- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome to Fall. 106.7 Night FM with Cubby and Christine
- 0:02Speaker 1: in the morning. Got producer Kristen producing. And I thought
- 0:04Speaker 1: of you last night, Christine, around 8.04 p.m. when the
- 0:08Speaker 1: clock hit. Oh, yes.
- 0:09Speaker 2: It happened.
- 0:09Speaker 1: It happened. It's officially fall. And we were talking all
- 0:12Speaker 1: day yesterday how, yeah, it's not really fall yet. But today, now,
- 0:16Speaker 1: the official first full day of fall.
- 0:19Speaker 2: You will feel it this morning.
- 0:20Speaker 1: You will.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Like, really, get yourself a coat.
- 0:24Speaker 1: That walk is about seven minutes from our parking garage
- 0:27Speaker 1: to the radio station. And that walk felt like 15 minutes.
- 0:30Speaker 2: It's chilly.
- 0:30Speaker 1: It's going to feel even worse.
- 0:32Speaker 2: I know.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Come December. I know. I think I'm underdressed, by the way,
- 0:35Speaker 1: because I'm wearing a sweatshirt, but I don't have a
- 0:37Speaker 1: shirt underneath it. It's a very light sweatshirt.
- 0:39Speaker 2: No, I'm layered.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Oh, you are layered. Good for you.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Yeah, thanks.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Wait, it's not puff coat yet, is it? Oh, no, no.
- 0:46Speaker 2: It's not time for the puff.
- 0:47Speaker 1: What kind of coat do you have today? Oh, that's
- 0:49Speaker 1: a nice little- A little jacket. Yeah.
- 0:51Speaker 2: A little fuzzy jacket.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Fuzzy jacket.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 0:53Speaker 1: That was my radio name when I first started. I
- 0:55Speaker 1: was Fuzzy Jacket. My first radio station back in the 80s.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Yes, I like that.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Everything good at home? Oh, how's Archie doing? Your cat.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Thank you for asking.
- 1:04Speaker 1: The indoor cat that never goes out but went out yesterday.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Yes, he had to go out for his wellness exam
- 1:09Speaker 2: at the vet. Thank you so much, Parkview Animal Hospital, Dr. Guerrero,
- 1:13Speaker 2: because they take such good care of him. That's in Passaic,
- 1:16Speaker 2: New Jersey. That's been our spot for years. He was
- 1:20Speaker 2: a very brave little soldier. Archie had to get, let's see,
- 1:24Speaker 2: He got blood work. We're just checking on him.
- 1:26Speaker 1: How old is he?
- 1:27Speaker 2: He's six.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Okay, that's good.
- 1:29Speaker 2: I'm getting scared because he's older. Because Dr. Guerrero said,
- 1:32Speaker 2: you know, we usually do blood work seven or eight.
- 1:34Speaker 2: And then she looks at me. She goes, you want
- 1:35Speaker 2: it done? I'm like, yeah, let's do a little baseline
- 1:38Speaker 2: on him. And he got his rabies shot. And he
- 1:40Speaker 2: got his nails clipped. And they had to burrito him
- 1:44Speaker 2: in order to do everything.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Oh, swaddle him in the towel?
- 1:46Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:47Speaker 1: His eyes.
- 1:47Speaker 2: He was looking up at me. I thought his eyes
- 1:49Speaker 2: would bulge out of his head. But he was so good.
- 1:52Speaker 2: And they gave me a churro to give him. You know, like.
- 1:54Speaker 2: He wouldn't even take it. I squeezed it out and
- 1:57Speaker 2: it was just all over his little mouth.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Not in the mood?
- 2:00Speaker 2: He was just like, no, no, not now.
- 2:02Speaker 1: And you know that cat is kind of traumatized when
- 2:05Speaker 1: they turn that down.
- 2:05Speaker 2: When they turn that down, exactly.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Because that's a big treat for cats.
- 2:08Speaker 2: The vet and the vet tech were saying that. They're like, whoa, okay.
- 2:11Speaker 2: He doesn't even want that. He was just like, just
- 2:14Speaker 2: get this over with and then I'll have my churro
- 2:17Speaker 2: and we'll go home.
- 2:18Speaker 1: You're a good fur baby mom.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Oh, thank you.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Taking care of Archie. Yeah.
- 2:22Speaker 2: You know. Right. He makes our world very happy.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Hey, at least you're not getting laughed at when you
- 2:26Speaker 1: pick up your kid at school.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Did you get laughed at yesterday?
- 2:29Speaker 1: Again, I get laughed at. Oh, no. So we talked
- 2:31Speaker 1: about this yesterday, and I'll play the audio. On Monday,
- 2:35Speaker 1: my wife Coco picked up Miles from daycare, and she
- 2:39Speaker 1: sent me this video because I wasn't able to do it.
- 2:41Speaker 1: I was with Naomi somewhere else, and this is the
- 2:43Speaker 1: video that Coco, my wife, sent me on Monday driving home,
- 2:47Speaker 1: and this is Miles telling something. If you can't hear it,
- 2:51Speaker 1: I'll explain it. Here we go.
- 2:52Speaker 2: What'd you just say?
