- 2:01Speaker 2: over there, Hey have a question for you. Yeah. I
- 2:06Speaker 2: remember last week when we reviewed Mistletoe Murders and I
- 2:09Speaker 2: was like, I want to make an edit. Oh yeah,
- 2:13Speaker 2: So I made one. I didn't technically make it. I
- 2:17Speaker 2: paid my teenage daughter's friend to make it. Love it
- 2:21Speaker 2: like knows how to do it. They're a way around
- 2:24Speaker 2: how to make an edit. And I gotta say it
- 2:27Speaker 2: came out really well. I'm so excited because if you
- 2:32Speaker 2: want to see it, it is on our Instagram in
- 2:34Speaker 2: the reels. It currently has twenty point two thousand views.
- 2:39Speaker 2: That's wild, isn't it? And the Sarah Drew also shared it,
- 2:43Speaker 2: which made me super excited. Yeah, she did. She knows
- 2:46Speaker 2: she's a baddie. Yeah, I just that was like, the
- 2:51Speaker 2: edit came out perfect. It was exactly how it was
- 2:54Speaker 2: feeling after watching episodes one and two. So she fully
- 2:58Speaker 2: delivered on your vision, she did. Yeah, it was great.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Oh son, I'm very excited about it. But let's talk
- 3:08Speaker 2: episodes three and four? Are you ready for a synopsis?
- 3:11Speaker 2: Hit me? After a string of suspicious accidents, Emily goes
- 3:18Speaker 2: undercover in the local choir to investigate. Sam, however, remains skeptical.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Violet takes on more responsibility at the shop. When the
- 3:28Speaker 2: choir attacks escalate, Emily and Sam grow closer as they
- 3:32Speaker 2: work together to find the culprit. Emily helps a Violet
- 3:34Speaker 2: out of a precarious situation by tapping into her dark past. Hmmm. Interesting.
- 3:43Speaker 2: We have some new news and notes for this episode.
- 3:46Speaker 2: We're not going to run back everything from the previous episode,
- 3:49Speaker 2: but we do have a new director for episodes three
- 3:52Speaker 2: and four. Sherry White directed these episodes. Sherry is a writer,
- 3:56Speaker 2: a director, and a producer, having written and produced other
- 3:59Speaker 2: crime shows like dur In a Small Town and Law
- 4:01Speaker 2: and Order Toronto Criminal Intent. Michelle Ricci wrote episodes three
- 4:06Speaker 2: and four. She's written for quite a few mystery series,
- 4:09Speaker 2: both on Hallmark and elsewhere, with projects like Curious Cater,
- 4:12Speaker 2: Frankie Drake Mysteries, Murdoch Mysteries, and Private Eyes. Heyo reincarnated
- 4:18Speaker 2: Brandon Walsh yep joining the cast for episodes three and four.
- 4:22Speaker 2: We have Raven Dauda as Debbie Brannigan. Raven also voiced
- 4:26Speaker 2: a character in three episodes of the Mistletoe Murders podcast series,
- 4:29Speaker 2: among her one hundred and eight acting credits. Her credits
- 4:33Speaker 2: also include shows like Five Days of Memorial, Spellbound, and
- 4:37Speaker 2: Hudson and Rex. David Delancey Wilson plays His name is
- 4:42Speaker 2: David Delancey Wilson and he plays Lance Indeed Wow. David
- 4:47Speaker 2: was in twenty twenty threes, Catch Me If You Clause,
- 4:49Speaker 2: as well as Headson and Rex and Murdoch Mysteries. Additional
- 4:52Speaker 2: cast members in these episodes include Arlene Duncan as Via
- 4:55Speaker 2: and Jamie Spilchuk as Adam Jamison. We're gonna take a
- 4:59Speaker 2: very quick wake can come right back with our first
- 5:01Speaker 2: impressions of Peril of the Bells. Before we get into
- 5:12Speaker 2: our first impressions, a reminder to the listeners that we
- 5:15Speaker 2: made the decision to combine our reviews, so we did
- 5:18Speaker 2: episodes one and two together, episodes three and four, and
- 5:21Speaker 2: then we will be doing episodes five and six because
- 5:23Speaker 2: that's how the stories are told. Yeah. I feel like
- 5:26Speaker 2: the listeners failed us. They should have told us that before, right,
- 5:29Speaker 2: and we've made our schedule. Yeah, No, it's fool. It's cool,
- 5:34Speaker 2: it's cool. I like that we're doing it this way.
