30Speaker 5: I've I've been in this league. I feel like I'm
- 1:28:32Speaker 5: a starter, and yeah, Drake May is out here, but
- 1:28:34Speaker 5: like I'm going to do everything I possibly.
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: J Smith, Yeah, and he's such in such a different
- 1:28:39Speaker 3: place in his career than Hoyer was when he was
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: kind of embracing that mentor role, So it's it's hard
- 1:28:44Speaker 3: to even compare it.
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: He's definitely a better player than Hoyer was, like even
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: just regardless of age or anything like that. Like Jacoby said,
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: it's definitely a better quarterback in the NFL than Brian Horner.
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: You think so, Yeah, definitely.
- 1:28:57Speaker 2: I don't know Hoyer had. They both had good games
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: for the Browns. I think they're very similar.
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: I agree with you.
- 1:29:03Speaker 2: I'm not I'm not ready to pound the table and
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: tell your heart how is better? I just kind of.
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: I think Jacoby's just twenty twenty two with Cleveland's better
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: than anything I've seen Hoyer do in the NFL.
- 1:29:14Speaker 5: It's like Hoyer's twenty thirteen with Cleveland.
- 1:29:16Speaker 2: That was his life.
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: Yeah, and stretch like a couple of games, like.
- 1:29:22Speaker 5: Like he started to actually do well and then he
- 1:29:24Speaker 5: and yeah, yeah he had a good and then and
- 1:29:27Speaker 5: then tours a cl and and then got set back again.
- 1:29:31Speaker 4: Uh, colon Denver. Unfortunately, the team has chosen not to
- 1:29:34Speaker 4: do everything possible to sport support May as the week
- 1:29:37Speaker 4: one starter. Look at what Chicago has done to support
- 1:29:40Speaker 4: their rookie quarterback with premium player acquisitions and organizational commitment.
- 1:29:45Speaker 4: Must be nice. But that being said, I really hope
- 1:29:48Speaker 4: they start May week four against the Dolphins at home.
- 1:29:52Speaker 4: Two of the next three games. The away game is
- 1:29:55Speaker 4: on a neutral field in London.
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: It's the week before San Francisco.
- 1:30:00Speaker 4: I don't have the schedule in front of me.
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: Yeah, that's ironic. Yeah, maybe you should print them out.
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I have it. I have it. I have
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: a pretty good down to memory already.
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: I trust ever, San Francisco.
- 1:30:14Speaker 4: Week four, San Francisco.
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: So yeah, Week five.
- 1:30:16Speaker 4: So much for Cole's email, But anyway, he says, I
- 1:30:19Speaker 4: could be convinced that the September games are tough featuring
- 1:30:22Speaker 4: opponents like San Francisco in Cincinnati, but I'll be disappointed
- 1:30:26Speaker 4: if I don't see May start against Miami. I don't
- 1:30:29Speaker 4: want to watch Jacobe Brissett in October.
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: Good tone, good tone, so strong. I think people still
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: have an incredible amount of disrespect for the teams in
- 1:30:40Speaker 2: the AFC East, like Patriots fans like I understand the
- 1:30:45Speaker 2: tough teams like San Francisco and Cincinnati, but he should
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: be playing against Miami. Miami is a playoff team, yeah, right, yeah,
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: but they win eleven games.
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, that's why Miami is a good team.
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: That's why I think their schedule is so hard, to
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: be honest, is that they have six games against, right,
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: three teams that have not just playoff aspirations, but probably
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: Super Bowl aspirations, and and the Bills and the Dolphins
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: and the Jets. Like I it's not a bad division anymore.
- 1:31:13Speaker 2: The other division that they play in, the AFC, is
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: the worst of the four divisions though, the South. Right, Yep,
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: they played the AFC South. Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, So
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: I mean it's not it's not easy. What makes your
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: schedule tough, is you?
- 1:31:29Speaker 4: Right?
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: Like when the Patriots were rolling, this would be just
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: a schedule, right, you know, right now, like Evan says,
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: the other teams in the AFC East, you have six
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: games that used to be vastly superior than your opponent.
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: Now you're inferior to all three of them on paper.
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: With See, Mike, I don't waunch too mad at me.
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: You'll see what happened.
- 1:31:51Speaker 5: Im gonna tell me a record or something. Nope, don't, nope,
- 1:31:53Speaker 5: it's good.
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: Smart.
- 1:31:55Speaker 4: Kendall's in the UK On Catch twenty two, Evan said
- 1:31:58Speaker 4: that one of the benefits of the a VP scheme
- 1:32:01Speaker 4: is that it's offensive line friendly scheme due to all
- 1:32:04Speaker 4: the misdirections, et cetera, and therefore the left tackle won't
- 1:32:07Speaker 4: be exposed that much to one on one pass rush.
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: It's true.
- 1:32:10Speaker 4: With that in mind, has anyone analyzed how the left
- 1:32:13Speaker 4: tackles for the Browns got on last year?
