- 0:54Before we get into the Word, I'll ask Andrew to open us up
- 0:57with a word of prayer. Hey, let's pray God, we thank
- 1:00you for all you've provided for us.
- 1:03Thank you for the work that you did on our behalf and I pray
- 1:07that we would teach it in a way that you will just believe it
- 1:11and be changed by that power that is already there in Jesus
- 1:14name from them. Amen.
- 1:16That's right. So to get a running start here
- 1:22last week we talked about and this this really stuck out to
- 1:28me. I don't know why, but where he
- 1:30says that verse 9. So Paul writing this to the
- 1:36believers, the church at Colossae for this 'cause we also
- 1:40so that would be the we would be Paul and was it Epaphras they we
- 1:46heard it. Do not cease to pray for you and
- 1:48to desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of his
- 1:51will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding so that you might
- 1:56work for thee of the Lord all pleasing and man I'm telling you
- 2:00I that is that is an interesting concept that he was praying that
- 2:07they would be filled with the knowledge of his will.
- 2:12You think about it. What is the knowledge of God's
- 2:15will? It is knowing what God would
- 2:17that you have that you do you know so so he thinks that so the
- 2:22writer of this thinks that to be filled with the knowledge of his
- 2:25will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.
- 2:28Is you going to help you walk worthy of the Lord.
- 2:33I mean that is that is good that is really good.
- 2:36Like a lot of people probably would tend to think that, you
- 2:41know, more prayer or or better church attendance or a more
- 2:46rigorous spiritual life or a, you know, all these things that
- 2:50we bend ourselves into to try to walk worthy of the Lord.
- 2:53But. What does Paul say?
- 2:56That we would know that we'd have the knowledge of his will
- 2:59in all wisdom and spiritual understanding that is that is a
- 3:03basic principle that is not unheard of, but it is definitely
- 3:07not commonly taught. I'm he that's pretty good.
- 3:10So anyway, that just that just stuck out to me.
- 3:12That's that's really good. And that that actually is also
- 3:15the source of of power over sin to understanding that knowledge,
- 3:22you know, understanding what God did for us in his son Jesus,
- 3:26that it affects us in such a way that we can be free from sin,
- 3:31free and and and be that way. That's that's just awesome.
- 3:36And it goes on to say strengthen with all might according to his
- 3:39glorious power. I mean, he gave us every tool
- 3:41that we need. He made every way possible.
- 3:44All we got to do, like one guy was saying is just walk in the
- 3:47path that's already been cleared.
- 3:49You know, that's that's all that's up to us being fruitful
- 3:53in every good work, increasing in the knowledge of God,
- 3:55strengthen with all might according to his glorious power
- 3:57unto all patients and long-suffering with joyfulness.
- 4:00And then he goes in verse 12. And I'll let you kick this off
- 4:03Melvin, giving thanks unto the Father.
- 4:05Now he's still talking about, you know, walking worthy of the
- 4:08Lord, giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet
- 4:13to be partakers of the inheritance of the Saints in
- 4:16light. And I'll stop there.
- 4:18That's not that's not the end of the sentence.
- 4:19Remember last week we talked about it.
- 4:21This is 1 sentence from verse 7 to verse 17 or yeah 17 is the
- 4:28end of the sentence. So this is 1 continuous
- 4:32disregard the the verse numbers and all that giving thanks unto
- 4:36the Father which has made us meet to be partakers of the
- 4:39inheritance of the Saints in life.
- 4:41No one go ahead with your thoughts on that verse.
- 4:44Yeah, there's a lot of things that we could talk about in this
- 4:47verse. We're we're going to enter into
- 4:49a lot of good things here in these next 5 or 6 verses or
- 4:53whatever. The rest of the chapter
- 4:55basically, but one thing that stood out to me, I'm going to
- 4:58kind of elaborate on a little bit, is the giving thanks unto
- 5:03the Father. That is such an important thing
- 5:07in the Christian life. You know, we think in our minds
- 5:11that you were saying that, you know, we need to be in the word
- 5:15more. And I'm not saying I'm not of
- 5:16advocating that we shouldn't be in the word, but those are the
- 5:19things that we talked about a lot in Christian circles, you
- 5:24know, getting into the word more, praying more, and all
- 5:26those things are good things. But the Scripture talks a lot
- 5:31about being thankful and giving thanks unto the Father.
- 5:36And in Colossians 315, it says and let the the grace of God
- 5:42ruin your hearts to the which also you're called in one body
- 5:47and be thankful. And then right away in verse 17
- 5:50two verses later, he says and whatsoever you do in Word or
- 5:54deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus giving thanks unto
- 5:58the Father by him. So there he's saying, you know
- 6:04in verse 17, like what he says whatever you do in Word.
- 6:06Indeed, that's what he's just saying in the previous verses.
- 6:09He's saying if you like you pointed out Liam when he when we
- 6:15what does it say there when we are look to him walking worthy
- 6:20of the Lord and all pleasing and being fruitful in every good
- 6:24work and increasing in the knowledge of God, because when
- 6:28we understand his will right and his spiritual understanding will
- 6:34cause us to be fruitful. And then I just read in class
- 6:3717. He says whatsoever you do in
- 6:38Word or deed, he's saying those things are good, but he says
- 6:42ultimately be thankful and give thanks unto the Father.
- 6:48And so that is just really stood out to me and has stood out to
- 6:52me for a long time already. When we're praying or whatever
- 6:58that we, we enter in to prayer and come to God with
- 7:03thankfulness for what he has done ultimately through Jesus.
- 7:09But I like what he says here, why we give him thanks here in
- 7:14this context, he's saying that we that he has made us meet to
- 7:19be partakers of the inheritance of the Saints in light.
- 7:22And there again he uses that word Saints call calling the
- 7:26believers Saints. But he's saying that he has made
- 7:30us meet. In other words, he has allowed
- 7:33us given us a way to be partakers like to be partaking
- 7:38of the light of Jesus Christ and John, it talks a lot about Jesus
- 7:44being the light. And so I just that just stands
- 7:47out to me as well that that we are thankful to God that we can
- 7:52be partakers of his Kingdom of the Kingdom of God through Jesus
- 7:58Christ and only through Jesus Christ and that we can rest in
- 8:02in what Christ has done for us. And because of that, we will
- 8:05know His will and we will be able to be fruitful, not by
- 8:10trying to do things, but by resting and understanding.
- 8:14Who we are. In Christ.
- 8:17Amen. That's good, Andrew.
- 8:20Yeah, I've been wrestling quite a bit with the idea of, but that
- 8:26part of the spiritual wisdom and understandings, the byproduct of
- 8:30that is that it's unto all, all patients and long-suffering with
- 8:37joyfulness. I know we're I'm a verse behind
- 8:42there. But you know, when you have the
- 8:47spiritual understanding that Paul is displaying here in these
- 8:52verses, it's pretty hard to not have peace.
