Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, the pick is in. Let's see who the
- 0:01Speaker 1: Lakers are set to get. Yeah, we nail that. It's
- 0:05Speaker 1: Cameron car. This was the best available. This is a
- 0:08Speaker 1: slide that probably shouldn't have happened. Boogiey your thoughts.
- 0:11Speaker 2: I like him next to Luca, just thinking about his
- 0:14Speaker 2: passing ability, the way he's able to get up and
- 0:17Speaker 2: down the floor, the athletic ability, even you know, some
- 0:20Speaker 2: signs of shooting the ball. Shooting around Luca is always
- 0:23Speaker 2: a great thing. But I'm thinking of an athletics standpoint
- 0:27Speaker 2: and the passing ability of Luca. I'm expecting some pretty
- 0:31Speaker 2: cool highlight players from me to Kurt.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm with you, but I think that, you know,
- 0:35Speaker 3: playing him with a Luca playing with it even like
- 0:38Speaker 3: a guy like Austin Reeves. Lebron is still in in
- 0:41Speaker 3: limbo a little bit there. But if he's back, basically
- 0:42Speaker 3: gonna ask Cameron Carr to use his size, his athleticism
- 0:46Speaker 3: and his shooting ability and basically just be in the
- 0:48Speaker 3: right spot and make shots. And when it's time to run,
- 0:51Speaker 3: get out and run. And it's good to see that
- 0:52Speaker 3: Cam Carr gets drafted here. We need to make the
- 0:54Speaker 3: NBA combine need something again, he was one of the
- 0:57Speaker 3: most productive players there. I'm very surprised that he's this farm,
- 1:00Speaker 3: but I think it's a great win for the Lakers
- 1:01Speaker 3: to get a player like cam car at this spot
- 1:03Speaker 3: in the draft.
- 1:04Speaker 1: All right, Wall, So are you getting tired of giving
- 1:06Speaker 1: out a grades yet?
- 1:07Speaker 4: I mean, these teams are kind of on the same
- 1:09Speaker 4: page as us, right, I mean at twenty four, I
- 1:12Speaker 4: have to give this, I have to give this an ay.
- 1:15Speaker 4: I mean I could say that he shot from three
- 1:18Speaker 4: and then he had a forty two max vertical, but
- 1:21Speaker 4: you don't need those numbers. He's like an eye test guy, right.
- 1:24Speaker 4: You just look at him shoot the ball, Look how
- 1:26Speaker 4: he flies down the floor, how he plays above the rim.
- 1:28Speaker 4: To me, he's just an eye test standout and a
- 1:30Speaker 4: plug and play guy. He reminds me just like Devin Vassell,
- 1:35Speaker 4: who again just a three and D wing doesn't have
- 1:38Speaker 4: to do too much creativity, step into a couple of
- 1:41Speaker 4: one to two dribble pull ups. He's got the deep
- 1:44Speaker 4: range to catch and shoot and then finish plays. But
- 1:47Speaker 4: let's look at h Let's look at to see how
- 1:49Speaker 4: he fits in with la here, and I guess we're
- 1:53Speaker 4: gonna see what happens with Reeves. But yeah, I mean
- 1:55Speaker 4: he's probably gonna be somebody who comes off the bench
- 1:58Speaker 4: early on and just provides some spacing, some shot making,
- 2:02Speaker 4: some finishing. He's not going to have the ball in
- 2:04Speaker 4: his hands a lot in terms of creating, but just
- 2:07Speaker 4: an easy plug and play three and D guy with
- 2:10Speaker 4: the high floor and invalued archetype.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of guys in limbo on that Lakers
- 2:15Speaker 1: rotation right now, but Cameron Carr will find his way
- 2:18Speaker 1: into it. One thing I loved about his year at Baylor,
- 2:20Speaker 1: it was not supposed to be his year. Necessarily came
- 2:23Speaker 1: from Tennessee. End's up at Baylor in year two, and
- 2:27Speaker 1: this was supposed to be two day Yes, and to
- 2:29Speaker 1: day is now headed back to college. I'm sure he'll
- 2:31Speaker 1: have a great year. But from the moment you set
- 2:34Speaker 1: your eyes on that team, it was Cameron Carr that
- 2:37Speaker 1: was the guy that needed the ball in his hands.
- 2:39Speaker 1: That was just too efficient, too good, too prolific as
- 2:42Speaker 1: a three level scorer. And sometimes I think guys that
- 2:45Speaker 1: earned that that didn't necessarily have that role promise to
- 2:48Speaker 1: them are the ones that I want to put my
- 2:50Speaker 1: personal bets on at the next level.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it's crazy to think that Cam Carr,
- 2:55Speaker 3: a guy with such offensive prowess and ability, couldn't touch
- 2:58Speaker 3: the floor for a Rick Barnes team, that Tennessee goes
- 3:01Speaker 3: to Baylor and immediately becomes what he became. I think
- 3:04Speaker 3: it's a really cool story in itself. And uh yeah,
- 3:07Speaker 3: if I'm a Lakers fan, I'm extremely excited to have
- 3:09Speaker 3: that level of wing scoring athleticism off the bench.
- 3:12Speaker 2: And I think we still be trusting Rick Barnes.
- 3:15Speaker 3: And he told camp Carr he was Kevin Durant and
- 3:18Speaker 3: didn't play me like I'm ody, I'm going to Bay.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I know who Boogie's loser of the night is in
- 3:23Speaker 1: a few more minutes here, By the way, question everybody
- 3:26Speaker 1: wants to know what does this mean for Bronni's role in.
- 3:28Speaker 3: La is Lebron there?
- 3:31Speaker 1: Okay, let's go to the fish save the day for us? Here?
- 3:34Speaker 4: What he got?
- 3:36Speaker 5: Who knows that Lebron's gonna go? I don't think he
- 3:38Speaker 5: knows right now. I think the Lakers offseason priority begins
- 3:41Speaker 5: with Austin Reeves and then we'll figure out the rest.
- 3:45Speaker 5: New York does this trade moving down one slot to
- 3:48Speaker 5: save some money I mean, they're gonna have very serious
- 3:53Speaker 5: cost considerations going up against the second Apron. We saw
- 3:56Speaker 5: James Dolan come out publicly and say they're not gonna
- 3:59Speaker 5: go above it. I think they still might have to
- 4:01Speaker 5: to keep this championship team together, but every penny is
- 4:04Speaker 5: going to count for New York to try to keep
- 4:06Speaker 5: Landry Shammitt and Mitchell Robinson. We saw the Knicks do
- 4:11Speaker 5: all different types of things to save literally dollars per
- 4:15Speaker 5: day to stay below the first Apron when they were
- 4:18Speaker 5: hard capped at that because of the mckail bridges trade
- 4:21Speaker 5: a couple of years ago, so we knew New York
- 4:23Speaker 5: was looking to move down from a salary standpoint. It's
- 4:26Speaker 5: just one pick, but they get cash back for this
- 4:29Speaker 5: move with the Lakers, and we'll see if they keep
- 4:32Speaker 5: moving here. There's definitely a lot of inbound trade calls
- 4:35Speaker 5: going into Denver right now at twenty six, so still
- 4:38Speaker 5: some opportunity for movement in the back half of this
- 4:41Speaker 5: or the back ten picks of this first round.