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: I mean, I'm not really sure analyze what it means
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: by that, but yeah, I talked about this with the
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: Alex because you know, I understand where Alex is coming from,
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: and I'm sure most people probably agree with him that
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: left tackle is a major, glaring question mark, question mark weakness,
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: whatever you want to call it, on the roster. And
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: all I said is I just wasn't too as concerned
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: as other people are about it for two reasons. One,
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: I think schematically, they are not going to be this
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: come right at you football team anymore, where everything is
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: going to be you know, when they drop back to pass,
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: it's all going to be one on one pass rush
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: on the outside, and guys are going to be asked
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: to hold up twenty five times a game. I don't
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: think they're going to play like that anymore. The other
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: reason is something that I feel, like Paul, you've talked
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: about the quarterback matters, like you'd we all are just
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: assuming because of the quarterback play under pressure. We've seen
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: from Mac Jones over the last two years, that every
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: single quarterback is going to turn into a puddle at
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: the first sign of pressure. And the hope is is
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: that Drake May isn't that way. You know, he's not
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: going to be Brady. He's not gonna win with the
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: quick release. But he's athletic, and he's a big dude,
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: and he can move around, and he can extend plays
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: with his legs, and he can get outside the pocket,
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: and he can elude pressure, and he can absorb pressure
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: like so he's not The hope is is that he
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: is going to help mitigate some of the concern. Now,
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: if I had to point out the roster and say
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: what's the biggest hole on the team right now, it's
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: left tackle. It's still left tackle. But I'm not ready
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: to sit here and say they can't play. Drake's man critic,
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: they can't play.
- 1:33:50Speaker 2: I'm with Evan on the last part there in Cleveland
- 1:33:53Speaker 2: had a lot of injuries on their offensive line too
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: last year, and I think they were dealing with a
- 1:33:58Speaker 2: higher level of talent to start with. Now, I think
- 1:34:02Speaker 2: Will's got hurt. I think the Rica yeah still there.
- 1:34:09Speaker 2: I think he got hurt too.
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: Their right tackle definitely got hurt because Dwan Jones played there,
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: played yeah, and eventually changed something.
- 1:34:15Speaker 4: Now.
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: The other thing that I'll say to sort of counter
- 1:34:18Speaker 2: Evans's thing, and I agree with that they're going to
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: have a different style and all that, but I think
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: it's hard to scheme.
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: Around your line, you know.
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: So yeah, I think that what Alex Van Pelt likes
- 1:34:29Speaker 2: to do is probably more conducive to you know, better
- 1:34:34Speaker 2: pass protection, keep you know, protecting them a little bit.
- 1:34:36Speaker 2: But it's hard to me to scheme around left tackle
- 1:34:41Speaker 2: problems if you have it. And I remember talking to
- 1:34:45Speaker 2: Billy Oh a little bit early last year about that
- 1:34:48Speaker 2: and him talking about it like, yeah, you can do it.
- 1:34:51Speaker 2: You can definitely protect them. It's just it's a tough
- 1:34:53Speaker 2: way to live.
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: I just think it's harder, especially when you have a
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: quarterback who's not mobile, Like when you have a quarter
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: back that's comfortable throwing on the move and is comfortable
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: playing outside the pocket, not just talking about extending plays
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: but actually by design. Yeah, that it changes a whole
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: lot of you know, first and second down is not
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: going to just be pin your ears back and come
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: after Drake may because they're going to be able to
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: move the pocket where they weren't going to do that.
- 1:35:18Speaker 2: He should offer that, absolutely, he should offer some of
- 1:35:20Speaker 2: those plays you know, to buy design.
- 1:35:23Speaker 4: Yep, Eric and Maryland, somebody please get Edelman some acting lessons.
- 1:35:28Speaker 4: Hopefully Coach Mayo is better at winning games than he
- 1:35:31Speaker 4: is at acting. Gronk a plus get him an Oscar Evan.
- 1:35:35Speaker 4: Your dialogue was perfect, so you lush.
- 1:35:38Speaker 5: Your man card, but you're an act They a thespian Jewels.
- 1:35:42Speaker 3: Had a lot of lines, to be fair, Yeah that was.
- 1:35:44Speaker 2: The hard part.
- 1:35:44Speaker 4: I think he did fine too.
- 1:35:46Speaker 2: Yeah, you're not gonna you're not gonna hold it against them.
- 1:35:48Speaker 4: Yeah, let's see Keith and Connecticut love the schedule release.
- 1:35:53Speaker 4: Marcus Jones only had a couple of lines, but he
- 1:35:55Speaker 4: looks like he can act. In addition to returning punts,
- 1:35:58Speaker 4: play corner gadget guy and a singer. I did have
- 1:36:01Speaker 4: a quick question on Brady Day next month, and you
- 1:36:04Speaker 4: may have no idea, but I figured i'd ask you
- 1:36:07Speaker 4: to have any idea if the Patriots Express train will
- 1:36:10Speaker 4: be running from Boston to the stadium like it does
- 1:36:13Speaker 4: on game days. I don't know the answer to that,
- 1:36:15Speaker 4: but it's a good question. It's a good question, ef that. Yeah,
- 1:36:21Speaker 4: very good question. Let's see Brandon North Carolina ten out
- 1:36:28Speaker 4: of ten on the schedule release. You guys killed it.