- 2:53Speaker 1: Good thing mommy picks me up because every time daddy
- 2:58Speaker 1: picks me up, then my kids laugh because daddy doesn't
- 3:02Speaker 1: have any hair. Okay, so what he said was every
- 3:07Speaker 1: time I pick him up, the kids laugh because daddy
- 3:11Speaker 1: doesn't have any hair. And all this time, I would
- 3:14Speaker 1: pick up Miles, and the kids would be laughing. But also,
- 3:17Speaker 1: Miles is kind of a goofy guy like me, trying
- 3:19Speaker 1: to make people laugh. So I thought they were kind
- 3:21Speaker 1: of laughing at him.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Or laughing with you.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Or laughing with me.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Yes. No, they're laughing at you.
- 3:27Speaker 1: I find out here, two years into picking him up,
- 3:29Speaker 1: that I'm the butt of all jokes with four-year-olds. Three
- 3:32Speaker 1: and four-year-olds. So anyway, I didn't wear a hat yesterday
- 3:35Speaker 1: and I completely forgot.
- 3:36Speaker 2: And did they laugh at you?
- 3:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I opened the door to pick up Miles and
- 3:40Speaker 1: Miles runs to me like he always does. And the
- 3:42Speaker 1: kids like stop coloring and look up at me and go.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Oh my goodness.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Does it feel like you're in... junior high or high
- 3:50Speaker 2: school or something again.
- 3:51Speaker 1: I'm like, yes! I walk outside! I'm like, I don't
- 3:54Speaker 1: have any friends! No, but I'm kidding. It doesn't affect
- 3:57Speaker 1: me that bad, but it is cute, actually. And, hey,
- 4:00Speaker 1: I'm glad the kids can laugh.
- 4:01Speaker 2: There's no other bald dads out there.
- 4:03Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying! Wow. That's surprising to me.
- 4:06Speaker 2: That's a lot of hair.
- 4:06Speaker 1: And look, can you tell my hair is kind of
- 4:08Speaker 1: growing out a bit?
- 4:09Speaker 2: Yeah, you've got more hair than you usually do.
- 4:11Speaker 1: I know, I need to buzz it, but... You do.
- 4:13Speaker 2: The kids need their entertainment. Buzz that head.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Right. All right. And shout out to Miss Corrine, who
- 4:19Speaker 1: runs the daycare that Miles goes to and takes good
- 4:21Speaker 1: care of everybody. So I appreciate you, Corrine. We're coming
- 4:23Speaker 1: right back with two pretty cool things. Hey, don't forget,
- 4:26Speaker 1: we got journey tickets at 725 and tickets to Lifehouse.
- 4:31Speaker 1: They're playing a big show. We got that at 810.
- 4:33Speaker 3: More Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.
- 4:39Speaker 2: I need to tell you two things.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Covey and Christine's.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Two pretty cool things.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Pretty cool birthday party happening this Saturday, September 26th. Guess what?
- 4:51Speaker 1: The oldest living person in America. turns 116 years old.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Whoa.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Her name is Naomi Whitehead. She was born Naomi Washington
- 5:01Speaker 1: in 1910 in rural Georgia. That just blows me away.
- 5:05Speaker 1: In 1910, she was born. So she was like 21
- 5:08Speaker 1: in 1931. She grew up on a farm picking cotton
- 5:11Speaker 1: and tobacco. She lived in Patterson, Georgia in her youth
- 5:14Speaker 1: with her three older siblings. In her adult years, she
- 5:18Speaker 1: moved to Pennsylvania. It wasn't until she turned 100, she
- 5:21Speaker 1: moved into assistant living. Whitehead says she's never smoked or
- 5:25Speaker 1: drank alcohol. 116 years old this Saturday.
- 5:29Speaker 2: My goodness.
- 5:30Speaker 1: If you're wondering, the oldest living person in the world
- 5:33Speaker 1: is in the UK. Her name is Ethel. She's 117.
- 5:36Speaker 1: She turned 117 back in August.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Wow.
- 5:39Speaker 1: So good for them. Yes. It's amazing. What do you
- 5:42Speaker 1: have as a cool thing, Christine?
- 5:43Speaker 2: Okay. Well, I'm excited about this, Cubby, because I'm always
- 5:47Speaker 2: ready for an easy-to-grab meal. Aldi's to the rescue. This
- 5:51Speaker 2: is brand new for Aldi's. They are making their first
- 5:54Speaker 2: ever ready-made meals for busy families. They've got seven dishes
- 5:59Speaker 2: from beef bolognese to butter chicken to chicken burrito bowls,
- 6:03Speaker 2: even a big meat lovers pizza bake for the whole family.
- 6:06Speaker 2: They've tested hundreds of recipes to get the flavors right.
- 6:10Speaker 2: They said they're aiming for bold taste without blowing up
- 6:12Speaker 2: your budget. So prices are ranging from $ 8 for single
- 6:16Speaker 2: serve to $ 15 for family style. And that'll be in
- 6:20Speaker 2: stores beginning in early October.
- 6:23Speaker 1: That's where I get all my seltzer, by the way.
- 6:24Speaker 1: So I'll be going there today. I live on seltzer.
- 6:27Speaker 1: I'm addicted to seltzer water.
- 6:28Speaker 2: You and Eric, by the way. Yeah. He's got the
- 6:30Speaker 2: same thing.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Aldi has the best prices for that. Okay. So I
- 6:33Speaker 1: buy them like by the bulk.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Like once every couple of weeks. Oh, that's great. So
- 6:37Speaker 1: I'm going to go today and get one of those meals.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Check it out. All right. We're coming right back with
- 6:40Speaker 1: more variety from the 80s through today.