- 8:55It's pretty hard to not have some joy.
- 8:58And also the concept of the fact that trials and tribulations and
- 9:04difficult times makes us stronger.
- 9:07Why do people go in the and work out at the gym and put
- 9:12themselves through extreme misery Because of the glory that
- 9:15follows That's. Right.
- 9:17That's why they do it. They they hurt themselves.
- 9:21They go through tremendous pain and mental stress.
- 9:25Why the reward? It's great.
- 9:28And if we allow ourselves to forgot to try us, Peter says the
- 9:35the the reward is more than that of precious gold, tried and
- 9:41fire. So kind of goes against all the
- 9:45flesh. Like when bad things happens, it
- 9:49feels justified and good to be sad and sorrowful and poor me
- 9:54and all this. And how can I learn patience and
- 9:58long-suffering? And I think it's a, a fruit of
- 10:02having good understanding, spiritual wisdom and
- 10:05understanding. So I find that interesting that
- 10:07that's included in those things. And then he goes right in, like
- 10:11my one was saying right in the verse 12 where he says, which
- 10:17has made us meet to be partakers.
- 10:20That is good news. He made us all the things that
- 10:30needed to be met in order for to let us walk right in the glory,
- 10:39right into the Kingdom of Light. He, He met all the requirements
- 10:46He made us meet to be. He qualified us to go into the
- 10:51Kingdom of Light. He did it.
- 10:55That should eliminate a lot of theologian books.
- 10:59Like you can just clear off your Christian bookshelf on this one.
- 11:03Because if he made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance,
- 11:09that inheritance is where you get something you didn't earn.
- 11:13Somebody gave it to you. If Jesus Christ is that for us,
- 11:19then it's over. I don't have to walk around
- 11:25wondering if I'm qualified to be in the light, to be ushered in,
- 11:31to have that inheritance. Jesus Christ made me qualified.
- 11:38And if if you can't just believe that and you need a book to help
- 11:48you believe it, then you don't like, I guess my biggest problem
- 11:54I've been struggling with this last week when thinking about
- 11:57these passages is that it's so good and it's so freeing, But
- 12:00most of us don't live in it. And I think it's because we're
- 12:05trained to think that it's deeper.
- 12:07Yes, we're trained to think that it's it's somewhat spiritual and
- 12:12we need to read a bunch of books to figure it out.
- 12:16You know, it's like me and you saying, hey, the silo is full.
- 12:20We we, we chopped silage today and the silo is full.
- 12:24You see the top, it's full. You wouldn't go read some book
- 12:27to figure out if what I said is true, that that silo is full.
- 12:30You would just, you know, like it's like we're just talking
- 12:34here. Jesus said he made us meet to be
- 12:36partakers. OK, good.
- 12:38I'm done. I'm I'm not trying to be
- 12:40qualified. He did it.
- 12:41And that's good enough. Like I'm taking him for his
- 12:45word. That's called believing in
- 12:46faith. You know, when we have to read
- 12:49books to try to figure it out and make it deep, I think we're
- 12:53just not. It's a it's a disgrace properly.
- 12:57Yeah, the the talking about the simplicity that is in the word
- 13:01here, it's, you know, I think, I think we actually often look
- 13:04over the top of it in search for something a little deeper and,
- 13:08and it, and it's right here, right in plain sight.
- 13:12You know, I, I think about the in John chapter 4, where Jesus
- 13:19said under the woman at the well, he said, that woman,
- 13:22believe me, the hour cometh when ye shall neither in this
- 13:24mountain nor yet at Jerusalem worship the Father.
- 13:27You worship. You know not what we know, what
- 13:30we worship for salvation is of the Jews.
- 13:32But the hour cometh and now is when the true worshippers shall
- 13:35worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father seeketh
- 13:40such. We worship you like.
- 13:43So if if this is on the inside of you, this is this is
- 13:46something that the Holy Spirit put inside of you that you would
- 13:50would know God. I mean, he is already there
- 13:53making us aware and and revealing these truths.
- 13:57Like I agree with what you said, Andrew.
- 13:59We don't need a book. We need to trust the word,
- 14:03however simple and and childish that some people would think
- 14:07that it maybe is. But in in, in in fact, it is not
- 14:11childish at all. It's incredibly rich and godly.
- 14:19It's just not full of a whole bunch of verbiage to confuse us.
- 14:23You know, it's just it's all that stuff is missing.
- 14:25But listen to this. The word meat simply means to be
- 14:31suitable or suitable. OK, now let's read this with
- 14:35that word, who have delivered us from the power of darkness.
- 14:39No, hang on giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us
- 14:42suitable to be partakers of the inheritance.
- 14:46So doesn't that sound good? I mean, that is the real God
- 14:51said, and not us, because we would estimate ourselves to be
- 14:54much lower than that. We would never call ourselves
- 14:56suitable to be made partakers of the inheritance of the Saints.
- 14:59We would never we would never have the guts to claim that of
- 15:02ourselves. He said that you are suitable.
- 15:08What I'm a dirty wretched Sinner, but I'm made suitable by
- 15:12the blood of Jesus on his cloth and there's nothing that's ever
- 15:15going to change that. And it it's it's it's complete.
- 15:19I mean, that is glorious. I don't care who you are if that
- 15:23doesn't make the hair stand up when you're in a little bit
- 15:25something's wrong here would sweat.
- 15:27I'm telling you, but that that is good news.
- 15:30And so to be to be called suitable to be heart takers of
- 15:37the inheritance of The Who the Saints.
- 15:40Man, that. That's good, That's good.
- 15:43All right, I'll get off my soapbox now.
- 15:45Oh, that was good, that good stuff.
- 15:48And that and that's why the body of Christ has been able to
- 15:53withstand all you know, since Christ died and resurrected for
- 15:58the last 2000 years or whatever. That's why the body price has
- 16:02been allowed to stand and grow, right, Because this what you're
- 16:07just said, because these truths that we're reading here in the
- 16:11word will always remain as long as time stands and that that
- 16:18that's just that's profound doesn't.
- 16:20Matter how rotten we are, the truth is still the truth.
- 16:23That's right. And and this is this is a really
- 16:25good thing. On Sunday, one of the guys we
- 16:27had open sharing and one of the guys was talking.
- 16:29He said that Christians have an identity crisis.
- 16:34We don't know who we are and and that's exactly what if we can
- 16:38take this what he's saying here in Colossians to the bank and
- 16:42live our life this way like it were the truth, which it is,
- 16:47then it will change the way we act.
- 16:48It'll change who we are. It there won't have, there
- 16:52doesn't have to be no identity crisis.