- 5:36Speaker 2: It makes it makes it easier on our end. I agree,
- 5:40Speaker 2: and I like the show. That the show is developed
- 5:42Speaker 2: this way. I think it makes a ton of sense.
- 5:52Speaker 2: What is your first impression of Peril of the Bells.
- 5:55Speaker 2: My first impression is, I don't know what's more dangerous,
- 5:58Speaker 2: the dark web or the choir room. My first impression is,
- 6:04Speaker 2: is this choir cursed or just caddie all? My goodness?
- 6:10Speaker 2: Real Housewives of Fletcher grows growth? Is that what it's
- 6:14Speaker 2: called their town Fletcher's growth is Indeed, these women don't
- 6:20Speaker 2: have enough things to do in their lives. It's pretty funny.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Let's talk what we liked. For me, the number one
- 6:28Speaker 2: thing that I loved about these two episodes was Sarah
- 6:32Speaker 2: Drew's monologue at the end of episode two, when she
- 6:37Speaker 2: reveals to Sam about her parents' death. It hits all
- 6:42Speaker 2: the right emotional beats when she says Christmas was the
- 6:45Speaker 2: last happy time in my life. It was just a
- 6:49Speaker 2: gut punch in the best way possible. And it's starting
- 6:53Speaker 2: to tie together some of Emily's backstory, which gives into
- 7:00Speaker 2: understanding why she is who she is. It was the
- 7:05Speaker 2: perfectly placed emotional payoff at the end of this two
- 7:09Speaker 2: parts two parts episodes. I have an interesting, potentially interesting
- 7:13Speaker 2: take on that scene. I loved it too. I thought
- 7:16Speaker 2: it was incredibly well done by Sarah Drew. I thought
- 7:18Speaker 2: emotionally it hit But the skeptic in me wondered, is
- 7:21Speaker 2: she telling the truth? Mmmm? We don't actually know her backstory.
- 7:26Speaker 2: We did see glimpses of her looking at the family photos.
- 7:28Speaker 2: We know something that's going on there. She did mention
- 7:32Speaker 2: those being happy memories when she pulled them out of
- 7:35Speaker 2: that briefcase, right, But I almost wondered, either is she
- 7:40Speaker 2: telling the truth or is she selectively telling the truth here?
- 7:44Speaker 2: That's a really interesting thought and one I had not
- 7:49Speaker 2: considered because why would she give so much of herself
- 7:52Speaker 2: up if she's so private, worried, worried about exposing herself. Yeah,
- 7:59Speaker 2: because we don't know her past, and Sam is a
- 8:03Speaker 2: uniquely positioned to access that information should he choose to
- 8:08Speaker 2: do so. And so I almost wondered, if you know,
- 8:12Speaker 2: she was so closed off and he's like, something's going
- 8:15Speaker 2: on here, but clearly you're not interested, And I almost
- 8:20Speaker 2: I really want to just take it at face value,
- 8:22Speaker 2: but I was like, she freaked out. She realizes she's
- 8:25Speaker 2: gonna have to give him something or he's gonna be
- 8:27Speaker 2: like googling her in his whole police machine interesting, and
- 8:33Speaker 2: then he's gonna be like, this person does not actually
- 8:35Speaker 2: exist prior to twenty twenty four. So maybe if she
- 8:40Speaker 2: gives him this information, he feels like he doesn't need
- 8:42Speaker 2: to do that question for you. You didn't listen to
- 8:45Speaker 2: the podcast. I did not, okay, because I was like,
- 8:48Speaker 2: do you know, I don't know I know something. I
- 8:50Speaker 2: don't know, I don't know anything. I was actually considering
- 8:53Speaker 2: once this is over, listening to the podcast because it's
- 8:58Speaker 2: got a great cast. Colby Smolders is in it. I
- 9:01Speaker 2: can't think of a single other name's in it off
- 9:03Speaker 2: the top of my head, but I remember thinking it
- 9:05Speaker 2: had a good cast, so I may listen. But no,
- 9:08Speaker 2: I don't know anything. That was just the impression I got.