- 1:36:30Speaker 4: It was cool seeing the crew from PU on there.
- 1:36:33Speaker 4: I really enjoyed it. Now as to the schedule, if
- 1:36:36Speaker 4: coach Mayo wanted to wait until the bye to let
- 1:36:38Speaker 4: May start, would week fourteen be too far out to
- 1:36:41Speaker 4: do that? Yes, I mean what's the point, I guess,
- 1:36:45Speaker 4: just to get him some wraps, some feet feet.
- 1:36:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that's late, but it's still full games.
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: I could see it.
- 1:36:51Speaker 5: I mean, what if they're kind of in the mix
- 1:36:53Speaker 5: and playing well and they're just like we we just
- 1:36:55Speaker 5: would look, we want to go for it, and then
- 1:36:57Speaker 5: you know, they kind of fall off there. The bye
- 1:37:00Speaker 5: week comes and it's like, okay, you know, we we
- 1:37:02Speaker 5: fought well, it's we're not gonna make the playoffs.
- 1:37:04Speaker 2: Now it's the time.
- 1:37:04Speaker 5: Let's get him four games. I'd feel okay with that,
- 1:37:06Speaker 5: I mean, not great, but I.
- 1:37:07Speaker 2: Would like him to play more than four games. But
- 1:37:09Speaker 2: I don't think four games is insignificant, right.
- 1:37:11Speaker 4: Especially against I would be really disappointed with the season
- 1:37:15Speaker 4: if we didn't get to see our third overall pick. Yes,
- 1:37:19Speaker 4: not playing until week fourteen or after. I understand wanting
- 1:37:21Speaker 4: to wait until he's ready or the team around him
- 1:37:24Speaker 4: is ready, but I feel sometimes it's better to see
- 1:37:26Speaker 4: how well he responds if those things aren't great ye,
- 1:37:29Speaker 4: and see if he can be the factor to pull
- 1:37:31Speaker 4: the team up.
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: I think there's something to be said for that.
- 1:37:33Speaker 5: Do you think there's something to be said too, for
- 1:37:35Speaker 5: like getting him reps against Buffalo, a team in the
- 1:37:38Speaker 5: division that he's gonna see consistently and you know, start
- 1:37:41Speaker 5: to get a feel for. I mean, obviously with the
- 1:37:43Speaker 5: way that it's playing out, I mean Miami two weeks
- 1:37:46Speaker 5: before the buye, but you know, it seems like that
- 1:37:48Speaker 5: might be a nice little thing to get too, is
- 1:37:50Speaker 5: let him see some of these defenses that he's gonna
- 1:37:52Speaker 5: have to go against in the division, which is you know,
- 1:37:54Speaker 5: the most important games.
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I just feel like that last month of the
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: season two maybe even if he doesn't get in until
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: those last four games. If you can build something in
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: those last four games where you head into the off
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: season feeling pretty good about how he's playing, how the
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: offense looks, and all that kind of stuff, then you
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: ride that momentum into the off season. You know, you
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: make some more moves in the off season, and then
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: in twenty twenty five, it's you hit the ground running.
- 1:38:20Speaker 4: You know, I'm starting to get into the camp of
- 1:38:23Speaker 4: if he looks like he gets it, start him right away. Yeah,
- 1:38:27Speaker 4: just put him out there.
- 1:38:29Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, sure.
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: I've never never understood what the hesitation is. If he
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: looks the part, let him experience the rookie wall.
- 1:38:36Speaker 4: That's another thing, you know.
- 1:38:39Speaker 2: Along those lines.
- 1:38:39Speaker 5: I finally caught some of the Tommy Kerrn he went
- 1:38:41Speaker 5: on with Taylor Kyle's and man, he's carving out his
- 1:38:45Speaker 5: space with JJ McCarthy.
- 1:38:47Speaker 4: And interesting that you say that you almost read the
- 1:38:50Speaker 4: email Junior and Canton adding onto the tom current discourse
- 1:38:54Speaker 4: from last episode. The more I hear him talk on
- 1:38:56Speaker 4: other platforms, the more it's clear his controversial mini camp
- 1:39:01Speaker 4: evaluation of May comes from his pre draft of valuations.
- 1:39:05Speaker 4: He's clearly been infected by McCarthyism, as Jim Murray likes
- 1:39:09Speaker 4: to and thinks JJ is the better quarterback now and
- 1:39:12Speaker 4: thinks their upsides are similar. It's perfectly reasonable to be
- 1:39:16Speaker 4: scared of May's floor and to be more comfortable drafting McCarthy.
- 1:39:19Speaker 4: But even May's biggest haters would admit that if he
- 1:39:23Speaker 4: lives up to his potential, then you have a quarterback
- 1:39:25Speaker 4: who can compete with anyone. Kurrent made it clear that
- 1:39:28Speaker 4: he didn't see that upside with May.