- 16:54Fights over. I guarantee it is.
- 16:56Fights over, you know, talking about complicating it, the verse
- 17:02that's always blows me or the concept that always blows me
- 17:06away that I think that really is a good gauge of whether we've
- 17:10drawn away, walked away from the simplicity of the gospel is when
- 17:14Jesus said except ye be converted and become as one of
- 17:17these little children, ain't no way you're gonna make or you're
- 17:22not gonna make it. Except you become like that, and
- 17:28I'm telling you a little kid doesn't have to read and study
- 17:32and think deep to believe something.
- 17:36They just go off of what you say, Dad says they don't touch,
- 17:40they get off the table. They just get off the table.
- 17:42They don't try to figure. Out what I'm trying to say and.
- 17:47That's to me a really good gauge.
- 17:50And a lot of these ministries, it has become a thing where you
- 17:56have to have to go through seminary, you have to go through
- 17:59all kinds of schooling, and you have to know Greek, you have to
- 18:02know Hebrew, and you have to be able to be well versed in all
- 18:06these things. And then your subjects, when you
- 18:10come back from school and you get your little congregation,
- 18:14you're like 10 stories up here and everybody down there is
- 18:18unlearned. And it's your job to feed them.
- 18:23Your knowledge, it's your job to feed them your knowledge and
- 18:28it's not true. And that's why people are not
- 18:32free is because they can't just believe these what God just says
- 18:36like, hey, I took your place, I made you suitable.
- 18:40You know, oh, that's good stuff. All right.
- 18:45Who hath delivered us from the I'm going to back up and read
- 18:49verse 12 again to row into 13, giving thanks unto the Father,
- 18:52which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of
- 18:56the Saints in light, who have delivered us from the power of
- 19:00darkness and have translated us into the Kingdom of his dear
- 19:04Son. I mean immediately, right off
- 19:07the top, The one thing that grabs my attention.
- 19:09This verse is highlighted and underlined in my Bible because
- 19:14of the two the two half words in there, past tense words that are
- 19:19in there and I tell you what, that's another one of those
- 19:22things can I was talking again. If we can take that to the bank
- 19:25and realize that to be a fact, the way that it is written it,
- 19:29it too is going to help us understand a lot of things in
- 19:32this life. But I'll get it.
- 19:33Let you go, Mel. And there's man I, this is good
- 19:35preaching material, right? If you ever, if you ever get
- 19:37caught on to preach this server, you don't know what to do.
- 19:39Turn straight to Colossians and just let her.
- 19:41It'll be the best thing ever. Mel, go ahead.
- 19:44Yeah, that's that is exactly right.
- 19:48I was going to talk a little bit about the that he has delivered
- 19:53us from the power of darkness. So when I got saved or before, I
- 19:58should say, like so when I started hearing the gospel and
- 20:01started hearing the truth and listening to different sermons
- 20:05and listening to Doctor David Jeremiah on the radio and you
- 20:09know, just started hearing these truths that we're reading here.
- 20:14It took me a long time. It was over a year actually.
- 20:18It took me a long time to realize that I was in darkness,
- 20:24that I was a Sinner, right? Because I thought in my
- 20:28religious. Mind that I was OK like I was a
- 20:32good person and so I want to elaborate a little bit on that
- 20:37that that he's saying that Father giving thanks into the
- 20:42father who hath delivered us and he is going to tell us who's
- 20:46going to who is a deliverer a little in the next part of the
- 20:49verse. But who had delivered us from
- 20:52the power of darkness? Now there's no way that you can
- 20:55be delivered from that power of darkness on your own power.
- 21:00Like it's, it's not possible. It has to be there has to be a
- 21:04deliverer. There has to be something bigger
- 21:07than you to die on the cross, right, and be resurrected.
- 21:12That is called the light that can deliver you from that power
- 21:17of darkness. And it's interesting.
- 21:18And John chapter 3, I came across this and it's just kind
- 21:23of amazing in my mind thinking of the light and and darkness.
- 21:29You know, we all know John 316, right?
- 21:32For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son,
- 21:35right? We all know that verse.
- 21:36And that's but in verse 319, three verses later, he says
- 21:41this. But actually let me just let me
- 21:44just read a little more of that. So in John 317 it says for God
- 21:51sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that
- 21:55the world through him might be saved.
- 21:59And he that believeth on him is not condemned, but he that
- 22:04believeth not is condemned already because he has not
- 22:08believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
- 22:12So if you're not believing in Christ alone for your salvation,
- 22:16the Bible says you're condemned. But then in verse 19 he says
- 22:20what this condemnation is, and I never really seen this before,
- 22:25and it says in verse 19, and this is the condemnation, that
- 22:30light is coming to the world. Jesus and the men love darkness
- 22:36rather than light because their deeds were evil.
- 22:39For everyone that doeth evil hateth the light and neither
- 22:43cometh to the light, lest his deeds be reproved.
- 22:47And so me and my religious mindset, I would have not
- 22:52considered myself to be in darkness, right?
- 22:55And so that I think that is so important.
- 22:58Like we have to realize that even if I'm trying to do, you
- 23:03know, trying to get to heaven in my own, whatever that way is
- 23:08that I'm trying to get into heaven is not going to cut it.
- 23:12And it is like I am in darkness. Actually outside of Christ, we
- 23:17are in total darkness. And that just I don't know.
- 23:21That's I think that's very profound that the fact that that
- 23:29that darkness cannot be we can't get out of that darkness except
- 23:33by Jesus, who is the light. So anyway, I'll let you go on
- 23:39Andy. I want to make a few comments
- 23:41real later in that verse, but I'll let you go ahead.
- 23:43Go. Ahead.
- 23:44Yeah, yeah, how cool is it that he just flat out says, hey, I
- 23:51also delivered you guys from the power of darkness and I
- 23:55translated you into the Kingdom of light in this dear sun.
- 23:59Like I put took you from 1 camp and I translated and we could go
- 24:06into a lot of details there. And he actually made us a new
- 24:09body, glorified body, and put us from a carnal man to a spiritual
- 24:14man, from a carnal Kingdom, a corrupt Kingdom to an
- 24:17incorruptible Kingdom. A.
- 24:21Kingdom of dishonor to the Kingdom of glory and honor.
- 24:25I mean, he translated us, changed us from a complete dark,
- 24:29wicked demonic Kingdom and translated this over into a
- 24:33glorious. Kingdom that is full of light.
- 24:37Now I'm glad to find that out. I'm glad to know that.
- 24:42That's right. You know, this book is mostly
- 24:48information so that we don't. Fall for men beguiling us.
- 24:53You know, there's, I don't know how many times in this book, he
- 24:57tells, He doesn't say, which I find interesting.
