- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, thank you very much, Bob. And this is a
- 0:02Speaker 1: good place to kind of paint a picture for everybody.
- 0:04Speaker 1: As we're standing here, you've got seniors walking out. They've
- 0:08Speaker 1: taken the name plates off of their lockers, and that's
- 0:11Speaker 1: kind of the finality of it. There's still a road
- 0:13Speaker 1: game next week, there is a bowl game to be had,
- 0:16Speaker 1: But senior day, what did those emotions feel like for you?
- 0:20Speaker 2: Well, you know, haven't spent four years here now every
- 0:23Speaker 2: year it just gets a little bit deeper and more
- 0:25Speaker 2: emotional because there's guys you spent more time with and
- 0:29Speaker 2: the things that they've been able to accomplish. And then
- 0:31Speaker 2: the guys that have come into this program, you know
- 0:34Speaker 2: as transfers, and the way they integrated themselves into this
- 0:36Speaker 2: program and just embrace what we were all about and
- 0:39Speaker 2: the value add was amazing. So you try to put
- 0:43Speaker 2: those emotions away until after the game. But like you said,
- 0:45Speaker 2: you see these guys walking out, it's the last time
- 0:47Speaker 2: they're going to probably play was for sure, play at
- 0:49Speaker 2: the rent. Hopefully they come back as a lums and
- 0:52Speaker 2: come to our games and all. But it's sobering. It's sobering.
- 0:57Speaker 1: The win though you come out with the ten point victory.
- 1:00Speaker 1: How do you think the team accepted what had happened
- 1:03Speaker 1: in the first half and was able to go out
- 1:05Speaker 1: and seal off those thirty.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Minutes outstanding, you know. And I got to give a
- 1:09Speaker 2: lot of credit to our defense today, you know. I
- 1:11Speaker 2: mean they you know, they worked the ball up and
- 1:13Speaker 2: down the field a little bit, but we got stops,
- 1:15Speaker 2: and we had to get stops, and then our offense
- 1:17Speaker 2: came out in the second half and had that drive
- 1:19Speaker 2: to score and then we were able to put it
- 1:21Speaker 2: away at the end. And that's what it's all about.
- 1:23Speaker 2: So I think we showed toughness and resilience and character
- 1:26Speaker 2: and all those things that you're looking for in a
- 1:27Speaker 2: good football team.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Cam Chadwick and Donovan Branch and Umar Diamande. I'm listening
- 1:32Speaker 1: guys that probably need an ice bath. I'm sure they're
- 1:34Speaker 1: accountless more that we don't even know about. It's game
- 1:37Speaker 1: number eleven. What does it say about those guys who
- 1:39Speaker 1: just found a way to try and stay on the field.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Well, I mean it was a physical game. I mean,
- 1:43Speaker 2: you know, you're playing that type of offense and they
- 1:45Speaker 2: just you know, run it every down and just try
- 1:47Speaker 2: to pound you and they've got big, physical backs and
- 1:49Speaker 2: they're disciplined and tough. I mean they represent the United
- 1:52Speaker 2: States of America. I mean they are are protectors. So yeah,
- 1:56Speaker 2: we're gonna have to heal up and we'll go do
- 1:59Speaker 2: the best we can to get everyone back. This week.
- 2:01Speaker 2: We have an important game Saturday on the road at
- 2:03Speaker 2: FAU and then guys will have a little break where
- 2:07Speaker 2: they'll get a chance to heal before we find out
- 2:09Speaker 2: what bowl we go to.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Four carries for fifteen yards for Cam Edwards in the
- 2:12Speaker 1: first half, twenty carries for one hundred and fifty yards
- 2:15Speaker 1: in the second half. What more can he do? And
- 2:19Speaker 1: what might be his final game here at the Rent.
- 2:20Speaker 2: It's just balance, you know. We've talked a lot about balance.
- 2:24Speaker 2: I don't know what else he could do. I mean,
- 2:25Speaker 2: he's a heartbeat of this team, you know. I Mean
- 2:27Speaker 2: there's a lot of guys Joe and Skyler and Damon
- 2:30Speaker 2: and Donnie, but Cam is like our toughness, you know.
- 2:36Speaker 2: And when he's doing that, I mean everybody just feeds
- 2:39Speaker 2: off it.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Last year six and one at home, you managed to
- 2:43Speaker 1: do a little bit better than that. This year six
- 2:44Speaker 1: and zero at home just the third time in the
- 2:46Speaker 1: stadium's history, a team's gone undefeated. What allows the group
- 2:50Speaker 1: to be so focused and not allow the distractions of
- 2:54Speaker 1: being at home get to them.
- 2:56Speaker 2: It's not a team that I've found to be easily distracted,
- 2:58Speaker 2: whether we're at home on the road. Certainly, the routine.
- 3:01Speaker 2: You know, if coming into a place where you're comfortable
- 3:03Speaker 2: in the locker room, that you're comfortable on a field
- 3:05Speaker 2: that's fantastic, and comfortableent in front of your fans. I
- 3:09Speaker 2: think it just gives us a lot of confidence. When
- 3:11Speaker 2: you win games at home, you know that confidence compounds,
- 3:15Speaker 2: So I think that's what it is.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Congrats on the winm We'll talk to you next week.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Okay. Thanks,