- 1:39:30Speaker 5: Yeah, I want to steal Evans thing. I'll set you
- 1:39:32Speaker 5: up though, Evan. I thought it was a great point
- 1:39:33Speaker 5: he made at some point.
- 1:39:34Speaker 2: But it's that J. J.
- 1:39:35Speaker 5: McCarthy's gonna have a little bit better supporting cast right
- 1:39:38Speaker 5: out of the gate, and kind of known he's probably
- 1:39:39Speaker 5: gonna play sooner. And so it does sound like it's
- 1:39:42Speaker 5: gonna set up where, you know, by like mid September,
- 1:39:44Speaker 5: Tommy Kerent's gonna be walking around me like see I
- 1:39:47Speaker 5: told you, you know, like that's but it's, you know,
- 1:39:49Speaker 5: it's obviously a long, a long process.
- 1:39:51Speaker 2: So I don't know.
- 1:39:51Speaker 5: I just I mean, I mean, I give him credit
- 1:39:55Speaker 5: for you know, for.
- 1:39:56Speaker 4: Being he leaves stand by it.
- 1:39:58Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, sure, I just I mean I just the
- 1:40:01Speaker 5: part of me that I can't reconcile is that I
- 1:40:03Speaker 5: don't know how you look at Drake May and say, eh, like,
- 1:40:07Speaker 5: how have you watched Josh Allen and these guys and
- 1:40:10Speaker 5: not think like, like we said, he's worth missing on,
- 1:40:12Speaker 5: Like you.
- 1:40:12Speaker 2: Know, that's what I see. My worry with Tom is
- 1:40:16Speaker 2: what the emailer alluded to, Like, Okay, so that's your
- 1:40:19Speaker 2: pre draft thought. I don't hold that against anyone because
- 1:40:22Speaker 2: everybody was all over the map. But I'm more concerned
- 1:40:26Speaker 2: about what he thought on Rookie Mini Camp?
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: Was it May eleventh?
- 1:40:32Speaker 2: I'm a little bit more like, is that when you
- 1:40:35Speaker 2: seeing something you wanted to see because of what you
- 1:40:37Speaker 2: thought going in? Or are you telling us what you
- 1:40:39Speaker 2: actually saw? Again, this is not my evaluation. I didn't
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: see any of it. I wasn't there, So I'm trusting
- 1:40:46Speaker 2: you guys who all and I put independently. Yeah, I
- 1:40:49Speaker 2: put Tamara in that group. You guys all thought the same,
- 1:40:52Speaker 2: you all felt the same.
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: We didn't even watch practice together or anything.
- 1:40:57Speaker 2: So I didn't really see anyone critical of the way
- 1:41:01Speaker 2: that Drake May threw the ball an at the Rookie
- 1:41:04Speaker 2: Mini Camp other than Tom and I'm wondering if that
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: was because of his predisposed opinion.
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: I just I think I am a little bit. I've
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: seen I saw Drake May throw it his pro day,
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: so I've seen that already. I don't know if you know,
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: but it was like, hey, what's up, But like I yeah,
- 1:41:25Speaker 1: but I saw him at his pro day, so I've
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: seen him un cork it like I've seen him put
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: on a show for where he's on this showcase in
- 1:41:34Speaker 1: this platform to be like show off, like show off
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: a little bit. Well, we saw Rookie Mini Camp. Was
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: him dial down.
- 1:41:41Speaker 5: To one right like he has taken the profit kind
- 1:41:44Speaker 5: of Yeah, in the drills like just throwing the hitches,
- 1:41:46Speaker 5: we just did not see.
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: We didn't see Joe Milton take out the driver like
- 1:41:51Speaker 1: he wasn't throwing it seventy five yards in the air.
- 1:41:53Speaker 1: And we didn't see Drake May really ramp it up
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: the tete. And I've seen Drake Joe Milton do it
- 1:41:59Speaker 1: at the Senior and I saw Drake May do it
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: at his pro day. So when I watched him with
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: Ricky Mini Camp, I was like, they've got the trading
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: wheels on him right now, Like this is a subdued
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: version of both.
- 1:42:09Speaker 2: Guys reference.
- 1:42:12Speaker 4: Zach in Pennsylvania. Earlier, we were talking about eating bad food,
- 1:42:17Speaker 4: he says. In college about ten years ago, I had
- 1:42:19Speaker 4: a friend that worked at Walmart. He and a coworker
- 1:42:22Speaker 4: would eat the deli meat that had to be thrown
- 1:42:24Speaker 4: out that day. They ended up not only being fired,
- 1:42:27Speaker 4: but actually being sued by Walmart and had to pay
- 1:42:30Speaker 4: back around three thousand dollars each. How much meat did
- 1:42:34Speaker 4: they eat?
- 1:42:34Speaker 3: That's just ridiculous.
- 1:42:37Speaker 2: They got fined.
- 1:42:40Speaker 3: We need to start holding these stores and brands accountable.