- 9:10Speaker 2: I was like, this is so lovely, but wait wait yeah,
- 9:15Speaker 2: I my little like hair stood up on my neck.
- 9:19Speaker 2: When she cut her hand on the trunk, I was like, oh, no,
- 9:24Speaker 2: her DNA has been on there now, and what if
- 9:27Speaker 2: that comes back into play somehow of like whose DNA
- 9:30Speaker 2: is it is? This? Of course, then we see a
- 9:32Speaker 2: play out that Vera also cut her hand and I
- 9:35Speaker 2: was like, okay, well maybe that's what they're doing there.
- 9:38Speaker 2: But I was like, what if that is the tell
- 9:41Speaker 2: of who Emily actually is? Look at you? Yeah, I
- 9:45Speaker 2: don't know. Watching too mini mysteries this summer a like
- 9:51Speaker 2: that I had. On a much lighter note. Last episode,
- 9:54Speaker 2: I got my wish. I was asking for more Brooke
- 9:56Speaker 2: and I predicted that she was going to be involved
- 9:59Speaker 2: in a up coming crime and I was correct. There
- 10:03Speaker 2: she delivered in exactly the way I wanted her too.
- 10:06Speaker 2: This is exactly the person I wanted Brooke to be
- 10:08Speaker 2: in this series. She has lines like two glasses of rose,
- 10:13Speaker 2: sucrew it's off for what the hell, let's go Cork.
- 10:19Speaker 2: I also love when she finally gets that solo moment
- 10:23Speaker 2: when Vera is taken away. She she like celebrates a
- 10:28Speaker 2: little bit. She's like, that isn't how I want it
- 10:30Speaker 2: to get it. I love it. Like she's just she's great.
- 10:33Speaker 2: I thought she was really fun. I was glad we
- 10:36Speaker 2: got more of her. I was suspicious of Brooke at first,
- 10:40Speaker 2: and at the top of the third episode, I was like,
- 10:44Speaker 2: is she are a bad guy? Is she our a culprit?
- 10:46Speaker 2: But then I was like, no, she wouldn't be standing
- 10:48Speaker 2: underneath this potential, you know, display that's going to fall
- 10:53Speaker 2: on them, Like if she knew what was going to fall,
- 10:55Speaker 2: she wouldn't be standing there. So she can't be our culprit. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 11:00Speaker 2: I'm glad that she's not a bad guy, and I
- 11:03Speaker 2: hope she doesn't end up being a bad guy. I
- 11:06Speaker 2: just like her being this kind of vapid townsperson exactly
- 11:12Speaker 2: with some comic relief. Yeah, I'm into Brook. I like Brook.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Something else I really liked I want to talk about
- 11:18Speaker 2: We talked about it a little bit, but Sam and
- 11:19Speaker 2: Emily's chemistry is finally you know we watched these shows,
- 11:27Speaker 2: we know that there's going to be a love interest.
- 11:29Speaker 2: When we watched Mystery one on one, it took them
- 11:35Speaker 2: forever to get there right. We were like, when's it
- 11:38Speaker 2: gonna happen? When's it gonna happen with Sam and Emily?
- 11:42Speaker 2: Like I feel like they're in episodes one and two,
- 11:46Speaker 2: like they obviously have some chemistry. I think we see
- 11:49Speaker 2: that a lot more in episodes three and four. So
- 11:53Speaker 2: it's not like will they won't they, It's but it's
- 11:57Speaker 2: building that a natural progression that I'm enjoying as a
- 12:03Speaker 2: newer I like that their flirtatious way isn't forced by
- 12:10Speaker 2: any means it. As I'm watching it, I was like, Oh,
- 12:13Speaker 2: these are two people who are vibing, for a lack
- 12:17Speaker 2: of better words, like they're into each other totally. And
- 12:21Speaker 2: when they have like that almost kiss at the end
- 12:24Speaker 2: and they're just like face to face, their bodies are
- 12:26Speaker 2: pressed up against each other, I'm super into it. Yeah.