- 6:43Speaker 3: More Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Next on Light FM. 106.7 Light FM. Good morning. It's
- 6:51Speaker 2: Covey and Christine. Don't roll over and go back to sleep.
- 6:54Speaker 2: I know you want to.
- 6:55Speaker 1: I know.
- 6:56Speaker 2: It was so hard to get up this morning, right?
- 6:58Speaker 1: It's that time of year.
- 6:58Speaker 2: The temperature drops and it just all changes. And I
- 7:01Speaker 2: know I was just walking down the hallway and I
- 7:03Speaker 2: overheard your conversation with Jim Kerr.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. We were at the coffee machine.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Our beloved neighbor.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Yes.
- 7:10Speaker 2: And you guys were both saying how you just were tired. Why?
- 7:14Speaker 1: I said, how are you feeling today?
- 7:16Speaker 2: He goes, I'm tired.
- 7:18Speaker 1: And I don't know why. Yeah, exactly. That's what I want.
- 7:22Speaker 1: The quick answer would be, well, we know why.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Yes.
- 7:24Speaker 1: We get up at 3.30 in the morning. But it's
- 7:27Speaker 1: an extra tire today. Yes. And I really think it
- 7:30Speaker 1: has to do with the whole coolness of the air
- 7:33Speaker 1: and the late sunrise.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what Jim said. It's dark and early. Right.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Back to dark and early. Yep. There's a little science
- 7:40Speaker 2: behind it, too, Cubby. The temperature change affects how long
- 7:45Speaker 2: it takes to fall asleep. So because it's fluctuating right now,
- 7:49Speaker 2: you might not be getting the cues that you need
- 7:52Speaker 2: to fall asleep a little bit sooner to work things out.
- 7:56Speaker 2: And you might put too many blankets on the bed.
- 7:58Speaker 2: And remember, you're supposed to keep the room cooler. Right.
- 8:01Speaker 2: So you can fall asleep. You've got shorter days, darker
- 8:03Speaker 2: evenings can also make you feel sleepier earlier. So like
- 8:08Speaker 2: our whole circadian rhythm is changing at the moment.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Right.
- 8:11Speaker 2: So we're a little thrown. The darker mornings make just,
- 8:14Speaker 2: it's just harder to get.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Out of bed. Right. Well, it's helping for the kids,
- 8:17Speaker 1: I'll tell you that. If you have a six and
- 8:19Speaker 1: a four-year-old like myself or a five and a three-year-old
- 8:22Speaker 1: like producer Kristen, the fact that it's going down, you know, earlier.
- 8:26Speaker 2: That the sun is going down.
- 8:27Speaker 1: The sun's going down earlier. Yeah. It's so helpful. Right.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Because the kids are getting the cue at like 6.30, like, okay,
- 8:34Speaker 1: it's nighttime now.
- 8:34Speaker 2: You gotta go to bed now.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Or two months ago, it was impossible.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Because that's melatonin, like naturally releasing in your systems. So
- 8:42Speaker 2: we apparently have more of it this time of year
- 8:44Speaker 2: because it's like kicking off earlier. So that's why you
- 8:47Speaker 2: get that it's a little harder to get out of
- 8:49Speaker 2: bed in the morning.
- 8:50Speaker 1: And that's why I'm on coffee number four.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Yes.
- 8:53Speaker 1: I've been up since 3.30.
- 8:54Speaker 2: A lot of us may be less active during the
- 8:58Speaker 2: colder months. You know, we're not going out and running around.
- 9:00Speaker 2: So that cuts back on our energy and our sleep
- 9:04Speaker 2: quality and then changes in diet and eating patterns. So
- 9:07Speaker 2: we tend to eat heavier meals regularly. late in the
- 9:10Speaker 2: evening and we want comfort foods because we're, you know,
- 9:14Speaker 2: dealing with weather conditions, that takes longer to digest and
- 9:17Speaker 2: can disrupt sleep as well. Sleep experts advise eating on
- 9:21Speaker 2: the earlier side and making sure you're getting plenty of
- 9:23Speaker 2: fiber during the fall.
- 9:25Speaker 1: I love eating on the early side, that's for sure.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, me too. Blue plate special, 4 o'clock, let's go.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Yeah, 4 o'clock, dinner time, nothing beats it.
- 9:32Speaker 3: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Next on Light FM.
- 9:37Speaker 1: 106.7 Light FM, good morning, it's Cubby and Christine. Lots
- 9:40Speaker 1: of entertainment news happening today on this Wednesday. You want
- 9:44Speaker 1: to meet somebody, you can go down the street. Yes.
- 9:46Speaker 1: You want new music from somebody, something happening on Friday. Yes, too.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Where do we start, Christine?
- 9:52Speaker 2: All right, well, let's start locally because we have a
- 9:54Speaker 2: meet and greet opportunity with Joe Jonas today.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Yeah, so we're located, not today. cares, but we're in
- 10:02Speaker 1: midtown Manhattan and we are not far from this location.
- 10:04Speaker 1: We could probably just walk down there and be there
- 10:06Speaker 1: in 10 minutes, but there's going to be a line already. Exactly.