- 1:42:44Speaker 4: That's not Yeah, but I got a feeling that there's more.
- 1:42:46Speaker 4: I think they were not just eating meat that was
- 1:42:50Speaker 4: that's a lot of money. They were stealing food.
- 1:42:54Speaker 3: But the point remains that like like designers do this too.
- 1:42:57Speaker 3: If they're throwing away stuff that doesn't sell, instead of
- 1:43:00Speaker 3: donating it, they destroy it and put it.
- 1:43:03Speaker 4: Well, they don't want their you know, clothing out there that.
- 1:43:06Speaker 3: So don't be so wasteful. I get your operation together.
- 1:43:10Speaker 5: I couldn't believe the amount of food that got thrown
- 1:43:13Speaker 5: out at like the studios I worked at when we
- 1:43:15Speaker 5: were on shows, and they would have like a full
- 1:43:17Speaker 5: catered meal and like a quarter of it would get
- 1:43:19Speaker 5: eaten and they would just throw it out, and I
- 1:43:21Speaker 5: would be like, there's like twenty five homeless people right
- 1:43:24Speaker 5: along that road right there, Like why why can't there
- 1:43:27Speaker 5: be away?
- 1:43:28Speaker 2: That's Mike's version if you you were at Drake Mays prote.
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: I was trying to help in the studio.
- 1:43:33Speaker 5: I was trying to help the in Hollywood, I know,
- 1:43:36Speaker 5: and I brought it up too much in the show.
- 1:43:37Speaker 5: But like I was like, and they're like, well, no, legally,
- 1:43:39Speaker 5: we can't. We can't do that because someone I'm like,
- 1:43:42Speaker 5: you're just towing out all that.
- 1:43:43Speaker 2: It's not so many people.
- 1:43:44Speaker 3: They do it with, so I don't understand it. Like
- 1:43:46Speaker 3: I saw a TikTok the other day of it's a
- 1:43:48Speaker 3: dumpster outside of Petcoat and it's a bunch of dog beds, destroyed,
- 1:43:52Speaker 3: cut up. They couldn't have gone to a shelter. I don't.
- 1:43:55Speaker 5: Can I get another topic just to throw out there?
- 1:43:57Speaker 5: This is something that bothers me so much. I'm sorry,
- 1:43:59Speaker 5: So I really don't my gear, No, But but does
- 1:44:01Speaker 5: it bother you guys?
- 1:44:03Speaker 2: Where does all the trash go? Where does all this
- 1:44:05Speaker 2: trash go?
- 1:44:05Speaker 1: The ocean, the Atlantic ocean.
- 1:44:07Speaker 2: Is it really really we.
- 1:44:09Speaker 3: Send it, they burn it, or it goes into the ocean.
- 1:44:12Speaker 5: That's it.
- 1:44:13Speaker 4: All of it goes into landfill.
- 1:44:15Speaker 3: Most recycling doesn't get recycled, right, I know that.
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: But it's definitely something that I just see so much trash.
- 1:44:21Speaker 2: Every trash I always thought was landfill. I thought Fred
- 1:44:23Speaker 2: was right, every le.
- 1:44:24Speaker 4: Dump it in the ocean. So much train stuff gets
- 1:44:26Speaker 4: in there. I'm not saying that it doesn't.
- 1:44:28Speaker 3: Stuff gets shipped off and burn.
- 1:44:29Speaker 1: Burn makes sense, okay.
- 1:44:31Speaker 6: And in many cases drive through Johnston, Rhode Island, they
- 1:44:35Speaker 6: burn in the trash.
- 1:44:36Speaker 2: New Jersey on or something. I don't know.
- 1:44:38Speaker 5: It's just that always like whenever I'm going like trash
- 1:44:40Speaker 5: Day and I'm like, there's so much trategy.
- 1:44:43Speaker 1: And it's like where does it all go?
- 1:44:44Speaker 5: Or like when you throw something out, I'm like, what
- 1:44:46Speaker 5: is going to become of this battery I'm throwing out?
- 1:44:48Speaker 2: Right, I know, maybe not supposed to throw up.
- 1:44:49Speaker 4: Well, that's that's a good one, because yeah, the battery
- 1:44:53Speaker 4: sixty minutes to the thing. There's this place in China,
- 1:44:56Speaker 4: Like it's a town in China where all this all
- 1:44:59Speaker 4: the batteries go all a bat and like it is
- 1:45:01Speaker 4: the most toxic place on earth.
- 1:45:04Speaker 3: And that's why like the electric carving, like, yeah, I
- 1:45:07Speaker 3: want kind of want a tesla, but still like people
- 1:45:09Speaker 3: talk about how it's so much better than gas. It's like,
- 1:45:12Speaker 3: do you know who the people are mining to make
- 1:45:15Speaker 3: the batteries that are.
- 1:45:16Speaker 5: Going into those like blood diamonds?
- 1:45:18Speaker 3: Yeah, if not worse that movie, And those batteries never
- 1:45:22Speaker 3: will ever disintegrate, They'll never biodegrade like they're here forever.