- 12:31Speaker 2: The episode three, oh, early on they have this real cute,
- 12:34Speaker 2: like flirty banter. They're talking about hockey and the bells
- 12:38Speaker 2: and they're just like they're leaning into each other and
- 12:40Speaker 2: their vibe is so fun, and then we end on
- 12:43Speaker 2: that sweeter or more romantic vibe. I love the progression, Like,
- 12:47Speaker 2: and they only have six episodes, so I am assuming
- 12:50Speaker 2: we're not going to get everything all tied up in
- 12:52Speaker 2: a neat little salmon Emily bow at the end of
- 12:54Speaker 2: episodes five and six. But I do like that they're
- 12:58Speaker 2: giving us enough to get into. Yeah, when they have
- 13:02Speaker 2: that conversation when he makes that joke about spiding her parents,
- 13:07Speaker 2: like he's like, they must have loved Halloween and this
- 13:09Speaker 2: is why you leaned into Christmas or whatever, I thought
- 13:12Speaker 2: was so funny. Yeah, such a great line, great writing there.
- 13:17Speaker 2: It's very good, very very good. So some parts of
- 13:22Speaker 2: this episode are like real campy and silly, like oh
- 13:25Speaker 2: my god, yes the sleigh, Like when the sleigh straight
- 13:28Speaker 2: up like crushes Debby and she just watches it happening.
- 13:31Speaker 2: I actually thought it was fun. I didn't. I wasn't
- 13:34Speaker 2: bothered by it, but I they also the closing scene
- 13:37Speaker 2: with the message to Emily with her cryptic chimerasearch happening.
- 13:42Speaker 2: I don't fully know what's going on there, but they
- 13:45Speaker 2: nailed the creepy and I like the balance there, like
- 13:48Speaker 2: we're still hallmarkified but I'm buying it. That's so funny
- 13:55Speaker 2: you said the word hallmarkified because it isn't my wishes.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Uh oh, I'm going to talk about it there all right.
- 14:01Speaker 2: I absolutely agree with you. Was that a like though
- 14:05Speaker 2: for you? Like you are okay with the hallmarkified of
- 14:08Speaker 2: the more sinister storylines. I like the balance because you know,
- 14:15Speaker 2: I don't like scary. Yeah, so for me, it's like
- 14:18Speaker 2: just scary enough to be interesting. I have some thoughts
- 14:23Speaker 2: on the actual crime happening here in my Wishes, don't
- 14:27Speaker 2: you worry, But the sleigh falling from the roof was
- 14:32Speaker 2: funny enough for me to be into it. Okay, No,
- 14:37Speaker 2: I agree with you. I mean, just it just so
- 14:40Speaker 2: happens to get Debbie in the perfect it doesn't actually
- 14:44Speaker 2: hurt her. Yes that possible? How yes? Anymore likes just
- 14:55Speaker 2: one small one. I enjoy watching Emily go like full
- 15:00Speaker 2: spy mode. I like watching It's exciting for me to
- 15:07Speaker 2: see like this double life kind of unfold that and
- 15:10Speaker 2: we're just getting like pieces of it. I said it
- 15:13Speaker 2: in last episode two, like, I think that's the most
- 15:16Speaker 2: thrilling part of the series, learning who Emily is. Yeah,
- 15:22Speaker 2: I don't think we got as much of it in
- 15:24Speaker 2: episodes three and four as we did in one and two,
- 15:27Speaker 2: but it's it's enough to keep me interested going forward. Yeah,
- 15:31Speaker 2: I agree. One thing I think this show is doing well.
- 15:36Speaker 2: We have dual storylines happening here. Even more than that,
- 15:40Speaker 2: like we have whatever the mystery of the double episode
- 15:44Speaker 2: happens to be, but we also have their everyday lives
- 15:47Speaker 2: running in the background. And so that's Sam and Emily
- 15:50Speaker 2: and the mystery of Emily's past. And we also have
- 15:53Speaker 2: what I think is really nice Violet and Emily's relationship.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Violet has a mom, she's just not on screen, and
- 16:01Speaker 2: Emily is kind of serving that maternal figure, particularly when
- 16:06Speaker 2: she says to her, you're allowed to make mistakes when
- 16:10Speaker 2: she's lost the key, and she she turns it into
- 16:13Speaker 2: a you know, just let me know, let me know
- 16:17Speaker 2: next time, but don't make promises. You can keep like
- 16:20Speaker 2: I'll never let it have it again. You are a human.