- 10:09Speaker 2: We'd be standing in line, Cubby. It's at Nordstrom Rack,
- 10:12Speaker 2: which is located on 6th Ave and 31st Street. Joe
- 10:16Speaker 2: Jonas is going to be there because he is the
- 10:18Speaker 2: face of Kenneth Cole's cologne, Inspire.
- 10:20Speaker 1: And by the way, you mentioned the line already. Yes.
- 10:23Speaker 1: And he's only there for like an hour?
- 10:25Speaker 2: 6 to 7 p.m.
- 10:26Speaker 1: A little narrow window there.
- 10:28Speaker 2: And the first 100 people can buy a signed bottle
- 10:31Speaker 2: and get a picture with him. And like we said,
- 10:34Speaker 2: people are already lined up.
- 10:36Speaker 1: But maybe they're up to 98.
- 10:38Speaker 2: You never know.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Maybe two more people, then boom, you can be 99
- 10:40Speaker 1: and 100 and get that bottle.
- 10:42Speaker 2: And maybe you can at least do a drive-by. You
- 10:44Speaker 2: can walk by and say, oh, I saw him.
- 10:45Speaker 1: That's true.
- 10:45Speaker 2: You know, something, anything.
- 10:47Speaker 1: That's cool.
- 10:48Speaker 2: So that's your Joe Jonas sighting for the day. And yes,
- 10:51Speaker 2: the internet exploded yesterday because Taylor Swift let us know
- 10:56Speaker 2: that there is a new song coming on Friday. And
- 10:59Speaker 2: the song is called Patient Zero.
- 11:01Speaker 1: And people are already breaking it down. What could it mean?
- 11:05Speaker 2: Let the Swifties go. Here's some of the theories they're
- 11:08Speaker 2: coming up with, Cubby. It could be the dark counterpart
- 11:12Speaker 2: to the life of a showgirl. Fan called it a
- 11:15Speaker 2: sister album to the life of the showgirl. And it's
- 11:17Speaker 2: the death of a showgirl.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Wow.
- 11:20Speaker 2: That's pretty intense.
- 11:22Speaker 1: What do you personally think? Because you're the biggest Taylor
- 11:24Speaker 1: fan I know.
- 11:26Speaker 2: I kind of like that dark side, maybe hopefully not
- 11:30Speaker 2: like quite that dark. But, you know, Life of a
- 11:32Speaker 2: Showgirl was really up positive, upbeat. And then there was
- 11:36Speaker 2: like a little hint, even in one of the videos
- 11:39Speaker 2: from that, that this was coming.
- 11:40Speaker 1: You're good.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Like to be patient.
- 11:42Speaker 1: You're good.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Yeah. Like if you.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Be patient zero.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Exactly. Be patient zero. She's hinted towards this for a while.
- 11:49Speaker 2: People say it could be about her directing debut. Taylor's
- 11:53Speaker 2: talked about wanting to direct a film. And maybe Patient
- 11:56Speaker 2: Zero is her directorial debut, and this is a single
- 11:59Speaker 2: for the film.
- 11:59Speaker 1: The thing I wonder, I know you don't know the
- 12:01Speaker 1: answer to this, but is this one of those albums
- 12:03Speaker 1: where she always mentions how she has so many extra
- 12:06Speaker 1: songs that she has room for to put on another album?
- 12:11Speaker 1: Is this really, quote, new music?
- 12:15Speaker 2: Like, as far as I know, when did she write it?
- 12:17Speaker 1: Right. We've never heard it, but maybe it was done
- 12:20Speaker 1: three or four years ago.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Oh, I don't think three or four years ago. But
- 12:23Speaker 2: I kind of like these theories about maybe it was
- 12:26Speaker 2: around that Life of a Showgirl time, and that had
- 12:29Speaker 2: one vibe, and this is going to have another.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Well, no Friday.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Last thing is, it could be a callback to, I guess,
- 12:36Speaker 2: the L.A. Times when she first started dating Travis Kelsey,
- 12:40Speaker 2: called her patient zero for emotional contagion. So she may
- 12:43Speaker 2: not have liked that.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Okay. So there is a lot to break down.
- 12:47Speaker 2: So that could be something to do with the song.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:50Speaker 2: Yes, you were able to go on her site yesterday
- 12:52Speaker 2: and preorder and get ready to go. I can't wait
- 12:56Speaker 2: to hear it on Friday.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Friday here at Light FM. We got you.
- 12:59Speaker 3: More Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 13:03Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Christine has everything you need to know. Good morning, Christine.
- 13:07Speaker 2: And good morning, Covey. So we mentioned the U.N. General
- 13:09Speaker 2: Assembly underway. Gridlock alert for the rest of the week.
- 13:12Speaker 2: We have world leaders gathering. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
- 13:17Speaker 2: continuing the war of words with Mayor Mamdani, saying that
- 13:22Speaker 2: he was coming to the U.N. General Assembly this week to, quote,
- 13:25Speaker 2: tell the truth about Mamdani. And President Trump also speaking
- 13:30Speaker 2: with global leaders yesterday at the U.N., putting on notice
- 13:34Speaker 2: that he has a big decision to make concerning Iran.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Some patients are suing GLP-1 weight loss drug makers over
- 13:41Speaker 2: sudden vision loss. They allege the drug manufacturers didn't provide
- 13:45Speaker 2: clear information about this possible side effect, and it includes Wigovie, Ozempic,
- 13:51Speaker 2: and also Zetbound. They're all facing lawsuits concerning that. Getting
- 13:55Speaker 2: into the world of sports, Giants fans, this is not
- 13:59Speaker 2: the best news concerning Jackson Dart. I'm sorry, Cubby.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Well, I'm a Jet fan, but I feel for the
- 14:06Speaker 1: Giant fans because I'm not one of those Jets fans
- 14:08Speaker 1: that hates the Giants.