- 1:45:27Speaker 2: Single use plastic. Really that that too, I'm just like.
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: Oh, I like it a string sound of a water bottle.
- 1:45:33Speaker 4: Anthony writes, just like what mowing the grass is by
- 1:45:37Speaker 4: far the most enjoyable of the household chores, and Evan,
- 1:45:40Speaker 4: you truly missed out. This begs another question, what is
- 1:45:44Speaker 4: the worst household shore Personally? I hate washing dishes, dishes.
- 1:45:47Speaker 4: I don't want to touch other people's gunk, drain their
- 1:45:50Speaker 4: backwash from a cup, or scoop out the draincatcher. Give
- 1:45:53Speaker 4: me a million lawns over one dinner.
- 1:45:55Speaker 2: Clean up, toilet, clean the toilet, bathroom, bathroom clean, socks,
- 1:46:00Speaker 2: deuce you get the we get.
- 1:46:02Speaker 5: A person comes once a month and just bathrooms and
- 1:46:05Speaker 5: kitchen can't hide money over there.
- 1:46:08Speaker 1: I like dishes. I don't know. I like washing the dishes.
- 1:46:14Speaker 2: I do the dishes every night, do the dishes. I
- 1:46:18Speaker 2: put them in the before anybody makes fire. I put
- 1:46:21Speaker 2: them in the dish.
- 1:46:21Speaker 4: Okay, well you're not doing that.
- 1:46:23Speaker 2: You're not doing but clearing the tape that he said,
- 1:46:26Speaker 2: I give me a thousand lawns over clearing the table.
- 1:46:29Speaker 2: I clear the table every night. You clear the table,
- 1:46:31Speaker 2: and I and I do rinse the Yes.
- 1:46:36Speaker 4: I actually read like if you have a good dish
- 1:46:38Speaker 4: water not supposed to say don't.
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: But I don't want food in the in the dish.
- 1:46:42Speaker 4: It won't be in there, it goes down.
- 1:46:45Speaker 2: You have to do what he just said and clean
- 1:46:46Speaker 2: out the trap.
- 1:46:49Speaker 6: You're not doing the dishes. What about doing laundry. It's
- 1:46:51Speaker 6: the same thing.
- 1:46:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I do the laundry all the time. Dish I
- 1:46:56Speaker 2: don't like doing.
- 1:46:57Speaker 4: I don't mind it. I don't mind doing the laundry.
- 1:46:59Speaker 2: It's folding it. Yeah, that thing like yeah, see, not
- 1:47:04Speaker 2: surprisingly to you, guys. I have arguments with you do
- 1:47:07Speaker 2: the laundry, but it's taking the resolution. The hard part
- 1:47:12Speaker 2: is folding, right.
- 1:47:13Speaker 5: Yeah, I think though, I think Paul that's like master
- 1:47:15Speaker 5: level husbandry and his husband being But like, I think
- 1:47:18Speaker 5: doing the dishes is one of the secrets to like
- 1:47:20Speaker 5: good marriage, because that's just laundry.
- 1:47:22Speaker 2: It's such a heart its time task.
- 1:47:24Speaker 5: And I actually got scolded this morning for not doing
- 1:47:26Speaker 5: enough and the dishes front. So I do think anyone
- 1:47:29Speaker 5: thinking to get married soon evan, just clean the dishes.
- 1:47:32Speaker 5: If you stay on top of the dishes, you'll you'll
- 1:47:34Speaker 5: earn a lot of goods.
- 1:47:35Speaker 2: Well.
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: Jess cooks, I clean after.
- 1:47:38Speaker 2: And that's that's our thing. Beth always has dinner ready
- 1:47:41Speaker 2: and I always wear the dishes.
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: Yeah, and I I'm you don't want me to cook,
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: Like it's not that I I'm so jersey, I'm so
- 1:47:49Speaker 1: bad at it that you don't want me to cook.
- 1:47:51Speaker 4: So you're one of those people purposely do it bad
- 1:47:54Speaker 4: so no one asks you.
- 1:47:55Speaker 2: No, That's how I used to cut the hedges. In
- 1:47:57Speaker 2: my house.
- 1:47:57Speaker 1: There's only father, only I do the cook it. The
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: only thing that I cook is like you know, if
- 1:48:04Speaker 1: we have like her mom for Thanksgiving or something like
- 1:48:06Speaker 1: the turkey, like you know, that's like those types of
- 1:48:09Speaker 1: big basis. Yeah, Like I I feel like grill. Yeah,
- 1:48:14Speaker 1: And I grill and I grill, but like on a
- 1:48:17Speaker 1: nightly basis, you know, like tonight, Like tonight.
- 1:48:22Speaker 5: I'm living that air fire life too.
- 1:48:23Speaker 2: That thing's great. I just got one of those. That's
- 1:48:25Speaker 2: a life changer.
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I love it.