- 16:22Speaker 2: I really enjoy their seeing where their relationship is going. Yeah,
- 16:28Speaker 2: don't you go. I wish I could have a mom
- 16:31Speaker 2: response like that, yes, where you'd be like freaking out instead. Yeah,
- 16:35Speaker 2: but I also think that Emily is positioned to be
- 16:39Speaker 2: able to have a response like that, because she's not
- 16:41Speaker 2: Violet's mother of course, so right, like, don't you think
- 16:45Speaker 2: you could give grace to someone who's more grace? This
- 16:48Speaker 2: is terrible to say out loud, more grace to someone
- 16:50Speaker 2: who's not your child than someone who is. Sometimes, yes,
- 16:55Speaker 2: because there's less at stake, right, So I think Emily's
- 16:57Speaker 2: in a position to be able to do that better
- 17:00Speaker 2: than Violet's mother would be. I agree, I agree, let's
- 17:03Speaker 2: talk wishes. Okay? For me, speaking of Violet and the
- 17:10Speaker 2: lost key, this is a subplot that didn't really go
- 17:15Speaker 2: anywhere for me. I'm going to talk in a minute
- 17:18Speaker 2: about Emily approaching that teenager or hiding in his car
- 17:23Speaker 2: in a minute. I'm going to get there in a minute.
- 17:27Speaker 2: But what is the point here? This is like a
- 17:30Speaker 2: thread that has no payoff other than to show us
- 17:33Speaker 2: that Emily has a dark past. But I thought it
- 17:37Speaker 2: would lead to something more. Yeah, that's a really good point.
- 17:42Speaker 2: It doesn't serve any other purpose other than to maybe
- 17:45Speaker 2: move Emily on Violet's relationship forward. I think I think they.
- 17:52Speaker 2: I think Emily asks too much of Violet, like she
- 17:55Speaker 2: leaves her alone in that store a lot. I was
- 17:59Speaker 2: wondering that too, And they even said at one point
- 18:02Speaker 2: by like goes, what happened to a couple of errands?
- 18:04Speaker 2: You've been gone for three hours? Yeah, you have a
- 18:06Speaker 2: teenager running this store like all by herself. Seems a
- 18:09Speaker 2: lot to ask, It does seem. Now. When I was
- 18:13Speaker 2: in high school, I did work in a clothing store
- 18:14Speaker 2: and I did close that store by myself, shut down
- 18:18Speaker 2: the register. Blows my mind that I was tasked with
- 18:22Speaker 2: such a job. But even watching it, I think girl
- 18:28Speaker 2: needs a break, Like, what if she needs to go
- 18:29Speaker 2: to the bathroom. She I think we're putting too much
- 18:32Speaker 2: on her. Nobody's actually going like she needs her fifteen
- 18:35Speaker 2: minutes here. I mean, what's she supposed to do? She's
- 18:39Speaker 2: got a page's like hold it until Emily comes back.
- 18:42Speaker 2: She can't leave the store unsupervised. Yeah yeah, yeah. My
- 18:48Speaker 2: next wish is and I feel like you might have
- 18:51Speaker 2: some hot takes on this. It's back to the hallmarkifying
- 18:55Speaker 2: of things. So when Emily is hiding in this kid's car,
- 19:04Speaker 2: which is actually a terrifying like thought to be, like
- 19:08Speaker 2: if somebody's hiding in the back of your car, Like,
- 19:10Speaker 2: so I kind of liked that, but it was way
- 19:14Speaker 2: too campy with her doing this like menacing voice to
- 19:19Speaker 2: his kid to scare him. I was like, what is
- 19:20Speaker 2: happening here? This has gone too far? Like I couldn't.
- 19:24Speaker 2: I couldn't. It wasn't believable to me. I thought it was.