- 14:10Speaker 2: That's good.
- 14:11Speaker 1: I went through the Aaron Rodgers thing with the Jets,
- 14:13Speaker 1: how that happened like that out for the year, and
- 14:16Speaker 1: that happened three years ago, and Now Jackson.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Yeah, so he had an injury, and they were hoping, okay,
- 14:21Speaker 2: maybe he's out for a couple of weeks, but it
- 14:23Speaker 2: might be the season.
- 14:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Which, yeah, they were not hoping to hear. In sports,
- 14:29Speaker 2: the Mets beat the Rangers 6-3. They sign Andy Green
- 14:32Speaker 2: as full-time manager with a three-year deal. The Yankees split
- 14:35Speaker 2: a doubleheader with the Tampa Bay Rays. So the Rays
- 14:40Speaker 2: clinch their playoff spot, and the Yanks get the wildcard spot,
- 14:44Speaker 2: minus Aaron Judge.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Correct.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Another injury.
- 14:47Speaker 3: Yes.
- 14:47Speaker 2: We're talking about an injury there.
- 14:48Speaker 1: It's tough. It's tough.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Injuries all around.
- 14:52Speaker 1: I'm kind of hurt right now. My knee hurts.
- 14:53Speaker 2: I know.
- 14:54Speaker 1: I'm out for four shows.
- 14:55Speaker 2: You can't walk across to the other side of the room.
- 14:59Speaker 2: All right. If you're selling your home, this is good
- 15:01Speaker 2: news for you, homebuyers. Right now, this is considered like
- 15:05Speaker 2: the best week to put your home up for sale.
- 15:08Speaker 2: It's coming up. Realtor.com says the sweet spot is the
- 15:12Speaker 2: last week of September, first week into October. It has
- 15:17Speaker 2: to do with typical season patterns in the housing market.
- 15:20Speaker 2: So during the spring and summer buying activity is high.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Families want to make moves before school starts. But with
- 15:25Speaker 2: the fall, you have less competition, and homes that remain
- 15:29Speaker 2: on the market could mean some prices drop from the
- 15:32Speaker 2: height of the season. I guess the one who's selling
- 15:34Speaker 2: doesn't want to hear that. The one who's buying does.
- 15:36Speaker 1: It goes down.
- 15:37Speaker 2: But if you are selling, there's a lot of interest.
- 15:40Speaker 2: They say this is great September 27th through October 3rd.
- 15:43Speaker 1: All right. You're hitting up Zillow now.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 15:46Speaker 1: You know, we look at Zillow even when we're not
- 15:47Speaker 1: house hunting.
- 15:47Speaker 3: I know.
- 15:48Speaker 1: It's just fun to look.
- 15:49Speaker 2: It's just a thing.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Yep.
- 15:50Speaker 3: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Is this your diamond? We're talking diamonds. 106.7 Light FM.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Cubby and Christine in the morning. This is a great song,
- 16:07Speaker 1: by the way.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:07Speaker 1: From the 80s. Herb Albert and Janet Jackson, a song
- 16:10Speaker 1: called Diamonds. But there is a couple on Long Island,
- 16:14Speaker 1: and they're not being selfish. They're not going to keep something.
- 16:16Speaker 1: They're trying to find the owners.
- 16:17Speaker 2: They're so nice. I know. So this couple goes to,
- 16:20Speaker 2: they're going to a Broadway show.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Okay.
- 16:22Speaker 2: And then they're going to Tony DiNapoli's for dinner before
- 16:24Speaker 2: the show. And the woman, Michelle, one of the ladies,
- 16:29Speaker 2: sees something shiny in the front door, kind of in
- 16:32Speaker 2: the vestibule. And she goes to pick it up. And
- 16:35Speaker 2: then afterwards, when she had time, when she got home
- 16:37Speaker 2: and she cleaned it off, she saw it was a diamond.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Look at that.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Like a really nice diamond. She said that it had
- 16:46Speaker 2: numbers on it. It was engraved, which means it's got
- 16:50Speaker 2: certification from, she believes, the IGI, which is one of
- 16:55Speaker 2: the world's largest diamond grading organizations. And she said when
- 16:58Speaker 2: she realized it was engraved, then she knew, like, this is...
- 17:03Speaker 2: worth a lot and it's worth a lot probably in
- 17:06Speaker 2: a sentimental way to someone. Like this could be somebody's
- 17:09Speaker 2: grandmother's diamond or it could be for an engagement ring
- 17:13Speaker 2: that they saved for their whole life.
- 17:15Speaker 3: Wow.
- 17:15Speaker 2: And she wants to get it back to The person
- 17:18Speaker 2: it belongs to.
- 17:19Speaker 1: When they probably could just keep it and never tell anybody.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:23Speaker 1: But they're doing the right thing.