- 1:48:29Speaker 4: Sebastian also clean that Sebastian from Clifton, New Jersey as
- 1:48:33Speaker 4: an out of market fan. I'm pretty upset about this schedule,
- 1:48:36Speaker 4: and upset I normally watch those local games. He hasn't
- 1:48:40Speaker 4: quotes on replay, but I love watching it live on
- 1:48:43Speaker 4: the four o'clock slots or primetime. No, I hate the
- 1:48:46Speaker 4: days I can't watch other games because I'm afraid of
- 1:48:49Speaker 4: seeing the score or replay. Coincidentally, I love watching football
- 1:48:53Speaker 4: when we're not playing, but now I have to stay
- 1:48:56Speaker 4: offline until it's up on replay.
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: AnyWho, that seems like a very much. That's a problem.
- 1:49:02Speaker 4: I can't see a way of winning more than four
- 1:49:05Speaker 4: games this year, and that's me being optimistic.
- 1:49:08Speaker 5: Let us some guys are really good that you didn't expect.
- 1:49:10Speaker 4: Right, Let's keep Drake on the sidelines until we have
- 1:49:13Speaker 4: a proven protection on the line, and if Jacobe goes down,
- 1:49:17Speaker 4: I'm on the side of playing Milton if he plays
- 1:49:19Speaker 4: good enough, maybe someone will offer something worth our consideration.
- 1:49:23Speaker 4: If he's bad. Top three pick guarantee.
- 1:49:25Speaker 1: We can't play Drake May because the line might be bad, Paul,
- 1:49:30Speaker 1: we can't do it.
- 1:49:31Speaker 2: I agree with you on that, as I said earlier,
- 1:49:33Speaker 2: but like, can someone explain to me the logic behind
- 1:49:37Speaker 2: playing Joe Milton over over Drake.
- 1:49:43Speaker 1: The logic is is that you're feeding Joe Milton to
- 1:49:45Speaker 1: the walls, right, and not Drake May because God forbid,
- 1:49:48Speaker 1: Drake May actually like elevate the people around show.
- 1:49:51Speaker 2: But my personal feelings about that draft pick, which we
- 1:49:54Speaker 2: don't need to relitigate, yes we do, why would you
- 1:49:58Speaker 2: not treat your players like actual players, like you drafted
- 1:50:04Speaker 2: them both. I understand that there's much more expected of
- 1:50:06Speaker 2: Drake May. I'm not naive, but you shouldn't just say, well,
- 1:50:09Speaker 2: we'll just throw him to the wolves. He's a rookie
- 1:50:12Speaker 2: sixth round pick and the other guy's a rookie first
- 1:50:15Speaker 2: round pick. What Like, I don't really understand that logic.
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: I feel like, and I mean this sincerely, I feel
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: like Mac Jones and the whole Mac Jones thing has
- 1:50:25Speaker 1: just broken people's brains to think that if the situation
- 1:50:28Speaker 1: around the quarterback is an absolutely perfect in every single
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: area of the team that the quarterback isn't gonna be
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: able to succeed. Where this, Drake May needs to be
- 1:50:39Speaker 1: a better player than Mac Jones was like, that's the hope,
- 1:50:42Speaker 1: that's the goal here. And if you just think that
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: it's only gonna work if everything around him, the left
- 1:50:47Speaker 1: tackle is Joe Thomas and the receivers Jamar Chase, Like,
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: it's just not we're gonna be in for It's gonna
- 1:50:52Speaker 1: be ten years before.
- 1:50:53Speaker 2: Joe Milton is better than Drake May. That should be
- 1:50:56Speaker 2: the only reason he plays over Drake May, right, in
- 1:51:00Speaker 2: my mind, if he's better.
- 1:51:02Speaker 4: Gary writes in about playing May late in the season,
- 1:51:07Speaker 4: get him some cold weather game experience. He only knows
- 1:51:09Speaker 4: North Carolina.
- 1:51:10Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a good question. That was the one that
- 1:51:12Speaker 5: I didn't really hear asked.
- 1:51:13Speaker 2: I would just be curious.
- 1:51:14Speaker 5: I mean, I'm sure I kind of know what he
- 1:51:15Speaker 5: would say, but he just hasn't really played in the
- 1:51:17Speaker 5: cold that much. I mean, maybe you'd know more. Meet
- 1:51:19Speaker 5: Paul College.
- 1:51:20Speaker 1: Nothing.
- 1:51:21Speaker 2: No, I don't know if he has any experience. I
- 1:51:22Speaker 2: think he said something about it when he was with
- 1:51:24Speaker 2: us didn't he.
- 1:51:25Speaker 1: He's played in a few rain games, but not not
- 1:51:28Speaker 1: anything in the cold snow wins.
- 1:51:30Speaker 3: I mean, well those last isn't it? Last last two
- 1:51:33Speaker 3: games are home games.
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: Yep, those cold Yep. That's not another game in a
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: game in Buffalo. Yeah.