- 19:28Speaker 2: It was equal parts silly and over the top and
- 19:33Speaker 2: also way more than was warranted. Like, Okay, the kid
- 19:38Speaker 2: broken to the store, I get it, but this vigilante
- 19:42Speaker 2: justice like I'm gonna scare him straight thing I thought
- 19:45Speaker 2: was maybe a little bit over the line, like he
- 19:46Speaker 2: is still a child, and granted a child who had
- 19:49Speaker 2: committed a crime. I get it. But I was like, well,
- 19:52Speaker 2: maybe pump the brakes a little bit here, Emily. Yeah,
- 19:57Speaker 2: I a literally I really like laughed out loud and
- 20:01Speaker 2: said what is happening when I was watching it, Hey,
- 20:05Speaker 2: you better never do anything with that again? Or oh no, Yeah,
- 20:11Speaker 2: it was too too cartoonish for me. When in the
- 20:15Speaker 2: previous episodes in one and two, I thought Emily came
- 20:19Speaker 2: off as this like real batty vigilante you don't want
- 20:25Speaker 2: to mess with, and this just felt like, oh, this
- 20:29Speaker 2: felt like somebody's mom trying to scare some kid. You know.
- 20:33Speaker 2: I think the voice is what ruins that scene for me,
- 20:35Speaker 2: because the hiding in the back seat scary, the way
- 20:38Speaker 2: we don't see her coming scary, the fact that she
- 20:40Speaker 2: like gets them around the neck scary. It's just the
- 20:43Speaker 2: voice that like pushes it into the hookey side. Yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Do you think she was like, oh man, how am
- 20:50Speaker 2: I gonna pull this off? Like when she's doing this scene? Yeah,
- 20:54Speaker 2: I wish they had there was a way to give
- 20:56Speaker 2: her one of those like voice changers. Yeah, why didn't
- 20:59Speaker 2: they do that? Well, I don't know how you do
- 21:00Speaker 2: that live like you they're still gonna hear your voice? Yeah, true, trure, true, true, true.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Tell me what you wish for. I would like a
- 21:08Speaker 2: clear timeline on what's happening here. It does seem like
- 21:10Speaker 2: we're days away from Christmas, but also potentially weeks. Like
- 21:13Speaker 2: I know we're in the holiday season because in the
- 21:15Speaker 2: last episode they had Christmas karaoke, and they had the
- 21:20Speaker 2: the hot cocoa situation, and now we've got the Christmas
- 21:24Speaker 2: tree lighting. We have all of this, but I don't
- 21:25Speaker 2: have any idea when we are, Like maybe it just
- 21:30Speaker 2: seems like a lot of time passes in these episodes,
- 21:32Speaker 2: but also, not much time passes. I know, it's like,
- 21:36Speaker 2: are we like six weeks out from Christmas? What's happening?
- 21:39Speaker 2: But even then, it just seems like that whole last episode,
- 21:42Speaker 2: you know, June was in prison. They had to you know,
- 21:45Speaker 2: I the time was a little wonky for me, my
- 21:50Speaker 2: big wish. However, Era had no choice but to murder
- 21:54Speaker 2: two people because the choir group might lose. Yeah, we
- 21:58Speaker 2: haven't even talked about the whole situation. Thank you for
- 22:01Speaker 2: bringing it up. Yeah, that was kind of a weird motivation.
- 22:07Speaker 2: It's similar to mistery one oh one, where the guy
- 22:12Speaker 2: kills because he doesn't want his girl to be hired
- 22:15Speaker 2: for the job. Yes, job or winner. It's like, ett
- 22:18Speaker 2: it unbelievable. You're so invested in your choir that you
- 22:22Speaker 2: had to kill someone who might go to another choir
- 22:24Speaker 2: and make them better. The believability has been stretched to
- 22:29Speaker 2: its very limits here. Yeah, I agree. I mean it
- 22:33Speaker 2: is if you roll it back to like, is this
- 22:38Speaker 2: the ultimate Hallmark crime? My holiday choir might lose, so
- 22:43Speaker 2: therefore I have to murder the person who's going to
- 22:45Speaker 2: be responsible for that. Okay, but I think I think
- 22:48Speaker 2: we're pushing it here. Do you have any more wishes? No,
- 22:51Speaker 2: that's it, all right, let's talk. Did you see that? Okay?
- 22:55Speaker 2: I don't have any true digit see that. I have
- 23:00Speaker 2: two thoughts on things, and then one actually like did
- 23:03Speaker 2: you see that? But it's not like a continuity issue?