- 17:24Speaker 2: They are doing the right thing. So these ladies, Michelle
- 17:27Speaker 2: and Jennifer DeLucia, or DeLuca, they've done something like this before.
- 17:33Speaker 2: They said there was a visitor here in town from
- 17:36Speaker 2: New Zealand, and they found their passport in Times Square,
- 17:38Speaker 2: and they made sure that that person was reunited with
- 17:41Speaker 2: their passport. They say for them, it's just really important
- 17:44Speaker 2: to always give back. Because, again, this could be incredibly
- 17:48Speaker 2: important to someone, this diamond.
- 17:51Speaker 1: So I wonder how someone's going to prove, though, yeah,
- 17:53Speaker 1: that's my diamond. I know. I lost it. I know
- 17:55Speaker 1: you have the engravement.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Yes.
- 17:56Speaker 1: And they haven't really said what's on the engraving.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Well, you could.
- 18:00Speaker 1: At least the article.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Yes.
- 18:02Speaker 1: I'm seeing it doesn't say that. Right.
- 18:04Speaker 2: That would confirm, the engravement would confirm details about the diamond,
- 18:08Speaker 2: its cut, carat weight, color, clarity, and original purchase date.
- 18:11Speaker 2: And those details. Oh. might be what will help you
- 18:16Speaker 2: verify that that's your stone.
- 18:17Speaker 1: If everything matches up. Yes.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Maybe you've got the certificate at home that goes with
- 18:22Speaker 2: the diamond.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Wow. That's very nice that they're actually really trying hard.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Yeah, they're putting it out there to the media. I
- 18:28Speaker 2: know NBC News has covered it, so it's been on television.
- 18:33Speaker 2: They're trying to find the owners of this diamond.
- 18:35Speaker 1: And if this couple that's trying so hard to find
- 18:38Speaker 1: the owners of the diamond, if the owner never comes forward...
- 18:42Speaker 1: you're going to feel better about keeping it.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true.
- 18:45Speaker 1: You're going to have a good conscience.
- 18:46Speaker 2: They don't have to feel guilty about that. Yeah, they
- 18:49Speaker 2: said they don't want anything for it except they said
- 18:51Speaker 2: like to the owner, pay it forward. Like just good deeds.
- 18:53Speaker 2: Like they're just trying to keep it positive. So, you know,
- 18:57Speaker 2: you would probably do the same thing, wouldn't you?
- 18:59Speaker 1: Hell no, I'd probably keep that. Coming up, we got
- 19:02Speaker 1: journey tickets. Light FM.
- 19:04Speaker 3: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Next on Light FM.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Hey, did you hear about the naughty Jack-O-Lantern? We have
- 19:12Speaker 1: a story for you. Hey, you make my candle burn brighter.
- 19:15Speaker 1: 106.7 Light FM. Cubby and Christine in the morning.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Excuse me?
- 19:19Speaker 1: What's the deal with this Jack-O-Lantern?
- 19:21Speaker 2: Well, a little heads up in case you have Jabberin' Jack.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Jabberin' Jack.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Yeah. He's gone viral because he sings some suggestive songs
- 19:31Speaker 2: grown-up stuff it's double entendre it's a you know mark
- 19:35Speaker 2: safe for kids oh but.
- 19:37Speaker 1: So like like the adults know yeah to a kid.
- 19:40Speaker 2: It's just it's just jabbering jack doing his thing so
- 19:44Speaker 2: yes he is a pumpkin that lights up and he
- 19:47Speaker 2: is built with songs so when you go up to
- 19:50Speaker 2: the door, he starts singing to you. One of his
- 19:53Speaker 2: songs is called Wicked for One Night. It's about a
- 19:56Speaker 2: lonely pumpkin looking for love.
- 19:58Speaker 1: Wow.
- 19:59Speaker 2: So he's gone viral, and some parents are complaining, Cubby.
- 20:03Speaker 2: And they said, all right, we hear you. Mindscope is
- 20:06Speaker 2: the company. They're apologizing. If they're making anybody uncomfortable, they're
- 20:10Speaker 2: going to remove those songs in the 2027. Oh, so
- 20:14Speaker 2: you're saying buy this version up. Yeah, because this guy,
- 20:19Speaker 2: this is it.
- 20:19Speaker 1: This is going to be something.
- 20:20Speaker 2: They're not going to pull them off the shelves if
- 20:22Speaker 2: you have them.
- 20:23Speaker 1: You want to keep. Yes. Or resale.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Right. He's not going to be around next year singing
- 20:27Speaker 2: the same songs.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Because these current songs he's singing is getting him kicked
- 20:31Speaker 1: out of the pumpkin patch.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Get out of here. Jabberin' Jack is what it's called.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Yes.
- 20:37Speaker 1: All right.
- 20:37Speaker 2: You, with your sense of humor, and I, we might
- 20:40Speaker 2: think it's funny and like it, but some parents are
- 20:42Speaker 2: saying it's not appropriate.
- 20:43Speaker 1: In 2026, the version out now is the little bit
- 20:46Speaker 1: of a dirty one.
- 20:48Speaker 2: They're going to clean it up next year. It's not, yeah.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Right.
- 20:50Speaker 2: All right.
- 20:51Speaker 1: You know what we're going to do? We're going to
- 20:52Speaker 1: open our phones right now and give something away, but
- 20:54Speaker 1: there's a catch to this. You have to win our
- 20:57Speaker 1: trivia battle. 1-800-222-1067. We need two people to play. What
- 21:00Speaker 1: are we giving away, Christine?