- 25:01He doesn't say beware lest any demons or beware lest any evil
- 25:05spirits come in and beguile you. He says Beware lest any man,
- 25:11every, any man, any man at least.
- 25:14Three or four times it's men, it's teachers, it's preachers,
- 25:19he says. Don't let him do it.
- 25:21And this is one of my favorite verses when people get men get
- 25:28so upset that I don't play the demon game where I'm chasing
- 25:34after demons and evil spirits in the darkness and, and I'm not
- 25:38willing to go there and recognize and try to figure them
- 25:41out and try to be very demon minded because Jesus just told
- 25:49me they're defeated. He actually delivered me from
- 25:52that Kingdom, and he actually put me in the Kingdom of light.
- 25:57So why would I be entertaining demons?
- 26:00Why? Why would I give them that kind
- 26:01of credit? Why would that's like a direct
- 26:06unbelief? It's like, oh, Jesus delivered
- 26:09me. Well, yeah, but look at what
- 26:11we're dealing with. The the reason we're dealing
- 26:14with darkness and demonic influence and power over us is
- 26:20because of a lack of understanding, spiritual
- 26:23understanding. The work has been done.
- 26:26That's what God says. And you can either live in that
- 26:28and believe it and say, good, I'm glad that's a good thing.
- 26:33I'm glad he delivered me from these powers.
- 26:36That way I don't have to spend time with him trying to fight
- 26:38him 'cause he fought him in. In fact, he says in chapter 2,
- 26:43he triumphed over every principality and powers.
- 26:46So that one's out the window for me.
- 26:49Like how many deliverance ministries are there?
- 26:54But one man delivered us from the power of darkness into the
- 26:57Kingdom of his dear Son. And it wasn't the man and it
- 27:00wasn't man. It was, well, it was a man, but
- 27:04it was a man, Jesus Christ. And I'm glad I don't have to
- 27:09look at A, at an evangelist or a very popular minister and guy
- 27:19that is really good with demons and all that to try to figure
- 27:22out if he thinks that I am on the right track to figure out if
- 27:28he thinks that I'm actually. You think I have it?
- 27:31Do you think I'm there? I'm glad that Jesus Christ made
- 27:34me suitable, the one that I'm going to have to be answering
- 27:37to. I'm glad he did it for me.
- 27:39I'm glad he translated me from the Kingdom of darkness into the
- 27:42Kingdom of light. I don't have to find my my some
- 27:47man to say yeah, I think he I. From what I see, it looks to me
- 27:51like you got it. Like I Yeah.
- 27:57Yeah, and that's good stuff. I think I, I just wanted to say
- 28:03one thing about this darkness and light 'cause that's, it's
- 28:06what's, what's he's kind of, you know, he's saying that you were
- 28:09delivered from the power darkness and then you were
- 28:12translated into light and it's interesting.
- 28:16So there's there's 2 verses in First Thessalonians.
- 28:20It says this 54 But ye brethren are not in darkness, that that
- 28:25they should take you over as a thief of the night.
- 28:27And then First Thessalonians 55 it says ye are the children of
- 28:30light and the children of the day, and we are not of the night
- 28:34nor of darkness. And then there's one verse where
- 28:37it says I was just looking about light and darkness.
- 28:40It says like Ephesians 58, it's it says for ye were sometimes
- 28:45darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord and walk as the
- 28:50children of light. So right, exactly what you're
- 28:52saying, Andrew, is that we need to understand that we are of the
- 28:56light, not of the darkness. And he's saying that you need to
- 29:00walk in that right and believe that because there's so many
- 29:04people like you said. That was one thing I was going
- 29:06to touch on. You touched it on for me was
- 29:08that so many people are dabbing in darkness, like demonic
- 29:12things, like Demi, you know, casting out demons and all those
- 29:15kinds of things in believers, actually, or trying to deliver
- 29:20them from these sins, you know, when.
- 29:23And indeed, they should be looking to Christ, who is the
- 29:28light. Why are you dabbing with the
- 29:29darkness? You are the children of light
- 29:32and walk as you are in the light.
- 29:34So yeah, that's good. Yeah, the incredible truth here
- 29:39is like, you think about the word deliver like a package
- 29:42doesn't deliver itself. Never once.
- 29:44I mean, someone brings that package to my front door and you
- 29:48think about the word translate. That simply means to be moved
- 29:51from one place to another again by by another force.
- 29:56It's not something that we can't translate ourselves.
- 29:58I've never been able to show up at Waverly without actually
- 30:01driving or walking or running there, you know, But he did he
- 30:06translate. He just moved us from here to
- 30:08there by his word or by his blood or however you'd want to
- 30:12read that. I mean, that's an incredible
- 30:13truth. But I really like what you said,
- 30:15Andrew, about, you know, think about the person that's reading
- 30:20this for the first time ever and like he don't has no concept
- 30:24that somebody died to deliver him or, you know, you you read
- 30:28stuff like this. This God has strengthened us
- 30:32with all might, you know, he has delivered us from the, wait a
- 30:35minute, us from the power of darkness.
- 30:37I mean, like, so you mean I'm like free, free.
- 30:40I like the power of darkness doesn't affect me anymore.
- 30:43Yes, that's what it means. That's right.
- 30:45And it translated us into the Kingdom of his.
- 30:48Like, I mean, this would be astonishing if you wouldn't be
- 30:52indoctrinated by the church, wouldn't it?
- 30:54Yeah, Oh my goodness. This would be incredible news
- 30:58for somebody that never heard anything like it.
- 31:00I mean, I tell you what this is, this is hardcore Christianity
- 31:03right here. This is as simple and as hard as
- 31:07it gets right there, man. And and he even has the brass to
- 31:12call us suitable for the inheritance, in whom we have the
- 31:23redemption through his blood, even the even the forgiveness of
- 31:26sins. Yeah, let's just throw that in
- 31:29there, yeah. Yeah, maybe, maybe just make
- 31:31sure that they understand exactly what I'm talking about
- 31:34and exactly what is the deliverer here like in whom?
- 31:39So he's talking, he makes it very clear that we know exactly
- 31:43where our delivery is coming from, where the deliverance is
- 31:48coming from, so that we would have no reason to think that
- 31:50some of it lays on us. I mean, we are not even into in
- 31:53this equation whatsoever, except for the fact that we are the
- 31:57subject he's talking about. Anyway, any thoughts on verse 14
- 32:04in addition there? Wow, it's interesting that he
- 32:08makes 2 separate points there. It says in whom we're talking
- 32:11about Jesus Kingdom of his dear Son, in whom we have redemption.