- 23:05Speaker 2: So are you ready for it? I am Emily wears
- 23:08Speaker 2: the brand Mother Jeans, and those jeans are two hundred dollars.
- 23:13Speaker 2: I'm like, nice catch. How did you wardrobe saw the label?
- 23:17Speaker 2: It has an M on the pocket and I just
- 23:20Speaker 2: those have been on my radar for some time and
- 23:23Speaker 2: I just can't link. Two hundred dollars for a pair
- 23:25Speaker 2: of jeans is bonkers to me. But I'm like, Wardrobe
- 23:30Speaker 2: must have had some money here. I mean, maybe she's
- 23:34Speaker 2: wearing them and like sat I noticed them in episodes
- 23:36Speaker 2: one and two as well, but she could obviously they
- 23:39Speaker 2: might be repurposing them in for the show, like maybe
- 23:42Speaker 2: they just have one pair of premium denim jeans for
- 23:46Speaker 2: our actress to wear. But yeah, anyway, I noticed that,
- 23:50Speaker 2: all right. The other thing, here's a question. So Emily
- 23:56Speaker 2: has this store, right, and in the montages we see
- 24:00Speaker 2: a lot of her selling things like snow globes and ornaments,
- 24:04Speaker 2: and stuff like that, And I was like, who is
- 24:07Speaker 2: going to a specialty Christmas shop to buy Christmas decor
- 24:14Speaker 2: type items? Like I kind of thought this might be
- 24:18Speaker 2: a regular like retail space and then they wrap the
- 24:23Speaker 2: gifts for Christmas giving. Do you know where I'm getting to? Yeah,
- 24:27Speaker 2: so I'm going to push back on that because we
- 24:31Speaker 2: live in Orange County, land of the chain store. We
- 24:33Speaker 2: do not have cute, little small town Christmas shops just
- 24:35Speaker 2: in our cruising radius. Yeah, so we wouldn't shop there
- 24:40Speaker 2: because they don't exist. But there are places like by
- 24:46Speaker 2: my mother in law's house or as a place that's like,
- 24:49Speaker 2: it's not just Christmas. They sell whatever the holiday happens
- 24:52Speaker 2: to be, but it's like a full store of like
- 24:55Speaker 2: ornaments and decor and that's all they sell. And it's
- 24:59Speaker 2: little more u unique than you're a big box store.
- 25:01Speaker 2: So I think people in a small town where there's
- 25:06Speaker 2: not a Target and a home Goods and whatever wherever
- 25:09Speaker 2: else people are shopping for these things on every corner
- 25:12Speaker 2: probably would shop in a place like this. I don't
- 25:13Speaker 2: think it's sustainable twelve months of the year. When she
- 25:16Speaker 2: says two Violet's friend, I'll let you know if we're
- 25:19Speaker 2: hiring during this summer busy season. Yeah, I was like,
- 25:22Speaker 2: what what busy season? That's weird. I don't know that
- 25:26Speaker 2: it's sustainable year round, but I do think people are
- 25:28Speaker 2: like looking for like unique holiday finds. Yeah, and it
- 25:32Speaker 2: might just be a me thing. I just wouldn't go
- 25:35Speaker 2: to a specialty store and buy a snow globe for somebody.
- 25:37Speaker 2: First of all, I would never gift anybody a snow
- 25:39Speaker 2: globe either, which is a me thing, and then ask
- 25:44Speaker 2: them to wrap it. I don't know, it just seems weird.
- 25:46Speaker 2: I like, I'll go to a Christmas shop and like
- 25:49Speaker 2: poke around and like because I like browsing at things.