- 21:01Speaker 2: Tickets to see Journey, Sunday, October 25th at Prudential Center.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Tickets on sale now, Ticketmaster.com, or you can call and
- 21:08Speaker 2: play with us.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Good luck.
- 21:10Speaker 3: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Next on Light FM.
- 21:15Speaker 1: You pretty good at trivia?
- 21:17Speaker 2: Light FM's Trivia Battle.
- 21:19Speaker 1: All right, Christine, on this hump day, playing on Team
- 21:23Speaker 1: Cubby is Amy from Marlborough, New Jersey. Amy, good morning.
- 21:27Speaker 1: What do you do for a living? I am an
- 21:29Speaker 1: oil trader. Oil trader. Wow. Okay. And, like, what is
- 21:34Speaker 1: that like? I mean, are you in front of a
- 21:35Speaker 1: computer all day? Yes, exactly. Sitting in front of a
- 21:38Speaker 1: laptop all day. With Light FM on. There you go.
- 21:41Speaker 1: All right, Amy, good luck. Who's on Team Christine?
- 21:44Speaker 2: Alicia in Queens. Good morning, Alicia. Good morning, guys. Hi.
- 21:49Speaker 2: What are you up to today? Well, I'm a vet tech,
- 21:52Speaker 2: so I'm on my way to work.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Oh, hey. Taking care of our fur babies, huh?
- 21:55Speaker 2: Yes, we love them. Thank you for doing that.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Well, thank you both for calling in. And here's how
- 22:01Speaker 1: it works. Amy, you're going to get three questions. Alicia,
- 22:03Speaker 1: you're going to get three questions. And the best out
- 22:05Speaker 1: of three wins our trivia battle. Here we go. Question
- 22:08Speaker 1: number one for Team Cubby and Amy. Amy, back in 1982,
- 22:11Speaker 1: it was around this week in 1982, the first NFL
- 22:15Speaker 1: player strike began. How long did that last? Was it A,
- 22:19Speaker 1: 17 days, B, 37 days, or C, 57 days? 37 days.
- 22:26Speaker 1: 37 days. That was a tough question, and unfortunately you
- 22:30Speaker 1: are wrong. It's 57 days. 57 days. All right, over
- 22:34Speaker 1: to Team Christine.
- 22:35Speaker 2: All right, Alicia, here we go. Which NBA star is
- 22:38Speaker 2: set to host the season premiere of Saturday Night Live
- 22:41Speaker 2: this Saturday? A, Stephen Curry, B, Jalen Brunson, or C,
- 22:46Speaker 2: Damian Lillard?
- 22:48Speaker 1: I feel like I should know the answer to this.
- 22:50Speaker 2: I'm going to go Stephen Curry. No, sorry. It's Jalen Brunson.
- 22:57Speaker 1: It's our New York Knick champ, Jalen Brunson. But okay,
- 23:00Speaker 1: it's all right. It's tied up 0-0. Amy, Nicole Richie
- 23:04Speaker 1: just celebrated her 45th birthday. Now, she once starred in
- 23:09Speaker 1: a reality show with which of these ladies? A, Jessica Simpson, B,
- 23:13Speaker 1: Paris Hilton, or C, Kim Kardashian? B, Paris Hilton. That
- 23:17Speaker 1: was a quick one.
- 23:18Speaker 2: That is correct.
- 23:20Speaker 1: All right, 1-0, Amy. Pressure on Alicia.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Alicia, a new season of The Voice just premiered. Which
- 23:25Speaker 2: of these ladies is one of the new coaches? A,
- 23:27Speaker 2: Queen Latifah, B, Eve, or C, Ashanti?
- 23:31Speaker 1: I'm going to go with Ashanti.
- 23:36Speaker 2: No, I'm sorry. It's actually Queen Latifah.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Well, here we go, Amy. You can win it if
- 23:41Speaker 1: you get this right.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Okay.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Okay. What year was the Game Boy, Nintendo's handheld console,
- 23:48Speaker 1: first released? The Game Boy came out in A, 1989, B, 1992,
- 23:50Speaker 1: or C, 1995?
- 23:50Speaker 2: 1992.
- 23:51Speaker 1: 1992? No.
- 23:51Speaker 2: No.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Wow. So this is a real barn burner. Alicia, if
- 23:52Speaker 1: you get this right, you have tied it up, and
- 23:56Speaker 1: we go to overtime. Okay. Here we go. Okay.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Okay, Alicia. The Noid was a red-suited villain who appeared
- 24:14Speaker 2: in advertising for what restaurant chain in the 80s? Was
- 24:18Speaker 2: it A, Pizza Hut, B, Domino's, or C, Little Caesars?
- 24:24Speaker 1: I'm going to go with Little Caesars.
- 24:28Speaker 2: No. I'm so sorry. Alicia was Domino's.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Amy, I don't know how you won. By default.
- 24:37Speaker 3: I'll take it.
- 24:38Speaker 1: You won 1-0. You did it. That's my default.
- 24:40Speaker 2: I got one right.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Okay. All right. In my mind, it felt like a default.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Okay. Alicia, thank you. You know you can always play again.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Call us and play again.