- 32:17So like you said, deliverance. So we have deliverance is that
- 32:20word means ransom in full riddance, deliverance,
- 32:24redemption, salvation through his blood, even the forgiveness
- 32:30of sin that that I mean, you could talk on that for a long
- 32:33time, but so not only did he redeem us through his blood, but
- 32:39he even forgave us of sins past, present and future.
- 32:45And I know there's a lot of people, especially of believers
- 32:49that maybe don't believe that or live in that, but that is so
- 32:54powerful that that he, not only are we delivered, we are
- 32:59delivered, right? We are set free.
- 33:01So let's live like we're set free.
- 33:04Amen. That's right, Andrew.
- 33:08Yeah, I wish we would just believe that verse.
- 33:12If we would believe that verse, we wouldn't have altar calls, we
- 33:15wouldn't have confessions, we wouldn't do any of that.
- 33:21We would just go with the fact that Jesus took your sins.
- 33:25He did through his blood and put us from a dark Kingdom to a
- 33:31Kingdom of light. And in order for him to do that
- 33:34yet to forgive us our sins and he did it with his blood,
- 33:39they're gone. And if you think just some of
- 33:42them are gone and it's your responsibility for the ones that
- 33:46you're going to commit after you believe, then you're not
- 33:48forgiven. Your sins are not covered.
- 33:52It is up to you to cover your sins by the to reach over and
- 33:56grab some blood and sprinkle it on top of your sins.
- 33:59Every time you do it, you're going to hell.
- 34:01Stop tricking yourself thinking that.
- 34:04The minister sings, Oh, man, that was some juicy repentance.
- 34:07I mean, did you see them tears? Well, that guy's sorrowful.
- 34:10Oh yeah, that blood's doing its job now.
- 34:13No, that's all a lie. Jesus Christ died one time and
- 34:18took away sins one time forever. And for us to be so ignorant,
- 34:25lacking of understanding spiritual wisdom that we're
- 34:28going to attempt to go up on some wooden man made Pew and
- 34:32kneel down on some carpet and shed some ears and thank God's
- 34:35going to go. Yeah, man, that's getting it.
- 34:38I mean, we're kitten ourselves. It's pathetic.
- 34:41And again, if we understand the gospel, we know that Jesus
- 34:46Christ is the mediator between man and God.
- 34:49And he's taken away the priesthood.
- 34:51He did take it away. He is the great high priest like
- 34:54we started in Hebrews. And if we allow that to be, then
- 34:57we will stay away from sacrifices.
- 35:00We will stay away from offering our own fruits and vegetables
- 35:03like Cain did. We, we should not going to do
- 35:07it. We're we're going to believe
- 35:08that Jesus Christ actually did what he said he did.
- 35:11And we're going to believe it and we're going to believe it
- 35:15like Abraham did. We're going to believe that our
- 35:19our spiritual blessings are in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
- 35:24And that's where they're at. They're up there, and one day
- 35:27I'm going to see them. And one day I'm going to be
- 35:30there and it's going to be revealed and it's going to be a
- 35:33reality. But right now I'm believing it
- 35:36by faith. Even if I experienced negative
- 35:39things, even if I experienced darkness, even if I experience
- 35:43guilt, it doesn't change the fact that Jesus Christ make me
- 35:47free and delivered me. We believe in it.
- 35:51It's a faith challenge. And most of us don't want that
- 35:54challenge. And when we see that challenge,
- 35:56we go, oh, you're not delivered. Oh, you need to read this book.
- 36:00Hey, have you heard this guy? He can deliver you from evil
- 36:03spirits. And if you have not found a
- 36:05purpose, well, read this book and you'll find purpose.
- 36:09You know, you know, get some spiritual wisdom and spiritual
- 36:13understanding and it'll be. Well, the question I always have
- 36:18in my mind about the altar, you know, like you, there's songs
- 36:23about the altar, you know, coming to the altar, why are we
- 36:28bringing back something that has been destroyed and has been
- 36:33taken care of by the blood of Jesus, right?
- 36:36I mean, why are we coming to the altar?
- 36:38Like why do you have to come to the altar?
- 36:42It just doesn't make sense to me.
- 36:44The focus becomes the altar and not Christ.
- 36:47It's such an insult. To this the blood of Christ.
- 36:50What an insult. Yeah, no, it is absolutely.
- 36:54He's asking nothing of that kind of thing here, just, you know,
- 36:58asking us to believe this, this incredible story that he's
- 37:02writing down here. Like, yeah, yeah, So good.
- 37:07Anyway, all right, verse 15 and 16, I guess talking about Jesus,
- 37:13who is the image of the invisible God, the first born of
- 37:17every creature or by Him were all things created that are in
- 37:21heaven and that are in earth visible and invisible, whether
- 37:25they be Thrones or dominions or principalities or powers, All
- 37:31things were created by Him and for Him.
- 37:36We'll stop there. And it goes on actually that
- 37:39that thought goes on a little bit.
- 37:42But who is the image of the invisible God?
- 37:46That's interesting that that Jesus, I'm assuming he's talking
- 37:49here about Jesus and he was the image.
- 37:55So you look at Jesus, you see God, that's that's what it's
- 38:00saying there. And the first born of every
- 38:02creature. Oh, interesting.
- 38:04So he so again, to get back into the context and the, and the,
- 38:08the storyline here now he is making sure that we know who
- 38:13this deliverer is, right? I mean, he told us how this
- 38:16happened and what he did for us and in our stead.
- 38:19Now he's making sure that we know who this guy is, right.
- 38:24No one go ahead if you have any thoughts on 15 or 16.
- 38:27Yeah. So there's a lot of lot of
- 38:30thoughts. I guess I'd I also really stood
- 38:35out to me there when verse 15 he said talking about Jesus, who is
- 38:39the image of the invisible God. So if we want to know, you know,
- 38:44what is God, who is God? What does he look like?
- 38:49Christ is the image of him, right?
- 38:51And he God is a spiritual being, but he does have an image.
- 38:55He has a form and in Genesis it talks about, you know, when they
- 39:00created man, let us create them in our image.
- 39:03So God is yes, he is a spiritual almighty being, but he does have
- 39:11a, a body, right? He has a backside.
- 39:13We know that because he showed it to Moses and he has a face.
- 39:17We know that. So it it's just really
- 39:20important. I think what he's laying out
- 39:22here is he's, he's laying out here who Christ is and who God
- 39:27is, right? And like showing us that Christ
- 39:31did not come into the scene of the crucifixion, or I should
- 39:36say, when he was born from Mary, right?
- 39:40As a baby, Jesus was on the scene from the beginning.
- 39:44He was there when the earth was created, right?
- 39:47And, and that was something that for me as a young believer, it
- 39:51took me a while to grasp that, to actually realize.
- 39:55And that Christ was there. He says he was the first born of
- 40:00every creature. And for by Him we're all things
- 40:04created that are in heaven and that are in earth visible.