- 25:52Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't know. I don't know why I'm
- 25:56Speaker 2: so hung up on it. If I'm going to buy
- 25:57Speaker 2: somebody a gift, it's not going to be holiday decore though. No. Well,
- 26:03Speaker 2: I think a lot of people gift ornaments during the holidays. Yeah,
- 26:08Speaker 2: a lot of people like hostess gifts or yeah, my
- 26:12Speaker 2: last did you see that? Is our character Debbie. She
- 26:19Speaker 2: leans in real hard to her singing right now and
- 26:25Speaker 2: you probably haven't seen it, but there is a TikTok
- 26:28Speaker 2: of these girls and they are on stage and they're
- 26:32Speaker 2: clearly like sisters. And there's two younger ones who are
- 26:35Speaker 2: getting ready to sing and they're gonna sing a Cranberry
- 26:37Speaker 2: song and the older one is like just being so
- 26:41Speaker 2: extra and it completely reminded me of Debbie. I'm going
- 26:45Speaker 2: to share it with you. I may share it in
- 26:47Speaker 2: our Facebook group too, just to be like, this gives
- 26:49Speaker 2: off Debbie vibes because Debbie was interesting to watch. Yes,
- 26:56Speaker 2: it just it just made me laugh, that's all. Yeah,
- 26:58Speaker 2: I think I totally agree like her choices, which is
- 27:02Speaker 2: how my theater daughter would say. The choices that she
- 27:06Speaker 2: made were very interesting, and I think, you know, I
- 27:10Speaker 2: think the whole point is to highlight like her role
- 27:12Speaker 2: as a soloist wasn't earned, it was uh huh stolen
- 27:17Speaker 2: because of her financial support. And she's obviously not the
- 27:22Speaker 2: most talented person there. So I mean, even Sarah Drew's
- 27:26Speaker 2: singing was better than Debbie's. Kind of surprised by Sarah Drewcey, Yeah,
- 27:32Speaker 2: I loved it. Yeah, I don't have like you said,
- 27:36Speaker 2: true Digitsu. That's I just wanted to point out that,
- 27:39Speaker 2: you know, Emily tries to connect with Adam to get
- 27:42Speaker 2: more information about him, and she's like, hey, I have
- 27:44Speaker 2: some junk I need hauled away, And when he kind
- 27:48Speaker 2: of calls her bluff, he's like, oh, I'll be in
- 27:49Speaker 2: the area, I'll come pick it up. She gives him
- 27:52Speaker 2: a box a boxes. Yeah, yeah, you couldn't have taken
- 27:57Speaker 2: that out of the trash yourself. You needed a junk
- 27:59Speaker 2: call to take that away. Yeah. I need a junk collar.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Got me too, get all the junk at my house? Yeah,
- 28:07Speaker 2: I mean, speaking of tiktoks, you see those videos that
- 28:09Speaker 2: are like, this is a a gen x ER's dream
- 28:11Speaker 2: and it's a dumpster pulling up to the curve. It's empty,
- 28:16Speaker 2: one hundred percent my dream. I love doing that at
- 28:19Speaker 2: least once a year. Time to verge. Yeah, what did
- 28:25Speaker 2: you rate this episode of Mistletoe Murders. I gave this
- 28:30Speaker 2: episode four and a half stars. Last episode this week
- 28:34Speaker 2: four point seventy five. Okay, this one ticks down just
- 28:37Speaker 2: a little bit because they got a little hokey. Yeah,
- 28:41Speaker 2: so I gave last episode five stars. I'm giving this
- 28:43Speaker 2: one four point to two five stars. Ooh, it really
- 28:47Speaker 2: fell for you. Now, let's be clear, I don't find
- 28:50Speaker 2: four point two five stars to be a bad rating,
- 28:52Speaker 2: and nobody else should either. We just this is a
- 28:57Speaker 2: classic middle of the trilogy episode mm hmm, moving things along,
- 29:02Speaker 2: but it's not there's no fireworks. Yeah, That's why I
- 29:05Speaker 2: want to listen to the podcast because I'm like, is
- 29:08Speaker 2: there any difference here? What does the story did home?
- 29:14Speaker 2: Did Hallmark get their hands on making it a little
- 29:18Speaker 2: more Hallmark mystery? Yeah, with the exception of when she
- 29:22Speaker 2: opens the trunk and Adam is dead in the trunk,
- 29:25Speaker 2: I was like, oh, which is like, I'm at Adam's
- 29:28Speaker 2: house and so is he? You were like, what nice? Nice? Yep, Hey,
- 29:34Speaker 2: thanks for listening to this episode of Girls Gone Hallmark.
- 29:37Speaker 2: If you enjoy this podcast, we would absolutely love your