- 24:49Speaker 1: All right.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Thanks, guys.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Thank you so much. And, Amy, congratulations. You're going to
- 24:54Speaker 2: see Journey on Sunday, October 25th at the Prudential Center.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Yay. Thank you so much. All right. Thank you. I'm
- 25:01Speaker 1: actually surprised that Alicia owns a radio. That she was
- 25:05Speaker 1: able to call in. And she has a phone. And
- 25:07Speaker 1: she has a, I don't even know if she has
- 25:08Speaker 1: a TV, but she didn't know much about pop culture.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Poor Alicia.
- 25:12Speaker 2: You know, sometimes people get a little nervous.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Maybe, maybe. But I mean, that Jalen Brunson question was
- 25:18Speaker 1: a softball. Okay, okay. Okay, I'm sorry.
- 25:19Speaker 2: She might still be listening.
- 25:20Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Alicia. I'm sorry. Call tomorrow.
- 25:22Speaker 2: Alicia, call again.
- 25:23Speaker 3: Yes. More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety
- 25:27Speaker 3: you expect. Next on Light FM.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Kiss on my list. What about a text you didn't
- 25:32Speaker 1: ask for?
- 25:33Speaker 2: Yes.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Light FM, it's Cubby, Christine, producer Kristen. Go ahead. What happened?
- 25:37Speaker 2: Okay. Or even in person, Cubby. What's a good response
- 25:42Speaker 2: when somebody tells you I love you and you don't
- 25:45Speaker 2: love them back?
- 25:46Speaker 1: Okay. This didn't happen to anybody in the room, but
- 25:48Speaker 1: it's a story that.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Oh, it didn't?
- 25:50Speaker 1: Well... Okay.
- 25:51Speaker 2: So these are some of the suggestions. This is what
- 25:53Speaker 2: people say. Think about it. Somebody's told you they love you.
- 25:57Speaker 2: They're really putting themselves out there, but you're not feeling,
- 26:00Speaker 2: you're not quite there. You can simply say, thank you.
- 26:03Speaker 1: That is very cold, and that's not good.
- 26:08Speaker 2: You can say, that means a lot to me, and
- 26:10Speaker 2: I'm grateful for your feelings.
- 26:13Speaker 1: I mean, I've seen all these before, by the way.
- 26:15Speaker 2: You have? Or heard?
- 26:17Speaker 1: Before I got married. Yeah, they just weren't there.
- 26:20Speaker 2: We're reading the same book, but you're a few pages
- 26:23Speaker 2: ahead of me.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Now, that's actually kind of encouraging if you're dating somebody
- 26:27Speaker 1: and they say that.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Because they're kind of saying there's a chance.
- 26:30Speaker 2: You're saying there's a chance.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Right. Yeah. Dumb and dumber.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Yes, exactly. Thank you. I feel very loved by you.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Oh, okay. I mean, that's nicer than just thank you.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel it. The one I think you never
- 26:45Speaker 2: want to say, I know. That's a suggestion, too.
- 26:50Speaker 1: I know. How about that we're at, in this day
- 26:52Speaker 1: and age, a fact that it's all about texting and
- 26:54Speaker 1: how it comes across on text. It should be in person.
- 26:57Speaker 1: It should be on the phone.
- 26:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:58Speaker 1: You shouldn't have to worry about how you're going to
- 27:00Speaker 1: respond to a text. If someone says, I love you,
- 27:02Speaker 1: but you're not in love with them, what do you
- 27:03Speaker 1: say back? You could send maybe a tumbleweeds gif or.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Something like that. I don't think so.
- 27:08Speaker 1: But it should be in person. It should be on
- 27:12Speaker 1: the phone and not on text. Of course.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Of course.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Do you even remember... The first time you said I
- 27:19Speaker 1: love you to Eric, was it on text or was
- 27:21Speaker 1: it in person?
- 27:21Speaker 2: No, it's in person.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Okay. And how did it go?
- 27:26Speaker 2: So, you know how I said the one thing you
- 27:29Speaker 2: don't want to say back to somebody if you're not
- 27:30Speaker 2: there yet is I know. That's how it went in person.
- 27:34Speaker 1: He said I know?
- 27:35Speaker 2: Okay. So bear with me.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Set this up for me. Hang on. Let me get
- 27:39Speaker 1: the right music. Okay.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Cubby, we were... it was clearly there. The feelings were
- 27:46Speaker 2: clearly there between us because trust me, I'm not putting
- 27:50Speaker 2: myself out on that limb. And I don't want to
- 27:51Speaker 2: scare anybody either. We were like six months into dating
- 27:55Speaker 2: full on. He was like practically living at my house.
- 27:57Speaker 1: That's a good amount of time.
- 27:59Speaker 2: And I kind of half slipped, but needed to say,
- 28:02Speaker 2: I love you. What does he do? He says, I know.
- 28:08Speaker 2: And he started crying and it wasn't tears of joy.
- 28:11Speaker 1: That was my next question. It had to have been
- 28:13Speaker 1: tears of joy.
- 28:14Speaker 2: He started crying.
- 28:15Speaker 1: He realized he was on the same page as you.
- 28:17Speaker 2: He's he was on the same page as me, but
- 28:20Speaker 2: he had come out of a rough relationship and he
- 28:22Speaker 2: was afraid of falling in love again. And like that
- 28:26Speaker 2: would be leading to hurt down the road. So that's