- 40:07And invisible. And whether they be Thrones or
- 40:10domains of principalities or powers, all things were created
- 40:14by him and for him. And it's amazing to think that
- 40:18actually, not only was he there in creation to, you know, help
- 40:23create the whole earth and everything that is in the earth,
- 40:27but he is actually creating all things.
- 40:30Like when you can think about that, like everything that is
- 40:33here today says principalities and powers and dominions,
- 40:38Thrones, all these things, things, earthly things that are
- 40:42taking place now here on this earth are created by him.
- 40:48That's just, I mean, I don't know, that's just hard for our
- 40:51little brains to grasp. But what he's trying to lay out
- 40:55here, I see, is that he's trying to point out who this deliverer
- 41:00Jesus Christ actually is and how almighty he is.
- 41:05Yeah, as a matter of fact, he's so much of a mighty being that
- 41:11it says for by him we're all things created.
- 41:14I mean, how much more mighty than that can you get?
- 41:16So in other words, when he says that he delivered us from the
- 41:20power of darkness and translated us, you can take it straight to
- 41:23the bank. This guy knows what he's talking
- 41:25about. That is the authority on this
- 41:26matter. Just like you would go to a
- 41:28scientist to help you explain what an atom is.
- 41:31You know, you would trust him because he studied this thing.
- 41:33So we trust him. I mean, he created this thing
- 41:36after all. He created you.
- 41:37He knows how you work, all that good stuff.
- 41:40So why not trust him if he's writing this?
- 41:42So he's just making it clear that we make the connection
- 41:44here, right? Yeah, and by the way, we're all
- 41:46going to be judged by him as well.
- 41:48He says he's going to judge the whole world.
- 41:51Jesus Christ is plenty to. So yeah.
- 41:54And also be our high priest that interest Andrew.
- 41:59Yeah, I think. Like you were pointed out is
- 42:02it's a big qualifying record here.
- 42:06Like he's highly qualified to make the claims that he's making
- 42:10in order to justify us. Like he actually can do it.
- 42:14He can back it up. It's not like some prophet that
- 42:19didn't create anything along and say, hey, you know what?
- 42:22If you follow me, I will deliver you.
- 42:23I'll take you all the way, you know.
- 42:26I'm the guy, you stick with me, we'll go.
- 42:28Places Jesus actually can say that and do it because he
- 42:33created everything. And he can actually make that
- 42:37statement that he has delivered us from all principalities and
- 42:41powers because he made him and he's above him.
- 42:45Yeah, He's superior to any principality and power because
- 42:48he made him. No.
- 42:50And that'd be like if I build a house or if you build a house
- 42:54and then I come in there and go. This is not Bill's right, you it
- 43:01right here we could use some glue and here we could use some
- 43:04staples and here we need to use an extra 2 by 4 and we start
- 43:10painting at the color that we think it should be and you would
- 43:13walk in and you're what amazed at the make of this perfect
- 43:17house. Well, that's kind of what I
- 43:19think we're doing a lot of times is we're trying to fix a perfect
- 43:23scenario where Jesus Christ is the great high priest.
- 43:27He, he's, he's far above anything else.
- 43:31He's, in fact, he's God, He's the creator, and he's the one
- 43:34making these claims. So let's not try to fix it.
- 43:38Let's believe it. Let's not try to correct it.
- 43:41Let's not try to make it fit our human fleshly mind, because if
- 43:48it has to be able to resonate with your flesh and your
- 43:52emotions, they might not be spiritual.
- 43:56It's us. There's a reason that the
- 43:58Colonel cannot understand the things of the Spirit because
- 44:01they're spiritually discerned. So if we can spiritually discern
- 44:06this and be completely lifted up, maybe you need to get, maybe
- 44:10you need to believe for the first time.
- 44:12Just believe it. Yeah, right.
- 44:15So using that same analogy, Andrew, so if the the guy that
- 44:20created us, he knows how we operate.
- 44:23He knows that we're going to get depressed.
- 44:25He knows that we're going to get that's we're going to struggle.
- 44:28He knows that we're going to, you know, lust after things that
- 44:32we shouldn't have. He knows that we're going to
- 44:35have a hard time getting along with our wife sometimes or with
- 44:38our children sometimes or our brothers.
- 44:41You know, the body of Christ. He knows that money is going to
- 44:45be an issue. He knows that that things are
- 44:47going to affect our our mind and our emotions and our body in a
- 44:53negative way. The guy that knew that when he
- 44:56created us still chose to give us this information about
- 45:00himself and how to be delivered. I mean, I guess that's correct
- 45:06then. And, and maybe the philosopher
- 45:08is wrong. If we don't need books to read,
- 45:11maybe actually what we should do is pay attention to what the
- 45:15creator wrote. And that, that I think that's
- 45:16exactly what he's doing. He's like you said, he's
- 45:18qualifying himself to be giving us this information because we
- 45:24had a, we had an app built for our horse sale that we could.
- 45:28It was an app that we had built to keep track of the horses that
- 45:31were in the barn and which pen they were pending so that the
- 45:33public could just search up the horse number.
- 45:36And it would say always depend pen 65 though, that he could
- 45:38walk to that pen and go find the but the thing wasn't working
- 45:40right. Who do I call?
- 45:42The guy that made it. The guy that made it exactly and
- 45:45he had to fix just like he knew exactly what it needed.
- 45:48And that's what we're talking about here.
- 45:50How better, how much better would it be to go to the guy
- 45:53that actually designed us and use his manual to work things
- 45:58out if if we struggle with lust or whatever?
- 46:00Huh. Well, there we go.
- 46:01The problem is that right that that takes faith that you know
- 46:06what I'm saying. That's the problem.
- 46:08Like, so another thing I thought of when you were saying that is
- 46:11there's so many authors of self help books that after they died,
- 46:17like their book is, I mean, there's very little books that
- 46:22go on for hundreds of years after the Arthur dies, right?
- 46:26But the Bible is actually still the most sold book in the world.
- 46:332000 years, whatever. However, whenever it was printed
- 46:36later, it's not that long, but it's a long time, right?
- 46:40And so. Yeah.
- 46:42One thing I forgot to mention that I still think it's kind of
- 46:45an, A valid point is So what do you do with this information?
- 46:52The I when I was still very green with the idea that you can
- 46:57just take this to the bank, I was sharing with people from
- 47:01church, actually a ministry. It was the the main pastor and
- 47:07he ended up saying, well, what would we do if we if that was
- 47:10the way it was, then what would, what would we even do as a
- 47:13church? Like what would be Mike?
- 47:18What would be our job then? Now.
- 47:22We're saying you probably get everything and everything's
- 47:24already done. Then what's what's what are we
- 47:28going to do if our sins are already gone past for in the
- 47:31future, why are we here like. What?