- 1:51:38Speaker 4: So Andrew watching from the UK, so not as tuned
- 1:51:45Speaker 4: in as you guys, But I'm quietly optimistic about the
- 1:51:48Speaker 4: season ahead. My thinking is, regardless of how terrible last
- 1:51:51Speaker 4: season was, we were in many games for long periods,
- 1:51:55Speaker 4: and if it weren't for catastrophic errors from Mac, we
- 1:51:58Speaker 4: could have been closer to a five team. I honestly
- 1:52:01Speaker 4: think will turn a few teams over that were not
- 1:52:04Speaker 4: expected to Week one versus the Bengals will be closer
- 1:52:07Speaker 4: than people think. There you go, it could be right.
- 1:52:10Speaker 1: I agree with that last part. I think that they
- 1:52:12Speaker 1: have a chance to hang in there with the Bengals
- 1:52:14Speaker 1: for sure.
- 1:52:14Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I mean like they did last year with Philly.
- 1:52:17Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, exact same kind of game. Week one always weird.
- 1:52:21Speaker 4: Anyway, Gordon, my email by phone has been a little
- 1:52:25Speaker 4: My email by phone has been a little wonky. I
- 1:52:27Speaker 4: don't know what that means. It's not a question is
- 1:52:29Speaker 4: with eighteen games being inevitable and player depth being a
- 1:52:33Speaker 4: really serious issue moving forward. Do you guys ever see
- 1:52:36Speaker 4: a system in the NFL developing where there's a quarterback
- 1:52:40Speaker 4: plays three quarters and then a quarterback that comes in
- 1:52:43Speaker 4: and closes the game out. I know it works because
- 1:52:46Speaker 4: the opposing team builds a rhythm with one pitcher so
- 1:52:50Speaker 4: they can hit the ball late and also has arm
- 1:52:53Speaker 4: tends to wear out later in the game. If you
- 1:52:56Speaker 4: had two quarterbacks that have similar styles, could some sort
- 1:52:58Speaker 4: of closer system be yable?
- 1:53:01Speaker 2: I don't know why you would want it to be.
- 1:53:03Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean basically, what two thousand and four they
- 1:53:06Speaker 4: had a closer. It was Corey Dillon.
- 1:53:08Speaker 2: There you go.
- 1:53:09Speaker 4: You know, so the quarterback remains the same, but you
- 1:53:12Speaker 4: just start pounding the ball and the quarterback's not throwing anymore.
- 1:53:15Speaker 2: But I mean, how many teams have a good quarterback
- 1:53:19Speaker 2: and they have another one who's just as good.
- 1:53:21Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:53:21Speaker 1: Right, if you have two quarterbacks, you have your quarterback.
- 1:53:23Speaker 5: That's true, Johnny's just he's clutched. He's more clutched, so
- 1:53:26Speaker 5: he's going to play the four.
- 1:53:27Speaker 2: But I don't know why you would want your you know,
- 1:53:30Speaker 2: why would you want Patrick mahomes to only play the
- 1:53:32Speaker 2: first three quarters.
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: I mean this obviously the two quarterback stuff mostly happens
- 1:53:37Speaker 1: in college when you have like a runner running quarterback.
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: But even then it's not for that reason. No, it's tyl.
- 1:53:43Speaker 2: Yeah, guys will switch, you know, and take different play
- 1:53:45Speaker 2: and then they might go with whoever had the hot
- 1:53:47Speaker 2: hand in that game, but they're not playing one guy
- 1:53:50Speaker 2: for three quarters and that's it. You did a great job,
- 1:53:52Speaker 2: we got a four point lead. You sit down. Now.
- 1:53:54Speaker 2: The closures doesn't worrk.
- 1:53:56Speaker 5: I mean, look at even look at Brady and what
- 1:53:57Speaker 5: he went through in college. It's just these guys they
- 1:53:59Speaker 5: want to play. That might be the biggest barrier to
- 1:54:02Speaker 5: me is just the mental focus of these guys, like
- 1:54:06Speaker 5: they're not gonna be able to score.
- 1:54:07Speaker 2: Nobody's gonna enjoy it that it's a.
- 1:54:08Speaker 4: Close game, you're closer. It has to almost be better
- 1:54:10Speaker 4: than your start, because you now need.
- 1:54:12Speaker 2: To saying, how many teams have a good quarterback, right,
- 1:54:14Speaker 2: and then another one who's just as good. Otherwise you're
- 1:54:18Speaker 2: putting in an inferior player.
- 1:54:19Speaker 5: Right, he's not quite as good, but he's just more
- 1:54:21Speaker 5: way more clutch, and we just like him under press.
- 1:54:23Speaker 5: He's better under pressure.
- 1:54:24Speaker 2: I don't know how you'd even quantify.
- 1:54:26Speaker 4: It, right, Okay, so not a good question. I'm sorry.
- 1:54:29Speaker 2: Yeah, tough. And the baseball thing doesn't work obviously because
- 1:54:33Speaker 2: the starting picture gets tired. That's why he comes out
- 1:54:35Speaker 2: of the game.
- 1:54:37Speaker 4: All right, Well, listen, we're gonna end the show. Appreciate