- 47:33What are we doing and? I look back to that and I'm
- 47:37like, Nah, that's pretty sad, but.
- 47:39But if you actually believe what the way he believes, it makes
- 47:42sense though if God is looking at the church to process sins to
- 47:48get people on the right track and to keep them.
- 47:51That sanctification thing going, if that's the responsibility of
- 47:55the church, not the spirit of Christ in you where you get to
- 47:58know him. If it's the responsibility of
- 48:00the elders to look out for your souls like Paul does say in
- 48:04their mind that's what they're doing.
- 48:06But in my mind, an elder's job is to preach What we're
- 48:10preaching tonight is so that those souls will we're looking
- 48:14out for souls not to get another member of our to our group.
- 48:19What? Which, But simultaneously, we'll
- 48:22do that so. And many individuals do ask that
- 48:27question. Well, then what do I do?
- 48:29Like, if it's already done well #1 be thankful and raise an
- 48:33awesome family. That's something you can do.
- 48:37Walk in faith. I guarantee if you start
- 48:39believing this, the challenge will come.
- 48:42You know now that now when you get tended with lying or lust,
- 48:47believe the fact that you're delivered.
- 48:49That's something you can do. You want to do something.
- 48:53Believe that you're delivered. When you're tempted, when the
- 48:55things are hard, know that Jesus Christ give you.
- 48:58Gave you peace, He made peace. On the cross for us, that's
- 49:02something you can do. You can talk to someone else
- 49:06about this good news. That's the other thing you can
- 49:09do. There's a lot to do.
- 49:12Just because someone gave you anything you need doesn't mean
- 49:15you don't have anything to do. Yeah, right.
- 49:18And that's and that's exactly what Paul I, I just when you
- 49:20started talking about, that's a really good point, Andrew.
- 49:24This is exactly what Paul was dealing with when he wrote
- 49:26Galatians. He was like Galatia or Galatia I
- 49:31guess is where it is. He says, There, I marvel that
- 49:33you are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace
- 49:37of Christ unto another gospel, which is not another.
- 49:40And it goes on to say, that if we are an Angel, or from heaven,
- 49:43or any other person would preach of this other thing, let him be
- 49:47accursed. And we say before, So now I say
- 49:50again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you, then that
- 49:56you have received, let him be accursed.
- 49:58That is actually our work here. That.
- 50:01If you want, if you want to preach about something, preach
- 50:04what Paul did, you know, counter these these untruths, bring back
- 50:10the simplicity that is in Christ.
- 50:11Stand on that and share that. That's actually the gospel, not
- 50:14this other muckety muck that people are fussing about all the
- 50:17time. The gospel is simple and we're
- 50:19we're reading through this is this is a clear gospel message
- 50:23right here in the first book chapter of Colossians that we're
- 50:25going through and we can't get this information out of books of
- 50:29the world. This information comes straight
- 50:32from the word of God. And that's that's where it is
- 50:34and it's not a popular thing. That's part of the work for
- 50:37sure. But Ephesians chapter 4 makes it
- 50:40pretty clear what the work of the ministry is through the
- 50:43gifts of the Spirit. It says this Ephesians 412
- 50:48through 15. It says for the perfecting of
- 50:51the Saints, for the working of the ministry, for the edifying
- 50:54of the body of Christ, till we all come in the unity of the
- 50:59faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God.
- 51:02Unto a perfect man, and unto the measure of the stature of the
- 51:06fullness of Christ, that we henceforth be no more children
- 51:11tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctor
- 51:15by the sleight of men, and by the cunning craftiness whereby
- 51:18we lie and wait to deceive. But speaking the truth in love,
- 51:23may we grow up unto Him in all things, which is the head, even
- 51:27Christ. That is so clear What the work
- 51:31of the ministry is in the body of Christ, and what it looks
- 51:34like. Wow.
- 51:36That is so rich right there man. I'm nailed it on the head there,
- 51:39Melvin, that. Was the head on so good, so good
- 51:42information, so good information.
- 51:45All right, one more quick or two or whatever we get time for
- 51:48verse 17. And he is before all things and
- 51:52by him all things consist. Now this is finally the
- 51:55conclusion. This is the last part of this
- 51:58long sentence that he's writing about.
- 52:00And I remember when I was preaching, I preached through
- 52:04Colossians many years ago and I got to to studying into this
- 52:08word consist there. And it simply means to to stand.
- 52:13Let me see, it says to stand together, to be in a fixed or
- 52:16permanent state. That is that it.
- 52:19That's what the word consist means.
- 52:21And so he is before all things and by him all things.
- 52:25So he is the one that causes things to stand the way that
- 52:28they are, right? I mean, if he, if he establishes
- 52:32a truth, whether that truth be a tree or a blade of grass or a
- 52:36spiritual truth that we're reading about here, I think the
- 52:38same thing. He causes it to stand.
- 52:40He causes it to stand as the as the truth, the thing and and
- 52:47since since he was before all things, he was a designer of
- 52:52them, you know. So again, this is a qualifying
- 52:54statement. This is this is just a real good
- 52:57truth here. Any other things on that melt?
- 52:59Yeah, I I like what it says in John one.
- 53:02It talks about Jesus being the word.
- 53:05It says in John one, one through 3 in the beginning was the word.
- 53:10So Jesus was in the beginning and the word was with God and
- 53:14the word was God. Jesus was with God and he was
- 53:18God and the same was in the beginning with God and then in
- 53:23verse 3 it says and all things were made by him and without him
- 53:29was not anything made that was made.
- 53:32I mean, that's just I just came across that verse verses just
- 53:36now and it just it, it's another verse just sitting pointing out
- 53:39what he's saying here. He is before all things and by
- 53:42him all things consist. I mean, it's pretty simple.
- 53:45Actually that's it is very simple Andrew.
- 53:49Yeah, he's like the magnetic glory and power and forces that
- 53:54hold everything together. If Jesus Christ would leave, I
- 53:58think the sun would get out of rhythm immediately.
- 54:01I think the moon and the stars would all come like scrambled
- 54:05eggs and everything would just fall apart.
- 54:08He is the reason that everything is running and functionally
- 54:13functioning perfectly and he's the reason we have winter,
- 54:17summer, spring and fall. He the reason that the air is
- 54:22fresh and clean and has oxygen in it.
- 54:25If God wasn't in the air, we'd die 'cause we have no oxygen.
- 54:30He's life. And that's, and again, He's the
- 54:35creator like Paul always does, or God.
- 54:37I mean, actually it's God. He likes to say it in many
- 54:42different ways in case we didn't get it when he said it plainly
- 54:44the first time. So it's like, you know what?
- 54:48I'm the one that made everything and nothing of this world or the
- 54:55world to come were visible, invisible, Thrones, dominions,
- 54:58powers, none of that would exist.
- 54:59It wasn't for me. I made it all, and I am the one
- 55:03that made peace with the blood of his cross, and that's coming
- 55:09straight from the horse's mouth, like Leon would say.
- 55:13Yeah, and and that's that's a good place to get it from.
- 55:16It hasn't been hasn't been defiled.
- 55:18So anyway, I'm not going to do another mercy kind of talks
- 55:22about AI mean the same same thing here, but different
- 55:25subject little bit. So we'll we'll leave that for
- 55:28next time. We're a few minutes early yet,
- 55:30but I just you know, I'm just thinking about about these
- 55:35truths and stuff. So I, I think that we can take
- 55:38we as believers or, or unbelievers, actually anybody
- 55:41we, we can read this and really take heart, really be encouraged
- 55:47and really be excited that you can actually live and walk the
- 55:53Christian life or your life, however, whatever you want to
- 55:56call it, victorious. I mean, the road map is here.
- 56:00It's clear that there's just not a lot of fuss and feathers about
- 56:04it. Just just keeps it so plain and
- 56:06simple. And this, this doesn't have to
- 56:08be a drudgery. A lot of people talk about all,
- 56:11you know, my, my thing this week that I struggled with or
- 56:15whatever. And and they have these, these
- 56:16great battles in their life. Yeah, there's going to be tough
- 56:19time. Andrew would be the first one to
- 56:20say that not everything is easy. You know, he's going through a
- 56:23really, really tough season, but I don't see him discouraged.
- 56:26I, I'm, I'm sure you are sometimes, but you read truths
- 56:29like this and, and they, they, those truths set you free
- 56:34because it's not on us. We get to escape.
- 56:37We get to be delivered from this, this Jesus said my yoke is
- 56:42easy and my burden is light. Did he mean that or not?
- 56:44Yes, he did. You can see it by what he wrote
- 56:46here that he is absolutely serious about this.
- 56:50Yes, about times are tough, but no, we don't have to stay in
- 56:53that miry clay. He set our feet on the solid
- 56:56rock and put him there to stay. You know that That's good news.
- 57:00So man, I'll tell you what, take heart guys.
- 57:02There's, there's more to life than groveling around and
- 57:05begging God for some kind of deliverance when He clearly says
- 57:08that it is right here before your eyes.
- 57:10All you need to do is actually believe what He said.
- 57:13And that's not even a thing where you got to get into the
- 57:15faith. Got to get into the faith.
- 57:17Just simply believe what He wrote down like you wouldn't
- 57:19believe a story in any other book or something I told you
- 57:21about the weather. Yeah.
- 57:22And then and then walk, walk in that, you know, not just not
- 57:27just believe it, but act on it. You know, like walking, right?
- 57:33Yeah, one of the things that we find a lot that I'm pretty much
- 57:36now most of the people I try to interact with, especially from
- 57:40kind of outside and also religious, their backgrounds is,
- 57:44well, the word of God has been messed with.
- 57:46I just can't really trust it. And well, I they found some more
- 57:49manuscripts that were never put in the Bible, and King James is
- 57:53corrupt and this and that and all that.
- 57:56And. We can go all down all the
- 57:59excuses and reasons of why we shouldn't believe the gospel and
- 58:02why it's just men and all that. But what it comes down to to do
- 58:06this is do you have joy and peace about life You have is is
- 58:12life full for you? And that is one thing you cannot
- 58:15answer if you don't know these truths.
- 58:17That's. Right.
- 58:18You cannot have it. And so I just won't allow myself
- 58:23to go down that road. It's so easy to go with them,
- 58:26trying to think you have to defend yourself.
- 58:28I started just saying what is true is that, well, according to
- 58:33my understanding, and what Jesus Christ did on the cross for me
- 58:36gives me peace and victory and joy in life like nothing else.
- 58:40And what you're offering sounds depressing.
- 58:43Yeah, that's questioning. Everything.
- 58:46Trying to read into everything sounds depressing and stressful
- 58:50and bondage. My Jesus delivered me and that's
- 58:53what I know. And if I'm a child, if I'm
- 58:56ignorant and an idiot and a child for believing it, then so
- 59:01be it. I have peace.
- 59:04That's good. I was so this I'll let you talk
- 59:10in. But so this past week was our
- 59:12big horse sale. And my auctioneer for the
- 59:15Saturday, the last day of the sale, was one of them was an
- 59:18Amish guy from Kansas. Jerry Vanderboard, who's
- 59:21listening right now, knows this guy.
- 59:24And he came to me there on the auction block and he said, Lee,
- 59:28and I want to tell you this, this morning when I woke up, I
- 59:31knew I had to sell horses today. And he said my voice was not
- 59:34right. It was as dusty in there.
- 59:36And it's just kind of gets after five days of auction, you know,
- 59:40every day it's it gets kind of gravelly.
- 59:43So he said, Lee and I got down on my knees in my motel room and
- 59:46I said, now godly and hired me for this job and, and we need to
- 59:50make sure that my voice works so I can honor my part of the of
- 59:53the job. And he said I got up there on
- 59:55the mic and everything was fine, just like it should have.
- 59:57Been there you go. I mean talk about simple faith.
- 1:00:00Someone that just broke it straight to God and told him now
- 1:00:03this is the deal. It was refreshing.
- 1:00:05I like, I really loved. Hearing yeah, that's good.
- 1:00:08I love that. I was just going to read these
- 1:00:11couple verses that as you were talking it, Kate, it came to my
- 1:00:15mind. It says be aware lest any man,
- 1:00:17this is Colossians 29, we're going to get to this.
- 1:00:19But it says, Be aware lest any man spoil you through philosophy
- 1:00:23and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, and after the
- 1:00:26rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
- 1:00:29For in him in Christ dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead
- 1:00:34fatherly, and ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all
- 1:00:39principalities and power. That pretty much explains it
- 1:00:44right there and wraps it up what we were talking about here.
- 1:00:47And I'm, I'm so looking forward to going through the rest of
- 1:00:50this. Like I said, this, this is just
- 1:00:51a jam packed little short book. It's going to be good.
- 1:00:54So anyway, we're out of time. Thank you brothers for your time
- 1:00:58and and your input here. Really appreciate that.
- 1:01:02Have a good week. If anyone wants to, like I said,
- 1:01:03but the start of the show, if anyone wants to go back and find
- 1:01:06the previous version, the previous recordings of this
- 1:01:09chapter to tie it all together, just look at Simply Christ
- 1:01:12Ministries. You can find everything right
- 1:01:14there. Appreciate everything guys, have
- 1:01:17a good week. Thank you.
